Gaustatoppen is a scenic peak offering panoramic views and featuring a mountainside cafe. The new restaurant at Gvepseborg will be located 880 meters above sea level with stunning views of Gaustatoppen and Vestfjorddalen. It's suitable for hikers of all levels, including beginners, but proper attire and good support shoes are recommended due to the rocky terrain.
I love all of that region with the alpine view and beautiful lakes, even though it s a lot of cold, and wind! Dress accordingly for the mountains no matter of the season!

Loved everything about it. We took the tram up and hiked down. The hike can be challenging if you have problems with ankles
Jon H — Google review
Fascinating location! We went in the middle of July and had a big cloud on top of the mountain. Down on the campsite it was warm whereas on the mountain it was cold, so take something warm with you. Also the way up is quite difficult. You definitely need some good hiking shoes since it’s mostly stone on the way. On the way back we decided to take the little train back down which we highly recommend! The story is very interesting and sitting inside is even better. Though you need to walk back to the other parking spot (Gaustaban to Stavsro), depending where you parked. There are at least two hiking routes, the one from the train is quite steep. We choose the other one. Overall great experience!
Torsten S — Google review
Beautiful hike! We took about just over 2 hours going up, spent an hour at the top and 2 hours down due to the rocky terrain. The hike is not so hard, steep at times but doable. It is very rocky though so it is advised to wear sensible shoes, maybe have some hiking poles and be aware of it before bringing kids or older people. We went on a Friday and it was quite busy. Free parking alongside the road. Cute cafes at the top of the peak with decent prices
Andrea B — Google review
A must in Norway, great experience.Stayed the night snowing and strong winds, but still fantastic service better than any 4star hotel 👍
Pierre R — Google review
Free parking, no fee Approximately 2 hours (one way) After reaching the top you can go further, but it’s quite difficult part with rocks. It took us about 1,5 hour more round way to get the highest top. It’s beautiful view on the northern part on Norway.

This is a good place for everyone ,the beginner hikers are ok for walk and not that much difficult.⛰️🏕🌙🇳🇴💕 ✅️I have seen a lot of kids ,older people , walk all the way. ⚠️Prepared not too thick shirt and good shoes become Round trip almost 10 km. ,recommend having good support shoes because you walk on the rock it can cause of hurt feet. ⚠️Some parts have a little bit of snow , which can be slipped, but it's fine. 🧇🥞On the top of the destination, have a small shop ,serve pancakes, waffles, hot coffee, and juice. Recommend come with family , you will be have a great trip together ❤️ Cr : TravelWithIrene

We climbed this in mid-May starting around 8:00 AM. It's a beautiful hike up, especially during the snowy season. While it's obvious, it is not a place to get caught without the right gear, so be sure to have poles with snow baskets, correct attire, and either snowshoes or skis. We didn't have the latter and ended up post-holing about 20% of the time, especially toward the summit. The ridge out to the true summit is a bit precarious, and one needs to watch their footing carefully to avoid an unpleasant ride.

Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum

The Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum is located 7km west of Rjukan, inside the Vemork power station. Initially the world's largest when completed in 1911, it now pays tribute to the Socialist Workers' Party and its peak activities in the 1950s. The museum features an intriguing exhibition on the race to develop an atom bomb during the 1930s and '40s, as well as a remarkable miniature power station in its main hall.
Interesting power plant with lots of history! And of course the famous stories about the sabotage actions during WW2! Worth a visit when you are around! Nice guide tours in English and multiple exhibitions about the construction, usage and sabotage.
Tjeerd V — Google review
Stopped in the gorgeous town for a little window shopping and a break. On my way out on the heavy serpentine saw this interesting power station. Seen some of them with those scary pipes in my youth in West Virginia under construction and I stopped for a photo. I knew that must be a piece of my beloved Norway's hydropower history. Way to go Vikings, go and get even richer on free hydro power electricity! I envy you so much, all Norwegians, I wish I could've been born in your wonderland! God bless you all!
Matt S — Google review
Very impressive and interesting historical monument. Really spectacular building and the nature around is breathtaking. Worth the visit.
Erdna V — Google review
Great museum, where you can feel atmosphere from WW2 period. There are also some interactive devices that allows to learn facts in an interesting way.
Denys D — Google review
Really worth a visit. The story is historically important, facinating and moving. I spent several hours here and in the surrounding area.
Ted G — Google review
Fabulous museum with some very interesting history of Norway. Well worth a visit particularly if you are interested in world war 2 history.
Tom B — Google review
For me this is importent historical place where the norwegian saboteurs prevented germany from making uranium from heavy water produced at Vemork. Importent fir whole world. Recomend buying tickets online, a bit cheaper.😊😊🇳🇴🇳🇴.
Eirik O — Google review
Wouldn’t bother. You’ll spend half the time on the tourist bus from Rjuken. Poorly signed and little information on the website. Staff could not care less, a very underwhelming experience and this should not be a UNESCO world heritage site.

Norwegian Ski Museum

Museum
Specialty Museums
(Translated by Google) It is an excellent Museum. The person in charge of the museum gave us a short summary before starting the museum, allowing us to situate ourselves in the history of Norwegian skiing. We learn more about the history of telemarking, Antarctic exploration, and the history of skiing in general. We thus have references to Norway of course but also to the Olympic Games, to Alpine sport and to sports derived from skiing. Exhibitions combining models, historical objects, films and documentaries make it a varied museum. The tour is in Norwegian but also in English. I highly recommend this museum to anyone who loves skiing 🎿 (Original) C'est un excellent Musée.

Hello from USA! 🇺🇸 This place is absolutely wonderful to visit. Both children and adults can learn about the history of reindeer, the park's geography, and enjoy a lovely Cafe with a lovely view. The man at the front desk was very knowledgeable and you can tell that he is really passionate about this place. There are also many hiking trails that start in the parking lot. Just remember to be prepared. The weather here changes very quickly, so make sure you have proper rain jackets to stay warm. Ps. They also have a VR documentary where you put on goggles and take a "walk" through the park. Innovative and informational. I will be returning (hopefully next summer) with my family to show them this beautiful place!

I understand why this exhibition has won several prizes, it is really good. Lots of information and presented in a very good way. And of course the place is marvellous! We walk the little "grandma trail" and enjoyed the scenery and the many different flowers in the vegetation.

