What a beautiful place to spend the day with the family. There is plenty to do with the kids as there are activities and parks around the wheel as well as beautiful walks around the canals. The parking costs £4 for the full day which is great. Highly recommend it

Absolutely fantastic place to visit! The Falkirk Wheel is an incredible piece of engineering and a great day out for families. The boat trip experience is really enjoyable and gives you a close look at how the wheel works — very smooth and fascinating to watch in action. The café on site is lovely, with friendly and welcoming staff who make you feel right at home. The food and coffee were great, and it’s a nice spot to relax while enjoying the view. There’s also a souvenir shop with plenty of unique gifts and Scottish items at reasonable prices. Parking is very spacious, with giant car parks that make visiting really easy, even on busy days. Overall, it’s a well-maintained, clean, and family-friendly attraction — definitely worth a visit if you’re in Scotland!

We visited The Falkirk Wheel today with the whole family, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The engineering of the Wheel itself is simply fascinating, seeing the boats being lifted was a real “wow” moment for all of us. We even tried the Wheel ride ourselves, and it was absolutely unforgettable! Gliding smoothly up and down while taking in the stunning views is something we’ll always remember. What made the day even better was how much there was for the kids to enjoy. The play areas and games kept them entertained for hours, and they loved every moment. It’s not just an attraction for adults who enjoy history or engineering; it’s a genuinely fun and interactive place for children too. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole site was clean and well-maintained. We left with big smiles (and a few tired legs!), already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommended for families looking for a mix of learning, fun, and a little bit of magic.

Another must see, the car park was free and it is a short walk up to the canal and then round to see the Wheel in all its glory. We were fortunate enough t to have a lovely sunny day and the wheel was activated pretty much as we got there so we got to see the whole show straight away. You can pay to go on a boat trip to experience it personally but we unfortunately did not have time, maybe next time. Highly recommended seeing this and then go see the Kelpies which are just 10-15 minutes away.

Fascinating place. Very interesting judt to watch. Trips available. Plenty of parking. Staff very helpful and friendly. Stayed overnight in our motorhome. Some road noise but definitely not an issue.

I really amazing construction, very interesting to find out the how it works and read about it's design and construction. Enjoyable Captain of the boat relaying lots of interesting facts and figures. £15 each for the boat trip and £4 for parking. Well worth the cost.

Beautiful, even though the castle is a bit on the excessive side is is worth seeing once. The fact the guy built a distressed vanity arch at the front because he liked the look tells you that. But the grounds are beautiful and you can bring your dog. 640 acres to explore and some truly stunning views

Culzean Castle was beyond exceptional! The grounds are massive and magical, and the castle itself is stunning. I absolutely loved the orangery and learning about its history, and honestly, a whole day wasn’t enough to take it all in – I can’t wait to go back. We had a wonderful guide but also enjoyed exploring the castle at our own pace. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating historical stories that made the visit even richer. The gift shop is a must-visit, with lovely local products that help support the castle’s preservation. It’s also perfect for relaxing – you can sunbathe, take in the scenery. B sure to also enjoy the views of the ocean. Highly recommend for a day trip or excursion; it’s truly a magical experience

Interesting place. Very grand and lots of historic artefacts as you walk around the one way system. Lego hunt was live while we visited which was a great little extra for the kids! There is also a massive playpark in the estate which is probably the best playpark I've ever seen seen! If I went to this when I was a kid I know I'd have absolutely loved this!

Here is a beautiful castle right on a cliff overlooking the sea. A must to visit this huge estate that was once a private home and to see how the wealthy once lived there. It’s fully restored with lots of extravagantly furnished rooms. There is a huge collection of pistols and weapons to see, a fine display on the walls. It has a walled garden, a large grass garden and forest around it with many trails to walk and to enjoy the sea views. The staff were very good and eager to answer my questions. There are places to stay on the estate and they also host weddings and corporate event events and private parties. It’s a busy place. Of course there is a coffee and gift shop and there was lots of parking, but it does get very busy with tourists.

Beautiful grounds, gardens and beaches to walk around . The castle is very well maintained, with regular tours and knowledgeable staff on hand. I can easily spend a couple of hours here exploring. And the deer! They are beautiful 🥰

Beautiful castle right on the ocean with massive gardens. Arrive early to have plenty of time to see the whole site. Take your entry ticket WITH you to the main castle so you don’t have to return to your car for proof of purchase of castle access.

Love bringing the family here! Our little boy loves hunting out all the rock pools at the beach. The food at the various cafe’s are all really nice. The outdoor play park is also amazing! There is so much to do here - something for everyone!

Beautiful place for a day out with kids, not so far from glasgow, they have huge parking, very different kinda of kids play and entertainment like bouncy castles, toy train rides, boat ride, mini tractors , bike ride , big slides, zip lines etc. Also animals like llama, deer, kangaroo are the main attractions. Although it has the fee around 17 pounds, but worth it. Point to be noted that, many of the rides like train , boat, truck etc are not free or included in entry fee, need to pay separately.

Arrived only expecting to spend half a day. We ended up staying until close. Amazing farm with plenty to do for children and adults whether it was going on the amount of playgrounds they have to offer, or driving quad bikes and riding on the miniature railway. Plenty of spaces to sit down and have your packed lunch if you've brought some with you.

Fantastic family day out, came here with our 6 year old who had so much fun! There is so much included in the ticket price and then a few extra which are super affordable such as the train ride and quad bikes. The staff were super friendly and you could tell that they cared about the animals and the people visiting, the site was clean and well kept. Would highly recommend to anyone as it was a great day out!

This is a lovely farm park and a definite must visit! Well worth the money with loads of different animals as well as parks, tractors, mini train, and other fun activities like a mini tobogganing, zip line and trampolins! As well as a decent soft play which is out of sight so won't distract children from the animals. Make sure you grab a bag of animal feed!! Only one issue I have as a horsefield tortoise owner if anyone from the park see's this... he shouldn't be housed with another species as they will fight especially if either or both are males as they are more aggressive. I understand he's probably a rescue and you're probably aware of his underbite, hopefully this is something you are working on solving as this can cause problems eating. Just some small upgrades would massive improve his health and lifestyle, including a slate plate instead of plastic one to support keeping his beak trimmed, top soil as a substitute as they dig to regulate their body temperature, safe weeds and flowers are much more nutritious and you have plenty of land to beable to grow your own. My horsefield (Fluffy) loves pansy's! I honestly had a wonderful visit with my family during our holiday, and if we ever holiday again in the area we will definitely return.

Absolutely love this place for a day out. Go for opening so you can get the most of the day. Entry is expensive. I think we where around £60 for 2 adults and 2 children. It is well worth it though. There are so many animals to see and you can buy feed for £2 a bag. The goats are my favourite but there are so many cuties (including alpacas which are actually at a field at the end of the car park outside so if you haven't used your animal food at closing you can go up and feed them when you leave). There are multiple different play parks for kids as well as a softplay area indoors and a shooting game thing. We always pack a lunch so we don't need to stop to go in to eat and usually eat on the wee benches next to the big slides and bouncy things. There are go karts too although we've never been on them since kids are too wee right now.

A fantastic day out for the whole family! Hand feed animals, and there's plenty of them! Cheaper to book in advance online. I would recommend going as close to opening as possible as the afternoon got really busy. Not just animals there's plenty of activities for the kids like trampolines and adventure playgrounds

Had a great day despite rain forecast all-day . My 2 boys aged 12 and 15 loved the adult quads and went on twice. They enjoyed feeding the animals and the activities onsite. Went spent 3-4hr onsite even in the rain. But if my children was younger we could have spent a lot longer. We have visited before. The staff was helpful and friendly however the lady at the front desk didn't appear very happy & wasn't so welcoming. We bought ice cream but didn't like the mint choc chip but the waffle cones were good. Site was quiet but prob due to poor weather. Animals seemed well cared for and they had clean areas.

Went for a day out with a friend. We were lucky with the weather it was sunny and hot and we spent a few hours just walking around the estate exploring. Plenty of space to explore and some lovely trails. The walled gardens was beautiful and very well maintained. Large outdoor playpark for the kids too. On site cafe was great, very good value for money and the food was lovely and freshly made. We had baked potatoes, strawberry tarts, a coffee and a cold drink each and spent £33. Seating indoors and outdoors. There are bookable tours of the house itself available although I think you have to book in advance. A beautiful place that you could easily spend a whole day exploring.

Visited the café, shop, Arboretum and walled garden. The weather was good which made a great difference. The grounds are beautifully laid out with a rich variety of trees, shrubs and plants. Produce used in the restaurant, café and cookery school on site too.

