Amazing place! First you walk through a small museum with the information boards and the artefacts displayed. Then you follow a walkway to admire the mosaics. After that there's the garden with information boards about the palace that dominated this place 2000 years ago. Just fascinating!

Must see place if you are interested in roman Britain. Big collection of the artefacts and lots of floor mosaic to enjoy. The museum itself is not dog friendly, but if you take turns, you can spend time in the gardens.

Visiting the Roman Palace at Fishbourne was a truly wonderful experience. The site is perfectly maintained, and the reconstruction of the gardens is beautiful, created in line with what is known about Roman culture and society. However, what impressed me the most were the mosaics inside. They are preserved in a remarkable way and offer a fascinating and varied insight into Roman artistic culture and the use of mosaic decoration. The archaeologists have done an outstanding job in replicating what life must have been like at the time, making this place an authentic and captivating journey into the past. Absolutely worth visiting.

My brain wasn't ready for the astonishing existence of this place and the profound secrets that it holds. It is literally mind altering to see it and read the information so excellently provided, and, as we did, to meet an eminent architect who happened to be working as a volunteer that day, who allowed us to handle artifacts that were handled by Romans 2,000 years ago! The incalculable scope and importance of this ancient site, which was only uncovered in the mid-1960s, has left me reeling. I can't stop thinking about the courage, ambition, brilliance, discernment, and audacity of the Roman conquerors of the first century, (and wondering what has become of us as a species since then.) Don't miss it!

Updated 20250626 Another lovely day here. Again a fabulous informative really by a staff member (didn't catch her name sorry) with much embarrassment when I identified an amphora handle as a knee joint. Hohum. Also lovely to talk to the conservator who had just finished fixing a delightful little jet hair pin. Just wonderful to spend time with people who love their jobs. Calm informative and peaceful this place. Informative boards in the museum, lovely to walk over the various hypocausts and mosaics. As a school trip we were entertained and educated by Tom whose encyclopaediac knowledge of Roman clothes and armour brought the artifacts to life. Some of the signs are a bit tired hence the four stars, so folks get yourself down there to give more money to this place so they can update the boards. Little cafe is lovely, doing ice cream and very good coffee. I mean VERY good coffee.

Absolutely incredible to see 2000 year old mosaics! The staff are so passionate about the experience and the purpose of the museum. I felt so welcome. Yes, the interpretation is a little dated but most people don’t realise how expensive it is to refresh. Balanced against the overall costs that the organisation must face in conservation, buildings maintenance and staff pay, they are really doing the best they possibly can. I would go every week to support them if I could. I booked online, and opted to gift aid my ticket. On arrival the lovely lady told me that this meant my ticket was now an annual ticket.

Great place for the UK if you want to see some real roman finds. Well presented little museum, but the star is the hall built over the roman palace, with some noteworthy mosaics and informative panels to understand more about the original building. Decent cafe and shop on site too.

Nice selection of birds, so many pretty varieties that we had never seen before. The parrots and cockatoos were entertaining with their chatter and whistles. There are a couple of walk-through areas where you can get up close to the birds. The main cafe area at the entrance is nice with outdoor seating overlooking the gardens. There is another cafe/kiosk, but this was closed when we visited. They are building a new play area which looks like it's going to be quite large. We spent around 3 hours there slowly walking around. For the kids, there is a dinosaur trail. The car park is large and free. Toilets and baby change areas were clean. There is quite a large gift shop. We had a nice half day wandering around.

Larger than expected but very interesting. There are all sorts of birds and plenty to see. For those with children, there are plenty of play bits for them to play and for those without there are benches where you can sit and watch the birds. The park is accessible for wheelchair users. Visually impaired folk will definitely benefit from taking a sighted guide.

Good place to visit after the upgrade made for kids but could have also added play center for toddler separately. The dinosaurs were good additions. Food-wise need to have more options and for the entry price paid the experience is bit on lower end with the birds. The bird world itself has not been updated fully and they seem old n neglected. Finally the parking facilities are lacking with very small spaces considering most visitors are with toddlers and kids and are of low quality.

I am disabled and cannot walk. Please see the end of the review for the only problem i had. Visited today with my wife daughter and her husband and two granddaughter's. We had a great time loads to see and do the birds are great and well displayed. The granddaughter's loved the play areas. All the staff are great. Helpfull, polite and a credit to bitdworld. on the whole it was easy to get round on a mobility class 3 mobility scooter. I have only one complaint and that there was a problem and that is with the disabled toilets it may not sound much but if you are like me on A Class 3 mobility scooter and cannot walk at all it is impossible sitting on one of those scooters and opening a door towards you. I do wish the people who designed these toilets would actually try to get in there whilst at on a large mobility scooter. It takes away your independence completely when you can't even open the door to get in. To pull a door open and hold it open while you driving is completely impossible. I really really wish that somebody would actually try it to see what I mean. Is bad enough being stuck on one of those things without having to ask a complete stranger to hold the door open for you. Please would one of your staff get hold of one of those scooters and try it.

New park is amazing. The kids loved the activity sheet and the dinosaur trail. Can't wait for the new play barn. Food was fresh and good. Only down side, they do not have a changing table for disabled guests, but we were told we could use the first aid one.

A popular day out for us or even a quick stop after nursery to run off extra energy. We invested in the membership this year and have visited Birdworld very regularly to explore every nook and cranny it has to offer. The bonus features of the dinosaur trail, bird bath and adventure play have been a treat too. There are so many beautiful birds and really helpful information about them to learn and raise awareness of endangered species, as well as regular talks from the team who present it so well. The birds are well looked after and the park is so pretty with greenery, flowers, water features, bird photography and beautiful interactive displays of information. There is lots to do for all ages. The paths are wheelchair and buggy accessible and plenty of loo facilities around the park. Lots of parking space and the check-in process is simple and quick even on busy days. Even when the park is busy it doesn’t feel crowded as there’s lots of space to run around, and benches to sit on.

Perfect for all. Not too long to walk around (you could probably rush it in half hour) took us a couple of hours to see everything, but there's plenty of extra play areas and games to keep kids entertained. Special experiences like feeding the penguins are extra, but well worth it.

Loved this! Bought a day ticket, which meant we could go back anytime during the day. As it was a bright, sunny day, the views were wonderful. It was very busy in the morning due to school groups, I would recommend going later in the afternoon. Much less busy and a more relaxing visit altogether! The glass floor was fun. We had tea and cake in the cafe and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience - we even forked out for the photos and have been able to download them at home as well. Obviously a sunny day helps make the experience better!

I was lucky with the weather and had gorgeous views all round. It was fun watching ferries and other shipping coming in and out. One ferry had some nail biting moments entering a narrow port area! Next time I will book an afternoon tea up in the clouds.

Very nice (if you’re not afraid of heights), but very small/underwhelming. A small glass floor you can step on. Overall a very short visit but a fun experience.

Great views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and also of Portsmouth and the surrounding countryside. Quick lift brings you up to the different viewing platforms - of which there are three. Walk across the transparent floor if you dare - don’t forget to take your shots off - not for the faint hearted or those with vertigo! Very much enjoyed the visit. Cafe/bar is expensive due to the view. There are loads of places in Gunwharf Quay to eat and drink so wait until you leave the tower.

Beautiful view, blah, blah. It is the staff that make this such a wonderful day out. From the ticket desk, to the lift operator, to everyone in the Spinnaker Kitchen, every single team member we interacted with was absolutely delightful, smiling, helpful and lovely. I came to visit Spinnaker tower on the 17.10.25. I did not realise it was the towers 20th Anniversary. It was well worth the time and money being up in the tower was absolutely amazing, you could see the isle of Wight, Southampton and even Gosport. The view from up above is simply breathtaking. We will definitely be coming back during the night.

Great, if a little pricey activity to include on a trip to Portsmouth. Fabulous views on all three levels IF you time your visit to when it's clear. For Best value book 24 hours in advance. The Coffee ☕ lounge on the middle deck is well worth stopping by. Team member Caroline, who was on Coffees during my visit, deserves a huge shout out as she is very customer focused, hard working and welcoming.

Definitely worth the visit and the money. Got the ultimate explorer which allowed unlimited access for 12 months. 1. 10.15 to 11.30 am - HMS Warrior - (Definitely say hi to the lad on table 27) 2. 11.30 to 12 noon - snack break (better to carry snacks from home) 3. 12.15 to 1 pm - Harbour boat tour (included with ulimate explorer ticket) - they take you round the dock and give an overview of the surroundings There are tours every quarter past (10.15, 11.15 etc) 4. 1 to 1.30 pm - Mary Rose - I didn't find much to see here apart from the ship - the 4D cinema is not actually 4D, there are no glasses 5. 1.30 to 2.30 - HMS Victory- they give you audio guide to listen to 6. 2.30 to 3 - Lunch (fish and chip cost 15 and chicken cojouns and chips cost 13) 7. 3pm onwards rest of the places Had to skip water bus due to shortage of time, hence couldn't see the submarine and firepower museum. Note: if you are traveling with kids/elders be mindful because some of the steps are steep. Overall it was grand.

Great day out, but come more than once to see everything. If you only came once for a few hours, it would not be good value. The boat tour was great, really good commentary. Other boat trips to various attractions often full. Lots of places to eat and drink. Without fail, all of the staff are friendly and helpful. Only negative is that the only way to get a map of the place is to buy a guide book!

