Penang Hill, locally known as Bukit Bendera, is a refreshing escape from the heat and hustle of George Town. While lines for the train can be lengthy during peak hours—a quick tip: consider the fast-lane ticket to save time—the view from the top makes the journey worthwhile. The peak offers spectacular, panoramic vistas of the island, George Town’s skyline, and the mainland. It's especially magical during sunset or when the city lights twinkle at night. The air is noticeably cooler, often dropping several degrees, providing genuine respite. Beyond the viewing decks, the hill is steeped in history, featuring colonial-era bungalows and diverse religious sites, including a mosque and a Hindu temple. The prime attraction, however, is The Habitat. This world-class rainforest discovery center features the Curtis Crest Tree Top Walk and the Langur Way Canopy Walk, allowing visitors to walk high above the 130-million-year-old rainforest. It's an immersive experience for nature lovers, rich in flora and fauna. Penang Hill is a charming blend of natural beauty, colonial heritage, and modern eco-tourism, offering something for every visitor seeking cooler climes and breathtaking sights.

So much of new development since I last came in August 2025. Tram service is good, organised, and efficient. Didn't have to wait for too long. The experience of going uphill and downhill in the tram is interesting. Once up there, you will be greeted with gentle and chill breeze, it's so refreshing. There are a few platforms for photo shooting and enjoying the view of penang island. A lot of souvenir stalls and there's a food courts where you can enjoy local delicacies. So many kid-friendly activities here. For this trip, I visited the Habitat, a reserve forest where u can take tour guide to bring you through the forest on the canopy bridge, it is well maintained and the scenery is just spectacular. We stayed here till sunset. What a perfect experience to enjoy the beauty of Penang.

Penang hill was literally the highlight of our visit to Penang island. The cable car ride and the view from the top are none to second. We were unfortunately late so we didn’t manage to visit the habitat which was a pity but maybe a good reason to come back.

Penang Hill is definitely one of the must-visit UNESCO sites in Penang! 🌿 The view from the top is absolutely stunning and the weather is super cool and nice escape from the city heat. Loved the tram ride up, smooth and scenic! 🚞 Great place to explore and spend quality time with family. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Penang!

Best place to overlook the whole Penang Island. We are lucky as it is low season in Nov and weekday, don’t need to wait too long for the cable car to go up. A refresh walk after raining too. 😌

Went up by train. Cool and breezy evening. Penang Hill offers a contrast to the warm and humid island. Great view of Penang city at night.

This hill is a beautiful place combination of beauty, heritage, modern eco tourism , breathtaking and many more. This is at the 800 meters above the sea level and it is away from the town. Very clean place.The hill is very steeped,one ca experience various flora and fauna,130 million years old rainforest etc. Lastly, reaching the peak itself is an adventure in itself. Thanks to the iconic steep railway service.

Recommended but with some negatives. Pros: still plenty of beauty in the buildings and grounds. Nice viewpoints. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cons: It's chaotic. The lower tram isn't working so they put you in a mini van to get to the next level up, then a golf cart to the upper tram. There's no map or guide to help you, and signage is confusing. There's a walk up and through gardens that would have been better than the golf cart. There's no way for first time visitors to understand the layout. They want you to go through the stores and you'll miss the best parts on the middle levels if you aren't careful. Take your time to explore all the directions. It's quite commercialized. Selling stuff I the Temples seems a little weird.

Kek Lok Si Temple is a beautiful and iconic place to visit in Penang. The architecture, statues, and view from the top are absolutely worth the trip! If you’re able to walk up the temple, I’d highly recommend doing so — it’s a nice experience and you’ll get to explore the surroundings at your own pace. Be aware there are quite a few drivers touting their service (around RM33) to bring visitors up to the Guan Yin temple level. Personally, I find it not necessary unless you have mobility issues. The tram service stop also isn’t really worth it. Walking up is definitely the better way to enjoy the place!

Amazing vast site on many levels, sometimes a bit difficult to work out which way to go but there are always kind people there to ask and they are very willing to help. So much to see and take pictures of I’d advise 3-4 hours if you take lots of beautiful pictures. 2-3 hours if you don’t. I took a taxi there but found via google the local bus 204 took me to 200 yds of my hotel and cost just 2 R, didn’t take much longer than a taxi and was A/C ….LOVE A BARGAIN

Well... If you really have a time then visit it, otherwise don't fomo. The architecture of buildings are pretty impressive, Big Buddha statue is pretty big, there is a nice city view, but all the buildings are not sacred but... gift shops :( As for the cable car, there is no priority lane for disabled or infants, so you have to wait in the warm gift shop in a close proximity to other people. To be honest, skip the cable car/cab option and take a walk from the parking to the top. It's very easy and short. If you have a baby trolley like me, you can go around the stairs.

Kek Lok Si feels much more like a large religious supermarket than a place of reflection. Everywhere you turn there are Buddhist statues, trinkets, incense, and endless items for sale. To reach the upper levels you need to buy a fairly pricey shuttle ticket. On the first ride a Buddhist monk actually drives, which already sets a confusing tone. Then, to get to the inclined elevator, you walk through a long corridor lined with shelves of Buddha themed merchandise, gadget after gadget. At the top there is yet another shop before you finally reach the terrace and the huge bronze Guan Yin statue. The base of the statue is not open to the public, which adds to the feeling of anticlimax. The garden above is pleasant, with benches, a pond, and a pavilion, and clearly cared for. However, the temple area itself feels strangely hollow. One entire side of the main hall is filled with porcelain vases for sale. Inside, only a few sticks of incense burn. There is no real sense of devotion or spiritual atmosphere. I understand that a complex of this size requires funding, but the commercialisation here feels excessive and overwhelms any sense of sacredness. Overall, Kek Lok Si is visually impressive from a distance, but the experience on site is disappointing.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Blue Mansion, even though it was a short one. We stayed in the beautiful Han Suite (Mandarin), and it was everything we could have asked for — elegant, comfortable, and full of character. Traveling with an infant, we were truly touched by the care and attention the staff showed to ensure we had a seamless experience. Every request was handled with warmth and efficiency. The food was simply delicious — I’d highly recommend dining at their in-house restaurant, which perfectly complements the charm of the property. Every corner of The Blue Mansion is picture-perfect — from the architecture to the courtyards, it’s a photographer’s delight. If you’re visiting Penang, this place is an absolute must-stay for its heritage, hospitality, and heart. 💙

I enjoyed my stay at the blue mansion. This hotel, a designated UNESCO site, is steeped in history and timeless charm. After changing hands in 1989, the new owners carefully restored the once run-down mansion, preserving its original features and character. The rooms are generously sized and rich with a nostalgic, old-world atmosphere. Every ground-floor room opens into a private backyard with a small pond filled with goldfish, leading directly to the pool area. The bar is fantastic, too

If you are still deciding where to stay in Penang, stop and book this place. Ive just checked in and not even checked out yet, but I just feel very connected with this place already. The history, the people, the architecture. Amazing. The guided tours are offered at 11am and 3:30pm. It is a MUST. Gives a good intro to the history of this mansion and the Chinese man that is named "rockerfller of the east". Fascinating and partly what put Penang on the map for so many. The painstaking restoration took place only in the early 90s and took over 6 years. Wow. This is only a 18-room property and from what I gather they tend to sell out a lot. During the day it is accessible to public, but if you are into architecture and history, you could spend hours here. Stop by the bar and get some unique Chinese brandy and wines by the man established the Chinese winery. I've also stayed at the Edison across the street. While it is charming and offers some unique amenities (all day lounge) but this one gets my vote.

Very unique experience, as You feel, that this house is full of history - the walls have seen a lot. I give 4 stars for rooms, as I did not like, that the room did not have windows + 4 stars for Service, as I would ecpect people working in hotel be little bit more nicer + would smile as well and the breakfast could use some upgrade, but in overal - solid OK or 4 from my side. Also there is a nice cafe just around corner, where live musoc performances happen every other day.

