Jakhu Temple (also Jakhoo Temple) is an ancient temple in Shimla,Himachal Pradesh, India, dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Hanuman. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhu Hanuman temple on 4 November 2010. The temple is accessible by foot, horse, taxi or ropeway. The Jakhu Ropeway is an aerial lift that links a point near the centre of Shimla to the temple. It was developed by Jagson International Limited and opened in 2017.

Points to be noted 1. Please be aware of cabs for visiting temple. 2. Rates can be negotiated 3. Path is very odd hence ropeway and cabs are the only way to visit. 4. Cabs for temple are far away from mall road. Hence it is suggested not to take senior citizens and people having knee problems. 5. Once cabs drops you near temple there are stairs followed by escalator. 6. 20 rupees per person is the rate for 2 escalators which takes you to temple. Or one can go by stairs.

Visited Jakhu Temple in Shimla for Hanuman Ji’s darshan. We took a private van from the Clock Tower for ₹300 (up & down for two people), though there’s also an HRTC bus available for around ₹30 which comes every 30–50 minutes. There are a lot of monkeys around; they’re not harmful but you need to be careful with your belongings. Standing below the huge Hanuman statue and offering prayers felt truly divine and peaceful. A must-visit spot for a calm spiritual experience.”

Shikari Mata Temple is a peaceful and scenic place located at about 3,332 meters in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It can be reached by road with mesmerising views of entire janjheli & shikari valley . From the parking area, you need to do a short uphill hike of about 10–15 minutes to reach the temple. The place is surrounded by green meadows, forests and amazing mountain views. It’s not just a spiritual spot but also great for nature lovers. A perfect mix of beauty, calmness and a bit of adventure. Highly recommend!

Shikari Mata Temple sits atop on peak -about 3,359 m above sea level. High altitude: steep climb, over 500–600 stone steps. It’s a roofless temple dedicated to the goddess of hunters, Shikari Devi. It is said to be built by the Pandavas during their exile, the temple’s mythology stretches back to the mahabharat. Local devotees said, Despite a roofless shrine, the temple always remains snow-free, even during heavy winter snowfall—while the surrounding peaks are blanketed.

I’ve had the blessing of visiting this sacred place multiple times, and each visit has been a deeply energizing experience. The environment is pure and powerful—filled with positivity, peace, and the divine presence of Shikari Mata Ji. You can truly feel the spiritual energy in the air. One of the most memorable visits was when we trekked to the temple from Devidarh village. It’s a beautiful and challenging 9–10 km trek through a dense, serene forest. It took us around four and a half hours to reach the top, and every step felt like a pilgrimage in itself—soothing the soul and connecting us with nature and divinity. In 2025, I had the fortune of visiting again with my family to seek blessings from Mata Ji. The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) is a research institute in Shimla, housed in the former Viceregal Lodge, a must visit Historical place..built between 1884 and 1888 as the summer residence for the Viceroy of India. After India's independence, the lodge was renamed Rashtrapati Niwas (President's House). Loads of jaw dropping advanced features built e.g. Concealed Electrical wiring, advanced Fire fighting system, 200 years old working pendulum, walnut interiors. etc... Its amazing..!! It also contains rare archives, If you are visiting Shimla and keep interest in History...a must must visit. PS - Photography inside the building is prohibited.

We took the guided tour, which was informative and helped us understand the historical significance of each section of the lodge. However, I personally felt that the tour was a bit rushed. Even though the guide mentioned that we could take our time, we were quickly moved from one room to another. I would have loved to pause longer and really soak in the details — the furniture, the photos, and the artifacts that make this place so special. Despite that, it’s a must-visit attraction in Shimla. The architecture alone makes it worth the trip, and if you’re someone who appreciates history, art, or old-world charm, you’ll definitely enjoy it here. I’d recommend visiting early in the day to truly take in its beauty and peaceful surroundings.

Vicergal lodge named as 13 British viceroys used this placec as residence and used as their capital for 8months every year as summer capital. Draft of partition of India was discussed here. Dr S Radhakrishnan converted this to educational institute IIAS, now offers advanced studies in social science and humanities. British era history involved in this building. 137 years old now. But sad to see poor maintenance and upkeep of structure inspite of hefty entry fee to stay 30 mins inside the building as guided tour.

