Bukit Kapur Arosbaya is a captivating limestone mining site that features stunning caverns, tunnels, and intricate sculptural shapes carved from the rock. Although the location may be slightly hidden, it is definitely worth a visit with family or schoolmates. Previously used by locals for mining purposes, the site now serves as a popular holiday destination boasting picturesque views that are perfect for capturing memories. Admission tickets cost 10K per person while parking fees are 5K per motorcycle.
True hidden gem in Madura. If you’re looking for a real nature and quiet place to stroll around, come here instead of Jaddih hill. This spot might be a little bit hard to find, but simply follow the Gmaps, it will leads you to the location (road is small, and only fits 1 car, bigger car might have to park a bit away from the location). Entrance fee is Rp 5.000 per person, and Rp 20.000 for car. Bring small cash as there might be some local kids asking for money

Very nice, atmospheric place. I suppose it's going to be my top1 in Madura. Not so easy to get there by car, much easier by motorbike. However, nothing to regret. Must see !

recommended to go and explore when you are at Surabaya. man made scenery but it will give you temple run or tomb raider vibe. please go with local guide if you’re tourist because it is remote area and can be difficult. either transportation or being scammed. if no local guide you need to pay for parking fees and entry fees. we go with local guide so no need to pay anything. and the entry fees and parking fees are not collected by owner of the place. just some random person whoever reach there first🙄
Pyae S — Google review
Fee 20/08/2020 : 20 k for parking, 10 k for each person to entry. U can buy food inside (Coconut 10 k, n softdrink). Maybe its more easy to entry with city car than minibus. Overall this place is awesome, every spot is best spot to take picture

This limestone hills is actually more attractive then Jaddih hills it has so many cave and hills remind me of Indiana Jones movie .so many good spot to take picture too when you can play with ray of light .best times is morning till 9am or evening before sunset ,this place been used so many times for prewed photoshot and model photoshot too . . Parking ticket is 20k idr for car amd 5k for bike .you can also find small stall that selling food and drink .place open from morning till 6pm too like Jaddih hills ,but this area is more safe ,try to go in week days ill be not to crowded . The only thing that i regrets is ppl still trow their trash every where although they already give many trash can at the area . . But still good place to visit when you happen to be at bangkalan madura guys

Good place to visit with your family or your schoolmates. The place were a little bit hidden and I must ask to local people about it location. The ticket just 10K and parking for one motorcycle was 5K... A big limestone hill that was used by local people and now just become a holiday location. Not too much to offer but still enjoyable

GREAT scenery. That being said, you will always get a good shot even if you're not so good at photography. So many pretty and unique spot to take pictures. Visit during the fasting month if you want less crowd. I recommend Arosbaya better than Bukit Jaddih.

An affordable and amazing destination. Cost only Rp 5000 to enter the whole site. Better visit when the sky is clear. I went there when cloudy and the photos are a little bit dark. The parking site cost Rp 5000 for motorcycle and Rp 20.000 for car

This is Vihara for Buddhist near Sleeping Buddha in Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia. Like vihara in the world, vihara generally refers to a Buddhist bhikkhu monastery. Vihara is a Sanskrit word that appears in several Vedic texts with context sensitive meanings. It generally means a form of "distribution, transposition, separation, arrangement", either of words or sacred fires or sacrificial ground.

The Gapura Wringin Lawang Trowulan is an archaeological site in Indonesia that features imposing red brick gates towering at 50 feet high, dating back to the 14th and 15th century of the Majapahit era. Unfortunately, the site is not well-maintained and lacks a standby and qualified local guide, which is essential for such historical places.

JAVA T — Google review
The Gate of Wringin Lawang of the Great Majapahit Empire. It is located at the center of Trowulan District as it was the capital city of Majapahit. The name of Wringin Lawang in ancient-Javanese has meaning of Wringin (Banyan) and Lawang (Gate) regarding there were many banyan trees on both sides of this gate. This gate is believed to be once the main entrance/exit gate of the empire (but probably it was just a icon of the empire's passage since a gate in ancient-Javanese philosophically should be facing the north & south-side and not facing east & west-side) Whether it was a gate or a passage, it is considered as sacred that this site is commonly used to be worshipping place for a few of the Hindu-Buddha Javanese that remains as the descendants of the Great Majapahit Empire.
Aswin N — Google review
According to the tourism information, this ancient buding is a gate, not a tample nor "candi" actually. Surrounding known this place as Gapura Wringin Lawang. It is a clean and neat envirenment. There is no any special admission fee to enter this place. All you have to do is pay voluntarily. Gapura Wringin Lawang classified as Candi Bentar that is a building that has no roof, the function of the such building is as the outer gate of some building complex.
I P — Google review
Beautiful Gate monument to physically have a tremendous appeal, remains sturdy despite already hundreds of years old, but there is no local guide as well as clear information center while visiting this location.
Sandri P — Google review
This is normally off the tourist track, but it is well worth a visit for history of the Hindu Kingdom. And just up the road is the main site and there is a very good museum associated with the history & the area.
Ross D — Google review
Great historical landmark from Majapahit ancient kingdom. It was a very important heritage and was the mark of the famous ancient Majapahit gate, as mentioned too in the old manuscript Nagarakretagama. This place now though situated near by an important access to the national street, but still has its great ambience and quite atmosphere. Perfect place for finding a peacefull moment. Very recommended.
Hery P — Google review
I like it at Trowulan because they can managed well the historical remains zone. All the parks are maintained and in a good conditions. And you can see the Wringin Lawang from the main road it's easy to spot
Marsya N — Google review
According to the archaeologist the gate of Wringin Lawang is a gateway of Majapahit Kingdom, but are not the main gate because the main gate drivable by carriage and until now, the main gate of the Majapahit Kingdom itself can not be determined with certainty. Wringin Lawang Temple is derived from the word " Wringin " it's mean banyan, because near the temple there is a banyan tree, and the word " Lawang " it's mean gate or door. This temple area for many years has been a public funeral by the people around this place. But, now has restored, the banyan tree is cut down and the graves moved. The temple was split in two exactly the same shape are built by using materials of red brick. According to some article the temple was restored in the 1990 by using bricks and coupled with the lightning rod. Wringin Lawang gate is believed to be one of the entrance to the complex of Majapahit Palace. The gate is commonly called " Candi Bentar " ( the temple is torn in two ). However, it is not a temple but the gate which is similar right to the temple, but as if split into equal parts, from top to bottom the same shape and the top is not closed. The architectural style of this kind might appear in the Majapahit era and can currently be found in Balinese architecture.

