Very unique, beautiful place 😍, just because of that, it always overcrowded, easy you can find, bar 🍸, restaurant for snacks 😀, and also good 👍 to have a shower 🚿 €1 /2 min. , toilet 🚻 free off charge. Many places for park your car if you are disabled, right at the main entrance. Main car park 160 meters away, but with barriers 2 meters high restriction. We have a wonderful time, hope U 2.

​A visit to the Cascate del Mulino is a beautiful experience. There's a mythological tale that claims the thermal waters were created to make humans more meek and less aggressive. While the water wasn't as warm as I had expected, the stunning scenery makes up for it. The best part is that entry to the pools is free. There's also a cafe right next to the pools where you can use the restroom.

What a great experience in the Cascate del Mulino hot springs. We being there in the middle of September, the water was very pleasant (warm bath temperature), no ants or other insects in the water as I read in other reviews, I guess it is seasonal. The water had a distinct smell, perhaps hydrogen sulfide that commonly found in natural hot springs. The springs located just a 10 minutes walk from a public parking, with hourly pay 3 euros, there was a plenty of space around 1pm. Admission to hot springs is free

Very unique experience; to watch the view of Tuscany valley while resting in hot water as if you are in a open air Spa :) but natural. Also thanks to staff for kind service at the facility. Note: shower, hair dryer, towels and cupboards for your cloths are with fee, rest is free (no entrance fee) Do not forget to bring your slippers, if you do, anyhow you will manage somehow and enjoy like we did 😄

This place was an absolute highligh of our vacation. I love the less traditional activities. What makes this place interesting is that you can find the cascades in the middle of a nature, it's completely free, you only pay for parking and water has according to google 37.5°C. You only pay for parking from 8am to 8pm. The water smells a little bit like sulphur, but nothing horrible. First, I was afraid what is inside of water but there are small round rocks and it's not slippery at all. It's opened nonstop and you get the best experience if you come early at the morning or if you stay after sunset when outside is colder so you can enjoy the warm water (we tried both). There is no place for changing but there is a restaurant nearby with toilettes. We saw many people coming in their bathrobes! That was cool. The best is probably to stay in an accomodation nearby and change at your room.

Amazing free hot springs, open 24 hours. I recommend coming early in the morning or at night to avoid crowds, but even when it’s busy the place is still great. Parking is about 300 meters away and paid from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Fantastic spot. Great to lounge in the pools above the falls. Fantastic to slide down the falls and wade down the canyon but bring a rope to help you climb back out as there is NOT a permanent one there for everyone to use. You will be stuck down there if you don’t have a rope

Beautiful sandy beach that spans a huge distance. Water and sand quality is very nice. There is sometimes debris from the trees and algae but if you walk a little bit you can definitely find spots that are clean. Parasol and beach chairs are extra ($) This public beach is very busy so it is best to get there early.

Lovely, long sandy beach. Early in the morning was super to walk. Later in the morning it filled up pretty full even for late June. I found a nice hill with a breeze to hang my hammock and enjoyed watching over the crowded super-hot sand.

The eastern beach looks nice, nothing more... Public parking is about 15min walk from the beach. The eastern public beach is far away from the expectations of a wild beach. I guess there's another specific access to the untamed areas of the beach. Navigation apps couldn't suggest anything a car can reach. Maybe I'll get successful next time...

Lovely quiet area and nice olive trees but the whole visit was a disappointment because of the lady in the shop. She was very unpolite and as soon as I stepped inside the small shop she told me the shop will close in 2 minutes. It was 17.54. 🙄 I thought the whole place was open until 18.30. The abbey had a mass so we didn’t enter into it. The smell that came from that small shop was so good so it was a pity that I couldn’t buy anything.

Definitely the most beautiful abbey in Italy! We've come here for at least 20 years. In the beginning there were almost no tourists. Now the way down is paved, paid parking and there even is a shop at the top of the hill..... But still it's the most beautiful abbey of Italy :-) Try to stay for a service when you're here.

The Abbey, a jewel of medieval mysticism. It is one of the most beautiful monuments in an ancient Roman style, which also has elements of the French and Lombardy styles. Legend has it that the abbey was founded by Charles the Great in 781. The king and his army stopped here on the way back from Rome as the soldiers were afflicted by an unknown pestilence. An angel appeared to Charlemagne, telling him to make his men drink an infusion with a local herb. The cure worked and the army was saved so the king decided to build the church in gratitude.

Incredible wine tasting experience with Sergio. He is super knowledgeable about wines and gave listened to what we liked and didn’t like in detail, and introduced us to some new ones that we thoroughly enjoyed. This spot also has some incredible food to enjoy while wine tasting, they know how to do it right!