The Qing Suites were breathtaking. From the moment you entered, the ambiance was radiant but also calming. The check in process is smooth and efficient. The rooms are modern and very well thought out. Each detail has been thought out carefully. The access to facilities is easy and the dining options are plentiful and convenient. The location is outstanding.

We went to do the audio tour and to have high tea in the courtyard area. This is a wonderful restoration and it has faithfully been restored to near its original grandeur from a nearly crumbling ruin. Hats off to them. The audio tour was interesting although there are not too many rooms to see as the place is now a hotel. It was very touristy with so many people posing for those perfect Instagram pics. Pretty ridiculous. We were so glad we didn't book a stay here. We also forfeited our high tea deposit and left early as it was just a disappointing experience overall.

I came here for the guided tour. Our guide was very great explaining the history on how The Blue Mansion was preserved. The place itself was full of character and is in a very well conditioned. It also appears on the Hollywood film “Crazy Rich Asians” mahjong scene. I recommend everyone to visit whenever you’re in Penang. Me, myself almost book this place as my stay but got better deal on other property instead, next time will definitely stay here..

This is an interesting place to visit whether you're a history buff or not. It allowed me to peek into the lifestyle of the wealthy Nonya family. Looking at the artefacts and portraits was fun enough, but I would have loved it more if detailed descriptions and explanations were given on signs and boards. As it is now, the visitor has to piece everything together without being given a congruent story. Nonetheless, the mansion is beautiful and the musical show is very cute.

RM30 is the entry fee per person. Self-guided tours are available throughout the day. We bought the entry ticket after reaching there. Can spend 2 hours. Beautiful Mansion , 2 levels and multiple rooms to watch and see. Can get crowded and the family prayer room in the back has a disconcerting feeling. Must visit which gives a glimpse into Peranakan life and the grandeur. Thoroughly enjoyed it. And lot of photo spots to get good pictures. Only negative was the airconditioning inside the mansion and it got so stuffy to be inside which ruined the experience. Other than that, definitely recommended if you are in Georgetown.

I have visited many Peranakan museums in Singapore, Malacca and now here in Penang for the first time. One of the best kept Peranakan museum I have seen so far. Well designed mansions including family altar and very huge kitchen space that they turned into restaurant and even theatre. Many exhibits were a time piece of their time, trapped in the space of time so that we can visit and relate. Included art piece, kitchenware, furnitures, and even well taken photographs. Certainly the building made a good spot for photography and can see the many patrons who donned Nonya clothing and employed photographers to take good shot. Love the museum!!

Interesting tour of the mansion, was highly impressed with the English speaking tour guide, he was engaging and knowledgable. You can pay for a tour and spend as much time as you wish after exploring the rooms which is a nice touch. The tour lasts approx. 40-45 minutes. The only reason I didn’t score 5/5 was because the exhibits felt a bit modernised in places and the waiting area was very hectically managed.

An excellent place to understand the early 19th century Chinese peranakan culture, architecture and arfetacts. Open daily from 9am to 5pm. Visitors even can rent the nyonya costume for photos shotting. Impressive with the Jewelry display as well. Don't miss the antique selling hall for souvenir back.

Wonderful treasure trove of Peranakan artifacts. Amazing musuem guides who are passionate about the place. visitors are treated to a 40-minute song-dance-acting skit in the small auditorium, which is highly entertaining & engaging. The musuem shops are also interesting.

We visited this as Blue Mansion had no available spots. And it was beautiful piece of art and history. Highly recommended. There is option to rent traditional clothes for photos

While the primary temples follow Taoist and traditional Chinese folk religion, a prominent, striking structure adjacent to the Chew Jetty is the beautiful Hean Boo Thean Kuan Yin Temple, often referred to as the Floating Temple. While this temple is not physically on Chew Jetty, its stunning location perched right on the water makes it a major highlight when viewing the jetties from the coast or on a boat tour.

It's your average tourist hotspot with loads of souvenir shops along the way. A traditional jetty that's now a popular tourist spot for pictures. If you ask me personally, it's worth a pit stop if you're already in the area - especially if you're exploring Armenian Street and the cafes in its vicinity. However, do keep in mind to be respectful because most of the houses along the jetty are still homes to locals. People actually still live there. So when taking pictures, be respectful! 😬

Chew Jetty may be small, but it's still a nice place to explore. It has a unique charm and local vibe. I enjoyed walking through the wooden walkways and supporting the local shops. The souvenirs here are surprisingly affordable—definitely cheaper than in other touristy areas. Worth a quick visit if you're nearby!

We read the history about the clans and jetties and visited chew jetty. We had an unique experience visiting in the night. Shops were shut and it was peaceful to walk. Fewer people. Very interesting to see the houses built on the water and the way of living was fascinating. We didn't get to visit in the morning time though.

The small village of the wooden stilts house but still a nice option to visit. You can enjoy some spot photo, local souvenirs shop, and the temple. I think it’s better to explore in the evening.

Historic , but very touristy. The temple at the end aldo has some lovely views. Also has 5 temples at the road end including one built under an old tree. Amazing.

Had a great time on the island the guides are very knowledgeable and do a good job of explaining the process of the conservation of the species and what they specifically do to help (breeding work) after that you go on a short walk through a fenced off area. You pass information boards and the apes themselves. They claim the apes have full range of the island but it seems to be sectioned off and the apes separated which was interesting. But overall a cool place and worth visiting if you are in the area. Be warned though you won't be able to get a grab away from the resort area so I recommend pre booking a taxi.

Amazing experience! I’ve never seen an orangutan from such a close distance before. Our guide was knowledgeable and knew the names of all the animals. You can tell the orangutans are well cared for. The sanctuary isn’t very large — you can comfortably see everything in about an hour.

Love this place. Definitely worth going. Things we didn’t know: 1) there are only 5 boats a day at specific times and 2) it is a guided tour that lasts about 30 minutes. Plan accordingly as we didn’t and ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes for the next boat to depart. The orangutans seem well kept.

Visited today (6 Feb) and everything is open. Got the 9.45 ferry across to the island to beat the heat. Lovely crossing. I don’t know if we were lucky but we saw at least 10 Orangutangs, including a family of 4, two companion females and Adam the large male. Great to see them up close, swinging, eating, playing. Full of character and expressions. You can see the wisdom and curiosity and feel the connection to them. They seem well cared for and have good relationships with the rangers. In an ideal world Malaysia would stop cutting down their natural habitat so they are free to roam in the wild, rather than be marooned on an island… it was a great education for our daughter.

Our visit to Orang Utan Island was nothing short of inspiring. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. One standout was a guide who went above and beyond to ensure everyone in our multilingual group could fully engage with the tour. She skillfully tailored the discussion so that each of us—regardless of language—could learn about the foundation’s mission and the incredible work being done. We were deeply impressed by the dedication and passion the team has for protecting and rehabilitating these beautiful orangutans. It's clear that the welfare of the animals is at the heart of everything they do. The experience left us not only informed but also moved by the stories of the orangutans and those who care for them.

We have been here rather spontaneously than planned and were not quite sure what to expect. Well, turns out the Orang Utan Island Foundation is such a great place. Especially our guide Lina (I hope that was her name) was so kind and open for any questions which she patiently answered and also explained so well. We really appreciate the work they do there, it is so important and they are doing a great job. A big big thank you to everyone and again to Lina, we hope your dream of seeing Gorillas one day comes true! We wish the whole team all the best!!

Our guide Nina was simply amazing. She knew a lot about the orang utans individually. So passionate about her love for them. Kudos young lady. The ranger who was feeding them was also very kind and engaging with the orang utans. From the moment we drove to the carpark, got our tickets and arrived and left the sanctuary it was just so beautiful a morning to enjoy in a calm and tranquil place. I started writing with Nina on my mind because her service to the sanctuary is examplary. Thank you Nina from Aunty Yoga and Uncle Rob.

To compare my previous visit in 2021, presently the zoo has not been well maintained with many cages/enclosures are empty and facilities not in good condition. The animals look gloomy, few are skinny and few are obviously can be seen having external injury. Very pity to see their conditions. The trams are all look like new / refurbished, but really hope the welfare/facilities of the animals also heavily taken into account as well. Hopefully the management can do their best to overcome all these issues.

