Worth seeing, the gardens, the giant maze, the coffee shop and souvenirs shop. Colette was an extraordinary woman, artist and French figure of her era. The 2019 movie traces her story and this Garden and Maze will be a great discovery if you are into literature or just willing to learn more about Colette and life in her time. The Maze was great fun, we did it during the summer and it was tricky to get out. A super fun moment also the giant games in the garden!!! Let's be kids again!

An excellent venue for all the family to enjoy. Flowers and shrubs are clearly labelled and reflect the various locations where she lived. The impact of the site obviously varies according to the season. Lots of play areas for the children and a good cafe with friendly staff.

As a huge Collette fan who has never read any of her work, and if I'm honest had no idea who she was before I came here, coming to this garden was a great way to get to know my mysterious literary hero. She had a Dog, (I'm also a huge fan of the dog, and have also never read it's work, or smelled it's pee) she loved goats... She may have spent some time in Morocco? She um... Did Lazer style obstacle courses and I think was crazy into Jenga. Perhaps her books will reveal more. Perhaps if I learn french I will finally understand what it is to mix the masculine with a soft feminine touch of glamour. Perhaps I can be worthy of a dog's love. Time is an illusion in the garden. The crepes were nice and there was enough weird stuff in the gift shop to keep my seven year old happy. For a fleeting moment. ENJOY!

Lovely chateau up high .. fab views. Restoration currently happening which means there’s scaffolding & a crane which somewhat ruins the views (2025). Went to lovely bistro for a salad & pizza in the square. Take caution as to which road you take in for car park .. approach via turenne Garde .. avoid driving through small centre.

Not a lot on show. Three rooms plus a gift shop in the castle, and a 65 step climb up a very narrow spiral staircase to the top of a tower at the end of the small but interesting garden. Great views. There are much better castle experiences in the area.

Nice castle on top of the hill. After paying €7.90 entry you can have a look inside two of the castles rooms with some info and see work of a contemporary exhibition (AI-generated art). The garden and it’s views are beautiful. If you want to go up the tower beware a lot of flies, someone really needs to do something about it + some sort of system of who goes up and who down would be needed. It’s not pleasent to wait on the top for quite some time while hundreds of flies try to eat you.

Lovely village to visit for a couple of hours, the chateau on the hill is impressive and worth a visit a couple of nice restaurants but itt was quite at the end of September.

There was a concert from Dalia Lazar and and an excellent buffet afterwards… really a nice place to visit !

Interesting vibrant Saturaday market with great varietyof produce on sale. Can be very crowded and pricey. A bit of tourist trap I suspect. Difficult to find parking and paid parking near to market is very costly.

An excellent Wednesday morning market with a huge variety of local produce, all good quality. Forget the clothing, it is mostly cheap and uninteresting. You see the samr things at every market.

The video explaining the architecture of Château de Beynac was excellent. The accompanying app provided an audio guide and the narrative about Queen Eleanor and her son, King Henry, enriching the experience. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, offering a unique perspective reminiscent of the monarchy, where you feel as if you’re overlooking the entire land, inspiring a sense of responsibility to protect it. From this vantage point, you can also see the nearby Castelnaud-la-Chapelle Castle. The entrance fee is quite reasonable, making this visit even more worthwhile. Highly recommend!

Château de Beynac is stunning—basically the Beyoncé of castles. The views will wreck you (in a good way), and the stairs will leave you breathless along with the view. Worth it. Also, the castle was basically for a woman who had two husbands bc she could. Iconic

The most amazing Château we have been to yet! Well worth the trip, just make sure you park up top and not on river like we did. It's a very steep, but beautiful walk up the path if you want some exercise tho.

One of the most impressive castles in the Périgord. Majestic, its location remains breathtaking and its panorama exceptional. Indeed, this incredible medieval fortress, perched on its golden cliff, overlooks the Dordogne River from over 150 meters above sea level. A true movie set ! A tour of the castle will take you from the 12th-century keep to the majestic Salle des Etats, ending at the top of the Éperon Tower, where you'll overlook the valley just as the Beynac family, to whom the building belonged for nearly 1,000 years, did. From there, the view over the Valley of the Five Castles is superb ! When leaving the castle, we've visit the church, whose stately lodge is open to the public.

What an incredible castle. This ancient castle sits above the Dordogne Valley with an ancient 12th century village on the surrounding hillside. No guides, just enjoy at your own pace. A must see if you are in the area.

