DİNOPARK - Dino Lezzet Park

Mentioned on
4 lists
Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
Dinopark Antalya is a family-friendly theme park featuring a petting zoo, 7D dinosaur movies, an adventure park, and a splash pool. Visitors can enjoy exploring life-size animatronic dinosaurs and engaging in activities like zip line rides and water park fun. The park also includes a zoo, making it an ideal destination for families with young children who are fascinated by dinosaurs.
It's great place to visit with kids. We came early and it was quite and specious, but usually it is pretty busy. There are few food options points and pools for kids. Our kids were age 2 and 4 and absolutely loved it, last year our cousins age 9 and 16 loved it as well.
Галина Н — Google review
We visited with our 3-year-old son. I had read the negative reviews beforehand but didn’t take them seriously. Don’t make the same mistake! The park is ridiculously expensive. You can see everything in 2 hours, and it costs €25 per adult. For that price, you get to see a few dinosaurs that are somewhat run-down, with seating for children that is almost falling apart, and distressed animals that are clearly not well. Besides the absolutely terrible prices: • 10 minutes of electric car: 100 Lira • 10 minutes of digging: 150 Lira • 2 ice creams: 400 Lira The playground equipment is just rundown and dangerous. While the water in the pool was clean, there was a lot of dirt on the bottom, and the stones were extremely slippery. We will definitely never come back!!! For the money, it’s better to enjoy a nice meal and let the children play in a playground.
Nils — Google review
Went here for lunch as part of a tour, I can see in the summer this place would be a lot of fun for kids as several parts were closed up such as a small water park and some rides.
Ty ( — Google review
*WARNING* We took our son here as a break from our all inclusive. We stupidly didn't check the reviews first and can confirm much of the other reviews. There’s no ticket prices on their website and probably just make it up as they go. The place cost us €75 to enter with two adults and a 4 year old. We actually turned around and got back in the taxi but our 4 year old was distraught about leaving so decided to take the steep leap! We were met by a photographer who wanted to take a family photo and really wouldn’t take no for an answer. We didn't partake. We walked the dinosaur trail in about 45min. Most of the dinos are animatronic and pretty rundown and in disrepair. Everything was dirty and neglected. We visited the trampoline area which was neglected and and looked unsafe. The rest of the park was horrible and super expensive. Needless to say we cut the visit short and called our taxi back. We just tried to make the best of it for our son but don’t make the same mistake we did and read the reviews. Save your money and skip this one!
Sam A — Google review
£20GBP per person to get in. We arrived 3:45pm on a 23 degree hot Wednesday afternoon. Told before buying the tickets the place closed at 6pm but told ‘plenty time’ to check everything out. We walked around the whole place within 25mins inc stopping to take pics. No water park, not even 1 food place open, no where to grab a drink. Even tho paying £20 EACH (family of 2 adults and 3 kids under 7) to get in, then have to pay additional if you want to use the playground areas, trampolines, animal feed (to feed 3 goats) and donkey/horse rides. Devastated there was no water park as I actually brought swim suits and Towels with me as they advertise a waterpark. It’s a joke of a place and I would most definitely not reccomend. Waste of £100 and taxi fare.
Sabrina K — Google review
The dinosaurs are very good & very life-like. Sometimes a bit too life-like, a little boy was in tears. But they had an extra bit to walk through on the way out with lots of pieces of dead bodies, very scary for the children. The food was nice, but the toilets weren't the best
Sharon L — Google review
Very nice area with the restaurant. We started with a dinner of kabbab and fresh pomegranate juice and both are amazing. Then moved to the dino park with the kids and its very enjoyable with all the dino statues and info about them. A playground for kids available with many activities some are free others paid. A good place to have a break
Bassem M — Google review
Please save yourselves and avoid this place!!! My kids are slightly traumatized from the experience, and so am I. The dinosaurs are more or less fine but the rest of the park is extremely outdated and unsanitary, to say the least. Plus, the trampolines etc are definitely not safe. The worst 150€ spent (for 6 people).

Göynük Canyon

Mentioned on
1 list
Nature & Parks
Adventure sports center
The Goynuk Canyon Adventure Park is situated in a rough and rugged terrain, offering its visitors an array of thrilling activities such as zip lining, canyon safaris, and swimming in natural waterfalls. The location has breathtaking views which can easily be reached by a 50-minute walk with plenty of opportunities for taking pictures. It's also possible to observe fish in the nearby lakes.
It's a rather big canyon with coldish water running throughout it. There are various activities you have to pay a fee for (like rafting, zip line, boats, canyon viewing). But you can also pay a much cheaper fee to go in without paying for the activities and just swim in the lake. There is also many hiking grounds and rather expensive cafés and ice-cream parlours. Still, I would recommend going at least once.
Aslı A — Google review
Beautiful park overseeing the canyon. 1.9 km of trekking either through the forest (there is sign on the tree) or through the dirt road where there is many 4x4 driving with tourists both ways every few minutes but it didn’t bother us as the views were much better. At the end there are bars and restaurants and beautiful pond with turquoise water and view to the mountains and stream. Too commercial for us but nature is spectacular and there is few spots where you can find peace and quiet.
Karolina H — Google review
Definitely a must-see around Kemer. A beautiful canyon, stunning nature, and crystal-clear water. The trail is suitable for everyone — nothing challenging here. The entrance fee is $5 or 200 TRY. There are restaurants at the beginning and the end, but they’re quite expensive — a beer costs around $8. It’s worth coming early in the morning before the crowds arrive. We visited off-season, and there were only a few people besides us, but as we were leaving, tour buses started to arrive.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Must-Visit Natural Wonder in Antalya! Göynük Kanyon is absolutely breathtaking! Located near Kemer in Antalya, this hidden gem offers stunning natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and an unforgettable adventure for nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike. The hike through the canyon is both scenic and refreshing, surrounded by towering cliffs, lush greenery, and the soothing sound of flowing water. There are plenty of opportunities for swimming, zip-lining, and even canyoning if you're feeling adventurous. The cool mountain water is perfect for escaping the summer heat. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the area is well-maintained with clear signage and safety measures in place. The entry process was smooth, and there are facilities like lockers, changing rooms, and cafés available at the entrance. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful escape into nature, Göynük Kanyon is a must-visit. It’s one of the most beautiful spots in the region, and I’d highly recommend adding it to your Antalya itinerary!
Deniz S — Google review
Approx 5 km hike back and forth. Entrance 5 eur. All canyon is wired with zip-lines, they cost 25 eur, but I did not see anyone using them. At the very end of the route you can go rafting, also 25 eur. I did not so nothing to say about that. I have came on foot from Goynuk hotels area, that took me 3 hours with total 17 km (depends on location of your hotel), totally doable if you like and able to hike. Visited on 5th of November, not many people, cafes also already nor working.
Mindaugas J — Google review
Ziplining was amazing! For the boat trip you should really go in the morning, because of clearer waters. Very friendly staff. You should negotiate for buying the picture and videos tho. The food was very delicious.

