Far from Bangkok you can see more amazing places than what travel agencies offer. This magnificent temple is still under construction, and its beauty is already breathtaking.
Krzysztof K — Google review
This temple is definitely worth a visit—make sure to go all the way to the top. This was my second time here, and there were fewer visitors compared to my first visit. However, it could use some cleaning. Since people walk barefoot, there’s a lot of bird droppings on the floors inside the temple.
Bloica — Google review
The exterior of this place appears to be under construction or renovation, with scaffolding in some areas and certain parts still unpainted. Inside, there are six floors, each beautifully and intricately decorated. However, due to the spacious layout, it might feel a bit empty. The top floor has quite a steep staircase, so those who aren't physically strong may find it a bit tiring. Overall, it's decent, but it would likely be even better once fully completed. For transportation, there are shuttle services that pick visitors up from the temple's arch near the parking area. As for the souvenirs sold at the parking area, the prices are a bit on the high side.
YuuSaran — Google review
Very beautiful temple with old ancient texts. A few more coins will make the light in the water more bright 😇 I like the lila paintings. For what is the colour lila?
Ratthanaphong K — Google review
The place is stunning, but it is currently still being reconditioned, so there are sections that are basically under construction / unfinished. I still recommend visiting as it is very impressive. Parking is not inside the walls ( at least not when we went ) park at the market, and then walk to just inside the gate, they have a bus from the gate to the actual temple and back. Also, I really recommend the coconut ice cream in the market for after, especially on a really hot day.
Raluca R — Google review
Wow.. I did not expect such an amazing temple from looking at the outside, but once you step through the gates you are in a different world. Google maps takes you to the old temple at the bottom of the hill, you need to keep driving another 2-3km to turn off for this temple. There is transport up the hill from near the carpark and it costs a donation. Well worth visiting...!
Dave C — Google review
A spectacular temple with amazing 360 degree views from mountain height plus the hight of the tower seeing over the tallest trees if you go to the top. It also has information about the history and influential monks whove been involved there making the experience much more interesting. Worth the trip. It's large and has many floors and the grounds are beautiful and intricate. You can spend 1.5h easily, longer if you will make merit or meditate. The entrance was not where Google maps points for me.
Michael P — Google review
Wow this is my second time here the first was 8 years ago and all I can remember was the heat lol. Today there was an overcast and very mild rain and that made all the difference. I went all the way to top and made it back down. I recommend coming during the weekday there is very little foot traffic and you can actually enjoy the whole place there is history and religious experience here a must see if in the area.

Wat Pha Namthip Thep Prasit Wanaram

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Very beautiful Buddhist Temple, that sit on a mountainside, it’s has a great views of all the surrounding area. The main temple itself has 4 levels and a roof top. Access to these level can be done by the stairs or elevator but the main roof top can only be access by stairs (these stairs can be scary).
Nuk S — Google review
The temple is huge and beautiful. The pagoda is great too with tons of parking space. Pity that i feel like the temple is lack of proper maintenances. However, it is still worth to stop by for visiting
Ricky L — Google review
For a person that enjoys unique architecture, this Buddhist temple is complex in its design and massive. Unfortunately when you walk all around the grounds and inside the 3 levels, you realize it is not completed yet. It is sad to see the structures already deteriorating from neglect ( maintenance is usually not considered in Thai buildings… allow it to fall apart, then build new😓) I couldn’t help but think of the millions and millions of dollars that could have gone towards helping the needy, sick, & improve one’s education. ) Let’s hope this wat is some day completed and maintained. 🙏 ( btw… I’d be happy to pay 100 baht entrance fee in order to have the spot lights on inside in order to admire the intricate details of the interior.)
William H — Google review
one of the gigantic temples i have ever visited. you can walk around and get photo with this temple in any corner and also there is the garden around. However, there might be some part needing maintenance support. just come and donate $$ as a merit making 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Variya M — Google review
Very beautiful temple with incredible decor inside, is located high with lovely surroundings.
Carl-Gustaf J — Google review
This is one of our favorite places to bring visitors. We also come on a very regular basis for the coconut ice cream -served in a coconut with all you can scoop sprinkles and peanuts. These shops also have coconut water - which is so very necessary in the heat of Thailand. It’s also a great place to stop for any shopping you might need to do. Lots of local wood products, skirts, musical instruments, and local t-shirts, as well. All sorts of local snacks can be found here too. Of course the chedi itself is amazing. It’s still a work in progress, but it is stunning! It is handicap friendly most of the time, but the last two times I was there the elevator was broken. My favorite part is the wall that surrounds the chedi. It’s a gorgeous walk in the morning. The view over the valley is stunning. There are also bathrooms right in the wall, so you don’t have to go far!
Maggy S — Google review

Ho Kaeo Mukdahan: City Observation Tower

Sights & Landmarks
Observation Decks & Towers
The Ho Kaeo Mukdahan is a heritage tower standing at 215-feet tall, providing visitors with breathtaking views of the area from its glass viewing deck. The ascent to the top involves roughly 250 steps until the rondel and another 50 steps until the dome. Although the elevator was out of operation, climbing up was worth it for the stunning panoramic view over Mukdahan and Laos across the river.
Beautiful place, good location. There are a lot of historical artifacts from mukdahan on several floors. The views are also fantastic. Definitely worth a visit (especially during weekday, there was no one!) Ticket price for Adult : 30 thb for Thai and 50 thb for foreigner
Pagamas R — Google review
A nice and somewhat easy to reach viewpoint in Mukdahan. Entrance fee for foreigners is 50 bath and there’s a small museum on the ground floor and second floor and the you got the viewpoint area at level 5. It’s a good place to go see and you have beautiful view at the Mekong River, Laos and Mukdahan city.
Kasper H — Google review
This tower is an old-fashioned museum, stuck in the past. It costs 50 baht to get in if you're on your own, not 30. The viewing area has binoculars, but you have to pay extra to use them, and half of them are broken. The window tinting is really bad. The staff just don't care. Honestly, the tower is more depressing than entertaining. I liked the small park outside more than the tower itself.
Ruslan S — Google review
City tower to see the city from 360 angle. The tower has been built long time ago, it may not that fancy compared to other brand-new built tower but it is the symbol of the city and it is still worth to visit. Tucket to enter 30 thb per person, free visit for elderly aged above 60 years old with proof.
Ricky L — Google review
Great Views of Mukdahan from the observation deck. Sadly the 7th floor was closed , I walked up to The main observation deck, the lift has not been working for some time as I understand, however the walk up is really easy for your average person. Interesting exhibits and information, sadly not all in English, google translate 📸 with camera , very helpful 😊 Even though it’s a bit of a tired landmark in Mukdahan in need of updating, still worth a look 😊👍
Thaiadzz — Google review
Nice view over area from top About 250 steps until rondel and more 50 steps until dome (elevator out of work by the time we were there) - some stepper training but worth the view then! Get some nice view around the Mukdahan area over the river until Laos.
Christian B — Google review
Lift was not working and the viewing area available is only until Floor number 2 . The rest of the tower is not open to public, as of writing, due to maintenance repair.
Emmy — Google review
Ok its a Mukdahan landmark and has some museum pieces inside. I picked the wrong day to go - winds gusting to 50+kph. I got to the level 6 and I could feel it swaying. I got up some of the stairs and then heard the call to go down. Ha - chicken. Yep!