A wonderful place which is beautifully preserved and enhanced with interactive experiences including audio guides in multiple languages and an informative slide show. Visited on a beautifully sunny day in November, no crowds and plenty of time and space to explore.

A magnificent location with wonderful views, an incredible sculpted garden and plenty to explore. We took an afternoon to get our and enjoy some nature after a few days of taking in the well known historical sites in the area. It was a fine weather day, and we very much enjoyed a leisurely afternoon in these grounds. The views are far reaching, the paths calming and very well maintained, and called off with a nice restaurant just above the entrance or, along the patna ways, a creperie. The chateau in the grounds was an unexpected highlight, with some interesting history and several displays about the link between the owner and the illustrator of the Michelin Man. A must see for all

A wonderful part of the Dordogne. There is plenty of parking and the approach to the manor house gives you an idea of the creativity of the gardeners who shape the box hedges into fantastic arrangements. The walk along the ridge has quite a few pathways and also some fun things for kids. It is a long walk and so many vistas to explore. The restaurant is good but pricey. €6.50 for a finger of lemon juice in a glass and a jug of water. It’s was refreshing though.

Brilliant gardens. Nice house and wonderful views over the Dordogne River and valley especially from the Belvedere viewpoint. Wonderful sights of wild cyclamen (it was autumn) throughout.

This was so much fun! Kids loved the adventure of the paths lined with hedges too. Felt like something out of a story book. This was pram accessible the whole way too. Some parts easier than others. We had ice cream and coffee at the tea house and it was delicious.

Fabulous gardens. Great views of the countryside. Plenty of exercise, bring water bottles. My ten year old daughter loved it, treated it like an adventure to discover hidden areas, and wants to go back next year. Once you've admired the topiary go into the chateau to watch a video about the gardners' work.

We went anticipating a 1-2 hour visit. My partner and children (4 and 8) ended up spending most of the day there while I went to deal with an issue with our car that took much longer than expected. No one complained because there was so much to see and do! The only tips: the rock climbing wall for children is only in the AM, the via ferrata requires fully closed shoes (eg. Not Keens), and children requiring two accompanying adults.

An ABSOLUTELY impressive multi faceted immersive experience!! Not to be missed! The whole castle from room to room offered museum quality examples of weapons armour. A few areas had repeating audiovisual stories about construction of siege equipment, and how to make armour. One area was a theatre. There was a live blacksmith , a person who explained and fired a trebuchet. Another explained weapons use and gave kids some basic sword training using props. Probably the best EVER historic site I’ve been to !! Well worth the money and drive to see!!

Very beautiful castle, especially recommended for a visit with children! In the various exhibition rooms, in addition to the elements on display, there were also small Playmobil exhibitions, so that the children could also enjoy the visit! The castle itself is beautiful, really well preserved and offers phenomenal views of the valley and river in the area. At the end of the visit (small signs help you to navigate everything, even without a guide) you will find a small tower room for children with books about castles, knights and the like, as well as Playmobil toys, where the children can play and read! Really amazing, the kids loved it! The children also loved the costumes that were available in an exhibition room. You could choose something from a range of medieval clothing and then sit on a throne provided and take your photo (free of charge, but you take the photos yourself, of course). A wonderful idea! I would definitely recommend a visit for families, but without a stroller, as you can leave one in a designated area in front of the castle. The only thing I didn't like so much, and that's not the castle's fault, was that in winter only one restaurant was open, the one right next to the castle, and unfortunately they weren't good and a bit expensive for what you get. Otherwise, highly recommended!

A rewarding view and experience for a slightly hard uphill hike. Can drive up, but part of the experience is the walk up! The restaurants around the top are really terrible so I'd suggest either bringing a picnic or going back down to eat.

To me, this is a castle and not a chateau. Therefore don't expect fancy furniture and artwork. However, if you like your medieval weapons, then this is a good place to visit.

Beautiful cave with underground lakes and lots of stairs. A small train takes you up hill after which you have to walk a good 400 steps on a stair to get you to the first room. It is worth the visit, though it is a very busy cave with long waiting lines.

Interesting visit in a cave that is above the ground. First part of the journey is done via a small little train that brings at the main hall, after which two branches - one at left and one at right -brings in two well protected and well preserved abyss.

Lovely cave! Big chambers with nice little lakes and beautiful formations. Lighting is very nicely done highlighting the different structures in the cave. The train is a very nice surprising start and end to the tour, you will feel your legs after cause there is a lot of stairs to climb and descent, but very doable.