Very, very beautiful. We came by minibus from Beldibi and walked. The views are stunning. There are cafes, toilets. I recommend everyone to go on a wonderful hike

The Land of Legends Kingdom

Nature & Parks
The Land of Legends Kingdom Hotel is a vibrant and relaxed resort with quirky and colorful rooms and suites. It offers a variety of restaurants and a water park, making it an ideal destination for families. The hotel provides numerous attractions for children, ensuring that they have an enjoyable experience. Guests can enjoy the breakfast and dinner buffets which offer a wide range of options. Additionally, the hotel is connected to a shopping avenue and theme parks, providing convenience for guests.
Two years ago, my family and I stayed at your hotel and were truly impressed by the excellent services and the wonderful facilities for children. The memories we made then stayed with us ever since. Returning this year was even more delightful. Everything has improved — the food was absolutely delicious, the variety of games and activities for kids was even richer, and the overall experience was simply exceptional for the whole family. I was especially pleased to notice more Arabic-speaking staff this time, which made our stay smoother and more comfortable. It’s clear that your team is always striving to enhance every detail for the guests’ comfort and happiness. Thank you for your continued dedication and warm hospitality. We will definitely come back next year, confident it will be yet another unforgettable experience — as you always manage to make it even better each time.
ابراهيم T — Google review
The place is absolutely stunning and extraordinarily exceptional. Unfortunately, choosing July for our stay turned out to be a poor decision due to the extremely hot and humid weather, which caused illness among the family, especially the children. However, aside from that—which is beyond human control—everything was simply magical. The price is high, but the services fully justify the cost. The staff were incredibly cooperative and friendly, showing great patience with the various situations and temperaments of the children. The price also included everything: water games, food and drinks, photos, the amusement park—all throughout the day without any additional charges. The team was quick to respond to every request, always helpful and efficient. Room services were excellent—no more than a few minutes would pass before the staff arrived to fulfill any request in all three rooms we stayed in. Our stay consisted of three rooms for four days. The evening festivals were wonderful, and the hotel is directly connected to a shopping mall that includes all the top brands. The pharmacy is open daily until 12:00 am. I was truly impressed by everything I experienced there. It’s a place worth visiting again, and I highly recommend it.
Rania A — Google review
The Land of Legends is truly an amazing place. While it is designed with children in mind, the scale and grandeur of the resort make it exceptional for all ages. The hotel itself is stunning, and there is an incredible variety of activities to enjoy. A few days here is simply not enough. Having visited Dubai several times, I can honestly say that Land of Legends surpasses those experiences—this has been by far our best holiday. That said, there are areas that really need improvement. The biggest issue is the lack of clear information provided to guests at check-in. Staff continually refer guests to “Guest Relations,” but unfortunately, the Guest Relations team does not seem adequately trained to explain the basics. Instead, they redirect guests to the mobile app. While the app is useful for making bookings, it is confusing and does not clearly outline what is included in the all-inclusive package, where things are located, and when activities take place. As a result, guests are left to figure everything out themselves, which is frustrating at the start of the holiday. However, once you do manage to work things out, the experience is truly unforgettable. Suggestion: Please create a clear welcome document or video guide for all guests, explaining in simple terms: What’s included in the all-inclusive package Dining and activity options (with times and locations) How to use the app effectively This would make a huge difference to the guest experience and allow everyone to enjoy the resort fully from the very beginning. Thank you.

We were extremely pleased with our stay at your hotel. Everything was so well organized, and all the staff were constantly working with great dedication. We were satisfied with everyone, but there was one employee we truly admired: Samet from Çorum. His kindness, positivity, warm smile, and the way he always checked in to ask if we were happy made us feel very welcome. Thank you, Samet — keep smiling! You added even more beauty to our unforgettable holiday. We would also like to thank The Land of Legends for giving our children such a wonderful vacation experience.

This is one of the best hotels that I have ever been. Everything was incredible and we had a splendid and joyful time at this hotel. The atmosphere was great you can reach everything easily. The staff was great too. We hadn’t encountered any problem or issue. Everything we ask for was easily solved. My children had a very good experience and definitely. We will visit this hotel again in the next summer. The price is a bit high. I think they can reduce their prices to help people stay more night at their hotel
Abdulrahman A — Google review
Brilliant place! We had a great time with our 4 children- there was something for every child (15 year old to 4 year old!). Special mention to the customer service manager at Kingdom hotel who dealt swiftly with a guest who had verbally abused my 11 year old daughter in the lifts. (She was on her own and had got into the lift with a English family - the adult man then swore at her, calling her f'ing rude, accusing her of pushing in!) I was very cross and my daughter really upset by the incident as she was sure she didnt push in- regardless an adult man shouldnt be swearing at a child! I complained to the front desk customer service, who promptly looked at the CCTV, confirmed the person /family with my daughter. Invited me later in the evening to advise that they had spoken to the guest who apologised and said he wasnt swearing at my child, but rather his own, apparently (!). The member of staff even bought a Maya the Bear toy for my daughter to make her feel better- which it did. Breakfast and Dinner at the hotel is great, a good selection and holiday club, though a little on the small side was comfortable and entertained the younger 2 (4 yrs and 8 yrs old) whilst the older 2 (15 years and 11 years old) could enjoy the bigger rides. Overall positive experience. And would recommend both Kingdom Hotel and Land of Legends.
N R — Google review
We had an amazing experience at the Kingdom Hotel, and a big part of that is thanks to Alihan from Guest Relations. From the very first moment, he was attentive, approachable, and always ready to help with anything we needed. No matter what the request was, Alihan always took his time, listened carefully, and found the best solution. You could really feel that he genuinely cares about the guests and wants to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. It makes such a difference when you know you can rely on someone at the hotel – and for us, Alihan was that person. If you ever stay here, make sure to reach out to him. He is truly the best and made our stay unforgettable. Thank you, Alihan
Sara G — Google review
Hotel was lovely, had great facilities and the staff were super helpful especially Ofran in the bar area. The only thing I would say that would have suited my family better would have been more snacks available and maybe some after dinner time too. My kids aren’t great eaters and struggle on holiday so usually snack more than having a meal and we didn’t find any snacks available throughout or stay other than the ice cream.

