The location of the resort is excellent, close to the Ariyaman Beach. However, the overall maintenance of the property is quite poor. The swimming pool was dirty, and the mini waterfalls were surrounded by an unclean environment. The garden area also lacked proper upkeep. While the food served was decent, the dining and common areas were not well-maintained. The kids' play area had broken rides, making it unsafe and unappealing for children. On a positive note, Mr. Iyappa was very courteous and took good care of us. He even offered small gifts to our kids, which we appreciated. The pricing was reasonable, but the resort desperately needs better maintenance to match its potential and location.

After dhanushakodi, this is the most famous beach in rameshwaram. You can reach here with your car. Highly recommended. You can enjoy a meal at kadal virundhu family sea food restaurant. They serve authentic sea food. Must try their combo.

Recently visited the Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. Wonderful experience. Mesmerizing idol of Lord Murugan. Surprisingly people weren't understanding when we asked the direction to Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. It's popularly known as Solaimalai Murugan Temple. The temple is located about 25 kilometres north of Madurai, atop a hill covered with dense forests. One of the six important abodes of the deity Murugan located in Tamil Nadu, it is close to the Alagar Perumal Temple. Around 3 kms from Alagar Kovil, there's a small ghat road to the top of hill. The road is excellent. Govt free bus service is available but one needs to wait in long queues. Many people come by walking. Roadside parking available on top of the hill. Temple will be open from morning 6am to evening 6 pm. No break in between. Darshan usually takes 1-2 hrs during weekends. There's Rs. 100 quick darshan service available which takes around 30 mins.

Pazhamudhircholai, one of Lord Murugan’s Arupadai Veedu, is where Avvai Patti received wisdom from Murugan himself — about hot and cold fruits! I visited on a Sunday around 5:30 pm, there was quite a crowd, so I took the ₹100 darshan ticket. If you wait for about 30 minutes, the rush settles down and you can have a peaceful darshan. The picture gallery is lovely they even give a Murugan Valli Devasenai photo with a coin, a nice keepsake for pooja, travel, or gifting to others. The temple layout is beautiful: Vinayagar shrine comes first, Murugan with Valli and Devasenai in the center, and the Vel shrine at the end. Set on a hill, the place is cool and serene though the monkeys are plenty and a bit aggressive thanks to frequent feeding. So, guard your food and belongings! A visit here is a true delight, especially to see the ancient Kadugal and soak in the divine calm of the hills.

Small temple from the Aarupadai lot and open at all times. Vehicle parking is available on the road sides. Slightly ghat section and people will be walking all along to climb up/down. Before visiting to this temple that I was not aware about the story of how lord Vishnu played the role of brother for durga mata in her marriage...and thus temple is dedicated to brother of Durga maa that is kallazghar akka vishnu ji.. The famous kal alagar temple located in the hills of alagarmalai is quite a beautiful place to visit in Madurai. There’s a huge parking area outside the temple complex. The gopuram is tall and sculptures are well preserved. The main shrine is located 100 meters approx from the main entrance. Average waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays

The temple is truly beautiful, and the prasadham is excellent. If devotees visit, the free line moves faster than the paid one, which is convenient. The Ramanujar shrine is a peaceful spot where you can rest, and the Perumal looks stunning. A visit to Shakarathalvar is a must, but before that, make sure to stop by the Karupu Swami Kovil at the entrance—the aroma of his sandhanam is heavenly. After that, you can see Azhagar and explore the other shrines at a slow and relaxed pace, making the visit truly enjoyable. The temples maintainance was so good and kept clean.

Do not visit this place until they finish their renovation. It’s total waste of money and time. On each side of main building which is under renovation, there are two galleries. One is paid and another is either free or included in the price. Staffs at both centre were taking their mid noon nap and was not bothered to greet or say hello. All what’s on display was in a very bad state. There were lots of spelling mistakes on all the writings. Someone accountable, please have a look. This is not what a Gandhi Museum in India should look like even when it’s on renovation. Very very very disappointed and has never seen anything pathetic like this.

Didn't go there. This is always in renovation. Wase r of time. Glad that ticket cost is not so high, just ten rupees per adult and five rupees for kids. Museum renovated for ever ..this is a bad administration for all relevant departments. And it's a huge reputation damage to the City. I urge honorable district collector sir to jump in an look into this on priority.

Main museum is under renovation (it was supposed to have reopened by now), government museum is often closed depending on the day, and the only thing to see is a small exhibit on the Indian independence movement, a replica of Gandhi’s house, and a shrine that (supposedly) contains some of his ashes. Worth 30-45 minutes if you’re already in the area otherwise skip it - you can get the same information about Gandhi online quite easily. Also why is there a giant T-Rex at a Gandhi memorial? Seems a bit distasteful.

