The ladies toilet is horrible. The door has no lock and the glass door is transparent and people can see someone through the glass door clearly. What's so bothering me is the janitor's room just beside the toilet. It's not safe for ladies and children going alone to use the toilet.

One of the most popular tour destinations in Blitar regency. Penataran temple is very good heritage we need to preserve. The view is great which remind us to kingdom era. Unfortunately, there are missing parts of this temple, such as statues. We can find many shops here.

Penataran Temple is the biggest temple in east java and located is in Blitar Regency, theres no need to pay when you are visit this temple but you just only need to fill guest book and parking 5k for motorcycle, the area of this temple are not too big like Borobudur or Prambanan so you can enjoy strolling around without exhausting haha also you can found lots of stalls that sells food, souvenir and many more (idk about the price, better you ask first)🛕

Penataran Temple is the largest Hindu-Javanese temple complex in East Java. This temple complex is a legacy of 3 great ancient Hindu-Javanese kingdoms, was built in Blitar for over 200 years, which its construction began in 1194 the period of Kediri Kingdom, continued in 1208 the period of Singasari Kingdom, and finished in 1415 the period of Majapahit Kingdom. Known as Penataran Temple, which "penataran" means to teach, this temple complex become the place for anyone who wants to learn about the life in the ancient Hindu-Javanese kingdoms era. This temple complex is divided into 3 large parts which represent an integral philosophy and values ​​inherent in every ancient Hindu-Javanese teachings and beliefs. Those 3 parts namely: -The front / lower part where there is the Bale Agung for a gathering place and the Pendopo Teras for a place to put offerings. -The middle part where there are two temples consists of one temple in form of a pointed monument with the statue of Ganesha (the god of wisdom) inside it as an embodiment of "lingga" / male and one temple in form of a hole monument surrounded by the ornament of dragon lifted by 9 kings (the number of gods which rule all the directions in the universe) as an embodiment of "yoni" / female. -The back / top part where there is the largest temple is called the Palah Temple which is carved by the relief of the Ramayana story, the Palah Inscription written in ancient Javanese script by Mpu Amogeswara or Mpu Taluluh, and a "petirtaan" or holy water spring. Penataran Temple complex was used to be a place both for worshipping the gods and consecrating the kings. It is the biggest temple in East Java. It is used for Hindus devotees to pray. Actually there is no ticket for the visitors. You just need to pay cleaning service fee as you wish. No fixed fee. When I and my students went there, there was no guide available. The security guard just recommended us to read the information board and went around by ourselves. Yeah, it was okay but it would be more interesting if there was a guide that be able to tell you many hidden stories about this Hindu temple. If you want to have some meals or buy souvenirs here, don't worry. In the outside of the temple, you may find them easily. Let's visit Candi Penataran!

I really recommend visiting Museum Angkut, it’s absolutely worth it! The place is huge, very clean, and well-organized with so many amazing vintage cars on display. What impressed me most is that the cars are not just for show, most of them are still in excellent condition and can actually start, the engines are well-maintained. The museum opens at 11, and they also have exciting car shows with drifting. The schedule is at 1 PM, 4 PM, and 6 PM, and it’s really fun to watch. Inside the museum, there are many resting areas where you can stop, relax, and enjoy before continuing the tour. After finishing the museum, you get an incredible view of Mount Kawi, standing tall and beautiful in the background, a perfect ending to the experience. 🎟️ Ticket price: 110k Overall, an amazing experience for car lovers and families alike! 🚗✨

A must-visit museum when in Batu. It showcases various forms of transportation, and we can experience travelling around the world in a single day—from Asia and Europe to the USA. Every afternoon, there’s an entertaining show on Broadway Street. No need to worry about going hungry, as a Floating Market awaits at the end of the museum tour.

The place is quite big but the condition is great. There are lots of areas that need lotsa time to enjoy urself taking pictures. There's a cafe inside and musolla for Muslim is also available (at China country area) If u wish to watch the live show, u need to take ur lunch first, then u enter the museum . The live show starts at 3.15pm and there's another 2 more shows available. Wish to repeat this place again.

This is a very cool museum, when you enter there is the entrance tickets, cost 110k for holiday season. As you enter there will be a lot of classic cars such as shelby cobras, military willys jeeps, and etc. Then there will be a lot more things to do, i’m not going to spill all hehe. But promise you that this place is cool, there is a festival in gangster city, food places that have es potong durian, etc. Overall, solid 9.3/10

Great place, but for kids. please mind that if you're height not 120-140cm you only play little vehicles. It means you better buy ticket only not the full ticket package. because the officer will not explain it to you 😔... And I don't know why, we can only play once the vehicle, if you want more you need to buy ticket 😓.

Easy to locate! Went on a Sun night and it wasn’t too packed! Mostly locals, not much tourists so felt like a really authentic experience. A good mix of thrilling and chill rides, the weather was perfect for a night out here. Got the all access pass for 120k IDR and spent about 2 hours here. They had stalls selling drinks, snacks and a food court with live shows at selected timings. Definitely drop by if you’re in Batu!

The place isn't very big, but it has lots of rides—from kids to adults, everything’s pretty complete. I suggest checking what you want to try first, so you can decide if the all-access ticket is worth it. If you're not planning to try many rides, it's better to get regular tickets and pay for each ride. Kereta Terbang felt really fast and a bit scary—it looked like it might hit the signs because everything felt so close! 😅

While there may not have been a large number of attractions at night, there were definitely enough to keep our kids thoroughly entertained.

Would recommend doing it in the afternoon around 2-3 pm, we used the villagers’ path to avoid the park entrance fee. The hike down the path was slightly slopey, but once you reach the sea of sand it is all flat and sandy it’s a fairly easy walk.

The journey started early before dawn the air was cold, the stars still shining, and the excitement building with every step. As the sky slowly turned from deep blue to shades of pink and gold, the view of Bromo’s smoky crater appeared, surrounded by rolling hills and mist. It felt unreal, like standing on another planet. Watching the sunrise from the viewpoint was pure magic — the sun peeked over the horizon, lighting up the sea of clouds and painting the volcano in gold. The wind was cold, but the moment was warm with awe and peace. Every second felt worth the early wake-up and the climb. Mount Bromo isn’t just a place you visit it’s an experience you feel. The sound of the wind, the smell of sulfur, the endless view of nature’s power and beauty truly legendary. 🌋✨

no words, only emotions...We started early from Surabaya, then continued by jeep through the misty Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The highlight — a breathtaking sunrise above the clouds, followed by a scenic jeep ride and a hike to the crater of Mount Bromo itself.

If you are in Surabaya, you must climb Bromo. Best to go for a sunrise hike. The mountains and the view from the vantage point is incredible. It's such an amazing mountain with incredible folklore. This is a sacred mountain so please do not litter (there were a lot in the surroundings). There is also an altar of Ganesha where you can make offerings. There are also plenty of peddlers selling snacks and drinks. The climb is actually easy for physically fit people. But do note that there is a steep staircase climb to reach the mouth of the volcano. Alternatively, you may opt to rent a horse ride. In all, it's a must visit place.

Mt. Bromo is a stunning place and definitely worth visiting, BUT... It's not well maintained, polluted and not much is invested into it's environment. See the picture how the fence around the crater looks like... Not very safe. I went during the day and it was not crowded. And obviously the horses don't get enough food. The horse ride is really not necessary...