The zoo is beautiful and incredibly spacious, set on a massive 36-acre site with a natural lake and streams running through it. Instead of feeling like concrete enclosures, the animal exhibits are designed to mimic their natural habitats, nestled within lush rainforests and greenery. It feels more like a walk through a beautiful nature park where you just happen to encounter amazing wildlife. We saw a various array of animals, from the majestic Malayan tigers and powerful African lions to graceful giraffes and playful orangutans. The "Elephants of the Perak River" exhibit was a particular highlight! The sheer variety of both local and international wildlife is impressive. But the absolute must-do is the Night Safari! It was a magical experience to see nocturnal animals like hyenas and owls become so active under the special "moonlight" lighting. The sounds of the jungle at night were unforgettable. A word of advice: the place is big, so make use of the free tram service or rent a buggy. We spent a full day here and loved every minute. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone who appreciates nature and wildlife in a beautiful, well-maintained setting!

Zoo was interesting, simple place. Please bring umbrellas or use caps is you plan to walk around. Tram service were prompt and those who wish to just see the animal for a glance can take the ride. Animal was not found in the present heat condition, most of them were in their shades. Liked the guide who was driving the tram. He was good at giving information. He interact with our kids nicely and jokes with them. As for the place, they could have improved it more and made it even more beautiful. Do not expect to see lots of animals.

The entrance fee is RM16, and RM20 for the Night Safari. At the start, there’s a car that takes you around the zoo, but it drives quite fast, so you don’t really get to see much. After that, you can walk around on your own. There are a lot of monkeys, so do be careful. Maintenance wise, it’s not very good — some dirty water, mosquitoes, and quite a few areas are closed off, maybe due to lack of zookeepers. Still, there are quite a lot of animals to see, like giraffes, elephants, swans, orangutans, cassowary (the “killer bird”), and even capybara! Overall, it’s still quite fun to hang out here with friends, family, or your partner. Just don’t expect it to be very well maintained.

Interesting Experience, but Limited Interaction Overall a good experience! You can’t really touch or get close to the animals since everything’s behind cages. I recommend visiting during the day to see more animals.

The zoo is relatively clean, and the animals look healthy and well cared for. It was a bit too dark to explore on our own. Therefore we joined the complimentary tram tour - it was informative and engaging — definitely worth it.

Out of my expectation, the zoo and animals are well-managed. The animals' coat fur are beautiful implying they have been taken care well. When you go you will first ride a toured safari train. Saw tiger, lions, varieties of birds, zebra, giraffe, tapir, sunbear, orangutan, hippo, rhino etc. Very satisfied.

Best park in town (and probably in the entire Perak state!). The park has lush green hills in the backdrop with ponds and lakes everywhere your eyes can see. If you come at the right season, there are plenty of blooming lotuses too. If you're lucky, you might get to see a few colourful birds (but beware of the monkeys!). There are bikes for hire, boating activities, and a heritage trail you can follow. Highly recommend for morning walks and evening strolls.

One of the most beautiful and peaceful parks I’ve ever visited in Malaysia. Taman Tasik Taiping is truly a gem — surrounded by lush greenery, giant rain trees, and a scenic lake that reflects the sky like a mirror. Perfect place for morning walks, jogging, cycling, or just sitting under a tree and soaking in nature. The air is fresh, the atmosphere calm, and the whole area is very well maintained. It’s also a great spot for photography — especially during sunrise or just after rain when the mist lingers over the water. There are also swan boats for rent, a children’s playground, and it’s conveniently located near the Taiping Zoo and the Taiping Lake Gardens. Family-friendly and relaxing — a must-visit if you’re in Taiping!

Gorgeous park! Absolutely stunning views. The 2 coloured lake on each side of a little pathway after the bigger bridge was absolutely serene , tingling your senses! We even rented a bike to ride! Good price too. So pretty!!!

Perched atop Bukit Chandan, Ubudiah Royal Mosque (Masjid Ubudiah) is one of Malaysia’s most magnificent mosques. Commissioned in 1913 by Sultan Idris Murshidul’adzam Shah I as a vow of gratitude after recovering from illness, it was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback in the Indo-Saracenic style, blending Mughal and Moorish influences. The mosque’s gleaming golden dome, four graceful minarets, and white Italian marble make it a visual masterpiece. Its construction was famously delayed when two royal elephants damaged the freshly delivered marble, and further hindered by World War I shortages. Finally completed in 1917, the mosque has stood for over a century as a spiritual and architectural icon of Perak. Inside, visitors find horseshoe arches, Corinthian columns, intricate plasterwork, and a tranquil prayer hall. Next to the mosque lies the Al-Ghufran Royal Mausoleum, final resting place of Perak’s sultans, echoing the mosque’s grandeur in Moghul-style design. Together, they form a harmonious royal precinct that blends faith, history, and artistry—making this a must-see for architecture and heritage lovers.

A very pretty mosque from afar. And we did manage to stop by for friday prayers. Lets dive in! Location: Situated on a hill that needs to be walked in, the mosque is rather prominent from a distance away. There is also a burial site beside the mosque, accessible by the same path up. Parking: There will be slight challenges for those driving big vehicles but motorcycles are rather easy to access. Limited lots within mosque compound. Upkeep: Mosque is clean and very well maintained. Probably due to the nature that this is the royal mosque, it lives up to the name. Congregants will be able to enjoy a serene time here with a water fountain up front. Layout: The dome of the mosque is uniquely bigger than other mosques. Wth gold colours showing both inside and outside, it does show the level of interest in the chosen colour, making it look grand and charismatic. Another interesting aspect of the mosque is that it is created with the octagon shape in the main hall. We definitely had a fascinating visit here and would love to come again.. This mosque under renovation toilet but it has one extra toilet with wuduk's place. The mat in solat hall is so thick. The candeliar is so low. It has many big and small candeliar. The mosque is so beautiful. Come in! Full the mosque!

A must visit historical mosque in kuala kangsar, surrounded by 2 palace. Got parking and hawker outside the mosque. If you visit here, you can visit the palaces too.

It's station. It's whity, clean and modern. It looks very nice. The park in front of the station is very spacy and nice, but the sunshine was too strong, so not so many people were there Lol. Over all, it's very good. Actually the ticket counter's service was also really good.

Breathtaking architecture. A unique blend of Islamic motifs and British colonial design. This railway station is also steeped in history. There are informative posters and signs found throughout the entire station. I would recommend coming a day earlier than your intended departure to purchase your KTM or ETS tickets. That was what I did for my short trip to Taiping.

It was a smooth and quiet ride and the seats (platinum) were fairly comfortable. It doesn't indicate on the ticket itself which platform's train to board so do ask the staff if you aren't sure. The system is somewhat primitive but it works - while QR is used for passengers to enter through the gates, staff would place a physical printed card (with the next train's scheduled arrival time) near the entrance to indicate that it's time for passengers to line up for the train. There would also be a short announcement through the loudspeakers. There is no need to be there too early like in the airports as the process is fairly simple (just don't miss the train!). From my observation, the trains come and leave on time. While I liked the heritage feel of this old building, some parts looked like they needed maintenance. At the front of the building is a park with what seemed like an old, dysfunctional water fountain in the middle of it. You'd also have to pay 30 sen to enter the toilets in the building, so it's best to use the ones in the ETS trains if you're traveling.

It is a grand looking station. The landscaping outside is well maintained and there is a small World War Two memorial in one corner to commemorate the war death. The station itself looks crammed when there are passengers waiting to board. There is even a hotel next to it which I am not sure if it is in operation. Nice place to walk around for while to imagine what it must be like in the past.

The architecture of this building is very unique for a railway station. Never thought it as one at first. One of the landmarks of Ipoh. Located at the center of the town so it's easy for people to find. Very beautiful place especially at night.

