Ordu cable car

Mountain cable car
Transportation
Gondola ride to a forested peak with cafes & restaurants, plus views over the city & coastline.
When we went they take 400 TL per person, even the 3 years old one. It is about 12$ which is not cheap! We wait for 10 minutes to buy the ticket and 10 minutes to get in. But it was worth it
Sarah A — Google review
It’s good to go up with a cable car to Boztepe. You can see the black sea shore and also the Ordu city view. It’s really beautiful! The round way is 25TL, one way is 15TL for one Adult. You can see a really nice view from the cable car going up and down. Not much longer waiting time. 🙂
SoYa T — Google review
Total rip-off, the cost of a roundtrip ticket is 700 lira for foreigners, seriously? Sorry, but not worth it. Turkey really has to re-think their double standards and policies. After spending 1 month in the country as a tourist I can confim that prices for foreigners are out of control in general (often much higher than Western Europe) and this is extremely annoying and unfair. No wonder that tourism industry is going down.
Georgi M — Google review
Highly recommend it to see entire city of ORDU,TURKIYE from top of high mountain . Great feeling to have a coffee or tea from top snd get a bird eye view of the city
Mr S — Google review
Must do activity! Marvellous views! Cabine is for 6 people. The hill where you're gonna climb to (Boztepe) looks like a cute touristic walking zone with some souvenir shops and restaurants. Unfortunately bikes are NOT allowed to carry :( pleeease change that
Mili D — Google review
The area is great and is a must visit for the view and the stores at the end it is really nice , however the food isn't the best in black sea area for some reason and bathrooms aren't best either which is an unfortunate thing , however the place is good it has a mosque too (try avoiding public bathroom there) the park is nice too and has a great view
Duaa H — Google review
Just awesome 😎 wooow big wow for this telfrik it moves you from amazing city side to an amazing view up there with view of city and Black Sea half by half not to forget the cafes and super nice breeze which took you out of this world!
Rose L — Google review
Everybody must take it at least once. You would understand the city much more and see some graphiti walls you didn’t advice from the ground. Cabins are very clean and well maintained. You can easily go with baby stroller aa the cabin slows down to enter and exit. Top of the mountain is also a must in Ordu and a picture at the paraglider launch ramp.

ORDU SARAY HAMAMI

Public bath
Spas & Wellness
Hammams & Turkish Baths
Ordu Saray Hamami is a historical Turkish bath that offers a unique experience steeped in tradition. While some visitors may have initial reservations due to mixed reviews, many find the ambiance inviting despite the dampness typical of such historic sites. The bath provides an opportunity for thorough scrubbing and cleansing, making it a refreshing retreat, especially during summer when the water feels pleasantly warm. Although some aspects could benefit from improved cleanliness, overall, it delivers good value for those seeking an authentic Turkish bathing experience.

Could be better and cleaner but expected for the price not bad

(Translated by Google) The hamam is new but the inside is ice cold and the bath bowl is cold. The ladies working inside don't know anything about scrubs. Don't ask for a waste of massage and scrubs. They can't do it and it's very expensive. Don't let it flow too much, they come from behind and turn off the water, it's funny but true.

(Translated by Google) I was a little hesitant about the reviews, but I still wanted to go with my friend. A Turkish bath is constantly bathed in water and humidity, and unfortunately, because it's historical, you get that damp smell, but it's a place where you can scrub yourself and wash thoroughly. I went in the summer; I don't know what it'll be like in the winter, but the water was quite warm, but the Turkish bath stone wasn't. The attention was wonderful, and they say the pool is under renovation, and they'll open it once it's finished. It would be perfect with the pool. I'm a conservative person, so privacy is very important. Men are present at every stage, but women are not, so you can rest assured. The price, 600 TL, is a bit steep in my opinion. They've just taken over the business and are working on renovating everything, so it could be a good place.

(Translated by Google) The price is high, the service is lacking, the cleaning is lacking... It's a disgraceful place that is not worth the money you pay. I went because it was at the top of Google. While all the navel stones I went to before were blazing hot, this one was cold as ice. I came with my friend on 23.10.23. They charged 150 for the entrance fee of 200 pouches. We went in and they said that the sweat that goes into the bathhouse means that we will save money. Even the water flowing from the fountain is not at the right temperature. The pool is not used. They opened the steam room because we asked for it. It's dirty and small, and since it was newly opened, the seating areas are freezing. There is dust in places full of people's skin, like a sauna. I wasn't even sure if the loincloths were clean. Anyway, while the man was waiting for the teller, the woman came. I went there anyway to have my skin peeled off, but he couldn't even press it properly. Don't go, it's a complete disappointment.

