School French Ski Alpe D'huez

Ski school
Outdoor Activities
Other Outdoor Activities
The French Ski School (ESF) is open to children aged 3 to 12 and offers two snow gardens in the village and at the satellite center la Daille. They follow the French national ski program, ensuring consistent levels and progression for kids who have skied with ESF in other resorts. Children above 13 can join adult groups. The school provides morning lessons in English, with small group sizes and friendly instructors like Thalassa who go the extra mile to help students improve.
I had two private lessons with Antoine, and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor! He is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and always encouraging. He provided a lot of useful tips and techniques, making the learning process both effective and enjoyable. Even as a beginner, I felt comfortable and confident on the slopes, and I saw noticeable improvement after just two sessions. On top of that, the lessons were a lot of fun! I highly recommend Antoine and the ski school to anyone looking to improve their skills.

Fantastic Experience with ESF – Highly Recommend Booking Early! We had an amazing experience with ESF, and our biggest tip is to book early! We originally wanted group lessons for our 5-year-old daughter, but they were completely booked up. Luckily, we managed to get one-to-one lessons, which weren’t much more expensive and turned out to be a fantastic decision. Clem’ – A Brilliant Instructor! Our daughter had never skied before, and to be honest, she can’t even roller-skate, so we were a little unsure how she’d get on. She was also quite nervous about meeting her instructor, but within 30 seconds of meeting Clem’, she was completely at ease. Clem’ is an absolute star—friendly, patient, and fantastic with kids. We booked six days of one-hour private lessons, and the progress was unbelievable. Clem’ gave us brilliant advice, not just for our daughter but for us as parents—things like letting her figure things out independently rather than jumping in to help too soon. By day three, she was flying down the kids' slope (like a little bullet!), and by day four, she was confidently using the button lift and skiing down all by herself. Clem’ also gave us tips for next year, recommending a group session, as kids often improve faster when learning alongside others. A Few Tips for First-Timers Book early – Group sessions fill up fast, and one-to-one lessons can also get booked up quickly. Confirm the meeting point – If you’re new to the area, it can be a bit confusing. To get to the lesson area, you need to take the Lobster Pot lift up to the main ski area. The meeting point is by the restaurant near the Signal lift, but after the first day, we met directly at the kids’ ski area, which was much easier. Do not go to the office as that's in the village below. Don’t hover too much – Clem’ encouraged us to drop our daughter off, go ski for an hour, then come back. It worked brilliantly, as she got to learn independently while we enjoyed our time on the slopes. Stick around for the ESF Show – On Thursday evening, ESF put on a fantastic ski show with fireworks, featuring 300+ instructors doing incredible performances. The best way to watch? Grab a table at a restaurant, have some drinks, and enjoy the show from there rather than heading up the mountain. Just wrap up warm—it gets freezing up there! Final Thoughts Honestly, we couldn’t rate ESF highly enough. From the way instructors help out on the lifts to their expertise in teaching skiers of all levels, the entire experience was top-class. Even if you're an intermediate skier, I’d still recommend booking a couple of private lessons—I saw one-to-one lessons happening, and the level of improvement was seriously impressive. And finally—a massive shoutout to Clem’ for making our daughter’s first skiing experience fun, confidence-boosting, and genuinely unforgettable. She’s an absolute credit to ESF, and we’ll 100% be booking lessons again next year. If you're planning a ski holiday, get on their website and book early—you won’t regret it!

Jerome is the best ski teacher I have ever met. He was so motivating and brought my self confidence back. With his leadership we were a great team and it is great to know he will never leave you behind. And one of the most important thing is his English fluency especially if you are a beginnner. Jerome showed an empathy that how you feel while learning. He was my chance.
Turkuler U — Google review
Me and my brother had 3 hours of private lessons with Chris B. and it was amazing. In just a few minutes we were able to improve our technique with all his tips and calm explanations. Thank you very much for everything Chris, for sure we will come back and ask for you in our next lessons!

My experience with ESF at Alpe D’Huez was brilliant. I booked on to Adult Beginner Ski School for a week in March. 6 mornings on the snow, learning basic snow ski skills, using lifts and having fun. The Instructor, Thalassa, was great, supportive and encouraging. I would highly recommend booking with ESF, and if you can ask for Thalassa!
Megan M — Google review
I had 6 days of ski school with a French instructor named William. He was very professional, incredible at explaining the theory, and he was super kind. He surely created a great atmosphere in the ski school class. I give William and ESF my warmest recommendations.
Karoline S — Google review
Insanely good lessons with Antoine ( hope I spelt correctly). Very simple explanations of fundamentals of ski technique and muscles used which really connected the dots for me. I have only done 3 seasons and somehow he’s got me confident with reds and I have now safely and in controlled completed 3 blacks runs using the techniques he taught me which was a bonus as never expected that! I have never felt so chilled skiing Thankyou!!!
Sharon M — Google review
Such a good ski school. I have booked lessons for my two daughters and for myself. Little girls absolutely loved it and completed their weeks course with theirs fabulous ski instructor ladies. My instructor was Ettiene and he was so patient and engaging. I haven't completed mine, missed three days as I was unfortunately ill on holiday and didn't have any energy to get up that early every day,but will be definitely recommending this to everyone.

