Seven Sisters Waterfall

Mentioned on

Waterfall
Nature & Parks
Seven Sisters Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder located in different parts of the world. One such waterfall can be found on the way to Lachung from Gangtok, in North Sikkim. The waterfall consists of seven separate streams cascading around 250 meters into the Geirangerfjord, creating an awe-inspiring sight. Visitors are captivated by the beauty and tranquility of this natural attraction.
Geiranger is deservedly a UNESCO world heritage site. We took the 3 hr Panorama tour bus and money well spent. Things to know: -bring snacks and something to drink as nothing is available during the bus tour; - at the bathroom breaks go quickly to the BR as there are only two stalls for ladies; - if you go during the late fall (end of Sept-begin of October) be prepared with layers as it can be warm in the valley and wintery in the mountain. Beautiful place to visit!
Maria V — Google review
Awesome experience to see it from the kayak :)
Daniel B — Google review
The waterfalls were gorgeous (as all waterfalls are). They are a little tricky to find as you have to either ride a boat, or hike, or we also saw a few people kayaking. We didn't have time to take the hike or kayak so we opted to view the falls as we were on the ferry to our next location. If you are going to travel by ferry in Geirangerfjord, I would recommend taking this approach to seeing the falls.
Sarah B — Google review
The Seven Sisters in Norway is an absolutely stunning place — a true paradise for anyone wh The towering waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, and peaceful fjord scenery create a breathtaking expe start to finish. It's one of those rare destinations where you can simply stand still and feel surn beauty. A must-visit for nature lovers and adventurers alike.
Massih M — Google review
Stunning. It is hard to believe the Seven Sisters is only the 39th tallest waterfall in Norway at 410-meters (1,345 feet)! The tallest of the seven has a free fall that measures 250 meters (820 feet). The waterfall is located along the #geirangerfjord which has more waterfalls than we could count.
John T — Google review
Breathtaking views!! I went in Late September and being on the water, it was a little chilly - warm clothes are recommended!
Melody H — Google review
The Seven Sisters is an interesting feature but not an exceptional one in this most beautiful environment. They're part of this majestic fjord and, really, you find quite a few more impressive spots. I guess they are most spectacular at certain times of the year, maybe in May/June, when the snow is melting and thus feed the waterfalls with a greater volume of water.

Even thoug the weather was cloudy and rainy, it was fantastic and unforgettable.

Geirangerfjord is a must-visit destination in Norway, offering breathtaking views of snowy mountain peaks, lush vegetation, and cascading waterfalls. It is accessible via the Trollstigen, one of the National Tourist Routes. A visit to this UNESCO World Heritage site promises an exhilarating experience with its deep blue waters and steep cliffs adorned with thundering waterfalls.
Can’t rate it less than five stars despite the number of tourists. The boat ride is recommended as the best way to see both the cascades and fjord, as well as the various hiking trails nearby to get different angles of the fjord and meet some friendly llamas on the way.
Ana C — Google review
This place is stunningly beautiful. The boat cruise around the fjord was so awesome. Vistas of majestic snow-peaked mountains with cascades falling off the cliffs appeared before us. I could see that all the tourists were awe struck by this magnificent sight. Norway is famous for her fjords and rightly so. I recommend strongly a tour of Norway for those who love scenery.
Andrew Y — Google review
Breathtaking views. Amazing people. Exciting tours by car/bus or boat. Is a small place, but a beautiful nature wonder. We took a tour with the bus to the skywalk in Dalsnibba at 1500m. There is a suvenir shop, toilets and you can buy food as well. We took a tour with the bus on the Eagles road as well and is a stop to take pictures of the 7 Sisters waterfalls. The place is crowded, but it does really matter because you forget about everything when you get a glimpse of the amazing landscape.
Roxana T — Google review
What a breathtaking scenery! 😍 Every aspect is stunning like the picture created by photoshop. I went there by car and hiked to the top to see waterfall. I visited in June and the weather is great 👍
Phanida N — Google review
this fjord is an UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE and its very beautiful. the only drawback about this place is that it is always crowded and there are always lots of cruises in the area. i would recommend you to stay in this beautiful town to actually enjoy the beauty of this fjord. And do not do the fjord cruise, instead do RIB ride which is more thrilling and exciting !!
Ankur K — Google review
One of the nicest Fjords, it's worth starting the day early to take a breath of this beautiful country. I would recommend to come first with a cruise ship to get a first impression and then later on by car on a individual itinerary, to get a much deeper look into the history of Gairanger and the other Fjords. Keep in mind hat Norway is an expensive country but worth it to see once in a lifetime.
Dominic C — Google review
It is an enjoyable cruise and amazing view of the Geirqnger Fjord, Seven Sisters and surrounding mountains. We were told that it is remarkable that there is still a lot of snow in the mountains. It is very breezy and please wear warm clothing even its Spring time (visited on 14th May 2023, Sunday). Another Fjord that you should not miss it.
WS — Google review
Easily the most beautiful fjord, with waterfalls all round. Impressive view from top (resembling Big Bend in Grand Canyon). Too bad we had overcast weather nonstop (typical for most rainy region in Europe)

A small beautiful center situated by lake Oppstryn and surrounded by dramatic mountains. Interesting botanical garden to learn about some native plants, trees, and flowers that represent the local flora and amazing people to inform you about the area. (Last year's photos)

Amazingly friendly staff who'll happily give advice and help you out. This place also has a nice exhibition and all the information you'll need before visiting glaciers. There is also a nice selection of maps here. As well as a nice cafe and useful facilities. Big thumbs up! Go here first!
Tormod E — Google review
As it was my birthday while we were in the are Mrs Mono kindly bought me a helicopter flight over the national park, mountains, lakes and fjords which offered breathtaking views of everything in the area, but especially the Jostedal Glacier. For security reasons, we weren't allowed to fly directly over the glacier, but we got as close as possible, and I would recommend this extra without a doubt - I would have sacrificed dinner and drinks were it a question of money - a once in a lifetime experience!
Mark J — Google review
It was a little small, but it was nice. Also nice souvenirs and a great movie about this Fjord, which’s also in the Dutch language available. Lovely people working here and the garden outside was also nice with a great view.

