"The Dragon Head" This is where the famous wall ends at the sea. Most of this wall has been rebuilt but there are still some areas where they kept the original brick intact and protected. About 50rmb charge for the wall, beach side and areas around. Other activities cost a little extra but I didn't do them. Great place for taking pictures and lots of walking around. There is also a nice maze you can enjoy getting lost in. About 1.5hrs from Beijing or Tianjin on the bullet train. A day spent here should be enough.
Leo G — Google review
It's a great place to see the wisdom of building of histrionic Defence towers, walls and fortresses.
Tony C — Google review
Great to be able to see where the great wall meets the sea. Has shops and food stalls too. Expect it to be busy.
Paul T — Google review
The head of old dragon is the first gate of the Great Wall... about 20 minutes drive from Qinhuangdao (15 km) taxi will cost you about 45 RMB and the ticket 50 RMB, do not missed the first path of the Great Wall, recommend to take a jet ski to see the head of the old dragon from the sea side as well as to have a walk inside the park next to the monument. China and Greece are some of countries around the world with years of history

Great site and scenic spot. Lots of good picture spots. Cheap entrance fee of 20 RMB as of 04/2019. The beach is beautiful and the breeze from the sea refreshing. The part of the wall is rather small but there is a reconstructed garrison and village. It's easy to get there by Bus 25 (have small change ready because it's only 2 RMB and the driver does not go be change) from the train station. In Apt l it was almost empty and really nice to explore so I cannot say what it is like when packed. Worth a day trip from Beijing.

(Translated by Google) I give this place full marks! Let’s talk about the ticket price first. It’s 100 for adults in peak season, half price for students, and only 25 in off-season! It can be said to be very conscientious, and the quality is also very high, especially in the wild animal area where there are many animals. There are about 6 or 7 of each type of lions, tigers, and bears. Unlike other zoos where the animals can't move. The animals here are very active, at least they are walking around. The lion rubbed against our cage car, and a tiger came over and lay on the railway track. The sika deer are free-range, so you can get close to them, and no one charges. I also I took a photo with the sika deer. The only thing that needs to be improved is the safety issue. The wolves seem to be free-range...really won't escape? The two iron gates in the beast area actually open and close at the same time? ? ? Then there is no point in building two doors! ! !

The admission cost to the Huangyaguan Great Wall Scenic Area Ticket Selling Hall is 65RMB, with a discount of half-price for individuals over the age of 60 who possess a passport. Accommodation nearby without meals costs approximately $30 per night. The Taipingzhai village can be reached via transportation provided by Li Bo Farmhouse for 15RMB per person.
Huangyaguan Great Wall is located in Jizhou District, Tianjin, China. It is a very nice Ming Dynasty Great Wall in China. The surrounding area has a nice scenic view covered by a green forest.
Charitha U — Google review
Very good experience from the great wall of China, in my opinion, much better than the mainstream one in Beijing. But also much more walking up and down hill, it's around 2.3 km. But really recommend to take the shuttle bus to the other side of the wall that is higher and start from there. The ticket to enter cost around 70 yuan and the shuttle bus 30 yuan per person. Very empty and very good to take good photos!
Rafael V — Google review
Two hour taxi from Tianjin, worth the long drive, 100RMB gets you entry plus a bus ride one way. Then a 2-3km walk back to the main visitor center. 40 degree day made the walk hard as there are a lot of uneven steps. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes for going up and down stairs. Water and refreshments are available to purchase along the walk.

A definite must for any visitor to China. How can one miss out on a visit to one of the 7 wonders of the world? Plan and time your travels carefully to avoid the usual massive crowds of the Chinese public holidays. Coming on the off season as I've did, rewarded me the whole of Huang Ya Pass to myself this wonderful chilly (-5C) day. Allowing me to take in the sight as well as take photographs of such breath taking pictures in peace.

Never imagine before that I would be able to come to China and even visiting this Greatwall. It was an amazing experience, the view is stunning, the air is so fresh. From center of Tianjin, it took around 2 hours by car to here Huangyaguan. I recommend to come here in the early morning around 9am, It won't be so crowded at this hour. September or October is perfect to go here, not too cold. The wall is well maintained, the facility quite good and clean. Anyway, there is OYO here, quite surprised me.