If you've ridden from St Michel de Maurienne you know. What can I say about this iconic cycle climb it's rock hard but boy the views are well worth the pain.
Chris T — Google review
Breathtaking landscape and view! We drove up the Col du Galibier, which was kinda scary at some point bc the street is incredibly narrow. As we drove up the mountain you would see many bikers struggling to get up this mountain, they of course made it! We stopped the care midway and hiked the remainder of the mountain. As we got on top we probably took about 30 min to take in this view. It was an incredible journey and totally worth it!!
Dalem — Google review
Ride up here with your bicycle! Stunning views on the top as a reward. Additionally, a spectacular descent on mostly very good roads.
Michel S — Google review
As a cyclist this is one of the highlights of my trip to France. It's a bloody hard climb, but so rewarding at the top for the views. I rode it in October, at the top it said 1c of my Wahoo so it made the descent quite cold.
Jonny B — Google review
Top of a Tour De France climb. Well worth the effort to get there. Views are spectacular and the descent is awesome. Give it a go.
Mark H — Google review
Southern part of the French Alps (Graic Alps). Dream Pass for a biking challenge. 43 kilometers, over 2,000 meters of altitude difference and 2,642 at the highest point. Snow stays there all year round, the air is crisp that you want to climb up and you need only good weather to admire the three thousand meters around (Grand Galibier, Pic des Trois Eveches, Arves massif). The mountain pass is the highest point of the Tour de France .

One of the most underrated ski resorts. It is vast and has everything, from easy routes, to off piste of all kinds: forests, coulours, easy hills just off the main tracks. Lots of ski touring in every valley. La grave just 30 min drive. Ice climbing also reachable by car

Great service from Mr. Fabien ARNAUD! He helped us to find the accommodation, answered all our questions a.s.a.p. and provided us with confidence that, once there, we will be able to ask for and receive assistance if needed. It will be our first time skiing in France and it probably wouldn't happen without the support from Fabien.

Wonderful ski resort with a lot to give... Hope to see you soon... A lot of great slopes, black slopes usually are not groomed and you should be cautious, Luc Alphand is well prepared black amazing slope, red are great, blue is for everyone and there is also green slopes / roads that literally goes thru a village... Amazing breathtaking scenery...

It's a great ski area. Plenty of runs, across the full spectrum of difficulty and terrain, served by a good lift system. The people are friendly, the mountains are high and the food is good.

Wonderful place to go for winter sports! If the weather is good then you can take the télésiège to the top of Serre Chevalier where you can get some amazing pictures. However if the weather is bad, there are many local activities to take part in. In terms of restaurants, there is a large selection of local restaurants from pizzarias to crêperies. At the bottom of the Villeneuve slope there is also an amazing Après-ski restaurant with kind staff members who tell funny jokes! 5 stars from me. Joyeux 80 ans !

On piste at Valloire, couldn't be better!

Rooms are small but cozy. The views are spectacular, however service is really poor. You have to bring, replace and return sheets yourself, there is no soap, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, shower gel, cotton swabs, shampoo, nothing at all, you have to buy everything. The knives and cups are old and very poor quality. The shower hose also was partly broken.
Matas G — Google review
Great chalet for wintersports, close to the piste and a short walk or bus ride to the centre of Valloire. The appartment was roomy and clean. Furniture was on the old side but still very usable.

Enjoyed our time in this apartment complex. The check in was somewhat organised in the French way. We had to wait far to long. After that everything was good. Nice warm swimming pool. Ski piste was on the backside of the appartment. From there a few minutes to the telecabin. Perfect spot.

Military Museums
Forte Bramafam, constructed between 1885 and 1894 to oversee the Frejus Gallery, served a defensive role during World War II as the seat of the 516th Border Guard Battery. The fortification features a stone structure with a concrete cover and houses an extensive collection of howitzers, artillery pieces, and military memorabilia from both World War I and World War II. Visitors can explore newspapers from the WWII era, providing insight into fascist propaganda at that time.
Great place to visit. Lots of history, weapon and ammunition of WW1 and WW2, plans and structures of batteries and forts in the area. Friendly personal. Yes, everything in Italian, of course. 2km of off-road to access, but still doable with normal car. 8 EUR per person - very good price for such a huge exposition
Sergii R — Google review
Do not miss this place. Managed completely by volunteers, this is an historical and military museum, extremely well curated.

They did an amazing job restoring this fort. If you are going to visit one Italian Alpine fort go here because the museum is comprehensive.
Douglas A — Google review
Complete and interesting, a unique place!
Andrea M — Google review
Nice experience, the best part is reading newspapers from the WW2 period (understanding of Italian required). Trading them in hindsight is a great way to realize how deep was the fascist propaganda at the time, there is no account of any loss, only triumphalistic announces, even when the axis was losing ground. There is a great collection of howitzers and other artillery pieces, from the invention of the rifled barrel onwards. For those who like this kind of weapons, it's most definitely worth a visit. For those who don't, the view from the top might be enough to compensate.
Danilo P — Google review
A must for anyone with an interest in military history; in fact, in history tout court. Each year the collection gets richer, thanks to the admirable work of the volunteers.