I visited this place on 17th July 2025. There was only a small gallery where you could learn about india's journey from when the britishers started colonising to the independence period.. it would take 30- 40 mins to see this gallery. A lot of history that we learned in school and more can be understood from here. In addition to this there is a small museum that was open. There is also a small memorial where Gandhijis ashes are kept. However, the main museum was closed for renovation. Based on my interaction with one staff member, it seems the closed part of the museum would re-open on 2nd October 2025. Pls check with the latest info.. i have seen many reviewers criticizing the staff working there. However, i never faced any issues and the staff were very polite.

The government museum was closed as we visited on a second Saturday. Some sections of the museum were set up on some individual buildings which we could see. Our experience was good.

There is a small bookshop near the gallery. Saw the Asthi peedam. Gandhi kutir was closed. The small museum to the left was closed. It has many historical artifacts. # Inside the gallery the staffs were watching reels with high volume. # The security in front of the small museum was very rude. As tourists we may not know everything about the museum and buildings. So if we ask something I believe they should answer politely or guide us to someone who is more informed.

A peaceful and memorable visit to Madurai Meenakshi Temple I recently visited the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and it was a beautiful experience. The temple is grand and full of history, with amazing carvings and colorful towers. At the moment, the towers are under renovation and painting work is going on, so most of them are covered. Still, the temple’s beauty and energy can be felt everywhere. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and spiritual. The darshan of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar felt very peaceful. Even though it was crowded, everything was fairly well organized. One thing to be careful about — there are a lot of people outside trying to mislead visitors, especially auto drivers and some shopkeepers. They might say there’s no cloakroom inside, but don’t believe that. There are official cloakrooms near all four temple towers where you can safely keep your slippers and mobile phones. This place is awesome. A lot of spiritual values with history. Located in between City. Market, shops, restaurant near by. Special Darshan can be available with 100 rs ticket for both temple inside the campus. Free darshan takes more time than usual. Now painting work is going on. And maybe it will six months atleast so now people not able to see it's beautiful architecture from outside. Mobile, Smart watch, earbuds etc not allowed inside temple. U can kept it in claok room with reasonable price less than 20rs accordingly. No special dress code required for this temple. Nearest junction is madurai and auto available easily or u can go by walk.

Saw about this temple online and planned for a visit during trip to tamilnadu. Temple gopuram was very captivating and you can see padmanabha swamy and Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and andal birth place. This padmanabha swamy is very clearly visible and priest explained everyone around lord Vishnu and it is very beautiful. Definitely go and take blessings. No rush, no queue, no ticket, just peaceful visit.

What an amazing temple located in the town of Srivilliputhur. The temple gopuram is one of the largest in India, truly mesmerising- The temple has three Vishnu deities- Vishnu in standing posture,one in sleeping posture and another A Narasimha diety.. This temple is about 10 minutes walk from Srivilliputhur bus stand. Went here on a weekday and this temple was not crowded. From the gopuram which we are we enter the main temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Andal temple is situated in left side of the Vishnu temple. We can take mobiles inside the Vishnu temple but mobile phones are not allowed inside Andal temple and mobiles have to be deposited at mobile keeping centres in front of Andal temple. The sculptures at Andal temple are great. Outside of temple on the road there are many shops which sell the famous Srivilliputhur palkova. Srivilliputhur does not have many hotel's or restaurants. Extremely serene, beautiful Divya Desam. Visited on Ekadeshi. Thought it would be very crowded. But to my surprise, it was not crowded. Visited early in the morning at about 8 am after driving down from Madurai.

A lush green serene place full of tranquility where one can immerse in magic of nature. The boat ride in the lake and sighting of wild animals and birds roaming freely is icing on the top. From Periyar bus stand taken to jetty and carried out boat ride. One can purchase tickets at jetty itself if done earlier online. Excellent arrangements. One can opt for green walk also. Truly mesmerizing.

The Periyar National Park was very nice and calm & very nearby to my stay. The boat ride was amazing. Our guide on the boat explained everything really well. The environment is very well maintained and preseved by the locals. It is a tourist worthy place. It was a peaceful 1.5 hours on the waters.

My visit to Periyar National Park was an amazing experience. I went bamboo rafting, took a boat safari. Rafting program includes 7 km trek into the forest and the rafting. It's lasted about an hour for one way. Although animal sightings were few, the trek and overall natural beauty made it worthwhile. If you’re hoping for more wildlife, the best time to visit is between April and May the animals will more easily spotted.