The UV display is impressive but other than a few pretty formations there's not huge amount to see. English tour is given as a pamphlet, but you're underground in the dark so you can't actually read it!

Great experience. Very well organised and very informative. Lots of steps but there is the option of a lift. Boat ride along the underground stream is great. Wear a raincoat as there is some dripping water although a lot of effort has been made to minimise this.

Had been waiting to go here for a while and so glad I did. It's a bit of a windy drive to get there, and parking is pretty chaotic, but it's definitely worth the effort. A whole underground world awaits you: A giant chasm; a lovely boat trip along a subterranean river; waterfalls, lakes, enormous stalactites; and a section that opens up to reveal a chamber with a 90m high ceiling. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the infrastructure is exceptional there. Tips: Book tickets in advance. We went on a cold, rainy day in October and were surprised to see how busy it was. Parking is free, but a bit of a hunt was necessary. It's a steady 13 degrees in there, so warm, waterproof clothing & shoes required. Also, use the toilets before you enter as there are none in there! Have fun!

A true wonder in this world. The Gouffre de Padirac is really something else. You will get a beautiful unexpected surprise through all this beautiful adventure to the center of the earth. Simply magnificent. The caves are very beautiful with many fantastic photo opportunities. Buy your tickets in advance so that you won't be disappointed. Free parking is available but limited but the paid parking lot is inexpensive.

Absolutely beautiful caves you can walk through with a short boat ride. My only recommendation for those visiting the area, don't go after walking down from visiting the château at Rocamadour or your legs will be like jelly. If you want to see everything that's there, it's probably best to just make a day of it.

An absolute must-visit attraction if you are in the Dordogne region. It was an hour and a half of pure fun and adventure that was well worth the price. The way this attraction is structured is very well-organized and I appreciate how accessible it is for all kinds of people. The cave formations are stunning and grand and must be seen to believe. I was not expecting the sheer scale of this cave and was blown away. Furthermore, the staff were great and my boat guide in particular was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had about the cave. Highly, highly recommend visiting this place.

This was an amazing tour with an interesting guide. They have both French language and English language tours available and are both child and dog friendly. There's a shop with gemstones etc, a little café and toilets. The parking is up the hill a little way but has a pathway with barrier to protect you as you walk. Well worth the visit.

It's a nice place to visit, many birds like vultures, eagles, owls and a nice collection of parrots. The show itself is wonderful. Having said this all. It's a pity the French don't give shows in English. The staff is pretty good in English but the show itself is in French. I see this as contempt for non-French speaking tourists which were when I was there at least 40 percent if us.

The flying display was really good. First time we had seen parrots and macaws actually flown freely.

absolutely recommend going to the bird show. Not in english but still an incredible show. Only downside felt some of the birds didn’t look too happy. Still would recommend to any one to visit.

Brilliant way to spend an afternoon watching Birds of Prey fly off into the sky, enjoy themselves for 20-30minutes then come back to handlers who were performing with other birds. For the kids they had Condors walk over their legs, fed parrots and kestrel, had owl on head and handled a little owl. Some got to be part of the demonstration feeding flying birds. Took up 3 hours easily for €11 each, drinks over the same time span would have been far more expensive. Go!

Well presented park with very happy and healthy looking primates. Easy walking path, a nice little shop and small restaurant at the end, with a play area for the kids. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience! All the staff I spoke to spoke good English and were very friendly. The route was very informative, with signs displaying the monkey’s social structure, diet, and ecosystem. The monkeys, of North African origin have plenty of space, and you can really get up close to them as they roam freely across the paths. The information office also has useful leaflets for other attractions in the area. The fairly well priced entry allows you to stay for as long as you like, however a family group price would have been nice.

Really fun for kids and a beautiful park. The food offered is high quality. Love to see the improvements they have made over the years!

This place is amazing! the monkey's roam free all around you in the park. Loved the talk also.

The Monkey Forest is very cool and has beautiful views of Rocamadour, but we had a frustrating experience that I think could be helpful for others to know about when planning a trip there. On the weekend the park is open is the mornings from 10-12. We arrived with our 2.5 year old at 11 and after walking in we were told we needed to hurry to make it through the 1km path before 12. We were not worried, everyone was walking just fine. By 11:30 the park employees started following us down the path telling us to hurry up. Clearly more concerned about missing a minute of lunch than visitors having a nice experience. At that point we were only 10 minute walk from our car and we told them we were not worried about making it out by 12. But they insisted that we were being very slow and they kept pestering us and making our time less than fun and rushing along our toddler when he was just starting to really enjoy watching the monkeys. I wanted a refund after this experience but the office was closed by 11:45 when we make it back to the parking lot with 15 minutes to spare. I really wish they had told us that they expect you to run as fast as you can through the park and that you will be harassed if your not out by 11:30 (eventhough they close for lunch 12-1 officially). Instead of sympathy when we expressed exasperation for the 3 employee flanking and berating) we received sarcasm and criticism. Not a very nice was to treat your guests monkey forest, I hope you will try to do better in the future and that others are aware that they should arrive at 10 for the morning walk if you don’t want to get this kind of treatment.

