Padar Island

Island
Nature & Parks
Padar Island, located in the Komodo National Park near Labuan Bajo in Indonesia, is a picturesque destination known for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking panoramic views. The island boasts three distinct beaches with white, pink, and black sand. Visitors can embark on a 20-minute uphill hike to reach the main viewpoint and witness the stunning beauty of all three beaches from above.
Padar Island is the first stop on the day trip package with most touring operators. You get to climb the top of the hill here and see some breathtaking views of the nature, the hike is worth the effort. The steps are easy to climb on except at the last section where it gets a little difficult for people who are mostly sedentary otherwise.

This piece of island is simply stunning. Upon reaching the island, you’ll be greeted by the carefree and beautiful deers that reside there. We had the good fortune of arriving earlier, so the crowd wasn’t there. We made the ascent, which takes around 20-30 minutes depending on your fitness level. However, there are stops along the way with breathtaking views and photo opportunities. But the best part comes when you reach the summit. You’ll be glad you made it here, and the view is absolutely breathtaking. The crystal-clear waters along the curved shoreline, the waves crashing against the rocks, and the entire backdrop are too magnificent to be described in words. We spent a few minutes enjoying the peace and quiet before the place started to fill up with people. Luckily, we got what we needed. 😊

It was a significant hike if 815 steps but the breathtaking view makes it totally worth it! Wear sneakers instead of slippers and bring your water coz you will sweat. Not recommended for unfit aged persons

Padar Island is one of the most famous and photographed destinations within **Komodo National Park** in Indonesia, renowned for its incredible panoramic views. 1. Iconic Viewpoint and Beaches The Famous View: The main draw is the relatively short, but steep, hike to the island's summit. From the top, you get a breathtaking 360-degree vista of the rugged, savannah-covered island and its three crescent-shaped bays. Tri-Colored Beaches: What makes the view unique is that the three bays visible from the top each have a beach with a different colored sand: White Sand,Black Sand(volcanic in origin),Pink Sand (due to pulverized red coral mixing with the white sand, similar to the famous Pink Beach nearby) 2. Location and Access Location:Padar is the third-largest island in Komodo National Park, situated between Komodo Island and Rinca Island in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Access:The island is uninhabited and is visited primarily by boat tours. Starting Point:The gateway to the park, and Padar Island, is Labuan Bajo on the island of Flores. Travel Time: A boat trip from Labuan Bajo to Padar Island typically takes about 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the type of boat (speed boat is faster). Tour Options:Most visitors take a day trip or are on a multi-day liveaboard tour that includes Padar, Komodo, Rinca, and Manta Point. 3. Hiking and Activities The Hike:The trek to the viewpoint is generally considered moderately challenging due to the steep incline, but it's short, usually taking 30-45 minutes to reach the top. The trail now features a mix of wooden stairs, stone steps, and dirt path sections. Best Time to Hike: To avoid the intense heat, most tours aim for a sunrise or late afternoon/sunset hike for the best golden light for photography. Other Activities:Visitors can also swim, relax on the different colored beaches, or enjoy snorkeling/diving in the surrounding clear waters, which are known for rich marine life. 4. Important Note No Komodo Dragons:While the island is part of Komodo National Park, Padar Island is largely free of the famous Komodo dragons (though historically they were present). For dragon sightings, you will need to visit the neighboring Komodo Island or Rinca Island with a park ranger.

Padar Island is a rugged, volcanic island in Komodo National Park, Indonesia, known for its stunning panoramic views, diverse beaches, and dramatic landscapes. Visitors hike to the summit for iconic viewpoints and can find beaches with white, black, and even pink sand on a single island. The best time to visit depends on weather and crowd preferences, with a peak season from June to August and a shoulder season from April to May or September to October
Mohd A — Google review
Arrive here at arround 8 AM and already packed up with tourist, recommend to go here at low season so it does not get to crowded when you arrive at the top, the views from the top viewpoint are incredible and really worth with the hike with many steps. The beach is also very beautiful
Matheus S — Google review
The morning at Padar Island felt like stepping into a dream. As the first light began to touch the sky, the soft hues of orange and pink painted the hills and sea in the most magical way. The air was cool and gentle, carrying the faint sound of birds chirping from somewhere between the cliffs a natural melody that made the whole island feel alive 🏝️ Climbing up to the viewpoint before sunrise was a bit challenging, but every step felt worth it once I reached the top. Standing there, watching the sun slowly rise over the three curved bays, I felt this quiet sense of awe. The view was beyond words layers of golden light kissing the ocean, calm waves shimmering, and the soft rustle of morning wind brushing through the grass. If you ever visit, come early. Listen to the birds, watch the sky change colors, and let the beauty of the island fill your heart. It’s not just beautiful it’s legendary. 🌅
Selva P — Google review
Padar Island is actually insane. The hike is lowkey a workout but the view at the top is just breath taking and genuinely worth every single step. The layered hills and different coloured waters look unreal, like straight out of a wallpaper or drone edit. The scenery is so aesthetic it does not feel real at all. If you are into nature, photos, or just chasing main character moments, this place delivers. Pure vibes, pure beauty, 10/10 must visit if you are anywhere near Komodo.

Pink Beach

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Pink Beach, located in Komodo National Park, is a stunning destination known for its pale pink sandy shores and crystal-clear waters. The beach is a popular spot for snorkeling and diving due to the vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. Its unique color comes from the mixture of white sand and red coral fragments, creating a picturesque pink hue.
It’s pink, yes but the colors that dance with the ocean. The blue skies and the white sand is amazing. There is no toilet, just saying. The bushes will be your best friend. More @zsoltzsemba

✨ Pink Beach in Komodo is absolutely stunning — soft sand with a natural pink shade, crystal-clear water, and amazing snorkeling. A unique and peaceful spot that feels like paradise — definitely worth visiting while in Bali & Komodo! 🌸🏝️
Tatiana K — Google review
The Pink Beach on Padar Island is often referred to as Long Pink Beach to distinguish it from Pantai Merah on Komodo Island. It is a stunning, lesser-visited alternative to the main Pink Beach. Here is a review and guide for visiting the Pink Beach on Padar Island: The Experience: Remote Beauty and Vibrant Color Vibrant Pink Sand: This Beach has a brighter, more vibrant pink hue than its counterpart on Komodo Island, making it a stronger contender for the "pinkest" beach in the region. The color comes from the crushed red coral fragments mixing with the white sand. Secluded Atmosphere:Because the main focus of Padar Island is the famous viewpoint hike, the Long Pink Beach tends to be **less crowded** than the one on Komodo Island, offering a more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Dramatic Backdrop:It is nestled in a cove on the northern side of Padar Island, backed by the same rugged, grassy, volcanic hills that make the Padar viewpoint so famous, creating a highly dramatic and picturesque setting. 2. Activities at Padar's Pink Beach The experience is usually a combination of the iconic Padar viewpoint hike and a visit to the beach. Snorkeling & Swimming:The water is crystal-clear and warm. It is an excellent spot for snorkeling, with vibrant coral reefs close to the shore, though some say the snorkeling is better at the Komodo Island Pink Beach. Relaxing Due to the fewer crowds, it's a perfect place to simply relax on the unique sand and soak up the sun. You can rent kayaks/canoes in the calm bay. | Photography The contrast between the brilliant pink sand, the turquoise water, and the surrounding green/brown hills makes it one of the most photogenic beaches in Indonesia. Local Vendors Unlike the main Komodo Pink Beach (Pantai Merah), the Long Pink Beach on Padar Island often has a few small local vendors (**warungs**) selling light snacks and cold drinks/coconuts. | Access:Padar Island's Pink Beach is only accessible by boat tour from Labuan Bajo, the gateway town to the Komodo National Park. In summary: If your primary goal is to see the most vibrant pink sand possible in a less crowded setting, the Long Pink Beach on Padar Island is often the preferred choice among travelers.