Situated at 2.5 kms from Shimla railway station, this used to the de-facto power base in India during the British times for 8 months. The first building in Shimla to get electricity, it also saw time as Independent India's first President House for around a decade. Guided tours are available but too many people are stuffed in them and one can't properly appreciate the amount of history (usually in form of images and lettering). A proper way would be to let people go in and browse at their own leisure. Alas, one can't have that. Only the ground floor is accessible (4 odd rooms) to public. There is a lawn and small garden outside as well.

Everything A grade, only to reach there especially for elderly is bit difficult.As vehicles are not allowed and got to walk steep road for 4 to 5 km is difficult . Govt should start e rickshaws for public.

This is the highest point of Kasauli. Took a cab all the way up to the air force sub station. From there it was a 30 min climb (would have been much faster if I was alone). It is just a lot of stairs but they are nicely paved and well maintained. Senior citizens and even 70+ year olds also come up if they take a lot of rest in between (there are places to sit and rest). The temple at the top has a peaceful vibe. There are monkeys here and you'll be instructed to not carry food in your hand. If you have the "prasadam" from the temple, carry them in your pockets. This is also known as the Monkey point or Manki point. Our cab driver told us "Manki" is not a spelling error but refers to the hindi word "mann ki" (something related to heart/soul) but not sure about it's authenticity. The main downside of visiting this place is that it is close to the air force station and all electronic devices are prohibited - meaning no photography at all. Most of the pics you see here on this pin are actually from different places in Kasauli (added erroneously ...smh). Some pictures of the temple can be taken from a km away from the Gilbert Trail if you zoom in. There is a paid locker where you submit your bags and devices and go for the hike.

Temple is located at 6500 feets. 300 steps to climb. Only taxis are allowed from Mall Road Car Parking or you trek for an hour. Mountain views are awesome. It is believed that during Lord Hanumans flight from himalayas bringing Sanjeevani booti his left foot was rested on this hill and hence the importance of this place. Mobiles, photography etc strictly prohibited 🚫 in this area.

Its a beautiful temple located on mountain top of kasauli. The visiting time is till 4pm all around the year and 1-2 is lunch time. There is no Entry fee. Taxi service is available from mall road to manki point for 200-250 rupees per person but I would highly recommend to cover the beautiful trail on foot as you get to enjoy the beautiful path. Its is hardly 3-4 kms and an easy trail. If you are lucky enough you get to see the valley covered with beautiful flowers specially during monsoon (mid July- September end). Or you can choose the small path going via sunset point which connects to manki point in between and is about 1-1.5kms and slightly steep. Phones, smart watches and bags are not allowed inside the temple area as it is a Cantt area and you can submit your belongings by paying some charges. Carry cash as you will be needing it for buying food/water inside the temple premises. After entering the cantt area, temple is half kilometer on top with 282 stairs. You can enjoy the view from top. Beware of monkeys if carrying food items.

the Sanjeevani Hanuman Temple is a must visit place in kasauli. Located atop a mountain, the temple is accessible only by foot. Be aware that it's situated within an Air Force station, meaning no mobile phones or electronic devices are allowed inside. A paid locker facility is available to store your belongings before you proceed. Security checks are mandatory before entering the temple area. Please note that many Google Maps photos for this location are inaccurate due to the no-phone policy; they often depict other Kasauli locations. Despite these restrictions, the temple itself has a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere and is definitely worth the trek. One important tip: monkeys are abundant, so don't carry food items or other stuff in your hànd and it's advisable to visit in a group.

Amazing experience, slightly tiring as you have to climb your way and it’s steep. You get a beautiful view of Kasauli from the top, as it’s the highest point there and certainly hold high religious value and gives peace. A must visit place, if you are in Kasauli. No entry fee, no electronic gadget or cameras allowed but they have a paid counter to deposit your belongings safely.

The Christ Church Kasauli situated close to the bus stand, was constructed by the the British family who founded the town of Kasauli itself. The church is a magnificent structure built in the shape of a cross. Set amidst a grove of chestnut and fir trees, the church offers quiet and tranquil atmosphere. Earlier the church was known by the name of Anglican Church. In the year 1970, the church was brought under the aegis of the CNI (Churches of North India). It is currently managed by the diocese of Amritsar. The Christ Church is the prime building in the centre of the heritage area of Kasauli town and as one enters the main town, this is the first building which comes to view. This church was previously an Anglican church and was founded in the year 1844,😇🙏

A very beautiful church built in 1800s by the Britishers. Marvellous architecture, very similar to other churches established by the Britishers in various hill stations across India. The church is open from morning till a little post sunset. The church has guards ensuring one doesn't litter it and create nuisance. There is a washroom and parking nearby. The church is very close to the basement parking at kasauli i.e. the moment you enter the hill station fee barrier. A must go, once you are here.

