Islands
If you're seeking a slice of paradise, look no further than the enchanting Hong Islands, or Mu Koh Hong, located just off Krabi's coast. This stunning archipelago features a collection of pristine islands, some so small they lack beaches while others boast breathtaking stretches of white sand like Koh Lo and Koh Saga. A visit here is incomplete without embarking on a guided kayaking adventure through these serene waters.
500 steps UP and 500 steps DOWN - legs shaking at the end, sweaty all over - was it worth it? Absolutely. Every bit of the steep step to the top was worth it as soon as I laid my eyes on the view in front of us. It was majestic, it was beautiful, it was all the adjectives you can think of. The climb to the top is challenging, if you are on the heavier side or not much accustomed to physical activities. There is a resting place about halfway where you can take a break and then start off again. As the second part is the more steep and takes a lot of energy. But think it through before you start the climb, we have seen a lot of people who climbed mid way but got too tired to neither continue to the top or return back. But the view from the top is magical. Perfect for nature and adventure lovers.
Shamik L — Google review
The 360° Viewpoint at Koh Hong offers impressive panoramic views once you reach the top — the surrounding islands, turquoise waters, and dramatic cliffs are a photographer’s dream. That said, the climb is quite steep and involves a lot of stairs — definitely not for everyone, especially in the heat. There’s no shade along the way, and the steps can be slippery if it’s rained, so proper footwear is a must. While the view is rewarding, the effort required might not feel entirely worth it for some, especially when the island below already offers plenty of scenic spots. A decent experience overall, but manage your expectations and come prepared.
Javed_mate — Google review
A short 15-minute climb takes you to the top, where you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful 360-degree panoramic view — absolutely worth the effort. It’s also home to the only clean beach in the area that’s truly suitable for swimming and playing. A perfect spot for both a light adventure and a relaxing beach day!
Lemonhao88 — Google review
Gorgeous views to the Andaman See. The stairs are quite steep but if you climbed already to the Tiger Cave, to reach this viewpoint won’t be difficult.
Aga M — Google review
It's a hard, sweaty climb. You need good functional knees and a lot of sunscreen. Drink water and take it slow. At least the stairs are modern and equal. The view is fantastic! It takes about 20-25 minutes at a moderate pace to reach the top. After you go down, i recommend the nearby beach

Huay To Waterfall

National park
Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
National park known for its lush forests, various waterfalls, pools & regional wildlife.
Definitely a must visit if you enjoy a hike and waterfalls! It’s a quiet area with lots to do; they also have a cafe which is a great stop to grab drinks and food! The water was super refreshing, there are fish in the water which is super cool to see and there are spots where you can sit just under the waterfall and have the stream hit your back. Definitely recommend wearing a good pair of trainers, if you plan on climbing to the top waterfall. I made the mistake of wearing crocks but still managed quite easily. I believe there are two entrances.. one which includes a lengthier hike and one which is just the most common access point. On a hot day this is the perfect place to cool off! There is a fee to park your scooter and a fee to enter the national park however I believe it’s good value for money and is expected at most national parks.
Meryem M — Google review
Surely one of the best sightseeing spots in Krabi province. If you wish to climb to the different levels of this waterfall make sure to have the right shoes with you. With only sandals it will be dangerous.
Mike G — Google review
Gorgeous waterfall. Well maintained park and facilities. Walk to waterfalls is easy to traverse and roads/paths well maintained. Worth the trek to the higher levels.
Julz P — Google review
Entry 100baht. Nice national park. Beautiful trees and place to see.. with a bonus, hiking trail to waterfall
FixStop — Google review
I loved this place! Would highly recommend taking sneakers and some shorts because if you wanna hike on top its a bit slippery and also dirty. But its 100% worth it! The view was amazing, we also swimmed there it was super refreshing after the little hike😄 Worth going on top!
Katka J — Google review
It is inside a national park area, and the entrance is 100 baht for adults It is about 500 meters walk, from the entrance to reach the waterfall I visited in a rainy day, so it was wild And the water was not clean These is sharp stairs, and slope on the right side of the waterfall to climb. But you need proper shoes and cannot go with Slippers
Mehrab S — Google review
Beautiful park, super clean and well maintained, away from the crowds. Lovely place. The final climb to the waterfall requires certain level of fitness, and to be honest is not the most beautiful view, the waterfall in the middle is more beautiful in my opinion.
Marga G — Google review
Best waterfall I have been to in Thailand. 3 different levels, great views, top one is harder to get to, but worth it. Bring towel 🙂 Ticked price reasonable 100Baht.

Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

Mentioned on

National park
Nature & Parks
Khao Phanom Bencha National Park is a lush and stunning natural reserve, home to indigenous wildlife, plants, flowers and waterfalls. The park boasts a beautiful waterfall that is easily accessible without the need for an extensive hike. However, it's important to heed the signs as getting lost in the nature trail can happen. The park has friendly staff who take great care of the area, which includes two waterfalls with several levels.
Such a beautiful piece of nature. Beautiful waterfalls and tons of places to swim in the clear, cool water flowing from the mountains. Very much worth the 220 baht I paid for the entry on a motorcycle. The place must be unknown to farangs because I was there in December(high season) and I was the only one. Not often you get a chance to skinny dip in such a cool place, finally got some tan on my pale ass. I didn't get to explore the ~3km trail heading up the mountain as it was closed due to recent rains. I still loved it very much and will come back any chance I get.
Dmitriy O — Google review
A must see - beautiful park. Easy walking paths, temple, can hire a car to wander I heard, can camp - not sure if overnight allowed. Easy walking paths, lush green and peaceful. Ticket price - 100 THB for foreign nationals.
Almas D — Google review
Fantastic hike with a rather dangerous trail. Please go well prepared with hiking boots and leech-proof socks and shoes. It’s quite a challenging hike due to the climb at the start (we did the circle trail) If you plan to just go for the waterfall, it’ll be much easier to go from the other end of the trail (~10mins) . But the hike itself was very enjoyable and very very challenging. May actually go again (TW: Blood ; Note the blood in the media is only from leeches and nothing else)
Water G — Google review
Just stunning, humid but well shaded for the most part, the waterfall walk is fabulous. Good footware is required for the top two sections of the path which goes from path to rock walkway to steps and the basicly a slight boulder climb to the top section. Plenty of little pools to along the way in which to submerge yourself. Lots of wildlife around, a great day out
Chris A — Google review
Amazing escape into nature with trails and hikes leading up to the waterfalls. There are levels to the waterfall and can dip into the pool on every level to cool down.
Tansif R — Google review
Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi, Thailand, is a pristine destination perfect for nature enthusiasts. The park offers well-maintained hiking paths that take you deep into lush rainforest landscapes, surrounded by limestone cliffs and vibrant flora. One of the main highlights is the Huay To Waterfall, a stunning multi-tiered waterfall with crystal-clear pools ideal for a refreshing swim. The park is a paradise for birdwatchers and wildlife lovers, with diverse species to discover. Entrance is reasonably priced at 100 baht for foreigners, making it an affordable escape into nature’s beauty.
Alex — Google review
Had a fabulous time with the waterfall trail. You can spend 3-4 hours just having fun. This is a wonderful place if walks and climbs excite you. You can bathe in a waterfall too. There is a clean toilet and a juice cafe at the entrance. You need to buy tickets.
Saswat M — Google review
A hike there is one of the absolut best thing to do from Ao Nang or Krabi. Get a hiking app like alltrails for details and prepare seriously. The hikes are easy if you got good shoes and if you know how to walk on a mountain path.

The friendly and professional staff ensures a safe and enjoyable visit, set against a stunning natural backdrop. While the park is currently under construction, this does not detract from the overall experience. With four courses of varying difficulty, visitors can enjoy a range of adventure activities in the jungle while being guided by articulate and friendly instructors. Safety measures are well-implemented throughout the park.
This is great place for Adventure activities in the jungle. They have 4 courses of different difficulty level. Each course has a lot of items to cover. The instructors are articulate and very friendly. The safety measures are pretty good.

The courses are amazing. Especially like the Red Zone course. The view is amazing. The service lunch, drinking water and insert repellent. Must wear covered sport shoes to join the course.

A jungle zip line adventure park with various routes of different difficulty. The staff is very friendly and professional. The location is just stunning. The place is under construction so there are some building materials laying around. But this won't effect your day.
Wilko P — Google review
We had such an amazing time at the zipline course! The staff was awesome! There are lockers to secure your stuff and water to keep you hydrated. The photos don't do this place justice. The red course was the most exciting for sure!!!
Katy B — Google review
It was full of emotions , I screamed 😱, cried😅, smiled ☺️ at the same time , I had a wonderful time , I will definitely recommend this place 💯not only because they offer a thousands of activities but also because they care more about safety, whether you like adventure or not it’s a must try, they even offer lunch /and water 💦
Dushime M — Google review
We went to the Krabi one and it was absolutely amazing! You get safety trained and then an instructor takes you round the course. We had a great instructor called Jame who was absolutely fabulous. The views are amazing and the zip lining part was so incredibly thrilling. They also give you a delicious lunch. An amazing day and I highly recommend this to anyone who is near this place. I will definitely go back when I’m back in Thailand.
Bex — Google review
We arrived on a motorbike without prior reservation and were immediately greeted by the staff. After safety training, we went on all four courses. They were all very enjoyable, the black one was the only one physically demanding for us. Because of double safety, I wasn't really scared of the height. We had a lot of fun, well worth the visit!
Vendula V — Google review
Brilliant zipline - felt very safe, me and my husband turned up on the day, did the training course and went around with a guide. Brilliant views. Great courses (really fun broomstick rides etc) from beginner to more adventurous. Definitely worth the drive from Krabi Town.