Pink Beach in Labuan Bajo is a beach in Komodo National Park which is famous for its pink sand. To reach there, you need to take a boat from Labuan Bajo, usually as part of a tour package to Komodo Island. This place offers beautiful scenery and activities such as snorkelling and swimming in the clear water with coral reefs that are rich in marine life.
Mohd A — Google review
This pink beach is beautiful but the shore is a little bit too short. I should have gone to another pink beach on Padar Island one.

Reality is different from web info. Come in October which is already a low season, still, way too many human around than fishes and too much rubbish. Not really that natural consider the amount of shops here, something needs to be done before this place got trashed.
Frankie L — Google review
Beautiful beach with soft pink tinged sand. Enjoyed a fresh coconut for 40k.
Ghifaroza — Google review
A breathtaking place where wild green islands meet the calm ocean. The atmosphere is both peaceful and powerful, making it feel truly special. The sand has a soft pink hue, though not as bright as in some edited pictures – but still unique and beautiful in its natural way. What doesn’t belong here is the trash. Instead of endless drone and selfie-stick sessions, each boat could easily take a bag of garbage back to help preserve this paradise. Overall, an unforgettable spot with stunning scenery and a rare pink touch on the beach.

A very historical place , however the maintenance is pretty low, am afraid the value will be lessen by that.
Yulia H — Google review
This is the Palace of Bima Sultanate, a palace built in the central part of Bimanese land, which once has a very long history of Bimanese civilization from Bima Hindu-Buddha Kingdom to Bima Islamic Sultanate period. This palace is restored by the last Bimanese Sultan, Muhammad Salahuddin, in 1929 in the Dutch colonization era of Indonesia which created a blend of Bima Sultanate and Dutch Colonial architectural styles. A wooden-based building called Asi Bou Palace then built to be used as a temporary replacement palace during the restoration. The Palace of Bima Sultanate and the Mosque of Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin along with Serasuba or the plaza in front of them are 3 main components made up an integrated complex which can also be seen in many parts of Indonesia that had passed through the same historical Hindu-Buddha Kingdom and Islamic Sultanate period. The plaza which in the Bimanese language is called "Serasuba" consists of two words, "Sera" which means land and "Suba" which means spear. In this case, "serasuba" can be clearly intepreted as the land to rule. The plaza is used as the main place for holding big events such as kingdom/sultanate ceremonies, religious celebration days, or days when the king/sultan announces big things to his people. Over time, during the independence of Indonesia, this building changed its function to become an army barracks then a government office. Finally, after Indonesian independence, it becomes as a museum named the Museum of Asi Mbojo. This museum presents the most complete data and information of Bima's history. Its contents include: -nature, geographic, flora and fauna that exists in Bima landscape; -cultural traditions in Bima such as houses, clothing, weapons and heirlooms, traditional ceremonies such as weddings in the palace environment as well as in the ordinary community environment; -Bimanese civilization starting from the era of hunting and fishing, farming and cultivation, the Hindu-Buddha kingdom era, the Islamic sultanate era, the Dutch colonial era, to the era of Indonesian independence.

Wonderful history, gold keris collections is epic, but extremely need more renovation, need more museum designs improvement, interactive displays and more creative collections and contents. Garden need more local plants collections. Overall is worth to visit the museum.

Used to be palace. Open only from tuesday-saturday from 07.30 til 14.30. Ensure you come during that time because some rooms only open in visiting time. I came late but still can get in but not to some specific rooms. Beside the palace they have Taman Bacaan (reading house). In some spots, society use it to do some activities.
FeMz S — Google review
Tickets only 5000 rupiah for locals and you can freely explore the Palace. Not sure if there's any guide available
Lost B — Google review
One common thing about museums is that we can have a look at ancient goods from the past, learn the history from captions, posters and many printed information. The admission ticket is Rp. 2.000 which is very cheap. The very special thing about this place is I had the opportunity to get more information about the displayed goods from a senior guide who possesses thorough knowledge on history of Bima, people and places.

FIRMAN Surflessons & -guiding Lakey Peak

Surf school

Surfing, Windsurfing & Kitesurfing
I recently spent an unforgettable week surfing with Firman at Lakey Peak, and I can't recommend his services enough. Firman's ability to read the ocean and direct line-ups is unparalleled. He has an incredible knack for guiding surfers to the best spots and pushing them to the edges of their comfort zones, all while ensuring safety and fun. Thanks to Firman's expertise, I managed to catch the biggest waves of my life and feel more comfortable in the water than ever before. His support went beyond just catching waves—he was there for every surf-related need, providing invaluable advice and encouragement. What stood out most was how Firman became a trusted guide for my girlfriend, who is still a lower intermediate surfer. He was patient, supportive, and tailored his guidance to help her progress confidently. We’ll definitely be back soon to surf with Firman again. If you’re heading to Lakey Peak, do yourself a favor and book some time with him—you won’t regret it!
Mike B — Google review
Top surf guide. Great fun to surf with, exactly the right amount of encouragement and great wave reading ability. Brilliant at building confidence in bigger waves. Best waves of our trip so far. Make sure to surf the Peak with Firman. He will get you good waves! Thanks Firman! See you next time!
Lloyd W — Google review
I needed a surf guide for my 3 kids (14-16-18 years) and me who had little experience with waves > 5 ft. Firman and his surf buddy Arman were very professional and friendly while teaching us 2 sessions at Lakey beach how to read the waves and catch the appropriate ones for us. First day we went to Nungas, wave height 4-5 ft, which was a good starter. Second day Firman took us to Lakey pipe, which scared at first my kids because of the bigger sets (+10 ft). But Firman and Arman managed to feel confident and surf some (smaller) waves at Lakey Pipe in all safety (at high tide when waves are more mellow). It was absolutely magical for my kids and me to surf at that location. I can fully recommend Firman for surf lessions & guiding, even if wave size seems to big for your skills.
Thomas H — Google review
Firman is an excellent surf guide! Caught the best waves of my life surfing with him. He is calm and supportive, an expert of all the local waves and knows when to challenge you. Firman is also a lovely guy and brings good vibes to every lineup. Highly recommend!
Karina S — Google review
One of the best coaches I’ve ever met! 🙌 Not only does he focus on technique, but he also works on mindset. 1.5 weeks of training was incredible – I’ve learned so much and my surf skills have grown. Feeling so grateful and happy! 🥰💪 Firman, you're an amazing coach!
Анна П — Google review
I’ve learned more in two weeks with Firman than in the last two years combined. He is, without a doubt, the best surf coach I’ve ever had. What sets him apart? Confidence, knowledge, and an instinct for exactly what his students need. He’s the only coach who’s ever been confident enough to take me into big waves—waves I never thought I could handle—and make me feel completely safe the entire time. Every session was next-level. He knew exactly which waves were right for me, how to push me while keeping me in control, and how to fine-tune my technique in ways no one else ever has. His coaching isn’t just good—it’s on another level. He doesn’t just teach; he knows. He reads the ocean, he reads his students, and he puts both together with an insane level of confidence and skill. I’ve never felt so supported, so safe, and so capable in the water. If you want real progress, real breakthroughs, and a coach who actually knows what he’s doing, Firman is the one. Big thanks to you! Will definitely not the last time! Best surf experience I’ve ever had! Lakey - the best place to surf!
Melanie B — Google review
firman is definitely one of the best guides I've had in my surfing life. If not maybe the best. He knows exactly how to assess the level of his customers and always tries to find the perfect conditions. I came to him to become more familiar with my left-hand waves. Absolutely trustworthy person! He accompanied me on bigger surfs and always made me feel safe. He helped me make great progress with my maneuvers. He knows the spots and conditions like the back of his hand and, by the way, he's also one of the most fearless and badass surfers. Absolutely fair price/performance ratio. firman is THE address if you need guiding in leaky. I will definitely come back and go surfing with firman again. Best man!
Susanna P — Google review
Firman was one of the best surf teachers I had so far! He tackles your comfort zone, keeps you safe and knows the waves in Lakey by heart. When I came here I couldn't imagine surfing such big waves, I was always super scared - but Firman did an amazing job, picked the waves which were good for my level, communicated with other surfers in the water and kept us in a safe spot while waiting for the next wave. I had a really good time in Lakey and would definitely book Firman again if I would come back. Thank you Firman for the good time 👍🙏😊