Indochina Market Mukdahan

Produce market
Shopping
Flea & Street Markets
Very friendly market to get yourself a bargain. Some great little food places also.
Darren B — Google review
Not the busiest of markets and I was hoping for more goods from Laos and further afield but it seems the market is more for those coming from Laos and beyond. So Thai goods to take back home. Was a nice walk up and down. Lots of snacks and food mixed in with clothing and other household items. Found the racing long rowing boats at the north end down the stairs next to the river. Very nice.
Jamie L — Google review
The market is located along Samran Chai Khong Fang Tai Alley, running along the Mekong River. • It’s called Indochina Market because it sells products from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China etc., reflecting the trade‐and‐cultural flow in the border region. • Open daily, roughly around 8:00 AM to 5:00-6:00 PM depending on sources. ⸻ What People Say They Like 1. Authentic Local Atmosphere It’s not heavily “touristy” in style, many stalls are meant for locals too. Visitors often mention a relaxed vibe, friendly vendors, and an opportunity to see everyday life in Mukdahan. 2. Variety of Goods You can find a lot: clothing, household items, kitchen ware, silverware, local sweets, temple offering items, silk, textiles, Lao coffee & tea, souvenirs, and more. 3. Good Prices / Bargains Prices are generally affordable. Some visitors note you can negotiate, though many goods are already low priced. 4. Riverside Setting + Extras The market is right by the Mekong River; there is a promenade / riverwalk behind it which is pleasant for strolling, watching the river, views toward Laos, etc. Plus there are temples (“wats”) along the riverfront and side streets. ⸻ What People Say Could Be Better / What to Watch Out For 1. Somewhat Uneven / Disorganized Goods are sometimes piled up, the layout is chaotic in places. Narrow alleys, things spilling out onto pavements. 2. Variable Quality Some items are imported cheap goods (especially from China / Vietnam), so quality can be hit-or-miss. If you want something durable / nicer, you may need to inspect well. 3. Closed/Empty Stalls Sometimes Especially outside of peak times or during low season, some shops may be closed or under-stocked. 4. Limited Food Options (for Some Visitors) Some reviewers say that while there are food stalls and snacks, they were hoping for more local street food options or more variety. 5. Flood / Infrastructure Issues There have been reports of occasional flooding or damage from flooding that affect the area, plus construction or pavement vendors moving out onto walkways, making walking a bit harder. ⸻ Verdict Indochina Market is a solid place to visit if you: • enjoy exploring local markets, seeing local (not overly tourist-tailored) goods • are looking for inexpensive souvenirs or everyday items • like combining shopping with a riverside walk and cultural spots (temples, etc.) If you are looking for high-end goods or a market with gourmet food & many “Instagram-worthy” stylish stalls, this market might feel modest. ⸻ Tips If You Go • Go in the morning or before late afternoon for best selection and cooler weather. • Wear comfortable shoes — some paths are uneven; pavements sometimes used for stalls. • Bring cash. Many stalls may not accept cards. • Take time to walk the river promenade behind the market — good for views, photo ops, relaxing. • Be prepared to bargain, especially if buying multiple items. But also understand some prices are already low and vendor won’t always budge much.
Share S — Google review
Beautiful indochina market in Mukdahans main walking street located just along the Mekong River. Very authentic market with a lot of local goods and foods. Not the typical Thai tourist market in any way. The prices are rarely negotiable but that doesn’t matter since their fixed prices are so ever cheap on everything. The market is only open in the daytime
Kasper H — Google review
The Indochina Market is an interesting place. The market offers a great variety of products: jewellery, fruit and vegetables, clothing, kitchenware and many more. It is a nice stroll and a challenge to open negotiations. Beyond the high season it can be quiet. Shop open from 8:00 am onward, but in the early hours many shops are closed.
Ton G — Google review
I have stayed in mukdahan city for 8 days, now I would like to say is, if you want to experience the real thailand, then come here, and experience the local community and their way of daily life, these are good people to do businesse with, and to do your shopping here. Friendly & reserved people that welcome you as loyal customer, and have good patience for you when you try to communicate with them. Nice little shops that sell goods, nice sweets ( banana fried crisps took my heart ), a big multitude of option of stalls to look & buy at, and of course, the prices are gold. I implore you to atleast give it a chance, its a modest place, with a beautiful temple, good people;— to look out over the Mekong river, towards Lao.
Nitze T — Google review
Interesting day market near 2nd Thai-Laos friendship bridge
Peter D — Google review
Much like any weekend or night market in Thailand with a selection of foods, clothing, tools, etc. Always a little interesting to browse. Seems odd that the market blocks any view of the river and whatever structure was there that is now closed and blocked off.

Wat Phrathat Phanom Woramahawihan

Mentioned on

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Wat Phrathat Phanom Woramahawihan is a magnificent Buddhist pilgrimage site featuring a towering and intricately designed chedi, as well as hosting an annual festival. The complex is expansive, with numerous areas to explore, including hundreds of Buddha statues in various forms and colors. Visitors are advised to allocate several hours for the visit and obtain a map to navigate the vast grounds.
Wat Phra That Phanom Woramahawihan is truly a must-visit for anyone traveling to northeastern Thailand. This sacred temple is not only a stunning piece of architecture but also a deeply spiritual site for Buddhists. The central stupa, standing tall and majestic, is beautifully adorned with intricate details, exuding both grandeur and reverence. The atmosphere here is serene and peaceful, making it an ideal place for reflection and prayer. Locals and visitors alike come to pay their respects, and the energy of the place feels incredibly special. The temple grounds are well-maintained, with plenty of spots to take in the beauty and significance of the surroundings. Whether you’re drawn to it for its religious importance, historical significance, or architectural beauty, Wat Phra That Phanom is a truly unforgettable experience. Don’t miss this cultural gem!

Ancient stupa near the Laos border. Now it is fully restored it has nice structures. Many devotees visit this place for meditation and chanting.
Shakya — Google review
Historical site of an ancient stupa which has been restored over time. While there do also visit the informative museum within the temple grounds.
Taro T — Google review
It's a beautiful temple to visit. Visitors and locals pray inside the Chedi area.
Nik S — Google review
The iconic ancient historical pagoda looked stunning in the night. Everyone arriving would come here first and walking 3 times in clockwise direction around the pagoda to pay respects. So don't miss this site. If you've never been to the place, that means you never really visit Nakhon Phanom. By the way it's quite convenient to travel by several alternative transportation options.
Pannawish T — Google review
Ancient stupa which has been rebuilt to show its former beauty. Large Buddhist temple with much to view
Harrison H — Google review

Could have been perfect as the temple and grounds is beautiful, but ruined by pushy and noisy sales people. No longer a temple to find peace unfortunately.

Ta Con Airport Relic Museum

Mentioned on
1 list
Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Ta Con Airport Relic Museum, located at the historic Khe Sanh Combat Base, serves as a poignant reminder of the Vietnam War's tumultuous past. This site is particularly significant for American veterans who return to confront their memories and pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the infamous 77-day siege. The museum offers a reflective space where visitors can honor both sides' sacrifices amidst beautifully maintained relics that tell stories of pain and resilience.
Arriving at Khe Sanh and Tà Cơn Airport on a spring day, the cool air and soft sunlight create an unexpectedly peaceful atmosphere. Setting aside political matters, let's reflect on the brutality of war, hoping that there will be no more any bloody war on the land of Vietnam. Some of the facilities show signs of damage, and we hope the management will carry out maintenance and repairs soon. The ticket price is 50,000 VND per person.
Khang V — Google review
A humbling experience. For all sides. I got to walk alone quiet around the field. It must have been hell there. Though provoking and I believe if you have any interest you should go.
The R — Google review
I’ve been visiting the Khe Sanh Combat Base and its Ta Con airstrip museum for 17 years, often with American veterans who fought in Vietnam. This site, infamous for the 77-day siege where countless American GIs and fifteen thousand of North Vietnamese soldiers lost their lives, is more than a historical landmark—it’s a place of healing. For the veterans, it’s a chance to face their past and honor the fallen, and for me, it’s a space to reflect on the sacrifices of both sides. I often think of those who died here and hope their souls rest in peace. That said, the museum experience could be improved. The interior exhibitions lean a bit biased in their presentation, and some photo captions are inaccurate—corrections would add credibility. Accessibility is another issue; there’s no ramp for wheelchair users, limiting who can fully explore the site. The souvenir counter feels cluttered and could be reorganized to create a warmer, more welcoming vibe for visitors. On a brighter note, the surrounding area boasts some of Vietnam’s best coffee, a legacy started by Frenchman Eugène Poilane in the mid-1920s. Sipping it amid the now-peaceful coffee fields adds a unique layer to the visit. Khe Sanh remains a powerful, humbling place, but a few updates could make it even more meaningful for those who come to remember.
Hien N — Google review
Hearing a lot of stories on the battle of Khe Sanh, which was one of the longest and bloodiest battles of the Vietnam War, I decided to come and see the museum. I must admit I was not disappointed as I could learn Abu the story of the 1968 Battle of Khe Sanh and the role the base played during the war.
R. C — Google review
Again on the DMZ tour. This was an interesting place and the history around the area and why it was put here as a combat base to shut off the Ho Chi Minh trail. A few interesting relics still here such as bunkers, a Patton tank, an APC and a Huey and Chinook helicopter. The museum tells of the siege to take the area and subsequent battles. Good for the history buffs.
Robert S — Google review
Khe sanh combat base consider one of the most famous outposts base in the Vietnam war history Recommend - watch the documentary and read the information before visiting this site
PeterPhamTours — Google review
Last visit was 5 or so years ago. They dont seem to have added much but the relics there have been better maintained and spruced up. Khe Sanh was an iconic battle in a terrible war. A lot of the signage is understanably anti-American but focuses more on the pain and death the aggressors suffered in what in the end was a doomed exercise. The real highlight is the surrounding Annamitw mountains and the Ho Chi Minh Trail that winds through this massive mountain chain. Truly spectacular and unforgettable once you get it of the urban areas.
Paul R — Google review
The siege at Khe Sahn was one of the abiding memories of my childhood and I've wanted to visit for the last 50 years at least. Arriving here after a two day motorbike ride from Danang felt like making a dream into reality so that I was able to pay homage to the young Marines who fought and died here. If they'd been able to see the future and see Vietnam as it is today, would they have volunteered their lives so cheaply?