Monumen Kapal Selam Surabaya

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Surabaya Submarine Monument, also known as Monkasel, is a unique tourist destination located in the central Genteng district on the banks of the Kalimas River. It features a decommissioned Soviet submarine, KRI Pasopati 410, which was used by the Indonesian navy during the 1960s. The monument serves to commemorate Indonesia's naval history and heroism.
Surabaya is a city full of diverse tourism attractions, perfect not only for adults but also for children. One spot that’s perfect for a family outing is the Submarine Monument (Monumen Kapal Selam). It’s a great option for a short, educational holiday activity for your little ones. The location is super easy to find—it’s just across the river to the north of Surabaya Train Station, right by a main road and a big river. The entrance fee is really affordable, and what you get is totally worth it. Inside, you’ll get to explore the submarine and see what it’s like inside. It’s a cool experience for both kids and adults to learn about how a submarine works. The best part? Each room is equipped with air conditioning, so it’s nice and comfortable, even with lots of visitors around. There’s also a guide who’ll explain all the parts of the submarine, from the back to the front, so you can really understand how everything works. That said, the submarine is the only attraction here, so it’s more of a quick stop rather than a full-day activity. But it’s definitely worth adding to your Surabaya itinerary if you’re looking for something unique and educational to enjoy during your trip!
Tutut W — Google review
I'm glad I let my curiosity get the better of me today and visited the submarine. I think walking/crawling through the submarine gave me a much better idea of what sailors commit to as crew members. Not a career I'd want! Sufficient signage in English to understand what each section is for. The nuclear submaine in the movie Red October looks palatial compared to this boat. Video drama was closed during my visit. 25,000 rupiah for international guests, 15,000 rupiah for Indonesians.
David V — Google review
We had a quite good guided tour at this place. The tour took approximately one hour. The only issue was the language barrier. I wish the guide had better English skills at such a touristic spot. But the whole visit was impressive.

A very special monuments and hardly found elsewhere... This Submarines Monument in Surabaya is worth a visit as it is a real Submarine. It has serve the sea around 17000++ of island of Indonesia... real and attractive.. Especially the 6 big Torpedoo it carries on the vessel...
CHONG K — Google review
The Experience: It’s not every day you get to walk into the belly of a Soviet-built submarine in the middle of a city! The Monumen Kapal Selam (Monkasel) is a fascinating stop, especially if you appreciate military history or engineering. The Highlights: Authenticity: This isn't a replica; it's the real KRI Pasopati 410. Seeing the original equipment—from the massive torpedo tubes (which look intimidating up close!) to the vintage radio communication gear—really transports you back in time. The "Real" Submarine Feel: My photos show just how tight the corridors and bunk areas are. It gives you a newfound respect for the 63 crew members who lived in these confined spaces for months. It is a bit of a squeeze walking through, but that’s part of the authentic experience. Well-Maintained: The exterior is freshly painted in striking green and black, and the interior equipment looks surprisingly well-preserved considering its age. Educational: It seems to be a favourite for school trips (saw lots of students there), which adds a lively atmosphere. Things to Know Before You Go: Not for the Claustrophobic: As you can see from the narrow hallways, it is a tight squeeze. If you are tall or dislike enclosed spaces, just be prepared to duck your head! Accessibility: There are steep stairs to enter and exit, and you have to step through circular bulkhead doors, so comfortable shoes are a must. The Verdict: A unique, quick, and affordable attraction right in the heart of Surabaya. It’s a great short visit (about 30min) that offers a cool perspective on Indonesia's maritime history.

Surabaya Submarine Monument, or Monumen Kapal Selam, is one of the must-visit landmarks in Surabaya for history enthusiasts and travelers alike. Located near the Kalimas River, this iconic attraction is a decommissioned Soviet-built submarine, KRI Pasopati 410, transformed into a museum. It offers a rare chance to step inside an actual submarine and get a glimpse of its intricate layout and equipment. What makes this monument stand out is its impressive preservation and the opportunity to experience the history of Indonesia’s naval past up close. Walking through the narrow passages and observing the original machinery provides a fascinating insight into the life of a submariner. The detailed exhibits and accompanying video presentations help visitors understand the historical significance of the submarine, making it both an educational and memorable experience. While the monument is an excellent place to visit at any time, visiting at night adds a unique charm to the experience. The cooler temperatures make it more comfortable to explore, and the monument is beautifully illuminated, creating a picturesque and serene ambiance. The night visit allows you to enjoy the surrounding area in a more relaxed and peaceful setting. Overall, the Surabaya Submarine Monument is an engaging attraction that combines history, education, and a touch of adventure. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or with family, it’s a destination worth adding to your itinerary when in Surabaya.
Fadhil A — Google review
A good stop if you're interested in submarines or military. Entrance fee is cheap, but is justified by the fact that the only exhibit is the submarine. The submarine is one of the 12 whiskey class submarines that Indonesia bought during their navy's early days, and saw service from 1962 to 1990. The interior of the ship haven't changed much since it was in service (besides the countless AC units inside), and you're required to go through some small hatches as you go through the ship. Interestingly some cryllic letters are still visible in some labels. If you want more information about the Indonesian navy highly recommend visiting the Indonesian Navy Museum as well.
Pachi K — Google review
The Submarine Monument (Monumen Kapal Selam) is one of Surabaya’s most interesting historical attractions. Visitors can explore the interior of the KRI Pasopati, a real submarine used by the Indonesian Navy, complete with informative displays about its history and operations. The location is excellent—right in the city center and easy to reach from various hotels and attractions. A well-maintained site that offers a unique insight into Indonesia’s naval history. Definitely worth a visit.