Mount Tambora

Mentioned on
1 list
Volcano
Outdoor Activities
Mount Tambora, also known as Tomboro, is an active stratovolcano located in the northern part of Sumbawa, Indonesia. Before its massive eruption in 1815, it stood at over 4,300 meters high. The eruption was the most powerful ever recorded and had global consequences, leading to a significant drop in temperatures worldwide and earning the year 1816 the nickname 'The Year Without a Summer.' The ash from the eruption spread across the globe.
I'm not a mount climber, the view just came across when I was in airplane from Labuan Bajo. From the airplane window, the view was breathtaking, can't imagine how great it is live from the mountain peak. Hope someday I can visit this place.
Fahmi F — Google review
Iconic volcano. Lots of interesting information on the Internet. Climbing is free from the east side of Oi Sengari. The climb took a day one way. The route is 25 kilometers long. You can use an off-road motorcycle. The route is long but very gentle
Виктор В — Google review
Mount Tambora via Kawinda Toi is a very pleasant hike. I like the trek from this route because there are no leeches. You will encounter some wild boars when you hike in this trek. unlike hiking other mountains in Indonesia, we started the hike from sea level which made it very challenging with hot weather. I highly recommend any serious hikers to hike this historic mountain if you have time to visit Sumbawa Island!
Griselda M — Google review
Mount Tambora is on the island of Sumbawain present-day Indonesia (formerly part of the Netherlands East Indies). Although its eruption reached a violent climax on 10 April 1815,[2] increased steaming and small phreatic eruptions occurred during the next six months to three years. The ash from the eruption column dispersed around the world and lowered global temperatures, in an event sometimes known as the Year Without a Summer in 1816.[3] This brief period of significant climate change triggered extreme weather and harvest failures in many areas around the world. Several climate forcingscoincided and interacted in a systematic manner that has not been observed after any other large volcanic eruption since the early Stone Age. Although scientists have proven that the post-eruption climate changes and the Tambora eruption are linked, they have only an incomplete understanding of the processes involved.[4]

i visit tambora a month ago, and it's really beautifull.. although not many people got here, and tambora itself not as famous as rinjani.. but, when you go up there, you will see a magnificent scenery, a beauty of nature.. i hope the government take more care of it, so that many people will go here.. try to add more public transportation, adding some promotion will help.

super vulcano with a stunning crater you can hike from pancasila (normaly hike) or from doro canga (you can ride a jeep)

Tambora is known for its major eruption in 1815. The Eruption That Changed the World. The explosion of Mount Tambora is the largest ever recorded by humans. To reach the top of the mountain, there are also some pretty good spots, such as Oi Marai Waterfall, and a Savanna or wide grasslands before reaching the top of the mountain. we can see various local wild animals such as deer, wild horses and colorful birds.

Mojo Island, a hidden gem just 3 kilometers north of Sumbawa, is an enchanting destination that feels like paradise. This small island boasts stunning white sandy beaches and lush nature reserves, making it perfect for those seeking tranquility. Visitors can explore the breathtaking Mata Jitu Waterfall and enjoy the refreshing waters that cascade down its green surroundings. The journey to this picturesque spot involves a scenic boat ride, which adds to the adventure as you navigate through beautiful landscapes.
Beautiful island with still few tourists. This will change in a few years as all the beach front properties apparently have been bought up. Good snorkelling (walk - 1 1/2 hours to Crocodile Head) for very beautiful corals and a lot of aquarium fish, but snorkelling right of the beach at Labuan Aji is also good. Close at the warf there is a warung with a beautiful Gado-Gado and other very good dishes… just ask. As mentioned in other reviews the Mata Jitu waterfall is very, very picturesque! Just behind this waterfall (left hand side) is actually a small cave which nobody really sees. It is quite nice too. 150k for Mata Jitu waterfall when the ranger is around… There is another nice waterfall not far away from Labuan Aji (20 minutes???) which is also nice although not as picturesque as Mata Jitu, but free of charge 😀 Going back to Sumbawa Besar is by a noisy boat (sit on the left-hand - port side - as the engine outlet is on the starboard side). 100k and it leaves at 7am. Be on time as it leaves usually between 7 and 7:15.

I agree with a story about Lady Di visited this island and seemed to like it a lot. It is indeed a beautiful island. The beauty of the island with waterfall Diwu Mbai pays off hours of land transport and sea by a medium-sized boat. Tracking the route to the waterfall through woods and rivers really releases day-to-day pressure. On the way back home right in the middle of the sea, we stopped by a tiny island of Sejele' to have snorkling and photo taking.

One of the best island that I ever visit and love it, still virgin, there are 3 water fall, very green, friendly village peoples, nice for snorkeling and fishing!

I highly recommend going with a local guide. The water is fresh and well protected. I feel all negative energy being cleansed here.

One of the prettiest and crystal clear waterfall I’ve ever seen ! There were 2 entrances to reach this waterfall, both needed to cross a beautiful river. The local guide and park ranger were nice too!

It's spectacular water fall, crystal clear water, cool, natural. Located in Moyo Island, Sumbawa, West Nusa tenggara, Indonesia. The road isn't so good. Take motorbike-taxi Rp 100.000. Legal entrance ticket. Rp 150.000 for foreigners, but if you have KITAS or KITAP, price will be the same as local visitors. Free parking. 15 minutes walking from parking area to the waterfall. Don't forget to bring your own drinking water. Please, don't litter. Must go there while you're in Moyo Island.

Such a great spot to go. You can jump from the watertall but be really careful not to drop on the rock. Water is fresh with its unique green color. The guide told us its high in calcium thats why moss isnt easy to grow, made it easier for us to step on the rock (not slippery). Should go here with guide and also rent ojek. Totally worth it

The most incredible, Beaty & clear waterfall I have ever been. Highly recommend ❣️nature there is amazing 🤩
Karolina U — Google review
This is probably the nicest waterfall I've seen in Indonesia so far and I've seen quite a few. I really enjoyed the walk to and from the waterfall although I would probably go a little earlier or much later next time to avoid the heat of the midday sun. I had the place to myself for quite a while although I did encounter two groups that had come off the island hopping boats. There is a lovely man that offers tea, coffee and limited soft drinks at the falls itself and there was another man selling honey near the entrance when I was leaving. Keep any eye out for monkeys on the way...