Historical railway station. Always nice and clean. Quite spacious and easy to get a seat. Organized area for pick up and drop off. Always nice traveling through Ipoh Railway Station. Always nice to be back in Ipoh after 2 years. Nothing has changed other than the new fancy turn styles that scan your ticket QR code. Washrooms are still reasonably clean and all COVID protocols and best practices were being observed. Never gets old to come back home to Ipoh! Nothing ever changes much at the train station but it is still well maintained and free washrooms today! Bonus! Feels great to be back!

Great to be back here again after away for so many years...thanks to COVID. A very smooth train ride from KL. Always a busy train station and credit to KTM for the very clean coaches and station. Love the heritage look & feel of the station. Glad to see Ipoh so green, lush and well taken care off by the Ipoh council. Keep up the good work.....a sure bet that will boost state tourism.

Good choice for those who wants to go to the theme park and hot springs. The room is spacious and all the amenities are good. The wifi is quite weak, sometimes no connection. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is quite basic. More varieties would be better. The toilet should be improved. In the evening the water flow is very weak. Especially the water heater. Either too cold or too hot cannot make it in the middle. Please kindly fix this.

Stayed at the Sunway Lost World Hotel for a night for SGD102 with access to the night park at Lost World of Tambun and breakfast provide as well which was a great deal. The Lost World of Tambun was supposed to enjoy their hot spring la but hor I see already I scare sia. Like many people nvm looks very eeeeee 🫣 I feel kids will like it so much more loh. But for the price we paid it's alright la. Got animal to see, we anyhow walk walk see see also spent nearly 2hrs inside 😅 Hotel room Aircon is power, toothbrush soft and good. Shampoo not good will make hair like grass but their hairdryer strong so ended up not too bad. But got like those drain flies la 🫣 Overall a decent stay I would say.

Stay one night in exotic triple room, room size just good for 3 persons. For me, everything in the room is ok. Room comes with 3 tickets for Lost World Night Park. If compare to 9 years ago, i think there is an improvement in the park overall. The petting zoo is beyond my expectation, an animal paradise for kids. There are more food stall compared to years before. One needs to pay for the food at a cashier counter first, then go to the food kiosk and show them your receipt. A good place to spend a night, soaking in the hot pool, walking thru the park in dark etc. But but, the breakfast selection is quite limited, hope the management may consider to offer more variety of food such as local kuih or maybe more hot meal like fried rice, especially on Sundays.

The only great thing about this hotel is it's location, complimentary LWOT Night Park tickets and efficient Front Desk staff. My bathroom shower head holder was broken. Room wasn't clean. There were drain flies (tiny flying insects) hanging about inside the bathroom. There were biscuit crumbs in the coffee/tea holder. Hand towels were not provided. For these type of pricing, this is supposed to be a basic requirement. My room faced the back of people's homes (see photo) And bring a travel charger. The USB-C wall outlets power is too weak - it takes hours to charge. No in-house restaurant. Be prepared to drive out for meals.

Total of 3 floors, with many rooms. The room we got was clean and spacious. One thing I like is that they give refill glass bottle in the room. Usually we get like only 2 500ml bottles. This they gave us 2 big glass bottle and unlimited refilled. The place is very near to the water theme park. We got to enjoy the park in the night with heated water pool.

It was the worst. Only cold water came out of the shower. I was told to wait 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, and in the end, only cold water came out all night. They said they couldn't change rooms because they were fully booked, so they just left it at that. Every time I contacted them, they were vague and hesitant. The next day, the manager came out, but he just smirked and didn't respond properly. He said he'd email me later, but I still haven't heard from him. I'll never go there again.

The hotel is already old and tired! The corridor is very narrow . The room not so bad, well equipped. But there are no place in lobby , this is my first experience of hotel where is the lobby and waiting zone so tiny and small! About the breakfast it’s average for 3 star hotel!

Very nice place. Xtahu pun Kene ada appointment for visit this place. But the in charge person very nice and we can visit this place. The guide explain about this mining museum very pleasantly. 3 floor building u have claim stairs for 2n 3 floor.

My first time to this place as an Ipohite. My family members have been multiple times bringing visitors here whenever they pop by. Reservation is required and can be done online. The tour is conducted in English and done professionally with some humor thrown in. Tour lasts exactly one hour and is not too draggy and boring. The museum is pretty well manicured considering it is a private initiative. Kudos and keep it up!!!

Need to book online through their website ipohworld, even if no entrance fee (donation possible). The visit is systematically with a guide who prints out the list of guests. His explanations are clear with a nice sense of humor. Pet Soo means mansion in Hakka dialect, so this place is a club for rich Hakka men in tin business founded in 1893. The notes, photos and maps are good quality. Only the wall drawings (tin exploitation system, tin dredger and so on) and the wax figures are low quality. As it’s a guided tour, need to follow the pace of the guide and cannot take your freedom to go back to a specific area of the 3 levels of the mansion.

Terrific place, a must go to understand local history and cultural heritage. The guided tour is fantastic, and I love the speaker’s patience as he tells the story of Ipoh. Definitely five stars for the guide for being so professional. Just wanted to say that I think one of the introductions on F2 seems to in wrong, see picture, about the Hakka people, the map and EN version seems to be accurate, saying that they originated from Shanxi山西，but the Chinese version mistakenly wrote Shaanxi 陕西, which is another province. Hope there’s somebody that can correct this

History of ipoh through tin mining period. Great guide tour. Need to book it online. It's free, but a donation of 10MYR suggested and is very reasonable. Very informative guide and good exhibition of life during the mining periods. Recommend.

Impressive place to learn about the history of Ipoh and hakka gang during the early time. Guided tour very comprehensive, display items inside very nice n well maintained. We did not do any booking, were passby n allow to join the tour in 10mins.

A narrow alley way that was about 100m in length. It features shops on both sides selling food and other knick knacks. Quite interesting. Was there on a weekday and the crowd was quite thin. I suppose that it can get crowded on weekends. Worth a detour here if you are around the vicinity.

This is one of the most interesting streets I have ever seen. It is filled with different shops on both sides. But the style of the street made me feel like I had entered a crowded street in China. But I really liked the road.

Was sorely disappointed to know it’s just 1 narrow alley with shops targeted at tourists. The shops carry no sense of their old charm except for how they look and where they’re situated.

Personally I loved it so much. If you are not a big fan of shopping, this isnt the place for you because the crowd here is crazy. I loved looking through stuffs so this is the perfect place for me. Cute clothing stores, got wagyu skewers, rainbow toast, raindrop mochi some sort of stuff, rainbow jelly etc. Highlight is definitely the pocket watches! Super cute!

Parking is free but limited. The entrance fee is RM10 for Malaysian, and RM30 for foreigners. The trail is an easy walk with a wooden staircase and walkway, and the view from the top is beautiful. We went without a guide, so we didn't get to learn about the history of forest and plants. Be prepared for the cold temperatures and note that there are no toilets available.

-Trail lasted about 15 to 30 minutes -Its a Forest so there is lots of nature around and especially lots of moss trees, when we reached the viewing tower view was breathtaking I've attached a picture of the view -I thoroughly enjoyed the nature walk; it was a pleasant experience and is highly recommended. Please note we went when it was not raining and early morning so if you go when it's raining the steps may be slippery so be careful also I wore shorts I was cold initially but when start walking it's okay 👍 Also you need to buy tickets online

Lovely place! No need for a sunny weather, being inside the clouds makes it even more magical :) No mosquito but a bit chilly so take a jacket or sweater. Entrance fee is 30RM/person, trail is very easy, around 30min. You need a 4WD to go up there and down (30-45min each way) so I recommend to book your transport in advance (private driver or book a tour) because you probably won’t find a Grab to take you and walking there is not really possible (road with no sidewalk on several km).

Well, if this place happens to be on your hiking or walking trail, then yes, do visit it. ​The idea of driving to this place, especially after four hours in traffic, is baffling. It is perhaps 100 meters of crowded boardwalk, and while the moss is there, it is not overwhelming. I saw comparable moss on my hiking trails (10, 6, 12).