Suwan Khuha Temple

Mentioned on
20 lists
Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Wat Suwan Khuha, also known as the Cave Temple or The Golden Cave Temple, is a significant Buddhist monastery with historical and archaeological importance. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) visited this site and left engravings inside the cave. The complex includes notable caverns like Tham Yai, Tham Chaeng, Tham Mue, and Tham Kaeo.
A beautiful cave temple with an interesting history and multiple beautiful statues of the Buddha, including a huge gold reclining Buddha. There is a huge main cave area with the reclining Buddha and other icons, and a set of stairs that leads up to a second even more beautiful and interesting cave. There is a small entrance fee. For women, be sure to cover your shoulders and wear something that covers your knees. Men can wear shirts, but not sleeveless shirts. Shoes are allowed inside the cave, but there is one display area that asks you to remove your shoes. Just look for the signs. Photos and videos are allowed, of course. There is a large parking lot here and several small shops and cafes. You can also visit the grounds of the main temple, if you like.
Mark P — Google review
Forget everything from the parking lot to the Temple. Trash. Go inside the cave , pay the 20 Baht entrance fee, and enjoy a fantastic cave. The big sleeping golden Buddha is only part of a great experience. Trained dogs keep the monkeys outside the cave.
Mogens P — Google review
Suwan Khuha Temple is a truly fascinating place to visit. The natural limestone formations inside the cave are stunning and create a serene atmosphere that perfectly complements the spiritual aura of the temple. The highlight is the magnificent **Golden Buddha**, which looks absolutely divine and awe-inspiring amidst the cave’s natural backdrop. It’s definitely a **must-visit spot** if you’re exploring the area — peaceful, photogenic, and rich in history. And don’t forget to spend a few minutes outside the temple watching the **wild monkeys** — they’re playful and entertaining, just be careful with your belongings!
Tarunjyoti T — Google review
Suwan Khuha Temple is such a peaceful and awe-inspiring place to visit. The golden reclining Buddha inside the cave is truly majestic, and the natural setting adds to the serenity. The monkeys around the area are playful but friendly, just be mindful of your belongings!
Bhumibhat M — Google review
A truly beautiful and one-of-a-kind spot! 🌟 The entrance to the Temple Cave is just 20 THB per person (cash only). Make sure to dress appropriately before entering, but don’t worry—if you need a little extra coverage, the kind ladies at the entrance provide red scarves for your shoulders or legs. Walking through the cave is such a unique experience—you’ll definitely remember it long after your visit!
Liz A — Google review
Visited here 2 days ago, after visiting thevJames bond island on the same day. The gold Buddha is so amazing, there was a walk path and stairs which takes you to the very high level in the cave. This location is really unique and worth exploring.
Karen — Google review
Wat Suwan Kuha – Impressive Temple, But Needs Better Maintenance Wat Suwan Kuha is quite an impressive and beautiful temple, especially the large reclining Buddha inside the cave. The natural rock formations and spiritual atmosphere make it a unique place to visit. However, the cleanliness of the area could be improved. Some parts of the temple grounds felt untidy, and it slightly took away from the overall experience. Also, the staff and attendants were not very welcoming — they seemed unfriendly and unapproachable, which was disappointing for such a sacred and tourist-friendly site. This place has great potential and is worth seeing, but a bit more attention to service and cleanliness would make it truly outstanding.
Dollaphon S — Google review
A small sized temple in a cave. 30 minutes is more than enough to take a quick tour around. There are some monkeys outside who are getting overwhelming amounts of food thrown at them by tourists.

Krabi Elephant Sanctuary

Krabi Elephant Sanctuary is a place where elephants are given a peaceful retirement. Unlike other places, this sanctuary limits the number of visitors to ensure a calm environment for the animals. The English-speaking guides and caring caretakers provide an opportunity for visitors to interact with the friendly elephants while also contributing to their care by preparing food and assisting with feeding and cleaning.
This was one of the best experiences ever! Elephants are such lovely creatures. it was amazing to interact with them, feed them and wash them. It's a great place for them and people seem to really care for them. One of the thing I loved the most is that we were just a few, so no crowds. The guide had a very good English and explained a lot of things. People were all very nice. Great communication and organisation. Pick up from Ao Nam Mao Pier, free coffee and biscuits and fresh water. They also offered us some fresh fruit and a traditional rice pudding at the end. Clean showers with gel shower and toilets and they also took a lot of pictures with the elephants and shared them for FREE. Thanks so much for these precious memories. Elephants are not stressed at all everything it's done at their own pace, which is what you want in order to make an ethical and sustainable experience. Best experience!! The elephants were free in nature. The people who ran the place were incredibly kind and spoke excellent English. I can highly recommend this place. It’s the humans who enter their world — not the other way around.
Blue M — Google review
If I could give more than 5 stars I would! An incredible experience and you could tell the guide, photographer and keepers really cared about the elephants. Was a highlight of my trip to Thailand and I couldn’t recommend the Krabi Elephant Sanctuary any more. I did a lot of research before hand as I wanted to ensure the place we were going treat the elephants well. They only have small groups and luckily my partner and I were the only one on the morning excursion so we got some amazing quality time observing the elephants. I enjoyed the feeding and watching them roam around in their natural habitat. Huge thanks to everyone at the Krabi Elephany Sanctuary for such an amazing experience and for giving the two elephants a better life ❤️ Massive respect that it’s a small family business where all the family are working together, it warms my heart
Mia B — Google review
They really care for the elephants here and have a great amount of knowledge. The staff were great with the elephants and the customers. No riding or anything too intrusive for the elephants. I was concerned about bathing them, thinking they don't need human intervention but apparently bugs from the dirt they throw on themselves can burrow and cause infections.
Ty M — Google review
It was a great day for all 4 of us! We were here for around 3 and a half hours. The elephants have good energy and are magnificent to look at up close. It includes feeding them, walking them and even bathing them in a lake.
Kaya A — Google review
We had the best time at the Krabi Elephant Sanctuary, a small family owned sanctuary. It was very relaxing and we got to feed the elephants and bathe them. You can tell them love and treat their elephants with so much love and kindness. Children and adults enjoyed it just as much. The facilities were clean and we ended off the trip with fresh fruits and even mango stick rice!
Adabelle W — Google review
This was such an incredible experience. I booked through email, and the response was extremely quick. Even before getting to the sanctuary, pick up and drop off was handled by them too! When we got there, we were able to feed the elephants (fruit and then supplements) After feeding, we walked with the elephants and got the chance to bathe and clean them!! This was by far the most fun and wholesome experience I’ve had in Thailand, and I recommend this to anyone who loves animals!
Usman O — Google review
Our visit to this family-owned elephant sanctuary was incredible. The care and love they show for the elephants is genuine and inspiring. No rides or gimmicks—just happy elephants living freely in a safe, natural environment. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. A heartwarming, educational experience. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

Wat Tham Ta Pan

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Tham Ta Pan Temple in Phang-Nga is a unique and somewhat eerie Buddhist temple that may not be suitable for everyone. After passing through a dragon-themed tunnel, visitors are confronted with a wooden depiction of Buddhist hell, complete with terrifying statues. However, the temple grounds also feature serene areas with Buddha and Indian god statues, a cave, and lush greenery. Some visitors enjoyed the adventurous experience of navigating through the slippery cave with minimal lighting while others found it informative and culturally enriching.
It looked very quiet upon first arrival. However, venture through the dragons mouth to the caves. You can be blessed by a monk before venturing into the caves.
Ady O — Google review
Magical place. Go through the mouth of dragon and proceed to the cave. If you are lucky to see the monk, he might give you the head light for the cave - don’t forget to make donations for the temple. Be careful with the stairs leading to the top - (slippery and sometimes too steep). Construction at the top is not working.
Lana R — Google review
This place is a little run down but that only added to the charm. There’s a great view over the town from the top of the stupa (be prepared to climb a few steps) and walking through the giant dragon was a highlight, especially getting spit out in Buddhist hell at the end of it! The cave (also at the end of the dragon) was a highlight.
Sarah — Google review
Found this place randomly on Google maps but wow it was such a great experience! So much wonderful and interesting statues, a wonderful cave and a beautiful lookout point on the top.
Enikő T — Google review
Probably the oddest temple I've ever visited... a must visit if you're in the area, but probably not suitable for young children 😅 I just found this place by chance and had an amazing time - very different to the usual temples I've visited, definitely an experience
Harry S — Google review
The place is quite run down and could really use some maintenance, but the surrounding nature made the visit worthwhile. There were lots of dragonflies and butterflies, and we spotted a few birds as well. Peaceful and quiet despite the condition of the site.
Naomi A — Google review
Out of 100's temple's I've seen in Thailand, this one is very unique. Interesting sculpture's scattered all over, decent stair climb to great views of this mountainous region.
Rob N — Google review
The most beautiful caves of all that we have seen in the area! There are many different sculptures. There are few tourists. Admission is free (only for donation.) And please leave them a donation! The monk ties a red thread . When he ties the thread, don't forget to make a wish!

Wat Rat Uppatham (Wat Bang Riang)

Wat Rat Uppatham, also known as Wat Bang Riang, is a stunning temple complex located in southern Thailand. Perched atop Khao Lan Hill in the Thap Put region, this temple is famous for its giant seated Buddha statue and a statue of Kuan Im, the Goddess of Mercy. Visitors are drawn to the temple in hopes of receiving blessings for good luck.
Absolutely beautiful temple complex. A bit tricky to get to, but absolutely worth it. Leave enough time to walk to the Goddess of Mercy and golden Buddha if you can. Cute cafe for refreshments and lots of parking.

Unfortunatly the pics are mixed. You find here 1 temple and up the hill 4 more. Thus one is very nice, too.
Stefanie H — Google review
The most beautiful place! There are 2 spots - wat at the begining of the hill (great boat with temple) and wat on top of the hill. They are close, but not in the same place. If you like to go where is amazing view you should take left road (when you are staying in front of first wat with boat).
Dasha L — Google review
Wat Bang Rieng Temple, is one of the most beautiful temple complexes in southern Thailand. After a winding ascent along a narrow mountain road you will be greeted by long stairwell adorned with serpents (Named Naga) which make up both sides of the walk way leading to the temple. The main temple building of Chedi Rat Uppatham is positioned at a height of over 100 meters. Sitting below there is a statue of a golden Buddha with snakes and a statue of the goddess of mercy Guanyin (Guan Yin), complete with it's own meditation room where the monks come to pay respect and meditate. The construction of the complex began at the behest of the King of Thailand, Rama 9 in 1986. The courtyard of this temple is decorated in traditional Thai style, and here you can see the various mythical creatures of the three-headed elephant Erawan, yakshas and the Garuda bird. From the courtyard you can enter Chedi, where the Buddha’s relics are located. Chedi is located on a high hill, so there opens a great view of the sitting Buddha statue and the Guanin statue against the background of the surrounding mountains and banana plantations. The inside is elaborately decorated with historical and culturally significant artwork central to the Buddhist religion. This temple is truly something to behold providing diverse architecture, numerous points of interest and amazing views. Well worth the visit. Remember to show respect and wear shirts that cover the shoulders and preferably longer shorts that come to knee length. If you don't have any of this with you then the temple has some pyjama style pants you can slip on.

Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Khao Sok National Park, located in Surat Thani province, is a vast expanse of ancient rainforest and limestone cliffs. Visitors can spend their time hiking, exploring caves, and searching for wildlife. The park's Cheow Larn Lake offers surreal experiences with its mist-shrouded limestone formations and dense jungle surroundings. The area is home to diverse flora and fauna including monkeys, colorful birds, tigers, and unique plant species.
There are a handful of must-see places in Thailand, this is one, without a doubt. Doesn't matter if it's a day trip or overnight on the floating bungalows, do not miss this. A damn built in the 80s that basically flooded a whole region, so an artificial, giant lake in a biome that would normally not have one. Witness man playing God. Caves, jungle walks/hikes, wildlife, lush tropical forest and a cool story of how it all came to be. Words are hard to describe the enormity of this park and the awe you feel navigating it.

I would definitely recommend a day trip to this park, with its huge lake, when you are visiting the Khao Lok area. We had a guided day tour (which I would recommend to see everything) and it was a memorable and enjoyable trip. We stopped at the Three Sisters limestone formations for some photos, and cruised around the lake. We stopped at one of the numerous and unique floating hotels here for lunch, and did some swimming and kayaking. Definitely add it to your list of “must dos” when you are visiting Khao Lok.

One of the highlights of our stay in the area, definitely worth booking a trip to see Khao Sok and Cheow Lan Lake. Fantastic scenery! It’s easy to book a private longtail boat on GetYourGuide. We had a hire car and drove to the park from Khao Lak.

Definitely a must-visit when in Thailand! 🇹🇭✅ My husband and I rented a private boat for 3 hours, including a swimming stop for an hour, and we truly enjoyed the trip. The beauty of Mother Nature gave us goosebumps — absolutely breathtaking! 😍✨

Khao Sok National Park is an absolutely stunning place — one of the most beautiful natural spots in Thailand. The scenery is breathtaking, with dramatic limestone cliffs, lush jungle, and a peaceful lake. There are plenty of activities like canoeing, hiking, and boat tours that let you truly enjoy the nature. Everything feels calm and magical. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and adventure!

I would definitely recommend doing a 2 day 1 night tour as you get to see loads of the national parks sights and you get to wake up on the lake which in my case was spectacular. However be prepared for very basic overnight conditions but it made no difference to us.

A beautiful park, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're in Khao Sok!! Although everyone speaks about the lake tours as if this is the only activity in Khao Sok, we found this amazing park full of beautiful scenery of many types - a wild jungle, divine waterfalls & stunning rivers. Entrance fee is 200 baht per person, and you can either enter on your own and walk until a limited point (about 6km back & forth) or you can take a guide and walk further. If you do decide to take a guide, make sure to book them in advance. We decided to walk on our own, so we have more privacy, and it took us about 3 hours long, including some stops on the way, and dipping in the amazing Wing Hin waterfall. To conclude, if you're looking for a more unique and custom made experience in Khao Sok, this is definitely a most visit.

While I loved the park and everything about it, I'd like to bring to attention this boatman guy/ guide, and request all to avoid him to have a stress free trip. This guy speaks no English, and if he does, refuses to talk- as a guide, that is one of the major things one should do. He smoked weed/ some narcotic, made us pay for kayaking (which we had already paid for to our tour operator) - since it was only a 100Baht per person, the three of us who had booked the boat privately paid again because this guy refused to communicate. At the caves, he walked on at his own pace, shining the light randomly, and made to exit within 5 minutes. Thankfully we latched onto another group who had an English speaking guide to make sense of the wonders of the cave. We managed to click a whipping scorpion and a cricket with that group- a stark difference. After leaving the cave, he stopped in the middle of the water to light another joint, at which point we thought it a good idea to fly our professional camera drone for some photography. As soon as our drone gained some height, the boatman moved the boat forward, when we shouted at him with sign language to stop the boat. While landing the drone, since the boat had moved, the drone fell into the water, just short distance from where the boatman sat. Had he not been stoned enough, he could have moved his hand and caught the drone. The drone fell into the water, the boatman looked at the drone, looked at us, and shrugged his shoulders as if to say, your problem. The complain I wish to raise, is that this guy was so stoned, that if a human would have fallen off, he would simply have let the person drown, despite wearing a life jacket and knowing how to swim. Since we had to leave to catch our connecting flight from Phuket to Chiang Mai, we didn't have time to officially complain. In case anyone reads this, please ensure to avoid this guide. For your own well being.

True natural beauty unfolds across the vast Cheow Lan Lake and dramatic limestone landscapes above Rajjaprabha Dam. With deep emerald waters, floating raft accommodation, and unmatched sunrise views, it’s easy to see why it’s called “Guilin of Thailand.” Visitors can enjoy boat tours, kayaking, guided cave treks, or just relax aboard a floating lodge in serene surroundings. Accommodation ranges from basic floats to nicer raft houses—cheap, charming, and close to nature. Open daily 08:00–18:00. Located in Ban Ta Khun District, Surat Thani Province, the site is easily reachable via Highway 401 or chartered boats from nearby piers. A top highlight of Khao Sok National Park and a must-see for travelers craving breathtaking scenery and peaceful escapes.

Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine, also known as San Lak Muang, is a well-maintained symbol of the city located in the heart of Surat Thani. The shrine is made entirely from the wood of the Golden Shower Tree and is beautifully lit up at night, resembling a castle from a Disney movie. It's open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and visitors can purchase flowers and incense sticks at the entrance.
Really cool. Free entrance. There were even people running around it while others were offering flowers and coloured stripes to the gods. A lovely place.

“Surat Thani Pillar Shrine: A Hidden Gem of Ancient Energy” The Surat Thani Pillar Shrine is a truly mesmerizing place. The moment you step inside, you can feel a unique energy flowing through the building—almost as if the very ethers are being pulled through its walls. This shrine holds an air of ancient wisdom, a quiet power that connects you to the deep history of the region. It’s not just beautiful; it’s a spiritual experience that invites reflection and awe. A must-visit for anyone seeking a connection to ancient knowledge and the tranquil energy of the past. 🛕

The Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine is a true gem in the city of Surat Thani and a place that every visitor should definitely experience. As soon as you enter the shrine, you will be amazed by the impressive architecture and tranquil atmosphere. The intricately designed statues and the loving attention to detail reflect the rich culture and tradition of Thailand. The central pillar, which is considered a symbol of the city, is particularly impressive. It is not only a spiritual place for the locals, but also a fascinating photo opportunity for tourists. You immediately feel the peaceful energy that surrounds this place and it is easy to get caught up in the moment. Many people come here to pay their respects and ask for luck for their families and friends. The location of the shrine is also excellent. Surrounded by lush greenery and close to several other important attractions, it is perfect for a relaxing stroll. Access to this sacred place is easy and the surrounding area is clean and well maintained. Overall, I highly recommend the Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine. Whether you are looking for spirituality, a cultural experience or just a peaceful place, this shrine offers all that and more. An absolute must for any Surat Thani visitor!

Nice little shrine to walk through if you’re passing by, but it’s not worth travelling for otherwise. The place is lit up beautifully at night although they close it so you can’t get close by. In daytime it’s nice to sit by for a short while and just relax as it’s very quiet without many visitors.

Wat Suan Mokkh Phalaram is a serene Theravada Buddhist monastery situated in a peaceful forest environment. It provides opportunities for meditation retreats and learning about dhamma amidst the beautiful scenery of huge trees, rock formations, and sand spaces. Visitors can purchase books and souvenirs related to dhamma from the building near the entrance gate. The temple is surrounded by a stunning park but unfortunately lies close to a busy highway that connects Bangkok to the south.
Very friendly place! Calm and peaceful, recommend. Centre of local Buddhist. I really was exiting to visit this temple or centre, beside, road excellent and atmosphere lovely. Spend weekend here, don’t hesitate. Check my photos !

Located in a nicely kept park, this is not a buddhistic temple, but an ecumenic ( multi-religious ) center of spiritual belief. Both the architecture -with one building resembling the shape of a ship- as well as the wall paintings are very remarkable and well worth a visit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely beautiful spot! Ko Tao Resort – Paradise Zone is a hidden gem up on the hillside with incredible panoramic sea views. The room was clean, spacious, and had a private balcony that made it feel like our own little piece of paradise. Super peaceful and surrounded by nature. Even though it’s up on the hill, it only takes about 3–5 minutes to walk down to the beach — easy access but far enough to enjoy some quiet away from the crowds. The pool also has amazing views and is a great place to relax. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming. Perfect for couples or anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Koh Tao. Would definitely stay again😍💞

A forest temple, Wat Suan Mokkhabalarama was founded by Buddhadasa Bikkhu in 1932. The grounds are massive and cover 120 acres of space, mostly jungle the way it was when originally founded. Suan Mokkh temple is on the west side of the highway, and is sometimes called the "Thai side" of Wat Suan Mokkh. Anyone can go there to walk around, or register to stay in either the male or female dorm there overnight without charge. The sleeping area is concrete and you'll get a pillow and a mosquito net. This is an ideal temple for self-guided meditation retreats. I've spent time here doing so. If you're not going to stay overnight, you might try walking meditation on the forest paths. There are dogs around some of the monk kutis which are not friendly. Across the highway on the east side of it is the Suan Mokkh International Dhamma Hermitage - meditation center. This is where the 10-day retreats are held each month for foreigners (1st through 10th of the month), and for Thais the 11th through the 20th of each month. Sometimes over 100 people join the retreat. This is a silent retreat. Very little talking can be done during the 10 days. This is not for everyone. Meals are provided and instruction in English is provided. You should already be able to meditate for an hour or so at a time, and just know that most of the day will be spent in meditation, mindfulness, working, walking, and contemplating the present moment as much as possible. No phones or other electronics. A donation is suggested. One of the best meditation temples in Thailand. Highly recommended for meditators looking to take it to the next level. If you have any questions, you can contact me through the Jhana8 website. With metta... Vern

Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya is a stunning temple that showcases the rich heritage of the Srivijaya period. Nestled in Surat Thani, this ornate site features an impressive five-tiered chedi at its center, believed to house relics of the Buddha. Surrounding this central stupa are cloisters adorned with serene sitting Buddhas, creating a tranquil atmosphere perfect for reflection and worship.

