Tres de Febrero Park, also known as the Palermo Woods, is a vast green space in the heart of the city. It boasts several artificial lakes where visitors can rent pedal boats and enjoy a leisurely ride on the water. The park features a poets garden adorned with busts of literary figures and an enchanting rose garden showcasing over 18,000 roses.
Super pretty park with the greenest grass I’ve ever seen in my life. Extremely well maintained. We visited in August so no flowers were in bloom but I imagine it looks incredible in the summer. There are pedalos for boat rides but it was too cold for that when we were visiting. A walk through the park was one of the most pleasant experiment a we had in Buenos Aires.

It’s one of many green areas amidst the concrete jungle of Buenos Aires. This one is very well designed. It’s notable for its Rose Garden that also doubles as a Sculpture and Sculptors Park. An attraction is lake, home to geese and their goslings as well as a few ducks. The lake also has rentals for pedal boats that’s popular to children and families.

There are so many options to enjoy the day at this park. There are boats to rent as well as bikes. There is a lot of beautiful nature to enjoy, including the many geese running around. There are food and drink vendors available as well. The park is surrounded by a walking and riding track too. There is an outdoor gym available to use.

I went, and I didn't like it much, to be honest. It was like going to an ordinary square, and nothing relevant happened—it was a bad experience. Moreover the grass is poorly maintained and the things they sell inside are a bit expensive which is quite unfortunate. Although it's open 24 hours, it's better to go on a weekend when it's hard to find parking.

Iconic spot of Buenos Aires if you like nature, gardens, and specially roses this is the place to be at. Perfect place for Instagram profile photos. If you have time for arts you can visit the Sivori arts museum for a moment of calm and inspiration. But if you like to have a ride on board of a pedal boat you can rent one at a convenient price.

Gardens or Forests of Palermo. Large area of land that brings together several plazas and parks that includes an artificial lake, Lagos de Palermo, where you can rent pedal boats for half an hour or an hour. There is a large rose garden, paths, bridges, sculptures, and lots of green. Ideal for walking, resting, feeding the ducks and take many photos. In the surroundings there are streets closed to traffic where you can rent bicycles and pedal vehicles for adults and children. There are sales of water, soft drinks and snaks and it has public toilets.

Arte culinario Jardín Japonés (Restaurante)

$$$$very expensive
Japanese restaurant
The Japanese restaurant Arte culinario Jardín Japonés offers delicious Japanese cuisine in a tranquil setting among beautiful Japanese gardens. The staff are friendly and fluent in English, ensuring you have a great experience. The sushi and dim sum here are particularly tasty, with plenty of flavour and juiciness. Although the juice can be a little too concentrated at times, it's still an amazing meal overall. I'd highly recommend coming here if you're looking for some truly fabulous Japanese food!
Peaceful restaurant overlooking the Japanese garden. It even has a robot that brings you your food. The ramen and sushi nigiri were good. Even made some friends here.
Ice W — Google review
expect a 15 to 20 minutes wait before getting a table. the restaurant and the service are nice, but to be honest i was still a bit hungry after having the main dish (Ramen).
Sofia G — Google review
The view is the best part of this place, but the rest was disappointing. We went there for lunch after visiting the Japanese Garden, expecting a nice tourist-friendly experience. The food was average at best, and the service was not good. No one spoke English, and the staff didn’t really try to help or understand, which was surprising for a place that clearly gets many tourists. I also asked if there were any discounts for garden visitors. They told me that if you reserve a table at the restaurant, you can visit the garden for free. But if you buy a ticket to the garden first, you don’t get any discount at the restaurant. That policy felt confusing and a bit unfair. In the end, the view was lovely—but everything else didn’t live up to it. The most important for the restaurant - the food and simply isn’t worth going there for.
Inna K — Google review
Extremely overrated, the food was not the best… the rice, the service super bad, so impersonal for such as high price… I was told that it was going to be more tradicional, with the culture, the way they serve it…👎 And is even worst with the robot that it taking it so un personal… It feels like an ambience that want to pack with people with such high price compared to the other restaurants that are on the zone. No recommended at all. Bad service and not the best food for such as high price.
Maritza R — Google review
It's a Japanese themed restaurant with a nice view, but far from authentic Japanese cuisine. honestly disappointed, was expecting something much better and akin to what they are representing. The building is nice, well decorated and it has direct access to the Japanese Garden (日本庭). You're received and seat by a waiter. We ordered 2 entrees which were good. The main dishes however were lacking in flavor (miso ramen in particular). The desserts were also so-so, the matcha (green tea) ice cream flavor was bland compared to the real thing, yet times more expensive. The personnel were OK but they kinda rushed everyone to eat and get out, as fast as possible. So, as I said and by the score I'm giving. It wasn't awful, it was OK, but I was expecting much better, specially for the price. I think they could really do much better and are missing on providing a more real experience.
Federico C — Google review
We were seated almost immediately, but waited for approximately 10 minutes before a server came to our table. It was extremely busy at that time of day so no worries. Food was good, but a bit pricey.
ColKorn1965 — Google review
The service is brilliant, very attentive and friendly. They even have menu’s in English which is quite handy. The food is ok but nothing more than that really. Incredible presentation but the meat was rather tough and chewy for my dish (guydon) The dessert however was great.
Eloise-_- — Google review
I really liked this restaurant. I actually went with low expectations, wondering if it would be more of a gimmick because it’s inside the Japanese garden. But the food was excellent! Everything we had was so good. If you you’re lucky, you can get a table outside!

Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires

Museums
The Malba Museum showcases contemporary and ancient Latin American art. It is located in Palermo, a neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Beautiful museum in a beautiful neighborhood. The exposition of paintings from Guillermo Kuitca (only one decade) was perfectly curated. The two amazing things. The people guarding the rooms were highly knowledgeable of the art, history, and the museum. Second, the alfajores on the second floor cafe.
Joseph Z — Google review
It's a really nice museum for modern art. They have different floors. On some they have exhibitions and on one they have the art from the museum. Depending on the exhibition it can be also nice to visit that. On the ground floor there is a shop!
Isabela — Google review
I visited this museum yesterday and I really liked it. There seems to be different exhibitions going on all year, none of them permanent, but this is great maybe if you live in Buenos Aires and visit it often. I, as an exchange student, payed half of the entry fee and so did also my mother who is recently retired. The museum has 3 floors, where ground floor counts with the museum shop, a restaurant and maybe a cinema (didn’t really catch that). Open spaces and calm clientele. Really do recommend!
Isabel M — Google review
Not free, but good value. Very interesting collection upstairs. Awesome video as part of the special exposition when I visited. The main information panels are in both Spanish and English, which was greatly appreciated. The main or lower level contains an awesome collection of Latin American Art. Not just Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Brasil, were well covered. Including many famous artists from these countries. If you're a Freda K fan, there's a couple of nice ones. Overall, highly recommended. Well done BA !!
Michael P — Google review
An excellent museum in a beautiful building with a nice cafeteria. We saw "Tercero ojo," a curated exhibition of superb Latin American works from the collection of MALBA founder Eduardo Costantini, and a temporary exhibit of Liliana Porter's work. A very pleasant and happy memory. Highly recommended.
Laszlo V — Google review
I bought the ticket online the same day and I didn’t need to wait to get in. It was a pleasant surprise to enjoy a very modern and easy museum with a very good selection of Latin-American Art from well known artists like Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera
Javier G — Google review
We enjoyed the exhibit. Especially the detailed Skull with all the different scenes made of play doh in the skull!
Shannon S — Google review
Some cool pieces but two of the three floors were closed when we went. I wish they would have highlighted that at the beginning. Went on a Monday and it was not too busy

Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

Art museum
Museums
The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes is a prominent art museum located in a neoclassical building that was once a waterworks facility. It houses one of the largest public art collections in Latin America and features an extensive array of European masterpieces from the 12th to 20th centuries, including works by Degas, Monet, and Rodin.
Excellent collection of classical paintings, including notable works by European masters. The museum also features archaeological pieces from Indigenous cultures of northern Argentina, offering valuable historical context. Contemporary art is well represented too, adding diversity to the overall experience. The only drawback is that in some rooms, the sheer number of paintings per wall makes it harder to fully appreciate each piece. Still, it’s absolutely worth a visit. The museum shops has excellent art books for sale.
Manuel U — Google review
This museum is not free. You have to pay $5,000 peso to enter. But its exhibitions include a great variety of artwork, not only fine art. I enjoyed my visit.
J ( — Google review
The museum has a very impressice and beautiful collection.. We have visited it on Saturday and it was free for visitors. Wonderful experience.
Dess F — Google review
I expected more from a national museum. The building looks impressive from the outside, but the collection inside feels surprisingly limited and a bit underwhelming for a “Museo Nacional.” There are some good pieces, but the overall experience doesn’t really match the scale or potential of the place. The backpack policy makes the visit worse than it needs to be. You’re required to wear your backpack on your front, which is uncomfortable and actually makes it easier to trip or bump into things while walking through the galleries. It feels like a rule made without thinking about basic safety or visitor comfort. Worth a short visit if you are nearby and have time, but it didn’t feel like a must-see or a world-class museum experience.
Berele — Google review
It is free to get in. The workers are very kind and the art is breathtaking. This is the nicest museum I’ve ever been in. It’s close to a very active park right next-door that has fun lies, and everyone plays soccer. You should definitely check this place out.
Izzy A — Google review
The museum’s 2nd floor hosts modern arts similar to MOMA in NYC but in smaller scales. The first floor hosts some interesting artifacts from around the world. Entry is free. Worth visiting.
Justin C — Google review
It was a wonderful surprise to find works by Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, including Monet and Cézanne. Its not big but we'll laid out.
Dr. C — Google review
Honest Frequent Traveler Review: This is a must when you are visiting BA, entrance is free and you can contribute voluntarily. Several masterpieces, open spaces and cozy ambiance. The area around the museum is also an attraction. Check the website as they have activities scheduled weekly

