Overnewton Castle

Wedding venue
Sights & Landmarks
Overnewton Castle, located in Keilor, Victoria, is a stunning wedding venue with a rich history dating back to the mid-19th century. The Scottish Baronial style of the castle adds to its charm, and it even houses a beautiful chapel adorned with original oak wood panels from Scotland. Visitors can enjoy high tea and mansion tours while learning about the area's history from passionate staff members like Emma.
I took my daughter for high tea at Overnewton Castle, and it was spectacular! The grounds and castle are stunning to look out at and wander through. We selected a verandah seat, and it was the perfect choice. There were only 2 tables out there, so it was peaceful and relaxed. Plus, we got to enjoy the views and breeze. The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were incredible! So attentive, polite, and helpful. They went above and beyond to make my little girl feel like a princess. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Highly recommend for a mummy daughter date or a romantic afternoon date.

Disappointing High Tea Experience – Beautiful Venue, but Service Fell Short I attended a high tea at Overnewton Castle on the 11th of June with a group of friends. As a group that has experienced many high teas, we were sadly disappointed by the overall experience—especially given how beautiful the venue and gardens are. To begin with the positives: the setting is truly lovely, and most of the staff were courteous. In particular, Ashley stood out as an excellent team member—attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our visit. Her service and interaction was a highlight. However, the overall experience felt rushed and disjointed. We were offered a glass of bubbles shortly after being seated, only to be asked about our tea or coffee preferences almost immediately after. There was little time to relax and enjoy the flow of the service. The real letdown, though, was an interaction with one staff member—a young woman with red hair—who was noticeably rude and dismissive. When we politely asked for a cup of tea later during the sitting, she told us we couldn’t because there were only 10–15 minutes left. Ashley, on the other hand, was more than happy to oblige without hesitation. Moments later, the red-haired staff member returned with a teapot, placed it down abruptly, and sarcastically asked, “Do you need cups?”—despite not having brought any. One cup and saucer was brought to the table. No acknowledgement for my friends requests ever eventuated either.. It was a very unnecessary and unprofessional interaction that left a sour note at the end of our visit. It’s unfortunate that one staff member’s attitude overshadowed what could have been a charming afternoon. We hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the setting deserves a standard of service to match.

What a wonderful experience for little girls to dress up for Princess High Tea over school holiday . Never disappoints If your gluten intolerant. There high tea is amazing . Such a shame they are closing next year .

Overnewton Castle is full of magical charm. The gardens are stunning, the venue is fabulous and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The onsite accommodation is beautifully presented and perfect for your event and convenient stay at the Castle.

Went to 'High Tea' on Sunday and had a pleasant afternoon. The food was freshly, home made fare that looked and tasted delicious. Tasty trests on offer included mini brisket pies, mini vegetable quiche's, arancini balls, various finger sandwiches, savoury cheese and chive scones, white chicolate and rasperrsy scones macaroons and mini eton mess shooters. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and the tea and coffee was fresh and hot. The history of Overnewton Castle is documented with photographs in many of the rooms. Wandering around the inside of the buildings showcases beautiful antique fixtures, fittings and furniture and the gardens are delightful to stroll in. Overall, a wonderful afternoon indeed.

I’m really disappointed to be writing this on Mother’s Day, but our high tea experience at Overnewton Castle was incredibly underwhelming and ruined what should have been a special day. We paid $420 for four adults and two children, and the food simply didn’t reflect that. The scones were a major letdown—especially the plain ones, which were undercooked and raw in the middle. The rest of the menu was basic: a few pastries, chia pudding, some fruit, and one slider each with a flat, wrinkled bun that tasted as poor as it looked. The children’s meals were equally disappointing, with just one scone and a piece of toast no bigger than a finger. Even our mothers commented on how poor the food tasted. This was honestly the worst high tea we’ve ever tried. I’ve made way better scones and sliders myself at home. The venue itself is beautiful and the staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming, which we really appreciated. However, the food lacked quality, creativity, and care. Extremely disappointed and won’t be returning.

Went for a Christmas in July dinner. Lovely place. The food was delicious. Have to go back another time during the day to have a proper look around.

A delectable High Tea, the hot and cold savouries were delicious and the three varieties of scones were divine. A stroll in the beautiful Castle gardens afterwards made for a perfect Sunday afternoon. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Nature & Parks
Enchanted Adventure Garden is a nature wonderland in Melbourne, offering an array of activities for visitors of all ages. From tree surfing and canopy walks to tube slides and themed gardens, there's something for everyone. Kids can enjoy treetop zip lines, hedge mazes, aerial obstacles, and more. The park also features an outdoor sculpture park and an indoor three-dimensional maze.
Undoubtedly, I highly recommend this wonderful place. It’s delightful at any time of the year. It’s a true masterpiece, with plenty of playgrounds for kids, and I would even say for adults too. Being there felt like stepping into a movie. This place especially reminded me of the film "Edward Scissorhands"! 1990)😊👍 This is a great location for shooting films and TV series. It's consistently reliable year after year! I'm shocked that no one has made a movie here yet! This place is "perfect"!
K K — Google review
Lovely scenery, but activities can be limited if you are not doing tree surfing. We had a great picnic, blessed with beautiful weather, played with tube slide, hedge maze and lovely walk in the area. Nonetheless, there could have been more activities provided for families who are not doing tree surfing, especially at entrance ticket prices like these for a family which is quite steep. Overall, it was a good experience mainly due to the weather.
Ginelle L — Google review
We had an absolute ball at Enchanted Adventure on the Mornington Peninsula! The mazes were creative and fun to explore, and the tube slides were a highlight – fast, exciting and perfect for all ages. The gardens are beautifully kept, offering plenty of fresh air and a wonderful chance to enjoy nature at its best. It’s a fantastic day out for families or groups looking for something different. Do note that tree surfing and zip lines are only available on weekends, so plan accordingly. With so much to do and see, it’s easy to spend hours here. A truly memorable experience and one we’d happily return to again. Highly recommended for a fun and active outdoor adventure!
Warren O — Google review
Cute place to spend half a day. We went on a weekday in June and it was pretty deserted. We had the tube slides completely to ourselves for half an hour in the morning. The mazes and gardens were fun to walk through. We definitely took our sweet time, and it still only took an hour, so believe it when people say that this isn’t more than a half-day excursion. It was only with the Grand aerial obstacle course that we stretched it out to five hours at the park. The obstacle course was fun, though. Very well run, there are five paths to follow so no one path ever feels crowded or jammed. Each path ends with a zip line, with the fourth and fifth being the longest, and the fifth being the prettiest. You go at your own pace and as long as you finish before two hours, you can do the Tarzan swing and maybe the rock wall at the end. They’re pretty strict about the two hours even when the park is completely empty. We didn’t know about the two hour cut off, so they squeezed in the Tarzan swing for us anyway as we were right at the two hour mark.