Wine tasting of 3 wines cost €25 which was a bit steep but the wines were pretty good. Came with bread sticks which were surprisingly good too. Waiter was meant to bring cheese but never came despite reminding them

Excelent wines and experience! The Somelier (forgot to ask her name, but she used to be a teacher) was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and lovable! We learned a lot from her! Banfi was my favorite. Stunning place inside the old fortress of Montalcino. Beautiful wine selection. The waiter was really friendly and incredibly knowledgeable of wines. The selection of wines is beautiful. Open air 13th Century Abbey just outside of Siena. If this is something you’re into and enjoy – very much worth a visit. Looks spectacular from the outside and magical from the inside. Certainly unique. If you are not into architecture, historical buildings or church history, this is probably not for you. There is little explanation of the place once you’re there, so you need to ideally already be a fan or interested. Also visit the Chapel on the hill whilst you're in the area

It’s small so only takes 10 mins to look round. Has a small shop to the side and people working there who seem proud of the place. Not worth coming specially, but take a look if in the area. Also free entry.

A nice peaceful place to visit. There is a large free parking lot which is a 10 min walk away. From the Abbey there is a steep amd rocky trail leading up to the church (shorter and more scenic than walking back around via the road) where you can enter for free and see the sword in the rock. From there you can complete the loop on the road back to the parking lot.

The Roman Theatre in Volterra is a truly impressive spot to visit. Even without knowing much about history, you can feel the atmosphere of the place when standing among the ruins and looking at the old stone seats and stage area. The setting is quiet, scenic, and gives you a sense of stepping back in time. It’s one of those places where you can slow down, take in the view, and imagine what life here was like centuries ago. Definitely a highlight when exploring Volterra and worth including in your visit.

€23 to see some ruins is a joke. You can have a better view from the wall above it and that view is free of charge. I have recently visited an ancient Greek amphitheatre in Taormina for €14. That is a much better preserved site for less.

Nice sandy beach in Lacona. In the morning very crowded and noisy. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby so you don't have to search far to find a place to eat. We didn't find showers, unless in paid service area.

The beach is very cool but the guys operating the blue umbrellas are a bit shifty. We had been coming for almost two weeks, renting two sun chairs and the umbrella for 30€ a day. Suddenly one day they tell us our kids are too big all of a sudden and we need to rent one sunchair more. Funny thing is our two elder daughters (16 and 14 years old) are the same size but apparently only one extra chair was needed. Such greed is a pity.

Minus stars for the lack of infrastructure for such a wide central beach, parking is limited, no showers. Walked the beach back and forth in search of public toilets, haven't found any. Googled it...haven't found any..or they must be really well hidden. Asked some beach workers, the answer was to use the bars toilets. I wonder how families with kids manage such situation. Spent about two hours here with the family ranging from little kids to older adults and had a great experience at this zoo. We got to see a lot of different animals including the wolves, bears, zebras, ostriches, penguins, monkeys, and giraffes. Great way to spend an afternoon. There were a bit of hills to walk up and down but there was a nice amount of shade so it was bearable in the hot weather.

Very nice Zoo! A bit smaller that I expected but animals are well taken care of and have very nice enclosures (even if some may look dated). Biggest issue is getting there which is very difficult without a car. The are busses that in the morning and then after 15:00 but if you arrive at let's say 9:00 (last morning bus), then by 12 you most likely have seen the whole place. We chose to go by foot from Pistoia (Google says it's 45 walk) but this way you end up walking by a very busy road without side road. There's also not much to see in the area besides the Zoo, so take it into consideration when planning to go there.

Nice Zoo. The distance between toilets and store and restaurant in the Zoo has been extremely well thought, I am saying that as a mother with 2 children. Also everything was quite clean. Only minus is that a lot of the "interesting" animals were not there/ or well hidden (Tiger, mini Hippo, Zebras etc.) but otherwise worth the visit.

Nice zoo, not too big. We went there on a bit of a rainy day. Luckily dogs were allowed un the zoo, and the animals reacted good on it. The zoo is very green in between woods and they have beautiful animals. Good restaurant too. It was very spontaneous to go there for us, but we enjoyed ourselves. We were in there for ±5h including long lunch at the restaurant.

It was a fun, relaxing ride, you have plenty of information available on the spot regarding its history an elevation angles. And the view from Montecatini Alto is magnificent. The funicular program makes it hard to miss the experience (it is open until 24.00).

The journey is gentle and slow enough to be able to enjoy the view. Staff were friendly and a return ticket is €7. We enjoyed our visit to Montecatini Alto, there are several small shops and a central square with restaurants, a bar, and Gelato shop. lots of outdoor seating and shade in a medieval village.

