Amazing little museum, informative both about Van Gogh’s ties to the Gachet family and about the family themselves. The audio tour is very well made.
Annabel — Google review
Maison du Docteur Gachet is a part of Van Gogh sad life story. This house is in Auvers sur Oise around 15 minutes slow walk from the centre. If you are Van Gogh fan go and enjoy.
Magdalena K — Google review
Nice to visit if you are a fan of Van Gogh. Self guided, with a great booklet to carry around with you in English on Docteur Gachet and the house. The walk is not as long as it looks on the map.

First, it is free. Second, they have modern exhibitions there. Third, it is great walk through amazing neighborhoods there. Forth, the good doctor has a unique place in the history of impressionist artists. And finally, it is just beautiful at the right times with some amazing overlook views of the town.

A must-go if you are a fan of impressionist artists. I recommend paying for the audio guide.

Château d'Auvers is a 17th-century estate located in Auvers sur Oise, offering landscaped gardens and a multimedia exhibition about Van Gogh and French art. The chateau is situated on a 2-mile walking tour of the town, where visitors can explore the picturesque village and visit nearby attractions such as Ile de France, the church that van Gogh captured in his paintings.
What a beautiful place within a beautiful place. If you're and art fan, impressionists, post impressionists, this is a must see. The village is cute and quiet and picturesque. Dedicated to Vincent van Gogh and immortalized in his most famous paintings. Paris is just two short train rides away. So quiet, so peaceful. Highly recommended.
Kyle — Google review
Extremely underwhelming. No or very few original art. Garden’s don’t seem to be that well taken care of. All for the price of 12€ seems extreme for your return. Also the chateau is bare. Also no furniture or original decor, more of a museum of “what if” purely based on Van Gogh without any original story of why the chateau is there, its importance, and who owned it.
Tyler A — Google review
Nice Chateau and it's gardens so you can visit them free of charge. Visited Van Gogh exhibition which was interesting and informative. I found out about his last months and days. There is a little shop and restaurant on site as well as free lockers for your bags.
Magdalena K — Google review
A lovely château to visit while in the area. You can walk around the palace grounds and gardens for free while you admire the views of the surrounding valley and city. I didn't do anything in château but still greatly enjoyed the palace just from the grounds alone.
Walter C — Google review
The price of 14 euros (visit+audioguide) is steep, especially considering that all the relevant paintings are facsimilés. The audioguide is required in order to properly follow the visit, but again it does not render the experience any better than reading free wikipedia articles with google images.
Grenville O — Google review
Small and beautiful town, you can reach it by train and cars, the castle is not so big, but it contains a good museum which shows you the story of artists of that town. But the most beautiful thing that I like it so much is the library of the train station, yaaay I will visit that library in the future I'm sure 😉
Youcef L — Google review
Fun museum and nice castle! The museum is one big audiotour with different rooms. There is in every room a projected video where you can sit down and listen to the life of multiple impressionist artists.
Jana V — Google review
It's a petit mais beau chateau at Auvers sur Oise. Located right in the way from musée d'absinthe (or maison de van gogh/his tomb or the church or maison daubigny, etc.) to maison du docteur Gachet. We made a nice little stop on the way. Entry to the park is free but inside the chateau is paid. There's parking and a restaurant called "Le Nymphe" right behind the main structure of the chateau. There are gardens on 3-4 levels, one you have the porch right at the level of the chateau from where you get a great view of the jardin à le français below and the entire village along with the hills beyond. Steps lead down from the jardin à le français to what initially seems like just a small fountain surrounded by trees however there are are some small lawns behind. In front of this lawn is the entrance to the exhibition areas or the Orangerie. However, I didn't see them as we had other spots to look at! There are other tree-lined paths lined horizontally in the plane of the chateau. Overall it's a pretty place to chill and relax, the view from the jardin right outside the main building is very beautiful. We also had our lunch picnic in the lawns at the lowest level.

Maison de Van Gogh

Specialty Museums
Maison de Van Gogh, also known as Auberge Ravoux, is a historic site that holds great significance for art enthusiasts. This humble inn was the final residence of Vincent van Gogh, and visitors can step into Room 5 where the artist spent his last months. The house offers guided tours in English or French, providing insights into its history and a short film experience. Additionally, there's a cafe located beneath the house that has been in business since Van Gogh's time.
Well worth it for fans of Van Gogh who like to feel his presence and understand his last days staying at this auberge. The short film at the end of visit show some of his last works painted in Auvers-sur-Oise.
Terry W — Google review
As Van Gogh fan you have to go there to see where he spent his last days. There is a little shop on site and the guide girls are very nice and delivering Van Gogh story with humour and sensitivity. After seeing his little room there is short film about his life in Auvers sur Oise. His room is upstairs and downstairs is a restaurant which stayed unchanged from his time. Must see. Ticket costs 10€
Magdalena K — Google review
This is where Vincent Van Gogh spent the last 70 days of his life paining 74 pieces of art. Ticket is 10 euros and no picture allowed. Only guided tour is available either French or English. I enjoyed it but said how he ended his life.
K. Z — Google review
Absolutely worth it, even if you are not a van Gogh fan... It was so interesting the see his room, where he used to hang his paintings to dry and even the place where he used to go to eat everyday at the inn! I will definitely try to go there again! Thank you! Also, the guide was wonderful, she was very knowledgeable and kind, Merci!
Angie B — Google review
We visited the house on an empty weekend. It is not possible to take pictures of the room space because it is not allowed. Admission ticket will include a guide (you can choose English or French). Each tour will last about 30 minutes so we hear about the history and a short film. The ticket comes with a pretty postcard, and underneath the house is a cafe that's been in business since Van Gogh lived there.
Rachel N — Google review
Definitely a must visit for those who are interested in Van Gogh’s life. Very good English speaking guide who had a lot of interesting (sad) stories. We were lucky that the 2022 season was extended for one extra month.

Having lunch at Auberge Ravoux – Maison de Van Gogh was a truly special experience. Sitting in the very room where Van Gogh lived and took his meals brings an incredible sense of connection to history and art. The lunch itself was wonderful — everything was homemade, from the delicious charcuterie to the beautifully prepared deserts that highlight local ingredients. There’s a sincerity and authenticity to the food that perfectly matches the soul of the place. It's rare to find a setting where history, atmosphere, and cuisine come together so perfectly. A deeply memorable moment — I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Churches & Cathedrals
Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Catholic Church at Auvers-sur-Oise is a charming and elegant church that holds historical significance as it was immortalized by Vincent Van Gogh in one of his most famous paintings. The church's interior is adorned with beautiful religious paintings and sparkling stained glass windows, while its exterior evokes the impressionist style depicted in Van Gogh's artwork. Situated near the cemetery where the artist rests, this small yet captivating church also hosts concerts during holidays.
This is the church that Van Gogh painted and though it’s small, it’s quite charming inside also. We stayed in this town for some time and the church holds concerts during the holidays and we actually saw a young man working for the church during one of the events and he spoke very good English. We always go in to say a little prayer.
Los N — Google review
There is a certain attempt to block the scenes Van Gogh painted. This local government has put non-sense blocking panels in front of the church and in front of the "roots". There are many empty facades around the church, you can put this irrelevant painting on any of them, but no. They put it on the very exact angle the artist painted the church. This mayor should stop her sick Van Gogh hatred. You are ruining the experience of many art lovers travelling for hours just to see this village for Van Gogh.
Onur C — Google review
Such an amazing architecture. Probably one of the famous sites in auvers because of Van Gogh's painting. Definitely worth the visit, better to do a bike or hiking tour in Auvers and this is a must visit.
Renz L — Google review
The church made famous by Van Gogh. Fairly typical of its period, it's rather pretty but no more so than many other churches. However, the painting changes everything. Unfortunately, it's not in the best condition. From the interior, the church tower looks to have been shored up to strengthen it.
Simon A — Google review
It is a nice church with a nice view. Inside you will find nice paintings. The original painting by Van Gogh can be discovered in Paris

Auvers-sur-Oise Cemetery, located in the picturesque village north of Paris, is a significant site for art enthusiasts and history buffs. This tranquil cemetery sits atop a steep hill just outside the town and serves as the final resting place for renowned painter Vincent Van Gogh and his brother Theo. Visitors can also find the grave of Corneille nearby. The cemetery offers a serene atmosphere with beautiful views of the fields that inspired some of Vincent's last paintings.

Jorge R — Google review
Auvers-sur-Oise cemetery is a typical but, with one exception, an unremarkable French communal cemetery. That exception is, of course, that it is the final resting place of Vincent van Gogh and his brother Théo. There are several other artists buried here, but the majority of people only visit for van Gogh. British visitors may also be interested to see the graves of three airman, killed during the second world war when their plane crashed near Auvers. There is also one lone Australian soldier from the Great War.

Beautiful cemetery, on a hill in Auvers-sur-Oise. Here you'll find the graves of Vincent and Theo van Gogh. Just a few graves to the right from there you'll find the grave of Corneille. It's nice and quiet upthere.

Oct 2014--My wife and I stayed in Paris for 5 nights and took day trips from our B&B Cote Montmartre on Rue Jean-Baptiste Pigalle in Montmartre district. One of our trips was from Gare St. Lazare connecting in Pontoise, arriving in Auvers sur Oise at mid-AM. We ate brunch across from the station and walked past the church to the cimetiere exclusively to see Van Gogh's grave. Before entry, one can see the fields to the west and south of the cimetiere which were featured in Vincent's last paintings. One can also walk through those fields from the cimetiere back to town. Highly recommended. Our visit was made more special by visiting Musee d'Orsay with the Impressionist exhibit, featuring the works of Van Gogh, before we day tripped to Auvers. but, we love impressionism and most especially Van Gogh's works and his personal history.