A must visit if you are interested in history, this is an amazing for me as I am particularly interested in Srivijaya period and I wish to know more about the history during that period of time. This nice Buddhist also house a school in a more traditional style. There is a the main hall (Viharn) with nice style of Buddha statues not seen in other places. The stupa /Chedi is so beautiful, which is believed to house the Buddha relics. There is a huge car park in the front area. Must check out the museum if you are interested to see items from prehistoric to 6th 7th 8th etc century. The museum is part of the National Museum in Bangkok, which I hope to visit as we have been told many original artifacts are housed in the National Museum. Enjoy your visit. The staff in the museum was so nice to introduce us to the history.

Was here in 2023. Here you can hire a local boat for 1200 THB to take you out to the bay to spot the pink dolphins. The best time go is in the morning, I came at 9am from Donsak. There were 3 of them swimming in tandem. น่ารักนา! Even if you do not spot any dolphins the ride out to the bay of Khanom is beautiful. The view is raw and untouched by tourism.

Quiet and Serene Beach. Soft sand. Entrance is narrow fit for one car one way. Concrete path with overgrown bushes. There is no sign that lead to the beach. Just follow Google Map after reaching end of village turn left. Good spot for fishing 🎣 at the end of the beach. Difficult trail lead to beautiful view.
Kenny C — Google review
The idea was to see the dolphins, we were totally to be there for 7-8 in the morning but got there for 9:30 waited a bit an a fishing boat came, it was 1000Bhat and they gave us life vest for the journey, it was a bit of a bumpie ride and we did get a little bit splashed but the views were AMAZING! It was a windy day so no surprise there we didn't see many dolphins however it was such a beautiful boat ride and the fisherman also took us to see the Pancake rocks ( only other place in the world to see it is New Zealand) it was worth it, BTW we went to the German restaurant straight after that was lovely as well, well worth it in total it took nearly 2 hours

We have been here with a guided tour in 3 small islands and 1 snorkeling spot and has been an amazing experience! The National Marine Park is pristine and you can visit from beautiful beaches to a breathtaking view points. We have managed to enjoy some relaxing time and to prove our self on really tough trails to reach the viewing points, but has been worth it! We have been so lucky to find monkeys with babies during one of thr trail and to see some huge and colored fishes in the snorkeling point. The emerald lagoon is amazing aswell! If you are here around you cannot miss this.

The view was absolutely breathtaking, a solid 10/10. But happy cardio to climb in 500 M. 🤪 I’m so grateful to have had the chance to experience such beauty in my lifetime. It really highlights how important it is to have a climbing partner who can encourage you along the way. 💗

Wide variety of activities to do from hiking to scenic viewpoints, swimming, snorkeling, hanging out at the beach, and watching wild life. Had a good experience traveling to this island from Koh samui via Grand Sea discovery.
David T — Google review
Wonderful trip, we got everything we needed, they took great care of us, Mr. Thai was very funny and kind, and his jokes made the whole day even better. The hike to the viewpoint took 20–40 minutes depending on experience and fitness level. A must-do is kayaking (if you don’t go kayaking, you’ll end up waiting on a crowded beach). We booked it through GetYourGuide.
Barbora Č — Google review
My honest review would be that I was not expecting this tour to be as exhausting as it was. I appreciate the operator and the tour guides, and the views are nice. However, the travel time from the pier to the first island is quite long, which already drains my energy. Then, the nature trail to the viewpoint is another exhausting one. The tour guides can mention in advance that if they are interested, they can hike. I cannot recommend this tour to those who are weak in endurance. Plus, I think the trail is not just 500 meters long. So, I decided to go down after the next stop. There is less time at the beach to explore and swim. The lunch provided is so-so. The kayaking was also too much with the distance. It was quite exhausting, and we were not informed that it would be very far, plus the waves were strong. If you can find another island tour aside from this, I recommend choosing that instead.

The Smiling Seahorse is a popular choice for liveaboard diving trips in Thailand. Guests have raved about the unique and spectacular dive experiences, particularly enjoying the sunset and black water dives. The boat itself is praised for its comfortable, modern cabins, spacious dive deck, and large social areas.
This is the third time for my partner and first for me in this liveaboard and I can see why she wanted to return. Everything is thought through looking for their guests to have the best possible pleasant, easy and enjoyable vacation in the middle of the sea. The whole staff is very friendly and ready to help, the food is amazing and the equipment and boat are well maintained. Zero complaints!

My first live aboard trip and it was fantastic! The boat is comfortable, there is a much appreciated photo room and the food was good. I am especially grateful for the vegetarian choices! Franck and the team put a lot of thought into the itinerary and for being back to Myanmar after 3 years of covid pause, it was really exciting. The spontaneous trips to land (beach and temple landing) was a great surprise and the guests loved it. The ship crew consisted of the friendliest and most attentive people I’ve met in a long time. They are a very big part of making the trip exceptional! The only thing which did not live up to the expectations was our Dive Guide. Sadly the only person on the boat, who had a hard time returning a smile and who wasn’t very engaging in the dives. That opinion was shared by his whole group and sadly took away joy from the experience. There was also a questionable decision in taking one claustrophobic diver (who mentioned his concerns beforehand) into an actual very narrow cave. Other than that a fantastic trip I can recommend to anyone!

The Smiling Seahorse Review My wife and I just spend an amazing week living aboard The Smiling Seahorse which took us through the many renown diving spots Thailand has to offer. The past 7 days, we sailed the Andaman Sea, stopping at busy Richelieu Rock by the Mu Ko Surin National Park and exploring the wonders of Ko Tachai and Ko Bon. We were amazed at the beauty of Breakfast Bend (3 trees), the imposing Elephant Rock (Hin Pusa) and Shark Fin Reef (Hin Phae) dive sites off the coast of Mu Ko Similan National Park. We were greeted by superb Oceanic Mantas at Red Rock (Hin Daeng), Purple Rock (Hin Muang) right in the Strait of Malacca and gasped at the grandeur of Cathedral (Koh Haa Yao). Last but not least, Ko Li Pe delivered schools of Fusiliers, Trevalis and Small Tooth Emperors reigning over the rest of the innumerable schools of fishes at Stonehenge and 8 Miles Rock (Hin Paad Mile). The crew on board was the friendliest and always helpful, accommodating my wife’s (many) food allergies with kindness. Speaking of the food, the chefs on board are incredible and you are in for a treat after each dives (my favorite being the post-morning dive breakfast). Our cabin (number 1) was spacious with a large bed and ample space to organize and store our luggages away. The bathroom was clean and perfect for a week on board. The entire dive masters crew was always professional, taking the time to go over the dive plan, answering any concerns and helping locate and identify the many hidden wonders discovered during each dive. We highly recommend signing up for the black water dive if this is something you have never done as Franck (the owner) is an amazing photograph and will lead you through a new way to discover this part of the animal kingdom. Kudos to Franck and his team for organizing everything in a seamless fashion getting on and off the boat and everything in between. Thank you for having us, we’re looking forward to discovering Burma in a future adventure!

Best liveaboard trip I had ever since. The team is so energetic and hospitable. From the very start to the end of the Liveaboard trip they were consistently hardworking to offer the best experience of the dive. We had booked for the 10 day trip to the Mergui Archipelago (Burma). The office team had helped us greatly to clear all our documentation and immigration and visa formalities. The Hosts and dive team, the dive guides, especially to mention about the energetic Mr. James, Mr. Frank, Our Dive team leader and Guide Sophie and Mitsy, and Mr. Simon. Their energetic relentless efforts and made our trip a success and enjoyable also memorable. Also to mention the tiring and toiling efforts and cooperation of the Boat captain and the crew of M.V. Smiling Seahorse who manned and well maintained the boat always ready for action. As noteworthy point was that they had organised few classrooms for enhancing and updating our knowledge on the manta rays, which was very nicely delivered by the Thai manta expert, Ms. Jamie. We especially thank you for the sweet memories and bondings, we definitely be back again whenever possible. Many thanks indeed, and all the best for their future endeavours. P. S. - I was very excited also to attend the engine room tour of the boat. 😊

Frank the owner of the boat, a tall, French, fish loving guide, friend, and entertainer who walks around like the Thai fishermen wearing local clothes and a winter hat to keep the wind out of his ears, along with the crew gave a trip of a lifetime. Frank jumps in the water each day along with the divers purely because he loves diving and taking AMAZING pictures. He sat and talked to me about remedial camera skills, settings, and technique to take the best pictures even though his level of photographing is light years beyond what I’m doing. He is genuine, kind, insightful, and informative. You can tell that Frank loves being on the boat being with the divers, making friends and because of that you get treated like his friend from the food he plans like the barbecue night with massive ribs, chicken, and potatoes and opening some rum for everyone to enjoy (at no cost) as the music plays and people let their hair down. Then the final meal was mouth-watering steak, with pasta, and delicious veggies in a cream sauce. When you are treated like the owners good friend on the boat, you get the best of everything. Taking a trip on the Smiling Seahorse to me is like feeling that I should have had to pay more for the trip that I actually did. I love to get the best deal, even if that means having to put up with some not so nice things. This trip I feel like I got so much more than what I paid for. I cannot say enough about this trip. I’m sad it had to end and now any other live-aboard I go on in the future will have a very, very high bar. Thanks Frank and the team!

