Tiské stěny, located near the Germany-Czech border, is a picturesque alpine region offering biking, hiking, and rock climbing opportunities amidst stunning sandstone formations. Visitors can set out from the charming St. Anna Church to explore two inviting trails marked with white and green markers. The area's labyrinth of grand sandstone formations provides a delightful adventure for outdoor enthusiasts. Despite being challenging to climb on rainy days due to slippery conditions, the place offers magnificent views and beautiful forests.
Great destination for a day trip. Easy rout and amazing views. The starting point is next to St.Anna church. I'm recommending to stop by in the tourist information office next to the parking and take a map (not sure if they have it in English). Entrance fee 50,- Kč for adult and 25,-Kč for kids. Enjoy it! ⛰️👍🏼

What an amazing place. A bit of a steep walk in but the views and terrain are wonderful. Lots of interesting rock formations. Some sort and longer track options. Some sections can be a bit tricky but nothing too hard. Just make sure you are paying attention (easy to have a fall when there are so many nice things to look at). It costs 50kr for adults and 25kr for kids. You need to pay with cash. Not sure if they accept euro. We did this as part of a day tour from Prague.
Craig C — Google review
Entrance 50 kron. Only cash, fine to pay by euro but without change I guess 😺 Great location for 2-3 hours, less tourists than in Bastai, great for trip with kids as this place is more save. Near park you can see cemetery. After walk drink coffee in coffee point down the hill.
Maria E — Google review
Great place, covers a big area with so many formations which are fun to walk through for adults and especially kids. I suggest you start with rock number 1 and 2 to the right of the ticket office. See my photo for the map. It is a lovely route. At the end you can climb some narrow metal stairs to take you back along the top with views but be careful with kids and dogs because the edge is unprotected. Young kids and even teenagers having fun climbing, hiding and scrambling through tunnels and caves in the rocks. Entry is 100kr adults (I think they put price up in summer). Cash only. Only a short steep walk from the village and parking (paid). We enjoy this so much more than the archway Pravčická brána in Hrensko which was a long hard walk to see an archway with a Coca Cola umbrella under it ! Good cafe selection in village.

great place. Our leader explained everything for us in a story and we didn’t even notice that the time just passed so quickly( it took us more than two and half hours). I live watches and finding out so much about them fascinates me a lot. All and all great experience. Come by

If you're around Dresden and love clocks, this museum is worth the half hour drive. In addition, both the road you will drive on and the town are very enjoyable. Do not miss it!

Terra mineralia

Museum in a castle with over 80,000 exhibits, teaching visitors about the make-up of the earth.
Amazing collection! Nicely labeled by country and continent, interesting illumination, lovely! Worth the drive to Freiberg to see all this collection, and discover such a beautiful town afterwards!
Simona K — Google review
I love this place - have been there many times. Excellent exhibit for those that like rocks, guided tours in several languages, easy to follow and always learning something new! The halls are full of beautiful displays which are carefully curated, lit up and taken care of. Not sure good for toddlers, they would likely be bored, at least I would not spend more than an hour there with them (on my own, though, different story). Gift shop is a must, prices are super reasonable!
Teri A — Google review
This is by far the best mineral museum I've ever seen. The specimens you can find are of the utmost quality, and in huge quantities Some kind of lab at third floor is only available on the weekend but I don't think it's important The shop also doesn't have only the usual souvenirs but also precious minerals like Rutile and native gold The ticket is 5€ + an optional fee of 3€ to take photos
ZBarba — Google review
This is the best museum I have ever visited in Germany. They are thoughtfully planning each activity and exhibition. The activity are suitable for family visit, kids will love here. But I will suggest add more English contents, since some chemical elements and mineral contents are difficult to understand in German, and We didn't buy "take a photo" right, so we can't take our phones out for translation.
Kai-Ze — Google review
This is the finest mineralogical museum I have visited in my life. I was overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the collection. Amazing! 5 stars doesn't do justice to this shrine of mineralogy. Highly recommended!

If you like minerals and there many amazing uses, this is a great place to visit.
Aaron A — Google review
Museum of minerals. 5 floor different minerals around the worlds. Gorgeous exposition. A lot to watch. Take a time. There is also souvenir shop. I was hoping to see more different gemstone, but i liked.
Aimar J — Google review
I was awestruck when i first saw the crystals. These are beautiful and gives some of the best feeling, if you really like some geology. They have crystals from Brazil, USA, Mexico, India, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, South Africa, Namibia and as well as europe. This is really good for children as well as adult. You can try some best photography here with the crystal.

Stolpen Castle

13th-century fortress with a torture chamber, history exhibits & a program of concerts & theater.
The castle was in great shape. It has been well maintained. Turrets and towers were easily accessed and contained displays relevant to the rooms use.
John S — Google review
Nice castle Interesting basement and water system as other castles in the area Low rating because no signs! Very difficult to find the parking lot The cafe was also due to the lack of resources closed!
M ( — Google review
During my recent visit to Stolpen Castle, I was truly captivated by the rich history and well-preserved architecture of this medieval gem. The impressive fortifications, including the fascinating basalt columns, offered a unique insight into the engineering marvels of the time. Wandering through the beautiful castle gardens, I was struck by the serene atmosphere and the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. As a history enthusiast, I particularly enjoyed exploring the living quarters and learning about the life of the famous prisoner, Countess Cosel. Overall, Stolpen Castle is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the enchanting past of this remarkable fortress.
Mad — Google review
Amazing place, great castle to visit. Entrance fee is 7 euro for adults. I really enjoy the atmosphere and views. The Stolpen castle was also built with basalt columns and you can see beautiful basalt on its premises. It takes around 1-2 hours to view the whole place.

Great castle for family. It is free and open to the public. There is also an ice cream shop near by, having diverse tastes.

Unfortunately after 500years and a few wars not all of it remains standing But it tells a story witch is pretty interesting The price is 7€pp and for parking you have to walk a few meters it's below at the hill you can also park at the old square but it's only for an hour The town around it is also pretty cute to walk in

Frauenkirche Dresden

Church
Sights & Landmarks
The Frauenkirche Dresden is a stunning Baroque church that was reconstructed and reconsecrated in 2005 after being destroyed during World War II. It is part of the magnificent architectural ensemble in Dresden, often referred to as 'The Florence on the Elbe,' which includes the Semper Opera House, Zwinger, Royal Palace, Cathedral St. Trinitatis (Hofkriche), and Castle Pillnitz.
This church is majestic and feels like a center piece of the city. The surrounding area with the church makes this place very picturesque. There is a called rubble from the past that is kept next to the church which is a nice little touch. This is definitely a must visit site in Dresden
Anand — Google review
We visited as it’s our last day, it’s pretty impressive how much money, time, and effort to rebuild all these historic buildings, including this Church of our Lady. Inside still haven’t had much to see but still nice to visit. Free entry but if you wish to climb up to the viewing tower over 100 steps then have a fee.
Pasan S — Google review
This is a beautiful church that is the jewel of Dresden. I loved visiting the church as well as sitting outside in one of the many cafes and restaurants and taking in the view. Church entrance is free. It’s gorgeous inside. If you want to climb up the dome, you need to go around the back. I think it was €12 entrance. The views are great from the top. There are a good few steps going up to start and then there is a ramp around the dome which makes it far easier to ascend.
Gary W — Google review
Brilliant history! In the final days of WWII, the whole city was bombed including this church which was a very important part of Dresden. Following the reunification of German, it was rebuilt using some of the original stone! The building is incredible and there is a stunning view from the top. A must visit!
Evelyn S — Google review
Frauenkirche Dresden, A symbol of peace and rebirth. Destroyed during World War II and rebuilt from its original stones, the Church of Our Lady stands today as a powerful reminder of faith, resilience, and hope. Its magnificent dome shines once again over the heart of Dresden
Ali A — Google review
It's free to walk into the main part of the church where you can see the beautiful interior, and 10€ per person to climb to the top of the church. The stairs are pretty easy most of the way up, and up until after you finish walking up a big sloped ramp near the end you must also get up some VERY steep and skinny stairs (so beware, if you're a claustrophobe or don't like heights). But the view of Dresden is so worth it if you do it.
Caleb M — Google review
The magnificent Frauenkirche! When I last visited decades ago, the church was nothing but a pile of rubble—or more accurately, a heap of stones—serving as a stark reminder of the devastation of war. Reconstruction began in 1994, and on October 30, 2005, it was officially reopened. The church hall is impressively tall and richly decorated. You can climb up to the dome, but we didn’t have time for that on this visit. I’m sure the views from up there—both into the church and across Dresden—are breathtaking. If you only have time to visit one attraction in Dresden, I’d choose the Frauenkirche.
Heikki K — Google review
We came for a Mozart concert. It was fabulous. This rebuild baroque church is bright and beautifully grand. It holds around 3000 guests and is decorated with much gold and adornments. The seats were comfortable not like other old churches.it was warm and without drafts.