Recoleta Cemetery

Cemetery
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Cementerio de la Recoleta, established in 1822, is a remarkable cemetery adorned with statues and mausoleums of prominent figures such as Eva Perón. Its intricate design and architectural styles ranging from art nouveau to neo-Gothic create a captivating maze of narrow passageways lined with decaying marble statuary.
Recoleta Cemetery is an impressive cemetery and definitely worth a visit. The entry fee is quite high though, but it is a place where you can easily spend a few hours. Eva Peron is located here and fairly easy to find with all the signposts. But its one of the least impressive mauseleums given the styles and sizes of many others. Its worth doing some reading beforehand about many of the famous mausoleums, some of the sad or eerie stories. It makes discovering them more special. You will want to find: - Rufina Cambaceres - Liliana Crociati de Szaszak - Juan (David) Alleno There are also many former Presidents in this cemetery.
Warren B — Google review
A mixed bag, but more negatives than positives… ❌ Extremely overpriced unless you’re an Argentine citizen. There’s no free entry and it’s super expensive. ❌ The staff are some of the rudest least helpful people I’ve ever come across. ✅ It is an interesting place to look around, even though as a European most of the famous people were not famous to me. ❌ The state of some of the graves is disgusting, they are literally being used as rubbish dumps with empty paint cans and plastic bags dumped on top of coffins. I have no idea how they are spending the exorbitant entrance fees but it’s not on respecting the dead who are buried here.
Andy W — Google review
I love visiting cemeteries when visiting large cities, as they give great insight into the history and culture of the people. This cemetery is spectacular. I joined an English guided tour with Victoria, who was engaging and funny, recounting both the stories and the folklore that had built up around some of the mausoleum. Absolutely fascinating. A great way to spend 2-3 hours.
David S — Google review
This is a must visit spot but I recommend getting a local guide as it is all rather meaningless with proper explanations. The mausoleums are a walk through the history of Argentina and of course you can see its most famous inhabitant - Eva Peron though her mausoleum is one of the least impressive of the lot. We spent a couple of hours here with a guide that we hired at the entrance.
Dov F — Google review
We visited the Recoleta Cemetery and were truly amazed by how fascinating and beautiful it is. We had never seen anything like it before! Every tomb and monument has its own unique style, and walking through feels like exploring an open-air museum full of history and art. The atmosphere is peaceful yet impressive, and we were incredibly impressed by the details and architecture throughout. Definitely a must-see when visiting Buenos Aires!
Lg G — Google review
A really unique place and well worth a visit. It feels more like an open-air museum than a cemetery, with amazing sculptures, grand tombs, and a lot of history. Many well-known figures are buried here, and there is a mix of old and some surprisingly modern designs. Some parts are quite run down though. A few tombs have been left to crumble and look half-collapsed, which is a bit sad to see. The entry fee for foreigners is ARS 18,000 per person, which is pretty steep for Argentina. Hopefully that money is being used to help with maintenance. Still, a memorable spot and a must-see if you are in Buenos Aires.
River A — Google review
The cemetery is beautiful and the idea is great, but that there are different prices for equal humans is racist. The price for "foreigner" is 4x times higher then the normal price. Lots of construction with lots of yellow barks everywhere... Lots of rubbish in the Graves and around... Maybe someone should clean it for this entry fees. Bring lots of cash, cause they just accept cardpayment.... Which isn't progressive cause the ones from Europe don't work...
Marlon — Google review
Recoleta Cemetery is a must-visit in Buenos Aires, offering a fascinating mix of history, art, and architecture. The elaborate mausoleums and intricate sculptures make it feel like an open-air museum rather than just a cemetery. It’s the final resting place of many notable figures, including Eva Perón, which adds to its historical significance. The entrance fee is around $17, which feels a bit steep for a cemetery, but if you appreciate history and architecture, it’s worth it. The layout is like a maze, so I’d recommend using a map or joining a guided tour to fully appreciate the stories behind the tombs. Overall, it’s a unique and hauntingly beautiful place, but the high entrance fee and occasional crowds knock it down a star.

Teatro Colón, a grand theater built in 1908, is renowned for its exceptional acoustics and opulent design. It hosts classical music performances, operas, ballets, and offers tours to visitors. The French Embassy and Lavalle Street are notable landmarks nearby. Considered one of the world's top five opera houses, it has welcomed renowned artists like Maria Callas and Luciano Pavarotti.
One of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited! Walking into Teatro Colón felt like stepping into another era—so elegant and grand. The tour was fascinating and made me appreciate the history even more. A truly unforgettable highlight of Buenos Aires.

4⭐️ for the building, 5🌟 for concert performance of I Puritani, 2⭐️ for the producers who reduced a great opera to a concert 👎👎👎 Indeed it is a very very very poor decision for reducing an Opera to a concert, no matter how good the orchestra and chorus are. AT THE PRICE CHARGED, BUENOS AIRES DESERVE A FULL OPERA!!!! Janet Pratt, who sang Elvira, is an OUTSTANDING OPERA SOPRANO 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. She managed to act despite the concert setting. SHE IS ALSO VERY EMOTIVE IN HER SINGING…. WOW 👏👏👏👏👏 IT IS TOO BAD, Teatro Colon stifled / MUTED HER TALENT by this concert concept to showcase an opera…..REALLY REALLY BAD DECISION. 🏛️ Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colon is indeed one of the great opera houses in the world. .*** The building is a unique Ecclectic-Neoclassical architecture built at the turn of the 20th century. *** Acoustics is fantastic, the stage is large, the theatre is well designed. ISSUES: 👎 the boxes, meant for 4, is cramped with 6 seats 👎👎👎 the restrooms are very small, they need serious updating
A ( — Google review
Visited here as part of a guided tour. There aren’t many tours in English, and their timings didn’t suit my tight schedule, so I opted for a tour in Spanish. Although I couldn’t fully understand the narrative, I fully appreciated the stunning architecture, stained glass, statues etc. Everyone talks about the amazing acoustics, so the tour left me wanting to return to see a performance.
David S — Google review
Buenos Aires's Teatro Colón is arguably the world's most spectacular opera house, offering an experience that transcends mere performance. Stepping inside, one is immediately enveloped by the stunning, opulent architecture - a lavish blend of Baroque, Renaissance, and academic styles featuring rich velvet, gold leaf, and vibrant frescoes that transport visitors to a bygone era of grandeur. However, the true marvel lies in its legendary acoustics, scientifically proven to be among the five best globally, ensuring that every note, from the softest whisper to the most powerful crescendo, reaches the audience with flawless clarity and balance. Attending any event here, whether opera, ballet, or classical concert, is a profoundly moving cultural rite that confirms the Colón's status as a beacon of artistic excellence and historical splendor.
Alexis G — Google review
Great experience for the theater built in 1908. I do recommend the tour if you have 1 hour to spend. It's a nice mix of history and time for taking pictures of different areas of the theater. This includes going into one of the balconies as well. I suggest purchasing tickets in advance. We walked up and had to get tickets that were for 2 hours later.