Eidsborg Stave Church

Stave church
Sights & Landmarks
Churches & Cathedrals
Eidsborg Stave Church, located in the West Telemark Museums open-air area, is a small yet remarkable wooden church that represents the rich history of southern Norway. The construction of stave churches required significant lumber resources and Eidsborg is one of the 28 remaining stave churches in the country. Visitors can enjoy guided tours to learn about its history and unique construction.
On the way to Stavanger I passed the city church. It seems to still be in use. There are relatively new graves in the cemetery next door. When I was there, you couldn't see the inside of the stave church. From the outside it is an impressive building.
Rob — Google review

One of the oldest stave church in Norway. There is a museum nearby. Guided tour with museum tickets, ticket price 130 NOK in 2023. If you are near Dalen, must visit.

Our Norwegian AFS exchange student was from Eidsborg. We were fortunate enough to be able to attend her wedding in this church. It was an experience I will never forget. The church is beautiful inside and out. Amazing paintings inside. I would really like to go back and visit the living museum there.

Rauland church

Church
Sights & Landmarks
Churches & Cathedrals
Nestled in the picturesque Raulandsgrend of Vinje municipality, Rauland Church stands as a testament to Norway's rich history. Originally a site for pagan worship, it transformed into a stave church after the Christianization of Norway. The current wooden structure was completed in 1803, replacing its predecessor that stood until 1801. This charming cross church serves as the parish church for the local community and is surrounded by a serene cemetery where notable figures like "Myllarguten" rest.
My brother and I and our wives visited this church in May 1969. Our grandfather, Sveining Tovsson Rauland was baptized here in 1858. Our great grandparents are buried in the surrounding cemetery. While in the church, the four of us sang the 4-part harmony John Stainer composed “Seven Fold Amen” (The Lord Bless You and Keep You) for our cousin Odd Kvali and his wife. Great memories.
Jerry T — Google review
Rauland kyrkje is a cute wooden church with a cemetery in the town of Rauland in the Vinje commune. We accidentally discovered it on our way to the southern cape. It is interesting that it is located on the shores of Lake Totak and most believers came here from their surroundings on their boats. Thus, the main entrance to the church is directly from the lake beach.

All the animals are really well looked after all 57 of them and they genuinely enjoy working out with you. The owners are really lovely people, and it’s a family only business. You get to ask them all about Nordic culture and really bury yourself in a new type of person and place. Seven (sorry if sept wrong) is a really friendly character, he really loves what he does and he genuinely cares about your welfare and that you have a good time. Get all your questions ready and speak to him and Emma about everything as they are really good conversationists He had no merchandise, which is a bummer as I really wanted to buy something like a T shirt to remember this moment but I will still never forget this experience.

This experience was unbelievable. The owner and tour guide were over-the-top kind and knowledgeable, and the snow suit and boots we borrowed were such a thoughtful addition. A lot of dog sledding tours, you barely drive the sled at all- that was not the case here. On our sled following Emily, one of us drove half the time while the other was passenger, and we switched halfway through. The dogs were happy, healthy, and clearly loved. I'm so grateful to have had this experience and can't recommend Haukeli Husky enough

Awesome experience, super lovely team that made it possible for us and the dogs had a great time too. All dogs were friendly, cuddly and they just seemed happy!

AMAZING! That's how short this experience can be explained. We came as a family with kids on 6 years and the whole thing was memorable for everyone of us. Hosts are very kind and good to explain how to drive the sledge, and the dogs are friendly and possible to say hi to for kids too. Driving through the nationalpark with only the sounds from the strong dogs and the sledge sets the perfect background noise for the mind-blowing views of the nature surrounding the place. We went on the 1 hour trip which was perfect for the first time, but we'll be coming back for more next time. We combined this with half a day of alpine skiing and then ended at Haukeli Husky, perfect combo for our kids. Also good to know that they have boots and warm clothes that you can borrow if needed. Pricing for the experienced is absolutely fair. 🐶 🛷

Beautiful and exciting experience! Very cute dogs and amazing scenery! Our guides were very friendly, professional and flexible. They even provided us alternative short-term dates when we couldn’t do the originally planned trip because of missing snow. Short trips (1 hour) are also possible. Everyone should give it a try! Thank you for this unique experience.

Sights & Landmarks
Hardangervidda National Park, situated in Odda, Norway, is a top attraction offering a diverse range of activities and breathtaking sights. The vast plateau, abundant flora and fauna, stunning waterfalls make it a paradise for hikers, bird watchers, and wildlife photographers. Accessible only by foot or bike, the park features marked trails for cycling and walking as well as opportunities for climbing and fishing.
rougher than the region of telemark, more alpine - great colours in autumn - photographers' delight
Christian H — Google review
Hardangervidda National Park is the largest national park in Norway, covering 3,422 square kilometers across Hordaland, Viken, and Telemark counties. Established in 1981, it spans the vast Hardangervidda mountain plateau—often called Norway’s “rooftop”—featuring dramatic alpine scenery, moorlands, rivers, and glaciers. --- Landscape & Nature The park’s terrain includes wide plateaus, deep valleys, lakes, and glacier-fed rivers. The western section is rugged and wet, while the eastern side is flatter and drier. This variation supports a mix of alpine and Arctic ecosystems, including hardy tundra vegetation and high-altitude flora. --- Wildlife Hardangervidda hosts Europe’s largest population of wild reindeer, which roam freely across the plateau. Other notable wildlife includes moose, Arctic foxes, wolverines, and many bird species like the snowy owl and ptarmigan. --- Outdoor Activities Hiking & Trekking: A vast network of marked trails is ideal for both short walks and multi-day treks. The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) maintains cabins across the park. Fishing: The numerous lakes and rivers offer excellent trout fishing opportunities. Winter Sports: In winter, the park becomes a cross-country skiing paradise, with maintained routes and cozy lodges. Cycling: Some areas are accessible by mountain bike, offering scenic and less-traveled routes. --- Visitor Centers & Access Hardangervidda Natursenter (Øvre Eidfjord) and Hardangervidda Nasjonalparksenter (Skinnarbu) These centers provide interactive exhibits on the park’s geology, wildlife, climate, and Sami culture. Access is easy via main roads like Route 7 and the Bergen Line railway, connecting the park with Oslo and Bergen. --- Weather & Conditions (May 26, 2025) Current weather is light rain with temperatures around 2°C. Wet snow is expected in the morning, clearing later in the day. Visitors should dress in layers, carry waterproof gear, and check safety updates before setting out.