Visiting Dumfries House Gardens was an absolute delight. The entire space feels serene and perfectly laid out, with a beautiful flow that invites you to wander and explore at your own pace. The walled garden's gorgeous beds had a plethora of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees, from roses and clematis to gladioli and apples. It was nearly overwhelming. The fruit and vegetable gardens are not only productive but a feast for the eyes, bursting with colour and life. Every corner reveals something new – from vibrant, carefully tended flower beds to stretches of stunning woodland that feel both peaceful and full of character. One of my favourite spots was the picturesque pond areas, where the water reflected the surrounding greenery and created a sense of calm. Everywhere you turn, there’s another hidden gem to admire, making it easy to spend hours soaking in the sights. Dumfries House Gardens is a place where nature, beauty, and thoughtful design come together perfectly – a must-visit for anyone who loves the outdoors.

Dean Castle Country Park is a spectacular and absolutely free day out for the whole family! Nestled right in Kilmarnock, this place is an oasis of history and nature that feels a million miles away from the town. The highlight, of course, is the magnificent 14th-century Dean Castle itself. The recent renovations have been done beautifully, and exploring its history and world-class collections of arms and armor is truly captivating. Beyond the castle, the country park is an adventure waiting to happen. We spent hours wandering the woodland paths, spotting wildlife, and just soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The park is clearly a source of pride for the community. The facilities are excellent, and there's a lovely cafe, "The Laird's Table," for a well-deserved coffee and cake. It's a place that caters to everyone, whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or a family looking for a fun day out. Dean Castle Country Park is a treasure. I can't believe it's free to visit. It's a shining example of what a local park can be, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area or even just passing through.

An Absolute Gem on Glasgow's Doorstep! I cannot recommend Dean Castle and Country Park highly enough. We visited on a whim, looking for a day out that offered something for everyone, and it completely surpassed all our expectations. First and foremost, the wildlife is the star of the show. Walking through the beautiful, mature parkland, we were thrilled to see fallow deer roam in their expansive enclosures. But the animal encounters don't stop there; The park is also home to a charming collection of farm animals, including friendly sheep, curious goats, and wonderfully content-looking pigs. It was an absolute delight for both children and adults alike. The woodland walks are fantastic. The trails are well-signposted and cater to all levels of fitness, offering peaceful, shaded paths that make you forget you're just a stone's throw from the city. The combination of open parkland and dense woodland is simply beautiful in any season. Speaking of location, the proximity to Glasgow is a massive plus. It's incredibly easy to get to, making it the perfect escape from the urban hustle without needing to spend hours in the car. You can be immersed in this tranquil countryside setting in just minutes. The facilities are top-notch. The visitors centre is a great starting point, with helpful staff and interesting information. A huge bonus for families and anyone on a day out: there are plenty of toilets located conveniently around the park, so you're never caught short! After our long walk, we popped into the cafe for a coffee and a bite. It was lovely, with a good selection of hot and cold food, delicious cakes, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. It was the perfect way to refuel. And then there's the castle itself – the beautifully maintained Dean Castle. The courtyard is immaculate and feels like stepping back in time, while the gardens surrounding it are a delight, filled with colour and carefully tended plants. In summary, Dean Castle and Country Park is a flawless day out. It seamlessly blends history, nature, and modern convenience. We left feeling refreshed, educated, and already planning our next visit. An undeniable 5-star experience

From my experience, the Dean Castle is one of the best preserved castles in Scotland. We explored the fascinating instrument collection and the impressive armour displays, which made for an amazing experience. After our visit, we enjoyed a delicious coffee and pastry in the cafeteria. The surrounding park is beautiful, with a peaceful river, wildlife and stunning scenery. It was a truly memorable visit.

This place is absolutely beautiful. We went on a day when it was so sunny. Lots of autumn colours. Our dog really enjoyed the walks, some steep hills so if you have trouble I’d say take hiking sticks.

Lovely place to visit for the whole family. Very much enjoyed a walk along the pond and river, seen deers and a nice castle, also enjoyed playground and all for free. Definitely worth coming back once in the area again.

The deer are near the car park entrance, right before the castle! 🦌🦌 We went on the Farm Trail thinking we'd see the deer on the way, but turns out they're right at the start 😭 But!!!! The Farm Trail was so good too with horses, goats, ducks etc !!!

Very interesting collection of musical instruments and armour. Our granddaughter really enjoyed dressing up in period pieces. What a nice touch. So nice to be see deer up close. The cafe has really decent food too.

Nice place to walk around with some interesting buildings and history. The scenery next to the Clyde is lovely. Thank goodness there was a courtesy bus to get back up to the car park though! Will come again when not so hot..

New Lanark is a fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site with an industrial past dating back to the late 18th century. The mill complex was founded in 1785 and is famously linked to social pioneer Robert Owen, who transformed it into a model village for mill workers. The restored stone buildings—including the mills, workers’ housing and school—are beautifully preserved and give a real sense of history. Parking is available at the top of the hill with a short walk down to the village; limited disabled parking spaces are provided near ticket office There are plenty of picnic tables dotted around the site, making it easy to bring your own food if you prefer. The on-site café offers good quality meals and snacks, though I found the prices a little on the high side. Clean and well-maintained toilets are plentiful throughout the complex. Great walk to falls Clyde Overall, New Lanark is a wonderful day out for anyone interested in Scotland’s industrial heritage, social history, or simply enjoying a scenic riverside walk.

Simply fantastic National heritage site, with great walks, museums, a coffee shop, and photo opportunities are endless, along with a good amount of parking. I loved how professionally run the whole area was.

A beautiful place to visit to experience both Nature and cultural heritage. The walk around the gorge makes for a great day out but expect to be relatively close to the gorge edge so not suitable for young children. The Autumn colours are just stunning and I'll be returning in the spring to see what the area has to offer.

This is a place that will suit everyone. Adults will find the history and the living conditions of the mill workers interesting. Children will enjoy a short ride inside the building on gondolas with interactive characters. Everyone will be amazed by the beauty of the landscape and the waterfalls of the River Clyde.

Initially I wasn't impressed but once I explored more I realized it was fantastic. So much learn and explore both inside and out! Highlights: The mill tour is very well laid out to keep attention of adults and children. You follow the route through each floor and there are various interactive displays showing life in the co-operative. The attention to detail is fantastic. The immersive ride puts you right into the story. Challenges: The parking doesn't have great signage, from the village entrance you have to take the opposite road and drive past several lots to get to the main lot.

The Riverside Museum is a fantastic place to visit, especially as admission is free, making it accessible for everyone. Its location right by the river adds to the charm, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the scenic surroundings before or after exploring the museum itself. The building is modern and striking, and once inside, you’re greeted with an impressive collection that feels both inviting and easy to navigate. One of the highlights is the range of lovely old vehicles on display, from vintage cars and trams to classic bikes, which are fascinating to see up close. The museum is also very well thought out in terms of accessibility, with excellent disabled facilities that ensure all visitors can enjoy the experience comfortably. It’s a place that combines history, culture, and atmosphere beautifully, making it well worth a visit.

This museum is a really good day out. Tracks the history of transport from the beginning to now. A good variety of interactive displays to keep the interest. Good for kids and adults. Has a cafe to grab lunch or a quick bite to eat. Well worth a visit.

Free museum, free great knowledge to learn! 7 minutes walking from the Govan station. Took about an hour to skim through this museum. With the ship, needs about 2 hours in total! Good for kids and adults! I would love to visit here again!

Amazing place, one of the best museums we have ever been to, got there at opening time, stayed until around 3.00pm, great coffee, great soup...... The displays are very well laid out with lots of interesting info. The ship conveyer belt was so cool. Great to sit in an old underground train and watch the movie from the 1940s, also the Coronation tram, the old shops and street were so well done..... Love seeing the Caledonian Railway 123 loco, still have my Triang/Hornby one from the 1970s :) Not all about transport, plenty about Glasgow life. The Tall Ship is worth a visit too just behind the museum.

The exhibits at the museum are simply stunning particularly if you’re interested in the history of transport or want a glimpse of Glasgow from yesteryear. There are guided tours available if you want to ensure you don’t miss anything. Highly recommended.

A very good place to visit with children. A good collection of old cars, bikes, and a train, and how the streets look. It feels like you have time traveled and are seeing the past with your own eyes. It will feel very nostalgic to the elderly who may remember a few things from their childhood. Free to visit.

What an amazing museum!! It was the last stop on my list of things to experience on our trip to Scotland!! And it didn’t disappoint!!! The main thing I wanted to see/hear was the 1 o’clock pipe organ performance…. We took the train from Edinburgh to Glasgow. We had time to explore the museum then at 1 o’clock…. We got some of the best seats and were so excited to enjoy such beautiful music!! What a talented organist!!! Loved how he expressed himself!! He played 7 or so songs!! It was AMAZING!!! And actually the GRAND FINALE to our 30th wedding anniversary trip to Scotland from the USA!! Go visit the Kelvingrove Museum!!

A lovely museum set in an old building and free to enter (donations most welcome to the museum). Pay and display car parking with designated disabled bays £5 per 2hrs at time of posting this review. Wheelchair accessible push button automatic doors to get inside. Lifts to all floors and disabled WC too. Plenty of room inside for wheelchairs to maneuver. The're cafes and gifts shops too. There is Art galleries on one side then there are museum exhibits from dinosaurs to Egyptian mummies and a whole lot more.