Absolutely breathtaking! The Teatro Colón is one of the most beautiful theaters I’ve ever visited. I saw the ballet Onegin here, and it was a truly unforgettable experience - stunning performance, perfect acoustics, and an incredible atmosphere. The audience was so passionate and emotional - I’ve never seen anything like it in any other country. A magical evening in Buenos Aires!
Ed A — Google review
This Theatre by far stands as one of the best architecture art in the world. The theatre is even better than that of Garnier Palace, of Paris in my opinion. From seating, to classic environment, acoustics and the artistic architecture of the stage and the balconies. The sealing is another wonder and the atmosphere was amazing. I would definitely put this one as one of the best and most beautiful theatre and definitely stands as one of the top 3 theaters in the

The english guided tour is hard to book from their official online site. So my wife and I just went to the theater to try our luck second time this morning, we got our tickets over the ticket office. I had my doubt since I had been in couple of top opera houses in Vienna, but It was worth it. The internal decor is fine with baroque style since there are architect from France. The present Colón replaced an original theatre which opened in 1857. During the tour we had chance to hear female soprano rehearsal for 5 minutes which is huge bonus as I see it, then I could hear clearly pure and beautiful sound at back of the theater. I really wish I could have a chance to listen to a real opera here.

The Obelisco de Buenos Aires, a national historic monument and iconic symbol of the city, is a 67.5-meter tall landmark made from Cordoba white stone. Erected in 1936 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Buenos Aires' first foundation, it stands at the intersection of Avenida Corrientes and Avenida 9 de Julio.
(Visited in Aug. 2022) | It's an iconic landmark and probably the most famous icon of Argentina, so I had to see it in person, and I'm glad I did! was such a fun visit, and at night, the lights around it make it look especially beautiful :)

The view is great both during day and night time. We were lucky to be able to see it form the balcony of our hotel.

It’s a towering symbol of Buenos Aires. Erected in 1936, it’s a commemoration of the quadricentennial of the founding of the city. Through its short history, it has been used to express the city’s sentiments such as *** the capping of its tip with condom during one year of World AIDS Day or *** during a launch of Germany-Argentina cooperation. It’s also the site of Argentina’s Celebration of a recent World Cup Football Championship by the national team.

It is a national historic monument and icon of Buenos Aires. Located in the Plaza de la República. Erected in 1936 to commemorate the quadricentennial of the first foundation of the city. Its height is 67.5 metres (221 ft), and 63 metres (207 ft) of these are up to the initiation of the apex, which is 3.5 by 3.5 meters (11 by 11 ft). It can be seen from far away in the city. Very crowded level terrain, lots of walking though. Cafes and restaurants available. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen.

Beautiful! Now you can acess and view the city from top of the Obelisco, the entire month of November booked so I couldn't get tickets

Beautiful by day, and also by night. You can take photos in front of the BA sign, or across the road from the raised viewing platform.
Warren B — Google review
Similar in look to the Washington Monument but half its size, the 235' tall concrete and white stone Obelisco of Buenos Aires was completed in 1936. Built to commemorate the city's 400th anniversary, it was completed in only 31 days! There are viewing windows at the top with staircase access only, but it was never open to the public for some reason. An ugly chain link fence surrounds the base, erected to deter vandalism. Way back in the day, some people broke in and spilled paint from the windows at the top. OVERALL: While it's nothing but a landmark with a wasted viewing platform, photo ops are good because of two tall bushes cut to form the letters "B A" that fronts the oblisque.

Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral, with a history dating back to the early 17th century, is a significant landmark in the city. The upper galleries of the cathedral house a renowned 'Carlo Vegezzi Bossi' organ from Italy, known for its classic Ripiena tradition and romantic orchestral elements. Surrounding attractions include Barolo Palace, Cabildo, Gran Rex Theatre, and Cafe Tortoni.

While it’s history traces back to late 1500s when Jesuit friars constructed their first church using mud, wood and adobe, the present day building 3rd cathedral) was built in the late 1770s without the facade… The facade was completed in the early 1800s just before or around the independence of Argentina. As is today, this is a typical Neoclassical architecture. Simple flat lines, simple columns. Certainly none of the ostentatious decorations of the Baroque or Spanish Baroque, nor the grandeur of the Renaissance. Elegant and sturdy building nonetheless. The interior has a grand nave and aisles. High rounded ceilings. There are the typical idols as one expects from the catholic organization. This was once the seat of archbishop Bergoglio, before he was elected pope and called himself Francis. THERE ARE TWO NOTABLE FACTS about this place. 🏛️ 🏛️🏛️ this is when the remains of General San Martin lay. He is considered one of the founding fathers of Argentina who led during the May Revolution of Independence. His remains were brought from France in 1880 and placed in a mausoleum. 🎨🎨🎨 the other is a Sculpture of Barefooted Man Wrapped in Blanket on one side of the pillars near the high altar… titled “Cristo de Los Pobres”.

