Charles J — Google review
A really great place. Full of species of fishes, even sharks. The main attraction are the marine turtles, various species and their cubs (which you can see been freed onto the sea depending on the season). The place supports a conservancy projected to protect the turtles.
Daniel J — Google review
Great staff, well organized and well mantained environment. The entry ticket justifies its R$ 24 price tag, letting you go to any places in the stabelecement (excluding the Yellow Submarine atraction) with freedom All animals are healthy and are well cared and loved by everyone working there. Things on the exit shop are pricy but are justificable by how much this project has been doing and how much they need to pay for taking care of the animals, maintain the building in good state and pay the employees as well. Overall, couldn't stay more happy to visit and help the project as well.
Victor R — Google review
It's so little! I would recommend if you want to see a group of sharks and some little turtles. Overall I am kind of disappointed because compared to the TAMAR project of Praia do Forte this one has only is 1/3 of the size and attractions. I would recommend watch the animal feeding. You can also ask for a stamp in your arm in case you want to go out and return later on.

With a size of a 3 floor building and memorable shapes, it's a very good tourist point in orla. In its front there are EU ❤️ ARACAJU, which means: I love Aracaju. This is the best known place from the capital of Sergipe. Beside the Arcos da Orla de Atalaia there is the beach, but you need take a long walk in the sand to be at the sea. Projeto Tamar in Praia do Forte was an amazing experience! They’re doing incredible work in protecting sea turtles and raising environmental awareness. It’s a meaningful visit that’s both educational and inspiring. Definitely worth your time!

It's a very interesting, but small exhibit. It's fun to see, but keep in mind that you will maybe spend there 1-2 hours MAX. If you don't have a tour! We went 2 hours before closing and it was the perfect time to go.
B. N — Google review
It is definitely a place worth visiting. You can admire turtles of different sizes, from tiny hatchlings to enormous old turtles. While they offer guided tours, unfortunately, these tours are not available in English, and not all exhibit descriptions have English translations. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the visit.
Arkadiusz J — Google review
Amazing from A to Z you can spend a whole day here with the kids and they'll never get board. Food, play area. Shows and lots of nice vibes. Highly recommended the kids can feed the turtles too!
Yasmeen F — Google review
I was very impressed with the amount of information about turtles. They have a number of different turtles as well as other sea life. Also there's turtles that have been found injured that are being treated. With the moderate admission it was well worth the experience. I was very impressed with the obvious passion the staff has to support the mission of protecting turtles. The staff were readily available to answer the questions that our group had. The gift shop had a number of beautiful options. Make a visit here a part of your vacation to Priai do forte!

Fun outdoor activity to do with kids (free under 5)! Employees are kind, always available to explain or help. Fun way to learn about turtles. There are also sharks and rays to see. The gift shop is nice too :) For people with babies, please note that there are 2 bathrooms on the site, but only one that is baby friendly. It's the one located at the entrance of the park where you pay your ticket. Enjoy :)

Love the place. The landscape and the turtles are amazing. You can clearly see that they love them and care about them. If you want to eat somenthing inside there, you have an open restaurant facing the ocean with a breathtaking view. You will not regret the experience.

