Not the most attractive beach to be honest and very dirty in places. Plenty of resorts along the beach where you can go to the pools(for a fee). Plenty of food outlets across the whole spectrum of quality (😂) and a massive shopping mall along the boardwalk. Extremely tourist oriented and very busy.

This beach is filled with tourists, yet the ambiance feels relaxed and calm. Biked with my son along the path. Shops, food stalls around, Icon Mall Bali is here as well. (End of July 2025)

Sanur Beach is hands down my favorite sunrise spot in Bali. The vibe here is so much more relaxed compared to the busier southern beaches. I love how the golden morning light hits the traditional jukung fishing boats lined up along the shore - it's absolutely magical. This piece of island is simply stunning. Upon reaching the island, you’ll be greeted by the carefree and beautiful deers that reside there. We had the good fortune of arriving earlier, so the crowd wasn’t there. We made the ascent, which takes around 20-30 minutes depending on your fitness level. However, there are stops along the way with breathtaking views and photo opportunities. But the best part comes when you reach the summit. You’ll be glad you made it here, and the view is absolutely breathtaking. The crystal-clear waters along the curved shoreline, the waves crashing against the rocks, and the entire backdrop are too magnificent to be described in words. We spent a few minutes enjoying the peace and quiet before the place started to fill up with people. Luckily, we got what we needed. 😊

It was a significant hike if 815 steps but the breathtaking view makes it totally worth it! Wear sneakers instead of slippers and bring your water coz you will sweat. Not recommended for unfit aged persons

Padar Island is actually insane. The hike is lowkey a workout but the view at the top is just breath taking and genuinely worth every single step. The layered hills and different coloured waters look unreal, like straight out of a wallpaper or drone edit. The scenery is so aesthetic it does not feel real at all. If you are into nature, photos, or just chasing main character moments, this place delivers. Pure vibes, pure beauty, 10/10 must visit if you are anywhere near Komodo.

This pink beach is beautiful but the shore is a little bit too short. I should have gone to another pink beach on Padar Island one.

Reality is different from web info. Come in October which is already a low season, still, way too many human around than fishes and too much rubbish. Not really that natural consider the amount of shops here, something needs to be done before this place got trashed.

A breathtaking place where wild green islands meet the calm ocean. The atmosphere is both peaceful and powerful, making it feel truly special. The sand has a soft pink hue, though not as bright as in some edited pictures – but still unique and beautiful in its natural way. What doesn’t belong here is the trash. Instead of endless drone and selfie-stick sessions, each boat could easily take a bag of garbage back to help preserve this paradise. Overall, an unforgettable spot with stunning scenery and a rare pink touch on the beach.

Nothing pink to see here, the road down is horrible and not really a good spot to swim either. Don't waste your time on this spot, it probably had it's glory days before the pandemic now it just seems to be forgotten.

With a lot of imagination you can see a blush pink sand. I was quite disappointed. Took 1,5h from Kuta to this beach. The road is OK. It was quiet and the water very clear. I don’t think it was worth the trip.

Do NOT drive here with a scooter, the road is horrible, super dangerous, the monkeys are aggressive, the sea is not very nice, and the sand is not even a little pink. Go to the other pink beach, this one is not worth it.

I did the 3D2N trek to the summit of Rinjani. It was an amazing experience. The hike is hard and some paths are dangerous but if you follow the guides and eat snacks and plenty of water you will have the best time. I was impressed with the porters and guides for hiking twice a week wearing flip flops. They are the real heroes!

Probably the best viewpoint from the top of any hike I’ve ever been on. It was totally worth not being able to sleep at all in a tent for one night to get here. It’s definitely possible to do this in one day, but there’s a high chance of altitude sickness from going that fast and it also seemed like the mountain tends to be clearer in the mornings, so for both those reasons it’s probably best to hire a trekking company. The major downside to this is you’re potentially locked in to a single day to summit, so you really need to get lucky on the weather if it’s not peak dry season and also hope you don’t get food poisoning or something from the unhygienic campsites.

One of the most beautiful views on this planet and i have been hiking in Austria, Australia, New Zealand and Norway! We did 3D2N, the following things were included: apartment one day before the tour starts, transportation from the harbour to the apartment and then to the start location, from end location to kuta! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks were very filling and very good! Our guide was very nice and helpful. We had one porter for us both who carried our tent, sleeping mattress, sleeping bags, food, water and rubbish! Our clothes and stuff we had to carry ourselves of course. The hike is very difficult, because the ground is 1/3 of the hiking time very loose and sometimes slippery. You don’t make much kilometres, but you do gain a lot of altitude meters! You should be definitely very sporty, otherwise you will have bad muscle soreness the days after. And your knees will hurt during the trip if you don’t hike/walk a lot in your free time! Bring definitely warm clothes, big jacket, gloves, hat, warm socks, headlight and a face mask with you. If you don’t have, no worries you can borrow everything at the apartment the night before the tour starts! Good luck!

Great mountain - very challenging hike, hiking poles are an essential for the loose volcano scree towards the summit and for the path down. Biggest downside is the large amount of waste, plastic, food and human waste around the mountain - a cleaning fee should be imposed so that a cleaning team can clean up the mountain. No facilities are there either in terms of toilets or mountain huts, toilet facilities would be beneficial and a solution to fix the human waste issue (as seen in European mountain).

Amazing experience, we did 2 days/ 1 night. It's a difficult and intense trek because the ground is very technical but it deserves to be done because the view at the top is breathtaking.

Entry costs 20k per person. They'll try to sell you a guide for the waterfalls for 200k. It's a good way to support the locals, but if you want to go alone, that's no problem. We didn't see any monkeys, and the paths are well marked.

We really enjoyed our trip here. Hubby and I organised it with a local that we hired in the Gili Islands for a snorkling trip. The walk in is easy but there are steep steps at the end. It is well worth it. Going back we took a motorbike ride out with the locals at a small extra cost. I recommend checking it out.