Beautiful crater and beautiful view of the sandy sea. Access by scooter or Jeep. Scooter parking 5000 rupees but you can park it in the same place as the Jeep (free). Then walk 10/15 minutes to get to the bottom of the stairs to climb the Mont. Entrance to the Mount = 250,000 rupees per person. Exorbitant and shameful price. HORSE ABUSE!!! Stop renting horses because you don't want to walk 15 minutes !!! Shame on Indonesians and tourists!!

I booked with a local tour group and had an amazing experience at Mt Bromo. The tour starts around midnight and we arrived at the viewpoint by 3 am to wait for the sunrise. The wait was a bit long since the sun comes up closer to 5 am and it was chilly, but you can rent a blanket for 25,000 IDR. The sunrise over Mt Bromo is absolutely breathtaking and the jeep ride through the desert to get there was exciting on its own. Our guides were wonderful and made everything smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Mt Bromo.

As an experienced hiker I can tell you it’s not to hard except to the summit. I believe it’s about 900 m elevation to the top and all thru the volcanic sand which is like one step up and slide a half step back. You will start most likely in the night between 12am -3am depending on your shape and pase. It’s Getting cold in the night while hiking up so have the right clothes with you. View is Just insane, semeru erupts approximately every 15 minute, sometimes it takes up to 90 minutes and then the explosion and smoke will be bigger.

This is the best and most beautiful mountain in Indonesia for who loved adventure and hard tracks! You must try to summit and you will be able to try again and you will not never to forget how beautifully this place!

What you can ask for the best yet highest mountain in java island. The trip will take 16-20 hours of hiking. You can camp on ranu kumbolo on the first day and camp on kalimati on second day, and then go summit at late night on second day / early morning on third day. There are a lot of beautiful view that will satisfied your eyes, from basecamp to summit. Preparation should be extra for this hiking, eventho there are porter and warung on every post and campsite, there are toilet on ranukumbolo and kalimati, ranukumbolo toilet is fine but dont expect to much on kalimati. Watersource available on ranu kumbolo and near kalimati.

This was my first time experience for hiking. I couldn't say that is easy for the first timer. So, if you are first timer maybe you can try another easy-to-reach-mountain. I think the landscape is still okay from the starting point to Kalimati. But, the hardest part is from Kalimati to the mountain peak. From the starting point, it took around 2 days to reach the top of the mountain, depend on your ability. I need a lot of short break and camping in Ranukumbolo and Kalimati. Believe me, if you visit Ranukumbolo, you want to comeback again someday. During the hiking, the temperature is freaking cold, especially at night. I couldn't sleep well because of this even if I wore proper clothes and covered myself with sleeping bag. Since hiking become a popular activity in Indonesia, mountain especially in Java is more crowded than before. Badly, I decided to hike Semeru Mountain during long weekend. So, it was super crowded!!! Honestly it made me uncomfortable a little bit.

During my stay in Indonesia I did 4 hikes but the Mount Semeru hike was the most challenging and rewarding by far! 2 days trek with awesome guide from Our Trip 1st tour operator. Day 1 is relatively easy arou d 10 km and 500 meter prominence during 6 hours. Day 2 starts at night and is around 5 km climb with 1,000 meters prominence at steep and rocky slope of Semeru. Headlamp wrongly recommend and one has to be really careful with falling rocks - apparently every year people get injured and die this way. The view on Mount Bromo and Java is very rewarding.

It is the highest mountain in java island. The starto volcano also known as mahameru, meaning "The Great Mountain". The name derived from the Hindu-Buddhist mythical mountain of Meruor Sumeru, The abode of gods. If you wanna hike to the top, the you gotta give everything you have.

We had a great time visiting Madakaripura Waterfall! I came with my two kids and was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty kid-friendly. The track is beginner-friendly and manageable, though there are a few slightly tricky parts – nothing too difficult, especially with a guide or some help. The scenery is breathtaking, and the waterfall itself is stunning. The water is clean, clear, and refreshing. Just make sure to bring raincoat – you will get wet! 🌿 Even if you don’t, the locals also sell it. One tip: bring some cash and wear shoes that are suitable for trekking and okay to get wet – you’ll definitely need them. A wonderful nature adventure for families!

Fyi, you’ll be amazed seeing this view. I’ll suggest you to come between June-August because the guide said that it was the most beautiful moment to visit waterfall. I gave 5 stars for the services, the cleaness and ofc for the hospitality. My guide was Pak Uyik, he’ll help you to cross the stream and took a lots of photos. Thanks for the experience Madakaripura! I’ll visit again between that months so, I can get a better view 🫶🏼

You’ll read a lot of scam about the place. In fact we really had to pay 150 k rupees per person (around 8 euro) for a short motorbike ride to the rainfall and got helmets and a local guide who brought us to the place. The money was more than worth it! You’ll get really wet, prepare!

Very beautiful and unbelievable. At first we just walked but when we noticed it was far away we just get a guide, and dont let them force you to pay huge money on guides if you dont want to pay it. (it is probably not mandotory but after a hard negatitonship, we just take the guide anyways because it was far away to walk.) Definitely bring sliper or open shoes and some raincoat or smth. But after all, it was worth to see.

An absolutely breathtaking view, truly the most stunning waterfall I’ve ever witnessed. The journey to get there was fairly manageable. The hike was around 30 mins from the locket, with mostly flat tracks, a few shallow river crossings, and a couple of mild inclines. Nothing too demanding, especially with a guide and safety gear like helmets provided. Important tip: always check the weather forecast before your visit. When it rains, access to the waterfall is strictly prohibited due to the serious risk of landslides and flash floods. It’s better to postpone your trip than to put yourself in danger.

From the parking to the base took 5minutes ride by motorcycle. Then, 30mins hike to madakaripura waterfall We could only spent an hour because we arrived late.. We reached there around 3.45pm. entrance closing time 4pm.. But less crowd and easy to get spot for photo.. The water was really cold. Superb nice waterfall, will come early next time. Worth the visit.

Definitely one of the most amazing waterfalls I've ever seen in my life and I've seen lots. Truly a majestic sight for the eyes ❤️✨ The trekking is very very easy for a beginner and kaum rebahan jaman now. But the steps to the waterfall were quite slippery so tourists must be careful. In my experience, the entrance, guide, helmet and ojek fee was reasonable and the local people there were quite friendly and polite. We paid for IDR 410,000 total for 6 pax. Before we left, we had lunch in "warung makan mbak anis" and it was definitely the highlight of the day. The sambal was top notch, everything was as requested; they spicyness and everything. Then we had a whole coconut as a dessert which put the cherry on top to the whole experience of visiting Madakaripura. Recommended 😊😍

The entrance fee is quite expensive at 25,000 IDR. The tourist attraction itself is actually very nice and has great potential, but unfortunately it seems poorly maintained, especially in terms of cleanliness. It needs more attention and improvement to make it more comfortable for visitors.

We arrived here at 04.30 am to catch sunrise. Though it was cloudy but the beautiful sunrise still came out beautifully. We parked our car near Vihara and had to walk a bit far to reach Siti Hinggil sea view. It was breath-taking-ly beautiful. And this is claimed to be the most beautiful beach in Jember.

The view is nice, cleanliness should be improved, cannot swim there because of the waves. There are villas for rent, but I don’t know about the rate. The grilled fishes are delicious, and quite cheap. Love it.

Beautiful and fairly clean beach. Unfortunately rough and damaged road will deter any casual visitor to reach there. Bring your own food and beverage is also essential since there aren't many higienic food stalls available.

Red Island Beach is a beautiful beach in Banyuwangi. the location is far from the city but it worth every second in here. the tickets is about 10K for motor and you can enjoy while eating your food with your family.