So, we started from Edinburgh for a day trip to Glasgow, and without any specific plans, we randomly chose the Kelvingrove Museum. The building was gorgeous from the outside, and once we stepped inside, it felt like we’d been transported back to the 1950s. The exhibits were plentiful and impressive, and what stood out the most for me and my wife was the Dalí painting on display, as well as the 1 o' clock concert featuring the church organ. That was truly magical, and I’d never heard a church organ live before—it’s an experience I’ll never forget! The entrance is free for everyone, and that something i love about Scotland and their free entrance museums policy.

Well worth the visit. We had about 3 hours. We saw some highlights and those were great. The building itself is spectacular. It is free so no tickets needed. In Glasgow Scotland

Interesting museum and lots of artsy things to see! My favourite would be the artworks across the different centuries and the crowd management was well managed. ♿️ wheelchair accessible entrance and lots of space to move around inside, across different floors. There are elevators inside the museum building.

Lovely museum with a brilliant range of exhibits - not just Art. 2 gift shops, one for adults and one for children, will a lovely range of items. Is free to enter but you need to pay for parking. We paid £7.90 for three hours which was well worth it. There’s a food van in the car park for hot drinks and a bite to eat. We used the EV charger - lead got stuck in the machine and had to call the help line who wouldn’t release us until the car next to us had disconnected. Not the museums issue at all but worth noting if you’re planning on charging there.

A wonderful place to visit in Glasgow! Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is truly amazing — a perfect mix of art, history, and culture under one beautiful roof. The architecture itself is stunning, and the exhibits are very well arranged. I especially loved the variety — from ancient artifacts to modern art and natural history displays. It’s peaceful, educational, and completely free to enter. A must-visit spot for anyone in Glasgow!

If you're looking for a great shopping spot, this street is perfect, with plenty of excellent stores and charming cafes. However, be cautious when taking photos, especially if you see the Romani people sitting on the streets. They may view it as an invasion of their privacy, so it's best to avoid photographing them to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Great walk from the top of Buchanan Street down through St Enoch Square to the river. From gift shops to High end retailers this Glasgow Street has it all. If coming to Glasgow it's a must. As we found that you need more than one day in Glasgow to get around and see everything but this has to be no1 on the list. We are definitely going to return but for a few days so we can venture further out to take in more of the City.

It's one of the most vibrant area of Glasgow with lots of shopping stores and very close to bus and train station. See the hustle of the city here with lots of people passing by or enjoying the atmoaphere.

Amazing day out for all the family. Best zoo we have been too. Loads to see, food vans located around the park which is great and it's actually decently priced too and great quality. There are loads of great animals to see and definitely could spend an entire day there. We all had the best day. Would definitely come back again.

Hands down the best zoo I’ve visited. Animals were so well looked after, staff were lovely - helpful and friendly. Could not get over the amount of different animals. Loved the unusual displays - something for both older and younger family members. Soft play was also a welcome rest. And kids loved it. Would love to return for the Christmas lights and the summer rides and things. Highly recommend. Some of the reviews on here are silly 🤷‍♀️ We spent around 4 hours here but could easily have spent the whole day. Didn’t see many empty enclosures 🤷‍♀️ and the black bear has signs explaining they are monitoring the behaviour as he is still settling in. You can tell that staff are very passionate about the animals and their wellbeing. We watched several staff members interacting with them.

Fantastic enclosures and very happy and content animals. I was super impressed with the animals husbandry and it is clear they have created the best environment for each animals needs. The staff were friendly and clearly cared about the animals on their care. We had a fantastic day out and could have stayed longer. A very well deserved 5 stars.

What an absolute amazing to visit to the zoo with my family. Such a diverse range of animals and a really cosy family feel to the whole park. From the you youngest to the eldest of our party we were all kept engaged and entertained for hours. We will definitely be back.

I loved it. It is a great place to go with family. I was lucky to see the otters that I love. And one of the bears very nice.As always... there was some shy animal that we didn't see... that happens.

Cafe and playcenter I don't recommend at all. Soup wasn't great, and the chicken tika panini was lukewarm. The coffee tasted dirty or burnt, there were so many flys. Finally the bathrooms smelt horrid and there's no hooks to put your bag up while you go to the loo. The zoo The zoo area was nice and had quite a lot to see, the animal talks were great and gave you a chance to ask more. The walk in bird enclosure was surprisingly my favourite. The carasol and other rides are nice though rather odd seeing more then half of the animal pens say to be quiet, but you could hear the carasol music across half the zoo. We did have concern for one of the monkeys (a vervet) as they had bad sores on their hands and a large gash on their rear.

What a lovely day! lost of animals to see, all the animals looked well looked after, very helpful staff… The reason why I didn’t give a 5 stars is that though there could be more picnic tables as we waited for quite a while for somebody to leave. I work with animals myself and would like to share some of more of my ideas if you would like to hear! :)

The boat trip experience is really enjoyable and gives you a close look at how the wheel works — very smooth and fascinating to watch in action. The café on site is lovely, with friendly and welcoming staff who make you feel right at home. The food and coffee were great, and it’s a nice spot to relax while enjoying the view. There’s also a souvenir shop with plenty of unique gifts and Scottish items at reasonable prices. Parking is very spacious, with giant car parks that make visiting really easy, even on busy days. Overall, it’s a well-maintained, clean, and family-friendly attraction — definitely worth a visit if you’re in Scotland!

We visited The Falkirk Wheel today with the whole family, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The engineering of the Wheel itself is simply fascinating, seeing the boats being lifted was a real “wow” moment for all of us. We even tried the Wheel ride ourselves, and it was absolutely unforgettable! Gliding smoothly up and down while taking in the stunning views is something we’ll always remember. What made the day even better was how much there was for the kids to enjoy. The play areas and games kept them entertained for hours, and they loved every moment. It’s not just an attraction for adults who enjoy history or engineering; it’s a genuinely fun and interactive place for children too. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole site was clean and well-maintained. We left with big smiles (and a few tired legs!), already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommended for families looking for a mix of learning, fun, and a little bit of magic.

Another must see, the car park was free and it is a short walk up to the canal and then round to see the Wheel in all its glory. We were fortunate enough t to have a lovely sunny day and the wheel was activated pretty much as we got there so we got to see the whole show straight away. You can pay to go on a boat trip to experience it personally but we unfortunately did not have time, maybe next time. Highly recommended seeing this and then go see the Kelpies which are just 10-15 minutes away.

Fascinating place. Very interesting judt to watch. Trips available. Plenty of parking. Staff very helpful and friendly. Stayed overnight in our motorhome. Some road noise but definitely not an issue.

I really amazing construction, very interesting to find out the how it works and read about it's design and construction. Enjoyable Captain of the boat relaying lots of interesting facts and figures. £15 each for the boat trip and £4 for parking. Well worth the cost.

Despite Amy trying her best, we arrived safely. How refreshing to receive a warm welcome, unlike the other nearby attraction. £15 for an overnight stay, with a hot drink voucher included. Stunning watching the night draw in and the Kelpies lighting up. Plenty of space to pitch up, facilities available if required. Why can't other places across the UK offer the same welcoming, safe place to overnight? Recommended

A must see sight when visiting the Falkirk area. These amazing sculptures are incredible to see. They dominate the surrounding area in their size and are a truly beautiful spectacle. Nearby, you’ve got the stunning sights of Helix Park to explore. Parking is available and even though it was busy, there were ample spaces. There are a number of great food choices at the Kelpies for a spot of lunch looking out onto the sculptures. Further, there is a fantastic gift shop with a great range of Scottish gifts.

A Majestic Scottish Marvel and Delightful Walk! I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Helix park and experiencing the majestic Kelpies up close, and I can't recommend it highly enough. It was a very pleasant walk from start to finish, offering a wonderful blend of natural beauty and impressive modern artistry. The sheer scale and intricate detail of the Kelpies are breathtaking. They stand as a true testament to Scottish engineering and mythology, perfectly capturing the spirit of the area's industrial heritage in a stunning, larger-than-life tribute to the mythical water horses. Viewing them illuminated at night is a particularly magical experience if you have the chance. The surrounding parkland at The Helix is beautifully maintained, providing the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll, a cycle, or simply a picnic with a lovely view of the sculptures. The pathways are accessible and well-signed, making it easy for visitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy the site. The ambiance is peaceful and invigorating all at once. Whether you're a local looking for a relaxing afternoon out or a tourist seeking an iconic Scottish landmark beyond the usual castles and lochs, the Kelpies offer an unforgettable experience. It's a fantastic day out that leaves you with a real sense of awe and appreciation for this unique piece of public art. Five stars!

So much bigger than expected. The detail in such large sculptures was fantastic. The Cafe and Visitors centre was also very good. The Sausage Rolls in the cafe were something special and the coffee was nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Amazing experience all round.