We couldn't find anyone to complain to, so they left it to the manager of the restaurant next door. They said go wherever you want and complain. I definitely do not recommend it. 5 of us came from an hour's journey and returned from the door. I have never seen a business so unserious. An absolute disgrace! Ethnographic museum
Specialty Museums
Pasaoglu Mansion & Ethnography Museum, located in the Selimiye neighborhood of Ordu, is a well-preserved example of Turkish architecture from the 19th century. The mansion was converted into an ethnographic museum in 1987 and showcases personal belongings, antique artifacts, and various rooms such as the sofa, grandma's room, diary room, guest room, bedroom and closet.
My 2nd time here. Another museum in Ordu, which located along with the Hazelnut museum in old part of the city. Entrance is free. And you can see some interesting artifacts found in archaeological sites of Unye and Fatsa. This beautiful mansion, which was built in 1896 by Pashaoglu Huseyn Efendi, contains a whole host of fascinating displays, emphasizing the famous history and life customs of the nobel family of Ottoman empire. There is also courtyard to enjoy the outdoor view of the mansion. Recommended to visit.

Nice place specially the garden which has limited yet prosious items. Small place with two floors. It is free of charge.
Hussain A — Google review
The mansion was good but there wasn't much to see in the museum. They don't let you enter the rooms so you need to appreciate the artifacts from about 3-4 meters away.

(Translated by Google) Overall, I like the interior and the concept of this museum. I recommend visiting. The downside is that there's no air conditioning. The humidity damages the artifacts inside. It's also stinky, making it difficult to navigate. Air conditioning should be installed, and the interior should be designed to prevent damage to the artifacts. Gezmenizi tavsiye ederim. Eksik şu ki klima yok. Nemden içerdeki eserler zarar görüyor. Waterfalls
Ohtamış Waterfall, situated in the village of the same name, is the largest waterfall in the Black Sea region, cascading from a height of around 30 meters. Nestled in a secluded area surrounded by small villages, it offers a serene setting for visitors. The path to reach the waterfall includes picnic areas with benches and tables just a few meters before reaching the cascade.
Two parts to this place … best to follow the track and go to bottom part. Not a crowded waterfall … good views and clean water . Recommended

Ohtamış Waterfall is a hidden gem surrounded by nature. The sound of the water, the greenery, and the cool breeze make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area. The walking path is easy and the view is worth it. Highly recommended for nature lovers!

The waterfall is placed in a deep region around small villages. A few meters before the waterfall are three desks and banks for picnicking. We've parked the car 4 kilometers away as the path was not appropriate enough for a 1.3 engine with 75 HP.

Cape Yason

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Quiet cape with a church built in 1868 & after the mythological leader Jason of the Argonauts.
Special place it’s for pics mined and relaxations you have to sit and drink some çay or coffee and enjoy the magic of nature ♥️🫶🏻
Razan M — Google review
Jason Church Situated on the jason Cape Peninsula, the church has been built in 1869 by Greeks habitants of the area. Lt is a first degree archeological and second degree SIT site. Having a small dome of three apses, light and dark stones have been used on its front. On the interior, the church has been divided into thres naves with two rows of pillars. There are two entrances, one on the South and the other on the west. With renovation efforts started by our governor Kemal Yazıcıoğlu in April 2004, the church has enriched tourism of our city.
Erol T — Google review
Flat grassy point of land surrounded by an unusual flat shelf of rock just below the surface of the water. The old church is pretty, but closed. There are some ruins but no signs to indicate what they were. There are tables and benches. It’s a nice place to come for a picnic.
Joel B — Google review
A must see when in the city of Ordu or near! For me it was a natural wonder, being in the middle of the sea but at the same time on land! Very well maintained, very clean, public picnic tables & seating are available in the place, in addition to sun bathing seats! I recommend having your swimming suits with you when you visit the place as the water will invite you to take a jump! Unfortunately I didn't see a place to change your clothes afterwards but a public bathroom is near the place.
Asma R — Google review
Must visit legendary place! It's a small cape with an old Greek church (closed) and a lighthouse. Full flat so no climbing. There are banks to sit and rest. You're gonna leave your car at the entrance and walk along the cape. You can arrange it like 20 min short overview visit or stay there for some longer time to rest or picnic. No recommended for swimming. Infrastructure like visitors centre, cafe and toilets was still under construction during our visit.
Mili D — Google review
Fascinating nature, amazing view. Splendid sea and green 💚 now, car parking available.
Tamer O — Google review
Very nice and peaceful around the area. Sit and have a çay, read and enjoy the view.
Darren T — Google review
Closed just like the archeological museum of Samsun and Trabzon 🙄! Even without the corona-crisis there is no reason for tourists to visit this whole part of the black sea region! By the way, it's just the road - the church is still in good shape and could be opened anyways...