Beautiful area. Clean clear water. Well worth the bumpy 20 minute ride to get there.

This place is incredible but please make sure you get a ticket when paying the 150k. No ticket is a scam. We had someone at the scooter parking say it was 150k each, didn’t give us a ticket when we asked and then it caused some trouble with the official ticket guys at the waterfall!

Nature & Parks
Pulau Kenawa is a hidden gem that offers an idyllic escape for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. This uninhabited island, characterized by its lush grasslands and pristine beaches, is perfect for camping under the stars or soaking in breathtaking sunsets. To reach this paradise, travelers can hop on a public speedboat from Lombok to Sumbawa Island before taking a private boat to Kenawa, along with other stunning nearby islands like Kambing and Ular.
The most iconic island in Sumbawa, this island so beautiful. We need to hike up to see the view from the top. View from the top is sooooo amazing. And our group so lucky because only us on this island

We came here as part of a tour. The place itself has limited infrastructure, small shop and small hut for eating. We went up the view point and the views over the sea to the other islands was very special and very peaceful.

Very beautiful island. Private island. From lombok island we go to sumbawa island here by public speed boat then we go to kenawa island, kambing island (beautiful island too), ular island, paserang island by private boat. There was no signal (telkomsel) on this island 😆 To go to the top kenawa island we trekking about 1 hours. From up there we can see beach, mountains, many islands and also enjoy sunset too. We get lucky, we can see rainbow too... Priceless 💓
Nata L — Google review
I was so lucky to be here and experienced a private island-like vibes on the afternoon. There was only me and my friend, so the whole land was ours to explore. The savanna and the small hill is the main attraction. If you go here on the dry season, you'll have the savanna all dry and beauty golden coloured. And to reach the top of the hill is easy. Best time to go here is when you want to enjoy the sunset. Although at this time, the top of the hill will be crowded by the travellers, but you still can have your spot. Another great things are this island allows travellers to camp. It's provided with toilet with clean fresh water and small convenient store (warung). At night, when the sky is clear, travellers will be able to see stars because the light polution is still low here.
Lugina P — Google review
So natural with clear blue water and so quite with great atmosphere to see sunrise and sunset. This place located in West Sumbawa Regency area where you must drive a car about 2 - 3 hours and rent a boat about 1 - 2 hours. So save your energy and money to visit this place. Correct Me If I'm Wrong, Thank you

Tanjung Ringgit is a remote peninsula with uneven terrain consisting of both cobbled and partially asphalted roads. However, the scenery from this location is breathtaking! From the precipice, one can behold the blended hues of the oceanic waters alongside pristine white sand. The view is so mesmerizing that it leaves an indelible impression in one's mind.
Tanjung Ringgit is very far, with cobbled roads and half asphalt. but the view in this place is amazing! from the cliff we can see the color of the ocean mixed with white sand. loading everything to be more beautiful. be careful when on the edge of a cliff because this cliff might fall.
Yoshe — Google review
Actually it's a nice place, the cliff view of south peninsula was beautiful. There is a lighthouse and some of historical place / relic like cannon and cave. You can also find a wild monkey around the lighthouse. The area is pretty wide, many track that lead you to different point. Most of them are lead to the cliff area for sightseeing or fishing spot. I think this place have potential for great tourist spot. Too bad the road was quite bad, it's rocky so be careful if you ride a ride. There is also no sign of the area, some path will become more unaccesable with bike [ stuck to sand ]. It's very hot and no place to take shelther. For now it's not a place for you who don't like adventure. Last, at some point there is trash around. People please bring your trash back if you not find any dump.

Pink Beach, also known as Pantai Tangsi, is a popular spot for snorkeling and photography due to its unique pink sand made up of coral fragments. The beach's color varies depending on the light, with the pinkish hue standing out against the turquoise waters. Visitors are advised to visit in the morning to fully appreciate the pink sandy beach, as it may not be as visible in the afternoon due to sunlight.
Overrated beach, quite empty and silente. Not the easiest tò reach and not really pink

Nothing pink to see here, the road down is horrible and not really a good spot to swim either. Don't waste your time on this spot, it probably had it's glory days before the pandemic now it just seems to be forgotten.

With a lot of imagination you can see a blush pink sand. I was quite disappointed. Took 1,5h from Kuta to this beach. The road is OK. It was quiet and the water very clear. I don’t think it was worth the trip.

Despite being affected by an earthquake, the village has shown resilience with minimal signs of damage thanks to quick rebuilding efforts supported by organizations like BNI bank.

Fish Landing Base

Seafood market

Flea & Street Markets
A must do when visiting the Pink beach, Gili Petelu and other gili islands nearby. Here, you can choose the fishes you like or a lobster fresh from the ocean and they cook them for you. The prices are surprisingly very affordable, I would even say very cheap. Imagine getting 1 kg of lobsters for only 600K. You can share them with up to 7 people. And they come with rice.
Adit — Google review
I went here to buy some fish to grill at Pink Beach... This feels like the biggest fish market on Lombok. The fish are fresh and big. And you can also buy sharks here. There are so many stray dogs here but don't worry, they won't attack you anyway.

You must come earlier here. Because if you came late you can't effort a beautiful sunrise more important is the price of fish become more and more expensive during to the bright day because you will buy the fish from higher level reseller. Maybe second or third or more hand of reseller.