Phra Tamnak Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak

Mentioned on

Sights & Landmarks
Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak Shrine is the biggest among several shrines constructed by a Thai prince. It serves as a place of homage to the 'Father of Thai Royal Navy', Prince Chumphon, who passed away at Hat Sai Ri. The shrine is situated near a navy ship which tourists can visit and there is also an exhibit showcasing the biography of the prince. Moreover, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the beach's cool breeze.
Krom Luang Chumphon is a well-known and respected Royal pricee from King Rama 5. The sailers do pray to him prior the sailing. He is the sea/ ocean protector for Thai fishermen. The place is nice, clean and not far from the city center. It is about 30 mins by car.

Busy place. No English signage to explain. Firecracker is an experience for the kids to see.

Explore a fascinating temple complex in Chumphon, right by the beach. This temple pays tribute to the Royal Thai Navy, and you can even step aboard a retired gunboat! Just be aware of one-way streets in the area if you're driving or riding a motorbike.

A lot of people visited this place to make merit. The place is stunning. You can offer flowers or fresh fruits to the Shrine. You can also walk along the beachside road. They also have toilets, souvenir shops, coffee shop stall and picturesque views.

Being that my wife is ex army - her mother & father ex army and grandfather also so when we tripped through Chumpon this apparently was a place we had to stop. The shrine is dedicated to Admiral Phrachao Boromwongse, His Royal Highness Prince Aphakorn Kiatwong Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak", the son of King Rama V "Chulalongkorn" and "Chao Chom Mode", the mother. His former name was "Prince Aphakorn Kiatwong". The story here is that he is credited with being instrumental in the formation of a formal Navy for the Kingdom ( as best I understand it anyway 😀) New navy recruits, fishermen or pretty much any persons involved in any branch of maritime related duties or profession. It is believed that coming to the shrine for worship provides protection from the "wilds" of the sea. When we were here (sunday), the place was jammed. With all of the above said, the shrine is located on a small hill overlooking the bay surrounded by a small rampart with cannons. Further, there is a navel vessel On display that looked WW2ish, but I could be wrong. In general, it was enjoyable. We gave our respects with incense and a red rose. Looking around at those in attendance, I couldn't help but feel the deep respect and thoughtful prayer I was sure was going on. Loads of parking, beautiful views, and some really nice culture to take in. Highly recommend.

Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak Shrine (พระตำหนักกรมหลวงชุมพรเขตอุดมศักดิ์) is a revered landmark in Thailand, dedicated to Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, the father of the Royal Thai Navy. Located in Chumphon, this shrine holds cultural and historical significance. It is both a tribute to the Prince's contributions to the navy and a place of spiritual importance where locals and visitors come to pay respect and make merit. Visitors to the shrine find beautiful ocean views and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The shrine itself is adorned with statues and naval memorabilia, reflecting the Prince's legacy. It is also a popular spot for those seeking blessings, particularly for safe travels and good fortune.

I had a wonderful experience at View Seafood Resort! The resort's minimal style by the sea was absolutely delightful. The beach was stunning, with shades of blue water that were breathtakingly beautiful. The accommodation was comfortable, and the seafood served at the resort was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing seaside getaway.

We stayed here overnight. The reception lady accommodate and allow us to check in early. Our room cost 1000 baht. We have a nice view to the beach and the room is spacious. They have other rooms as well but the one we stayed is N2. Wishing this place keeps its service and price reasonable. Thank you very much.

I recently visited this View seafood restaurant, just near hotel i stayed in Tung Wua Laen Beach. The atmosphere was nice, very local, you can hear beach wave. We ordered three crispy spicy salad, stir fried crab meat with curry powder, boiled cockles, stir fried Liang leaves with egg, we really love it, real southern food taste, and of course we would come back again!

Food was delicious. Portions are rather small but this is forgotten once you taste the lovely fresh crab meat. Most Thai dishes are prepared to accommodate a Western public (not as spicy).

Koh Talu Island Resort

Islands
After reading reviews I was doubting about visiting this place… but absolutely worthwhile to visit. Great Island with a fantastic white beach and and great snorkeling opportunities right next to the beach. Perfect thai food, people are proud on what they cook! Staff is very friendly. People who really look for an luxury environment should not go here: the rooms are perfectly fine, but need some refurbishment, same like the pool and other things on the island. But if you can look past these flaws, you will have a great stay! No doubt about it!

Are you looking for a relaxing place with all the comforts? Koh Talu is the place for you. Everything was perfect. Very helpful, kind and smiling staff. The girls at the reception are lovely and helped me in different situations. The manager, mister Thu, makes you feel at home. I completed the open water diver course. The people at the restaurant are very sociable. I spent some wonderful moments at sea with the guys from the dive center, mister Boy and Egg. The food is very good. The bungalows is simple and very comfortable. There are many activities ideal for 3 days: snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, sup, turtle, trekking in the jungle to see the sunrise etc etc Thank you so much See you soon Koh Talu

Staying here at Koh Talu was one of the best experiences/ trips I have ever done. I stayed here 3 nights and I can’t wait to come back again. I went snorkeling many times, I went fishing, I went kayaking, i hiked to a viewpoint , I relaxed in the beautiful beach. I went octopus fishing and caught 4 octopus and they made sashimi for us. Also they have a spot for sea turtle conservation. I fed the turtles fish. It was really cool. The food everyday was incredible, 3 times per day. There was so much food, fruit, deserts. All the workers are friendly and took good care of us. The room was nice and cozy. The AC was good. Everything was clean. Mr. Tu took care of everything on the island and made sure the stay was incredible. Honestly this is probably my favorite spot in Thailand now

Not sure what scam they are running but I hope this review gets managements attention We were a family of 9 that was looking forward to visit the island and I was looking forward to do an honest Google and Youtube review. However the trip ende before even starting because of their dishonest pricing and conflicting information. On their website all prices and information are clearly stated. On the website it also says: "Exclusive Privilege for Koh Talu On Shore Guests. Enjoy an easy day trip to Koh Talu — just 20 steps from the hotel to our private pier and a 20-minute boat ride — at a special price of only 1,200 THB (regular price 1,600 THB) for guests booking through Direct Booking only." I reached out to their sales office by e-mail to make a reservation for hotel and daytour and received this reply: "The One Day Trip price to Koh Talu that you saw is indeed a special rate, but it is only available when booking directly through our website. If you are interested, you may proceed to book your room along with the day trip activity directly on our website. " So as instructed I followed the information and downloaded Line and sent a reservation request online. They did anwser fast but wrote: "Sorry, what you see is an old promotion and the price is not available during long holidays." I am sorry to say that these conditions were nowhere stated on their website and as the mistake is apparently on their side they should honor it. Being 9 adults a 400thb difference still ends up to be quite much. Due to all this, we decided to cancel everything and spend our money somewhere else as I do not believe this was properly managed by the resort.

Took a day trip, arranged by the resort. The service was good and the island was beautiful. It’s a good day trip from Hua Hin for anyone who wants an island adventure. The speed board was smooth and not crowded. The buffet lunch was good and had good selection. The turtle sanctuary was quite interesting and had many turtles to see. Was please to see some newborn turtles about to be released. It’s a good conservation effort and well worth a visit.

We booked a full package that included a 2.5-hour ride each way from our hotel in Hua Hin, a ferry, two dives, lunch, and a beautiful beach stop. The total cost for our family of five (3 adults and 2 kids) was 10,800 THB. We left the hotel at 7:00 AM and returned at 6:00 PM – a full, well-organized day that was absolutely worth it!

Firstly you should come early in the morning so you can enjoy the silence and spirit of that stunning tempel. There is a big golden Buddha next to the car park , and after that take a short walk up to the main temple. It looks amazing from the outside, but make sure to go up to the second floor as well where you will find some jaw-dropping panoramic views, with great photo opportunities.

Ao Manao beach

Ao Manao beach is a stunning location in Thailand that often escapes the attention of tourists. Despite this, it undoubtedly ranks as one of the country's most picturesque beaches. The wide expanse of clean sand and shallow waters make for a beautiful setting to relax and take in the natural beauty around you. However, visitors should be aware that the beach closes at 6 pm, so it's important to plan accordingly to ensure you have ample time to enjoy everything it has to offer.
What's not to LOVE! After 4 months of travelling through Indonesia Malaysia & Thailand, this is one of the best beaches we have come across; definitely ranked in our top five matching the Gili Islands. Access 6am to 6pm as Military owed Air base. Toilets/showers, eateries, chairs/shade. Do tend to lose the sun about 4pm during February which then brings locals down to the area... beautifully gorgeous, as are the sunrises. Safe access to sandy warm waters.
Skram J — Google review
Big disappointment. Great for pictures and for eating cheap. Windy, hard sand, water not inviting at all. You don't see 1 person in the water, not to say swimming. The mountains around are beautiful. And the city itself, dead. Which l felt very bad for the locals. Tons of places to eat and tons of places to stay ( search on your own before booking anywhere) but all empty. The fisherman's village( very north of the bay) is the best place to stay. Stunning view, very charming, not windy and the restaurant Lung Yai Pu Pen has amazing seafood, ocean front close to the nature reserve. Was our spot for 1 week, last one of the year. Other than that...will not come back.

Very nice beach with clear waters and small ripples. The views are amazing and the area is relatively clean. You can rent a chair with table and it’s shaded well 20b. They also sell food, drinks and have toys you can rent like small/large inner tube floats 20b/50b. Jet ski rental and banana boat ride. Food and drinks are reasonably priced for the beach. Beautiful beach. Perfect pit stop if you're driving down the gulf of Thailand. Came midweek and it was so peaceful and quiet. On the whole stretch, only saw about 5 other visitors. Note the beach is on a military site so you have to pass a checkpoint, but the guards were very friendly. Opens 6am to 6pm. Lots of food and drink stalls line the beach. If you come from the Prachuap Khiri Khan town side, you'll get to drive across a runway, which is very cool.

