This forest is like a rainforest!! As it’s completely different from jaldapara national park! Gorumara forest is a dense forest and completely green!! The scenery really really soothes the soul! In my opinion Must visit this place! And lose yourself in the lap of nature!!

Tourist trap. Through and through. For the Matla Tower: You must pay for a guide who only talks when you ask questions. You pay for the jeep driver to drive and talk to the guide. You’re obligated to pay for a bullock cart ride, who takes you the remaining distance to the tower, even though the jeep could’ve done that. You see some bison licking a salt lick that the locals placed. You see some captive elephants. Maybe you see a peacock and some deer… Seems very uncommon that people see rhinos. The price is still low, but visiting a zoo would be a better use of time. I should add, we planned to do a safari, but staff at the ticket counter convinced us we’d see more wildlife with the tower because it goes into the park whereas the safari apparently skirts the outside of the park? Who knows- a group at our hotel went on the 6am safari and said they only saw a baby peacock. 🤷‍♂️

Great experience on a safari . Did the 3:30 pm jeep safari followed by the cultural show where members of the Tribal groups perform their dances. For the cost, I would have liked the jeep safari to be longer and waits at the lookout points to be longer. Just paused for 10 mins and since there were no animals , we moved on. Safaris involve waiting and watch in and I felt hurried.

Okay, Gorumara is straight-up old-school jungle safari in West Bengal. The main flex here is spotting the Indian one-horned rhino, which is a rare vibe check. You definitely gotta book an elephant or jeep safari if you wanna see the real action, like bison and deer. Solo traveler-wise, it's super structured—you gotta have a guide and follow the park timings, which is actually safer when you're out alone. The lookouts, espcly the one near the Murti River, are fire for watching the rhinos hang out. It's not a place for aimless wandering, but for intentional wildlife sightings. The accommodation options outside the park gate are chill. Pro-tip: Go in the dry season for the clearest sightings. Vibe: Structured jungle immersion, rhino hunting with a camera.

We went there at 4.30am. there were already around 50 cars and hundreds of tourists present before us. There is no observatory here. You just pick a spot and hope to see the view of the mountains especially The Kanchanjunga. If it's a cloudy day then you won't. Pick a place near the North East corner so that you can see the sunrise and the mountain together. There's an under construction building where you can sit as well. There are a few vendors who serve momo, maggie and some tea. TIP : Ask your driver to park the car far so that you can get out of the place soon. Or else it'll take easily around 45 -60 mins just to come out of the traffic jam.

And luckily, there was zero fog 😭 Kanchenjunga looks so BEAUTIFUL and MESMERIZING when the first rays of sun falls on it. It gives a pinkish, orangish, yellowish colour. It was so DREAMY! I loved exploring Hong Kong Market in Siliguri it’s a lively street market with trendy clothes, bags, footwear and cute accessories. The prices are super affordable and bargaining makes it even more fun. The lanes are a bit crowded but that’s the charm of street shopping. I wouldn’t really recommend visiting in hot weather it’s better to go in the evening when it’s cooler. It's totally a must-visit for fashion lovers

Also, visiting during the breeding season (July to November) is highly recommended for a richer experience. Overall, Kulik Bird Sanctuary is a gem in West Bengal and an excellent spot for a day trip. Whether you are a bird enthusiast, a photographer, or simply looking to unwind amidst nature, this sanctuary won’t disappoint.

Very nice & calm environment except for occasional car honks from the road side. One toilet is available at the entrance. Entrance is 120 per person. No dustbin present in the entire forest, pathetic! No such animal except for few birds & 2 deers but, it's a good place to spend some time with your loved ones. Full of couples, so go prepared lol.

Big and nice forest. So many bird species are here in season. Big bats are here so be careful. Please don't throw plastics anywhere in this forest . Aquarium also big here. Best season to go is in winter.

Beautiful place in close proximity of Raiganj town in Uttar Dinajpur district, West Bengal, India. The particular locality name is Kulik. It is one of the largest bird sanctuary in Asia, famous for migratory birds, specially Open Bill Stork 🕊️. Every year just after the monsoon (June End to Mid July) the birds start gathering in the sanctuary and creates a beautiful scenario for the nature lovers. Once arrived, the birds stay upto end Feb or Mid March. They come, lay eggs 🥚, give birth to the children's 🐣 and once they learn to fly, the family goes back to their home. The number sometimes reaches a lakh (100000) and the lush green trees literally become white with the birds. A treat to eyes. Beside the migratory birds, the sanctuary has a huge lake inside- ideal for some photography, fresh and salt water fish aquarium🐟🐠, a bluebuck (Nil Gai) 🦌, Owls 🦉, Bats 🦇, Tortoise 🐢 and last but not the least a huge variety of trees 🌳🌴🌱 The park opening and closing time is 8 am and 5 pm respectively in summer months. Entry fee for Adult Indian person is Rs. 40/-

Vikramshila is a fascinating historical site, offering insights into ancient India's rich cultural and educational heritage.