(Translated by Google) Not far from the capital, east of Salvador, just after Flamengo beach, I came to see another tropical paradise called Buraquinho Beach. Imagine a beautiful, clean beach, of unparalleled beauty, where the river flows into the sea, full of coconut trees and even grass on the beach. This "Buraquinho" is a beach that you can call "yours", because there is no frenetic movement at all. I discovered it here at "Buraquinho", the old woman's hole. I loved this hole... Imagine a hole full of cold beers, fried fish, crabs, shrimp and the like. The stalls that exist here serve the coldest beers in the region. A spectacular place to spend your vacation. Esse "Buraquinho" é uma praia que você pode chamar de "sua", por que não tem movimento frenético algum. Conheci no aqui no "Buraquinho" o buraco da velha. Me amarrei nesse buraco... (Translated by Google) From an infrastructure standpoint, it is an essential service that is extremely useful and important for the transportation and integration of the capital and the highways that come from the South, Southeast and Central-West of Brazil. Ferry boats deserve better attention from the government, as well as the services provided. The vessels that were once extremely modern, today require minimal repairs and care. It is worth mentioning that other states in Brazil do not have ferries of this quality and construction, so maintenance would be enough to improve service conditions. Pedestrians and all types of vehicles board with practically no restrictions. (Translated by Google) Terrible public transport service, including the high price charged; it's not worth the money you pay! It takes a long time to board, it's very disorganized and there's no monitoring of the volume of music that some users play! (Translated by Google) Terminal without good signage. When you get to the entrance, you can hardly tell it's a terminal, because what you see above it is a huge advertisement that looks more like the entrance to a company than the entrance to the terminal. The service is disorganized, and it wasn't busy, I can only imagine what it would be like on weekends and holidays. The bathroom is filthy, dirtier than an old gas station on the side of the road. It's absolutely absurd for the price they charge! How can the government of Bahia not monitor the service provided by this concession? The concessionaire Internacional Travessias is certainly not following the rules of the contract. It's a clear case that privatization will not improve the service if there is no monitoring and follow-up of the contract by the concessionaire!!!

Nature & Parks
Hiking area
The Buracao Waterfall in Brazil is a breathtaking natural wonder located in a winding canyon. It can be accessed through a guided hike or swim, and is widely regarded as one of the country's most impressive waterfalls. Although not easily accessible, visitors are rewarded with stunning views of the 85-meter tall waterfall and its surrounding environment. The water temperature is pleasant and safety vests are provided for added security.
Life changing event, get up early, hire a guide there on the spot, bring water and a fruit.
Bizulino — Google review
Buracão is definitely one of the most beautiful waterfalls you'll see. And it is by far the most must-go spot in Chapada Diamantina. It is compulsory to hire a local guide to enter the park. Usually, it costs 150 for up to 6 persons (we were two, so we paid 75 reais each). The entrance fee is 15 reais per person. The access isn't as easy as many other spots around but it's really worth it. We drove past Ibicoara, about 24km on an dirt road, then another 4km past the ticket booth, and then we walked for 1 hour in an easy-level track, which is suitable for both elder and children alike. You can reach the bottom part of the waterfal either by rappel (commonly 1 ½ hours wait plus 20 minutes rappelling) or walking (20 minutes). If you choose to walk down the track, you drop your stuff on a rock and swim a small shallow canal to see the waterfall from below. Water is refreshing cold. There's no one selling beverages or whatsoever at the waterfall so it's a good idea to grab yourself something to eat. There's someone selling snacks (many vegan and vegetarian options available) and beverages at the entrance of the track (past the ticket booth, right before you start the walk).

This is a must do in the region. The trail is 3 km long (very short in my opinion), going through local vegetation, rock formations and the river that becomes the Waterfall. The waterfall is spectacular (nothing more to say). Our guide, Ossy (not sure I am writting that corectly) was very kind, and adapted the tour to our needs and interests. Totally recommend.

Extremely nice, bade below a 85 meters tall water fall, with ok water temperature and with safety vests included. Not too crowded.

Must go !.. best waterfall in Brazil
A P — Google review
Amazing waterfall in a great setting! Definitely worth it! But avoid to do the tour with the agency Bicho do Mato - even though the price for a group of four is fixed in Ibicoara they charged us more after we returned from the tour.
B. J — Google review
Hike along a river, through the mata, down beside one waterfall to arrive at a canyon that you need to swim through to reach a spectacular waterfall... An amazing day. Just be careful following Google maps - we were led well astray. You have to go through Ibicoara, and it's worth getting a guide from there - there's a tricky lookout you probably won't find on your own to see Buracão from above.

