Beautiful, humbling place. There was so much to experience from the Golden temple to the jora service to the langar service to the gold sewa workshop. The museums on-site are also there to serve as a reminder of the resilience that Sikhs have had to have to survive and become a large community. There are many gurudwaras and soravars (lakes) on-site to take amrat as well. To be able to sit under the trees that some of the Gurus had done so was also wonderful. A beautiful place to visit.

Needless to add this place is absolutely magical especially early morning between 3.30 am and 5.30 am. It is absolutely breathtaking. A must visit at that time. One can sleep later during the day. The serenity an peacefulness is something one must experience.

A divine place. I have almost zero knowledge of Sikhism. But when I stand in th3 queue for 4 hours that is when I felt the presence different energy. I have been to Kashi, Ujjain and every where u have to stand in queue. A lot of pushing touching, but here people are standing together with families but with pure energy and devotion to "Guru"🙏

This temple is one of a kind. The moment I entered the temple, it felt like entering a fort, as you see lush green lawn ahead of you. (I have never seen such a sight in any other temple.) I really liked the fact that the govt. has preserved the original theme.

Temple premises are neat and clean. On a clear weather you can see magnificent Dhauladhar. Greenery all around the temple. Clean Washroom are available. Drinking water available. The atmosphere of the temple is really good. It's very old temple and build quality is extraordinary. The carvings on the walls are extraordinary. You should attend aarti in evening. I have attended that twice. There was a group young devotees singing bhajans once and they really made our experience to next level. There is a place where children can play and we can click pics of natural beauty.

All in all - its just a theek thaak waterfall. JANA on the other hand is a bful place to stay Waterfall starts when one starts moving uphill from naggar. Water trail can be seen at many places, but this is the best of them. It is located 15 mins from Jana village - 15 mins when you ride continuously. In season, one should park vehicle before and walk to the waterfall for lot of tourists may cause jam. The road from Naggar is good only in patches, and its not a very wide road. By the time one reaches waterfall, there is no sign of pucca road. - i guess the work is currently in progress. if one continues to go uphill, one will reach Bijli Mahadev Temple

I went in June mid, there wasn’t much water flowing in the water fall. The road with pine trees is amazing. Waterfall itself wasn’t that good but the journey was great. The road is problematic towards the end so take care.

A good stop for those seeking peace and a rustic Himachali lunch nearby, but manage your expectations if you're heading out solely for the waterfall.

Stayed for 3 days in the year 2017. The Gurudwara welcomes everyone with open arms and teaches humility and community service. Taking a dip in the hot pond which is all natural is the best thing. The marvel of life rice being cooked in hot spring water. Safe for girls.

During our trip to Manikaran in Himachal Pradesh, we had a truly unforgettable experience surrounded by natural beauty and spiritual serenity. The highlight of our visit was the famous Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara, where we were warmly welcomed and served delicious free food, known as Prasad, in the community kitchen (langar). It was heartwarming to see people from all walks of life sitting together and sharing a meal in such a peaceful environment. Just beside the Gurudwara, we marveled at the natural hot springs that are believed to have healing properties. The steam rising from the springs in the cool mountain air created a magical atmosphere. Watching people cook rice and lentils in the hot spring water was both fascinating and unique. The entire experience combined spiritual peace, natural wonder, and human kindness in a way that left a lasting impression on all of us.

Rewalsar Lake is calm, beautiful, and a great place to just sit, chill, and stare into the distance like you’re solving the mysteries of life. The view is lovely, the breeze is nice… but let’s be honest — there’s not a whole lot to “do” here. And before you get any bright ideas — don’t feed the fish. Unless you’re carrying ₹5000 just for the fine. The fish look hungry, but the rules are stricter than school exams. There are some snack stalls nearby and a few places to try Tibetan food, which is actually pretty good and worth a bite. Overall: Great place to relax, click some peaceful pics, and enjoy the lake view — just don’t expect too much action. Come here when your soul needs a break, not when you’re craving an itinerary.

It is located around 18-20 kms away from Ner Chowk. The road to reach there is narrow, and being widened at the very end. The whole town is located around the Lake. The lake is sacred amongst Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. There’s a monastery, a Shiva temple and a Gurudwara around the lake. The lake is beautiful and it has lot of fish inside it. The garden needs a bit of maintenance and cleaning. There’s a car parking inside the lake premises.