Entrance fee is 65RMB, over 60years old half-price, need to show passport. We stayed at Li Bo Farmhouse and they offer transportation to Taipingzhai village for 15RMB each. Go early, we got there at 8am and even the vendors is not yet open. There were no one and you get the walls to yourself. The walk from Taipingzhai to Huangyaguan pass is easier than the other way round, mostly downhill, esp the last part, took us almost 5hours with a senior citizen in thr group. In town, there is shop selling Lanzhou ramen and it was good. Accomodation nearby about 30USD per night without meals. Very small town, 20mins walk from one end to another.

Stayed here for 1 night. Very nice but the snow was not very thick. Saw some sheep there also. Keep in mind that tourist can’t book the ski village so I stayed in an apartment nearby. Also have Starbucks there :)
Elijah H — Google review
Only good for beginners, more advanced skiers should go to the ski resorts in the mountains. The equipment here is as bad as it gets, and is included in the standard entry ticket fee. If you want better equipment there are shops inside that offer rental for a price (120-200 yuan). The quality of the snow here is decent given thats its fake and the routes are well maintained. If you come during weekends expect to see crowds of people and wait times for the ski lifts can go up to 20 minutes. Price guide so you dont get scammed (in chinese yuan): <Can buy from hotels and shops nearby> Entry for the morning + afternoon - 350 Night ski - 165 <Can buy from shops outside the ski area> Ski jacket and ski pants - 30 Ski glass - 10 Ski gloves - 5 Ski helmet - 15

Good place..nice view.they have english instructor if you want to learn skiing/snow board
Krishna K — Google review
Been here twice. Slope is quite short and not for people who want to do one long continuous ski. Nanshan has a lot of magic carpet for beginners to learn and practise their skills. Snow is abit rough in the mornings and can cause people to fall. The new introduction of night ski is pretty great. Equipments are quite old and of inferior quality. Improvements can be made but overall , it’s not a bad ski resort.
Brendan N — Google review
NanShan Ski resort is only one hour drive from Beijing. We lived in Beijing between 1998 and 2015, and visited Nanshan every winter. It is perfect for kids to learn slalom or Snowboard. And me i liked going to the highest top, and doing the top slope again and again.
Jan B — Google review
Nice ski resort and home of the infamous 'Nanshan Open', the longest running snowboard contest in China, happening every year in January. If you happen to be there around mid January, you shouldn't miss it. If you have a chance, go to the top station, you have a great view up there over the whole resort & to Miyun town. You might even witness a wedding fireworks from up there in a distance! Another great way to go downhill is the toboggan run, but I'm not sure if its open the whole year thru. Skiing/Snowboarding is surprisingly good, since the show is very dry and the slopes are always in a good condition. Mind unexperienced skiers though :)

Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park is a large military amusement park in the Binhai New Area, featuring the retired aircraft carrier Kiev from the Russian navy. The park integrates marine military and Russian culture, offering water action shows, car shows, dance performances, and parades. Visitors can tour the aircraft carrier and explore a Russia-inspired town with various dining options.
The Chinese bought this Soviet aircraft carrier and used it for research and development before turning it into a hotel & tourist spot. You can find a fake Russian village nearby as a tourist trap
The W — Google review
I visited here 5 years ago. An old Soviet Air Craft Carrier is built as a museum, where you have chance to see how a giant ship look like. The Chinese government bought it for the purpose of building a museum, but they did not. They use it to duplicate a real warship, a real Aircraft carrier, Liaoning.
Memtimin A — Google review
Definitely worth visiting while in Tian Jin. I have never been on an aircraft carrier before, and the experience is priceless. Since it's a soviet carrier, you also find many russian themed tourist shops.
Ricky P — Google review
It's like Russia but in China! Good and entertaining water action show and the action car show with excellent performers. There are dance shows and a parade as well. The price of admission is about 220rmb(about 34 USD) per person. Some say it's a bit pricey but you get the water show, car show, dance show, a parade, the aircraft carrier tour and get to hang out in a nice Russia inspired town with lots of food to choose from. I think it's worth the trip if you happen to be in the TEDA/Tianjin area.
Leo G — Google review
I have never been on an Aircraft carrier before and this was amazing. Unfortunately they do not cater for non Chinese reading for their signage but this did not deminish the excitement of exploring such a huge vessel.
Allen C — Google review
My father served on this ship from 1984 to 1987, and seeing it again filled him with memories and pride. So much has changed over the years — parts are now closed or completely remodeled — yet walking its decks brought back the spirit of those times. It was truly a moving and unforgettable visit.