The SKD | Green Vault is a museum in Dresden that showcases an impressive collection of cabinet pieces by court jeweler Dinglinger and other precious objects. It is part of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, which houses famous museums presenting masterpieces acquired over centuries by the Princes of Saxony and Kings of Poland. Visitors to the Residence Castle can explore various places including the historical and new Green Vault, throne rooms, Armoury collection, Turkish Chamber, and coin collection.
As magnificent as it can be! Right here we see the work of lifetime to an artist! It truly worth of nine euro of entry fee. No jacket and of any backpack allowed in the museum! You really need two to three hours to truly enjoy the detail of each and every piece of art! Also the history behind! If you visit Dresden, don’t miss this great collection!
Steven C — Google review
The museum itself is quite good — a very rich exhibition, definitely worth seeing. However, the overall impression was seriously spoiled by the staff. Already at the ticket counter, the employees were rude to visitors, and unfortunately, the same attitude continued inside the museum. It felt as if they were retired Stasi officers — the interaction was that cold and unpleasant. We've never experienced anything like this in any other museum.
Ярослав С — Google review
Definitely one of the many must-see attractions in Dresden. Received unfortunately worldwide media attention because of the heist in 2019, of which the most valuable pieces are still missing. It’s recommended to buy tickets in advance, we waited 1h. Very impressive and valuable collection of different pieces.
Tymoteusz M — Google review
We visited as part of a Viking tour group. Be aware that you will have to check your bag (even if it's small), and save your ticket for the restrooms. Lifts are available. We had no problems bringing in phones and taking pictures, and the staff were pleasant. I recommend a guide if possible if only because these pieces have a lot of history, from technique of manufacturing, provenance, and their survival throughout the war. The stories a guide can provide really make or break this experience, I think.
Jen S — Google review
One of the most beautiful treasure rooms I've ever seen in my life. Well with the visit. A highlight of the city. I recommend people visit Dresden for this specific treasure vault. Excellent audio guide. Pictures but allowed inside.
Lukasz Z — Google review
We booked two tickets in visit the green Vault with audio guide, it’s very interesting each every pieces of the treasures have story to listen to, and the all of them so beautiful, uniquely crafted handmade. Unfortunately, we aren’t allowed to take any pictures but to observe and appreciate the beauty is already sufficient. You can’t miss out this place in Dresden.
Pasan S — Google review
It's really worth visiting this museum. 3 hours of walking around this huge area (without using audio guides) with many different exhibitions. PS. Buy a ticket for the "new" part if it's possibly to buy just this one. The historical part is just 20min, where you can't take pictures
Jakub U — Google review
This place has so much to see. I would not bother with a tour. We had signed our 10th graders up for a tour and it was way too short. Sadly, you do not really get to see that much on the on the tour. We really only saw what felt about 2% of the exhibition. I highly recommend using your ticket to climb to the top of the tower because you have an amazing view.

Fürstenzug

Points of Interest & Landmarks
In Dresden, Saxony, one of the most captivating attractions is the Fürstenzug, also known as the Procession of Princes. This impressive 102-meter-long mural made of 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles showcases the history of the House of Wettin, spanning from the 12th to the 19th century.
The Fürstenzug in Dresden is an impressive mural made of Meissen porcelain tiles, depicting the history of Saxon rulers. At over 100 meters long, it is one of the largest porcelain artworks in the world. The level of detail in the figures is truly fascinating, bringing history to life. A must-see historical landmark when visiting Dresden!
Victoria M — Google review
The Fürstenzug took me by surprise—so detailed and grand, yet tucked along a quiet street. From my perspective, it’s one of those places that really brings history to life. The scale and craftsmanship of the porcelain mural are incredible, and it’s amazing how well it’s been preserved. It’s definitely worth pausing here while exploring the old town—it doesn’t take long, but it leaves a lasting impression.
Koel G — Google review
the procession of princes is enormous 102-meter-long porcelain mural that basically tells the history of saxony. it features 94 figures of all the saxon rulers and nobles in chronological order, starting way back in 1127. what's really cool is that it's made from an incredible 25,000 meissen porcelain tiles, which makes it the world's largest porcelain artwork. you'll find it right on augustusstraße, so it's super easy to check out as you're walking between dresden's main attractions. and the best part? you can view it completely free
KK — Google review
What an excellent and exquisite display of porcelain art. I believe the art shows a march of the Saxon ruler dynasty and is the larger porcelain mural in the world. When you come upon the wall, the sheer size of it is jaw dropping. You won’t be able to believe what you are seeing. It is beautiful. This is a must see sight when you visit Dresden.
Anand — Google review
We visited the Fürstenzug in December 2024 during the Christmas market, and we were truly impressed. Hahhh, what can I say or express? It was an incredible experience to stand in front of this massive wall of history. This open-air artwork is both grand and full of detail, yet located on a quiet street in Dresden’s historic center. * Stretching 102 meters long, the mural is made of over 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles and portrays the genealogy of the Wettin dynasty, which ruled Saxony for centuries. It’s considered the largest porcelain mural in the world. Originally painted between 1871 and 1876, it was later replaced with porcelain tiles from 1904 to 1907 to withstand the weather. In addition to princes, kings, and dukes, the mural also features scientists, craftsmen, farmers, and even children — which gives the artwork a more human and timeless feel. It’s a true open-air history lesson. The visit is free, quick, and unforgettable. Definitely worth stopping by while exploring the Old Town. And afterward, take a break at one of the lovely nearby cafés! I Recommend it.
Vanessa K — Google review
Once I arrived in Dresden, I had to take the latest available train to see this. It’s more than I expected. On weekends, this alley can get a little crowded, so you might have to wait a while to get a good picture. :)
Minh N — Google review
Wonderful historic place in the Alt stadt dresden! Indeed its a very beautiful architecture and painting
Navya N — Google review
This beautiful and historic mural, which we explored during a walking tour, runs along the Oberlandesgericht (Higher Regional Court) building. The intricate artwork, done in the style of sgraffito, is impressive and worth pausing to admire. The mural tells the story of Saxony’s history, making it both visually and historically captivating. It’s free to view, and you could spend 15-20 minutes here as part of a walking tour of Dresden’s historic centre.

Brühl's Terrace, also known as the "balcony of Europe," is a Renaissance terrace in Dresden that offers stunning views of the Elbe River and beautiful architecture. Originally part of the city's fortifications, it was transformed into a terraced garden open to the public in 1814.
Brühl’s Terrace felt like the perfect place to slow down and take in Dresden’s beauty. From my perspective, it’s where the city opens up—offering stunning views of the Elbe River, historic buildings, and a peaceful atmosphere despite being in the middle of town. It’s great for a scenic walk, especially around sunset, and there’s a real sense of history all around you.
Koel G — Google review
Fun terrace and great viewing platform to see the Elbe and the city as a whole. Great point in the city to figure out where to head next, amazing architecture with some beautiful flowers and fountains. You may even be able to find a chimney cake!
Duncan W — Google review
It's not called The Balcony of Europe for nothing. Breathtaking place to spend some time admiring the views and peace watching. Very positive energy.

wow there was mesmerising view to enjoy. easy to access. from central station i took tram 3 (waider man) direction and get down in theatreplatz. Here there are two spots to explore. One is palace the dresden zwinger and the terrace view of city and river. Evening time very pleasant time to enjoy here.
Ra. S — Google review
It's very beautiful views of a part of the city on the other side, to the river itself with ships floating on it, and with various beautiful historical architectural buildings on the other side (on the terrace). There are also several cafeterias and one very good restaurant. This place is very beautiful and interesting for walking so I highly recommend visiting it just for walking.