Enchanted adventure is next to Arthur’s park nearby Rye. It was a good one. First i thought ticket fee(adult: $40, kid: $30) was expensive. Inside first part was simple playground.but i realized there were much more inside such as epic tube slide, the tree surfing and the Sky Scramble areas. Administration didnt say anything about these. It was a big fun anyway. You wont be upset. I am sure you will be happy to be there.
Dr. V — Google review
Lots to see and do. All the staff had a great attitude. The grounds are large and you will need lots of energy to do tree surfing and explore all the grounds. Hopefully the tube slides get a pulley system so we don't have to drag tubes up the hill. The new hedge maze needs to be a bit higher as I could see over the top.
Ash W — Google review
What an amazing time we had. The gardens were beautiful with autumn leaves. My kid loved running around the mazes, climbing up the tree houses and the slides. So many activities to keep them occupied. We spent about 3 hours there and my son didn't want to leave. The park is taken care of very well. Would definitely come back and also recommend parents to bring their kids here. Pack a little picnic!
Ranthini — Google review
Fantastic park which is so well maintained The gardens are beautiful and manicured, the activities are great for a good range of ages. We didn't do the tree climbing activities but the general admission included so many other activities. The skytree climbing frame is an excellent way for kids to explore and practice their climbing. Please note that the skytree climbing is limited for children under 135cm and strictly no adults are allowed on the structures. Really great day out and would love to come back for another visit

Arthurs Seat Eagle - Summit Station offers an exhilarating chairlift ride to the summit of Arthurs Seat, providing stunning views of the Mornington Peninsula. The gondola ride offers picturesque scenes of the state forest, and at the top, visitors can enjoy a cafe with nice amenities. While the hike up is moderately steep and not wheelchair-friendly, it's worth it for those seeking adventure. The surrounding area also offers various interesting activities for families to enjoy.
Tried the cable car ride and was pleasantly surprised, beautiful views of the bay from the summit to the base. We almost missed the kangaroos halfway down too, look out for them below you as they can be quite camouflaged. The summit has a cafe and gift shop with some parking. Toilets available. Free parking. Price guide (as of May 2025): Adult return $33 Child (4 to 16) return $21 Site prices (online price looks about $5 cheaper in total)

Great day trip from Melbourne. Public transport from Melbourne cbd will be approx 2.5 hrs each way near to the cable car base station, 20min walk from the bus stop at visitor centre. Cable car ride takes 15min each way, to the summit and back, views are exceptional on a clear day. There is a summit walk around the state park with a few lookout points. We could see the entire Mornington peninsula upto Melbourne cbd from the lookouts. There is a cafe, gift shop and toilets at the summit station.

What exceptional customer service! I was looked after by two lovely ladies today at Arthurs Seat Eagle - Eve and Wendy. I had issues with tickets from Red Balloon and the ladies were awesome with sorting that out for me. If you haven't been on Arthurs Seat Eagle then you need to come and check it out. It's a fabulous experience and the customer service is absolutely awesome Thanks Eve and Wendy. I'll be back soon!
Fred M — Google review
Beautiful views over the bay from the summit, cafe food is okay but a bit expensive. Looks like someone has finally bought the restaurant on the summit as I saw some workers in there. Hopefully it reopens soon.
Andrew F — Google review
As a first time visitor, this was incredible. I was still able to experience the history and the views while enjoying a beautiful sea breeze in my face, a gentle ride up and back, comfortable seats, and an incredible gift shop. I wish we could have done this at sunset, I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to view our picture and order it to be printed immediately at the top. The staff were friendly and professional, and we enjoyed our wine as we admired the views from the top. I can picture myself having a picnic lunch surrounded by gum trees and overlooking Mornington Peninsula next time I visit the bushland and taking a walk.
Robyn R — Google review
Great experience for a local location. The views are incredible, the staff are very professional, the ride is smooth. Food is usual take away, nuggets, chips, etc , $4.5 small coffee. The cars are open with no wind protection, if windy or cold, you need to dress up accordingly. Can get busy during peak hours but queues move at a decent pace.
Elias S — Google review
Excellent place to visit with family and kids. But you should bring your own food. Food is very expensive and coffee too. So much to do and see. Highly recommended Arthur's seat Eagles.
Rania A — Google review
Purchased tickets online, which was easy and secure with our tickets delivered directly to my email. Presented the barcode at the boarding zone, which was scanned and we were quickly shown our capsule. One great feature was no matter the size of your group, whether riding solo or with up to 7 others, you get the ride to yourselves. The ride was smooth and very quiet, leaving us to enjoy the surrounding views. Lots of photos opportunities on the 14 minute trip. It wasn't crowded but I still recommend buying the tickets online to "jump the que" on arrival. Staff at the summit and the base were all very friendly complimenting the experience. Highly recommend and it may have been my first, but won't be my last time on the Arthur's Seat Eagle chairlift.

Feeding, petting, learning. I have just as much fun as the kids. I held my daughters party here and chose the self catered party option which was wonderful. They were so friendly and accommodated our needs. From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU !!

This was the perfect weekend escape for our family of 4! We live such a busy life day to day and this was just the perfect escape. The fresh air, beautiful landscapes, amazing accommodation (the most amazing beds we have ever slept in!!!) and the staff felt like family. The kids rated it the best weekend away EVER!! We will be back a few times a year that’s for sure. Thank you so much for making the weekend everything we wanted and more

Nice little farm perfect for all ages. Entrance fee cost $20 for adult and $20 for kids above 18months old. Nice animal interactions throughout the whole farm. From holding rabbits, milking cow, pony rides, feeding ducks, horses and goats. Pig are also available for viewing, if you're lucky you may come across piglets too! Cafe on sites that serves hot food. Indoor and outdoor seatings are available. Playground on site. Good experience

What an awesome place to both visit and also have a birthday party at! The activities are fantastic under the birthday VIP package. We rode ponies, enjoyed a tractor ride around the farm, milked a cow, visited chickens, and pat bunnies. Every kid at the party had a go at something and everyone had a wonderful time. I was worried we’d rushed for time or run late…but the head farmer assigned to our party group helped keep things moving graciously on reasonable schedule. I definitely recommend for parties. I was able to decorate the marque space and was able to set something great up using the space! The venue had everything I needed with tables, chairs and tables along with table covers, plates, drinks and party food for the kids. There was a “bar” area which I was able to use to hold drinks in a built in sink and have a grazing table spread for adults. Food servings were generous for the kids and the food was delicious! I recommend touring the site to work out your decoration needs to add your own unique spin to the party space. Thoughtful touches like an A/c blowing cool air into the marquee was lovely. The team working the day were super kind, accommodating and helpful however they can. The animals had so much open space, fed super well and looked healthy and happy. You sensed they were at peace just enjoying life 🐄

Awesome place. Get the VIP tour if you want to make the most of your time. It is a 2 hour program with a farmer and includes a great set of activities for kids and a tractor ride. I can't recommend it enough.

We celebrated our son’s 5th birthday at animal land and it was awesome! They decorated the whole place up with party hats and plates and even gave out lollies to all the kids in a cute glass bottle. Sarah brought us around the farm. We get to milk the cows, sat in the tractor and the kids get to pick the eggs from the chicken coop and sat in the pony. We get to bring the eggs home after that. My son had a great time and we can see how happy the kids were patting all the animals in the animal nursery part. I received feedbacks that it is the best party ever. Thank you, animal land!

