Buarbreen, located in the Folgefonna National Park near Odda, offers a picturesque and challenging hike. The trail features diverse terrain including mountains, glaciers, forests, streams, and waterfalls. Hikers must navigate steep and rocky sections with ropes and ladders while also crossing muddy areas. Despite the challenging terrain, the hike is manageable for those in good shape. The stunning views of waterfalls amidst glaciers and fjords make this an unforgettable experience.
The hike tool around 3 hours with a few breaks, it is a beautiful hike, the views are amazing. There are a lot of bridges to get over the beautiful brooks. There are ropes to climb ul the rocks. The hike is a lot of climbing with around 400 meter ascent. The way down goes a bit faster but it is the same route. You can take a detour at the last 10 min.
Finn B — Google review
Nice hike all the way to the base of the gletcher, at the top it was a bit tricky, we had to jump from boulder to boulder to cross the waterfalls. But the reward was at the top. Awesome view there!
Arjen — Google review
The views are stunning! We managed to reach the top with our dog, but I wouldn’t recommend it for small children or small dogs. In some places, you need to use chains to climb up. The glacier can only be accessed with a guide—otherwise, you can just see it from fairly close once you reach the top. It took us about 3 hours with short breaks in both ways.
Austė K — Google review
This hike is Crazy!! You will see a little jungle in the middle of glaciers and fjords. You can start your hike in the near of Odda (8km from the city center) as a cool-down the day after Trolltunga. The views are tremendous. The waterfalls going wild these days and you will cross many of them on the way to the top. We had 500m of ascent and in total 10km back and forth. At the parking you have to pay 185NOK for the day. At the entrance of the hiking trail you will face horses and cows in their habitat. Just make sure you bring water resistant shoes and a bottle of water, that could be refilled on the entire way to and on the glacier.
Niklas — Google review
A really interesting and fun walk, lush green to start with a rocky trail then some slightly more challenging sections with ropes (these are a little trickier on the way down) and clambering but this makes it go quick. Some great spots for a snack break with views and a very cool end to see the bottom of the Glacier pretttyyy close! Highly recommend but you should be confident on your feet for the latter half.
Hannah W — Google review
From the parking lot you get your first glimpse of the glacier. Parking cost 150NOK a day and you pay by credit card when leaving. From the parking lot you follow a marked path. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the walk is as much of the event as the glacier itself. The trip is close to 3 km one way, and with normal walking speed you will use 3-4 hours in total. Most of the time you walk on rocks and boulders and there are also some parts where you need to use the fixed ropes to climb or rappel. No climbing experience or equipment is needed, but you would benefit from having good leg and arm strength. Good hiking shoes are required, and don't forget to bring warm clothes as you end up 650 meters higher than you started and cold winds from the glacier pours down the valley. You won’t be able to walk on the glacier itself as a meltwater river stream at the base blocks your way. Enjoy!
Arn P — Google review
The hike was great, going up the rocky path, including several places where you have to use ropes/chains. However, it is not too difficult. It looks rather steep from below, but despite some harder spots the hike was totally ok and the glacier was actually closer than it appeared from the valley.
Zuzana H — Google review
One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done (and I live in Switzerland where we have so many stunning hikes). This hike doesn’t take long, less than 3 hours if you’re in good shape, and the variety of terrain you see - mountains, glacier, forest, streams, waterfalls - is spectacular. The trail is rocky and steep in parts, requiring use of ropes and ladders to scramble up some of the slopes. You also have to cross a few muddy, wet areas, so be sure to wear good hiking shoes. Enjoy!

Røldal stave church

Røldal Stave Church, located in the charming village of Røldal, Norway, is a historical gem dating back to the 13th century. This wooden church is celebrated for its remarkable architecture and cultural significance. Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes including majestic mountains and cascading waterfalls, it offers a picturesque setting for visitors.
Its not every day you get to see an 800+ year old wooden church. The craftsmanship is amazing. Its also still an active church.
Adam H — Google review
A small old church, well preserved. A tourist attraction with an entrance fee a bit higher than expected. But when you think in maintenance, it has to be like that.
Arne B — Google review
Cool historic church but first time in my life that I have seen an entrance fee to a church. Have to pay 80 nok to enter. Ridiculous and offensive. It is a place of worship that is supported by government tax, why does anyone need to pay to enter.
Fikrat A — Google review
Beautiful outside, entrance fee was to steep for me to go in.
Wesley P — Google review
Went out of our way to stop here on purpose. The stavkirka looks as unrealistic in real life as it does on the photo. We didn't go inside the museum, just watched from the outside. The town itself is very quiet, peaceful and atmospheric. There are car chargers and a large grocery store nearby, which is very convenient for a stopover.
Jean — Google review
The church looks beautiful from the outside and, based on the pictures I’ve seen, the interior seems really nice as well. However, we visited as a family, and with the price being 80 NOK per person (240 NOK for us), it felt a bit too expensive, so we decided not to go inside. I also overheard several other visitors saying the same. Maybe offering a lower family ticket or donation-based entry could encourage more people to explore the inside and learn about the church’s history.
Katja R — Google review
This is well worth a visit on your way through the mountains. Situated near a good cafe and camp ground the old church is very pretty and really gives you a good sense of the architecture from an older time, it’s interesting for those that enjoy this sort of thing.
Anthony G — Google review
The Stave church is historic. It costs about $8.00 to enter. My wife went inside and said it was worth the cost. Stopped for lunch at the Shell station in town. It was fine

Plenty of space, well laid out for both large and small vehicles. Access on both sides of the road. There is a small kiosk on the fjord side, the WC was closed for repairs when we were there. You can walk down to the water from here too.
Jon R — Google review
Plenty of free parking for all size cars and tour buses. I recommend going early because this is a popular tourist spot. They have clean bathrooms and it is only a short walk to get to the bottom or to the top of the waterfall. You are also able to walk behind the curtain of the waterfall. There are two gift stores and one offers drinks and ice cream with outdoor picnic benches to sit and enjoy your drink. This was a great stop for us.
Maria P — Google review
Gorgeous waterfall that you can walk behind. Easily accessible parking and toilets. Small tourist centre for advice.
Mark P — Google review
Great spot right next to the waterfall. Found parking easily, even during the day. Clean toilets, nearby cafés and shops — everything you need for a quick and comfortable stop. Beautiful surroundings!
Tigran M — Google review
Open 24 hours, well lit, plenty of parking and clean bathrooms open as well. Plus the view of the waterfall. During the day you have tourist info, cafés and shops. At night the bathrooms are open and the waterfall is lit up for a beautiful view!