Sightseeing Tours
As my hotel wasn't able to organize a DMZ tour, I found the website of Tam's Cafe and within 5 minutes the tour for the next day was organized. Who is expecting that there are still thousands of relicts of the war is wrong. Even more important it is to have a great tour guide as Mr. Luong who gave a thousand of insights and informations about the war time and knew the places to go to. Finally, it was a great choice for a cheap price (especially compared to other tours starting from Hue) 40$ including transport via motorbike, entrance fees and 7 hours a great guide only for me.
Felix S — Google review
Coffee unfortunately closed but homestay is still open. Clean and affordable rooms. Amazing welcome by Tam, was truly happy to meet him. Dong Ha is a nice city with a very joyful vibe, not far from the DMZ. Definitely worth a stay
Alexandre R — Google review
If you can spare some time, you should definitely book a DMZ tour with Tam and insist on going with Hoa. He was a veteran at the age of 18 and bursts with first-hand experiences from the places you'll visit. Unforgettable experience!
Alexander S — Google review
The location is not exactly where it said on the map. Ask a local and they will guide you. This was a great choice. Tam’s and others speak English and have virtually everything A traveler need or wants. Cleanest hostel yet. Food and coffee spectacular.
Andrew J — Google review
Mr Tam offers great tours to the DMZ and the underground tunnels, dug out during the war to house entire villages. Mr Hoa is a great guide, willing to explain the history and to discuss the present and past of this heroic country and its people. ♥️

Tams Cafe was amazing! We had one of the nicest, freshest breakfasts we've had in Vietnam so far. The DMZ tour was captivating. The guide spoke excellent English and was kind and enthusiastic. All staff at Tams were super friendly and helpful, and collected us and dropped us at our hostels for free! We went back to the cafe for smoothies which were fresh and well valued! Definitely come here if travelling in Vietnam!!
J.M. D — Google review
We visited the DMZ area and especially the Vinh Moc tunnels. I reserved via email and the communication was excellent, immediate and transparent. Mr Hoa, our guide, was a delightful person, very knowledgeable and great in explaining everything. I wholeheartedly recommend Tan's Cafe to anyone who wishes to visit the DMZ area.
Δ. Ν — Google review
We found out about the place online and we decided to call. They organized for us an amazing tour with Mr. Hoa in the DMZ. Probably one of the best tour I had in Vietnam. Mr Hoa is very knowledgeable and he replied the thousand of questions that I had in my mind about the Vietnam war. Beautiful experience that I would suggest to everyone. May people just go to Hue and than they book a tour back from there to see the area when it is so much easier to just stop in Dang Ha and do everything from there. The Cafe by itself is quite good. The room very clean and the food good.

This travel agency has been praised for its outstanding service and professionalism, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to explore Vietnam's rich cultural heritage.
Mr. Vu is an excellent tour guide. We did a day trip from Hue to the DMZ and tunnels. Even though our background knowledge about the vietnam war was limited, he took the time to explain everything in detail and did not get tired of answering our many questions. His tablet with extra pictures was a big help, since the museums are a bit basic. His car, a Ford SUV, was in very good shape and comfy. His driving was very smooth and safe, even for European standards.

We were absolutely thrilled with the trip that Vu planned for us! We spent 5 days with him touring numerous sites where my father served while in the army. We would not have been able to access many of the places we visited without his wealth of knowledge of the area and sites related to the war. If we return to Vietnam again, we would only consider booking a tour with Vu!

The best tour guide you will ever find anywhere is called Mr Vu. What a genuine, friendly, insightful, personable, passionate and knowledgeable guide we have had the privilege to carry us through the rugged and dramatic landscape of the former DMZ. Mr Vu has perfect English but mostly perfect knowledge of every detail you could possibly want to have about the battles that took place in the area, the camps and units that resided there, and the terrible hardships the local population has had to go through. Everything on the tour is fine tuned, wherever you are Mr vu will diligently pick you up and drive you everywhere. Please use his services if you want to visit the DMZ, we were listening to other guides sometimes and they were not explaining things as well as he was. Do not hesitate to book him ! Thank you Mr Vu !

Booked this tour to the DMZ and Vinh Moc Tunnels as a gift for my partner, who’s a history buff. The drive from Da Nang was long but scenic, with a very friendly and professional driver. Mr Vu’s passion and knowledge of history made the experience unforgettable—he offered fascinating insights into the war from a Vietnamese perspective and how it shapes attitudes and culture today. Bonus: an unexpected but delicious roadside pho lunch. Excellent value and highly recommended if you want a deep dive into war and military history.

We recommend Annam Tour. Mr Vu is a fantastic guide having fluent English and deep knowledge about the DMZ and the war itself. He makes that your imagination brings you to the times of war. With Mr Vu each hill and square of the DMZ has its own history. In addition, Mr Vu shows historical photos on a tablet which is an added value. Finally, he uses a good quality car which is an advantage over other tours. For sure worth the price.

I can’t recommend Mr Vu enough, a thorough knowledge of history and place, with a clear passion for his subject. So helpful and friendly, he was very flexible in adapting the tour to what we hoped to get from it and really couldn’t be happier with the experience!

Mr Vu's knowledge in history is exceptional. Fluent English. Highly recommend for military history enthusiasts. We had a really great time. Thank you.

We had a tour with Vu to know more about the Vinh Moc tunnels. It was amazing! Plenty of information about the war and how the people managed to love by then.

Nestled in the northern region of Quang Tri, the Vinh Moc Tunnels stand as a remarkable testament to resilience during the Vietnam War. This extensive network of limestone tunnels, stretching nearly 2 kilometers and reaching depths of up to 23 meters, was ingeniously crafted by local villagers seeking refuge from relentless bombings. Unlike other tunnel systems like Cu Chi, Vinh Moc offers spacious chambers complete with wells and living quarters that showcase the ingenuity and bravery of those who sought shelter within its walls.
It was a part of our DMZ tour. Inside the tunnel has meeting room, family room, maternity ward, operation room, kitchen, storage and bathroom with ventilator. Pretty impressive. We went there in May. It was a very hot and humid day. Inside the tunnel we felt uncomfortable at the beginning with little air. But it's not claustrophobic. Sometimes the tunnel is narrow and tight. I slipped on the wet steps, but my husband caught me just in time and was unharmed. Need to crawl to avoid startling the centipedes and spiders. It was quite the experience.
Debalina G — Google review
Was a great place to see what it was like for the Vietnamese resistance against the Americans and south Vietnam. The lady that talked to us knew a lot but it sounded like it was off a script (fair enough since English isn’t here first language). The walk through the tunnel was small but really showed us just how they had to live to survive (if you are tall you actually might not fit unless you crawl). The only downside which could have just been our group but we just straight walked through the tunnel and didn’t learn much about like how they lived or what it felt like maybe it was just hard when it’s so small, in that case if it was just our group the tunnels are a great way to learn and understand another side of the Vietnam war instead of just the Americans.
Christian B — Google review
This Vietnam historic tunnel system is not anything like Cu Chi tunnel, and absolutely worths the visit. It speaks the voices of Vietnamese heroic ancestors who gave up their "today" so that we, their descendants, can wake up "tomorrow". Forever be grateful to the war invalids and martyrs ♥️

Came as part of the DMZ tour from Hue. Very interesting to hear all the history of the tunnels. An amazing place dug out in 18 months and used as home for around 300 people from the village during the war. Incredible how they managed to live for such a long time in these spaces with limited time to get out to enjoy fresh air. Bomb craters still litter the area so you get an impression of how heavily the area was targeted. If you don't do the whole tour it's definitely worth making time to visit here anyway. Very interesting.
Robert S — Google review
Thoroughly worth the trip. Fascinating exploration of the cave system. We just turned up, purchased entry tickets, and asked for a guide. There is a 30min video presentation you can watch beforehand which explains the story of the tunnels. Our guide was a 3rd generation villager whose parents were born in the tunnels. She gave us a very emotional account of her parents plight in the tunnels. We arrived around 1pm and spent about 3hrs for the whole visit. Be prepared to walk down steep steps in narrow tunnels up to 30m underground. There are no handrails so reasonable mobility and fitness is required.
Mark M — Google review
If you are traveling through Vietnam, or at least passing by through here from north to south it HAS to be one of your stops! It’s my third time in Vietnam but the very first in the tunnels and the only thing I regret is not coming here earlier. It was an enlightening experience getting to know more about the history and being able to see where it happened. Vietnam proves once again why they are such a strong, resilient and beautiful country.
Gabriela — Google review
DMZ tunnels North Vietnam. Very impressive to see what the build to survive, because these tunnels were only meant to keep civilians save during the bombing. There were 3 levels from 10, 15 and 23 meters deep. The second level was for utilising 200 up to 1000 people (worst case) having familie rooms, a baby room (17 kids were born underground, 16 still living) and an operating/medical room. The 3rd level (23 meters) was only for storing food and weapons to defend, because the humidity was too high to live there. Longest stay of people inside was only five days during bombardments.
Roger H — Google review
This place is cool! Worth the visit especially if the tour include other turístic spots. Don't come only for the Tunnels, buy a package that include many places in the area.