Fossevandring Geiranger

Mentioned on
6 lists
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Fossevandring Geiranger is a leisurely 10-minute walk from the small town's port, making it easily accessible for visitors who prefer not to take an excursion. The metal and concrete trail runs along the river, offering several viewpoints and well-maintained paths. It takes about 30 minutes to descend from the museum to the fjord and around an hour to ascend.
This waterfall can be reached on foot from the centre of Geiranger with a quite easy uphill walk, that takes about 15 minutes. Once there you can enjoy a very nice view on the fjord and then descend along the waterfall on a boardwalk made of 327 steps.
Francesco X — Google review
Beautiful place, it's a must do to appreciate the greatness of nature. Must do the cruise trip to see it's greatness.
Cezar A — Google review
Numerous reviewers have already described Geiranger's wonderful waterfall walk in some detail. I’ll just add (or repeat) a few bits of info along with photos. 1. We avoided summer (mid-July) crowds by doing the walk in the evening -- after 8pm when parking is free but still daytime brightness. As the photos show, we saw only a dozen or so other visitors over the hour we spent enjoying this walk. 2. To get to the waterfall walk from Joker, head to the campervan park and turn left along the paved road (Homlungsvegen), then stay left onto the wide gravel path next to the rapids. You soon pass the picturesque concrete building beside the rapids; the metal stairway begins soon after. 3. Parts of the walk hug the rapids and falls, so visitors might get sprayed with water. 4. We started from the waterfront (not Fjord centre), applying the old rule that hikes are more fun when they begin going up, then return going down. The walk isn't strenuous, but climbing 327 steps up does require some effort. 5. We visited the fjord centre the next day as a separate event. That made the waterfall walk more leisurely and gave us ample time the next day to enjoy the fjord centre and the nearby short woods walks. 6. Return by the same waterfall walk, unless it is crammed with visitors. The main Geiranger road is narrow, busy, and doesn't have a footpath. (I drove up and down it several times.)
Steve M — Google review
This is a simple walk right on the edge of town that just gets better and better the higher up you go. The walk begins at the camping area just beyond the small supermarket and the first falls can be seen from a relatively easy, and flat path. After that you take a series of staircases up to each new set of cascades, and as you climb higher the falls gets better, as does the view back over the village to the fjord. The final cascade is the smallest, and from here you can head up to the hotel and cafe, or turn around and head straight back down, enjoying the great views of the fjord.
Stephen S — Google review
Extremely beautiful and scenic trail. If you go up the stairs you will get the most beautiful views. We went up the stairs taking pictures along the way. Be prepared to get a lot of cold water mist. Afterwards you can walk down on the road and stop at the church for spectacular views of town. There is also a short cut from the end of the church plot.
G. S — Google review
Absolutely, Kimberly! Here’s a mid-length review of Fossevandring, the waterfall walk in Geiranger—perfect for a travel journal or social media post: --- 💦 Fossevandring – Nature’s Staircase in Geiranger Fossevandring is a stunning waterfall walk that blends wild Norwegian nature with sleek, modern architecture. The trail follows the powerful Storfossen waterfall via a series of metal staircases and platforms, offering dramatic views and the soothing roar of cascading water. It’s an easy-to-moderate hike, taking about 20–30 minutes depending on your pace, and is accessible from the town center or the Norwegian Fjord Centre. What makes it special? You’re not just walking beside a waterfall—you’re practically in it. The spray kisses your skin, and the see-through grating underfoot adds a thrilling touch. Along the way, you’ll find photo-worthy viewpoints, benches for reflection, and even nighttime lighting for a romantic stroll. Whether you’re arriving by cruise or staying nearby, Fossevandring is a must-do experience that captures the essence of Geiranger’s natural beauty.
Kimberly H — Google review
Lovely spot to visit, a short walk from the centre of Geiranger, there are stairs taking you up directly adjacent to the waterfall, you cam either come back down the same way, or alternatively take the road route (and stop at the church on the way for more photo opportunities).
Rich C — Google review
We enjoyed the walking trail and the water fall. The light breeze and water vapor from the water fall was a good refreshing while walking up to the highest point of the water fall. This is an easy trail, and it's takes around 25 minutes to complete. You could view the bay from the highest point Don't miss it while you are in Geiranger.

We spent a whole day here last week. Eventhough it was more toen 25 degrees our kids 13, 11, 9 years old could not stop climbing and zipline=ing. There where obstacles in all levels so all ages had fun. We as parent as well. We even saw another Family with a 5 and 2 year old in a harnas. Good values for money. I can recomend it to everybody. And would go back if we are in the neighborhood.
Quiz W — Google review
A lot of fun for the entire family. They have something for kids (if they can walk they can do it with some help), for non trained adults and even for climbers/trained adults. They do not sell much food, only hotdogs, but there are grills and tables/benches so it is recommended to bring your own food. There are only two toilets and not much parking. On a sunny day you need to order a ticket online before 10am because they have a limit on about 150 people and it does fill up. It is anyway recommended to do that because it is cheaper.
ChiliTheDog — Google review
We had the most amazing time!! My 11 year old and 6 year old both had so much fun and we were there from opening to closing. Tip: bring extra socks if your kids want to do the bouncy house/jumping activites as some of the surfaces are still covered with dew in the morning! But my kids didn't care! The staff was so friendly and helpful too. An experience we will never forget!
Rachel S — Google review
Four level of difficulties. It is good for couple of hours to half day trip where you can bring your own food and cook. You can also visit near by strawberry farms and buy fresh delicious strawberry. The place is great. I gave the place 4 stars for two reasons: 1. There are two toilets that are shared, and located at the entrance of the park. 2. Food are limited to snacks, coffee and Ice cream.
Khalil A — Google review
A great place to spend time with friends and/or family, from young to old. Activities involve, climbing, zip-lining, jumping, dangeling, all in safety of straps and hooks connected to a safety line which goes trough all courses. There are activities on the ground for people less prone to hights. Obstical course, inflated billow to jump on, bow and arrow. Tables have been scattered around a small hutt who can provide cover for the sun or rain. In front of the hutt there is s grill that can be used by anyone. I found three downsides: Prizes goes by hight, so everyone over 140cm will pay full prize. It can get pretty crowded, and wating on a platform in a tree can become a reality. They don't open the park before 11:00 (am).
Henry V — Google review
Not happy with the park. Very expensive, and you need to climb with your kids otherwise there are a few lines available for them. You pay even for the accompany of your kids. No food inside, tea coffee and self grilled sausages.
Sati S — Google review
Very nice place for a sunny day. One issue that kept happening is that the kids did not gain enough speed (or simply are too lightweight) to reach the end of the zip lines and got stuck in the middle, the crew came assisting every time. This happened too many times!! . But all in all- we had a very good time.
Hadas C — Google review
A lot of good zip-lines. Green and blue courses most fun, red is physically challenging not that much mentally.

Dalsnibba Utsiktspunkt is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking breathtaking vistas of Norway's stunning landscapes. Perched high above, it boasts the Geiranger Skywalk, which offers the highest fjord view accessible by road. The journey to this viewpoint can be thrilling, especially for those with a fear of heights! Once you reach the top, you're greeted by awe-inspiring panoramas of snow-capped mountains and dramatic fjords that will leave you speechless.
Amazing viewpoint. Felt like a bird's view while watching from the view point. There is this amazing feeling that brings calm but may also make some people scared. Surely not suitable for people with fear of heights.
Anjhana K — Google review
Easy place to miss if you do not know about it and you are rushing to the Geiranger itself... as I did two times already. It is a toll road with crazy hairpin turns next to the steep cliffs, so it might get bit scary if you are driving really close to the edge of the road. But the views... along the whole way up to the top and then the view on Geiranger itself, speechless and definitely worth a visit and worth every krone. We spend two hours there just watching and enjoying the views. And it is possible to get there with your caravan and spend a night there for bit more krone and enjoy the sunset and sunrise.
Milan P — Google review
Dalsnibba — what a view! You need to pay a small ticket fee to drive up, but once you reach the top, it’s worth every krone. I really enjoyed the view and the drive itself.

Well…. What more can I tell? It was breathtaking view! Everyone born in Norway has to visit once in their lifetime! Because the visit will make you understand why Norway is so proud of their fjord! Also making you proud to be a Norwegian no matter what’s your background as long you’re born in Norway.
Timmy T — Google review
My visit to the Dalsnibba Viewpoint was truly a remarkable experience and easily one of the most memorable moments of my trip through Norway. The panoramic views from the top were absolutely stunning—so vast and dramatic that it almost felt surreal. From this elevated vantage point, you can see deep into the Geirangerfjord valley and across rugged, snow-capped peaks, offering a perspective that captures the sheer majesty of Norway’s natural landscape. One of the most unique and surprising parts of the visit was getting to experience snow in the middle of summer. Being able to touch fresh snow and even witness a gentle snowfall while surrounded by greenery below was an unexpected and magical contrast. The gift shop and café at the summit were a welcome surprise as well. I had the chance to try one of their Finnomin rolls, and it was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and perfect with a hot drink while enjoying the chilly mountain air. Dalsnibba combines the thrill of high-altitude views with a touch of cozy hospitality, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the region. It’s a place where you can truly feel on top of the world.

Don’t skip this stop! We almost drove right by but I’m glad we didn’t. It’s a beautiful spot with scenic views and a powerful and unique waterfall. It’s well worth your time. There are bathrooms, a cafe, and a small gift shop.