Waterfalls
Nestled on the eastern outskirts of Antalya, the Lower Duden Waterfalls are a stunning natural wonder that gracefully tumble into the Mediterranean Sea. Originating from the Duden River, which flows down from the Taurus Mountains, these waterfalls create a breathtaking spectacle as they cascade over cliffs surrounded by lush greenery. This picturesque destination is particularly enchanting in spring when water flow is at its peak, but it remains a captivating sight year-round.
A beautiful spot to come and see some amazing views where the river meets the med sea. Lots of places to sit, WiFi access. Grab a coffee, or a snack and take in the delights. This is probably one of my favourite places I visited in Antalya, and at 40°c....it was a magical place ✨️ ❤️
Emma — Google review
Beautiful natural wonder right by the Antalya coastline. The waterfalls drop directly into the Mediterranean, which makes for a stunning view, especially at sunset. You can enjoy the sight from nearby parks or take a boat tour for a closer look. Quite crowded during peak hours, but definitely worth visiting if you’re in Antalya.
Nafiz I — Google review
If you’re into a good walk, try walking from the center of Antalya to the Lower Düden Waterfalls. You’ll see a lot more of the city along the way, and the view at the end is beautiful! If you still have some energy left, you can continue to the sandy beach just behind it. I took the bus back and had a really nice day trip!
Rick J — Google review
Absolutely stunning beauty 🤗 If you are thinking to choose upper or lower please choose this but again my personal opinion. Beautiful has a park around to walk with lots of local vendors plus photo spots, zip liners and restaurant etc… A bit too sunny now so take water and cap/hat to protect from the heat and oh don’t forget the sunscreen, bath in it to guard from the harmful rays but otherwise definitely worth spending 2 hours looking around. You can easily access this place using local transport or taxi fyi. Definitely must visit in Antalya 👍
Preethi S — Google review
Worthwhile to see, but it’s a pity we didn’t see the boat to go under the waterfall. If you plan to come by bus, better to visit Lara Beach together with Duden waterfall, because bus KL08 can go to these two places. I heard upper Duden is pretty and has a cave. But did’t manage to visit it.

Breathtaking views of the waterfall, perfect for photos. You can also catch planes flying past. Shops on site for snacks and drinks. Zipline available on site. Worth visiting.

Breathtaking spot! 🌊 The Manavgat River meets the Mediterranean Sea in a stunning display, complete with a picturesque waterfall. 🌴 The contrast between fresh and saltwater is mesmerizing. Plus, the nearby parks and restaurants are a bonus. 👍 Highly recommend a visit!

Old Town Restaurant- KALEIÇI is located in the heart of Antalya's charming Old Town, surrounded by perfectly restored Ottoman mansions and cobblestone streets. The area offers a blend of historical and natural attractions, from ancient ruins like Phaselis and Aspendos to natural wonders such as Karain Cave and Duden Waterfalls. Visitors can explore boutique hotels, souvenir shops, art galleries, and restaurants while soaking up the old-world ambience.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the Old Town Restaurant. After being scammed on the first day of our trip, we looked on Google for a good restaurant. Luckily, we found one. We ate at the restaurant a few times during our six-day stay in Antalya, and it was absolutely fantastic every time. The food, the hygiene, the staff – it was all spot on. The boss is great. After we first visited, he offered us a big free salad each time, and Turkish tea, of course! Yes, Please! ! My kids are big fans of yours – you guys are doing a great job! If you're a first-time tourist, I'd recommend going straight to the Old Town Restaurant for your first meal. That way, you'll quickly learn what to expect from authentic Turkish food and Turkish people. No nonsense here!

Incredibly delicious Turkish food. Sedat is a great host and very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We highly enjoyed the aubergine with meat dish, Adana kebab, and chicken skewers which were all very flavourful, tender, and well cooked. The aubergine was sensational Everything was well seasoned and cooked nicely. The restaurant is also very clean and in a great location in the Old Town

Amazing service, very kind and helpful and honest staff. Both dishes were very tasty, juicy and fresh. The brought us free mezze and yoghurt dip with fresh bread before the food which were tasty as well. After lunch they brought us free tea which was very good too. They will recommend getting salad or soup, or the fresh juice which they also make instead of the bottled juice for example, but up selling is part of any good waiter's job, if you say no they're extremely respectful and polite about it of course. We came for the reviews and we were not let down, we were very vary of not getting scammed while dining in the center but instead they ended up charging us TOO LITTLE, and when I brought it up with the waiter and then the owner that we should be paying MORE they were super friendly and still charged us the lower amount, so we just tipped instead. Ibrahim was out waiter, and unlike other restaurants, these guys didn't ask us to review them but I feel like it's only fair to appreciate their good work amongst so many other tourist traps.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and authentically Turkish. The service was excellent, the staff were very welcoming and attentive. What made it even more special was that the owner kindly offered us tea and coffee at the end, free of charge – a lovely gesture of hospitality. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Good restaurant, good service. Went with my wife loved the food, the hosts are really friendly, welcoming. Suggest to have indoor seating as well as there is place inside too, which is unused. The heat can be difficult to have a nice meal.
Nafiz I — Google review
The adana and urfa kebabs are nice, the soups/lahmacun are good too. I had no issues but based on other peoples experiences check the prices I suppose Portions are a bit small for what you pay but I feel that's the case for most places in old town No free tea for me tho... Anyways my main issue was the shop guy opposite, must have smoked a whole forest as I was trying to enjoy my food

By far the BEST restaurant I’ve visited in Kaleiçi. Every dish is delicious, my personal favorite being the Beyti Kebab with yogurt. The Adana is amazing. The host is very genuine and uplifting, he’s got great energy and a great crew. You will feel very welcomed and you will enjoy your food 100%

Nature & Parks
Antalya Kaleiçi Ancient City & Marina is a charming maze of cobbled streets and narrow alleys, now home to boutique hotels, souvenir shops, art galleries, and restaurants. This ancient world atmosphere offers a lot of tourist attractions including a main square with a stone gate and clock tower. The Tekeli Muhammad Pasha mosque from the eighteenth century is worth visiting for its amazing designs and fragrant atmosphere.
A Stunning Historic Gem by the Sea Kaleiçi Marina is absolutely magical! Nestled in the heart of Antalya’s Old Town, this picturesque harbor is a perfect blend of history, charm, and coastal beauty. Surrounded by ancient city walls, colorful boats, and charming cafes, it feels like stepping into a Mediterranean postcard. The views of the turquoise sea and rugged cliffs are breathtaking, especially at sunset. It’s the perfect place to stroll, relax, or take a boat tour along the coast. The nearby shops and restaurants add to the lively, yet laid-back vibe. A must-visit when in Antalya—romantic, scenic, and full of character. Five stars all the way!