Lake Rewalsar, also known as Tso Pema, is a significant pilgrimage site in the Buddhist tradition. It was one of the highlights on our two-week road trip. The lake holds deep spiritual meaning, with unique stories and beliefs in both Buddhist and local traditions—each version equally fascinating.

It was a one-of-a-kind experience, especially in the snow. We trekked alone through the snowy landscape and even witnessed live snowfall. The next morning, the view was absolutely breathtaking. However, it was so cold that taking photos was a real challenge.

It is a peaceful and beautiful spot surrounded by nature. It holds religious importance as it is linked to Sage Rishi Parashar..so visitors are requested to avoid smoking, drinking or loud music. They say the water of the lake is holy. • Floating Island Phenomenon At its center floats a small island of vegetation that shifts position over time-covering roughly 7 % of the lake's surface, with the remaining 93 % water Local lore frames it as a "microcosm of Earth" and says its motion foretells natural events • Spiritual Significance A three-storied pagoda-style temple stands on the shore, dedicated to Rishi Parashara. Built in the 13th-14th century by King Ban Sen of Mandi, it was reportedly carved from a single deodar tree and decorated with fine woodwork. The site sees major festivals like Rishi Panchami, Sauranahulia, and other fairs that draw pilgrims from across neighboring valleys. . Legendary Origin According to myth, after the Kurukshetra War, Bhima-one of the Pandavas-struck a mountain with his elbow to create a depression in which the lake formed for Lord Kamrunag, who wanted to stay there forever.

The lake is a notable tourist hotspot for its in-floating island, which is believed to mysteriously move across the lake during nighttime.

The trek from Kalga to Kheerganga was equally magical. The trail was surrounded by dense forests, and on the way, we crossed two beautiful waterfalls that made perfect spots to take a break and soak in nature. The sound of the flowing water, birds chirping, and fresh mountain air – it was pure therapy.

Kheerganga Trek – A Journey to Nature’s Lap and Inner Peace Kheerganga, tucked deep in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh, is a magical destination that combines adventure, spirituality, and raw Himalayan beauty. Known for its natural hot springs, lush green meadows, and panoramic mountain views, the Kheerganga trek is a must-do experience for trekkers and backpackers visiting the region. The trek begins from Barshaini, a small village around an hour from Kasol. From here, the trail winds through dense pine forests, cascading waterfalls, rustic wooden bridges, and quaint villages like Nakthan and Kalga. The 12 km trek is moderately challenging, with a mix of flat paths and steep ascents, taking about 4–6 hours depending on pace and weather. We trekked up Kheerganga Mountain recently in two days: 1/4 to 2/4/25. It was a college trip of 50 plus students, the trek is in easy to moderate category. We stayed at camping site at Rudarnaag, almost mid point of trek. As for the trek camps, the food quality was good, students enjoyed bonfire with music and dance, the tents were spacious and clean. The service was very good and prompt that helped managing such a big group, hot water was available in evening and morning, they kept our extra luggage so that we could trek conformably. As for the trek it is amazing, scenic beauty at its best, with so many water falls on the way. The view at the top was indescribably amazing.

Returned from kheerganga trek. Good staying experience at Rudarnaag camping site. The tents and blankets were very clean, the food quality was also good, everyone was very cooperative.

The camping and trekking experience was great. Mr. Om Prakash was very prompt, in terms of providing the guide and also the porter services. He went one step beyond by offering help with storing the additional luggage in a cafe. Overall, very good experience, and would definitely recommend to friends and family. 🙂

I recently went on the Kheerganga trek and it was absolutely amazing! The weather was perfect and the scenery was breathtaking. The entire trek was well-planned and well-organized, making it a truly enjoyable experience. The trek itself was challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. The trail was well-marked and the views along the way were absolutely stunning. We passed through lush forests, crossed crystal-clear streams, and saw countless waterfalls along the way. The highlight of the trek, of course, was reaching the top of Kheerganga. The view from the top was simply breathtaking, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We also got to take a dip in the natural hot springs, which was a truly unforgettable experience. Throughout the trek, our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. They were always there to offer advice and encouragement, and made sure that we were safe and comfortable at all times. Overall, I would highly recommend the Kheerganga trek to anyone who loves the outdoors and enjoys a good challenge. The scenery is stunning, the trek is well-organized, and the experience is truly unforgettable.