Royaumont Abbey

Mentioned on

Abbey
Nature & Parks
Royaumont Abbey, located 35 kilometers from Paris, is a former abbey with beautiful gardens and a vibrant events program. The area surrounding the abbey is rich in historic buildings such as the abbeys of Maubuisson and Royaumon, as well as the chateaux of Ambleville, Grouchy, and La Roche-Guyon.
What a beautiful and peaceful space. I was stunned at the size of the abbey and loved the back story of the pieces that were removed during the French revolution. 13th century artifacts are fascinating. We also found it charming that there was a kid field trip to the location. I wouldn't personally go fully out of the way to visit, but if you're in the area, this is a great 2 hour relaxing space with open fields and history. We were visiting from the chateau next door.
Clemens W — Google review
We went there on a visit and, paid 10€ per person expecting a nice long historical visit after driving two hours, thinking we'd get historical context etc. As a visitor and non-resident (primarily a hotel), there's barely anything to visit, so the visit takes 15-20 minutes. Nice place but not worth the time/money
Matthew M — Google review
I enjoyed visiting this historical place, a walk around this site and its gardens was amazing. The site of the old destroyed church is preserved with viewpoints displaying the building. I only visited for the day to see the site, so I can’t speak about the hotel.
Johan G — Google review
Unreal visiting this place! We arrived on a cold, wet, rainy day. The gardens are beautiful! The building is unreal impressive. The 3-D recreation of the church is SO AMAZING to see through the stereoscope. While we were there, a group of people were rehearsing for a concert. The sound was absolutely beautiful! DO NOT PASS UP A CHANCE to see the Abbey!
Lyndel T — Google review
We have seen many abbeys around France, so finding this one had good reviews made it an easy decision to visit. My guess, however, is that those reviews are maybe for the hotel rather than for the abbey as a visitor attraction. The entrance is very expensive for what you get. Only a handful of rooms are open, and the only one that will last in the memory is the monks dining room. The rest are just empty spaces with no real character or interest. The proposed route begins with a cave filled with old light bulbs, with no explanation why this might be of interest. Then you go past various kitchen gardens, which are mostly abandoned to weeds. On reaching the building you enter the cloister (no access to the garden) and the few open rooms are all accessed from there. You could do the whole thing in 10 minutes.
Colin M — Google review
Beautiful Abbey surrounded by amazing gardens! The only thing a bit disapointing was the food

Sights & Landmarks
The Arc de Triomphe is an iconic triumphal arch located in the 8th arrondissement district of Paris. It was constructed between 1806 and 1836 to honor Napoleon's military victories during the first French Empire. The monument stands at 164 feet tall and 148 feet wide, adorned with intricate designs on its four arches.
Visiting the Arc de Triomphe for the first time was truly amazing. Standing beneath this monumental arch, I could really feel the weight of history and the beauty of its design. Every carving and detail tells a story, and being there in person made me appreciate it so much more than just seeing it in pictures. Climbing the 284 steps to the top was a challenge, but absolutely worth it—the view of Paris stretched out in every direction, with the Eiffel Tower standing tall and the Champs-Élysées looking endless. The view was breathtaking and made the whole experience unforgettable. It’s one of those places that captures the magic of Paris in a single moment.

【Quick Summary】A spectacular view of Paris at night! The illuminated Arc de Triomphe and the sparkling Eiffel Tower view from the top are absolutely breathtaking. 【Purpose of Visit】Perfect for an evening visit, especially for night view appreciation, right after checking in on your arrival day. ✅ Experience (Highlights) After a flight from Tokyo, we checked into the hotel around 4 PM and headed straight to the iconic Arc de Triomphe. * ✅ The View from the Arc: While the illuminated Arc de Triomphe itself is grand and full of charm, **the Eiffel Tower's sparkle illumination (Champagne Flash) seen clearly from the top of the Arc is truly unmissable.** * By visiting during the transition from dusk to night, we enjoyed a complete panorama: the grandeur of the Arc, the lights along the Champs-Élysées, and the dazzling sparkle of the Eiffel Tower. * ✅ Final Impression: I believe everyone who witnesses this view will fall in love with Paris. It was a magical moment—the highlight of a perfect Parisian evening.
Shunichi S — Google review
An iconic monument that beautifully captures the spirit and history of France! 🇫🇷 The Arc de Triomphe, commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806, honors those who fought and died for France during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The intricate carvings and sculptures are stunning, and the eternal flame beneath it pays tribute to the Unknown Soldier — a deeply moving sight. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, offering a perfect 360° view of Paris and the Champs-Élysées. Visit around sunset to see the city glow and the Eiffel Tower sparkle — truly unforgettable! ✨
Ashmeet S — Google review
The Arc de Triomphe is one of Paris’s most iconic monuments — bold, majestic, and deeply symbolic. Standing at the top of the Champs-Élysées, it commands attention from every angle, perfectly aligned with the avenue and the city’s twelve radiating boulevards. Built on the orders of Napoleon I to honor the French armies, the arch carries incredible detail — from sculpted victories to engraved names of generals and battles. Seeing it up close, you realize how massive it really is, far larger and more imposing than photos suggest. I visited recently, and the experience was unforgettable. The monument stands proudly at the Place Charles de Gaulle, surrounded by a never-ending swirl of traffic, yet it somehow feels peaceful once you step onto the pedestrian walkway beneath it. You can climb to the top terrace (about 280 steps), and the view is absolutely worth it — the Eiffel Tower, La Défense, and the Champs-Élysées stretch out in perfect symmetry. If you time it around sunset, Paris glows golden, and the city truly feels eternal. “A symbol of victory, memory, and beauty — standing atop the Arc de Triomphe feels like standing at the heart of Paris itself.”
Amrit D — Google review
What's not to love. It's an incredible landmark and more beautiful than I imagined. Make sure to take pictures not just close up but farther away as well. If you are trying to figure out where to stay, I would recommend staying near the arc instead of near the Eiffel Tower.
Jackie — Google review
I visited the observatory in spring, summer, autumn and winter because the colours around the Arc de Triomphe change with each season, and they are beautiful. The view is also different by day and by night; while the Eiffel Tower offers a lovely panorama, the Champs-Élysées seen from here, especially at night, is even more striking and well worth the climb. Most people do not take the lift but climb the very narrow circular stone staircase, so those with mobility issues or the elderly should use the lift instead. Tickets must be purchased in advance for your preferred time slot on the official website. The staff at the ticket desk are very friendly, so if you need assistance, simply queue and they will be glad to help.
Louise L — Google review
One of the most iconic and must-visit landmarks in Paris, located near Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station. From this point, twelve grand avenues radiate outward, with the world-famous Champs-Élysées being one of them, leading all the way to Place de la Concorde. The area is rich in history and architectural beauty, offering stunning views and plenty of photo opportunities. It’s a wonderful place to take a leisurely walk, enjoy the lively Parisian atmosphere, and admire the surrounding cafés, shops, and monuments. A visit here is truly a classic Paris experience!
Moza A — Google review
Just visited the iconic Arc de Triomphe in Paris and I'm still pinching myself! This monumental arch was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to honor his Grande Armée and was finally completed in 1836. The monument's sheer grandeur and historical significance left me in awe. The views from the top are breathtaking, with the City of Light stretching out in every direction. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the eternal flame add a poignant touch to this symbol of French national pride. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Paris!

Av. des Champs-Élysées is a renowned avenue in Paris, lined with gardens, upscale shops, and restaurants. It's a must-visit for anyone exploring the city, offering a picturesque stroll from Place de la Concorde to Place Charles De Gaulle. The avenue's beauty and elegance are highlighted during Christmas when it's adorned with colorful lights. While some historic hotels have closed, Av. des Champs-Élysées remains an iconic symbol of Parisian charm.
Nice place for a walk. From arc of triumph straight the avenue you can spend 1 hour walking

It is a must visit place in Paris, and it end (or begins) at the Arc de Triumphant. I highly recommend visiting the Arc then walk at the avenue. This way you won’t be going up hill.

Plenty of food, luxury brands stores, galleries, restaurants and... People!! Nice but too crowded. In opinion, there are better, nicer and more glamourous boulevards (like haussman or near la place ve done)

Fancy street where a visit to any store on here is going to cost you at least a 1000 euros. Listed in the "lovely places to take your wife if you win the lottery."

Beautiful Avenue during holidays. A major thoroughfare connected the Arc of the Triomphe at one end and Place de la Concorde at the other end. It is always bustling with cars and people all year around. Many store fronts lined up both sides of the avenue including famous Louis Vuitton store front with line of shoppers.