Balcony of Europe. A perfect place to wind down and enjoy Dresden's beauty. Sit down on one of the benches and relax without knowing the time passing by. River Elbe flows in front of you and sunset offers beautiful views. It's worth noting to go to the opposite Neumarkt to get great views of the terrace.

Dresden Zwinger

Dresden Zwinger is a stunning Baroque building that houses a porcelain collection and exhibits on historic scientific instruments. The city of Dresden, often referred to as 'The Florence on the Elbe,' boasts magnificent architectural wonders like the Semper Opera House, Royal Palace, Cathedral St. Trinitatis, Castle Pillnitz, and Frauenkirche. Despite the devastation of World War II, Dresden has persevered and regained its beauty.
The building is still under construction 🚧 and the garden also. But it’s still beautiful, they allowed tourists to go inside the garden for free and walking up to the fortress area to see the view on both sides of the castle and city. The beautiful historical arts and history is worth to visit, very close to the Opera House too.
Pasan S — Google review
Magnificent Baroque palace, initially build by August Strong as a an orangery and gardens, destroyed by the ally bombings in 1945, restored in 50s and 60s . You can walk on the roof of the galleries and admire the beauty of it. It's open till late evening and the entrance is free. The inner garden part is currently ( as of August 2025) under renovation. The galleries house 2 museums - one of mathematical instruments and another is porcelain gallery ( which I highly recommend). When we were there in one of the towers a classical music concert was held. It was beautiful to listen to music in a such beautiful place.
Elllen K — Google review
I visited the Zwinger in Dresden and really enjoyed the experience. There is a lot to see here, and the place itself feels quite special. The architecture is impressive and honestly a bit overwhelming – you can just stand there and keep looking at all the details. Every corner has something interesting, from the buildings themselves to the sculptures and the way everything is arranged. It was a bit crowded when I visited, but that didn’t really stop me from enjoying it. You still have plenty of space to walk around and take your time. I found myself slowing down just to notice the small details, and it was worth it. Overall, I think it’s one of those places you shouldn’t miss if you’re in Dresden. It’s not only about seeing a landmark, but also about the feeling of being surrounded by such a unique piece of history and design.
Yana — Google review
This is an absolute must-see in Dresden. There’s no need to explain why — just go. The palace offers much more to see than you might expect, so make sure to allow plenty of time for your visit. It’s truly worth the admission fee. The art museum was particularly impressive !

Dresden Zwinger is an absolutely beautiful place—one of those spots where you instantly feel like you’ve stepped into another century. The architecture is breathtaking, with elegant palace buildings, detailed façades and peaceful courtyards that make the whole complex feel almost magical. It’s the kind of place where you can just stroll around, soak in the atmosphere, admire the gardens, and truly appreciate the history and beauty of Dresden. A must-see when visiting the city.

What a beautiful palace. Baroque at its best. Apparently nearly completely destroyed during world War 2 it now shines once more. Different exhibitions at the 4 wings with porcelain, old master and physics. Close to all the downtown historic buildings. In walking distance to the Frauenkirche. A definite must see.

We walked here to do something. It was pretty. We went across the street to rooftop bar pretty good view and sunset was pretty.

The Zwinger in Dresden is one of the city’s most stunning Baroque landmarks. Its elegant courtyards and ornate pavilions make it perfect for walking around and taking photos. The Old Masters Gallery, home to the “Sistine Madonna,” is a highlight, along with impressive porcelain and scientific collections. The site is well-kept, atmospheric, and beautiful both day and night. A visit truly feels worthwhile.

Art gallery
Museums
The Old Masters Picture Gallery is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, featuring an impressive collection of European art from the 16th to 18th centuries. The gallery houses renowned works by Raphael, Rembrandt, Vermeer, and other masters such as Titian, Tintoretto, Holbein, Durer, and Cranach.
The Gemäldegalerie Dresden is truly a treasure that has emerged from the shadows of history, often referred to as the "Sleeping Beauty" during the communist era. Despite being overlooked for so long, this painting gallery has been beautifully rediscovered and now stands proudly among its esteemed peers like the Uffizi, Prado, the National Gallery and others. Since its establishment in 1746, the gallery has offered an extraordinary collection of masterpieces that captivate art lovers and casual visitors alike. The rich history of the gallery, coupled with its stunning exhibits, makes it an absolute excellence in Dresden. Whether you're an art aficionado or just looking for a cultural experience, the Gemäldegalerie is a must-visit. It’s a powerful reminder of the resilience of art and culture, and a testament to Dresden's commitment to preserving its artistic heritage. Don't miss the chance to experience this magnificent collection! Support it becoming a member of the association MUSEIS SAXONICIS USUI!

My lifelong dream to visit the Dresden Gallery of Old Masters finally came true. I spent almost whole day admiring the amazing art presented in the galleries, and it was enough. Even though the OMG is not as overwhelmingly big as let's say MET or Louvre one can easily spend 2-3 days here. Rubens, Titian, Botticelli, Cranach to name a few, and there are much more of Dutch, Germany, Italian masters. Please come and enjoy.

Impressive museum, probably the best in Dresden (if not in Germany), with a great collection of classic masterpieces. The architecture and interior layout of the building is really beautiful and easy to navigate and enhances the entire pleasurable experience.

An excellent collection in a beautiful building. Definitely either reserve tickets online or get there early; it quickly gets crowded.

Nice structured museum, a lot of paitings by famous painters. Also interesting the mathematical and porcelain museums.

Verdict: Way, way more art than you can possibly shake a stick at, this is a must- visit if you come to Dresden. Top-notch art combined with superb (and sometimes overwhelming) storytelling on the labels and boards, this museum is an art lover's paradise. Details: it's popular for good reasons, so make sure you either get a ticket online or go there early to avoid long lines. The rooms are all wall-color-coded by period and style of the art housed in the rooms, so it's easy to navigate around and figure out if you've been to a certain place. All rooms are of Zwinger Palace's original structure, so take some time to admire that part too. All paintings have detailed labels telling us who painted this worked named X at what time with what material, and on top of that, many paintings have stories, narratives, or explanation about them too, also on the label board. We are big fans of art and haven been to many other world-class museums, but we still learned a great deal from these stories, narratives, and explanations accompanying the paintings -- that's a good return on investment, money well spent. Protips: - The famous Sistine Madonna is housed in a room very close to the end of the Italian Renaissance wing. - The Flemish paintings in the cabinet-style rooms on the sides of the main rooms in the same wing are excellent. - The upper floor's series of landscape paintings of the historical Dresden and its surrounding areas are well worth checking out, especially if you are interested in the history of the city itself. - There's only one set of restrooms and it's on the lower level by the ticket desk. Technically you need to exit the exhibition area to reach it and scan your ticket again when you return to the exhibitions, so keep your ticket on you until you are all done for the day with all the art there.

Old Masters Gallery in Dresden is a world class collection of paintings from a period spanning 15th to 18th centuries. It is a must-visit museum which is very professionally run. In my first visit, my primary motivation was to see the Dresden Triptych by the master Flemish painter Jan Van Eyck (this is one of the few -about 20- remaining paintings by him). It is truly breathtaking to see how much painterly skill he had. Understandably, they keep it under a glass enclosure. After the first one, I visited this museum a few more times. Overall, it is a unique collection with many great artists (Rembrandt, Vermeer, Holbein the younger, Ribera, Titian etc.) and paintings to choose as favorites. But the real suprise for me was to see the 18th century veduta paintings (cityscapes) by Bernardo Bellotto. The detail and precision with which he captured Dresden and the surrounding provinces is remarkable. As someone who loves landscape paintings and is a fan of Claude Lorrain, John Constable and Joseph Mallord William Turner (each had very distinct styles, of course), it was such a pleasant suprise to discover an artist like Belotto. I will definitely come back!

Situated in Dresden Old Town, the Semperoper is a renowned opera house known for its opulent interior and exceptional acoustics. Originally built in 1841 by architect Gottfried Semper, it has a rich history including destruction by fire in 1869 and bombing in 1945. Despite these setbacks, the opera house was rebuilt and continues to host spectacular performances. The 1,300-seat auditorium offers an intimate setting with excellent views from every seat.
Very impressive building, both interior as well as exterior-wise. If you are an opera-fan, than you definitely have to visit this place. We decided to attend it on short notice, hence only seats with very restrictive were left, but to buy well in advance. Still very much recommendable!