Great place to visit. The boat riding was an amazing experience. You will see beautiful sceneries during your boat trip.
Saeed A — Google review
The old port of Antalya, known as Antalya Kaleici Yat Limani, is a historic harbor located at the foot of the cliffs in the heart of the old town of Kaleici. It is the birthplace of Antalya and has retained the spirit of the past. The port was originally the city's main trading gateway for centuries, dating back to the 2nd century BC, welcoming ships from the ancient Romans to the Byzantines and Seljuks. Today, it is primarily a marina for yachts and tourist boats, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. The architecture of the port is a mix of Ottoman and Mediterranean styles, with stone buildings and cobblestone promenades. It offers one of the best panoramic views of the Antalya Bay and the Taurus Mountains. Today, the main activity is organizing boat trips, including tours to waterfalls, coastal excursions, and evening cruises. The area becomes particularly lively in the evening, when the lights are turned on and a romantic atmosphere is created. The port can be reached on foot through the cobbled streets of Kaleici, descending from the main gate of Hadran or down the stairs from Ataturk Boulevard. Historically, it was the economic center of the city, but with the relocation of the main port to the western part of the city in the 1980s, it has completely shifted its focus to tourism.

Kaleiçi is a breathtaking blend of history, culture, and scenic beauty. Walking through its charming narrow streets feels like stepping back in time, with beautifully preserved Ottoman-era houses, ancient ruins, and vibrant local shops. The atmosphere is magical, especially in the evening when the streets are lit up, creating a cozy and romantic vibe. The Yat Limanı (Marina) is equally stunning, offering picturesque views of the Mediterranean. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy a seaside meal, or take a boat tour to explore the coastline. The turquoise waters, combined with the backdrop of historic walls and lush greenery, make it a photographer’s paradise! Whether you're a history lover, a foodie, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Kaleiçi & the Marina have something for everyone. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Antalya! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Antalya Archaeology Museum, situated in the Konyaalti district of Antalya, is a vast Anatolian history museum that showcases an extensive collection of artifacts spanning over 5,000 years. With 13 exhibition halls and an open-air gallery covering more than 75,000 square feet, the museum displays archaeological finds from various periods including Roman, Phrygian, Byzantine and more.
Absolutely amazing museum to visit, so many relics of history. They have several languages available for audio guides, and they also have Turkish and English signs and descriptions. There's a cute gift shop at the end where you can also sit and rest up after walking around.
Aanikka H — Google review
The Antalya Archaeology Museum is a great place to explore, especially if you enjoy Roman history — they have an impressive collection of statues, mosaics, and artifacts. Entry is about 30 GBP per person for foreigners, which feels a bit expensive but the exhibits are well worth it. One thing to note: they try to sell you an audio guide at the entrance, but honestly, it’s not really worth the extra cost — the museum has plenty of written descriptions in English. Overall, a beautiful and rich museum experience, just be mindful of the extras.
Nabin N — Google review
Interesting and very well maintained museum, not too big - you will probably not get too tired :) Too expensive though...€15 for the entrance fee without the audio guide, which costs extra (€5-7)....And no WI-FI available for visitors..
Tatiana B — Google review
Outstanding museum, especially for statuary and sarcophagi from Perge and other nearby sites. The current price is 13 euro. The entrance is on Attaturk Cd.
Bob C — Google review
This museum tells us a great deal about Ancient Anatolians, Romans and Christians in general. There are amazing items and well made sculptures. Once you're done here you can take the nostalgic tram to visit Kaleici and continue your trip there
Ulaş G — Google review
It's interesting, the price for tourists is 15€, little high though, especially considering the size of exhibition and price for locals.. Opened every day. White peacocks and a lot of cats in the gardens outside.
Peter L — Google review
Definitely one of the best archaeological museums in Turkey, Roman statues are among the best in the world!
Planet H — Google review
I was a bit concerned about paying 15 Euros for what I supposed was a provincial museum. But, it's not a provincial museum full of stuff that didn't make the capital: it has room after room of awesome quality, life size and larger, statuary and reliefs. The trials of Hercules on several of the sarcophagi are awesome - fighting the lion, subduing Cerberus the three headed dog, chopping the hydra's head off, all that fun stuff. The cool thing here is you can get right up close without being shouted at, or alarms going off. You can feel the marble breathing. The prize possession, a resting Hercules, is tremendous. And, okay, so I haven't been to Rome and may be overexcited, but the head of Antinous is indeed beautiful enough to arrest an emperor (and the description with it refreshingly does not shy away from their love or Hadrian's publication of his grief after Antinous drowns in the Nile.) The collection is equally replete with both sensual and civic representations of women. In the patrician classes, women were in equal positions of power and the named sculptures here ooze intelligence and respect. (Quite a lot of the guys have, unfortunately, lost their special treasures during various iconoclastic periods, but there are still plenty to go round.) Beyond the statues, there are some early christian icons, including a reliquary of St Nicholas containing a supposed piece of his jawbone and skull (awesome - bits of Father Christmas - show that to the kids and see if they believe again!) And the galleries then flow into the garden for some desultory leftovers. A fine journey.