Historical Archeological place to visit. There is an entree fee of Rs 25 for Indians and Rs.300 for Foreigners/Non-Indians. The best time to visit is during the winter season from November to February. As the place is fully open during summer time it is hot and no shade. There is not much to see in the ruins . It is also somewhat hard to reach here. Nearest airport is Patna or Deoghar which are approx 300km aways . Nearest station is Vikramshila where many trains doesn't stop so nearest is Bhagalpur station which is 40km.aways but take 2 hrs to reach here. As per Archeological Survey of India the excavation of the site is complete. There is museum of excavated items here .

Vikramshila university is one of the ancient Place of india . This is also known as knowledge centre.Vikramshila University had a large campus, and its faculty was famous for producing many prominent scholars. The university was destroyed in the 12th century by the forces of Bakhtiyar Khilji, along with Nalanda, during the Islamic invasions of India. Today, the site of Vikramshila University is an archaeological site located near Bhagalpur in Bihar. It is considered an important historical and cultural landmark related to India's educational heritage.

Basukinath dham visit is too good, I have visited after so many years, here every thing has been changed, like its arrangement for queue is too good. I have take darshan in only 3 hours and its experience is marvellous..

Shree Baba Basukinath Shivlinga is indeed a Swayambhu Shivlinga, which means it is a self-manifested linga. The linga is named after a farmer named Basu, who was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and his devotion pleased the deity. In ancient times, the area now known as Basukinath was called Daruk forest and was facing a severe drought. Basu's devotion and prayers moved Lord Shiva to reside in the area, bringing much-needed rains to the parched land. The Basukinath Temple is indeed considered a twin temple of Baba Baidyanath, and its location next to the Jarmundi hamlet adds to its serene and picturesque surroundings. According to Hindu legend, a trip to Baba Baidyanath is considered incomplete without stopping at the Basukinath Temple. The connection between the two temples is deeply rooted in Hindu mythology and tradition. Devotees often visit both temples as part of their pilgrimage, seeking blessings and spiritual fulfillment.

One the most sacred, ancient and famous temples in Bihar/Jharkhand. However it's not Jyotirling but this temple has a lot of importance. Situated at the heart of Basukinath city, it's very near to Dumka and Deoghar. If you are going to Deoghar for Jyotirling darshan, it's mandatory to visit this place. Arrangements are not that great and also you have to be in the queue for darshan, but you should visit here at least once.

Even though the temple gets crowded, especially during peak hours, there’s a strong sense of discipline and faith among the devotees. Seeing the faith of people who walk miles for just one touch of devotion is profoundly touching. I would like to express my gratitude to Baba Kedar, who has always made my darshan experience more beautiful than ever before. The Rudra Abhishek was truly incredible. Thank you, Baba Kedar. The main Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva radiates an energy that words can’t describe — you just have to experience it. I also visited the nearby temples, and each one carried its own charm and serenity. Deoghar itself has a simple yet spiritual vibe. Locals are warm and helpful, and there are enough food and stay options around the temple area. Baba Baidyanath Dham is one of 12 Jyotirlingas located in Deogarh, Jharkhand. You can reach here from Jasidih Station which is well connected with major stations like Patna, Ranchi, Howrah etc. Thousands of devotees come here everyday offering prayers. The queue is long on any given day and you can get direct entry to the temple by buying a pass for ₹300. Try to visit Basukinath as well if you have time which is located approximately 50 Kms from Baba Baidyanath which holds equal significance. P.S.- Be aware of the Pandas as they are present everywhere and they will try to get as much money from you wherever possible.

Love being near baba baidyanath. That inner peace and happiness is just very unexpressable. Some management issues inside the garbh gruh near shivling due to public, hard to do the jalabhishek and darshan of baba ji but otherwise everything is good. The spiritual energy and vibes at babadham is crazy.

This issue seems prevalent in many Indian temples. I humbly request the temple trust or government to intervene and regulate these practices, ensuring a peaceful and genuine worship experience for all devotees. Clear guidelines and transparency would help eliminate confusion and allow devotees to focus on their spiritual journey. However, plan your visit wisely as the temple remains closed from 1 PM to 2 PM so avoid this time to prevent unnecessary waiting. The temple is located about 2.5 km from Tower Chowk making it easily accessible by auto-rickshaw or a short drive. A must-visit if you're in Deoghar!