Eiffel Tower

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Eiffel Tower, an iconic symbol of Paris and France, was completed in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel. Despite initial plans for its demolition after two years, the tower has endured as one of the city's most popular attractions. With its 18,038 pieces of metal, it offers three floors and options to ascend via stairs or lifts. Visitors can also enjoy restaurants and bars inside. The tower's lighting effects at night are a must-see.
A Magical Day at the Eiffel Tower I visited the Eiffel Tower today and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment I stepped onto the Champ de Mars, the Iron Lady’s latticework felt both grand and surprisingly graceful. The views from the top are breathtaking—Paris stretches out in every direction like a living postcard, with the Seine curving through the city and landmarks popping up everywhere you look. The experience felt smooth and well-organized. Staff were friendly, and even with the crowds, the lines moved faster than I expected. I loved taking my time on each level—there’s something special about pausing with a coffee and just soaking in the panorama. As evening fell, the tower’s sparkle made the whole scene feel downright romantic and cinematic. If you’re planning a visit, I’d recommend booking tickets ahead of time and going a bit before sunset so you catch daylight, golden hour, and the first twinkle after dark. Whether you take the elevator or brave the stairs, the journey itself is part of the fun. All in all, today’s visit was unforgettable. The Eiffel Tower isn’t just a must-see—it’s a must-feel. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Aryan P — Google review
• No ticket needed: You don’t have to buy a ticket to enter the tower or queue for elevators—just pick a great external vantage and you’re free to shoot at your own pace. • Excellent photo spots nearby: Many well-documented locations give iconic Tower views from outside—e.g., Rue de l’Université, Rue de Buenos‑Aires, Avenue de Camoëns. These spots are highlighted in photographer guides as “hidden” or less-crowded alternatives. • Flexible timing: Because you’re not tied to a ticket time, you can go early morning, late evening, or at twilight to capture different lighting and mood. • Lower cost: Skipping entrance means saving time and money, and focusing instead on the view and atmosphere. • Great for casual or photographic visits: If your priority is the Tower in your photo, rather than ascending it, this approach works perfectly. ⸻ ⚠️ What to keep in mind • You miss the “inside” experience: You won’t go up into the tower, see its internal architecture, or get panoramic views from heights—it’s purely an “outside vantage” experience. • Crowds/lines possible at popular spots: Even external photo spots can be crowded (especially the very popular ones like Trocadéro or Rue de l’Université). Some guides warn of “many people” even at street viewpoints. • Lighting & viewpoint selection matter: Good photos depend heavily on time of day, weather, background composition (street, river, buildings). If you go at the wrong time you may get harsh light or less dramatic angle. • Expect standard viewpoint, not “secret”: Many external spots now appear in photo-spot guides and social media; so while you’re not entering the tower, you might share the view with others. • Still some cost/time: If you go out for the trip, you’ll still invest time (walking, transport) to reach a good baseline vantage.

Well, if one is in Paris it’s hard not to visit. Queues can be long so best to get there early and be prepared to wait for a while. Tickets are not expensive. Splendid views from the top, of course, particularly on clear days. Overall well worth a visit if one is there. Fun for all the family although small children may get bored by the wait and be less than impressed.

🇫🇷 An Essential Paris Experience: Unforgettable Views and History! Visiting the Eiffel Tower was a highlight of our trip to Paris. Even on a cloudy day, the structure itself is breathtaking from the base. The sheer scale and engineering are incredible, making it a truly iconic landmark. The Experience: We took the time to go up to one of the platforms, which I highly recommend. The views of Paris are spectacular, giving you a completely different perspective of the city. Being inside the lattice work of the tower itself is an experience. I especially appreciated the historical information available on the different levels, detailing its construction and use for early radio transmissions. It adds so much context to this magnificent monument. Tips for Visitors: Book Tickets in Advance: Lines can be very long, so pre-booking is essential to save time. Allow Plenty of Time: There are security checks, queues for the lifts, and plenty of things to see once you're up there, so don't rush the experience. Photo Ops: The viewing platforms offer incredible spots for family photos, framed by the beautiful ironwork and the city below. Overall, the Eiffel Tower is a must-see landmark that lives up to its reputation. Highly recommended for all visitors to Paris!

We walked up the stairs to the second floor which was a right mission... but so worth it the views as you walk up are brilliant. Had a refreshment stop before heading to the top via the elevator. Stunning views of the city on a very clear fine day...

It's just a miracle. The best place I've ever seen. I recommend it to absolutely everyone. The spirit is breathtaking. And in the evening it's even better because it shimmers. I recommend climbing the tower, the views are beautiful.

Beautiful structure no matter which angle you take the photo from whether it's day time or night time. There's a small museum on top of the tower. Amazing views of the surrounding areas around Eiffel Tower. It's good if you take the skip the line ticket as you can go up without queueing.
Noorzidah N — Google review
Proud to have actually been there to see it. Incredible fascinating structure. Great view, if one manages to go up for a look-see. Naturally, a ticket needs to be bought as per one's time slot. There are lifts to take you up, some tiny shops to let you browse and to buy souvenirs for back home give-aways.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Pont Alexandre III is a late 19th-century arched bridge in Paris, known for its ornate Beaux Arts style. It is considered the most beautiful bridge in the city and offers a great spot to watch the sunset. Classified as a National Historic monument, it features intricate details such as gilt-gold statues of Fames, art nouveau lamps, and golden foliate designs.
Beautiful bridge with nice views, where you can take great photos. The bridge has some statues very well constructed, from baroque style. I recommend you to visit this bridge if you are at Paris.
Juan S — Google review
Walking across the Pont Alexandre III is an experience that feels less like crossing a river and more like strolling through a piece of art. This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful bridge in Paris. The sheer opulence is staggering—from the detailed bronze sculptures of nymphs and cherubs to the magnificent, gold-gilded statues atop the four massive pillars. Every detail is a photo opportunity. It connects the Grand Palais and Petit Palais on one side to Les Invalides on the other, meaning the views in both directions are spectacular. It offers an unmissable vista of the Eiffel Tower, making it a perfect spot for sunset. It’s less of a utilitarian crossing and more of an essential Parisian landmark to savor slowly.
Kyle J — Google review
Oh this had been on my travel wishlist and it is a very beautiful bridge and I highly recommend seeing. We walked past and over it and it's great for running. Very lovely veiws too.
Lillian P — Google review
One of those Parisian icons you just can’t miss. Paris in a crazy sense is a frustrating city because every time you turn your head, you see something more beautiful than next thing. But then all of that is dominated by the Eiffel Tower. But this bridge is a close rival. Every time we cross it, we see something new.
David S — Google review
One of the most beautiful bridges in Paris — richly decorated with golden statues, ornate lamps, and breathtaking views of the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, and Les Invalides. Both by day and at night, it’s a magical place for a stroll and perfect for photos. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A must-see Paris landmark full of charm and elegance.
Irene G — Google review
This bridge is pure theatre. Built for the 1900 Exposition Universelle, it is decorated with gold statues, ornate lamps, and sculptures that look like opera props. It is also one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower in the entire city. The contrast of the gold details against the blue-grey Seine is breathtaking. If you go for photos, go during golden hour or at night when everything is lit up. Stunning spot.
Neel B — Google review
The Pont Alexandre III is one of the most beautiful and elegant bridges in Paris. Its stunning architecture, golden statues, and detailed lamps make it a true masterpiece—especially magical at sunset or when lit up at night. It also offers amazing views of the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, and Les Invalides. A must-see spot for a stroll or photos during your visit to Paris.
Mr. F — Google review
Pont Alexandre III is actually quite far from the Eiffel Tower, and if the sun is on the opposite side, your photos will look grey and flat. For me, it wasn’t the best spot for Eiffel Tower pictures. The bridge itself is beautiful though — especially the chocolate-colored railings, which are really elegant. But as a photo spot with the Eiffel Tower, it’s not as impressive as people expect.

Musée de l'Armée

Army museum
Museums
The Army Museum, also known as Musee de l'Armee, is a prominent military history museum located in the grand Hotel National des Invalides in Paris. Established in 1905, it showcases an extensive collection of weapons and uniforms from various French military conflicts. The museum's vast complex spans 8,000 square meters and includes two church extensions. One of its most famous attractions is Napoleon's gilded tomb housed within the Invalides.
The Army Museum of Paris, located at the Hôtel des Invalides, offers a fascinating dive into the history of the French army. With an impressive collection of ship models, uniforms, weapons, and historical artifacts, it highlights key battles and the technological evolution of naval warfare. The space is spacious and well-organized, though a bit dense for those not particularly interested in military history. However, the grandeur of the building and its connection to Napoleon make the visit a must. It's ideal for those looking to learn more about France's naval legacy. In addition to its exhibits, the museum houses Napoleon’s tomb, located in the nearby Dome Church. This majestic, imposing site is a tribute to the French emperor, whose influence on both military and French history is profound and lasting. Its design make visitors to look the tomb from the top as a sign of reverence to Napoleon. It also has other tombs from important military characters from the Napoleonic wars.

It’s an huge military and defense museum which requires hours to walk around and study each piece. The tickets allow you access to the chapel and toms too. The academy (current museums) has four sides. Each side has four levels. So plan your time if you desire to see all pieces.

One of my favorite museums I've ever visited. The Hôtel des Invalides is absolutely amazing, full of history and incredible exhibits. It actually took us two full days to walk through the whole place, and every part was worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris - such a great and unforgettable experience.