Compare to sunny weather and raining foggy weather, I prefer the rainy one. You’re literally in the cloud, everything looks so magical. I’m so obsessed with the view. Even though you can’t see anything far away, the view surrounds you and it’s already made you amazed. I hope heaven looks like this. If you think it’s about to rain, you better bring your own raincoat, but if you don’t, you need to pay RM5 for their disposable raincoat.

Had been wanting to come here ever since I saw a poster many years back. Except I had wanted to hike here- I was quite surprised to find out that the trail is a bunch of wooden steps. Had fun walking about and clicking pics at every corner. The ticket price is rather high though - 30rm per person for foreigners regardless of whether you have an iKad or not.

Stunning view on the top and the trail n.1 which brings you here It's gonna leave you breathless. Just pay attention to the tickets, if you reach the top of the mossy forest with a rented scooter few guys in the parking lot will take pictures of your plate and instantly send that to the policeman nearby. Just leave the scooter at the bottom of the main road or at the beginning of the trail.

We went for the river standup paddle board in Gopeng. It was professionally conducted by the team. We were guided by 2 awesome and reliable guides. The experience was relaxing fun, if you want something less intense than white water. Lunch was served after the activity. I have nothing to complain. Thank you NOMAD 💪

What's not to like? The accommodations are clean and well-kept. They're quick to respond to any questions or problems and were very professional throughout our trip. We booked for River Safari and Caving Gua Tempurung and each activity started with a detailed briefing on how to save ourselves and what to do if we couldn't as well as the equipment needed. Caving was actually so fun! We were worried we would be cramped in the cave with the other 50+ people but when it actually mattered, we were pretty much alone with our guides and no other group was nearby which was a big plus. One of the staff mentioned Gopeng having very unpredictable weather so be sure to be prepared for any possibilities. Safe to say, she was absolutely right as we were facing the agonizingly bright sun from morning to afternoon and a storm that got all our things wet, including our tent, from midnight to the next morning. Any info regarding food, nearby restaurants or activities will be provided by the staff when asked. 10/10 amazing place.

We’re from BRP Animal Clinic, Bukit Rahman Putra, Sungai Buloh, and had our team-building trip here. The place is pet-friendly, with clean rooms and toilets. Food was tasty and well-portioned, though the BBQ night spread was huge! Hospitality was superb — our PIC, June, went above and beyond. We lost our cake and snacks in the common fridge, and she replaced them FOC, which was incredibly kind. We enjoyed our presentations, movie night, and karaoke, and the whole stay was relaxing, fun, and well-organized. One of the most comfortable and well-managed campsites we’ve been to. Highly recommended!

Our recent 3-day, 2-night trip with Nomad Adventure Gopeng was everything we hoped for and more! We had such an enjoyable time diving into all the activities they offered. Camp amenities are good and equipment quality is top notch. During our recent Nov trip, we had the pleasure of having Imman and Meor lead the white water kayaking and mountain biking trips. AMAZING!! I was there for 3D2N and thoroughly enjoyed myself, thanks to the Nomad Team. From liaising with Jun who explained everything clearly to arriving to the site with yummy lunch already prepared, I was set for a good time. The first activity was cycling and our guides Iman & Haidar took us on scenic routes around the kampung. The following day was caving in Gua Tempurung + white water rafting with Fitri & Meor. The final leg of our adventure was the Mountain School with Fitri & Zaf. All activities were well organised, educational and most importantly we all felt safe with the guides. The Nomad way is to keep smiling and that is a mantra that I will carry with me, a reminder that we can do hard things! Thank you Nomad Team, im already looking forward to another Gopeng trip! 🤩

Beautiful place and fun experience for all ages! Big Red Strawberry Farm is one of the best attractions in Cameron Highlands — clean, well-maintained, and filled with fresh strawberries you can pick yourself. The strawberries are sweet and juicy, and the café serves delicious strawberry desserts, waffles, and drinks. The hydroponic vegetable gardens and flower displays are lovely too! Staff are friendly and helpful, making the visit smooth and enjoyable. A must-stop for families, couples, or anyone who loves nature and fresh strawberries! 🍓🌼☕

Great strawberry and flower plantation for the tourist attraction. Their snacks were cheap and delicious. You can ask for fresh strawberry juice and pancake. Definitely worth to visit. I found the greenies lettuce in the farm too, looked so delicious. Oh, a great place to take many pictures with your family and friends. Recommend to visit there. 👍

Pluck your own strawberries themed farm where you can pluck your strawberries directly. Upon purchasing the tickets, you will be given a scissor and a box in which you can pluck upto 1kg of strawberries. Located on a mountains, it takes alot if energy to reach here😂. After plucking they have a minimart where you can purchase strawberries, souvenirs. Good for families and children. Worth trying

Pretty relaxing and enjoyable experience of plucking strawberries. The farm was not too crowded when we visited. There are many pretty flowers in the farm too. Would recommend for a family trip.

It’s a great place to explore for those who love nature. It’s not that cold, you can use shorts and short sleeves. Best to wear shoes as there’s uphill walking.

The road is steep so make sure your car brakes are working well and you know how to handle steep climbs. I have visited other farms previously. But this one was far more organised and well kept than many. Strawberries were luscious and tasty too.

Came here the second time recently and it was just as nice as the first. Love the flowers and the farm setup with the strawberry and lettuce picking spots as well. Also the strawberries from here were extremely sweet (in a good way!) even without the dipping honey/chocolate. If you come to Cameron you must come to Big Red. It's a rite of passage.

Had an absolutely awesome time here. We only did the dry walk yet it was totally worth the trip. You don't need to book in advance. The entire walk way to platform 5 was well posted with cement. There are quite a lot of stairway so if you are not so for then not advisable to take tour 2. The toilets are well equipped with shower facilities and i must say it is one of cleanest public toilets I've seen.

Visiting Gua Tempurung was such an adventurous and memorable experience. The cave is huge and beautifully maintained, with impressive limestone formations that make every step inside feel like a discovery. The tour was well organized and safe, with clear paths and knowledgeable guides who explained the history and geology in an engaging way. It’s both educational and exciting, especially if you enjoy nature and exploring unique places. We booked a Grab to get here, and the fee was around 50 SGD including 3 hours of waiting time, which was very convenient and worth it. Walking inside the cave gave me a mix of wonder and awe — a truly unforgettable highlight of the trip!

Had a really good time. You need to pay an entrance fee, but it’s worth it. The cave has 5 tracks to choose from – 2 are casual and good for an easy walk, while the other 3 are extreme tracks where you need to wear special gear. I tried it out and it was exciting. Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit of adventure.

Took Tour 1, which was the (supposedly) easy route. Unique experience. Enjoyed the views of the nature sculptured beauty of the cave. More signages to provide more information would be great.

Beautiful caves. That blinking colourful led light is kinda unnecessary and it would be much better if it was the yellowish light. Eh, if you wanna visit, don't la go and conteng the cave wall like uncivilised caveman. Noone cares whether if your whole family went there or you love your girlfriend or not...

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ The free public toilet at Gua Tempurung can be a tad confusing. When you approach the toilet complex you will see signage indicating the ladies is on the left and gent is on the right. BUT!!! Be aware that the both left and right side on the front of the toilet complex are for ladies. The gent sign on the right is indicating that the PATH to the gent toilet is on the right side of the complex. You need to walk around the building on the right side of the toilet complex, circling to the back to reach the gent's toilet. Obviously I made this warning because I (a man) walked right into the ladies... 😅😅😅 Anyway, This is a nice place. Have multiple level of difficulties. 5 stages in total. Stage 1 is very manageable for older children, poor fitness adults and very fit elderly. Stage 2 suitable for youths and fit adults. Stage 3,4 and 5 need protective gears and involves crawling and wading in water. I only managed stage 1. Already out of breath by the end of that stage. Involves quite a few up and down flights of stairs. Stage 1 ends where stage 2 begins. I shudder at the steepness of the stairs. The latter stages loops back to the entrance following the waterway below the stage 1 walkway. If want to tackle the latter stages, comes with proper attire and be prepared to get wet and dirty.