Nestled amidst tranquil surroundings about 1.5 km from the famous Baba Baidyanath Dham, this temple is not just an architectural delight but also a peaceful haven for seekers of solitude and devotion. The Story Behind the Name Before visiting, I was intrigued by the temple’s unique name — Naulakha. The word itself means nine lakh, and the temple is said to have derived its name from the fact that a devout queen, Rani Charushila of Pathuria Ghat, Kolkata, spent an astounding nine lakh rupees to build this beautiful shrine in the early 20th century. The temple was constructed in memory of her beloved husband and son, which makes the place even more touching and soulful. This touching story of love, loss, and devotion was something I read about beforehand and felt deeply while standing inside the temple premises. The Journey to the Temple Deoghar, often referred to as the ‘City of Temples’, has a spiritual vibe that envelopes you the moment you arrive. After offering prayers at the renowned Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, we decided to take a rickshaw ride to Naulakha Mandir. The short journey was pleasant, with greenery and glimpses of local life on both sides of the road. Unlike the usually crowded main temple, Naulakha Mandir remains relatively calm and less commercialized, which was exactly what I was looking for. First Impressions As we approached the temple, its pristine white structure stood out against the clear blue sky, almost like a jewel in a crown. From a distance, the temple’s architecture bears a striking resemblance to the Ramakrishna Temple in Belur Math, which is no coincidence as it was inspired by the same style. The peaceful surroundings, gentle breeze, and the distant chants from nearby temples created an atmosphere that instantly calmed the mind. Architectural Beauty Standing 146 feet tall, the Naulakha Mandir is built mainly of marble and granite. The main sanctum houses a beautiful idol of Radha-Krishna, radiating a sense of eternal love and divinity. The temple is built on a raised platform, which one can reach by climbing a flight of wide steps. Intricate carvings adorn the walls, and the detailed craftsmanship speaks volumes about the artisans of that era. Despite being over a century old, the temple is well-maintained and shines immaculately under the sun. One thing I particularly admired was how the temple is surrounded by lush green gardens and flowering plants. There are benches where one can sit, relax, and soak in the serenity. I sat there for a good half an hour, listening to the chirping of birds and observing the slow life around me — an experience that felt like meditation in itself. A Spiritual Pause Inside the sanctum, the atmosphere is serene and the air heavy with devotion. The priest offered flowers and blessed us. Unlike the bustling crowd of the Baidyanath Dham, here I had ample time to offer prayers, sit quietly, and reflect without any rush or disturbance. It felt like a personal moment with the divine, an experience that is becoming rare in most famous pilgrimage sites nowadays. Local Insights and Friendly Locals While resting under the shade of a tree within the temple complex, I struck up a conversation with an elderly local devotee. He shared stories about the queen who built the temple, the traditions that continue to this day, and how the temple becomes even more vibrant during Janmashtami and Radha Ashtami. His warmth and pride in sharing the temple’s history added a beautiful human touch to my visit. This picture perfect waterfalls is situated near Giridh district, Jharkhand. And 300km distance from kolkata. Road condition is very good and well maintained towards usri falls. You can enjoy the lush greenery and small hills around the area. But there is no hotel and restaurant near usri falls so better you can go there by your own vehicle. There is a also parking lot .. during monsoon this falls become giant . . But for safety reason and avoid the goons please come back from this place before sunset.

The falls is nice, located in a remote area, covered by greenery. I am not going to write a cliche review, rather let's put some valuable information. 1) The road to Usri falls is awesome, with some hidden speed breakers here and there. Recommended to come in your own vehicle. There's a paid parking spot near the falls. 2) I thought the best time to visit the falls might be on monsoon, but the locals tipped to visit in winters, Dec-Jan. 3) For bachelors: you might wanna go upstream and have a bath. Local boys enjoy their mini picnics there. 4) There's no hotel or restaurant adjacent to the falls. There's a place called "Chatro", 3-4 km from the falls where you will find dhabas. 5) Locals informed us to leave the place before sunset, avoiding goons.

Nice place but picnic activity have done lot of littering. Commin people need to be aware of the cleanliness and hygiene. Please dont litter the place, carry a garbage bag and once picnic finished, may collect the garbage and dump in a dedicated place. Stones are slippery need to be extra cautious. Have a parking place and some local snacks stalls. Overall good.