The beach is clean and feels authentic, not overly commercial like many others. Don’t forget to support the local ibu-ibu by trying their products: dragonfruit sweets, steamed bananas, and delicious rujak manis.

Not easy to go here, wake up early at 2m to move to the base of the mountain, 3-4 hours trekking to the top of Ijen. As long as you don't give up, you can reach there. If you can't trek for longer, don't worry, they have special taxi service to carry you there 😆

Spectacular! We chose to start our walk to the top of Ijen at about 6am, this is due to the desire of avoiding the masses of people that try to get there for sunrise (which can be unpredictable), the lake itself becomes more colourful as the sun gets higher in the sky. We got to plod along at our pace, enjoyed panoramic views with very few clouds, practically no-one else around, it was a perfect experience.

What an amazing experience and such a beautiful place to visit. Overall we spent a total of 4hr 30mins to climb the mountain, visit the crater and then come back. The climb up the mountain is steep and is uphill the majority of the way. Then to go down to the crater, it’s mainly rocks and dirt and is quite slippy. It was very very busy when we went, we got held up for a long time trying to get down to the crater, so be prepared. The blue fire was amazing to see, but surrounded by tourists as you would expect. Also avoid the sulfur smoke because it causes your eyes to water and can make you cough, even through the mask. They also ask at the bottom if you want to hire a coat- do NOT do this if you have a jumper or jacket already. We hired a coat and we took it off within 5mins of walking, amongst everything else we were wearing. The walk gets so hot as it’s all uphill. People were shirtless and in shorts by the time we got to the top. Additionally, you will be surrounded by tourists which block out the cold. Overall, this was quite a difficult trek, but 100% worth it. Make sure you wear good shoes.

One of the most thrilling experiences while visiting Indonesia. We stayed at Gilimanuck. The hike starts around 2 AM. Gas masks, sweaters, hiking sticks, etc. are available for rent from the starting point. For those who are unable to trek the 4 km hike, trolleys are provided by the locals. The 1 km descent to the lake shore is only possible on foot. The stunning green acid lake and blue fire offer a magnificent view. The active volcano with erupting sulphur produces a strong odour. Artworks made of sulphur are available as souvenirs from the site. The sunrise from the rim of the crater is a great view.

The trail was quite crowded, especially during the time I went — it was clearly a very touristy period, and honestly, there were a bit too many people. That took away from the peaceful vibe I was hoping for. Because of the crowd, I chose not to go down to see the famous blue flames. It felt unsafe — people were pushing to get down, and it didn’t seem worth the risk. Still, the view from the top was absolutely stunning. The bright blue crater lake was breathtaking, even from above. The sunrise was partially hidden by fog, but it actually gave the whole scene a mysterious, magical feel. We were lucky with the wind direction too — we barely needed our gas masks, as the sulfur fumes weren’t too strong that morning. If you’re planning to go, definitely bring a flashlight, sunglasses, and good hiking shoes. Despite the crowd, it’s one of those rare places that truly lives up to the hype — a must-see at least once in your life.

Beautiful and definitely worth doing — but you have to accept that you’ll be doing it alongside more than a thousand other tourists. Most people start the hike around 2 AM, so it gets crowded, and there’s often a traffic jam on the way down to the blue fire. Still, it’s quite an experience — a bit dangerous, but the sunrise and the mysterious blue flames make it all worthwhile.

Very beautiful blue mountain flames. Must prepare well with full coverage eye goggles and as well as the filter mask. It’s worth the trip and the climb. Must reach before 5am, the flame fades after that. Sulphur gas smells strong. The blue lake visible after 5am. The view when going down the mountain is fantastic too

The highlight of the park is the wide Bekol Savannah, where visitors can spot deer, peacocks, water buffaloes, and if lucky, even the endangered Javan leopard or banteng (wild cattle). The scenery, especially during sunrise and sunset, feels almost like being on a safari in Africa. Another must-visit spot is Bama Beach, a quiet coastal area inside the park with clear waters and mangrove forests. It’s perfect for relaxing after exploring the savannah, and snorkeling here reveals vibrant coral reefs and marine life.

My wish list has been fulfilled. Finally, I can visit Baluran National Park. A National Park like in Africa. To enter the national park, you have to report and pay for a ticket. Payment is cashless, so prepare your gadgets. There are several tourist stopping spots for taking pictures. 1. At the acacia tree, 2. in the NP animal skull area, 3. Bekol Savanna with Mount Baluran in the background, 4. Bama Beach. It is best to come to Baluran National Park in the morning or afternoon. The animals usually come out to look for food. In the afternoon, you can also see the sunset. If you visit the NP, please always comply with the applicable rules. Prepare sunscreen and personal protective equipment from the heat of the sun. It was a pleasure to come here. Hopefully, I can come here again

One of hidden gem in Java. Located at the Situbondo - Banyuwangi border (but the entire are in Situbondo). This place is also known as "Africa van Java". You could found some wild animal like bulls and monkeys (be careful with your belonging because sometimes the monkeys could steal it). It's better to come here in the summer or dry season (in the rainy season the savanna would be greener, but still looks good😁). I came here with a motorbike so we could see the very beautiful view😍

Great place to healing. Get lost for a while ( karena vibes ga kyk di indonesia , pun ga ada signal provider apapun once nyampe di savana ) Coming here on monday at 10.00 AM , not too crowded but it’s surprisingly hot 🥵 Great experience!

Second time visiting this national park. It wasnt so busy on my first visit in 2018, but now, there are a lot of jeep tours, also due to many rain this year, the savanna is not used to be, it’s greeny and a bit wet now. But when sun is setting down, we saw groups of deer gathering in the middle of savanna, also monkeys and even Javanese Bull! It was truly an Indonesian safari experience! We stopped by on the beach side and had a local food; soto rujak, it was delicious! So if you want to visit, i recommend to visit just before the sunset to see all animals moving around the park.

Baluran is a great park for wildlife watching or birding with many beautiful landscapes. I do a lot of wildlife watching and photography around the world, and I thought overall this park is top notch, it might just require a little more effort and careful timing if wildlife is your goal. I visited for 4 days in early Oct 2025. I stayed near the park and drove a rented scooter in every day. Here are some things the park is great for, and some drawbacks: Landscapes: There is a good diversity of landscapes within the park, on the drive in, you see a lot of tropical dry forest with some wetter/greener forests deeper within the park. There is also the very dry and open savannah region and a lot of mangroves and forest near the beach. There is really just one road through the park to the beach, and not much opportunity for hiking, so if your primary focus is seeing the landscape, you could see everything in one day. Wildlife: You can see lots of green peacocks, wild buffalo, deer, langur monkeys, wild pigs and hornbills (near Bama beach), but timing matters a lot. If you are interested in seeing wildlife, you should either go by yourself, like I did, or do a tour that visits the park in the evening. I spent all day in the park, and I can tell you that if you are on a tour that goes through the park any time from 9AM-3PM, you aren't going to see much in terms of wildlife because it's too hot, and the animals are in the forests where it's cooler. As soon as it starts to cool down, you will see loads of deer, peacocks and other animals emerge onto the savannah and start crossing the roads in other areas. My biggest complaint about this park is that it opens too late in the morning. Unfortunately the park doesn't open until 7:30AM, which means by the time you get your entry ticket and drive into the park, it's already getting hot, and you've really missed the best wildlife watching period of the day. You will still be able to catch the tail end of the morning period, and you can see a lot in the evening, but for a wildlife-focused park, it's frustrating that they don't let people into the park earlier. Most of the wildlife-focused parks I've visited in North America or Africa open much earlier, because they understand that this is prime-time for wildlife. Again, you can see a lot of great wildlife in the park, but if you want to see wildlife, and you are taking a tour from Banyuwangi, make sure the tour doesn't leave the park too early in the day, otherwise you will likely be disappointed. I expected to see a lot of Banteng in the park based on the photos and reviews I saw online but I did not see any despite being in the park all day for 4 days. This may be a seasonal thing, but just be aware they aren't easy to see, unlike the wild buffalo which always seem to be around. I never really expect to see big cats like leopards in any park, but I talked to some of the workers in the park and they said they do see them quite frequently. Unfortunately they only see them at night crossing the road, and as a tourist you can't be in the park at night. Nice to know the leopards are there though even if your chances of actually seeing them is very small. I also feel the park could use some investment. The mangrove trail is closed, the observation tower at the savannah is closed, and overall, there aren't a lot of hiking opportunities. There used to be lodging inside the park, but this is also closed. Bama beach is the center of activity. It's much cooler during the day, and very pretty. The facilities are also much better there, with some small restaurants and decent bathrooms. Overall, Baluran was one of my favorite spots in Indonesia. There is amazing wildlife if you visit at the right time, and the open savannah with Baluran mountain in the background is beautiful.