This has been on my to do list for a while and I wasn't disappointed - even coming from the land of the Angel of the North. Handy car park close to the sculpture but you have to pay for it. There is a free one but it's some distance away. Cafe was ok and small gift shop - expected more models of the sculptures tbh or posters to buy. Very little except for the general guide on the engineering behind the construction. Evening display slow to establish as we were there at dusk about 5pm and got bored waiting for the lights to complete.

Beautiful place to visit. Great parking facilities, well organised and easy to find. We visited in the day time but would have loved to see these lit up of a night.

Very cool structures! You really only need 10-20 min for photos unless you have booked a tour. The park is nice albeit a bit smelly. Not sure if it’s the water or what the putrid smell was but yuck! The Kelpies are truly beautiful and it’s a great folklore story.

A steep climb up the hill got us to the Castle. You don't have to walk, there's a carpark by the gate and a shuttle bus service. Buy tickets in advance and save some money. Trying this on my mobile was problematic and I never managed to get it to work. But the nice lady at the Castle sorted it out for me. The good bits, all of the buildings are impressive. The views from the terraces outside even more so. The interiors are spectacular with ornate carvings and wonderful wall decorations. See the restored kitchens and the reconstruction of the interior. It's obvious that a great deal of effort has been made to present a good visitor experience. One of the best bits was a couple of ladies roleplaying different people from history. More of this could be a great thing. Well worth a visit.

There is no way you can come to Stirling and not visit this amazing historical centerpiece. Sitting at the highest point in the area, it will be visible from anywhere in the city. There are lots of paid parking spaces (5 pounds) right at the entrance. As soon as you walk in, the ticket booth is just off to the left. After ticket purchase, I highly suggest the free tour given by their historians - very informative with a nice touch of humor. First one started at 10 am when we visited. As you walk through the grounds and on the high walls, you can take in some great scenery inside and outside the castle. There a lot of things to see and some of the parts of the castle might be missed if you are not paying attention to the map. All the main areas have employees in period dress who freely offer their period stories. Everything is in your own time - I would say a couple of hours will offer you a good visit with the tour. There is a couple of gift shops (one at the entrance and one off the main inner courtyard) and a nice canteen to buy some light snacks. So much history - enjoy.

A phenomenal castle experience! The drive up built anticipation, as Stirling Castle unveiled itself gradually. At the castle, I enjoyed the stunning view of the gorgeous Forth Valley from the ramparts. The restored Royal Palace was impeccable — vibrant colours, heraldic details, and Renaissance interiors that feel genuinely 16th century! Allow plenty of time to explore the entire grounds, the Great Hall, and especially the Palace. A truly unmissable piece of Scottish history!

Absolutely stunning castle. We'll preserve and very good historical information presented clearly. I didn't get the audio tour and I think that was a good choice. Though I'm sure they provide good information. Wasn't so crowded you couldn't see what you wanted as long as you avoided the huge bus tours. Have I mentioned it was beautiful? It truly was. Very memorable.

By far the most interactive and fascinating castle visit I have experienced across the 40 countries I’ve visited. The site is rich in history and offers truly immersive exhibits. Even rushing through, we spent almost 3 hours inside. For a full experience, I recommend reserving 4–5 hours — and trust me, it’s worth every minute. The ticket is not cheap, but it is absolutely worth the visit.

My first visit to the Royal castle. Wonderful location. Views are stunning. The castle itself is full of history, much more intimate than Edinburgh castle. We arrived late in afternoon just in time for the second last guided tour. It was so informative and the guide was outstanding. Made my day. The garden was so vibrant.

Our visit to Stirling Castle this past September was absolutely unforgettable! This magnificent fortress is one of Scotland's most impressive historic sites, and it truly brought Scottish history to life in the most captivating way. The castle itself is remarkably well-preserved and intact, with beautifully restored rooms that transport you back through centuries of Scottish history. Walking through the Great Hall, the Royal Palace, and the Chapel Royal felt like stepping into a living museum. Every room tells a story, from the grand Renaissance architecture to the intricate details in the tapestries and decorations. One of the absolute highlights of our visit was the live Renaissance musicians performing throughout the castle grounds! Their authentic period music filled the rooms and chambers, creating an incredibly immersive atmosphere. The musicians were talented and passionate, and their presence truly elevated the entire experience. We learned about Mary Queen of Scots, James VI, and the many battles fought for control of this strategic stronghold. The storytelling brought the history to life in such an engaging way. The views from the castle ramparts are absolutely breathtaking, we especially loved the gardens and the views of gardens in the valley too overlooking Stirling and the surrounding countryside. You can see why this location was so strategically important throughout Scottish history! Receiving lots of daily visitors it is wise to choose an organized tour or purchase the point-by-point earpods. Allow plenty of time to explore – there's so much to see and experience!

Beautiful place, views and reminds bit of Lord of the rings to top of the tower. Need comfy shoes to get to it. Has free parking, nice place to go for a walk around too. Has some wooden sculptures on the way aswell. Bit of a steep walk but has small buss service that takes to the top, cafe near parking. Also available free toilet in the Monument. Welcoming staff.

This monument is certainly a must see in the Stirling area. There is a lot of convenient parking for your visit and a nice cafe and gift shop at the base of the hill beside the parking area. After parking, head up the trail that starts around the right hand side of the building - you don't need to go inside as the tickets for the monument are bought when you get to the top. There are two paths that literally run beside each other and connect around halfway up. The more natural path has some carvings to look at as you go through. Depending on your fitness level, the path to the top may be a bit strenuous - take your time and there are a few rest spots. There is also a great viewing platform and rest area outside of the main tower entrance. There is one bathroom for all patrons in the monument tower, so this can be a bit inconvenient. Use the bathroom down below before heading up hahahaha. Depending on the time and day you go, this visit will likely vary greatly. There is only the original narrow spiral stone staircase to go up and down. Although there are a lot of stairs, you can stop at the different floors with great displays - historical video, display boards, the Wallace Sword, and sculptures. Resting on each floor is also a good way to let the "traffic" pass. You can only hope you don't arrive at the same time as tour buses - ouch. Make your way to the top to get an incredible 360 of the area - including the Battle of Stirling Bridge. A great piece of history, with great relics. Thanks for the amazing visit.

Enjoyed our visit to the monument, we walked up the hill and took the free shuttle back down. A lot of very tight curved circular stairs to reach the 2 information areas and finally the top level which has great views over the battlefield area. We had a beautiful clear day , sometimes if it's misty you don't see much! There's one toilet at the monument, but plenty down at the visitor centre, where there is a souvenir shop and a café. We , my 2 boys, wife and myself enjoyed our visit. Check final times for buying your ticket to go up the monument, it finishes 45 minutes? Before closing time at 17:00, (check that online)

Really pretty! We went there to see the sunrise, but the sun rises on the other side…. Nevertheless, it was really beautiful and a really good walk in the morning. The pathway was closed due to maintenance but you can go through the road, just need to be extra careful.

I really enjoyed my visit to the national Wallace monument it was great to finally see it in person and witness what it would be like to be living in that back in the it would have even mental been in there as a defence lookout against the English and other threats so be aware going here that there are lotsss of steps to take to the top and they are very narrow so it's a tight squeeze when there's two way foot traffic my dad made it to the the top and he has a walking stick so it can be done for those maybe less able and the view from the top is breath taking and definitely worth the climb and there are 3 levels to experience on the way up too the top which can be used as a wee rest stop with some great visual holisory to take in the place is just wow and thinking about all way back in time it's crazy this is a must to take in and if you have time take in Stirling castle too on the same day

A great experience for anyone interested in the history of the Scottish independence movement. Equally worthwhile if you just want to take in the amazing views from the tower. I also really appreciated the range of family ticket options, recognising that not all families are nuclear.

Sometimes you just can't get your mind around how something is built that is so massive and in the 1800s. This monument is one of them. The grandeur can only be experienced by climbing the narrow spiral staircases to three tall showrooms (two of which contain the swords of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce), and then to the top outside "crown" 200+ feet on top of a high peak. If you don't like heights, don't bother. But it is a stunning and extremely well put together attraction. We managed it in under an hour because we were in a rush to get to Doune Castle on time. If you have the stamina, do all the flights of stairs to the top.

Had an amazing family day out with Forth Tours and a visit to Inchcolm Island. The ferry trip was very informative and we were able to see seabirds including Puffins. We were very lucky to see two Seals close up resting on a bhoy as we travelled by slowly. Inchcolm Island and Abbey are a great visit with beaches, terrific walks and an amazing opportunity to enter the Abbey and grounds.

Really enjoyable wee cruise. Crew helped and knew all about where the seals are. Great views around the bridges, if you get off on the island enjoy the 90 minutes of peace and quiet. Dog friendly on board and on the island dog is asked to be kept on the lead.