It is a natural park in Minas Gerais state. The park is wonderful, full of sedimentary rocks and natural vegetation, some streams and caves. You can trail everywhere there and have fun in contact with nature. I also recommend going to "janela do céu" (window of the sky), which is a very long walking trail. It is tiring, but worth the visit. About the park itself, I do recommend it.

Great park. Good infrastructure and beautiful waterfalls...
Adelino J — Google review
The park is amazingly beautiful, great choice for camping, enjoy some fresh air, hiking, waterfalls, watching birds and wild life. The sky at night is so full of stars! It's a quite big park and maybe two, three or even four days might be necessary to see everything, but anything u see of it it will worth it! I do recommend it!

Great place for a hike! There are trails also suitable for kids. However, make sure your knees are healthy. There are lots of ups and downs.
Paulo F — Google review
Make no mistake my friends, this is one of the greatest places to visit at least once in your lifetimes. It's not simple or easy to get to, and some of the trails are definitely not for beginners, but it's worth every little drop of sweat to climb up to the window of the sky (janela do céu) and enjoy the unique experience this place has to offer. It's ao marvelous it's almost mystic.

Pirâmide São Tomé das Letras is a famous tourist spot located at an altitude of over 1,400 meters above sea level. The pyramid-shaped stone hut with unique windows for stargazing and doors leading to different parts of the structure is a must-see. While it's a popular attraction, the nearby Pedra da Bruxa offers a quieter alternative for enjoying the sunset and hosts spiritual and sports activities during the day.
Beautiful old stone masonry town. Many interesting places to see while walking all the slate streets. The roads are very bouncy, so rather park your car and see the towm on foot.

The "Pyramid" itself is not worth noting, but the location, with a 360° view of all this region of southern Minas Gerais is breathtaking, and the sunset is an spectacle on its own.

(Translated by Google) The waterfall itself is really cool, with different spots with pools and waterfalls. I went on the first weekend of winter and at 2pm the sun was already gone. There are restaurants and private parking next to the waterfall (we paid 25.00). Note: I went on a holiday and it was really crowded. We waited 40 minutes for a space to appear in the parking lot. Apparently safe, children and adults can have a lot of fun. Parking costs 20.00, with no option to park on the street. Several restaurants and bars along the way, as well as street vendors. Even though there is no slide, the place is very cool to enjoy nature. You can go up the river quite a bit before the waterfall, it is worth exploring (Original) Escorrega obrigatório! Overlooking Campos do jordoan, beautiful European style town right in brazil. You can take a "ski lift" type ride up or down to the overlook. Couple of little shops and food vendors so you can spend a little extra time enjoying the view. The photos are what so much of the home, hotels, shops and restaurants are like.
Bert A — Google review
It was OK but not that much of a thing to see you have to pay to get a good photo photo it was around 5reais The cable car is not working now so if you want to try the cable car you have to wait-a-bit more It's also not easy to park
Amy H — Google review
Beautiful view in a place that could get potential to be better. We climbed to the elephant's hill using the scared cable car, I believe its was created with the city and never modernized. My husband, who is Canadian, liked the experience more than I did. He was scared but he found excited at the same time. I think that because I have already been to Campos do Jordão several times, I think at this point the city, which seems to be very rich looking at the hotels in the area and people who frequent it, should have already renovated that a long time ago and have made something much better and more attractive, as the other countries that have mountains for Ski. I think don’t need to be exactly the same, but Mount Tremblant in Quebec also has a small area up hill and its not so fancy, but little more attractive and safe. Anyway, the view is very beautiful and we can see the whole city, mountains and part of the other surrounding regions. When we get up there again, the attractions could be much more elaborate and modernized giving opportunity to locals to get better jobs, show a nicer view and give to the city, locals and visitors a better structure. I think the place with elephants is a good idea, especially for children, but they could modernize it and charge a little for the entrance to maintain the place. They also could make a kind of a little mall where people could expose their crafts making their products more attractive and a nice cafe or restaurant with a lookout ... Anyway, use a little of the American style of exposing your business, which could be better for everybody. If I had money to invest, that unfortunately is not the case at the moment, I would probably organize people and get that changed for the benefit of all city and visitors. Grade: Eli = 3, Serge = 3 Recommend: It’s worth for the Mountain View.