If you're in Montecatini then you should visit Montecatini Alto using the Furnicular! This is the mountain Railcar that takes you up to the small town with big views! Trains run every 30mins all day and night (not overnight) and tickets cost €7.50

Before I went to visit, I thought it would be overrated, old and uninteresting, but when I got there, I was completely wowed! The tower and surrounding buildings have been maintained in such a pristine way that they look like they were built last week. For a building that is over 850 years old, it sure has aged well. Iconic- such an amazing view. I loved this place but so crowded. I would recommend visiting the museum next to the tower of Pisa to get an amazing view with minimal people spoiling your photos. Also there is a restaurant in this museum and you get a stunning view. Recommend climbing the tower of Pisa that was amazing make sure you are willing to climb as can be tiring. Trainers recommended for the climb.

Had a lovely time here. The tower itself has a beautiful view when you're at the top. The steps are slippery tho so be careful aspecially when walking back down. The cathedral is gorgeous also on the inside. We bought tickets that included entree to all buildings and museums and also walked the walls of pisa all the way (which was quite long). Definitely recommend visiting and also going inside.

While in Pisa to see the Leaning Tower we went inside Cattedrale di Pisa. The beauty of design shows throughout the church. I lit a candle for a Catholic friend and walked around looking at all of the fine details. During our visit we could see the roof being replaced. Definitely a place you should stop and view if and when you make it to Pisa.

The building was amazing but everything else lacked in excitement. There was only one fountain open to obtain water to drink. Nothing else was open. I was under tge influence that there was access to the hot springs for wading but that wasn't the case. I did catch a local orchestra practicing. Honestly, that was the highlight of that visit

I walked the street and tje wall, everything was almost as a dream, I met fantastic people, I saw buildings that almost made me faint, it was like I was hit by Stendahls Syndrome. Didn't have a time for visit this place but from pictures i saw it seems quite empty inside and very simple. From outside its quite impressive though, 55 m high and 107 m in circumference, one of the largest in the World. Echo inside is very unique and its worth to hear the crew demonstration of this exquisite acoustic every 30min.

The Baptistery of Saint John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a baptistery in Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa. It is an outstanding monument of Italian Romanesque and Gothic architecture and sculpture. Construction began in 1152 and was completed in 1363. Chronologically, it is a later structure than the Pisa Cathedral and an earlier one than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

It was a great place to see along with the rest of the monuments in the plaza. Fair warning, beware of the people selling things that are not at a stand. If the police are walking around they will hide what they are selling and close their bags and head the opposite direction. It is really comical. The building itself has a lot of history and the inside is beautiful.

Included in the ticket price for €27 there was little to no queue and no timed entry so very easy to explore ,, the stairs to the first floor are a bit difficult to locate.. they’re immediately left as soon as you enter

If you're in or around Lucca and planning to see some mountains and nature, I'd recommend having a quick stop at Ponte della Maddalena. Parking is easy on the east/right side of the Bridge. Not too crowded when visiting in the middle of the day. If you're also looking for a pitstop or a quick lunch, three small osterias/restaurants are right next to the bridge.

If you want to visit the cave I would recommend to book the tour in advance or at least call them up the day before. We arrived to the town where the information desk was at 12:00 and were informed the last group had already left on the bus to see the cave at 11:00. For some reason, they had they last guided tour at 11am, which was extremely strange and there was no info on their website that said that prior reservation was required. It took us an hour to get to the place, so we were obviously a little disappointed. It could have been a great experience, but alas. Make your reservation ahead of time!

This is out of the beaten path attraction. You park near the ticket office and reach the cave by a bus (included in the tickets). You can only enter with a guided tour of about 2-2.5 hours. You can combine it with a 45 minute tour to the mercury mine nearby. Not all guides are fluent in English, but you can check this with the park by emails (and reserve a spot). There is a small kiosk at the cave entrance.

We walked from Vernazza to Monterosso. It took about an hour and a half. The first half hour, in particular, is quite tiring and challenging; you're walking uphill. There are beautiful views along the way. There's no way to refill your water bottle along the way, so stock up on water beforehand.

Please take cat food with you - lots if possible!!!!!! There is a cat village and a designated area to leave food so people can feed them over time. It is up to us to feed these homeless cats. Walked this trail today and to my surprise, there was a few homeless cats who are in a small gated area with cat houses and a sign that states something along the lines of “homeless and unloved cats, please feed” …there was no food there and they looked quite skinny. If you are planning to walk this trail, please bring a bag of cat food, maybe some wet cans (not tin, they can cut their tongue on those), water… whatever you can. If I had known this going into the hike, I would’ve brought it. I’m not sure what the deal is with any caretakers for the cats but it would be nice to have a sign or something prior to starting the trail to let people know there are cats along the way, so people can purchase food before going up…. Lots of people were very upset to see the cats there with no food and there’s nothing to do about it at that point… it is mid-trail and nothing around. Otherwise, it is very uphill so be very prepared - but the sights are well worth it!