We trekked up Kheerganga Mountain, and the view at the top was indescribably amazing. As for the trek camps, there's WiFi, good food, a bonfire, and spacious tents that comfortably fit 2-3 people. You can also enjoy a hot spring bath at the top, which used to be like a swimming pool but is now just a hot shower.

This place is really beautiful, it takes you back to the British era. There’s a lot of greenery outside and the views are amazing. You need a ticket to visit both inside and outside. Inside, it gives a very royal feeling and you also get to learn about the history

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) is a research institute in Shimla, housed in the former Viceregal Lodge, a must visit Historical place..built between 1884 and 1888 as the summer residence for the Viceroy of India. After India's independence, the lodge was renamed Rashtrapati Niwas (President's House). Loads of jaw dropping advanced features built e.g. Concealed Electrical wiring, advanced Fire fighting system, 200 years old working pendulum, walnut interiors. etc... Its amazing..!! It also contains rare archives, If you are visiting Shimla and keep interest in History...a must must visit. PS - Photography inside the building is prohibited.

The Viceregal Lodge in Shimla is one of those places that instantly takes you back in time. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by extraordinary architecture, intricate woodwork, and an atmosphere that reflects the grandeur of the British era. The building itself is absolutely stunning — every corridor, staircase, and room tells a story of its own. The lush gardens outside and the panoramic views from the hilltop add even more charm to the visit. We took the guided tour, which was informative and helped us understand the historical significance of each section of the lodge. However, I personally felt that the tour was a bit rushed. Even though the guide mentioned that we could take our time, we were quickly moved from one room to another. I would have loved to pause longer and really soak in the details — the furniture, the photos, and the artifacts that make this place so special. Despite that, it’s a must-visit attraction in Shimla. The architecture alone makes it worth the trip, and if you’re someone who appreciates history, art, or old-world charm, you’ll definitely enjoy it here. I’d recommend visiting early in the day to truly take in its beauty and peaceful surroundings.

Vicergal lodge named as 13 British viceroys used this placec as residence and used as their capital for 8months every year as summer capital. Draft of partition of India was discussed here. Dr S Radhakrishnan converted this to educational institute IIAS, now offers advanced studies in social science and humanities. British era history involved in this building. 137 years old now. But sad to see poor maintenance and upkeep of structure inspite of hefty entry fee to stay 30 mins inside the building as guided tour.

Situated at 2.5 kms from Shimla railway station, this used to the de-facto power base in India during the British times for 8 months. The first building in Shimla to get electricity, it also saw time as Independent India's first President House for around a decade. Guided tours are available but too many people are stuffed in them and one can't properly appreciate the amount of history (usually in form of images and lettering). A proper way would be to let people go in and browse at their own leisure. Alas, one can't have that. Only the ground floor is accessible (4 odd rooms) to public. There is a lawn and small garden outside as well.

You won’t feel like in India by looking at the buildings at scandal point when you are Shimla. Don’t get confused if driver tells you they are also going to cover the this point separately since it is next to The Ridge. You have to follow the same route. Just keep walking because vehicles are not allowed here.

Good place for a long walk. At night it looks amazing and you can see amazing views of church and other attractions near scandal point.

It is the point where the Mall, the route to the Ridge and that to the GPO meet. It is regarded by many to have got its name from where an erstwhile Maharaja of Patiala carried off a British Commander-in-Chief's daughter. While Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja in question, is known to have cut a finger that was more than dashing, it is unlikely that the Maharaja or the lady would have been out on the streets airing their love.

Jakhu Temple (also Jakhoo Temple) is an ancient temple in Shimla,Himachal Pradesh, India, dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Hanuman. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhu Hanuman temple on 4 November 2010. The temple is accessible by foot, horse, taxi or ropeway. The Jakhu Ropeway is an aerial lift that links a point near the centre of Shimla to the temple. It was developed by Jagson International Limited and opened in 2017.