Military Bases & Facilities
Royal Thai Air Force Corps, Wing 5 is home to Ao Manao, also known as Lime Bay. To access the beach, visitors must enter through the base entrance and register with the military. The process involves providing personal details such as name, nationality, passport number, and entry/exit times. However, there seems to be little verification of this information. The area is kept clean by the military presence.
Beautiful beach and nature surrounding which once used to be the historical base of world war II. And the atmosphere on those day are still remained. We are appreciated to be there. Thanks with regards to Air force Division 5 for open to public with a friendly smile of soldiers, they are warm and thoughtful.

Khao Chong Krachok

Mentioned on

Mountain peak
Nature & Parks
Khao Chong Krachok is a monastery located on a hill, accessible by climbing nearly 400 steps. The ascent offers stunning views of the coastline from the top. However, visitors should be cautious of the mischievous and disease-carrying monkeys that inhabit the area. Despite this, the friendly monks maintain cleanliness by sweeping the stairs daily. The temple itself is monkey-free due to protective measures in place.
This was a really beautiful viewpoint in Prachuap. Great view from over the white beach and the sea. To get there is a bit of a challenge. It's a quite steep hike upstairs while avoiding monkeys in the meantime. Downstairs are sticks available for if the monkeys will bother you, but I went without and it wasn't really a problem.

I had the opportunity to visit this Temple in Prachuap Khiri Khan and can say that it was an unforgettable experience. Climbing the 396 steps was a bit of a challenge, but the view that awaits you at the top makes every effort worth it. The view of the surrounding landscape and the sea is breathtaking and ideal for photos. I found the quiet atmosphere particularly pleasant. The monkeys that live on the way to the temple complex were peaceful and not at all intrusive - they seem to be used to visitors and are not disturbed. This adds to the relaxed mood of the place. The temple itself is also very beautifully designed and invites you to linger. It is a perfect place to experience the culture of Thailand while enjoying nature. I can recommend a visit to Wat Ao Noi to anyone who is looking for both variety and a wonderful view. A real insider tip in Prachuap Khiri Khan!
Matt E — Google review
Great view but make sure to pick a walking stick from the entrance to walk up along with as there are lots of monkeys. When our little girl tried to drink some water, the monkeys tried to attack and we didn't have any stick to scare them away so we didn't go till the top but it's a great view from view point 1,2 and 3.
Lelles T — Google review
Very worthwhile. World class. Rain or shine this is a must see. Do not bring plastic bags. If you are scared they have a big stick you can tap the ground with to tell the monkey no.
Dornia — Google review
Worth the climb up 300+ stairs - the views are fantastic. At the bottom of the stairs, they have bamboo sticks for you to carry to keep the monkeys from jumping on you. It seems just carrying the stick (and keeping all food and water bottles zipped in your pack) is enough to keep them away. When you get to the top of the stairs, there's a closed gate, but don't turn back - it's unlocked. Go through the gate and enjoy views of two bays, the city of Prachuap, and the mountains separating Thailand and Burma. Explore around a bit - there are two other gates, one leading to a small cave, and the other leading to another view point, accessed by climbing down a steep metal ladder. Overall it's worth the effort to climb up here, but as for the temple itself, it's small and not so ornate. Lots of monkey poop on the stairs as well.
John K — Google review
Don't do what I did and hike this route in the middle of the day. It was like a suana. Short 10mins hike, the monkeys are pretty tame. Bring tapping stick provided at the bottom of the path to ward off unwanted attentions. The view up the top is majestic. Definitely worth the hike. Tip there is 3 different paths up to the top. Enjoy.
Nisit P — Google review
Beautiful views from the top. Very friendly monk too. They keep the stairs clean by sweeping each day. The monkeys are great, but aren't afraid of humans in the slightest. You'll have to walk around them as you go to the stairs. The temple itself doesn't have any monkeys, which are kept out with a wire door and electric fences. To find the Chong Krachop view, you have to go out the door at the North side, down the path, and then down the ladder. Not for those who are scared of heights.
Anthony H — Google review
We went around 4pm and made sure to take a stick with us (lots available at the entrance). Monkeys were calm and didn’t bother us. Easy walk up the steps and nice views at the top. Worth the effort.

Kui Buri National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Kui Buri National Park is a verdant forest with scenic driving tours that offer glimpses of Asian elephants and other wildlife. I had an enjoyable journey there with a close friend, where we encountered wild bulls and Thai elephants residing near local homes and pineapple farms. The fresh air was invigorating, and camping amidst the greenery was an unforgettable experience.
We stayed at Vana Varin, and the receptionist there helped us find the taxi driver that drove us to the national park and waited about 3 hours for us, while we took the Safari, and drove us back to the hotel, except we asked him to recommend a restaurant for him to leave us at instead.. this service cost baht 2600. Tickets to enter the national park were baht 200 p/person, and we had to pay an additional baht 850 for one of their vehicles with driver, plus a guide. We also hired a pair of binoculars for baht 50. This was a memorable experience, as we sat in the back of an open vehicle and drove through vast amounts of forest looking for elephants.. apparently there are around 300 elephants in the national park. We were so lucky to see 11 elephants, and they are roaming 100% freely.. we were not even permitted to stand downwind from the elephants and had to keep our distance. The setting was stunning. Our guide was friendly.

We did the wild elephant watching in Kui Buri National Park and it was incredible! We came here to the enterace first for information then headed to the elephant watching area to buy tickets. Don't fall for the tours if you're staying in Hua Hin, they're over priced. We hired a car between 3 of us which was 1500 baht, then 200 baht per person for park enterance, and 850 baht for the truck, driver and guide between us. Our guide and driver were great and we were lucky enough to see about 20 wild elephant as well as other animals!

Excellent experience and a highlight of our Thailand trip. We had our own car which made getting to the park much easier and cheaper than a private tour. We arrived at 2pm and set off into the park straight away. After a short trip we were guided to a group of 25+ Elephants. Couldn't recommend this highly enough.
Mark C — Google review
Visited October 23, 2025: Wow. This was an INCREDIBLE National park! We booked a private tour through Viator with Ken Diamond Tour Hua Hin (about $140/person for park entry, private 4x4, dinner, English speaking guide, and transportation to and from Hua Hin). Our guide accompanied us on the drive through the park so we could ask questions in English. Because it was just us, we were able to take our time at every stop we made. I would have not enjoyed this experience as much in a shared group 4x4. Because we booked a tour with transport, I can’t speak for the process of getting your tickets at the park, getting assigned a 4x4, or the English proficiency of the drivers and park staff who accompany you as our guide took care of everything and made it seamless. (I would recommend a guide). But the experience was incredible. The park scenery is absolutely stunning. We saw so many gaur and their babies and 3 male elephants from afar! We were grateful to see any at all as we knew the possibility of seeing none. We stopped at 4 or 5 different spots. The drive was 7km into the park, and 7km back out the same way so you have the chance to check out viewpoints again to see if more elephants have come about. The staff are always talking to each other on radio to alert elephant sightings to make sure you see them (if there are any). Binoculars are 100baht in the visitor center where the tickets are purchased. Get the big ones, we used them a lot! This is a big park with a lot of thick trees and greenery for them to hide in. It was fun seeing the elephants little trails through the brush off the sides of the roads, and knocked over trees and branches. Signs they are around! The weather was perfect on the day we visited. Sunny and very windy so it was almost chilly by sunset! Not too hot at all, even when we started at around 3pm. But I recommend good sun protection since the 4x4’s are open to the elements. We had UV protection jackets and hats, plus a lot of sunscreen. The vehicle we were in had 3 umbrellas so if it were raining we would have had protection too. I can’t speak for that in all national park trucks though. There are toilets in decent condition by the visitor center. They have toilet paper! I also want to add - I’m surprised and saddened by a lot of negative people in the reviews here who can’t appreciate a place for what it is. The entire point of visiting a national park, to MAYBE see elephants, is that these beautiful animals are WILD and untouched by humans (as they should be) vs the unfortunate alternative of abuse and tourism cash grabs that is rampant in this part of the world (riding, bathing, unethical practices). If in the event you don’t see any, but you can’t find beauty in the other animals, birds, insects flying around, plants, and scenic beauty, that’s a YOU problem. If you do see some but at a very long distance and complain that there aren’t roads to get you selfishly closer to them or you can’t appreciate the fact that your own two eyes, even with binoculars, have seen these endangered animals live their lives safely from afar, that’s a YOU problem. Everyone should know the risk of price vs not seeing any elephants here, or seeing them from several hundred meters away. It’s luck! Enjoy the experience! ❤️
Anna R — Google review
If you want see elephants in Thailand, this is the ONLY place to do it. Eco tourism at its finest, most of Asia should take a big example from this institution. An abandoned setting deep in the jungle near the Burmese border and limited daily visitors allow this national park to flourish like almost none in the region. There’s only a 7.5km dirt road with four viewpoints along the way, to stop and lookout. It never feels overcrowded, it never feels like too close to disturb the animals natural behaviour. That being said, 100 Baht rent for binoculars is money well spent. We were able to 17 wild elephants, countless Gaurs and lots of birds including hornbills, eagles, kingfishers and egrets in the short span of only 3-4 hours. Please support this place instead of visiting any of the countless Thai elephant “sanctuaries”. This is how animal tourism should be!

We went wild elephant watching at Kui Buri National Park! The park entrance fee was 200 baht per person, and the truck with a driver and guide cost 850 baht in total. Our guide and driver were fantastic, and we were lucky enough to spot around 40 wild elephants, along with other wildlife. We patiently tracked and waited for the elephants, and late afternoon turned out to be the perfect time for it. We also got a close look at a hornbill, some deer, and junglefowl. Worth a visit. Best either you hire a car to get here as town is not that close. I would love to visit again.

A must-visit for wildlife lovers! Driving through scenic forest trails, you’ll have the chance to spot majestic wild elephants grazing peacefully and herds of gaur roaming the open grasslands. The park is home to hornbills, deer, and many other species, making every visit a true safari experience in Thailand. The peaceful atmosphere, stunning mountain views, and close encounters with nature make Kui Buri an unforgettable adventure.

It's a good choice if you want to see elephants, we saw about 4 different groups on a pretty short trip. The guides were nice too and were clearly doing their best to help us see as many elephants as possible.