Beautiful religious place. It does get very crowded however. Still the scenery is beautiful and the energy holds something special.

An amazing Pilgrimage Church built against a cliff, which resides the famous Black Madonna. From here you can also follow the stations of the cross too the summit of the hill.

Worth probably the visit once in your life during off peak hours to avoid the crowds side of the site, though you have to pay for everything : parking, entrance, lift etc ... and what about these shops and so-called restaurants ? Nothing to do with faith or pilgrimage

Absolute stunning attraction. Visited a few view points and the interior is stunning and awesome. Shops are interesting too. Took a train ride from the bottom to the top. It's very squeeze for the vehicles but all in all, it's worth it. Have an ice cream before you leave.

Such a stunning place. The buildings are all built into the cliffs. There is a lift or stairs to take you up there. I believe the lift cost 2euros one way but I'm not 100% sure.

This place has his own aura. It's impressive when you look up and see the castle on the top of the "hill". And when you take a look to the overall, it seems like a place took from a fairy tale. It has an elevator to move to the top or the bottom, but it cost around 4€. Even so, I recommend walking to discover all the smalls secrets hidden in this place

Last year, when I walk GR65 from Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port I have, accidentally, visit this unbelievable graceful place. I'm Catholic priest so I put attention to the quietness and peacefulness of particular place of prayer. I can say that the calmness and quietness of this place estonished me. Of course I'm not talking about "upper" church but about chapel underneath the place of tourists. I highly recommend this place for everyone who is seeking for the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Mother Immaculate Mary. God bless everyone+

As automobile and technique enthusiast this place hurts your testicles, was expensive and a waste of money. A giant collection of oil leaking ( directly in the soil) rusty, half rotten tractors, cars and motorcycles is what you are looking at. Some are decent, a handful are restored, but most are in deplorable state. This is not a museum, but despite his enthusiasm and passion, this is a collector taking it to the next level of collecting. These vehicles should be preserved. If you have nothing to do, perhaps fun to go, but otherwise please go have a good wine and moules frites. There are better things to do and see in the area! Cash and cheque only, no cards!

This is an excellent museum. There is something for everyone. It has agricultural machinery, PTT artefacts, lots of cars, lorries, full period roomsets, very many tractors, and a cafe. It is run by a fantastically enthusiastic group of people (led by Benoit) who make you feel very welcome and explain how to view the exhibits really well. The objects are kept in the original condition that they were found (objects are only in original condition once and are better to see like this). Some show their age and patina, but all the engines are maintained in running condition and can be demonstrated. The museum provides an excellent view back in history for people of all ages to enjoy. There are many, many things to see, but also an expansion of the site is being prepared. There is even a guided tour at certain times of the day. Well worth visiting. We will be back there again soon.

Collecting on steroids! Every kind of farm equipment, 200 tractors, 100 cars, motorcycles, bikes, antique toys, plus he makes a wood fired pizza you can order for after your tour. Amazing collection.

This is an exceptional museum and well worth a visit. plenty of parking even room for our motorhome. If you are in the area make sure you include a visit in your itinerary there are loads of interesting vehicles including scenes from family and educational life in rural France .

Nice place to visit if you love old agricultural machinery and old cars. Very impressive collection.

Everything was good. The course had even more little dishes than expected and it was nice to try many quite creative assemblages. There was no "what's that strange taste" moment that even happens to some restaurants with stars. Personally, I would prefer less sweetness overall. I like mains that are not sweet, but that depends on people.