Very beautiful temple of God Hanuman. Temple itself is very beautiful. I would recommend to visit it early morning to get less crowd and good pictures. This temple is on top of mountain. Be careful these wild monkeys may snatch your mobile or caps.

Points to be noted 1. Please be aware of cabs for visiting temple. 2. Rates can be negotiated 3. Path is very odd hence ropeway and cabs are the only way to visit. 4. Cabs for temple are far away from mall road. Hence it is suggested not to take senior citizens and people having knee problems. 5. Once cabs drops you near temple there are stairs followed by escalator. 6. 20 rupees per person is the rate for 2 escalators which takes you to temple. Or one can go by stairs.

Visited Jakhu Temple in Shimla for Hanuman Ji’s darshan. We took a private van from the Clock Tower for ₹300 (up & down for two people), though there’s also an HRTC bus available for around ₹30 which comes every 30–50 minutes. There are a lot of monkeys around; they’re not harmful but you need to be careful with your belongings. Standing below the huge Hanuman statue and offering prayers felt truly divine and peaceful. A must-visit spot for a calm spiritual experience.”

Everything A grade, only to reach there especially for elderly is bit difficult.As vehicles are not allowed and got to walk steep road for 4 to 5 km is difficult . Govt should start e rickshaws for public.

This is the highest point of Kasauli. Took a cab all the way up to the air force sub station. From there it was a 30 min climb (would have been much faster if I was alone). It is just a lot of stairs but they are nicely paved and well maintained. Senior citizens and even 70+ year olds also come up if they take a lot of rest in between (there are places to sit and rest). The temple at the top has a peaceful vibe. There are monkeys here and you'll be instructed to not carry food in your hand. If you have the "prasadam" from the temple, carry them in your pockets. This is also known as the Monkey point or Manki point. Our cab driver told us "Manki" is not a spelling error but refers to the hindi word "mann ki" (something related to heart/soul) but not sure about it's authenticity. The main downside of visiting this place is that it is close to the air force station and all electronic devices are prohibited - meaning no photography at all. Most of the pics you see here on this pin are actually from different places in Kasauli (added erroneously ...smh). Some pictures of the temple can be taken from a km away from the Gilbert Trail if you zoom in. There is a paid locker where you submit your bags and devices and go for the hike.

Temple is located at 6500 feets. 300 steps to climb. Only taxis are allowed from Mall Road Car Parking or you trek for an hour. Mountain views are awesome. It is believed that during Lord Hanumans flight from himalayas bringing Sanjeevani booti his left foot was rested on this hill and hence the importance of this place. Mobiles, photography etc strictly prohibited 🚫 in this area.

Its a beautiful temple located on mountain top of kasauli. The visiting time is till 4pm all around the year and 1-2 is lunch time. There is no Entry fee. Taxi service is available from mall road to manki point for 200-250 rupees per person but I would highly recommend to cover the beautiful trail on foot as you get to enjoy the beautiful path. Its is hardly 3-4 kms and an easy trail. If you are lucky enough you get to see the valley covered with beautiful flowers specially during monsoon (mid July- September end). Or you can choose the small path going via sunset point which connects to manki point in between and is about 1-1.5kms and slightly steep. Phones, smart watches and bags are not allowed inside the temple area as it is a Cantt area and you can submit your belongings by paying some charges. Carry cash as you will be needing it for buying food/water inside the temple premises. After entering the cantt area, temple is half kilometer on top with 282 stairs. You can enjoy the view from top. Beware of monkeys if carrying food items.

the Sanjeevani Hanuman Temple is a must visit place in kasauli. Located atop a mountain, the temple is accessible only by foot. Be aware that it's situated within an Air Force station, meaning no mobile phones or electronic devices are allowed inside. A paid locker facility is available to store your belongings before you proceed. Security checks are mandatory before entering the temple area. Please note that many Google Maps photos for this location are inaccurate due to the no-phone policy; they often depict other Kasauli locations. Despite these restrictions, the temple itself has a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere and is definitely worth the trek. One important tip: monkeys are abundant, so don't carry food items or other stuff in your hànd and it's advisable to visit in a group.