Nature & Parks
Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, loosely translated as "the mountain with 300 peaks," is a 98-sq-km marine national park featuring white sand beaches and the renowned Phraya Nakhon Cave. The park offers diverse attractions such as pools, swamps, caves, and abundant wildlife, making it an ideal destination for families. Bueng Bua within the park is a stunning sight worth visiting, offering boat tours through the fresh-water marshland.
This was my 3rd time here. I’ll never get tired of coming back and means a lot to me! Magical place! This is a place the requires a lot of walking, up and down the mountain, make sure you’re fit enough to walk for a long distance in the heat, but once you arrive to the center inside the mountain, you can chill with the amazing views!! Loads of steps up and down but half way you got toilets and a nice restaurant to refresh with food and drinks. Also toilets. Half way there is a beach too. You can also take the boat the other way around making it easier to reach the beach (half way)

There are so many different places that you can experience in this National Park.It was so much fun. We decided that we were going to do the one hour boat tour. The mountains are just stunning and the views are beautiful. Be careful with the monkeys. They're very aggressive with food.If they see you have anything, they'll try to take it from you.If your car is open. They will go in your vehicles and they will climb on your vehicles.

This is definitely worth checking out while you’re in Hua Hin! It’s a bit of a “hike” (I used quotes because it’s mostly stairs 🤷‍♂️), but totally worth it, but here a a couple of things to know before you go. First, you have a choice of walking/hiking there or taking a boat. I took the boat cause I wanted to be on the water, beach is so beautiful here. If you take the boat, bring sandals because you must walk into the ocean a bit to climb onto the boat. If you walk, it looks like an equally beautiful walk; the natural landscape here is beautiful. One last tip: while in line, a local asked us if I wanted to split the cost of the boat with her and her daughter. I agreed (if I recall correctly, paid 200 of the 400 TBH total), and this is an important point. This very cool and nice local girl informed me that she was happy I agreed because she claimed that the people operating the boat-ride service will often try to add a lil foreigner tax if you’re not in the “know.” She told me that they will usually tell foreigners that it is 400 TBH per person, when the actual cost is 400 TBH total for the ride, which can be split amongst the passengers in anyway they see fit. Ergo, according to this cool local girl I was fortunate enough met there, if they tell you that it’s 400 per passenger, it’s definitely a foreigner tax haha 🤣. Back to the “hike”, I wore sandals to get on the boat and for the hike, and I was totally fine. I’m not the Michael Phelps of hiking nor anything like that 😝 , just saying that if you’re concerned, might wanna bring a towel and a pair of shoes to change into after the boat ride. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s mostly stairs you’re climbing, but they are stairs carved out of rock or made of wooden logs, you know like almost kinda like “natural” stairs, not something built from Home Depot supplies. The “stairs” are often uneven, slippery, jagged, etc., but I did it in sandals and I’m a 40+ yr old dood, so…. It is not the shortest “hike” haha and it can get hot af, so bring water. Once you get to the end, totally worth it tho. There’s a couple of fake/statue monks on display in the cave so don’t let those freak you out haha 😂. But yeah fr tho, totally worth it. Once you’re back to the beach the boat dropped you off at, there’s a really good local restaurant there selling some delicious, grub food there. So after the “hike”, grab some good local eats and a fresh coconut water 😋. One last thing, when we first arrived, I was instructed to remember the number of the boat that dropped me off, which I did, but didn’t seem to matter later 🤷‍♂️ but might be a good idea to jot it down somewhere for Justin (just in case lol). Enjoy your trip. @CBD-travelchannel

Beautiful national park. Was quiet when we went so felt off the beaten path. Great food options near the cave. We sat on the beach to eat. Well maintained hiking trails and frequent restrooms. We saw some friendly stray dogs and dusky langur monkeys.

A hidden gem in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, famous for the royal pavilion bathed in sunlight through a natural skylight. The hike is a bit challenging, but the breathtaking view inside the cave is worth every step.

Nestled within Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Phraya Nakhon Cave is a breathtaking natural wonder. The cave's enormous chamber houses the exquisite Kuha Karuhas Pavilion, a historic royal structure dating back to King Rama V's reign. Sunlight filters through the collapsed roof, casting an enchanting glow on the pavilion and creating a magical ambiance.
Very beautiful cave. Highly recommend a visit. You can either go by car or by boat. If you take the boat you skip the initial 500 hike which is quite steep. If you arrive by car there is plenty of parking space and vendors that sell water. Make sure you bring enough water! Second part of the hike is uphill quite steep but doable. You will be rewarded with great views at the end of the trail. Stunning views of the sun shining through the cave ceiling. Well worth a visit. There are toilets and restaurants on the beach at the base of the climb

This is one of the "must" sites to see along the upper gulf coast. Although you may have to really earn it. We went on October 22nd which was a nice hot day after quit a few wet ones. The boats would not run in the stormy seas so you will have to hike the first leg by the park entrance. Fee is 200 for foreigner, 100 for Thai. The hike can be strenuous if either physically limited, or have any ailments. After the first "up to the viewpoint" and down the backside you come up to the beach. A nice secluded shell filled beach that leads you to the one again strenuous (only because the humidity helps the sweat pour out) hike up towards the cave. The well maked path takes to the first cave system once the jagged limestone path levels off. Then down through a cave opening to the grand entrance of Phraya Nakhon Cave. The lighting causes for a very dramatic backdrop to the shine. Quite spectacular. And the temperature in quite nice dropping at least 8 to 10 degrees Celsius lower than the outside temperature. On a Wednesday it wasn't really crowded and with patience can have the whole place to yourself for the perfect photo opp.

Amazing spot nice views, to have the best light come 10.30 till 12.00. athe light on the temple is only in February. There are two mountains to be crossed. The first mountain can be down by boat if the waves are not to high, u arrive rhen directly on the beach and miss the views from the first mountain. At the beach there is a good restaurant with good drinks and they toilettes. From there u can start the second mountain when u made it, there is only ashort way down tonrhe cave entry. First of all, this cave is part of the Khao Sam Roi You national park. I recommend starting your day at the national park's ticket office. The ticket you buy here is valid for more than one attractions. I started my day with the mangrove forest around the ticket office area, then visited the Khao Daeng Viewpoint, after this Klong Khao Daeng (the boat trip price is not included in the ticket) and my last stop was Phraya Nakhon cave. I was riding a motorbike between the places. The cave can be reached by boats or walking. The motorboats are very loud and I prefer walking anyway so I hiked to the cave. Please note that it is a 2km distance. The first part of the road follows the sea shore, with wonderful views. It goes uphill first and then down to the beach. It is a bit rocky and you will definitely sweat a bit climbing here. Through the beach, you walk on flat surface among trees and sand, it is very pleasant (apart from the loud boats arriving every minute). Someone put swings on trees next to the beach, you may take nice photos here. There are also cafes and restaurant, bathrooms here to refresh if needed. The next part of the road takes you through a small forest part - apply mosquito repellent here if you haven't done it yet, they attack straight away! At the end of the forest road, you will see a big sign with many rules (how to dress, behave and so on) and a warning to understand your physical capabilities or limitations - because the next part of the road is very challenging. From now on, the road is mainly uphill on the natural terrain which has some steps built but it is mainly rocky and steep, sometimes a bit slippery. In the hot weather, it's not easy to complete the climb. Halfway up on the hill, you will find a resting stop with benches. The park also stations a first aid team here, which is reassuring. They are on standby for any emergencies or injuries. Also they sell (expensive) water. After climbing for about 500 meters, the last part of the road is finally downhill, believe me, you'll be grateful for that 😁 Please make sure you are dressed modestly to respect the Buddhist principles before entering the cave. The entrance is already impressive. I haven't seen a forest growing in a cave yet. The temple is in the second hall of the cave and if you are lucky, the sunshine will illuminate it. When I was there, I could admire it completely alone (low season) and it was a wonderful experience.

Parking: 10B motorcycle, 20B car Entrance to national park: 100B foreigner, 40B Thai Hike to Phraya Nakhon Cave: 1. 515m along the coast, up and down to reach Laem Sala beach 2. Around 1km flat along the beach. There's a restaurant. 3. 430m mostly up through the forest to the cave entrance. The path is shaded, mostly dirt, sharp rocks and makeshift steps. Physically demanding but very rewarding. Water can be bought at the entrance. Closed shoes recommended.

The cave at the end is very impressive. The hike there should be better maintained considering the amount of entrance fee revenue they collect. Path is very slippery in the rain, and there’s hundreds and hundreds of stairs. Highly recommend taking the boat there and back. After the beach, the rest of the trail is a brutal uphill treck. Beautiful to see, but wouldn’t go again. Lots of large orb weaver spiders are in the cave too, just as a warning for arachnophobes.

Nestled within the KaengKrachan National Park, about 60 km west of Hua Hin, Pa La-U Waterfall offers a picturesque setting with its 16 cascades and ancient forest teeming with rare wildlife. Visitors can embark on moderate to challenging hikes through unspoiled rainforest to reach the waterfall, where they can marvel at the natural beauty and take a refreshing dip in pools filled with wild carp fish.
Beautiful waterfalls with 5 levels that are available for tourists. In total the waterfalls have 15 levels which you can see on a map at the entrance. You can also feed fish here with food that can be bought for 10Baht at the entrance. In addition they have a small shop to buy refreshment and snacks. If you are planning to make your way up to level 5 make sure you bring enough water as it is a quite exhausting way. You can also swim here if you want. The water is cool and refreshing. Food is not allowed after level 1 so make sure you eat before you go further. There is a checkpoint after level 1 where you have to deposit your food to make sure no food goes further than level 1 but you are allowed to bring water. Entrance fee for adult foreigners is 300 Baht and for kids 150 Baht. For thai nationals it is 60 Baht and 30 Baht for kids. Vehicles are 30 Baht and motorcycles 20 Baht

About an hour drive from Hua Hin city central to this local waterfall. The waterfall is under the park ranger maintenance and control. Theres small fee for enter. Its a great place to bring family for the time together. We visited during long weekend and theres were lots of local, foreigners and Bangkok people.