Val Thorens is a ski resort located in Europe, established in 1971. It sits at the highest altitude and offers top-notch ski slopes, terrain parks and modern lifts. The town is considered as the hub of skiing in Europe, with a variety of ski runs that cater to different preferences. Visitors can choose their speed, turns and scenic view before hopping on one of the high-tech lifts available.
This ski resort had so much to enjoy from a skiing perspective and a general good time. There are lots of different runs, ski schools and places to eat on the beautiful mountains. I was unlucky enough to require medical assistance but even that didn’t disappoint, everyone was super great and very friendly.
Siobhan B — Google review
Amazing ski destination – whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it here! From easy, chill slopes to wild, uneven runs. The views of the surrounding mountains are absolutely stunning, and the snow conditions are excellent. I did miss having more trees around, as the landscape is very open and a bit desolate – though some people might actually prefer that. If you’re into partying, the town has some great spots – especially if you’re Danish! Just head to Café Snesko – you’re going to love it.
Thomas G — Google review
A very good ski resort. From beginners to advanced skiers, you can find good trails that will suit you. Also a very nice apres ski. Lots of hotels offers ski-in ski-out. Val thorens offers ski options when other ski resorts are already closed for the season.
Sigal S — Google review
Val Thorens has a great vibe, there are lots of amazing hotels and bars/restaurants. Shopping is easy with lots of convenience stores and also lots of specialist winter sports stores for all your skiing and snowboarding needs; though be prepared to pay a small (5-10% in my experience) resort premium on purchases here versus high street prices. Internet shopping is clearly the best option before arriving to make sure you get the best prices on equipment. Aside from the great bars and eateries, Val Thorens also has one or two slopes that you can ski and board on. Being a part of 3 Valleys it's a part of the largest ski resort in the world with hundreds of kilometers of groomed slopes. I love the ease of navigating around the resort using the many many lifts. There are runs for all levels, though if you're a complete beginner you may lack variety as there are relatively few green runs compared to other resorts. That being said, there are plenty of blues that are very manageable for beginners. Being at altitude I've found the snow quality and quantity to be better than other resorts in the area, including the 3 Valleys resorts of Courchevel and Meribel. Being lower they can often suffer with either slushy or icy conditions much more so that Val Thorens seems to. Final observation is that Val Thorens is an all ages resort. It doesn't matter if you're a family, young, old, or anywhere in between, Val Thorens has something for everyone, and all coexist peacefully.

The Perfect Destination for Skiing and Relaxation I recently visited this mountain, and I can confidently say it’s a paradise for ski and nature lovers! The area boasts an impressive number of ski slopes, suitable for all levels – from beginners to advanced skiers. The slopes are wide, well-maintained, and offer a safe skiing experience, making every moment on the mountain truly enjoyable. They are impeccably groomed daily, and the snow quality is excellent, no matter the weather. Beyond the slopes, the resort features cozy relaxation areas. The comfortable cabins, cafés with breathtaking views, and heated terraces provide the perfect spot to unwind between ski sessions. Whether you’re passionate about winter sports or just looking for a peaceful retreat in nature, this destination offers the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. I highly recommend it!

Val Thorens – Where the mountains are majestic and the buildings… aren’t Let’s be honest: Val Thorens is like dating someone with a stunning personality and a questionable wardrobe. The mountains? Absolutely breathtaking. Snow-draped peaks, endless ski runs, and views that make you forget your Wi-Fi password. Nature here is working overtime. And then… there’s the village. The buildings? Imagine 1970s concrete met a ski resort brochure and said, “Let’s do brutalism, but make it beige.” It’s like someone tried to stack shoeboxes in a snowstorm and called it urban planning. Charming? Not exactly. Functional? Sure. Photogenic? Only if you crop aggressively. But hey – you’re not here for the architecture. You’re here to ski, après-ski, and maybe pretend you’re in a Bond film while sipping overpriced vin chaud. And for that, Val Thorens delivers. Just don’t look too hard at the hotel façade on your way down the slope.

Great skiing area. Really enjoyed it. Not pretty in the villages but well makes up for that with the slopes.
Michael D — Google review
At 2350m, snow is not yet an issue. The station is geared towards skiing and cater mainly to an international clientele. British and Dutch mainly. It has the trappings of a small French town with fresh breads, some cafes for drinks and meals but remains a very touristic area. Perfect for skiing. Going to the piste is relatively easy.