You get a beautiful view of Kasauli from the top, as it’s the highest point there and certainly hold high religious value and gives peace. A must visit place, if you are in Kasauli. Rose is one of the best attractions in Chandigarh. If you like roses and greenery you must visit this place. Although Chandigarh is very green but this place an its own vibe.

We went in November but there were almost no Rose's flowering. So better visit in February. But very nice garden to sit and relax.

It is a very nice and big garden where you can easily spend 2 to 3 hours. Childrens play area are also there. There are lots of varities of roses from all over the world. You can scan their QR code and know more information about them. Better to visit in winters as roses are more blossoms in that season.

I visited Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh early morning recently, and it was a refreshing experience! This man-made lake, built in 1958 by Le Corbusier’s team, is a serene spot with calm waters reflecting the Shivalik hills. The early morning vibe was magical—cool air, chirping birds, and a stunning sunrise painting the sky. The walking path was perfect for a peaceful stroll, and I loved watching locals jogging and practicing yoga. The nearby café served tasty snacks, adding to the charm. However, some areas had litter, which slightly detracted from the beauty. Also, more benches would’ve been nice for resting. Despite these, Sukhna Lake’s tranquility and scenic views make it a lovely spot to start the day in Chandigarh.

10/10 place. I went there for just hanging out. The weather inside is amazing. Beautiful scenery. You can roam around the whole place. Imagine how the movies were shot there. See the rich history of the building. The pictures I shot were pure gold. There is also a ticket to enter of ₹25 and I suggest you to take your own personal vehicle there but it is not a necessity.

Robber’s Cave in Dehradun is a naturally beautiful spot—a narrow gorge with a stream running through it—but honestly, it didn’t feel as peaceful as I’d hoped. The place was overcrowded, which took away from its natural charm and made it hard to enjoy the serene vibe I was expecting. The rock formations and cold water are impressive, and it could be a lovely experience if you manage to go at a quiet time. But if you’re looking for a calm, reflective escape or somewhere to just breathe and soak in nature, this isn’t the best choice on busy days

After spending days in the hills, visiting Gucchipani felt like a refreshing little adventure. The place is known for its natural cave formation where a cold stream flows right through the rocks — and walking barefoot in that crystal-clear water is pure fun. As soon as I entered the narrow cave, the temperature dropped and the sound of running water echoed beautifully. Sunlight peeking through the gaps above created a magical vibe. It’s not a long trek, but every step inside feels like walking into nature’s own secret tunnel. The water was icy cold — perfect to beat the heat — and it was amazing to just sit near the waterfall at the end, dip your feet, and let the calmness sink in. Outside, there are a few small cafes serving Maggi, chai, and pakoras — the perfect mountain snack combo after the walk.

The crowd ruined the experience as there was hardly any space to truly appreciate its beauty. The cave was overcrowded, and the water flow was minimal—made worse by the number of people, making even the dirty water hard to see. The ticket price is ₹30 per person. It’s better to go on foot, as the route is not suitable for cars or other vehicles. To enjoy it properly, avoid visiting on weekends or during rainy days.

Walking through the cold stream between high rock walls is an amazing experience — super refreshing, especially in summer. The place is easy to reach and has basic facilities like changing rooms, lockers, and food stalls nearby. However, it can get quite crowded on weekends and cleanliness could be better. Try to visit early morning for a calmer vibe. Avoid going during heavy rains as the water level rises quickly. Overall, a must-visit place for a short getaway or a fun day with friends and family.

A Hidden Gem in Dehradun – Must Visit! Robbers Cave is an awesome place to visit with family and friends! The natural beauty is stunning, with cool water flowing through the narrow cave – it feels like walking in a secret adventure path. The stream running through the cave is super refreshing, especially in summer. Kids and adults alike will love splashing around and exploring the unique rock formations. The place is well-maintained, and there are changing rooms and food stalls nearby, which makes it convenient for families. Don’t forget to carry an extra pair of clothes and waterproof slippers!

Great recreational place to visit but this was very crowdy. Avoid visiting during monsoon since caves get submerged in water and you can only visit till the entrance of the caves. Excellent spot to travel with friends and family have snacks or just hangout.