One of Buenos Aires’ most iconic landmarks, this building houses the tomb of the great liberator José de San Martín. Majestic in scale, its architecture stands out from other colonial cathedrals in Latin America. Inside, you’ll find touches of Latin American-style baroque decoration. You’ll likely pass by it while exploring the city, and it’s well worth taking 15–20 minutes to step inside and visit.

Stunning and such a treat to visit the Cathedral of Pope Francis while he was in Buenos Aires. However, the website isn’t clear and being so outdated, difficult to navigate on mobile phones. This made finding mass times difficult. Here is a photo of the printed list of mass times, visiting hours and confessions found outside the cathedral doors.

It is located in the city centre, overlooking Plaza de Mayo in the San Nicolás neighbourhood. It is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires and held the rank of Primatial church of Argentina from 1822 to 2024. The cathedral was declared a National Historic Monument in 1942. The Cathedral of Buenos Aires is a Latin cross building with transept and three-aisles with side chapels connected by corridors. Fair bit of walking around under shade. Popular store with tourists. Great place for photography. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Lovely interior and external craftwork.

Casa Rosada, also known as the Pink House, is a historic and iconic presidential palace located at the eastern end of Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires. Its distinctive pink color symbolizes a blend of Argentina's leading political parties. The palace has been witness to significant historical events, including speeches by Juan and Eva Peron from its balcony. Visitors can explore this grand structure and also discover nearby attractions such as Catedral Metropolitano and the Cabildo.
This is a really beautiful palace set at the end of a plaza, which itself has lovely surroundings. However the best pictures seem to be from the other side. The palace itself is a really beautiful and significant building, this palace really stands out in the city. It has some unique architectural features and really ornate front. You can get some lovely pictures when its quiet, as its set in an open area. Well worth a walk around.

It is a striking, pink presidential palace and government headquarters of Argentina, located in Buenos Aires, presiding over the historic Plaza de Mayo. Known officially as the House of Government, it serves as the official workplace for the President of Argentina and is a significant historical landmark, famous for events like Eva Perón's addresses from its balcony. It is considered one of the most emblematic buildings in Buenos Aires. Current President apparently only uses it for official functions. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Easy terrain, lot of easy walking. Fee charged for entry. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen.
S V — Google review
Housing the Presidential Offices, it’s the seat of Executive Power of Argentina. It’s an imposing palatial Italianate architecture (a spin off from Italian Renaissance) at the back end of Plaza de Mayo. 🏛️🏛️🏛️ The building (finished in late 1800s) seats on a historically important fort that was built by the Spanish crown back in the 1500s. Casa Rosada is unusual in its pink color. *** One version of the story is, the color is an attempt to neutralize colors of political parties. *** The other is a more architectural one: the original government house was painted with white combined with animal blood. Blood seals the paint to protect the building from humidity (the palace sits on a swamp area of the city). The Pink color becomes very strikingly vivid at night when the palace is very well lit. 🏛️ In front of Casa Rosada is the equestrian statue of General Belgrano, one of the leaders of May Revolution of Independence. 🏛️ at the foot of the monument is Buenos Aires’ COVID Memorial for those who succumbed to the pandemic. Names of the departed are painted or engraved on the pile of stones.

The Casa Rosada stands as the undeniable, iconic heart of Argentine political history, instantly recognizable by its distinctive, soft pink facade that dominates the eastern side of the historic Plaza de Mayo. More than just the official seat of the President, this architectural marvel - a blend of Italianate and French elements - is a powerful symbol of national governance, having been the silent witness to countless pivotal moments in the country's turbulent and fascinating narrative. Its commanding presence, especially when viewed against the backdrop of the city, evokes a sense of enduring authority and historical weight, inviting visitors to reflect on Argentina's rich democratic journey. Seeing this landmark up close provides an essential connection to the nation's identity and its public life.

On my previous trip to Buenos Aires before C-19, you were allowed to go inside. They had guided tours. I believe they have stopped this now. However, it is still worth going to see the exterior of this historical building. Throughout the history of Buenos Aires, the location of Casa Rosada was the seat of various successive political authorities who governed the country. The first thing you are likely to notice is the distinctive colour. It was from the balcony here, at the presidential palace, that Eva Perón famously addressed the throngs of impassioned supporters packed into Plaza de Mayo.

Plaza de Mayo is a historic city square that holds immense significance in Argentina's journey towards independence, named after the pivotal revolution of 1810. As the oldest square in Buenos Aires, it serves as a vibrant hub for the nation’s political and social life. The plaza is flanked by notable landmarks such as Casa Rosada, where the executive power resides; the Cabildo of Buenos Aires; and the Metropolitan Cathedral, which was once graced by Pope Francis during his time there.
It is the main city square of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was formed in 1884. The city centre of Buenos Aires, Plaza de Mayo has been the scene of the most momentous events in Argentine history, as well as the largest popular demonstrations in the country. It is located in the financial district. Several historical landmarks in the area. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Lots of people here, careful with personal belongings. Free entry. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Toilets available. Cafes and restaurants available. Great place for photography.