The 798 Art Zone is a former arms factory in Beijing that has been transformed into a vibrant hub for art, culture, and creativity. The area now houses artist studios, galleries, shops, and restaurants within its decommissioned factory buildings. Once a haven for struggling artists, the zone has gained international recognition and drawn in art buyers and tourists alike. Its Bauhaus architecture serves as an iconic symbol of Beijing's reinvention as a trendy cultural center.
The place is large and well-organized, with many artworks displayed. Some of them required payment for entrance. The atmosphere was nice. It was one of my favorite places during this visit.

‘A surprising art section in Beijing’ Without any expectations, I decided to visit 798 Art zone. I was positively surprised how spacious it was and how many art galleries you could find. You can feel the influence on the architecture from post war Europe in the art zone. I definitely enjoyed feeling like I was walking in Europe. The only thing to keep in mind that it is not east to reach by public transportation and it can take a long time to find a taxi!

Overall a positive experience but some areas could see some improvements. 1. Bathrooms should have more western style toilets 2. Better maps and road signage for the area district. We like the variety of shopping and exhibitions. We were a bit disappointed when some of the exhibits were closed. We did enjoy the Jingdong soap museum.

The 798 Art Zone in Beijing is a dynamic blend of art, culture, and history. Explore its industrial-chic spaces filled with galleries, studios, and cafés, offering a unique glimpse into China's thriving contemporary art scene. A must-visit for art enthusiasts!
B P — Google review
One of my favorite places to visit in Beijing! Great for one of a kind souvenirs. As a westerner, it is good to have a local along to give knowledge of many historical or popular culture references in the art. A few high end galleries exist, but mostly it is a collection of indie artist stores for jewelry, clothing, glass, carvings, pottery and myriad other items. The area is huge, so you will not see everything in a single day. Just relax and see what interests you in the stores, galleries, restaurants or in the streets. It is a lot to absorb. I had no trouble finding 798 having come by ride share and public transportation several times. Note: prices here are higher than elsewhere in Beijing, but not outrageous. Think Sanlitun.
Harold W — Google review
The entire art district spans over a really large plot of land. For those of you that may enjoy visiting galleries here, there are a very large number of galleries available. Most are free to visit so you may take the time to slowly browse the location. For those of us that are not so interested in art, there are also alot of cafe's and restaurants that you are able to visit. Furthermore, the grungy vibe that the location has, would provide a good variety of instagrammable backdrops for you to take some photos. I would give myself at least 1.5 hours here.

Fantastic performance, I recommend the first rows, we admired the whole performance from there. I wanted to make videos but I couldn't because I was just staring. They are very professional actresses and actors and acrobats who have won many awards. At the end of the performance, it is worth buying a book from them, which contains the entire performance on a DVD, or a gift box with photos and also the performance on a USB. I recommend to everyone.

Its a big theater and the decor is traditional design. Chairs are in red and jam packed. The performance waa great and very skilled. However, not really my cup of tea.
EastMeetsWest — Google review
This seemed like a tourist attraction that would be cheesy when we purchased tickets; but it actually was a magnificent showcase of talent. You won’t realize until the end just how many people are in the show; as it seems like there are many small groups who perform the different acts. The show lasts an hour and you will see high energy tricks performed by young men jumping through high hoops; or riding motorbikes while doing tricks; or young girls balancing their entire body weight using their mouths. We sat in row 3 and could see the work going into the show on the faces of the young performers. Was a fun evening out in Beijing.
Esther — Google review
Truly an incredible performance. Every act was exciting and awesome to watch. If you're travelling to Beijing this is well worth it. We went on a Thursday night and the auditorium was about 3/4 full. We had seats in the middle of the hall (just in front of the middle walkway) and they were great. Seats are wide enough but leg room is a little small if you're over 6ft.