Astonishing experience!! Going in and behind the waterfall was incredibly beautiful

The Blue Ice Hike is our favourite experience in all of Norway, and it’s an absolute must-do! Our guide Thorbjorn was so experienced, patient and friendly and made the learning experience so enjoyable :) He listened to our needs and requests, and catered the tour accordingly! We had requested to hike on slightly more technical/ challenging terrain and he made sure we were challenged but very safe! He also snapped many great photos for us! Would 10/10 recommend :)
Shanice A — Google review
My wife and I spontaneously booked a private glacier trip. We requested an adventure and they delivered! Our guide, Emil, was fantastic. He took us to the front glacier, which was a challenging 2 hour hike. We then ate lunch and went ice climbing on a glacier wall. Emil and I wanted a better view of a glacier cave so we walked barefoot through the stream to access a high point! Finally we went back by “doing a bit of mountaineering,” which entailed rock climbing through a small waterfall. We couldn’t have envisioned a more fun day. Emil brought extra gloves for us so that we could swap at lunch for dry ones. I highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting Norway!
Michael M — Google review
Wow absolutely magical day on the water with Sverre and the Folgefonni team. They were super prepared with gear that kept us dry and safe. Amazing views of the glacier and great kayaking. Highly recommended!
Andrew L — Google review
We went on the glacier kayak tour. Beautiful, amazing place for a paddle! Seeing a glacier up close was an amazing experience, as was paddling through bits of ice. It's a truly beautiful place. The guide was great! The dry suit, gloves and boots kept me very warm. A couple of things to note - it was a 45 minute drive from Rosendal to the lake where we paddled to the glacier. We went in our car in convoy with the guide, but it is possible to travel with the guide. On the day we went, the water level was extremely low, which meant carrying the kayaks down to the water, and also breaking the paddle to carry the kayaks over some rocks. The guide was really helpful in helping with this but it was hard work!
Joanne V — Google review
Åsmund was so helpful in assisting me to join the trip, even if I just inquired the day before. Everything was set-up well, making sure everyone was safe, comfortable and had fun. The hike was beautiful! Lars, Vilda and Somna (I hope I spelled their names correctly) were all incredible, very patient in explaining, and had an encouraging and upbeat attitude. Wishing you all the best and thank you for all that you do!
Louie M — Google review
We did the Panorama hike at the glacier with Maria and Vilde, the hike was wonderful, Maria and Vilde were very kind and professionals. The views were astonishing! We recommend It ! We did the hike with our kids age 11 and 12.
Olga E — Google review
We rented kayaks for the evening, which was originally planned for afternoon. Amber was extremely kind and helpful, and understanding when our previous trip was delayed. Kayak equipment was good but not as great as I would have expected for 500kr. But the minor things were easily manageable thanks for the perfect weather and amazing area where we took our trip to that evening.
Megan F — Google review
we did two activities - first of all the blue ice glacier hike, second kayaking on the fjord - Gro was a great guide for both of these. Very well organised and a lot of fun. The cafe is good too. Recommended!

If you're planning to visit the breathtaking Latefosse waterfall, they can arrange a convenient shuttle service that allows you to soak in its beauty for 15-20 minutes before returning to town.
Just an incredible town!!! So many things to do and don't forget to eat a burger in the "Spar" market xD.

This tourist office can provide you with everything you need to know about the Trolltunga hike and logistics. They give out free maps of the surrounding area and the city and more! This tourist office has a luggage storage facility. I would highly advice any international or national tourist to pay Odda touristinformation a visit if you are in Odda or the Ullensvang county area if you have any questions:)

Great staff. Asked questions about sight seeing and local hikes. Got great advice and had a nice walk.
Xander A — Google review
A disappointing experience. The three young women behind the desk didn't seem to have a clue and apparently weren't hikers themselves. They did know the English words for "long" and "short" but looked blankly at each other when we asked about trail specifics. When asked specifically about the Buer glaciar hike, they assured us that trail conditions were dry. Not!

Very nice museum with a little cafétéria where the kids can play if it’s raining outside. We took a small boat (it’s included in the ticket). The personnel was very kind and helpful.
Milica T — Google review
Excellent hands-on experience, it is not just a museum but is an active worksite where they build and refurbish boats. The staff and workers were kind and eager to answer our questions. The newly built cafe section was nice, we can recommend the cheesecake. Included in the fee is access to rowboats which you can take to an island in the harbour 😊 highly recommend!
Athanasios K — Google review
Very interactive museum/workshops for wooden boats/vessels restoration. During our visit unfortunately nobody was working (it was Sunday), however during the week you can see people at work in metal shop, shipyard and handmade ropes and tackle. This is also the place where both private wooden boats/yachts and museum owned vessels are docked awaiting restoration. Super cool even for adults opportunity make the hand made rope ourselves! Which we did :) When the weather is not on your side, it’s a nice place to spend couple of hours.
Ira H — Google review
We had the best time in the Centre, unfortunately, it was bad weather, so no one was there it was even better, everything was open you could do what you wanted, the rope making was I think the best experience.
Marek B — Google review
Very interesting and child friendly museum. Staff super helpful and took trouble to make sure things were made available. It is possible to walk along the jetty and take a close look at boats and go on board a larger sail boat that takes people on trips. Try your hand at throwing a life line - it’s harder than it looks! The film playing upstairs was most interesting and we were given a choice of which one we watched. There is also a video exhibition across the car park. Children can build their own wooden boats and there is lots to do and see.
Jeremy W — Google review
Perfect museum for lovers of historical boats. Interesting to see the workshops where the boats are renovated
Frantisek C — Google review
I absolutely loved this place! There are workstations that allow you to actually participate in ship making process. You can make ropes, build wooden toys (with your kids), this is a very hands on museum, great for kids and I felt like a kid. also, they restore old boats using the original technique and you can see how it is done!
Dmitriy B — Google review
We had so much fun here. Made ropes in an old fashioned way, built wooden boats and tried to row a boat.. two hours were not enough

Absolutely magic day on the Trolltunga winter hike in early Feb. The weather was ridiculously magnificent which made the experience unforgettable. The business operates so finely with dedicated personnel - easy booking, clear communication, big focus on safety and wellbeing and in delivering joyful adventures. The team were amazing at coordinating dates between parties to ensure the trip progressed. The pre-hike brief was great to set expectations and the hike itself was brilliant. Øyvind is a fantastic guide - full of knowledge, great stories and 100% intent on making your day the best! The snow racers down the hill are the perfect way to finish the day - a surprise thrill and only something for the winter time. I also did an intro to cross country skiing adventure and it too exceeded my expectations! Highly highly recommend and fully endorse Trolltunga Active, the hotel, and all their winter adventures! A dream winter playground that everyone needs to experience.