Most complete park in Surabaya. Playground, wide hall, foodstall every where. Quiet parking space. Some cozy café. Good atmosphere
Dii R — Google review
This is a very well known park in Surabaya, even people from outside Surabaya knows a little about this park. The park is really green and beautiful because of many trees, that also make the air become cooler here. There are many areas for people to do skateboard, jogging, and many kind of sports. A playground for children also available here. It can be accessed easily because of being located near the city centre, and many public transportation through this place.
Glenn M — Google review
One of the best city park in Indonesia, world even. It won an award and has nice playground for kids. It usually crowded at weekend, especially at car free day (cfd) event every Sunday morning.

Really love this place! The "car free day event" every sunday is a must visit, you can find anything from traditional foods to nice clothings with affordable prices. Also, there are lots of community gathering here on weekend. Maybe you could join one if you want to.

I dared to post photos from an off-the-beaten angles. I'm not sure why this park is popular after actually visiting here. Yeah, it's big and green. You can enjoy fresh air, however it's never a quiet place. It's surrounded by busy roads. Well, this is not a touristy spot from the beginning. By the way, it might be good for lunch since you can find an open-air food court(?) somewhere in this plot. Oasis for businesspeople.

A must visit historical place which would remind us about the great period in the ancient time
Rahma N — Google review
Among other temples I visited in Indonesia, this is one of the most beautiful. It is located in the middle of neighbourhood right at the edge of the road. I went there at the afternoon and without a hat or any cover, it was a huge mistake because it's hot there. Very. However, the inside room of the temple is very cool! Nothing much to see than the temple itself and a small garden in front of it. There was a gazebo to relax and people selling drinks, and that's all. I was hoping for more attractions in this place as I find it very potential in the town. Tickets were affordable, there is a parking lot.
Lutfianna D — Google review
It's OK coz the place is not very crowded & the swimming pool looks also clean & not crowded besides there are also many trees so that it's shidy enough. The lady ticket seller who served us yesterday is also very friendly & kiindhearted. I hope that in other recreation places also have employees like her. May GOD always Bless her, amen.

I really want to give the place 1 star ⭐ due to the devastating feeling of the tragedy BUT i do think its a must visit place to REMEMBER how terrible this exploitation and the damaged it has created for the society 16villages buried due to incompetent operational of drilling 20years ago and until TODAY the people in surrounding still suffer

This is what's left after the disaster happened in 2006. It's now a large area of mud, and the mudflow is still active until now. Not really a recreational place, but you can find some good photo spots here.

The worst and disastrous mining's environmental incident in Indonesia. Lapindo mud burst, May 2006. The settlement of Lapindo mudflow victims in Sidoarjo, East Java, has not been completed yet. In May 2017, just after 11 years of hot mud burst, there are still dozens of casualties, both from citizens and businessmen, who have not received any compensation.

I have to give it 5 stars since we explored the place via a drone and its incredibly interesting. Its definetely not a tourist attraction but a memorial to the devastating power caused by human error.

We did not stay here, only came here for the golf. The course is quite well maintained and we love the scenery surrounding the golf course. They also allow me to fly drone on the golf course. Green fee on weekday is very affordable at 700k rupiah per person, which includes caddy and buggy. There’s also free use of table tennis and pool table

THIS IS FOR THE GOLF ONLY. Nice fairways. Fast greens. Nice people. Good staff. Resto served good food too. Nice caddies. Can be challenging. Buggies were good. Buggy on track. Overall happy we came to play here.
Eric P — Google review
Today we had lunch at the Taman Golf Club restaurant (full name) and the service was disastrous. We ordered our food at 4:00 PM. I received two dishes at 4:45 PM, but my wife had to sit and watch me eat for 15 minutes because her meal did not arrive until after 5:00 PM. And, worst of all, one of her dishes still hadn’t arrived even after an hour of waiting. At a restaurant of this supposed level and in the setting of a golf club, one expects professionalism, organization, and respect for the customer. Unfortunately, none of that was found here. This is the kind of place you go to once by mistake, not by recommendation. And the wisest choice is never to return

Museum Angkut is a unique and whimsical museum that showcases various types of transportation, from traditional to modern. It features scenes and characters from Hollywood movies, as well as an impressive collection of cars, tanks, and mopeds. The museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the history of transportation through interactive displays and simulations. With almost 4 hectares of space, it is the first transportation museum in Southeast Asia.
Better get your legs and energy ready—this place is huge! The museum ticket is a bit on the pricey side, but honestly, it's so worth it. Every detail is carefully designed, and you can really see the effort they put into everything. Plus, the cool Batu weather makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Debbie F — Google review
I really recommend visiting Museum Angkut, it’s absolutely worth it! The place is huge, very clean, and well-organized with so many amazing vintage cars on display. What impressed me most is that the cars are not just for show, most of them are still in excellent condition and can actually start, the engines are well-maintained. The museum opens at 11, and they also have exciting car shows with drifting. The schedule is at 1 PM, 4 PM, and 6 PM, and it’s really fun to watch. Inside the museum, there are many resting areas where you can stop, relax, and enjoy before continuing the tour. After finishing the museum, you get an incredible view of Mount Kawi, standing tall and beautiful in the background, a perfect ending to the experience. 🎟️ Ticket price: 110k Overall, an amazing experience for car lovers and families alike! 🚗✨

An interesting place to learn about types of transportation from around the world. It is child and adult friendly. There are interesting and changing events all the time. The ticket price is also not too expensive, and there are many food vendors with various choices. In addition, there is also a large selection of interesting rides.