Very impressive panoramas! We passed the area on our trip from Bergen to Geilo. It was in June and it was quite cold. But how wonderful this part of Norway is. The mountains were still partly covered with snow. Astonishing beauty.

My first trek in Scandinavia and i will always remember it. Be sure to take the trails appropriate to the time of the year you visit or you might end up having to do crazy thing to manage to get across some portions, be sure to have a beacon or locator app on your smartphone if you do like we did and go about the way you want even if it's not exactly the appropriate time of the year for the trail you're doing.

Stunning scenery. Great walks. We did the 4 waterfalls hike starting at the car park near the Go Karting track. Easy red way marks and signs help show you the way. Surrounding area with calm water, rapids, rocky tracks, gravel paths and forests. A variety of habitats to enjoy and savour. This is part of one of the most beautiful countries we have visited. Highly recommended a visit.

The staff were really lovely and helpful about my disabilities. Which helped make my day easier to enjoy. The pool is so lovely with areas for children as well as adults. The main pool also leads to the outside which gives a wonderful view of the mountains of Hovden. The spa is only small with a few attractions, but it looks very lovely and is a great area to relax. It's very good value for money and I really would recommend this place for the whole family. There are also two waterslides. The food was lacking in vegetarian options, but the staff were kind enough to sort out a very delicious pasta salad. They also took my food allergies very seriously.

Ok place to come to on a wet day with kids. 2 small slides. 2 jaquzzis and a small pool and also an outdoor pool. In general a bit small. They have a good locker system where you can order your food at the pool with your locker key and pay for it when you hand back your locker key. They seem to have a decent selection of food and ice cream at there cafe. We handed in an iphone that we found there today so i hope your reading this review and you get your phone back.🤞 It would be nice to hear you got it back.

Dated and cramped, they are adding a wonderful new expansion and are currently under construction! I recommend visiting after remodeling. Currently not a place you can swim for exercise, but the kids will still love it.
Katt — Google review
Hovden Waterpark is a okay place to spend a couple of hours with the kids, but the place is starting to look really outdated and the Covid19 precautions aren't good at all. We went a Friday and didn't find anywhere saying how many people they are allowed to let it, but we became uncomfortable with the amount in there after an hour as people kept coming in. Hovden is a holiday place this means that people come from all over the country to spend a couple of days which speaks for being extra careful. On top of this then Waterpark naturally attracts a lot of kids and young people and kids who tend to forget the distance regulations when having fun in a pool or water slide. We would have wished for better general information on entry so everyone is informed on how to act inside the Waterpark, lifeguards on the toes to enforce this and more signs to remember people on the rules while having fun. It could work.... The changing rooms are not swiped down after use, no hand sanitizer beyond the entry point. Anyway we left after a couple of hours but had the chance to try the food as well. Bought 4 burgers, firstly they are suuuper high priced, guess it's the "you are in here with no alternative strategy", but then at least make it good. First they forgot to make half of the order, this can happen but super annoying for a family to get burger for one kid. No excuses from the staff but then they urgently made the second round (we ordered 2 vegan and 2 normal burgers) resulting in a highly undercooked (raw) burger for one of my kids. Luckily she didn't not like all the extra fillings they stuffed the burger with and this is another issue - the burger we got looked nowhere near what was displayed on the board when ordering and no questions were asked if we wanted "everything in the burger", I mean corn ain't normal in a burger fx... So we dumped the food an left the Waterpark 1200kr poorer (120€) for a family of 4. Wanted to, but can't recommend this place for the reasons above. It's easily fixable with some staff control so hope they'll get on it! PS. Didn't try the spa part as kids aren't allowed there after 13.00 except for Sundays.
Anders K — Google review
Came here mostly to enjoy the wellness, only to learn that it burnt down (after we entered). Google still shows the photos, placed by the owner some years ago. Can you please remove them? They're quite misleading. The slides were fun though!
Luuk O — Google review
Can I recommend this? Per my experience I cannot. We had to wait in line to get in as the pool was full. (that's perfectly OK) There were 5 showers in the men's room... There were at least 30 waiting in line. The water was incredibly dirty, felt like you were swimming in enough skincells to fit 10 people. There were pieces of foam mats floating everywhere. Even after showering rigorously for 10 minutes at the park and 30 minutes at home I still feel dirty... The main slide they have there has got to be lethal. Its a miracle no one have died in it. If you take it with full speed as I did you run the risk of flying out of it at the bottom and straight into a concrete pillar. A girl who was maybe 10 or 12 almost flew out and got really scared. Maintenence in the general pool seems to be somewhat lacking as the floor was very stained in places. The food was OK but extremely pricey. The locker rooms are very small compared to the amount of people.
Adrian ( — Google review
Nice swimmingpool for young and old. They have fastfood inside by the pool and everything buy you pay afterwards so you don't have to bring money into the swimming pool.

Nice skiing resort, especially for #crosscountry. Some slopes are also quite nice, small compared to austrian alps. Not all slopes were opened jet, which led to waiting times of 15min at the elevators.
Klaus S — Google review
Hovden alpine skiing is a top notch place to learn your kids to ski. Area is beautiful and the slopes are easy, they have a free of charge conveyor belt for the beginners and a good variety of other slopes. We spend 2 weeks here with our 6 year old kids. They don't charge the kids for the lifts before they turn 7 year old, but remember Norway is expensive and money fly fast in every way. Maintenence cost, high salaries ect drives everything up to the extreme so be aware although the NOK is weak these days. Due to Covid19 we choose to only spend Monday to Friday there in both weeks (outside normal holiday weeks) and more or less had the place to ourselves which was super. The chair lift was the main thing open which gave a nice (and long for Norwegian standards) ride down to the bottom. We got lucky with the weather as things can get uncomfortable cold in Norway so bring the right equipment and check often on your kids (we had minus 25 first week). The rental service crew are nice and helpful along with the other staff. 🙏 As a family traveling with smaller kids I can highly recommend Hovden 🎿 For 5 stars I would have wished more slopes to be open, but it's of course understandable to limit it due to weather and lack of guests. We will probably go back! 👏🏼
Anders K — Google review
Large ski resort, button lifts, t-bars and chair lift. Range of pistes, caters for all abilities. Knowledgeable and patient instructors. Bar and pizza place (OffPiste) warm and comfortable. Fairly pricey (but no worse than other resorts in Norway). Parking on site (chargeable). Lockers for ski equipment (chargeable).
Lynsey M — Google review
Pretty cool ski resort, but over half of the resort was closed (Most of the reds to the left) but this might be due to weather or it being early in the season.