Thien Mu Pagoda, a renowned 7-story Buddhist temple constructed in 1601, is a prominent landmark in Hue city. Nestled along the Perfume River and surrounded by landscaped grounds, this ancient pagoda holds great spiritual significance and boasts an impressive architectural design. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich historical narratives and explore the various structures within the pagoda.
Beautiful pagoda right by the perfume river. Visited one late afternoon in August and it was very busy with tourists on tours. But the grounds are very peaceful if you keep walking back. Some monks were even playing badminton with public.
Alex M — Google review
A beautiful and unique place, the pagoda sits on a hill, peaceful and serene, right next to the picturesque Perfume River. There are tasty local foods and great seating spots by the river. Nearby you can enjoy kayaking, swimming in the river, and listening to the famous Hue folk songs. Inside the pagoda, many relics and valuable information about the Nguyen Dynasty (Vietnam’s last feudal dynasty) are preserved. The pagoda also houses a great bell recognized as a national treasure.
Hoangminh N — Google review
A small complex comprised of the pagoda and a temple above stone steps. The pagoda faces the perfume river, which used to be perfumed by flowers flowing down from the vicinity. The pagoda is not open for entry, but you can still admire the piece of preserved history. The temple in the back is open for visitors, but please show respect and follow the rules in terms of clothing and decorum.
Czarina V — Google review
We visited Thiên Mụ Pagoda as part of our shore excursion from the cruise ship, and it ended up being one of the nicest stops on the tour. The pagoda sits on a hill overlooking the Perfume River, and the views alone make the visit worthwhile. The grounds are peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to walk around and take photos. The architecture is elegant and iconic, especially the seven-story tower at the entrance. Inside the complex, the gardens, pathways, and temple buildings create a calm and serene atmosphere that feels less crowded than other major attractions. Our guide shared the history and significance of the pagoda, which added depth to the experience. Even without a guide, the cultural and spiritual presence of the site comes through clearly. Overall, Thiên Mụ Pagoda is a beautiful and relaxing place to visit in Huế. It is easy to explore, offers great river views, and is an excellent stop on any cruise tour or day trip.
Travis K — Google review
Lovely pagoda overlooking the river. Very nice and tranquil and free to walk in/around. The grounds are much larger than it looks and in the back is a courtyard full of large bonsais. In the very back is a miniature pagoda with its own courtyard
Mimi L — Google review
A quaint tourist spot. It is serene, sleepy and yet charming. This spot is especially enticing when there are not a lot of tourists around and you are left on your own. The history of this spot is already covered on other sites, so I am not going over it.
Dat L — Google review
the pagoda was built during Nguyen Dynasty in the early 17th century, regarded as the most well-known pagoda in Hue. The traditional architecture style looks simple but solemn and peaceful. A bit noisy with many tourists in the morning, will be more quiet in the late afternoon or sunset time.
Han N — Google review
Thien Mu Pagoda isn’t just a landmark in Hue — it’s the iconic pagoda that feels like a serene gateway back in time. Perched on a hill overlooking the Perfume River, it’s a place where history, spirituality, and stunning architecture all come together. The star of the show is, of course, the seven-story pagoda itself. Standing tall and proud, it looks like a guardian watching over the city. As you walk through the entrance with its fierce guardian statues, you can’t help but feel a little humbled — and maybe slightly judged for all your past sins (don’t worry, they seem forgiving). Inside the grounds, there’s so much to see: intricate statues, the ancient bell that’s as impressive as it is photogenic, and peaceful gardens perfect for a reflective stroll. The atmosphere is calm, even with visitors around, and it’s easy to imagine what life must have been like centuries ago when this was a bustling center of worship. Pro tip: Wear comfortable shoes — the steps are historic (translation: uneven), and take a moment to just sit quietly and enjoy the breeze by the river. It’s also a fantastic spot for photography, so bring your camera or phone fully charged. Overall, Thien Mu Pagoda is a must-visit while in Hue. Whether you’re there for the history, the architecture, or just a bit of soul-soothing calm, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve gained a little perspective… and probably a lot of great photos. 📸

The Mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang is part of a serene lakeside temple complex that also includes the tombs of other 19th-century emperors. Each tomb reflects the personality and taste of its respective emperor, with statues and monuments arranged to form natural poetry. The mausoleum itself features traditional Eastern architecture inspired by Confucianism and is located at the confluence of Ta Trach and Huu Trac rivers into the Huong River.
A Serene and Majestic Heritage Landmark The Minh Mạng Tomb stands as a remarkable tribute to the splendor of the Nguyễn Dynasty. Nestled among verdant landscapes and tranquil lakes, it provides a serene escape from the pace of contemporary life. The architecture is both impressive and elegantly balanced, featuring intricately designed pavilions, temples, and bridges that harmonize with the natural setting. Impeccably preserved, the site invites visitors to enjoy peaceful walks along its scenic pathways. Rich in historical significance and visual beauty, it’s an essential stop for anyone exploring Huế. The courteous and well-informed staff further enrich the experience with valuable insights. A must-see for those with a passion for Vietnamese history and culture.

Peaceful and Majestic The Tomb of Minh Mạng is one of the most impressive royal tombs in Huế. The architecture is stunning — perfectly symmetrical, with beautiful pavilions, lotus ponds, and quiet paths surrounded by nature. It feels peaceful and grand at the same time. A great place to learn about history and enjoy a calm, scenic walk. Definitely worth including on your Huế itinerary!
Arabelle B — Google review
This mausoleum is very spacious, with beautiful gardens, lakes, and traditional architecture. It feels more peaceful compared to some of the other tombs, and walking around gives you a good sense of history and nature combined. I visited on a day with pleasant weather and only light, short rain, which made the experience enjoyable and refreshing. The site is quite large, so be prepared to walk a bit, but the scenery is worth it. I used a combo ticket that included several sites in Hue, which made the visit good value. Overall, it’s a nice balance of culture, history, and nature – definitely worth including in your trip to Hue.
Mr R — Google review
Absolutely beautiful and breath-taking. Every area was like stepping back into history. I paid for the audio tour guide but I don't think it was very worth it cuz it just had some description of the place, not much about the usage or purpose of that area. It was raining a bit so there was no other visitors there, soooo nice.
Lachasso N — Google review
Unfortunately, our visit here was a real disappointment. It’s not hard to imagine (but we could only imagine) how this might be a lovely place to visit but within a five minute walk from the entrance all else was blocked from further view as all paths leading deeper in to the mausoleum’s premises were blocked by construction, and even near the entrance, little effort seemed to have been made to preserve what should be the serenity and beauty of the place. We strongly feel that this mausoleum should be closed to the public until construction and dredging are complete, or that the entrance fee should either be waived or drastically reduced.
Reginald W — Google review
A stunning and peaceful site, beautifully set among lakes, gardens, and pine trees. The symmetry of the layout is impressive, and every gate, bridge, and pavilion feels perfectly placed. Built in 1843, the tomb reflects Emperor Minh Mang’s vision of harmony between architecture and nature. It’s a relaxing place to walk around, with plenty of shade and photo spots. Definitely one of Hue’s most scenic imperial tombs and well worth visiting.
I. M — Google review
Rented a bike and drive here. Near a beautiful lake and surrounded by water. It makes for a nice walk around. We came mid afternoon on a super hot day so needed to grab some drinks at the entrance and again on the exit. There is toilets and drinks and some food options here. We came on a week day. You pay to park a scooter but they don’t seem to charge locals but price is small. Not as big as we were led to believe but worth visiting.