Waterfalls
Ducha de Prata is a popular tourist spot in Campos do Jordao, featuring man-made waterfalls and showers accessible via wooden decks. The water supply comes directly from the natural waterfalls of Ribeirao de Perdizes. Visitors can stroll along the wooden bridges, listen to the soothing sounds of the waterfall, and explore nearby souvenir stalls offering various items such as clothing, chocolates, and crafts.
Another tourist attraction in Campos de Jordão and one of the best for sure. A small waterfall with walking areas and platforms designed to get the best picture possible. Lots of small shops and restaurants around as well as tourism buses departing and arriving here. On the low side there is lack of toilets, so if you have the urge, you need to use one of the tiny ones located within the restaurants around.

This park was absolutely beautiful and worth the 40 Reis entrance fee. The gardens were all well-maintained. The views of the surrounding valleys were spectacular. It's an easy stroll through the park, and there's even a maze to navigate through. There are various plants to see and coy fish in the ponds. And there's a tree house you can visit. They have good tree house.. and nice place to take a walk with family, unfortunately every garden doesn’t really represent the country mentioned. Only Japanese garden and Chinese garden that bit represent their own country.
Anastasia K — Google review
Absolutely wonderful botanical gardens. The location is amazing, with plenty of beautiful scenery. From the treehouse to hedge maze, there is a lot to occupy half a day. I was impressed with how well it was maintained and the variety of plants. The price was reasonable for what you get to see. Also, there is a student discount if you show your student ID. Highly recommend Amantikir Park; it is a must see if you are in the area.

Here was one of the most beautiful botanical park where I have visited ever. We can identify that they respect nature. Even kid can enjoy and have fun here. In addition, we can see beautiful mountains view from here.

The prices are criminal! I know that they could offer less expensive products still being environmentally friendly. It's more important to get more money for the cause than to offer products that only rich people can afford.

Zoos & Aquariums
Nestled in the stunning coastal town of Ubatuba, the Ubatuba Aquarium is a delightful blend of indoor and outdoor experiences that showcases an impressive array of local marine life. Established by a passionate group of oceanographers in 1994, this aquarium features around 70 species across its various enclosures, including Brazil's largest saltwater tank. Visitors can marvel at fascinating creatures like crabs, octopuses, sharks, and even Magellanic penguins from Patagonia.
Amazing place. Worth every penny from the ticket. Well guided, the staff is very gentle. Lots of information about sea life.

Was surprised at the array of animals there , staff were lovely and when raining spent a couple of hours sheltering inside !
George W — Google review
I liked it, kind of fun for children. It isn't as big as other ones around the world, but fits into this environment. The most fun was the playground behind it for my kids.
Daniel G — Google review
Small but very nice and well organized, employees were respectful and knowledgeable. The sharks and penguins were the highlight of the visit but the experience was really good overall, really worth the time.
Julio R — Google review
This aquarium is an excellent opportunity to make a immersion into the beauty and miseries of the sea, this place is prepared for a huge crowd of adults and kids enjoying multiple attractions, it is recomended to buy tickets online in advance to have a quick access to the place, also check the estimated time for some scheduled activities, like feeding the penguins, so you can have the best experience possible here, very recommended
Renner P — Google review
It was smaller than I've been to other places, but close and intimate. Probably crowded I peak season, but July it was perfect. Some signs had English but not all.
Mac S — Google review
Very nice manageable size for children. We saw species we'd never seen before and there is a beautiful shell collection. The tide exhibit was fun. The petting pool was a new experience too. There's a nicely decorated cafe (we got a free coffee with a family ticket) overlooking a play area outside on the promenade. The recycling exhibit was overly sombre at the end of the tour.
Rachel C — Google review
The visit is very pleasant and the path is interesting with posters and exhibitions. The place is not very big but there are spectacular types of marine animals. I suggest to avoid peak time as it could be stressing waiting in the queue. Near the exit, you can touch a number of live examples like the star fish, pepino do mar, etc. There is a small restaurant inside, which can also serve people not in the aquarium from the side overlooking the beach.