Rewalsar Lake is calm, beautiful, and a great place to just sit, chill, and stare into the distance like you’re solving the mysteries of life. The view is lovely, the breeze is nice… but let’s be honest — there’s not a whole lot to “do” here. And before you get any bright ideas — don’t feed the fish. Unless you’re carrying ₹5000 just for the fine. The fish look hungry, but the rules are stricter than school exams. There are some snack stalls nearby and a few places to try Tibetan food, which is actually pretty good and worth a bite. Overall: Great place to relax, click some peaceful pics, and enjoy the lake view — just don’t expect too much action. Come here when your soul needs a break, not when you’re craving an itinerary.

The lake is sacred amongst Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. There’s a monastery, a Shiva temple and a Gurudwara around the lake. The lake is beautiful and it has lot of fish inside it. The garden needs a bit of maintenance and cleaning. There’s a car parking inside the lake premises.

For the Haryana ADO exam, my center was Govt Model High School, Sector 25, Block B, Chandigarh. It is located around 8-10 Km from Chandigarh railway station. Outside the exam center, on the notice board, the roll number and sitting arrangement were displayed. Inside the gate, a security check-up was done. They have the facilities for submitting mobiles, bags etc. free of cost. But, they have asked us to remove all the threads, religious threads from our hands (but it was not written on the admit card). Anyway, they have guided us along the route to our respective classroom. Drinking water and bathroom facilities are available. On the black board, the sitting arrangement, date, center details etc. are mentioned. Sir checked our admit card and identity proof. They have distributed question papers with a slight delay of 5 minutes (They have provided an extra 5 minutes for the exam for this reason). The exam was conducted properly without any disturbance. Overall, this center was good. Thank You! 🙏

Panjab University is one of the best university in the north India. I am doing Masters in Computer Applications from this university. University life is really good. University conducts many events especially in February- March. This university is ranked in world ranked universities also. Really grateful to be a part of this university. This university is my dream university and studying here is like dream came true. If you get chance to get admission here, just go for it. It is better than any private university, teachers are really good.

The temple is clean and well-kept, and the evening aarti is truly beautiful, it fills you with a sense of peace. The people there are warm and welcoming too. Whether you're spiritual or just looking for a quiet place to reflect, it's definitely worth a visit.

ISKCON Temple Chandigarh is a peaceful and divine place. When I visited in October 2025, some construction was in progress, but the temple’s beauty and serenity were still enchanting. The atmosphere is calm, and inside parking makes the visit convenient.

This iskcon temple is in sector 36 of chandigarh. Aarti times vary in summer and winter. The kirtan starts around 7:15 PM in summer and after that the Geeta path by prabhuji. The place is really abode of God.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji came to this place 4 times. After winning the Battle of Bhangani on his way back to Anandpur Sahib, via Gurdwara Sri Baoli Sahib Dhakauli and Gurdwara Sri Nadha Sahib Panchkula, Guru Gobind Singh arrived here. At the time a bhatha (kiln) was situated. It was burning at full capacity. Guru Ji asked the bhatha labourers about a place he could rest. Knowingly or unknowningly the labourers pointed towards the bhatha. Guru Ji directed his horse (Neela) to step on the extremely hot kiln. At once the bhatha cooled down and Guru Ji's horse hoof left a mark (a hoof print which can be seen at the Gurdwara). One of the labourers informed Chaudhary Nihang Khan, the owner of the bhatha, who was in his Qila at the time. He rushed to the bhatha and to his astonishment saw Guru Gobind Singh sitting on the bhatha. Chaudhary bowed his head in front of the Guru and asked for a pardon. Chaudhary then took Guru Ji to his fort. On the following day, Guru Gobind Singh and his Singhs proceeded to Anandpur. During Guru Gobind Singh's second visit, Guru Ji came to this place for the engagement of Alam Khan, Chaudary Nihang Khan's son. On Guru Gobind Singh's return from Kurukshetra, Guru Ji stopped here for his third visit. After Guru Gobind Singh left Anandpur for the final time, Guru stopped here for his forth and final visit. He asked Nihang Khan to look after Bhai Bachittar Singh as Bhai Ji had been mortally wounded. As a huge mughal force was chasing Guru Ji, he left. But before leaving, Guru Ji provided Nihang Khan with a Sri Sahib, a katar and a shield. The items can be viewed at the Gurdwara and Bhai Bachittar Singh's shastaars can be viewed at Gurdwara Sri Shaheed Ganj Bhai Bachittar Singh in Kotla Nihang, Ropar. Prakash Diwas of 1st, 5th and 10th Patshahi, Sangrand with Amrit Sanchar, Jor Mela from 1st Poh to 4th Poh and the anniversary of Baba Jiwan Singh Ji on 11th are organised here.