Loving every corner of this Island! You could see the view of Mount Raung and Mount Ijen from here. There are also deers living in this Island as Menjangan means Deer. I think the fish here also friendly 😆 there is a group of small fish (10-12 fish) circling me around like more than 10 times when I was snorkeling. They literally followed me until I get back into my boat. The minus is around the Sri Ganesha Temple there are a few of trash. Please do take an action.

One of best dive side I ever been. There was not or small currents and the visibility was super clear. lees of divers here.

Part of West Bali National Park. On the land, you can find many Menjangans (kind of deers), that is endemic animal of Menjangan Island & West Bali area. We are phohibited to touch and feed them since they are still wild animals and those actions can change their habit and behaviours. Under the water, we can explore beautiful yet healthy corals & see many of sea creatures from sea fans, eels, and macro creatures like nudibranchs, etc.

I go every day when I'm in pemuteran. Fabulous place. Well done to the creators and management. It's a fun safe place for the snorkelling community and for scuba training. Many small fish species sometimes a turtle nearby and great coral growing. I feed the fish and they swarm to me. Great to swim with nature. I have many videos I can't post... German and Austrian ladies I said hi too diving from the house pontoon. I couldn't get photos or videos to them

Pretty good! I don't like messing about with the natural environment, but they've got fish and coral using the structures, and it provides an interesting place to view sea life. Very easy swim from shore. The platform had a broken ladder, making it inaccessible to all but the more agile and strong… there didn't seem to be any urgency to fix it, and more than one person was seen injuring themselves trying to get on.

Nice spot, small coral, some small fish, nice view of growing coral, easy access from the beach. a few people in the water, not too busy.

Always a pleasure to stay at this homestay. Large, clean rooms with a/c, spotless bathrooms, most with queen beds but some that can separate into 2 twins. Good breakfast variety included, and there's a small swimming pool. Very nice staff who're adept in English. And integrated with it is a dive shop... And you can snorkel or scuba out to see the coral plantings of the Biorock experiment.

This project is great for coral recreation and interesting for snorkeling. You can find the statue of Garuda 12 meters deep, to the right of the floating house

This organisation is doing brilliant work helping to rejuvenate the coral through clever design, we saw turtles, thousands of beautiful fish and bright healthy coral just a stones throw from the beach. It's really worth donating to help these guys continue the great work they've been doing.

Very nice for snorkeling and not far from the shore. Enter at the flag for a safe entry for you and the corals. (There is also a sign written) I'm not a diver but for me it was really nice and many different fish including a pufferfish one day.

So peaceful! Tho it actually smells like Sulphur Sulphur but it is worth it. It has crowd though, but one thing I did not like though we had to purchase tickets for like 45000/p there was another parking fees which was supposed to be a donation! The man who was incharge asked us for 5000 and when we said no it’s based on donations you! He started saying! “Yeah yeah go away don’t pay anything” as if I have made a blunder by not paying him money! Tho i had given him a 1000 rupiah

The hot springs were nice, but the water wasn’t really hot. You have to pay extra fees for the spa or jacuzzi, and even for lockers (10,000 IDR). Still, the place had changing rooms and showers, we enjoyed it overall, and next time we’ll just bring shampoo!

Three pools with mineral infused water. One is the hottest and most crowded, the biggest one not too hot. Medium to medium high sulphur. More of a warm spring than a hot spring. Changing room was dirty and smelling bad. We decided to go back and change in the car and — I think it was the right call. Crowded with lots of tourist but no one disrespectful or anything on our visit. Some good bargains on knick knacks from the vendors as you walk up. My wife enjoys bargaining as it’s part of her culture and she got stuff for cheaper than back home. Small fee to park and use locker. They should close once a week for a deep cleaning, even half a day, would make it a five star experience

Nice water, it smells somewhat like swimming in an egg salad but you quickly get used to it. Three pools, I couldn't tell the difference between them in temperature, but one of them has water spouts which can do you a satisfactory massage if you get the angles right as they fall from a large height. I didn't use the restaurant or massage services so can't comment. Lockers cost 10k and toilets 3k, cash only. Cheap entrance ticket (45k for bule) so worth it on that basis. I spent about two hours there. Watch out for the entrance - there are about 20 gifts shops so it you want to shop go for it, but otherwise expect to be hassled. You might be able to get a grab moped but I couldn't get a grab car from this location, so book a driver in advance unless you want to be ripped off by the taxis outside.

A paradise on earth. This hot spring in the middle of the jungle is a paradise on earth. We had a great rest and my children loved it.

After paying for entry I was told to ride up to motorcycle parking, where I was told I needed to make a donation for parking (that’s fine and expected in Bali) I didn’t like the harassment from the market holders to purchase things before entry to tie hot springs, I don’t mind if walking around Bali, but after paying to enter an attraction it was very unwelcoming. (They have everything you need for sale in the pools btw, I got stung 50,000 for a towel because i read they weren’t supplied) The hot springs themselves were a mixture of warmish/hot water in the top pool and lukewarm water in the larger pool. The pool itself felt quite dirty and underwhelming, I didn’t spend long here as I was turned off by how slimy the pool was. I went early and avoided the crowds, but after an hour it was quite busy so I had a drink and left.

Relaxing and nice hot spring, you can smell the sulphur on the water. There are changing rooms at the facility. I will advice you to bring your own towels if your don’t want to buy one at the way in. There are 3 pools to enjoy and if you go early in the day you can avoid big crowds. Overall is worth visiting. Enjoy !!

I have done the walk with Putu many times now as have many happy guests of @villatunjung in Rangdu. It is not just a walk through the sawa's and some rainforest or fruit plantation. It's an experience as Putu seems to know everything about flora and fauna and the role of nature in every day's life of local people and religion. By great storytelling also! Not only is the walk with Putu an absolute joy, don't skip the superb lunch cooked by Ria! Best lunch in North Bali! You'll get 2 great experiences in one day for the price of one! Easy 5 stars and I won't hesitate to recommend this experience. Book and Go!

I spent a night in Lovina. It’s a big change from Seminyak or Ubud — less traffic, fewer crowds, and way more peace. The early morning dolphin tour was the highlight: we saw several pods swimming around the boat as the sun rose. Magical, even if there were a few too many boats at times. The beach itself isn’t the white sand you might expect, it’s black volcanic sand, which is cool in its own right. I also visited Banjar Hot Springs and the Brahmavihara monastery nearby, both worth a stop if you’re into nature and spirituality. Not much of a party scene here, which was perfect for me. Some nice cafes and warungs, and the locals were very welcoming. Overall, a good place to unwind and enjoy a quieter side of Bali.