quite badly maintained resorts. ground and stones in the tracks, snow makers present but not used. they stop lifts with people still using them. some lifts open within a few hours after opening, some are not working although weather is good. pathetic.
Gediminas C — Google review
Really nice, quite small but also more quiet place. It's not such a good place for beginner snowboarders which are not used to lifts yet because you can't get anywhere if you can't use anchor or plate lifts. (T-lift, tallerken-lift) they have a suuuuper small beginners hill with a magic band. One lift was way too fast, it was almost like a rocket start, but tbh we had a lot of fun because of that. The only real trouble was finding the right shoe size for a lady colleague with a larger size. It was sadly impossible. Would visit again.

Røldal Stave Church, located in the charming village of Røldal, Norway, is a historical gem dating back to the 13th century. This wooden church is celebrated for its remarkable architecture and cultural significance. Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes including majestic mountains and cascading waterfalls, it offers a picturesque setting for visitors.
Its not every day you get to see an 800+ year old wooden church. The craftsmanship is amazing. Its also still an active church.

A small old church, well preserved. A tourist attraction with an entrance fee a bit higher than expected. But when you think in maintenance, it has to be like that.
Arne B — Google review
Cool historic church but first time in my life that I have seen an entrance fee to a church. Have to pay 80 nok to enter. Ridiculous and offensive. It is a place of worship that is supported by government tax, why does anyone need to pay to enter.
Fikrat A — Google review
Beautiful outside, entrance fee was to steep for me to go in.
Wesley P — Google review
Went out of our way to stop here on purpose. The stavkirka looks as unrealistic in real life as it does on the photo. We didn't go inside the museum, just watched from the outside. The town itself is very quiet, peaceful and atmospheric. There are car chargers and a large grocery store nearby, which is very convenient for a stopover.
Jean — Google review
The church looks beautiful from the outside and, based on the pictures I’ve seen, the interior seems really nice as well. However, we visited as a family, and with the price being 80 NOK per person (240 NOK for us), it felt a bit too expensive, so we decided not to go inside. I also overheard several other visitors saying the same. Maybe offering a lower family ticket or donation-based entry could encourage more people to explore the inside and learn about the church’s history.
Katja R — Google review
This is well worth a visit on your way through the mountains. Situated near a good cafe and camp ground the old church is very pretty and really gives you a good sense of the architecture from an older time, it’s interesting for those that enjoy this sort of thing.

Trolltunga is a stunning rocky outcrop that juts out high above a lake, accessible via a challenging 27km hiking trail. The surrounding area boasts snow-capped mountains, magnificent glaciers, and breathtaking waterfalls cascading into the fjords. Visitors can also explore the Flåm Railway and Nærøyfjord, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. This region is rich in natural beauty and history, with remnants of Norway's industrial revolution and hydropower capabilities.
Absolutely amazing and gorgeous 😍 place. You can get there from parking 2 basically. Then take a shuttle bus, climb all the way along the trail or.. use via ferrata! This is in my opinion the best idea if you have enough courage to do it and are fit enough. It will shorten the whole journey significantly and give you more time to enjoy the top. The typical trail up and down is a whole day trip and pretty hard, so really be prepared for the weather. Whole experience is truly amazing and wonderful. Go for it!!!
Adrian W — Google review
The hike to Trolltunga is stunning, and so is the Trolltunga view point. I will give you my advice for coming to Trolltunga. I arrived at P2 at 6:30 and I came early to make sure to have a parking spot. When I returned to the parking at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon there were still available spaces. I must add that the hiking trail today didn't feel very busy. The waiting time at the view point was 5 minutes at 10:30 in the morning. How did I hike? From P2 I walked all the way and didn't take the shuttle bus. The road up there (same one as the shuttle bus drives) is about 2,5km and very steep. When you walk passed the shuttle bus stop on the mountain the first 2km of the trail are also steep. It's s path builed out of large rocks that form a stairway. Don't understand it, this is the hardest part of the hike. After that the trail will remain relatively flat all the way to Trolltunga. The trail is well maintained from beginning to the end, it's pretty much impossible to get lost. Just follow the metal poles and red marks "T". From P2 to Trolltunga and back without a shuttle bus is a ~26km round trip. The views along the way are gorgeous and spectacular!
Lars V — Google review
1. Planning to park at P3? Book parking slot in advance! I’m talking really in advance — we tried 10 days before our hike and every single spot was already taken. 2. The shuttle from P2 to P3 is a lifesaver. Honestly, it saved us both time and energy for the Trolltunga hike itself (ours took 3 hours up and 3 hours 5 minutes back). You can buy shuttle tickets online for the ride up. The ride down is paid on the spot after you arrive back (possible by card). 3. Think twice before bringing kids. We have two — 14 and 10 years old, both super active — but we left them at home. Best decision ever. 4. A summer rain jacket is non-negotiable. In August, the weather changed 10 times an hour — heavy rain, freezing wind, bright sun, repeat. Rocks get slippery, so sturdy hiking boots are a must, preferably fully waterproof. If it’s windy and raining, water will get everywhere, no matter what. 5. Layers are your best friend. With the weather changing so quickly, you can go from hot to freezing in minutes — and you’ll definitely feel the difference. Bottom line: exhausting, unpredictable… and 100% worth it. Enjoy every minute!
Viktorie K — Google review
Trolltunga is absolutely breathtaking! The hike is challenging—long and steep in parts—but every step is worth it for the views at the top. The cliff itself is incredible for photos and the surrounding fjords are stunning. Make sure to bring proper hiking gear, food, and water. Truly one of Norway’s most iconic and Instagram-worthy spots!
Ter N — Google review
The hike was easy for me, been here twice in 3 years, unfortunately the shuttle bus for 2 section is getting pricey. Take sufficient water and queue for the line and enjoy the view.
Dennis Z — Google review
Rather boring hike on a cloudy day and impressive queue to make a picture. We enjoyed the picnic behind the rock, such a cosy spot, you don’t see and hear the crowd. A bit overhyped, I wouldn’t do it again.
Anna C — Google review
Beautiful hike with incredible scenery all along: turquoise lakes, glacier and huge rocks. The Trolltunga is very impressive as well. Be aware on a good day there is a big queue to take pictures on the rock.
Andrei A — Google review
Hands down, one of the most scenic and picturesque places I’ve seen. It cannot be described and photos don’t do this place justice, but let’s say it’s worth every step of those 27.5 km. We parked at P2 and started our hike at 8:15. Beware, because if there is a bus coming down, you might have to park at P1 and wait there a while until they tell you you can continue, so plan this possible delay too. The first leg is definitely one of the hardest (if not the hardest) and there are two more sections along the way which might be a bit more challenging for a semi-experienced hiker. You can fill water from the streams from the first shelter onwards which is around half way to Trolltunga. We took a lot of photos, made short detours, and had two longer breaks around lakes, so it took us around 6 hours to get there. The line for taking pictures between 1 and 3pm on week days is between 30-40 minutes, although if you don’t insist on having your pictures taken on Trolltunga itself or you are in a rush, there is a smaller and similar looking rock just behind it and there might be no line for it at all. We did take pictures on both rocks. The descent took us a little over 4 hours as we kept a steady and somewhat brisk pace all the way down. Again, if you are in Norway and you are in a good enough physical condition, don’t think of skipping Trolltunga - it will be one of the most amazing natural sights you’ve ever seen!