We choosed Nature walk activity at 7:30 am. It was a beautiful journey inside the forest along the lake side with a guide. While walking we heard sounds of forest crickets, singing birds, and loud noises produced by apha male langurs jumping from trees to trees. We got lucky to catch a glimpse of rare black sloth bear and spotted many wild fauna in their habitat such as Sambar deer, nilgiri tahr, giant squirrel, nilgiri langurs, forest spiders, wood peckers, hornbill and king fishers. We also spotted pugmark of a tiger which was a thrilling experience as just to know that a tiger was there on the same path of ours just a few hrs back. We booked our tickets from tourist information centre located near bamboo grove and their ticket centre in Kumily. However, one can easily book tickets online. There are lots of activities they provide like bamboo rafting, trekking, different types of walk, safari, boating and many more. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the forest as the tourism here is restricted by the forest dept of the Kerala state govt. Cafes and canteen available ✔️ Restroom 🚻 available ✔️ Highly recommended to pre-book the tickets for any of your choice of activities. We really enjoyed this journey and found this an excellent option to get digital detox through this forest tranquility.

Absolutely beautiful. Huge lake spread across few hectairs, with dence forest trees leaning by its banks. Deers, Neel Gai, grazing the grasses. Very well maintained. Visited Periyar National Park and had an amazing experience exploring the deep forest and lush greenery. The park is beautifully maintained and offers a true taste of nature and wildlife. The best time to visit is from October to February, when the weather is pleasant, cool, and the forest looks vibrant and green. We were lucky to spot elephants, deer, and several bird species during our visit — a perfect place for nature and wildlife lovers. The peaceful atmosphere and scenic beauty of the forest make it a must-visit in Kerala. Highly recommend taking the early morning Nature walk and Green walk for the best experience!

I visited this beautiful place in early June 2024. It’s a wonderful spot for a casual walk with your loved ones, offering the feeling of strolling along the edges of a mountain while being completely safe. I’d recommend avoiding school holiday periods, as heavy traffic jams during that time can eat up a lot of your day.

the place offers a great aerial view of kodiakanal, it's very near to Kodiakanal bus stop walkable distance. one can sit and enjoy snacks while watching fog. it has two entrances and remains open till 6.30 pm in the evening.

Just another place for walking. Not worth giving 50 rs entry free. There are many places in outer kodaikanal where you can enjoy such views for free. I visited around 8 am and there was no rush. This place has two entrances.

This lake is situated at a very high level from the sea. The climate is almost cool. We can enjoy it there by cycling, horse riding,pedestal boat services and beautiful flower gardens near this lake

I visited this lake and really liked the atmosphere. Boating and cycling were enjoyable, though it was quite crowded during the day. There’s also a market around the lake with souvenirs, food, and local chocolates. But for me, the best part was at night — the place becomes almost empty, and that’s when you can truly enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of nature.

Beautiful and Serene! Kodaikanal Lake is absolutely stunning! The peaceful atmosphere, cool breeze, and scenic views make it the perfect spot to relax. Boating was a wonderful experience and the surroundings are clean and well-maintained. A must-visit when in Kodaikanal!

We visited around 11:00 am. First buy a entry ticket at the parking area then wait for the forest bus to pick up and then the journey starts. Once you reach the forest you have to buy boating tickets for ride, if u don't want to ride then you can also visit surrounded areas of the lake by other ways like trekking or walking. We reached late and by the time there was no boat for the ride and the next ride was after one hour so it was not worth the ride. So we take pictures at the entry point of the lake and nearby surrounding areas.

This review focuses on the boat safari, which is located inside the National Park. The safari lasts for one and a half hours and provides an amazing opportunity to see wildlife along the lake's banks. Sightings of elephants, deer, and bison are common, making it a unique and thrilling experience. To access the boat safari, I took a bus from the city, where there is excellent paid parking available. This was very convenient for me, as I traveled from Bangalore in my own vehicle. The parking area is spacious and very safe. The ticket counter for the bus, which takes you to the starting point of the boat safari, is located at the end of the parking lot. The bus journey took about half an hour. There are various time slots available for the boat safari, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. I chose the 1:45 PM to 3:15 PM slot. All the staff involved in the management were very helpful and humble, enhancing the overall experience. After finishing the boat ride, the return bus took us back to the same parking lot, and we did not need to buy bus tickets again. I forgot to carry binoculars, but if you want to watch the wildlife closely, it's a must-have. Photography enthusiasts should definitely bring zoom cameras. I visited in October, and the weather was pleasant, making the experience even more enjoyable. Periyar Boat Safari is a must-visit for nature lovers, offering a blend of adventure and serenity.