Nigardsbreen is a glacier located in Norway that offers guided tours onto the ice and features an education center. Accommodations nearby include Jostedal Hotel which provides basic, clean and comfortable lodging with good food, and Nigardsbreen Lodge where guests can enjoy traditional lodge amenities with private rooms and shared bathrooms. The glacier is known for its stunning beauty, especially the blue ice which can be accessed via a 45-minute hike.
Up close with a glacier after a short hike is always sweet. It was an overwhelming feeling to see this glacier. The hike was around 2.5 miles roundtrip through a rocky terrain. A boat cuts the trip by taking you to a close point. Overall a good way to spend a few hours.
Lisa H — Google review
Amazing to see the glacier and surroundings here! We didn’t take the boat because it only saves you 1km (the easy part). The other 1,5-2kms you have to hike up anyway. There are stairs and ropes provided but it isn’t the easiest of hikes. Worth the effort 🌟
Marie M — Google review
Amazing experience. It’s not just hiking! You may enter the glacier on your own or you can buy a trip with experience guide. If you prefer go on your own you must have crampons!

Wonderful place. We took the glacier tour, it was amazing
Avi C — Google review
The glacier is definitely one of the most beautiful in Norway. You can hike all the way to the blue ice. About a 45min hike. Don't take the boat as it won't safe you any time as it is still another 30min walk from the pier. The best light for the blue ice is in the morning. This place gets really crowded in the summer months so come early or late.
Nils W — Google review
1 hour to glacier from parking lot, medium difficult.

We had a great time at this glacier trip. We booked a kayak trip and guide but if youd like to walk to the glacier ( not climb it or get too close to it) you can do it by yourself. The road to the beginning of the hike has a very small fee toll. We went with an amazing guide ( finn) and group. Even with rain and cold, this trip was unforgettable.

My husband and daughter did the body rafting with FjordActive. I did not participate (well, water in Norway is fresh and I have my temperature standard 😉), but from their comments, I can tell you it was a great experience. Their Norwegian guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive to everyone - despite the physical level or age. His explanation was very clear (equipment, schedule, activities, safety, pictures etc). He also did his best to reassure my daughter when she got into a little panic before the very last jump - nothing difficult, but this was the only place you couldn't skip and had to jump into the water. Highly recommended! Don't hesitate a minute!

Our trip was truly amazing! Their goal is to take people to the most remote parts of the glacier to experience stunning natural beauty and it turned out to be exactly that, and even better. The groups are small, the guides are fantastic. They are experienced, educated, fluent in English and will make sure you are feeling safe and will provide you with crampons, ice axes, and harnesses. The glacier changes rapidly, so every hike is unique, and you’ll be amazed by the breathtaking scenery. Special thanks to our guide Ole!

I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It was our first time on a glacier, and we had an amazing, impressive experience. Many thanks to our guide Michael – he was very attentive, cared about our safety, and made sure to find truly beautiful spots for us. We really enjoyed everything. The tour takes about 7 hours. The route is NOT difficult. Even someone who is not very athletic or well-trained can manage it. There is enough time to rest along the way. Everything is perfectly organized by the team.

We absolutely loved it. The guide was really nice and knowledgeable, we felt safe the whole time and we also loved that he would stop every once in a while to tell us a story (I think the real reason was for the people to rest). The explanations, the safety instructions, the boat ride made this experience 100% recommended. He would always ask for a feedback from us, making sure we are all safe and comfortable and enjoying it. At the way back we stopped near the tipi to drink coffee or tea

Amazing private glacier tour with Ole and Fjord Active! We were the only ones signed up for the glacier tour, which meant we could explore so much more than in a larger group, where things move slower. Ole guided us expertly and showed us all the hidden spots on the glacier. Walking on the glacier was definitely one of the highlights of our entire trip to Norway, truly the cherry on top! What’s even more impressive is that Fjord Active is the only agency allowed to lead tours to this part of the glacier because they own the land and have the exclusive permit. This means you’re truly alone on the glacier, making the experience even more special. Huge thanks to Ole and the whole Fjord Active team — we wish you continued success in this amazing work!

Incredible experience! Would recommend everyone who wants to do a glacier hike in Norway! Our guide Marcus was very experienced and explained the whole tour, the equipment and the facts about the glacier very professional. He was very caring that everyone felt safe. We started with a 20min boat ride. After we had a 1.5h walk to the point where we got our glacier equipment (clamps, ice axe, harness). Fro there it was about 15min to the edge of the glacier where we began walking on the ice for around 2 hours. On the way back we also got some coffee and hot chocolate before we head back with the rib boat. The trip will stay in our memories forever - just breathtaking to make this experience! Thanks a lot Marcus!

Adventure Tours Norway offers an incredible way to explore the stunning landscapes of Norway, whether you choose to drive along "The Romantic Road" or rent bikes from Eplet in Solvorn or Skjolden. The cafe serves as a perfect starting point for hiking adventures, including the scenic trek up to Feigefossen waterfall. For those seeking thrills on water, their rib boat tours provide exhilarating experiences with breathtaking views and lively guides who enhance the journey with music and enthusiasm.
Absolutely fantastic rib tour on the Fjord that was definitely a highlight of the holiday. We tried to book months in advance but everything was full both through our cruise company and direct. Then the night before, our ship came close enough to land for my internet to work and I discovered a load of spaces had come available. I snapped up 2 slots and was so pleased I'd checked. Our driver/guide was brilliant and we loved everything about the experience.

We rented bikes here early in the season. Karlis had our bikes ready and opened up the shop just for us. We had an incredible ride along the romantic road and up through the valley. We got an e-bike and two regular bikes so everyone was able to bike together. Bikes also came with good lights for the tunnels. Karlis was very accommodating and gave us good directions for where to go, would highly recommend.

What a great trip, the guys that run this were amazing, very professional and also made you feel relaxed, all the gear is provided to keep you warm and safe. Can't tell you it's a must to book this trip, we had an amazing time. Book directly with them or walk up like we did and book, we waited 20 mins. Save alot of money doing it directly than going through the cruise liner.

We rented bikes for a reasonable price (400 nok for a whole day). A short trip tot Drivandefossen (8km one way), afterwards a sportive ride to Urnes (29km one way) for the Urnes Stankyrkja. You pass through serveral unlit tunnels. The locals consider this the "romantic route". Truely beautiful! Other options such as fishing or a boat trip on the fjord are also recommended!

Sognefjellsvegen - The National Tourist Route

Hiking Trails
Sognefjellsvegen, also known as Sognefjellet mountain pass, is a stunning scenic route in Norway. This road takes you from Luster to Lom, offering breathtaking views of fjords, small towns, mountain passes, glaciers, and waterfalls. The highest mountain pass in Norway runs through Jotunheimen with vistas of summits and glaciers. The road is closed in winter but opens around May for summer travel.
Stunning road. Drove it and then the next day cycled it on my road bike. Smooth tarmac, quiet traffic and incredible views. Perfect cycling and driving pass that’s up there with the best.
Chris F — Google review
06.2024/ It was such a beautiful car ride through spectacular and wild landscapes on the roof of Norway. One of the most memorable norwegian scenic routes! The road crosses in Jotunheimen National Park. You have to stop in several scenic view points as you arrive from Lom: Vegaskjelet view point, stop also at Bovertonvatnet lake, after at Nufshaug Scenic ViewPoint and Sognefjellet Viewing Point 1434 m. The last are Nedre Oscarshaug and Fortun Scenic Viewpoint. The road connects Lom and Gaupne and is 108 km in total. It reaches 1434 m altitude and crosses the highest pass in northern Europe. The traffic is not permitted between 8 p.m and 8 a.m. I recommend a sandwich stop at the End of Sognefjorden, at the end of the lake. I wish all of you good weather in order to catch with your eyes the entire beauty of the landscape!

Amazing scenic road!!! Beautiful views of fjords, small towns, mountain passes, glaciers, mountains, waterfalls, rivers and a lot of snow along the way- amazing route!!! A must do place in Norway! You can drive from this route near the town of lom to the highest mountain in Norway, the road to the top is amazing, there is an ice cave in the top, beautiful trails, summer ski, viewpoints and restaurant- recommended!!!

