Highly recommend adding this to your Vietnam itinerary! The site is beautiful and has so much history. You are able to walk around and go inside many of the buildings. There are three sites to visit and there is a pavilion which has a show a couple times a day. There is also a small restaurant on the property.

The Japanese Bridge, located in Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most fascinating cultural attractions in Vietnam. Built in the 17th century, this monument has witnessed many changes in the town. If you come to Hoi An, it is a must-visit. The Japanese Bridge is called Chua Cau Bridge in Vietnamese. It was built by Japanese merchants to connect with the Chinese neighborhood. It was built for communication and connections and has a very important meaning. The Japanese Bridge in Hoi An is considered a beautiful representation of the town’s long history. For centuries, this bridge has connected the past, present, and future. In 1719, Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu visited Hoi An and inscribed the name “Lai Vien Kieu” in three characters at the entrance of the bridge. This means “Lai Vien Kieu” in Vietnamese and “Bridge to Welcome Guests from Far Away” in English. Also, because this tower was mainly built by the Japanese, it was named the "Japanese Bridge" or "Japanese Covered Bridge." Although it is commonly called the "Japanese Bridge," it is a unique combination of Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese cultures in terms of building materials, design, patterns, and decorations. On February 17, 1990, this bridge was designated as a national historic and cultural heritage. There are a dog and a monkey at the entrance and exit of the bridge, respectively. These two statues symbolize the guardian deities of the bridge, as they symbolize protection and safety in Japanese culture. It is also said that these two statues mean that the construction began in the Year of the Monkey and was completed in the Year of the Dog. Various cafes and restaurants have been built on both sides of the street centered around the Japanese Bridge, utilizing old and quaint houses. The old cultural heritage of Hoi An (UNESCO World Heritage) and the appearance of the ancient city still remain along the street. There are many unique cafes and restaurants here. There are also many shops selling traditional specialties, handmade products, and souvenirs on the street. And there are various galleries of various genres gathered here. This street was also a place where trade between Vietnam and Japan was active in the 17th century. It is a place with many things to see, so I recommend you visit. Unlike the daytime, the nighttime scenery is also breathtakingly beautiful.

It's a nice beach with fine sand. I went there during week days so it wasn't busy. The beach is clean and water temperature is perfect to cool down. There are a few vendors trying to sell you stuff but they are very polite and might have a quick chat with you.

Magnificent nature, the island naturally decorated by many flowers especially the red flowers accross the beach and mountains. Many beaches have white sand and blue water, you can discover coral reef as well. I really love many old trees here. The island is well protect from plastic, no plastic bags allow to use here. Will visit here again if i have free time

I did enjoyed it. Easy to spend 1h there. Loved the caves, obviously the mains one, but also tiny Van Thong cave (if you up for tiny places and a bit of scrambling - this is good place). Entrance to mountain 40k, if you want a lift thats 15k more - there is no many stairs to climb at gate 2 up and then anyway plenty of steps. If you entering at gate 1- thats definitely much more steps up. Am phu cave definitely worth visiting, but it extra 20k

Amazing to see all those cham sculture of this ancient civilization. A must to visit Historical museum in danang. Highly recommended. The entrance fee cost VND 60,000 super affordable and staff and security are very friendly.

The location is stunning. I took a grab from the hotel and my driver gladly waited for me since it can be difficult to get one depending on the time you go. I would highly recommend being there at 7 am before the tourist buses arrive. The early morning time is peaceful and you are able to soak it in with out fighting with the posers. The bonsai trees are beautiful along with the view. Unfortunately I did not see any monkies when there.

This was by far my favorite mausoleum in Hue. It is set within stunning gardens filled with tall pine trees, peaceful ponds, and traditional Vietnamese architecture. It’s a beautifully laid-out complex with lots of open space to walk around, relax, and take in the views. The area is well maintained and shows great care in its restoration efforts. Everything from the stone paths to the wooden pavilions feels thoughtfully preserved. The large lake in the center reflects the buildings and trees beautifully, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. We spent about 45 minutes here, but you could easily stay longer if you enjoy photography or just want to soak up the peaceful surroundings. It wasn’t too crowded when we went, which made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this one if you’re visiting Hue—especially if you’re only picking one or two mausoleums to explore. It combines natural beauty, history, and serenity all in one place. Beautiful pagoda right by the perfume river. Visited one late afternoon in August and it was very busy with tourists on tours. But the grounds are very peaceful if you keep walking back. Some monks were even playing badminton with public.

Peaceful place and the boat ride is so calm and memorable. You can even steer the boat for an experience to remember. The place is so serene and wonderful

The Imperial City (Hoàng thành), located inside the walled city of Huế, was the former royal capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen dynasty This is recognized by UNESCO as the world cultural heritage for over 30 years. I have experience many vicissitudes of history of Vietnam over centuries from many dynasties until Vietnam became a republic. The imperial city is still a long lasting and remain one of the most cherished values. Visitors will be able to learn about the 13 Nguyen dynasty kings who ruled Vietnam from 18th century to 1945. The many palace buildings that spread across the big compound was nice and grand and somehow you will feel that history has come alive from walking around. Note that the traveller could be spending half a day for walking tour.