This lake is inside the national park . The ticket price is 250 each for boat in this park and lake visit. The bus will take you from tickets counter to the park and then the ticket for boat ride. There is cafeteria and complex too. It’s an 1.5 hour boat ride and the way is too beautiful. If you are lucky then you will watch birds and animals there drinking water at the bank of the lake. Also camping and staying available there . We had morning batch boat and the views are too good .

A very good place to visit if you are in thekkady. Plan your day accordingly because there are lots of thing to do here Periyar lake boating is common here and if your are planning to do it kindly book you ticket in advance no offline ticket is possible here . We did nature walk here which was a very great experience to do. If you miss boating here you can do these other activities. You can look photos and videos for reference

It's a boat ride for 3 hours on Periyar Lake in the Periyar National Park. Upward journey takes 1.5 hrs and downward journey takes 1.5 hrs. You can find some wild animals like sambars, elephants, tigers (if you are lucky enough). You will certainly find the Sambars as they are more in number. We had found 4 cute Cubs but from a long distance, watched them on Binocular. The ticket price is ₹255 which is very reasonable price for 3 hrs ride.

Periyar is the longest river and the river with the largest discharge potential in Kerala.  It is one of the few perennial rivers in the region and provides drinking water for several major towns. The Periyar is of utmost significance to the economy of Kerala. It generates a significant proportion of Kerala's electrical power via the Idukki Dam, Mullaperiyar Dam and flows along a region of industrial and commercial activity. The river also provides water for irrigation and domestic use throughout its course besides supporting a rich fishery.  Due to these reasons, the river has been named the "Lifeline of Kerala". Mullaperiyar Dam is a masonry gravity dam on the Periyar River of Idukki district of Indian state of Kerala. It is situated 150km south east of Kochi and 200km north east of state capital city of Trivandrum. It is located 881 m (2,890 ft) above the sea level, on the Cardamom Hills of the Western Ghats in Thekkady, Idukki District of Kerala, India.

This is our third visit to this place. God has been kind to us this time- we could get very clear views of the pillar rocks. A great creation of nature. However parking of vehicles can be tricky with very limited places. There is an entry ticket of Rs 20 per adult

If you are in Kodaikanal then this is a must visit place in your list wherever you go if you didn’t find the best climate but still here you will feel the best climate. Pillars rock view point is one of the finest to click your photography skills the nature will come deep into your camera

When I visited, the skies were cloudy, so it was hard to see much, though I still got glimpses of the surrounding hills and forests. The rock pillars rise dramatically from the valley and give a sense of awe. There are small shops nearby for snacks and souvenirs, making it a nice spot for nature lovers and photographers.

Good spot for viewing the pillar rocks 🤩, There is a entry fee of 10 rupees per person. If the climate is good we can see the two rocks clearly, otherwise it will be covered in fogs. Must visit this place while going to Guna cave.

On a Saturday, the crowds were very big. On top of that, the clouds and mist were engulfing the pillar rock every now and then. ₹10 entry ticket for adults. A board read here: MR. B.S.WARD, A BRITISH CITIZEN FOUND THIS PILLAR ROCK DURING THE YEAR 1821. PILLAR ROCKS ARE THREE VERTICAL GRANITE BOULDERS, STANDING SHOULDER to shoulder AMIDST UNTOUCHED POCKETS OF DENSE RAINFORESTS. THE VERTICAL HEIGHT OF THE ROCKS IS ALMOST 122 METERS/400 FEET

Very good location but need to wait for the fog to get clear, once fog get clear you will get a wonderful view of the valley and pillar rock.

Loved the calm and cool atmosphere here. Walking among the tall pine trees felt refreshing and peaceful. We took some great photos, and the kids enjoyed running around. There were a few monkeys around, its fun to watch, but we had to be careful with snacks, but they added to the fun experience. It was a bit crowded but still a wonderful place to visit.

Try visiting this place in the morning, the patch lights can distroy the picture. So find a good place without patchy lights. Parking is decent and i found carrots with reasonable or less rate here

"Berijam lake trip" => Silent valley view point->caps fly view point->berijam lake view point-> mathiketten sholai->berijam lake. All these are inside the forest where you cannot go on your own. You can take a forest trip via forest department canter vehicle( 20 seater). Ticket per person rs 250/-. Trip duration approx 2 hrs. Trip starts from Moir point. Sufficient parking space at Moir point to park your vehicle. Be there by 0930 am to catch a first trip. No online booking. Tickets will be issued inside the vehicle. Trip starts only after all seats are full. Second option is, you can take your own vehicle after obtaining prior permission from forest dept, located in kodaikanal. Forest trip is worth taking.