The Chaoyang Theatre is a massive 3000 square meter theatre hall built in 1984 with both downstairs and upstairs seating which can facilitate up to 1400 spectators. The theatre specialized in acrobatic shows has also hosted Peking Opera and cross talk performances. The Theatre is located in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, China. Chaoyang meaning 'facing the sun' is home to the central business district as well as most foreign embassies. The acrobatic show was wonderful and one of the best I have ever seen. Surely it will give you a run for your money. It is a well known fact that the Chinese people excels in acrobatics and this show will prove it to you.

We’re so glad we booked it as it was fantastic, the lights, sound, story telling and choreography were all brilliant, and the flooding scene towards to end was completely unexpected in how it was done, our group were blown away. It’s no wonder why this show is often sold out!

Happy Valley in Beijing is an absolute paradise for thrill-seekers! If you love roller coasters, dizzying rides, and adrenaline-pumping attractions, this park is perfect for you. The biggest advantage? Minimal crowds and almost no queues, making your visit exceptionally enjoyable. The park is vast and thoughtfully designed – even in hot weather, it remains comfortable thanks to cooling systems and mist fans placed throughout. Food options are affordable with plenty of cafes and snack stands, and prices are noticeably lower than at other similar parks. Don’t miss the incredible live shows featuring stunning special effects and talented performers. There’s also a fantastic petting zoo where you can interact with and feed animals – ideal for families with kids! Overall, Happy Valley delivers an outstanding mix of excitement, comfort, great food, and entertainment for all ages. Highly recommended!

We chose Happy Valley over Universal Studios for a more local experience—plus, Universal is available in many places, and the Beijing one offers similar attractions to others we’ve visited. We arrived around opening time, but found that rides start operating in phases, so not everything opens right away. The park is huge, with at least one roller coaster in every zone—there is even a small zoo inside! The rides were fun but felt a bit rougher than in other parks—I started feeling dizzy after just two or three. My 11-year-old, however, was perfectly fine, so maybe I just needed more breakfast! Queues for the popular rides were short, and we managed to go on most roller coasters at least twice. There were also several shows throughout the day, though we skipped them to make the most of our time on the rides. While the merchandise isn’t as premium or recognizable as Universal’s, the park definitely offers better value for money. The only downside is the layout—there aren’t many shortcuts between zones, so we had to walk all the way back to the entrance just to reach KFC. Speaking of KFC, ordering was tricky. They don’t take counter orders or have digital kiosks; you must order via the local KFC app, which requires a local phone number. Thankfully, the manager kindly helped us order through his app and even paid first—we repaid him via Alipay. After lunch, we rented a buggy cart, which saved us tons of time and energy for the rest of the day.

If you want some adrenaline rush... this the perfect place. A lot of roller-coaster rides.. Try to plan visit in summers... couple of rides closed during winter. KFC and other fast food stalls inside. No worries about in-house food or lunch

Golden mask dynasty show was awesome. A dance drama love story of king and queen is beautifully portrayed in this show. Queen’s sacrifice to save the country and people makes it fascinating. The sound, lights, costumes, acting, dances and water flow effects are beyond words. If you visit Beijing, don’t miss this epic show.

The 天津之眼 or Tianjin Eye is a 120-meter tall Ferris wheel located above the Hai River that glows with vibrant colors at night. A ticket for one trip costs around 70 Yuan, and the wheel rotates continuously at a slow speed, taking approximately 30 to 45 minutes for one round.
It's a huge Ferris wheel that looks amazing at night. However, I'd suggest avoiding it during holidays, otherwise you'll probably be facing thousands of people lol
Mimicbug — Google review
We did not try to ride the Ferris Wheel, but its view from the riverside is nice. There are also a lot other things you can do around the area: there are food stalls along the riverside; there is an artblock nearby; and an oldtown.
Ninya Q — Google review
It is a nice point in the city. The whole city has a daily light show till 2230, just enjoy the lights.
Faraaz A — Google review
Awsome experience The view at night is absolutely stunning, but for european tourists i highlight the information that the city light shows go off at around 21:00! The view is also amazing after this time. The queue for us was pretty long (1 hour) but it worth the waiting! You have to book tickets in advance! Recommend it for everyone!
Levente L — Google review
The Tianjin Eye is an engineering marvel. It is a 120-meter-tall Ferris wheel constructed atop the Yongle Bridge over the Haihe River, making it the only one of its kind in the world! A full rotation takes about 30 minutes in one of the 48 air-conditioned,, 8 seater capsules. The ride is truly magical after sunset. The wheel itself is illuminated with a dazzling light display, and TianJin below transforms into a sparkling tapestry of gold and neon. It's my favorite spot for photography.
David L — Google review
Very beautiful especially at night. It is supposed to be the biggest Ferris wheel over the bridge in the whole world. It costs $10 USD to take it. It moves slowly and you can see nearby landscapes once above. The waiting line is very short off season. The ride takes 45 minutes. It looks a lot nicer at night than during the day.