Early start .had to be there 6am for sunrise .630am on boat out at sea watching dolphins 🐬 👌 best book your own boat saves sharing with idiots. Our skipper was brilliant .

Overall: Arrived at 515am. The air there in the morning was FRESH, I felt my smokey lungs getting a cleanse which breathing in the air. Hire a private boat it costs about 700k. Sharing is painful, watching how others had 8 people squeezing on 1. Boat runs slower with that much weight also. View: Spectacular, to view the sunrise. Water was so chill with no waves at all. However, I really hope the village people start taking care of this beautiful sea that they are blessed with. The water is clear but filled with rubbish. If this were to continue they would slowly destroy marine lives and dolphins may just start migrating. Dolphins: Left for the sea at 6am sharp. All of them have a group to communicate to each other if they sight dolphins which honestly is smart for the first batch but not after. Imagine 40-50 boats flying at high speed to a group of 5 dolphins. They just gonna end up hiding. Even after they hide and reappear, everyone just starts chasing it also… 700k for 2hours, only saw the dolphin 3 times. Would suggest going around 8am to 10am when the Dolphins are most active and that they’ve gathered together to come out to play.

The sunset are spectacular. There are restaurants and shops. I didn't like the many tour guides trying to get you on dolphin tours and vendors trying to sell us things. I guess that's normal in most of Asian countries. It becomes a little annoying when you want to have some peace.

PRO: the Lovina beach is reasonably quiet, always a spot in natural shadow to put your towel, not very touristy. The water is shallow hence good for children to play in. CON: it's literally littered with... litter. It's sad to see how much garbage is dumped here. A boy was sweeping sand off a little bridge on the beach and looked dismayed when I stepped over it... when the whole beach is covered in plastic bags, cups, straws and what not. They have projects on saving sea turtles yet keep dumping all their garbage in/near the sea... 😞

I drove 2.5h from Batur to see this place. There isnt a point to be here. Black sand, a lot of boats close to the beach and „dolohin” offers just for old turists, definitely not for travellers. This is even worse than beach in Kuta…

Finally visiting Bali’s northern black fine sand beach. We came to public part for sunset but it was too cloudy. Strange that someone collecting money only from foreigners for parking with some explanation to support villagers . Beach was not supper clean as many rubbish was there. Boys playing volleyball, some walking or running on the beach. We spent most of time on wooden pier relaxing and enjoying the views

If you want escape Canggu to see beautiful beach, this one is 10/10. It’s not very suitable for swimming - it’s more for surfers, but it was amazing. Definitely worth travel for it.

Great waves for surfing & very peaceful. Yet the rubbish let it down, so surfing here was less desirable out amongst the rubbish. Had to wear shoes on the beach due to amount of rubbish. Lots of dogs, but they kept to themselves.

Nice relaxed place.Good surf.From the road coming in to Balian you can go left to the Pitaya Hotel and many smalls warungs. If you take le right turn you go down to Gajah Mina Resort and Secret bay Restaurant.Good sea food. reasonnable priced. A beautiful nature walk on top of the cliff. For nature lovers..

The black sand feels nice on your feet. If you don’t surf, there is nothing for you to do here, the sea water is grey and very rough. Not very good spot for swimming. But the black sandy beach looks truly amazing and it feels so soft. As on every beach on bali, plastic beaches are a hype, unfortunately this one as well.

Beautiful and calm place. We took surf lesson & that was amazing! Enjoyed our honeymoon's first days here and would highly recommend to stay at! Waves are too high for swimming but good for surfing & you can also enjoy the beautiful and very calm beaches by walking

This beach was quiet with small crowds. The water was clear and great for walking. Some parts have soft charcoal colored/black sand, while other parts have rocks. Collected a lot of small seashells. Every morning, surfers were out surfing. A few stray dogs waiting for anyone to feed them. Some trash but not as bad as other beaches in Bali. Enjoyed this beach more than the populated beaches in Bali too.

Amazing surfing beach. I drove my scooter from Canggu to Balian and it was amazing once I got closer to the beach. But it was super sketchy and overall do not recommend driving a scooter on the main roads that far. I got to these rice terraces very close to the beach which was a beautiful surprise. Once I got to the beach you can have some coffee and watch the surf. After my surf there’s a great pool you can chill at for the day, just pay I think 100k. Highly recommend this spot if you wanna surf and chill

I visited this UNESCO-listed rice terrace, and out of all the rice terraces I explored in Bali — and I visited quite a few — this one is truly the best. If you have the chance, this is definitely the one worth seeing. Unfortunately, because of my driver, who wasn’t very patient and didn’t want to wait, I had to choose the shortest route. If I could visit again, I would absolutely choose the longest hike to fully enjoy the experience. I was lucky — there were absolutely no people because it was raining, so I got to enjoy the entire place in complete peace. It was incredible. There are also many cafés with beautiful views where you can sit and relax. I also visited a local warung right in the middle of the rice fields, where they serve brown rice grown directly on those very fields. The taste was amazing — truly unique and delicious. And don’t forget to bring a raincoat — if it rains, you’ll still be able to continue your walk through the rice terraces comfortably. Overall, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

Absolutely beautiful and incredibly extensive. Well-maintained pathways make it easy to get around. Rice terraces are perfectly manicured and photo-worthy. One price to get into the whole area, so no hassles like you would get at Tegallalang. Feels like less tourists, partly because it is further from town and not as popular on Instagram, though possibly even more beautiful. Also the area is so vast that you never feel like you’re surrounded by tourists. A must-see in Bali!

It is the most amazing experience you will ever have in Bali. The rice fields are extensive and you can spend an entire day exploring the various paths that connect across the vast area. Not touristy but you can click awesome photos at every spot, enough to spam your folder with them. There are restaurants near the entrance that offer a variety of dishes at reasonable price. The cab pick-up and drop-off spot is right at the entrance, hassle-free! Recommend this over Tegallalang any day! Enjoy~

Jatiluwih is simply breathtaking — a sea of shimmering green terraces that seem to roll on forever. Walking the paths is easy and peaceful, with views that change at every turn. We decided to try a self-guided audio walk through the Voicemap app, and it really brought the landscape to life — explaining the Subak irrigation system, local farming rituals, and the stories behind this UNESCO-listed wonder. We stopped at a small coffee hut tucked right among the paddies — the view was unreal . Listening while we walked made the experience even more special; you really start to appreciate how much care and time goes into growing rice in Bali. It’s best to visit early morning when the air is cool and the light golden. Bring a hat, take your time, and just let the calm and the green of the rice fields surround you — Jatiluwih really is pure Bali magic. and with all the ricefields disappearing its so nice to see touches that remain of the real Bali.