Best isolated place with less tourist where it is absolutely silent , free from pollution and vehicle noise. It’s just nature and you. You can also find some wild animals and birds along the way. Only limited vehicles are allowed inside with permits issued at forest office or you can come directly buy the tickets and forest department will take you for short tour in a van with forest department personal.

Go to the other side of the lake as well. Beautiful spot near the restroom side.

It is at the end of the forest trail tour package of Kodaikanal,after silent valley, caps point and Madhikettan Shola view, you come to the Berijam Lake view' from where you get an eagle's view of the lake. The lake itself comes after further drive for one or two km. Half the lake is filled with lilies and the other half is clear. A walk around the lake, at the edge of the tiger and bison territory, is the feature of the lake. Because it is deep inside the forest it is serene but some noisy tourists disturb it by testing their decibels. Shouting nuisance should be prohibited here. Otherwise, you can spend half an hour walking and sitting on the banks of the lake.

It was an amazing experience! The Kalari martial arts performance was fantastic, especially the last 15 minutes with the fire display – truly thrilling to watch. After the show, you can also take photos with the artists, which is a nice touch. The Kathakali show was equally mind-blowing. The performance was powerful, and the singer’s voice added so much depth to the storytelling. Photos with the artists are allowed at the end here as well. Show timings: 6:00 – 7:00 PM: Kalari 7:00 – 8:00 PM: Kathakali Charges: ₹150 per person (kids free). Overall, it’s absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Thekkady!

Extremely worth seeing and understand the dance form and marshal art of Kerala. These two traditional forms were never displayed and explained better before. Hats off to the artists and participants who are so devoted and keeping these art forms alive. The centre is located in the center of Thakkady and easily accessible. Strongly Recommendation to visit this center to witness rich heritage of our country.

The venue was well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this centre to anyone interested in experiencing Kerala's traditional arts. Would definitely recommend and revisit!

The Kalari show displays amazing strength, flexibility, and discipline — the performers demonstrate real weapons, fire acts, and traditional combat techniques in an authentic arena. Visiting Elephant Junction in Thekkady was truly one of the most unique and memorable experiences of my trip to Kerala. It’s not every day that you get to be so close to these gentle giants, and the activities here are designed to let you interact with them in a safe and respectful way. The highlight for me was the elephant ride through the plantation – moving slowly on the back of such a majestic animal while surrounded by lush greenery is something I’ll never forget. But beyond rides, what makes Elephant Junction special are the experiences like feeding, bathing, and even showering with the elephants. Getting to hold a basket of fruit and watch the elephants gently take it from your hand is magical, and the playful water splashes during the bathing session are pure fun. The staff here are knowledgeable and treat the elephants with care, making sure both visitors and animals are comfortable. One Awesome lifetime experience. Haven’t ever played with an elephant this close. A professional handling came here. Affordable. So considerate and friendly staffs. Peaceful ambiance. Enjoyed a lot. Packages of all ranges available here from specific rides to full day package. The staffs were so genuine and made necessary arrangements for us. The elephant ride was like 15-20 mins and bathing and feeding elephants was around 20-25 mins. Totally had a wait time like 10 mins each. This place had a neat dress changing rooms with heater provisions and neat and clean rest rooms too. The small hut cafe was so neat and got freshly prepared food too. Great. Unforgettable experience

If you want to have a close encounter with elephants this is the place. You can have elephant ride too short though a nice experience. Since it was raining we couldn't explore other activities like elephant bathing, log lifting etc. You may be able to take pics with elephant. The mahout may expect some tips from u. It is advisable to book ur slot to avoid ques especially during holidays and peak days.Overall it was a nice experience.

Trekking through Chinnar forest is some experience we will never forget. Don’t book this one for animal sightings, but for a peaceful walk through the jungle, you can watch a variety of birds though. The first visit was a trek to Vashyappara Peak. The second visit was to stay in the Pampar log house and have a couple trekking through the forest. The bath we had in the Pampar River was so refreshing.

I recently visited Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, and it was such a refreshing experience. 🌿✨ Located on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the whole place feels untouched, raw, and very close to nature. The drive itself was scenic — hills, forests, and fresh air everywhere. Once inside, the sanctuary offered a mix of wildlife, trekking, and peaceful landscapes. I spotted deer, monkeys, peacocks, and even rare birds. Though spotting elephants and leopards depends on your luck, the thrill of waiting quietly in the forest itself is worth it. 🐒🦌🦜 What I loved most: The guided trekking experience was safe, informative, and gave us a deeper connection with the forest. The watchtowers gave a panoramic view of the entire forest and surrounding hills. The rivers and waterfalls added a calm vibe, perfect for photography and relaxation. Facilities are basic — don’t expect luxury. It’s more about experiencing nature in its raw form. Food and stay options nearby are limited, so plan accordingly. Overall, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants a break from busy life. It gives you that true forest experience is calm, wild, and unforgettable. 🌳🌊✨

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary stands out as a unique, unspoiled destination—definitely a must-do for serious nature lovers visiting Kerala. We opted for the guided wildlife trekking tour, The absolute highlight, however, was the trek up to the waterfall. The hike itself was beautiful, winding through dense, cool forest trails. When we finally arrived, the view was breathtaking.