Tveitafossen is the first of four magnificent waterfalls along the Kinso River, each showcasing nature's raw power. This stunning spot is easily accessible and offers a breathtaking view right next to a power station. The hike to Tveitafossen can be challenging but rewarding, especially for those who venture further to see all four waterfalls: Nyastolfossen, Nykkjesoyfossen, and the grand finale at Sotefossen.
Beautiful hike. Not easy but doable for all kinds of people. The waterfalls are worth it.

This is the first waterfall you'll come across if you're doing the hike to see all four which is what we did. Easy to get to but still impressive next to the power station. I recommend getting to the second one if you can but it's a steep climb!

I visited this place with my dog. We walked on the hiking route all the way to the top and had a nice dip in the waterfall before heading down. On the way down i noticed there is another route which is a road with gravel. Such a nice surprice, as the route we took up was very exausting with a dog on your shoulder :-) I recomment you to take both routes, in which order is for you to decide. There is a big difference between the routes and how you watch the river from them and i wouldn't like to miss any of them!

(Translated by Google) Beautiful! The Husedalen hike starts in the town of Kinsarvik, in the western fjords area. From Bergen it is about a 2-hour drive. The walk starts easily, on a paved road. Until the first waterfall, Tveitafossen. That is about a 30 minute walk. Then the real hiking begins. The path becomes steeper and more difficult. But it's worth it 🙂. (Original) Prachtig! De Husedalen hike start in het plaatsje Kinsarvik, in westelijk fjorden gebied. Vanaf Bergen is het ongeveer 2 uur rijden. De wandeling begint makkelijk, over een verharde weg. The next ones are definitely worth seeing, although the approach to them is a bit more difficult. The entire route to the four waterfalls takes about 4 hours of leisurely walking there and back. (Translated by Google) This trip is absolutely fantastic, but somewhat demanding. From the first waterfall you can go further, either by road or by path. We recommend taking the road until you see the signs from DNT (marked T) towards stavali tourist cabin. Then you get the best way along the waterfalls and rivers. Remember to take several breaks on the worst slopes and drink plenty of water from the river. Went on the trip with small children aged 5 and 7, and it went well, but could have been a little better marked with distance signs and generally better marking. Otherwise, the trip was completely adventurous! It is fine to camp between the second and third waterfalls. Just before the third waterfall, there is also a WC that you can use.

This is one of the recommended place if you have kids. Its big enough to explore for entire day. Many activities for kids. Nice and well maintained bathrooms. Good resturants. A bit expenisive though. Swimming pool experience is the best. And kids train, painting, slides etc were great. Amazing experince for kids and family. Has a nice and big parking place. Beautiful views from the park.

Amazing place for kids. My kids loved it and want to go back soon 😻
Suzy F — Google review
It’s a fun place for kids 2-13. Older kids might enjoy it, depending on their own definition of being “cool”, or how good siblings they are. Recommends bringing food and drinks, if you’re in a budget, but food and drinks are available throughout. Recommend bathing/swimming before 12, as the water is warmer and there is less people.
Endre R — Google review
We spend there the whole day, it's amazing place, so much to do! Non stop fun for younger kids! They will not know where to go first! Only minus would be that There's missing something for teen kids! The deepest pool is 110cm, and not allowed to jump! So all together it's dream for kids, boring for older kids!
Tea S — Google review
Very fun play park for young children (under 10). There’s a playground, a small water park area, and an indoor jungle gym. The food isn’t the best (except the French fries which are delicious) but you can bring in your own and there’s even grills available for use if you bring your own hot dogs and such. It is a bit pricey but so worth the smiles on the kids’ faces after a trip there!
Shadai S — Google review
Very nice for the kids to make them happy, busy and playing and swimming. On the same time adults can relax. Because kids don't get boring, just so many activities
Jūratė V — Google review
Good park with many activities for kids. Facilities need upgrades to today’s standards. Fishing possibilities
Fazel K — Google review
Nice amusement park for children 2-12. Lots of aktivities, swimming pool, climbing park, play ground etc. 4-6 hours is enough to complete all activities, of course you can spend all day in park. You should buy ticket before 7-15 days before to secure your place in summer but DO NOT Give Up, if all tickets are booked, it is generally possible to buy ticket after 12.00 or 13.00, you should go to mikkelpark camping reception center to ask if there is empty place. If you hungry there are some cafe and fast food restaurant. (Grill plate 180 Accomandation: There are some hotels and camping place close to the park. Mikkelpark has own camping place. I can also advise kinsarvik camping.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Trolltunga Active, where you can explore one of the world's most breathtaking rock formations. This company specializes in a variety of thrilling activities around Trolltunga, emphasizing quality experiences that prioritize sustainability and safety. With knowledgeable guides who are both motivators and storytellers, you'll be treated to stunning vistas and captivating tales as you traverse the scenic trails. If you're planning your visit, Odda is the nearest town to the trailhead, though accommodation options are somewhat limited.
Absolutely magic day on the Trolltunga winter hike in early Feb. The weather was ridiculously magnificent which made the experience unforgettable. The business operates so finely with dedicated personnel - easy booking, clear communication, big focus on safety and wellbeing and in delivering joyful adventures. The team were amazing at coordinating dates between parties to ensure the trip progressed. The pre-hike brief was great to set expectations and the hike itself was brilliant. Øyvind is a fantastic guide - full of knowledge, great stories and 100% intent on making your day the best! The snow racers down the hill are the perfect way to finish the day - a surprise thrill and only something for the winter time. I also did an intro to cross country skiing adventure and it too exceeded my expectations! Highly highly recommend and fully endorse Trolltunga Active, the hotel, and all their winter adventures! A dream winter playground that everyone needs to experience.