Just like many others, we were told that we can’t enter unless we pay 400k for two persons and get the “obligatory” guide. The guy on the photo was one of the scammers. The other one - their boss smelled of alcohol and was the most aggressive. When we said we don’t have enough money, he escorted us to the atm and didn’t want to let go until we withdraw the money. Such a bad experience and the only one bad we had from the whole trip in Indonesia. Certainly not coming back to Lombok, which apparently doesn’t care much that scammers take over their island.

This is a nice entrance and short walk to both waterfalls. Only talked into using a guide when we went in the afternoon but not in the morning (I went here twice as it was so nice). You don’t need a guide! There is another entrance further up the road and it’s a bit busier with a few cafes and bars along the road. Entrance fee is 20000 rupiah.

Need to walk a bit around 600m to reach Sendeng Gile waterfall. There a few stall which sells noodle and banana fritter. Overall great experiences.

Location is easy to reach. Central city of Mataram. Old building. Thus the rapid development of the same shopping center is even more luxurious, but visitors have never left. Peoples who want to find branded goods, don't come here. You will not find such items especially foreign brands. Its only daily needs.

Rarely go here again because the place not really interesting for me. The newest spot that makes it still good to visit is because there is kid centre that can't be found in other places in Mataram. The mall doesn't change too much, so i don't really put this place as my hangout options.

Nice shopping place to get what you want. Mataram Mall is the biggest shopping center in Mataram. This mall was established in 2005. The mall consists of 3 floors with tenants - tenants who are well-known as big companies both national and international scale including Charisma, McDonald's, KFC, and many more.

Not very crowded, lift are broken sometimes. mall's parking management fee are somewhat pricey if you're in the mall for more hours, +1k per hour up to 6k for motorbikes. some other fast food services start opening here such as richese factory, mokko, etc. overall, okay

The mall has a variety of eating places and clothing stores. Shops with Islamic clothes seem to increase all the time, but other clothes are available, too. There are a variety of amusements to delight kids on both the ground and top floors. The outdoor swimming pool is quite nice, large and well maintained, with a kiddy and regular pool. There is no diving, though.

It's definitely a locals' mall. Nothing interesting and people can smoke inside the mall. Mall seems kinda aged and old looking now as compared to the photos here. Saving grace is that there's a clean HERO supermarket at ground floor, and fast food McDonald's and KFC.

Amazing tour ✈️✈️

The Gili Islands are 3 very small islands off the coast of Lombok , the next island east of Bali. You can reach the Gilis by boat from Bali or fly to Lombok and take a taxi over the mountains to a coastal village that has outriggers to ferry you out to the Gilis. Actually, the taxi stops just before you enter the village and you pay a small fee for a horse-drawn cart to take you to the boat ramp. It's just a way for the villagers to make a little money and it's a pleasant ride. At the boat ramp, you board a boat going to your island of choice. There are three island: Gili Air, Gili Meno, and Gili Trawangan. We took the boat to Gili Air. It is the closest to Lombok and only took about 30 minutes. It is also the smallest of the 3. It's village is in the center of the island with many coconut trees and people going about their daily activities. After walking through the village, we came to some bungalows that looked nice, right on a white sand beach with some beautiful coral close to shore. This resort had a few bungalows and an open-air center dining room (all meals included). We snorkeled and relaxed on the beach. At night in the dining room, one of the workers entertained us with a guitar, singing Indonesian folk songs. The next day we took a boat to Gili Trawangan, skipping the middle island of Meno. Trawangan is the biggest of the 3 island and has a hill with a WW2 bunker. It's nice to hike up there for a great view of the other islands and the Lombok coastline. Upon landing, we settled on the easternmost bungalow resort as it was the least busiest area. The beach is beautiful with white sand and shallow crystal-clear water. Many tropical fish can be seen very close to shore, so make sure you've brought your snorkel gear. There are some more luxurious resorts with swimming pools, but I figure, who needs a pool with the beach and clear warm water right there. Besides, the bungalows are more private and cheaper. Again, your 3 meals are included in the open-air dining room, but one day I hired a boat to sail us around the islands and trolled for fish. Fir the first time in my life, I saw flying fish. It was amazing. Soon, I snagged a big fish, a bonito. I took it back to my resort and took over the kitchen. I cut the fish into chunks, skewered them, spiced them with whatever I could find in the kitchen, and BBQed them. There was enough for every guest to have two big sticks. Afterwards, many of the guests told me it was the best meal they had there. Anyway, I recommend the Gilis for a bit of off-the-beaten-path adventure, beauty, and relaxation. We hope to get back there someday.

" Not suited for all travellers" The whole island is very dark with uneven and unsafe paths, you wil definitely need a torch if coming to this island as it is very challenging to get around at night. I personally found it extremely challenging and I am not old or have any mobility issues. I recommend staying on the main roads either in town or facing the beach and not in the centre of the island, as most likely you will not be able to find your accommodation at night. The amount of tourism the island receives I am unsure why they do not put a focus on safety and fix the paths and install lighting around the island. If you are elderly or have mobility issues I would recommend skipping this island and possible consider Gili Trawangan instead where as it’s a little more developed.

Gili Air is my favorite place after Italy. The tranquility of the island, the purity of the people, unique sea animals, pristine beach and its not-so-crazy night life is beyond words. If you to Bali, plan a few days there. You won't regret. Gili T, on the contrary, is my least favorite place.

Gili T is truly a dream! The water is a beautiful turquoise and you can snorkel right from the beach. The coral is unique and I saw countless beautiful fish and turtles. The sunsets are also gorgeous! I rented a bike and it was great! The island vibe is unbeatable – no stress, just sunsets, palm trees, and happy people.

Would highly recommend if you’re looking for an island with some nightlife! Lots of live music on the main road and great atmosphere all around. The only issue I have with the island is the unethical treatment of the horses here. I would not advise you use them as transport unless you absolutely must, lots of them are severely overworked and dehydrated.