Excellent tourist destination. Chinnar is on Kochi-Dhanushkodi National Highway. It is adjacent to the Tamil Nadu border. Chinnar is extremely good as a birding spot. You can also get some wild animals like sambar deer, barking deer, elephants, spotted deer, Malabar giant squirrel and the rare species called grizzled squirrel. There is trekking facility throughout the day. You will get tickets from the ticket counter and a guide will accompany you throughout the trekking. You can opt for a two hour trekking or a three hour trekking. You can also opt for a short walk to the watch tower. There are different kinds of accommodation arranged by the Forest Department.

Great place to visit. If you are lucky, will get animal sightings. They have trekking package and multiple stay options

It is my favorite land since 1997, and still continuing my love with Chinnar landscape and people. It is one of the best forest landscape in South India for walking safaris and jungle camp

The water body is well maintained, pollution free. there are different varieties of boat rides. Speed boat gives an awesome adventurous feel, a must try. If you lucky can see elephants and bison come to the dam territory to drink water. good place to enjoy and have fun. Tickets can be booked online which is preferable rather than buying tickets over the counter which leads to wait time.

It’s a nice scenic place with a beautiful dam surrounded by greenery. The water looks clean, and you can even enjoy boating here it costs around ₹400 for 30 minutes. There’s also horse riding available, and you can get your photos clicked with a professional camera for about ₹100 per big photo. Apart from that, there are small shops, street food stalls, and a few local items to explore. Overall, it’s a good place for a one-time visit and to spend a relaxed day outdoors.

The peaceful ambiance makes it an ideal location for relaxation and immersion in nature. This area is a paradise for nature enthusiasts, offering opportunities for boating and other water-based activities. Pedal boats, speedboats, and rowboats are available, providing an enjoyable experience for families, couples, friends, and adventure seekers alike. However, the heavy traffic in and around the dam can be a source of inconvenience. The area can become quite congested, often resulting in traffic delays. The presence of large buses navigating the single-lane road across the dam can contribute to traffic congestion, particularly during peak seasons. Nevertheless, by venturing a short distance away from the crowded areas, one can discover a peaceful atmosphere, escaping the chaos and fully appreciating the dam's scenic beauty.

Dam not big in size with free entry and small market for shopping, completed in 1953 for hydroelectricity purposes, is set amid lush mountains and dense foliage of eucalyptus trees. If you're lucky, you can see different wildlife species at Mattupetty Dam such as elephants, bison, deer and birds. You can also visit the nearby Eravikulam National Park or Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary for more wildlife spotting opportunities.

The dam itself has a narrow road with two way movement of vehicles and tourists + those visiting passing through. The parking lot is prone to puddles of water with light rain. The reservoir (lake) is picturesque, particularly when the mist is descending. There's boating for those who are interested. Is it a must-see? Perhaps a bit underwhelming for many, but you need to pass this place to visit Echo Point and other attractions further away.

Good for clicking pictures. Goodviewpointt. Boating present at the dam. We could not go inside due to traffic jams and the place was too crowded. We had a lot of time constraints, too. You can enjoy the view along the bridge. The lake is surrounded by tall trees.

Good to see a small shop selling Tea, bread omlette, maggi, tender coconut, 3tc etc at this place.. The road construction has currently hindered the beauty of the Gap road. But once over this place would return to its former glory. The small cave in the rocky slope is kept intact amidst the road work..

An exotic location with lush green all around. A perfect place to click some amazing photographs and videos. You will see a lot of shops around to get some cool stuffs like beanies, coolers, some munching options, etc. There are a handful of photographers too available, who give you a small size photo for INR.50 and large size ones for INR.100 with all accessories. Lot of traffic jam in that place and if you travel during peak season, you will find it tough to find a spot to park your vehicle.

