Enjoyable little stop. There's the UNESCO site with a couple small churches and a stairway down to the beach (closed when we visited in March), where you can see the cliffs. A couple minutes up the coast is the lighthouse along with free parking and a bathroom. You can't see the cliffs from there but they have free binoculars to see around the area.

Small place with breathtaking viewpoints all along the clif. Just watch out, hardly any fences and the cliffs must be around 50-70 meters high. At the far end there is a rather large paid (5 euro, card only) parking from where its a 2 minute walk to the church and start of hiking trails along the cliffs

Visited late in the afternoon so there were not a lot of people around. The view of the cliffs were amazing from the old church. It's nice that they rebuilt the stairs with metal now but it is quite steep so need to be extra careful going down the beach. Happy to have found one stone with a fossil as well.

Excellent! I had to do the English audio tour with a Danish tour guide, but the facility is just amazing. The tunnels were a nice relief from the hot sun outside. I was able to lock my bike under a shelter, and the staff kept a bag for me so I didn't have to carry it around.

We visited Stevnsfort a group of friends, took the special tour, and what an experience! Our guide Jørn Due was a great storyteller, and we had an amazing time around the fort and all the hallways and secret passage ways. A big recommendation to visit this place of Danish military history! 🇩🇰

The museum has some special exhibitions, and little by little visitors emerge into the artistic world. I enjoy the welcoming and warm of the staff members, and how kind they communicate with the customers but also between each others transmitting a nice feeling of a community. For some video projections more seats are needed as there was no space for everyone. The location is simply beautiful. Other than that, there is a big parking place also used by those going to the strand and not visiting the museum, and a small bycicle space.

If you love modern art, this is the place for you. Plus it sits in a beautiful surrounding, with walks around the lakes and by the sea. A lovely cafe is just a few hundred yards away with pizza, beer, ice cream and other refreshments. Spend an extra hour exploring the nature walks if weather permits. You may even be lucky enough to spot a troll on your walk!

An interesting modern art museum by the coast. Not the most inspiring building on the outside, but good exhibits, café/restaurant and shop. Unfortunately, the day we came there was extremely loud construction going on. The museum gave cheap entrance and a free coffee because of the noise, but it would have been nice if they had stated the ongoing work on their website. Still a good place to visit and very nice food. Our highlight was the plastic ball pool for all ages. Lots of parking but unfortunately no electric car charging available.

Frederiksborg Castle is a grand and beautiful castle located about an hour from Copenhagen 🇩🇰. You can take a train to Hillerød Station, and from there it’s an easy 1 km walk to the castle 🚶‍♂️. Entry fee is 110 DKK per person, and the castle is surrounded by stunning gardens and a peaceful lake that make the whole place truly picturesque 🌿🏰. When we visited, some parts were under renovation, and the museum inside didn’t have much that was interactive. Still, the architecture and royal atmosphere make it a pleasant visit, especially if you love history and photography 📸. If you’re short on time, we’d recommend visiting Kronborg and Rosenborg first, and then Frederiksborg — in that order ⏱️. Each has its own charm, but Kronborg and Rosenborg felt more engaging overall ✨.

This is a lovely easy day trip out of Copenhagen. A single 40 minute ride on the E train to Hillerød station then a 15 minute walk or short bus ride to the castle. The castle is huge and rarely crowded, but the vast rooms, artwork, and gardens are gorgeous. Check out the tour times before you visit - we were lucky to arrive just in time for the English language tour and it was superb. The castle is an easy walk from town, but there’s also a small boat which does a lap of the lake and for a small fee takes you to the garden and the far side of the castle.

