(Translated by Google) The Mausoleum is usually closed and if you go there without warning you will find the sign in the photo. Contact one of the numbers before going there, to be sure (it is a good walk from the town center). There is also the possibility of a visit. Gonzalo gave us a guided tour of the mausoleum and other related points in the town of Vallegrande and it was exceptional to learn the details of the assassination of Che Guevara. Recommended. Cristo de la Concordia is a massive statue of Jesus Christ located in Cochabamba, Bolivia. It can be reached by a cable car or by climbing stairs and offers stunning views from its hilltop location. Cochabamba itself is the country's fourth largest city, known for its gastronomy and as a stopover to acclimate to the high altitude before heading to La Paz.
Didn’t know there was a “Cristo” in Cochabamba, but it was modeled after the one in Rio Janeiro, and bigger than it. It is so far the second largest statue of Jesus, following the one in Poland. It is a lovely mountain that you can see the entire city. You can take a car to drive here but walking is also a great option, after ypu are filled with nice meals.

We went on a Wednesday after lunch and no one was there like 15 people max! We drove up and it’s 10 Bolivianos per car! We took advantage and also had a drink at the new restaurant up there. Bring cash and help the little kiosks! We got some ice cream and a magnet and some awesome shots of the Christ!!!
Bianca A — Google review
We took an Uber that brought us directly to the base of the Christ statue, making the trip smooth and convenient. Once we arrived and made our way up, the panoramic view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. You can see the entire city stretching out below, the surrounding mountains, and even the shimmering lake in the distance. The atmosphere at the top is peaceful, and it's a perfect spot to take photos, appreciate the scenery, and soak in the spiritual and cultural significance of the site. It's truly a must-visit experience that's worth every moment.

The Museo Arqueológico de la Universidad is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. It boasts an impressive collection of artifacts from ancient civilizations, offering a captivating journey through Cochabamba's rich past. Located on the arcaded Plaza 14 de Septiembre, the museum provides insight into the region's cultural tapestry.
Great set of pieces. Small, practical, cheap and a valuable experience.

Amazing Museum! If you go here you can get a clear glimpse of what the life looked like here in cochabamba, I had no idea that this Valley was habitable 3000 years ago... Having different cultures and traditions, different animals and different fossils that you can even find if you just go to the mountain having displayed here for everyone to an actual fair cultural price, there is gems in this museum that great museum's in other parts of the world would crave to have. But I will not give 5 stars, there is a few problems like they don't accept other forms of currency besides cash i tried to pay by qr code and in 2025 i believe is sacrilegious not update to different payment methods, the roof needs a little bit of cleaning the place was before an old bank, they did a great job making the route but there a lack of good illumination and a sense of heavy air because the lack of any sort of A.C (third world i guess?) but i am just being picky about it. I would be great if the staff would be more willing to guide you through the route giving you some extra details, unfortunately they asked if I had any question before leaving the place, they have a amazing collection of musical instruments there and a rare collection of Bolivian music from the past. Overall a great museum with a lot to analyze

So full of history and culture from prehistory to contemporary times. The ideal is to take your time and feel like a child and be curious about everything you see. With objects rich in history which give us a look at the past and allow us to interpret how to date there are practices that adapted to colonization and contemporary times. If they want to improve tourism in Cochabamba, they should improve their service and change their hours on Google Maps, since it says "open," when it isn't. September 14 Square is a captivating gem nestled in the heart of Cochabamba's historic center. This tree-lined plaza is not just a picturesque spot; it serves as a vibrant hub where history and modernity intertwine beautifully. Adorned with an ornate fountain and a column that pays tribute to independence, the square invites visitors to soak in its lively atmosphere. Here, you can sip coffee while enjoying artistic displays or simply watch the world go by amidst stunning colonial architecture.
Nice plaza. Lots of places to sit. Beautiful surrounding.

Very nice square where you can look at the fountain or feed the birds or just sit on a park finch in the sun. It's only about a block away from restaurants and there are little vendors wandering in the area if you want to grab a quick snack.

Nice clean plaza. Not so many vendors.

This is a great plaza to spend some time in. It is well cared for, has water features, statues, and is surrounded by interesting buildings. Often there is some art or music performances, political groups, or other activity going on. Many people hang around and relax, which feels nice. No wifi hot spot at the moment, but who cares with all the people watching.
Charles K — Google review
It’s look like similar with the other square but it’s not, it’s far better then the others. First of all it’s a clean, warm, not so crowded and very symmetrical and you can enjoy the historic buildings but more then that there are good places for dine in or a coffee break, art exhibitions which you can find something for you home, book stores, good pharmacies etc. As I said it’s look similar but it’s not. It’s a must if you visit Cochobamba. Go for it you’ll not regret it !!!