Amazing experience. I have been to Paris multiple times in the past but have never been here until today. Displays are modern and well presented. The physical size and scope covered is both impressive and exhausting. All French wars from the last 500+ years are covered in excellent detail showing uniforms, weapons and armor. If this is your thing, it’s amazing. Quite confident I will return on a future visit to Paris. I was here on a Friday mid morning and traffic was very light. Highly recommend!
Mike M — Google review
If you're a history buff, this is the place for you. There are exhibits consisting of weaponry, uniforms and armour that covers the period of World War Two all the way back to the Middle Ages. If you want to examine EVERY detail you will HAVE to spend a few hours here! It is a must for military history enthusiasts! It is one of the best military collections in the world and it is located next to Napoleon's tomb. I have never seen a larger collection of suits of armour anywhere.
Dan T — Google review
Hands down the best museum in Paris! Lots to see and, aside from Napoleon's tomb, the museum was not at all packed. They also have a free audio guide app you can download. We went to this museum twice and spent around 8 hours across 2 days in total.
Nicole — Google review
Les Invalides is a place where French history breathes through every corridor and courtyard. Originally founded by Louis XIV as a home for wounded soldiers, the complex now unites museums, monuments, and one of the most striking domes in Europe. Beneath it, in the Dôme des Invalides, rests a chapter of history that shaped a continent — including the monumental tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte, honoring not only the man but the era he helped forge. The Musée de l’Armée offers a rich journey through centuries of military history: armor, weapons, regalia, artworks, and personal stories that bring the past to life. The grounds are expansive, beautifully maintained, and perfect for lovers of architecture, history, and unhurried wandering. A visit to Les Invalides is an experience where silence, beauty, and power meet. It is a place where the past not only speaks but teaches — with dignity, without judgment, and with a deep respect for those who shaped its story. If you love history, Les Invalides is a place you simply cannot miss. 🇫🇷✨

Located in a stunning 18th-century mansion, Musée Rodin is a must-visit attraction in Paris. The museum showcases the influential works of Auguste Rodin, including the famous sculpture 'The Thinker.' Its lush sculpture garden adds to its romantic ambiance and features beautiful blooms year-round. Visitors can explore Rodin's boundary-breaking path from naturalism to modernism through his monumental and evocative creations such as 'Walking Man' and 'The Gates of Hell.'
Just a fantastic museum to visit. We came in on Wednesday ~11AM, no line at all, and the entire place was not crowded at all. I heavily recommend purchasing the audio guide - it’s a high quality experience with visual aids that is well narrated and paced. The full tour of the museum + garden is around 2h30m, and there’s also a highlights option that lasts about 1h. Whether you’re a lover of sculpture or not - I think this is a very underrated museum to visit and much more pleasant than some of the more overcrowded options.
Kostyantyn K — Google review
The sculptures, especially pieces like The Thinker, are truly magnificent and so powerful. The gardens are also a lovely setting for the art. My only minor complaint is that the ticket price felt a little expensive, but the incredible artwork definitely makes it worthwhile.
Danny S — Google review
Rodin Museum holds a large collection of sculptures in a variety of mediums that were gifted by Rodin to the State of France. There are some sculptures by Camille Claudel. This building is where he worked during his life. There is a sculpture garden that contains noteworthy pieces like The Thinker and Gates of Hell. There are paintings by other artists. This was an excellent Museum that had such an amazing collection.

Exceptional collection of Rodin's sculptures and a few pieces by Camille Claudel. This is a well organized museum with a logical progression. While strolling by yourself there is fine, a tour really adds value because you wouldn't notice many things otherwise. The museum was unusually overheated. The garden made for a pleasant walk and contains many more statues, including in a little side pavilion with a large glass panel.

One of my favorite museums in Paris. I could walk here all day. There’s so many little corners where you can stop and take a seat away from the crowds. I was having a Midnight in Paris moment when we entered as it started drizzling. Annoying to some, buy magical to me. My first time here was the first time I visited almost 20 years ago. I remember being in awe at everything I saw. I was in constant amazement at all the figures I saw. And that was just outside. Don’t even get me started on the actual museum. It was just as magical this time around. I decided to take a stroll around the garden then stopped to rest in that little corner where certain pieces were behind a glass door. Just by the gates of hell. All I kept saying during my walk was how crazy it is that not more people come here. It’s never as crowded as the other smaller museums, but has so much to offer as far as getting more bang for your buck. The garden area alone is worth the entry fee. There’s a perfect spot where you’re standing in front of the thinker and behind it is the Eiffel Tower. You honestly cannot get better than that. Don’t forget to go inside the museum. I saw a bunch of students in random corners drawing one of the figures. It was so nice to see. See you again next time.
Julie D — Google review
Just a fantastic museum to visit! We came on a Wednesday around 11 AM — no line at all, and the whole place was comfortably uncrowded. I highly recommend getting the audio guide; it’s an excellent companion with clear narration, visual aids, and a well-paced experience. A full tour of the museum and garden takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes, but there’s also a shorter highlights option of roughly an hour if you’re short on time. Whether or not you’re passionate about sculpture or military history, Hôtel des Invalides is a truly underrated destination — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and far more enjoyable than some of the overcrowded Paris museums.

Wow! My wife and I have been to Paris numerous times and had never been to this museum. We made a point to go there this time and we're so glad we did. It is beautiful and interesting inside. But, in my opinion, the outdoor sculptures and the grounds are absolutely phenomenal. Definitely make a point to get over here.

Specialty Museums
Nestled in the heart of the Tuileries Gardens, Musee de l'Orangerie is a museum renowned for its impressive collection of 20th-century European art. Originally an orangery for the Tuileries Palace, it now houses iconic works including Claude Monet's famous Water Lilies series.
• The building itself is beautifully situated in the heart of Paris, at the southwest corner of the Jardin des Tuileries, near Place de la Concorde, which gives it a serene and convenient location. • One of the major draws: the museum is the permanent home of eight large murals by Claude Monet titled Les Nymphéas (Water Lilies). These works are considered masterpieces and they’re displayed in a specially designed series of oval rooms — an immersive experience. • The museum also holds a rich collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, with works by Henri Matisse, Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and others. • Because it is somewhat smaller and quieter than some of the giant Paris museums (like the Louvre Museum or Musée d’Orsay), it often offers a more relaxed pace. Visitors praise it as a restful, high-quality stop. ⸻ ⚠️ Things to watch / considerations • While the museum is excellent, the overall size is modest compared to huge institutions; if your goal is a full-day art immersion with many wings and vast collections, you might find it less extensive. Some visitors say: “Very nice … but doesn’t compare to the giants.” • Because of its popularity (especially the Monet rooms), the museum can get crowded in those key galleries at peak times. To have the best experience, timing helps. • The museum is closed on Tuesdays. Typical opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission around 5:15 p.m. • Some signage and labels may be more detailed in French than in English, meaning that visitors who read only English might wish to arrange for an audio guide or download a guide ahead.

What a wonderful museum to explore !! More of a relaxing experience to be sure. Not as hectic or as busy as The Louvre. You really get to enjoy the displays more than you would at other museums. You Definitely do not feel the pressure to keep moving like other locations. Many Renoir’s to view as well as Picasso’s, Gaugain’s and many Monet’s. The 8 water lily’s mural collection is amazing !! I would highly recommend the Musee de l’Orangerie as a must see while in Paris. So many beautiful works to view and enjoy. Paul and Andrea Canada 🇨🇦

Easily one of the best small museums to visit. It’s just as crowded as the others, but much smaller so not as overwhelming. They famously house Monet’s Waterlillies in multiple rooms. It is truly breathtaking. It would be more enjoyable if people weren’t right in front of it taking multiple videos as if they were making tiktoks. Multiple members of the staff had to shush them as they got too noisy. There are a ton of other great pieces here. I saw so many notable pieces. I think I walked each area a couple of times. It’s a pretty small space. I highly recommend making a day of it and hanging at this area alone. The museum is at the corner of the Tuileries Garden. On the opposite side is the Louvre. You can dedicate a whole day just in this corner alone. On a good day you can chill by the fountain and watch the ducks swim by. It doesn’t hurt that the metro stop is just steps away.
Julie D — Google review
Loved seeing Monet’s Water Lilies — they’re absolutely breathtaking in person and beautifully displayed in the oval rooms. The colors and light feel alive. That said, it was quite crowded, and not everyone was being as quiet as you’d hope in such a peaceful space. Still, definitely worth visiting for Monet’s masterpiece.

A great museum with a variety of contemporary paintings and other exhibits as well as the crown jewel, the Monet Lillies huge paintings! It was an easy museum to enter and roam around. I was surprised by the range of exhibits which were very interesting to see and learn about. The Monet Lillies were of course majestic and there was enough space for people to sit on the couches in the middle of the room to rest. The only downside was that the cafeteria was under renovation and could not have a snack break. I would visit this museum again to see their interesting exhibitions as well as try their cafeteria space!
George K — Google review
I will definitely be back. What a beautiful experience to see some of the most classic pieces of art. Make sure you get tickets in advance or plan to wait anywhere from 15-30 minutes. I was lucky to get in around 5pm on a Sunday (it closes at 6pm) I had enough time to browse and take it all in. Very small & quick experience.

I loved this museum. The huge Monet waterlilies were meditative. The rest of the museum had a great permanent collection and a show by Berthe Weille, Parisian female art dealer. There were noteworthy pieces in the show and it was a very interesting approach for curation. Be prepared to wait wait in a line outside. It is a great museum.

Tuileries Garden is a 17th-century formal garden in Paris, known for its statues and historical significance. The garden hosts the popular Tuileries Christmas Market, offering a mix of Christmas-themed carnival and market attractions. It stretches along the north edge from Rue des Pyramides to Place de la Concorde and attracts millions of visitors each holiday season. The garden's French-style design features precise geometric layouts and allegorical statues by renowned sculptors.
Stunning well kept gardens with gorgeous views of the aesthetic buildings surrounding it. We walked from through the gardens to the Louvre and it was beautiful stroll. I liked how there were lawn chairs around the fountains. Great place to sit down, relax, enjoy a nice chat and or a good book. Was a beautiful day in May to visit the gardens. Highly recommend!

These photos were taken last summer and last winter, and if you visit the Louvre Museum, I highly recommend taking a rest here. Once winter arrives, rides and food stalls appear, and although the Ferris wheel feels a little shaky, it is the only spot that offers a full view of the Tuileries Garden. As a note, the food is neither very varied nor particularly tasty, but I suggest sitting on one of the green chairs by the large circular fountain to enjoy a moment of relaxation and truly take in Paris.

what i like the most about this parisian garden is to seat around the fountain, i just think it's very romantic yet calming. you can read books or just stare! it's not the type of green park it's more of a grandeur royal park?? (hope you understand what i meant..)

Jardin des Tuileries is beautiful, especially in November when the gardens already start to feel Christmassy. Walking through the paths, enjoying the sculptures and fountains, it’s a peaceful and charming spot. Perfect for a relaxing stroll and soaking in the seasonal atmosphere.
Raushan N — Google review
Despite being here in Autumn / Winter-ish time, the gardens were still pretty, the evergreen buses and trees contrast wonderfully against the creams, beiges and browns of the buildings surrounding it, providing a lovely area to stroll through and look around. We would love the see it in the Spring / Summer with the flowers in bloom.