We knew this place was one of those 'must see' locations on the island of Sjælland and I vaguely remembered going there when I was 12, entry is also included within the Copenhagen Card. We had actually spent the entire day in Copenhagen the day previously and so had always planned to head north the following morning. We were back at Tivoli by the afternoon so definitely recommend this as a day if you've the stamina. Very impressive castle and worth the visit. It would probably have been better a few weeks later when the wee boat on the Slotssøen was running again (too early in the season) but then I imagine you'd want more than just a morning in the area when the weather is warmer too. The bonus was that it was really quiet - you'll see from the photos we were often the only family in these huge and spectacular rooms.

A beautiful castle built in the early 17th century. The alterpiece made of ivory and gold looks majestic. From the pre-historic to modern times, there's a lot to see. The gardens are a treat for the eyes and the castle is worth it.

The building is being repaired as I went there, the inside is cleaned and well-maintained. The artworks of the royals and the shields are a bit special though, I also enjoyed the nouveau history bit that was shown on the third floor. The price was good for such a big exhibition. Now as for why I'm only rating it 3 stars, I personally don't think it's worth going out of your way to buy a ticket outside of Copenhagen to go here, because the inside of the castle looks a lot like that of any other's in Europe that I've been in so it's not very memorable and the vicinity is pretty bland in comparison with the inner part of the city.. don't misunderstand though, I'm not warning anyone against visiting this. If you're using public transport I'd recommend buying single tickets and not the big city pass, outside the main city the town isn't very touristy.

But there are 5 of them, and , whats more they have been fully rebuilt and are available even to step-in at the port next to the museum ! I learnt a lot from the short film in the museum. Go to the boat workshop at the port - they are just building a new boat, using old traditional tools, and you can chat with craftsmen. It was Worth a visit/trip from Copenhagen.

Outside are reconstructed vessels and workshops where they are experimentally building new Viking vessels. It is a fantastic spot for a family day out. The kids absolutely love it, no question about that and there is something for everyone, regardless of age. From fun rides and playful activities for little ones to more thrilling attractions and relaxing areas for adults, the place offers an all rounded experience. A very nice historical place, it is a place of Viking battles where, in various places, there are hills in which the bodies of the fallen are buried. It is worth seeing this place, I recommend it to all visitors.

Wow! What an amazing experience this is. Overwhelmed with the energy of the huge stone statues and the music composed by the earth rhythms. A must go when in Lolland.

Careful - Google maps told us to park on the road supposedly 200m away. It was a 12 minute walk there and then 12 minutes back. You can go down a private road which says no entry- there is a car park for 3 handicaped people and then a private one for 50 DKK - which is 100m far from the sculptures. However, when the weather is nice, the walk is good and the views are great. Worth visiting.

This was a fantastik place to visit. We want on family trip for haloween. 2 adults and 2 kids. Fair entry price. Very pretty haloween setup and decoration. Loads of stuff for the kids. At driving, horror labyrinth, scary decorations, Donkey rides, petting zoo, and much much more. We spend about 3 hours and are the lunch we brought on the clean and covered terrasse. There was an eatery as well with the usual burger and fries but also other more Danish items. Again fair prices. Would happily go back and have a look again for the xmas decorations and marked. Time well spend and well worth it.

Went there during the Viking Festival. It was really awesome. Hundreds were in costume, there were battle recreations, You could see and make craft items, learn new Viking skills. With Viking coins buy jewellery, craft, wooden swords and shields, lots of things. Or just wonder around the encampment and talk to the settlers and just learn.

Interesting museum and recreation of Viking structures, couldn’t believe that it was free to enter. Not much left to see of the original settlement other than the mounds, but they do a great job of helping visitors to visualize what it may have been like.

Tough place to reach but mesmerizing. Everyone there was really nice, but the guide guy was the absolute best. I'll hopefully get there again in future, without suitcase 😵‍💫😆

Ludicrously Expensive. You have to treat this as an attraction, I.e. an experience that you're paying for. As such, enjoy the view, get your passengers to take photos, and if you can, head to the free parking at the Isbådsmuseet on the Sjælland side to get a different view. We took our car from Scotland, so we had the unique experience of a rare RHD going over. 230kr. One way, though (£26 GBP). At that price, I wouldn't like it to be my regular commute.