Be very careful here -- this highway closes every night and they have gates on either side that lock you in between 8pm and 8am. Unfortunately they do not have any signs in English that warn people of this closure, so I'm guessing lots of non Norwegian tourists end up sleeping in their car up on the high mountain pass.

To Pat M..Road only close during wintertime.Beautiful road to drive and scenery is stunning.Road 55 itself gets 9 stars. The one star is for google maps only because they dont allow you to set the route over sognefjell.Thats really bad.Same if you set the route for road 63 from Sogge bridge over trollstigen-Geiranger over to rv 15. Google maps need to fix this and put out the closing time of many Norwegian roads.

Mountains
Galdhøpiggen, standing at 2469 meters above sea level, is Norway's highest mountain and one of the most popular hikes in the country. The challenging ascent is rewarded with breathtaking views, but it's advised not to hike alone due to the unpredictable mountain weather. Visitors can enjoy refreshments at a coffee place on the summit. Many hikers describe their experiences of reaching the top as awe-inspiring, with perfect weather conditions and stunning visibility.
Excellent hike to highest Norwegian and Scandinavia peak. It is demanding hike up but so worth it. As with all mountain not recommended to go alone. When I reached top did not see much as there was huge fog even though when stared was nice and sunny but weather changed were fast. Will need to return some day for the view. On top of mountain there is coffee place where you can get some refreshments food and drinks.

Easy walk up here from Juvasshytta. Harder and longer from Spiterstulen, about 8 hours round trip. Bring something to slide on the snow on back down. Makes the trip so much more enjoyable. I brought plastic rompeakebrett. Plastic bags will also work.
Håvard ( — Google review
TLDR; My review applies to the trek from Spiterstulen to the summit. The distance from Spiterstulen parking to the summit is a little more than 6 km. There are three summits on the route from Spiterstulen: Svellnos(you can bypass some gradients here but still have to climb 90%) , Keilhaus, and the summit itself. I laboured my way up till Keilhaus, and still the summit was looking far away. I had almost decided to turn back but it was a now-or-never situation. The view from the summit is mesmerizing. I reached there pretty late due to my struggles, hence, couldn't invest much time but I recommend to be there for at least 45 minutes to soak in the experience. I don't prefer to do snow gliding but my knees and legs had given up while descending. I glided through each and every snow patch. My pants and inners got drenched but it was fun !!! I have deducted one star solely due to absence of any wind shelters or huts during the entire trek. Strong winds and rain hit when I descended the last plateau but it was still challenging. A family with 2 kids panicked and were about to call for emergency help. Overall, this was the hardest trek for me till date, but a memorable one. Tips: - Do not attempt unless you are physically fit, and have a good stamina for gradients and slopes. - The trek is an ankle and knee wrecker. Shoes with ankle support, and knee caps recommend. - Start as early as possible, especially if you are unsure about your physical capacity. - Weather can change at a snap - it was sunny most of the day, winds got stronger in the afternoon, and I got battered by rain and winds during the last hour of the descent. Ensure you have clothes that can handle these changes. - Check the information board located at the beginning of the trail. It marks the last point where the drinking water is available. Beyond it, till one reaches the summit, there are no streams(well, one can hear those but cannot use them). - Carry a snow slider that one can place under the bum. It would not only save a lot of time and energy while descending but would also be a fun experience. - Carry snow gloves for a safer snow gliding.
Omkar J — Google review
Galdhøpiggen has incredible views and the hike itself is such an adventure. We didn’t make it all the way up because it started snowing too much, but it was still totally worth it. Just make sure to bring warm clothes — the weather can change fast!
Casper N — Google review
It was my first mountain and reached 945m. It took time because it was really rocky and didnt know how to climb and half time was looking where is trail. Also its really demanding. If you dont see T then take few steps and then you see. Didnt get higher because went late to climb and weather stoped. The most fun part is to go down on snow :).

Nestled in the charming village of Lom, the Lom Stave Church is a stunning example of medieval architecture that transports you back in time. This wooden marvel features steep roofs and an intricately carved interior dating back to the 18th century, showcasing the unique timber framing techniques characteristic of stave churches.
Nothing better than getting to see this truly beautiful Stave church without people! End of August, late afternoon, no one around. This church is absolutely stunning! Cannot say enough about it. With only 28 Staves left, it’s very special. I think we saw a total of 5 on our trip.

Lom is a verry nice place to stay. It is an old Norwegian town, that has a lot of history. The Church is a verry nice building and worth a visit. Ok to walk around the church, but you have to pay in order to go inside.
Arnstein E — Google review
If you want to visit the church from inside, check the opening hours in advance. There are also some messes happening in the church, if you are interested in those. From the outside, the church is nice, but I still liked the old tombstones the most. You can walk around them as in a park, still enjoying something that's old and has a great historical value.
Jana K — Google review
A truly special place. The staff at the entrance were very kind and welcoming. The church is in excellent condition, and being inside felt deeply spiritual — unlike anything I’m used to from stone cathedrals back home. The wooden construction, the scent of old timber, the slightly faded paint, the chandelier with its own story — it all creates a powerful, hard-to-explain atmosphere. A moving and unique experience, both culturally and emotionally.
Tigran M — Google review
Wonderful stave church! While the entrance fee might be a bit hefty it provides you with the possibility of visiting the church from the inside - which I’d highly recommend. If you’re lucky you also get to join a nice, short guided tour through the building by a very knowledgeable guide. If you were to visit a stave church while in Norway this would be a very good pick.

What an amazing experience! The path to reach the glacier is around 800m and very easy since you walk on a platform. Our guide from Klima park explained lots about the climate, the animals and the surrounding. When we reach the glacier we entered in a cave of 6000years of ice. Recommended for sure!

I spent few hours at this national park on the hike to Vettisfossen, the tallest waterfall in Norway. This was one of the highlights on my vacation in the country. I recommend to try the same, if you are not into super challenging hikes, or something else in the area.

An absolutely beautiful national park which is great, although sometimes challenging, for hiking and camping. The hours shown on maps are for lighter backpacks so plan for longer hikes with heavier pack. Requires some fitness and experience I'd say. Favorite parts of our 7 1/2-day hike was Gjendebu to Memurubu (even though "Bukkelægret" was a challenge) and of course Besseggen.