RAAF Museum

Museum
Military Museums
Located in Point Cook, just 25 minutes from Melbourne, the RAAF Museum is the original home base of the Australian Flying Corps. This museum offers a fascinating look into the history of Australian aviation and features vintage aircraft displays, including helicopters and various generations of fighters. Visitors can enjoy interactive flying displays on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, showcasing heritage aircraft such as the Tiger Moth and Mustang. The museum also offers guided tours for groups of six or more upon request.
For aviation lovers or anyone curious about Australia’s military past, the RAAF Museum at Point Cook is a must-visit. As the birthplace of the Royal Australian Air Force, this historic airfield sets the perfect stage for a museum that combines impressive aircraft, interactive exhibits, and a deep sense of legacy. Walking through the hangars, I was struck by how close you can get to the planes—ranging from early biplanes to modern jets. The displays are thoughtfully curated, blending technical detail with personal stories of those who served. There’s something quietly moving about standing beneath a WWII-era bomber or reading letters sent home from airmen in the field. It’s not just about machines; it’s about people, bravery, and innovation. One thing to note: the museum is not open all year round, and visits are only available on selected days with limited time slots. It’s essential to check the official website and book ahead—entry is free, but registration is required. I was lucky to catch one of the open days, and it’s absolutely worth planning around. The museum also runs regular flying displays (check the schedule), which bring the exhibits to life with real aircraft taking to the skies. Even without a show, the open-air setting and access to restricted RAAF history make this a unique experience you won’t find elsewhere in Australia. Whether you’re a lifelong avgeek, a history buff, or just looking for something different to do in Melbourne, the RAAF Museum offers an unforgettable deep dive into the stories that helped shape the skies over Australia.

A wonderful experience at the RAAF Museum in Point Cook! 💙 The exhibits are fascinating, and the volunteers are truly amazing so passionate, kind, and full of knowledge. Their stories brought history to life. Thank you for sharing it with such love and dedication! ✈️
Riya G — Google review
The staff and volunteers at the RAAF Museum are absolutely outstanding, friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They take the time to explain the details of the aircraft, objects, and historical events, making the whole visit both informative and engaging. Their passion for aviation and history really brings the museum to life. Entry is completely free, which is incredible considering the quality and depth of the exhibits. The museum itself is impressive, with around 10 to 15 aircraft on display and thousands of objects including uniforms, machine guns, missiles, aviation equipment and other things. The collection covers a huge timeline — from before World War I, through World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, East Timor, and even modern conflicts such as Afghanistan. Each section is beautifully presented, showing the evolution of the Royal Australian Air Force and its contribution to global history. The souvenir shop has really good prices. The volunteers make the experience even better with their enthusiasm and storytelling. A few practical tips: bring photo ID to enter, as it’s inside an active military base, and check the official website for updated opening hours before you go and book is mandatory. Parking is free and easy, and the site is well maintained and accessible. Even if you’re not a big aviation fan, this museum is an incredible way to learn more about Australia’s military history and see up-close the technology and courage that shaped it. It’s informative, emotional, and absolutely worth the trip. A true hidden gem in Melbourne’s west!
J.Patrick — Google review
This is a world class museum that does a great job of presenting the history of the RAAF. The museum starts with a gallery that highlights the force’s roles in war. Visitors then move through three large hangers containing historically important aircraft and further displays. The aircraft are well presented and many are the only examples of the type in Australia - some are the only survivors in the world. At 1 pm there was a well executed flying display featuring a CT4 trainer performing aerobatics. The pilot and volunteers gave interesting short talks about the history of the aircraft and the display. All the staff at the museum are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The main problem with the museum is that it’s not serviced by public transport, with the nearest bus stop being 20 minutes walk away. I got Ubers from the nearest train station which were about $20 each way. The hanger displaying recent jet fighters is also currently closed while OH&S issues are fixed - this was disappointing. There are also some quirks to visiting. As the museum is on an active RAAF base, visitors need to register online by 8 am on day they visit and bring photo ID. There are also not any food or drink options. The museum website explains these any other issues.

They are only open on Sundays and Thursdays and advanced booking is a must. Please carry a photo ID for entry. Well managed by the team. Great insight in to the history of RAAF.

Interesting museum, this is on an active air base so tickets must be bought 24hrs in advance. Great selection of aircraft and a great history of the site and the RAAF told through the exhibits.

They've done a very nice work. Perfect for adults to visit and kids too. Make sure you're booking it before you go on their 2 allocated visiting days.

Forest Glade Gardens

Garden
Nature & Parks
Nestled in the Macedon Ranges, Forest Glade Gardens is a picturesque and diverse garden featuring English, Italian, and Japanese influences. The lush grounds are adorned with rare plants, water features, and sculptures. Visitors can explore various themed garden rooms and enjoy the serene woodland area and fern gully. While there are hills and steps throughout the gardens, it's a lovely spot for a leisurely stroll or a romantic outing.
A beautiful private garden. Lots of area to explore, but you could comfortably see the majority of the gardens in 1.5hrs. Certain back areas are steep, the small children (under 6yo) walking these did not seem to have a good time. Gardens are lovely for a picnic. Limited parking close by, there is a free shuttle from the town close by, but it is only a 15-20min walk for those who are keen.

I went to Forest Glade Garden in the fall, saw beautiful autumn trees and many different types of trees with brilliant colours, the fresh air was magical, the diverse themed gardens, the sculptures and natural beauty, walking around the beautiful garden with many colors was wonderful. The colourful Japanese maple trees and many works of art created a charming beauty for the garden. When I came here, I spent a few hours walking around to explore, here each different season the area will have different beauty, especially the autumn with full of colours. Highly recommended 😊

Beautiful gardens to stroll, live all the different areas, especially fern gully, lots of steps but so worth it. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Be aware there is nothing to buy there but you can take your own.