Prosneige offers a variety of ski lessons for different age groups and skill levels. The instructors are highly praised for their ability to improve skiing techniques and boost confidence on the slopes. Private lessons are also available, providing clear and useful feedback to correct skiing techniques and explore off-piste adventures. Additionally, Prosneige's team is commended for their exceptional customer service, particularly in fitting ski boots perfectly even for those with specific requirements like wide calves and small feet.
-Great experience for Ski bootfitting thanks to Cedric craftmanship and expertise. Got a pair of Fisher RC4 Pro MV130 which have been a pleasure to ski with the whole 2 weeks. THANK YOU. The same feedback from my sister-in-law with a pair fitted by Jeremy. -Great experience with the purchase (for our whole family) of several ski jackets, underlayers, gloves, helmets, goggles, ect. Thank you for Guillaume and Sandrine super sweet character and immense kindness. Top lads ! -Super poor experience with the purchase of 2 pairs of premium skis (Buttner Heida and Nordica Enforcer 96). When one buys 2 pairs for more than 3K Euros, he expects no drama. The Buttner were having faulty plates and the Enforcer were mounted with the bindings going sideways by more than 4mm. ProsNeige changed both after realizing these were having some obvious issues and I am very grateful for the same. Overall, I recommend PRONEIGE for anyone looking for a proper bootfitting and great ski apparel. Both teams are great professionals. For ski purchase, I was not convinced for obvious reasons unless I was very unlucky to have both pairs mounted by the same amateur (...)

The best ski school and instructors, I arrived as a really nervous absolute beginner and Milan taught me the essentials along with building my confidence. He adapted the lessons as I was progressing and was extremely patient. I can’t rate highly enough. I even booked more lessons throughout the week and I enjoyed them so much. Thanks Milan.

We were lucky to have Elian Leonhart as our guide on the EGSW hosted groups . He was very flexible, helpful and attentive to all the skiers needs and requests and the best guide I have had in over 10 years. Merci bien .

Very grateful for the service by max and Jeremy. Bought a pair of boots here, was thoroughly impressed by the level of detail that was put into getting a pair that I felt were the right fit for me. After a few days of skiing I had to get the boots readjusted and everything was perfect. They helped me massively with tips to get the boots on properly and how to solve the problems I faced. Thank you very much - they were amazing.

Highly recommend using Prosneige for lessons. We had 6 snowboarding lessons with Charly and absolutely loved them! He provided really clear instructions, tips and demos for beginners and made lessons fun and varied, too. He kept the motivation up when I was struggling which was really important for me! Great instructor

It's a great Team and amazing experience. In particular for the boot fitting guys. You're talking to experts. Follow their lead as they take you through how it should feel and what to expect between comfort and performance. I love my boots . Best skiing ever following this. Thanks again!

Magic Ski and Snowboard School Val Thorens is highly praised for its exceptional ski instruction. The small group and person-centered approach of the instructors have led to significant improvements for many participants. The professionalism, experience, and kindness of the instructors, such as Michel and Luca, have left a lasting impression on the learners. Private lessons catered to various age groups have resulted in great progress and confidence building.
Michele and Christine are the most friendly, patient, and professional instructors I have ever met. Brought me and my family from absolute beginners to Level 2 in just 6 days. Truly gems, could not recommend Oxygen Ski enough!

We enrolled our 6-year-old child in the Oxygen ski school for a week and were very pleased! Our main goal was for her to improve her skiing, and the progress was simply amazing. Compared to other schools we've tried, the results here were significantly better—she became much more confident and skilled on the slopes. Huge thanks to the instructors! A minor downside was the lunch arrangement. Meals were served in a different hotel, and for young kids, carrying their gear and getting there wasn’t the easiest. They were likely assisted, but it still felt a bit inconvenient. Also, the food selection could be a bit more varied. Despite this, if we visit again, we’ll most likely choose Oxygen again—the quality of instruction here is truly outstanding!

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend This was our first season trying snowboarding, and we were really looking forward to a new and exciting experience. Unfortunately, our time with Oxygene ski and snowboarding school nearly ruined what should have been a special holiday. Despite spending a significant amount of money on lessons, the service we received was appalling. The instructor assigned to us, Daniel, was not only rude and condescending but also completely unprofessional. He was very impatient. Constantly mumble and utter something rude under his breath when me or my daughter fall over, when we didn't hear or understood his instructions. Understandably, we got nervous as it is our first time on the slopes. What’s most upsetting is that he used inappropriate and unacceptable language towards my 12-year-old daughter when I wasn’t present. This is beyond disappointing — it’s infuriating. We call it a quit after the second lessons. I had hoped this company would provide supportive, family-friendly instruction, especially for beginners, but that could not be further from our experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel strongly that others should be warned. There are many ski and snowboard schools out there — I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We went with Prosneige Ski School to continue with our lessons. They are far more better than Oxygene. Their customer service is top notch and the instructor that assigned to us was superb.

Great ski school with fantastic instructors. Small groups guaranteed and of the numbers get slightly high, they add another instructor which is win win! Enzo, FX and Edison were all individually brilliant! They move you up midweek if you improve and the spontaneous hot chocolates were an unexpected bonus! Will be back next year, thanks Oxygene!

We used the Oxygene Ski School in Val Thorens for kids and adults group classes. The classes were brilliant and we improved over the week. The instructors were patient and Francesco was amazing on the first day helping us all settle in. Our kids loved the classes and are keen to return next year. The kids still talk about their sessions and their instructors Enzo and Oscar.