Plaza de Mayo is a beautiful area to explore during the day — it’s one of those places where the history and architecture really come alive. The square itself is surrounded by stunning buildings, from the Casa Rosada to the various museums and government houses, each with its own character and charm. I was pleasantly surprised that many of the nearby sites seemed open and free to enter, which made it easy to wander in and take a closer look. It’s a great spot to stroll, take photos, and soak in the mix of old-world grandeur and the energy of modern Buenos Aires.

A lovely plaza where locals protest the government in power. Also has a fitting memorial to the thousands that died of COVID. It’s very Euro like in its massive monumental architecture.

Plaza de Mayo is the most iconic and most historical square in Buenos Aires. The place is a hollowed ground of the May Revolution of Independence from Spanish Colonialism. The various structures in the plaza are many symbolisms of the life and aspirations of Argentina. These symbolisms are probably most visualized at night when the plaza is very well lit. 🏛️ The Pirámide de Mayo, whilst not the shape of a classic pyramid, is a towering symbol of freedom. The statuette of La Liberté stands atop. This is the central structure in the plaza. 🏛️ The Monumento al General Manuel Belgrano is an equestrian statue honoring one of the founding fathers of the Argentine Republic. 🏛️ The base of the Belgrano Statue is a true modern day memorial, locally known as the “Stones of Remembrance” COVID Memorial. Each stone is engraved with names of the departed from the pandemic. 🏛️🏛️🏛️🏛️🏛️ The most iconic is of course Casa Rosada, the Palace of the Offices of the President. It’s a most impressive Italianate architecture, an offspring of Italian Renaissance. Other notable buildings around the plaza. 🏛️ the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is a bit like a more expansive version of La Madeleine (Mary Magdalene Church) in Paris. It was the seat of then catholic archbishop Bergoglio years before he was elected pope. 🏛️ the Museo Nacional de Cabildo is a designated museo of Argentinian heritage. It’s one of few colonial buildings in Buenos Aires. It’s a Spanish Baroque architecture. 🏛️ Banco de Nación de Argentina (Central Bank of Argentina) is a newish building from the 1930s, replacing the old edifice. It’s a Neoclassical architecture.

Estatua de Mafalda

Visiting the Mafalda statue is a delightful experience and a must for anyone who loves Quino's iconic character. The statue is located in a charming and historic area, which adds a special touch to the visit. That said, be prepared to wait in line for a little while, especially during busy times, as many people want to take the classic photo with Mafalda. However, the wait is absolutely worth it: the moment by her side is perfect for reminiscing about the wit and charm of her comics. If you're in the city, don't miss it. Just bring some patience and a camera ready to capture the moment. A unique experience!
Javier D — Google review
My name is Bruna Moreira, founder of @verenacafe, a speciality coffee brand in Brazil. I absolutely love Mafalda! If you’re also a fan of this iconic little girl created by the Argentine cartoonist Quino, then visiting her statue in Buenos Aires is an unforgettable experience. Mafalda is not just a comic strip character; she represents an entire generation that questioned the world with humour, irony, and a lot of intelligence. You’ll find her sitting quietly on a bench in the neighbourhood of San Telmo, one of the most charming and historic districts of the city. The statue is actually quite small, only about 80cm tall, but it’s full of meaning. She’s not alone either — her friends Susanita and Manolito are also there to keep her company. The exact spot is at the corner of Chile Street and Defensa Street (Defensa 700, if you want to type it directly into Google Maps). If you’re visiting the famous San Telmo Sunday Market, you can easily walk there in less than ten minutes. A lovely curiosity: Quino, Mafalda’s creator, once lived in this very neighbourhood, so placing the statue in San Telmo is more than symbolic — it’s a tribute to the history and roots of Mafalda herself. And trust me, when you finally see her, you’ll instantly feel like you’re reconnecting with a childhood memory or a page from a comic book. As for souvenirs, San Telmo is also a great place to find Mafalda-themed items. Around the square and along Defensa Street, you’ll see small shops and stands selling mugs, magnets, notebooks, T-shirts, and even miniature statues of Mafalda. Some official stores also sell high-quality products, so if you’re a true collector, it’s worth looking for licensed merchandise. My tip? Go early or during the market day, take your time wandering around San Telmo, snap a picture with Mafalda on her bench, and then bring home a souvenir to keep this adorable character close to you. It’s a little piece of Buenos Aires and a lot of heart from Quino’s timeless creation.

Cool place to take a photo. I did the walking comic trail after, which was fun and a great way to see more of the city. Please note, that some of the sculptures have been moved, so the map is not up to date. I did make the mistake of going on Saturday and had to queue for a while (only for Mafalda). Try and go during the week instead.
Kitty — Google review
It was a newspaper comic with a social satire. In my visit was in renovation.
Hector G — Google review
They have changed the original statue for this version. Despite of this, place has constantly long lines just for a picture, mainly families. At the stores nearby we can get any kind of souvenirs and small gifts with Mafalda on them.
Ca B — Google review
My family and I went to visit the El Telmo neighborhood and the only thing we took advantage of was taking a picture with Mafalda, as the neighborhood was very empty, without stores and with several reforms. If you go during the week, I don't recommend spending your time there, as even the antiques fair was not open (if it still exists). Not to mention that the neighborhood appears to be more dangerous than the center, so don't walk alone, always go with someone and especially at the beginning of the day so you don't run the risk of returning at night.