My second time back at Jatiluwih to indulge in the stunning rice terraces — and it’s just as breathtaking as I remembered. It truly deserves its UNESCO Heritage title! 🌾 The view from the top is already magnificent, so no need to walk too far down to enjoy the beauty. Loved the peaceful atmosphere with gamelan music playing in the background and a few cute puppies running around — such a perfect touch to the whole experience. 🐶💚

Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are one of the most magical places I visited in Bali. As soon as you arrive, the sweeping views of emerald-green paddies that stretch across hillsides leave you speechless. The air is cool and fresh, especially in the morning, when mist clings to the terraces and gives everything a soft, dreamlike quality. It felt as if nature was putting on a show just for us. We spent several hours walking along one of the marked trails, winding through the terraces and stopping often just to breathe in the beauty. The walk felt immersive: quiet paths, birdsong, distant mountain peaks, and the gentle murmur of streams fed through the subak irrigation system. Every viewpoint gave a new frame for photos—some shallow, some sweeping, some intimate. Jatiluwih isn’t crowded like some of the more famous terrace spots; that peace made the experience feel more authentic. The terraces also carry rich culture — the subak system (a traditional community-managed irrigation method) is still very much alive here, adding depth and meaning to what might otherwise just be scenery. We saw farmers tending the fields, local warungs (eateries) with views over the terraces, and small cafes where we rested and enjoyed simple, excellent food. If you love nature, photography, culture, or just want a peaceful escape, Jatiluwih delivers more than you expect. Stunning landscapes, serenity, and a deep sense of place make it a highlight of Bali and a must-visit for anyone who wants more

Jatiluwih Rice Terrace is truly beautiful and absolutely worth visiting. It offers a real, expansive rice terrace experience, much more authentic and impressive than the smaller one near Ubud center. The area is huge, peaceful, and perfect for walking around and taking in Bali’s natural beauty. A must-see for anyone who enjoys scenic landscapes.

The Sekumpul waterfalls are probably the most beautiful ones I’ve seen in the area. The tour also includes Fiji Waterfall and Hidden Waterfall – all of them are a must-see. You can swim everywhere and take some really cool photos. The trail is moderately challenging, but definitely worth it.

Visiting Sekumpul Waterfall was a perfection decision to enjoy the majestic and scenic adventurous beauty of nature in North Bali. The scenery was breathtaking — surrounded by jungles and the powerful waterfalls create a truly soothing atmosphere . The hiking at the bottom was a bit of adventure, with steps and paths through the forest, but every bit of effort was worth it when you will reach the falls. Standing at the bottom, you will feel the mist and the power of the water was mesmezing. Highly recommended to visit Sekumpul waterfall if you are in North Bali.

Absolutely stunning. It was nearing the end of the dry season but still plenty of water. We paid 20,000 rupiah at car park number 2 and enjoyed the hike to the waterfall - about 25 minutes. If you pay more 150k, you get a guide and go to the bottom of the waterfall

A must-see in Bali! Visiting Sekumpul Waterfall was one of the highlights of my trip. It takes about 1 hour to hike down and another hour to come back up — and yes, there are a lot of stairs! But it’s absolutely worth it. The waterfall is breathtaking, surrounded by lush jungle and the sound of rushing water. It feels like a hidden paradise. On the way there, I stopped at the Hanging Garden Restaurant (also called The Hanging Restaurant), and it was such a pleasant surprise. The food was delicious, and the view of the waterfall from the restaurant is stunning — a perfect place to relax before or after the hike. If you're up for an adventure and want to experience one of Bali’s most beautiful natural spots, Sekumpul is totally worth the effort!

Absolutely stunning! The 150k IDR medium hike includes both Hidden and Sekumpul waterfalls. The walk is short and easy (around 10 minutes), with a friendly guide leading the way. You can swim at Hidden Waterfall—super refreshing! Sekumpul is powerful and beautiful, but no swimming there. Totally worth the visit if you're in North Bali.

Waterfall is great, but stuff and attitude is terrible. Feels like a place full of scammers trying to sell you overpriced guide tours. Even on the road up to waterfall there were 2 groups of people trying to stop us. You can enjoy other waterfalls much more by much less money. Banyumala waterfall is close and you can spend there great time swimming, or just standing underneath waterfall. Do not come here except if you are not planning to see other waterfalls.

We have been absolutely alone at the location. There was a friendly young man who made exemptional photos on a raft under the waterfall. Good bless the nature!

Boat Rides:For a unique view, visitors can take a traditional boat ride on Lake Beratan. The general consensus is that despite being a popular tourist spot, the sheer beauty of the temple's setting makes it absolutely worth visiting for anyone exploring central Bali.

The staff was friendly and respectful, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn about the temple’s significance to local Balinese Hindus. One minor downside was the limited shade in some areas, so it’s best to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the heat. Overall, Ulun Danu Beratan is a must-visit destination in Bali, offering both cultural insight and stunning scenery. I would definitely recommend it to anyone exploring Bali's spiritual sites!

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is one of those places that just takes your breath away. The temples seem to float right on the lake with the mist rolling down from the mountains — it’s picture-perfect. But can be lots of people at various times. The gardens are well maintained and full of colour, with temples, shrines, and statues, and even a quiet Buddhist stupa tucked away in the gardens. . We noticed many people wandering through just taking photos, but not realising how much meaning and history this place holds. Its literally thousands of years old. so crazy. We used the Voicemap app for a self-guided audio tour, and it honestly made such a difference — it explained the stories behind the temples, the goddess of the lake, the central temple story floating in the lake, which is quite amazing, and why this Temple is so important to Balinese life. We would recommend this App if you're travelling without a guide, or if you're guide stays in the car like many do, whilst you walk through. Its so worth it Go early when it’s calm and the light hits the water — it’s just magic. Understanding what you’re seeing makes it all feel even more special. From there we then drove to Jatiluwih Rice Fields which are not far away, so saw two great places in one day.

I visited this place in the afternoon and spent around 2–3 hours there. Out of all the places I visited in Bali, this one truly stood out — it was one of the few that really impressed me. If you have the chance, I genuinely recommend coming here. It’s definitely worth it. I went on a weekday, and although there were people, it wasn’t crowded. It was easy to take photos at different spots without anyone in the background. The entire area is well-maintained and very beautiful. There’s also a small kids’ zoo where, for an additional fee, you can feed the animals. You can even take photos with different reptiles for an extra charge. Overall, I highly recommend visiting — it’s absolutely worth your time.

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple was an okay place to visit. The lake itself is beautiful, especially with the low clouds surrounding it, such a nice, cool atmosphere. Definitely bring a jacket because the weather up here is much cooler and the fresh air feels great. It does get quite crowded, and the overall experience feels a bit less authentic than expected, but the scenery still makes it a pleasant stop if you’re in the area.

My visit to temple in Bali was a pleasant experience. The temple stands on the edge of Lake Beratan in Bedugul and looks like it is floating on the water. Surrounded by green mountains and cool air, the place feels very calm. The temple is dedicated to the goddess of lakes and rivers. Its tall pagoda-style roofs and neat gardens make it very attractive. We also enjoyed the view of the lake. It is a peaceful and must-visit spot in Bali.

Great place for a long walk, which is not common in Bali! Perfert to see the sunset. Lots and lots of shops with local artisan beautiful things. At sunset you can walk to the temple and get blessed. Then tgete are a few restaurants with local food and amazing view. Don't missed out.

Another most visited place in Bali. The temple is beautiful. The location is even better. Though bit far from Kuta; the visitors is worthwhile. Now it is entirely on the tide timings whether you can reach the main temple or not. If you happen to be there during low tide then just walk across the the flat rocks and you can reach the main temple stairs. Though there is nothing much to see there. The entire temple compound is beautifully landscaped. You may walk around to see the other photogenic spots. There are many stores and shops selling snacks and souvenirs. You may visit them while returning back. The main issue is transportation. If you are on a scooter then no worries. But if you are taking a Grab or Gojek cab from Kuta then it will be wise to ask the driver to wait for you there and come back in the same car. Local taxis might charge a lot if taken from the temple area.