What an eye opener to learn the history of the Senior service that is the Royal Navy. The displays in all the various buildings are very informative about how the RN has evolved over its history. Loved the displays about how the apprenticeship courses leant how ship building was carried out in the Dockyard. Also it was wonderfully to go aboard the three warships that are HMS Warrior,HMS Victory and the Mary Rose. At the present moment the Victory is having a major refit due to be completed by around 2033. You can still go aboard her but some restrictions are in place. The Warrior and The Mary Rose are definitely worth a vist. Toilets available around the exhibits and a lovely coffee and gift shops are available.

We arrived at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard with no real idea of what to expect – luckily, one of our travel companions knew exactly what this remarkable place was about and became our personal guide through history. The morning started with rain (as it should in England), but by the afternoon the sun came out, giving us the perfect setting to explore the ships and round it all off with a boat tour of the harbour. Standing on decks that once carried sailors across the world was both impressive and humbling – a living reminder of naval history brought to life. The whole experience was well worth the visit: history, atmosphere, and the sheer scale of the Royal Navy’s past glory. And as every proper British adventure should end – we closed the day in a nearby pub, with a cold pint and classic fish & chips. A perfect conclusion to a perfect day.

That's our second visit and this time we stayed for 4 days - which is necessary if you want to see everything and was absolutely worth it. It is really a great museum and the volunteers/employees are all very helpful and nice. The only downside is that it lacks documentation in French (and other languages) apart from the audioguide on the Victory. Being the only person proficient in English in our group, I've spent the four days orally translating everything which was a bit tiring :-D even though that's my usual day job - so I would suggest adding a few signs in other languages for a start.

Need more than a day to see everything. The Victory audio guide tour was superb, and the Mary Rose museum beautifully done. Cafe a little disappointing, no hot snacks on a VERY wet afternoon, fruit scone tasted like it had been on the Victory! Could do with better info on what parts were open or closed and when things closed that day.

Excellent value for money, harbour tour was good length and detailed knowledge of the area. Didn't manage to do all in one day but purchased the year ultimate explorer pass and with blue light discount (purchase on the day as it's cheaper) it was well worth the money. There's lots to explore and look at as well as the boat rides /tours.

Nothing can prepare you for the spectacle of the ship. I walked into the darkened space and found a window to look across at this 500 years old ship. Rooted to the spot, my mouth went dry and for some reason tears started. What followed was an onslaught of sensory stimulation. You get an insight into the people who built the ship, the men that crewed it and the life they had. When was the last time you were THAT close to Tudor England, to timbers felled in the 1400's, to the pursers boots and the shipwright and carpenter that you can almost, almost touch and feel? Incredible. Not so incredible were the out of order and dirty toilets. Men and womens. Also, the tour guides need to hush up a little. Shouting instructions in a cathedral of Maritime Tudor times just isn't appropriate. Some of us want to drink in the place, in peace.

Fascinating visit. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Was somewhere I had wanted to visit for many years. Receives a 4 because on that particular day conservationists were inspecting the ship and so I didn't experience the videos or atmospheric conditions that I'm informed usually make it a more memorable and engaging experience. I appreciate such work needs to be done but perhaps outside of visiting times or slightly reduced ticket price on such days.

An absolut must see if your fascinated with nautical stuff. It's a state of the art museum displaying everything to do with The Mary Rose Tudor warship. The 4D experience is marvellous to watch. Arelly atmosphere here as you immerse your self back in time with the tour guides. Staff are super friendly, disabled friendly, toilets on site kept really clean. Lovely gift shop.

My husband and I visited The Mary Rose Museum on 25/10, as part of a belated birthday gift - and it didn’t disappoint. We thoroughly recommend booking the 2hour 1:1 guided tour. The exhibition itself is amazing and you could spend hours inside as all the displays are informative and tell a story that captures the imagination. However, we were lucky enough to be guided by Bob- you’ll recognise him by his costume and friendly rat he carries on his shoulder - and Fred (as a bonus). Bob, although knowledgable about the history of the period, also had innumerable anecdotes up his sleeve. He’d thoroughly done his research and had met with people who’d been part of the original dive team, the team who’d brought up the Mary Rose and the crane driver teams. He also had a dry sense of humour. We were privileged to go behind the scenes and also handle some of the artefact's themselves. A truly memorable experience thanks to your magnificent guides who volunteer week in week out.

We got the ultimate ticket for the naval docks - the Mary Rose seemed like an obvious 'must do'. I was a little worried... (a) its bits of old boat, and (b) how were the kids going to be when they realise the boat isn't even in one piece...!? Thankfully I didnt need to worry as we all really enjoyed the visit! At the beginning you wait round a little, this is because there is a small walk through video - this helped to 'set the scene' of the last moments of the Mary Rose, particularly for the kids. After this you could pretty much go at your own pace. The kids had a couple of little activities to do whilst browsing the museum (things to look out for etc.), and because it was October half term there was also some activities (we watched a session about medicines which kept the kids interest!) The kids also enjoyed the 4d dive part nearer the end of the visit. For myself, I actually really liked the main display area - not really sure what it was about it I liked, but the use of ambient lighting, sounds etc. was very well done and added to the experience. Well worth a visit!

Over 20,000 artefacts and a 4D cinema experience, it is a time capsule of the Tudor period. This is an impressive museum, which includes the hull of this Tudor warship. You need an hour minimum, preferably 2 to 3 hours to see and read everything. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

An absolute must when you’re in the location. A truly remarkable survivor. The museum is different every time we’ve visited. So much to see and learn. The technology is incredible.

This model village has to be one of the sweetest places I've ever visited. It's family run for several generations and you can feel the love and companionship through the ages when you walk around the village, see the attention to detail and care taken, read the lovely guide and go into the craft gift shop. Great venue and an unusual activity. There's a little cafe too and a couple of photo spots.

Wasn’t too sure what to expect - and it turned out to be fantastic. There for over 90 mins and you can go round as often as you like. There is an easy to follow suggested route, or you can just wander. The models are really good and do match the original buildings Highly recommended

Nice afternoon, I've been to model villages before including this one, gardens always well presented.. prices were a little high for the size I feel been to bigger ones and price was lower. But for a nice autumn 🍁 afternoon it filled a hole.

The model village Godshill is an intriguing little gem, the model village is so beautifully made and maintained and the gardens are outstanding, all maintained to a very high standard. The staff were very friendly and welcomed our little fur baby. The gift shop has lovely trinkets to keep as memories of our morning here.

We took our five year old grand daughter to this amazing venue. She had been before but only as a toddler in a pram. We ordered our tickets online and turned up to meet a very polite & helpful young lady in the ticket office. Picking up a free quiz sheet for our grand daughter to fill in we began our journey around the mini version of Godshills quaint village as well as other nearby landmarks. Our grand daughter thoroughly enjoyed her walk around the village looking for the clues to answer the questions on the sheet. Although there were lots of people visiting there was no feeling of being overcrowded & we were able to stop & take numerous pictures during our stroll without getting in other people's way. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable walk with our grand daughter & a great way to spend a morning.

Just got back from my visit and what can I say about this place other than what a beautiful place this is to visit. I personally wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The village not only incorporates Godshill but other parts of the island on an amazingly wonderful level. The water features running through the village and model train station and tracks are great. The grounds are kept beautiful by the friendly staff there and you can tell they take pride in what they do which is refreshing. The £8 entrance fee was a good price and we spent about 40 mins walking around. They have a cafe, shop and toilet facilities on site. There is no parking here so park a couple of hundred yards up the road on the old smithy car park....it's free. This is definitely a must if visiting the village of Godshill.

It's one of the must see places in the Isle of wight. Beautifully recreated model of the lovely Godshill village and Shanklin village with huge attention to detail. This place represents all the houses, pub, cottage, restaurants, which you can still see in these places. The amazing thing about this village is it's well maintained, clean, well thought of in terms of design and people involvement. I was impressed that you can take a pram and it fits perfectly in the narrow path. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely awesome day out & evening. Spent the day in the park enjoying all the areas there are and the views around the park are stunning. There is amazing plants and flowers all around. The wild west show was funny to watch and all the kids playing in the saloon. We stayed on in the evening for the summer festival with live DJ and foam party at sunset, wow what an amazing time everyone was having.

Great fun for all ages. Good accessibility and everyone having a “whale” of a time Family run business and great atmosphere- lots of happy faces and plenty to do and see. Glorious setting over the coast so you can admire the views and indoor fun if the weather not so good

Blackgang Chine is a fantastic family attraction full of fun, imagination, and beautiful scenery. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and nostalgia, with themed areas, rides, and stunning cliffside views. There’s something for everyone — from dinosaurs and fairytale lands to breathtaking coastal walks. The staff are friendly, and the whole park is well maintained and full of charm. A magical and memorable experience that truly captures the spirit of the Isle of Wight!

I would definitely recommend this park everyone , but especially with small children. There are many opportunities for relaxation. Stunning view of the sea, and the dinosaur park part is impressively lifelike.