Absolutely stunning! Loved every minute of our family's 2 hours at Bharat.. the views, the walk... and the tea of course! (Ginger was my favourite!) I would absolutely recommend walking up the hill to the giant letters, but then continuing along the smaller path around the back that takes you to a quieter area of the plantation. It was idyllic. That is, apart from the ATV quad bikes that tear along the route every so often.. what a shame the plantation feels it needs to invest in such an environmentally terrible form of entertainment for guests 😞 (The 5 star review remains though despite this let down!)

Benches placed so if you’re tired can sit and rest , park for kids , squad bikes , buggy rides Peace full place . Nice place for photography . Tickets 4 RM for adults (by walk) 20 RM for adults (buggy) Free tea pack for each ticket.

What can I say that hasn't been said in all the great reviews! It is amazing, refreshing and exciting! The route to the Bharat Tea Plantation is quite tricky. So many curves and at some points, there are no fences. It felt like we're flying over the forest. Once you arrive, by bus in my case, at the bus terminal, there are taxis with fixed tour prices and duration: 1 hour for 30 ringgit. The tour's minimum duration is 3 hours. The tour includes the tea Plantation, bee farm, strawberry farm. The driver said there were different farm and Plantations and explained we can only those he chose due to the very limited time that I had. I took the bus back to Kuala Lumpur right after the tour. The last bus is at 5:30 pm, so if you are not planning to stay the night in Cameron Highlands, then make sure you're there at bus terminal on time ( my experience, they are usually late) About the Plantation, you pay 4 ringgit if you want to go on foot, or 20 if you want to take the golf cart, which also includes a gift tea bag. The atmosphere is phenomenally relaxing and refreshing!

Entrance fee is RM4 per adult (walk-in), and RM20 if you opt for the buggy ride. The café isn’t as polished as the Boh Tea Centre, but it still offers decent options, a variety of teas, pau, cakes, ice cream, and puffs. The walking path is fairly steep, though there are plenty of benches to rest along the way. Parking on weekends can be tricky; you should leave your car along the roadside.

For a small fee, the Bharat Tea estate allows for visitors to trek into the scenic green tea plantation up to a platform on the other side of the Cameronian Valley tea plantation which overlooks the entire vista of the valley. Most of the tea bushes from the older sections of the estate are grown from cuttings of the original orange pekoe tea plants from the tea growing regions of Assam, Northern India. There's also a small gazebo here where you can purchase a tea drink to quench your thirst from trekking around the estate. The gazebo is located at the foot of the valley where a fish filled stream runs through. You could say it's really like living within a postcard. Highly recommended you try the trek at least once when visiting one of the older tea estates around the Highlands.

Mmm nothing special. Too many flies. To me, quite expensive to get in and buggy ride if you choose walking ok but u will be very tired. I think just taking photos outside the parking road is enough.

Memorial place and full of history. Walking and enjoying the street view and food is the best moment in the morning. No need to queue to enter the Menara Condong. Hopefully the town is able to be kept cleaner in the near future to preserve the historical place and building. There are local food too. Love the small town! 🤩

The surrounding area is clean, with local food stalls, shops, and friendly locals that make the visit even more enjoyable. It’s a must-see if you're exploring Perak — whether you're a history buff, a photography lover, or just looking for a nice spot to relax and soak in some Malaysian heritage. Definitely worth the stop!

The Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan, or Menara Condong, is the town’s most iconic landmark and a must-visit attraction when exploring Perak. Visiting the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan is worthwhile for several compelling reasons—whether you're a history enthusiast, a photography lover, or just exploring Perak. Why it's a must-visit is because of its unique architectural wonder. Built in 1885, the structure appears to have 8 storeys, but actually has 3 internal levels. The tower leans due to soft ground and its heavy water tank, giving it a fascinating tilt that attracts visitors from across the country.

A memorable landmark in the town centre. Beautiful colours and architecture. The open space or square allows the structure to be appreciated by everyone who visits the area. Unfortunately, I arrived much earlier than the opening hours of the tower. The early hour probably made the place even more picturesque. No visitors to spoil photos. The pigeons made it feel like a foreign country.

Do visit during the day, buy ticket (RM2) and visit inside for more historical moment of this tower with top view around. Then come back again for the light during night time (different time different vibe).

A peaceful and breezy spot that’s great for a quick escape to relax and unwind. The strong winds and calm vibe make it perfect for just sitting back and enjoying the atmosphere. However, don’t expect much from the beach itself. The sea water is unfortunately quite dirty, so it’s more of a chill-and-enjoy-the-view type of place rather than one for swimming.

The beach was a complete disappointment. The place had a very bad smell, which made it uncomfortable to stay and enjoy. The so-called “pink beach play area” was also a total letdown — it felt more like a marketing gimmick than an actual attraction. Overall, not worth visiting at all.

nice for lepak, not for swimming. there’s plenty of makan-makan and street food around and also have a funfair area, entry is RM5, and you need to buy tokens separately for each ride. It’s a fun spot to hang out, but don’t expect too many activities. good for a chill evening stroll and snacking.

Unique experience. Seafood was very fresh and aromatic. Wet market’s fish look very fresh. The wishing tree is a-must-try destination.

We enjoyed walking around the beach, taking pictures with the nice beach scenery as backdrop. Then enjoyed seafood lunch at the food court nearby. Good atmosphere. The elderly and the young were happy.

Visited on 19/10/2025 … Honestly? So much to improve on. ESPECIALLY the toilet .. RM0.50 to enter, but everything seems to be spoiled! - Toilet can’t be flushed - Dirty floors and dirty cubicles - Water is super low pressure and slow - USED Pads/pantyliner hung on a small bottle to be exposed The uncle who takes care of the toilet would chase after you asking for payment before entering the toilet. But the maintenance is soooo bad. This place should also consider building another toilet place nearby the beach for beach goers. I saw a mother letting her kid piss on the concrete road next to food stalls cause the toilet was seemingly too “far away” and the kid can’t hold it in. Very unhygienic. Temple looks beautiful, beach looks lively with everyone playing their kites but I think this place is overrated. Super crowded on weekends and very jam to go in. Would recommend to go on weekdays when there’s not many tourists.

best to come around late May, dry and harvest season and recommended to come around 3pm, as 5pm things can get crowded and hazardous when there’s many cars and motorcyclist drive safely as there’s no proper sign and small roads

Large parcels of green paddy field on the opposite side of the beach....definitely worthwhile to spend time to take in the views and enjoy a drink at one of the many homestays or hotels....every soothing to the eyes and body.

A popular place to visit if you're around Kuala selangor where you're surrounded by the famous paddy field in gold colours when it's about to harvest. Be sure to come with umbrella or sunglasses , weather maybe too harsh or rains. Be careful with the harvesting truck as well . Good place for photography and visits.

Sekinchan is definitely worth the visit. It is a small beach side fishing village with golden paddy fields if you come during the right season 🌾 It is best to visit early in the morning to avoid heat or during dusk the golden hour for beautiful shots 💚💛

Follow a very winding road for several km down from Fraser's Hill, and you'll find a rocky stream running through a maintained area and after maybe 1km walk a pleasant waterfall cascading into a shady pool. There are artificial retaining walls to manage waterflow that slightly detract from the natural ambience. I gather the various small buildings fell into disrepair during covid, and it looked like the local community are renovating, so, again, it's not a wilderness experience. I was looking for butterflies out of season, and I saw some very good species; Malayan Owl, Autumn Leaf, Jewelled Nawab, Constable and plenty more....

After it was closed in 2019 and refurbished, it open again this year (2025). Look more neat and with more facilities this time. Loved the waterfall. But there are so many steep steps near the waterfall. Note: can go camping there and there are people who will supervise the place at night.

Amazing place! The waterfall stream is strong and refreshing, with natural pools deep enough for swimming and even a quick dive. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the entrance. Please bring a bag to collect your rubbish and help keep the area clean. Avoid going during bad weather, as the water level can rise quickly.