A wonderful destination for a family outing. The gardens are beautifully maintained and vibrant in September. A perfect spot to enjoy nature and take a peaceful stroll. It’s a paid entry $15 for Adults and free for kids

Beautiful beautifulllll place. Could easily spend hours here during spring. Requires a lot of walking - sometimes up and down hill but definitely worth it
Priya T — Google review
This garden is exceptional and all the parts are worth visiting, especially the fern gully, if you can make it down all the stairs! It is a great and relaxing view. The garden is filled with beautiful plants and flowers. The garden everyday is worth the visit no matter the season except when it’s raining, if it is though the staff are more than happy to give you an umbrella. I want to give a shoutout to Robert he was very nice and gave us some great stories about the gardens. The staff also do a fabulous job with keeping the gardens in order. The only comment I have is that more signage might be needed in the fern gully as we were close to getting lost many times though overall exceptional gardens and service.
Owen W — Google review
The garden itself was alright, but the experience was completely ruined by the staff especially the older lady at the front ticket office (visit date 26/9/25). From the moment we arrived, she was unwelcoming and spoke to us in a very rude and condescending manner. Instead of greeting us politely, she demanded that we stand there and read every single word on the notice board, almost like she was lecturing us. What was even more disappointing was that she didn’t treat other (white) visitors the same way, which made us feel like we were being singled out because of our skin colour. She took away my 3 year old’s small ball, saying no equipment was allowed not even a soft ball or a flying saucer (like a frisbee plate). My child was upset but handed it over politely. To make it worse, as soon as we entered, we saw other children playing with balls and flying saucers freely. We recorded videos as evidence showing that other kids were allowed to play inside while our child was restricted (screen shots from the video are attached for reference). When I showed the evidence to the old rude lady at the front, her response was, “OH, I DIDN’T KNOW I DIDN’T MEAN TO DISCRIMINATE”. The fact that she said the word “DISCRIMINATION” herself says a lot. Beyond that, toilets were poorly maintained the smell was unbearable. No proper parking, expect a long walk, which is especially difficult with little kids. The map provided is completely confusing and useless we had no idea where anything was, and other visitors looked lost as well. Proper signage or name tags near sculptures or garden areas would be much more helpful. This place really needs friendlier and more professional staff, especially at the front entrance. A beautiful garden means nothing if visitors are made to feel unwelcome or treated unfairly.
Madzy B — Google review
Forest Glade Gardens is an awesome experience! There is so much to look at and see. We went to 2 gardens on the day and this was by far the best of the 2. Spent almost 3 hours at Forest Glade compared to just over 30 minutes at the other place we visited on the same day. Be prepared to do some hill walking if you want to see it all though. It was very busy, however it wasn't crowded and most parts of the garden were very accessible despite the crowd. The only downside is that there are not enough toilets and I think this could be improved on. But overall well worth the visit! Totally enjoyable!

Experience the charm of the Gisborne Olde Time Market, a delightful showcase of local creativity and produce. Held on the first Sunday of every month, this market offers an array of goods including local crafts, plants, wood carvings, home decor, and delicious food options like giant spring rolls and macaroons. It's a perfect opportunity to explore the beauty, history, and culture of the Macedon Ranges while enjoying a day filled with shopping and tasty treats.
One of our favourite Sunday markets. Always buzzing with people, great selection of stall holders, a great way to start the morning, especially on a cold day with a warm coffee, egg and bacon roll, and some baked sweets.

The market wasn’t as big as I expected—managed to see all the stalls in about 15 minutes. One thing I found unusual was the signage saying no dogs allowed, yet there were dogs everywhere. Bit confusing, but overall a quick browse if you’re in the area.

The market is a great place to find a variety of delicious foods. In particular, the curry puffs and pork crackle from one of the market stalls are highly recommended. I encourage you to visit the market and try these delectable treats for yourself.

One of six weekend farmers markets in Macedon Ranges. Gisborne Market is opened on 1st Sunday monthly. Local produce, crafts, plants, exotic wood carving, home & garden decors, some food & cafe vans including pancake on site. We noticed a knife sharpener service van too. A nice weather day certainly makes everything a lot better. Families, friends enjoy looking, shopping, laughing...❤

I have been going to this market for a very long time. The best chicken curry puffs (highly recommended), best bacon n egg roll (close to toilet/footy field entrance), and I buy my eggs from Phil's Conifers. The market has become more expensive over the years; and pay attention to where you park. Always lovely to visit Gisborne and see the beautiful birds, pine cone and chestnut trees.

We enjoyed the stall and variety of items. Baths available and plenty of places to stop and enjoy a drink or a snack. Worth stopping by again!

The winery is known for its pet-friendly environment, even featuring a Pet of the Week on their social media.
We had a lovely lunch at Gisborne Peak. The menu was minimal, but the shared platter was yummy, and woodfire pizza was delicious as well. Friendly staff and great customer service. Indoor and outdoor seating available overlooking the lake. A variety of wines to purchase and have with your meals. Wine tasting at the cellar door available to purchase . Accommodation also available on site.

Gisborne Peak (Winery) Is not a Winery no Wine is produced on the premises The grapes are sent to Hanging Rock Winery and the wine is bottled there. This so called Winery is in a residential area and infringes on the people that live in the area It has been closed for nearly a year. With renovations and building done without council approval. It is an eye sore with the nets from last season's crop laying on the ground between the vines. The place should be closed permanently.

Hi Team Tony & myself would be more than happy to write a review about how thrilled we were with our 38th wedding anniversary vacation at your facility. The cleanliness of our accommodation was impeccable & with all the comforts one would need for an enjoyable holiday. The peacefulness of our surroundings made our stay very relaxing & enjoyable away from the usual hustle & bustle of our everyday lives. We enjoyed a scrumptious meal in your restaurant & the service from your hospitality staff, in particular a lady called Lynn was first class. Lynn was extremely friendly & took the time needed to explain both our menu options & how we could redeem our Red Balloon voucher for our meal & various items in your gift shop. Tony & myself do travel quite extensively & would not hesitate to recommend your facility to our friends & family & the wider community via the below mentioned platforms. Although this was our first time staying at your facility it will most certainly not be our last. Congratulations on managing such a wonderful facility that deserves all of the accolades & awards received to date & beyond.

We had the pleasure of staying at Gisborne Peak Winery and were greeted by very lovely smiles and service given by Linny and Lynn in the restaurant. They went above and beyond to let us know of local experiences, things to do and places to visit. The food was also very delicious and well priced. We were soon given our keys to the accommodation, which was set up very average at most. There were a few things that need revamping and work, but we did enjoy our short and sweet stay and didn’t let us bother us too much. We would definitely be back for the restaurant!

We went for Sunday lunch and reserved a table over the web. The cafe is situated in lovely area and quaintly decorated. We Ordered the large grazing platter and a wood fried pizza to share. The food was delicious, the Turkish bread and the pizza were really yummy. Food price was on the high side though. The pizza was small but priced at $22. The coffee was good. The staff were friendly and served with a smile. Onsite unisex toilets. Plenty of parking. No split bills. There are cottages to rent on site as well.

Randomly chose this place with my husband on a day trip to Gisborne with 2 family members from England and New Zealand. We chose the large sharing platter and a bottle of wine recommended by our hostess Lynn. The food and wine did not disappoint. The atmosphere was warm and inviting even though cold outside. The service from Lynn was exceptional. We plan to visit again with more family to enjoy. Thank you Lynn for your service with a smile.