Family friendly, super clean and some great views of the coast as well. The summer ticket is great, you can go as many times as you like, and the queues are never too long. Food at the restaurant is good value and tasty too. We stayed for the Wednesday night foam party disco and fireworks which had a brilliant atmosphere.

Didn't expect this to be as popular with everyone as it was. It's not a huge park and I'd thought that the kids may be underwhelmed but in fact they loved it. The rides are pitched at up to early teens and our ticket included a full week's return and if we had the time the kids would definitely have been pulling us back. We went during their Day of The Dead festival and they'd clearly out a lot of effort into it. Well decorated and the late opening was excellent. Fire artists and aerial gymnastics we a great addition. Had thought it expensive but the ability to go back for a week means you should buy your tickets for this at the start of your holiday to make the most of the offer. An extra shout to the catering manager Steve Mumford who confirmed they use an separate fryers for the fish fingers, fish, goujons and chips. Which along with the sausages and small pizza can all be made gf. There aren't any gf churros or doughnuts so be aware that young coeliacs will miss out on these.

I'd love to give this place 5 stars and a great review, as it brought back so many fond memories from my childhood, and as a family we had so much fun. BUT... the whole experience was ruined because although we have a child that is registered disabled, and we had all proof required. They would accept a carers pass for my child. LITERALLY EVERY OTHER THEME PARK, OR ATTRACTION, THEATRE, CINEMA, WE GO TO ACCEPT HIS BLUE BADGE, AND ACCESS PASS. because our access pass didn't have a plus 1 (because it was applied for before he was issued the blue badge etc) The staff weren't interested in listening to us at all. I feel like they ruined our day, made my son feel very uncomfortable and upset, and their linier way of thinking is very closed minded. We live in a world where all disabilities should be recognised, even those that are not visible. We even spoke to a manager, who also had a closed mind. I feel that a theme park that has been around so long would have a better system for recognising different types of disability. For instance Disney and universal in Florida, have a system where you send them the proof prior to a visit to get your pass authorised before you get there. Merlin do the same, you send them the details and it's all done before you arrive. But instead we had the embarrassment of having two separate people denying my disabled son the free carer he should be entitled to. I'm disgusted that this kind of thing still goes on, and I'm so let down. This left a sour taste in my mouth, and I struggled to have a good time the whole day I was there because of it. This park needs to do better and get up to scratch with modern times.

We had a splendid time at Basildon Park. The house is beautiful, my favourite room was the Seashell Room. Volunteers from National Trust were so friendly and full of historical information. We didn’t get a chance to have a long walk outside but we did manage to have a lovely short one after picking up a bite at the cafe. Look forward to coming back for a longer walk & a visit to the gift shop.

Fine manor house with plenty of woodland and pasture to explore. There’s ample parking which is a good thing as it’s only really possible to get there by car. The manor has great architecture and is very well maintained. There’s a cafe there but the food is a little below the standard I’d expect for a national trust venue.

Basildon Park is such a charming mix of history and glamour! Built in the 18th century for Sir Francis Sykes and later owned by James Morrison, the house even fell into disuse during WWII before being rescued in the 1950s by Lord and Lady Iliffe. I loved exploring the rooms and viewing framed personal family photos and other mementos. It was also fun discovering the home’s on-screen fame—right now there’s a 20th anniversary exhibition celebrating all the films and TV shows shot here, from Pride and Prejudice to Downton Abbey, and The Crown. The National Trust has done a great job keeping both the house and its lovely grounds inviting, so it’s easy to imagine life here across the centuries.

The lush green fields, meandering river Thames, glorious countryside, and the Mansion full of colourful history. Each room tells a story and the Mansion was the shooting location of at least five films between 2005 - 2020, Pride & Prejudice, Dorian Gray, Downton Abbey, The Gentlemen, and Belgravia. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable who are ready to answer any question you may have. The whole palace is kept immaculately clean and the public facilities are excellent.

Lovely NT property in stunning surroundings. You can see why so many film makers have chosen it! Stunning house interior including one of the UK's last surviving Georgian ceilings. Nice courtyard team room in the house too. Highly recommended.

Beautiful house with an interesting history. Exciting to visit if you're a fan of historic drama showa like Downton Abbey or Pride and Prejudice. Has lovely walks around the parkland. Loved the sea shell collection - never seen anything like it. Was amazing to see the Downton Abbey dresses on exhibition.

A lot to see and take in, both in the large interior areas, as well as small details and specific features as well as having a exhibit about the building's history. Worth a visit. Easily spent about 1h and a half looking at burrial sites, architecture, history and art.

A beautiful cathedral, worth a visit to see the architecture, carvings and stained glass windows. Jane Austen is buried in the cathedral with her memorial stone in the nave. Those interested in history will find plenty to see. Anyone in search of a peaceful place with find it here. There is an entrance fee but it allows free further visits for 12 months.

It is such a nice spot to just have a sit down, not very loud and obviously has a incredible architecture! During my trip to Winchester I stopped by here a few times - the inside of the cathedral is beautiful and worth seeing but tickets are overpriced. Also if you enjoy books, there is a great shop round one of the sides that has something for everyone📚

The guided tour that comes with the admission price is easily worth it. I was bowled over with our guide's (Michael) depth of knowledge and fantastic anecdotes about the cathedral. The ticket is open for a year. There's so much more to find out about this splendid building we will probably be back. Winchester's nice to walk around too. Probably best to avoid peak times.

The staff was really friendly and the cathedral is pretty big and beautiful, definitely worth the time. We chatted for 15-20 min with the staff member in the library (yeah they have an amazing library with beautiful old books) he told us really great stories and gave us some insights on how big of a work goes into working with these. The cathedral overall is really detailed and has an interesting story, it even has a small museum inside.

The great cathedral is the primary reason why we wanted to visit Winchester and it did not disappoint. We jumped into one of the tours being offered at the ticket entrance and had such a great experience. The tour took just over an hour, and we spent another hour afterwards exploring the massive space, checking out some of the many sacred and historical items on display (including the Winchester Bible), and paying our respects at the Jane Austen memorial with the added bonus of occasional organ music in the background. A perfect way to spend a half day.

Highly, highly recommend visiting and taking the guided tour! The volunteers were enthusiastic, welcoming, and very friendly. There was so much history to see, including an exhibition. We had Robert Little as our tour guide, and he truly brought the history to life. He was very knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging in his storytelling! One of the many details I enjoyed was when he pointed out some of the different architectural styles, such as Norman or Gothic. Always enjoy coming here, attended for the Formula 1 75 exhibition, but also had a look at all the cars on display. Enjoyed the monorail ride a look round the house and gardens, sad there was no classic cars out and about... Food was good and tasty 😋 Staff were chatty and knowledgeable and helpful. I took my 6 year old daughter for her first visit (but far from mine) and she absolutely loved it! The weather held good despite the late October timing. She loved seeing Mr Bean's car and the Disney display but her highlight (and mine, to be fair) was riding on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The driver was a blast and it was so cool to learn about the cars that were used in the film, and wave at everyone as we explored the grounds. Beaulieu is one of my favourite places to visit when I'm in the UK and I think I can now say it is the same for my daughter. Very highly recommended for anyone of any age.

Visiting this week in half term , my son wanted to see a Porsche 917 so I emailed before booking to confirm the car would Be on display , very pleasant personal reply with confirmation. Don’t be put off with the price for the tickets . You will spend the whole day here so does represent great value for money . My children really enjoyed the “ we had one of those “ section as they could sit in the cars and experience the cars we grew up with . Only points to mention , we had coffee and cake in the afternoon , rather pricey & the cakes were dry and not great . Also a lot of tables left uncleared and in places food on the floor under tables .

fantastic visit! we were meeting family in the new forest for the weekend and beaulieu was close by so we thought we would pop by and check it out! we have been before but i was a child. the cars exhibit was on and it was really cool! if you are a pixar fan in the uk id reccomend coming whilst this exhibit is on. i am a massive f1 fan so seeing the cars was very cool! a personal highlight was the 2021 williams! additionally we were able to ride in the chitty chitty bang bang car wich was incredible. the driver was so knowledgable and we felt so safe in the car with him. my mum is a huge fan of the film so it was such a core memory for her. thank you beualieu! i will be back

Fairly priced considering you are able to reuse the tickets and use them to access events held here in the future. The cafe on site offers good food and drinks selection It is worth exploring the other features such as the play grounds, other museums, and the house which is all included in the ticket. There are plenty of cars to view including an F1 section, classic cars, and modern cars. There are displays featuring garages and buses also. Plenty to do and to keep the kids entertained

This year, we visited the amazing Beaulieu for the third time, and it never stops surprising us! Located in the beautiful New Forest, Hampshire, this place is absolutely magical. The highlight for me was the National Motor Museum, which features more than 285 vehicles — from vintage classics to racing legends. I especially loved the new Formula 1 exhibition, celebrating 75 years since the very first championship in 1950. For children, there’s a fantastic Mini Little Beaulieu play area — fun, creative, and safe! The magnificent Beaulieu Palace also left a lasting impression with its beauty and history. There are many sculptures, exhibits, and many beautiful and interesting things around..... I truly recommend this place to everyone living in or visiting England — Beaulieu is an unforgettable experience you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

Worth a visit and any number of re-visits - Visited on Saturday, 28/06/25. 3rd visit here and the first for about 11 years. Lovely weather, which always helps, and there was a Morgan owners meeting taking place, so there was more to see than normal. Parking is near the entrance, but uncovered. Bought the tickets online in advance, so you get a discount, and it's straightforward to get in. Once inside, the initial options are a Monorail and restaurant/toilet facilities. Very pricey for anything in the restaurant (£5 for 2 cans of soda), so suggest you bring your own. The monorail is an excellent way to get an overview of the site before exploring on foot, and the ride is included in the entry price and can be ridden more than once. The old Top Gear exhibition has been replaced in part by a new section of example cars from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's that you can get in and reminisce about (though these cars are in a bit of a state tbh). Beyond that, we visited the main museum, which hadn't changed much in the past 10 years, but had exhibits moved around. The F1 section was very good with more recent examples of cars, and whilst we visited, an excellent F1 Simulator which you can go in (you have to pre-book) for £15 for 15 mins. It's worth it, so suggest you book a slot as soon as you arrive. On this visit, we didn't have the time to explore the house and grounds, but there are some lovely walks to be had. The staff are all excellent and approachable, and friendly, and though I have been 3 times now, I would have no qualms about making future visits as there is generally a change each year.