It's a very beautiful & amazing place to hang out with your loved ones. Once you enter you'll be mesmerized by it's scenery & you can take dive into the waterfalls. The ticket price is 35rs for adults but the drawback is they only accept cash no option for online, so you better carry the loose money. Entry was smooth as we went there early so there was no rush as such. You have to wear slippers because of the waterfalls. You can rent the slippers as there were many sellers. Ram Jhula is one of the most visited places in Rishikesh. It's the way to Famous Ashrams like Parmarth Niketan, Geeta Bhawan, Beatles Ashram. Also you can go to taxi stand for Neelkanth Mahadev and also paidal marg for the same. It has beautiful ghats for Maa Ganga Snan. Very scenic in evening and night. Also breeze in the night on this bridge is very calm and serene. Best month to visit Rishikesh and Ram Jhula is October and November. Please do not litter on these Holy places. Be kind to all. As we know about ramjhula Ram Jhula is a long hanging bridge in Rishikesh built over the holy Ganga River. When you will just cross Ram Jhula, turn left side (instead of right)100 meter, a beautiful view is waiting for you.you will find benches on the bank of Ganga or you go down on sand beach. Opposite to benches economic and good guest houses are available @₹700-₹3500. If you want go to some crowded place or market then turn right from Ram Jhula. There you may participate in ganga aarti, shoping, fooding, tea, coffee, etc. Yes, walking around is nice, when you reach Laxman jhula must enjoy Honey-ginger lemon tea.

I have vitnessed almost all famous aartis of GANGAJI at Haridwar and Rishikesh during the trip but Aarti at Triveni Ghat is One of the best Gangaji Aarti I have. View of Sunset is just refreshing. And only Aarti where everyone is allowed to do Aarti at Free of cost by the management. Management themselves provide Aarti thalis to many people and they shares thalis with each other so each and everyone can enjoy and participate at Aarti. And story doesn't ends here, Bhajan starts after Aarti and surely you will get goosebumps if you have vitnessed the joy. In short don't miss it if you are visiting Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Sitting by the banks of the Ganges surrounded by mountains, you feel tremendous peace and positive energy. It can get crowded during the Aarti, so arrive early to get a good spot. The whole experience — from the holy dip in the river to the aarti and the nearby temples — makes Triveni Ghat a must-visit for anyone seeking serenity and divine vibes in Rishikesh.

Well managed. Entry is started at 5 pm for the Arti at 6 pm. Orderly queue is started at 5. People pay to offer 'special' puja, and they're allowed to/ are conducted fpr puja before the Aarti begins. It's well choreographed. Quite a spectacle.

A very beautiful place to be if you are spiritual. Usually a must visit when the Ganga Aarti happens. Usually during winters the Aarti happens at 5.30pm however it's important that you reach there 20 minutes earlier to get the front seats.

Beautifully located on the top of the mountain with Har Ki Pouri beneath it. The road ,if you go walking, is all winding and will take a long time to reach the top. There is cable car service which is pretty crowded but well organised and takes you up in minutes. The view on the way up or down is awesome, with Ganga stretching out for a very very long distance, the Har Ki Pouri, the bridges, etc you can see and the majestic mountains surrounding the area. The temple was quite crowded and people were unruly pushing and pulling, no crowd control as such. Even the darshan was difficult as people were pushing from the back. Apart from the crowd control rest is good. Jai maa Mansa Devi. 🙏

mansadevi Temple is a peaceful and beautiful place in Haridwar. The view from the top is really nice and you can go by ropeway or by walking. Water and sitting facilities are available at almost every turn which helps a lot while climbing. No photography is allowed inside the temple and there are no entry charges. A proper shoe stand is also available. The temple feels very spiritual and calm.

The cable car was a very good experience and offered good views. Keep hold of the ticket if you buy return. The temple complex is very cramped and offers no outside areas (unless you walk up??) The cable car waiting area was not full and the snack outlets in the temple were not open ,I assume it was a less than busy time so I dread to think how claustrophobic it would be when super busy! Shoe stand at entrance. Negotiating each little temple section without being dragged in easier as a westerner but do keep an eye on the rest of the group as we waited ages for" Tail End Charlie "at the the shoe stand on the way out!!