I just got back from a ski trip, and wow, what a turnaround! I've always thought skiing wasn't for me after a pretty rough experience a few years back. But when my friends planned this January getaway, I was hesitant but decided to give it another shot. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, the receptionist mentioned this company called Oxygène . She raved about how they're a small business that genuinely cares for their clients, and I figured, why not trust her? So, I booked a class with Enzo, my instructor for the entire week. On the first day, we tackled a blue slope, and I was amazed at how much my confidence grew. By the end of that first class, I was actually conquering my fears! The second day was even better; I was already navigating blue slopes and starting to feel like a skier. Enzo was incredible—his support and encouragement made skiing feel effortless. Fast forward to the last day, and I found myself zooming down blue and red slopes with my friend, feeling like a pro! It's all thanks to Enzo’s tips and tricks that helped me build my confidence. I can't recommend him enough! If you're on the fence about skiing, give it a try, especially with someone like Enzo guiding you. You might just surprise yourself!
Simona L — Google review
Booked a 4hr off piste guided lesson, our instructor was Daniele, and I can't rate this experience highly enough, everything was covered from general improvement of our techniques, off piste runs and equipment, plus some freestyle tips and lessons. So much time was taken to explain everything, and how it all effects the way you move the board. A lot of emphasis was put on the fact that this is a bidirectional sport and the improvements that can be made by being bidirectional, which really opened the idea up for more us. 11/10 top class day!
Jack B — Google review
Amazing experience. Super approachable, professional, flexible and professional instructor. Really accommodating office staff. Both myself and my 12 year old son took private lessons. He was encouraged and pushed to grow in confidence, being able to go up and down the nursery slops and use the ‘magic carpets’ fully independently by then of the second lesson. Thank you Luca. Can’t wait to keep on learning next year!

Exilles is a historical fort with references dating back to 1155, when it was under the control of the accounts of Albon. Throughout history, it faced disputes and was eventually destroyed by French troops in 1796. Visitors find the fort magnificent and impressive due to its location and size. However, some express disappointment that guided tours are only available in Italian and that explanatory panels inside are also in Italian.
Very interesting place. Sadly it is very much empty now but the museum part is very interesting. Nicely placed, worth to po in, have a look and go for a walk. It's used as a cultural place as well, it was prepared for some concert / festival at the time of our visit. Toilet, gift shop and coffee shop are also there .

Plage d'Angon, also known as the Beach of Angon, is a picturesque pebble beach located by a large lake in France. The area offers a gently sloping descent into the water, making it perfect for beach activities like volleyball and picnics. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the turquoise water and surrounding mountains while relaxing on the green grassy areas. Accessible by bus from Annecy Train Station, this natural attraction is popular among both locals and tourists.
Beautiful place to go swimming with guarded beaches in the summertime from 12:30 and a beach bar with very tasty baguettes and treats. Parking is simple and easy and spacious. If you forget your swimming goggles you can ask the life guards and they often have some they can lend you!
Leonie W — Google review
Lovely beach on the side of lake Annecy. Quieter than some of the others. Shade under trees and great cafe. Easy (paid) parking.
Naomi G — Google review
Best beach I could find around lake Annecy. There is lots of shade, grass, toilet, small restaurant, little stream and more. The water is amazing especially when it's so hot. There were 3 lifeguards which was great. Recommend!
Hillel M — Google review
Such a little gem. Appears it's well known by the locals. You have the options of relaxed in the lake waters which was quite warm, or for younger children then can play in the nearby stream that helps feed the lake. You also have a small cafe that is reasonably priced for snacks and drinks. You can easily spend the whole afternoon here

Great beach to swim and paddle board from. Shade available from trees if needed and small bar / restaurant open all day. However above all a fantastic view.
Andy Y — Google review
We came in the summer of 2024, there are many visitors but still tolerable. The beach is beautiful and free/gratis. Some reviews said that it's a paid beach but we did not pay anything. It's also a supervised beach by guardians. The closest parking is a paid parking but we found another parking which was free, only 10 mins by walk. There is a small bar to buy drinks/food. Free toilets are also available near the area.

The Arco di Augusto in Susa is widely considered to be the finest arch in the area. Its grandeur and historical significance make it a must-visit destination. Erected during Octavius Augustus' reign, this monumental structure holds immense importance. The town itself offers limited attractions, but it exudes an intriguing charm worth exploring. Additionally, visitors can delve into history by visiting the nearby Roman Amphitheatre and witnessing the ancient gateway to Gaul.
The Arch of Augustus is definitely a thing to see considering it's pristine conservation after 20 centuries! Plus the surroundings with the castle, the aqueduct and the scenic view of the mountains makes it unique.

Apart from the wonderful natural scenery there are also some marvellous buildings, old and new, including the wooden church.

Very beautiful road! Altitude 2085 m. The term "Mont Cenis" could be derived from mont des cendres ("mountain of ashes"). According to tradition, following a forest fire, a great quantity of ashes accumulated on the ground, thus the name. The path of ashes was found during the building work of the route.