Tuileries Garden is one of those rare spots in the heart of Paris where time seems to slow down. Nestled between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde, it’s the perfect escape from the city’s rush — a place where you can just sit back, breathe, and take in the calm. The atmosphere is beautifully relaxed, with locals and tourists alike lounging on green chairs by the fountains, children sailing little boats across the ponds, and the sound of laughter floating through the tree-lined paths. What makes it even more special is its charming ride — the Ferris wheel (La Grande Roue de Paris). Taking a spin gives you a stunning panoramic view of the city: from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower, all framed by the park’s elegant symmetry. It’s both romantic and peaceful — especially at sunset when Paris glows in gold.
Omid K — Google review
Today was Fete Tuileries, so all of the gardens were flowing with people and rides for kids and plenty of chairs for everyone to sit down. The gardens and flowers are lovely and they are dotted with sculptures to add even more beauty. Very pleasant and police to help keep things safe and orderly. There are large umbrellas for people to sit in the shade as they eat and drink. Fun and beauty for all ages
Naomi S — Google review
The Tuileries Gardens are pure magic in the middle of Paris. Just steps from the Louvre, they offer a breath of calm and beauty that feels almost otherworldly compared to the lively streets just outside. It’s the perfect place to slow down and really soak in the essence of the city. The carefully manicured tree-lined paths, sparkling fountains, and timeless sculptures create a dreamy blend of art and nature that captures the soul of Paris itself. What makes the Tuileries so special is their versatility. You can take a quiet morning stroll, sipping a coffee and watching the city slowly wake up, or spend the afternoon people-watching as Parisians and tourists alike fill the park. Children laugh as they sail toy boats in the fountains, couples linger on benches, and artists sketch in the shade. Every corner seems to tell its own little story. Golden hour is particularly enchanting, when the setting sun bathes the gardens in warm light, casting long shadows across the gravel walkways and making the statues glow. Whether you’re walking through on your way to the Louvre or simply sitting still and letting time pass, the Tuileries never fail to offer peace, elegance, and that uniquely Parisian sense of timeless beauty. Truly, it’s a must-visit.

She even led us all the way to the tax refund counter and saw that we were well serviced before leaving us with our purchases. Thank you!

I absolutely adore my new Serpenti ring. Special thanks to our advisor Amy! She was very kind, attentive, and caring. Definitely one of the most patient, professional, and friendly sales advisor I’ve ever met. The service was amazing. We had a great time, many thanks!

I visited the leather goods department on the 02/01/2020 for buying my first Serpenti bag. They sold me a bag which had a small deffect, I called as soon as I saw it after arriving home, but they accused me of breaking it. The next day I went to the shop to exchange it, finally they accepted but the sales assistant remained unfriendly and still implied that I was the responsible. Another disappointing point about Bulgari is the fact that the bag just comes with a dustbag... You pay about 2.000 € for a bag and you don't get a box as LV or Chanel do???? It is a shame! I would have never expected such a bad experience!

I was very pleasantly received by, I think, the manager or director of the store and a consultant who was in training. I went and engraved my Save de Children ring. They were nice, they took care of me and my ring; they also helped me choose the right engraving for her. The service was fast even though it was the holiday season, I was able to collect my ring a few days later before leaving on vacation to Venezuela :) very nice experience with a very nice brand. Palais Garnier is a 19th-century Italian-style opera house in Paris, known for its opulent design and historical significance. The building features a stunning ceiling painted by Chagall and houses a library museum. Its exterior is adorned with pillars and busts, reflecting Napoleon III's architectural taste. Inside, visitors can marvel at the grand marble Grand Staircase, lavish gilding, onyx balconies, and rich red theater seats famously depicted in 'Phantom of the Opera.'
A truly unforgettable experience! This is a very elegant place where you can fully enjoy the stunning architecture and timeless charm of the Opera Garnier. Every detail, from the grand staircases to the intricate frescoes and gilded decorations, showcases the history and artistry of this iconic Paris landmark. The atmosphere is simply magical, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a masterpiece. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates beauty, culture, and a touch of luxury.

I visited the Opéra Garnier in Paris because I have visited city many times before but never this opera house. It was a very interesting and beautiful place to see. The building looks large and detailed from the outside, and the inside is clean, bright, and carefully kept. I took the self-guided tour, and the ticket cost €15 for one adult. Buying the ticket online was simple, and there was no long wait when I arrived in the morning. The audio guide explained the history of the opera house in a clear way. The Opéra Garnier was ordered by Emperor Napoleon III and designed by Charles Garnier, a young architect who won a competition in 1861. The construction started that same year and took fourteen years to finish. It opened in 1875 and became the main home for opera and ballet in Paris. Today, it is mostly used for ballet, while most opera shows are held at the newer Opéra Bastille. Inside, there are large marble stairs, gold decorations, and many paintings. The main hall is wide and bright, and the theatre has red seats and a big chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The ceiling painting by Marc Chagall was added in 1964 and gives a nice mix of old and new art. I spent about one and a half hours walking around. It was quite crowded, but I could take my time to look at everything. I think the visit was worth the price, I learned a lot about French history and saw a very important part of Paris’s culture. I would suggest visiting it if you are interested in art, history, or nice buildings.

Beautiful church up on the top of hill. Don't try to walk it but take an Uber instead. Once you get up there you will not be disappointed with the view of the whole city. Walking down is OK and probably 500 steps. Close by the church (1/4 mile) is the Lugdum museum which is also worth while visiting. Has an old roman style open theatre.

This is a place everyone must see when visiting Paris. The building is amazing! Fans of Phantom of the Opera will be delighted to see where it all happens! Unfortunately, they don’t allow you to go underneath the place. Don’t miss the Marc Chagall painting on the ceiling of the theater.

The Palais Garnier completely exceeded my expectations, it felt like stepping into a fairytale. The architecture, the gold details, the chandeliers, and that grand staircase are absolutely breathtaking. Even though the Opera Hall was closed for rehearsals during my visit, the rest of the palace was so stunning that it didn’t matter at all. Every corner is a piece of art, and it’s one of those places where you just have to stop and admire the beauty around you. Highly recommend taking your time to walk through the Grand Foyer and the main staircase, it’s pure magic ✨

Very fancy place. Many good photo spots. I would definitely recommend if you were looking for a place to spend about 2 hours in the city area. Tmit's not included in the Paris Museum Pass so it cost me some extra money, but it was worth the visit. I wouldn't recommend if you were looking for a place to soend the while day because the size of it is not massive like other big museums. And I recommend to make a booking in advance. Otherwise you have to wait long hours or even cannot come in eventually.
Jay M — Google review
Beautiful and grand! An absolute must-see in Paris. The architecture is stunning, from the marble staircases to the gilded ceilings and chandeliers. Even if you don’t attend a show, being there feels like stepping into another era. You do need tickets to visit the palace.

We did the Guided Mysteries of the Palais Garnier Tour at 5pm. The theater closes its doors and made the after hours experience even more alluring. They offer several different guided tours and immersive experiences at the Palais Garnier that focus on the building's history and architecture. Our tour highlighted the mysteries surrounding the building's construction and the "Phantom" legend, and sat in the Phantom's box. Marc Chagall painted the ceiling of the Paris Opera House(Palais Garnier). The finished mural, covering nearly 2,400 square, the spectacular masterpiece is breath taking. One of the most beautiful places to experience.

Modern art museum
Housed in a former railway station, the Musée d'Orsay in Paris is renowned for its major 19th- and 20th-century European art collections. The building was originally constructed as a central terminus station on the site of the ruined Palais d'Orsay and was designed by architect Victor Laloux.
I'm using Paris Museum Pass, just join the line via Entrance C. This is one of the coolest art museums in Paris, it’s a must-visit if you’re Van Gogh's fan or simply into art. What makes it really special is that the building itself used to be a huge train station, it was the Gare d’Orsay, built around the early 1900s. Instead of tearing it down, they turned it into a museum, which means you get this amazing mix of old industrial architecture and art all in one place. Inside, the museum is packed with incredible artworks, mostly from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You’ll find tons of famous Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings here, artists like Monet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, and Cézanne. If you love those bright, colorful paintings or want to get a feel for the art that changed the world, this is the spot. Besides paintings, the museum also has sculptures, decorative arts, and photography. It’s pretty manageable in size, so you don’t get overwhelmed like in some bigger museums. The museum sits right on the left bank of the Seine, close to the Louvre and the charming Saint-Germain area. So, it’s easy to fit it into a day of exploring Paris. It's recommended to visit here. :)

A wonderful collection of art from the time of the invent of the camera forward. The Orsay Museum houses some of the world's most treasured art pieces. From Monet, Gauguin, Manet, Renoior to Van Gogh and so many more. Paintings and sculptures abound in the former train station. A half-day should be the minimum amount of time spent in the great halls of the Orsay. My last visit we elected to use a self-guided audio tour and enjoyed every step. The Dance at the Moulin De La Galette by Renoir is my current favorite. Degas' multi-texture sculpture Petite danseuse de quatorze ans is another favorite. The Orsay is along the Seine near many other stops that I like to make when in the area. Stroll along the river and take in the magazine stands and vendors. Maybe a river tour starting from Pont Neuf. With a little time left in your day the Luxembourg Gardens and the Shakespeare and Co Bookstore are easy additions to your afternoon trek. While I might prefer the Louvre or the Vatican overall as a museum...the Orsay has so many great works of art it should be included on your itinerary. Definitely, something for everyone on this side of the Seine.