Mount Rinjani

Mountains
Mount Rinjani, located in Lombok, is a massive active volcano known for its stunning natural beauty. It is often considered one of the most breathtaking volcanoes globally and features a crater lake with crystal-clear blue water at its summit. The area surrounding the mountain is lush and cool due to abundant rainfall and protection by forests and jungle. Hiking expeditions are available for those looking to explore this majestic natural wonder over multiple days.
Without doubt one of the best views in the world, at over three thousand seven hundred meters it’s absolutely breathtaking and that can be taken literally, as the climb to get here is very challenging. Statistically only twenty five percent of people who start make it to the top. So if you plan on coming to see the incredible vistas from the top be prepared for hot days at lower elevations and freezing windy conditions to the summit. Get fit, especially your legs, prepare months in advance by doing steep hikes on loose slippery terrain.
Jason ( — Google review
I did the 3D2N trek to the summit of Rinjani. It was an amazing experience. The hike is hard and some paths are dangerous but if you follow the guides and eat snacks and plenty of water you will have the best time. I was impressed with the porters and guides for hiking twice a week wearing flip flops. They are the real heroes!
Marco T — Google review
One of the most beautiful views on this planet and i have been hiking in Austria, Australia, New Zealand and Norway! We did 3D2N, the following things were included: apartment one day before the tour starts, transportation from the harbour to the apartment and then to the start location, from end location to kuta! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks were very filling and very good! Our guide was very nice and helpful. We had one porter for us both who carried our tent, sleeping mattress, sleeping bags, food, water and rubbish! Our clothes and stuff we had to carry ourselves of course. The hike is very difficult, because the ground is 1/3 of the hiking time very loose and sometimes slippery. You don’t make much kilometres, but you do gain a lot of altitude meters! You should be definitely very sporty, otherwise you will have bad muscle soreness the days after. And your knees will hurt during the trip if you don’t hike/walk a lot in your free time! Bring definitely warm clothes, big jacket, gloves, hat, warm socks, headlight and a face mask with you. If you don’t have, no worries you can borrow everything at the apartment the night before the tour starts! Good luck!
Katharina _ — Google review
Mount Rinjani offers breathtaking views, making it a trek well worth the challenge. I completed a 3D2N trek, with the second day being by far the toughest. On this day, we summited early in the morning, descended back to the Sembulan Crater Base Camp, trekked down to the crater lake, and then climbed back up to the base camp. When people say Rinjani is ten times tougher than Mount Kinabalu, they’re not exaggerating. My friend had to give up, which changed our plan, so instead of camping at the lake and taking a different route the following day, I had to ascend back up the same day. It’s absolutely critical to go with the right group—people who are highly motivated and in excellent physical and mental shape. The trek can be mentally exhausting, but you have to push through the tough moments. The final 200-300 meters to the summit is extremely challenging. The loose gravel constantly pulls you back—it's true that for every two steps you take, you’ll often slide back one or even two. Staying hydrated is essential, and I highly recommend doing some altitude training beforehand. Be prepared for intense heat and very muddy conditions throughout the trek. Make sure to cover up properly to avoid severe sunburns, as I learned the hard way—it took months for mine to heal. The trail is also dusty, so covering your backpack is crucial, and gaiters are a must, especially for the summit push. Even with ankle-high shoes, gravel will find its way in if you're not protected. Our guide wasn’t very transparent about camping arrangements on the second night, and we ended up camping at the same location. So, ensure you communicate and plan your stops clearly in advance. And always remember to tip your guide and porters. The porters, in particular, do an incredibly tough job, carrying all the heavy gear and setting up campsites, while we only need to focus on walking the mountain. Their hard work makes the experience smoother and more enjoyable for everyone. Overall, the trek is an incredible experience. The better prepared you are, the more you’ll enjoy it!
Rana S — Google review
Climbed the Mt Rinjani on a 3D/2N hike. Amazing experience, pretty easy if you are well trained but can be difficult from 50m before the summit. Had a lot of wind at the summit which was terrible but the view once up there was unbelievable at the sunrise. I recommend if you are looking for a bit of challenge during your trip in Lombock.
Tom L — Google review
Unlike most people, we decided to hike up to the summit at around 3pm, and made it to the top at around 8pm. It was already dark by then but we were able to see an amazing sunset all by ourselves. Plus, going early in the morning for the sunrise also means that (1) you need to wake up at 2am and (2) you hike up with TONS other people, making the hike up the summit a lot harder and slower. I highly recommend going at 3pm instead.
Pablo H — Google review
Great but extraneous hike! Often offered by tour companies as part of a 2, 3 or 4 day experience. I paid 200 USD per person (you could get it for maybe 180 USD) for a group 1 night-2 day hike. During the dry season the pebbles all along the trail make it hard to walk; you often feel lime you are talking 2 steps forward and one bike. Do try it, but make sure you are fit and have hiking sticks if you want to make it to the top. 2 day option feels rushed (only go for summit) and I heard similar comments for the 3 day option, so please try the 4 day if you get the chance and like nature
Juan L — Google review
Chill hike except the last stretch that is slightly challenging. Good view for those who made it to the summit. No training needed but would bring thicker socks for sleeping

Tetebatu Waterfall is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike, offering a wonderful natural experience. To reach the waterfall, visitors must walk through a river and wooden bridge, making water shoes and a dry bag essential during the slippery rainy season. The area can get crowded, but the stunning nature makes it worth the visit. Local guides are recommended to explore the rice fields and waterfall thoroughly. The entry fee is around 25k IDR per person.
Amazing waterfalls, perfect for some swims, some have deep water to jump into. Recommend a tour to combine with rice fields and monkey Forrest. The gorges are amazing to walk through, some almost like caves

Amazing jungle walk to the first 2 Falls. Lots of stairs but totally worth it. Our guide was great and exceptionally knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. Go early to avoid the crowds.
J.C B — Google review
Nice waterfall, but don't expect anything extraordinary. The way is pretty easy to find. Either paths shown on Google maps are fine. The one from the north going through the fields is beautiful. For some reason, the morning I went there (8.40 am), there was a locked gate on the final stairs to the river. A local offered later to open it, but I didn't have the time to go back. So, be aware of it, don't come too early. They likely open it around 9 am.
Adrien — Google review
Cool waterfall. But as always charged 20k pp for existing. There is a small bridge build in the first part. But the second part is tricky to get to. You need to walk 5 minutes trough shallow waters with a medium current. And are bound to get wet pants. Result is cool, but not so breathtaking as to charge 20k
Nino P — Google review
For sure fun to goto. 20k entrance fee, we arranged our 4yr old to get free access. We actually past it coincidentally while walking through the rice terraces (navigate to 'rice terrace view').

It’s a nice waterfall and bigger the Durian Waterfall just down stream with a better swimming spot, however it’s still just an OK waterfall, it’s really the amazing rice paddies nearby that are the attraction, still swim if you must as it’s refreshing

Also huge thanks to our driver Kiki, who drove back and forth from Senggigi all the way to Tetebatu to pick us up. 🙌 Highly recommend this day trip!

Adi and Kiki were both incredible! Kiki took us to Tetebatu and gave us history lessons on the way there and Adi was a great tour guide that explained the process of making rice and how to make coconut oil. It was a great tour to walk around the villages and see the locals with their day to day lives. The waterfalls were also really good and refreshing! Thank you so much to the team for a great experience!!

Great day tour with Johnny!! We stayed a few days in Gili Air and wanted to do a day trip to Lombok from Gili Air. To be honest, we prefer to choose the tour guides on our own instead of just being chatted up on the street. After a little online research we came across Johnny and didn't regret it one bit. We spoke directly via WhatsApp because we found an interesting offer for a day tour on Johnnys website to be quite appealing (Tetebatu Walking Tour). Johnny was super spontaneous and flexible, so he organized our pick-up directly from Gili Air, although the trips usually start in Lombok. A private speedboat picked us up from the front door of our accommodation and brought us back later. It was only 10 minutes by speedboat to Lombok. When we arrived in Lombok, the driver gave us a friendly welcome (named Ivan?). Of all the drivers we had in the 4 weeks, he was the best. Because the journey to Tetebatu took a good 90 minutes drive, we were glad to have Ivan as our driver. He also kept us supplied with water. We also needed a pharmacy (pharmacies on Gili Air are a joke). Our driver then went straight to all possible pharmacies (most of them were still closed) until we found one. Johnny kept calling to check if we were okay, etc., very attentive. Finally arrived at the meeting point, there was real Lombok coffee and by far the best banana pancake (we had about 500 banana pancakes on our vacation, none were that good) as breakfast. Because we left the accommodation at 6 a.m., we didn't have breakfast. But Johnny took care of it and we didn't have to stay hungry. Then we took a walk through the great rice fields and Johnny told a lot about cultivation, harvest and the different types of rice. Then we walked to the nearby village, Johnny is known all over the place, so we had a little chat with the locals everywhere. We were shown the process of making coconut oil and explained by Johnny - quite exciting to watch. During our walking tour we passed by a waterfall that was hidden in sort of a cave - very beautiful!!  Afterwards Johnny took us to a village where part of his family lives. Thanks Johnny for letting us into your family's private four walls, that was actually the highlight! Warm hospitality from his grandma and great-grandpa! It was something different to enjoy a Lombok coffee sitting on the floor in a bamboo hut, with such great company. Thank you for letting us experience this! In the end we went to see some real wild life Black Monkeys in the monkey forest (nothing like the touristic monkey forests in Ubud). All the entrance fees and the lunch were also included in the price. We paid by Paypal which was very comfortable for us. So be sure to book your excursion with Johnny, he is very organized, professional and above all very funny, we were always joking around and were having fun. Johnny stay healthy! Silvana & Ida