Museum Angkut is an amazing place to explore! The collections of classic cars, airplanes, and other vehicles are impressive, and the themed zones make the experience fun and educational. The atmosphere is lively, the staff are helpful, and it’s a great spot for both families and history lovers. Definitely one of the must-visit attractions in Malang.

A joyful and colorful place that brings history to life. Every corner tells a story — from classic cars to charming city replicas. It’s a wonderful spot for families, kids, and anyone who loves vintage vibes. Men can get lost in admiration over the engines and timeless designs, while children laugh and learn with wide-eyed wonder. The place feels alive, nostalgic, and full of memories waiting to be captured.

A must-visit museum when in Batu. It showcases various forms of transportation, and we can experience travelling around the world in a single day—from Asia and Europe to the USA. Every afternoon, there’s an entertaining show on Broadway Street. No need to worry about going hungry, as a Floating Market awaits at the end of the museum tour.

The place is quite big but the condition is great. There are lots of areas that need lotsa time to enjoy urself taking pictures. There's a cafe inside and musolla for Muslim is also available (at China country area) If u wish to watch the live show, u need to take ur lunch first, then u enter the museum . The live show starts at 3.15pm and there's another 2 more shows available. Wish to repeat this place again.
Eryna X — Google review
This is a very cool museum, when you enter there is the entrance tickets, cost 110k for holiday season. As you enter there will be a lot of classic cars such as shelby cobras, military willys jeeps, and etc. Then there will be a lot more things to do, i’m not going to spill all hehe. But promise you that this place is cool, there is a festival in gangster city, food places that have es potong durian, etc. Overall, solid 9.3/10

Having great fun and able to explore half day here due raining seasons . Visit on weekdays and great less crowded and they should put more shelter in case heavy rain comes. Price is start 100ribu rupiah and it’s worth it , to those who have school holidays can bring along their children.

Nadine was an excellent guide, perfect English, very professional and extremely knowledgeable, this lady needs a promotion. So many rides great place to spend the day and great value. Amazing staff
Gordon R — Google review
good if you want to learn things. however, i came here to enjoy the rides, yet a lot of the places were closed. the staff were not too friendly to remind us that there are a lot of the rides that are being repaired/in maintenance. we clearly stated to the staff that we come for the haunted house, yet the staff just smiled without informing us anything that apparently, it was being repaired... 👎 we came for the rides, but only able to enjoy the learning experience and taking pictures... nah for me...maybe later time when the rides are opened..
Michael P — Google review
This place is suitable for all ages, the important thing is that young and old have things to prepare themselves, it's a shame to go there when it's raining so you don't ride the super complete rides, only ride 3 rides for the sake of employment safety, that's also good, it's recommended that you go here from morning so you can enjoy the rides. The ticket I bought was 110 for all the rides, even though some of the rides were paid, almost all of them were included in the 110 IDR package. Entering at the beginning of the route you will be treated to museums throughout Indonesia, then ride and go home, don't forget to buy souvenirs.
Indana Z — Google review
It's a fun and vibrant small theme park. The rides are not that special, but they have a lot of other unique attractions as well. The park is quite big, they also have a waterpark in the middle of the park for those looking to cool off.

I came here on peak season. You can buy ticket directly from ticket booth. I bought bundling ticket Museum Angkut+ Jatim Park 1 for 170K/person. I dont know exactly how much it costs on weekday. Last time i was here i think more than 10 years ago. I saw many changes and it's beyond my expectation. I think it'll need more than 5 hours to visit all areas in Jatim Park 1. Unfortunately, my visit was hampered by heavy rain for almost than an hour. So i could only stuck at the food court area. It's quite tiring to reach to the exit door because you have to get through stores and it's like a labyrinth. It takes more than 10 minutes to reach exit door towards parking area.
Belavita D — Google review
We had a lot of fun, and the prices are very reasonable for the experience you get! However, I’m removing one star because I truly believe that keeping captive animals in this setting is unnecessary. Seeing the sea turtle confined to such a small space, along with the very old aquariums housing visibly unhealthy fish, was quite upsetting. It was disheartening to witness, and I hope the management will reconsider this aspect in the future.

Very well maintained. A realistic experience, can spend a day here, as there is a lot to see. It's located near other must visit tourist sites. The best place for kids, it has everything. Zoo contains almost all kinds of animals, park, soft play, rides, obstacle course. The most amazing thing is the way the Park is designed and it's a single way that is everything is along a single route you don't have to decide things like should I go left first or right and circle back, very easy to navigate and full stroller friendly. Indonesia Safari Park II Prigen

Wildlife and safari park
Tours
Sprawling, drive-through park with many wild animals at close range, plus shows & rides.
Such a fun experience that we got to interact closely with the animals. The staffs are really friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit. The cars get really crowded on weekends. And the Australiana zone is a must visit!
Elisa M — Google review
The area is huge, the animals are too common, nothing special. I just feel that they're too commercial. The feeling of going through a wild area wasn't there. The first day we rode on the park's vehicle. The driver only speaks Indonesian and he drove too fast. My friend booked to stay at Baobab for 2 nights, so we hired a car to make another tour and they tried to charge the extra 200k as he's a foreigner. After waited for 10 minutes they let us in.

Great family experience despite high price for foreigners (400,000 rupiah per person). After driving through the animals where you can feed them , there’s a small theme park with some rides and free dolphin/elephant shows. Really enjoyable for the whole family! Food at the cafe was delicious at reasonable price too! By the way, it is all cashless right from the entrance fees to cafe etc, so make sure to bring along a credit card.

Excellent place for family. Theme park. Animal feeding, carnivore. Day and night feeding. Water theme park, rides for kids and adults. Restaurants and cafes. Lots of walking to and fro attractions. Not a place for seniors and no wheel chair access. Cool weather in July. Entry to the theme park is expensive for tourists compared to locals.

