Beautiful, humbling place. There was so much to experience from the Golden temple to the jora service to the langar service to the gold sewa workshop. The museums on-site are also there to serve as a reminder of the resilience that Sikhs have had to have to survive and become a large community. There are many gurudwaras and soravars (lakes) on-site to take amrat as well. To be able to sit under the trees that some of the Gurus had done so was also wonderful. A beautiful place to visit.

A divine place. I have almost zero knowledge of Sikhism. But when I stand in th3 queue for 4 hours that is when I felt the presence different energy. I have been to Kashi, Ujjain and every where u have to stand in queue. A lot of pushing touching, but here people are standing together with families but with pure energy and devotion to "Guru"🙏

Jakhu Temple (also Jakhoo Temple) is an ancient temple in Shimla,Himachal Pradesh, India, dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Hanuman. Cabs for temple are far away from mall road. Hence it is suggested not to take senior citizens and people having knee problems. 5. Once cabs drops you near temple there are stairs followed by escalator. 6. 20 rupees per person is the rate for 2 escalators which takes you to temple. Or one can go by stairs.

Visited Jakhu Temple in Shimla for Hanuman Ji’s darshan. We took a private van from the Clock Tower for ₹300 (up & down for two people), though there’s also an HRTC bus available for around ₹30 which comes every 30–50 minutes. There are a lot of monkeys around; they’re not harmful but you need to be careful with your belongings. Standing below the huge Hanuman statue and offering prayers felt truly divine and peaceful. A must-visit spot for a calm spiritual experience.”

A beautiful place to visit, weather it is with your beau, with friends or with your family. The serenity of the place is astonishing. The steps to Kempty falls is not so steep and is easily a short trek. The Kempty falls also provides a Ropeway cable for a price of Rs. 250/- per person (but all in cash) 😐. The snacks and food prices are a little steep but worth the climb. The Kempty falls also features boating area and a Drone camera facilities, on top of this, bathing facility is also there, where one can rent bathing suit for a price and enjoy.

Watching the sunrise in Mussoorie is truly one of the most magical experiences you can have in the hills. As the first light breaks over the mountains, the entire valley glows in shades of orange, pink, and gold — it’s absolutely breathtaking. Kempty falls is one of the best places to visit in Mussoorie. The water falls from quite a height and is rather a magnificent sight. The waterfall can be accessed by climbing down some 150 steps or by a ropeway. It is a series of falls and can be viewed from different levels. The approach to the fall has large uneven steps and is not well arranged or maintained. But there are a few places where you can bathe in the collected water. There are some food stalls around and you can sit and eat with your feet dangling in the cool water. 30-45 minutes should be enough to visit the place. Highly recommended.

I have vitnessed almost all famous aartis of GANGAJI at Haridwar and Rishikesh during the trip but Aarti at Triveni Ghat is One of the best Gangaji Aarti I have. View of Sunset is just refreshing. And only Aarti where everyone is allowed to do Aarti at Free of cost by the management. Management themselves provide Aarti thalis to many people and they shares thalis with each other so each and everyone can enjoy and participate at Aarti. And story doesn't ends here, Bhajan starts after Aarti and surely you will get goosebumps if you have vitnessed the joy. In short don't miss it if you are visiting Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Its a amazing experience to see ganga aarti there. Ghat is also good and clean. Maybe ut could be little bit crowded depending on any special occasion. But still it look peaceful.

Well managed. Entry is started at 5 pm for the Arti at 6 pm. Orderly queue is started at 5. People pay to offer 'special' puja, and they're allowed to/ are conducted fpr puja before the Aarti begins. It's well choreographed. Quite a spectacle.

A very beautiful place to be if you are spiritual. Usually a must visit when the Ganga Aarti happens. Usually during winters the Aarti happens at 5.30pm however it's important that you reach there 20 minutes earlier to get the front seats.

We were told by the locals that it's very beautiful at night with its lighting but as we weren't able to make time, so we visited in the morning, and we were still mesmerised. The temple is spread on a huge campus, the main temple building is majestic, and the sculptures of Krishnaleela are mesmerizing, each more beautiful than the one before... The temple is as beautiful inside as it is on the outside, with intricate details and some LED decorations. So my main point is, please don't miss this, even if you can't make it here during the evening.