Absolutely stunning Castle and very informative and professional tour. We also had a wonderful lunch and tea service with plenty of cakes and desserts along with our pre-booked castle tour. Our tour guide Sarah was wonderful and gave us all the details necessary to truly appreciate this beautiful castle. We learned a lot about the Lord and Lady Carnavron and about the history of the castle and the families who have called this beautiful place home. We were able to walk among the gardens and that was stunning. There should be an entire page dedicated to the fantastic Egyptian antiquities exhibit found as part of this tour!

We had a wonderful time at Highclere Castle .It was the second last day on my trip to the U.K . The grounds are beautiful and the castle stunning . Could not take photos inside it take my word it is worth a visit. The staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about their job . When you walk through those huge wooden doors you think you have walked into a Downton Abbey set .

We enjoyed our time at Highclere immensely. The staff was very helpful and friendly, answered all our questions and we even walked down the beautiful staircase. Unfortunately you are not able to take photos inside but it was lovely to be in the moment taking it all in and enjoying it. Do go and take the picnic tea, however note that it could easily work for 3-4 people not just 2! Wonderful day. 5 stars.

This was an great stop on our way to Heathrow after disembarking from our cruise ship in Southampton. We enjoyed the gardens however suggest if you get to castle at 9:30 to 10:00 am cue up for the castle first then do the gardens. Oh, and if you already have tickets printed, don't get in the cue, go to the right and scan for direct entrance. Thanks to the lovely women who mentioned that to us. The self guided tour of the castle and gardens is great. We purchased the Tea lunch which was super fun. More than enough for for two...we were three and could have easily fed four. Overall a nice way to cap a great 10 days of cruising before a 16 hour journey home back to Seattle/Tacoma.

Simply amazing visit. With the castle decorated for Christmas in a victorian style this year it is currently only open for prebooked private tours. Visiting on a day when the rain made the sky's dark and deluged us all just added to the atmosphere. A lovely afternoon tea in a very cosy marquee competed our visit. Although not a cheap day, it was certainly worth it for the experience. A lovely welcome from the countess herself and a truly excellent guide for the house as well as the very atmospheric Egyptian collection in the cellar made this a true day to remember.

The house was breathtaking when we saw it for the first time, walking up the drive and was even bigger than it looked like in Downton Abbey. The grounds are huge with lovely gardens and walks. The only down side being that you can’t take bags or eat your own picnic in the grounds. Nevertheless, a day very well spent!

Beautiful grounds to wander through with loads of benches dotted around to sit and ponder on! House is stunning to walk-around the outside before you enter. The inside was very interesting too and felt surprisingly cosy although still opulent in parts. Lovely tea shop which was very reasonable. I paid £3.50 for a fresh scone with clotted cream and jam. Gift shop is a bit different with some interesting bits too... including bottles of their own gin.

You need more than a day to explore everything here!! That was our only complain. It is a great place to spend time with kids. No water related rides/pools for adults which we found disappointing as we came prepared for one (without checking in detail online). That's why the 4 star. There's a splash area for kids and that's it for anything water related as far as I can tell. Would give it 5 star purely for everything kids related. There's lots to explore here. I read on one the reviews to get a packed lunch and I'm glad I read it and we did bring something to eat during the day which did save us some ££!!. We went on a weekday during the school holidays and it wasn't that crowded. Parking is hassle free and they guide you to an empty spot. We went to Peppa Pig World first and managed to get on few of the rides without queuing for long. We found this to be better than Legoland based on our overall experience. Would be going back to explore the unexplored sections/rides hopefully soon!!

Paultons Park is a beautiful, well kept and very themed in the seperate of areas in the park. There is so so many family rides what everyone can enjoy. The ride access pass was so easy to use. The food in the Route 83 diner was really nice. Amazing price value in the shop & food outlets. The toilets was very clean. If the rides are getting to much you have got the gorgeous well kept gardens and animals to walk round. Paultons deserved the best theme park of the year as I had no faults with anything. 🤍

Stunning grounds, went in the summer and it was beautiful just been now(end October)and the work they have put into the grounds for Halloween are fantastic, great to see all the kids excited even before they got to the rides... So clean, the ground staff do an amazing job.. Definitely buy tickets in advance. And I would advise to take food and drink with u as it is a bit pricey. It's a cashless site but you can get a card on entry and put cash on it

Great theme park, not only for younger kids but also for big boys along with adults. Went in Halloween and it was all Pumpkins everywhere. Nicely decorated, enough rides. Visited for 2 days with short break, but if either young or old kids only or if managed properly, all rides and parks can be covered in a day.

Ample free parking, easy check in, well done with the halloween theme, waits on some rides are reasonable. Their phone app is super useful showing locations and waiting times. Staff is friendly, rides are all safe, place and toilets are clean. On stage shows were entertaining. Great place for a family day.

What a lovely experience for my little man, even we the parent joined in and had good fun. The organisation was excellent, friendly people good atmosphere. The fact that you get to ride on all the rides and fun fair they have to offer.Definitely recommending and we will be going again that is if mummy pig decide to have fourth piglet

The rides are good, waiting times not too bad. A spacious site with plenty of places to get food and drink. Ive reduced by 2 stars as, when my son lost his phone on a ride, they couldn't be less interested if they tried. They said there was nothing theu could do and didn't take our details in case they did find it. I do understand that this probably happens all the time but also bit of compassion isn't hard. Won't be going back.

I was completely amazed by the sheer number and variety of items in this museum's collection. From ancient pottery to classical paintings, there was so much to discover. The way the museum is divided into different geographical and chronological sections is brilliant—it felt like taking a trip around the world and through the ages. It's an absolute must-see for both tourists and locals. Don't miss it!

I wanted to see the Tradescant collection, from the English settlement period of Virginia, Powhatans mantle specifically. It was an easy day trip from London Paddington station. Ut turned out to be my favorite museum! So many world treasures! Beautiful exhibit designs, lovely lighting. The rich colors compliment the objects and time periods. Labels easy to read. Nice, quick-lunch cafe, big enough to rest a few minutes before going on. More manageable size compared to The British Museum.

The museum is wonderful. I visited in very limited time. Nice museum, well spaced, they have free entrance but encourga donations. I donated buy gettin the map which is 2£. It was walkable and had well structured displays. Also had some interactive ones. Worth a visit if you are in Oxford.

The museum’s huge , we had the luxury of time so did each floor on separate days. It’s well planned so you can walk around in a seamless tour. Lots of detail explaining exhibits. Nice cafe in the basement and I could have spent a fortune on the shop!

It is a lovely day to visit Oxford on 20 nov 2025. First stop to visit is Ashmolean Museum. There are many exhibitions round the round. Egypt, Greece, middle East, India , Asia. Comprises of many floors. Lift is available for special needs people to visit. Very well illustration of every display. Require many hours to go through slowly. It is free entry. The palace is very nice. If you're passing through Woodstock and have the time go in and visit the place. Beside visiting the inside of the palace you can have a nice walk around the place. For Harry Potter fans if you cross the Vanbrugh's Grand Bridge and turn left you'll come across The Harry Potter Tree from the 1st movie in the series. In the park you'll find The Column of Victory. The staff are nice and can answer your questions. Best is to buy tickets in advanced. In the summer be prepared for large groups. The parking lot is big, coaches can also park inside. The inside is very nicely decorated, you'll find many paintings, sculptures. Beside seeing how the upper folks lived, the palace is also very famous for beeing the birthplace of the 1st Duke's famous descendat, Winston Churchill. The back grounds offer a nice view over River Glyme. The cafeteria looks nice but the prices are too high.

We had an amazing day here. The staff were very friendly and were quick to let us know that the palace was not in its usual appearance due to the Christmas trails and Palace of Oz. There were amusement rides and also Christmas Markets. But it was still amazing. We almost didn't go however as the website didn't give us the option to purchase any tickets saying there were no spots available. We rang and the information line said show up and there may be tickets. There were, the Palace was not busy at all. So there maybe a website issue. We got here easily on the bus from Oxford. An easy walk from the bus stop. No need to bring a car if you can walk. We loved the special event and walking the grounds. A great day.