First thing - it's quite expensive, 230DKK is nothing cheap for simple bridge you will pass in few minutes. But it is good shortcut and interesting landmark. You can stop by next of some small (free) boat museum and enjoy the view, if you don't have rainy weather like we did.

I have used the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark a few times, which connects Zealand and Fyn islands. It's an incredible piece of architecture with stunning sea views. Spanning a total of 18 km, it's the longest bridge in the region. If you use BroBizz, you can get a discounted toll price. Driving across at 110 km/h, the experience is truly enjoyable with breathtaking panoramic views. Highly recommend for anyone driving between the islands!

Total mess other direction one toll gate got destroyed. Due to it is not foreseen for foreigners to pay other than by card or by cash a long trafic jam was resulted. This is tourist unfriendly because other toll gates support online based pre-paid systems. Additional confusion because payments randomly only worked after double payment and following vehicles were confused if to go or stay and ask police if to pass unpaid or wait. In case of an emergency the non working payment systems could cause a potential security risc from resulted traffic jams because in case of emergency help will arrive with a long delay. Think over and change it!

The castle is currently under construction and will remain under scaffolding for the next few years but the park is quite nice with a fully reconstructed bastion from the city defenses.

Very nice to visit, but in 2018 in renovation. So it is closed. Nevertheless the surroundings are worth too. In the summer there is a theater outside. Also very nice. And the free entrance water tower with artists who are displaying and hopefully sell their work. Do support the artists!

Oldest royal castle in the Nordic. Will be very magnificent when renovated (they are about to reconstruct missing parts of it) but still worth a walk around the hilly moats.

The most picturesque setting - surrounded by ocean, woods and green fields - and now with the huge added bonus of contemporary art exhibitions. We will definitely be back.

The largest privately owned castle in Denmark and well worth the visit. Now the house curates the works of several artists in these historic and wonderful settings. The grounds alone would be worthwhile. Nice cafe too.

Can't comment on the castle but a great place adjacent to swim. There's a ferry, not the boat shown, that services about 6 locations - runs 3 timed a day (July).

A lovely castle, gardens museum and play areas. I went most looking forward to the castle but was pleasantly surprised by the size of the play area and the museum and particularly the collection of historical cars. The amount of activities for younger kids to keep them busy was great as well with lots of variety.

I would give 10 stars if I could. Initially thought the cost was a bit steep compared to other places we'd visited in Denmark. Enjoyed the gardens but hadn't expected the displays if vintage/old and very interesting cars, bikes, motorbikes, helicopters to be so extensive. 2 whole 'sheds' contained exhibits that were covered in dust as insufficient room to display.

Great place with many things to do. We spend 4 hours there, enjoying the impressive castle, the beautiful garden and the kids attractions: Maze, trampoline, playing ground and three tree top walking trail.

Visiting Egeskov Castle was one of the highlights of my trip to Denmark. A grand place for the family. Cars, motorcycles, history, gardens and facilities for a full days entertainment is all at Egeskov. Egeskov has a very large visitor capacity, so don't be worried if you see a full parking lot. It can easily handle the crowds. Great playgrounds for the little ones and lots of interesting things for the grown ups. Highly recommended.

Castel and its garden and other exhibitions were really nice. In the castel you can see some old clothes, hunting room, toys… Also the garden and playground is really good. In garage you see many old cars, bikes, motorcycles… I was maybe a bit disappointed in camping equipment… it felt a bit too commercial. But for sure I would recommend a visit. Maze was amazing and not as easy as one might think. We stayed 3h.

It’s really worth a stroll among the bushes, the little villages or the coast. The buses from and to the three main towns are free and you can walk around the villages or relax sitting by the sea. Great atmosphere.