Amazing hike and your guides. The views and scenery were incredible. If you’re going to stay in the shared domes make sure to bring earplugs, in case someone snores, and an eye mask to block out the light. Or ask about their private tent option so you don’t have to worry about that!

Completed the sunset/sunrise combo with via ferrata with Joel and it was absolute amazing. Joel was awesome and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide, especially as a first timer on via ferrata! Getting there after most people have left is pretty amazing too - no queue (which apparently can be 2 hours+) at Trolltunga, had a delicious dinner, and cozy sleep in their glamping tents. Next day was an easy, but long hike back down to P3, where we were excited to see our shuttle to take us down to P2. Absolutely a must do and thank you Joel for being truly amazing!

Did a overnight hike to Trolltunga via ferrata in July with Trolltunga Active and it was amazing, we had a small group on the day and our guide Agnes was very knowledgeable, explained a lot of things along the way.

I absolutely loved the guided hike to Trolltunga! Staying at the Trolltunga Hotel was a game-changer—it's super convenient for starting the adventure, with the prep meeting kicking off there at 9 pm. The beds were super comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant served up some amazing dinners with a beautiful view. Our guide, Stepan, was awesome! He kept us safe and entertained with his stories and knowledge. The hike to the Via Ferrata was a bit tough but totally doable, and the climb was just incredible with those stunning Fjord views. Once we reached Trolltunga, Stepan even rapelled over the cliff to take a group photo. Our second guide, Lucyann, made sure we were well-fed with delicious hot stews that tasted like they were from a 5-star restaurant. The fish stew was a must-try! The outdoor toilet was a short hike away but had the most amazing views, so even that was a fun part of the trip. On the way back, Lucyann kept us safe and entertained with her own hiking tales. Overall, it was an unforgettable adventure, and I can't recommend Trolltunga Active enough. Huge thanks to Stepan, Lucyann, and Eulstein for making it so special!

A very beautiful place, a wonderful hiking route. But the weather was upsetting, there was a lot of fog. Therefore, I recommend checking the weather before going up.

Reasons: - Prioritising speed over safety: pre-signed indemnity waiver was a protection for the company. - Lack of group cohesion: instead of guiding the group as a unit, the guide prioritized leading faster members ahead. Slow members were left behind to manage difficult, slippery terrain. - Poor communication: the decision to reassign us to another group was not communicated to us directly. - Lack of empathy and professionalism: refer to the detailed context below. - Trolltunga is definitely recommended, but I wouldn't go with Trolltunga Active. Context: My husband and I went on the Via Ferrata tour with Trolltunga Active on 17th Oct with Stepan. It started well, from the hike up to the Via Ferrara and finally reaching Trolltunga. We are from Singapore, average build (55kg-60kg, 168cm) in our 30s. Our pace weren't fast in comparison to the remaining two in our group who were always ahead, the guide said that he had to lead their way. My husband and I tend to get left behind. At the top, Stefan mentioned it will be dark about mid-descent and we started descending 3 to 3.30pm. The trail was getting slippery with ice, most of the times both my husband and I were alone to manage on our own as the guide was well ahead with the faster members. Incident 1: While descending an icy slope, I slipped and fell landing on my butt. I blacked out for a moment because of the impact, had to take a moment to recover and evaluate if I was hurt. Stepan who came over from where he was, heard that I was ok, immediately hurried us to continue- "if you don't move, we will be stuck here." This occurred barely a minute after I recovered myself. There was no empathy towards someone who just had an accident. After about 15mins, he sped up to the members ahead. Incident 2: We were still trying our best to catch up until we caught up with another guide (Swedish lady in her 20s who had a passion in nature and rescue, we didn't catch her name). Only then, we learnt that our original guide has decided to completely give up on us to guide the other members descend and there was no communication from the original guide to us. This lady guide was with 2 clients whom we met the night before for the briefing and 1 of the clients sprained her ankle. The lady guide told us we were to follow her instead because our pace is more suited to her group (oh sure, our pace is as slow as someone injured, can you believe this agency?). We decided to follow her since we needed her directions. Sun set was 6.20pm and it was getting too dark to continue without headlamps. The lady guide had only 3 headlamps with her since she was not prepared for me and my husband to join her group (poor planning on our original guide). The 3 headlamps were distributed to each couple and we were told to walk in a line, alternating between with and without headlamps. No longer than 5mins later, I slipped on an icy slope and fell, hitting my face and head with 2 teeth chipped/ broke. The lady guide did an assessment of whether there is a concussion and we continued our descent slowly. With 2 casualties in her group, she radioed the office and the office decided to send another guide back up the trail to meet us halfway. It was possibly 1hr or more later when Stepan approached us. He decided that we were taking too long, and decided to carrying the lady client with a sprained ankle down the descent while my husband and I (with my head accident) descended slowly with the lady guide. I guess since I can still walk, an impact to the head wasn't as bad as a sprained ankle (can you believe the lack of professionalism). We managed to complete our descent at approx. 10 to 10.30pm and got sent our way with photos in our email. The indemnity forms well protected the tour even though we felt that they could have done more on safety and professionalism. I wouldn't recommend Trolltunga Active. Thanks for reading this lengthy review, I just want to share the experience I had with this agency and hope someone will benefit from this post.