The Victoria State Rose Garden is a serene and picturesque destination featuring over 5,000 roses of various species. This garden has received international acclaim and is meticulously cared for by dedicated volunteers. The layout of the garden resembles a five-petaled Tudor rose, with flourishing floribunda roses and modern hybrid tea beds. Visitors can stroll along walking paths, relax on benches, or even enjoy a picnic amidst the stunning floral displays.
🌹 A Stunning Hidden Gem in Werribee – A Must-Visit! 🌹 The Victoria State Rose Garden is an absolute paradise for nature lovers, flower enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a serene escape. Located within the Werribee Park precinct, this beautifully maintained garden is a true masterpiece showcasing thousands of vibrant roses in full bloom. Whether you're a photography enthusiast, a romantic at heart, or simply someone who enjoys a peaceful walk surrounded by breathtaking floral beauty, this place will not disappoint. What Makes This Place Special? ✅ Immaculately Maintained Gardens – The dedication of volunteers and staff is evident in every corner. The rose beds are meticulously arranged, and the variety of roses, from heritage to modern hybrid species, is simply mesmerizing. The fragrance that fills the air is something you have to experience firsthand. ✅ Stunning Layout & Design – The garden is uniquely shaped like a Tudor Rose, with beautifully arranged sections that allow visitors to admire different varieties. The walkways are well-planned, making it easy to explore every part of the garden. ✅ Perfect for All Ages – Whether you’re bringing children, elderly family members, or just visiting solo, the garden provides a calm and relaxing atmosphere. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery, making it a great spot for a picnic. ✅ Great for Photography & Events – If you love taking pictures, you’ll be in heaven! Every angle offers a perfect shot, whether it’s a close-up of a dew-kissed rose or a wide landscape of colorful blooms. It’s also an ideal setting for weddings, proposals, or even just a peaceful afternoon stroll. ✅ Free Entry! – Unlike many botanical gardens, entry is completely free, making this one of the best budget-friendly attractions in Victoria. Areas for Improvement: 🔸 Parking & Entrance Driveway – While the garden itself is absolutely stunning, the parking area and entrance could use some improvements. The driveway leading in is a bit rough, and during peak times, finding a parking spot can be challenging. Hopefully, some enhancements will be made to accommodate more visitors comfortably. Final Thoughts: This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and well-kept gardens in Victoria, and a must-visit if you're in Werribee or the surrounding areas. Whether you visit in spring for peak bloom or summer for a colorful spectacle, it’s always a joy to experience. Highly recommended! 🌹💖

Nestled just a short drive from Melbourne's bustling CBD, the Werribee Open Range Zoo is a delightful family-friendly destination that transports visitors to the heart of Africa. Spanning over 225 hectares, this unique zoo offers an incredible opportunity to observe iconic African wildlife in their naturalistic habitats. From majestic giraffes and playful zebras to powerful lions and gentle elephants, every corner of the zoo is filled with fascinating creatures.
We absolutely love visiting Werribee Open Range Zoo! There are so many amazing animals to see, and it’s always such a fun and exciting day out for the whole family. My favourite part is definitely the safari bus tour — it’s such a unique experience that takes you around the open range area to see animals up close, just like you’re on a real African safari. Meya (Not sure if i spelt her name correctly but) did a fantastic job driving us around and explaining everything so clearly. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable — kudos to her! It was also really exciting when we got stuck behind Harold the giraffe for a little while — he decided to stand right in the way and wouldn’t move! We all had a good laugh and got an even closer look at him. Moments like that make the tour so memorable. They’ve also just opened the new Elephant Trail, and it’s absolutely incredible! It’s a huge, 21-hectare, state-of-the-art space that gives the elephants so much room to roam. The design is beautiful and really well thought out — you can tell a lot of care has gone into making it a great environment for the animals We love going there, and the kids do too! It’s always a fantastic day full of adventure, learning, and fun. Highly recommend a visit! 🐘🦒🦓

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely the Best Zoo I’ve Ever Been To! Werribee Open Range Zoo is truly magical! From the friendly and welcoming staff to the spacious animal enclosures and spotless grounds, everything about this place is exceptional. The new state-of-the-art elephant enclosure is incredible — it’s even larger than all of Melbourne Zoo put together and that’s just one section of the park! We did the Giraffe Animal Experience, which turned out to be so much more than just a tour. We hopped on one of the safari buses and were taken right into the open plains, surrounded by incredible animals roaming freely — seeing the rhino family up close was an unforgettable highlight. The behind-the-scenes giraffe experience was amazing too. We got to feed the giraffes, explore their enclosure, and learn so much about them. Our guide, JESSE was absolutely fantastic! His passion for the animals, knowledge, and fun personality made the whole experience come alive. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and it made our visit extra special. My husband and I were lucky it was raining so it was just us 2 on the tour . The zoo’s wide-open spaces make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Africa — it’s breathtaking how much room the animals have to roam. If you’re visiting the Melbourne area, Werribee Zoo is an absolute must-see. It was the highlight of our trip, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Had a wonderful time at Werribee Open Range Zoo! The safari-style setup makes it feel like a real African adventure. The animals looked healthy and relaxed, especially the hippos by the water. So good to see how great this place has grown and improved over the years. Paid $55 for the entrance ticket and an additional $60 for the Deluxe Safari, totally worth it! The deluxe safari gets you much closer to the animals, and the guide gives detailed explanations along the way. They stop for photos too, which is nice. We accidentally walked past the deluxe tour waiting point (it’s just next to the normal safari area along the elephant trail 😂), so just note, the normal safari cars are giraffe-painted, while the private/deluxe ones are zebra-painted. Easier to spot! Our guide, Daniel, was awesome, super knowledgeable and engaging. He even showed us animal items like fur, horns, and skeletons, which made it extra interesting. The small group size also meant he could spend more time explaining things to everyone. The only downside is the limited range of animals on the safari itself, mainly rhinos, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and camels roaming freely. You’ll also see bisons, Mongolian horses, and (I think) gazelles from a distance behind fences. Would’ve been nice to see elephants or hippos too, but it makes sense since the vehicles aren’t caged like in other safaris around the world. That said, you can still see elephants, lions, and more by walking around the zoo afterwards, so it’s not a dealbreaker. Another plus, the zoo has a baby feeding and diaper changing room, super clean and even has toys to keep toddlers occupied while you clean up. Overall, a great experience! Would definitely recommend the deluxe safari for a more personal and educational tour. 🦒🦏🦓

Loved it. Gorgeous surrounds. Fabulous sculptures and murals. Lots of activities for the kids. Beautiful native flowers. Fairywrens galore & of course the wild animals. Sad to hear Kalinda the Cheetah had passed, as had their wild dogs but the elephants are thriving in their new enclosure.

The open Zoo is awesome. I went on a school holiday so free for the kids. That was wonderful. No words to explain. We have two safari one is free with the entry ticket and the premium costs dollar fifty each. Our van went very near to the animals while the free safari was near too but goes only on road. Don’t wait to visit the zoo. I am delighted to post the naughty lions of the zoo.

Searoad Ferries provides a picturesque route to Sorrento with multiple daily crossings from Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula. The 40-minute journey offers stunning views of Port Phillip Bay. The reservation and ticketing process is seamless, with professional and friendly service staff. Onboard services are excellent, including clean seating areas and a cafe serving various snacks and beverages. Passengers can enjoy the sunrise during the early morning ferry ride or spot dolphins in the bay if lucky.
A very laid back, and yet incredibly professional operation, this is definitely the quickest and easiest way to get from Sorrento to Queenscliffe, and lets face it, its about a four hour drive if you go around the bay. Ships are easy to board whether on foot or with a car, and there are nice facilities on board as well, with a small cafe that also serves alcohol, so you can enjoy a glass of something whilst you cruise across. Some great views of the properties in Portsea as well.