Besseggen, located in the heart of Jotunheimen National Park, is one of Norway's most renowned hiking destinations. The main highlight is the breathtaking view of Bessvatn lake on one side and Gjende lake on the other. During summer, a boat regularly crosses Lake Gjende to reach the trailhead in Memurubu. This area also boasts Norway's two highest mountains, Galdhopiggen and Glittertind.
Fantastic place to hike ! A great hiking of around 14 km with altitude going up to 1400+ mts above sea level. Also the trails are well marked with directions and wherever needed chain support on rocks are provided. Recommended in the month of August or late July. There is a nice cafe at the ferry boarding place. Nice place to catch some pictures and get insta ready. Because once the hike will start you will forget about pictures and focus on natural beauty instead.
Ishan P — Google review
We climbed the magnificent Bessegen Ridge starting from Gjendesheim and completing a route which led us up and along the ridge, then around the Bessvatnet lake and back to Gjendesheim car park. We completed the route during the last week of May 2025, with at least 3/4 of the route fairly heavily covered in snow. Warm clothes and walking boots were required, as there are many sections that require scrambling and pulling yourself over rocks. Due to the presence of snow and ice still on the ridge, it took almost 10 hours to summit and return, but it was worth it to see such a magnificent view from the top and the completely frozen Bessvatnet lake. Much of the route around the lake was snow covered, so we had to forge our own route which significantly slowed progress. Well worth it if you have a reasonable level of fitness and determination.
Pat H — Google review
Took the popular path Memurubu to Gjende hike. Difficult hike but breathtaking experience! Avoid if you have height problems—you literally have to climb on knife’s edge! Camping on the way would be more relaxing. Take plenty of water or fill up on your way from the stream (That’s what I did and still alive, some locals said I shouldn’t as there can be bacterias). Lastly bring your best protein bars and food. Highly recommended! Pro tip: if you miss the last bus to the parking lot ask someone in the shop to drop you off and show your ticket. you might be lucky. Including swimming, breaks, food and sightseeing it took 11 hours for me. So start early and enjoy!
Mehedi H — Google review
Undoubtedly one of the true highlights of our trip to Norway. While we were worried at first reading some of the reviews here, we can safely say that with moderate fitness and adequate preparation you should be able to undertake - and enjoy ! - this unique hike. It took us about 6,5 hours, including stops - taking the early ferry at 8am, meaning we were back in time for the first bus back at 15pm. The first section of the hike was the most challenging for us as it’s constantly uphill for about 1.5 - 2 hours. The actual ridge climb proved to be less straining and scary than initially anticipated. Do make sure you stay focused towards the end of the hike when fatigue might set it: you will face a steep descend back to the ferry terminal where it can get very slippery in case of rainy weather…
Casper B — Google review
One of the most amazing hikes I have ever done. We decided to start the trail in Memuburu, we booked our spots for the ferry and the parking lot/shuffle bus for the earliest morning ferry, I recommend to take this route as it is so much nicer to not worry about getting to the ferry on the way back from the hike. I’m not an experienced hiker, however, I do training (gym mostly) and this was my longest and most technical hike so far, I have to say in terms of views, it exceed my expectations, it was completely wonderful and memorable, we were so lucky with the weather. The hike itself, it is quite technical, very rocky and the way up can be quite tiring. The most challenging parts for me were, the climbing part in order to reach the top, I got quite scared as it is definitely more dramatic than it looked in the pictures/videos specially, for people with fear of heights and also quite long hahah. After the climbing part, it gets a bit better until it get worse, when you’re starting to go downhill, it’s hell hahah, I have bad knees, and I have train and prepare myself for this moment, brought all the gear (hiking poles, knee sleeves, etc ) and that’s usually good enough, but god, it was so long, technical and so much impact on my knees that I almost gave up hahaha. If you have bad knees like me, be aware of this and take your considerations, the way down isn’t tiring itself but it is very hard on your knees. The most memorable views are honestly in the first half of the trip if you start from Memuburu, so take this in consideration for pictures/videos, because when you reach the top after the climbing part you might think the view is even better there but is not hhahah, so, if you don’t want to go the climbing part, you could even just go back after reaching the half and you have seen all the pretty tbh. I would recommend to take this route instead, because the climbing part going downhill would look even scarier 😆 Overall, great experience! Even with super bad knees, I made it on time, 7 hours 40 min, and it was totally worth it, loved this experience 🥰
Joselyn R — Google review
The most terrifying but thrilling hike/climb I’ve ever done. What an amazing experience! Would highly recommend. I’m not the best climber but have done my fair share of hikes and this I would rate a 7/10 on difficulty. The views. My goodness, the views were absolutely breathtaking. So worth the climb to see the top and the waters below. Cannot wait to come back!
Yusif A — Google review
Its amazing feeling when you reach the top. The ridge is doable and its something new. Its climbing. Its a bit scary if you look but when you do it, its not so bad. You will get more confident and then suddenly you are at the top. Way down is long but intresting.
Sonyeo M — Google review
Amazing view – highly recommend! If you have a fear of heights, I suggest taking the route from Memurubu to Gjendesheim, which means you’ll be climbing up the ridge. Going in the opposite direction—down the ridge—can feel much scarier. The hike is about 14.5–15.5 kilometers from Memurubu to Gjendesheim.

These people get it right. Slick organisation without a businessy feel: you feel welcomed into an exciting event in a relaxed way. The Family Rafting trip is very well suited for families without any rafting experience. Smaller children at Sjoa’s lower age limit will enjoy this as well as adults. The great place "Must " to visit with families. Kids can come here , the road is not that much difficult, some part walk on the snow, some part walk on a small river. A must visit when in Norway!

It was a pit stop at Rondane. The confluence of at least 3 streams flowing down from the mountains into a free flowing beautiful river, is beautiful. It is a wet land area and rich in biodiversity. The small wooden bridge across the river is lovely. One can take pictures on a giant wooden chair. All in all, a nice place for a brief stop. There is a wonderful viewing spot near by from where one can see lots of mountain peaks.

Magnificent place. It's a tundra. Many beautiful places wort to visit. First park in Norway.

This is a beautiful park. There are a few things you should know though. Most of the walks are big. This is especially so since the trail is rocky, I mean super rocky! Like Sylvester Stalone was your hike! It's also marshy and muddy. An experienced hiker with a 15kg overnight backpack will be lucky to do 3km/hr on average. Furthermore, it's mostly above the treeline, temps drop in the evening and it gets windy if you're camping. Staying in the Hut is about 50 euros per night per person and breakfast is also expensive, so do bear that in mind. However, trails are extensive, well marked and views are stunning!

Beautiful and amazing place. Approximately 5 hours from Oslo. A lot of hiking trails in the mountains. I stayed at Rondvassbu, which was a great and cosy place to stay. Felt like being in a homey cottage. From Stange (which is th3 furthest place you can drive with your car) it is possible to rent a bike and cycle in to Rondvassbu. If I stayed in Rondane for a week I would do day trips and walk from cabin to cabin.

Kvitfjell ski resort

Ski resort

Ski & Snowboard Areas
Alpine ski resort also popular for trail biking & hiking in the summer with restaurants & cabins.
Smaller but lovely Resort with less people, so short waiting times and quick rides back to the top. The slopes have been nicely prepped and always smooth to ride on. Lift staff and ski patrol has been really helpful and nice. Fantastic resort to learn skiing or spend a few days with kids.

Great small ski hill! I’d say that this ski hill is good to visit for the day. Multiple day trips might get boring for some, but for one day has lots of variety. Wouldn’t be a bad hill to be at if you live close by. The Olympic run (1) was a treat and fun to race down. The facilities and hills are well maintained, with lots of ski in ski out houses. I went in the spring, so wasn’t super busy, felt cozy and welcoming!
Cedric T — Google review
Family friendly, huge ski centre. There are hotels nearby that offer ski in, ski out for easier access on the slopes. definitely recommend
Pavel G — Google review
Very beatiful place with good facilities. The skiing is great and you can find routes for all levels. Someone told me that if you are very experienced, maybe the area is a little too small, but I never reached that point.
Sven B — Google review
Good quality slopes, not much people, that is huge advantage, although one day had some snow and in the next morning slopes gone bad very fast, was no pleasure to ski. Lifts are a bit outdated. Last lift is before 16:00, which is very early
Ieva S — Google review
What a great place to ski. Fun runs and great spots for lunch beers. Best of the ski areas I went to throughout Norway 🇳🇴
Blair K — Google review
An overall good ski area. Apart from the goal area of the Olympic, there is two important locations. Mittelstation and Skitorget that both have skishops with rental, cafeteria, ski school etc. The kids area at Mittelstation isn't terribly good and belt was broken when we where there. The one at Skitorget is acceptable and has a both a kids transport belt and drag lift (button). The Olympic downhill track (1a+1b) is definitely an asset to this area. Even though the top part (1a) was closed at our visit, it's rely awesome. Steep and icy - really really fast. When we visited late January 4-5 slopes where closed, which makes the area kind of small. OK for 3 days with the family but not enough for a week. Not even close. Tip: the rental shops at the two locations are the part of the same business and you can return equipment in both regardless of where it was picked up. The cabin we rented had ski in/out but it was poorly marked, and not very smooth. We basically had to.make our own tracks. In classic Norway-style, the cabin are poorly numbered and near impossible to find. It's like they don't want tourists....
Morten T — Google review
Great place. Many different options for all levels. Though be aware that a lot of the red slopes could feel black on some parts. The Olympia slope is a classic but requires a skilled person to take. Can be a bit crowded in weekends, but weekdays the place isn't that populated so the slopes is quite clear.