Visitors can explore the noble and timeworn complex through guided tours, which offer insights into the peaceful cloister, exquisite altarpieces, and sculptures from Spanish and Potosi schools. The convent church adds to the historical charm of the place.
Beautiful convent with original murals, artwork and artefacts (amongst restorations). Enter with a guided tour - English not available so some basic Spanish understanding helps!

Joined the Spanish guided tour who introduced the place and each room. We also went to the roof top. Cost 25bs. If take photos, need another 25bs.

Nice museum, the guide was excellent, the tour very complete, unfortunately everyone touches everything deterioirating pieces of art 100's of years old and there are no "do not touch" signs, guide would encourage guests to touch pieces. They would benefit from signs indicating hours of tours and operations. KEEP OUR RELICS SAFE

Really interesting museum, recently restored. The guides are knowable and kind. Price tickets is 15 Bob for national tourists and 25 for foreigners. You can pay additional 25 Bob to be allowed to take pictures inside the convent! The tour lasts 1 hour more or less, it is in Spanish and it starts every hour more or less.

Palacio Portales

Sights & Landmarks
Palacio Portales is a stunning early-20th-century mansion in Bolivia, built by tin baron Simon Patino. The opulent structure boasts European-inspired architecture and is filled with the finest imported materials of its time, such as Carrara marble, French wood, Italian tapestries, and delicate silks. The gardens and exterior are reminiscent of Versailles, while the games room imitates Granada's Alhambra and the main hall draws inspiration from Vatican City.
A really wonderful tourist attraction. The house of Patiño is quite beautiful on the outside and inside. The gardens are small but nice to walk around. There is also a tiny teahouse towards the back of the house, it's a bit hidden away. The tour guide was very informative and patient. Overall a great experience.

Impressively decorated mansion with classical and Renaissance influences. The garden is beautiful and peaceful too
Mert K — Google review
Gorgeous buildings in serenely beautiful grounds. Everything is kept immaculately by a team of gardeners. There are signs telling you which tree it is in front of you. Wander along the gravel paths and relax on a bench or at the cafe at the rear. The main house and other ancillary buildings all have unique styles but somehow they blend beautifully. Be sure to look up to note patterns on the eaves of the main house. Not sure when the tours start as there wasn't one when I visited.

The castle, the museum and the garden are worth it! But the little tea shop Isn’t that’s the only reason I’m Giving it a 4 stars. But we enjoyed the tour our tour guide was super knowledgeable and can’t believe no one has lived in this castle. We did have to wait for an hour for the next tour so try to arrive 10-15 mins early prior to the hour mark.

This park in Cochabamba reminds me of my childhood. When I used to play with other kids near water fountains. Great place to go with your family to enjoy some early evening time
Pedro Q — Google review
A fun place to visit with friends. It's interesting during the day, and fascinating by night. That's when the true colors of the fountains show themselves with colored light shows. The largest fountain can even act as a screen and videos are projected onto it along with other laser light show patterns. It also 'dances' to the music. Kids will obviously want to walk through and get into the several fountains designed for that, and anyone regardless of age is welcome to do so. Just keep in mind that Cochabamba weather never really gets hot, and nighttime temperatures are nearly always cool to cold.

Estadio Félix Capriles.

Arenas & Stadiums
The Estadio Sudamericano Felix Capriles offers a fantastic ambiance despite Jorge Wilstermann not being the most impressive club and the football played being somewhat average. The stadium provides an enjoyable experience with affordable ticket prices, straightforward security checks, and exhilarating performances by dedicated fans known as Gurkas. While the seating could be improved, it remains a great venue for soccer matches. Moreover, recent expansion has brought in promising new facilities to enhance the overall experience at this nice area for football matches.
Great atmosphere! Even if Jorge Wilstermann is not the best club ever (and the level of the football played is rather average) it was great experience in the stadium. The prices are very low (just 20 Bs. for a normal ticket in the stands) and the security controls are pretty simple. The Gurkas are a must-see, there are some crazy fans that can sing for 90 minutes.
Tinu S — Google review
I'm a bit biased being a Wilstermann supporter, but "el Capriles" is one of the continent's hidden gems in terms of football venues. It boasts one of the more unique structures for its stands I've seen, and the approx. 40,000 seats make for a deafening atmosphere on derby days. Tickets run between 3-10 USD and are typically only available by purchase in person at ticket windows (though recent matches have seen online ticketing introduced). Food at the venue is tasty and inexpensive and the fans are friendly if a little rowdy in the Curva Sud, where the Gurka supporter's section sits.