Ticketing could be improved, galleries could have more descriptions for further reference, sound from adjacent galleries distract.

Everything so beautifully designed, executed various pavilions, it is totally mesmerising. Artist put so much effort to connect all dots well. But sadly, lighting design is upto 5% thus absolutely flawed. Very first three story pavillion has day & night theme depicting 24 hours life in Punjab from rural to urban, from shop to home to all religious places but time for night is longer than the day thus you are unable to see the beauty and hard work out by artist/s and from behind guards keeps whistling, insisting you to keep moving (though it was not crowded at all!!)!! And this fault in lighting design is everywhere, less or more, you can't even read some display texts!! Ita worth visiting multiple times. Required time duration to complete it - 3-4 hours. Toilets - lavish and clean. Timing -1000 to 1630 (Monday Closed). Timing must be recieved, must be open ar 0900.

This museum represents the rich history of Sikhism. Architecture, paintings and arts... everything is wonderful... i visited this place in the month of dec 24 note- it's opening and closing timings are different in summer and winter.

It is in Bhakra Village in Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh (India) It is the highest gravity dam in Asia. The dam forms the Gobind Sagar reservoir. To visit the dam you need to get a pass and register your entry. We went there on Sunday and there was no crowd at all. We had seen the dam from outside because we didn't have visiting passes. You can also visit a few popular temples near the place.

A big and spectacular dam. Ysu can drive beside the dam and see it's beauty, If want to go on the top of the dam then you need to take permission from the local authorities to visit. Photography is not allowed at the Dam but from distant you can take beautiful pictures of the dam, Like I have done. A devine place Nainadevi is also around 20 km from there.

The dam is spectacular. You need to take permits from the local authorities to visit. There is an office at the checkpoint for the same. Also, while the signboard are displayed on the route, it is somewhat tricky to find the correct route. It is better to confirm with the locals on major turns. Photography is not allowed at the Dam but there are a few locations before and after where beautiful pictures of the dam facade and the reservoir can be clicked. If you are also visiting Nainadevi (20 km / 30-35 minutes from there), it is better to start at the temple and view the dam on the way back as the time needed for the dam is not too much.

This is not exactly the same, but this is where the water is released towards from the dam. This picturesque place is while coming back from Shkaitpeeth Maa Jwala ji towards Amb Andaura . There are boating point in this area, but you have to drive for like 6 KM more to reach boating point. Don’t pay extra for boating. Private boats ask for like 600 to 800 per boat. Must go once and feel the devine power. Havan continue there non stop. I have seen approximately 10-15 shed dedicatily design for the Havan and all were occupied. There are so many counters for Havan inquiry Management: I have never suvh management and cleaningness so far anywhere. Too much clean to sit at any place and you would find clean. The office of महंत itself indicates that how the management is good there. Even there is coffee cafe inside temple and look so good. Each Temple management must visit once to learn how to organise. visited Chintpurni Mata Temple in Amb, Una, and it was a truly blissful experience. We reached there by taxi, the road was smooth, though about half a kilometer before the temple it became a little sloppy. From the drop point, it was just a 10-minute walk to the shrine. The walk itself felt divine, surrounded by serenity and devotees. The temple is one of the Shakti Peethas, believed to be the place where the feet of Goddess Sati fell, making it a site of immense historical and spiritual importance. The aura inside the temple was filled with positive energy, giving me a deep sense of calm and strength. Overall, the visit was peaceful, well-organized, and spiritually uplifting. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking blessings, inner peace, and a connection with the divine.

Its a beautiful place depicting the famous and fabulous culture of punjab... They charge you at the entry and then everything inside is free of cost..there are plenty of things to do inside... they have live dance performance also... Its a vast area..you will require a lot of time to visit every corner of this place..