The temple is located on top of a hill accessed by a ropeway. There is some 15 minutes wait for the ropeway on crowded days. The charges are ₹190 per person and you can book ropeway for Chandi Devi temple too at a discounted package rate here. There is a sloping walkway also available. The views from the ropeway is breathtaking, but the approach to it is through narrow lanes in between houses and dilapidated structures. The Q system was good till the final steps to the temple. Then it became crowded and unruly, maybe due to Diwali week. You can buy some Prasad along the Queue which will be offered to the Goddess and given back. There is a place to keep footwear after the ropeway ride.

We visited Maa Chandi Devi Temple and had a wonderful spiritual and scenic experience. We went up using the ropeway, which was truly enjoyable — the short 5-minute ride offered beautiful views of the mountains and the surrounding greenery. It felt peaceful and refreshing. After reaching the top, we took the blessings of Maa Chandi Devi, and also visited the nearby Hanuman, Anjana Mata, and Santoshi Mata temples. The place has a divine atmosphere, and the entire visit felt serene and fulfilling. Overall, it’s a must-visit place for both spiritual seekers and nature lovers. The combination of the ropeway ride and the temple’s peaceful ambiance makes it a memorable experience.

The ropeway to Chandi Devi Temple offers stunning aerial views of Haridwar, the Ganga river, and surrounding hills. The ride is smooth, safe, and takes just a few minutes to reach the top. A great experience for all age groups and totally worth it for the scenic views alone.

The temple is peaceful and worth visiting, but the overall management is poor. Ropeway waiting time is 1–2 hours and the area is overcrowded. Biggest issue is returning without your own vehicle — auto drivers refuse to go unless their big autos are full, making tourists wait for hours. Strongly recommend visiting only if you have your own transport. We recently visited Chandi Devi Temple in Haridwar and while the temple itself is serene and spiritually uplifting, the overall experience left us disappointed due to poor management around the visit. To reach the temple, you need to take the tram (ropeway) service, but the waiting time is extremely long — anywhere between 1–2 hours. The starting point for the tram is overcrowded, which makes the wait even more uncomfortable. There are some small shops for souvenirs, snacks, and games, but that doesn’t balance the chaos. Once you reach the top, there is a small hike via stairway to the temple. The stairs are divided into two sides — one for going up (which is in good condition) and one for coming down (which is poorly maintained and quite difficult to walk on). All of this could still be manageable, but the biggest problem starts when you have to return to your hotel or onward destination without your own vehicle. The auto drivers outside act like goons — they refuse to take passengers unless their large autos are filled completely, or you hire the entire vehicle even if you’re a single person. When I asked small auto drivers, they said they’re afraid of the big ones as they get threatened or beaten if they pick up customers from there. We ended up waiting more than an hour just to get back, which completely ruined the experience. The temple is worth visiting, but I strongly recommend going with your own vehicle. The authorities really need to step in and resolve this transportation issue, as it’s making tourists suffer unnecessarily.

Bhulla Taal is a small, artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery it’s clean, peaceful, and nice for a short outing. Apart from the lake with ducks and fish (fish feed is available for ₹10), they also have rabbits, hamsters, and some birds, which kids and animal lovers will enjoy. The ticket prices are quite high ₹250 per person including boating, which feels expensive for what’s offered. Without boating, it’s ₹100, and defence personnel are charged ₹50, which is reasonable. They also have archery, a trampoline, and swings, which are extra ₹100 each, and kids really seem to enjoy them. There’s free parking, which is convenient, but overall, while the place is pleasant for a brief visit, the pricing could be more reasonable.

The entry fee is ₹50 per person, which feels a bit steep considering what’s offered. Boating costs an additional ₹150, and every other ride inside the premises has separate charges as well. So, it can quickly add up and may not feel entirely worth the price. The lake and its surroundings are clean, well-maintained, and quite peaceful. It's a pretty place to relax for a while, click some pictures, or enjoy a quiet boat ride. But the experience is fairly limited, and the overall vibe doesn’t quite justify the entry fee. Parking is also limited and chargeable, which is another downside. Overall, it’s good for a one-time visit if you’re in Lansdowne, but not a must-see destination. If you’ve already experienced more vibrant or scenic spots like those in Nainital, Bhulla Lake might feel underwhelming.