Our visit to Barshamba Highlands was unforgettable, feeling truly like paradise on earth. The breathtaking landscapes, fresh air, and pleasant weather made the trip a wonderful and special time for all of us. We felt as if we were in Switzerland, surrounded by the stunning mountains and the beauty of nature. We had a great time exploring the mountain villages and terraced farms, enjoying the peace and calm away from the city noise. There is a lovely park suitable for cooking and picnics, where we enjoyed spending quality time together and preparing meals amidst the beautiful natural surroundings. This place left a deep impression on us, and I will definitely return many times in the future. I highly recommend everyone visit Barshamba Highlands to experience a unique blend of natural beauty and rich AYBASTI culture.

Beautiful green carpeted hills. A very vast landscape with awesome views. There is a lake that has a walkway. Can see shephards moving their herd in the distance. Road to it is great well paved. There are lots of places to eat and buy souvenirs. Fresh crisp air and very windy. Make sure to go on a clear day otherwise it'll be cloudy and you won't be able to see anything. Toilets are paid and disgusting, would be better to go to ones in the eateries. Would definitely visit again.

Çınarsu Natural Park

National reserve
Nature & Parks
The entrance fee for Çınarsu Natural Park is 25 per vehicle. This beautiful location offers a picturesque setting for picnics and swimming in the sea. The park provides shower and dressing areas, but finding an available table can be challenging if you don't arrive early. It is a great spot for camping or parking your caravan, with affordable prices and cleanliness being notable aspects. However, it should be noted that there are several stray dogs present in the area.

(Translated by Google) The mosque is one of the most beautiful examples of architecture built with the wooden stacking technique. There is no construction inscription for the mosque, and no recorded endowment charter has been found. As a result of tests conducted on wooden samples taken from the building by scientists from abroad, it was understood that the mosque was built in 1206 and the portico in front was added or repaired in 1335. The mosque was built with the wooden stacking technique, with wooden curtains extended along the wall as a single piece with wolf's throat inserts at the corners. No nails were used in the structure. Forged iron nails were used only in the connection of the pole heads to the beams and in the additions made to the rafters extending towards the portico sections in the harim section. Elm, ash and chestnut trees were used in many parts of the structure, such as the walls, poles, pole heads, beams and rafters. The planks used in the walls as a single piece are approximately 15-18 cm thick, 50-70 cm wide and approximately 12-20 m long. The wooden mosque is portable. The base of the structure is raised 60-70 cm from the ground with the help of logs placed on large stones. The depth below is opened to prevent the structure from getting air, moisture and decay. The interior ceiling decorations of the structure have faded and fallen off in places. The roof, which is slightly rounded on the north side, is a three-shouldered hipped roof and is covered with Turkish style tiles. The structure underwent a comprehensive restoration in 2007. In the harim, there are purlins, grafts on the rafters and pillars, and pencil-shaped embroidery made with root dyes on the roof boards. Excerpt from the Samsun provincial ministry of culture page... Terrible rules of the shopping mall. They put a bicycle stand to a place where there is no place to sit next to it. Me and my friend are bike packers therefore have all our belongings hanging on a bicycle. While one was shopping the other one had to stand half an hour at the sun without an ability to sit anywhere in a shade. The security guy didn’t let us to put our bicycles anywhere closer to the shop despite there were plenty of motorcycles standing next to the benches. Terrible experience ! They have water bowls for the dogs but treat people terribly! How nice!

Samsun Kent Müzesi, a museum housed in a 1902 hotel where Kamal Atatürk once stayed, offers an intriguing look into the city's history and culture. The exhibits cover various aspects of the city's past, providing visitors with a comprehensive understanding of its heritage. While most signs and explanations are in Turkish, the museum offers affordable entry at just 2 Liras and provides English audioguides upon presenting identification.
From best museums I have visited in Turkey it gives all details for samsun city

The Municipality of Samsun city informs that this museum was built in 1928 initially as a facility for railway construction workers. Over time, it served various purposes such as a football club building. In 2011, the building was restored and began to function as a city museum in order to transfer social memory to future generations to inform about the historical changing of, among other things, the life style and the history of lifestyle. The City Museum very near to the tramway station and it has a nice open cafeteria where you can rest after your visit and for very affordable prices.