I absolutely loved the Musée d’Orsay in every way. I'm still processing the incredible experience— the art, its history, and the vibrant energy that fills the space. The best part was that, even during my 3–4 hour visit, it never felt overwhelming like some other large museums. I'll definitely return every time I visit Paris.

Big museum with nice art. Building used to be a train station and they converted it into a museum There are 3 floors and stairs are on both ends. There is a restaurant with an outside terrace to take nice pictures from. I'd recommend coming here if you're in the area.

I didn’t get the ticket in advance but it was very easy to get in. There was only a few people in front of me at purchase point and no wait to get in. Quite crowded inside but if you navigate yourself well you can find moments where people passed by and the spots become quiet. Insane collections. Love love love their pieces. Highly recommend coming here for the Paris visit. I would plan at least 2 hours for being in here so you dont rush around. It was wonderful!

Too many tourists - the impressionist section was more like a football ground. The museum controlled the entrance to the cafe better than the crowds in the impressionist section. It was impossible to enjoy the art. Not worth the entrance fee in my view.

A beautiful large museum that used to be a train station. Has multiple levels of art work from modern to post impressionism. The Starry night was one of the main attractions. There is a huge cafe on the top level, and a large outside area to see great views of Paris - can clearly see the Sacre Couer Basilique in the distance. This is a must visit in Paris.

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre is an iconic white church in Paris, completed in 1914. The construction began in 1877 as a response to the defeat in the Franco-Prussian war. It was funded by the public and consecrated in 1919. The interior is adorned with mosaics and stained-glass windows, making it an impressive sight atop the hill of Montmartre.
This is a beautiful trip you should do when in Paris. You shouldn't miss it, not only for the beauty of the Sacré-Coeur, but the view of the city is astonishing from there. True is that Notre Dame has the appeal, and it's also a beautiful church to know, but the Montmartre funicular is a tiny wonderful trip on its own. The lane to enter the church is not so heavy, and inside it's beautiful as well. I'm not a believer, but these places make you feel something spiritual beyond your beliefs. Then after being in the church, take the stairs downwards and go through the neighborhood, which is in itself very likable, and have an ice cream (Gelato), the way they do it there.

If you're in Paris, this is a must-visit spot. It’s free to visit and offers breathtaking views of Paris from all angles, thanks to its location on the top of the Montmartre hill. Apart from being a place of worship, it's also a symbol of peace and hope. I visited at 1 pm and it was quite crowded with tourists, but I still managed to enjoy the atmosphere peacefully. It's easily accessible by metro, and be prepared for some uphill walking since it's located on a hill. Really enjoyed here.

Montmartre Church is one of the most famous places in Paris. It is located on a small hill, and after climbing a few steps, you can enjoy an amazing view of the city. Most of Paris is visible from this point, although the Eiffel Tower is partly hidden by trees and buildings. The church itself is one of the most beautiful in Paris. I was lucky to visit while prayers were taking place, creating a truly divine and peaceful atmosphere. It also has a rich history, which makes the visit even more meaningful.
Arunbhaarat — Google review
It was a great experience to be there at the time of Mass. The view of the city from the church is breathtaking. The atmosphere inside the church was so calming and full with positive energy. The building is very well maintained and is very inspiring as well. What a great example of great architecture. There is no ticket/entry fee for the church. You can use cable_car service as well if you find difficulty to climb to the church. P.S: Keep your belongings with you and be careful outside area.

Visiting Sacré-Cœur was another must-do on my Paris list. I started walking from Galeries Lafayette around 2:30 PM to get there. It’s a walkable distance if you enjoy walking, and it’s a great way to explore the heart of Paris. Be ready though—the roads are quite steep! You’ll find plenty of cafés along the way, but if you’re traveling from India on a budget, be prepared—coffee here is quite expensive. Paris, and France in general, can be pricey compared to many other European countries. When you reach Sacré-Cœur, you’ll need to climb a long, steep staircase to get to the top. Once there, you can use an old-fashioned binocular to get a beautiful view of Paris. Many people sit on the wide steps to relax or take pictures, as you get a perfect view of the church’s front from there. You can go inside if you want, but most people prefer to stay outside and enjoy the scenery. You’ll often see street performers and artists entertaining the crowd, and a few vendors selling souvenirs nearby. It’s definitely a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Paris!

What a gorgeous basilica! It’s a building in Paris that we couldn’t avoid on our last evening, we took the stairs up to the top, which was quite a bit of effort after already walking up the step hilly streets in the area. But gosh was it worth it! The area was so crowded with tourists and locals alike all wanting to get a view over the city and selfies in front of the building. And you can tell why, the architecture is stunning, there is so much detail, and if you’re a movie fan then you’ll know the basilica features in John Wick.
Jamie H — Google review
A beautiful white-stone basilica sitting at the highest point of Montmartre, offering one of the most impressive panoramic views of Paris. Built between 1875 and 1914, it was commissioned after the Franco-Prussian War as a symbol of hope, faith, and national renewal. Its architecture mixes Romanesque and Byzantine elements, with a bright interior, stunning mosaics and a peaceful atmosphere that contrasts with the lively streets of Montmartre below. A must-visit landmark perfect for history, architecture and a breathtaking view of the city.
Patrizia P — Google review
Amazing spot with one of the best views in all of Paris! The basilica is gorgeous — the art and architecture are seriously next level, like stepping into a marble masterpiece. But heads up: avoid weekends or festival days unless you enjoy crowds and selfie-stick battles. 😅 Go early or on a weekday to really enjoy the peace .Totally worth the climb — your legs might complain, but your eyes will thank you! 👀✨

An Unforgettable Montmartre Experience with the Amazing Silvia! My partner and I had the absolute best time on our walking tour of Montmartre, and it was all thanks to our incredible local guide, Silvia, from GetYourGuide. She was absolutely fantastic! Montmartre is a beautiful and historic neighborhood, but Silvia's passion and deep knowledge brought its streets to life. She was a wonderful storyteller, sharing fascinating anecdotes about the artists and history that we would have never discovered on our own. She led us through charming hidden courtyards and down secret alleyways, showing us the true soul of the neighborhood beyond the usual tourist spots. Silvia was warm, engaging, and funny, and she made sure everyone in the group felt included. If you are considering a tour of Montmartre, I cannot recommend this one enough. And if you are lucky enough to have Silvia as your guide, you are in for an absolutely memorable experience! Five stars!

Montmartre has a magic all its own. It feels like a little world tucked just outside of Paris — even though it’s right in the heart of it. The vibe is effortlessly cool, with that artsy, bohemian energy that makes you feel like the cool kids live here, create here, and hang out in the cafés here. There’s art everywhere — in the streets, on the walls, in the air. It’s creative and a little rustic, full of history and charm. Even though it was swarming with tourists, it didn’t feel like a tourist trap. It felt special. Authentic. Like you’re part of something, even just for a moment. I found the best souvenirs here — unique, personal, not the mass-produced kind — and the people in the shops were honestly some of the friendliest I encountered in Paris. Genuinely charming and warm in a way that surprised me. The parks and gardens add to the magic, and the views from the hill? Unreal. If I come back to Paris (and I will), this is definitely the neighborhood I’d want to stay in. Montmartre is 100% my vibe.

What can I say these pictures speak more than a thousand words. It is just insanely beautiful. Montmartre has such a special charm, especially with that artistic vibe and the stunning views over all of Paris. Getting a portrait (or a caricature) done there would’ve been such a sweet memory. The Louvre Museum, a former historic palace, is home to an extensive art collection spanning from Roman sculptures to the famous 'Mona Lisa' by da Vinci. The museum's official boutique, Chalcographie du Louvre, offers a variety of high-end gifts and limited-edition artist prints. With its architectural significance and iconic glass pyramid entrance, the museum showcases valuable paintings, sculptures, jewelry, artifacts, and even features a dedicated area for the Museum of Advertising.
Loved it, it is really amazing 😍 we bought the tickets in advance and spent only 30 minutes in a line as it was supposed. We did not have much time but three hours were enough to see what i wanted especially the Louvre Couture ❤️ audio guide appeared quite complicated 🤣 but the security people were very friendly and helpful 💖 If you are going to visit Louvre do not plan anything else on that day simply enjoy with a nice walk in the park or surrounding streets and try local cafe or restaurant...

It was a short time in Paris so I can't book the ticket in advance. And the day I come to the museum close( on Tuesday). You can book the tickets 🎟 from the website. But I had a chance to visit around, it was a very big place. If you want to see all you need to take more days for it. You have to book before you come. If not, you'll have to wait a few hours to buy a ticket. It was a famous place and I guess it was a main museum in Paris. I was going down to get some relax and play some game 🎮 down there. That was a fun and great experience. I might come back to visit the Louvre museum next time. Highly recommended when you visit Paris

An unforgettable experience! It’s the biggest and one of the most visited museums in the world. The Louvre is truly a treasure trove of world history and art — from the Mona Lisa’s mysterious smile to the grand halls lined with masterpieces. Although the lines are long, it’s absolutely worth the wait. Give yourself plenty of time — you’ll want to get lost in its endless beauty!