Prem mandir, a relatively new temple of Vrindavan, was really nice and beautiful place. The premises is huge and can accommodate thousands of people at a time. Evening and night is the best time to visit this place for its beautiful lighting and beautiful statues and other idols outside. The inside decoration is also beautiful. Though it is much less important spiritually than other temples of Vrindavan, but still it attracts lakhs of tourists and pilgrims everyday for its beautiful architecture and decoration.

My overall experience at the Elephant Care Center was quite good. The environment is peaceful, and it’s heartening to see the care and effort put into the well-being of the elephants. One point to mention is the donation amount, which is ₹2,000 per person. While it may seem on the higher side for an educational tour, looking at it from a broader perspective, this contribution supports the center’s meaningful work. It helps provide better care, medical attention, and a safer space for these gentle animals. If you're someone who values animal welfare and wants to learn more about elephant conservation, it's definitely worth the visit.

Absolutely a most see whilst in India if you like elephants. This is a real rescue centre, no touching or feeding the animals is allowed. They allow the elephants to go for walks twice a day, 3-4 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. They are allowed to roam freely in the green space that surrounds the center. This is as close to freedom as they can safely manage, it was beautiful to see. If you do the morning trip at around 11am or the afternoon trip of 3pm you should catch a glimpse of the elephants outside in the fields. There is a very reasonably priced gift shop with all proceeds going towards the elephants. The staff are lovely, so informative and they genuinely care and work towards elephant conservation projects across the world.

Just visited the Wildlife Conservation Elephant Center in India, and it honestly left a mark on me. This place is home to rescued elephants who’ve lived through unthinkable pain years of captivity, abuse, and neglect at the hands of humans. Some were used for begging, others for labor or tourist rides. You can still see the physical scars and emotional trauma in their eyes. But what’s powerful is seeing how their stories have changed. Now, they’re in a space where they’re safe. They’re not being forced to perform or carry people. They’re finally free to roam, to rest, to just be. And the most beautiful part? They’re learning to trust humans again, thanks to the dedication and compassion of the team there. These elephants are finally getting the love and care they’ve always deserved. It’s a reminder that while humans are capable of causing deep harm, we’re also capable of healing, protecting, and doing better. If you ever get a chance to visit, go. See the change. It’s humbling, heartbreaking, and hopeful all at once.

We opted to visit this elephant conservation centre when our tour operator wanted to automatically book us for an elephant ride in Jaipur to Amber Fort. We declined the ride and opted for this educational experience instead. Would highly recommend visiting this reserve and seeing the important work they are doing to help the captive/poached/maltreated elephant population in this country. It was educational and eye opening for all of us, from age 8 to 58. It was a great opportunity to see the elephants close up but for good reason, the elephants here are not to be touched (as you will learn). This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and life changing for us all. Would highly recommend!

This was an unplanned trip - but I am glad that I went. I was returning to Delhi from Agra by car and it is on the way with a little detour. I have never been to an elephant sanctuary - that said this place was the highlight of my trip, spiritually and emotionally it topped the Taj Mahal surprisingly. I texted them on WhatsApp as it was a last minute trip and they were able to accommodate me. Poojan a wonderful young man met me at the gate. His passion is evident the whole 1.5 hours that I was there. He first explained the reason for their existence + short video. We then went to the field to visit the elephants - as it was around 4ish some of them went for their daily walks. I was fortunate to observe a an interaction session between an elephant (Priyanka) and her caretaker. I learnt about the plight of these gentle giants and the many wonderful people who are doing something about it - which u can read about on their website. The place is very well run - if I were an elephant who had been in captivity since young and not able to fend for myself, I would be want to be here. That’s the best way I can describe the great work that they are doing. One important thing to know is that we can’t touch them - they are only paired with their caretaker ; it takes time to build trust again. It’s a lovely place to bring children for early education and exposure. I hope you’ll enjoy your visit - and spread the word so that more can understand and support.

We went to this conservatory for a guided tour and had a truly meaningful and moving experience. We were awe-struck by the horrific treatment of elephants that are tamed for human entertainment/religion and the vital and challenging work this charity is doing to rescue them. Hearing the beautiful bitter-sweet stories of every elephant was one of the highlights of our trip to India. Seeing the elephants was a truly moving experience. If you have the chance, it is definitely worth a visit. Something worth noting is that this conservatory is not a place to touch an elephant or get a ride, but for a good reason. If you come here for a tour, the guide will explain to you why such entertainment for people is deeply traumatic to elephants. I hope that one day, all elephants get to receive the kind of care that this conservatory provides them with.