Not only did we get fantastic ski & snowboard equipment but my wife & son also had several days of group ski & snowboard classes which they loved 👏🏼 Oxygene is for sure the best in La Plagne & now in a lot of other resorts across France. I recommend also trying the Electric Snow Bikes as I went with my son & the tour was a blast & the guide was super friendly & Profesional. Once again thanks to Oxygene Ski Snowboard bike for a great vacation 🤝 100% Recomended 🤙

Amazing Ski School! Our family have had the best experience with Oxygene. Christelle taught our daughter to ski at 2 years old with both group and private lessons, Now she skis confidently on the blues at 3 years old. Christelle and lea make the ski lessons fun whilst prioritising safety. I had a adult private lesson with Morgan too which helped me rectify a few bad habits. 👏👍🏻

My daughter had 6 private lessons with Guillaume and it did not disappoint. The improvement and progression for her was remarkable with the 1-2-1 coaching. So much so we have booked the same again in April to continue her coaching with the same instructor

I took private lessons with Oxygen and it went very well! Big thank you to the instructor Alex, he helped to increase my confidence in skiing, as I am a beginner. It was the first time for me to go all the way down from the top of the mountain, amazing experience! As a big advantage was the free shuttle from Aime 2000 to the school.

His friendly and encouraging approach made the lessons enjoyable, and we both made great progress. Highly recommend François for anyone looking to improve their skiing skills!

We booked private lessons for our two boys, ages 4 and 7, with Christelle. I was so nervous, particularly about leaving my youngest who can be a handful, but she was so reassuring and immediately had a great rapport with the children. I felt that the children were really safe in her hands. They progressed so much and they absolutely loved her! She also sent me lots of photos and videos of them in their lessons. We will definitely book again with Oxygène if we come back. We will request Christelle!

La Plagne is a renowned ski resort that offers a variety of winter activities, including a terrain park and options for dining and entertainment. The journey to the mountain road is surprisingly manageable, with expansive views along the way. As you approach the ski villages, you'll notice modest ski lifts catering to local day visitors before encountering more upscale signage and accommodations as you delve deeper into La Plagne's extensive skiing area.
A stunning ski resort! The natural surroundings are breathtaking, and the slopes are fantastic. There is an extensive variety of runs suitable for all skill levels, ensuring everyone can find something they enjoy. The resort offers a wide range of activities beyond skiing, so there’s always something to do. Waiting times for lifts are generally minimal, which is a big plus. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, making it an ideal place to unwind and truly enjoy skiing. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great skiing experience at La Plagne!

Arguably one of the ugliest ski resorts in the French alps, however, this is in stark contrast to the excellent ski area, fast lifts and varied terrain. If you are an avid skier or snowboarder this is one of if not the best resort in the alps to visit.

Beautiful well designed apartments for skiers and walkers (depending on the season). Beautiful views of the mountains and lifts (depending on which side you're on I suppose). The apartments are compact but with 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bunks and a double sofa bed, with ease you could fit 8 people in ours. Galley style kitchen is best suited to one person cooking at a time so pre-plan to share the cooking duties if possible. Good extractor fan and each apartment is well appointed with plates and cutlery for 16 (2 meals a day) and a dishwasher as well as breakfast bowls and a host of utensils. We were only short a grater and a potato masher (apparently not French essentials). There a multiple lifts to various parts of the buildings as well as a lot of basement bootrooms/lockers to store your boots and skis and keep your apartment dry. The complex has a code entry to the pool, when you want access - daytime only (closes at 7) and no access on Saturday (change over day) with a new code each week. A 5 minute walk to the local Spar shop makes this a very convenient location with a Restaurant next door to the Spar as well as one opposite the entrance to Lagranges. The Ski and board hire shop is spitting distant from the complex check-in with convenient ski racks located around to stash your skis whilst you buy passes or snacks. The ski-pass system is very flexible at the resort with options for beginners being circa €35 a day, half day options, full resort passes, multi-resort passes and a pedestrian access pass to access the top of glacier via bubble lift for only €8! Superb. The resort is at 1800m so well above the snowline with easy access up to 3000m for fresher snow more often. Snowed again just as we left so if you're looking right now it's perfect for a last minute get away (9/01/23) enjoy! Back again for New Year 2024 - snowed every day so far and the trails are well groomed. Swimming Pool has been renovated as well as the wooden features across the resort.

Great ski resort especially if your using a motorhome parked right next to the main run back to La Plagne. Electric at the end of every row (which didnt trip once) and water is located at a hut at the entrance of site (short slippery walk). The while of thus network is mostly made up of about 70% blues 25% Reds and 5%blacks although many of the blues are more red like. Some great places to eat around the area but it is pricey.. €9-11 a pint !!! Food is around normally UK prices. The roads leading up the mountain to Villages was always mint ( the French know how todo it) the only time we had to put chains on was at the start of the aire as its not as well maintained as the main roads. I'd defo go back to this site and la plagne.

(Translated by Google) I had a fantastic experience at this rafting club. The staff all radiate enthusiasm and passion, and they know how to convey this to their guests. Some staff members can speak English perfectly. Parking is free in the vast grounds of the swimming lake, including right in front of the rafting club. Yes, rafting is expensive everywhere, but it's a fantastic experience. You'll be rafting with about 8 people in a boat on a river with good speed. Definitely not boring and not too rough, so it's also perfect for children. Note that it's for ages 8 and up, but it would actually be better for ages 10 and up. This is due to the force of paddling and the fact that you can sometimes bounce quite a bit (but still manageable!). You'll receive plenty of instruction, and there's a short break along the way so you can jump off a rock or swim for a bit. Our instructor, who speaks excellent English, shared our enthusiasm and deserves a compliment. This club is highly recommended! Afterward, you can relax on the beach or in the grass by the swimming lake.