A Jewel hidden in the Forth! Tranquil idilic location. Went with The Maid of the Forth. Well organised comfy seats great views with onboard refreshments. Good compère to inform one of the geography history locations and wildlife. Went on a calm sunny day and was pleasantly surprised at how interesting it was . Historic Scotland control visiting the site but great value. The Monastery and war defence relics are worth visiting . Gift shop for mementos and small museum.On return they do a tour round the Three Bridges going underneath the iconic structures If near here a great attraction worth visiting .

First time visiting the Island on Friday. It was an amazing experience. Met by the Staff who were welcoming and friendly. The views were amazing from every part of the Island. Watching the birds go about their daily lives. Will definitely go back. It's a wonderful place.

What a beautiful island! We spent 1.5 hours here and there was plenty to see and do if you took your time about the island. The Abbey was stunning and in amazing condition to explore. The island was gorgeous and had lots of beautiful views. The seagulls and other birds were numerous and walking around them was a little eery!

Spent the morning here and had a lovely time exploring the island. We took the spiral steps half way up to the tower, if you don't like confined spaces maybe best avoided. The wooden steps to the top of the tower are so steep, I had to come down backwards like a ladder.

Nice island for a trip. The highlight is the abbey, and from the tower you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. In the breeding season, the seagulls are very pushy and hostile, and you imagine yourself in the film The Birds.

Glenturret was started in 1763 and is the oldest continuously operating whisky distillery in Scotland. The tour was excellent. John was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and entertaining. For a whisky aficionado, this was a great experience. The tasting was excellent. You can buy bottles in the shop for a reasonable price for their Triple Wood expression. If you have a spare £80,000.00, you can buy one of their special bottles in a specially designed bottle. Definitely worth the time if you like whisky.

Beautiful setting with characterful whisky, but a mixed experience overall. The distillery is tucked into beautiful woodland by a river, with classic whitewashed architecture that gives it real charm. Parking was convenient off-season, with EV charging spots on site, though we couldn’t get them working. The tour itself was very enjoyable. The site has real heritage and uniqueness, and our guide John made it a standout experience: knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly, and passionate. We tasted several whiskies, and the Triple Wood and 14 Year Old Peat Smoked were personal highlights, balanced, rich, and elegant drams. Unfortunately, the customer service in the shop and bar didn’t match the rest. The staff we encountered seemed uninterested and transactional, which was disappointing. A simple request for a driver bottle to take away a paid tasting dram (as I was driving) felt like an inconvenience. The dram was eventually poured into the bottle without a funnel, spilling some in the process, and not a word of apology or any gesture of goodwill, even though we were the last customers there. Being charged £16 for a standard 25ml dram, of the regular 14 Year Old Peated, just before purchasing the £150 bottle, also felt excessive and off-putting. Many distilleries would show a more welcoming and commercial approach in that situation, encouraging return visits and loyalty. In short: absolutely worth visiting for the setting, the whisky, and the guided tour with John, but the customer service outside of that experience needs improvement to match the expected Lalique experience.

Great tour and experience. Took the bus to the road to the distillery and walked up a fresh green forest road for 0.5km to reach this relaxing location that enhanced the experience. Getting the opportunity to see, smell, and be educated about the process has given me so much appreciation of the process and what draws people to whiskey. John our guide was passionate and knowledgeable about everything and made this a very personalized experience.

We were on the basic distillery tour with Ewan for £20/person. He was thorough in his explanation of the process and there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer! You’ll also get the privilege of meeting 2 cats; Glen & Turret. They also cater for drivers, enabling you to buy a ‘designated driver’ ticket so you can take your sample whisky home, rather than tasting on the tour. Worth a visit.

The Scottish Crannog Centre was a surprise delight. We dropped by in the late afternoon and were warmly welcomed to a tour by kind and engaging staff. I didn't catch the name of our tour guide, but she was absolutely wonderful and such an asset to the centre! The tour was fascinating, and we enjoyed a nice meal in the cafe.

Fantastic living and working museum. The interactive staff role playing is superb. Beautifully put together and a stunning piece of history to learn about. Must book tickets to secure your guides tour. Showers, bins, toilets and a cafe on site.

Only 4 stars as there is no actual Crannog ready yet, so the naming is very misleading. Interesting interactive museum though, lots to do and time well spent. Will come back once Crannog is ready around September 2026... Till then however it's a bit pricey for what it is. All staff super friendly apart from girls in the cafe who where not helpful at all.

The car park big and very accessible. The staff are super helpful and full of happy energy. The guided tours are great, friendly and fun. The area where the displays are located are great. Again the demonstrations are brilliant and informative and fun. Even had the chance to sample of the food or help with the making of some metal work or creat a small clay piece. This is great place to come with the family or just to pass the day. Its fun and informative.

Had a terrific experience here with my Dad. An open air museum, a glimpse into iron age living, an interactive tour. The crannog centre exceeded my expectations. The staff here really make the place what it is. You can tell they have a real passion for not only the time period, but really getting immersed into what the lives would have been like for our Goildelic ancestors. In the village, everyone has a role. There is a blacksmith, a cook, foragers, carpenters, etc. Each member of staff was very welcoming and warm but a special shout out to Lisa and Laura for making our experience great. Would definitely not miss this if you are in the area. Consider travelling for the experience.

Well worth a visit to this special site. Charging for electric vehicles a bonus. Lovely coffee and cakes in the cafe. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff and apprentices on hand to share their passion, insight and knowledge about all things Iron Age - culture, community, skills and lifestyle

What a lovely experience! We enjoyed the hands on activities, learning from people that were very available for discussions. It was small enough and felt very safe to let the kids explore and walk around. We laughed so hard over the puppet show. You can tell the folks working here love what they do. It made me want to work there! We were bummed that there wasn't an actual crannog to see at this time due to fire and the historic accuracy they are applying to the building process, but appreciated the explanations and models they showed instead. And playing with Quinn the dog certainly made my kids' day. This will definitely be one of our favorite experiences in Scotland.

I loved my visit to scone castle. The grounds were well kept and lovely, the maze was grand until I got worried I wouldn’t get out and almost broke through a hedgerow. The peacocks were out and about being lively, but I didn’t approach them (as per the warning at the gate). I’m giving this four stars because 1) at a place called Scone Palace, you ought to have a grande scone… mine was okay, though the preserves were delicious. 2) just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. The ivory… not in the greatest taste, but understandable. The elephant foot stool? Shut the front door. The mounted elephant skulls and poorly taxidermied bears also felt like someone should check out how much room to store things in the basement or perhaps donate them to somewhere educational. That’s my rant, but I do recommend going. Just don’t panic in the maze!

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to in my life. I spent some of the most unforgettable days at this palace I truly enjoyed every moment. The nature around it is absolutely breathtaking and feels unreal. The shops there were beyond amazing, and I bought some really lovely gifts. I completely fell in love with this palace it’s stunning, and every corner is full of wonder. The staff were wonderful and everything was clearly explained.

A stunning Palace steeped in history. The guides share an abundance of knowledge with the history of the Palace and Scotland. The only disappointment was not being able to take any photos inside the Palace. They say it's for security of the family who still live there but they are happy to have thousands of visitors explore their home, at a cost.

INFORMATIVE! Great guides, cheery faces, noisy peacocks 😂. A beautiful building and grounds with such historic significance, everything ran smoothly, the guides answered every question with more details than you'd get from just asking Google. If you are using a mobility scooter, make sure you have good power/traction as the gravel square at the entrance is definitely a scooter killer. The cafe was good however the kids on the To-go cups didn't fit even remotely and in order for the lady behind the counter to secure it she had to run her hand/fingers over the entire lid... Not the best considering that's going to be attached my lips soon...

an absolutely amazing palace that was on my must see places on our visit to Scotland ...unfortunately can't take pics inside the palace but its splendour is to be marvelled...definitely do yourself a favour and put on your list of things to visit ...Scone is a place that breathes history like nowhere else in Scotland. Today, in the 21st century, it is the home of the Earls of Mansfield, and a major attraction to visitors from all over the world, most famous as The Crowning Place of Scottish Kings.

It's the first time I've visited. I was born and brought up in Perth,so I'm ashamed I took so long. Beautiful Palace and gardens. The staff are very helpful and each room had codes and pages to explain everything. The gardens are excellent too,especially the tall trees and the peacocks. Don't get lost in the maze though.

Spent 5 hours wandering the palace, the Kirk and the grounds. The audio guide (accessed by QT code on your phone) was very detailed and really explained the place well. The riverside and woodland walks were really relaxing and helped to make the most of the visit. Handy for a weekend visit to Perth... which had a lot to offer to.