Huge Ferris wheel that is temperature controlled Not busy during the day
James B — Google review
I visited this giant wheel during my weekend trip to Tianjin. You have to buy a ticket costing 70 Yuan for one trip. The wheel keeps on rotating with slow speed all the time and you need to get in quickly. It takes around 30 to 45 mins for one round. The city view from the top of the wheel is spectacular. Overall design and location of this world's 4th largest wheel is a true masterpiece. The wheel design is like an inverted bicycle wheel. In the evening you can see a pink colored image of the giant wheel in the river from bridge when whole of the Tianjin is illuminated with luminaries.

Home inn Plus Railway Station Italian Style Street offers a comfortable and clean stay with 5-star service. The rooms are equipped with essential items and the Italian-style street provides a picturesque setting, especially at night. While check-in procedures may be lengthy for foreigners, the location is convenient, just a 15-minute walk from the train station with plenty of dining options nearby. It's recommended to take a cruise to fully appreciate the beauty of this European-inspired destination.
5 stars service, each room provided all the essentials items like tea bags, water, the mini soap has rose petal, and the 2 in 1 (shower+shampoo) washing gel smelled nice. Con: Check in procedure was long for foreigner, they were not familiar with the passport thing. Pro: Clean and comfortable room. Great location, 15mins walk from the train station, many restaurants available downstairs. We have flight at night, but need to check out before noon, but we’re welcome to stay in the lobby, and beverage is available downstairs, they also provide desktop computers. The Tianjin Museum is a sleek building housing a large and diverse collection of Chinese artifacts and art, many of which are related to the city of Tianjin. It offers an in-depth look into the history of Tianjin, including its transformation into a cosmopolitan city and its past involvement in events such as the Opium Wars. The museum's unique architectural structure resembles that of a swan spreading its wings, adding to its allure.
Tianjin Museum is by far the largest museum of such kind in China. It is more than hundred years old as it started its journey in 1908. The museum is five storied, plus one basement. It has a cafetaria, as well as a nice souvenir shop. The middle area, where there is a staircase, is huge and gives a bold public character to the building. There is a huge courtyard in front of the museum. It now houses relucs, artworks, artifacts to show the rich culture, heritage and history of Tianjin region.

This was an awesome trip. The bus ride from Gu'An alone was worth the price of admission. Authentic rural China experience. I was the only Westerner on the whole lake. Stone arch bridge thought to have been completed in 605 AD, featuring carved dragons & flowers.
There is a nice park surrounding this Great Stone Bridge. This is the world's oldest open-spandrel segmental arch bridge of stone construction.

(Translated by Google) The restoration of this bridge is a disaster in the history of ancient building protection. Not a single part of the old bridge was demolished, and the bright new bridge was built from the ground up. It can be said that today's Zhaozhou Bridge has only one connection with the original monument: the original site. This kind of repair/reconstruction thinking is simply a fool's level catastrophe. After the restoration that year, it was also criticized by academic circles, and lessons were learned from this and established that the restoration of historical monuments should follow the principle of "restoring the old as before". Here are some hand-drawn structural drawings and photos taken by Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin during their inspection in the 1940s as a token of their respect.

the shows give kids direct impression of people daily life in Song dynasty. the park at night is pretty impressive, ang it is cool to visit too, I mean the temperature itself in a summer day. :-)