Tanah lot temple is located in the sea side, one of the famous sea temples in Bali. Tanah Lot translates to "Land in the sea". The temple is built on a rock formation off the cost making it appear to float on the sea during high tide. It is famous for the stunning sunset views. Plan your trip to make sure that you will be able to witness the sunset from there. At the base of the temple, there is holy water which is guarded by snakes. We can enter here and seek blessings as well. There is lot of shops available for shopping near the entry and exit gates. Also, the famous traditional Balinese gate is there for photo shoots. Pura Tanah Lot is a Hindu temple located on the southwest coast of Bali. It sits on an offshore rock formation and it’s therefore reachable only when there’s low tide: part of the rock is artificial because it replaced the original damaged one during restoration works in the 80s. The temple itself is not accessible, so the only two attractions there are the blessing with the holy water in the cave below the temple and the water snake in the cave on the opposite side: both require a money offer and to be honest they are not worth it.

Nice place to walk not far from the city. You have a good walking trail, but most of it expose to the sun. You can't go of the walking way to gind you a nice quit place in the wood. On start from south you can reach the river. On the north point you have some galeres and coffee shoe. If you need to get by walk to your entry point, start from south because there is a hilll to go, and it will be nicer to go down after you finish you walking.

Beautiful walk. Lots of up and down and stairs. If someone has trouble walking won't be too good for them. It is very hot as well. This Campuhan Ridge Walk can be a leisurely hike and takes around 30 to 45 minutes each way. Ofcourse depending on your pace and how often you stop for photos. I didn't go too far as it was very hot and humid but the entire round trip can be completed in about 1.5 hours. I also recommend wearing comfortable sneakers or walking shoes because the path is uneven in some places. If you plan to explore the nearby villages or stop at one of the cafés along the way, you might want to allow a bit more time. I stopped at a beautiful temple to visit just before starting the trail, so I would probably dedicate half a day to this visit. Lush greenery everywhere. It's free to enter the place.

Very pretty walk, totally mapped out so you won’t get lost. I wish there was more of a loop but I basically stop at a cute cafe called Draniki get a juice and go back the way I came. It’s a good, relaxing way to get your steps in away from the town. But it’s not really a hike for anyone looking for a challenge.

I was interested in visiting Campuhan Ridge Walk because many of my friends recommended it. As someone who loves hiking and walking, the Campuhan Ridge Walk was definitely something I didn’t want to miss during my stay in Ubud. I started my walk at 7 AM, and I think it was the perfect time. The trail is about 2 km long with beautiful scenery along the way. It wasn’t crowded in the morning, though I still passed a few people walking or jogging. Some brought their kids, and I also saw several people walking with their dogs. I loved walking slowly along the neatly paved path. It took me around one hour to reach Pura Gunung Lebah. There are no restaurants or convenience stores along the trail, so it’s important to bring your own water. There are also no public toilets along the way, but once you reach the village area, you’ll find restaurants and small shops. In the village, you can also see art galleries, villas, and more places to explore. Historically, the Campuhan Ridge was originally a meditation path used by the priest who built Pura Gunung Lebah. With time, the temple and the trail became an important spiritual center in the Ubud area. As the local community grew, the surroundings developed into residential areas. And with the growth of tourism in Ubud, the ridge walk eventually became one of the must-visit spots. Even so, I can still feel the spiritual atmosphere when walking slowly along the trail—enjoying the beautiful scenery, the fresh air, and the calm environment.

The pavement/walkway was so clean and serene. Come early to avoid the heat. I didn't go all the way to the other side but you can enjoy the calm village view and had smoothie, fruits or coffee on your way.

Amazing trek but the walk is not suitable for children and prams. The hills are steep and the steps are crooked and easy to trip over. I saw a local trip and fall on my visit here. Be careful, wear good shoes. I would recommend not going on a hot day as there aren’t any air conditioned areas at the end point.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud is a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Ubud itself — the path is easy winding along the top of the ridge through green hills, tall grasses, and endless views. The walk starts near the bridge and river at the bottom and winds up past the beautiful old temple and opens up into a most scenic walk We used the Voicemap app for a self-guided tour, and it made the walk even more interesting. It pointed out things we might’ve missed — the different grasses swaying along the ridge, the birds and insect life, the history of the path, and even the story of how those two famous palm trees ended up there! Toward the end, it also mentions that you can keep going down into the rice fields if you want to explore further. The app explores the history of Ubud too and lots of other interesting stories. We went early in the morning before the heat and humidity of the day, if youre going later take a hat or umbrella and was amazed at the amount of people talking their morning walk along there. The views are lovely and it’s a calm, refreshing way to start the day in Ubud. The Ridge is not far from the main road and easy to wander back ready for the day ahead.

It was ok, but be aware that visitors are not allowed inside the temple at all, so all you get to see for the entrance fee is the gardens and ponds at the front. They're pretty, for sure, but it's not quite what we were expecting. I understand it's culturally important and they don't want to be overrun with tourists, but it's disappointing to get there and find out you can't actually see the best bits. The front also houses a Starbucks (!!!) and big restaurant, so it's not exactly capturing the authentic temple feel.

A very beautiful landmark in the heart of central Ubud. Very close to the Ubud Palace and is a must visit place. There is of course entrance fees to be paid. All visitors are provided traditional attire and it looks really nice. There are cultural performances every evening. A lot of restaurants and cafes are there within the compound and nearby.

Pura Taman Kemuda (Saraswati Temple) is absolutely magical. The moment you walk in, you feel the calm energy of the place. The lotus pond is stunning — peaceful, dreamy, and perfect for photos — and the temple’s carvings and architecture are incredibly detailed and full of soul. It’s one of those spots in Ubud where you can slow down, breathe, and really feel Bali’s spiritual side. Even with visitors around, the atmosphere stays serene. I loved every minute here. A must-visit if you’re in Ubud. ✨🌺

Disappointing After seeing this online, I was very keen to visit. However, after I was left disappointed. It appears they have made some renovations/changes this year and not for the most positive. The stepping stones have been added to the lily pad ponds but I’m not sure if that’s to the detriment of the lily pads…. Didn’t look as healthy as previous photos. The main area of the temple is no longer public accessible so you’re really just seeing the front garden. Which you could just look at from the road without paying the entrance fee. The traditional Balinese dress is required to be worn, but is just passed onto the next person and on a hot day is very sweaty and grubby. Also just comes in one size. So if you are a bit taller or wider it doesn’t fit correctly and just probs make a bit of a mockery of it all rather than being culturally sensitive

Pura Taman Saraswati is one of the most beautiful Hindu temples that I visited during my stay in Bali. It's known also as the Water Palace of Ubud because of its lotus ponds: you can walk on them thanks to round decorated stones that create a path. All the visitors are given the same purple coat that matches the colour of the ornaments of the temple.

If you buy tickets online they will be cheaper than at the entrance. Dress in traditional clothes. Honestly, I think you need to come here early in the morning, as we were there at 12 noon and there were a lot of people, it was hard to take photos. The temple itself, the architecture and the decor are very cool.

There are those famous swing experiences where you can rent a beautiful flowing dress and pay for a professional photo or video — they’re amazing if you want that classic Bali swing moment! 🎥💃 But there are also lovely free spots around the terraces where you can take great photos without spending extra. Just explore a little and you’ll find beautiful angles with fewer crowds. Highly recommend going early in the morning for the best light and a peaceful atmosphere. ✨

These terraces are located closest to Ubud and are by far the most popular with tourists. Admission is free, but you can pay a voluntary fee. They are beautifully maintained, with many spots and viewpoints for beautiful photos. It's worth sitting down at a nearby restaurant (there are many to choose from) for a drink or a meal and admiring the rice terraces from a different perspective. A phenomenal place. I won't say more. It's a must-see.