We visited for lunch on a very hot Friday. The restaurant was cool and very calming with a beautiful decor. The staff were all welcoming and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding. Chef Baptiste Moura and team had prepared some outstanding dishes that all were tasty and interesting combinations. Stand out dishes included the “ fish and chip” the lobster and tomatoes and the Turbot with many combinations of carrot. The wine paring was excellent and all the wines complement the dishes served. A genuine treat for all the senses and I would recommend anyone to visit. 10/10

We had a fantastic experience at the Holodeck restaurant at Château de Chambert, we weren’t sure what to expect as I think the restaurant is fairly new and I hadn’t seen many photos of the food or information on the menu but we followed their lead on arrival. We arrived 20 minutes early for our dinner reservation, and drove up to the chateau where the views of the vineyard were spectacular. We met a lovely lady in the tasting room who let us try some wines. We had a run through of the chateau and the plans for the future. We then took a glass of our chosen wine to the terrace and enjoyed the view. We were greeted by our fantastic host who offered us sparkling Malbec and the start of our menu on the terrace. After our canapés we moved into the restaurant to choose our wine and to be made comfortable, the restaurant is excuisically decorated with beautiful ambient lighting and open kitchen. The chef showed exceptional skill with a balanced menu of fresh ingredients. We chose the smaller menu but were pleasantly surprised, there were countless high quality ingredients and we lost track of how many courses we had. The Asian citrus langoustine dish was my husbands favourite and mine was the Mediterranean John Dory dish, but every course was brilliantly executed. We were 2 of 10 diners, it made for a very special evening, the service was superb, even though our waiter sommelier did not speak much English and our French isn’t great, he did a fantastic job of simplifying the French to explain the dishes. Everything was perfect and timed to perfection, we did not want to leave! Highly recommend to any foodies visiting the area. We can’t wait to come back again. Thank you!

Went for a wine tasting. Vincent was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and generous with his time. As we arrived close to closing time he even patiently stayed late to allow us finishing our tasting. Highly recommended.

Our experience in this stunning, historic winery was a highlight of our time in L’Occitane. Wines were presented by Pascale whose knowledge and passion equaled the excellence of the wines we tasted (and purchased!) and our l’échappée en 4 temps in the beautiful Bistro Chambert was a triumph. Food so beautifully presented and served in a dining setting that was simple but flawless. Vincent and his team are masters. A food and wine experience not to miss!

Lovely food, we enjoyed a lunch time set menu and really enjoyed our trip. There is a smaller set menu for children and the atmosphere was very relaxed for such a high quality restaurant. It was next to the wine tour and wine tasting and was easy to book it all over the phone. Wonderful lunch. We also did a 1hr tour and 30 mins wine tasting. Some excellent reds from to choose from. High recommended!

Wow superb unique !!! Let's go back in history at least 25,000 years and see first hand primitive art not seen by modern man before 1996. Well preserved, group controlled in limited numbers and a MUST SEE CAVE! afterwards, enjoy the museum and watch more history in the 25 minute film. What a delightful outing...and the route is an eye full too!!

We’re doing the GR65 and stopping in Cabrerets so decided in advance to pop in. The website is a bit of nightmare from outside of France, but worked perfectly once we were in-country. You MUST buy tickets in advance as it sells out. There is an English spoken tour, but if you miss this there is a free audio tour (via app and headphones). The tour itself is very good and the caves are spectacular. Amazing that it was discovered by three teenagers. Well worth the visit and while obviously touristy, it wasn’t horribly so. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

I had always wanted to see these petroglyphs, and they were not a disappointment. It was difficult to get there without a car, but it was worth it. The tour was excellent.

These caves are an international treasure! It's marvelous that they are so well managed and preserved. There is nothing like seeing the images in person - it helped me understand the incredible level of artistry involved and its incredibly moving!

Amazing experience! I loved the guided tour and bought the guide book after, because the whole story fascinated me immensely. Probably one of the best "tourist sightseeing" experiences of my life.

Gilles’ tour of the Pech Merle cave was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. His enthusiasm was contagious, his passion for the place genuine, and the way he guided us made you stop, think, and marvel. Top class, Gilles. Do yourself a favor and visit the cave—step back into the past and dream of cave bears and mammoths. Even better if you go together with Gilles 😉.

Great experience. Underground natural cave dating back to 29,000 years ago. Beautiful and very interesting. Well kept, very clean and safe! The tour guide only spoke French, but English audio guides and guide books are available. There is also a museum which explains all that you'll find inside the cave. Highly recommended visit. Book tickets in advance for no waiting time.

A beautiful and inspiring experience. Plan to spend an hour or more slowly exploring this immense building. There are lots of ‘individual chapel’ areas around the inside walls each with a different purpose, story or history. Lots to read and contemplate and maybe reflect upon.