My experience on Gili Trawangan, spanning four days, proved to be highly informative. The island's offerings, including bicycle exploration, local cuisine sampling, and snorkeling excursions, were exceptional. The scenic beauty of the locations was particularly striking.

A beautiful island with great diving opportunities, but unfortunately it's all very commercialized. Unfortunately, there are a lot of electric scooters driving around here now, and some of them are going very fast. You really have to be afraid of getting run over because you can't hear them.

Also, make sure to visit the nearby Gili islands for a day trip — they’re perfect for beach clubs, snorkeling, and a more laid-back vibe. Gili T is what you make of it — full of life, beauty, and adventure if you plan it right!

Beautiful island with scenic beaches and hotels. I loved it there. The only thing that really bothered me was the way poor working horses are treated - pulling wagons all day in the heat, with no water and food. Left standing at the sun. It's heartbreaking and animal cruelty. Local government must ban it and take care of the poor horses! It's 2025, there is no excuse to use horses!

Gili Nanggu is one of the most fantastic islands I ever been. Unfortunately, you find allot of garbage on the beach (even you have to pay 5.000 IDR per person to a dubious person who was saying that he cleans the island everyday)... This is a typical problem in Indonesia. If this wouldn't be the case I would give this island 5 from 5 stars. The beach where the most people stay is during the daytime a little crowded but clean and still a great experiance. The snorkeling was one of my best snorkel experiance. The island is small and not very clean. However, the main reason for visiting is for snorkeling. You can snorkel from two sides of the island. Some of the coral is dead unfortunately but there are plenty of fish. The sea is gentle and there aren't any waves to buffet you around. It takes about 15 minutes by boat to reach the island from the mainland.

Amazing snorkeling with nice beaches. So many different types of tropical fish that will swim right with you. A beautiful coral reef restoration project going on there that is really helping maintain/bring back wildlife there.

Beautiful water palace, with very few other visitors. Entrance was 100k each. Not a religious site, so no dress code. There are a couple of small cafes insides serving cold drinks - much appreciated. I had read online there is a 500k drone fee, but I asked a security guy once inside and he said "go ahead, no charge"

This is definitely a MUST visit place in East Bali. The place is incredibly beautiful and there is peace and quiet, where you can just walk or have a picnic. Also a beautiful place for a wedding, if it can be rented for that event. We dove with Komang in Nusa Penida, Padangbai, even though his dive centre is actually in Tulamben. For our group of 7, he arranged 2 local dive masters from Padangbai, so we had 3 guides in total. Komang also joined us on day 2 and 3 to look after us, especially since the waters at Padangbai were quite rough. All of them were super attentive and skilled, which made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the dives — and we all came back safely. They were also very helpful with setting up our diving gear, and the boat was in great condition — clean and looking quite new.

Komang was outstanding. It was very easy to setup our dive from Ubud, he passed along a contact for transport to/from Ubud. We did two dives. One all the way around the ship, one spending more time along the middle of the ship. I highly recommend diving here, easy, fast, safe, and friendly.

A beautiful place located just off the road. Peaceful, colorful, and incredibly charming. A very vast area with many nooks and crannies that many people overlook. It's worth buying fish food at the local stalls. It's quite crowded, but the place is worth visiting for its unique charm. Paid parking is available on-site, with plenty of spaces. Restaurants serving good food and quick service are located both on-site and nearby, and prices are practically the same as everywhere else.

We visited with the 1 Day Insta Tour Package on Trip Advisor and I personally recommend you book with them to get the best informed tour. This garden was once the King's private garden. It's now opened to the public for access and viewing. Although it still has practicioners coming here to meditate, it's still mostly opened to the public. The Koi fish in these ponds are majestic as you'll see in the accompanying videos and photos. The statue as well are just too fantastic 😍 for a first timer to Bali, visiting this Garden first will set the tone for your holidays ❤️💪👍

This was an absolutely beautiful and historic location that feels like stepping into a living postcard. We visited Tirta Gangga as part of our East Bali Tour programme. This is a very well maintained and clean place, which was used as a former water palace. We learned it was named after the sacred river Ganges in India. You can hop on and walk on stones to cross the ponds. There are so many well-fed and big koi fishes in ponds that look lovely. We had also visited Ubud Water Palace before, Tirta Gangga is bigger than that so it was worth visiting. There is also a cafe & restaurant you can sit and relax.

An amazing view for sure but the stairs are not for everyone. On a hot day it’s very challenging to go up and down to get to the beach or even going halfway for photos. Be wary lots of people will just hang on the stairs for pictures and block your way of using the railing. Def wear shoes if you want to get safely down to this beach

will always be my most favorite beach in bali! even though it needs a fastboat for me to get here from the main island. so disappointed at the sight of the elevator being built though. i think the stakeholders need to focus more on fixing the accessibility that has existed which is the stairs.

Touristy as hell… the car ride here is really a car ride from hell seriously if you are going to rent a scooter and planning to rent a scooter here please don’t. The hills are really steep and the potholes are really deep and the roads are not well maintained at all. Amazing place! I wouldn’t lie if I tell you this is the best beach in the world! I have seen many countries (beaches in Australia) but this is another level. Great view from the top and crazy waves on the beach. I had a lot of fun. I suggest to visit the place around 7 am - only 4 people were together with me so you can take a photo easily. Trekking to the beach is difficult but took me only 15-20 minutes. Entry to parking slot costs 5k (motorbike).

A fantastic private trip. Second boat into Manta Bay with a with an experienced guide and boat captain. Both made the most to try and find (respectfully) the Manta Rays. Swam with 4 and found a turtle too! Enjoyed the drift snorkel. Collection and drop off was simple and efficient. Would highly recommend over a crowded group trip. Thank you.

Had a wonderful experiences when I & my hubby sailing around this forest. It was so peaceful and made us feel relax. We rent the boat and driver for 2 peoples only for 150. Yes we bargained from 200K to 150K. It was unforgettable experiences!