Usri Falls is a picturesque waterfall located about 13 kilometers east of Giridih town in Jharkhand, India. It's formed by the Usri River, a tributary of the Barakar River, as it flows down a steep gorge, splitting into three separate streams. The falls are known for their serene environment, surrounded by dense forests and unique gneissic rock formations. The area has been developed as a tourist spot, offering amenities like seating areas and pathways for visitors to enjoy the waterfall from various vantage points.

Please do not visit on monsoon and rainy season. If you want to visit in monsoon be aware & please don't go to the near of water falls . many people are dead every year for taking selfies and videos. Be careful

Good place for visit with family

Auspicious place for Jain community. Lot of scenic views, devotees all around the place. One can go uphill on foot or can opt for Doli, ~27KM journey. One gets immersed with nature's serenity. No mobile networks atop hill. Lot of monkeys around. People start the journey early morning and return back by noon or evening. Climbing up the hill on foot is a challenging task it's ~9KM, another 9KM is the visits to various tonks with various ups and down throughout the landscape of the hill and remaining to climb down.

The holy place for Jain's, situatied in state of Jharkhand, district - Giridih which is also famous for oldest coalfiled of India. One can reach this place by train - by getting down at Parasnath Railway Station and travel by a taxi which should be booked in advance for hassle free travel. ( We paid ₹500/- for one way travel for a family of 6 members & around 8 bags of luggage) En-route to the parasnath mountain, the roads are pretty good and CRPF camp is also set up there. Advise is to travel in the day and avoid travelling after dark. Once you reach the foothills of the mountain, plenty of places to stay, lots of bhavans etc. The food is available in the places you stay and also outside restuarants which serve pure vegetarian food at a good price and taste. The journey to the hills and back is a lifetime experience, which will take you inside out and everyone should go through this. Jai Jinendra 🙏

One of the best treck from of my life. You can treck here with bike and another is obviously by your foot. It is the highest peak where main temple is situated. You will love to watch whole surrounding via road only for pediatrics. Must visit place. It's awesome.

Hazaribagh Jheel, or Hazaribagh Lake, is a collection of man-made lakes right in the center of Hazaribagh town in Jharkhand. Built by the British back in 1831 while they were constructing the central jail, these lakes were created from big craters left after clay extraction. The lake system has seven sections, each at varying heights, which lets water flow from one lake to another through spill channels. This impressive piece of engineering not only helps with water conservation but also creates a beautiful spot for both locals and visitors. Hazaribagh Jheel is a favorite picnic destination and offers boating options. The third lake, the largest of the bunch, is the perfect place to catch stunning sunrises and sunsets.

Take a walk and be one with nature. With good shoes and a good mood, it would take about half an hour for a female to take one round. But it's worth the time. Some lotus, some water lilies, some palms and water plants, make a romantic tale of nature. Do visit if in town, it has the aura to calm you down.

Evening is beautiful , soothing and peaceful but needs a lot of improvement. There were no dusbins when I visited and found some lack of maintanence. This can be more beautiful if there would be more cement benches with clean stairs.

This place is located in a remote area of jharkhand, beside the Damodar river. Scenery of this place is attractive and one must visit in the winter to fully enjoy the nature. A very good place for Spirituality inclined person. To visit the temple you have to wait in the queue for 10 to 15 minutes depending upon the crowd. But sorry to say that accommodation facility is poor. You need to come back after offering Puja.

Make-sure you carry water, and please don’t go on Sunday mostly on holidays and ,if than make sure you come early around 5 am.

Chhinnamastika mandir is a temple dedicated to Goddess Chinnamastika. This is an important Hindu pilgrimage centre for people from Jharkhand, Bihar and Bengal. Located in Rajrappa, the temple is easily accessible by road from Ranchi. The temple follows tantrik practices and the Goddess is associated with blood. Live goats are beheaded here daily as sacrifice. The temple is very popular and it may take more than an hour in queue for darshan - so prepare accordingly. I read somewhere that this temple is over 6000 years old!

Here The Goddes Kali is worshipped as Devi Chinamastika. 📌It attracts a lot of people from Bihar, West Bengal,and neighboring States. It's worth a visit.there is an amazing peace around the temple😇. there are myths which make this temple more mysterious and strange.☢️ Sensitive people need to close their eyes while entering the main temple as the sight of blood on the flooring might disturb them☢️. The kids need to be handled carefully as this place remains crowded throughout the year.❣️

Beautiful place for both the spiritual tourists and the nature lovers. The nature lovers might be a bit irritated in the market area in close proximity of the temple , because that area is a bit chaotic , lots of shops selling puja items , ful of dirt and mud ... But once you cross that area you will get the view of the confluence of Damodar and Bhairavi river which is locally known as Bhera river. One can avail the boat ride which goes very close to the confluence .