A Tranquil and Majestic Historical Site

The Minh Mạng Tomb is a magnificent testament to the grandeur of the Nguyễn Dynasty. Set amidst lush greenery and serene lakes, the tomb offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The architecture is both grand and harmonious, with beautifully crafted pavilions, temples, and bridges that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The site is meticulously maintained, and the pathways are perfect for a leisurely stroll. The historical significance of the tomb, combined with its stunning beauty, makes it a must-visit destination in Huế. The staff are courteous and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience with their insights. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Vietnamese history and culture.

The Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc is a stunning tomb and temple complex that pays tribute to the 19th-century ruler in a picturesque setting with a lily pond. Situated near the center of Hue city, this mausoleum is renowned for its harmonious structure and elegant architecture, standing out as one of the most beautiful mausoleums from the Nguyen Dynasty.
This was by far my favorite mausoleum in Hue. It is set within stunning gardens filled with tall pine trees, peaceful ponds, and traditional Vietnamese architecture. It’s a beautifully laid-out complex with lots of open space to walk around, relax, and take in the views. The area is well maintained and shows great care in its restoration efforts. Everything from the stone paths to the wooden pavilions feels thoughtfully preserved. The large lake in the center reflects the buildings and trees beautifully, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. We spent about 45 minutes here, but you could easily stay longer if you enjoy photography or just want to soak up the peaceful surroundings. It wasn’t too crowded when we went, which made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this one if you’re visiting Hue—especially if you’re only picking one or two mausoleums to explore. Stunning beyond my wildest expectations. I could have spent hours there other than for the heat. Without question the visit here has been my highlight of the whole trip to Hue. Early, early morning or very late afternoon most highly recommended.

This isn't the most popular of the tombs, but it's the most interesting. There's a large park here, where you can stroll in the shade or sit by the lake. Plus, it's close to the city, so it's easy to just wander around in the pleasant atmosphere.

The resting place of Tu Duc King, the longest-reigning emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. This mausoleum is one of the four most beautiful mausoleums in Hue, famed for its poetic and elegant architecture. This enormous construction has 2 main parts: palace and tomb. Take time too walk around and explore this place!
Han N — Google review
Personally I preferred this over the other royal tombs in the area. The site was much larger than I thought it would be, and was lovely to walk around. The grounds were serine and very well kept. Not many information plaques that I could find so maybe an audioguide would be good. Lots of trees so plenty of opportunity to stay in the shade on sunny days.

The Tomb of Tu Duc is a truly serene and beautiful place. It's not just a tomb, but a huge complex of pavilions, temples, and lakes, all set within a peaceful, pine-covered valley. The architecture is stunning, reflecting the emperor's poetic and romantic nature. You can easily spend an hour or two here, walking around the grounds and enjoying the tranquility. It's a must-visit if you're in Huế!

Tranquil sight to visit away from buzzing center of Hue. Sufficient information given at the sight. Worth the combo-ticket. Back in time to a world so near and yet so far.

A spacious mausoleum with lakes, pavilions, and tree-lined paths. Its style is more classic and modest compared to others, but it offers beautiful corners to walk around. We expected it to be quieter, but there were quite a few people when we visited. Still, it’s worth seeing for its historical value and peaceful setting.

The Hue Historic Citadel, also known as the Imperial City of Hue, is a significant attraction in Vietnam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It served as the royal palace for the Nguyen Dynasty for 140 years. The walled fortress spans 10 kilometers with impressive fortifications and features like the Imperial Enclosure and Forbidden Purple City. Visitors can explore attractions such as the ceremonial Thai Hoa Palace and Ngo Mon Gate within this historical complex.
The Imperial City (Hoàng thành), located inside the walled city of Huế, was the former royal capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen dynasty This is recognized by UNESCO as the world cultural heritage for over 30 years. I have experience many vicissitudes of history of Vietnam over centuries from many dynasties until Vietnam became a republic. The imperial city is still a long lasting and remain one of the most cherished values. Visitors will be able to learn about the 13 Nguyen dynasty kings who ruled Vietnam from 18th century to 1945. The many palace buildings that spread across the big compound was nice and grand and somehow you will feel that history has come alive from walking around. Note that the traveller could be spending half a day for walking tour.

Was really nice to be able to walk the walls of the citadel and the information panels along the way added all the relevant info. Hue Imperial City was built in 1804 under King Gia Long and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. I love walking around the ancient palace and admire the beauty at every corner. Hundred years ago, it used to a enormous and glorious palace. Sadly, many constructions are damaged, though they are being restored, could not bring back the original spirit of the place. The atmosphere was quite sad in a rainy day.
Han N — Google review
Come to the palace for a photo op, especially in traditional costumes. It's not a particularly interesting place for a casual tour, but it's beautiful in its details. If you're visiting on a sunny day, be sure to bring an umbrella, as there's very little shade.

Overall, it was a solid experience, though I expected a bit more. The complex is huge, but the overall layout could be better organized. I didn’t take the audio guide because I don’t like using headphones — probably a mistake. The descriptions of the monuments were quite minimal and not very engaging. I also chose a bad day to visit since it was extremely hot.

Khai Dinh Tomb, located near Hue City on Chau Chu Mountain, was built for Emperor Khai Dinh of the Nguyen dynasty who passed away in 1925. Despite being unpopular due to his pro-French stance and language reforms, the mausoleum is a grand structure blending Eastern and Western architectural styles. It features dragon sculptures, an imperial court with statues, a lavishly furnished palace room, and a modest temple housing the emperor's grave.
This was the first of the two tombs I visited—and it makes a striking impression. The climb up a long flight of stairs is definitely a bit of a workout, but the reward at the top is worth it. The exterior looks dark and commanding, and once inside, the level of detail in the decoration is stunning. The interiors are incredibly ornate, with intricate mosaics, vibrant tiles, and elaborate dragon motifs covering nearly every surface. It’s visually overwhelming in the best way—feels more like a palace shrine than a mausoleum. The contrast between the somber exterior and colorful interior really stood out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Huế. Tuesday 7 am–5:30 pm Wednesday. 7 am–5:30 pm Thursday 7 am–5:30 pm Friday 7 am–5:30 pm Saturday 7 am–5:30 pm Sunday 7 am–5:30 pm Monday 7 am–5:30 pm

An absolutely stunning and unique imperial tomb. The mix of Vietnamese and French architectural styles is unlike anything else in Hue, with dark stone exteriors leading to an explosion of colour inside. The interior is covered in intricate glass and porcelain mosaics, and the level of craftsmanship is incredible. The climb up the steps is worth it for the detail and atmosphere. A must-see if you’re exploring Hue’s imperial history.

However, it is quite crowded with many tourists, and the area is not very large, so the visit can feel a bit short compared to other tombs in Hue. I visited using a combo ticket that included several sites, which made it better value for money. Overall, it’s an interesting place to see, especially if you enjoy history and architecture, but don’t expect a quiet experience.

What an incredible visit to the Tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh! I traveled here with a group, and we were all truly impressed. The tomb itself is a masterpiece, blending Eastern and Western architecture in a way I've never seen before. The details are stunning—from the grand dragon staircase (as seen in our photos!) to the intricate mosaics inside. Beyond the amazing structure, the atmosphere is very special, and the views of the surrounding hills and nature are just beautiful. It was a memorable and wonderful experience for our entire group. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Vietnam!

Nice to walk around. Inside the building is beautiful and well worth a visit. Also a beautiful view of the mountain. Just be warned there are 127 steps to the top! The statues were also very cool to see. Easy to get a taxi there and back from the centre of town. 150k entry per adult, worth getting the combo ticket at the citadel if you are visiting multiple tombs. Very busy at 3pm!

Really lovely palace. There aren't many information plaques so maybe the audioguide would be better for those wanting to know the history of the place. It's not very big and will only take 30-45 minutes (without an audioguide). There isn't too much shade so make sure to bring a hat on sunny days.

The mausoleum was pretty impressive with fantastically detailed decoration. A slightly over-long video with English subtitles gives useful background on this and other notable historic complexes in the area, so worth a watch if your eyes don't glaze over or your brain melts with the plethora of phonetically challenging characters. Seen on a very wet day.

Impressive tomb, impressive story! Definitely worthwhile to climb the stairs; architecture, though partly decaying, as not seen before in Vietnam. Tip: read up on the tomb before you get there.

Mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh

Hue, a city with a rich history and royal heritage, offers visitors an array of attractions to explore. One of the highlights is the Perfume River, which flows through the heart of the city. Spanning approximately 80 kilometers, this river derives its name from the fragrant flowers that fall into it from upstream orchards.
Peaceful place and the boat ride is so calm and memorable. You can even steer the boat for an experience to remember. The place is so serene and wonderful

If you're taking a Grab, it seems like the drop-off point is set too far. So you can just stop near the new bridge, which will open on March 26, 2025. On the map, Grab directs you all the way to the end, which is a very quiet area with only two or three tofu stalls, where vendors aggressively offer you tofu. A bowl of tofu is only 10k VND, and it's actually quite good—just like a typical local experience. So you should give it a try!

The Perfume River runs gracefully through Hue, adding charm to the city with its calm flow and romantic scenery. A boat ride at sunset is unforgettable, with the golden light reflecting on the water. I enjoyed every moment and will highly recommend my friends to experience this magical river.

Great River and site to visit in Hue. We took a night boat to listen to the palace music show. It was great and price is not expensive. Highly recommend!

It’s really nice for a journey along the water. The people selling boat rides WILL rip you off. A 200k ride for an hour quickly became 200k per person. Then our 1 hour ride was over in 15 minutes. Look it’s not expensive, I just didn’t appreciate being ripped off.

A peaceful place to admire the amazing skyline of Hue. It is ideal for a stroll along the riverbank and the park nearby. It was pity that we couldn't enjoy Hue folk song performances due to bad weather.

An amazing river at Hue This is the best nice river flow through the a city in Viet Nam. Its name "Sông Hương" meaning Perfume river. Once upon a time, the Nguyen empire choose this city because the river and the sight so harmony with nature. If you come to Hue. Take a dragon boat cruise along the river. Visit Thien Mu pagoda and tomb of the king. The boats and the river gives you an insight into the fisher families and Hue culture. Have a nice trip.

The Mercure French Village is a beautiful hotel and a lovely place to stay. We really appreciated having direct access to the park, and our room was modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and always helpful, which made the stay even better. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of foods. The only downside for me was the smell of cigarette smoke in the bedroom but overall we truly enjoyed our stay.

I had a wonderful trip here with my family. However, there were a few issues regarding our room. Fortunately, a very helpful staff member assisted us. Her name is SUNI. She enthusiastically advised me on the room options, pricing, and the services available, which made my trip much smoother. Due to the unexpected nature of my work, I had to leave the hotel before I could thank her in person. Please help convey my gratitude to Ms. SUNI. Thank you to everyone for making my vacation even more wonderful. See you!

I came back here after a year, this time with my family on my birthday. The weather in November up here is quite harsh in my opinion =))) so my experience wasn’t exactly perfect. The food didn’t suit my taste, the room was noisy because of the neighbors, and the interior and architecture seem to have deteriorated. These issues were already present the first time I visited in May 2024, but they still haven’t been improved. Perhaps the only thing that really impressed me was the customer service. A family member of mine had dinner here and ended up with food poisoning. Fortunately, a staff member named SUNI and the medical team quickly came to help and were extremely attentive. Luckily, my family member is okay now. I hope that next time I come, the hotel will still be operating and will have renovated the rooms so the trip can be more enjoyable. You should visit here in spring or summer for a better experience, as winter can be quite rough

Outstanding. I travelled with 2 elderlies, one not too mobile. They had wheelchairs waiting for us and helping us with luggage. If we had any concerns, they fixed it straight away. They communicated really well. I read all sorts of reviews re confusing check in ..as soon as u get there, look for a mercure staff in uniform and they would take care of you I read that the rooms had thin walls...true but probably as the neighbours were walking past but never lasting more than 1 min Breakfast..good selection and farah was so kind to my mum as she was patient with howshe wanted her coffee Dinner buffet...good price and quality..even juice and water were inc Maison du roi..great food To finish it, we forgot a handbag in the room and contacted them while we were on the cable car....they r bringing it down as I am writing the review. What can I say...memorable and super pleasant stay. Looks chaotic but they somehow have it worked out really well. Thank u mercure staff We would be back soon with friends and the rest of the family

First time staying at Mercure French Village. I love the design of the hotel; it makes me feel like I am in the middle of a French city. I really appreciate the excellent service from Lucia. She added me on WhatsApp and promptly replied to all of my requests. During our trip to Ba Na Hills, there were many things I didn’t understand, and she assisted me by answering all my questions. I am truly grateful to her. We also had the chance to have dinner at L’ETable! The food was amazing, and the service from Mira was exceptional. She took great care of us during dinner at L’ETable and also during breakfast. We were really happy with her service. **Things to Improve:** This time, our room had a cleanliness issue, which I hope the hotel can improve. **Tips for Travelers:** If you book a stay at Hotel Mercure French Village, there is a dedicated area for you to drop off your car and check in. They can sell you discounted cable car and Ba Na Hills tickets, so you won’t have to queue with other travelers. There is a specific cable car reserved just for hotel guests. Also, the next day, from 06:00–06:05 am, 06:30–06:35 am, and 07:00–07:05 am, the hotel offers an early cable car service to the Golden Bridge exclusively for hotel guests. This allows you to escape the crowds and take photos in peace.

Laguna is a stunning golf course. I would recommend any golf enthusiast to try it out. I am my friends were blown away by the landscape. The course isn't the toughest, and the caddies were helpful. The food was generally good at the clubhouse, too. My only gripe was about some of the policies and other customers. I didn't feel the need to deduct a star, but it needed to be noted. There is a policy of no driving the golf cart on the fairway. However, a team of locals behind us were allowed to. We were told one of them had an injury, but then why was he on the course? Also, another group we ran across were quite impolite an uncivilised. Not exactly the course's problem, but it did give some wrong impression
James B — Google review
Spectacular in every way. Awesome hold course. Great layout. Greens could have been better but they have just been sanded. I highly recommend.
Patrick O — Google review
Couple of things that really wet a bad tone here... 1. Driving range charge for balls .. at a place like this that is ridiculous. 2. Caddie made me wait until exactly my tee time although I was a 1 ball and teeing off first at 6am 3. Water is charged at $7 usd a bottle... 4. Course condition is horrific, ground staff everywhere blowing non existent leaves whilst the greens die from compaction. The head greenskeeper should be fired immediately. The course layout is great but the condition combined with the cost makes it a hard no from me. I will not be back.
Mike H — Google review
In the condition we played on it’s a 1 star. T box to fairway 8/10 condition, around the greens 4/10 and putting greens1/10. Course should be more forthcoming about the greens rather than hiding behind fancy promo names why there are specials. Very disappointed as we spent over an hour driving each way to course after flying to Danang . Yes, discounted but if we had known how bad the greens are we would not have played here.
Laura T — Google review
80 mins drive from Danang and gota cross 2 mountains before to reach this course. Nice course layout and terrain. But green very bad condition. Also very slow play and every shot waited for 5 to 10 mins ... 6 over hours to complete 18 holes. Marshals should look at the pace of play. Course layout and terrain 4.5/5 The green and pace of play were bad and therefore I am giving a 3 stars
Adeline N — Google review
I and the most wonderful tome yesterday at this great course. I first saw a picture of the 9th hole in a magazine years ago and that made me always want to go. It lived up to my expectations and more. The service is outstanding and the owners should be very proud of all of the staff, from the greeters, to the girls in the shop, the people in the bar and restaurant and the people in the locker room. The groundstaff working hard were all friendly along with the caddies and course Marshall.. the staff here are ALL Outstanding and wonderful. The course itself is either my favourite or 2nd favourite in Vietnam, its very close. The design is fantastic, even hole is different. I absolutely loved it.

My Son is a captivating historical site located in the serene Duy Phu Commune of Quang Nam Province, approximately 69 km southwest of Danang. This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases the remnants of Hindu temples built between the 4th and 14th centuries, characterized by stunning red brick structures adorned with intricate carvings. Once an imperial city during the Cham dynasty, My Son served as a significant cultural and religious hub for this ancient civilization.
Highly recommend adding this to your Vietnam itinerary! The site is beautiful and has so much history. You are able to walk around and go inside many of the buildings. There are three sites to visit and there is a pavilion which has a show a couple times a day. There is also a small restaurant on the property.

We visited very early today (~7AM) and we were the first guests to enter the area which was very nice. Overall we had a nice morning there and the temples, altars and other Chamba buildings were very interesting. Can highly recommend to do the tour with a guide.