Nestled in the stunning Hardanger region, Låtefossen Waterfall is a breathtaking natural wonder that captivates visitors with its twin streams cascading from Lake Lotevatnet. As these two powerful waterfalls converge beneath a charming 150-year-old stone bridge, they create an awe-inspiring sight that draws tourists and hikers alike. Just a short drive from Odda, this magnificent waterfall showcases the raw beauty of Norway's landscapes.
One of the beautiful place to visit, Låtefoss is full of nature's beauty. There are 3 different waterfalls there, two of them are just side by side. A rich of waterfalls. There is a kiosk just beside if two waterfalls and parking spot is there too. You can buy souvenirs and snacks and coffee. The whole area is a beautiful place and much more peaceful. A must visit place in Norway.
Maqsood A — Google review
For the best view, walk down the right side of the parking lot, opposite the falls. You’ll get a nice view with the stone bridge. If you’re on the bride, it’s difficult to get both falls together because they spread apart.
Kiara — Google review
Another unique and beautiful waterfall in Norway. There is a small kiosk beside it for souvenirs as well. Just have to be careful as their isn't that much parking and the road to cross to get to the falls and back is narrow and bust with cars.
Jehangir S — Google review
Fantastic free spot to see the waterfalls. Parking is an absolute nightmare so you're better off parking up or down the road and walking.

Extraordinary sight. It's a must see and worth every détour. You can feel the power and might of the waterfall while getting very close to it.

Låtefossen is a dramatic twin waterfall located in the Oddadalen valley near Odda, in Vestland County, western Norway. Standing at 165 meters tall, it's famous for its unique formation—two separate streams from Lake Lotevatnet join midway down a steep cliff, creating a thunderous cascade that flows under a historic stone bridge on National Road 13. --- Highlights Twin Cascades: The waterfall's twin streams originate from the same lake but descend side by side before merging—an incredibly rare and photogenic natural feature. Historic Bridge: A beautiful six-arched stone bridge, built between 1867 and 1869, sits directly under the falls. As cars drive across, they’re sprayed with mist from the waterfall. Scenic Drive: Located along National Road 13, the route through Oddadalen (often called "the valley of waterfalls") features several stunning waterfalls within a short stretch. Accessibility: Låtefossen is roadside and requires no hiking, making it perfect for a quick scenic stop with parking available nearby. --- Best Time to Visit Summer (June–August) is ideal when snowmelt boosts the waterfall’s volume, and roads are clear. Spring also offers dramatic flow but can come with more unpredictable weather. --- Getting There By Car: Located about 15 km south of Odda along National Road 13. It's well signposted and easily reachable. By Public Transport: While buses run to Odda, a car is best to access Låtefossen and other nearby waterfalls. --- Current Weather (May 26, 2025) The area is experiencing light rain with temperatures around 13°C (55°F). Waterproof clothing and care while driving on wet roads are recommended.

A disappointing experience. The three young women behind the desk didn't seem to have a clue and apparently weren't hikers themselves. They did know the English words for "long" and "short" but looked blankly at each other when we asked about trail specifics. When asked specifically about the Buer glaciar hike, they assured us that trail conditions were dry. Not!

Exciting Place in a wonderful, rough landscape. Take the guided tour in the old zinc mine, it is a blast! We had a wonderful guide and she told us a lot about the history of the mine and the workers. Be aware it is cold, wet, muddy and with some narrow parts. Nothing for people with claustrophobia. Before or after the tour try some coffee and/or cake at the cafe! Rounds up the whole experience! Thanks for the experience to the whole Team there!

Buarbreen, located in the Folgefonna National Park near Odda, offers a picturesque and challenging hike. The trail features diverse terrain including mountains, glaciers, forests, streams, and waterfalls. Hikers must navigate steep and rocky sections with ropes and ladders while also crossing muddy areas. Despite the challenging terrain, the hike is manageable for those in good shape. The stunning views of waterfalls amidst glaciers and fjords make this an unforgettable experience.
The hike tool around 3 hours with a few breaks, it is a beautiful hike, the views are amazing. There are a lot of bridges to get over the beautiful brooks. There are ropes to climb ul the rocks. The hike is a lot of climbing with around 400 meter ascent. The way down goes a bit faster but it is the same route. You can take a detour at the last 10 min.
Finn B — Google review
Nice hike all the way to the base of the gletcher, at the top it was a bit tricky, we had to jump from boulder to boulder to cross the waterfalls. But the reward was at the top. Awesome view there!
Arjen — Google review
The views are stunning! We managed to reach the top with our dog, but I wouldn’t recommend it for small children or small dogs. In some places, you need to use chains to climb up. The glacier can only be accessed with a guide—otherwise, you can just see it from fairly close once you reach the top. It took us about 3 hours with short breaks in both ways.
Austė K — Google review
This hike is Crazy!! You will see a little jungle in the middle of glaciers and fjords. You can start your hike in the near of Odda (8km from the city center) as a cool-down the day after Trolltunga. The views are tremendous. The waterfalls going wild these days and you will cross many of them on the way to the top. We had 500m of ascent and in total 10km back and forth. At the parking you have to pay 185NOK for the day. At the entrance of the hiking trail you will face horses and cows in their habitat. Just make sure you bring water resistant shoes and a bottle of water, that could be refilled on the entire way to and on the glacier.
Niklas — Google review
A really interesting and fun walk, lush green to start with a rocky trail then some slightly more challenging sections with ropes (these are a little trickier on the way down) and clambering but this makes it go quick. Some great spots for a snack break with views and a very cool end to see the bottom of the Glacier pretttyyy close! Highly recommend but you should be confident on your feet for the latter half.
Hannah W — Google review
From the parking lot you get your first glimpse of the glacier. Parking cost 150NOK a day and you pay by credit card when leaving. From the parking lot you follow a marked path. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the walk is as much of the event as the glacier itself. The trip is close to 3 km one way, and with normal walking speed you will use 3-4 hours in total. Most of the time you walk on rocks and boulders and there are also some parts where you need to use the fixed ropes to climb or rappel. No climbing experience or equipment is needed, but you would benefit from having good leg and arm strength. Good hiking shoes are required, and don't forget to bring warm clothes as you end up 650 meters higher than you started and cold winds from the glacier pours down the valley. You won’t be able to walk on the glacier itself as a meltwater river stream at the base blocks your way. Enjoy!
Arn P — Google review
The hike was great, going up the rocky path, including several places where you have to use ropes/chains. However, it is not too difficult. It looks rather steep from below, but despite some harder spots the hike was totally ok and the glacier was actually closer than it appeared from the valley.
Zuzana H — Google review
One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done (and I live in Switzerland where we have so many stunning hikes). This hike doesn’t take long, less than 3 hours if you’re in good shape, and the variety of terrain you see - mountains, glacier, forest, streams, waterfalls - is spectacular. The trail is rocky and steep in parts, requiring use of ropes and ladders to scramble up some of the slopes. You also have to cross a few muddy, wet areas, so be sure to wear good hiking shoes. Enjoy!