We booked 1 day in advance for a group of 11 intending for it to be a quick stop on the way back to Delhi from Agra. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Our whole group was very impressed with the work that Wildlife SOS was doing and the amount of time and care that goes into rehabilitating the elephants. Several people said this was a highlight of the trip to India so far. One piece of feedback, it would be great to see an option to sponsor an elephant on a monthly basis like a subscription, or some kind of recurring donation. The gift shop also had some beautiful items which also go towards supporting the organization.

Given the recent Yamuna floods, we were worried to miss out on this special experience, but were extremely fortunate that the waters receded in time for our visit. The soil was still rather damp, so sensible shoes are called for. We went just before sundown. This is the site where the Black Taj was supposed to have been erected. Climb the short wall to get elevated views of the rear of the Taj Mahal. A serene feeling to see the colours change from pale yellow to pink. To the left, is the Khwajasara's red sandstone haveli, an added bonus.

visited Mehtab Bagh with my wife, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful, beautiful spots in Agra. Walking through the garden just as the sun was rising (and later again near sunset), the atmosphere was quiet and soothing, and the view of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River felt like a gentle reveal of one of the world’s wonders. The reflection of the Taj in the garden’s ponds was magical, and every moment felt like a painting. We spent a good hour strolling, taking photographs, and breathing in the calm. The light was soft, the sky changing color, and the contrast of the garden’s greenery with the Taj’s marble in the distance was very photogenic. Afterwards, we found some local food nearby which was simple but delicious — it complemented the serenity of the place perfectly. The Diwan-i-Kam, Diwan-i-Khas, and the Sheesh Mahal are some of the highlights - they're all beautifully decorated with intricate designs and calligraphy. Worth going, lovely palaces and interesting history. We didn’t get a guide and we made do with the signs that are dotted about and it was fine! Inside guides were offering around 400 rupees for a tour if you were interested. We couldn’t pay by card at the counter, cheaper to buy tickets online than paying cash so would recommend doing that.

Truly one of India’s greatest heritage treasures! This place is of historical/ archeological relevance and it is a World Heritage Site. No wonder Aurangabad is the tourism capital of Maharashtra! Magnificent historical treasure. Must be on bucket list of all indians. One can finish the visit easily in a day from Aurangabad. There are two ways of reaching caves. One is beautiful mildly challenging trek of appx 1.5 km from Ajanta View point. One can park the car and take the trek to and fro to caves, this trek reaches directly at cave no. 8. Another option is the main entry 22 km more from this Ajanta View point, park own vehicle and take shuttle bus which will take you to caves. Inside caves, walk of 1-2 km with steps at many places is involved. At many caves, shoes are not allowed. Drinking water and toilets are available inside premises. Carry umbrella if you don't like the sun. The caves are worth your time and effort and it may take 2-3 hours to visit entire area.

Although the beach looked dirty but the joggers' path or the corniche area looked pretty decent. A lot of construction is still in progress to pave the walking path. Cleanliness needs to be improved. The life guards were not permitting visitors to go in the beach area as due to monsoon, the beach was rough. A lot of entries are there n ample parking space.

We used ours for food, and while the taste and quality were excellent 😋, the food items are a little on the expensive side 💸. The tour started with a short video and a factory walkthrough, where the process was explained in detail by their knowledgeable guide. This was followed by a tasting session of six different wines, one after another, which really helped us decide which wine to buy. It is the burial place of Aurangzeb’s first wife, Rabia-ud-Durrani, built by Aurangzeb and later repaired by his son Prince Azam Shah between 1651 n 1661 AD. It bears a striking resemblance to the Taj Mahal, the mausoleum of Aurangzeb's mother, Mumtaz Mahal, which is why it is also called the Taj of the Deccan. It is situated in the heart of Aurangabad (now Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar) city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Bibi Ka Maqbara is a fine example of Mughal design infused with local artistry. I went on Sunday so I was waiting for 4 hrs in queue. Although, there is a special pass entry available to save your time and have a quick darshan. The place and market area seems to be always busy. Overall best experience. Recommended to everyone to feel the energy. Also this place is located in a hilly area surrounded by greenery, dam & mountains from all over the side. So riding till this place through the mountains, forests and passing by small beautiful village makes your journey most scenic and beautiful. Definately enjoyed the climate. Accomodations are available from reasonable to luxury rates as it is one of the Jyotirlinga. One of the best getaway place to take a break from city life and feel the slow living life of villages.