Amazing hike and your guides. The views and scenery were incredible. If you’re going to stay in the shared domes make sure to bring earplugs, in case someone snores, and an eye mask to block out the light. Or ask about their private tent option so you don’t have to worry about that!
Griffin C — Google review
Completed the sunset/sunrise combo with via ferrata with Joel and it was absolute amazing. Joel was awesome and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide, especially as a first timer on via ferrata! Getting there after most people have left is pretty amazing too - no queue (which apparently can be 2 hours+) at Trolltunga, had a delicious dinner, and cozy sleep in their glamping tents. Next day was an easy, but long hike back down to P3, where we were excited to see our shuttle to take us down to P2. Absolutely a must do and thank you Joel for being truly amazing!

Did a overnight hike to Trolltunga via ferrata in July with Trolltunga Active and it was amazing, we had a small group on the day and our guide Agnes was very knowledgeable, explained a lot of things along the way.
Mark T — Google review
I absolutely loved the guided hike to Trolltunga! Staying at the Trolltunga Hotel was a game-changer—it's super convenient for starting the adventure, with the prep meeting kicking off there at 9 pm. The beds were super comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant served up some amazing dinners with a beautiful view. Our guide, Stepan, was awesome! He kept us safe and entertained with his stories and knowledge. The hike to the Via Ferrata was a bit tough but totally doable, and the climb was just incredible with those stunning Fjord views. Once we reached Trolltunga, Stepan even rapelled over the cliff to take a group photo. Our second guide, Lucyann, made sure we were well-fed with delicious hot stews that tasted like they were from a 5-star restaurant. The fish stew was a must-try! The outdoor toilet was a short hike away but had the most amazing views, so even that was a fun part of the trip. On the way back, Lucyann kept us safe and entertained with her own hiking tales. Overall, it was an unforgettable adventure, and I can't recommend Trolltunga Active enough. Huge thanks to Stepan, Lucyann, and Eulstein for making it so special!
Sarah W — Google review
A very beautiful place, a wonderful hiking route. But the weather was upsetting, there was a lot of fog. Therefore, I recommend checking the weather before going up.
Andrii H — Google review
My wife was a bit nervous the day before the hike. So we decided to book the guided tour so that we have a professional to guide and pace it for us. we started late due to one couple arrived one hour late (unreal right?)!!! But Tove was a very wonderful guide and she made the entire hiking fun. She took a lot of pictures for us on the way there and back. My wife had a lot of chat with her on the way back so it make the return trip feels quick and relaxed. We will recommend it to anyone if you feel nervous hiking alone.

Trolltunga is a stunning rocky outcrop that juts out high above a lake, accessible via a challenging 27km hiking trail. The surrounding area boasts snow-capped mountains, magnificent glaciers, and breathtaking waterfalls cascading into the fjords. Visitors can also explore the Flåm Railway and Nærøyfjord, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. This region is rich in natural beauty and history, with remnants of Norway's industrial revolution and hydropower capabilities.
Absolutely amazing and gorgeous 😍 place. You can get there from parking 2 basically. Then take a shuttle bus, climb all the way along the trail or.. use via ferrata! This is in my opinion the best idea if you have enough courage to do it and are fit enough. It will shorten the whole journey significantly and give you more time to enjoy the top. The typical trail up and down is a whole day trip and pretty hard, so really be prepared for the weather. Whole experience is truly amazing and wonderful. Go for it!!!
Adrian W — Google review
The hike to Trolltunga is stunning, and so is the Trolltunga view point. I will give you my advice for coming to Trolltunga. I arrived at P2 at 6:30 and I came early to make sure to have a parking spot. When I returned to the parking at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon there were still available spaces. I must add that the hiking trail today didn't feel very busy. The waiting time at the view point was 5 minutes at 10:30 in the morning. How did I hike? From P2 I walked all the way and didn't take the shuttle bus. The road up there (same one as the shuttle bus drives) is about 2,5km and very steep. When you walk passed the shuttle bus stop on the mountain the first 2km of the trail are also steep. It's s path builed out of large rocks that form a stairway. Don't understand it, this is the hardest part of the hike. After that the trail will remain relatively flat all the way to Trolltunga. The trail is well maintained from beginning to the end, it's pretty much impossible to get lost. Just follow the metal poles and red marks "T". From P2 to Trolltunga and back without a shuttle bus is a ~26km round trip. The views along the way are gorgeous and spectacular!
Lars V — Google review
1. Planning to park at P3? Book parking slot in advance! I’m talking really in advance — we tried 10 days before our hike and every single spot was already taken. 2. The shuttle from P2 to P3 is a lifesaver. Honestly, it saved us both time and energy for the Trolltunga hike itself (ours took 3 hours up and 3 hours 5 minutes back). You can buy shuttle tickets online for the ride up. The ride down is paid on the spot after you arrive back (possible by card). 3. Think twice before bringing kids. We have two — 14 and 10 years old, both super active — but we left them at home. Best decision ever. 4. A summer rain jacket is non-negotiable. In August, the weather changed 10 times an hour — heavy rain, freezing wind, bright sun, repeat. Rocks get slippery, so sturdy hiking boots are a must, preferably fully waterproof. If it’s windy and raining, water will get everywhere, no matter what. 5. Layers are your best friend. With the weather changing so quickly, you can go from hot to freezing in minutes — and you’ll definitely feel the difference. Bottom line: exhausting, unpredictable… and 100% worth it. Enjoy every minute!
Viktorie K — Google review
Trolltunga is absolutely breathtaking! The hike is challenging—long and steep in parts—but every step is worth it for the views at the top. The cliff itself is incredible for photos and the surrounding fjords are stunning. Make sure to bring proper hiking gear, food, and water. Truly one of Norway’s most iconic and Instagram-worthy spots!
Ter N — Google review
The hike was easy for me, been here twice in 3 years, unfortunately the shuttle bus for 2 section is getting pricey. Take sufficient water and queue for the line and enjoy the view.
Dennis Z — Google review
Rather boring hike on a cloudy day and impressive queue to make a picture. We enjoyed the picnic behind the rock, such a cosy spot, you don’t see and hear the crowd. A bit overhyped, I wouldn’t do it again.
Anna C — Google review
Beautiful hike with incredible scenery all along: turquoise lakes, glacier and huge rocks. The Trolltunga is very impressive as well. Be aware on a good day there is a big queue to take pictures on the rock.
Andrei A — Google review
Hands down, one of the most scenic and picturesque places I’ve seen. It cannot be described and photos don’t do this place justice, but let’s say it’s worth every step of those 27.5 km. We parked at P2 and started our hike at 8:15. Beware, because if there is a bus coming down, you might have to park at P1 and wait there a while until they tell you you can continue, so plan this possible delay too. The first leg is definitely one of the hardest (if not the hardest) and there are two more sections along the way which might be a bit more challenging for a semi-experienced hiker. You can fill water from the streams from the first shelter onwards which is around half way to Trolltunga. We took a lot of photos, made short detours, and had two longer breaks around lakes, so it took us around 6 hours to get there. The line for taking pictures between 1 and 3pm on week days is between 30-40 minutes, although if you don’t insist on having your pictures taken on Trolltunga itself or you are in a rush, there is a smaller and similar looking rock just behind it and there might be no line for it at all. We did take pictures on both rocks. The descent took us a little over 4 hours as we kept a steady and somewhat brisk pace all the way down. Again, if you are in Norway and you are in a good enough physical condition, don’t think of skipping Trolltunga - it will be one of the most amazing natural sights you’ve ever seen!