We booked a tour to see inside the opera house, with English speaker guide. It last only 45 minutes, the guy explained pretty much what he wanted to say. In order to take pics you have to get a permission sticker for 3 euros per person. Basically, only 2 rooms we saw which was the entrance room and the main hall.
Pasan S — Google review
It is a magnificent opera house with beautiful architecture. The interior (especially ceiling) is also breathtaking. We have seen some ballet, Staatskapelle and musical performances before, and they were truly amazing.

We attended Elisabeth – Das Musical at the Semperoper and had an absolutely spectacular evening, even with the most affordable tickets. The performance, the atmosphere, and the historic setting all came together for a truly memorable experience. Even though we don’t speak German, the musical was still thoroughly enjoyable—impressive vocals, moving music, and stunning stage design helped tell the story beautifully. It was a perfect way to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We went for the 7 PM summer show, which worked out wonderfully as we could enjoy a drink at the open-air foyer before the performance and during intermission. The elegant surroundings and warm weather added to the charm of the evening. If you’re in Dresden, catching a performance here is a must—even if you don’t understand the language. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

Gorgeous building! Visiting here is a must if you are in Dresden. I am sure it would be amazing to see a show here. I recommend going on a guided tour at night. The only disappointing thing is the tour is advertised as "Behind the curtains" but you do not go backstage and cannot even see the stage due to a huge fire-safety door.

Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen GmbH, located at Talstrasse 9, is a historic castle factory that showcases porcelain from 1710 to the present. Visitors can witness the centuries-old process of making Meissen china using traditional designs on a self-guided tour lasting between 30 and 60 minutes. The manufactory also offers pre-recorded audio devices in multiple languages for an immersive experience.
A really lovely and modern building, which feels very light and airy. Our tour guide was excellent, providing great facts and stories. Well worth the visit, which is a 30 minute train ride from Dresden, and then a 10 minute walk from the train station. Tip: The cafe was surprisingly good! You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating.

If you are in Meissen, you need to visit this museum. They have huge collection and you will be amazed with the giant porcelain pieces. Tour was also fun, you go to different rooms to learn about modeling, sculpting, painting etc. We spent good two good hours there.

Meissen and porcelain are like synonyms. So why not visit nice Meißen porcelain museum. If you want to know more, there are guided tours. More information, it all depends what you want. Museum can visit without guide. And of course is there shop, from where you can buy to yorself beautiful porcelain products. Near the factory is parking area.

The presentation is a little bit lacking, but otherwise is ok and the museum is amazing. The porcelains came from very different periods and this is why so beauty the collection. Good work for presentation and the kahle is the best.

The Meissen porcelain manufactory is a very interesting place for those who love beautiful tableware, beautiful trinkets and are interested in crafts. You can go to the store and the museum at any time when the manufactory is open. But I strongly recommend purchasing tickets with a demonstration of the production process; it is better to buy them in advance for a tour in a language suitable for you. However, there is an English audioguide, it allows you to take advantage of the German excursion. I advise to visit a local cafe, where you will have the opportunity to dine on original Meissen porcelain. As a compliment we get there especial cookies with manufacture symbol.

Meissen Cathedral, a grand Gothic structure built between 1260 and 1410, is a stunning example of medieval architecture. Adjacent to the castle, it features intricate sculptures and steeples added in 1909. The cathedral's exterior showcases impressive polychrome statues of Holy Roman Emperor Otto and Adelaide of Burgundy, while its interior boasts a Protestant pulpit. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of Meissen from the hill where the cathedral is located.
A stunning cathedral with a rich German history. We really enjoyed our visit. It is 6 euros to enter, but worth the visit.

Meissen Cathedral sure worth a visit. You have to pay a little to enter, but in this case it is justified: in the cathedral situated also a museum with interesting relics, as well as the tomb of the Saxon rulers with detailed explanations, including English. I advise to climb to the cathedral by feet through the old town, you will be rewarded with amazing views and interesting objects. The observation deck of the cathedral itself is also a must-see

Branitzer Park (Innenpark)

Wonderful park created by Prince Pückler in 1846 with ponds, waterways and bridges. Earth pyramids on land and in the middle of a pond are lovely. A fine castle with sculptures is inspired by Greek, Roman and Oriental mythologies. The castle's interior is splendid. In my opinion more intriguing than Bad Muskau Park.
Jayjay V — Google review
We drove out early because it was going to be a very hot day (34 C) and we had our dog with us. The inner park is beautiful with incredible trees. They’re all well looked after and the paths go through nice shaded and open areas. You can tell Fürst Pückler loved nature and things dear to him. Where else would you find a grave for his dog, his favourite Arabian horse and a pyramid for his wife. It’s certainly worth while coming here also during the other seasons to see the colours of the trees. The mansion costs 9€ entrance fee and has a big collection of paintings and a beautiful library. There are 3 places where you can take a break. We had lunch at the „Kavalier“ and ended the tour at the cafe „Der Kleine Kavalier“, where we also got water for the dog (don‘t worry, we had enough water for him with us)

Branitz Park is the perfect escape in Cottbus — a peaceful, green space where you can sit quietly, enjoy nature, and let your mind relax. It’s great for a picnic, cycling, or a run with friends. I especially love visiting on a sunny morning or during the golden hour in the evening — the light makes everything feel magical. Not many stairs to climb up so that's a good thing. A nice experience to view the city from the spremberger turm and the weather was good so it added value to the experience. While climbing up the stairs there was this clock system in upper levels and it was fascinating to have a look at it.

About 30 meters high, Spremberger tower is situated on the edge of old town. You can climb to the top for a small fee of 2€, the view from there is quite nice. You can see as far as 5-10 km on a sunny day. The viewing platform up the top can fit about 20 people at max. Definitely recommend to visit if you got a few spare minutes in Cottbus.
Pavlo — Google review
After ascending the steep stairs, we can see the wonderful sky and flocks of birds flying over the buildings. Although it was a rainy day, the distant sunlight shone through the clouds, creating a magnificent sight. With views of the city from all sides, winding and straight streets, pedestrians strolling, the city is quiet and serene. I should come back again, waiting for a clear sunny day or a beautiful sunset evening.

Tropical Islands is a vast water park with accommodations like rooms and cottages, featuring an indoor rainforest and a lagoon. The Aquapark AMAZONIA offers outdoor heated pools, water slides, and Balinese beds for relaxation. Conference facilities are available for business events. Guests can enjoy various dining options on-site. While some visitors had issues with check-in, they found the park impressive with its diverse activities and natural elements like animals and plants.
We had a great stay, but yes they use too much chlorine in the water and since chlorine is a gas and is not trapped well in warm water the atmosphere is feeling heavy of chlorine. This is unfortunate. Having said that, we had a great stay. Not all the staff are polite as expected but the greatest majority are good. They are just not very confortable with English. The service was good however. We stayed at the sunrise houses and it was a great surprise. It was clean and very fresh, almost new even.
Martin L — Google review
It’s an incredible experience that I will never do again. The waterpark aspect is nice and huge, but every beach chair is taken by towels… You can change to swim wear in the dome but there are not enough closets for everyone and the ones that seem available are broken. Meaning the lock doesn’t work. The food is bad and the service to get the food is worse - it’s horrendous. They have hired just about 1 server per restaurant and they only speak German. Today our dinner restaurant at Ohana hotel where we stay, had run out of 2 food items, of 5 available, and ketchup. At least they said that they might have it tomorrow, but no guarantees. The room in Ohana is nice. And one elevator is broken so always a queue to get up to your room. You can buy a refill cup, that you can fill every 45 minutes, but there was always a queue and multiple times we experienced that drinks had run out or no ice… If you like regular quality food, then this is not for you. If you like good food, then Germany is not for you. So, all in all it’s an experience - not be repeated.