Antalya Aquarium

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Antalya Aquarium is a popular attraction near Konyaalti Beach, offering themed exhibits, a long tunnel tank, and tropical reptiles. It's known for being the largest aquarium tunnel in the world, making it a must-visit spot for families with children. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll while marveling at an impressive collection of marine life from various seas and oceans, including sharks and other aquatic animals like Sting Rays, Red Dragon Fish, and California Moray.
Worth the price. We paid roughly 30€ per person for the Aquarium part. Got to see some realy nice fish up close. The sharks were really nice. The big one was a beast to look at. If you want to take your time going through all the available aquariums, you will need roughly 2.5 hours.
YOMIGAERU — Google review
Visited on August 15, 2025. Paid 40 dollars per person as foreing citizens for just aquarium itself. If booked online via the aquarium’s official site in advance, it costs 36 dollars instead. Overall it was nice but it is a bit pricey for what it offered. It is home to the world’s largest tunnel aquarium, stretching 131 meters in length. Inside, visitors can marvel at a life-size airplane and shipwreck, while coming face to face with majestic sharks.
Ogtay I — Google review
I bought the full package for a family of three through our travelling agency with access to the Aquarium, Ice World, Wax Museum, Wild life and Cinema. Overall it was a good experience, but definitely more expensive than its actual worth. I guess the logic of the owners is that tourists are willing to pay more for something they will visit only once in their lifetime (typical Turkish bankrupt mentality). Of course, it wouldn't be Turkey if they wouldn't try to also fish some more money from you: at the entrance in the Aquarium, they take your photos and give you a card with a code bar. When you exit, you can only do it by scanning the code bar and they give you an option to purchase a series of photos for 50 euros or less for individual items (15 euros for a fridge magnet with your photo).
Stefan A — Google review
Antalya Aquarium is one of the Amazing places to see the indoor aquatic life. This aquarium have a great collection of different species of fishes. It has an indoor tunnel where U can see fishes from inside of tunnel. The amazing thing about the aquarium is it's buildup styl. At multiple positions, the big aquariums have old war ships which have drowned during war. Some old airplane statues most probably before 1940 version can be seen inside the aquariums. Furthermore, aquariums mimic sea environment as well
GUL K — Google review
The aquarium itself was very beautiful. Nothing too different from the others we've been, but still worth to visit if you're there. But the kids were absolutely amazed with the snow room. It's tiny, but has a few ice slides and a cosy little cafeteria.
Agnė Š — Google review
As others have mentioned, this place is massively overpriced for what it offers. We purchased the full tickets, but left feeling underwhelmed. The aquarium is small and unimpressive—probably the most interesting part is the “shark feeding”, though you’ll mostly see other fish with a few small sharks mixed in. There’s also an option to feed the sea rays (for an extra fee, of course), which some may find entertaining. The wildpark felt more like an adoption center for leftover reptiles, with a heavy focus on ball pythons. While there are some larger snakes like anacondas, the overall variety wasn’t much better than the aquarium. The Oceanride XD cinema was a decent addition and helped fill time between stops, but again, it’s overpriced for what you get. The wax museum wasn’t for me—some figures didn’t even resemble the real people. Overall, this feels like just another tourist trap in Turkey: high prices, minimal value. It might still appeal to those who haven’t traveled much, haven’t been to major aquariums/zoos, or simply don’t mind spending extra. But for most travelers, it’s not worth the time or money—you can safely skip it.
Nikolay G — Google review
The aquarium is nice, but honestly, I think it's overpriced. It has a lot of animals, but it's quite small — you only need around 30 minutes to complete the tour. Kids will love it though, and there's also a play area for them. However, I was really sad to see the penguins’ wings tied. I think that’s so cruel!
Ons — Google review
A great place to visit with kids! There's a wide variety of sea creatures from around the world, and the underwater tunnel is especially beautiful—it really gives you that immersive experience. One highlight is the impressive large shark, which was amazing to see up close. However, I do think they could add more types of fish, especially in the tunnel area. The ticket price is on the higher side; I've visited larger aquariums that were more affordable. Still, if you're in Antalya with children, it's definitely worth a visit.

Ancient Ruins
Termessos Ruins, located atop Güllük Mountain within the Mount Gulluk-Termessos National Park, offer a captivating experience for history enthusiasts and nature lovers. Accessible via hiking trails, this well-preserved Pisidian city sits over 1,000 feet above sea level and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The site features ancient ruins including a theater, tombs, baths, schools, and churches.
Fantastic place. A must see in Antalya. Entrance is about $2 per person. The entire path from the parking lot to the amphitheater is 3.5 km. The path to the amphitheater is constantly uphill and over rocks. It is difficult, but definitely worth it. Wear comfortable non-slip shoes.
DaVinciFX G — Google review
The place is in ruins, you will be walking through a jungle forest with large stones and pieces of column all around you. Occasionally, you’ll see a wall or an arch. There are a few exceptions to this, the most notable being the theater, which is in remarkably great shape given how the rest of the city fared, and the small temple of Artemis (not the one near the parking lot). The setting is amazing, once you get up to the higher levels, you can see that you’re sitting in a straddle of a few shorter peaks with great views down two large valleys. Bring hiking shoes, the town is about a Moderately steep hike up from the parking lot. It took me about 3 1/2 hours round-trip and I got to see most of what I wanted but not everything. I walked about 9000 steps and climbed 51 floors. So it’s not like many sites where you pull up to the parking lot walk a kilometer and see just about everything.
Trey C — Google review
The theater place at the border of a cliff worth the trip alone. Small hike from the parking, around 20min. Correct shoes needed and water.
Thomas L — Google review
Amazing place. Like Indiana Jones discovery. Fully natural with no manmade artifacts. One of the best ruins I have seen anywhere in Europe. It's a uphill ride from the entry gates which is about 5 km below. Then from the car park it's a 30 minutes walk up. Of this the first 10 minutes is tiring but after that it's all very exciting. A must visit.
Arun P — Google review
Best ruins I've ever been to. Go and hike up to the theatre. Whole place is stunning.
Hans F — Google review
Don’t visit the site, if you have an army like Alexander the Great did. He returned and went away from this eagle cradle. Otherwise with peacefull concerns Termessos calls you for a great experience in both, in history and in nature!
Zafer T — Google review
Must visit. But be prepared and take some water and snacks. Make sure to read about the place before you go as there is little to no info anywhere on the site.
Asya P — Google review
My lord this place was like no other ancient city I've visited in Turkey so far and I've been to more than 10+ now! There was so much still there lying as rubble on the floor, especially on what was the main street in the city, and it looks as though it has remained untouched for centuries since it was destroyed by earthquakes. But the piece de resistance was the largely intact remains of the theatre in the mountains, really magical and ethereal! Loved this place!

Inaccessible cave system inhabited by humans for thousands of years.
It was a very beautiful and unique cave, but it’s not recommended during the hotter months for people who can’t handle a bit of hiking, as it can get extremely hot and there’s a risk of heatstroke

472 steps later and breathless you go into the cave. They have lights inside and it looks marvelous. If you have the stamina to walk up the stairs it is worth it.

To climb to a serious height, you use a ladder for about half an hour. That's why I strongly recommend you to bring water with you. When you get to the top, you visit a cave with a natural habitat of bats and a truly unique natural beauty.

The Karain Caves in Turkey are a remarkable site that transports you back thousands of years. Once home to prehistoric humans, they hold ancient tools, carvings, and bones that reveal deep insights into early life. The atmosphere inside is both mysterious and awe-inspiring, with cool stone chambers echoing history. Surrounded by lush scenery and dramatic mountain views, the caves also offer a sense of adventure and discovery. Perfect for history enthusiasts, archaeology lovers, or travelers seeking a unique cultural experience, Karain Caves are a powerful reminder of humanity’s enduring story.