It's a park that built based on classical Chinese painting "Qingming Shang He Tu" or in english "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" which captures the daily life of people and the landscape of the northern song dynasty capital city, bianjiang (now:kaifeng). The buildings, bridges, city walls and docks in the park are made exactly the same as in the painting. You can find that the workers and staff there are also wear clothes and accessories like they're one of the song dynasty's people. If you want to dress like them, the park also have some stall that rent out dresses and clothes for man, woman and kids. They also offer photo service if you wanted to take some picture wearing that clothes. The park also provides many interesting shows that can be watched for free, such as a story about one of the famous hero in Chinese history, Yue Fei. If you want to watch the show, please pay attention to the show schedule and don't be late, because they will close the gate when the performance starts. Overall, this park is very interesting and worth to go. But unfortunately, when I went there, it was a foggy day..so I couldn't enjoy the park to the fullest.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful and lots to explore. The Vietnamese name is Van Dai Mountain. This is not a big mountain, but if you explore it, you will see many interesting things. - Just arriving at the bridge into the mountain, looking down from the bridge, you can see a fault like a miniature Grand Canyon, not as deep, not as wide, but the narrow ravine looks more beautiful. - There is a glass bridge, but this tour does not go there. - Walking the rough road at the bottom of the mountain is very interesting. To get to the bottom of the cliff, you need to go down, across the bottom, then up. It's just tiring, it's not hard to walk, and it's not too difficult, so trying hard to avoid skipping it would be a waste. Even the elderly are the same. - This road called the road follows the cliff. There is a section that goes along the edge of the existing rock, only adding a railing, there is a section that goes completely into the mountain to create a tunnel, and there is also a section that cuts into the rocky cliff to create a niche in the mountain, one side is a rocky mountain, the other side is an abyss. very beautiful and elaborate. Although it is not deep, not as high as the road to Vo Dang mountain, not wide enough for cars to pass, it is enough to show the great efforts of people. Below the abyss, there are wide places and narrow places with streams. If there is heavy rain, the water can quickly flood. When it's sunny, there are many places to rest and enjoy the scenery. + Many artificial bridges are mostly short, crossing streams to add interest. - The river has been blocked by a spillway, so when I went the water was gentle. The lake and dam are not large, but enough for a boat trip. This is an area worth exploring for its beautiful and somewhat rugged mountains.

A big park with enough to do for two days (the ticket is valid for 48 hours). Despite the stunning scenery it is overpriced, overdeveloped and crowded. The area around the big waterfall in particular feels like a shopping mall. For 180 yuan you only get to access a few short trails and viewing areas, so I think it is better to self drive or hire a taxi for a day to see the scenery since all of the sights are on a public road.

Henan Museum, situated in Zhengzhou, is a modern history and art museum showcasing ancient Chinese artifacts. It is one of the oldest and largest museums in China, with an impressive collection housed in a grandiose pyramid-shaped building covering 100,000 square meters. The museum features bronze and jade artifacts, pottery, and an exhibition on ancient Chinese astronomy. Its design is inspired by the mysterious Astronomical Observatory.
Absolutely great., and free. 3 floors of exhibitions with artifacts up to 10,KYO. A huge selection of artifacts and exhibits over 3 floors. It will take an afternoon. Easy to access from the metro and a short walk or a “tuk-tuk” from the station.

A place to visit to understand the history of China, mainly art pieces. Encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, and remember to bring ID (for local) and passport (for foreigners). I believe you need whole day to view all art pieces, and we only managed to view the key ones within 2.5 hrs.

Excellent museum with loads of artifacts and information on history of Henan which is also very much history of China from its beginning. Information is available also in English. Tickets are free but must be reserved on website. Bring your passport. Reserve several hours for a visit. Definitely worth your time.

This museum focuses on ancient dynasties from the central plain which gives information on early China civilization. Free entrance. Friendly museum staff is there to help for those using passport for registration. Those who likes history will take more than 3 hours.

Epic museum. Reserve a ticket via WeChat (select from 9-12pm or 12-4pm entry time slots; max 8,000 visitors per session). Both english and Chinese audio guides are available for ¥30 but are operated by different companies, so be careful which one you purchase. The Chinese guide is quite comprehensive (you can punch in the ###) but the english guide is lame (~40 1-2min explanations that are heavily accented).

Very good museum especially for China history buffs. Entrance is free but advance booking/ reservation is required from their WeChat account.