Entrance ticket is needed to visit here. If you wish to camp, you will need to pay for it too. The waterfall is very fast but not very amazing. The volume of water is quite small. The way to the waterfall is pathed with wooden path with anti slip wax on it. This prevents you from falling. To reach the waterfall, it takes around 5 minutes walk from the entrance. There are many camping sites along the route.

A must go whenever we stay here at Fraser’s Hill. Just prepare some food and spend 1/2 day in this waterfall. One thing this is a safe and well covered falls for adults and kids. Highly recommended ☝🏻

The road to get here is so spooky. Definitely worth the visit because the environment is so relaxing. Perfect for those who love nature (obviously). Need to pay RM2 for entrance.

The waterfall itself is very beautiful and set in a peaceful atmosphere. However, the path leading to it is in need of repair and isn't wheelchair friendly. The bathrooms in the waterfall area were very dirty and completely unusable. The entrance ticket costs RM2 per person, and camping sites are available for rent at varying prices.

Just because of silver leaf monkeys...they are adorable. Just wanted to say for people visiting, please bring them fruits, not sandwiches or sweets. And certainly don't give them Cola to drink 🙏🙏

One of the most scenic spots in Malaysia that’s away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Although it’s a bit far away from KL, it’s still worth it for a change of scenery. Arriving in the area at sunset is an advantage for some amazing instagrammable pictures. Monkeys in that area are used to visitors and just roaming around for food, so they aren’t hostile at all.

It's a place that you either like or dislike. If you like a low difficulty walk up and down slope with family that's ok. If you are afraid of monkeys then it's not a place you will appreciate. There's tram (not really a tram) service to bring you up to the small hill, rm5 per adult, rm3 per child.

Take in the views, the monkeys, the lighthouse and the museum. A quiet idyllic place, hot in the afternoons and not much else. Needs more details, landscape/environment design to create the sense of place, to linger/explore and to enjoy.

Nice as usual...Tourism Selangor and Majlis Daerah has done good upgrading of trams, added murals and also better the road to the top. Trees have been trimmed . The museum on site is awesome and informative. Upgraded the air cond means we can cool down if you arrive in the midday like us !

Family trip of 4 on a public holiday. Tramp ride RM5 per adult. Museum ticket RM3 per adult. Nice looking lighthouse. The Lotong Silver Monkey was super friendly. Their feeds sold there. 2 museums on top. Great view of Straits of Melaka. Good value. Fun activities for family.

We visited here on the way back to penang from KL. It was RM60 per boat for 4 people but they let us have 5 people cuz we're a family. It was nice and cold but scary even tho nothing bad happened. I wouldn't recommend for kids and senior but maybe calm adults. The fireflies were kinda small because it just rained that time. They let u on a boat, go to a bush about 500m away to see the fireflies in the water. The boat was paddling boat not engine. They provide you life jackets incase of emergency. It was scary at first but it became ok Scary cuz it was only available at night and the water was dark. Luckily it was a moon night , butthe boat driver say moon night worse cuz harder to see the fireflies

The best place in town to see fireflies! An incredible experience! They take you quietly down the river in a small boat (maximum four people) which makes the experience much more environmentally friendly. We recommend it and would definitely repeat! Much better than any other crowded tour!

Good experience for the family members to watch the fireflies. Very enjoyable sampan cruise along the river. The staff are friendly and courteous to the visitors. Safety jackets are compulsory to be worn during the cruise.

I love this unique experience, so quite so peace rolling the boat on the stream while witnessing the firefly, river, mangrove, night sky and trees. Highly recommend to you that looking for unique experiences. My boy love it too!

Took 'sampan' for a short tour to see fire flies. Max. 4 pax per boat. Very good tour guide to explain about the type of Fireflies, history, etc. But really nearby the jetty only. Unfortunately, not many Fireflies. A bit disappointed.

A must-visit gem in Genting Highlands! Chin Swee Caves Temple is one of the most peaceful and scenic spots in the highlands. The temple sits high up the mountain, surrounded by mist and lush greenery, giving it a calm and spiritual atmosphere. The traditional Chinese architecture, colorful pagoda, and intricate statues are absolutely beautiful — perfect for photos and reflection. Entry is free, and you can easily reach the temple via the Awana SkyWay cable car, which stops right at the temple level. There’s a small café and a few stalls nearby, but the main attraction is the view — especially when the clouds clear and you can see the valleys below. Do wear comfortable shoes and bring a light jacket, as it can get quite chilly and there are several stairs to climb. It’s a wonderful place for both tourists and those seeking a quiet moment of peace. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Genting!

This place is very scenic. We visited the place after getting down from the cable car in between. Since they have escalators to go this place it was very convenient. Beautiful surrounding. You have limited options of snacks and ice creams in case you want to try one. Overall a wonderful experience and you can visit this place for free in case you are travelling on the cable car to Genting.

A peaceful and serene retreat above the clouds - the atmosphere is calm with a magnificent open floor overlooking a grand Buddha statue that inspires quiet reflection. The temple’s intricate architecture and scenic mountain backdrop make it a perfect spot to unwind and take in the beauty of nature. There are also convenient kiosks and probably a small restaurant nearby.

Must visit. Very Cool temple with an authentic vibe. On the way to genting highlands. Some guides may discourage telling that the return cable cars may be full. But it is possible to get seats. We had to wait only 5-10 mins to get a cable car with enough seating on the return trip. Try to visit in evening so that you get the cool breeze. Lots of cool pathways to explore on the mountain side, as part of the journey to enlightemnment walkway. Highly photogenic areas. Breathtaking views.

One of the most peaceful and beautiful places in Malaysia! I’ve visited Chin Swee Caves Temple many times — the drive up is always amazing, with cool weather and stunning mountain views. The temple is calm, spiritual, and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. A perfect place to relax, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful vibes above the clouds. 🌿🏯☁️

This is such a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by nature—perfect for a relaxing escape from the busy city. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, especially with the cool mountain air. There are a few small shops around where you can grab a hot drink, which feels amazing in the chilly weather. The temple itself is well-maintained, always clean, and you can see that regular repairs and care are done to preserve its beauty and spiritual atmosphere. Whether you're coming for the cultural experience, the scenery, or just to take a peaceful walk, this place is definitely worth visiting. Without a doubt, if I return to Malaysia again as a tourist, this will be one of the top places on my list to visit. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys nature, culture, and a calm spiritual vibe.

Unfortunately the place was closed when we visited Batu cave. In case it is opened when you visit, please ensure that you enter the dark cave because YOUR REAL ADVENTURE STARTS HERE. The entrance to the cave starts on the left hand side once you climb the steps to the temple.

Batu Caves stands as an unmissable icon of Kuala Lumpur, and thankfully, reaching this majestic landmark is incredibly straightforward. Forget the stress of navigating traffic or crowded buses; the train offers the most convenient, economical, and comfortable journey directly to its doorstep. Upon arrival, you'll be immediately captivated by the sheer scale of the golden Lord Murugan statue, a truly impressive sight, flanked by a collection of other vibrantly adorned temples. The famous, multi-hued steps leading up to the main cave are an experience in themselves, promising fantastic photo opportunities at every turn. What's more, there's no fixed entrance fee for the main cave and temple area, allowing visitors the freedom to contribute as they wish. While at Batu Caves, consider venturing into the Dark Cave. A ticket for non-Malaysians is RM15. There's typically a brief 15-minute wait before entering, which offers a perfect moment to prepare yourself at the entrance. You'll be equipped with a headlamp, and then it's simply a matter of following the designated path. My personal experience with the Dark Cave was a mixed bag. While it's certainly a cool respite from the heat and a decent activity, it didn't quite leave a lasting impression as "special." The sheer volume of visitors, combined with the natural presence of bats and their droppings, made it feel less like a pristine natural wonder and more like a well-trodden path. Although other creatures are mentioned at the entrance, I only encountered bats. However, the very end of the cave does offer a moment of beauty, with a striking beam of light piercing through the darkness. The staff were commendable, providing clear and helpful instructions, and it's wise to wear appropriate footwear as the cave floor can be a little slippery. Overall, it's a pleasant diversion and a good addition to your Batu Caves visit, but perhaps manage expectations regarding its unique "wow" factor.