Beautiful & peaceful. Our tour only lasted 20 minutes and imo it would be best to do it by canoe instead of using a motorized boat. Do the tour at low tide for a better understanding of the mangrove. We did it at high tide while everything is covered by water, with a guide that didn't say a word about it. Get a good guide and ask abt the best time to do the tour. You can also do it by stand up paddle board.

It is worth to visit Mangrove forest in Nusa Lembongan. Beautiful, quiet. You can choose between canoeing, canoeing + guide, boat trip, or gondola trip. We choose gondola trip for 200K. Canoeing without guide is 150K per canoe. It is beautiful and there are many warungs or restaurant around there that you could enjoy the view while having a drink.

A peaceful boat ride amidst the natural habitat. Mangrove is one of the main activities here and the tour lasts for an hour through the mangroves and snorkelling spots. So peaceful and delightful! Ami from Sunrise Fast Cruise Bali became our perfect host while we enjoyed the ride.

Devil’s Tear is one of the most breathtaking spots on Nusa Lembongan! The power of the waves crashing against the cliffs is incredible to watch, and when the tide is strong you can feel the spray of the ocean. It’s a great place for dramatic photos, especially around sunset when the light makes the ocean glow. Be careful near the edge though — the rocks are sharp and the waves can be unpredictable. There are also small stalls nearby for drinks and snacks, which makes it a nice spot to relax while enjoying the view. Definitely a must-visit when you’re on the island!

One of my highlights on the island. Stunning views especially for sunset. You can also use your ticket for the next day for a second entry so went once of the sunset and then during the day. Spectacular both times - the waves are huge and crushing against the shoreline makes for a spectacle. Be careful if you don’t want to get wet - some waves catch you unaware and before you know it your drenched if you’re close to the fence. There’s a little mini bar selling drinks for sunset or bring your own.

Best place in lembongan!! Definitely need to visit it. There's ticket for entry, the amount is totally worth it. The view is breathtaking! We went on weekend during sunset time, there was very less crowd. It has a proper park so you'll find joggers on the track here. The park is pretty huge, there are a lot of spots around. There's nice sitting place as well, so can sit and see the waves hitting the rocks.

Many years ago,I came here in kintamani and it was a dirt track and a few hawkers. Now it has a massive viewing platform along with aggressive hawkers. Now don't get me wrong,the views are fabulous and many lovely restaurants around too....BUT..if ur a foreigner and have a car or guide,before u getting the top to view the mountain u will be charged 50,000rp or $5 per person just to drive to the top 1 min away. I have no objection to pay as long as at the other end there is someone to maybe give a brief history of the area or mnt. All monies go back to the government but nothing for the locals who are struggling!( that's what I was told by the guide). So,as explained to the guide what I would spent with the hawkers,was spent at the ridiculous "entrance" fee. Do yourself a favour...buy a postcard instead! Worst experience on Bali! Let me explain why! And let me show alternatives. 1. Mass invasion of tourists. And with invasion I mean a never ending snake of people from bottom to top and back. No joke! On the top of mt. batur were at least 300 people. I Never expected sooooo much people. While watching sunrise other people walking around all the time, stand up in front of you for selfies etc. 2. Booking a guide, means booking someone showing you the way! Not more! Our guide told us nothing about history and geology of Mt. Batur. I knew more then him after reading Wikipedia article. But the guide never stopped asking us, if we like to have a longer tour (for more money of course). 3. Mafialike trekking agencies try to force you book a guide. (Mine was Arlinas) 4. Breakfast: = a joke, toast with egg and banana. 5. Equipment: another joke! Just a simple torch with not enough power. After 30min walk light was gone! Nothing else of equipment. 6. The price is horraible expensive for the provided service (300k per person) I was in a Group of 4 people after negotiation. 6. Last but not least the view. The view is beautiful that's true. But millions of views are beautiful while sunrise. Ok, if you still think I want to hike Mt. Batur... please don't or go without guide. The way up is no problem if you have the right shoes, torch and googlemaps. Just start from black lava hostel and follow the way to the Pura penataran agung temple, turn right and head to the Pura Payogaan temple (check Google maps). Follow the trail (5-10min) until you reach a shack where they sell water, etc. From here just follow the masses. If you want to see the sunset alone and without spending so much money, avoid Mt. Batur, rent a scooter and watch it from the south-west caldera of the volcano. This means nearly same angle to the sunrise and you got Mt. Batur, Mt. Abang, and Mt. Agung on your photos. Which is more impressive! Just give it a try. If you don't like it you can go next day to Mt Batur.

Beautiful blue sky accompanied with it. Tourists are non existent in this village. Love to be around locals and no other foreigners. We also love the fact that this place offers serenity and peace, in touch with nature. Lots of farm lands, locals and sound of crickets.

Amazing views, the venue is worth it just for this. The food they serve can be hit and miss. Guess it depends on your taste. Loved the soup and some of local mains. The black rice pudding and fried bananas were not as well received though. Get dessert elsewhere in my opinion. Unless you're happy with some fruit. The buffet was a bit pricey compared to the rest of Bali cuisine but at less than USD $15 (200k IDR), still very affordable.

Amazing temple complex! Very artistic and lovely. I have to agree with other reviewers though, the aggressiveness of people trying to sell and hustle you for money is way too over the top here. Enjoy the inner part of the temple but DO NOT go around the back. You will meet a man that is highly agressive trying to sell you lava rock drawings. He will actually get in your face! The view in the back is the same from the cafes.

Pura Ulun Danu Batur, a Hindu temple in Kintamani. Located on the rim of Mount Batur, the temple contains 285 shrines and pavilions spread across nine different complexes dedicated to water deities. Parking is easy, but parking is available for a fee. A sarong and sash are also recommended. You can purchase or rent one on site (I recommend purchasing it; it will be useful at other temples). It's a very beautiful place, not very touristy, although the noise and traffic in front of the temple are quite heavy.