The place is stunning, surrounded by beautiful lakes and gardens. However, we arrived only two hours before closing and were not informed that this wouldn’t be enough time to explore the whole palace. We purchased the highest ticket category, but it would have been better if the staff had advised us to choose a lower one. The ticket prices are quite high, and I suggest providing golf carts inside the grounds due to the large area

Came 25th October 2025 for the Halloween event. First impressions weren’t great as the advertised fairground was just three attractions - one of which (the ghost house) was laughably bad. The food and drink vans were also poor - I was expecting better than something you’d see at your local Sunday market! The Halloween trail itself went some way to making up for that and was fantastic in places. The live actors were also great and weren’t too scary for the kids. The placing of a toasted marshmallow seller and bar at the half way point was also a great touch and broke up what otherwise would have been a 20 minute walkthrough. We ended up going round twice as we didn’t anticipate it being so sunny and wanted to see it in all its glory during twilight. There is significant room for improvement though e.g. the UFO scene was a great idea poorly executed with no attempt to dress the lighting rig up as a spaceship. A live actor dressed as an alien here would also have helped. Overall it felt sparse and needed more. In saying that, my niece and nephew both enjoyed themselves so maybe I’m being too critical. Still, I expected more for the money.

It is worth a visit. It is a beautiful palace, with beautiful history behind it. I enjoyed the visit. Also it has a small restaurant on the premises, the soup I had was delightful and matched the cold weather. The palace also contained a small shop, it contains beautiful things and since Christmas is coming the shop is full of Christmas decorations and ornaments. Since I am from a foreign country, we don't have such beautiful ornaments here. I had to buy a lot to bring home with me. Hopefully next time I visit the palace ( definitely will ) I will try to visit in summer so I can enjoy the beautiful gardens more.

Marvelous palace...each detail perfectly managed. The beauty....the art is magnificent. The gardens are breathtaking... The place get still more special with the kind people that work there. Everybody that I have meet. Already planning the next time..... Not just five stars, a constellation 😘😘😘

Christmas at Blenheim. The Palace theme was Wizard of Oz. Lots of beautiful decorations and animations. Very busy attraction, which made the journey round abit slow, but it didn't spoil the walk around. Christmas market had a nice selection of small stalls selling alsorts of trinkets, food and drink. The food trucks were varied but all very expensive. The light trail is different again this year. New additions throughout the trail which is great if your an annual visitor as I am. Great displays along the whole trail. We enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely return next year.

Plenty of parking, free to cadw, English heritage, and historic Scotland. Very Busy even at 10am. Free Busses taking visitors down every 5 to 10 mins. And bringing back. No going on the stones. Very impressive visitors centre. Toilets, shop, cafe. All wheelchair friendly. Great audio guide app. Friendly staff. Soooo many nationalities visiting. Heard soooooo many languages. Wonderful place to visit. Better when not so many people, but over a million people visit so not any quiet time.

Stonehenge is such a fascinating and historic site, the place is visible from the road itself and is also very good for capturing photos, especially during sunrise or sunset when the light hits the stones beautifully. The visitor centre is well-organised with clear information about the history and significance of the site. Definitely a must-see spot in the UK

Fascinating experience. This place is free to visit for English Heritage and National Trust member. There is shop, cafe, toilet and exhibition at the visitor centre. Shuttle bus is available every 5 to 10 minutes to take visitor from visitor centre to the stones. But if you choose to walk to the stones and enjoy it is convenient too. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and it’s free if you are an English Heritage member or else you need to pay £3.

I didn’t go through the visitor center — instead I took a lovely, easy path through the fields. The walk was beautiful and peaceful, and it leads you right up close to Stonehenge without needing to pay. The site itself is amazing and well-kept. Totally worth it, especially if you prefer a quiet nature walk over the crowded official route.

Stonehenge is iconic for a reason—the sight of the massive stones rising from the landscape is truly impressive. The visitor centre has good information and a shuttle that takes you to the monument, making the experience smooth and well-organized. Parking is available on-site and easy to navigate, though it can get busy during peak hours. The walking trail around the stones is well laid out, offering great views from different angles. You can’t get too close, but the path still gives you plenty of opportunities for photos and quiet moments to take in the atmosphere. Overall, a memorable visit if you appreciate history, engineering, or a unique landscape.

Absolutely breathtaking! Visiting Stonehenge was such an unforgettable experience. The site is peaceful, fascinating, and has this incredible sense of history and mystery about it. Seeing it in person is completely different from photos, it really makes you stop and take it all in. The area is well maintained, the shuttle service is convenient, and the museum and exhibits add great context to what you’re seeing. We went as a family and everyone enjoyed it. Even the kids were amazed by how massive and perfectly arranged the stones are. Definitely worth the trip if can squeeze it in when visiting England! If I was local, would be cool to see during the winter and summer solstice.

Decent place to visit. 1. 30 pounds to visit is outrageous. Better to walk the trail (visitor car park to stonehedge- 30 min each way) and view for free. 2. After reaching the entrance a lad would ask if you have tickets, if you say no he will show you from where to enter the trail. 3. There's a long queue for the bus, to and fro, wait time is minimum 15 mins, walking could be quicker

Great wildlife park to visit. It's in the middle of nowhere, parking is great, animals are super accessible and the people are so nice. The cost was very reasonable. There are loads of different animals (wolverine, red panda, rhinos, lions, giraffes, ant eaters, rover otters, and lemurs to name a few.) The train around the park was quaint. I'd recommend visiting anytime. Ooooo, and there is an adventure park for the kids to play at if you just want to chill for thirty minutes with a 10" sausage!

Really good day out, helped by being very reasonable weather for the time of year. No rain, not too cold, some sunshine. It was busy, being half term, but manageable and well organised. The restaurant was very busy at midday but is was moving quickly and tables being cleaned regularly. Not too long to wait for decent hot food. The animals looked well cared for and their enclosures really well thought out. Definitely more than enough to see in one day. The Rhinos seemed to be part of a successful breeding program. Throughout my childhood there were only 3 then 2 rhinos. Now there seemed to be 7 including some very cute looking young ones. The grounds were particularly impressive considering the time of year. Clearly a lot of effort goes into maintaining it this well. All in all would definitely recommend for a day out.

We couldn't access cheaper tickets as we were buying tickets on the day. However the price seemed reasonable. We had a fabulous daym. The grounds and gardens looked beautiful especially as it was autumn with all the beautiful colours. Plenty to keep us occupied and we wished we had arrived earlier. Lots of fascinating frogs, insects, snakes and bats. Some animal such as the apes and birds seemed a bit limited for space although all seemed well cared for. The lions were lively and the range of animals great. Highlights have to be seeing baby rhinos Mo and Marcus. Mo was indoors staying close to mum. Marcus was outdoors with mum and extended family...he put on quite a show with excitable bounds. Great to see such an endangered species thriving here. The train wasn't running as it was off season.

Had a very nice day. Very nice experience during the visit. The park is very easy to find with plenty of parking. The staff is very nice and helpful. The gardens are very nice and full of vivid coloured plants. You can stroll around the park in a relaxing enjoyable atmosphere and with a dog friendly policy. The park is easily accesible for wheel chair users and the benches around the park come in handy for those who have issues walking longer distances. The park beeing situated in a field away from towns, villages is very nice and gives you a better touch with nature. The large animal section is very relaxing with benches placed along it, you can have a picnic while watching the rinos, giraffes, elephants. Also note that lions might take a nap exactly when you want to film or take a photo of them...with patience you can still catch them moving around. The in park restaurant offers good food and you can enjoy the food outside in nice weather. Kids playground close to the restaurant. There are food&drink kiosks around the park. Toilets also around the park. There's a train that takes round the park for extra cost. The souvenir shop is nicely organised, affordable prices. The plush animals are very nicely made. Definitely worth a day visiting. There are tours available for groups or private. Best to buy tickets in advance. You'll find a nice biodiversity animal range.

I have visited with my kids. The place is very well maintained, the animals all seem happy and well kept, and there are some gorgeous spieces. You may need a full half day to enjoy possibly more if the weather is good. The restaurant (self service) is ok quality, the queue to get food may be about 30 mins and outside (so if it's raining you'll get wet).

Really beautiful place. Just a lovely park with thid anazing array of animals very thoughtfully housed to feel like you are amongst them. Lots of walk through areas to share spsce with birds and lemurs etc. Highly recommend. Very serene and wonderful. Not zoo like at all.

As someone who often goes to zoos I would say it's one of the best in the whole country! So many animals to see and you can get nice and close. The walls are placed well for toddlers to see without needing to be picked up the whole time and my dog was able to come and adored seeing zoo animals for the first time. The animals looked very well looked after. The staff were very friendly and chatty and really knew their stuff. We even met the owner who knew every staff member by name and was very polite. The site is well laid out and very clean. There is even a little train which goes around most of the zoo which was the perfect way to keep a toddler moving on with promise of seeing the train to past. Overall such a lovely day.