Super fun and lot to see for childrens. Our child is just above 100cm, but still he could enjoy most of the rides. You can easily spend whole day here. Lots of people so you have to queue some time on some of the rides.

Best park for kids! My datter has been her two time when she was 5 years old and now 7 years olds. There are many rides for kids between 90 - 110 cm with adults. She love car driving and they will get child drivers license. You can bring your own food to grill and pay for the grill kr 25,-. You can also borrow trillevogn for kr 50,-. The parking costs kr 75,- a day.

I would highly recommend this park for a day trip, particularly to families with younger children. Our four-year-old had an absolute blast. You should also put Reodor Helgen’s hyperaccelerator on your to-do list of rides – it’s worth waiting in line for! 😀

Had a wonderful visit for my son’s 8th birthday. It’s a bit of a faff via public transport (the route over the dam for the 142 bus is closed) but well worth the trip. Everything was in really good condition and thoughtfully organised. We were there on a quiet day and some of the rides had no queues - the staff very kindly let us stay on for a second time around. We brought our own lunches but grills and cafes seemed nice. The Energy Centre was particularly good.

Nice to experience, a good variety of activities for kids. Updated 12/07/22 The experience was almost OK. There was a mishap and i expected it to be handled way better for a Park that charges over 50dollars per person for entry. Expensive, period! There are actually not that many rides in this park for people over 140. Don't bring bigger kids here expecting them to be able to have the best of rides available. For some rides you cannot go on with sandals...Wear sneakers, too much to ask really, especially in the summer tbh Funny thing is, we did go on them (unknowingly) but no one said anything. You also have to pay extra to go climbing. Best to go to Tusenfryd or Liseberg in Gøteborg to be honest!

Open air museum
Sights & Landmarks
Maihaugen is a renowned open-air museum in Lillehammer, Norway, showcasing traditional Norwegian buildings that depict rural, urban, and home life from the 1400s to the present day. With over 200 buildings divided into the Rural Section, Historic Town, and Residential Area, visitors can immerse themselves in Norway's cultural heritage. Families with children will find it especially enjoyable. The museum offers a captivating journey through time and provides insight into Norwegian history and architecture.
I had a great time visiting Maihaugen—it's a fantastic place to spend quality time with family. This was my second visit in three years. The museum takes you on a journey through Norway’s cultural and architectural history, from old villages to modern towns. The actors at various locations were friendly and informative—we had a fun time chatting with them. Kids will enjoy the pools, ducks, and other animals around the area. It's a good idea to bring some snacks so you can sit and relax in one of the many scenic spots. They do have a cafeteria in there as well. The Olympic Museum and Postal Museum are also located within the same enclosure and are definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic afternoon of walking and discovering the area! You could spend hours here, so wear walking shoes! Even have a picnic or grab a meal in the cafe. The indoor exhibitions are just as great as the outside exhibitions. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Heather B — Google review
Beautiful village but also a bunch of other random indoor museums inside. Its not as interactive as it could be, but still great to see. I didn't have kids with me but there seemed to be a few indoor play areas with toys and outdoor. Uneven walking around the edges on paths but big wide paths as well!
Laura M — Google review
Possibly one of the best Museums I've ever been to. It's a large complex of multiple museums and open air exhibits spread over a vast area. It took me 5 hours just to rush through most of the stuff while skipping much.
Roy F — Google review
Sprawling museum with a variety of exhibits, both indoor and outdoor. Reasonable admission price based on how much there is to see. Well maintained facility and grounds, helpful map provided on how to navigate.
Sarah H — Google review
Here’s the translation: ⸻ The museum itself is great! Interesting outdoor exhibits, but the opening hours policy is poor – from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We didn’t manage to thoroughly see all three museums. In the end, we rushed through the Olympic one and didn’t have time to calmly buy souvenirs. Also, many outdoor objects were closed. All in all, good, but it could have been better. It gets crowded from 11 onwards because organized groups arrive as well.
Mihaela M — Google review
Our group of 9 attended a wonderful guided tour of a historial Norwegian farm, which is smaller than a town but larger than a one family living area. The typical home includes a centrla fire area in a wooden structure. The schoolhousr is several school benches with long writing desks for students of all ages where they learned religion and reading. The central church is closed today. The excellent guide even gave us a school lesson on the small blackboards. As we headed to the interior museum, we passed by a gift shop with scarves, Norway souvenirs, journals with Norway decor, and of course, Trolls, trolls, and more Trolls. JaBaDaBaDo toys are 5% off. The inside museum shows the history of the resilent Norwegian throughout history. A special exhibit open until November highlights dance in Norway, including folk dances, swing dance, ballroom, tango, rap, hip hop with a don’t-be-shy interactive opportunity. The attention to historic events and their role in Norway’s path to a stronger nation. The years of German occupation, changing relations with other Scandinavian nations, and immirgation are summed up in displays and videos. All videos and signs are in Norwegian and many in English. Signs are legible and readble. The section that pays tribute to UNESCO sites is impressive with intention to preserve the world’s environment. Excellent museum that gives a memorable summary of Norway and Norwegians.

This is an amazing museum with well preserved buildings sharing the history of life in Norway. We only had time for The Rural Area and wished we were able to see the Town and Residential areas as well. But, it was incredible and beautiful. We even got to see inside the old buildings and how they were furnished. The grounds are beautiful. We learned how the museum was thought of and built as well as how people lived a very long time ago! The museum is over 100 years old!! This is a must-see while in Lillehammer and make sure you allow plenty of time to see the whole thing, including the Olympic Museum (included in your admission).

Ski jumping hill
Sights & Landmarks
Lysgårdsbakkene Hoppanlegg is a ski jumping center in Lillehammer, known for hosting top-tier athletic events throughout the year. Situated around 1.5km at the top of Lilyhammer, it offers a magnificent view of the lake below and holds historical significance as the site where the flame burned bright during the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Great little historical side stop on the way to wherever you are headed! We walked the 800+ steps to the top. The view was phenomenal! It was our first time seeing a ski jump in person so it was really interesting.
Jarrod S — Google review
There are two ski jumping slopes. They were used in the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. Now they are in regular use, mostly in winter competitions and practice. In summer they have ski lifts that take you up for the views, and the views from the top are amazing. There's a small shop which has gifts and snacks. It's very close to the town of Lillehammer.
Dipak O — Google review
🥇 Lillehammer hosted the first “eco-friendly” Olympic Games in history During the 1994 Winter Olympics, Lillehammer became the first host city to focus heavily on environmental protection: • all venues were built to minimize damage to nature; • the Olympic Village used eco-friendly materials; • the city planted tens of thousands of trees to compensate for its environmental impact. That’s why the 1994 Games are often called “the most environmentally friendly Olympics ever.” 🌲🏔️
Marianna R — Google review
30 minutes on foot from the city center. Two ski jumps with 936 steps leading to the top. It’s worth going because the view of the Lillehammer area is stunning.
Mihaela M — Google review
Definitely a place worth visiting in Lillehammer. Full of sports nostalgia and stunning views. From the town center there’s a long uphill walk to the spectator area, and from there about 900 steps to the top of the ski jump. In August 2025 the chairlifts were not operating. Descending the stairs is not recommended if you’re afraid of heights.
Taneli D — Google review
We didn’t know what to expect from visiting this site & was even going to skip it. Glad we didn’t, it was fascinating to see how steep & far the jumps went & it’s one hell of a climb to the top, but the views are worth it.

This is the Ski Jumping Arena of the 1994 Winter Olympics. We stopped here for a quick visit and enjoyed the view even without climbing to the top of the run. The lifts weren’t operating and we didn’t have enough time to climb up to the top of the run.