Beautiful temple and worth visiting, but the scams and gimmicks are getting tiresome. When you pay the entrance fee, they take you over to a wall and try to get you to purchase a sarong. When you decline, they then try to rent you one. A FREE one is already included with the ticket. We had to get borderline unfriendly for them to get the point that we were not buying or renting one. Then they force you to go with a guide. That was okay as she was helpful and made navigating the area easier. We offered a small tip at the end. However, along the way, we had a few people approaching us to buy things.

Visited this place for Bhumisudha ritual. However, the ceremony had finished when we arrived. No problem, we love to feel the atmosphere here.

Beautiful place — ruined by scammy behavior. We were excited to visit this temple and had no issue paying the entrance fee — that’s totally fine. But right after paying, they told us we had to cover our legs (which is normal in Bali). What’s not normal is being asked to buy the sarong for 300,000 IDR! After some back-and-forth, we ended up renting it for 50,000 each, just to avoid more hassle. Then they forced a guide on us — someone we never asked for, who barely explained anything and later complained that our tip “wasn’t enough.” Seriously? What could have been a peaceful cultural visit turned into a series of petty scams. The temple itself is beautiful and worth seeing, but the management and the pushy attitude are shameful. Tip for other travelers: pay your entrance fee, bring your own sarong, and firmly refuse any “mandatory guide” nonsense. You’ll enjoy it much more that way.

READ BEFORE VISITING Be prepared to be attacked from the locals upon arrival at the parking. When you buy the entrance ticket for 50k, in which is included the sarong and belt for entrance and also tour guide be aware that the women around the ticket counter will try to sell you the sarong, you must explicit say to them you will only rent the sarong that is included in the ticket. It ruins the tranquility of the Balinese people and culture when you come to such places and they are so pushy to try to sell you spmething. Maybe i would buy something else from them if they were not so annoying 🙏 The temple itself is beautiful and all the sculptures inside with the unforgetable architecture👍👏👏

Used to be a UNESCO SITE, this temple is well preserved and should continue to be. Entrance fee includes temporary sarong rent which makes sense for tourists and doesn't feel rip off. There are guides at sites but they are not pushy for business. Used as a sanctuary for both Hinduism and Buddhism, you could see two religions in one. There's also a Buddha temple right at the end but it seems neglected. Overall, worth a visit especially if you are interested in cultural understanding.

This is temple in bali where Pooja is still carried out in a temple. Nice temple of Lord Ganesha and Shiva . It also has an idol of lord Buddha. The place has a nice spring and whole temple seems to be in the midst of a forest. Temple can be better maintained as there are entrance fees for the same .

This was the highlight and a great location to end out day. We arrived approx. 17:30 (closure at 18:00). It was empty and peaceful, which made it all the more special and a great location to see. One to recommend however be warned, there is a fait bit to decend and climb, all worth it though. There is also a smallish waterfall, secluded and covered by massive forest. Entry cost is R50k pp. Must see.

A very spiritual temple in Bali. Worth visiting while in Ubud. We went there during a local ceremony and saw the place decked up in traditional decorations. People were offering puja in ceremonial attire. The compound is huge with its own water fall and garden. The inside of the temple is sacred and the atmosphere feels divine. There are quite a few steps to be climbed up and down. Take your time and explore the surroundings.

It's not big cave. Inside cave there are statues of God. If in hurry one can skip this place. Architecture of entrance is different. However, road to buddha temple from their is beautiful. Nature lover will find it worth visiting.

Goa Gajah temple is one of the visiting places in Bali. The temple has entrance fee of 50000 rupai per person and temple closes by 6 pm. There is a big center with shopping stalls around. I strongly recommend to visit Goa Gajah. If you dont have enough time, just see from the top of the temple before the entry.

Cool locking cave. Some nice small temple structures. Wasn't very crowded when we got there but a lot of people want to sell you stuff or be your guide. You feel the place is made for a lot of tourists. The waterfall isn't that impressive and also very dirty.

There are those famous swing experiences where you can rent a beautiful flowing dress and pay for a professional photo or video — they’re amazing if you want that classic Bali swing moment! 🎥💃 But there are also lovely free spots around the terraces where you can take great photos without spending extra. Just explore a little and you’ll find beautiful angles with fewer crowds. Highly recommend going early in the morning for the best light and a peaceful atmosphere. ✨

These terraces are located closest to Ubud and are by far the most popular with tourists. Admission is free, but you can pay a voluntary fee. They are beautifully maintained, with many spots and viewpoints for beautiful photos. It's worth sitting down at a nearby restaurant (there are many to choose from) for a drink or a meal and admiring the rice terraces from a different perspective. A phenomenal place. I won't say more. It's a must-see.

Spectacular place to visit. I HIGHLY recommend going there around sunrise. I was let in at 6:30am and i was the only one there for a good 30 mins. To be left to your own devices in a UNESCO World Heritage Site is out of this world. Stunning scenery every way you look. Great for photographers

This was a beautiful experience. I was so excited to explore rice fields and this didn't disappoint. The green colors were vibrant and the many layers of the terrace were beautiful. They have the option to do zip line, swing, Aladin carpet ride, and superman. All great options to explore the beauty of the fields.

Most of the prices are 3x the selling price we see at stores in Sanur Harbor. Even if you haggle, you will just be able to haggle it to the original selling price. So don’t buy unless you don’t have time to look elsewhere or want a challenge to haggle until you deem the price is worth the item. We were able to buy some items that I didn’t see in other places like the patched up pants.

We noticed the same goods being sold in many other parts of Bali, so don’t expect unique local craftsmanship here. Do check out the second floor if you visit, but overall, I wouldn’t return as it lacked originality.

Products are costly here because tourists place. Shop owners know this. But you can get products in cheap prices after bargain. You can easily bargain 50% less price and shop owners will agree. I purchased the similar products outside the market with less price and same quality. Rest, Street Style Market, you have to walk a lot between the shops. Pretty big market full of souvenirs and clothes. Everyone is happy to bargain, basically the price they tell you at first is always highly overpriced. If the say something cost 300k you can buy it at 150k easily or start bargaining and get it down to 50-100k rupees. Never ever accept initial pricing. We bought a bunch of souvenirs and clothes here. Pricing for the magnets is about +-20k, most of the clothes (tshirts, shorts, etc) you can get at 50-100k.