Karain Cave in Antalya is a bit far from downtown, but the journey there is really fun. The mountains around the cave are so beautiful and will capture your attention. Inside the cave, there are only bats and not much else, and it's a bit challenging to climb all the stairs to get up the mountain. But once you reach the top and look down, you'll have a great time enjoying the view.

Yazili Canyon National Park

National park
Outdoor Activities
Yazili Canyon National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, and photography amidst a forested river gorge. The park boasts historical significance as it was traversed by St. Paul and features ancient rock inscriptions and remnants of the Roman Imperial Road network. Visitors can explore the picturesque surroundings, including swimming holes along the river. While facilities are currently limited, ongoing construction indicates future amenities such as a restaurant, accommodation cabins, and restrooms.
This is a very beautiful atmospheric place with living nature with living water. And there you can swim or come with your family for a picnic. You can come alone for work or reflection, or just relax. There is practically no Internet there. But now they have built houses that you can rent for a day. A very beautiful and atmospheric place. With beautiful nature, a restaurant.
Димитрий М — Google review
Although the park is beautiful, there’s only one trail and it’s not even 2km long, for a “national park,” I was quite disappointed in the lack of hiking trails. There is a place there to buy cold beverages/snacks.

Walked all the way to the end of the path, just as the gorge turns right. Everyone we met was having fun. Water was very cold lower down, but comfortably cool (on a very hot day) a bit further up...

It is a beautiful place like many in Turkey, but what turist do with it... How stupid you need to be not to understand one simple rule: take back what you brought. We went there in the weekday, croved came about noon. Toilets are super dirty, broken , no toilet paper. Disgusting. I just walked 20 meters and collected 2 bags of trashes, including baby napkins. River is cool and clean as it goeas fast but everywhere you can see plastic bottles and mugs tangled into trees and roots. Everywhere are rules signs but no one cares. Please make turists be more responsible! It is time to punish them for their acting!

Sagalassos Archaeological Site is a remarkable ancient settlement that was inhabited until the 7th century CE. It stands out for its functioning fountain and stunning backdrop of mountains, reminiscent of Termessos. Visitors can explore the well-preserved ruins set within a mountain wilderness, with virtually no crowds to contend with. The site features a theater and a restored fountain in the main agora, offering an easily manageable visit in the morning or afternoon.
Beautiful remains of the ancient city of sagalassos. The forum with the fountain was spectacular, and the theatre ruins were beautiful. Also met a friendly cat who accompanied me with my own personal tour guide who gave me access to the mosaic room to see, very cool. Also grand views of the valley below! We always stop at this mall when we are travelling from Istanbul to Antalya and vice versa. It's a beautiful mall with lots of shopping and restaurant options.

This outlet is in the classy side of shopping in Turkey, don't expect the prices to be wonderfully fantastic for casual shopping, however, if you are targeting something in specific, you have higher chances of getting it cheaper here, even if it is just a few €/$. The area is clean and pleasant.

Aizanoi

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Aizanoi is a remarkable ancient city with well-reconstructed temples, including the impressive temple of Zeus. The cellar of the temple offers an intriguing experience with authentic music and lighting. The Cybele relief on the right side of the temple is gigantic and well-preserved. Notably, Aizanoi features one of the first representations of ancient stock markets. The amphitheater, known for its huge size and charming acoustics, is also a must-see.
Deep in the lands of Western Anatolia, behind the mountains, Aizanoi bedazzles you in its welcoming and majestic energy. The Temple is one of the greatest experiences you will have in Western Anatolia. So is the still standing marketplace with prices on the walls. Not a popular site, quite out of the way but Aizanoi is a must see!

A Hidden Wonder of Turkiye! Visiting Aizanoi Ancient City in Kutahya was an unforgettable experience – this site is a true hidden treasure for history lovers and travelers seeking something extraordinary. Aizanoi combines incredible architecture, rich history, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes exploring it a unique pleasure. Spectacular Temple of Zeus The Temple of Zeus is the crown jewel of Aizanoi, and it’s one of the best-preserved Roman temples in Turkiye. Its impressive columns and detailed architecture give you a sense of its ancient grandeur, and standing before it is a truly humbling experience. Walking around and through the temple, you can almost feel the weight of history in its stones. Ancient Theater and Stadium Another highlight of Aizanoi is the rare combination of a theater and stadium built side by side. The theater’s stone seats are still in fantastic condition, and imagining ancient events taking place there is easy. The stadium next door is equally impressive and offers panoramic views, making it a dream for photography and exploration. Peaceful Atmosphere and Natural Beauty Set in a tranquil area along the Penkalas River, Aizanoi feels like a peaceful retreat. It’s much less crowded than other ancient sites in Turkiye, which lets you explore at your own pace. Surrounded by nature, it’s easy to spend hours here, taking in both the beauty of the ruins and the quiet, scenic environment. Aizanoi Ancient City is a must-see for anyone traveling to Turkiye! Its well-preserved ruins, serene setting, and unique structures make it a remarkable experience that rivals more famous sites but without the crowds.

Aizanoi Ancient City Aizanoi Ancient City, located in Çavdarhisar district of Kütahya, Turkey, is an important archaeological site with a history dating back to the Phrygian, Roman and Byzantine periods. The city, where settlement began in the Phrygian region in 3000 BC, experienced its brightest age in the Roman period (2nd century BC). Aizanoi, thought to have taken its name from the mythological hero Azan, was founded around the Penkalas (Kocaçay) River. Phrygian Period: First traces of settlement in 3000 BC. Agricultural and trade center during the Phrygian period. Roman Period: Aizanoi, which came under Roman rule in the 2nd century BC, reached its peak in economic and cultural terms. Structures such as the Temple of Zeus, theater-stadium complex, agora, baths and bridges were built during this period. The city gained importance as a grain trade and religious center. Temple of Zeus: One of the best preserved Zeus temples in the world. Theatre-Stadium Complex: A unique architectural example, it could host 20,000 people at a time. Macellum: The world's first known stock exchange building. Roman Bridges: Two stone bridges still in use. It is one of the important ancient cities of Anatolia with its historical and architectural richness.

A few days ago I didn't even know this place existed! I was so overwhelmed by the size of this beautiful ancient city as I walked amongst the fallen ruins. It's absolutely incredible and it's the best preserved by far. There's a lot of exciting excavations still going on and will continue for years to come. Would love to come back again to see what else has been uncovered and restored. I could feel the energy from the past and I guess that's why I had goose bumps all over my body. I had no idea what to expect when going down the stairway to see underneath Zeus Tepmple and was abdolutely blown away with how preserved the sculptures, artefacts and inscriptions were, not to mention the aura. I feel the need to read up on the history of this ancient city and am so glad I decided to come and visit on my Birthday, August 11th. I had an amazing time here and highly recommend visiting. Allow at least 2-3 hours.
Travelz L — Google review
A must see in this part of Türkiye. This is the most preserved temple from the Roman empire, the temple underneath is breathtaking.