Batu Night Spectacular (BNS) is a captivating night theme park located in Batu city, nestled on the hillside of Mount Panderman. The park offers a range of attractions including 35 exciting rides like the Sepeda Udara (Air Bike), live shows, carnival games, and a vibrant market.
Great place to have someone with family. There are some lanterns that you can take pics. There is now go-kart available around 60k - 90k. Foods there are okay, there are 2 different food courts 1 inside nearby go-kart and the other one by the exit. Ticket without games is 65k if I'm not mistaken and with games (but not included with go-kart) is 125k (this price was on public holiday).

Great place, but for kids. please mind that if you're height not 120-140cm you only play little vehicles. It means you better buy ticket only not the full ticket package. because the officer will not explain it to you 😔... And I don't know why, we can only play once the vehicle, if you want more you need to buy ticket 😓.

Easy to locate! Went on a Sun night and it wasn’t too packed! Mostly locals, not much tourists so felt like a really authentic experience. A good mix of thrilling and chill rides, the weather was perfect for a night out here. Got the all access pass for 120k IDR and spent about 2 hours here. They had stalls selling drinks, snacks and a food court with live shows at selected timings. Definitely drop by if you’re in Batu!
Eugene A — Google review
The place isn't very big, but it has lots of rides—from kids to adults, everything’s pretty complete. I suggest checking what you want to try first, so you can decide if the all-access ticket is worth it. If you're not planning to try many rides, it's better to get regular tickets and pay for each ride. Kereta Terbang felt really fast and a bit scary—it looked like it might hit the signs because everything felt so close! 😅

While there may not have been a large number of attractions at night, there were definitely enough to keep our kids thoroughly entertained.

One day, I visited there. The place isn’t far away from Tumpang market, the temple is heritage from Medang Kamulan Kingdom’s (ims)... i was learned about medang kamulan kingdom, i enjoyed the temple. Lyk remind me about history on my high school. (Cmiiw)

Currently under maintenance / construction. No entrance fee but give a donation. I wish I'd find some more information about this temple. ...

This Temple is for remembering King Wisnuwardhana from Singhasari Kingdom (resign 1248 - 1268). The outer walls of Jago Temple's feet are engraved with reliefs such as Anglingdharma, Kunjarakharna, Arjuna Wiwaha, Parthayana, Kresnayana and fables. The sequence following the stories on the relief is to follow the rules of pradaksiana is to walk around the temple clockwise. I think m the temple needs to be restored and the reliefs on the walls of the temple are already damaged. It may be necessary to think about how to make a roof so that the relief of this very valuable temple is not lost. It is a pity because the temple reliefs are the best in East Java

Beautiful temple, good building and clean area. must here for more experience and historical knowledge from Singhasari Kingdom

It's actually a very spiritual place but it is situated around neighborhood. It made the temple as a tourist photo attraction rather than historical sites -- what it supposed to be seen as.

Best to visit in the morning as it gets a little hot in the afternoon. The temple has lots of stories on its walls, albeit some of the panels are incognisable since the stones are crumbling in places. They're read in counter-clockwise direction.

Madakaripura Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder located near Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in Indonesia. This 200-meter tall waterfall cascades down the walls of a lush, cylindrical canyon, creating a mesmerizing sight. Surrounded by verdant jungle and impressive rock formations, it offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. According to local folklore, it is believed to be the meditation site of Gajah Mada, an esteemed figure from Indonesian history.
It’s rather challenging to get here but it’s worth every step and your time! It’s really breath-taking and beautiful. I was in awe the entire time I was there. It’s quite risky but don’t worry, the local guides are very professional! They’re also good at taking photographs. Do bring a reliable raincoat as well as wear proper sandals for an enjoyable experience.
Edrie B — Google review
We had a great time visiting Madakaripura Waterfall! I came with my two kids and was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty kid-friendly. The track is beginner-friendly and manageable, though there are a few slightly tricky parts – nothing too difficult, especially with a guide or some help. The scenery is breathtaking, and the waterfall itself is stunning. The water is clean, clear, and refreshing. Just make sure to bring raincoat – you will get wet! 🌿 Even if you don’t, the locals also sell it. One tip: bring some cash and wear shoes that are suitable for trekking and okay to get wet – you’ll definitely need them. A wonderful nature adventure for families!

Fyi, you’ll be amazed seeing this view. I’ll suggest you to come between June-August because the guide said that it was the most beautiful moment to visit waterfall. I gave 5 stars for the services, the cleaness and ofc for the hospitality. My guide was Pak Uyik, he’ll help you to cross the stream and took a lots of photos. Thanks for the experience Madakaripura! I’ll visit again between that months so, I can get a better view 🫶🏼
Nuringtyas S — Google review
You’ll read a lot of scam about the place. In fact we really had to pay 150 k rupees per person (around 8 euro) for a short motorbike ride to the rainfall and got helmets and a local guide who brought us to the place. The money was more than worth it! You’ll get really wet, prepare!
Jonas H — Google review
Very beautiful and unbelievable. At first we just walked but when we noticed it was far away we just get a guide, and dont let them force you to pay huge money on guides if you dont want to pay it. (it is probably not mandotory but after a hard negatitonship, we just take the guide anyways because it was far away to walk.) Definitely bring sliper or open shoes and some raincoat or smth. But after all, it was worth to see.
Muhammed Ö — Google review
An absolutely breathtaking view, truly the most stunning waterfall I’ve ever witnessed. The journey to get there was fairly manageable. The hike was around 30 mins from the locket, with mostly flat tracks, a few shallow river crossings, and a couple of mild inclines. Nothing too demanding, especially with a guide and safety gear like helmets provided. Important tip: always check the weather forecast before your visit. When it rains, access to the waterfall is strictly prohibited due to the serious risk of landslides and flash floods. It’s better to postpone your trip than to put yourself in danger.
Dwi F — Google review
From the parking to the base took 5minutes ride by motorcycle. Then, 30mins hike to madakaripura waterfall We could only spent an hour because we arrived late.. We reached there around 3.45pm. entrance closing time 4pm.. But less crowd and easy to get spot for photo.. The water was really cold. Superb nice waterfall, will come early next time. Worth the visit.