Worth the trip. Buildings are amazing and the setting is wonderful - perched on the side of a fjord. Lovely small exhibitions. And very kind staff. Google hours were incorrect and they let us in early so we didn't have to miss it!

Had a great time. Our very own recital from local fiddler. The local classic soup and crispy bread made in the wood fired oven in the bakery hut was fantastic.

Amazing location, a bit smaller exhibition area than expected. Very nice outdoor part, with old buildings although most of them were locked.

Very interesting museum, very good collections: I just recommend pointing out more noticeably the low ceiling in old buildings, because I took a big bump on the head against a doorframe :'(

Lovely museum to go back to the heart of Norway in Utne. Worth visiting when staying near Bergen.
Laia — Google review
Interesting indoor exhibition and great outdoor display of traditional houses with beautiful views of Utne, however the entry price is a little steep for what you get. That does however include a free tea or coffee which is nice :) Staff were very nice and spoke English which is always a plus.

Tveitafossen is the first of four magnificent waterfalls along the Kinso River, each showcasing nature's raw power. This stunning spot is easily accessible and offers a breathtaking view right next to a power station. The hike to Tveitafossen can be challenging but rewarding, especially for those who venture further to see all four waterfalls: Nyastolfossen, Nykkjesoyfossen, and the grand finale at Sotefossen.
Beautiful hike. Not easy but doable for all kinds of people. The waterfalls are worth it.
Simon J — Google review
This is the first waterfall you'll come across if you're doing the hike to see all four which is what we did. Easy to get to but still impressive next to the power station. I recommend getting to the second one if you can but it's a steep climb!
Ade0410 — Google review
I visited this place with my dog. We walked on the hiking route all the way to the top and had a nice dip in the waterfall before heading down. On the way down i noticed there is another route which is a road with gravel. Such a nice surprice, as the route we took up was very exausting with a dog on your shoulder :-) I recomment you to take both routes, in which order is for you to decide. There is a big difference between the routes and how you watch the river from them and i wouldn't like to miss any of them!

(Translated by Google) Beautiful! The Husedalen hike starts in the town of Kinsarvik, in the western fjords area. From Bergen it is about a 2-hour drive. The walk starts easily, on a paved road. Until the first waterfall, Tveitafossen. That is about a 30 minute walk. Then the real hiking begins. The path becomes steeper and more difficult. But it's worth it 🙂. (Original) Prachtig!

(Translated by Google) Easily accessible waterfall. It is located right next to the waterworks. The following waterfalls on the route are more impressive. We continue past the waterworks along the pipe. (Original) Leicht erreichbarer Wasserfall. Er befindet sich direkt neben dem Wasserwerk. Imposanter sind dann die folgenden Wasserfälle auf der Route. Weiter geht es am Wasserwerk vorbei entlang des Rohrs.

(Translated by Google) Very nice, large waterfall. The first of four in the Husedalen valley after about a 30-minute walk from the parking lot at the go-kart track. The next ones are definitely worth seeing, although the approach to them is a bit more difficult. The entire route to the four waterfalls takes about 4 hours of leisurely walking there and back. Cała trasa do czterech wodospadów to ok. 4 h spokojnego marszu tam i z powrotem.

(Translated by Google) This trip is absolutely fantastic, but somewhat demanding. From the first waterfall you can go further, either by road or by path. We recommend taking the road until you see the signs from DNT (marked T) towards stavali tourist cabin. Then you get the best way along the waterfalls and rivers. Remember to take several breaks on the worst slopes and drink plenty of water from the river. Went on the trip with small children aged 5 and 7, and it went well, but could have been a little better marked with distance signs and generally better marking. Otherwise, the trip was completely adventurous! It is fine to camp between the second and third waterfalls. Just before the third waterfall, there is also a WC that you can use.

This is one of the recommended place if you have kids. Its big enough to explore for entire day. Many activities for kids. Nice and well maintained bathrooms. Good resturants. A bit expenisive though. Swimming pool experience is the best. And kids train, painting, slides etc were great. Amazing experince for kids and family. Has a nice and big parking place. Beautiful views from the park.

Amazing place for kids. My kids loved it and want to go back soon 😻
Suzy F — Google review
It’s a fun place for kids 2-13. Older kids might enjoy it, depending on their own definition of being “cool”, or how good siblings they are. Recommends bringing food and drinks, if you’re in a budget, but food and drinks are available throughout. Recommend bathing/swimming before 12, as the water is warmer and there is less people.
Endre R — Google review
We spend there the whole day, it's amazing place, so much to do! Non stop fun for younger kids! They will not know where to go first! Only minus would be that There's missing something for teen kids! The deepest pool is 110cm, and not allowed to jump! So all together it's dream for kids, boring for older kids!
Tea S — Google review
Very fun play park for young children (under 10). There’s a playground, a small water park area, and an indoor jungle gym. The food isn’t the best (except the French fries which are delicious) but you can bring in your own and there’s even grills available for use if you bring your own hot dogs and such. It is a bit pricey but so worth the smiles on the kids’ faces after a trip there!
Shadai S — Google review
Very nice for the kids to make them happy, busy and playing and swimming. On the same time adults can relax. Because kids don't get boring, just so many activities
Jūratė V — Google review
Good park with many activities for kids. Facilities need upgrades to today’s standards. Fishing possibilities
Fazel K — Google review
Nice amusement park for children 2-12. Lots of aktivities, swimming pool, climbing park, play ground etc. 4-6 hours is enough to complete all activities, of course you can spend all day in park. You should buy ticket before 7-15 days before to secure your place in summer but DO NOT Give Up, if all tickets are booked, it is generally possible to buy ticket after 12.00 or 13.00, you should go to mikkelpark camping reception center to ask if there is empty place. If you hungry there are some cafe and fast food restaurant. (Grill plate 180 Accomandation: There are some hotels and camping place close to the park. Mikkelpark has own camping place. I can also advise kinsarvik camping.