Nice historic site made of ancient ruined Hindu temples easily accessible from Danang and Hoi An. We visited in low rainy season and were the only visitors on site which was quite spectacular in many ways ! If you feel like walking a bit, it is only a 2-km walk from the entrance to the site and quite a lovely journey. There is a 15-minute traditional show at the end of the tour to close the visit. First show of the day this time of year was at 9:45am. Therefore all tourist buses and groups are not aiming to arrive on site before 8:30-9:00. I did not feel it was so impressive but definitely a nice and interesting visit.

A great little morning trip out of Hoi An. Very interesting site in a really lovely location. Come with a guide and you’ll learn a lot. We did an early morning guided tour from Hoi An, arriving at My Son at 6.30am and it was perfect time, so quiet and you got to have a really open and comfortable experience.

Visiting My Son was an unforgettable experience! The site is incredibly atmospheric, surrounded by lush greenery, and the ancient temples and ruins are absolutely fascinating. Walking through the area really gives you a sense of the history and culture of the Champa Kingdom. We were amazed by the architecture and the peacefulness of the site. It’s less crowded than other tourist spots, which makes it even more special to explore at your own pace. A visit to My Son is a must for anyone traveling to Vietnam, both for history lovers and anyone who enjoys beautiful, serene landscapes.
Mathilde B — Google review
Mesmerizing historical site, featuring ancient Cham temples set amidst lush, green landscapes. The intricate stone carvings and ruins reflect a rich cultural heritage and impressive architectural skill. Walking through the sanctuary feels like stepping back in time. Guided tours enhance understanding, though it can get hot, so bring water and sun protection. A must-visit for history enthusiasts and culture lovers exploring Vietnam.
LEVI S — Google review
Beautiful place, although brickwork looks slightly dated and in need of some maintenance. All jokes aside, this Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is an incredible UNESCO world heritage site that is definitely worth it if you are in the region. There is so much to see when walking amongst these ruins that would have been a prominent religious place in their day. The carvings, sculptures, and feeling of walking up stairs and through chambers that people worshipped in centuries ago is a timeless reminder of our human spirit. Logistically, We rode a scooter there from Hoi An, sweated through our clothes in the heat, then had coconut coffees. Magical.

This is fairly quiet beach when we visited today at 11am. Barely six people were swimming here despite a massive beach. Lots of fresh seafood restaurants line the beach. Unfortunately there are some uncared for trash that line the beach but if you ignore that, the water is very pleasant to swim in.

Lăng Cô Bay, situated between Da Nang and Huế, is one of Vietnam’s most scenic coastal treasures. With its sweeping crescent of white sand, calm turquoise waters, and lush mountains rising in the background, the bay offers a landscape of remarkable harmony and serenity. Its unspoiled charm and peaceful atmosphere make it an ideal retreat for travelers looking to slow down and connect with nature. For photographers, Lăng Cô Bay provides endless inspiration. From the Hải Vân Pass, the bay unfolds in stunning panoramic views that capture the meeting point of sea, sky, and mountains. On the shoreline, traditional fishing boats, stilt houses, and local life add cultural depth to wide-angle landscapes and storytelling shots. Early mornings and late afternoons offer the most atmospheric light, perfect for capturing the bay in soft golden tones. Beyond its beauty, Lăng Cô is also famous for its fresh seafood, served in local restaurants that overlook the water. This adds a culinary dimension to the experience and creates additional opportunities for cultural photography. Calm, authentic, and photogenic, Lăng Cô Bay is more than just a stop between two cities—it is a destination in its own right, where Vietnam’s central coast reveals its most tranquil side.

This museum offers a breathtaking glimpse into Champa culture, featuring over 400 artifacts on display. Each piece tells a story, showcasing the artistry and heritage of this fascinating civilization. While the museum is definitely worth a visit, it lacks air conditioning, relying instead on a few fans for ventilation, which can make it warm during hotter months. I recommend visiting around 3:30 PM when the temperature is more manageable. Overall, the museum provides a rich and educational experience that is not to be missed for anyone interested in Champa history.

the Champa Sculpture Museum is a gem for anyone curious about Central Vietnam’s history and art. The museum itself is beautiful—creamy-yellow colonial buildings, leafy courtyards with frangipani, and calm galleries that feel like a sanctuary from the city buzz. Inside, the collection is outstanding. You’ll see exquisitely carved sandstone sculptures from ancient Champa sites like Mỹ Sơn, Trà Kiệu, Đồng Dương, and Tháp Mẫm. Highlights include graceful apsaras and dancers, majestic images of Shiva and Ganesha, delicate lintels and pedestals, and the symbolic linga–yoni altars. The carvings are full of movement and detail—flowing jewelry, expressive faces, and swirling floral motifs—and the lighting does a great job of revealing their texture. I appreciated how the galleries are laid out by region/period, which makes the story of Cham culture easy to follow. Labels are clear (with English and Vietnamese), and many rooms have maps or context about trade routes, religion, and daily life. Staff are polite and helpful, and the vibe is peaceful—perfect for slowing down and really looking. The little garden courtyards, with statues set among trees, are lovely spots to pause for photos.

Visitors can enjoy refreshing drinks and delicious snacks from nearby vendors while soaking up the sun.
I always went swimming during the hot days. The water here is shallow. There's no area where your feet touch the water, so there's no danger. The sand is like flour. It's so soft that you can hear a crunching sound. It's hard to shake it off. ^^ I went swimming at 7 p.m. There's no one there, and it feels like a swimming pool. My Vietnamese friend said he's going to Hoi An. He said it's quiet and different from the beach here. I picked up some trash. There's a lot of marine debris here too, but less than Vung Tau. You can't experience the deep waters of Nha Trang in February. The safe waters, comfortable sand, and subtropical sky make for a beautiful view.

Really beautiful and peaceful beach. It’s clean, quiet, and not crowded even in the morning. The sand is soft and the water is clear, with barely any trash around which is nice to see. I went for a walk here around sunrise and it was super calming — just the sound of waves and a few locals jogging or swimming. Definitely one of the nicer beaches I’ve been to in Vietnam. Perfect spot to relax and unwind.

It's a beach with a really extensive stretch of sand and a well-structured, urbanized boardwalk, which is great for walking. Access is completely free. Despite its fame, I had mixed feelings, as the water wasn't very clean. An important point is that, for safety reasons, the lifeguards restrict the swimming area to a specific space. This causes all the swimmers to get quite crowded, but it is a necessary measure. It's beautiful to see, but these details detracted from the swimming experience.

Beautiful, clean, and relaxing beach. Soft sand, wide shoreline, and great for long walks. Even with waves, it feels safe and well-maintained. Perfect for sunrise and photos. One of the best beaches in Da Nang — highly recommend!

Danang is home to the stunning My Khe Beach, considered one of the most natural beaches. My Khe is a popular destination among tourists to relax, have fun, and enjoy the seabreeze. Locals flocks to the area as well for their daily exercises and outdoor activities. The beach is known for its long stretch of fine white sands and the picturesque boardwalk. The gentle waves is great for swimming and relaxing. You can chill at a lounger chair while sipping on your favorite drinks.

A very peaceful beach in Da Nang. It's a long train of beaches where one can have a soothing walk and shacks to enjoy the sunshine. Good for surfing as well.

Popular, loud & busy if that’s what you like. My teens loved it. Stayed at a hotel along this strip and the traffic was bumper to bumper & noisy, with loud music until late at night. I love the serenity of AnBang beach instead, even though that can be busy at times, you haven’t got the extra loudness.

The beach is lovely even if the weather is not great at the moment. Its a very nice place for a walk and plenty of choices for refreshment

The Marble Mountains

The Marble Mountains, located in Ngu Hanh Son near Da Nang, are a stunning network of five marble hills that offer a unique blend of natural beauty and rich history. Visitors can explore numerous caves and intricate temples while enjoying breathtaking views from various lookout points. The mountains present an accessible adventure; while climbing to the summit can be challenging, there’s also an elevator for those who prefer a more leisurely ascent.
I did enjoyed it. Easy to spend 1h there. Loved the caves, obviously the mains one, but also tiny Van Thong cave (if you up for tiny places and a bit of scrambling - this is good place). Entrance to mountain 40k, if you want a lift thats 15k more - there is no many stairs to climb at gate 2 up and then anyway plenty of steps. If you entering at gate 1- thats definitely much more steps up. Am phu cave definitely worth visiting, but it extra 20k

Visiting these mounzains was such an amazing experience! From the moment you step inside, you can feel how ancient and powerful this place is. The formations are absolutely stunning, and the caves themselves are enormous, much larger than I expected. Walking through them feels like exploring another world hidden beneath the surface. Everything is beautifully lit, making it easy to take in all the incredible details. The entrance fee is only 40K VND, which is really affordable for such a memorable and breathtaking adventure. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area, it’s one of those places that leaves a lasting impression!