ML was an amazing instructor, giving my teenage daughters the confidence they needed to really enjoy a morning rafting from Landry, and kindly speaking in English as well as French. The river was spectacular, with some good class 3 and 4 rapids, and a 5m cliff jump, surrounded by beautiful scenery including a dramatic gorge, an eagle’s nest and evidence of beavers too. A massive thanks to ML and the team for an unforgettable day. You made us very happy! James, Flora and Annabelle

We would like to thank Alexandre for the great adventure! He helped us really good. We spotted a beautiful chamois on the mountain. We could see him climb and eat the tree leaves. We had a swim and a great 5m high jump into the cold water. Thank you so much for those great memories that will stay forever. We love rafting, la douce france, kisses from Belgium

A truly exhilarating experience. Martin (ML), was our instructor and he could not have been more reassuring to those on the boat with less confidence and who were a bit apprehensive. He was highly knowledgeable of the water and made us all feel safe. On the rapid sections Martin used clear and concise commands which were easy to follow and on the calmer sections we enjoyed Martin’s local knowledge of the river ecosystem and history of the area. 5 stars all-round and highly recommend.

Such a great day!! Super easy to get to. Supplied everything we needed, boots, wetsuit and top with plenty of sizes. The guide Thibaut was wonderful speaking in English and French all whilst steering the raft. We did the “active” experience which involved some decent drops and splashes along the way.

We spent half a day white water rafting with Evo2 in Landry a week ago and had an amazing experience. Very professional set-up and great instructors. ML was excellent and gave us full confidence and special mention to our instructor Myrtille who was brilliant, positive and fun. Myself and my 3 children (aged 10, 12, 14) had the best experience (including the cliff jumps!) and could not fault it. It was our highlight activity from a fun-packed week in Tignes. Thank you to all the staff. Would highly recommend.

Experience the thrill of speed and twists on the Mountain Twister at Les Saisies resort. This rail tobogganing attraction offers a rollercoaster-like ride down the mountain slopes, providing an exhilarating experience and a unique perspective of the surrounding scenery. Whether you're with family or friends, you can enjoy this activity together, as two people can ride on a luge at once. The affordable pricing makes it accessible for everyone, and visitors have praised its quick lines and enjoyable nature.
I refused to use the brakes and only thought I was going to get thrown out twice. 5 stars.

Absolutely great exciting fun, for children and adults too. All ages. You can choose your level of excitement and thrill, by increasing or decreasing the speed. No danger, you can never fall out the twister with the cart, so just go to the max!

Hold onto your mittens—this alpine adrenaline noodle will twist your soul into a pretzel and leave your cheeks wind-whipped from grinning. The Mountain Toboggan Twister is a gravity-defying, every bend feels like it was designed by a caffeinated mountain goat. Restaurant le Signal is located at the second bubble lift up the mountain, making it a great meeting point with stunning views and access to various runs across the mountain. While it can get busy, once on the piste, it offers a fabulous experience for beginners with highlighted routes on green and blue pistes. The staff is polite and speaks English well, offering delicious food including a special cheeseburger that's highly recommended.
The cheese burger was really good and better tasting than in many other places i have been. The portion was big enough to satisfy the hungriest. The staff was really nice and polite, they spoke really well english which is a plus. Overall, a really nice experience eating at this place. I recomand it

Little St Bernard Pass, also known as Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo, is a high-elevation route that offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. The area boasts ancient stone relics at the summit and a botanical garden. It has been inhabited and frequented in various historical eras, leaving behind intriguing traces for visitors to explore. One notable excursion leads to the stunning Verney Lake, created by glaciers and surrounded by mountain flowers.
Beautiful road! Not very high, but very beautiful. The Little St Bernard Pass (Italian: Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo) is a mountain pass in the Alps on the France–Italy border. Its saddle is at 2188 metres above sea level. It is located between Savoie, France, and Aosta Valley, Italy, to the south of the Mont Blanc Massif, exactly on the main alpine watershed.