Mr. Vu is an excellent tour guide. We did a day trip from Hue to the DMZ and tunnels. Even though our background knowledge about the vietnam war was limited, he took the time to explain everything in detail and did not get tired of answering our many questions. His tablet with extra pictures was a big help, since the museums are a bit basic. His car, a Ford SUV, was in very good shape and comfy. His driving was very smooth and safe, even for European standards.

It was a part of our DMZ tour. Inside the tunnel has meeting room, family room, maternity ward, operation room, kitchen, storage and bathroom with ventilator. Pretty impressive. We went there in May. It was a very hot and humid day. Inside the tunnel we felt uncomfortable at the beginning with little air. But it's not claustrophobic. Sometimes the tunnel is narrow and tight. I slipped on the wet steps, but my husband caught me just in time and was unharmed. Need to crawl to avoid startling the centipedes and spiders. It was quite the experience.

This cavern is huge and extremely beautiful. This cave is the longest in Asia spanning 31 Km in range, but for everyone to sight see only 1 Km opened. You can book a tour in advance that will take you to 2 caverns a day. The cave is very big, you can have a look around inside and enjoy the view. There's an expedition for 7 Km part of the cave, it's a one day tracking expedition. If you love cave exploration taking the 7 Km tour is going to be fun.

Bich Dong Pagoda is a serene and captivating site nestled among limestone mountains and lush greenery. The walk up to the pagoda is peaceful, with stunning views that get better as you climb. The pagoda itself is built into the mountainside, creating a unique and tranquil atmosphere that feels both spiritual and connected to nature. Each level offers something special, from ancient altars to breathtaking vistas. It’s not overly crowded, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. A must-visit if you’re exploring the Ninh Binh area and want a quiet escape steeped in history and beauty.

We enjoyed yet another wonderful stay at Mua Cave Ecolodge! The services offered by the front desk staff (Lan and Ha Vì) and restaurant staff (Nhung and Ling) are consistently outstanding, as this is our third stay. We were offered an upgrade but we chose to stay in the family room with balcony because of the amazing view! The grounds are fabulous and provide easy access to ascend dragon mountain. The food is delicious and we enjoyed wine made from a vineyard on the property. The value for the room, food and location is great! We’re definitely planning to return!

Trang An Ninh Binh is a breathtakingly beautiful destination that exceeded my expectations! The scenery is stunning, with tranquil waters and lush surroundings. I took the limousine from Hanoi, which took over an hour but was worth it for the convenience (200k VND/person, easily bookable via app). At Trang An, I enjoyed a great drink at the Starbucks store, which had a lovely Japanese/Korean vibe. Ticket prices are 250k VND/person, and can be bought online for a smooth experience. The queueing system for the boat rides is well-organized, and there are several route options to choose from. I opted for Route 2, which took me on a scenic tour around Trang An, although I skipped the big pagodas and temples due to time constraints. If you have more time, I recommend visiting Bai Dinh Pagoda as well. The boat ride takes over 3 hours, and the water was a beautiful greenish hue this season. I spotted some aquatic plants and even caught a glimpse of the Kong movie film studio. To make the most of your visit, I recommend going early in the morning. Overall, Trang An Ninh Binh is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and those seeking a serene getaway. Highly recommended! Let me know if you'd like any changes!

I visited Hoa Lo Prison in Hanoi and paid 50,000 VND for the entrance. I didn’t get the audio guide since many of the exhibits already have clear explanations in English. It was very interesting to see and learn about the history of the prison and what life was like for both Vietnamese and American prisoners. The displays are well organized and give a deep look into an important part of Vietnam’s past. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy history.

A very nice outdoor area especially on Sunday as it was isolated from cars. People can walk and jog around the lake and in very nice weather. So lovely to see locals interacting with their loved ones.

Temple which showcases the importance of education in traditional Vietnamese culture. Also notable is the extensive Chinese influence on Vietnam over time, and the localization of it into Vietnamese culture over the years. Much of what we see today was reconstructed - notably with help from the Australian government. The majority of the temple was destroyed over the ages, and during the Vietnam war. The temple, impressively so, makes a point of incorporating local artists and art, and not merely historical items to complement the presentation. For the front of this temple, the modern artistic representation of Chu Van Anh was quite notable. Highly recommend devoting some of your time in Vietnam to visit this significant historical landmark. Do not recommend renting the audio guide, which seems to simply narrate the information on placards within. Will further elaborate on separate reviews within.

I remembered watching water puppet show as a kid. Being a mom now I brought my daughter with me and she totally loves it. You dont need to understand the language to be able to enjoy the show. It was meant to be easy to comprehend. And please stop the argument that most customers are foreigners hence the show must be in English. NO! This is our culture, this is our heritage. It must be presented in Vietnamese. Klook sells online tickets. And I highly suggest buying tickets in advance as shows could sold out very quickly during holidays seasons. Show runs for 50mins make sure you got plenty of time to get there because the theatre is in one of the most busy and congested area of the city.

Inside, visitors have the opportunity to see President Ho Chi Minh’s embalmed body preserved in a glass case. It’s a powerful moment – not just for Vietnamese, but for foreigners too – to witness the lasting legacy of a man who played such a vital role in Vietnam’s history. One thing to note is that the mausoleum is only open in the mornings and closed on Mondays and Fridays, so planning ahead is necessary. There may be a queue, especially during holidays, but the line moves quite efficiently.