What started as a quick detour on our way back to London turned into the most relaxed shopping experience we've had in ages! Arriving two hours before closing on Friday was absolutely brilliant timing - no crowds, no stress, just peaceful browsing through a genuinely charming outlet. The £2.50 parking felt totally reasonable, and honestly, it was refreshing not getting gouged like at some places. The covered design is genius! While most UK outlets leave you battling whatever weather throws at you, this place keeps you cozy year-round. Perfect for our unpredictable seasons. We snagged some great sporting goods and fashion bargains - yes, "discount" designer prices are still pricey, but definitely better than full retail madness. The food court and coffee shops were perfect for a quick break, and everything felt clean and well-managed. Two hours flew by exploring this compact but well-curated space. It's refreshingly manageable - you can actually see everything without feeling overwhelmed. Our spontaneous stop turned into a thoroughly pleasant shopping adventure that left us both happy and satisfied!

Visited the Swindon Designer Outlet mainly for clothes and shoe shopping and was really pleased with the variety and the deals available. Lots of well-known brands and genuine discounts, so it’s easy to find something good without paying full price. The whole outlet has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, clean, bright, and well organised. It’s great that most of it is covered too, so the weather doesn’t spoil your day. There are several cafés and restaurants, and I appreciated that a few have halal options, which made eating there much easier and more enjoyable. They also got solat / prayer / multi-faith room near to Clarks, Slim Chickens, French Connection. It’s also very family-friendly, with play areas for children and plenty of space to walk around with buggies. You can easily make it a half-day trip with the family; shopping, eating, and letting the kids have some fun. Parking can get quite busy, especially on weekends, but overall it was a really good experience. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxed shopping day with family or friends.

All I can say is this is the best Designer Outlet I have been too! Although M&S Outlet didn’t have any air con it was too hot in there. Besides that they have a very good brands at the Outlet. Worth a visit if you’re driving along the M4.

This place is a hidden shopping gem in Swindon. There are a host of Mid level brands available to shop at. There are also a lot of food outlet like Five Guys, Starbucks, Mexican etc. The toilets are clean and makes me feel ive got a bit of Dubai in Swindon.lol. It was a good place for me to kill time before my train. There is also a dedicated play area for children.

I really do like this mall. Although its not massive, it has a good variety of stores for shopping, and particularly boasts a great selections of places to eat and drink. I frequent this place regularly and can say that its always been impeccably clean and seemingly well-run. Kudos to the staff and management.

It's ok. Best part is that the management company were able to use a world class old building to develop as an outlet, complete with stream locomotive and historic plaques

Nice set of shops, not the largest outlets around though. Parking is plentiful and free for blue badge holders. Nice system of scanning the blue badge when returning to the car to get the free parking.

A magical place. So wonderful to just wander around the stones, the trees. Plenty of places to eat and drink. The 'Elements' shop is incredible.. Don't miss it. The museum is pretty small but worth visiting. Parking in Avebury is a problem... Only paid.. But if you want to do a bit of walking, you can park outside the village in a by lane and walk in as I did getting extra sites in like 'The Sanctuary ' and some barrows too. Totally worth visiting!!!

I always enjoy neolithic ruins/monuments and this is definitely one of the better ones I've been too. Plenty of formations and other things to see and walk to in the surrounding area as well. Definitely recommend.

Avebury is a magical place, defo worth the visit. The stone circle here feels more alive and peaceful unlike Stonehenge that can get very crowded as you can imagine, it's freely open to walk among the stones and feel the ancient energy of the place! The village, the museum, as well as the nice nearby trails making it a perfect day-trip for anyone interested in history, spirituality, or just a beautiful walk through the English countryside.

This was an amazing site to see and visit. The stone circles were spectacular. The fact that you can still go up to them and touch them, is a huge positive. The only thing lacking were benches, for older, handicapped or special needs people to sit on.

As a member of English heritage we didn't have to pay parking but people were moaning about having to pay for a full day no other options and £8 to much. We went in the museum which explained a lot about the excavations and all the artifacts that were found in the ditches. The walk around the stones was getting muddy with all the rain but it was still a good day out.

Worth the visit. I thought better than going to Stonehenge, only have to play for parking, you can walk around the stones and village for free. Bigger layout than Stonehenge, but not quite as spectacular stones.

This is a picturesque and historic attraction nestled in the Cotswolds. Built in the late 18th century, this iconic folly sits atop one of the highest points in the region, offering breathtaking views that stretch across multiple counties on a clear day. We arrived after closing time after 5pm. So, we parked just on the side road close to the entrance without needing to pay. I would say :narrow road nearer to the tower to drive. Didn't go in the tower but the views are worth the hike. Great shop and cafe. There is a pay park at the top during opening time. Not recommended for disabled access as there's a moderately steep hill & a good 10-15 minute walk. Lovely views over the countryside when you get there though & the Tower is majestic when you come to it. As it's quite small, you do have to wait for others to come so we didn't go inside on our visit. It's £5 to park, £14 per adult to go up the tower and £12 for the nuclear bunker experience. Views from the hill outside the tower however are free and spectacular, Visitors can explore its small but informative museum, enjoy peaceful walks through the surrounding country park, and even tour a Cold War-era bunker nearby.

First time visiting Broadway Tower and its park. You can visit the park for free and see the deers and the beautiful view overlooking the countryside. It’s nice if you like to have a long and quiet walk. I personally haven’t walked around much as if was raining but I visited the inside. The tower is quite small with only three rooms to see and a rooftop. You always have an audio guide with some audios and videos to see. Here you can learn about the history of the tower and also some immersive stories. It is very interesting. The tower is beautiful inside and out. During Christmas it’s decorated so even more magical. The view from the rooftop is also amazing. I spent around 45 minutes inside but I listened to the audioguide. If you don’t, you can visit the tower for 20 minutes or less. So I recommend only if you’re interested in history and want to take your time. However I think the ticket is a bit expensive for the size of the tower. At least you contribute to the maintenance so it’s a good thing but the ticket could be a bit less expensive.

Wow simply an awesome little find on our travels in the Cotswold. We Drove straight past it and saw a busy carpark, and as we drove around the corner saw the gorgeous view's and the glorious Tower. So we did a U-Turn and drove back to the carpark, which from our days experience was really cheap £3. We had totally no Idea what we stumbled across , so parked up and went for a stomp around to see what it was all about. We spent a magical couple hours walking, looking around the tower and around the Nuclear Bunker. We only walked the outside, and didn't go inside, but what an amazing gorgeous walk with a couple of distance options for young , old and the enthusiastic. When you decide you have seen enough and had enough fresh air, the Cafe Bar, is a real mix of Joe blogs general public just wanting a coffee and snack or indulge if fine wine and fine food . It's a real mix lovelyness inside. This place is simply a must stop off point on your journey. It was

An impressive landmark with great views but massively overpriced. We paid £3 to park and a further £4 each to access the “grounds” as we couldn’t justify an extra £10 each to go inside the tower. The grounds themselves were nothing special with no clear signposting or information boards, so even that felt like £8 wasted. There are also two car parks, two cafes and a clothes shop for some reason. I’d advise trying to park close to the entrance, where parking appeared to be free, and taking in the views from there. Walking to the tower is also a good option if time and mobility/fitness allows.

Amazing experience! We booked tickets in advance and got to the tower early, before opening, to walk around and enjoy the view. Our tickets also included touring the WW II bunker located on the property nearby.

Lovely walk up to the tower. Lovely view of the countryside. Deer park with a stag and lots of does. Plenty of benches on the way up. But I didn't go into the tower as £14 entry!

The Tower is a beautiful landmark, nearby there is a nice café with a second one just further down in construction nearly finished. On a nice day You can enjoy the panorama and is perfect for a nice walk. Near the tower there are some red deers. The 14£ to go on top of the tower a bit overpriced to my opinion, considering the £5 for parking. Also the Nuclear bunker is interesting but I am not sure if there is an extra charge for that one as well.

We have visited the festival of light for a few years and this year’s has been our best experience yet! The lights were very well thought out and we thought that the theme was fantastic! The animals on the drive round safari were also more active than usual which was brilliant too.

Brilliant day out! So much to do and see here. Especially if you visit when the lanterns are out. The animals were all well looked after and settled in their enclosures. We went through the safari twice as the animals were just incredible! Would love to visit again soon!

Festival of lights is incredible! We had a lovely day at the drive through safari and a wonderful evening taking in the wonderful lights. This is the 4th time I have been to a festival of lights and this was by far the best one!

Great family day out with the choice to opt out of the safari should you wish. Plenty for children to do to keep them occupied and the Bat Cave is a great experience too.. The Festival of Light is becoming an annual visit for us and we love the different themes each year. This year's Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run went down a storm with the children..🥰

We were at longleat for the festival of lights and enjoyed a full day exploring the park including the jungle cruise and safari bus. There was plenty to see and do one of the favourites was the bat cave and on both trips the staff were very helpful and informative. In the evening we enjoyed an amazing light festival and Christmas stalls.

Wow!!!! What an amazing day. Can't wait to do it again some time. The whole day had the wow factor. The safari was amazing, the light festival exceeded our expectations. We were able to take our own food, we could navigate the day at our own pace. So much to see, good variety of animals to see and up close too. Not too over crowded, loved the big tent for children to do activities in, sit down and relax on bean bags without having to pay additional charges, good value for money and will definitely recommend. A wonderful treat for the family.