La Bombonera, also known as the Estadio Alberto J. Armando, is a renowned soccer stadium and the home of Argentina's Boca Juniors team. Its nickname 'The Chocolate Box' comes from its unique size and shape. Visitors can take a tour of the stadium and explore the adjacent Museo de la Pasion Boquense in the vibrant La Boca neighborhood.
I recently visited La Bombonera in Buenos Aires and watched an unforgettable experience; albeit a Stadium & Museum Tour, with a fantastic guide. I can’t believe I actually stood and visited the iconic stadium, one day I will return to actually watch a football match therefore I can feel the passion of Boca Juniors fans echoing through the steep stands. One interesting fact: I was told, the stadium’s unique “flat” side was designed to maximize space in the cramped neighborhood of La Boca. Another: when the fans jump in unison, the structure actually vibrates — earning it the nickname La Bombonera no tiembla, late (“La Bombonera doesn’t shake, it BEATS”).

One of the most distinctive and iconic football stadiums in the world. The 'Chocolate Box' is instantly recognisable with it's super steep 3 tiered stands and bright colours, while keeping it's 'old school' feel. It's a must visit if in Buenos Aires, and if you made it all the way out to La Boca, you may as well do the stadium & museum tour if Boca Juniors are not playing. Make sure and buy your tickets just inside under the club crest and not from other 'vendors'. Also, do not wander too much away from the stadium or El Caminito, as it can be a bit dodgy, and especially not after dark. The tour is not only informative but the guides are fun with jokes and back stories. Every time I have visited this city, Boca have been playing away or I couldn't get a ticket, so I have yet been unable to sample the electric atmosphere these fans are famous for. When I do, it will get the 5 stars. Definitely worth the trip out here anyway - what a great club!

We visited during July vacation period in Argentina so the lines were pretty unreal. I wanted to buy my children Boca Jrs jerseys so asked to enter the store without waiting in the massive lines outside. I bought all 3 children a jersey and asked the sales associate if I could just get in line to buy stadium tour tickets, he said no problem. Stadium Tour comes with the museum experience and the opportunity to go out and sit outside on the goal side of the stadium and just absorb the atmosphere. Museum - some nice interactive pieces and not too overwhelming with too much to see and read, but at the same time gives you a feel for the tradition the club has and the part of the fabric it is of the city and neighborhood. I mostly enjoyed the chance to go out and sit in the goal end of the stadium while we waited. Tour - it was nice to hear a bit about the history of the club and absorb the atmosphere. On the tour you are able to: go in a few tunnels where only employees are allowed, sit in the famous side of the Chocolate Box stand and listen to the guide share some history, go to the other goal side and stand on the pitch behind the goal, visit the visiting locker room, see the press room and then see an entrance where there is a nice painting depicting the club’s history. Missing from the tour (which I first took 20 years ago) was a visit to the Home Team’s locker room, that was a bit of a bummer not to see. Overall worth the time and money, especially if you are taking the time to come to the neighborhood. Don’t miss the opportunity to take home something from the store as they have many items you won’t be able to find if you live outside of the country.

República de los Niños is an expansive indoor and outdoor park in Argentina, featuring 35 kid-sized buildings such as a train and fire station. The park offers a beautiful and vast area for walking and relaxation under the trees. While some visitors find the atmosphere enchanting, others feel that the maintenance of the buildings could be improved. Additionally, there are mentions of inconveniences such as limited payment options, mosquito invasions during certain seasons, and crowded entrances.
Free to enter! It's like Disneyland, but without the lawyer infested Disney stuff. The first area is very good, with some great places for food and slushies. Big portions of food. The only downside is that the airplane simulator was absolute garbage. I paid good money to go in a box that shows low quality drone footage stitched together of the park. It's like looking at a 240p video on YouTube from 2006.

(Translated by Google) LET'S VOTE: DO WE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS? Did any of the Candidates explain to us their government plan, which is the study of national realities in all areas? With what tools and measures can we reach an initial solution to the problems and internal conflicts that we experience, in order to improve reality in the shortest possible time. Are the necessary measures to be implemented feasible, is there solid knowledge of the state of public affairs, of concrete national facts and realities, can we classify it as qualified and truthful knowledge or information? Everything stated in a synthetic way is the logical basis of having an idea of achievable promises, or of pure empty talk of only promises to deceive the voter, REMEMBER: IF I HAD SAID IT YOU WOULD NOT VOTE FOR ME Knowing these plans, we can ask ourselves if the general national action decisions encompass the problems to be solved? That is to say, they told me what action plan they have to: Improve personal and Legal Security, what improvements they think for education, how they will face the challenges of changing industrial strategies and in the field of health to truly insert ourselves into the 21st century and not keep promising utopias What plan to generate work and development do they present, what will happen to workers' associations that do not accompany the paradigm shift and how will they combat poverty and the drug state, among other issues? The above is not a capricious issue, it represents nothing more than what is developed within the preamble of the national constitution and its articles. It is the true Argentine National Doctrine, which the rulers are obliged to follow When you listen to the candidate, reflect: Ask yourself: What are you going to do and how? Do I share the Diagnoses you expose? Does the diagnosis contemplate the reality of every day that I and my peers have to live? Are your proposals feasible, or are they promises in the air? Is the security panorama that you describe what I and my neighbors experience every day? Are the solutions you propose what I am looking for? This candidate only knows how to talk about the past of his government or remembering dreams from long ago without seeing that everything has changed, and he does not make any concrete current proposals? Has this political group changed? Or does he lie so that we believe that he changed, that I already voted for him and he deceived me, he said one thing and did another different thing? Finally, is he and his cabinet honest? Won't they steal again? Will they respect the judicial rulings or will they settle everything with the addicted judges as always, and will they remain hidden and protected by the jurisdictions? Do I think they have the capacity and credibility to develop the country and create jobs or are they still stuck with old plans? Ask yourself: Socially: Do you know the collective and particular needs of the different areas of the country? Economically: Can it improve us and take us out of anxiety, does it propose objectives that provide hope for a way out of the situation? Technologically: Are you really talking about modernization, development and research, or is it the same to make candy than steel, or medicines? Ecologically: Do the proposals tend to conserve natural resources and keep the ecosystem protected, or will they continue to allow toxic waste from mining companies to continue destroying water in the provinces? Politically: Is his speech credible or is he a messianic leader who: follow me, I won't follow you...? and then bye Will I see those who robbed the people imprisoned, will there be nonpartisan and ethical justice action or will corruption continue? There are more things that you know and see daily. Government programs must be based on meaningful information and respond to the reality of the city in which you live. The solutions come hand in hand with the correct approach followed by action to develop strategies appropriate to those objectives to get out of this state of morass and ineffectiveness that the country finds itself in. You are the one who chooses the future of your children: Live like in Venezuela or Germany, your vote decides it (Original) VAMOS A VOTAR: ¿SABEMOS ALGO DE ESTO? No volverán a robar?