Tropical Islands - a place that will test if your team would survive on a deserted island. I came to Tropical Islands for two days with a group of 16 friends. I booked four tents (bookings were made simultaneously, from one account). Upon arrival, I discovered that two tents were in Zone 1, and two more in another one – about 5 minutes apart. It seemed absurd to split the group, but I decided it wasn't worth arguing about. Upon arriving at the tents, we discovered that one of our assigned tents was occupied by strangers, leaving my guests with nowhere to sleep. I spent approx. 1.5 hours at the reception desk discussing the situation, and the staff sent me from one employee to another, with no specific action. Each employee kept me waiting, without telling me how long or for what I was waiting for. The manager suggested moving one tent to Zone 1 and leaving the other four guests separately in Zone 2, or putting four people in a "house" in a completely different area from the rest of my guests. This would have meant we'd be housed in three different areas of the complex. We weren't given the option of moving all of us to the same area. The only comment from the staff was "we are overbooked, we can't do anything about it - you can write a complaint". When I asked ironicaly if I could give a one-star rating on Google Maps as compensation, the employee said yes. What I'm doing right now. After the argument, we were given a tent that leaked and was completely wet (pics attached). The staff told us, they don't have any protective foil and we had to deal with it by ourselves. When asked what kind of compensation we will receive for the inconvenience, wasted time, and ruined atmosphere, the employee said we could get 4 coctails vouchers. After commenting that there were definitely more of us and the whole group was now waiting and getting upset, the employee decided the problem was limited to one tent. Ultimately, we received 7 vouchers, which could only be used in the area outside the main water attractions. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. The entire complex advertises itself as an amusement park, although the attractions included in the ticket price are two swimming pools (one of which is a children's playground), four indoor water slides, one pool and one outdoor slide. During our stay, the outdoor water wasn't very warm. The outdoor slide didn't have enough water, and we stopped at every turn, having to push ourselves off the walls. The bar and food court, as well as most of the attractions, close at 10:00 PM – this isn't a place for adults looking to spend a pleasant evening, enjoy an exotic evening drink on the beach, dance, etc. If it weren't for the fact that I wasted a lot of time on Saturday arguing with the staff and having team-building activities planned for my guests for the evening, we would have left right after breakfast on the second day, as there was absolutely nothing to do for more than 4-5 hours. On the positive side, I came with fantastic people who organized themselves, made a great atmosphere and wanted to have fun together. Breakfast was also good. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. The Polish Suntago is definitely more attractive, better organized, and has a wider variety of attractions for everyone and stuff is more pro-client.

We arrived at 6pm and waited in line for a little over 1hr to get checked in. Check in person was friendly but overwhelmed. We had to find our way around during our stay but it’s ok because my husband and my son are very good in memorizing the way. The frustration started when we wanted to check out. They have some check out machines that many people use to check out, but many of them are stuck because the machine won’t take the payment so in the end they can’t finish the self check out. After waiting and observing the situation, we decided to do check out at the counter. The person (a beautiful lady) told us how much to pay and I reached my wallet to pay to the cents with coins. This, apparently, created frustration for the beautiful lady and she had to shake her head while looking at what I was doing. VERY UNPOLITE, but also very German! Honestly, we had a great time at tropical island and in the end she had to ruin that experience. WHYYY???? I just don’t get it. But be prepared for this kind of customer service wherever you are when in Germany!
Ira H — Google review
Impressive at first glance but we wouldn't come again. The initial impression is really cool, the jungle area and overall size of the dome is nice! But afterwards, you'll notice some things: - Food and service are absolutely horrible. We waited 10 minutes to be seated at a restaurant, and there was no one in front of us and the restaurant was basically empty. - Almost all arcade games and tables in the game area are just broken. Overall, our group agreed that it was a nice one time experience and maybe really cool for a single day stay with small children, but we wouldn't go there again.
Alexander M — Google review
The venue itself is genuinely beautiful and well-kept. The environment is immersive, clean, and provides a pleasant tropical atmosphere, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the unique setting. Dining Disappointment: The food quality is poor. It mostly consists of low-quality frozen products sold at the price of normal, fresh meals. This is a significant drawback for a day-long visit. • Locker Trouble: The changing room situation was frustrating. Lockers for personal belongings are open and seemingly available, but are unusable, which causes inconvenience right at the start of the visit. • Service Hit-or-Miss: The staff attempts to be nice and polite, but the execution of good service is inconsistent. Their efforts are visible, but the helpfulness and efficiency vary.

On balance a great experience enjoyed by us all. Would advise an overnight stay, as facilities can be used prior both check-in and check-out. Arriving around 17:00 ~ albeit in November ~ using the QR code meant little or no delay, leaving time for the pools and water-slides prior the buffet dinner. Likewise with an early start we were able to use many of the facilities ahead of the day-trippers before a buffet breakfast. An imaginative way of using a remarkable historic building, and an interesting contrast to the autumn weather beyond! Our only criticism stems from using the regional railway service to arrive (30 mins delay) and depart (120 mins delay)... maybe the trains ran on schedule back in the day?
Colin H — Google review
It was the most horrible experience. We arrived at 11:30, none of the lockers were locked. We tried dozens of lockers. We, like many other people, had to leave our things in an open locker. Or we had to carry everything with us. We were with three small children, so carrying everything with us was not an option. The air and water inside were not warm enough, everyone was freezing, both the children and us. Very few hair dryers. Finally, when we were leaving, I accidentally noticed the extra 10, 15 and 25 euros. When I asked the cashier what it was for, he said that it was for the bracelet that closes the locker, 2.50 euros and he didn't know anything more. He sent us to the information desk and didn't want to solve the problem. The information desk showed that it was a charge for our numerous attempts to close the locker. Of course they took 50 euros from us, but we spent a lot of time arguing and our tired children barely survived the whole time. I can only imagine how many people didn't notice and just paid whatever they were charged. And for all this terrible service we paid 200 euros and an additional 100 euros for food (only for two adults and three small children under 5 years old).

Looking forward to our next skating tour!!!

I was a bit sceptic going here but I was pleasantly surprised by this place! It’s truly a gem for skaters. The road is wide and smooth, we could even skate with dogs. It was a beautiful weather on March 8

Beautiful place, beautiful trails. Amazing that this exists- such great paths for biking. People are friendly, there are cafes and vending machines. Varied scenery of fields and forest. Cannot recommend it enough.
Rachel R — Google review
Unbelievable that a skate and bike track like this exists anywhere in the world! It's a network of a few hundred km spawning around Berlin thru pristine landscapes, natural protected areas and rural villages. Made for purists to enjoy perfect tracks thru the most beautiful areas around Berlin!
Faktorisator G — Google review
Absolutely awesome!!! In CZ are some good places for skating and I also tried skating around Bärwalder See, but this is much higher level of skating. Quality of the roads are perfect. The roads are through forests, meadows, fields, villages. You can choose between many ways and distances. We met just a few people.
Petra Č — Google review
If you like skating, you definitely have to try this area. Hundreds od kilometers of skating paths divided into several circles so you can decide how much you want to skate. There are very few people on the road so you will enjoy the ride and nature around. Few swimming options along the way are welcomed during summer time.

SATAMA SAUNA RESORT & SPA

Sauna
Spas & Wellness
Airy accommodations in a refined lakeside spa resort with a restaurant, saunas & an outdoor pool.
We loved our Spa & Sauna Day and stayed for the entire opening time on a Saturday. Starting with breakfast and finishing with a cocktail, coffee and Cake+ beautiful dinner and many visits to various saunas and the pool in between! All in our bathrobes and flip flops! Plenty of deck chairs at the lake, beautiful rest rooms, the attraction was the theater sauna though, I've never seen anything like this and I'm sure nobody back home in Ireland will believe me because I've no photographic evidence!!!:D Will return!
Greta W — Google review
Been here many times. Always very nice and relaxing. The saunas are great and there is plenty of room to relax. Spend two days here with one night in a nearby hotel.
David S — Google review
The service at reception isn't very friendly, it's almost robotic. People reserve their chairs all day with their towels and there's nowhere to sit, and I went on a weekday. The chairs that were unoccupied had bird poo on them. But the most incredible thing is that in a place with saunas, where people sweat and lose a lot of liquid, water is not offered as a courtesy, you have to buy mineral water. I've been to many places like this around the world and this is the first one where I can't find any water stations to rehydrate. In short, the place is very beautiful, but there's a lack of attention on those details.
Vinicius V — Google review
I came here as a day visitor for 3 consecutive days. The experience was most enjoyable. Be aware that this business is in the former East Germany and most of the people here did not learn English (or foreign languages) at school. Some of the younger staff and migrant staff working in the restraunt, did speak some English. This is a great place to have some chill time with friends or family.
Phil N — Google review
Very nice place. A perfect alternative to Spreewaldtherme, it doesn't have as many swimming places but it makes up for it with a wide arrange of saunas. The "rituals" are sometimes a bit over the top but fun and respectful anyway. I will definitely come back
Ignacio E — Google review
Made us pay inflation! We came here because we received two vouchers for packages for our wedding in summer 2022. Vouchers was valid till the end of 2025 and included a visit, massage and a drink. At the end we were told that same package costs now around 20-25€ more per person than it was in 2022, so we need to pay the difference. This information was new to us and not shared over the phone, or at the entrance. Big scam, reason to not come back. Overall reception was not friendly or cooperative. Overall good massage, good restaurant, nice saunas. Very old school and small but clean with friendly people (except the entrance)
Aleksandra B — Google review
The spa is the best in Brandenburg: overlooks the lake, has wildlife, outdoor saunas made with wood and stone, great aufguss treatments - and a restaurant which is quite nice… however… If you’re staying overnight, then the review takes a turn. There’s no WiFi, no sauna towels, and unlike the Google ad here: the breakfast is not free (although the views of the lake are magnificent)
Dan C — Google review
The sauna heaven for wellness enthusiast. Great saunas in the middle of nature, easy access to the lake, quality food and friendly service.