This was my 4th time visiting the monkey forest and I loved it. Despite what you hear about monkey aggression, you just have to follow the rules and signs. I did make eye contact with a monkey by accident and it grabbed me which I found quite funny to be honest. It didn’t hurt me, and it was my mistake lol. To add to that, I have never been attacked or seen anyone badly injured here. Honestly, it was heartwarming to see the local Balinese bonding and feeding the monkeys, you can tell they are trained and know what they are doing. I really enjoy the fact that these monkeys are able to free roam. It may be scary for humans, but it is great that they are not chained or caged. It is so nice to see the Balinese genuinely care for these gorgeous animals. At the end of the day, you are in the monkeys home. Treat them with respect and they shall leave you be. It’s a really beautiful and breezy area. The natural landscape of this place is breathtaking.

A nice casual walk in the park. There are a lot of monkeys but they are not aggressive. There are conservation staff around to park to ensure that the interactions between the guests and monkeys are safe and ethical. The monkeys are not particularly afraid of humans and may climb onto a person, although no feeding is allowed. Most part of the park is shaded and in forest area. Bring bug spray. There’s a nice and easy walking trail through the forest and lots of relics to look at.

Such a magical and unforgettable experience! The Monkey Forest Sanctuary is absolutely beautiful, lush, peaceful, and filled with nature’s charm. The monkeys are playful and fun to watch (just keep your belongings safe!). I loved how well-maintained and organized the place is, with helpful staff and clear paths through the forest and temples. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and nature all in one spot. A must-visit when in Ubud!

Surpassed any expectations I have had about the sanctuary. I was a bit scared and nervous coming to the place. However, if you follow the rules, monkey will leave you alone and do they own things and they're very useo to human. It was an amazing experience to observe the monkeys in their habitat. The place was very well maintained and reasonable price for entry tickets.

Great place to visit! I had a really nice time walking through this tropical forest filled with monkeys. There are plenty of them everywhere, and watching them was a lot of fun. The whole walk was relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely worth a stop when you’re in Ubud.

This place is absolutely beautiful, magical, and full of wanderlust energy! Monkeys are everywhere swinging from trees, lounging on railings, and living their best lives. The forest itself feels like stepping into another world, surrounded by lush greenery and ancient temples covered in moss. It’s incredible to watch these monkeys up close (just hold onto your belongings!). I had such a fun and unforgettable experience here. The monkeys truly seem to be living great lives in their sacred jungle home.

Be careful >< I had some Keychain on my bag, Litteraly at the exit, one monkey took 2 of them.. I was able to grab one back. Anyways don't have anything outside the bag, water, Keychain ecc, no sunglasses and I would be careful also with earrings. We needed like an hour to see everything inside, it's nice and the monkey are mostly doing their things, eating, running ecc. I did not pay for have my photo taken, if I remember correctly was 50k for the service. Just be respectful, I took photo of the monkey but didn't get to near, just walk and leave them alone. When there's a lot of people can be stressful for them.

Not the most attractive beach to be honest and very dirty in places. Plenty of resorts along the beach where you can go to the pools(for a fee). Plenty of food outlets across the whole spectrum of quality (😂) and a massive shopping mall along the boardwalk. Extremely tourist oriented and very busy.

Nice place to walk not far from the city. You have a good walking trail, but most of it expose to the sun. You can't go of the walking way to gind you a nice quit place in the wood. On start from south you can reach the river. On the north point you have some galeres and coffee shoe. If you need to get by walk to your entry point, start from south because there is a hilll to go, and it will be nicer to go down after you finish you walking.

Beautiful walk. Lots of up and down and stairs. If someone has trouble walking won't be too good for them. It is very hot as well. This Campuhan Ridge Walk can be a leisurely hike and takes around 30 to 45 minutes each way. Ofcourse depending on your pace and how often you stop for photos. I didn't go too far as it was very hot and humid but the entire round trip can be completed in about 1.5 hours. I also recommend wearing comfortable sneakers or walking shoes because the path is uneven in some places. If you plan to explore the nearby villages or stop at one of the cafés along the way, you might want to allow a bit more time. I stopped at a beautiful temple to visit just before starting the trail, so I would probably dedicate half a day to this visit. Lush greenery everywhere. It's free to enter the place.

Very pretty walk, totally mapped out so you won’t get lost. I wish there was more of a loop but I basically stop at a cute cafe called Draniki get a juice and go back the way I came. It’s a good, relaxing way to get your steps in away from the town. But it’s not really a hike for anyone looking for a challenge.

I was interested in visiting Campuhan Ridge Walk because many of my friends recommended it. As someone who loves hiking and walking, the Campuhan Ridge Walk was definitely something I didn’t want to miss during my stay in Ubud. I started my walk at 7 AM, and I think it was the perfect time. The trail is about 2 km long with beautiful scenery along the way. It wasn’t crowded in the morning, though I still passed a few people walking or jogging. Some brought their kids, and I also saw several people walking with their dogs. I loved walking slowly along the neatly paved path. It took me around one hour to reach Pura Gunung Lebah. There are no restaurants or convenience stores along the trail, so it’s important to bring your own water. There are also no public toilets along the way, but once you reach the village area, you’ll find restaurants and small shops. In the village, you can also see art galleries, villas, and more places to explore. Historically, the Campuhan Ridge was originally a meditation path used by the priest who built Pura Gunung Lebah. With time, the temple and the trail became an important spiritual center in the Ubud area. As the local community grew, the surroundings developed into residential areas. And with the growth of tourism in Ubud, the ridge walk eventually became one of the must-visit spots. Even so, I can still feel the spiritual atmosphere when walking slowly along the trail—enjoying the beautiful scenery, the fresh air, and the calm environment.