A masterpiece of architecture in Cahors, well worth a brief visit. I walked into a Sunday afternoon service and there would have been live classical concert in the evening hosted at the cathedral for free. The building is situated in the beautiful old town of picturesque Cahors. The ceiling paintings are breathtaking and the many colourful glass windows are wrapping the church's interior into a nice ambiance.

I was truly speechless when I saw this nearly 700-year-old bridge. Its history and architectural beauty are simply breathtaking. We took our time walking around it to admire it from every angle, appreciating the stunning bridge.

This bridge is absolutely beautiful and amazing to see how high this is too. Also encountered a very friendly cat. It’s all free to visit and there are free parking spaces about 5 minute walk away.

Take your time to look at more than the bridge, the museum is well worth a visit and it's well worth looking around. It would be good walking country, but not in the heat.

I loved my walk and visit to this lovely medieval stone Bridge with its nice views down the river and the surrounding hillsides. Its very close to the town and has plenty of walking path from either side of the river Lot. The bridge is in great condition and well maintained. Highly recommend.

Aire in the the town only has 3 bays, suitable for small vans. Large car park ,about 15 mins walk to bridge. Can stay overnight but very basic and shared with cars.

Don’t trust this hotel. Read all the fine print, and do not expect them to honor anything else, no matter how obvious, not even to respond constructively. If they respond to this note it will be to claim that our purchase was non-refundable, but they will know that they are not telling anything close to the whole truth. There are many other fine places to stay in the area.

It's an interesting chateau to visit with 13th and 16th century parts and stunning views from its cliff terrace, and other balconies.

Another wonderful château carefully preserved with amazing decorations, ceilings, furniture collected over the centuries.

A beautiful castle in the Lot department of France We went to Saint Cirq Lapopie and somehow googled nearby places to visit! Spectacular view and quiet peace in this beautiful corner of France. No English language (or any other than French) made some of the signage hard to use … but it is their country!

Interesting medieval castle with many original features. It's privately owned so much is closed off to the public but interesting if you like old castles.

Lovely place to visit as you can see some of how they lived in ancient times. Booklet in English to read as you go round. Family still live in Chateau so some parts out of bounds. Follow signs to Chateau as some satnavs take you where you cannot drive.

How heavenly beautiful is this portal and the church. We were very unlucky because the cloitre was closed from 12:00 to 14:00 and there was no time left to wait any longer. We had arrived at 12:00. The portal is great and impressing. A masterpiece of sculpture. Don't forget to study the 4 vices at the left side and the 4 virtues at the right side. There was a Portuguese ceremony in the church for the celebration of the Virgin Marie's appearance in Fatima on 13 May 1917.

A beautiful, peaceful abbey with some lovely restaurants/bars with outdoor seating in the square adjacent.

Peaceful, well kept and interesting place to visit. I did visit in May and it was not busy. The architecture is impressive, and the detail on every column is very interesting.

Beautiful town with a castle perched high on an escarpment. Alovely walk from the shop-lined square up to the castle. Climb the circular narrow stairs to the top of the keep for amazing views.

When I was growing up there was a popular saying ‘Bacon and eggs, no thank you I’d rather wash my car’ As I walked around the castle at Najac I recalled this saying and processed to shout ‘I’d rather wash my car’ Surprisingly a man came up to me and said that it was about time

Interesting historical place. Great for a day out with the village next to it.

This fortress/castle is one of the most impressive ones you will ever see. It's the location that makes it. Sitting on a - at times steep - hill, you can see it from far away. And when you are walking down on the Rue Du Chateau (coming from the village), then it's just a sight to behold. It's picture-perfect. It goes a good way down from the village....until it goes back up again to reach the castle. It's a fairly short walk - a lot shorter than it might seem. If you have a stroller or a wheelchair it's quite an obstacle though. And the steep stairs and the cobble stones can get pretty slippery, even when it's not raining. So be aware of that and be careful. We didn't go inside the castle - we had our Bulldog with. But the best sight of it isn't up-close anyways...it's on Rue Du Chateau when you walk towards it. A wonderful, pretty and magical fortress. A must-see.

What a great trip! The hike up was not the easiest stroll, however many places to take a breather and see the views. From inside your can climb to the top- the spiral staircase are narrow, but worth the climb. You can see the town of Najac from each level and the secret passway is really fun. A great time!

It is situated on the top of a very high hill. 1st gear all the way for 1kms. Chateau is nice but bare of much interest inside. 30 minutes to get a good tour. 46 minutes everything.

Very beautiful area and if you order a guide who just an hour or a little more will tell you about the history of all the places and buildings and people who lived in this city you will understand how much surrounds us. I would highly recommend you to visit the city of Montauban.