Amazing museum in Zhengzhou, Henan. There was way more pieces than I imagined there would be, spanning thousands of years across multiple dynastic periods. I highly recommend a visit here if you come to Henan!

It is free to visit but closed every Monday. There is a high rise building which is too close to it and blocks the view. The close by area are good for shopping. Once the signature building of Zhengzhou but now it’s not so.

It‘s free to visit but you need to show your ID. I thought there‘s a viewpoint on the top floor but it was closed. Only exhibition and stores inside.

Sights & Landmarks
Shaolin Temple, located in Henan Province, China, is a renowned Buddhist temple known as the birthplace of kung fu and home to hundreds of ancient pagodas. The historic Dengfeng monuments at The Center of Heaven and Earth consist of 11 outstanding architectural compounds from various dynasties. The site contains 367 buildings constructed over different periods, showcasing a mix of brick and stone buildings as well as wooden-structure buildings.
It's an old temple in the mountain area. It's located inside the large area. I needed to jump onto some electric car because from different attractions it was quite far away. There were many people there. Before entering the temple, I watched the performance of the young monks. It was quite interesting. The temple was nice and quiet enough for people to pray and learn about the history and architecture of the temple.

You will not see the images of monks practicing martial arts as you expect. Now Shaolin Temple is just a temple. This area is quite large so if you do not have time, you can buy a tram ticket to go quickly. At some times of the day, outside the gate, there are martial arts students performing. Need to buy ticket

Visiting the Shaolin Temple in Zhengzhou was an incredible experience. The place has such a powerful energy — you can actually feel the history and tradition in the air. The temple itself is stunning, surrounded by beautiful mountains and greenery that make the whole area feel calm and refreshing. The climate was just perfect when I visited, adding to the peaceful vibe. Every corner of the temple has something to admire — from the ancient statues and carvings to the monks practicing kung fu with absolute discipline and grace. Watching them train was mesmerizing; it’s not just a performance, it’s a way of life deeply rooted in their culture. It’s truly amazing how the temple combines spirituality, martial arts, and history all in one place. I’d definitely recommend visiting if you ever get the chance — it’s a place that leaves you inspired and full of awe.

Too much crowed, too much commercial..we were dreaming to see real quite place where the guys are living and training, to feel the history and old golden traditions, but found only a lot of shops, street food restaurants and show - all just for tourists, that’s why we were really disappointed ☹️ price for the tickets are so expensive for that. Honestly it’s a tourist trap, don’t recommend unfortunately

By far the highlight of our China tour. It's amazing to hear the history of the Shaolin temple, see a demonstration, but most of all, travel up the cable car up the mountain to see the Temple of Heaven and walk along a towering cliff face.

Well worth a visit. Steeped in history. Worth hiring an English speaking guide. Approximately 300RMB. To get here hire a Didi for around 150RMB, and slightly more getting back. Buy tickets when you get there 80 RMB. Includes kung fu show.

My wife had the opportunity to visit the fabled temple, located at the foot of Mount Song birthed about 495 a.d. and home of Chan ("zen") buddhism and ethical martial arts ("wu de"), courtesy of Bodhidharma. She tells me it's quite commercial now given publicity and Unesco cultural status in recent times.

A must-visit if you're in Zhengzhou! The long travel time is worth it—this legendary temple, famous from Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies, was even more impressive in real life. As a fan since childhood, seeing it firsthand was unforgettable. We booked a private tour, which included a Kung Fu lesson and an incredible live performance. The martial arts showcase was the highlight—so powerful and precise! Highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in Chinese culture or Kung Fu. Truly a dream come true for martial arts lovers! **5/5 stars**—don’t miss it!

Sights & Landmarks
Nestled on the ancient city wall of Yueyang in Hunan Province, Yueyang Tower is a stunning historical landmark that boasts a unique roof resembling a Chinese general's helmet adorned with yellow tiles. This iconic structure, built during the Eastern Han Dynasty, has been celebrated for centuries and is often mentioned alongside other renowned towers like Yellow Crane Tower and Tengwang Pavilion as one of Jiangnan's 'Three Famous Towers.'
Have a look. It's definitely worth it if you are in the town. Nice sunset from her could be experienced. The walk is beautiful and can be a bit crowded during summer evenings, but that's the main thing if you want to experience real-life experience in China.