The pavement/walkway was so clean and serene. Come early to avoid the heat. I didn't go all the way to the other side but you can enjoy the calm village view and had smoothie, fruits or coffee on your way.

Amazing trek but the walk is not suitable for children and prams. The hills are steep and the steps are crooked and easy to trip over. I saw a local trip and fall on my visit here. Be careful, wear good shoes. I would recommend not going on a hot day as there aren’t any air conditioned areas at the end point.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud is a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Ubud itself — the path is easy winding along the top of the ridge through green hills, tall grasses, and endless views. The walk starts near the bridge and river at the bottom and winds up past the beautiful old temple and opens up into a most scenic walk We used the Voicemap app for a self-guided tour, and it made the walk even more interesting. It pointed out things we might’ve missed — the different grasses swaying along the ridge, the birds and insect life, the history of the path, and even the story of how those two famous palm trees ended up there! Toward the end, it also mentions that you can keep going down into the rice fields if you want to explore further. The app explores the history of Ubud too and lots of other interesting stories. We went early in the morning before the heat and humidity of the day, if youre going later take a hat or umbrella and was amazed at the amount of people talking their morning walk along there. The views are lovely and it’s a calm, refreshing way to start the day in Ubud. The Ridge is not far from the main road and easy to wander back ready for the day ahead.

It’ my 4th time in Bali and I’ve never booked Gili Getaway speedboat. This time we went from Serangan to Bangsal Lombok with Gili Getaway. So nice online booking and service. Transfer from the hotel to port was perfect, stuff in the office is so kind and professional. Our experience on the sea was amazing. Free wifi, so clean boat, comfort seats, amazingly nice and helpful stuff. You can watch movie and just enjoy in the boat. This is my favorite speedboat agency and we will booked it again. Great job!!!!

Best best best boat service we’ve had in Indonesia!!! The staff is so sweet and nice and professional. The ride was fast and smooth. They even gave us mentos at the beginning and wet towels at the end. And if you wanted to sit on the sunroof they have towels and sunscreen too. All the bad reviews for this company I don’t understand, cause weather and rough sea are things they cannot control. They operate very safely and I felt comfortable the whole time. Will be recommending this place to everyone and for sure book again!

After researching several fast boat providers, we decided to go with Gili Getaway. We were pleasantly surprised by how well everything was organized. We were picked up from our hotel in Seminyak right on time and taken to the check-in terminal. Communication was clear and easy throughout. The boat is a bit smaller and only has fans, but overall the ride was perfectly fine. I would definitely recommend this company – even though they’re a bit more expensive, we were very satisfied overall.

Nusa penida to Gili Gede Extremely disappointing experience with Gili Getaway. We paid 950,000 IDR per person for a transfer from Nusa Penida to Gili Gede, and ended up waiting over 2.5 hours at the port due to a mechanical issue with the boat — with no alternative provided. The staff on-site offered no clear communication. When we asked for updates, they laughed among themselves and spoke in their local language instead of helping. The toilets at the port were locked the entire time, leaving us with no access to basic facilities, which is unacceptable given the long wait. We contacted the company through WhatsApp, and all we received was vague, scripted responses telling us to “be patient.” No solution, no compensation offered, and no guarantee that we’ll get our money back. For the price paid, this was a completely unprofessional and frustrating experience. I would not recommend Gili Getaway to anyone.

I was at the harbor this morning at the same time as the guests leaving these harsh reviews, and I feel compelled to share the truth about what actually happened. Yes, the boats were canceled last-minute (not by Gili Getaway), but by the Harbor Master, due to a sudden swell that made conditions unsafe for crossing. That’s not something Gili Getaway can control. Safety has to come first, and anyone who’s traveled in this region knows how quickly weather conditions can change overnight. Despite this, I saw the Gili Getaway team doing everything in their power to calmly and professionally manage a very challenging situation. Staff were clearly stressed but remained respectful, informative, and patient, even as a few guests became aggressive, shouting at staff and making unrealistic demands like immediate refunds (when they had booked through third-party agents) or asking them to pay for hotels and taxis.. which are obviously not part of their service nor their responsibility. One of the most vocal guests was absolutely rude to staff and other travelers. It was uncomfortable to witness. It’s easy to write a one-star review from behind a keyboard, but I saw the situation unfold firsthand—and I saw Gili Getaway doing their best with what they had. To anyone reading this: don’t let these angry reviews paint the wrong picture. I’ve traveled with Gili Getaway many times before, and I will again. They run a professional, safety-first operation, and I respect that. Especially when things go sideways.

Overpriced and Overhyped — Wouldn’t Use Again We took Gili Getaway from Gili T to Serangan. For a service that claims to be “first class,” it felt far from it. The ferry is small and cramped, with no air-conditioning, making the already long 3+ hour journey incredibly uncomfortable in the Bali heat! The waves are high so the water can enter thru the windows so you have to keep them shut. The ride itself was extremely bumpy and nauseating. The fans on the wall are not helpful. To make things worse, Wi-Fi was advertised but didn’t work, and punctuality was an issue — the boat left late. You can book your seat on the website but it isn’t followed on board. The meeting point is the Gili T Night Market which is chaotic and has unclean tables and seats, not what you’d expect for a premium-priced service. The road is uneven and filled with stones so the wheels of your suitcase can get damaged. We’ve traveled with Ekajaya to Gili T from Padang Bai, which is a bigger ferry so felt more stable and offered more space, had AC, was on time and actually cost less (maybe because the trip was shorter). No snacks sold on board either. So plan ahead. We booked a paid private taxi to our hotel in Nusa Dua through them given ride-share apps aren’t allowed at the Serangan port. The same was fine. Overall, Gili Getaway felt like a classic case of marketing over substance. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re left with no other option

I booked two boats with this company. On first occasion our afternoon trip was cancelled due to bad weather anx they have arranged us another boat at another company in the morning. Second time we went from Nusa Penida to Serangan and the trip was enjoyable, the crew and staff were very helpful and one hour flew by.