Museums
Domkirkeodden is a captivating destination that beautifully intertwines medieval history with modern experiences. This outdoor museum showcases an impressive collection of historical buildings from Hedmark villages, alongside the stunning ruins of an ancient cathedral and bishop's castle, all sheltered under a striking glass structure. The atmosphere here is truly enchanting; I had the pleasure of attending a midnight concert that felt almost magical amidst the historic backdrop. Visitors can explore these remarkable ruins while enjoying various family-friendly activities in the surrounding park-like setting.
Today my father and I visited the Domkirkeodden. What a sight to see! To enter you have to buy a ticket for about 140 NOK. (€11,70) They have a great staff and you can see some of them walking in historical clothing which gives a nice touch in my opinion! Everything is behind glass for better preservation. Some items are even monitored with temperature and humidity meters. Also, they have information flyers in multiple languages. They have Norwegian, English, German and even Dutch which was perfect for my father. (We are from the Netherlands) I feel honored to have walked through the ruins of what was once a beautiful church! Thank you, people and staff for preserving and showing this amazing piece of history!
Michel T — Google review
Although Domkirkeodden was closed for renovation during my visit, I still enjoyed experiencing it from the outside. The ruins, set against the serene landscape, carry a deep historical weight. I was particularly moved by their connection to the Reformation—this place serves as a powerful reminder of the cost of change and the sacrifices made for the values we cherish today. The way the ruins are protected with structured glass is especially symbolic—it shows a commitment to preserving history, ensuring that we do not forget the past. A meaningful site that invites reflection. Hope to visit again when it reopens!
Jeffrey S — Google review
It was an interesting place and our guide did an excellent job explaining the history on the site to us. The glass enclosure was a very resourceful idea and the acoustics inside were perfect.
Quercus R — Google review
Was nice, we could see the historic walls of the fort. Previously you were supposed to be able to go in the protective enclosure of the cathedral but birds broke the glass so we couldn't. You could still view it from the outside. There also is a small historic artifact museum in the museum. The area is a medieval fort and market that was blown up by the Swedes. (Darn YOU SWEDEN!) Definitely worth seeing and I hope they continue to improve the site as part of it is currently under construction. This was my 10 year old son's favorite site in Norway.
W H — Google review
Its all very interesting but i dont like that you have to pay to get inside to see it (so we didn't). But it also looks quite cool from the outside. Theres also alot of field, old houses and a mini 'beach' around it. Lovely views. Theres parking outside where you normally have to pay but it wasnt working when we went. There was also a mini truck with ice cream and waffles. I didnt see any toilets.
Kristy F — Google review
Beautifully preserved remains of the church. Great acoustics
Inga M — Google review
Really cool and interesting place! Seeing the old ruins and connecting the history of the place is fascinating. The modern additions to the building bridge the modern with the ancient in a way that even though you know it's modern it doesn't detract from the history. My family very much enjoyed our visit here, and the walk to the railroad museum.

I experienced a rebirth there, felt after going out that the world was most certainly less miserable. My body has never been treated this good while I was treated so nicely by the waiter. For around 25€, you have access to the spa, sauna hammam, hot seats, cold/hot rain showers, relaxation waterfall room, massaging bath, outside bubble bath, 7° cold bath, free coffee and tea, smiling and lovely crew... Don't be afraid by the first corridor to get to the changing rooms, it's just the purgatory before heaven! Bring your swimsuit and your towel and you're good to live a really nice moment!

Hello. Please introduce a rule for pool visitors to wear swimming caps! It's very disgusting when women's hair floats in the pool! This same hair then clogs the filter in the pool, keep this in mind! And please heat the water in the large pool, such cold water makes it unbearable to swim!!! In a small pool the water is warm, but a huge number of people and children gather in a small pool because of this it becomes very crowded and the water quickly becomes dirty and cloudy! Please fix all this so that me and my family can feel comfortable and pleasant coming and relaxing in this place! We pay money and not small sums for entry, so we want comfort and clean, warm water in a large pool, and without women’s hair.

We have been on a two week football tour around Norway with 17 young lads. Everywhere we have been everyone has been so accommodating except this Ankerskogen. They refused to let us in despite prior agreement for our contact to pay. We even offered to pay over the phone but the girl working there was having none of it. We intended to purchase treatments and lunch there - they have lost out on business. Sort out your customer service e

It‘s a nice Zoo especially for those with small children. You can access everything very easy with a stroller. The animals are very friendly and are well taken care of, you can pet and feed them. The Zoo is in a forest, it has a big resting place, were you can have a picnic, buy waffles, ice cream, coffee or eat your own food. It has a big playground for children. Everything is kept natural and not commercial, wich leaves a good impression.I recommend this Zoo!

In may we have been surprised with partially closed setup (no monkeys, surikatas, closed road to other animals, etc.), no feeding and no contact with any animals. The same entrance price... It would be nice to know that ahead as otherwise it's a nice little zoo 🙂

Very nice zoo, located in a forest with a farm aesthetic. Makes it feel a bit less like you're at a animal prison. The zoo ends with a large playground and a BBQ area with a kiosk. Would recommend to bring some antibacterial wipes if you plan to eat there as the aren't many options to clean yourself after interacting with animals. Bring the kids.

I thought Flytoget was the perfect way to travel from Olso Airport and in to the centre. Simple, quick and into Oslo central in under 20 minutes. Hassle free travel every 10 minutes. Clean carriages and plenty of seats. Booked online, it was so easy. I paid 960NOK at the time of my booking (2no Adults return = 70GBP). Just checked its now 1008NOK (just a slight increase). It's well worth a look if you don't want to drive / UBER etc. I'll travel this way again if I return, no brainer. PCB 👌🏻

I was issued a fine of 1200 NOK even though I did everything according to their instructions, but their system was lagging to charge my card. Scanned my card at the entry, tried to scan it at the exit, didn't work, got issued a fine for supposedly not having a ticket, the inspector didn't want to look or listen that my card was reserved but not charged yet, even when there were witnesses that confirmed everything, he just issued a fine. Very pleasant experience.

This was amazing travel from Oslo Airport to Oslo Central Station - I am railway enthusiast from Poland and found this travel emotional and extremely interesting, especially because of high speed - 210 km per hour. Journey to Oslo Central Station lasts exactly 22 minutes! I am also very grateful for the highest quality of services of train crew, so as supporting staff of Flytoget at both stations. They are ready to answer all questions, also from railway enthusiasts:), like me. Flytoget high speed trains go every 10 minutes, and it makes this way of travelling not only the most time-saving, but extremely interesting. I am very sensitive on safety procedures, and I found these applied at Flytojet as the most restrictive, which makes passengers' journey safe, quiet and comfortable. At each pair of seats in the train everybody could read safety instructions, written both in Norwegian and English, in very simple way (with drawing of train scheme). It is only one sheet of thick paper, but information are written on both pages, in very quick way. Electric sockets are double in every two seats, so there is no issue to use it for our electrical appliances. It was great pleasure to use Flytoget high speed trains during my visit to Oslo. I recommend this highest quality services not only to travel enthusiasts, but all passengers who are interested in the best and time-saving way of travelling. Thank you Flytoget team for your excellent job! See you next time!

There was no warning at the kiosk when I bought my TRAIN ticket that the trains weren't running. Instead, they shuffled us into an overcrowded bus that took forever to load and slowly made its way downtown. For this clearly substandard service they reduced the price by nothing. Next time, I'll find a better way to town. This was pathetic.

Very comfortable, and very easy access to make your way from Oslo's international airport to Oslo's center. Ticket's cost around 240 NOK
Paris T — Google review
HORRIBLE!!! I bought the tickets to go and come. On my way back, they simply canceled the trains, there was nothing written in the station. I had to get a cab otherwise I would miss my flight. Now they blame me because there was a buss going from another station (not the one I was departing from and had the tickets already), and I did not get it! Avoid it if you can! :(
Ellen K — Google review
As others reported, it happened to me that the trip that was supposed to be made by train was performed by bus, considerable slower and less comfortable. Although the bus was nice and perfectly suitable, there was no previous warning or discount. Other bus services offer the same for smaller price. I was going to rate Flytoget as a 3 stars but after reading that what happened to me it's common, I can only rate it as a 2 stars.