What a wonderful trip. We did the family friendly (easier) one, Sunday afternoon in June. Rainy day that turned sunny. The river is gorgeous— the water is clearer than any I’ve ever seen. The terrain is beautiful forest, but also power lines and buildings, so it doesn’t feel super remote. But still incredibly peaceful, and only the sounds of nature. The whole process was super easy & chill. They provided clear safety instructions and guidance before and during the trip. They provide wetsuit (overall bottoms + top + booties) (5mm today but they have other warmth ratings) and thick windbreaker jacket and life jacket and helmet. You change in a side room. There’s a bathroom available too. The building is an 6-min walk from the train station and gondola. They even take pictures (which they’ll send us for free) from several spots on land along the way. Manish & Thomas were awesome! Very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. 😀 highly recommend.

Kayaking was awesome! Our guides, Anil and Mohan made it so fun and easy. I’m not much of a kayaker but they have lots of tips and breaks throughout the experience. I would highly highly recommend.
Kelsie — Google review
I did the kayaking and e-MTB tour with Outdoor Norway with my partner and we had a blast. Anil was our guide for kayaking and Lauris was the guide for e-MTB and they really made us feel welcomed and met us where we were at. Both session had smaller group sizes (both sessions had six riders, including us) so you don't feel over crowded and the guide can give you feedback or just chat with you. Our kayaking session was all adults and the biking session had a family of four with two kids, both instructors were able to tailor the experience for the skillset that each individual had. For example, I'm a novice kayaker but seasoned cycler... though not necessarily with mountain biking but with each session I had fun and felt good. If you're looking for some outdoor fun in the area I would highly recommend Outdoor Norway!
Natasha D — Google review
My family had an amazing time with our guide Mohan, the river was up so we had to take a different route than originally planned, but they made sure we had tons of fun and adventure. The equipment was in great shape and clean, they also had a nice waiting area and changing area.

We had the greatest time ever! The staff are very professional in taking care of everything from safety to instructions and pure pleasure. They take extra attention to kids. All the apparell is in very good condition and wet cleaned after every activity. Showers are clean and provide lockers for personal clothing to liquid soaps to have a wash afterwards. Was worth every penny.

What an amazing time! I did family rafting (grade 2) but I was paired up with such nice belgian family and had so much fun rafting and swimming. It was my first time but very easy since our guide, Will, who is from New Zealand, was very professional but also made sure everyone had fun and adventures! Thank you Will!! Every staff was friendly and had fun loving vibes, and all of us had laughs and fun! Definitely hope to visit again

We made a Rafting Tour Class 2 and it was an amazing experience for us. It was fun from the minute it started. Our guide perfectly tailored the ride to the kids (ages 6–8) – they had the adventure of a lifetime! 😊 Afterwards, you can relax with a drink at the hotel’s outdoor bar. Even if you're not a hotel guest, you’re warmly welcome to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere.

Very fun rafting experience. Our guide was very friendly. The company is run like a well oiled machine. Getting instructions and gear was done efficiently. Having a wet suit provided was a necessity with the cold water temperatures. This was my first experience rafting with a company that's done a swim test. It did seem a little odd that the swim test was done after going down the river 10-15 minutes. However, I appreciate that the safety of participants was taken seriously. Overall, great company and staff.

Waterfall
Nature & Parks
Tvindefossen is a stunning waterfall that cascades over 150 meters, nestled among the picturesque tree-covered hills and cliffs of Norway. Located just a short drive from Voss, this breathtaking natural wonder is easily accessible for travelers journeying between Bergen and Gudvangen. While it attracts many visitors, especially cruise ship passengers, its beauty remains captivating regardless of the crowds.
There's a lovely waterfall on the road to Gudvangen. It's a beautiful place, and camping is available.
Pamir Ç — Google review
Tvindefossen is a stunning and picturesque waterfall, definitely worth a quick stop if you’re passing through the area. The view is beautiful and the waterfall itself is elegant, making it a great photo opportunity. However, there’s not much else to do once you’ve taken in the view. The area around the waterfall is fenced off with rope, so you can’t get close to the water or the base of the falls. There are no benches or places to sit and relax, and picnics are not allowed, which makes it more of a short visit than a place to spend time. Overall, a beautiful sight, but limited in terms of access and facilities.
Ati B — Google review
Easy to park and access falls. Saviour shop with a restroom. Quite popular, quick in and out stop.

Myrkdalen Fjellandsby

Ski resort
Nature & Parks
Ski resort with a stylish hotel, cabins & runs of varying levels, plus mountain biking in summer.
A friendly ski resort near Voss in Myrkdalen. The resort has wide open slopes and opens early in November. It wasnt busy on a weekday and we could enjoy good ski runs. The staff were friendly and helped to adjust our lift pass when we needed to change dates.
Li K — Google review
The location is excellent and it's the best choice for skiing enthusiasts! The rooms are also very clean. The only drawback is that there are too many people and the elevators are a bit small, so you have to wait for a long time!
Angela杨 — Google review
Not terrible but far from great. Clean rooms but very, very small rooms. Like, tiny. Not enough space to open a couple of suitcases on the provided luggage racks. No phone to call reception, no tissues, no glasses, no fridge and apparently no daily room service. Hotel is too busy. Reception staff seem overwhelmed much of the time -- or just absent. Very helpful when they are there but more often than not, a long wait to access them. Otherwise staff were generous here and in the restaurant. Despite being a ski hotel, a shocking lack of facilities most notably felt by a lack of a proper boot room. To dry wet equipment. Having to resort to a conference room was crazy and also inconvenient. Restaurants: amazing pizza but dire lack of choice. A la carte restaurant features amazing food repeatedly served at luke warm temperatures. Prices: everything is just crazy poor value peaking at a pint of average quality beer at 164NOK. Yes, Norway is not cheap but this takes things to another level. In summary, not good enough for the price by a long way. Compared to luxury hotels in Germany, Austria which are better equipped and offer better value, service and facilities.
Greg B — Google review
Lift operators too lazy to clean chairs of snow and slush. Also very limited runs as resort would not open higher runs despite plenty of snow.
Tony M — Google review
The best ski holiday i've ever had. It's very secluded and quiet whenever i go there. I have been twice and i don't regret either times.
J — Google review
Very nice place! Best I have seen in Norway so far. Only minus was that it had been snowing all night and all slopes where covered in 25cm loose snow. Not a big problem for me but i was happy I didn't have my wife and kids with me because they wouldn't have enjoyed this day.. Maybe check the weather forecast and if they expect a lot of snow during the night then take the prepping of the slopes in the morning instead of wasting the effort the evening before ?? Otherwise excellent ski resort !!
Daniel — Google review
First skiing holiday for my family and I, and Myrkdalen was perfect. Stayed here over Xmas week and it was mostly v. quiet with beautiful weather. Hotel is clean, comfy and modern. Food is decent (lots of it!) and staff v. pleasant. Ski slopes were perfect and the instructors at the local ski school were excellent and super friendly. I'd definitely come back for more skiing.
Richard S — Google review
Best skiing resort in Norway. Great variation of slopes and amazing views from the mountain peaks. There are often loads of people so be prepared for some long queues and crowded slopes. Most people here are very experienced skiiers though so you generally feel safe.