We visited tea gardens during our trip from munnar to Thekkady. Tea garden owner charged Rs. 50/- for per person visit for that. Although it's nothing in front of scenic beauty. Must visits the tea gardens. Kalari kshetra We visited the show in the evening. It's live show of traditional warriors and their war heads. We enjoyed it very much, All the warriors performances were very wonderful and Commendable. Must visit

We spent several very interesting hours watching the process to give everyone their cup of tea! Firstly there is a film which gives the background history. The set up which is a village of workers and includes hospital, Nursery, school and housing. A job for life ! The tea gardens are all around, miles and miles of small hills covered in tea. It is a very skilful job knowing which leaf to take. We went around the factory seeing the processes involved. The staff showing us fiercely proud. At the end we had a cup of tea of course and just like theme parks the obligatory shop on the way out!

An excellent structure built by Canadian engineers. The dam which is the source of water for Kerala's largest hydro electric power station. Walking is not allowed over the dam now. We can use the buggy service to move around.

While turning to this guest house, you can see forest check point and the boating point. While proceeding further you will the Hill view park board. Proceed further to Idukki dam entry point. You have to book the tickets in advance through online. KSEB Hydel tourist website. Keep all the electronic gadgets including mobile and camera in your vehicle. There will be a security check and entry through metal detector.

Breath taking views and wonderful engineering feat... You need to book the ticket online which you can do after reaching there as well... there is also buggy (electric vehicle transport) option available if you prefer to take it rather than exploring by walk (2km)....

The pine forest with its mighty old trees was picture perfect. You should visit this place in early monsoon and late monsoon. The way the moss covers the tree trunks are something out of a fairy tale. The place has a mystic sense of beauty and adventure. The parking is wheelchair accessible but that's it. The minute you step into the forest you gotta be able to trust your legs and lungs. The climb down is easy and fun, you could go all the way down to see the creek that flows gently right beneath. But the climb back up is bound to break those sweat glands and give your lungs a run for their money. But don't let that keep you away from its beauty. As they say, the most beautiful places require the hardest climbs.

Pine valley forest as it is known and called is located on the right side the road when you are nearing Vagamon when coming from Elapara. Just after the main gate of Kerala Veterinary and Livestock University is this place. There is a paid parking place or try to park along the left side of the road while coming from Elapara. There is enough parking space on the left side of the road in front of the University campus which is greenery. The entrance fee per adult is Rs. 10/-. You have to walk 200 mtrs from the entrance to reach the pine valley. There are a lot of way side shops where you can buy home made chocolates, sweets, tea dust or tea leaves etc. I suggest buy home made chocolates only after eating a piece as most of the these chocolates are not at all sweet. Mostly good for diabetes people as it is not sweet but can be eaten with the feeling it is chocolate. Inside the pine trees campus you have to walk down the hill fully covered with pine trees and so can stay out of the sun rays and heat. Better to visit during afternoon if you are on a one day tour as it gives relief from the hot sun which you experience visiting the Vagamon meadows and Thangalpara etc. If you are visiting Vagamon on a one day tour or plan to leave Vagamon via Elapara towards the end of the day I advice to visit Pine Valley towards the end of the sightseeing as from pine valley you can leave directly to Elapara. There is a Kudumbasree Hotel at the entrance of pine valley where you can get homely food at moderate prices. Happy sightseeing

Good place to visit. Pleasant climate once we enter the forest. Steep and uneven pathway to walk. That's a small difficulty for some people. Else good place for photography. Lot of shops from entrance till forest. We can have snacks, buy things for kids and adults and much more.

one of the most famous things about the Vagamon hills is the pine forest. Vagamon Pine Forest is a region with acres occupied by magnificent Pine trees thriving in the environment on steep slopes which is very unique to the region. This man-made forest was created during the British era and today also it is standing tall and beautiful. Even at noon, when the sun is very strong, the heat of sun does not penetrate and keeps the land very cool. It is worth taking some time to relax in the middle of pine trees enjoying the cool weather

A former Tata group owned factory/museum dedicated to rich history of beginning of tea plantation era and story of bringing eucalyptus tree in the Munnar valley. Located within 10 km radius of munnar city. Must visit place if you want to know about the history of tea plantation, settlement of Tamil people in Malayalam speaking state. The stuff of bygone era beautifully preserved. Also one can witness making of ctc tea from raw tea leaves excellently demonstrated and told. Also came to know about difference of white leaves, first flush etc. Truly knowledgeable journey. There is shop also adjacent the tea factory where one can purchase tea at reasonable price of his choice.

Its location is beautiful as it is situated in the valley of tea plantation but I was not too impressed with their management. First the tickets can only be bought by cash was a bit of a hassles for us. Inside it was crowded and we were rushed in all the rooms where antiques were, later a huge crowd were given the demo which was a bit difficult to follow from distance among the crowd. I would recommend to find other private tours which we did later and it was a short group and more detailed one.