Ærø is one of the most beautiful, charming, welcoming places I have seen. A tiny island, near-perfectly preserved with its charming old town, heritage architecture, cobbled lanes, natural vistas. Imagine strolling hand in hand with your beloved through these narrow streets lined with centuries-old, pastel-colored houses, or by the beach lined with little beach huts. The quaint town square provides an intimate and inviting atmosphere for couples to explore and make memories of their special day. Been here for 2 days and loved. There's much tranquility in some parts of the island whereas every other places looks like what you can expect elsewhere. Good people and services. There's a Netto store for general shopping but one can also expect 25% tax on purchases. Items are pretty expensive compared to Germany for example, so we bought and brought our own groceries. However I can't also forget the memorable sea food dinner at the harbour which will leave some amazing impression. You will find narrow streets but nice too. Going for walk on the shore? Or collecting shells and rocks with friends? Expect some good experiences on this island. I'll revisit again sometime. On budget for housing? Book on Airbnb. 4 people 2 nights cost 250 euro. This is amazing because you can get kitchen too. Also you get to experience how's living in a typical house feels like. If you want hotel you'll find some too. Its also perfect wedding destination. Got married there too.

I loved the experience specially as foreigner got to experience village style house of Europe and traditional construction of different times.

One of the most interesting and enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had. The farm buildings are so full of cool things to see and learn about, I could go back many times. My only comment, and this is not a criticism by any means, is without historical interpreters - the places feels somewhat listless. Granted that takes staffing and money- both of which are hard to come by, but I’d say that this visit made my entire Denmark vacation worthwhile.

A great experience, a small Danish Pompeii of the 1700-1800. Talk with the old people here and there, they really offer great gems on history and knowledge, I finally understood why old danish houses are done the way they were done. Great for kids also. Highly recommended for anyone doing an on the road holiday through Danemark.

It's a cute museum which helps you get a better grip on what life was like on Funen some 150-200 years ago. Especially fun with children. I liked the spin they put on the experience relating things to sustainability and circularity.

A nice way to explore the past. A relaxing atmosphere and super chill farm animals. It's a good way to experience nature and fresh air, see some super interesting old buildings and have some exercise. Lots of place to eat what one brings from home but I'm glad we forgot ours and experienced the restaurant inside

The Funen Village is worth a visit. You travel back in time to see how life was like in the 1800s. You get to go into pretty much all the buildings and get a real feeling how it was like to live in these structures. It’s also pretty cool that they have some farm animals here as well. The entrance to this place is through the modern looking building close to the main road. Parking is plentiful.

Truly magical and indeed very interactive experience. One of the best museum I have ever visited. The story telling,lighting, the ambience everything felt right into the place. I even had a chance to draw and make a silent book for myself which I believe is one of the unique souvenir that I could ever get. I could spent hours and hours without getting bored. I never thought visiting a museum could be this much interesting.

Loved it. Great experience for younger ones and still kept us parents interested. The place tells the story of the life of Hans Christian Anderson. Through the main part of the museum you can use these audio guidebooks which were great at also keeping our 4 and 6 year old engaged. The audio bits were easy to do and didn't last too long. Maybe a minute or two maximum for most (a complaint I have for other places like this is sometimes they drone on and on, but this was a great length and lots of them to do). At the end of the main museum there is this great bit which is more interactive for kids as well. After this there is the children's wonderland which had last of roleplay sections and a lot of great quality dress up stuff. And also they had a craft section as well. Staff were friendly throughout. My only complaint was there were no books in the shop I could see in English. Did seem to have other languages though. All in all great place to visit, particularly with kids.

Probably the biggest tourist attraction in Odense, so definitely needs a visit. Well laid out, with a detailed history of his life first, followed by a wonderland of activities for the kids (thank God they didn't do this bit first otherwise you'd never get the kids round the rest of it!) Well curated, and the audio guide worked flawlessly. TBH I hadn't really heard of the fella, but still enjoyed a couple of hours here!