We found this hidden gem of a winery by doing what we do best: getting absolutely, irreversibly lost. One wrong turn off a B-road, two sheep-related traffic delays, and suddenly we were pulling into a charming little vineyard that looked like it had been teleported in from southern France, then politely given a Scottish accent. The place oozed rustic charm, like it had been built by someone who loves both horticulture and quaint tea towels. Inside, we were greeted by a host so lovely we’d probably trust her with our passwords. Warm, welcoming, and dangerously persuasive when it came to encouraging wine purchases. We went in to “just have a look,” and left with enough fruit wine to open a small pirate tavern. And let’s talk about that wine. Sweet, fruity, and full of personality — like Ribena grew up, went to university, and came back as a sommelier. There was cherry, bramble, blackcurrant, elderflower, and possibly something made from the tears of unicorns. Every bottle we tasted (or sneakily sniffed) felt like it belonged on a sun-drenched terrace, not in the boot of a confused tourist’s car. They also had cider, which we didn’t expect, but fell in love with immediately. Refreshing, crisp, and dangerously drinkable. You could bring it to a picnic and accidentally start a cult following. The only regret — and it was a big one — is that we’d already eaten. Their wee café looked absolutely delightful, full of local treats and homemade whatnots, and there was a wine tasting tour we didn’t have time for because the real world (and Google Maps) was calling us back. Rookie mistake. Never trust your sat-nav over your stomach. Next time, we’re skipping breakfast, booking a tour, and possibly renting a wheelbarrow for the wine haul. Final thoughts: If you find yourself somewhere in Scotland and the road takes you somewhere unexpected — follow it. Especially if it smells faintly of blackberries and destiny. This place is a treasure, and we’re already planning our next “accidental” detour.

Cairn O' Mohr Fruit Wines is a strange place, but in the best possible way. The location is charming, the food is delicious, and the wines are truly exceptional! They are very original, niche, and you simply won't find anything like them in standard stores—they are incomparably better than the mass-produced alternatives. My favourites are the Gooseberry and Elderflower and the Plain Elderflower. I look forward to tasting their other available options soon! Furthermore, the staff is kind and welcoming, you don't have to wait long for the food, and the atmosphere is wonderfully homely.

The wines, ciders or sparkling wines here are very good, some more tasty than others. You can taste whichever ones you fancy before you decide. Lovely, friendly service. Clean. Restaurant food beautifully cooked. Highly recommend this winery, not ashamed to say we left with a crate full!

We had a lovely lunch followed by an interesting tour afterwards. The tour guide had worked there for well over 30 years and new every aspect of the business. We finished with a tasting of about 10 different wines or ciders. The tour only cost £10... incredible value. Well Done the Cairn o Mohr team 👏👏

We booked a tour of the Winery for two people, Angie was our guide for the tour she was very knowledgeable and quite funny at times. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the wine and cider tasting after. Would we go back? Definitely would we recommend a tour? Definitely. We'll be calling back at the winery in December on our way south to pick up another stash for presents.

Stunning views to just look out at and take a moment to appreciate our beautiful country 🥰 we managed to get my dad up In his wheelchair and he wanted to stand and take the view in 💙 we arrived just as the shop/cafe closed so didn’t get into have a wee look. You have to pay for parking here as well.

Excellent views from the viewpoint. The staff at the visitor centre were very pleasant and helpful. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe. The good weather allowed us to use the outside tables which we enjoyed very much in the early Autumn sunshine.👍

This place really lives up to the hype. Amazing viewpoint and an easy, quick walk. Maximum pay-off for minimum effort 👌 Pay to park in the car park but happy to support maintenance/access of such beautiful places in Scotland. Short stay option was only £3 for 6 hours I think. Sure there are many longer walks to do there but we didn't have time on our visit.

Beautiful view point, it is a must see place if you round this area. Easy walk from the carpark. Only a few minutes it takes. Nice coffee to grab something to eat or drink.

Queen’s View is definitely worth visiting! The views of Loch Tummel are absolutely stunning, and it’s an easy, short walk to the viewpoint. When we visited, it wasn’t crowded. There’s a lovely small café and gift shop nearby—just remember to pay for parking.

Nice cafe and lovely staff. Real shame about the £3 car parking charge. There is no real warning about payment untill you enter the car park and the camera captures your reg immediately so you can't turn around.

Very disappointed to read that this distillery is closed to visitors for the whole of 2025. It also seems (from a quick internet search) that they have not opened since Covid ! Brown signs for tourists are still displayed. Surely these should be taken down if they do not intend re-opening to the public.

A wonderful distillery. Obvious that lots of investment has taken place to enhance the visit experience whilst maintaining the charm. Excellent tour and shop a must see if your in this part of Scotland We've been lots of times and will continue to visit, it's such a fab place.

Without a doubt one of the best Distillery tours in Scotland. Angie our guide was not only very knowledgeable shone through, adding an extra level to the tour, that you simply do not get elsewhere. Visiting the barrel store room and being able to literally smell the Angel's share was a great treat.

Had a very informative and interesting tour in the smallest whisky destillery in Scotland. Can definitely highly recommend this place, very well trained and lovely staff to show us around and patiently explain every step in the process of whisky making, which, compared to bigger and more commercial places, are still visible.

Fantastic tour, great staff and guides with awesome whisky and the best cream liqueur around! Just visited for the second time, our guide Ian was fantastic and the Signature Whiskies are a must from the tasting bar!

To get here you will encounter some very narrow streets and it might seem a road to nowhere...but keep going, it is right around the corner. Scotland's only Single Malt Distillery that works the old fashioned way. The tour was very informative and our guide a true bard, he told the stories around this distillery with so much passion and eloquence, it was a joy to listen. And the tasting wasn't shabby either 😁. It is more than worth your time.

The personalized tour, the tasting of multiple products, and the surrounding area of this distillery all make it a must-see for anyone looking for an authentic Scottish distillery experience. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic experience at Blair Castle, the castle and gardens were all absolutely stunning and well maintained. The castle one way system really helped to see everything and it was well curated, each room highlighting a limited time period or individual family member. The gardens, especially the shady forest area, looked incredible on a blazing hot day. Walking under the massive trees to the sound of the piper was atmospheric to say the least. Well worth the price to help maintain this magnificent place.

I don’t know how we’ve missed this place on past trips. It’s incredible. We only did the grounds and could have easily spent a day just on the grounds. The tall trees are breathtaking. The garden was still interesting, even though it’s starting to head into dormancy. You truly need a few hours to really explore everything. There is a nice children’s play area too. We will definitely plan for a full day there on our next trip!

We went here for the Highland Games in May 2025. It was a fantastic venue. The crowds were awesome. The castle army is the only one left in the United Kingdom. They were amazing. Their band, uniforms, and professionalism were amazing. Beautiful castle with the Highland mountains surrounding it. It’s a beautiful place.

We very much enjoyed the Blair castle. It was a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the castle but it was well worth it. The inside of the castle was completely furnished and had people in rooms that could tell you about its contents and the people that once lived there. The gardens were Immaculate and beautiful.

Blair castle is a lovely place, you self tour the castle. There is highland coo's, deer, adventure playground, cafe, toilets , plenty of parking, piper plays on the hour, deer feeding at 12:30 and 14:30, lots of walks , lovely gardens and sculpture trail , staff very helpful and pleasant .

Came here with our English Bulldog to spend a nice afternoon. And indeed we did. The earliest known part of the present castle dates from 1269. In 1740 the 2nd Duke began his transformation of the medieval castle into a Georgian house. A remodel to the exterior of the castle happened in the 1860s/70s. Later on architects Jamie Troughton and Hugh Broughton constructed a new exhibition hall known as the Banvie Hall. And that's now how the Castle stands here until today. We did book the admission to the Park and Grounds online and saved some money. There were a good number of visitors, but no problem finding a parking space - there's plenty of it only a short stroll from the castle. Admission with 9.50£ was a very fair deal. We were just in time to listen to the bagpipes, which were played hourly (until a certain time). Very nice - we love bagpipes. And to sit there on the bench, listening and with the Blair Castle in the background was just a wonderful moment. Then we went to the Deer Park, watching the wildlife. Then through the woods and Diana's Grove. A nice trail through the forest, with some nice creeks and a beautiful little bridge. Then onto St. Bride's Kirk. From there to the Blair Castle Gardens. Then back again to the Castle. Suprisingly few visitors along the paths. Really wonderful grounds here. Nice walks - nice nature and landscape. The Castle is pretty and the park offers nice ways and paths to spend some hours here. Also of course a restaurant, a shop, a nice playground and toilets. We really had a great time here. Dogs allowed on the grounds was a great thing. A real good visit, well worth the fair-priced admission.

Lovely castle where dukes and dignitaries would meet in times gone by. Beautiful architecture. Fully of history. There is so much to see inside and outside. Feeding the red deer and seeing Highland coos up close was special. I can recommend it for either half a day or a.whole day if you want to go on some gentle walks. play area for children noted also.

Amazing place for a whole family. All the enclosures are tidy and animals are well fed and clean. The place is run by people dedicated to their mission and loving animals. Had a great day by spotting wee wild cats and monkeys, tigers, wolves, camels, horses, leopards and a wolverine.