Hiking Trails
Trilha da Pedra Redonda is a relatively easy hiking trail that starts at the end of Av. das Montanhas or can be reached from the Plato trail. It takes about an hour to complete and offers a tranquil experience through lush greenery. The trail leads to a 1990m rounded peak, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Hikers are advised to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, bring water, and apply sunscreen due to windy conditions on the rocks and intense sun exposure.

(Translated by Google) Great trail, relatively easy and very rewarding. The view at the end is stunning, and we were lucky to go on a day when the Minas Gerais side was clear and the São Paulo side was very foggy—simply incredible. Note that you need to purchase your ticket online, and there are fixed entry times. (Original) Ótima trilha, relativamente fácil e muito proveitosa. A vista no final é muito boa, e tivemos sorte de ir num dia onde o lado mineiro estava com céu limpo, e o lado paulista com muita névoa, simplesmente incrível. (Translated by Google) Without a doubt, the best trail in Monte Verde. The area is very well maintained by private initiative, with excellent upkeep, clear signage, security, and guidance before the start of the trail, making the entrance fee worthwhile. It's the most suitable option for families, especially older people and children, as the route is easy and accessible. The Platô trail, while very beautiful, is much steeper, more rugged, and longer, requiring physical preparation and extra attention. I recommend both, but each is suited to a different type of visitor and fitness level.

Mentioned on
4 lists
Transportation

Cristo Redentor de Serra Negra offers a challenging climb with approximately 8 meters of uneven stairs, making it unsuitable for those with health issues. However, the breathtaking panoramic view of the town below from the top makes it worth the effort for most visitors. The location also provides wheelchair access from the car park to Christ and features a delightful chocolate shop nearby. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful and amazing experience while taking in the spectacular views at this iconic site.
Reaching the top is not for someone who is out of shape, it could even be a health risk for those with heart health issues. There is about 8meters of stairs to climb and the stairs are not so well made as some of them are low steps and some are hi steps, this can be a problem going back down too. When you reach the top, however, you will be rewarded with a beautiful picturesque view of the town in the valley below. In my opinion it's worth the effort if your health will allow it. I really really enjoyed it and it is a memory I will savor for years to come.

Jabaquara Beach

Beach
Nature & Parks
Compact, sandy palm-fringed cove with seafood shacks & snack bars, plus rental umbrellas & chairs.
The staff are great. The manager is very accommodating. When I arrived with a Dome bike, he asked for my battery so I can charge it. Gabriel speaks English, he made sure my orders are well-taken care of. Welyngton is a great Chef. He prepared my Asinha do Frango (Buffalo Wings), one of the best I had (the sauce is very Asian which suited my taste, I am Asian). My 2-hour stay after cycling from the Ferry was worthwhile because of the quality of service this beach restaurant offers. 2 thumbs up!
Reyno A — Google review
In my opinion one of the best beaches you can reach by car on Ilhabela. Better than this would only be Castelhanos.
Francisco P — Google review
Beautiful beach in the north side of Ilhabela. Access via an unpaved road
Marcos S — Google review
Really nice beach, standing out from southern ones. Can be reached by regular cars, despite the final 4 km of dirt road. Two big paid parking areas almost by the beach. Well served with a restaurant and beach vendors. Tons of blackflies, though: make sure to take any body oil to spread, which is the only effective protection against them - insect repellents only lasts few minutes.
Eduardo O — Google review
Covered in plastic seats, no decent food options, the only one available is too expensive for what it offers. And make sure to put on repellent otherwise you get butchered by some nasty insects. Road there is pretty unaccessible too if you don't have a 4×4. Not worth it.
Daniela C — Google review
Nice and beautiful beach, the way to get there isn't easy, though. Also, on rainy days, it requests special attention and it wouldn't be recommendable for drivers without experience
Yuri D — Google review
Really beautiful beach! Less crowded than some of the others. Worth a visit, even with the sand flies. The road is more easily acessible than I was expecting.