My Buddy and I had a fantastic time here. We spend over 10 hours here. The Sauna options are awesome. So many great choices. Everybody is friendly. A very relaxed and chilled place to enjoy a day of relaxation. They have Hefeweizen on Tap which is really great. The Food in the Restaurant was awesome. We had lunch and later dinner there. I can't saying anything negative about the food or service. We mainly chilled on the rooftop patio. Sunday is a great time to come, no many people around. The pools are fun too. Loved the floating quite pool. We had such a great time we will be back. Can't wait. Thanks for letting us enjoy the facilities to the end. We where some of the last to leave. Thanks for your patience. The employees make the place special. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Huh somewhere between 3 and 4 tbh, but somehow more for three. So in consideration of price, and comparing price this price with vabali I would say that this spa fails the most. 6h with saunas and therme included is smth like 95 euros and ok its fine but I would for this price expect few basic things: - there is no shower gel.. - really limited and hidden places for taking water even in new buildings there is no place for drinkable water - towels not provided - because of location I would expect that's cheaper And then few things that I would expect for this money: - Ordering in a restaurant is like you need to go to the place order food and then they will bring it to you, it's kind of a half self service - would expect a lot of more sun beds it's almost impossible to find one that's free and many of them are just covered with someone's towel. - just found at the end that it's forbidden to take pictures, I don't have an issue with not taking pictures but it's really not so obvious Positive things: - really nice big pools, salty water, sound pool - Thai restaurants have really good food - new building panorama sauna and last floor terrace is awesome Overall, most of sauna's are really small so for sauna part if you want to visit there is much better sauna focus spa and it's in the center of Berlin. But for pools, I would definitely choose this one over the Vabali.
Nihad D — Google review
The worst possible experience to come all the way from Berlin to Bad Saarow Therme with the family to experience that this place solely dedicated to senior citizens/adults on Fridays and Saturdays. Children-free days are Friday and Saturday. What a “family-friendly” approach :( Terrible! BIG NOT thank you to the management of this place for ruining my son’s weekend! :(
Slava D — Google review
I've been to better spas..... My wife and I went here last night because we received a gift certificate for our wedding. We spent a little over 6 hours in the pool and sauna. Unfortunately, we didn't like it that much. While the saunas themselves are great, our favorite was the panoramic sauna overlooking the lake, everything else is tiny and feels cramped. The large saltwater pool is nice, but not as relaxing. And again, the space between the pools and the beds is very small and hard to walk around. A big positive surprise was the restaurant. We had the edamame, gyoza, mangu curry with shrimp and bun bo nam bo. It was delicious. Probably one of the best Thai meals I've had west of Phuket. Unfortunately, the evening ended on a sour note as the parking garage is also - surprise, surprise - super cramped and I scratched the rims of our car going down the super narrow ramp. To sum up: we've been here, but we prefer the SpreewaldTherme in Burg or the VaBali Spa in Berlin.
Birk A — Google review
Lovely place to go. The saunas have really nice view to the park! I wished that they had a proper restaurant with more options in the afternoon.

This spa is about 1 hour by train from Berlin then around 20 minutes by bus. Ideally you should spend at least 3 hours to really enjoy it. It offers jacuzzi, swimming pools and sauna. I loved the jacuzzi and the lavender sauna along with many cold and hot showers. Daily pass cost Euro 27 and 10 extra for sauna. Unfortunately, the food is very limited and the sitting is just wooden benches with ants crawling all over the tables. Obsulatly disgusting! There is a nice park overlooking a lake next to it , it's worth a visit.
Lina E — Google review
This is one of the most relaxing and clean public thermal and spa places I've seen. It's affordable, you can reach it by train and public transport in less than an hour and half from Berlin. They have different kinds of pools inside and outside. I would like to give a plus point for the pool with underwater music and its relaxing atmosphere. I heard its textile-free for adults on Saturday. Make a phone call and reassure it before you head on to this beautiful oasis.
Farshad D — Google review
Super cool feelings during the winter time! There are lots of pool to chill inside and one of them in outside which is the coolest one! For 3 hours cost is 17 euro around, I paid in January 2020. They give a bracelet for entrance and locker to put your stuff safely. Only one thing was really annoying if you go there really busy time, after bathing when you’re exiting from the place you need to wait in the line to give your bracelet and for payment! It’s horrible system which I saw first time in my entirely life! Why they’re not taking money at the entrance and putting a box to want us to put bracelets... I didn’t expect from Germany sorry but disappointed.

I love coming here a lot, the only sad thing is that only Wednesday swimsuits allowed. I am not a big fan to be naked with strangers or to see naked people. But otherwise it’s great!
Maria B — Google review
Have been there many times. Most recently, today! 😊 As everyone says, this is a bad choice if you’re creeped out by nudity. Even on textile days, you’re gonna have to face that. Otherwise, I have to say the place changes character quite a lot depending on when you go. On this Monday evening, it was very chill. The warm pool with the swim-up bar is to die for. Worth the trek just for that! It’s also a solid 1/2 train ride from Berlin, then a 15 minute walk. Very doable, but just so you know!
Paul H — Google review
Pretty nice overall though a bit too crowded for my taste. Probably best to avoid Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends. Wide range of saunas but nothing too special. The food is hit or miss. The pasta dishes are terrible but the pizza was tasty and not too expensive.
Leon S — Google review
Awesome in winter. First suggestions: - Needs more infusion sessions. (At least 2 saunas at the same time. Especially in winter.) Pros: - Huge variety and huge pools are really awesome. - Really big facility. - Safe environment.
Shegg — Google review
I am a big fan of FKK culture and often swim naked at Lakes. I love the architecture, the water temperatures, the heavenly salt water pool outside at this place. However a recent visit was very unpleasant. Old and extremely cantankerous people patrol the pool and verbally assault anyone wearing a swim suit. My partner and son were uncomfortable being naked in the swimming pool and were therefore repeatedly harassed. The staff are mostly absent and horrible angry elderly grouches are allowed to assert ownership of this otherwise lovely place
Dorian H — Google review
The staff was super polite, the pools had joyful temperatures and sufficient sun loungers available. The restaurant offers a very good selection of light meals and a rich salad bar. We're looking forward to visiting the Wohlfühlterme again soon.
Rudolf T — Google review
We visited this place today. We travelled quite a long way to get here. It's a really great place to relax, no reason to regret it. We did not encounter any situations where the issue of nudity was not respected by other visitors. On Monday, we expected less traffic, but we were quite surprised. There were really a lot of people already at 10 a.m. I hope that rules here will be maintained and won't change. We'll definitely be back.
DukeNukem — Google review
I love this place and visit it every time I am back Home in Berlin for a visit. My Buddies and I just enjoy it very much. In the Summer you can relax outside and work on your Tan. The Food is very good and there are a lot of options. The Facilities are very clean and well Maintained. I get a Massage every time and it rounds out the experience for me. It's certainly a great way relax and forget what is going on. Especially in the current situation. I am glad that they where able to weather the Storm and survive. I love all the different Saunas and Steam Rooms. There is something to do for everybody. I love relaxing in the Pool by the Bar and enjoy a nice Beer with my friends. It's such a cool feature. I am not sure why people complain about this place being FKK/ You should perhaps do some research before going. There are days where you can go and be dressed. I guess being German it's not a big deal for me at. I am going to be back in Berlin in August for a few month and will for sure visit it several times while there. Keep up the great work and I look forward to my next visit. Danke Schoen. :)