Thank you once again for this wonderful experience. We highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in history, and we wish the museum continued success in sharing Norway's heritages.

Eidsvoll Manor, located at 30 minutes by car from Oslo, is the place where the Constitution of Norway was signed in 1814. The building was first constructed ca. 1770. As it stands today, the manor is the result of an extensive renovation and modernization in the years around 1800 by Carsten Anker. In 1814, the Constitution of Norway was signed at Eidsvoll on May 17. The Manor can be visited nowadays and within the location you can serve a frugal lunch consisting of sandwiches, muffins and waffles. Also, there is a souvenir shop in the cafeteria where you can buy various objects from umbrellas to quill pen, similar with the one that the Constitution was signed.

The monumental place for modern day Norway. Buildings and surrounding are very well preserved. Quiet place with a small park to walk and relax, which is kinda unique in this part of Norway. Shame that Norway is funding schools and other cultural buildings and events around the globe but can't find a way to make fee-free entrance to such a monumental museum in own courtyard.

Eidsvoll 1814 has been on my wishlist of places to go for about four years. That is when I learned that my 3x great grandfather was one of 112 Eidsvollmenn who drafted and signed the Norwegian Constitution. After booking a 12-day tour to "Majestic Norway" a couple months prior, I then arranged for a tour of Eidsvoll 1814 to learn more about my paternal ancestor and the place he traveled to over 200 years earlier to change the course of Norwegian hisory. The very afternoon that I landed and deplaned in Oslo, I boarded a train to Eidsvoll Verk then a public bus to Eidsvoll 1814. When I arrived on the site of the ironworks, tour guide Mikaela was just finishing up with a group so I sat in the contemporary Kafe Standpunkt, which overlooks a waterway, to rest and enjoy a beverage. Upon entering Eidsvoll Manor (built circa 1770), Mikaela and I put booties on over our footwear to protect the floors of the historic building. From there, Mikaela guided me room to room and floor to floor while talking about the history of Eidsvoll and the purpose of each room. She also told me a few stories about my 3x gg who was a farmer and served as sheriff of Valle in Setesdal for 50 years. The furnishings and overall decor in the main part of the house are sumptuous. The servants' quarters are plain but, except for the noise from the old Ironworks, it was a large, comfortable home for those who worked and lived there. Visiting Eidsvoll 1814 was a highlight of my first visit to Norway. Thank you to all the staff who helped make my dream come true.

What a wonderful lake! There is a sandy beach near the main entrance, equipped with a diving board, a rail to help one walk into the water, and even proper bathrooms. There are areas you can BBQ/grill, several benches all around the lake, and well placed waste bins near the entrance. You'll find a beach volleyball court and an outdoor gym near the lower, larger parking lot. There is a ton of space for picnics or sun tanning on the grass around the beach itself. A beautiful main trail goes around the lake, with additional free trails in the forest area. Definitely worth a visit! 😃🐾🌳

Great great lake with a very nice path to go around and enjoy it. The walk takes 30' in moderate pace, there are two beaches, a waffle shop, toilets, benches to sit and enjoy the still waters, kind people walking and enough parking, although, JUST barely as of late, Jessheim is growing. A great lake for our small city 😍

A nice place to go for a tour, it will take you approximately 30 minutes for 1 round. I always walk here and I bike sometimes. Tried visiting here on all seasons and it’s still beautiful no matter what. They even have workout equipments near the parking area that’s accessible for everyone. Love this place!

If u live Jessheim that’s where u go all summer after work + weekends. 😉😉 and if u don’t live Jessheim I would suggest someplace else as it could be VERY VERY crowdy especially during weekends (unless u like it like that then it’s all yours ).

Norwegian Forestry Museum

The museum is one of the best in Norway. The ongoing "Wolf at the door" exhibition is just amazing and a great conservation initiative illustrating how museums are relevant todayin discussing and presenting difficult yet crucial conversations. The curators are amazing and willing to interact. I interacted with Elizabet and Elisa (?) - incredible professionals.

Very informative and educating. The museum's exhibition design is very well done. I was impressed how much information was conveyed in a great variety.

A very nice museum covering the different aspects of forestry including hunting, fishing, etc. and the development / evolution in this sector over the years. The museum is ideally located next the river Glomma and beautiful surrounding. Week kept museum with very interesting indoor and outdoor exhibitions A fun and informative place about nature and culture for kids and adults. A very good restaurant on the premises. Worth the visit if you are around.

The collection of stuffed animals is impressive. The museum gives a huge amount of knowledge about everything that connects to forest: from nature to culture. Definitely a must see when you are around. I'd say 3 hours sightseeing should be enough. If there only were some nice souvenirs in the museum shop: I couldnt find anything special for gifts :/

It was really nice visiting here. We got lucky with the weather. Had a lovely walk along the planks that lay tied on top of the water, that took us into that nature trail, checking out the log driving museum cabins on the way. Also checked out the old milling workshops on the land before wandering down to the café for a nice coffee.

Lovely museum, the booms are easily accessible and gives an unique view of Glomma and it's surrounding. The nearby nature visitation center was wonderful and we'll worth a visit.

Very clean public fitness center which has indoor swimming pools with water slides, steaming room, sauna, café, gym, eating area serving pizza, burger, fries, drinks, ice cream etc. Very friendly and help staff. All areas are very clean and tidy. No bad scent and well kept place and good place for family and friends friend weekend visit. There are also available 3 hours and 1 day free parking places with permit card right around the place.

The slides and pools were great and fun for kids, but we felt the spa options were quite limited—especially for toddlers. Hairdryers were weak, so it's a good idea to bring your own. Sauna choices were fewer than expected, and the showers felt a bit awkward. Since we visited during the holidays, it was very crowded, and the changing rooms were often messy—understandably, as not everyone cleaned up after themselves.
Kristina P — Google review
Always nice place for a bath. The options in pools is great and should have something for everyone :) Food is also good.

Great place to spend time with family and friends. Clean water, tidy place and neat everywhere. More than 5 separate pools for different ages and activities. Jacuzzi and sauna also present. With Bigger slides for adults and smaller slides for kids. Parking, Cafeteria, advanced locker and shower area, they do sell swim suit, cap, Goggles and flipflops. But less staffs and unable to contact them at ease. Overall excellent place.

Great place to visit with families, swing, eat, relax, spa. Much fun for the kids. Nice service. Like the new lock system. No need to bring own lock. You might have problems if you forgot something and need to exit building due to the new lock. But not a problem. The price is a bit high for a family to visit, unfortunately. Go a bit later to avoid crowded guests. Will be back☺ hope they will set the price lower for families.

I was disappointed to visit this swimming pool. The whole complex looks rather old, not modern at all, starting with lockers and showers, to the three tube-slides and the pool itself, with not very clean and clear water, no tiles on the walls or bottom of the pool. Lots of children visiting the pool (main one, unfortunately) and jumping into it from the springboards and the diving tower, making a lot of noise and blocking all lanes but ONE for those who want to swim. After kids are gone, still only two lanes are available for swimming. The two saunas (one dry and one damp) do work, but again, are old-fashioned and not really pleasant to visit. There is a nice warm-water small pool and a Jacuzzi outdoors, worth recommending, though.

Honestly best pool for kids and grow ups, i haven't found such fun pools in Oslo area, everything you need they have, highly recommend to try at least once with family.

A very, very bad, disgusting, terrible service. The entire area is run-down and neglected. They charge a lot of money. Half of the equipment doesn't work. The foot baths often don't work. There are often technical issues. Things are often closed. I do not recommend it. Very bad service.