Nice drive to the park from Hua Hin on a winding small road. 300 Baht entrance fee for non-Thais and 30 Baht per car. I picked a rainy day, which had the advantage of the park being very quiet. At most of my walk I was alone. Disadvantage is that the rocks are extremely slippery. Friendly NP staff. Some signs are just in Thai and there was no mobile signal, so I couldn't translate it. If I understand it correctly, there is NO food or drinks allowed past the second waterfall. It's a sweaty and very slippery climb though.

Very nice area with a lot of places to enjoy and rest in the cool forest. Wished you could even go more up, the adventure was limited up to stage 4. IMO there are too many fish, which makes it a bit difficult to get into the water. We have been there on a weekday and we’re lucky that the were not many visitors. Unfortunately they did not excepted my Thai ID card, as was mentioned wherefore I had to pay the high farang entry fee. But have to confess, it was worth it!

Lovely river hike upstream. I climbed to level 5 on many past occasions, but had to stop at level 3 yesterday due to rain/ wet and slipper rocks. Loved it still!

This is a somewhat remote location in the hills near the Myanmar border. There is a trail up to the biggest cascade that is steep and slippery in places but has had ropes put in place to assist you in the spots where you have to scramble up the most. The hike up and back is a nice workout. There are a few nice pools to swim in but there are a lot of fish loitering around looking for a handout and that can be a little off-putting despite what their presence indicates about the cleanliness and health of the water stream. They are fun to watch ascending the cataracts, though. There are several species of butterfly up there and don't be surprised if they land on you looking for salt from your sweat. People seemed pretty conscientious about their trash here, for the most part, but if you bring a bag and schlep some out that you might inevitably stumble across, you will be rewarded greatly by the Great Karma Chameleon of the Universe. We try to get up here a couple of times of year because it is such magical and beautiful place. Definitely, one of my favorite spots in Thailand.

Pran Buri Forest Park, situated just a short drive from Hua Hin, is a natural gem boasting an extensive mangrove forest and tropical woodlands. Managed by the Office of Conservation Area Management, this protected area spans 700 rai and features a tranquil white sandy beach. Visitors can explore the diverse ecosystem via raised wooden walkways that wind through the park without disturbing its delicate balance.
Must do! A little out of the way but 30 mins on a moped 🏍️ Boardwalk through the mangroves and you will see many amazing blue and red mud crabs 🦀 We walked approximately 600m and took a small boat (450b for 1-4 pax) skippered by a gorgeous Thai lady who took us through the mangroves, out through a fishing village and to the mouth of the sea where she dropped us off on a beach which was 200m back to our starting point. Thoroughly enjoyed this experience 😎

Interesting little excursion. This park is apparently apart of conservation efforts in the area. A raised wooden path has been constructed through the mangrove to give visitors the opportunity to explore this environment. Information sign are dotted about the path to give you an idea of possible animals, insects or foliage you may see. Sadly not many of these are written in English. The route is a loop which take you back to the car park. Boat ride are available only during high season. Information center, cafe and toilets available near car park. Not push or wheelchair friendly in certain areas as trees have been left where the path was constructed.

Very short walk, but it was beautiful and serene nevertheless. It's more like a mangrove swamp with lots of small crabs. If you go too early in the morning, it'll be low tide so no boats available.

I can’t believe such a beautiful place is free to visit! The 45-minute boat ride costs only 500 THB per boat, and each boat can take up to six people — such a fair price! The lady who took us on the boat was very friendly. Even though she didn’t speak English, she kept pointing out different animals for us to see. We spotted some birds we couldn’t name and even a swimming lizard! If you come to Hua Hin and skip this place, you’re really missing out!

Wonderful place to visit and walk along the trails among mangroves— took a boat tour and sighted the natures and fishing villages. If you are in Hua Hin, this is a must visit place.

A casual spot for a quick 1- to 2-hour walk, Pran Buri Forest Park’s Mangrove Forest offers a peaceful and scenic experience. The wooden walkway is well-constructed and regularly maintained by staff, making the path easy to navigate. There are no steep inclines—just a flat, smooth trail throughout. As the walkway winds through the mangrove forest, there are plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife such as mudskippers, mud crabs, and—if you're lucky—the highly elusive and endangered mud lobster. A highlight of the trail is the watchtower located in the center of the forest. You can climb the three-story structure for a stunning 360-degree view of the surrounding mangroves. On a good day, the skies are bright and sunny, so be sure to bring water and a towel to stay cool and refreshed. Overall, it’s a very family-friendly destination—perfect for a relaxing nature walk.
Krisana V — Google review
The Pran Buri Mangrove Forest offers a beautiful circular boardwalk trail that winds through lush greenery. Walking at a relaxed pace, it takes about 40 minutes to complete. About halfway around, there’s the option to take a boat tour — but only during high tide. Just like in our case, the river at low tide doesn’t have enough water for the boats to pass. For the kids, the highlight was spotting the many colorful crabs that scuttle along the banks. They made a game of “collecting” each color with their eyes — a fun twist that kept them engaged the whole way. Admission is free, making it an easy and rewarding stop for families and nature lovers alike. There is a large parking lot for cars and buses, but it was not overcrowded. You should combine this trip with a river boat tour in the nearby fisher village, tonsee the mangrove trees from the river side as well

If you're looking for activities to do during your stay, Hua Hin has plenty to offer – from cycling to fishing to swimming in the lake. All of our holiday home properties provide all the amenities you could need, including comfortable beds and bathrooms with showers and bathtubs.
What a find! This small all-villa complex just south of Hua Hin is a real gem. There are 12 self-catering one- and two-bedroom villas set between the mountains on one side and the King’s reservoir on the other. The views are stunning, and the peaceful setting makes it easy to relax. The place has a relaxed, friendly vibe, partly because it’s designed for longer stays. It’s a great base to explore this beautiful part of Thailand, with plenty of local bars and restaurants nearby offering great food and a casual atmosphere. You can unwind in one of the two pools or stretch out on your huge private deck—perfect for soaking up the sun or enjoying a quiet evening. The villas are well-equipped, comfortable, and give you all the space you need. Whether you're here for a week or longer, it’s the perfect place to switch off. I’ll definitely be back!

There are two decent sized swimming pools, one situated between two ponds, and another towards the front. The staff take such pride in maintaining everything, and it is therefore spotlessly clean throughout. The villas are very spacious and exude a calm and tasteful ambiance. The location is for those who enjoy a quieter style of holiday, away from the more touristy hustle and bustle of the close by Hua Hin central town. You can easily access the main town and visit the cute markets and extensive restaurants by a taxi for 2-300 baht. (About 15 minutes) Thank you to the welcoming and friendly staff and hosts for their wonderful hospitality. Honestly it is just a beautiful gem. The European clientele escape their winter in February but we hope to return in Australia’s winter in the middle of the year. Just don’t tell too many!!!

One of the best hotel experiences ever - loved it even before the renovation but now it’s just perfect when they added second bathroom to 2-bedroom houses and a second bigger pool. Absolutely stunning view and a convenient location within 10 minutes walk to the most beautiful beach in HH. A bit in the middle of nowhere in terms of shopping and dining so a car or bike won’t harm, but this makes it perfectly quiet, outside and inside. Houses are perfectly sound insulated and far enough from each other that it feels like entire territory is yours only.

We stayed here, as a family of 3, for 12 nights in August 2025. Coming from 3 nights and days in Bangkok, this place on the outskirts of Hua Hin, was an island of tranquility. Very beautiful situated on the edge of a reservoir in beautiful grounds with little to no noise from the surroundings. The villa we rented was exactly as described and was nicely furnished with air con throughout. The WiFi was outstandingly fast (hitting up to to 900 meg) and perfect for either families with teenagers or those looking to work remotely. The grounds were constantly looked after and the staff as a whole were very helpful and informative when looking for advice on stuff to do locally. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone.

What a lovely place to spend your vacation! This calm and quiet area contains 12 spacious villas, beutifully decorated. The bed is very comfortable. There are two swimmingpools and beautiful garden. All the staff is very nice and helpful. Just 10 minutes walk to a very nice beach with sunbeds and restaurant. We stayed for six weeks and will come back next year and stay longer.

30 Degrees in February is a beautiful resort tucked away in the beautiful laid back beach area of Khao Tao. Beautiful, clean, comfortable, well appointed guest houses with large decks, surrounded by flowering trees and shrubs and two large pools. The staff are kind and attentive. The Location is ideal, 2 minute walk to Khao Tao lake boardwalk, 3-4 restaurants 5 to 10 minute walk, 2 beautiful clean beaches 10 minute walk. There is also a great kite surfing area near the Best Western for beginners to enthusiasts. There is a golf course 5-10 minutes away that isn't plush but has a lot of peacocks and is inexpensive and good for a round or two. 30 Degrees will arrange rental of bicycle, scooter, car for transport. It's a quiet area that is perfect for bicycle riding, If your up for a long ride there is a bike path that will take you all the way to Takieb with a beach and tons of restaurants (the southern part of Hua Hin). I had my own car and walked most places. There are at least a dozen restaurants nearby and some small local markets for necessities. It is a 15 minute drive to Blueport and Village Market Malls, Cicada market, Bangkok Hospital... Hua Hin is a good size tourist town with all the the entertainment a typical beach town has to offer. In the other direction (south) is Pranburi a wonderful Thai beach town that is a gem with a lot to explore. 30 Degrees in February was perfect for me, I loved it here. Stayed a month and gave serious thought to staying longer but decided to lease a property instead. I really love this area and decided to move here.

Such a wonderful place you feel as though you are in the heart of Thailand with the Thai design Villas. Location is great, very close to Sai Noi Beach, close to Khao Tao Lake and all the superb restaurant's. Easy to get to Hua Hin for good shopping in the two big shopping malls. The staff are so nice and dedicated to your stay. Two pools to use both are large and warm. Open plan kitchen to living room, washing machine and electrical appliances . large bathroom and we had a one bedroom Villa with a large bedroom. Many Thanks Pete and Kristina

Location is amazing. Only 10mins from CBD HUA HIN and there is almost Private beach like near by. There are two swimming pool and clean and modern room yet it has Thai flavour all around the resort. I think its for people who are looking for a quiet & peaceful holiday.