Definitely one of the most amazing waterfalls I've ever seen in my life and I've seen lots. Truly a majestic sight for the eyes ❤️✨ The trekking is very very easy for a beginner and kaum rebahan jaman now. But the steps to the waterfall were quite slippery so tourists must be careful. In my experience, the entrance, guide, helmet and ojek fee was reasonable and the local people there were quite friendly and polite. We paid for IDR 410,000 total for 6 pax. Before we left, we had lunch in "warung makan mbak anis" and it was definitely the highlight of the day. The sambal was top notch, everything was as requested; they spicyness and everything. Then we had a whole coconut as a dessert which put the cherry on top to the whole experience of visiting Madakaripura. Recommended 😊😍

Nestled in a serene and verdant environment, Coban Pelangi Waterfall is a popular destination that can be reached by hiking. The waterfall offers impressive jungle overlooks and a tranquil atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. It is located about an hour east of Malang and requires an 800-meter walk from the parking lot to reach it. While the terrain may be slippery, the journey is well worth it as you take in the hidden beauty of this natural wonder.
This is one of the best waterfall I visit in Malang. The waterfall (Coban) is in deep valley of Bromo mountain. They called it Rainbow Waterfall, because in the noon, the sun ray is reflected with the water from the waterfall and created beautiful rainbow if you come in the certain time. But regardless of the rainbow, the view is breath-taking! If you visit Bromo National Park, you can spare your time to visit this. It’s only 15-minutes trekking to the waterfall!
Riska A — Google review
On the way back from our Bromo tour we were able to stop at this place. The walk downhill to the waterfall takes about 20-30 minutes and is mostly downhill. The waterfall is beautiful and has a rainbow in it when the sun is directly shining into it. You can take a motorbike transfer for 20,000 one-way or 35,000 both ways. Be aware that you still have to walk 5-10 minutes to the waterfall up and downhill from where the motorbike stops. Beautiful stop!

15 mins walk from entrance to waterfall. Local price is 15k and foreign 20k. Beware while trekking, my wife fell twice🫣 The waterfall look nice but the water is so dirty. As i went nearer to the water to dip my leg, it’s all muddy water. There is no place for u to shower and enjoy the waterfall. Only sight seeing to those who love nature. I would rate this place 2/5.

Coban Pelangi Waterfall Coban Pelangi is a waterfall located deep down in a gorge. The location is near the mount Semeru and one has to travel down a steep and well marked track for about 20 minutes (30 minutes to return) to reach the spectacular sight of water falling from a height of 110 metres. They say it offers a rainbow sight but that’s possible only when you are there at the right time when the Sun rays fall on the misty waterfall. Mostly people miss the rainbow show like I did. This site was the last item on my itinerary for the day. I started from Malang in the wee hours as the sunrise at Mount Bromo was the first thing to catch up with. Walking up to the rim of a roaring Bromo was a wonderful experience. After that we traversed the savannah and finally went to Coban Pelangi in the afternoon. The track is laid in concrete steps and rest shelters are provided along the way. A visit to this waterfall is recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip.

I came here on September 4, 2023. The place is so quiet, the waterfall views is very beautiful, there is a playground for kid, there are local people selling foods and beverages on the way to the waterfall, and the price is affordable. From entrance gate you need to walk about 30 minutes to the waterfall. If you go to Bromo mountain from Tumpang, Malang, I highly recommend you to visit this place ✌🏻
Bimo A — Google review
Super nice. Looks like a nice spot to camp if you have the equipment and are into that sort of thing (plus you would be nice and close to Bromo for a sunrise that way). We stopped on the way out from Bromo on the way back to Malang. Pressed for time, so we were glad you could ride down most of the way with the moto. They keep the area nice and clean. The pathway down is impressively all patio stones. Nice to walk or ride. The waterfall is a spectacular horse-tail style drop of about 30 meters.
Drew K — Google review
Breathtaking view, already provides toilet, mushola and selfie park. Notice that this waterfall is really far down there, you have to walk about 1 km down and go back upstairs. So, this place not recommended if you bring eldery people or a baby.
Khansa P — Google review
The place is nice. It took around 30 - 40 minutes walk to reach the waterfall. This waterfall is located near Bromo Mountain. For tourist there are many hostels nearby to stay for the night and rest after all the tracking in the nature.

Pura Luhur Poten Gunung Bromo, situated at the base of Mount Bromo, is a sacred site for the Tengger Hindu community. It hosts the traditional Yadnya Kasada Ceremony during full moon nights, where offerings are made to Sang Hyang Widhi. The temple's unique location amidst Whispering Sand adds to its allure. Visitors can witness Tengger ethnic group celebrations and rituals here.
Small temple for the villagers. We do lucky, be there when they celebrate a ceremony (new year?) so we got the festive vibe all over the temple. Feel blessed. 💐