Vast area with an impressive Temple of Zeus, ruins of a bath and gymnasium and further away stadium and a theatre. The roads are now (spring 2023) under reconstruction so it is a bit confusing when you go there, but highly recommended. An old stone bridge (Penkalas Bridge) is near.

Kütahya Castle

Points of Interest & Landmarks
It was an enjoyable experience visiting this Castle. We took a taxi from the area close to the Hilton and cost us only 90 lira to get there. The views are breathtaking! 😍 There was a lovely cool breeze which we were grateful for while we sat and enjoyed our delicious Turkish coffee on this very hot day on August 12th while enjoying the view. By the time we left, I saw there were quite a few people coming to enjoy lunch inside the immaculate rotating dining area. It looked very inviting and would have liked to have stayed for lunch too, but unfortunately couldn't this time. It would have been a perfect experience I believe. Next time I visit Kütahya I would like to visit this Castle again for lunch or maybe evening dinner, as I think the view at night would be even more exhilarating. I highly recommend you visit this Castle if you are coming to Kütahya.

Came to this town for a little ancient hummum exploration action... Sadly it was closed for construction buuuuuut as fate may have it there was a beautiful castle overlooking the town and it was calling our name 🤩 With a bird's eye view of the surrounding area this is a perfect place to have a fortified castle back in the day. Apparently it's the perfect location for a restaurant with a rotating coffee shop inside today 🤣🤣🤣 It was not a total loss coming here because we got to have a good time trying to figure out how to get on top of this mountain attempting to navigate the crazy steep and small back roads on the bikes. Glad we got to have a nice look about 💪

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Kentpark is a delightful urban oasis that offers a refreshing escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Nestled conveniently across from the Eskişehir Bus Station, this expansive park features winding paths perfect for leisurely strolls, lush greenery, and an artificial beach that attracts visitors looking to enjoy some sun without being near the coast.
A lovely and large park in Eskisehir that has many walking paths, picnic areas, playgrounds for kids, and small kiosks for snacks and drinks. Entering the park is free. They have ample parking next to a wedding hall that grants you access to the park. The park has several access points. Worth spending an evening here.

It’s a very beautiful park. There swans and ducks, fish in the artificial beach. The park is super clean with amazing play areas for little children. There are cafes and small restaurants. There’s a river on one side. I didn’t try the toilets but I am assuming it would be okay since the park was glowing! If you are in Eskişehir, you must put this park on your list of places to visit.

One of the fantabulous parks in Eskisehir to spend summer leisure time. It has lakes, walking ground, horse, few restaurants. In the lake, one can go for fishing with permission from the park authority. Likewise many other parks in Turkey, it doesn’t have any ticketing system. Anyone can enter into and stay until closing of the park.
MM O — Google review

Deniz A — Google review
An excellent recreational park well suited to the need of people of all ages; children's park/playing ground, nice lawns at the river bank, walking/trotting lanes, sport/exercise arenas, restaurants and cafes, and public toilets. The love for statues in Eskisehir is also very evident in the park complex. My attention was particularly drawn to the symbol of Turkey-South Korea friendship and a Chinese art exhibition. The park complex is a must-see for anyone visiting Eskişehir and is located within short walking distance, about 3 minutes away from the Eskişehir Bus terminal.

Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Yilmaz Buyukersen Wax Sculpture Museum, located in Sazova Science, Art, and Culture Park, showcases lifelike wax sculptures of Turkish leaders and historical figures. The museum is part of the transformation led by Professor Yilmaz Buyukersen, the current Mayor of Eskisehir.
A lovely wax museum that shows prominent figures across modern Türkiye; e.g. politicians, media reporters, celebrities… etc. One can buy tickets at the counter. Once in, you can explore the various monuments and read about them. They offer audio headsets, too. The monuments are very well made, and look quite real. The place can get quite busy, and needs anywhere between 30-60 minutes to explore.
Fahd ب — Google review
This place runs by municipality however they charge extra for taking a photography (by professional photographer) with the sculptures in some of the area. This extra charge uses for education and scholarship of the girl students. It doesn’t bother you, it uses for good will. The sculptures are looking good and also, some of them exactly the same as its model (looking very real) If you visiting Eskişehir, you should see this place.

Title: Nice local wax figure museum of mostly Turkish and some international personalities. The founder and talented artist of this museum was also the mayor of Eskişehir + Over 100 figures... so you can see a lot + Some figures looked very real and was detailed worked + Entree fee was ok + A lot of Turkish legends from Atatürk until the Sultans of Ottoman empire + There is an area that tells the story of the liberation war in Eskişehir (in world war I) with a lot of relics to see o Some figures was behind of glas - In 2 areas it was forbidden to make photos. In one area they put their own photographer for extra cash - On some figures the quality or similarity was not given. It looks like different kinds of artists worked on the figures, some talented, some not. - A lot of figures was reporters of some known Turkish newspapers and TV programs. This part was a little boring for me ************************** Explanation of my votings + Pro - Contra o Only for your information 5 Stars: It was really special, you must try it 4 Stars: It was nice, you should try it 3 Stars: Nothing special, you could try it 2 Stars: Try only if you have no alternative 1 Stars: Bad, don't bother trying

The eskiseher version of wax museum, alot of local heros followed by the statues of past heros and ottomans too. Very little amount of international personalities are there and in that section no photos are allowed. Do visit if your fan of favourite personalities of the country otherwise don’t be misled to find international artists or individuals’s waxes.

Water & Amusement Parks
Sazova Science, Art and Culture Park, also known as Sazova Park, is a popular attraction in Eskisehir, Turkey. It offers a variety of activities for families including play areas, a pirate ship and a fairy-tale castle overlooking a boating lake. The park also features an academic center with wax models of scientists who contributed to various fields.
Loved the park. The entrance is free for the park. However, the different attractions (castle, pirate ship, zoo, etc.) have a separate fee. But it isn't a lot. Kids loved exploring on foot and enjoyed the train ride as well. The play areas with slides and see-saws are nice. The whole park is extremely clean and well kept. The castle was nice but did not have a word of English in it which made it difficult to understand what the cultural pieces/drawings were about. However, it did not take away from the beauty of it. Overall, we had a great time and were there till it was about to close.