I had an incredible Tiger Experience. This was purchased as a gift so didn't really know what to expect. There was only one other person doing the Experience at the same time. We were given a H&S briefing before being allowed to feed the tigers, through the fence. It was incredible to be so close to such majestic creatures. The keepers were super informative, kind enough to take photos and allowed us to ask lots of questions. The Experience may only have lasted half an hour but I would highly recommend, if you want to get close to these amazing animals. The rest of the park is worth seeing too although you need to be quite fit and able to get around the walking part of the park. Nice cafe and facilities on site too. We arrived around 1.30pm and it wasn't busy at all.

What a wonderful day out. Right from the start when paying in the lovely gentleman who was at the booth was so lovely chatty and friendly. A genuinely pleasant and welcoming beginning he is a credit to the park as was any of the staff we met. We were so lucky to get to see every animal there. The wolfs were what we mainly went for and were not disappointed they were so close and they were having a sleep right at the fence of the walkway it was a great experience. We were so lucky with timing with the big cats also. The enclosures were clean and looked to be very well maintained. The animals looked to be in great condition and did not appear to be stressed at all which is lovely to see. We found the park to be well set out and had plenty of time to get round all the enclosures, have a bite to eat and a play in the playpark before closing time and we didn't arrive till 12. I highly recommend a day out here a great day for anyone of any age.

Thoroughly enjoyed by kids. had lots of fun. Got to see variety of animals very closely. Both pandas, snow leopard, 3 tigers. Walking the trail of caterpillar was also funny. My kids loved it.

What an amazing experience. Great selection of animals which were active due to thought out enclosures. Cafe was busy and provides lovely coffee which is worth the wait. Ample parking and the staff we interacted with were wonderful. Shout out to the gent at the entrance before the ticket booths. Really helped us as we were using Marwell Passes. A fantastic day out. They are doing amazing work up there. The encloses are fantastic and the animals look relaxed and contented. I woukd recommend it as a great day out. Location is stunning too!

We were so excited to visit this Wildlife Park because they have Polar Bears! We were thrilled that there was a full drive-thru safari when we arrived, as we hadn’t realised this was available! Straight away, we got to see the polar bears walking along the edge of their enclosure! This was amazing and such a fun experience. We got to see lots of animals on the drive, and then headed over to the walking area. We got to see lots of talks and learnt so much about all of the animals throughout the day. The keepers were incredibly informative and were so happy to answer any follow-up questions afterwards too. My favourite was the wolves; we got to see them recall train and then being fed afterwards too. The food in the cafe was delicious and well priced also. We did have a bit of an issue with wasps in the cafe and it did ruin our meal a bit as they were EVERYWHERE. It’s obviously not the cafes fault per se, but definitely something to consider trying to resolve maybe. We had an absolutely fabulous day and would highly recommend a visit if you’re nearby! Definitely be aware there are so many hills and in this park, so if your mobility is limited this is something to consider. They do have special safari-type mobility scooters to hire out that handle the hills, if required.

On the shores of Loch Ness and the castle you see in all the photos and videos. Amazing location. You get to explore on your own. Takes about an hour to an hour and a half with the visitor shop 8 min vid. Worth seeing once for sure.

What a beautiful, breath taking place this was. It killed 2 birds in one stone, you can visit the castle and same time have a view/walk around of Loch Ness! We were so lucky that they day happened to be a nice sunny day - the setting, the colours of sky and the shadows on the Ness lake was simply amazing and picturesque. It is hard to put a review on this as some things you have to experience it yourself and this place is one of them!

At first I thought £16 was a bit much, but after viewing the 10min introduction film, a walk around the pictures and the castle itself, it was definitely worth it. Stunning view, nice gift shop and access to the lake. I'd definitely recommend to friends and family.

We made a stop here during our trip through the Highlands 🌄. The ruins of the castle are well-preserved, with clear signs explaining each area’s history. Before the visit, there’s a short film that tells the story of the castle — a very creative and engaging introduction 🎥. The views over Loch Ness are stunning… though we didn’t spot Nessie this time!

We went with kids and learned many things we wouldn’t have known if we hadn’t visited. Exploring the towers and walls was a highlight for everyone. We went on a weekday, and it was surprisingly less crowded. Highly recommend booking ahead and taking your time to enjoy the scenery and history!

We visited as park of a Loch Ness cruise (Jacobite Cruises) and stopping at the castle was definitely a highlight. The grounds and the surrounding landscape are beautiful! Much of the castle walls were destroyed in various seiges but what's left can be explored. We spent about an hour here.

£16 an adult ticket just about ok ! The facilities for parking, the cafe/ shop and terraced area over loooking the castle are great. The castle itself is limited for exploration grounds but I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Well worth a visit for solo, cpuples or families. If you need a place with facilities this is it.

Gandalf must have walked up at some point and commanded the rocks to form into a nice staircase for a good chunk of the route. Well done Gandalf. One has to pass the skeletal remains of spidery ski lifts and snow machines, which looks absurd in the warmer months, but once above these there's a sense of some wildness (apart from Gandalf's DIY obvs). 10/10

Nice summit to climb (1250m) ! About 600m of difference with the starting point ! The climb is easy, can be done in family. If you want more, you can make a bigger loop going through the « Northern corries »

Disappointing- not even a KFC or Mac Donald’s, could take a tip a from Snowdon and get a train or bus to the summit. Shopping malls virtually non existent, weather was bad too! Otherwise great!

Absolutely magnificent. My daughter and I spent an incredibly breathtaking day there. The scenery is the stuff postcards are made of. Love ut and didn't want to leave. Thank you Scotland😘

I went up this as a teenager and 40 years later I'm trying to locate where Dad's slides were taken and it is NOT HELPED by this pin and the associated photosphere being on the wrong summit. Make sure you use a reputable map and don't just rely on your phone.

Absolutely loved it. Booked a few days before, and managed to get the tour at 10am followed by the boat trip at 12pm. The tour is great, it explains a lot and shows you the history of Loch Ness. There is a cafe and a few souvenir shops around that have all sorts of things in to choose from. The boat trip starts with a short mini bus ride down the hill to the jetty where you are welcomed by Skipper Steve, taken in to the boat and off you go. Theres lots of photo opportunities to be had, and we were lucky enough to go on a beautiful day with blue skies, calm water and the sun out too. All I can say is go - it's worth the money all day long.

Really enjoyed our visit which was organised by Lochs & Glens. The centre was brilliant. Lots of nice touches and informative. All narrated by my fav David Tennant. All set in beautiful scenery.

Absolutely worth it. 6/5 stars in my experience. The museum was awesome, very well organized into a dynamic, coherent story with mutltiple Interactive “exhibit” rooms The design was very well done and engaging for kids and adults for different reasons. If you’re concerned about price, I saw skip the old broken castle and go here instead! Also I hate gift shops but liked this one and bought 3 things. Lots of great low price gift ideas that are super unique and fun.

This place was very interesting. In a series of short videos and interviews presented in a very cute way, you are introduced to the area, the legend and the possibilities of Nessie’s existence: your choice. Do you believe in Nessie? You decide! We enjoyed this experience, but it is not “necessary” to the enjoyment of all that Lochness has to offer… still I would recommend it.

We booked our tickets online before arriving. The 1 hour presentation at the hotel/centre was very funny, enjoyable and entertaining. Worth the money paid. The cruise though it was a slow cruise, but to feel the sun warmth on my face was just amazing.

Not worth the money to do a tour at The Loch Ness Centre. I was expecting more, but tbh it was more of a self directed tour / museum - where you walk across different rooms to watch the videos and animations/ voice over. It was for sure NOT worth it at all. Came out of the tour feeling disappointed and that it didn't fulfil my curiosity that I had since childhood. ♿️ wheelchair accessible entrance, might be abit cramped to move across different rooms of the tour.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great family stop by Loch Ness! The exhibits are fun and interactive, with a perfect mix of history, science, and the mystery of Nessie. The staff were friendly, and the kids loved the immersive experience. Definitely worth visiting before or after seeing Urquhart Castle nearby!

Very nice well kept castle. Well worth the entrance fee to help with the upkeep. Very friendly and helpful team who welcome you in from the outside. You can walk around yourself or pay for a guide. We chose to just take our selves around. Lots of interesting rooms and history ! Well worth a visit !

It was a nice surprise. We did not plan to visit it but you cannot miss it from the road. The tour is about 30mn , but you can easily spent 1h. You will find a lot of history details about Scotland, and the clan living here. I loved the room about the clan with all the weapons and rocks.

I've been to many historical sites on my Scotland visits but the staff and volunteers here are amazing. The presentation given by the staff for people unable to make the tour were phenomenal! A special thanks to ol' Morris for keeping the castle safe and an even bigger thanks to the community that makes this site accessible for anyone. The rich history of the site is amazing and the knowledge of the staff and volunteers is an absolute treat for any visitors.

We had a wonderful tour with Doreen through the castle. She told us so much that we probably would not have known or noticed on our own. We love that the castle is run by the local community.