The thali was good however there was no fresh safed makhan or makki ka roti or even gulab jamun. The chai was poor because there was no option for no sugar the ladies who made the parantha were never listening to my grandmother who is seventy years old and kept giving her rotis not fresh tawa ka parantha. And the dancing was great however the music is deafening. However the kulfi, dhai Bhalla were amazing, the magic show was great however the chuski was too sweet, I would not recommend bringing the elderly to eat the snacks as it was way too sweet. In the whole Havel was good however this rangale punjab was poor as they didn’t have that many Punjabi food

Great place to enjoy evening. Staff is very nice and food at stalls and main room was awesome. Everything we tasted was superb. It’s an entertainment for family of all ages. Only problem was with astrologer who seems to be a fraud….. used a same old story which frauds use to extract money from you by scaring you. We saw this in Chokhi Dhani Jaipur too but there the guy was good and gave us option.

Locatuon is good right at the highway. Inside atmosphere is good but areawise is not so big. Cultural programme is great. Punjab old cluture is displayed everywhere which is good to see if you have come for the first time Inside a big restaurant is there which is included in the entry ticket but frankly I didnt like the food inside and the biggest reason is - We had so many small meals/ food around the restaurant ( stalls everywhere like chaat, candys, ice cream etc) inside and we got full and there is no place left for the dinner. We suggest you to have the fresh baked roti with makkahn and chutney stall and enjoy other small meals ( chaat, pani puri, candys, ice cream kulfi, aam panna jaggery tea etc.), for diner you can opt after sometime post your digestion. Evrything is included in the entry ticket. Overall I feel the entry ticket 1000 is over priced as the place is not so big and also the food option is limited. One time visit is good.

Very nice experience at the spiritual place. We stayed at the dharamshala inside the temple premises. For 900 rupees per day, we were given a big room with AC and geyser in the bathroom. Rooms were clean compared to other dharamshalas. It takes around 90 minutes to fully cover all places inside the temple. Mornings and evenings are the best time to visit the temple. It's a bit crowded in the evening. Staying in Dharamshala was a great experience as we can visit the temple any number of times effortlessly. The management personnel were very helpful.

My parents say they are hooked to this place from Generations. So we have got to know this place from family only and we tend to visit twice or thrice a year. Whenever some marriage happens in my family, it is custom to donate bedsheets blanket and pillows here. Reason I don't know but that's what we are supposed to do as told by my great grand maternal mother. So recently we did that. Place is hub to nature. One can easily spot the peacocks here and all the Flora and fauna. The place has alot of importance. They say under guruji one pet dog specifically female dog just ate almost 50 KG opium in front of jahangeer जहांगीर badshah and then That king alloted the whole space wherever that dog went. Lot of parking space is available but the link road as of today was under construction which connects pandhori to national highway. Langar is available nearby 1 to 2PM. Tea snacks will be available from 4 PM. SBI bank and ATM are available here for working days only.One has to bow heads in front of Baba mahesh das ji temple while Coming and going also then only the visit will be completed. Market offers prasad which you can take along to temple. Do come and explore this place. Students cannot come without teachers. People come with newly married couples and get blessings of guruji. People come here to get the names of newly born babies. Visit and enjoy.

This place is made to understand the basic concepts of science in a very interesting way. You must visit there once at this place. Very large area, I learned different topics of science there and also understand the basic structure and functioning of human body. It takes 5-6 hours to see all the things. Different topics are- Climate change, Laser show, Flight Simulator, Dome theatre and many more.

Nice place to visit. Particularly interesting for children. It is costly in terms of tickets and entertainement. But with the various activities, toy train, boating, shows, huge area, dinosaur park and children enjoyment, with paying the price. Some area was closed today but enough for the day. Normally they ask for package, you can take package which usually costs lower. There are many scenic area, if you like photography then I believe you should plan according for the day light or Sun light directions for best shots.

Beautiful, humbling place. There was so much to experience from the Golden temple to the jora service to the langar service to the gold sewa workshop. The museums on-site are also there to serve as a reminder of the resilience that Sikhs have had to have to survive and become a large community. There are many gurudwaras and soravars (lakes) on-site to take amrat as well. To be able to sit under the trees that some of the Gurus had done so was also wonderful. A beautiful place to visit.

A divine place. I have almost zero knowledge of Sikhism. But when I stand in th3 queue for 4 hours that is when I felt the presence different energy. I have been to Kashi, Ujjain and every where u have to stand in queue. A lot of pushing touching, but here people are standing together with families but with pure energy and devotion to "Guru"🙏