Trimbakeshwar Temple is a very beautiful and peaceful place. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, which is located in Nashik, Maharashtra. Beautiful temple ❤️ You can surely get goosebumps while visiting this place. The temple is surrounded with large mountains called bramhagiri. The temple has both free and paid darshans. If you have patience and if you think you can wait for more than 4-5 hours you can choose free dharshan this is on weekend. Otherwise you can choose 200 special dharshan. In 200 ticket you can go little faster as the Q line is less compared to free dharshan But once you enter into the temple everyone as same dharshan access and entrance. So, it's depends on people to take the 200 ticket dharshan. Once you enter into the temple you need to be more focused and concentrated while visiting the lord jyotirlinga as the lingam is deep inside. They arranged mirror in reflection form so that you can look at the top. But try to watch directly. Regarding stay there is Sai Udyan trust is available where they will give one doremetry bed and one locker for 15 rupees per day. If you are comfortable in this type stay you can go there, its clean and well maintained.

There are many gates to enter the temple but if you want to have a free darshan then enter from gate no. 7. The charge for VIP darshan is 200 rupees. You have to deposit your mobile in the clock room where the charge is 5 rupees per phone. You get darshan in 30 minutes. The management is very good, there is a provision to sit in the line inside and there is also a washroom and there is also a provision for many fan coller..

Shirdi Sai Baba Temple is a peaceful and divine place to visit. Near Gate 6, you’ll find mobile lockers available for just Rs 5 per phone, along with free shoe stands. For free darshan, head to Gate 7, which you can reach from Dwarkamai Temple, if Dwarkamai is in front of you, go left and take the first right. You’ll pass the mobile lockers first, and then Gate 7 is right there. On weekends, the wait time for free darshan is usually around 3 hours, and the entire process can take 3-4 hours. We also visited once on a Monday morning around 6 AM, and it only took about 1.5 to 2 hours for the complete Darshan. If you prefer paid darshan, you can either book online in advance or book near temple, enter through Gate 6 when you arrive. Wait time is much lesser than free Darshan but it'll still take almost 2 if crowded. Inside the temple, there is usually some waiting time before darshan, so visitors are asked to sit in waiting halls. Opposite these halls, there’s a counter where you can get free unlimited tea and biscuits. They also sell chips and water at prices much lower than market rate. After darshan, don’t forget to pick up your free food coupons next to the neem tree. Near the exit, you will also receive packets of prasad and vibhooti. Additionally, there’s a laddu counter near the lendi garden entry, opposite the neem tree, where you can get the famous Shirdi laddu.

Planning your visit will help in many ways for Sai Baba darshan. Off day one can avoid rush. You can buy online tkts for darshan and it works great. There will still be good walk inside however, better than standing in a long queue. There is seperate line for senior citizen so if you have elderly please use that. It is better to get your tkt for paid darshan printed. The entrance unlike any other temples is well maintained and not overly crowded. The parking, mobile phone and footwear is all taken care at the place. Please note mobile phones are not allowed and have to be kept in lockers or just keep in the car. The staff is helpful and guide you around. The inside of the temple is par or even better than any other place in foreign country. Museum is nice and must see. There are other temples shiva ling, Ganesha when you exit towards gate 3. The entire place is well maintained. I was thrilled to see that in India we have such place to visit specially worship place like this one for Sainath.

I am a serving person coming for Darshan all the way from punjab. Honest review is the place is sarine, however, the shop attatched in pic is a fraud or may be one of the frauds who will trick you to park vehicle in front of his shop in exchange of buying a puja thali in which only the Phool mala is allowed in and the devotee realises he gas been hoodwinked once he passes tgrough the security check in. The pile of such items at the gate assured that I am not the only one fallen for the trap. I can only suggest and request to buoycot such shops.For reference, this one is in the road just opposite to the senior citizen gate.

Tiger Point in Lonavala is a calm and peaceful spot, perfect for spending some relaxing time. The view is truly enjoyable, especially when it’s cloudy or raining. On a sunny day, it might feel a bit uncomfortable due to the heat and sweat, but otherwise it’s a great experience. There is ample parking space available, and plenty of local shops around offering tea, coffee, maggi, fruits, and other snacks. A nice place to stop by if you’re visiting Lonavala.