Such wow factor. Everything was great. A bit busy and wet onThe Saturday but Friday was lovely and relaxed. We saw soooo many animals up close and the Farmhouse is stunning. We will be back!

Less of the castle may be toured than expected, because it also continues to be a private residence, but the historical exhibition, gardens, and rooms that are open are all very well presented - a glimpse into a fascinating chapter of Saxon & Tudor royal history and contemporary restoration. Unfortunately, they prohibit any photography inside, making the travel photo album less rich and devoid of the nicely appointed castle interior.

Spening a few days recently in the Cotswolds Sudely Castle research promised to be a 'must visit' place. Great decision and a great experience. The displays are some of the best we have ever seen and the history attached to Sudely Castle fascinating. We got completely absorbed in it all. If within an hour of the Castle then well worth the journey. Most enjoyable day, thoroughly recommended.

Ok. Very pricey as we hadn't realised that a family ticket only counts up to ages 15 as children. So £78 for a family of 4 with two teens. The law doesn't count them as adults, but this place does somehow 😊 Cafe staff were clearly having a lovely time, but forgot to put our food order through and when asked about it they batted us away. Turns out it hadn't been ordered, so an hour wait. Rectified by giving a refund and free food, but would have preferred to eat when we needed to and our enquiry to have been properly looked in to first time. Ghost talk was ..... not really a ghost talk. I'm not sure if the lady was standing in for someone else, but she didn't seem to know much and had started 3 minutes early so we don't know what we missed. . We felt sorry for her, but it it had a low sense of drama and there weren't many stories despite the promotion. A lovely drive and an impressive venue. Helpful tour guides and some nice displays. The maze has seen better days though. All in all it was a beautiful building with some great artefacts and films about the wealthy family who lovingly restored it. But it's a very expensive day out unless you have under 15's and it felt a little uncoordinated in all honesty. You may have better luck than us and had it not cost so much as might not have been disappointed.

A beautiful stately home to visit. The history that comes with this Castle tells us about King Henry VIII and his wives in particular Catherine Paar. Queen Catherine is in a tomb in the beautiful Cathedral on site. It was an interesting tour from a historical point if view through to today. Elizabeth, Lady Ashcombe has now been the chatelaine of Sudeley Castle for over 50 years. She has overseen the survival and ongoing restoration of this beautiful place. The gardens are just beautiful and meticulously cared for.

Sudeley Castle is a breathtaking blend of history, beauty, and tranquility. The rich royal heritage including the resting place of Katherine Parr is fascinating, and the castle interiors are captivating. The gardens are simply spectacular, with colour, charm, and peaceful corners everywhere you turn. Friendly, knowledgeable staff make the experience even better. A must visit gem in the Cotswolds memorable and inspiring.

I think because this castle isn’t enormous it’s possible to really get a feel for the buildings and grounds. The history of the castle and its occupants is told with artifacts, drawings and dramatic displays. Beautifully presented by volunteer guides who all demonstrated a passion for the castle! The landscaped grounds are interesting and the bordering fields, complete with sheep make this a truly bucolic scene! The chapel on the grounds is definitely worth visiting; Katherine Parr is entombed here. Also, a large chart which traces the lineage of the castle owners, back to Henry VIII, is fascinating. Great lunch there, too! No photographs allowed in the castle, since the owner lives on site.

Fantastic place to visit & so much to see. Well laid out circuit that takes you round the castle, gardens & chapel. So many exhibits and a ton of information covering the 1000 years of Royal history. Great day out.

We had a fabulous day out at Stourhead. The views and walks were amazing. The house was also so interesting! Unfortunately I can't rate it a 5 star this time as the lake had blue-green algae (lots of good warning signage though) and the flower beds and gardens were looking very dry and a bit unkempt. We will definitely visit again in Spring!

Lovely walk around a lake. Easy access and nice views. Busier than expected at October half term. Good setting off point for other walks outside the grounds of Stourhead house. Large car park, pub (check opening times), farm shop.

One of the most beautiful places ive visited recently, the architecture and the scenery is just amazing, absolutely perfect for a family to visit or walk the dog . Stourhead estate on the Wiltshire-Somerset border is the perfect day out for everyone. A breathtaking 18th century landscape garden with lakeside walks, grottoes and classical temples is only the beginning. You can also visit Stourhead House, a Palladian mansion with a fantastic regency library and beautiful art collection. Then why not climb the 205 steps to the top of King Alfred's Tower, an amazing red-brick folly, for vistas over Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, or explore one of our Iron Age hill forts.

We went on a weekend in October and there were queues to get in, but once on the grounds it didn't feel too busy at all. The autumnal colours made made the scenery all that more stunning. If you don't want to grab a sit down meal before or after your walk, I'd recommend packing a picnic

Excellent place for a day out, lots of things to see! Definitely one of my favourite National Trust places so far, highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a lovely day at stourhead visiting with my parents. The National trust House and gardens was really well set up. Probably the best National trust House and gardens for children to visit - obviously have to be careful of them around the lakes but lots of interesting things for them to do and see including in the house. The house itself you could only see downstairs which was slightly disappointing but the bits that you could see were really impressive - that included interesting architecture plus an extensive set of paintings, the furniture and the library outstanding from my perspective. The volunteers were really enthusiastic and explained about the different rooms and previous owners of the building. The house gardens and lakes are of course also very photogenic. The walk around the lakes takes about an hour we stopped on occasion because it was very hot to look inside the different grottos and buildings around the lake. Most of the refreshments and facilities are up near the house so it's worth getting ready for the walk. There are some steep cobbled sections which can be slippery in wet weather. We found a photographic exhibition was very interesting actually displayed in the gardens of the house.

Second time visiting, but in the rain which was different altogether, in a good way. Lots of features to look at when walking the vast grounds and the house is interesting, full of beautiful books and furniture as well as paintings with hidden features. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful gardens. Especially in autumn with all the autumnal colours. I would think it is stunning through all of the seasons. Very well maintained with lots of interesting information about trees dotted about. I learnt a few things. There is a 2000 year old lime tree that doesn’t look that old. I found that fascinating. Very good for children. You walk along a lovely wooden bridge amongst the tops of the trees. It’s a bit cheaper to go in the week than at the weekend. You can buy a membership that is well worth it if you intend to go a few times. It was busy so it seems it is very popular there. Lots of parking. You can’t do it all in one visit so we will definitely be going again. They also do concerts there.

Always a great place to visit anytime of year but it is special in the autumn. Walk further away and you soon lose the people. Take time to read about the specimen trees. Lovely quality shop and cafe. Wonderful to visit trees that were living long before you were born and hopefully still there for great grandchildren. Puts life in prospective

We visited in late October—and wow, it was absolutely breathtaking. You honestly can’t imagine how beautiful a forest can be until you see this place. The colors, the atmosphere, everything felt straight out of a painting. Totally worth the trip.

It gets very busy when the weather's good, but the autumn leaves were very beautiful. The bridge was really good too, and there were plenty of vans selling different types of food and drink. It's worth getting a map, and you can pre-book online

Such a beautiful annual tradition my family and friends have of going to see the beautiful colours of autumn at Westonbirt. It never disappoints, and the further you go in, the less busy it becomes! Most of the area is accessible to wheelchair users, which is good!

This has to be the best place to see so many of the worlds loveliest trees form all over our planet. Their maple and Acer trees have to be seen to believe how stunningly beautiful they are, we were totally taken aback my their presence. What a brilliant place to spend several hours in absolute heaven on earth. I think it is a must do, if you are anywhere near it, at any time of the year.

The trees at the arboretum were amazing but a part from the trees there is no much more to see. I do appreciate that arboretums are for trees mainly but other parks I have visited before offer more interesting features such as sculptures, ponds, pagodas and other types of focal point that make the experience more memorable and unique. The map provided was not easy to read, so finding your way around was challenging .The entrance price was very steep at £21, so no much value for money.

I enjoyed a wonderful noonday service and a lovely tower tour, which is definitely worth doing. The tower tour allows you to see interesting details inside (clock, bells) and offers a great view out over the town and countryside. Shout out to our guide, whose name I cannot recall, but she had only been on the job for a week and was already a pro. The nave and the chapels are beautiful with an especially interesting ceiling. The volunteers or staff managing the line at the entrance could use a primer on welcome and hospitality. Everyone else was a pleasure.

I had a great Tower tour experience with the Irish and English guides! It was so fun ringing the bells and learning about the normally hidden parts of this historic building. Thank you!

We attended the Bath Abbey Tower Tour and had a wonderful time! Lots of steps, you go right to the top of the Abbey (which is quite high from the ground). Incredible views of the city and such an informative tour with Toby & Jamen. Thanks again!

Loved visiting the Abbey to see the Peace Doves Art Installation. Highly recommend. We were in awe ..... the architecture and stained glass windows are incredible. A warm welcome from the lovely staff and volunteers made our visit perfect.

Lovely few hours around Bath Abbey. Pay for entry (worth it) but got a free 1hr tour which was very informative. Also paid for the tower tour, which again takes an hour. You climb 240 odd steps to bell tower, clock tower and onto the top of roof. Tour done by El and Amy (I think) who were friendly helpful and informative. The climb is a bit of a challenge and a squeeze at times but worth it. I didn't do the discovery centre and museum that are also included in the Abbey entry price.