Great, smaller town square with deep brick arch colonnades, ideal in hit weather. Bars and street food all around, and a fantastic squirting/misting water ' fountain' area for the kids to play in and get wet.

Very interesting museum. More of an art gallery. Some great Boudelle sculptures and a whole series of Venetian School art. Not my taste but interesting in their own right. The building has beautiful ceilings

The recently renovated building is almost as lovely as the collections it holds! A truly impressive and educational collection of a local artist's work. Amazing collection of sketches and models of works that grace both the US and UK national galleries plus many more. The spaces and exhibits for the temporary shows equally impressive. A must visit in Montaubon!

It is a beautiful building showcasing some fantastic art. A good mixture of paintings and sculptures, with one room dedicated to the sketches of Ingres. Finished the trip with a visit to the cafe for tea and a pastry.

I loved this museum for the permanent collection of both Ingres and Bourdelle and found the collection interesting and educational.

This museum is very interesting and depicting the correlation between the two artists Ingres and Bourdelle which is very interesting to understand. As well, the museum shows the personal collection of arts and drawings from Ingres which provides a strong perspective on Ingres' creation process.

Excellent art museum close to the centre of Montauban. It is the first time I have revisited it since the renovations and they seem to have done a very good job. All the exhibits are well displayed too. I particularly enjoyed the basement area in what felt like an old chapel. Many nice displays, some quite amusing. Recommended.

Truly amazing. Beautifully restored, an absolute jewel. Go and visit it. The town is a bonus wirh that marvellous square in the centre.

What an awesome amazing castle. I took the audio accompaniment in English and if I was to visit again, I would take it again! It is a must if you want to get the most out of your visit. Lovely friendly English speaking ladies on reception who are knowledgeable about the castle. You can tell they really enjoy their job. The castle is in various states of repair. Restoration work has been carried out in most of the rooms that are open & available to the public to see. I appreciated seeing what unrestored parts of the castle looked like too.

Spectacular setting but you need to stop on the road to the village to get the best photograph as once you reach the castle you are too close and at the wrong angle to photograph it all. It costs €5 to enter and the lady at Reception was extremely helpful, giving us a map and explaining the recommended route. It doesn't take long to see everything, we did it in about 20 minutes. There is a recorded guide available which probably takes longer.

An impressive historical monument since 1840, the building (12th, 13th and 17th centuries) is built at the very top of the cliff overlooking the confluence of the Vère and the Aveyron, on the site of an ancient Roman castrum. Property of the Counts of Toulouse in the 12th century, it was shared in the 15th between two branches of the House of Comminges, which explains the current division into the Château Jeune and the Château Vieux. Also known for having been the filming location for the movie "Le Vieux Fusil" with Romy Schneider and Philippe Noiret ...

We had a much better experience than we had expected, based on a review by a local guide. As others have said, the reception staff are very helpful. We were given the choice of the audio guide or a written guidebook. We opted for the latter - which was in English and French - and found it very useful. A wonderful location and two very interesting castles. Rather puzzled about another reviewer’s comment about cobwebs; in a building dating from 12th century, how surprising!

Wonderful medieval village and castle definitely worth to make the detour. Nice small cobblestone alleys that lead to the top of the village (relatively steep climb but not very long), where the old (medieval) and the new (16th- 17th) castles are located. In the museum you find the details of the Neanderthaler found here as well as the cave discovered around 1990.

2 Castles side by side located on a cliff 90 metres above the adjacent river. This is a very interesting place to visit with a fascinating history. We spent several hours wandering through the castles and grounds listening to the self guided tour information. Well worth a visit.

Nice spa with indoor and outdoor pools with strong bubble jets, sauna and hammam. Really fun place to chillout, silence is not enforced on site. We took the 2h promo and felt it was good enough. It's however overcrowded on Sunday. No towel, shampoo provided. Locker is free of charge. There's a room outside with hair dryers and body lotion provided. For foreigners, beware there are rules regarding swimsuits. They also sell at the spa in case your swimsuit is not allowed.

The first type of this place at Toulouse <3 but... 2 tiny dry sauna, 2 tiny vapeur sauna. And some chilling pools. Big space but with unused potential. I didn't find it also enough clean (and i dont mean floors, but equipment and dpace renovation, wood inside of sauna etc). Nudity not allowed, so people are sauning within artifical swimming suits... no sauna masters, no true culture meaning within customers for sauning (human sweat all over the place instead of towels, sweaty body touching common spaces, plastic bottles inside of sauna etc).