Booking was simple and quick. Customer Service from first lass at Sorrento greeting us through to the return trip, was amazingly brilliant. Everyone was friendly and very helpful to any passenger that required extra support. Coffee was lovely, the crossing was good and a lot of choices on where to sit. Highly recommend the ferry, fantastic way to relax instead of sitting in traffic from the Peninsula to Queenscliff. I was a foot passenger, parked my car up on the hill for all day parking. Took the 8am sailing from Sorrento and returned on the 5pm from Queenscliff.

A neat & tidy, comfortable and quick way to cross Port Phillip Bay... from Sorrento to Queenscliff (or vice-versa). Easy to board and disembark... on foot, or with a vehicle... and with food, drinks and gifts available on board.

Took the ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento for the first time, bringing our car along, and it was such a smooth and enjoyable experience! The cabin was clean and comfortable, and there was even a little café onboard. I wasn’t expecting much, but the almond croissant was absolutely delicious — seriously one of the best I’ve had, and only $5! The trip went by so quickly, just chatting and taking photos. Searoad Ferry - The Queen of The Ocean. Where do I begin.. I don't consider myself a particularly wealthy man, this was apparent when I first observed the customers on board. The ship seemed to be seperated, the fancy rich customers had there nose turned up towards us more middle / lower class. However I would be one lady from wealth, she is beautiful and elegant and I truly questioned why she would entertain a street rat such as myself. We first would share a few libations together and an elegant meal with the rest of the high-end customers. Afterwards we would attend the lower class area to which we then Irish danced together laughing and having the time of our lives. We then would sneak to the bow of the ship, I will never forget how I held her by her luscious hips, her arms fully extended out on the bow of the ship, as I thought "I'm king of the World". To finish off this truly amazing voyage, we snack back to the hold of the vessel, where we would share a night full of passion and romance. I would draw this stunning lady like one of my french girls before we would sneak into the back seat of a car to become.... Ummmm better acquainted. And now we are here, the vessel is getting close to our destination. It is extremely cold on the ship right now and I believe I see an ice berg in the distance. This would normally have me in a panic, however the staff are all extremely professional and they call this ship "The Unsinkable", I'm sure there's nothing to be worried about. All I can think about right now is when we finally land will I go back to my everyday life, or will I live a new life of magic and wonder with this women who I consider the love of my life. Whatever happens all I know is I will never let go Rose. Sincerely yours, Jack

The park features lovely trails that lead to red cliffs and offer sightings of wallabies and lizards. Visitors can also explore the heritage buildings at Werribee Mansion. Dog owners will appreciate that dogs are welcome in the area.
Once we worked out how to get there (Google was getting to take us all different ways that we knew we couldn't go). We finally went via Werribee Park Mansion. A decent walk across the river then down a road to a track which winds back to viewing points of the cliffs on K Road. Absolutely stunning

Car par is open and you need to leave before 5pm. Pot holes on the way to car park. Signage available for car park direction. Car park is flat. No bathroom available. Park your car here and do the walk towards werribee river.

Yes. I found the community park land and sports facilities adjacent to the Bungie's water hole on the Werribee River, which would be a great place to swim on a very hot day ... But they have No Swimming signs posted on the waters edge, so maybe there are crocodiles or piranha or sumting .... But it's a lovely spot.

Lovely river walk where dogs are welcome. No shade but easy path, nice views. Note, the road to the car park is full of large potholes and requires a lot of manoeuvring to avoid. Not unsafe but not everyone would enjoy this road.

Shahid M — Google review
The Werribee River Park track that joins from the Federation Trail is a dead end as the bridge over the river to the Mansion is closed and has been for 2 years following a flood event. Come on PV, get it fixed please. Posted October 2022 People who may be planning visits to the Werribee Regional Park should be aware of some access restrictions between now and the end of the year. Recent flooding has caused structural damage to the footbridge over the Werribee River, and the bridge is closed indefinitely. Update from Parks Victoria Best we can hope for is Spring 2025 "The proposed repair works to the structure and stream embankment are significant. Repair works need careful planning and design with many site and environmental factors being considered. Flora and fauna, and hydrological assessments have been undertaken. These have provided information required to schedule the repair works, which must occur at a certain time of year. This will minimise the impact on flora and fauna in the area surrounding the bridge and consider expected water levels in the river. An ideal timeframe has been determined and works are expected to take place in Q1 FY 25/26."

This should be better signed so more know about this beautiful place. Lovely trails to walk along and view the red cliffs or to walk along the river trails and see wallabies, lizards etc. Of course it is a lovely way to walk into the Werribee Mansion too.

📍 Good historical location. You can’t drive your private vehicle all the way to Point Nepean — parking is available only at the entrance. From there, you’ll need to take the shuttle service, which requires a paid return ticket purchased at the start. Note that the shuttle doesn’t operate all the time, so check the schedule beforehand. Alternatively, you can walk barefoot (or in comfortable shoes) for around 4–5 km. Plan at least 2 hours to fully enjoy the surroundings and the historic atmosphere.

The day was rainy with thunder and lightning, peaceful and the solitude I craved. Great walking tracks, asphalt the whole way. The up keep of the fort is good, an historic part of our past. Pack a picnic to share at the Quarantine Station, magnificence buildings.

Great history! Lovely walk around the grounds of the quarantine station at Point Nepean. I advise you to watch a short video about the quarantine station before your walk. Very interesting. There is a lovely little coffee van there on site, too.

Lots of fascinating points of interest along a spectacular scenic coastline. The old gun placements were great to walk around and you really felt in the moment walking through the tunnels under the point. The sites were well signposted with plenty of information detailing the point of interest. Great bus service to get you to the point without having to make the 3 km hike over some very steep hills.

Absolutely stunning. A beautiful place to walk, grab a bite to eat or if you have a boat licence, grab a boat and sail away..unfortunately that isn't me. Queenscliff has a lot to offer and its a beautiful town. I'd highly recommend visiting this place.

I loved this place. I also saw fish in the water whilst walking along the pier (if sorts lol) I went on a few different days. My ONLY COMPLAINT was the pure enjoyment I had being robbed sneakily by the local seagulls lol. I still laugh to myself every time I think about the seagulls flying off with tray of potato cakes and chips literally (couple come to annoy me from the left and as soon as I gave them attention the seagulls came/flew from the right and picked up what I thought was a heavy tray that I was eating from on the waters edge). I rate here 10 out of 10 and won't be trusting the local wildlife 😂

The Blues Train in Queenscliff, Victoria, offers a unique and enjoyable entertainment and dining experience. Running from August to May, this steam train provides a mini-festival atmosphere with live blues music and themed dining. Guests can enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience of dining aboard a moving train while being entertained by blues musicians. The food served on board is also musically themed, adding to the overall experience.
What a fun and unique experience! Amazing organization by the Blues Train team. The dinner was delicious. The musicians were top notch. It was fun moving from car to car at each stop to see the next performance. Room to dance or sit and enjoy the music. An absolutely energy charged environment. Great to share with friends and family. We highly recommend and will be heading back ourselves. Books out quickly!!