Waterfalls
Rutor Falls is a stunning natural attraction that captivates visitors with its powerful and visually striking display of cascading water. The falls are particularly popular during the spring and summer months when the glacier melts, causing an increased water flow. A scenic trail crosses the falls, offering hikers an easy yet breathtaking experience as they encounter three distinct waterfalls along the way. The route also leads to Rifugio Albert Deffeyes, providing panoramic views of Mont Blanc, nearby glaciers, and lakes.
A beauty. Walking through the falls has been quite an experience. Kids will love it. The full walk stretches through the upper lake and gets to the root of the glacier. It takes 3 hours in total. Around 1000m from bottom to the top. Worth it.
Giacomo M — Google review
Amazing experience when you arrive at the third waterfall... 1.30 to 2 hours of hiking if you stop at each waterfall to take a photo :) The parking was a paid parking lot with 5 euros per day price but the machine was not working so no one paid! The bar was closed too when we arrived at the parking. But it was a wonderful experience.
Mohsen M — Google review
Relatively easy walk to get to the falls, culminating with a quite spectacular bridge that crosses the water. It's worth closing the path down with the ring path so as to avoid doing the same way twice
Thomas A — Google review
Worth the hike to the third waterfall. Stunning views. Lots of places to stop and rest if needed. Options for looping back down the other side. Loved it
Rachel D — Google review
This trail, that crosses Rutor falls is just wonderful. Really astonishing, impressive and clean nature plus the hike is very easy. It crosses 3 falls and there are plenty options to go such as all the way up to Rifugio Albert Deffeyes. On this route after the amazing falls you will find a beautiful green and moist valley. After that, it goes up another 346 meters and you can have a great view to Mont Blanc and many glaciers and lakes near by. It's a very special hike in Aosta Valley. Absolutely recommended if you search for something technically feasible and a rich, fascinating environment as well.
Miran H — Google review
One of the best footpath that you can do in La Thuile area, starting from la Joux the road is not so difficult, you don't need to be an expert climber but bring with you some water and a raincoat. The water shows is simply amazing especially at the 3rd waterfall. Recommended 👍👍👍

Really amazing. The falls are impressive. The hiking need to be prepared because is not so easy for the length and for the gradient. I suggest to take some water with you because till to the refuge is not possible to found any fountain. The cable bus from the Chamonix city with a change over in between takes you to the peak of Aiguille du Midi. This peak is exactly in the border of France and Italy. A 20 minutes journey of ten each takes you to the peak. To see the mont blanc, you have to take a pass like temporary visa to the italian side and from the peak to which a lift is taking you, you can see the mont blanc. There is also a glass cage with dead drop bottom. The view from the top is magnificient. It takes you to the view of entire iced surroundings. The mont blanc is the highest peak of Alps. More famous for limited edition pen. They are allowing a total of 2 and half hours to see and come back. On a sunny day, the views are beautiful. The climate is sometimes minus in the peak

Great view. It is worthy to jump off and hike from the top lift Brevent to the middle lift. It takes around 1 hour to hike including the picture time and coffee break.

If you have multipass, you can use this cable lift for free...You have to change lift in half of your way up to top, where is restaurant with breathtaking view to Mont Blanc and nearby mountains...Above restaurant is another place with 360 degree breathtaking views...

Google map info about the cable car stations around Chamonix sometimes could be confusing. This is the station to Le Brevent. Not very crowded during UTMB period in late August. I bought a Multi pass and rode immediately.

We’ve never had much luck with the Aiguille du Midi, either poor weather with no visibility or fully booked on the clear days. This lift proved to be an excellent alternative, with breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc range. From the summit, you don’t just get the Mont Blanc panorama but also, on a clear day you can see all the way to the Chartreuse near Grenoble and Chambéry. It’s not as high as the Aiguille du Midi (only 2525m), but it’s still a fantastic experience and well worth the trip. There are auberges at both stops for food or drinks, and watching the paragliders take off adds to the atmosphere.

The place is really beautiful, especially the flaine side. Amazing, with those views to Mont Blanc. Nice runs, if the snow is good then the ski experience is top. There were lots of people in the first week of march but we didn't have to wait for more than 5 min in any lift. Lifts are a bit slow I would say, but not a big deal. I really recommend this resort. Attached is a video of a black run, really fun (there is tons of blue runs also for a chilly ski)

Nice easy access to telecabine up to main ski area. Quite a lot of other lifts closed when I was there due to wind which cuts off access to the wider skiing areas of Flaine and makes return to Samöens difficult. However there is an excellent free bus service if you get stuck at other areas such as Morillon. So no need to panic!

Amazing place to spend your days. A bit crowded on holidays, but there's still a lot space to play.

We stayed with our family in Samoëns in August. A lovely town with lots going on in the summer. A very good market and a lake nearby with lots to do. The views alone are worth a visit and the mountains are all around you. Trips to Geneva and Chamonix are possible as well as nearer attractions. Lots of walks locally too.

The slopes were fantastic. It was icy initially but it snowed heavy for 2 days and made the skiing conditions great. Can walk out of the club med hotel and onto the slopes. Brilliant

What a gem this place is. Stayed in Les Carroz, but also skied Flaine. Would highly recommend it for new to intermediate skiers. I'm hoping to be lucky enough to visit again in the future.

Great resort for all abilities, close to Geneva and easily accessible via car or public transport. Ski canons provide snow coverage even in the worst of seasons. A number of ski touring routes are now open in all villages which are great. Also very family friendly resort with under 8 year olds ski for free!

One of the most beautiful gardens. In terms of the diversity of trees and different plants, as well as beautiful and diverse roses, it is also a pleasure to walk in this very beautiful garden.

One of the most beautiful botanic gardens I've seen. Laid out so naturally, including areas like an alpine meadow. A little bit wild but that's clearly intentional, as the gardener was editting the self-seeders when we were there. Plants are still labelled pretty well, which is great. It has an occasionally steep but smooth path to the top plus some brilliant off-the-beaten-track routes through some areas. And a few seats along the way for a breather, and views out to the mountains. Such an inspiration!