The adventure tour was closed and nothing mentioned on the website. On google map it says open at 9:30 but they opened at 12 and they gave headlamps to tour ourselves. It took us 30 minutes from start to finish.

It’s a fine place to visit and learn some history about the Indian history in Malaysia. The place is also a home of native monkeys, they live conformably with the tourists and the temples and added attractions to place.

You have to get a ticket for visiting this, it will be a 45 mins of time for the entire trip in and out. It will be pitch dark at some points and in some it looks so beautiful. I decided to visit this place just after stepping out of Batu caves. They have age group from which they allow, so if your taking your children have a look at the clause before and plan accordingly. The guide with us was extremely comfortably with what he needs to explain us and she did a great job and everyone who were with me all unknown were happy that we took this up.

Pretty nice bonus after all the stairs up to the batu caves. While not cheap for a less than 1 hour tour, it is definitely unique and educational. Most of all, it is pretty scenic and exciting. If price doesn't feel too prohibitive, definitely worth a try.

Educational trip of the fauna and flora of the cave. The cave is completely dark. The price of trip is adult RM 35 and child (below 12 years) RM 25. The trip took about 40-45 minutes. Helmet and torch light is provided. A good place to explore the ecosystem.

A very beautiful and airy place on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur city. The base of these caves is a famous Hindu temple with a historical significance. There’re coffee shops and food joints for visitors to savour before and after visiting the place. There’re two temples on both sides of the compound and more than 100 colourful stairs to the cave entrance. The caves are very old but maintained nicely. There’re small temples in the caves as well. Ample parking space for the place and a very relaxing yet enjoyable scenery from the place. The brass golden statue of the lord is the biggest attraction point of this spot.

Unfortunately the Murugan statue is under restoration work and wrapped up in scaffolding, but still the vibe at this beautiful temple complex around and inside if the impressive Batu cave is worth the visit. Goosebump feeling when slowly ascending on the steep stairs, feeling like back in India. Fantastic. Breathtaking when entering the cave at first and stunned by this huge dimensions.

The staff and devotees are kind and respectful, always willing to guide visitors. It’s easily accessible by train or taxi from Kuala Lumpur, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. Batu Caves is not just a tourist attraction—it’s a spiritual landmark that leaves you with a sense of calm, admiration, and deep cultural appreciation.

Beautiful by day, but extremely hot especially when you have to walk up the several million steps. Gorgeous by night, especially when the crowds have died down after 8pm, the temples start wrapping up and shut at 9, but the area stays open to take pictures till 10pm. Word of warning though, Grab cars can only be booked to the Exit 3 (in the back?), but that exit closes then the temples do, so it's better to head out of the main exit before booking yourself a Grab out - the signage does a terrible job of communicating this.

Batu Caves is undoubtedly one of Malaysia’s most iconic cultural and religious landmarks, and our visit to this impressive site was both fascinating and insightful. Located just outside Kuala Lumpur, the attraction is easily accessible and offers a blend of spirituality, history, nature, and adventure. Although our experience was overall positive, there were a few aspects—particularly the maintenance work on the Lord Murugan statue—that slightly affected the visit. Upon arriving, the sheer size and beauty of the Batu Caves complex immediately stood out. The long flight of 272 colorful steps leading to the main Temple Cave is a defining feature and provides a vibrant welcome. The steps themselves are beautifully painted and make for an eye-catching view, especially when combined with the energetic presence of monkeys and the constant movement of visitors. Climbing them was a mix of fun and challenge, but definitely manageable with short breaks and hydration.

Entry is free. Before you enter itself, You see Lord Kartikeya standing tall and One has to climb 272 steps to reach the top where the Sanctum sanctorum of the God is there. The first level upstairs has set of small temples and we can get offerings to provide. Then there is one more level. Even though it can get hot downstairs, It feels cool once you enter upstairs inside the cave. Beautiful and amazing temple. Monkeys are a menace. Don't keep anything in hand while climbing up esp food. Must visit if you are in KL.

Clean, spacious and colorful; with newly built souvenir shops and spacious parking lot inside...surprisingly the parking fee for car is very cheap, just rm3 per entry. And theres no entrance fee for individual. But u need to wear proper clothing, otherwise need to wear covered skirt for a fee.. Recommended to bring small fan, drinks, and hat. Its streinuous trek up the stair, but then theres cute monkeys to look at and u will be greeted with cool breeze and big cave when reaching the top. Definitely one of the recommended activity to do

Zoo Negara is still offering birthday month complimentary ticket! Redemption is hassle free. Just fill up a Google form and show your IC at the counter for your wristband. Nothing short of our national zoo. I’m glad to see the animals are well fed as they are no longer skinny and look healthy, clean and well looked after. Some areas are closed for maintenance but that’s just a few of the whole big zoo. The live show is also amazing. Truly impressed by the caliber the zoo is showcasing. Plenty of benches for you to rest throughout the whole area. Although the panda exhibit is no longer available (pandas have been returned), but happy to see the zoo is making good use of the space. Please note that zoo parking is RM15 per entry. A bit pricey but it is well coordinated so it’s a seamless entry. Hope the parking fees go to the zoo for management of the place as well.

Went here on Friday. It took me around 2-3 hours to finished walking and watching all animals here. I literally watch every single animals that were available that day. Sadly there was no animals show on friday. The staffs were attentive enough to help me claim the birthday treat free ticket. The crowd on that day was okay. Not too packed. So i get to take my time to look at each animals a lil longer. Advisable to follow the map route so you won't miss any animals. I started from the left side of entrace A and finished on the right side of the same entrace. Shuttle service was provided but i think it only reach at certain places. I used the toilet behind a souvenir store near entrace A and it was clean. Overall, really satisfied with my experience here.

Had a great time at Zoo Negara! So many animals to see — giraffes, tigers, penguins, tapir, birds, reptiles, everything! The siamang was super loud and funny 😂 The zoo is clean, easy to walk around, and the animal show was really cute. I came solo and still enjoyed it a lot. Worth the visit! 💛

We visited Zoo Negara with our family on a weekday. Since we didn’t purchase tickets in advance, we had to wait in line for quite a while. As expected, foreign visitors had to pay a higher ticket price compared to locals. That said, the zoo itself was worth the visit ,there were plenty of animals to see and spacious areas to explore. The kids especially had a lot of fun, and there were also things that adults could enjoy. Overall, it was a fun and memorable family outing.🤩

-Got free pass for the birthday promo(thank you) -Start the tour by visiting the animal show, quite fun to see it live,some show got skip due to animal flee, its normal anyway -the aquatic enclosure doesnt have much except for the penguin but hard to see due to water density -hypo is fine, just chilling, -monkey chilling around -capybara and oyen cute as always -sunbear looks healthy -wallabi deer kancil and family all relaxing -snake is beautiful -kokodile is kokodile -big cat most of them are sleeping -apoh the black panther really fat -have a chance to see playful act at mini savana -camel sleep -sad no panda, panda auntie sller said maybe next year new panda arrive. -bird are playful, love the enclosure where merak chicken n turkey? roaming free -orangutan cover his head with sack(its rainining lightly) -most snack and beverage are about 2 -4 times pricier than outside -Parking last year rm10, now rm15 per entry

Spending 3–4 hours in zoo negara is no a big problem — watching the animals is very chill too. Animals are well feed, big compound. Perhaps some animals is only one, perhaps look a bit lonely. They also offer a free birthday ticket within 30 days after your birthday, which is great. Although the pandas were under quarantine during my visit, I’ll definitely go again soon.

Redeeming free birthday ticket was so easy. Just scan the QR, register and proceed to counter 4 with your IC to get wristband. The place is big. For those didn't want to walk, tram service available for you. A place to eat, toilet, souvenir shop and surau also available. So much animal to explore, read the informative sign, and good for you and your family knowledge and watch live animals. Ticket price (M'sian) = adult RM48 Parking per entry = RM15 Will repeat again when Panda conservatory is open to public.