Rüdersdorf Museum Park

Open air museum
Nature & Parks
Rüdersdorf Museum Park offers a range of attractions, including nature trails, a geology museum, and picnic spots. Visitors can take tours of an active limestone quarry and mine, where they can witness explosions for mining the limestone. The main museum area features old and new buildings, historical windmills, and a brewery. Guided tours are available for groups, providing in-depth knowledge about the site's history and geology.
Not only is a great historical place, the staff was friendly and interesting to talk to. Big plus that you can bring your bike in and tour inside the museum grounds. Makes it a bit quicker. There’s also a small river and places to sit on a side so you can chill after a long bike ride
Carlos C — Google review
I have had the pleasure of visiting Museumspark Rüdersdorf three times for festivals and countless times to decorate and Plan. Each visit has been a fantastic experience. The space is absolutely massive, offering endless room for creativity, whether you are hosting an open-air event, a festival, a retreat, or any type of gathering. The old factory serves as a stunning backdrop, adding character and atmosphere to any event. One of the best features is the on-site accommodation, which is super convenient for organizers and staff who need to stay longer. It is a great place to build your dream event. However, I have to mention that in the past year, the prices have risen significantly, which has been disappointing. This change makes it harder to give a full five-star rating. And the trash disposal could be organized better. Despite this, I still highly recommend the venue for its unique charm and potential.
M J — Google review
Big industrial park, I was surprised to see so many old buildings there. The ovens are really fascinating. One can get a lot of cool pictures and learn a lot from the exhibition.
Анна Т — Google review
We had a very nice pre-booked tour of the quarry. Guides were very knowledgeable and took their time especially with the children. They ensured the everyone found an exciting fossil at the dig! After induction and a tour in the museum we were driven in Landrovers to the dig. At 10 and 1330 you might be lucky to see the explosion for mining the limestone. Bring a little bucket and hardy shoes. Safety equipment and digging tools are provided.

City park
Tempelhofer Feld, also known as Templehof Field, is a former airport turned into a sprawling public park in Berlin. Steeped in history, it served as an airport and rally ground for the Nazis before playing a crucial role in the Berlin Airlift. Today, it offers vast open spaces with still-present runways that are perfect for activities like kite flying, biking, and community gardening.
This is a former airport and airfield, which have been decommissioned and preserved for free public use. The vastness and openness of the field impart a sense of freedom. People walk, cycle, roller skate, hang out, picnic, and generally enjoy themselves. We were lucky to see a rainbow at sunset on a warm July evening, which made the place even more enjoyable.
Mariana A — Google review
Tempelhofer Feld is one of those truly unique urban spaces that captures the spirit of Berlin perfectly. Once an airport, now transformed into a massive open park, it offers a refreshing and spacious escape from the city’s buzz — and yet it’s right in the heart of it. It’s the perfect place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon or to meet up with friends any day of the week. Whether you’re into cycling, skating, jogging, flying kites, or simply lying in the grass and enjoying the open sky, this place has it all. The scale of it alone is impressive — wide runways turned into tracks for anything on wheels, endless green areas for picnics or casual hangouts, and always a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. You can rent electric bikes, grab an ice cream or a drink from one of the small stands, or bring your own picnic and find your perfect spot. It’s clean, spacious, relaxed, and full of life — but never overcrowded. What makes it really special is the Berlin vibe: casual, creative, unpretentious. It’s not a typical tourist attraction, but definitely something you shouldn’t miss — a place that shows a different, more local side of the city. Tempelhofer Feld is not just a park, it’s an experience — and one that very few cities in the world can offer. Definitely worth a visit!
Luka G — Google review
Highly interesting Tour «Myths of Tempelhof« in English. It is quite a walk through that huge building. But we saw the historic airport structures and the airfield from unexpected angles and viewpoints. Our fantastic Tour guide shared a lot of facts but left enough time for requests and pics along the Tour. In two hours packed with amazing walk & talk we travelled through nine decades of Berlins history.
Ulrich D — Google review
Tempelhof is a fantastic multi-purpose, physical activity space, especially on a sunny day. Riding my bike freely across the vast open areas was incredibly refreshing and peaceful, far from city traffic. The park offers something for everyone, from sports to relaxation, making it a perfect urban escape. I highly recommend visiting to enjoy the unique sense of freedom and fresh air. Especially for the Neukölln, Tempelhof crowd :).

Treptower Park is a partly-forested riverfront park located in Alt Treptow, alongside the River Spree. It's an extension of Kreuzberg and features a pleasant riverside, the city's most striking Soviet memorial honoring 5,000 soldiers, and the adjacent Planterwald.
What a massive park. What amazing views, with such a historical importance too. there’s a little island in the middle of the park that I strongly recommend to visit. Perfect for running, yoga, picnic or just a calming walk too.

Good park for hanging out and small picnic. It's by the spree so one can enjoy the water view, beautiful Sky, Nature and greenery. You can also find benches, flowers and fountain. Good place for families and children to play

I observed a monument for Russian soldiers. This pathetic monument symbolizing victory of Soviet Union in WWII and all symbolic depicts Soviet and Russian propaganda about Russians as deliberators of Europe. So I had a complex feeling- from one point - it’s a quality piece of art, from the other side, it’s a disgusting sample of propaganda
Svetlana Z — Google review
If you are in Berlin, you should visit this place. The park is beautiful. It is full of paths for walkers and cyclists. You can cool off on hot days by the water in the shade of the trees. The only thing I don't like is the quote from Lenin and Stalin, which, in my opinion, spoils the overall impression a little. But overall, I recommend this place to everyone.
Jędrzej Z — Google review
A really beautiful park with plenty of space to relax. The lake is perfect for a short boat trip, and the small food stalls around the area are definitely worth trying. Sometimes there’s even an ice-cream stand open, which is a nice bonus. The overall vibe is calm and enjoyable, a great place to spend a few hours.

Fabulous park. Has a very moving memorial to the Russian soldiers who saved the East Berliners from the Nazis. Lovely cafe's and plenty to do. Has a river running through it.

Wide park with a touching but imposing memorial to the Red Army for their victory in the Second World War, it is a wonderful place to both remember history and have a moment to walk outside and relax. It lacks public lighting, so it is strongly recommended to avoid the park at night as it is pitch dark.

Tierpark Berlin is a sprawling zoo with diverse global animals housed in spacious enclosures. It goes beyond the typical zoo experience by featuring a dedicated farmyard area where children can interact with domestic farm animals and learn about their roles and care through educational tours. Unlike Zoo-Berlin, Tierpark allows dogs on a short leash, offering an entertaining park for them while visitors can observe polar bears, leopards, and giraffes.
I had a wonderful visit with my wife and baby daughter. The landscaping is relaxing, the animals spaced out just enough to make it feel almost natural to discover the next enclosure, and the food establishment enjoyable. Less crowded than the main zoo!
Leo K — Google review
Great zoo, very large so does take a lot of the day to walk around. Not too many food options were open when I was there so we had to walk back to the front area to eat and the lines were long. Plenty of toilets around the zoo so that was fine. There are a large amount of exhibits and a petting zoo which you can feed sheep. There is a great walk through exhibit which mimics a rain forest, it is very humid and hot in there for the animals so I would maybe avoid walking through if its a really hot day outside
Hannah — Google review
Red pandas are very cute! Unfortunately, the animal feeding time indicated on their map does not seem to be correct. We waited in the red panda area for twenty minutes on time but did not receive the staff. However, this zoo is very beautiful and very large, making it perfect for taking a walk on autumn weekends!
Juliet — Google review
A huge place so lovely big enclosures for most animals. Loads to see and they look well cared for. Clean and tidy! Only negative were that we felt the bird enclosures were quite small.
Nick L — Google review
It's so nice to see animals which have big areas to live in. Most of the animals were very playful. They were running, playing around, eating and very active. Polar bears were playing so lovely in the water. Same Red Pandas or Fingertier. This was such a lovely day full of happy animals. The park in itself is huge so I have to come back again, because one day is not enough.