(Translated by Google) La Plata City Hall is the executive seat of government for the city of La Plata, capital of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina Governor Dardo Rocha's proposal for the establishment of a new capital for the supreme province of Buenos Aires, useful for appeasing the province's independence-leaning gentry, was quickly approved by the Argentine Congress after the federalization of Buenos Aires in 1880. Following the construction frenzy, Rocha inaugurated the city of La Plata on November 19, 1882, creating the first planned city in South America and the first with electric lighting. Planned by Pedro Benoit, La Plata's diagonal streets would be anchored by a central plaza, named after First Junta statesman Mariano Moreno. Moreno Square is dominated to the south by the Neo-Gothic Cathedral, designed by Benoit and Ernesto Meyer, and to the north by the City Hall, designed by Meyer and the German architect Hubert Stier (who created the Hannover and Bremen railway terminals, among other important works). Construction on the project began in June 1883 and was completed in 1888. The 14,400 m 2 (155,000 ft 2) building, an eclectic design based on German Renaissance architecture, features Romanesque interiors, including two courtyards, City Hall chambers, and the Salón Dorado ("Golden Room"), a formal reception hall accessed by a grand marble staircase, with Slovenian oak flooring and German vitreaux and a 1.2 ton spider chandelier.

Its façade, rich in details and ornaments, combines baroque and neo-Gothic elements. The interior, no less majestic, surprises with its large spaces, high ceilings, stained glass windows and profuse decoration that includes sculptures and paintings. The building, a true work of art, is a testament to the architectural splendor of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I didn't have the opportunity to be inside, but it certainly looks interesting. There's no one to regulate it because they cut it off badly. Plaza Malvinas Argentinas

Park
Sights & Landmarks
Plaza Malvinas Argentinas is a beautiful park in the city, offering a relaxing atmosphere and opportunities to immerse yourself in local culture. The park hosts a craft market every Saturday, Sunday, and holidays where you can find colorful trinkets and enjoy live music. Occasionally, cultural events with marketplace-like stands take place, providing authentic experiences such as the Fiesta de la Luna celebrating the Chinese community. The plaza also features benches, playgrounds for kids, shaded trees, and a cafe.
There's amazing events with marketplace-like stands every so often, around once a month. They're usually cultural and authentic and offer live music or shows. For example, today was the Fiesta de la Luna (of the chinese community) and there were lots of food stands with authentic chinese and japanese food, commercial stands, and one kung fu or tai chi show after the other.

It was good to visit the site that honours those who gave their lives. Respect to them and their loved ones. But you need to do something with your coffee shop! $8,300 for below average cappuccino & a very stale chocolate muffin is outrageous & disrespectful! Despite the high charge, the toilets are not far off a 'Trainspotting' experience. SHOCKING!

Beautiful place to relax, immerse yourself in history and drink a mate. There are lots of benches, bins, a playground for kids, trees with shade and a Cafe. We used the toilets of the Cafe, but they weren't very happy about it - public toilets would be nice.

I prefer parks with green spaces, like Saavedra Park or the forest (near the faculties area) but it's really nice to spend the week day there with friends

(Translated by Google) Oct 2024 $2700 entry per adult. The place is beautiful. Lots of fauna to photograph. There are tables, shade, grills are rented (you can bring your own), there are games for kids, there are places to buy ice cream, drinks. Point against: there are few bathrooms, some unusable, and people with music at full volume...if it weren't for those misplaced people, the place is very nice to rest and enjoy (Original) Oct 2024 $2700la entrada por adulto.

Important fact, to date there is no service station with CNG due to supposed gas restriction in Navarro, no idea but gasoline in those parts. (Original) 300 pesos x persona. Creo que 900 estadía. (Translated by Google) As a place, it is very nice, the campsite is good, the prices are $300 good, but if you want family tranquility, going on a Sunday is like going to a sports center or Vicente López beach, full of people, with music, motorcycles that cut. Not recommended to spend the day quietly.