Mount Bromo, located in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java Province, is a picturesque volcano with a stairway leading to its crater. To reach Mount Bromo, visitors can travel overland from Probolinggo to Cemoro Lawang and then hire a Jeep Hardtop to explore the seas of sand and the crater. The mountain is renowned for its stunning sunrise views, which can be enjoyed from the top of Penanjakan.
Very beautiful and grand. The sunrise is beautiful. Not really hard journey to go up. Driver driving jeep for most is the route. Bottom of the Mountain Bromo is with a lot of volcano ashes, better to wear a musk, even though guide says no.
Skye C — Google review
Would recommend doing it in the afternoon around 2-3 pm, we used the villagers’ path to avoid the park entrance fee. The hike down the path was slightly slopey, but once you reach the sea of sand it is all flat and sandy it’s a fairly easy walk.
Korrine K — Google review
Visiting Mount Bromo was one of the most breathtaking experiences of my life. The journey started early before dawn the air was cold, the stars still shining, and the excitement building with every step. As the sky slowly turned from deep blue to shades of pink and gold, the view of Bromo’s smoky crater appeared, surrounded by rolling hills and mist. It felt unreal, like standing on another planet. Watching the sunrise from the viewpoint was pure magic — the sun peeked over the horizon, lighting up the sea of clouds and painting the volcano in gold. The wind was cold, but the moment was warm with awe and peace. Every second felt worth the early wake-up and the climb. Mount Bromo isn’t just a place you visit it’s an experience you feel. The sound of the wind, the smell of sulfur, the endless view of nature’s power and beauty truly legendary. 🌋✨

no words, only emotions...We started early from Surabaya, then continued by jeep through the misty Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The highlight — a breathtaking sunrise above the clouds, followed by a scenic jeep ride and a hike to the crater of Mount Bromo itself.
Lazizbek E — Google review
If you are in Surabaya, you must climb Bromo. Best to go for a sunrise hike. The mountains and the view from the vantage point is incredible. It's such an amazing mountain with incredible folklore. This is a sacred mountain so please do not litter (there were a lot in the surroundings). There is also an altar of Ganesha where you can make offerings. There are also plenty of peddlers selling snacks and drinks. The climb is actually easy for physically fit people. But do note that there is a steep staircase climb to reach the mouth of the volcano. Alternatively, you may opt to rent a horse ride. In all, it's a must visit place.
Muhammad M — Google review
Mt. Bromo is a stunning place and definitely worth visiting, BUT... It's not well maintained, polluted and not much is invested into it's environment. See the picture how the fence around the crater looks like... Not very safe. I went during the day and it was not crowded. And obviously the horses don't get enough food. The horse ride is really not necessary...
M S — Google review
Beautiful crater and beautiful view of the sandy sea. Access by scooter or Jeep. Scooter parking 5000 rupees but you can park it in the same place as the Jeep (free). Then walk 10/15 minutes to get to the bottom of the stairs to climb the Mont. Entrance to the Mount = 250,000 rupees per person. Exorbitant and shameful price. HORSE ABUSE!!! Stop renting horses because you don't want to walk 15 minutes !!! Shame on Indonesians and tourists!!
Co C — Google review
I booked with a local tour group and had an amazing experience at Mt Bromo. The tour starts around midnight and we arrived at the viewpoint by 3 am to wait for the sunrise. The wait was a bit long since the sun comes up closer to 5 am and it was chilly, but you can rent a blanket for 25,000 IDR. The sunrise over Mt Bromo is absolutely breathtaking and the jeep ride through the desert to get there was exciting on its own. Our guides were wonderful and made everything smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Mt Bromo.

Mount Semeru, the tallest peak in Java, is a hiker's paradise that promises an unforgettable adventure. This active volcano offers a multi-day trek that rewards those who take on its challenging trails with breathtaking views. Starting from Surabaya, East Java’s vibrant capital filled with historical charm and modern attractions, adventurers embark on a two-day journey to the summit.
My first time on doing mountain climbing. The hardest one, but the most rewarding. The highest point of Java, with the most beautiful river. All in one package. 10/10 God creation.

As an experienced hiker I can tell you it’s not to hard except to the summit. I believe it’s about 900 m elevation to the top and all thru the volcanic sand which is like one step up and slide a half step back. You will start most likely in the night between 12am -3am depending on your shape and pase. It’s Getting cold in the night while hiking up so have the right clothes with you. View is Just insane, semeru erupts approximately every 15 minute, sometimes it takes up to 90 minutes and then the explosion and smoke will be bigger.

This is the best and most beautiful mountain in Indonesia for who loved adventure and hard tracks! You must try to summit and you will be able to try again and you will not never to forget how beautifully this place!

What you can ask for the best yet highest mountain in java island. The trip will take 16-20 hours of hiking. You can camp on ranu kumbolo on the first day and camp on kalimati on second day, and then go summit at late night on second day / early morning on third day. There are a lot of beautiful view that will satisfied your eyes, from basecamp to summit. Preparation should be extra for this hiking, eventho there are porter and warung on every post and campsite, there are toilet on ranukumbolo and kalimati, ranukumbolo toilet is fine but dont expect to much on kalimati. Watersource available on ranu kumbolo and near kalimati.
Alirsyad P — Google review
This was my first time experience for hiking. I couldn't say that is easy for the first timer. So, if you are first timer maybe you can try another easy-to-reach-mountain. I think the landscape is still okay from the starting point to Kalimati. But, the hardest part is from Kalimati to the mountain peak. From the starting point, it took around 2 days to reach the top of the mountain, depend on your ability. I need a lot of short break and camping in Ranukumbolo and Kalimati. Believe me, if you visit Ranukumbolo, you want to comeback again someday. During the hiking, the temperature is freaking cold, especially at night. I couldn't sleep well because of this even if I wore proper clothes and covered myself with sleeping bag. Since hiking become a popular activity in Indonesia, mountain especially in Java is more crowded than before. Badly, I decided to hike Semeru Mountain during long weekend. So, it was super crowded!!! Honestly it made me uncomfortable a little bit.
Evi S — Google review
During my stay in Indonesia I did 4 hikes but the Mount Semeru hike was the most challenging and rewarding by far! 2 days trek with awesome guide from Our Trip 1st tour operator. Day 1 is relatively easy arou d 10 km and 500 meter prominence during 6 hours. Day 2 starts at night and is around 5 km climb with 1,000 meters prominence at steep and rocky slope of Semeru. Headlamp wrongly recommend and one has to be really careful with falling rocks - apparently every year people get injured and die this way. The view on Mount Bromo and Java is very rewarding.