A quiet, centuries-old stone church surrounded by breathtaking fjord views. Stepping inside felt like stepping back in time; the peaceful silence and simple beauty of the church gave me a deep sense of calm. I and my family spent a few moments just soaking in the history and the serenity of the place. The view of the mountains and the fjord right outside added to the magic. I spontaneously stopped by and thought I'd pay this place a visit, and it did not disappoint! It's a very fascinating museum and tells you a lot about the history of Norwegian culture and landscape. The staff were also very friendly. 100% recommend if you are into nature.

The movie in the auditorium was very impressive. You get a very good sense of the nature in Norway straight away. The museum itself was relatively interactive though a little bit short to my opinion. View from the terrace on the 2nd floor was nice as well.

Amazing exhibition and well made film. I cried during the film after exploring Hardangerfjord and Hardangervidda for several days. Explains geological history of the region, art & nature, agriculture, fauna and flora. Hunting simulator. Highly recommend! Worth the money. Friendly staff! Lovely presentation!

Great regional nature center, covering geology, plants and animals. Very nice gift shop (with goats eating the grass on the roof) and restaurant.

Good place for a break on a long car journey from Oslo to Bergen. Staff speak a range of foreign languages for those who do not necessarily speak Norwegian or English and are very helpful.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the visitors centre has lots of great information and stuff to learn about Norway. They also have a 20 minute film which gives aerial shots of the national park which is absolutely brilliant.

Kjeåsen is a traditional mountain farm situated on a ledge overlooking the river valley of Bjoreio. Accessible via a steep and winding road, the farm offers breathtaking views that make the journey worthwhile. Visitors can also opt for a challenging hike to reach the farm, with stunning scenery along the way. The area boasts tranquil surroundings and holds significant historical value. Additionally, there's an option to drive through an impressive tunnel to access the site.
This has to be one of the most beautiful and tranquil places I've ever been to. The views are stunning and the farm holds a lot of history. We did drive up rather than face the steep climb up. Amazing tunnel to drive through. There's a timetable in place - drive up on the hour, descend on half the hour. Well worth a visit. We were lucky! Had nearly an hour there savouring the peace and as we were leaving a coach load of tourists arrived! Enjoy!
Ade0410 — Google review
Great view of the fjord! The road to the farms is just a bit tricky. There is a one lane road that you have to share with an oncoming traffic, which at the time we went in June 2025 was very light in but still something to consider. Right before you get to the farms you have to go through a pretty dark and long tunnel again one lane but it is totally worth the trip!
V A — Google review
Very steep but beautiful hike. You should walk uphill and take a lift by car downhill through the tunnel, because the walk down is harder than climb uphill. You don't need climbing gear in summer. There might be some nice people on the top who got there by car and mabye they can give you a ride back down. The way up is also as beautiful as the view from the top and there should not be as many tourists.

Lovely climb to the top. Circa two hours and two back. The views on the way are superb and worth it.

The hike up to Kjeåsen is quite challenging but the view is absolutely worth it.

Overhyped. Don’t see the point in going there. There is nothing. And the views you get there you can get anywhere in Norway…

I really love this place, breathtaking and very lovely nature, a little afraid when coming inside the tunnel because it's so dark but it's worth it when you see whole place of kjeasen

Stave church
Sights & Landmarks
Hopperstad Stave Church is an ancient wooden church dating back to the 1100s, located in the village of Vik on the shores of Sognefjord in western Norway. It was restored in the 1880s by architect Peter Blix and is one of Norway's best-preserved historic stave churches. The church is situated in a picturesque area with wide and fertile farmland.
Beautiful historical world heritage all-wooden stave church in the beautiful village of Vik. Free parking on the road below the church. There is an entrance fee to access the grounds and to go inside, but we just enjoyed the church from the outside. There was a pretty cool fruit stand on the street outside the church but it wasn’t stocked when we were there.
Maria P — Google review
This is must stop on any tour. We were on a fjord tour and this was one of the stops. We were there for about 20 minutes and enjoyed the beauty of the building as well as the grave stones which go back several generations. There are several people in the cemetery with the same name. It was built during the 12th century.
David H — Google review
A must see: this stave church is a surprisingly interesting site where we learned a lot about its history, the times it withstood and the people who built it. It is full of hidden gems and small details that are fascinating. There is a tour guide inside who can tell you all about it, and can answer all your questions. Truly makes is much more engaging then just checking it out yourself. It’s in a beautiful valley with a huge tree in the garden that makes it even more magical.

Kjosfossen Falls is a 738-ft. cascading waterfall located in Norway, which attracts many tourists and can be easily accessed by taking the scenic Flam Railway. The train journey itself is considered to be one of the most stunning train journeys globally, elevating almost 1,000 meters through valleys and waterfalls with a special stop at Kjosfossen Falls.
Absolutely stunning waterfall near Myrdal, Norway. You can get here by taking the Myrdal-Flam train, where it stops for 5 minutes for you to take photos. It is quite chaotic and be prepared to get soaked in water because the waterfall is VERY strong. Either way, you get some really amazing photos and a beautiful view of this breathtaking waterfall.

This is just TO DIE FOR. Must see. The infrastructure built around this is pretty fantastic. A few hundred stairs to the top with amazing views of one of the prettiest falls I have ever seen. Don't miss this!

Kjosfossen Waterfall was the highlight of our Flåm train experience! There was so much water — powerful, misty, and absolutely stunning. The moment we stepped off the train, we were surrounded by cool mist and the thunderous sound of the falls. It was cold, wet, and so much fun! We visited in the summer when it was hot, so feeling that icy spray was a big and refreshing surprise. The waterfall is truly magnificent and the energy of the place is unforgettable. Definitely one of the must-see spots in Norway — an experience you won’t forget!

A very impressive site from the journey on the train from Flåm to Myrdal. The train stops for you to sample the experience, this does become very crowded at different times of the day, we would recommend that to get a better experience use the return journey back Flåm to capture a better viewing experience.

St. Olaf's Church, also known as The English Church, is a unique and charming building located in Balestrand. Completed in 1897, it was constructed in the style of a Stave Church as a tribute to Margaret Sophie Green Kvikne by her husband Knut Kvikne, the owner of Kviknes Hotel. This church has become famous for being the inspiration behind the chapel in Disney's Frozen.
Built 1897 by Knut Kvikne (Hotel Kviknes fame) 3 years after his wife's death (1894 - TB). She was Margaret Sophie Green from England, thus the "The English Church." A beautiful building modelled on a Stave Church.