I dont understand how a spa doesnt offer towels for the pools, especially for the price that you are paying. Outdated facility. Booked a couples massage. Waiting in the facility entrance for spa to start. Warm tap water offered after the massage. Massage itself was nice, but wouldn’t go back. Very disappointing overall…

The space is really "compliant" with what it says but no more. Front desk, just here to cash and not smiling, nor welcoming. No bar inside, just vending machines close to front desk. Changing rooms are common for men and women which I found extremely uncomfortable (except for the showers). Not an experience I will repeat, deshumanised....

They are very particular about what swimwear men should use (if you use boxers they need to be tight, short and without pockets). I thought mine was good enough but was stopped in the pool area and had to buy swimwear for 15 euros. The information pictures and text was not that clear in the reception about this. I would like a zone in the pool area where you can buy and drink warm and cold non-alcoholic beverages like Coffee, Juice, Coke. That would earn this place a higher grade. Also, I wish the city had better direct access to this place by public transport. It takes time having to change bus/subway and wait for the connection. I appreciate the strictness of this place. I don't want a noisy unhygienic, municipal pool with anoying illbehaved people. This place is not like that.

We went there on Sunday evening. Quite crowded but still enjoyable. The pools outside were the main highlight except that they could have been warmer to contrast the cold weather. We left the pools after 2 h and took more or less 15 mins to get change. It was a surprise that the lady at the counter asked us to pay 8€ each for the extra 15 minutes spent in the changing room. We were not informed about this time limit.

Sunday's are extremely crowded so it is not so relaxing when there are hundreds of people talking. You can't wear swimming shorts. It has to be briefs or other tight stretchy swimwear . I couldn't get in sauna there was a queue. It's quite far from centre so you need to have a car or make sure getting hourly bus on time.

Great place. I saw a lot of comments that everything is in French only, well, that's not true, apart from some spectacles, everything is available in French, English and Spanish. However, they could provide some subtitles for the French only parts. I spent there 1 full day, it's enough to see the most important parts and walk through the whole object. If you want to really have full experience and see everything thoroughly, 2 days are recommended. Great place for kids, adults and anyone who loves space exploration. My favorite spectacle was the imax space images. Overall, highly recommended.

There are lots of shows which are really informative and educational. We loved the Mars Rover one, but the only thing was everything was explained in French so we had to use live translation. The planetarium shows has audio guides in english. Other than above this is a great place to visit for both kids and adults who love space.

If you’re in Toulouse and even remotely curious about space, the Cité de l’Espace is a must-visit — especially with kids. I went with my daughter, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had together. The IMAX Deep sky show was fantastic. Gazing at the stars in the Planetarium made us feel like we were travelling through the galaxy. The highlight is the Lune Explorer where you get to experience being an astronaut on a mission to Moon. You can literally feel the 2G force!

It's a must see if you are in the area. I would recommend setting a few hours aside if you visit - especially if you want to check out some of the shows on offer. Planetarium and take off simulations are great - the latter does have quite a bit of a wait time however. Translation headphones are available for planetarium - English and Spanish. There's also a restaurant and food trucks, the only thing missing was a coffee truck for some pick me up. Overall spent around 5h and haven't seen everything.

Love it! Very good place to visit. Full of astronomy, stars, planets, and fun things. Tons of activities to do and see. You would need the whole full day for this. Highly recommended.

Nice space oriented museum, from the first rocket into space, to the future. Pitty that there isn't any Dutch, as a neighbour country this would have been nice. (Translating everything for my kids was exhausting 😁) A lot of interactive stuff, friendly staff, children are more than welcome to experiment and try things. But again, only in french.. A lot to discover, you'll need at least a full day if you want to see everything.

On a warm summer day, we visited the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse with our children—and what an experience it was! The interactive space museum offers an incredible variety of things to see and do, both indoors and outdoors. Our kids were thrilled to try out the simulators (with almost no waiting lines), where they felt like real space shuttle pilots, tractor drivers, and even captains of a fishing boat. Outside, you can walk among life-size spacecraft and even step inside some of them—something truly unique in Europe. One of the highlights was the panoramic theater, showing an engaging film about the galaxy and our solar system. It's just a pity that much of the content was only in French. For a museum that celebrates European cooperation in space, we had hoped for a bit more multilingual accessibility 😉. We had a great time and, honestly, ran out of time after four hours of exploring. Whether it’s sunny or rainy, this place is absolutely worth a visit!