World's biggest museum so you have to visit it when in Paris. Worth the visit because there are some world class works of art here. Mona Lisa is the most popular art piece in this museum and it will always be crowded to view it. But plenty of signs leading you to exactly where this is located. The queue was not too bad on a Thursday morning. I reserved for 10am and got in around 10:20am. You line up right outside the glass pyramid. There will be signs for the different times you reserved for. Bring a water bottle with water because the museum did not have a single water fountain. I consciously looked for them and did not find any. Or you can buy an expensive bottle of water from their cafeteria. I stayed for 4 hours and looks like prime time was around 1pm. The cafeteria was packed and people were standing to eat.
David — Google review
Totally worth the visit, but be prepared to walk for more than 4 hours if you want to see everything it has to offer. A lot of different cultures, time periods and artifacts. One of the best museums I’ve ever visited! Buy the tickets in advance and be there 10mins before your time slot!
Isidora V — Google review
The greatest museum I have ever seen in Europe. You can see so many different arts. I recommend buying tickets in advance online, otherwise there is a 1-1,5 hour waiting time to entry. Prepare to spend the entire day in the museum. You need about 6-7 hours to see all the museum. You can find coffee shops inside, or bring something to eat with you

The Catacombs of Paris, also known as Oussaire Municipal, are a fascinating and mysterious underground labyrinth that holds the remains of around 6 million people. Originally limestone quarries, these tunnels were transformed into a haunting display of skulls and bones arranged in decorative patterns in the Romantic Gothic style.
One of those fascination all human has with dead thing and to see it in such a volume is fascinating! I visited the Catacombs of Paris in my first time to Paris in 2018 and this place was the most standout from that time so when I had a chance to come back to Paris again this was the only place I wanted to revisit. (And the cheese fondue restaurant) I think they might have lower a cap number of people in each time slot now since when I tried to book tickets most of the time slots are all sold out and only a couple left for the 2 days I was in Paris. It was also very quiet and not many people down there. It was super nice to be able to take your time to walked around and look at things slowly! I really enjoyed that 💀 I didn't see the skull coin souvenir last time so I was so glad to get some magnet and coin this time! 🪙☠️ The staff was very friendly and professional! Great gift shop at the finish of the tunnel! Somehow I blocked out information about the 300 spirel stairs to go down into the tunnel and come back up from last time, got a bit dizzy 🥴 going down too fast 😂 Definitely a recommendation of thing to do in Paris.

Excellent place to visit, on the day of visting, I noticed at 11am all the tickets for the day were sold out for the Friday, so it's worth getting a ticket in advance. It's organised well from the way the scheduled times are filtered to the quick security checks. The audio machines are high quality and easy to use, they are available in different languages. Security is tight and there are frequent visits by security within the catacombs as the greatest damage is actually done by people touching the bones. There were over 6 million people's bones here and here there was no hierarchy so poor people could have been next to the rich. It is sad that this catacomb was discovered as houses caved in due to the underground void leading to the discovery. The tickets can be booked directly from the place and in this instance there is no need for a guide as the guide cannot jump the queue and its a one way system, full price with an audio guide is 31 euros, 25 euros for reduced price, and 12 for people aged 5 to 17 years, it is expensive in comparison to other sites like the Eiffel Tower or the Lourve. Note the catacombs will shut from 03 Nov 2025 to spring 2026. Tickets can be booked 7 days in advance. The visitor entrance is located at the following address: 1, Avenue du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy (place Denfert-Rochereau) 75014 Paris. There is a limit on the size of bag that can be taken (40×30cm), no strollers tripods etc are allowed. Flash photography is allowed so long as it doesn't cause issues to other guests. The place is limited to 200 per day and it is not encouraged to visit if you have mobility issues, there are 131 steps going down and 112 to ascend, some places are slippery so care must be taken, the walk is 1.5km and can take an hour to negotiate.

The catacombs of Paris are great for history buffs, people who love architecture, people who love morbid or creepy stuff, people who are are spiritual or religious, and anyone interested in learning about the truth behind Paris history. Definitely worth the trip to see, it’s amazing to see how such a dense city grapples with the limited space and demands of a large population. Absolutely reminds you of how human you are. Definitely worth booking a private tour. Audioguides are only €6 and you can reserve on site, but I booked a tour guide. Awesome trip. Loved seeing the altar and Christian artworks and crosses. May all of the souls in the Catacombs rest in peace.

The labyrinth of limestone is fascinating, everyone buried together without hierarchy is humbling and to walk through and experience this is very unique. A must do when you’re in Paris. The process of finding and creating the catacombs is also incredible. Great self-guided tour, the audio guide is detailed enough to give you plenty of info without being boring or too lengthy. The queue system for the different time slots works well. Staff were helpful. I would highly recommend this, it’s not too far away from the centre, if you like walking you could walk there or just take a quick ride on the metro. We booked tickets in advance and they were rather limited as it’s so popular.

This is a very unique attraction in Paris. It’s really cool to experience such a place, however the visit is too short and I wish you got to visit more of the catacombs. Of the 300km of tunnels you only get to see 1km of it. Online reservations are recommend. It was cool and I recommend.

The Paris Catacombs are a historic underground ossuary and former limestone quarry that holds the remains of over six million people. We visited in 2017 and had never heard much them except that young Parisians would explore them and have raves there. Quite and amazing experience!

One of Frances hidden gems. The catacombs were one of our first tours and also one of the most memorable ones. We had a late tour and had pre bought our tickets. Good thing because at that point they were sold out for the day.

Very cool experience. Not for the claustrophobic and also you have to descend then climb 136 stairs down and then back up. Very cool historical place. The audio tour was very informative. Worth a visit. Buy your tickets in advance online.

Sainte-Chapelle

Chapel
Sights & Landmarks
Sainte-Chapelle is a 13th-century Gothic chapel in France, known for its ornate design and notable stained-glass windows depicting biblical scenes. Commissioned by King Louis IX to house his collection of Passion Relics, including the Crown of Thorns, it remains a place of spiritual and aesthetic charm. The chapel's Gothic architecture and over 600 square meters of stained glass create a sacred atmosphere that draws visitors from around the world.
I just got back from visiting the Sainte-Chapelle, and I'm still trying to process how breathtaking it was. Honestly, pictures and videos don't do this place justice—it's an experience you have to see for yourself. The first part is the Lower Chapel, which is beautiful with its vaulted ceilings and deep blues, but it's really the Upper Chapel that steals the show. As soon as you walk up the narrow stairs, you are enveloped by light. The walls are almost completely replaced by 15 enormous stained-glass windows towering 50 feet high. It feels less like a building and more like walking inside a giant jewel box. If the sun is shining, the whole room turns into a kaleidoscope of color—you can see centuries of biblical stories painted in vibrant light. It’s an incredibly moving and serene spot, and easily the single most stunning architectural sight I’ve ever seen in Paris. Do yourself a favor and make sure you go on a bright, sunny day if possible!

• A Gothic masterpiece: Built between 1242 and 1248 by King Louis IX (Saint Louis) to house precious Christian relics — including the Crown of Thorns — Sainte-Chapelle is one of the finest examples of Rayonnant Gothic architecture. • Unforgettable stained glass: The upper chapel features 15 towering stained-glass windows, each over 15 meters tall, illustrating more than 1,100 biblical scenes. When sunlight filters through, the entire space glows in a kaleidoscope of reds, blues, and purples — an experience visitors often describe as “spiritual” or “otherworldly.” • Compact yet awe-inspiring: Unlike sprawling cathedrals, Sainte-Chapelle is intimate. You don’t just see it — you feel it envelop you in color and light. • Central location: Located on the Île de la Cité, next to the Palais de Justice and a few steps from Notre-Dame, it’s easy to combine with other major Paris attractions. • Historical significance: As the private royal chapel of the French kings, it represents both religious devotion and the peak of medieval artistry. ⸻ ⚠️ Things to keep in mind • Crowds and queues: Sainte-Chapelle is small and extremely popular — lines form early, and the chapel can feel packed, especially mid-day. • Security checks: Entry is through the Palais de Justice complex, so airport-style security applies. Arrive early to avoid delays. • Limited visit time: The experience, while stunning, is short — most visitors spend about 30–45 minutes inside. • Lighting conditions vary: The stained glass looks best on sunny days (late morning to mid-afternoon). On cloudy days, colors appear softer and less vivid but still atmospheric. • Lower chapel first: The entrance leads you through the modest lower chapel before you ascend to the breathtaking upper chapel — don’t rush; the contrast enhances the reveal.

A Breathtaking Masterpiece of Light and Color! Sainte-Chapelle is one of the most stunning sites in Paris — truly a hidden jewel of Gothic architecture. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by a dazzling display of stained glass that fills the chapel with radiant light and color. Each panel tells a story from the Bible, creating a sense of awe and serenity unlike anywhere else. The upper chapel is especially mesmerizing, with its towering windows and intricate details that make you feel as if you’re standing inside a jewel box. Don’t let the long line discourage you — it’s absolutely worth the wait. Even after visiting the grand cathedrals of Europe, Sainte-Chapelle stands out as one of the most unforgettable experiences. A must-see in Paris — peaceful, spiritual, and breathtakingly beautiful!

Visiting Sainte-Chapelle was honestly one of the highlights of my trip to Paris. It’s tucked away on the Île de la Cité, inside the Palais de Justice complex, so from the outside it doesn’t look like much. But the moment you walk upstairs into the main chapel, it’s breathtaking — the entire space glows with color. The chapel was built in the 13th century by King Louis IX, who wanted a special place to keep religious relics, including what was believed to be the Crown of Thorns. Knowing that history makes the place feel even more meaningful. There are two levels inside. The lower chapel is peaceful, with painted arches and golden stars on the ceiling, but it’s the upper chapel that truly amazed me. The walls are almost entirely made of stained glass, and when the sunlight shines through, the whole room is filled with red, blue, and violet light. It’s one of those moments where you just stand still and stare — photos don’t do it justice. I went in the late morning on a sunny day, and the light was perfect. It can get a bit crowded, but the atmosphere is still very calm, almost spiritual. The visit doesn’t take long — maybe 30 to 45 minutes — but it stays with you. If you’re already visiting Notre-Dame or the Conciergerie, it’s just a short walk away and definitely worth it. Sainte-Chapelle isn’t big, but it’s unforgettable.

