Some really interesting facts, it shows how badly both the Sendero Luminoso and the Peruvian army treated the population back then. It could be a bit more elucidating and a bit more well explained for someone who's new to the subject. I still liked it though.

It was very interesting but i highly reccomend you read about the situation beforehand on the internet for context. Maybe it's because of my limited spanish but it was kind of confusing. It's mostly anecdotes and personal stories, but it doesn't explain how it happened, or how it resolved. Again, interesting, but hard to follow unless you're peruvian and learned about it growing up.

This mirador really is a wonderful destination and is so close to Ayacucho's city center! We went early in the morning on a weekday and fortunately (in our minds) all of the tourist attractions (carnival/restaurant/event space) were closed and we basically had the place to ourselves. If you plan to walk, you definitely should prepare to go straight up various flights of stairs. There are roads along the way if you want to break up your ascent and go sideways for a bit. Also, you may want to bring something to protect you from the wind; when we went, there wasn't a cloud in the sky but it was definitely chilly. A few things that I liked were that it wasn't overly religious like a lot of other overlooks, and there were various different places to take pictures, very photo-friendly. I also appreciated that it was free!

Beautiful place which tells the story of one of the first "maestro de los retablos". It takes you through his life and successes making his art and getting recognized and rewarded for his work. They also have retablos and other pieces of souvenirs / artwork from the region for sale. Relatively small (a tour takes about 30 minutes) but very colorful. Staff is very friendly and competent. Wari was one the largest Pre inca culture, this site is still on work. but there's plenty to see. It was a nice surprise. There's also a very well conserved mummified lady on their museum. That was very awesome to see. They have very clean restroom services as well. Worth to stop by.