5/4/25 We had an absolutely fantastic night on the Blues Train! We had had to wait for 5 years for the experience as we had previously booked in 2020..... Anyway, finally we managed to get 7 of us together and it was fabulous! We started with the meal. I feel the directions could have been clearer, but there was enough food when I got there (larger men in our party would have preferred seconds/larger portions). The meal was tasty. We had beef, chicken, carrots, mashed potato, salad, a bread roll, and coleslaw. Dessert (lemon tart) was too sweet and the only option, which was disappointing. The music in each carriage was great. My order of favourites would be B, A, D, C but others in our group had different favourites. Something for everyone. Anna Scionti amazed us all with her cigar box guitar skills 👌 👏 🎸 It would have been nice to know about the drink package options beforehand, to have been able to choose ahead rather than work it out in the queue, but we managed! We're so glad the Blues Train survived after 2020! P.S. nice to have security in each carriage, especially when a few people got a bit tipsy! There wasn't any trouble, just merriment, but nice to have their presence for 'just in case'!

My friend and I flew from Newcastle to share the adventures of the Blues Train.. We had the most amazing time.. The staff were super friendly, the Blues artists were fun and entertaining and the added experience of the train was awesome. I havn't stopped smiling.. Highly recommend 🌞

We did the lunch show & we can’t wait to go again. The train ride was amazing, the musicians were very talented & played a variety of blues. The buffet food was very tasty and nearly all options were gluten free. The catering staff and the train staff were so friendly & helpful, even on a 35.deg day. Make sure you book accommodation early, took us a while to find something.

Had such a great time. I loved the cross section and varied music even though it was all blues. The carriages are not over crowded ( the perfect amount ) I would recommend this to anyone who has a love of music especially Blues
HelenR — Google review
Had an absolute blast. The music was great , the atmosphere was amazing and we had a great time. I do think there need to be better food options though. The snack box was tasty but not really adequate for the length of time on the train , the free flowing drinks and as the event starts so early it makes it difficult to eat dinner beforehand. Incorporating some kind of hot food e.g sliders, pies etc at the halfway point (Drysdale) would make it an even better experience. Thanks Blues Train for responding. I do believe that you need to look at recent reviews and take the comments re the food "On Board". It is not easy to eat dinner that early and most of the recent reviews that I have read have mentioned the inadequacy of the food. I think you need to meet the expectations of your clients and provide better food options. If you did it would elevate the experience from 4 Star to 5 Star.
Lynn D — Google review
The experience of traveling the train and entertainment was fantastic. How ever … I am so glad I had a late lunch as the food provided was revolting and un eatable. Given a grazing box with warm cheese & dip. Deli meat was off, it went in the bin. Drinks limited only providing one per stop. Where as there website reflected only allowed three at a time . But would only give you one drink ! Very disappointed with food and drink provided.
Wrxjase75 — Google review
Boy, did this give me the blues. I went on this ten years ago and it was amazing — but the change in structure has turned it into an absolute mess. At each stop, you’re only allowed to get a drink for yourself — no one else in your group — and there are only four people physically serving the entire train. Everyone in your group has to queue for their own drink, including any elderly parents you’ve brought along. This also means you have to choose between going to the toilet, queuing for a drink, or queuing to save a seat on the carriage. You can’t do all three, and either way, you’ll spend the entire 30-minute stop in a queue. There are a maximum of four toilets per stop serving the entire train. No one explained the drinks rules in advance or how we would move between carriages, so everyone was confused and frustrated right from the start. Calling it a shambles doesn’t do it justice. We missed out on drinks, people were peeing in the bushes, and we couldn’t sit with our group on the carriage because there’s no structure to the seating arrangements. The staff were rude — I actually had to have a word with one of them after they referred to me as “that woman” for being in the way. The whole process completely undermined what would otherwise be a great musical experience. What a shame — this used to be brilliant.

Fort Queenscliff is a restored 19th-century fortification that houses military artifacts and interpretive history exhibits. The site holds historical significance, with cottages built in the mid-1800s and occupied by pilots, health officers, and police. The duplex at Nos. 60-62 represents a rare building type and style combination in Victoria, showcasing domestic Gothic and row house construction.
Brilliant way to spend a couple of hours. Our tour guide Carole was interesting and knowledgeable explaining when the fort was built, why and how. Interesting to learn that part of the main high street is now inside the walls of the fort’s defence system. Loads of memorabilia, lots of information available on the tour and finishes in the museum with more information given by army personnel Helen in this case, who again was very interesting and knowledgeable about the history of the fort. Well worth a visit.

Thank you ladies for a wonderful experience. Chantelle, Rhonda and Clients.

Very interesting place, our tour guide was both informative and funny telling us facts regarding the fort and some funny things that have taken place there. Please be advised there are NO public toilets available inside the fort, there are however toilets available just outside. Apart from this I would highly recommend this place for a visit.

The views were brilliant even on an overcast day. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. My four year old boy enjoyed seeing all the buildings and guns. I recently visited Naturipe Fruits at Bacchus Marsh Cherry Farm, and it was a delightful experience. This charming farm offers an immersive fruit picking adventure that is perfect for families, or anyone looking to enjoy a day in nature. Upon arrival, the farm's friendly staff welcomed us warmly and provided us with everything we needed for a successful peaches and nectarines picking journey. The instructions were clear, and they provided us with bags to collect our fruits. The orchards are beautifully maintained. Walking through the rows of trees, we enjoyed the serene atmosphere and the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. In addition the, the farm has a lovely farm shop offering a variety of local produce and products. We couldn’t resist picking up honey to take home. The entry was free and price was $4 per kg. Overall, Naturipe Fruits at Bacchus Marsh Cherry Farm offers a delightful day out. The combination of fresh fruits, picturesque surroundings, and friendly service makes this farm a standout destination. I highly recommend a visit.

Experience fresh fruit picking and eating on the spot. Sour or Sweet, you taste it yourself before putting into your box. There are ladders provided for those that wanted to get the best fruits from the top. Variety of cherries to pick but no strawberry on this cherry farm during my visit on 23 Dec 2024, but you just need to drive down to the nearest farm (Left from this exit) and you will be able to park at the Naturipe Strawberry farm, where you just need to make an entry fee and comes with a box of strawberries.
Ng P — Google review
We visited on 19 April 2025, day after Good Friday. Fuji apples and granny smith apples were available for picking from 9am-1pm but the farm may close earlier if there are too many visitors. No entry fee, but you are charged $4/kg you bring out of the farm. There were plenty of trees with abundant granny smith apples, but it seems like most of the good fuji apples had already been picked. The good ones that were left were hidden away or slightly out of reach, but the farm provides stepladders which you can climb up to get to the apples that were higher up. We were still able to pick quite a few fuji apples. Though they were smaller and not as uniformly red as ideal, we tasted them back home and they were fresh, crunchy, and still sweet. They also sell yellow gum and red gum honey, some homemade jams, and strawberries too.