Taking the tour is a MUST!! So informational and love that each group is small enough where it feels more intimate. Like a private tour. Fun for the entire family. Exploring the beautiful abbey and being able to climb to the very top and on the inside where history is hidden. Listening to the bells rings and the tour guides were so wonderful making it fun for everyone. Highly recommend this experience when visiting Bath. Be sure to wear suitable shoes for climbing steep stairs if you take a tour.

Wel worth the admission fee as a guided tour is included for those who wish to take part. This is highly recommended. Fascinating building and history. Gift shop.

A fantastic experience! Really enjoyed exploring the history of the Roman baths and how interactive the museum is. It really immerses you in another world and the main thermal bath pool is gorgeous to just sit down at for a moment in between learning about the history. A free audio guide is also included in the ticket, which was very welcome. Staff are kind and the gift shop has some lovely items, too. 5/5 would recommend when visiting Bath.

The must visit attraction if you ever find yourself in Bath! I will start with the fact that entry was 36 USD for one person, however, this is one of the few times I will say you are getting a lot for your money and keep in mind the amount of protection / preservation that the money goes to. Your ticket comes with an audio tour (which I skipped because I find them unbearable), there are many signs with explanations on what you're seeing, access to both floors of the main bath house, the interior has plenty of additional museum and underground excavated activities. It really does feel like a mini Pompei in the middle of England. The views are lovely, it wasn't as crowded as I expected in early November too which was a plus for taking my time to enjoy everything!

If you're visiting Bath, you have to go, its the Law! OK, it clearly isn't but you're going aren't you, because if you haven't before you need too. It's great, not expensive and spent 3.5 hours there, which probably says it all really. You won't be disappointed although I didn't think much of the shop but that's a minor detail right?

The spa is amazingly set out. The free audio phones are really good to listen to information. I loved that the visuals were added so that you were looking at rocks but could see how they would have looked in the day. Plus on the wall videos showing life there. Quite a bit of nudity be warned! The Romans weren't shy! A lovely experience. However, it is a little pricey. I wouldn't repeat it as the cost is a little high. I suppose it pays for maintenance.

Very nice, it is always very interesting to go and see sights like these. I was very surprised to see that the water was not very clean. I can only hope that when the Romans were there that it was much better, but it was very interesting to see the intricate bath house with all of the amenities that they had built

A must visit if you are ever in Bath, even despite the high price of admission. It is definitely worth it specially if you use the audio guide. I highly recommend buying a ticket in advance as the lines for buying a ticket on the day are pretty long.

Visited the Roman Baths on my latest day trip to Bath and it’s definitely a must-see! Initially was a bit skeptical of the high ticket price but once I was inside, I actually thought it was really good value because there’s just so much to see and one could easily spend a couple of hours inside! It’s also great that there are so many indoor elements for when the weather is not great. The staff working there were also lovely and really enjoyed all the interactive elements like the holograms. Don’t miss this on your next visit to Bath!

Iconic spot to visit in Bath and easy to find. A bit more challenging to photograph as it's so wide! Worth a quick stroll or you can have a picnic on the green if weather permits.

As sightseeing goes, it is on the list if visiting Bath. On a sunny day, it would be great to take a picnic and sit across in the park. Today was not too sunny. Shame about the scaffolding and the modern cars, but you can't have everything.

There's not much I can say that others haven't already. A stunning piece of Georgian architecture, and I'm pretty certain the occupants of the 30 terraced houses are sick of people fawning over. Half covered in scaffold or tarpaulin, it makes you wonder it there's a local myth about the world coming to an end if it's ever completely devoid of work being carried out (like the Tower of London has a myth that if the Ravens ever all leave, the Monarchy will fall). We stayed a good distance away, so we could take in the grandeur of the place. However, at the end of the day, it's a row of houses - so you don't want to be too close to appear nosey. Just a quick walk from the town, and worth the walk to see it.

This is amazing royal crescent and with sprawling gardens. The architecture is admirable and pulls you to take snapshots. One of the top attractions of UK

We went on a toot bus ride of the whole city and skyline. We got off and visited the royal crescent. Took some pictures, had a look around and jumped back on the next bus. Lovely area.

Make sure to have a tour guide explain the significance of this place. There's a large, manicured open field in front where people are walking their dogs, running, and enjoying the scenery.

This must be one of the most beautiful Cathedrals that I have visited. You can feel the history as you walk round. There are a number of wonderful chapels throughout. The vaulted ceiling is stunning as well as the stained glass windows. I would recommend going up to the whispering gallery. The views down into the Cathedral really worth it and tovaee the magnificent organ up close.

We really enjoyed visiting Gloucester Cathedral.The construction began in 1089 the Nave was completed in 1130.Over the centuries mor parts were added with different architectures styles. A magnificent building and it's said to be one of the finest ecclesiastical building in the UK.We really enjoyed ambling around the ethereal cloisters(a special treat for Harry Potter fans) and the beautiful stained glass windows

The Cathedral and its grounds are amazing. Entry is free but they recommend a donation and there are two tours that do cost extra. They are the crypt and highlights tour. We went on the crypt tour and our guides Peter and Graham were excellent. There are many hidden gems here and the staff and clergy we met were excellent. A great few hours can be spent here, it is very disabled friendly and there is a suprise for the Harry Potter fans.

Poppy Fields by Luxmuralis - Premium Experience Great experience. A premium ticket allowed us fast track entry (it was raining, so this was much appreciated) & a faster entry to the 1st experience. It also allowed access to an upstairs section which had good views, plus a cheeky glass of sparkling wine. The cathedral looked lovely lite up. Great experience overall & a good reminder of the sacrifices made during war & that peace is better than war.

Absolutely stunning. Voluntary donation to get in £5 or £10 for a family. Harry potter was filmed here it's stunning 😍 well worth a visit. We met up with friends and kids from ages 2 to 13 had an amazing day. So much to see and the architecture is truly breathtaking, there is 12pm prayers, you can light candles and so many interactive things. Wheelchair friendly and also visually impaired friendly (blind and deaf) absolutely brilliant day out.

Visited this amazing cathedral which holds the tomb of Edward II among others. Having visited Westminster abbey this was just as impressive. It was a pleasure to visit, and not to be missed. We did find parking available and entry to the abbey is via donation.

This is a lovely cathedral that combines solid Norman design with some of the earliest examples of graceful Gothic perpendicular architecture, and demonstrates how cathedral design evolved over the centuries. One will be impressed by how the huge, solid pillars in the nave - still tinged red by fires in the 12th Century - contrast with the delicate, magnificent fan vaulting of the cloisters. The cathedral is the burial place of a king, and the intricately carved tomb of Edward II is splendid. Similarly, the Great East Window, which was the largest of its time when installed, glows with medieval glass. Carved stone ball flowers, a 14th Century decoration feature, abound inside and out. Amazing gargoyles, some of them new replacements for older carvings, decorate exterior eaves. Entry to the cathedral is by donation (£5 suggested) and taking a £8 volunteer-led Highlights Tour is recommended (our guide Mags was excellent). Since Gloucester Cathedral was used as a film location in three Harry Potter movies, it was fun to learn where scenes had been filmed, see the temporary fixes that had to be done to camouflage such things as light switches, and to hear how those familiar with the cathedral were amused with film studio continuity having actors enter one door and then appear on the other side in some completely different location. If driving to Gloucester Cathedral, one will find many pay by phone parking spots on nearby streets. Allow 2 to 2.5 hours for your visit.

A warm welcome to a warm cathedral with free entry which is a big plus these days. Dogs welcome too. We enjoyed our stay and contributed well in excess of the modest £5 suggestion. The linked Mappa Mundi and chain library exhibition is a must visit and is subject to a separate charge. There is a small café too and outside seating in warmer weather. Highly recommend place to visit.

We were recommended this by a friend to visit as a must see attraction in Hereford. The Cathedral alone is an amazing experience to discover all the historical information and architecture. The Mapps Mundi and Chained Library is a unique experience with excellent staff who happily explain all aspects of these unique artifacts. The Cathedral is free to enter but you have to pay a reasonable fee for the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. There is also a cafe and toilets if needed and the whole area is ideal for those that have mobility issues or are wheelchair users.

Free to enter cathedral. A wonder of craftsmanship and design. A place of worship that's existed according to CoE for over 1300 years. The Cathedral has been there since 1300. There is an exhibition there on maps and books from over 700 years ago, it's a paid for ticket entrance but worth it. Nice gardens and cafe.

We went to see the chained library and the magna Carta Very interesting. Great Cathedral and of course has the SAS window. Very interesting vist and quite a nice cafe.

A wonderful cathedral with a great deal to see. Seeing the Mappa Mundi and chained library is not cheap at £7 per adult but was highly worthwhile. The Mappa Mundi is much more impressive and fascinating than I expected from reproductions.

Went mainly to see the Mappa Mundi and the chained library. Volunteers freely offered interesting information on the exhibitions and there's the usual nice coffee and gift shops. Friendly people working and volunteering here, as you'd expect. A pleasant way to spend some time in a pleasant town.

Great place to visit. 'City Praise' is a great event to go to. Every so often, almost once a month, possibly two, the various church congregations in Hereford gather at the Cathedral to worship together.