Danish Author 'Hans Christian Andersen' was born in Odense 1805, and is best remembered for his literary fairy tales. He had moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, when he was barely 14, to seek employment as an actor. After being told that he sounded like 'being a good poet', Anderson started focusing on writing. Jonas Collin director of the Royal Theater, personally focused on ensuring that Anderson got serious education. His famous fairy tales include 'The Emperor's New Clothes', 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Nightingale', 'The Princess and the Pea', 'The Ugly Duckling', 'Thumbelina' etc. So much so, that his fascinating stories have inspired ballets, plays, and live-action films. I personally think that 'Sad is the life, which is devoid of furtive imagination, but which can become fruitful, after being a-lit by the lore's of Great Writers'. Since, my travels always leads me to the local Book shops, needless to add that I took the opportunity of rummaging through the racks full of his written works and chose a few to carry them home, to include them in my personal library and ensuring that those deprived of such wonderful fairy tales, will enjoy reading them at galore.

The audio guide is the most advanced I have personally used, and was done in a way to keep you captivated and moving along the building. A great experience for families and I highly recommend it.

Really lovely place and well decorated. Loved the info boards and the cute decorations and themes everytime you went somewhere. You can tell the place/people working there really cares about their Animals and their environment ❤️

A very nice zoo, where they take good care of their animals. Informative signs with a lot of fun facts. The biomes for the rainforest species and penguins are amazing, but bring a cardigan if you want to stay for feeding time in the latter, it's quite chilly (as it should be)!

Super nice zoo, the animals are well taken care of and they have a good time here. The park is nice to walk through, sometimes it is a little impossible to follow the main trail via the map. But that just makes the adventure more interesting. I am totally in love with the king penguins, they are so big! For me I feel that the enclosures could be a little bigger but I am not an expert after too course.

Really cozy place, animals are in a really good condition and have clean enclosures. I would recommend to buy a ticket online, so you don’t have to stand in the queue for tickets :)

Such an incredible zoo! There were so many animals to see and it was clear that they were really well looked after. One of the true highlights of Odense.

Beautiful zoo, the main route to follow is clear, plenty of food/drink stalls, and you had the possibility to walk in (or around) some animal area's to really get close to the animals.

It's a really nice place with a lot of things to do and explore. We had a lot of fun being there. We missed a lot of shows because of our poor timing and the language (some of them are in german). There's a lot of things to do for children and adults alike. We especially enjoyed the wind tunnel ( Beat the Storm) and the Sky Trail (the climbing area...beware of vertigo). It's a good place to visit 2, 3 times. After buying your way in, they will give you a bracelet with a chip encoded that will help you enter anywhere in the park. The restaurants prices are a little steep, but that's to be expected. The staff is friendly and helpful at any stage. You have the option to rent a small wagon for your children or your things, to carry around, for a 50 dkk fee. Most attractions have a secure locker room that you can open via your bracelet, so you can store your belongings while visiting. The parking is decently big, but I would still recommend coming in early. Get your tickets in advance so that you can benefit from 25% discount. [Furthermore, you get a 50% discount if you have a season pass from other attractions (like Givskud Zoo)].

The park is very interesting and educational. However, the way how the park handle the visitors in virtual line making it super unfair for the visitors with regular tickets. At the Sky Trail, the employees kept letting the visitors in the virtual line to get in first whenever they showed up even though the people in the regular line had already waited there for more than 20 minutes (the regular line was not even long at all).

Great expectations and some of them delivered in plenty. Innovative games, quizzes and challenging engaging experiences for most ages. Unfortunately this day some of the biggest exhibitions were closed due to a faulty fireprevention system or other fault. There was a lack of communication from the staff as to why half of the exhibitions were closed due to this.

It's a large science park that kids can enjoy. Children can become familiar with different scientific concepts, play games, and have fun, while parents can enjoy the beautiful and green area inside the park. There are restaurants, ice-cream shops, gift shop, etc. It is a fun way to spend a day.