Spectacular place to visit. I HIGHLY recommend going there around sunrise. I was let in at 6:30am and i was the only one there for a good 30 mins. To be left to your own devices in a UNESCO World Heritage Site is out of this world. Stunning scenery every way you look. Great for photographers

Absolutely breathtaking! Tegallalang Rice Terrace is one of the most stunning places in Bali — the layered green fields, fresh air, and peaceful atmosphere make it unforgettable. The views are picture-perfect from every angle, and walking through the terraces feels like stepping into a postcard. A must-visit spot that truly captures the beauty of Bali!

This was a beautiful experience. I was so excited to explore rice fields and this didn't disappoint. The green colors were vibrant and the many layers of the terrace were beautiful. They have the option to do zip line, swing, Aladin carpet ride, and superman. All great options to explore the beauty of the fields.

Most of the prices are 3x the selling price we see at stores in Sanur Harbor. Even if you haggle, you will just be able to haggle it to the original selling price. So don’t buy unless you don’t have time to look elsewhere or want a challenge to haggle until you deem the price is worth the item. We were able to buy some items that I didn’t see in other places like the patched up pants.

A vibrant place full of handicrafts, souvenirs, and Balinese art. Prices can be quite expensive, so make sure you have good bargaining skills. Parking is a bit difficult, but aside from that, it’s a great spot to explore and experience the local atmosphere.

A large market with many similar stalls—it can feel a bit repetitive, as most shops sell the same items. Prices are inflated for tourists, so bargaining is expected, and you can often bring the price down by half or more, which makes it hard to know the real value. While the setting is lively and picturesque, giving you a nice spot to wander if you’re already in the area, it feels more tourist-oriented than authentic. We noticed the same goods being sold in many other parts of Bali, so don’t expect unique local craftsmanship here. Do check out the second floor if you visit, but overall, I wouldn’t return as it lacked originality.

Located right in the heart of Ubud, this market is packed with beautiful handmade items — from wooden carvings and rattan bags to batik clothes, paintings, and jewelry. Every corner is filled with creativity and craftsmanship, making it a must-visit for anyone who loves local art and culture. One of the best parts of shopping here is the bargaining experience. The initial price that vendors quote is usually much higher than the actual selling value, so don’t hesitate to negotiate — it’s part of the fun! In many cases, you can get items for half or even one-third of the first price if you bargain politely and with a smile. For example, if something starts at 300,000 IDR, you can often get it for around 100,000 IDR or even less. It’s a great feeling when you walk away with a good deal while supporting local artisans. Just take your time, explore the different stalls, and enjoy the friendly conversations with the sellers. Overall, Ubud Art Market is not just a shopping stop — it’s a cultural experience where your bargaining skills can truly shine!

Products are costly here because tourists place. Shop owners know this. But you can get products in cheap prices after bargain. You can easily bargain 50% less price and shop owners will agree. I purchased the similar products outside the market with less price and same quality. Rest, Street Style Market, you have to walk a lot between the shops. Must Visit but do not buy anything unless you really liked it. Check out the images for more information.

Pretty big market full of souvenirs and clothes. Everyone is happy to bargain, basically the price they tell you at first is always highly overpriced. If the say something cost 300k you can buy it at 150k easily or start bargaining and get it down to 50-100k rupees. Never ever accept initial pricing. We bought a bunch of souvenirs and clothes here. Pricing for the magnets is about +-20k, most of the clothes (tshirts, shorts, etc) you can get at 50-100k.

Lovely place to get all your bits and pieces to take back home. Shop owners didnt really push you to buy like I've experienced at Kuta market.

This was my 4th time visiting the monkey forest and I loved it. Despite what you hear about monkey aggression, you just have to follow the rules and signs. I did make eye contact with a monkey by accident and it grabbed me which I found quite funny to be honest. It didn’t hurt me, and it was my mistake lol. To add to that, I have never been attacked or seen anyone badly injured here. Honestly, it was heartwarming to see the local Balinese bonding and feeding the monkeys, you can tell they are trained and know what they are doing. I really enjoy the fact that these monkeys are able to free roam. It may be scary for humans, but it is great that they are not chained or caged. It is so nice to see the Balinese genuinely care for these gorgeous animals. At the end of the day, you are in the monkeys home. Treat them with respect and they shall leave you be. It’s a really beautiful and breezy area. The natural landscape of this place is breathtaking.

A nice casual walk in the park. There are a lot of monkeys but they are not aggressive. There are conservation staff around to park to ensure that the interactions between the guests and monkeys are safe and ethical. The monkeys are not particularly afraid of humans and may climb onto a person, although no feeding is allowed. Most part of the park is shaded and in forest area. Bring bug spray. There’s a nice and easy walking trail through the forest and lots of relics to look at.

Such a magical and unforgettable experience! The Monkey Forest Sanctuary is absolutely beautiful, lush, peaceful, and filled with nature’s charm. The monkeys are playful and fun to watch (just keep your belongings safe!). I loved how well-maintained and organized the place is, with helpful staff and clear paths through the forest and temples. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and nature all in one spot. A must-visit when in Ubud!

Surpassed any expectations I have had about the sanctuary. I was a bit scared and nervous coming to the place. However, if you follow the rules, monkey will leave you alone and do they own things and they're very useo to human. It was an amazing experience to observe the monkeys in their habitat. The place was very well maintained and reasonable price for entry tickets.

Great place to visit! I had a really nice time walking through this tropical forest filled with monkeys. There are plenty of them everywhere, and watching them was a lot of fun. The whole walk was relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely worth a stop when you’re in Ubud.

This place is absolutely beautiful, magical, and full of wanderlust energy! Monkeys are everywhere swinging from trees, lounging on railings, and living their best lives. The forest itself feels like stepping into another world, surrounded by lush greenery and ancient temples covered in moss. It’s incredible to watch these monkeys up close (just hold onto your belongings!). I had such a fun and unforgettable experience here. The monkeys truly seem to be living great lives in their sacred jungle home.

Be careful >< I had some Keychain on my bag, Litteraly at the exit, one monkey took 2 of them.. I was able to grab one back. Anyways don't have anything outside the bag, water, Keychain ecc, no sunglasses and I would be careful also with earrings. We needed like an hour to see everything inside, it's nice and the monkey are mostly doing their things, eating, running ecc. I did not pay for have my photo taken, if I remember correctly was 50k for the service. Just be respectful, I took photo of the monkey but didn't get to near, just walk and leave them alone. When there's a lot of people can be stressful for them.

Amazing views, the venue is worth it just for this. The food they serve can be hit and miss. Guess it depends on your taste. Loved the soup and some of local mains. The black rice pudding and fried bananas were not as well received though. Get dessert elsewhere in my opinion. Unless you're happy with some fruit. The buffet was a bit pricey compared to the rest of Bali cuisine but at less than USD $15 (200k IDR), still very affordable.

Buffet style lunch as well as serving is available. Wide range of food to select from. View is breathtaking. Ample parking space. Rates are not too high. Food quality is also good. Vegetarian as well as non vegetarian food is available.

A Lovely place to dine in. The food is ok but the ambience is worth visiting. You can sit in the open air and have your food. Taking selfies 8s what people prefer after food. It has Volcano view♥️♥️♥️ Please carry umbrella during your visit in any month as it rains very often.

Great views! Price is considered ok since it's buffet and all u can eat. We're here more for the views instead of food. There r food available for vegetarians.