Amazing experience hiking Mt Rinjani with Boko and his crew from Jonny Tour Guide. We hiked to the 2nd summit where we saw the sun rise from behind the 1st summit, which was stunning. We loved seeing the lake, Mt Agung in Bali, and also the Gili Islands from the top. The route we went was mostly shaded by the jungle, which made a challenging walk a lot more enjoyable. The food on the hike was really good too! We loved Tetebatu because the people were so welcoming, and the surrounding landscape of rice fields and hidden waterfalls was beautiful to say the least. We would highly recommend the 2 day 1 night hike and a visit to Tetebatu if you are coming to Lombok!

We had a great day that started with Kiki, our driver, picking us up and looking after us all the way to Tetebatu. He was extremely friendly and always checking in in case we needed anything. The tour of tetebatu itself was amazing and Adi was an excellent tour guide - a very sweet and nice guy! Really worth the visit as you get to see a different and more authentic side to Lombok. Highly recommend it

I took the Snorkelling tour day trip to Gili Islands with Jonny tour. Everything was perfect with our driver @Jamil and our boat captain @Ardhi. We took so many good photos and videos with Go Pro provided by the boat. It was a memorable experience for us seeing beautiful fishes, corals and sea turtle. Definitely recommended Jonny tour if you want to explore Lombok or Gili islands!

Waterfalls
Sendang Gile Waterfall Gate 2 is a stunning two-tier cascade located at the base of Mount Rinjani in Senaru town, North Lombok.
There are 2 waterfalls here, takes about 15 mins to reach the first one, lots of steps up and down but proper, so still doable for most abled persons. The first waterfall is a smaller one, so going down near it just feels like getting into a light drizzle rain with a really cool breeze. From here we walked further in to the second one, this one requires a higher level of fitness, crossing mud paths, rock paths and ankle-deep river stream. There were a few times I felt the constraints of my short legs, having to stretch to the max to reach the next step. Luckily our young guides took very good care of us, providing extra anchor and support to lead us through. I felt bad for them at times, worrying that with my weight, I would end up pulling them off, causing them to fall over instead. Amazing sight at the bottom of the 2nd waterfall! The water pressure is so huge, just standing near it felt like we were caught in heavy rain. But the mist it created in the air, under the daylight, was dreamy. One may soak in the water (kinda cold though) and even go under the waterfall itself, but exercise caution. While it's not deep, the high pressure may be suffocating (as experienced by one of my friends). Proper footwear is highly recommended for this visit, my walking shoes which worked great for the first part were totally soaked thru by the time we got to the 2nd waterfall. Then we had to go back the way we came to exit the area. Enroute back, at the first waterfall, there's the option to pay for a motorbike ride back up, but the bikes looked small and the path looked tight. I was worried about falling off the bike and down the forest, so I passed on it. The entire journey from start to end took almost 2.5 hrs on foot, can be longer if we had more water fun at the waterfall.

Entry costs 20k per person. They'll try to sell you a guide for the waterfalls for 200k. It's a good way to support the locals, but if you want to go alone, that's no problem. We didn't see any monkeys, and the paths are well marked.

We really enjoyed our trip here. Hubby and I organised it with a local that we hired in the Gili Islands for a snorkling trip. The walk in is easy but there are steep steps at the end. It is well worth it. Going back we took a motorbike ride out with the locals at a small extra cost. I recommend checking it out.

Just like many others, we were told that we can’t enter unless we pay 400k for two persons and get the “obligatory” guide. The guy on the photo was one of the scammers. The other one - their boss smelled of alcohol and was the most aggressive. When we said we don’t have enough money, he escorted us to the atm and didn’t want to let go until we withdraw the money. Such a bad experience and the only one bad we had from the whole trip in Indonesia. Certainly not coming back to Lombok, which apparently doesn’t care much that scammers take over their island.

Steep steps but only for 15 minutes. Then you see a fantastic waterfall. You may be able to see little angry chimps there if you get lucky.

Amazing waterfall There are some local stalls to have some coffee☕️, tea 🍵 and some sweet to enjoy the serene waterfall. Just be aware of the monkeys 🐒, don’t feed them, else more will come 🐒 🐒 🐒 . The cost of the ticket is 20,000 IDR at the entrance. There is mo need to hire a guide as it is an easy trail. 😔There is no area to swim 🏊. You can continue to Tiu Kelep to enjoy a good dip.

This is a nice entrance and short walk to both waterfalls. Only talked into using a guide when we went in the afternoon but not in the morning (I went here twice as it was so nice). You don’t need a guide! There is another entrance further up the road and it’s a bit busier with a few cafes and bars along the road. Entrance fee is 20000 rupiah.

Exploring the houses reveals construction techniques and thatched roof replacements.

Amazing experience. Really saw how this tribe live. Most interesting bit was seeing how self sufficient they are in terms of growing their own cotton, cacao, rice, avocados and more. Our guide was wonderful- definitely worth getting a guided tour or it wouldn’t look like much.

We were greeted warmly by the people here in the village. Decided to pay a guide. Very interesting tour. Our guide explained their way of life and showed us many foods they grow themselves. Like avocado, vanilla, jackfruit, candlenuts, cacao, kapok, bubble plant, beetlenut, etc. We saw inside some of the houses. She explained how the houses were constructed and how and when the thatched roofs were replaced. The tour was definitely a good option. It was very informative.