It's about 1 hour to reach there on foot from the Munnar town market like me in a muddy and gloomy rainy day, but could have been a way shorter time if it was a good sunny weather! On the way, there were only private tour cars and 🛺 auto rickshaws, which threw water splash all over me unfortunately, which i believe they didn't mean, but it was what it was. All my clothes and shoes were soaking wet reaching there and back to my hotel in the town on foot since I was already soaked. One good side is not about the tes museum, the tea plantation along was gorgeous and enjoyed breaking some time to capture the moments! The tea museum is quite small in size and just ok for one time visit, nothing special! There is a equally as big as a gift shop right next to it. One mystery thing is that I couldn't locate any toilet facility in there where i was hoping to clean up my muddy shoes, perhaps I couldn't find one.

the Eravikulam National Park would be good but the visitors are allowed only very very limited access. Secondly, There is no control on local village vehicles and both the Forest department vehicles and the local villager vehicles ply too fast which will affect the animal movement. Thirdly, we had hired a exclusive electrical vehicle for visit. wildlife sighting was limited to Lion-tailed macaque. the Vehicle driver had limited knowledge of wildlife of maybe a communication problem. Paying Rs 7500/ seemed too high, given the experience. the forest department should take care of these issues. The VR Show of Eravikulam National Park was good. The Eravikulam National Park has endangered Nilgiri Tahr, along with mammals like the Gaur, Sambar Deer, Nilgiri Langur, tiger, and leopard. The park is also a significant bird habitat, with 132 species recorded, including endemics such as the black-and-orange flycatcher and Nilgiri pipit. unlike we were not able to experience the wildlife, just the drive, most of which was lovely tea estates. A sincere request to forest department, to control vehicle speed and the noise pollution by vehicles

Brilliant place to visit if you love nature and magnificent views. A bus takes you from the entrance of the park to a quarter of the way up. After that you can walk to up to half way. It is not a long walk about 20 minutes at a slow pace. The views are magnificent and there are many springs and waterfalls along the way. I wish the path went up further and there were more different paths. It would be a hikers paradise.

A natural way and big walk. Enjoy a bit of nature. But nothing special otherwise than a walk up the hill. Could be strenuous for old or heart patients. Overall it's okay place. We didn't see any animals.

It's a beautiful place between fog and clouds. Eravikulam National Park is home of endangered species (Nilgiri Tahr) and many special species of plants and flowers!! And yes nature is mashallah❤️ But if you are going to see Nilgiri Tahr don't go, visibility of Nilgiri Tahr is very rare . So enjoy the nature don't expect anything. But yes we have seen wild elephants.

Scenic experience of nature. Just a valley view. There is a temple. That's quite and beautiful. But the view point visit not worth. Have entrance ticket ₹50.00 entry ₹30 conservation ₹20 total Rs.50 per head. No camera fee now. In the view point need to walk approx one kilometre. In way saw many plastic waste. I don't know what the conservation they meant.Ticket cost maybe change as per authority dicision. Visiting this view point need to travel very bad road. Brocken and bumby roads. And not awesome view. Not recommended. Worst of time.

Nallampattu River Point is such a peaceful and beautiful place to enjoy nature. The river view and fresh air make it a nice spot to relax. But getting here is a real struggle because the roads are in terrible condition. The water tank is also poorly maintained, and there seems to be hardly anyone taking care of the place. It’s a lovely location, but with better maintenance and proper roads, it could be so much better.

A great view when we walk through tea garden towards point. If climate is clear, more than two water falls are visible on opposite hill. A must seeing point.

Excellent view of Anamalai and idli falls opposite side which is in Kerala . The tribal hamlets in the midst of dense jungle is worthy. Surrounded by tea estates the picturesque view is stunningly panoramic. The forest officials are friendly to answer all our doubts of animals tribals and the risk they face when encountering animals.Entry Ticket is Rs.50. Tea stall in entrance have biscuits,coffee,tea,snacks,tea powder and cold lemon soda.

Nallamudi Viewpoint is a beautiful spot with some bad road leading to it, about 12km from Valparai. Opens at 9 am; could have been earlier... The small hike to the viewpoint through a tea estate is worth the 180 degree beautiful views over the valley and wooded hills.

However, the road to the viewpoint is in very poor condition, which makes the drive quite uncomfortable. Parking is also hectic, especially during weekends or holidays, as the area gets crowded and lacks proper space management. The entry fee is ₹50 per person, which feels a bit high considering the limited facilities available. Overall, it's a decent spot to visit once for the view, but the road and parking issues can make the experience less enjoyable