If you are planning to visit De Nang don't miss out this place. There were 2 options to reach mountain top one by taking elevator till 5th floor and then walk or else by trekking or walking via mountain stairs. If you taking elevator you have to pay more but for trekking it's free. There was a entry charge for the mountain. Follow the map and then you reach different view points, temple, caves etc. It was a good experience. Keep a water bottle and soft towel with you as Vietnam is famous for its extreme hot climate.

High & breathtaking ❤️ a long lift from the bottom to the top you would enjoy magnificent views of the mountain below. The place is well worth of travel with the bridge and all the activities. Get your walking shoes on because you will be walking a lot if you want to see all the beautiful things they have created. There are also many rides... Which I missed some of them 😂 well worth the investment of time and money to see this place if you are in the area 🌟

This is a must go place for any tourist travelling to da nang. Best to go early as this place opens at 7am. There is lot of walking up the stairs. So carry water and be prepared to explore the pagodas and mesmerizing caves. Also donot miss the highest point of the peak here which gives a beautiful view of the city and the sea
Arijit S — Google review
The views from the top are beautiful, even in a bit of rain, and the climb through the caves and pagodas is interesting without being too exhausting. The area feels peaceful and well-maintained, and there’s plenty to explore — temples, statues, and little pathways that make you feel like you’re discovering hidden spots. It’s a nice mix of nature and culture, and much more relaxing and enjoyable than the crowded tourist traps. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in the area

Marble Mountains was a great experience. The entrance ticket is only 40,000 VND, and the elevator is very convenient — 15,000 VND per ride (30,000 VND round-trip). I spent about 1.5–2 hours exploring the caves, pagodas and viewpoints. Everything is well-organized, and the views over Da Nang are fantastic. Definitely worth visiting while in the area.

The Ngu Hanh Son (five elements mountains) OR Marble Mountains, are actually a cluster of FIVE marble and limestone hills, located in Da Nang, Vietnam. The five mountains are named after the five elements: Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth). All 5 have cave entrances, tunnels and Buddhist sancturies. It is still possible to climb to the summit of Mount Thuy, (the only mountain accessible for visitors) a 156 steps distance, which gives great views from its summit. The mountains were in fact close to American Marble Mountain Air Facility, during the Vietnam War. Those days, the Marble Mountains contained a secret hospital for the Vietcong. The Marble Mountains are home to several Buddhist and Hindu grottoes too including Huyen Khong and Tang Chon, and many Hindu and Buddhist sanctuaries like the temples of Tam Thai, Tu Tam, Linh Ung, and the pagoda of Pho Dong. The sanctuaries feature statues and depictions of religious scenes, carved out of the marble itself. Even though one loves every bit of this Earth's geography and has the best in mind to preserve its nature, it was still fascinating to note, as to how anyone or for that matter, people generally, can make use of natural elements in such a perfect way. Carving or chipping out marble must have been extremely, mind and time consuming, and that to do so, without faults? ... amazing.

The beach is quite beautiful but when we visited it was forbidden to swim. The wind was strong and waves treacherous so it's understandable. There were no people and the area is full of unfinished hotels. There was one lifeguard on duty but he was sleeping. Maybe in the future it's worth going here but for now, we wasted our time driving down there looking for a less busy beach.
C. P — Google review
Danang’s beach is long, clean, and surprisingly quiet. Compared to more crowded beach destinations, this felt peaceful and even a little under-appreciated. We stayed near the Non Nuoc Beach area, and most mornings we had the sand almost to ourselves. The waves were gentle, and the sunrise views were beautiful. It’s a perfect place to take a slow walk, sit under the trees, or just watch the horizon. Even the hotel beachfront felt private and spacious. Tip: Go early in the morning for the softest light and almost no crowd. Wear sandals, and bring water if you're planning to walk far.

The beach is very long with nice clear sand but unfortunately we were there during storm season so it was forbidden to swim

Sadly another example in Southeast Asia that shows that there is a lack of environmental awareness in society. Dirt, plastic bottles everywhere, unidentifiable garbage and the water or sand has a black-grey haze. They have to ensure cleanliness and protection of nature here so that tourists will continue to come in the future. We've now been to three beaches in the region and the same thing everywhere. I wouldn't want to swim here...
Daniel F — Google review
Beach is a bit dirty and lined with resorts (and unfinished constructions). There are no amenities (some toilets are closed, no coffee shop, no lounge chairs unless you are from a resort)
Xavier J — Google review
on Nuoc Beach amazed me with its calm waves and soft sand, perfect for swimming or just relaxing. It’s quieter than My Khe, making it more peaceful. You should try fresh seafood at local beachside restaurants. I recommend this spot for anyone wanting a less crowded coastal escape.

So quite place. If you want an umbrella and chaise-lounge you could rent it at the nearby hotel. The waves were big but we could swim.

Lady Buddha

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The location is stunning. I took a grab from the hotel and my driver gladly waited for me since it can be difficult to get one depending on the time you go. I would highly recommend being there at 7 am before the tourist buses arrive. The early morning time is peaceful and you are able to soak it in with out fighting with the posers. The bonsai trees are beautiful along with the view. Unfortunately I did not see any monkies when there.
Lori A — Google review
Excellent place to visit. The temples were all awesome. Great picture taking opportunities. I took a grab there and had no problems getting one back to my hotel. A must visit while in DaNang. I was there for over two hours. Do not feed the monkeys. Don’t forget to make donations at each temple as that’s the cost of admission.

I had very beautiful time here in Lady Buddha Temple 🤗✨ The place has amazing energy, there is a lot of nature and playful monkey enjoying their day. Temples are also very beautiful, colorful and peaceful. Lady Buddha is true masterpiece, beautifuly done! My compliments to the artists and people who created this beautiful sacred place 🙏🏻🥰

Peaceful place to visit and is always very clean. There are a few pagodas until you reach the statue and a lot of lovely shaped idols. Below the pagoda there is a temple which is very nice and important for the locals. It was raining when I visited and rest assured this was a nice experience. There are a lot of trees and plants which are very well taken care off

Very nice place to visit. You also get a good view of the East sea & da nang beach from top. The complex has some fantastic bonsai collections which itself is a major attraction. The towering statue of lady buddha is just beautiful against the blue sky backdrop. Worth a visit.

More Than Just a Photo Op We initially underestimated Lady Buddha, assuming it was a quick photo stop. Boy, were we wrong! This site deserves a dedicated visit. The views of Da Nang across the water are simply breathtaking. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, not only with large bonsai trees but also with intriguing statues. There are temples for Buddhists to pray, just remember to remove your shoes before entering as a sign of respect. This place is worth exploring, so don't rush through it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lady Buddha Da Nang – A serene guardian watching over the sea Lady Buddha, standing gracefully on the grounds of Linh Ứng Pagoda in Da Nang, is one of the most iconic and spiritually moving landmarks in Vietnam. Completed in 2010, this majestic statue was built under the vision of Vietnamese Buddhist monks and local artisans, with support from the Da Nang city government, as a symbol of peace, protection, and harmony for the people of the region. Rising 67 meters (220 feet) tall and facing the vast Son Tra Peninsula, the Lady Buddha is said to protect local fishermen and bless the city with calm seas and good fortune. When you stand at her feet, gazing up, you can truly feel her presence — calm, compassionate, and powerful. Inside the statue are multiple levels with shrines and Buddha images, each floor representing a different aspect of Buddhist teachings. The surrounding Linh Ứng Pagoda complex is equally breathtaking — traditional Vietnamese architecture, elegant dragon motifs, and the gentle sound of temple bells carried by the sea breeze. The view from the top is simply unforgettable — the entire Da Nang coastline stretching out in shades of blue and gold, especially beautiful at sunset. What makes this place so special isn’t just its beauty, but the sense of peace it offers. Even with visitors around, there’s a deep stillness that quiets the mind. Locals often come here to pray, meditate, or simply find comfort under the watchful gaze of the Lady Buddha. Lady Buddha Da Nang isn’t just a tourist site — it’s a place of spiritual reflection and emotional grounding. Whether you’re religious or not, you’ll leave with a sense of calm and gratitude. Truly one of Vietnam’s most soul-stirring destinations.

This is the same as the Monkey mountain. Very serene place, and recommendable to visit. The place was clean and very accessible with beautiful temples and white marble statues… Be very careful of your belongings as the monkeys will snatch your food… Free entry…