Pro tip: apparently you need a Cinque Terre pass to enter but everyone was passing through just to check the views and then come back. This is where you'll take the best photo of Vernazza. The start is just on the side of a restaurant, to the left you'll see a narrow street.

3.6 km, about 2h walk. It tooked us 2h15 with a big break at a bar about 1km away from Monterosso, the only one along the way. Lots of steps, but pretty easy to walk with good shoes... And the viens are so worth it !

This is a very strenuous trail with 800 ft of elevation. It was quite difficult with many stairs on both the accent a decent. We’re in our 30s and 40s and it took us about two hours with several stops for photos and the drink water. The terrain is treacherous at times. Make sure you wear the appropriate shoes with tread and waterproofing if possible as it is very muddy in some areas. The views and experience is absolutely worth it though!

Very beautiful hike. WARNING for anyone that wants to do this hike but isn’t a seasoned hiker: start from Vernazza and go towards Monterosso!! I started from Monterosso and it was a LOT of steep stairs & uphill. I read a review from someone on here who talked about having to climb up on all fours… while I didn’t get to that level I DEFINITELY was feeling that review to my core 😂😭 If I were to do it again, I would start from Vernazza. It’s doable both ways, but know that it will be more difficult if you start from Monterosso. The views will be beautiful & the same whichever town you start from. I had to take a lot of breaks, but many people (both old & young) did the same so I didn’t feel too left out. I recommend you do the hike early in the morning or towards late afternoon, that way you can have a little bit of a breeze and it’s not constantly hot. For reference, we did the hike with a lot of breezes and I STILL had my shirt drenched with sweat. If it is rainy, be careful!! Wear appropriate shoes for that. We did it while it was sunny & dry but there were many areas that were slip-potential. Also, you can access the viewpoint of the Vernazza background for picture-taking WITHOUT having to hike. I have included a picture so you know which viewpoint I’m talking about.

Also, there was a small cat community (with little cat houses) that lives along the hike route close to Vernazza. A sign asks visitors to bring cat food/water because they have no owners. Wonderful weel kept Castle. From renovations. to 1800 renovations. Very interesting to see all the indise rooms, kitchen, cold storage, torture room. Eat downtown some very good restaurants.

Impressive medieval castle on a hilltop over a village. It's BIG and just after the holiday season it was almost deserted. We spent an hour or two roaming the ramparts, the many rooms (including a fascinating exhibition of 29th century socialist paintings) - and yes, the torture dungeon as well. We were pleasantly surprised to be left to roam the place on our own accord. The view of the valley from the ramparts is stunning.

Very interesting place with great views on the surroundings of Bardi. They definitely put a lot of interesting things to see inside those historic walls. When we were there a very interesting art exposition took place at the castle, worth to check out the rich programme throughout the year.

We were told that the castle wasn't much to look at. Being our first castle, it was fantastic. The view is incredible. There is a torture chamber. You can almost feel the people being tortured. Great experience. I can't imagine what castles the person who told us this was just ok has visited. This one was well worth the trip.

Wonderful castle with a gorgeous view and multiple things to visit : local craftmanshi museum, hunting museum, princes house, dungeon… and everything is included in the entrance fee. The restauration of the castle is really good (you can visit almost everything) and well suited for little middle aged fans.

Found this bay on the last morning of our stay in Sestri and had to stop and eat at a little osteria on the beach. It was so lovely and tranquil we ended up staying a lot longer than we had anticipated, but it was well worth it. Definitely worth a visit

Sitting high up on the hill in Montallegro, this is the first thing you see when you arrive via the Cable Car. It's just a short 10 min stroll to the church which is very pretty on the outside and highly decorated on the inside. A little more modern than other churches we have witnessed in surrounding towns and there are many tributes and photographs of loved ones who have past. They also have a gift shop if you feel the need to make a purchase.

We took the Tram up the the church, nice views. Its very peaceful amd you could contunue hiking around the back. There is also a restaurant behind the church. Inside the church locals were lighting candles and the ceilings were painted with bible stories. It seems this church serves as a sort of place of remembrance for deceased members, as silver hearts are hung everywhere. A small room in the back contains a miniature of the Church.

Since we went on Xmas day, there were literally nobody around. The drive through the hill (last 10-15mins of drive) is bit difficult since the width of the road is just enough for one vehicle. But with almost no traffic, seems to be ok. I love to visit the tourist places when it is empty, and I am glad I picked the Xmas day for the visit. There is a restaurant near this bridge, but was closed. The village also was very quite. Just my kind of place!

Amazing medieval bridge below which is an area of river perfect for swimming. Lots of families, my children had a great time swimming about looking at the fish. Some shade under the arches of the bridge, recommend taking a picnic.