Absolutely ridiculous experience. You have to climb all the way up from Lonavla city just to see this view. The view is lovely but not as worth it to come. This place must be crowded in the monsoons due to waterfalls but I think it would not be great to visit in monsoons as well. I did not get why this is called as the lions point. Seriously! The worst part is that the staff took ₹50/- for parking. We just stayed for around 5 min but still. They should keep a time limit of the parking of vehicles. Even though it was Diwali, the crowd was well-managed, and devotees were able to move around comfortably thanks to the efficient security personnel. One small improvement could be providing a tap or facility to wash hands, as we place our chappals on the stand with bare hands. Overall, the temple is well-organized, spiritually uplifting, and a must-visit for anyone coming to Pune.

There is also a regular darshan queue behind the temple where you can go without a pass. • Photography is not allowed inside the temple. If you wish to take pictures, you must visit the temple office and get proper permission first. • There is a shoe rack facility available where you can safely keep your footwear and get a token. Sinhagad Fort turns absolutely magical during the monsoon. The entire trek is surrounded by lush green hills, misty clouds, and waterfalls along the way - it feels like walking through the clouds! The cool breeze, the smell of wet soil, and the panoramic views from the top make it an unforgettable experience. If you're trekking, start early in the morning to enjoy the foggy views and avoid crowds. Don't miss the famous kanda bhaji (onion fritters), pithla-bhakri, and chaas from the small stalls near the top - they taste heavenly after the climb! Parking can get a bit tricky on weekends, and it can get slippery in places, so wear good shoes. But overall, Sinhagad during monsoon is pure bliss - perfect for nature lovers, trekkers, and photographers.

There is lot of eateries for small snacks neare stairs and at the top. Small reasturants where you can enjoy home made lunch made by local people. Food Not too expensive. Enjoyable place. You can take your own food also. Better to carry water.

- I visited Sinhagad in November and it was really an awesome experience. - There are PMT buses after every 1 hour from Shaniwarwada to Sinhagad [convenient to take before 1pm]. - Two wheelers also available for a day to ride nearby area. - Make sure to meet the locals, eat the food on Sinhgad and feel the power of Maratha on fort. - Very beautifull and easy fort to climb and convenient for children also.

Sinhagad Fort is demotic in the history of the Maratha Empire, featuring the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj . It houses many representations (statues/busts) and even weapons related to them. The surrounding scenery is quite captivating, and the climb (trek) time to the fort offers very beautiful views. Trekking is too here. Visiting during the monsoon is highly recommended as the area is lush green and the weather is pleasant, though it gets very crowded on weekends. At the fort gates, various food items are available, such as roasted corn (bhutta), Vada Pav, Kanda Bhaji (onion fritters), tea, and Maggi (noodles), which delicious. The sunrise and sunset views from the fort are quite spectacular. The cleanliness here is well-maintained, and washroom facilities are also available. Overall, the experience is full of natural beauty and the joy of a wonderful, captivating atmosphere.

Good trecking points are there. Apart from Nanaji statue and memorial, not much construction is there. Only the remnants of the exterior of the fort is available. But it is well maintained. Very good ethnic food varieties available inside, provided by locals, though slightly EXPENSIVE. Overall worth going.

Visited yesterday.This is one the best places in mahabaleshwar. Need to pay entry fees to start journey before this point. After this you need to pay 50/- for parking. Try to visit this place in evening to get a good view of sunset. You can take horse ride, boat ride, game shows, activity games and some tasty food items. Try to take horse ride with photoshoot. . Main market and mapro garden is near from this. Good place for spending time. Boating charge 600 for 4 person for 30min.

During the rainy season, the place becomes filthy and muddy, and the hygiene is below average. The nearby horse stand adds to the mess — the area is dirty and full of people constantly chasing you for rides. They charge around ₹200 for just 500 meters, which is absolutely not worth it. Parking is another headache — very congested and disorganized. Overall, this is just one of those places you visit once to tick it off your list, not for the experience itself.