A Magical Place for All Ages – Sazova Park is a Must-Visit! Our visit to Sazova Science, Culture, and Art Park (Sazofa) was absolutely unforgettable! The park is incredibly well-designed, offering a perfect blend of nature, education, and entertainment. Whether you're with kids, friends, or just exploring on your own, there’s something special for everyone. We loved walking around the peaceful green spaces and were amazed by the beautiful Fairy Tale Castle, which looked like it came straight out of a storybook. The pirate ship, mini zoo, aquarium, and planetarium were big hits with the kids, while we enjoyed the calm and beauty of the Japanese Garden. Everything was very clean and well-maintained, and the staff were polite and helpful. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into making this park a place of joy and learning. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Eskişehir — it’s a place where imagination and culture come together beautifully!
Wael S — Google review
It was a nice park to take pictures in and had several cafes for people to rest, I could not get in the castle but I don't think they have a lot of fun in there anyways, it did not allow picnicing of any kind which made the experience less fun because what's the point in sitting by the pond if I am not going to be eating some homemade sandwiches by it, right. Other than that, it was free and the weather was good, so I liked the place but can't say I loved it. You can go there just to see the castle and get some pictures.
Esra N — Google review
A nice place to take young kids to enjoy. It is more like a miniature version of Disneyland, but nothing like Disneyland. The surrounding and outside of the building is beautifully designed but nothing much to see inside the castle. The mannequins inside the castle are a disaster, i wonder how they even got approved to be kept there. The 5 star is for just the view and park outside
Muhammad S — Google review
Nice to visit but during the summer it’s very hot to stay outdoor , I advise them to close late during the summer season to give more time for who come late .
Ali — Google review
Wide, beautiful, green place with multiple coffee shops on the site, I was expecting more things to do and more places to visit other than the castle that was mostly restriced which was a bummer, and the pirate ship which was very nice and well made
Safa J — Google review
You can reach to Sazova park by bus or tram. If you go by bus then take bus 11 from Odunpazari which goes to Sazova park directly. There is a bus stop in front of the park. If you travel by Tram, the last station is Osmangazi University. From there, you have to walk for 20 minutes to reach the park. The park is just right side of the university. The park is free for everyone. The park has following amenities- Sazova Castle, Lake, Ship Museum, Natural views, Water Aquarium and Science Museum.
MM O — Google review
This park is open for public with free of charge. Only on certain place such as ship and castle access for adult requires charges with very low cost. The open park was beautiful and well maintained. This beautiful place is full of spirituality and peace. Every corner of it brings a lot of history to your imagination. The only thing that I wish it were better was the road leading to it. Unfortunately the road, in my opinion, is not suitable to the public use, it was bumpy and the road works are left unfinished. Other than that this place should be put in every traveler's must-see list in Türkiye.

I don't know if I should recommend as it is meant to be visited if you are interested to know the history of Osman Gazi. This place was so serene, peaceful and calm. The view is nice too. This waterfall would be great if it wasn’t for the trash you find everywhere in and around the water. You can also see two large and long ugly water hoses lying along the water path and I don’t know for what. The municipality should really improve this area which has so much better potential.

This area has long been underground and then emerged from the rocky surface of the flood and turned into magnificent waterfalls. This area was discovered by refugees who came from Russia during the First World War and came to Bursa asylum seeking. Bursa Municipality has paid close attention to this area, where it has established restaurants, gardens, recreational facilities and barbecue areas. The facilities are provided with water from the mountains, car parking, lighting and many other services. It also built around it many residential houses, villas and farms for conditioning and recreation.

"It is a beautiful mosque that has become famous as the Green Mosque. Evliya Çelebi The construction of the mosque, which was started by Çandarlı Halil Hayreddin Pasha in 1378-1379, was completed by his son Ali Pasha in 1391-1392 after the death of the pasha. The construction of the mosque took 14 years and according to the information in its inscription, its architect was Musaoğlu Hacı. During the War of Independence, the Greek forces that occupied the city stole its plaques, carpets and rugs; they tried to burn the columns and altars by pouring oil on them. The damaged building underwent serious repairs between 1956-1969 and the minaret, which was damaged in the earthquake, was restored with its tiles and gained its current appearance. The single-domed mosque, consisting of a harim and a narthex, has a rectangular plan. There is an inverted tulip motif under the columns at its two corners. The top row is decorated with an oyster motif. The minaret, a masterpiece that gave its name to the mosque, left its mark on its era with its tile decorations. The tiles on the minaret alone form a zigzag motif in turquoise, green and purple. The marble mihrab has strong stonework and is the first marble mihrab of the Ottoman Empire. The mosque's last restoration was carried out in 2015.

Peaceful place to be. The mosque is beautifully crafted with green and blue black-lined tile decoration inside. Which dates back to 15th century.

The Iznik Green Mosque (Yeşil Cami) is a historic Ottoman mosque located in the town of Iznik, Turkey. Built between 1378 and 1391 during the reign of Sultan Murad I. It was commissioned by Sadrazam (Grand Vezier) Çandarlı Kara Halil Hayreddin Pasha. The mosque is one of the earliest examples of Ottoman architecture, showcasing the transition from Seljuk to classical Ottoman style. Its name comes from the green tiles that once adorned its minaret, though much of the original tilework has been lost or faded over time. The mosque features a single dome over the prayer hall, a portico with elegant arches, a slender minaret decorated with glazed green and turquoise tiles which remains its most distinctive feature. Today, the Green Mosque stands as an important cultural and architectural landmark in Iznik, attracting visitors interested in early Ottoman design and history.

Beautiful mosque from the outside, especially the design of the minarra (minaret). I didn’t get a chance to visit inside the mosque though.

Not my favourite mosque. Somewhat plain and foreboding. Lot of grey marble lining. Anyway, it's in a nice location so if you're in the area and have the time, okay to have a look.

Hey, if you're into history, this place is from the 4th century! You'll see some cool Byzantine paintings. It became a mosque after the Ottomans took over. It's the original Hagia Sophia, so it's awesome. I found this place because it's mentioned in a book by Hakan Mengüç. Bring your own headscarf, though; they have some, but not many. It's wheelchair accessible, too. My kids loved it, and there's a park nearby. 🏛️🕌🇹🇷

Interestingly enough, this Mosque in Iznik (ancient Nicea) was called after St Sophia as it was a Church since the 3rd Century. This building dates from the 7th Century and was the place where the 2nd Council of Nicea was held. The altar us adjacent to the Mihrab, directed towards Mecca.

The mosque is history itself. I wish it was heated though considering how cold Bursa is. Regardless, it's really beautiful and has a lot of history behind it.