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, located in East Java, is a renowned tiered waterfall set in a lush canyon. Standing at an impressive 120 meters tall, it cascades down an amphitheater-style rockface and offers stunning views from two different vantage points. Accessible via a hiking trail, the trek can be challenging at times, so it's advisable to arrange for a local guide if you're not an experienced hiker.
It’s a breathtaking natural wonder with stunning waterfall formation with water flowing from different points of the cliff. The waterfall is surrounded by lush green tropical forest. The caves shouldn’t be missed as the way to the caves is passing through flowing stream of water which is in itself is unique experience. Highly suggest to hire a guide if you want to have stunning pictures. We were fortunate to have Pak Edi as our guide who is also an expert photographer making the trip memorable by capturing stunning pictures.. Highly recommend to visit this place

🌿 A Natural Wonder Worth Visiting Early 🌿 Tumpak Sewu, or the “thousand waterfalls,” is one of the most stunning natural sights in East Java. The view of the waterfalls framed by Mount Semeru, an active volcano, is absolutely breathtaking. With the lush green cliffs, countless cascades, and the mist rising from below, it feels like a hidden paradise. The locals are also incredibly friendly and welcoming. From offering directions to sharing stories, they make the journey feel warm and memorable. 🌋 Tips for Travelers: • Arrive early, ideally around 6:00–6:30 a.m. to enjoy the peaceful beauty before the crowds come in around 8 or 9. • Wear sandals or shoes that can handle water—your feet will definitely get wet. • The path going down to the waterfall is narrow, just enough for one person at a time. Be careful and patient when going up and down. Overall, Tumpak Sewu is an unforgettable experience—nature at its best, with the kindness of local people making it even more special. Highly recommended!

AIR TERJUN TUMPAK SEWU, LUMAJANG If you want to visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Indonesia, this place is a must to visit. Here’s my review: 💰 Entrance Fee : Locals 20k, Foreign Tourists 100k, Motorbikes 5k, Cars 10k. 🚘 Road Access : VERY EASY. Pros : ➕ One of Indonesia’s most beautiful waterfalls, with many water streams falling side by side like a giant curtain. ➕ Very very famous, even internationally. You’ll see many tourists here every day. ➕ There are three entrance gates : Panorama Lama (Old Panorama), Panorama Baru (New Panorama), and Malang Gate. You can go down the waterfall through Panorama Lama or Malang Gate. Now, Panorama Lama and Panorama Baru are already connected. ➕️ There’s a HIDDEN GEM SPOT that most people don’t know about, it is a small pond next to the food stall at the bottom. Rarely visited so you can even take a bath here. ➕ The track safetiness has been improved now, making it easier for visitors to going down the waterfall. ➕ Food stalls and toilets are available in the parking area, at the panorama, and at the bottom near the waterfall. ➕ Local guides are available at the ticket area. ➕ You can rent nonslip rubber shoes before going down. ➕ Ojek (Motorbike Taxi) are available for those who feels too tiring to go back to parking area from the panorama. Cons : ➖ The track path is very exhausting. You must bring isotonic drinks to prevent dehydration or fainting. ➖ There was once a management conflict, but it has now been resolved and the place seems successfully managed now. ➖ The waterfall area can flood during heavy rain. Do not go down when it’s raining, and if you’re already at the bottom when rain starts, go back up immediately. So that’s it, If you find my review helpful don’t forget to drop a like. THANKSS!!

As amazing as I imagined. One of the best spots in Indonesia. Tip: it is not dangerous to go down. Shoes are not needed. However, must have a plastic bag for your wallett and phone as near the waterfall it is like it's raining all the time, the moisture makes everything wet. It is recommended to get there in the morning until 10 to enjoy the best view.

An Unforgettable Encounter With Nature’s Masterpiece – Tumpak Sewu Waterfall If Earth ever sculpted a cathedral for the gods, Tumpak Sewu is that sacred hall. Hidden between the rugged cliffs of East Java, this waterfall doesn’t simply fall—it explodes into view like a natural symphony. The moment you step onto the viewpoint, your breath catches. Hundreds of delicate streams cascade down a crescent-shaped amphitheater, forming a veil so impossibly perfect it feels like a scene stolen from another planet. The descent into the valley is an adventure of its own—slipping over rocks, threading through bamboo ladders, and walking beside small rivers that whisper secrets of volcanic soil. And then you arrive at the base. Standing there is overwhelming. The sound is thunderous, the spray is icy, and the size humbles you instantly. The world narrows down to water, mist, and pure awe. It feels less like tourism and more like a baptism—an emotional reset delivered by nature at maximum volume. The air tastes different. The light looks different. You feel different. Tumpak Sewu isn’t just a waterfall. It’s a reminder that the world still holds magic big enough to silence your mind and fill your soul. If you ever want to feel small in the most beautiful way possible—go.

Tumpak Sewu is truly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Indonesia. If you visit Malang and don’t make the trip to Tumpak Sewu, you’ll definitely regret it. It’s such a peaceful place surrounded by raw, untouched nature, the sound of the water, the lush green around, everything feels magical. As usual, I rented a motorcycle from Malang and rode about 50 km to get there. The ride itself was enjoyable, with beautiful scenery along the way. I recommend coming early in the morning to really enjoy the view, as it can get quite crowded later in the day. There are two types of tickets: • One for the upper view, which gives you an amazing panoramic shot of the waterfall. • Another if you want to go down to the base of the waterfall, but be ready! It requires good fitness because of the steep and slippery stairs. However, the reward is 100% worth it, being at the bottom and seeing the waterfall up close is simply unforgettable. Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventurers. Don’t skip this one!

Tumpak Sewu is absolutely breathtaking! 🌊💚 Known as the “Waterfall of a Thousand Streams,” it cascades dramatically into a lush green canyon with Mount Semeru as a backdrop. The view from above is magical, but the trek down into the canyon is unforgettable—mist, roaring water, and towering cliffs all around. The hike can be challenging and a bit slippery, but it’s worth every step. Go early for softer light and fewer crowds. A must-visit for nature lovers in East Java!