It is one of the most scenic attractions in Mahabaleshwar. Beautiful lake surrounded by hills. Great for boat rides while watching the sunset. We went during May end , so the evening breeze by the lake was so soothing. Gets extremely crowded during peak tourist season. There are ample parking spots, but due to the rush of tourists, it is very difficult to find a parking spot nearby. I have seen families walk a considerable distance from their parking area to reach the lake. It all depends upon whether you get a parking or not , if you have a driver, they may drop you at a distance. Apart from this, the lake vicinity has different activities like boat riding , horse riding, etc, and way too many fast food joints selling all kinds of food and drinks. There are fruit vendors , toy vendors , and so many shop keepers all around. If you just want to sit by the lake and watch the sunset amidst all the cacophony , come a bit early and sit a little away from the main entrance point.

We went to Mahabaleshwar hoping to enjoy the rainy season. Packed all our rain gear, umbrellas, jackets, even plastic covers for bags. But as soon as we reached… the rain just disappeared! Not even a single drop! It was like the rain said, “Okay, my job is done. You guys take care now.” Instead, we were welcomed by thick clouds everywhere. Couldn’t see much ahead while driving – the fog was like “peekaboo!” every few minutes. But honestly, the cloudy weather made the whole place look magical. The valleys, trees, and hills covered in clouds looked straight out of a movie scene. We missed the rain, but the cool weather and peaceful vibes made up for it. Sitting on a hilltop with hot chai and roasted corn in that fog… pure bliss. It felt like the clouds came just to give us a cozy hug. So yeah, Mahabaleshwar didn’t give us rain, but it gave us something better — quiet, calm, and some unforgettable views. Highly recommend going there if you want a break from all the city noise. Just… don’t chase the rain. It’s faster than it looks!

Visit during monsoon. When we visited there were rains but not heavy downpours. It should be drizzling not heavy rains, if there is heavy rain then the entire place is covered in fog, it would be difficult to drive in the fog in the hill station and also some view points will be closed. Hotels, restaurants and taxi service , bus services are available within Mahabaleshwar and to reach as well multiple bus or cab services available. Weekends will be too crowded, There are 3 temples at the hill top and they are a must visit.

-Get down at main entrance, we mistakenly had dropped down backside gate. -Senior citizens are allowed to sit in the entrance if any large queue was there. -Inside temple, womens are separately in queues to have Darshan as its Mahalaxmi Temple. -Drinking water facility available when you come out of Darshan. -Several shops available inside for shopping devotional items. -Peda Prasad nearby exit of Darshan is the cheap and best which was sold by local guys. -Also, Laddu Prasad sold by Temple committee. -Best part is free Bhojanalaya as like in Shirdi was available and taste was very good. (Variety Rice, sabhji, butter milk, sweet.) -Timing 12PM to 3PM -This is located in backside of temple which is of 50m distance from temple. -Free Tokens are given in main entrance and backside gate. -Volunteers/Members inside Bhojanalaya strictly instructs all devotees to not waste food. One should complete his/her food and allowed to get up for handwash. - Plates for children were asked there parents before giving in order avoid wastage of food. - But this Bhojanalaya is present in 1st floor, which is a very big minus point for those where not able to step up. - Footwears are to be kept outside Bhojanalaya.

Beautiful and very very old temple. Powerful vibes can be experienced. Crowded throughout the day. We had gone in the afternoon and early morning and both times the temple was crowded. We were blessed to have a security officer help us out of the blue as my mom couldnt stand and wait in the queue for long hours. The place is very good and historical importance. Road to reach the spot are narrow , but there are road for cars to go. Don't rely on local rikshaw guys they will fool for money . Once you reach there .take proper govt approved guide he will show you around .everting is walking distance . It's beautiful in morning and early evening ..

Beautiful architecture that makes you so proud to know the legacy of this nation and is history. We took a female guide - Munira ( can't remember her name) who explained everything really well. The most amazing nugget is how everything has been carved from one rock. Even the ceilings have intricate and mesmerizing sculptures/carvings...all done with a simple hammer and chisel. It was humbling and a matter of pride. I do hope the government takes steps to both preserve the monuments and to get the world heritage tag. The surrounding area is peaceful. Just keep a lookout for the monkeys - they won't do anything unless you happen to have food packets with you. The guides will give you a full tour of all 4 caves. There's a fair bit of climbing and some of the steps near the 3rd cave are steep. But do try not to miss the 3rd cave as the carvings are utterly breathtaking

One of the best monuments I have visited in my life... Very fine encarvings in the caves and all the sculpture represent a unique story in itself and it tells us our ancient history and culture. The scenery around the Agastya lake and bhutnath temple is so much beautiful and it gives a calmness and serenity in your busy life.