The place has improved a lot. There's a restaurant now which serves excellent food with a varied menu and excellent service. A well- maintained rose garden and lawn is also a good place to spend some time. The boating experience is awesome. Small shops selling knick knacks, snacks, and items used for worshipping the Hindu gods are all over. If you want to avoid the crowds, choose to be there in the afternoon.. the peace of the campus would refresh the soul.

Witnessed this waterfall in full glory but due to that not able to get into the pool for a dip as currents were too strong. It closes by 5PM and the ticket counter closes by 4PM

It’s really beautiful although we were here on a gloomy day but the water flow was intense. The fall is quite heightened. And there is a small track you have to do till the waterfall i.e around 1 km downslope stairs. The waterfall is very beautiful and the crowd is decent make sure you return back to ranchi the same day as there is no hotels nearby for staying.

Visited Hundru Falls recently, and it was an absolutely breathtaking experience! 🌊✨ The waterfall is truly majestic, surrounded by lush greenery and scenic beauty that makes it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. The sound of the falling water and the cool breeze create such a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. The place is well worth the visit, especially during or just after the monsoon when the flow is at its best. However, visitors should be cautious while walking near the rocks as they can be slippery. A little improvement in cleanliness and basic facilities around the area would make the experience even better. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable trip — a perfect escape into nature’s beauty! 🌿💦

The walk was quite long nonetheless. This is mostly because we missed to hire a buggy at the entrance (highly recommended if you are with kids and elderly). The park is very neat and clean other than the usual animal smell nothing else. Considering the weather and heat, we felt The Black Bear was more welcoming than others 🤫😬. I know that my kid enjoyed the walk in the zoo. The timing to visit I felt like entry by 10:15/10:30 and exit by 01:00/01:30 PM to be ideal with kids and elderly. Carry water and small snacks but make sure to use dustbins when done. Variety of birds, animals and reptiles are in the zoo. Overall I will say a good experience. Nice place to visit with family and friends. There are so many wild animal available . E van , and clean toilet ,zoo cafeteria available hear . In summer must carry an umbrella water . One of the gems of Ranchi. Situated at NH on Ranchi Patna Road. It’s also called the Ormanjhi Zoo. Has ample Parking space. We booked the tickets online, can be purchased on counter too. I preferred this to avoid the queue however there wasn’t any rush as such. Inside you get battery operated cars which can be booked at 300/-. There is waiting always for the same. Keep half an hour as wait period for this. In terms of animals and condition of the park - it’s really well kept and maintained. Very good experience for kids and adults too. There is a snake world inside, don’t miss that.. :)

The visit was not of good taste.we 4 Adults and 2 children aged 4 & 2 years reached at 3=30 PM. The moment we reached at the entrance Gate,A loud sound frightened us Which was due to fall of DRY BRANCH of Tall Dry Tree standing just near the First Turn of the Entrance Gate.By GOD Grace We escaped unhurt for few inches. The intensity of impact can be gauged by the bend Corrugated sheet nearby . We made an Entry and went straight for hiring vehicle at around 3=35 PM Where we got another as No vehicle was available.Enquiry revealed that only 3 small vehicles are plying and rest are under Breakdown including the Big one.We somehow managed to walk a little with 2 small children and left disappointed.

Very good park to visit. Here you can see many type of birds like ostrich,kiwi,white duck,black buck etc and many types of animals like elephant,lion, beer, crocodile , alligator etc . You need atleast 2 hours to visit all places of park. Here a dhaba is also available where you can eat but little expensive. Such a great experience to visit. Atleast you should visit once in your life.

Its a zoo + nature park + botanical garden + children's amusement park + wildlife reserve, rescue. Everything in one place. And best of all the location, extremely easy to get there via nh 33. Been here dozens of time and yesterday went with people from my hometown. Everyone had the best time. Boating for some reason wasn't available this time. But white tiger is the latest feature of this place. Must visit if you're coming to Ranchi. And yes do come in light clothing. You will have to walk a lot, 5-6 kms easily, although a golf cart sevice is also there but I don't recommend it. Don't be lazy while you're out to enjoy :)

This place is perfect for a day trip. The beautiful, wide, and winding roads through the valley make for a scenic drive. From the viewpoint, you'll have a stunning panoramic view of the entire city. You can easily get some snacks and Puchkas here. If you’re going with your friends you can plan for a short hike.

Potratu Valley is about 35 km far from Ranchi railway station or 30 km from Ranchi Town.The road is made up of hairpin bends which are very adventurous. A clean, smooth and clear road. This valley is in Ranchi kanke road. You may go in the morning or afternoon for best view.