We came to Folgefonna from Oslo, a mixed group of 10 Erasmus students in their early 20s. Jonas - our guide was great and made the whole day an unforgettable experience! The personal approach and the trip tailored to the groups abilities and wants was much appreciated. Throughout the whole journey everyone felt safe thanks to the well organisation and equipment provided by the whole Folgefonni Glacier Team. Additionally to that, the extra equipment Jonas had on him - e.g. Ice screws contributed to extra safety in some advanced sections he took us to. The quick and helpful communication by Åsmund, prior to the trip ensured everything was clear and everyone came prepared. This was a 5***** experience and recommend it to everyone! Even if going in smaller group I would 100% say it would be worth the extra price!
Kamill — Google review
The Glacier Walk is moderate to difficult in places depending on your fitness level. Some in our group found the walk strenuous. Overall, the trek is strenuous in only the beginning and some sections of climbing. Depending on the snowfall, you may not see much of the glacier, but the views on the region and history the guides share make the trip worth it. There will be 1 hour of preparation and instruction. The guides are very professional. I would rate them among the best guides I have encountered in my travels. The trek is 5 hours.

A glimpse of Glory of the past. The center is worn out, closed and what it left is detoriating. There is rust ly equipment and trash everywhere. Norway unworthy, but the views are epic, that much remains unchanged.

Great experience, really like that they have a few guides, so they split between easy, medium and difficult groups and we can choose which group to go with. I had a minor knee issue so was concerned if it’s going to be too strenuous but didn’t want to miss out on the trip. We went with the easy group and got to see and experience what we came here for without stressing my knee with a super long hike. Excellent!

I did the Blue Ice Hike a 4 hour excursion over the Fonna Glacier lead by our wonderful Tour guide Karl. It was medium intensity hike with some big uphills but we were slow and steady. It was intense weather, wind and rain, but that’s why we have glaciers! I absolutely recommend this hike to anyone looking to get outside and do some easy glacier hiking! The staff and guides were all wonderful, helpful and made us all feel very safe! Enjoy!

Langfossen is a magnificent waterfall located in a picturesque mountainous setting. With a total drop of 600 meters, it has been recognized as one of the top 10 most beautiful waterfalls in the world by CNN. The waterfall cascades from 600 meters above sea level to around 50 meters, offering breathtaking views of the fjord. Visitors can easily access Langfossen by road and are recommended to make a stop to admire its powerful flow and stunning surroundings.
Norway has massive waterfalls, and Langfossen is quite an exquisite show. EXTREMELY GORGEOUS. Moreover, the mountainous landscape spices up the awe of sighting the whole feature. The falls, though! It breathtakes.

Definitely it is one of the spectacular waterfalls I have seen In Norway or other countries. A must see place on the was to Haugesund to Oslo. It has a stunning view. The water falls from such heights that for some moments you just can’t move and keep watching the fall of water. There is also a small hike trek if some have time to explore that more, highly recommend.

Langfossen is truly one of Norway’s most breathtaking natural wonders. The sheer power and beauty of the cascading waterfall are mesmerizing. The way it tumbles down the mountainside, surrounded by lush greenery, creates a spectacular scene that feels almost unreal. The viewpoint along the road offers an incredible photo opportunity, and if you have time, stopping for a closer look is well worth it. The sound of the rushing water, the fresh mountain air, and the stunning scenery all around make this a perfect stop on any road trip in western Norway. A must-see for nature lovers — Langfossen captures the raw beauty of Norway at its finest.

As you travel along Fv. 520, you'll find convenient parking that allows you to embark on a short hike under a newly constructed bridge and stairway system, which was completed in 2006 as part of Norway's National Tourist Road Project.
Here is another breathtaking waterfall that you should not miss off the Scenic Route 520. In fact, you only see half of it off the road. To appreciate its beauty, you should hike up. The trail is well maintained with steel stairs. The rusty red of the stair has good contrast out off the surroundings. Nice and easy hike, you will see the full waterfall. Very very beautiful!

Svandalsfossen has a fall of 180 meters in total. By Fv. 520 you can park and walk under the bridge to really experience the waterfall close up. In 2006 an impressive bridge and stairway system was opened under the auspices of the Norwegian Road Directorate's National Tourist Road Project. The stairs are steep and lead up to the foot of the upper waterfall, where you will be rewarded with a fresh shower.

Very beautiful waterfall but can only be appreciated fully by climbing the stairs. From the top you are awarded a scenic view of the water fall and the fjord below.

It's not much water but still beautiful.

Nice waterfall. This particular day it was hot, so we took our swimming gear and snorkles and had a little swim in the fjord underneath. A great refresher and a great stop.

My first Bungee jump, and it was just awesome. We were assisted by highly professional and nice youngsters. We had amazing time. Affordable prices as well. Highly recommended.

The staff was amazing! Very professional and they added the perfect touch of calming your nerves before the jump while also hyping you up and instilling enough confidence to take the plunge. The views are awesome as well. Highly recommend this venue if it’s your first time, like it was for me!

Fantastic experience! The staff is higly focused on the security rutine, prepare the stuff then ask how you are. In that important order. Then you jump into the great adrenalin rush you imagine and enjoy the incredible happiness feeling so alive! Go ahead jump into it! 😁