Accessed by boat or trail, this stunning, remote beach is known for water sports & panoramic views.
It was very beautiful, with more strong waves. Quick Tip: Carry Citroilha for those insects.
Nishant B — Google review
Beautiful beach on top Of an island called Ilhabela. However, beware that there are highly infectious mosquitoes by the name of barrachudos that might end with the paradise
Sofía O — Google review
An overrated and oversold beach. It is not worth the challenging and expensive trip in an SUV. It is just ordinary. Has millions of flies and bugs that can resist repellents. The sea is not swimmable.
Esra K — Google review
Jeep tour, sightseeing, swimming, caipirinhas, picanhas, boat tour. So nice, not bothered by the little mosquitos!
Cees S — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever see!
Francisco P — Google review
This is a wonderful beach. Beautiful views and plenty of places to relax. There was also numerous restaurant options. Towards the South end of the beach there is a great overlook perfect for pictures. My wife and I especially enjoyed renting body boards and enjoying the large waves. This will be the highlight of our trip and made us feel like kids again.
Lucas K — Google review
So beautiful but BRING INSECT REPELLENT AND REAPPLY OFTEN. I was bitten over 50 times (honestly I counted) in the 15 minutes between swimming and eating when I reapplied repellent. All of the group had allergic reactions and were ill. It's incredibly beautiful and fun to swim and explore but be careful of the swarming mosquitoes.

Moinho Povos Unidos, located in Holambra, is a Dutch-design windmill and museum that has become one of the top attractions in the area since its opening in 2008. The windmill features 39-foot blades and offers visitors the opportunity to explore its 10 floors, including a viewing deck with stunning panoramic views. Surrounding the windmill is a spacious park where various exhibitions and fairs are held, adding to the overall experience.
Such a beautiful touristic place from Holambra, must be visited, on or off season it is always a beautiful place, a piece of Netherland in Brazil, a lot of flowers and plants, beautiful architecture and easy access

What beautiful place to visit and spend some time enjoying the natural beauty and the rich traditional architecture the place provides you with. It makes you feel like never leaving the place and better yet, everything was free. Plus you leave with some awesome pics to post on your social media. I 100% recommend visiting this place at least once. Sadly, it was closed during my visit.

Such an interesting construction. You will have the chance to see how traditional mills work on the inside and, at the same time, have a great view of Holambra.
Thiago B — Google review
Cute place to visit. Such a unique feel and the architecture is very different than the other parts of Brazil we saw. The windmill spins on top and we were fortunate to see it happen. Quiet place to spend a couple of hours. I believe there are shops there that open but we came at a time they were closed.

The area also offers a variety of bars and restaurants nearby. Additionally, Maresias Beach is separated from Pauba by a small hill, with the crossing offering scenic views along the way.

What I liked: - the town and the beach looked reasonably not too crowded, allowing us to find easily space for ourselves on the beach and at the restaurant What I did not like: - the town is in fact just a short road with some bars and restaurants, but there is not a real attraction to visit after the beach.
Andrea R — Google review
Nice beach with some structure and some beach-facing things like restaurants. > Traffic to arrive may be terrible, so pay attention to the period you're visiting. Going on off-season periods is better. > It's not the cleanest beach, but water is good enough for swimming. > You will need to consume (eat or drink) to rent the umbrella and chairs. When I went there it was BRL30 consumption per person. > In comparison to other local beaches, I felt very safe in there. People were friendly and never hostile in any sense.