Fantastic place for a day with family. We spent the whole Sunday with children. Its the best Zoo I have been to. It is kept very clean and animals have lots of space for themselves. Snow Leopards were the best

The Himalayas exhibit is beautiful, the best zoo area I have ever been in. I like that the Pallas Cats are the reward at the top of the mountain, but it's weird they don't list them as being there on the map or internet page. I wish they sold the prayer flags that decorate the area in the gift shop, they were so cute!
Shelly M — Google review
Great place, really huge we spent 4 hours and didn’t get round it all as it was closing time. I suggest using google maps for direction whilst in the park as the map you get makes very little sense. The billboards that state you at here need to have an arrow showing which way you can go.

The East Side Gallery is a preserved graffiti project covering a 1,316m-long remnant of the Berlin Wall in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. It celebrates the fall of the wall and features around 100 graffiti paintings by artists from all over the world.
A little way from the main tourist attractions, it’s a pleasant walk along the river Spree to see the longest remaining part of the Berlin Wall. 1.3 km in length, decorated by over 100 artists with short information boards along the way. Here you get a feel of what a divided city this was. Only the 3.6 m inner wall remains but add the boundary signal fence, 3m border fence and a watchtower every 600 meters to appreciate how separate both sides must have felt.
Linda — Google review
I had to visit this place for my 3 days in Berlin and it didn't disappoint! Iconic to Berlin. Some are a trip and some I didn't get, but if you run into those you can walk right past to a new piece. Information on the artists is listed in front of the artwork. Super cool. I went solo I don't think I would want to go as a group by going solo you can spend time enjoying the parts you like and take it at your own pace.

An iconic open-air gallery full of history, emotion, and creativity. Each mural tells a unique story — from freedom and unity to peace and hope. Walking along the wall is both thought-provoking and inspiring. A must-visit in Berlin for anyone who wants to feel the city’s soul through art.
Alfred N — Google review
East Side Gallery – An iconic open-air landmark An absolutely iconic spot. It’s the longest preserved section of the Berlin Wall, stretching for about 1.5 km along the riverbank. Essentially, it’s an open-air museum showcasing creative, impactful, and often thought-provoking wall art from various artists. It’s definitely worth a visit, as it gives you a strong sense of what the divided city once looked and felt like. The artworks are unique, symbolic, and visually striking. It's also a great place for those classic “Berlin” hype photos. Many murals even include QR codes that provide background information about each piece. A small warning: the area is very busy and there are quite a few pickpockets around. Just keep an eye on your belongings so that this otherwise great experience isn’t spoiled. Overall, a must-see in Berlin.
Christos S — Google review
The East Side Gallery offers a wonderful walking experience filled with vibrant, amazing murals that vividly capture the history and spirit of Berlin. The artwork not only celebrates freedom but also includes clean, powerful graffiti that traces the story of the Berlin Wall dividing East and West Germany.Beyond the murals, the park behind the wall provides a peaceful and picturesque spot to relax after the walk, making the entire visit both culturally enriching and refreshing. It’s a must-see for anyone interested in history, art, and the unique atmosphere of Berlin.

As the history of Berlin is very dictated by the wall that separated it, very good to see it and easy to imagine how it would feel for the people living in the same city but separated from this giand wall. Also i liked that in the park nearby was a lot a people who were chilling, playing and having fun 🌞

It was amazing to see the Berlin Wall up close, covered in murals that are not just beautiful but also carry powerful messages. For me it had historic moments to things that still feel relevant today. The walk isn’t too long, and every few steps there’s another piece of art that makes you stop and think. Definitely worth visiting.

I really enjoyed looking across at all the art and little tags locals and others had made on the wall, took plenty of photos. One thing that did irritate me slightly was the amount of attention the picture of the two men kissing got was ridiculous, also it was so crowded at this specific picture that it was almost impossible to take a photo of it and even walk past it, people by this specific picture were also very rude pushing others out of the way. It really upsets me because so many of the other pictures barely had any attention when I would argue there were so much nicer than the one stated above

Stasi Museum

The Stasi Museum, located in the former headquarters of the Stasi, offers a compelling insight into the operations of the notorious East German secret police during the Cold War. Visitors can explore original spying equipment and archives while gaining an understanding of how the Stasi influenced all aspects of life in East Germany. The museum also provides access to Erich Mielke's offices, offering a glimpse into one of the most feared figures in communist East Germany.
While this is not one of the most beautiful sites to see in Berlin, it is an interesting place that is housed within the walls of history itself. These were the original headquarters of the Stasi itself and the museum offers a good insight into the operations and activities of an omni present state oversight department. A high light of a trip for any historian.

For history buffs, the Stasi Museum is an absolute must. Housed in the former espionage headquarters of the DDR, it offers a fascinating collection of photographs, artifacts, and—perhaps most compelling—original rooms once used by the secret service. You can easily spend hours exploring everything it has to offer.

This incredibly immersive museum does an excellent job of demonstrating the reach, power, and aims of the DDR’s Stasi repressive domestic intelligence agency. The exhibits highlight the stories of those who either willingly or were compelled to cooperate with the Stasi, as well as the techniques and methods the agency and its head Erich Mielke utilized to maintain control until the collapse of communism in 1990.

The Stasi Museum in Berlin is a place of reflection and learning. It presents East Germany’s history with care, emphasising both the political realities and the personal experiences of those who lived under the Stasi. The building, the offices, and the rooms provide a humbling encounter with history.

Excellent museum if you’re a history buff. The original rooms are great and really captures the mood. The €1 upsell to allow you to take photos inside is a fairly ironic annoyance considering this place’s past.

Very good museum, great how they still have everything in original state. Educational, I thought I knew all, but learned alot.

Very interesting museum. It felt strange to walk the same halls as former Stasi officers but also was very immersive, and neat how well preserved everything was- down to the chairs and paintings on the walls. I came with my university class and we had such a great tour from our tour guide. I forget his name but I am sure they are all as great as him.

Great museum, if you are interested in this kind of topic. I could join a group with a guide and it was even better, spend 2 hours in the guided walk, but you could spend much more time there.

The Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial is a museum and memorial located in Lichtenberg, Berlin. It was originally a site used by the Nazis and later transformed into a remand prison by the Soviets, known as Special Encampment No.3, which was further expanded by the Stasi.
Great history lesson. And if you are of a certain age, a lot of it happened in your own lifetime. Brutal treatment by the Russians after the war, and then in more recent times by the communist German secret police. Very interesting tour led by historian Andreas Ott, who escaped the east when only 19. Some of the other tour guides had experience as prisoners here. Tour lasts around 2 hours. Some great tales told. Well worth the trip out to the east end.

The location can only be visited with a guide and tours are available at fixed hours. They have guides available in: German and English. The visit was beautiful, the guide was ok, with many explanations. The tour lasts about 2 hours. You are allowed to take pictures and film inside. The cost is 9 euros. It was worth the whole tour. I recommend. 👍

The whole memorial area is a very educational location, great to share and spread awareness on the atrocities of the Nazi regime. Not for the faint hearted. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, get snacks, & most importantly pick a guide that's passionate; I was lucky to have Paul from Get your Guide, who gave us the nitty gritty details of the whole camp and it's history.

Good place to remember an important part of our history, it does a good job of putting the crimes of the Stasi into context. Tours are lead by contemporaries and former inmates, very nice and informative guides. When i visited, the weather really sucked but otherwise it’s a well designed visitor center with a decent bookstore.

A former Stasi prison for political prisoners, shown around by Hans Schreider a former political prisoner, very knowledgeable and a very moving visit.

Impressive visit, thanks to the decor that brings you straight back to DDR days and especially thanks to the tour guide that himself had to spend years in the prison. Must visit when in Berlin.

This tour was the highlight of our time in Berlin. Our guide, Johannes, was extraordinary — deeply passionate and able to convey the history of the prison in a way that was powerful and moving. He led us through what life was like for prisoners, from the early, horrific conditions to the later era of psychological torment. It’s not an easy visit, but it’s an incredibly important and unforgettable one.

Our tour guide was such a brilliant and respectful teacher about the GDR, the Stasi, and the prison itself. I deeply wish I could remember his name, but he led the English tour and has a beard and glasses if that helps. I knew very little about the Stasi before attending a the tour and our guide allowed us to ask questions and also encouraged us to reflect on how we can protect human rights in the present day.