2025-09-14 - Visited with my wife and three daughters (age 9, 6 and 3). We had a great day with lot of fun. The park is best if you are more than 1,3 meters high as there was quite many attractions which only my oldest daughter could try… Bust still we had a good day!

It's a nice place to spent a day with the kids. I would give it 4,5* if possible. The missing half star is because there were some experiments that where not working ( fire zone) and you should work on the soap mix in the bubble zone 😉

I’m writing to express concern about an incident that occurred during our recent visit. While most of the experience was fine, we encountered a moment that felt disturbingly discriminatory. At the Skytrail climbing attraction, our children — who were clearly waiting earlier in the queue — were consistently overlooked, while others who arrived later were helped and equipped first. There was no clear order or number system, yet our children were skipped without explanation. The contrast in how other children were assisted — with attention and patience — was stark. A similar situation occurred at the Segway station, where one of the same staff members again seemed to intentionally avoid instructing or assisting our children, while being notably more attentive to others. Being treated this way — especially when children are involved — simply because of where we come from is unacceptable. We came as paying guests like everyone else, and no one deserves to feel ignored or unwelcome because of their background. Discrimination, intentional or not, has no place in any customer-facing setting. We truly hope your team will take this feedback seriously and address it with the relevant staff. Great place to visit and sink into the history of the country and industry!

We had a great time. The fact that there was such a variety of exhibits and almost everything was very hands-on really kept our kids' attention. We ended up staying for almost 4 hours. There was room to have a packed lunch - indoors, too, which was particularly useful on the day of our visit. Free parking right next door was also great.

Nice area near Horsens harbor and marinara showcasing factory machines from the early 1900s, workers living areas, textile industry, printing presses, shoe making, Nimbus motorbikes and an old bank. Ice cream, free parking, picnic areas and toilets available.

wow the coolest place ever, they have steamengines, diesel, generators, press machines, even stone press in action, phone history, radio and tv history, schools , workshops, and a nimbus section too, all people you meet there are super friendly and love to talk and show you stuff, much much recommended, kids under 18 are free

Interesting place. Seems on some moments as you are in smaller Old Town Aarhus. Cool part is that they actually start some of the machines while visitors are in the museum.

This prison museum was incredibly interesting and left a deep impression. I found every section engaging, with new and informative displays around each corner. The basement was the most impactful part for me — especially the photo of a former prisoner, which really stayed with me. Most of the written information is available in English, making it easy to follow along. However, the films are all in Danish, so keep that in mind if you don’t speak the language. Overall, a powerful and well-designed museum that I definitely recommend visiting.

Amazing museum. Very busy, great stories to tell.

It was okay but we had smaller children and it was not very interesting for them. The biker gang stuff, the contraband search game and the escape tunnel were good though and I would still recommend it if people have the time.

Faengslet as an event site has potential but it is cold everywhere. The atmosphere is authentic but low-key. We had a great event!

Museum and Christmas market opening- was spectacular

Amazing history museum in an old prison. It guides you through history of Danish penal system and engages you with stories of Danish criminal underground and increduble jailbreaks.

A nice stay. Extra plus for the good beds and superb bed lining. On the downside it smelled of mold in the sleeping area. The museum was a treat and the whole family enjoyed it.

Very nice theater with stunning performances way above what you would expect in a city this size. Their musicals are fantastic and sometimes world premieres. Many of the shows are later touring Copenhagen and Aarhus. The building itself is not the very best from audience perspective, as it is rather narrow and deep

Show was great - room was so sweltering hot that I was literally dripping with sweat. Has to be better at that price point.

A great place for a walk all four seasons. Visit the old water reservoir for a great view of Fredericia and Little Belt. Let the kids play on the playground or ride the cannons. Head towards Kongens Bastion for a nice panoramic view of the beach.