Beautiful small wooden English church that was built in 1897 by Knut Kvikne 3 years after his wife’s death. It is free to visit, but they do ask for donations. It was built as a Norwegian stave style church and it is said to be the model in the Disney film frozen. A must visit if you are in the area.

Balestrand offers a variety of fjord adventures that are not to be missed. Renting electric bikes is a popular choice, allowing visitors to explore the stunning sights along the Esefjord and Svaerafjorden. The rib boat tour to Finnafjorden provides breathtaking views and insightful commentary on the area's history and wildlife.
The rib boat tour to Finnafjorden is a must do when in Balestrand. Friendly and professional staff. Our guide Mons knew a lot about the history and wildlife. The trip takes about two hours and gives you breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The tour brings you to the end of the fjord where the steep mountains rise high above and waterfalls are the only sound you hear.

We did the speedboat tour with Ole. It was an amazing afternoon with lots of fun! Ole is a very nice guy and gives you lots of information about the life and nature around the fjord. Further it was a fun, speedy and bumpy ride - way better than rollercoaster but always safe. The service around was on top and we felt so welcome. Thank you, Ole for your time and the everlasting memory!

Breathtaking views throughout the Songefjord. Feeling the spray of the waterfall was an added perk! Our guide, Lars, was funny and as a local to Balestrand, he was very knowledgeable about local history, architecture, and Nordic legends. If you're in the area I highly suggest even a quick tour. Some views you just can't get unless you're out on the water. Takk Lars!

One of the highlights of our Norway trip was renting electric bikes in Balestrand and biking along the fjords! The sights were absolutely incredible and thanks to the boost by the electric bikes, we saw a lot in a short amount of time. They weren’t even much more expensive than the normal bikes. We biked from the shop in Balestrand along the Esefjord then to Dragsvik and finally along the Sværafjorden and back. We definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Balestrand. I want my own electric bike now!

Extremely reckless behavior from one captain. He drove with high speed aiming straight at us (sitting in a little fishing boat), turned 20m from us, caught our fishing line about 15m from our boat und cut the line. Didn't even stop to excuse himself or anything. Just unnecessary, dangerous behavior.

Nature & Parks
Nestled in the charming town of Balestrand, Sognefjord Akvarium offers a delightful experience for families and nature enthusiasts alike. This quaint aquarium features 24 aquariums showcasing local marine life, alongside fascinating wood carvings that narrate the history of the region. Visitors can enjoy an hour of canoeing or rowing on the stunning fjord as part of their ticket, making it a perfect blend of education and adventure.
This place is mostly designed for school groups and that shows. The exhibits themselves are a little underwhelming - basically slices of the undersea life on the fjords, with all its silt and detritus of shells. Stare long enough and you will discover some hidden critters. Outside, they have flow tanks, a wonderful touch pool embedded in the dock, and a section of dock with nets to pull up and ropes full of mussels. I'm sure you can see done nice bioluminescent displays here too. Finally, admission comes with use of their rowboats or canoes - a nice chance to do a little exploring of Esefjord.
Dustin M — Google review
The description of this attraction really needs to change. There is no longer an aquarium and other reviews talk about woodcarvings - nowhere to be seen. The site now operates as a cafe which is busy with not enough staff.
Guy S — Google review
We can not really recommend this aquarium. Firstly, it didn't seem that there is someone taking care of the fish. The water inside of the aquarium was dirty and there were way too many fish inside the aquarium. The fish didn't look healthy at all. Secondly the price was quite steep and definitely not worth the experience.
Klynex ( — Google review
This was the worst experience on our 2 week Norway trip, and the worst aquarium i have every seen anywhere. Let alone the fact that it is quite pricey for what it is (there are only about 20 small tanks). What disgusted us was how dirty the tanks were, inside an out. All very gross.
Eniko N — Google review
Really cute little aquarium. They don’t have a lot of jaw-dropping exhibits as it’s a small town, but it’s cool to go see the local fish and wildlife. It’s 75 NOK and they throw in an hour canoe/rowboat rental with your ticket which makes it totally worth it!
Elizabeth P — Google review
A very disappointing experience. Many of the tanks did not have the fish/animals that were described. There was a dead fish in one of the tanks.

Rail museum
The Flam Railway, also known as Flamsbana, is a renowned train journey in South Norway that covers around 20 kilometers and offers breathtaking views of mountains, waterfalls, and valleys. Considered one of the most beautiful train journeys globally, it's a must-see when visiting this part of Norway. In addition to popular attractions like the Borgund Stave Church and Undredal Stave Church, the Flam Railway Museum is an intriguing stop.
We went on the train up to Myrdal and back and then a boat cruise. It was a very interesting visit after being on the train and seeing the tunnels. It's amazing how they made them. Good displays and information in the museum and it is free to visit. Would recommend taking a look if you visit Flam or have been on the rail way .
Claire A — Google review
Here’s a vivid, enthusiastic 5-star style review (roughly 500 words) of the Flåm Railway Museum, capturing its charm, storytelling power, and why it’s a standout destination: ⸻ Stepping into the Flåm Railway Museum feels like uncovering a hidden gem nestled right beside the picturesque Flåm Station; perfectly positioned for anyone arriving via the famed Flåmsbana journey. Housed in the original train station and completely free to enter, this museum elegantly bridges local history and impressive engineering—offering a heartfelt tribute to the human spirit behind this steep railway feat . Inside, the exhibits are beautifully curated: polished original artifacts like draisines and rail-inspection trolleys sit alongside the awe-inspiring El 9 locomotive, a stalwart locomotive that powered the line from the 1940s until the early 1980s . The displays, enriched with photographs, videos, text panels, and audio guides in nine languages via the Voice of Norway app, make the narrative accessible, immersive, and deeply engaging . As you traverse the compact yet rich exhibition, you’re truly taken back to the 1920s and 1930s—when planning began and construction began in 1924. This was no small undertaking: the 20-kilometer line to Myrdal, crisscrossing 20 tunnels (18 carved by hand!), climbing almost 900 meters over rugged terrain, stands as a tribute to exceptional human perseverance and creativity . The storytelling is personal and grounded. You learn not just about technical challenges but about the engineers and workers whose day-to-day grit shaped this marvel. A visitor on TripAdvisor praised it as “well-organised” and lauded the El 9 locomotive and audiovisual tour as standout features—high praise for what’s a modest-sized museum . The space also delights in small, thoughtful touches: a model-builder’s dream awaits at the station-area diorama, and the souvenir shop offers unique Flåm-Railway-themed keepsakes—from LEGO-style sets to handicrafts—for families and fans alike . What truly elevates the experience is its seamless blend with the surrounding environment. After the awe-inducing Flåmsbana ride—traversing tunnels, waterfalls, steep gradients, stopping at Kjosfossen waterfall for photos—the museum offers a perfect, grounding complement. It connects the spectacular visual journey with the human narrative behind constructing such an extraordinary route . In short, the Flåm Railway Museum stands as a shining example of how small, thoughtfully designed museums can make a big impact. It’s accessible, educational, and deeply moving. Whether you’re a history buff, engineering enthusiast, railway aficionado, or simply someone who values heartfelt storytelling—don’t skip this stop. Your visit will leave you with a new appreciation for Norway’s engineering heritage and the indomitable will of those who built one of the world’s steepest railways by hand. Five stars—bravo! ⸻ Hope this review captures the spirit and charm of the Flåm Railway Museum for your purposes! Let me know if you’d like a different tone or style.