Beautifully restored castle and fantastic visitor experience. Excellent self-guided tour with the aid of the Bloomberg Connects mobile app, which has floor plans, audio and video guides to each of the Castle's sympathetically restored rooms. It's worth downloading the app and multimedia content before you visit. I recommend bringing your own personal headphones to listen to the audio on your mobile device as I wasn't sure if they provided equipment. I thought the admission price was quite reasonable considering the entry and parking fees go towards the vital upkeep of the castle, which is under community care. The staff guides are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Stepping into Braemar Castle is like turning the pages of a captivating history book. We were taken on a journey that showed us how this impressive structure transformed from a no-nonsense redcoat garrison into a glamorous high-society escape. The stories of its Royal visitors and the many colorful characters who lived within its walls are brought to life by the knowledgeable guides. If you want to get a true feel for the history of the area and the people who shaped it, a visit to Braemar Castle is an absolute must. It's a truly memorable experience. There is a paid parking area outside the castle entrance.

Beautiful castle, easy walk from the carpark, plenty information along the walk. Unfortunately didn't get inside the castle, but was. Great to see the set up, and the garden.

Fun and good with kids - won't hold the all day but half or a bit more. Queues at peak time can see you wait anywhere from 10 to over 30 minutes - especially for the main attractions (water slides...). While there are multiple things to see and do, we felt we were coming back to a couple mainly, trying to balance queues waiting time and value! Few fast food stands with the quality you would expect from this type of place - nothing gastro of course!

A bit expensive but with the money. Great fun for the whole family. You can easily spend whole day there having fun on various attractions. Always book your ticket in advance online for a nice discount.

This was the first of many activities we booked before arriving to stay in Aviemore and what a great place to start off our holiday. Fun activities for kids and grown ups alike, I personally went out of my comfort zone and did the high ropes, having never done anything like that before it really tested me but so glad I did it, my daughter even did the skydive and showed great bravery

Landmark Forest Adventure Park is a fantastic day out for families! The panoramic views from the treetop tower are absolutely breathtaking, with sweeping forests and Highland mountains as far as the eye can see. The Cairngorms lookout point is both scenic and informative. Our kids had an amazing time, especially enjoying the water slide and the climbing facilities, which were safe, exciting, and well-designed. We also loved spotting butterflies in the tropical area. Beautifully maintained, fun, and full of natural beauty. Highly recommended for all ages.

Nestled in the forest, this Adventure Park is brilliant, we came just as the local schools went back which meant there were no queues at all. There is so much to do and explore as well as some really good activities. My 3 year old has told us it's his favourite place now thanks to the water slides. Great for all ages!

Went with husband, you defenetly do not need children to enjoy an adventure and to go out your comfort zone. Staff were friendly, loads to do with or without children. Beautiful grounds, informative information especially about dinosaurs 🦕 my husband especially enjoyed the water ride and the bid trampoline. Butterfly 🦋 house has lots of other interesting things, defenetly worth a visit for young and old with or without children.

A truly exceptional experience - the best amusement park in Scotland. Even standing on its own, the amusement park is incredible; however, once you couple that with the nature interwoven within, it is taken to a whole new level. FIVE STARS! COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE MORE!

I visited this place so beautiful.

Spend some good time roaming around the river and crossing the foot bridge to catch some good views of the old church nearby. This flows right through the heart of Inverness and adds a lot to the place.

Lovely walk along here. Would also recommend Ness Islands. We were here mid November so did not have ideal weather conditions but it was very worthwhile!

The River Ness is a fast flowing river it has a really strong current. You can walk beside the river in Inverness and you get some great views as you go along. It can be muddy and wet in places so good footwear is needed. It is also a good idea to have waterproofs incase you get caught in heavy rain. The weather can change very quickly. The area is popular with dog walkers and sadly some do not clear up after them.

Such an amazing place. The museum is so interesting, a valuable token of history. I came because I wanted to know more of this famous battle but was amazed to see how much they respected the place, created a whole area to show how the battle really happened. The museum itself gives many valuable information about the battle with numerous activities

After making our way through the entrance museum, we came out on this huge, lush field. It was hard to believe that so many people died on this field, and our guide helped us to understand the breadth and scale of the effects of this battle. To think what might have happened if the battle had gone a different way, but that is for a different person to tell. Overall, the area was pretty traversable by wheelchair, though some places it did get a bit bumpy. Also, our guide was excellent at helping to take the group on the smoothest places.

What an experience. Fascinating and sobering. The visitor centre provides superb context of the events that lead up to the battle and the battle itself. We took the guided tour of the battlefield and we’re glad we did. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and brought the events to life as we stood in the exact places that the events she so vividly described actually took place. The tour comes highly recommended from us. I would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend this place as a must see.

Last time I was here was in the 70s so big changes Cafe very nice. Guides were very knowledgeable. Well laid out paths with notices telling you the position of the 2 armies Graves had the clan names on them. Big carpark, cost me nothing as I am a national trust member. T

We visited the Culloden Battlefield, a historic and iconic site, during our trip to Inverness, Scotland. Having watched all the seasons of Outlander Series, we were very excited to visit as well as the other tourists in our Bus. It signifies the site where a pitched battle was fought in 1746, between the Jacobite Army under Prince Charlie who lost over 1500 soldiers and the Duke of Cumberland’s government forces. It is well documented and preserved by the National Trust for Scotland. The tourist attraction today consists of the Battlefield with the grave stones, Leanach Cottage, Visitor Center housing historical artefacts, film shows and a Memorial. A memorable visit.

This is a really captivating historical site. Give yourself some time to explore the visitor’s center and walk the battlefield. There are plenty of historical markings to help you understand how the battle was carried out.

It’s a shame that the brave Jacobites followed the Bonnie Prince Charlie as they had no rest after getting lost on their night march before being massacred by the government forces. This is indeed hollow ground. The cafeteria, displays and movie are well done. Bathroom was clean. I really enjoyed the Hairy coos within the field next to the battlefield.

We went here for the play gardens and found out there's a soft play for the really little ones. The play gardens are lovely and well kept as you would expect. We spent about an hour going round and having fun, though there wasn't as many activities as I'd been led to believe. However I was surprised to be told the cafe has a soft play (for children under 110cm in height). When we went in it's really aimed at under 5s I'd say. It was perfect for my little one. She enjoyed this more than the play gardens. I should add that wherever I read the info for the gardens made it out to be free. While you don't pay as such to get in, the amount you pay when parking depends on what area of the estate you are visiting. If you wish to visit the castle grounds (which includes the play gardens) it's £5 for the day (per car). Adding the castle costs a little extra. Note: it's free for those with National Trust memberships. I had no issues paying this, but it came a little unexpected and thought I should mention it here in case it was important to someone else. Something to mention is that the staff who we came into contact at various points were all very polite, friendly and welcoming and offered guidance and assistance where needed.

We visited Brodie Castle this Sunday and had an amazing time! It’s dog-friendly, which is a huge bonus — we were able to enjoy the day with our 10-year-old Lab. The gardens were truly inspirational. I especially loved the extended meadow areas and the large vegetable garden with an orchard. All of the play areas were well-kept, clean, and safe. There’s something for all ages — from 8 to 45! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Access to the gardens and play areas is free, and we only paid £5 for parking, which is a small price considering the number of attractions on offer. Highly recommended, especially in good weather! We’ll definitely be back!

A lovely historic building that was brought to life as a former family home by the knowledge and enthusiasm of our charismatic tour guide. Good facilities including two small and reasonably priced cafés (lunch of soup, oatcakes, cake and pot of tea cost about £10.40). Lovely grounds to explore and a children's play garden that was clearly being enjoyed. I visited on an October week day and it was not busy, a pleasantly comfortable and unhurried 3-4 hour visit.

We really like Brodie Castle. Our tour guide was new, but exceptional and she really added to our experience. The outside had some beautiful walking trails and we loved the huge beech tree. There were no formal gardens, but the children’s garden was so creative and really well done. If you have children, I’d highly recommend a stop here. The children’s garden was very well planned and the best we’d seen!

Visited the gardens and cafe . Staff all helpful and friendly. Two nice cafes with lovely cakes. spent a whole afternoon in the gardens and play parks. Children and adults enjoyed the play garden especially the musical areas. The big bunny was great to see. Children did the sheet to find the white rabbits and fill in the names, great idea to involve children. We didn't walk round all the areas so would certainly return.

If you have never been to a Scotish Castle I recommend Brodie Castle. Why? It is in the countryside away from traffic with plenty of parking. There is a very well organized tour with plenty of time to ask questions without feeling pressured. Several cafes are on the grounds with picnic tables to enjoy a lunch or snack. There is a playground for children. There are trails through the woods to follow . Clean bathrooms are on-site.

Lovely castle and estate to have an adventure in. Nice walks and plenty to do for children. Large parking area with a charge of £5. Entry to castle was £16 for adults and £9 for children. You couldn't go here and not bother with the castle tour and still have a great time. There is also a cafe with an indoor soft play also.