I would say it is the most beautiful church I have seen. Starting with a small and less light at the below church which is in vivid blue color, walkinh through a little staircase to go up. Then suddenly we are in a brilliant space, over scale of human height ceiling, and the most magnific is all the mosaic glass which tells the stories of the bibel. Small notes: - You still need to be in the queue even booking the ticket before, 30-45mins. - Sercurity check as air port - the shop gift inside will make you spend money a lot :))) as they have many nice stuffs - Enjoy all the small craving details also
Quỳnh N — Google review
Remarkable array of stained glass windows and a fascinating history. Breathtaking. This chapel is different because it’s no longer a church; it’s operated by the ministry of monuments. The employees couldn’t have been more accommodating. My friend uses a walker and they came up to us and offered to take us upstairs via an elevator. Incredibly kind, courteous staff. I’ve been to Paris multiple times but never visited here before. We went to Notre Dame a couple days ago and it felt stark and commercialized. Sainte-Chapelle offered a more spiritual experience in my opinion!

Sainte-Chapelle in Paris is a breathtaking Gothic masterpiece renowned for its stunning stained-glass windows that fill the chapel with vibrant light. Built in the 13th century, it’s a jewel of medieval architecture and artistry. The intricate details and serene atmosphere make it one of Paris’s most awe-inspiring historic sites.

Most amazing stained glass windows you’ve ever seen!! If you have mobility issues (thank goodness I don’t YET) you would be challenged to come here. There is the most winding, narrow spiral staircase but it is totally worth the climb to see how the King worshipped.

Aux Tours de Notre Dame is a charming café located in a great spot near Notre Dame. The staff here are known for their friendly and entertaining service, with waiters who go the extra mile to make customers feel welcome. The food is delicious and filling, with recommendations for the croque monsieur and hot chocolate standing out. Despite being in an expensive area, this café offers a warm and wonderful atmosphere that makes it worth visiting.
Onion soup, cheeseburger, and crêpes to die for! Brilliant atmosphere and lovely staff. I forgot my purse there and they took care of it for me; all the staff were all so happy to see me when I finally realized and walked back!

Charming Café Near Notre Dame I really liked this café near Notre Dame Cathedral. The food was simple yet delicious, with my personal favorites being the traditional French onion soup and the quiche Lorraine. A great spot for a tasty, authentic meal!

Nice little cafe directly across from Notre Dame. A lot of foot traffic and bustling around but we sat outside and was looking right at ND. Felt that was very cool. We got the cheese and escargot. You get a lot of cheese and the escargot was good.

After a visit to the Notre Dame cathedral we were looking for an afternoon coffee and a snack. Just steps away from Notre Dame we found this Salon de The. Needs met - a cup of tea, a latte, a crepe, and a cup of onion soup.

Terrible experience – rude service and discriminatory behavior We had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. Outside the venue, they operate their own ice cream cart. After purchasing ice cream , we entered the restaurant intending to sit down and order a proper lunch. However, we were abruptly told to leave by the staff. Their reason? Because we had purchased ice cream that was supposedly “take-away only,” we were not allowed to remain seated—not even to finish the ice cream—and, unbelievably, we were not even allowed to order more food. The staff’s attitude was dismissive and outright rude. Let me be clear: we were kicked out of a restaurant for buying their own ice cream and wanting to order more food. What kind of policy punishes customers for supporting your business? I understand that being located right next to Notre-Dame Cathedral means they’ll never run out of tourists, but that’s no excuse for such disrespect toward customers. One can’t help but wonder: was it because I don’t speak French? Or because of my Asian appearance? Either way, this treatment was utterly unacceptable and has left me angry and offended. If you’re looking for a welcoming dining experience in Paris, I strongly urge you to go elsewhere. This place thrives on foot traffic, not customer care—and if you don’t fit their preferred profile, don’t expect to be treated fairly.

Such a cute street side cafe!!! The cappuccino was great and when the server saw us struggling he helped us with the order.

Stopped here for an over-priced mediocre coffee, the service was fast at least but be warned everything is far too expensive. The toilets were in a terrible state which is unacceptable really given the prices. It’s a shame as this is a lovely location next to Notre Dame.

Terrible and discriminatory service – avoid this place! I had a truly awful experience at this café in Paris. I initially ordered a coffee and a sandwich to go, but later decided I wanted to sit and enjoy my food there. When I tried to order another coffee so I could sit down and eat, the staff rudely refused to let me stay. They told me I must leave, finish the sandwich outside, and only come back later if I wanted to order something else to sit down. The tone and attitude were extremely disrespectful, and I couldn’t help but feel it was racially motivated. As someone of Asian descent, I felt discriminated against in a very public and humiliating way. It was not just bad service — it was hostile and unwelcoming. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior in any establishment, especially in a city known for its hospitality and diversity. I strongly urge others — especially tourists or non-locals — to stay away from this place. There are plenty of better cafés in Paris where you’ll be treated with basic human respect.

Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, dating back to the 12th century, stands as a magnificent example of Gothic architecture along the Seine River. This iconic landmark, made famous by Victor Hugo's novel 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame,' suffered a devastating fire in April 2019. Despite this setback, efforts are underway to restore and reopen the cathedral by April 2024.
Visiting the newly reopened Notre-Dame Cathedral was a dream come true! On this sunny Monday, I joined a well-organized queue that took about 20 minutes—well worth the wait (no need to buy tickets). The staff ensured a respectful atmosphere, requiring gentlemen to remove hats, dress neatly, and maintain silence, which added to the sacred ambiance. Inside, the cathedral is nothing short of breathtaking. The restored beauty of the soaring arches, intricate stained glass, and serene orderliness left me in awe. Every detail radiates history, artistry, and spiritual grandeur. The experience was profoundly moving, evoking a deep sense of reverence and wonder. Notre-Dame is a true masterpiece, and I’m already looking forward to returning to bask in its timeless magnificence. Highly recommend this unforgettable visit to anyone!

Notre-Dame absolutely took my breath away! The cathedral is even more beautiful in person than in pictures — the details on the outside are incredible, and the stained glass inside is just magical. You can really feel the history in every corner. What’s amazing is that it’s completely free to enter the main cathedral! You can just walk in, take your time, and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s such a peaceful, awe-inspiring place right in the middle of Paris. Even though parts are still being restored, it’s 100% worth visiting. Don’t miss it — it’s one of those spots that truly captures the spirit of Paris!
Coralie P — Google review
An absolute must see when visiting Paris. If you’re able to climb up the towers, I highly recommend it. We were able to get a ticket for 6 PM and made it to the top right around 7 PM in time for sunset. It is over 400 steps of a spiral staircase, but totally worth the view. As for the cathedral highly recommend booking your tickets two days in advance so you don’t have to wait in the extremely line long line. But if you do wait in the line, it does move pretty fast. The cathedral has been restored beautifully. It was such an amazing thing to see.
I P — Google review
What a breathtaking building! It’s truly stunning, from both close up and at a distance. Whether in the day time or night-time. Although the rear is not finished with the rebuild following the fire it’s still brilliant. The detailing on the front facade is gorgeous. It’s free to enter the main cathedral but the queues are SO long that you’ll need to decide whether the time spent queuing and missing all the other amazing sites of Paris is worth it for you personally. You really have to see it in person to truly appreciate all the intricacies.

An Absolute Must-Visit - Top 3 in Paris! Visiting Notre Dame was a truly moving experience, and it's easily in our top 3 must-visit sites in Paris. The history of this building is just breathtaking. We used a tour guide, which was a great decision as they brought the cathedral to life with amazing stories about its design, architecture, and its famous association with "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame." Learning about the historical artifacts that are housed inside, like the legendary Crown of Thorns, was incredible. Seeing it standing so resiliently after the tragic fire is a powerful reminder of its importance to Paris and the world. Even with the ongoing restoration, the spirit and grandeur of this iconic cathedral are undeniable. You simply cannot miss it.
Richard L — Google review
Notre-Dame de Paris is nothing short of breathtaking. The cathedral stands as a powerful symbol of history, culture, and timeless beauty. The Gothic architecture is stunning from every angle — the intricate stone carvings, towering spires, and iconic rose windows are even more impressive in person. Walking around the cathedral, you feel the weight of centuries of craftsmanship and devotion. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere still manages to be peaceful and awe-inspiring. It’s easy to see why this place has touched so many people for so many years. The surrounding area on Île de la Cité adds to the charm, with lovely views of the Seine and plenty of quiet corners to take in the scenery. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just want a moment of reflection in the heart of Paris — Notre-Dame is absolutely worth the visit.
Violina P — Google review
Notre dame was absolutely beautiful and stunning on the outside. As a UK tourist, it looked so grand and magnificent in person like a historic piece of artwork where years of hardwork building and sculpting had gone into it. The wait outside wasn't too long and the queue was organised. However, I felt the inside of the cathedral needed a bit more work and improvement with some of the displays, it didn't seem to captivate me as much inside as the outside. Also the historic art virgin and child statue was moved outside suddenly on a pole and that concerned me with the weather outside causing more wear and tear. But overall it was a great attraction to visit.
M Y — Google review
Very cool seeing this beautiful cathedral. I recommend. Is quite crowded but go early in the morning perhaps or on weekdays and off season to get the most of your experience. Very neat. We didn't go in, just saw from outside as we felt that was enough, also huge cues.

Huge park set around a 1600s mansion, with art exhibitions year-round & cultural events in summer.
It's a nice looking castle with a large park attached to it. Visiting the park is free, but it does close it's gates around 5pm. Would definitely visit it again if I ever get the chance to do it.

This 17th-century estate combines formal French gardens with contemporary art installations. The orangerie hosts avant-garde exhibitions, while the park's "Follies" include a fake ruined tower. The canal's musical bridges play compositions when you cross them.