Bhulla Taal is a small lake in the middle of Lansdowne, it offers good views with decent flora and fauna, Pedal boat rides are 100 rs. Extra for 15 minutes. Please note that sometimes it can get crowded and then you will not be enjoying the views, I personally felt that there were many areas of improvement in the maintenance of the lake. The authorities, along with collecting the ticket money should also improve on the amenities and the overall maintenance of the park. Other activities inside the park are chargeable separately like archery. Over all it's a good experience if you have nothing else to do in Lansdowne.

Probably the best part of Landsdowne day tour, its about 40km from Landsdowne and takes abt. 2 hours to reach, and it gets very crowded and you may have to walk a bit to reach it, if crowd is much. Although place is cool throughout the day, better to visit early in summers. its about 100m walk downhill and path is covered with corrugated sheets. This Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is probably the only one in the area with a statue instead of Lingam. Extremely peaceful and serene place. We went on saturday and there was a bhandara with Poori, Potato gravy and halwa, which was piping hot and wonderful. There are huge trees and few have fallen down, makes for excellent pics. this area has wild Bichoo Grass or scorpion plant, which if you brush by, will give stinging sensation for sometime (pic attached)

I visited during the Shravan month on a Monday morning around 11 am — it wasn’t crowded, which made the experience even more special. The walk to the temple is scenic, and during monsoon, the greenery makes it absolutely magical. Perfect place for peace, devotion, and connecting with nature. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

Surrounded by dense forests of towering deodar (cedar) trees, the temple exudes a mystical charm that instantly calms your mind and soul. It's not just a religious site – it's an experience in itself. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the atmosphere here is deeply peaceful. Unlike most temples where you often find noise and crowds, here you’re greeted with silence, fresh mountain air, and the subtle sounds of nature – birds chirping, wind rustling through the trees, and distant temple bells. The setting is surreal, like something out of a Himalayan folk tale. 🚗 Reaching the temple is comfortable – the roads are in very good condition, especially for a hilly route. You can drive your car all the way to the top. The drive itself is scenic and enjoyable for those who love winding mountain roads. No issues even for family cars like Ertiga, Kia, etc. 🅿️ Parking is free, and there’s enough space available. To reach the main temple from the parking area, there is a short uphill trek through the forest. It’s not too difficult and completely worth it. As you walk through the tall trees with filtered sunlight falling on the forest floor, it feels almost meditative. The temple complex is simple, clean, and beautifully maintained. You’ll find people meditating, offering prayers, or just sitting in silence – and that’s the best part. The sense of calm and spiritual energy here is something that stays with you long after you leave. If you’re visiting Lansdowne, Tarkeshwar Mahadev is a must-add to your itinerary – whether you’re a devotee, nature lover, or just someone looking for peace. Tarkeshwar Mahadev is an ancient place situated in a valley about 30km off Lansdowne. The approach is quite scenic. We went under the impression that it was a Shiva temple but its dedicated to a saint who, in his time, fought against evil and used to punish the wrong doers. However, in an Uttarakhand Tourism inscription at the place it was mentioned that Parvati meditated here to "get Lord Shiva"! The person there told me that the place gets crowded during navraatris and there's an ashram very close by where one can stay for a few days by paying a few hundred rupees per day. There are very few eateries on the way to this place so make sure you have your own tit bits to consume. Although the ubiquitous maggie is available at the temple parking place. From the parking to the temple its a few hundred meters walk downhill. Saw an old person being taken in a wheelchair so make sure you are able to walk up and down with ease. But its not that big an issue. Just remember its a spiritual - religious place and not a touristy one. So go there for the peace and quiet, without expecting much.

The less crowded environment allowed for a more intimate and peaceful experience, making it easy to connect with the divine. The temple itself has historical significance, as it is known for its deep-rooted connection to Lord Shiva and is an important pilgrimage spot for devotees. The architecture and the surroundings resonate with spiritual energy, adding to the temple's sacred charm. *Things to know before visiting:* It’s important to dress modestly when visiting Tadkeshwar Temple. For women, covering the body with proper attire is a must, as respect for the temple's sacredness is essential. This also helps maintain the decorum of the holy site.