Free to enter the facility, only need to make a donation at the end of the amount you want to pay. However if you choose to take a baby turtle for release into ocean it is 150k per turtle and then 80k per person for the boat ride. Sad to see some turtles are in smaller pools than they need, some turtles are very big for the size of the pool and they just swimming against the walls trying to get out. There are lots of eggs that get hatched daily. In the pool of the baby turtles a fair few amount of them appear to be dead, but I guess that’s normal for nature, not everything can survive after being hatched. Not able to order grab or gojek from this location, so make sure your return trip for a taxi is already organised.

WARNING: TAXI SCAM. THERE WILL BE A BUNCH OF SUS-LOOKING TAXIS WAITING OUTSIDE. THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT NO CARS ARE ALLOWED TO GO IN AND THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU IF YOU ACCEPT THEIR SERVICES. If you want to book a taxi online, you need to walk at least 2km away from this location. Overall, I love the experience! We get to release the turtle and we had a volunteer doing a tour guide for us. They explained everything in detail which made the whole experience even better. Releasing the turtle was 250k IDR in total; 80k for boat ride (one time charge per person) and 150k for the turtle. You can opt only for boat ride. You will also get an adoption certificate if you release a turtle, which is super cute! Everything was super fun and great, except the bunch of taxis waiting outside who tried to scam us. Please be aware.

Visiting the Turtle Conservation and Education Center in Bali was an eye-opening and deeply meaningful experience. Located away from the busier tourist areas, it offers a chance to connect with one of nature’s most fascinating creatures while also supporting an important cause. The center focuses on the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sea turtles, and from the moment you step in, you sense the genuine passion and dedication of the people working there. The educational aspect was especially impressive. Staff took the time to explain the different stages of a turtle’s life, the challenges they face from pollution and poaching, and the role conservation efforts play in their survival. Seeing the hatchlings was a highlight – tiny, fragile, and full of life. Holding them, even for a brief moment, made the entire visit feel very personal and impactful. The facility itself is modest but authentic, clearly prioritizing the well-being of the turtles over aesthetics. There’s also the opportunity to participate in releases, sending young turtles back into the ocean – an emotional and memorable experience that leaves you with a real sense of contribution. Overall, the visit was both educational and inspiring. It’s not just a tourist stop, but a reminder of the responsibility we all share in protecting marine life. A must-visit in Bali for anyone who values nature and conservation.

The place is quite small, and you’ll only see a few turtles, but it’s a meaningful and heartwarming experience. A guide will show you around, and the payment is donation-based, which makes it accessible and feels genuinely community-driven. If you’re lucky enough to visit on a hatch day, you might have the chance to “adopt” a baby turtle, take a short boat ride, and release it into the ocean. It’s a truly magical moment—especially for kids. Afterward, they’ll wait for your return and print a personalized certificate with the name you’ve chosen for your turtle. It’s a fabulous and touching experience, and I truly hope the funds collected continue to support their important work. Make sure to contact them ahead of your visit as they might not have turtles ready yet. Also not there are no taxis there so make arrangements for drop off and pick up.

This place was AMAZING. The staff is so knowledgeable and they are taking such good care of the injured turtles. Releasing a baby sea turtle into the wild was so special. My kids loved every second we spent there.

Highly highly recommended making the trip to visit the conservation centre. It’s small but the volunteers there take the time to explain everything to you, you can see all the rescued turtles with injuries and the babies which have hatched from rescued eggs. The release of a turtle costs 230k per person and it’s truly a heartwarming experience. It really is not a lot to donate (especially us folks coming from high income countries) and you can see the money goes to good use. (Can donate via PayPal or card). There’s no touching of turtles or anything for money making schemes as other parks. To all the comments about the enclosures being too small//not clean enough- please remember that this is Indonesia and run by charity/volunteers. There’s no endless supply of funds to improve it and they do the best they can. Many of the turtles are sick and missing limbs so of course they are not moving around a lot 🤦🏼‍♀️otherwise they would be back in the sea.

This volunteer operation deserves a visit and if you are early, you might even be able to help setting a baby turtle free #magical. The site is limited as it is run by volunteers, but well kept, the turtles receive medical care, (keep in mind they are wild and must remain wild, it's no fan y petting zoo for Instagram posts) and they take time to explain what they do an what to see. We loved it! And above all it's free, so please donate or adopt a turtle!

A quiet but nice beach, mostly accommodating to hotel guests who are staying along this beach. There are restaurants as well along the beach, for enjoy the view with some food and drinks. Visited in April 2025.

Probably the nicest beach for swimming, close to main areas of Bali, easily accessible and plenty of beach side bars and cafes. Avoid hotel outlets as they will charge you exorbitant prices.

Beautiful and peaceful beach! The water is super clear, the sand is clean, and it’s perfect for a relaxing swim or just chilling by the shore. One of the calmest and most scenic spots in Bali! 🌊☀️🌴

Nice Beach, loving it. Definitely, I will plan again to spend more time during my next trip to Bali on Nusa dua beach. Clear blue water looks mind-blowing. Amazing.

The beach is nice from afar but the closer you look the more washed up trash on the beach you will see. If you swim or snorkel you will be shocked with the amount of trash. Much is from offerings which have many items wrapped in plastic and much is from tourists or washed in from river outlets. Also being a beach in a huge tourist complex it lacks the charm of Bali and could be another beach in the World in a gated tourist resort.

Nusa Dua Beach is absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of our trip. The water is calm and inviting, and the beach itself is clean and well kept. What really made it special for us were the sunrises. Waking up early and walking down to the gazebos to watch the sky change colors was unforgettable. It is the kind of place that feels peaceful and safe, where you can truly relax and take in the beauty around you. The little lookout spots with gazebos added such a unique charm and made it easy to just sit back and appreciate the views.

Wonderful beach. Calm water when the tide is out. Many resto there. Walk to the pula Nusa Dharma. Pay only the parking fare here.