Nestled in the lush jungle of Lombok, Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu Waterfall are two stunning cascades that require tickets for entry. The 20-meter-high waterfalls flow over moss-covered rocky outcrops, creating a refreshing oasis with swimming holes below. After cooling off with a swim, visitors can make their way to Senggigi, a coastal town about 90 minutes away.
Absolutely epic! We did a proper jungle hike where you get to see 4 different waterfalls, and honestly, it’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life. The trekking through the rainforest was already amazing, and being able to refresh ourselves in each waterfall made it even better. We went through the main office and hired a guide for 90k IDR each — 100% worth it. The trail is not something you’d want to wander alone if you’re not local. Our guide even helped us spot some black monkeys, which was a highlight. Without a doubt, this whole circuit is top, top and a must if you’re in the area (even if you’re an hour away).
Tomas A — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking! If you want to enjoy it more quietly, my tip is to arrive early :) Out of respect for cultural traditions, there are two waterfalls where you cannot wear a bikini, you must wear a sarong or simply be covered while in the water. I would highly recommend taking a guide. While it’s true that two of the waterfalls are easy to find (the ones where bikinis are not welcome), there are two others that are more hidden. It was really nice to have a guide showing us the way, being able to swim and feeling the powerful stream of water on my back :) As for those who complain about the entrance fee and guide cost, unless you are very short on money, I completely disagree. I paid 250 for two people, which included the entrance and the guide, and we stayed for two full hours. You are giving someone work, and like it or not, the place needs maintenance.
Melanie B — Google review
Love this fall. It's the furthest in of the 4 waterfalls here. You can ride in but be very careful as the road are rocky, not maintained. Upon arrival at entrance, if you intend to not engage a guide and ride your bike in, just proceed to official ticket office on the right, path above the parking shed and purchase ticket. No need pay for parking. After that, the booth will assign someone to guide you using his/her bike into the inside parking area near Stokel waterfall. After parking inside, we walked down the steps and wala, the waterfall with 2 wading pools. Had a great time swimming here. Water damn cold.
John T — Google review
I definitely recommend going there and doing all four waterfalls! My guide was Aini and she was AMAZING. I didn't expected hiking through the jungle and swimming in hidden waterfalls but it was the perfect day. She always made sure that I'm save and took amazing pictures and videos for me. So I get why people say its too expensive for the two waterfalls without guide but for just 160.000 you get waterfalls and jungle trek for hours with a personal guide; so totally worth it:)
Lara — Google review
Gorgeous waterfall. Quite cheeky with the 100 plus steps to get down to it. Ensure you are wearing appropriate swim wear, especially poigniant for the females. Take a sarong if needs be too to cover up but still enter the waterfall. The trip there on the bike is fun , about 2km's with a local albeit 35000 id each though there and back. This is not mentioned when you book or even pay at the entrance! Be warned. You can walk but 20mins + in the jungle is cheeky like. Especially uphill.
Ian W — Google review
80k for see 2 waterfalls and 100k all the 4 waterfalls. I think also is option without guide, but then you don’t squeeze the experience as you could. You have a local guide that shows and explains traditional and interesant things about that amazing place. He also carrys with your laggage and makes photos. Even with rain is a good option. You have places during the walk to stop, seat and drink something hot or fresh depending of what option you prefer. Also they have some points where you can eat something. Nice experience
Arnau L — Google review
Incredible experience and an amazing way to support local workers!! I loved that bikinis were banned out of respect to locals. Authentic and well worth the very small entrance and guide fee.

Tanjung Aan Beach, located in the southern part of Lombok, is a stunning 2km stretch of white sand and turquoise waters. Legend has it that the beach is home to Princess Mandalika, who transformed into a sea worm to escape unwanted suitors. Accessible via a rugged trail road from Kuta, this beach remains relatively undiscovered by tourists. It features iconic swings along the sandy coastline and is popular among surfers and sunbathers.
Tanjung Aan Beach has stunningly blue water and soft white sand, creating a picture-perfect tropical view. However, during my visit there was quite a bit of seaweed scattered along the shore, which made the sand look a little messy. Still, the scenery and the clear water are absolutely worth seeing
Asri D — Google review
Beautiful bay, easy to get to. Plenty of shady trees along the beach. Good surf for beginner to intermediate surfers (although busy) The usual vendors walking along the beach but they are not overly pushy and very friendly. Good place to relax. The western end of the beach/Bay is like a tip and full of rubbish and plastic. Breaks your heart to see that. The wind and tides seem to push it that way. It was filthy. The middle and East end (where the surf boats leave from) is much nicer and would recommend going there. When you turn into the road to the beach ride past the first entry on your right and keep going straight on the road. This will take to the middle of the beach. It's a nice walk along the beach when the tide is out.

*please bring water for the dogs, there are buckets to fill up at various points in the parking lot* It is one of the most beautiful beaches. The water is really blue and you can walk a long way in 🌴
Janette M — Google review
It could be a beautiful place but unfortunately there is so much plastic everywhere ! It's one side that they cleaned but not the other side. It's really sad 😢 Google show a few places to eat but everything is closed also, just a few vendors for surfing lessons and drinks
Anaïs L — Google review
Tanjung Ann Beach is the perfect spot whether you’re surfing or just relaxing. It’s super close to Kuta, which makes it really convenient to get to. The beach dogs are friendly and the sunsets here are absolutely beautiful. The only downside is the litter in some areas — otherwise it would easily be a 5/5!

One of the most beautiful beaches I have visited. Crystal clear water with a fabulous panoramic background. The bay is simply stunning!! They have just removed all the ‘Warungs’ (beach restaurants) so come prepared if you’re planning to spend several hours here.

Lovely beach, but be careful of this board shop owner called "Yoga". He hit me in the surf. We swam out to talk about the damages, and he proceeded to try and take my watch, punch and kick me, and eventually pulled a coconut machete on me, chasing me down the beach
Jacob S — Google review
The government came and destroyed every Warung. Now there are only one or two surfboard rentals left. It is very calm now and the sea is quiet. You can rent a board and a boat for 100.000 Rupiah and surf a little bit further out. It’s suitable for beginners and intermediate. I really enjoyed it there because you can totally relax in the shadow. Parking fee is 10.000. there is a little bit of trash where the water meets the beach but after a few meters the water is super clear!

Bukit Merese, located in Lombok, is a picturesque hill offering stunning panoramic views of the coastline and ocean. Just a short ride from Kuta, visitors can purchase drinks at the parking lot before embarking on a brief 10-minute walk to reach the summit. From there, they can enjoy sweeping vistas of the shoreline below and watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean.
Beautiful view up there! There are local people sell drinks and snacks so you can enjoy the view and beautiful sunset while having some food or drinks. But please don't let any waste behind 🥺 It can get crowded around the sunset time but there are lots of good spots to enjoy the sunset ♥️

Nice place to chill on evening, best time around 5.30pm, pick a best place to see sunset. You can feed dogs, but be careful of monkey. Need to pay 20k rupiah entry fees, 50k rupiah rent a motorbike to climb the hill and it is not compulsory but I drive a car in, I just scare my stuffs inside the car.
Cheah F — Google review
Amazing views of the sunset, short little easy hike up to the view point. Please note they tame 10000 for parking, there are multiple points to hike upto, you may choose as per your convenience. Also, keep your belongings safe, as there are monkies in the hill.
Wasim A — Google review
Nice hill that overlook the horizon. People says sunset here is nice, as for me who seen too many sunsets, it was just another sunset view, nothing spectacular. The hill itself is unique and you could have a nice picnic here on a cloudy day. Place is bare so with the sun, could be extremely hot. Like all "public area with good view" there will be illegal "checkpoint" to collect money to access this hill which is pure disgusting, but this is Lombok nowadays.
John T — Google review
This is one of the best spots for sunset in Kita Lombok. You can travel here easily by moped and it takes approximately 20k minutes to get there by moped. I would highly recommend you visit this place for sunset and to just chill out with a drink. You can buy drinks there as locals sell plenty of drinks. To park the moped it costs 10k but no other entry fee is required.

This place offers a wide open grassland with stunning views. If you’re lucky, you might spot water buffalo crossing the area. The site is well-maintained with plenty of trash bins, and there are small stalls selling water and snacks. It can get quite windy, so keep an eye on your belongings. Monkeys are also common here, so be cautious with your items.