Great history of the railroad here at Flam. Very good exhibits with signage in Norwegian and most signs also in English. Easy to download an app for self-guided tour in several languages. We could not find all the audio guide markers and managed to have a great tour. Entry thru gift shop in central Flam. Great free museum.
Toni T — Google review
The Flåm Railway is truly one of the most breathtaking train journeys in the world. Stretching just 20 kilometers between Flåm and Myrdal, the ride is short but packed with stunning scenery that feels almost unreal. From the moment the train departs, you’re surrounded by towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, deep valleys, and charming little villages. The highlight for many is the stop at Kjosfossen Waterfall, where you can step outside to feel the mist and watch a short cultural performance. The train itself is comfortable, with large windows that make it easy to enjoy the views from either side. Commentary along the way provides helpful background about the history and engineering marvel of the railway, which is one of the steepest standard-gauge lines in the world. Yes, it can get busy with tourists, especially in summer, and tickets are a bit pricey—but the experience is worth every moment. My tip is to book in advance and, if possible, pair it with a fjord cruise for the full “Norway in a Nutshell” adventure.

This museum is a true treasue. It's a beautiful, clean space with a free entry for everybody, inviting tourists to step in and explore the history surrounding the creation of the railway, which remains a the main attraction in the area of Flam. It not only delves into the railway's history but also provides insights into the daily life of that era. At the entrance, there's also a souvenir shop where, along with your exploration of the museum, you can indulge in some tax free shopping. It is, indeed true, that it may appear small from the outside, the museum surprises with its spacious interior, featuring the highlight of an old train section at the back. Highly recommended if you're in the area, and just a 10-minute visit can be quite rewarding.

From stopping in Flam surrounded by the awesome scenery and imposing mountains we went on the Flam Safari. The staff were incredibly friendly and you could tell they take pride I what they do. After getting suited up the guide took us on a 1 1/2-2hr ride....the conditions were just perfect. The scenery and places we would never of seen and close ups with some of the waterfalls was brilliant. I must shout out our guide (who I took a photo with) named Geoffrey (hope that's spelt right!!!). Inga's energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and her love for the area made the experience feel truly authentic. We felt incredibly fortunate to have her leading our tour. We are truly grateful for the time she spent with us - thank you, Inga, for making this an unforgettable part of our trip!🩷🤗🥰

This was an exceptional tour experience. Of course the views of the Aurlandsfjord and the Nærøyfjord were breathtaking and even more incredible from the rib boat. What really made our trip was our guide Matilde. She was so knowledgeable and made sure we got all our questions answered. She took us up close to many notable places: waterfalls, towns, troll “remains” 😄, and even a waterside herd of goats. She and our gear and safety instructor Bjorn made a memorable experience even more so. It was clear that they take our enjoyment and our safety very seriously. Book this tour! You’ll be glad you did.

One of the great railway journeys of the world. Not the longest, but one of the most scenic ever .. I found it virtually impossible to stay in my seat as the views appeared from one side to the other. The stop at the waterfall was unexpected and very dramatic. The "witch" that dances to the moody music and seems to jump around the landscape is quite magical

Visited via a cruise. Flåm has one of europe's most beautiful train journeys but sadly we missed out on tickets and had to settle for the land train. These are pretty regular and do a loop of a few kilometres. We we're told that the e-cars you can hire are good fun. The weather wasn't great but it did produce some great photos of the cloud rolling down the mountain.
Alex M — Google review
It was a nice train ride. It’s a good way to get up into the mountains to appreciate the scenery. If you do t go you regret it. It’s too expensive to book through the cruise for what you get. We booked directly through the train and that was a little more reasonable. It was a relaxing ride and if was a pretty round trip tour. Picturesque. The water was low while we were there so no big rushing waterfalls but pretty.
N Y — Google review
The Flåm Train is definitely worth the price, even though everything in the area feels a bit overpriced. The beginning of the ride felt a little slow and didn’t quite live up to the hype at first, but it just kept getting better. The scenery becomes truly spectacular — especially when the train stops and you can step out near the waterfall. When we first stopped, the water was pouring down so heavily and loudly that we completely missed the little performance happening nearby! Luckily, on the return trip, the train stopped again, and we got to enjoy the icy mist and actually see the show. It was an unforgettable experience and well worth the journey — I’d love to go back someday.

The trip fro Myrdal to flam and return 2 days laters, is definitely in the top three of all our train trip, is was so much fun sitting in the old style cabins, (there was plenty of room, we could constantly swap seats to take in all the views), we had a wonderful stop at the waterfall, we will treated to snow on the return trip. All in all a wonderful experience.

Amazing views and service. It’s all tourist so expect to be packed but it’s incredible and worth the ride. We left from Mydral and went down and up after staying in Flåm and the railroad was an amazing experience. We did struggle with finding baggage space for our larger luggage but lots of overhead racks for small stuff.

A very nice place to visit however too commercialised with not many nice local foods to try. Self service coffee shop was a massive letdown. Small market was nice as were the souvenir shops. Their is a fantastic walk if a little challenging, to near the top of a waterfall about 650 meters up.

We did our kayak with Sergei, and he has been nothing but a terrific guide! The weather was perfect, and waters were calm. 3hrs kayak with 11km round trip felt quick since it was an enjoyable one. Highly recommended!

We had 2 guides (Luciana & Nicole) who were great! The kayaks were well equipped and well taken care of. We did about 7.5km in the 3 hour tour and really enjoyed our time on the fjord.

Highly recommended! We had a fantastic 3-hour tour through the scenic fjords with Luciana our friendly, fun, and knowledgeable guide. Everything was included (waterproofs, camera cases, etc) to make the experience easy and hassle free whilst making the most of being in the area for a short period.

We had a great time on the sea. Great communication with the company ahead of our trip. Easy pick up and drop off. On the top, we had amazing weather. We camped in Stokko overnight which was great too. We would defo recommend it !! :)

Absolutely fabulous trip from Flam to Gudvangen with Patrick. All the logistics were very straightforward and Patrick kept our peckers up, even when the wind got up but Nauroyfjord was beautiful and it was definitely the highlight of our trip!