Merese Hill or Bukit Merese, located near Tanjung Aan beach, is a must-visit spot, especially for those who love scenic views. It's a bit of a climb to the top, but the panoramic views of the coastline, the white sandy beaches, and the turquoise water are absolutely worth it. It will be perfect captured with drone. The best time to visit is during sunrise or sunset. The colors of the sky are absolutely stunning and create a magical atmosphere. You can see the sun rising or setting over the Indian Ocean, which is an unforgettable sight. The hill itself is covered in green and yellow savanna, depending on the season, which adds to its charm. There are a few spots for taking photos, including a small tree on the top of the hill that has become a popular photo spot.
Clara C — Google review
Bukit Merese is one of the most breathtaking spots on Lombok, where nature feels untouched by time. You can watch water buffaloes slowly wandering across the hills while eagles glide gracefully above, catching the last golden rays of the sun. The sunset here isn’t just beautiful — it’s a living spectacle of light, wind, and ocean. A perfect place to feel the true harmony of Lombok — where the earth, sky, and sea meet in silence and wonder. 🌿

It will cost you 10K IDR per car (no matter how many person on the car), and you can entrance to the Mandalika Princess Statue and Seger Beach. Parking area: Wide. Plenty bikes, cars, and busses, can park there Environment: • Merchant sellers will approach you, and they sell stuff and fresh coconuts with the makesense prices which still affordable. • Plenty street friendly dogs there. Note: Please check the weather and time before you come due to ebb or flow of sea water.

Pretty cool statue. Considering you’ll have to pay 10k for parking though it’s probably not worth a visit if coming by motorbike, unless you’re planning to watch the sunset on one of the large hills beside it, in which case it’s probably worth the price.

As what people have said, good to come have a look if you are around the area. Might not be worth 10k for parking, but is a common thing throughout this area.

Scooter mysteriously stopped working in the paid parking lot. If this happens to someone else maybe there is a scam. Still a nice place, maybe I'm just paranoid that a local did it to line his pockets.

It is great to take young children to Seger beach at which Patung Putri Mandalika is located. Putri Mandalika was a princess who threw herself into the sea for she refused to marry one of so many princes proposing her. Pantai Seger Kuta Lombok is a picturesque coastal region boasting a rugged, tranquil terrain and pristine white-sand beaches. It offers multiple vantage points to witness breathtaking sunsets and panoramic views of the bays, including a hill climb that provides an excellent view of the Pertamina Mandalika circuit for Moto GP enthusiasts. The area also hosts an annual festival for visitors to enjoy. However, some vendors can be overbearing and persistent in their sales tactics.
So beautiful beach and nearest area! Nice views, good for surfing, you'd can swim there too. Was there several times during my staying in Kuta. Note: the road is not so good in the end

Very crowded on Saturday. Parking os 20 minutes walk up.the hills to the beach, which can be a turn off if you have small kids and many things to carry. The beach and the sea was full of trash and plastic waste. Zero waves because it's a almost closed bay, so no surfing or jumping over the waves. There are 2 pretty quiet motor boats to bring people around the bay. Inflated car tires tubes are available for rent at IDR10,000. Coconuts and instant noodles soups / limited choice of snacks are sold by the locals. I was hoping to get some grilled fish since we were at the beach, to no avail. Luckily we brought rice + fried chicken from the house. The place is "famous" for watching the sunset but we didn't get to see it because it required climbing the hills again, and we saw no sunset from the sea level at all. It just suddenly got pitch black at 6pm. We had to climb the rocky hills with the phone led lights while carrying small kids and our belongings. Car park was IDR 10,000 upon entry, and there were security guards watching over it. Will we go there again? I'm afraid NOT. It's sad that the visitors shamelessly trash the place, and the locals only do a quick sweep nearby their pwn small hut selling the snacks. The place may look good on the photos but who wants to swim in a plastic waste waveless warm soup. The changing "room" was IDR 10,000 with nearly zero water pressure and no lights. Next time we'll go somewhere wild, hidden and unknown.

Beautiful beach off the beaten path, quite literally! Expect a dirt road for about 10 minutes, but that makes it all the more fun and worth the views you receive on arrival. 10k ticket to visit the beach.

View: Beautiful! Ticket: Cheap! It will cost you 10K IDR per car (no matter how many person on the car), and you can entrance to the Mandalika Princess Statue and Seger Beach. Parking area: Wide. Plenty bikes, cars, and busses, can park there Facility: • There is some shops/cafe that you can chill and enjoy the breeze • Public toilet, can't locked, smells bad. You need to bring your own tissue and pay 5k per person. Note: Please check the weather and time before you come due to ebb or flow of sea water.

It is a very nice beach with a great sunset spot. They will charge you for entry. Be mindful not to go to the left hill, since AGAIN they will ask for money… and the best view is on the hill next to the beach

Beautiful spot if it wasn't for the children selling their stuff in a manipulative way. On the other hand, the adult who has devised that tough selling method was darn good. Basically, there is no way to refuse them.

wonderful view at the top of the hill, entrance fee is 5000 rupees

Very nice place to hike up and watch the sunset. The only downside is the scammers in the parking lot sitting around asking for 10k IDR for “parking” which is probably a total scam because they do absolutely nothing. The view is nice but the local scammers aren’t a nice touch.

Sade Village, located in Lombok, is a traditional settlement of the indigenous Sasak people. The village is home to around 750 residents living in 150 thatched houses. It offers an authentic experience of Sasak culture, with its unique architecture and traditional weaving craft. Sade is renowned for its vibrant Ikat and Songket textiles, which are woven by local women. Visitors can explore the elevated woven huts, witness street performances, and purchase handmade textiles as souvenirs.
Visiting Sade Traditional Village in Lombok was an incredible cultural experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with traditional musical instruments, followed by a wonderful live performance. Here, you can explore traditional houses, learn about the local way of life, and even try your hand at weaving. There are also many souvenir stalls selling woven crafts and handmade items, which you can purchase to support the local community.

When you google this village, searches advise the entrance fee is “free”. This isn’t quite correct. Upon entering the village you are asked to sign in & give a “donation”. As well as this, you are expected to take a guide who also expects a tip after showing you around. I understand that this is how the village makes its money, but I do think the “advertising” is quite misleading. That being said, it’s a lovely & interesting place to visit to learn about the indigenous people & how they live.

A must visit Sade Village! It’s the best place to learn about Sasak culture and the roots of Lombok. The village feels authentic and peaceful, and our guide was really kind and informative. Such a great experience! For the entry cost you just need to pay as you wish, and you can also leave more as a tip special for the guide😇

A great place to experience the traditional Sasak culture and lifestyle. There’s no entrance fee, just a voluntary donation. A local guide will walk you through the village and explain their traditions and handmade crafts — very informative and friendly! Remember to give a small tip to your guide as appreciation. It’s a short but meaningful visit to learn about the real Lombok heritage.

A must visit place when you visit Lombok. A historical place for the indigenous people of Lombok. Here you will be guided by a guide (who is a local resident of Sade village, don't forget to give a tip) Then at the entrance you will pay a contribution fee. Your guide will take you on a tour of the village, showing you how the locals weave and paint. Make this visit a truly memorable experience.

Some of the nicest people you can meet. Entry and guide fees are voluntary (pay as much as you feel like). Rent hand woven traditional costumes to walk around a 1000 year old village. The guide tells you stories and you shop for hand made textiles and beautiful jewellery boxes, t-shirts, beads, while taking photos/videos. Even ATM across the road is hand made to look like Sasak house. I preferred the local spicy food at a warung opposite Capricorn, which is targeting westerners.

So interesting to take part of this ancient, still living village, and getting a brief understanding of the sasaknese lifes. Possibly a little too much commerse, but they sure need some money as well. I really recommend to go.

Great tour with our guide. You get assigned a guide who takes you on a tour of the place. You can go inside some of the little houses and observe the way of life there as it has been for 15 generations..