This is a late review, but I was here almost two years ago with by family who came from overseas to travel Australia. They really enjoyed visiting this place and we were able to pick strawberries, nectarines and cherries. The produce was fresh and the prices were very cheap compared to other fruit picking places near by. I thought I’d return and leave a review as my family still remembers how fun and interesting it was😊
Anuki F — Google review
Went cherry picking here today on our way back from Daylesford. Free entry and was $15kg for freshly picked cherries. The trees are full at the back with cherries but at the front they were dried up. But the rest were ready to be picked and had the sour ones too.
Sue — Google review
Very good place to visit during the cherry picking season, good place for family. Make sure get some water bottles from entrance or keep some alongside as you might have to walk through the farm quite some distance, there’s Sweet, Sour and white cherries at same time but get ready to put some steps down. Also they have apple and strawberries pickings but during some other season. You can get a container at the entrance to gather fruits and pay during exit. There portable toilets next to the entrance area. Good place overall, I recommend
Mishad M — Google review
Happy with the trip to Naturipe Fruits for apple 🍎 picking. The apples were fresh, crunchy, juicy, wax-free, a bit sweet & sour, though we went there in late April, the end of apple season. No entry fee was required, just need to pay for the apples you picked at $4 per kg. That's a really reasonable price. It's worth a visit. Just one hour drive from the Melbourne city, recommended this farm.

I keep going here quiet often, specially when the weather is beeautifull. Lots of fruits and varieties as per the season. If you were to use the toilets, there are 3 portable toilets but not clean at all. So be prepared before you go.

Werribee Gorge State Park (Parks Victoria)

State park
Nature & Parks
Nature area drawing daytrippers with hiking paths, climbing terrain, picnic spots & swimming holes.
One of the few parks in the western side with some good grade 3 walking treks. Some walks are moderate to steep in height but not that difficult. Nice views and mix of scenery. The long trek takes roughly around 3hrs. It's has a beach at one part of the river which can be used for swimming or a dip. There are few tables in the picnic area, and it has drop toilet but not sure how it is.

So so so beautiful. One of my favourite hikes I’ve been on since I started hiking. The weather was amazing. The hike was relatively challenging, with a few rocky bits, but was very much worth it.
Susu — Google review
It’s one of the most beautiful places to visit in Victoria, perfect for any sunny day, whether in summer or winter. Some sections can be challenging, with slippery rocks and small areas where you need to lean on the rocks and hold a rope, so it’s not suitable for everyone—especially young children or the elderly. Definitely worth visiting, and I’d happily go again.
Jo — Google review
Beautiful walk through the Werribee gorge. The weather was on our side! Great challenges, and amazing views and scenery throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed the river walk and the beach area was excellent for a lunch stop. Highly recommend to take your time and enjoy this little bit of nature.
Colin S — Google review
It was a very interesting trail comprises of walk by the beautiful stream, narrow cliff side walk, crossing huge rocks with rope support, uphill and downhill, beaches to swim. We in our 60s took approximately 4hrs to complete the Waribee Curcuit with stops for photo-taking.. we all had enjoyed the trail. Yes the anticlockwise could be a better direction to have the cliff narrow path and crossing the big rocks with rope support at the end of the trail..Strongly recommended.
Kelly T — Google review
I've walked both the short circuit and long and neither are overly difficult hikes. There are a couple of long steeper sections on both trails but nothing that will kill you. Slow and steady. Signage is ok. Could be better. But trail is pretty easy to identify without the signs. Although id still recommend having a digital or paper map with you as a backup. Not an overly scenic trail though. The nicest part is to the south along the creek. The majority of the trail is though the middle of the bush so not many lookouts along the way. Parking and toilet provisions are good. 3.5 stars because of the lack of scenery and the noise from the freeway on the northern end is a bit of a downer.
Anisa R — Google review
A fantastic place. Even on a grey, rainy day! Lots of options for trails too for different levels of trekkers. Easy or hard as you like. The low track runs along the creek (where we took a freezing but liberating dip) with a section you can climb across, which was good fun. We didn’t spot any koalas but apparently it’s known for a lot of sightings. Tip: park in bottom car park so you don’t finish your trek and have to walk uphill to get to your car!
Rosanne S — Google review
amazing trail, lots of different walking options for different fitness levels and the picnic areas and nicely sectioned away from the trail. giving minus one star because the lookout point circuit is a little confusing. If you make it to the top, be mindful of signs.

Beautiful, well kept botanical gardens with lots of small paths and areas to sneak off to and see the beautiful birds and butterflies that are attracted to the area. I would advise picking up the map so you can check out the special plants that are there - I can't remember exactly, but there's a good number of heritage listed trees that are worth seeing just because you may find it hard to see them elsewhere! A giant redwood (Sequoia) is one of the areas, which is definitely worth seeing as well as a plant that looks like it's being chained to the ground - I don't remember what it's called but it looks impressive and I've definitely never seen one before! A bonus is that entrance is free and there is a small outdoor cafe that I assume is open seasonally (?) - sadly it wasn't open when I was visiting. It also wasn't crowded when I visited, which made the experience even more enjoyable. With its location so close to the waterfront, it's worth visiting if you're in the area to take a break or just to see the butterflies!

First visit to this botanical garden. It is a compact but full of variety of flora in this garden. Most of plants, flowers and shrubs cam be found here. However, as i m not a botanist, i may be wrong. Surely, it is dilligently arranged based by climatic zone. It also has temperature controlled room for tropical one. Tho, it has less green area to sit down and picnic inside the garden but outside, it has plenty room. 2 car parks on the side of enterance door. Surely it is recommended for anyone including for relaxation and learning even just jogging.

🌳 Fantastic Family Park & Coastal Pool Opening Soon! Visited this lovely park in Geelong today during our holiday, and it was a great time despite the chill. The well‑equipped play area kept the kids entertained, with plenty of open grass, picnic and BBQ facilities, and clean amenities. The views of Corio Bay were simply stunning—perfect backdrop for family photos and sandy play. We were delighted to learn that the children’s sea pool at Eastern Beach—just by the park—is set to reopen from 1 November through to April. The shallow wading area, with its diving tower, springboards and fountains, is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer season . That gives us another seaside treat later this year! Highlights: Great for kids: Playground zones + space for running games Amenities: BBQs, picnic tables, toilets, showers Scenic spot: Art-deco boardwalk, sea baths, diving platforms Seasonal bonus: Children’s pool opens 1 Nov–21 Apr, with lifeguards on duty Despite a crisp spring breeze, our crew had a blast. Can’t wait to visit again in November when the sea pool reopens—another fun swim to add to our Geelong holiday plans!

This is beautiful part of the world & Eastern Beach Reserve is an airy space to enjoy a full view across the bay. This is a great place to walk, run & play. Includes a children's playground and is ideal for all outside activities. I certainly found our visit here very relaxing & great place for quiet reflection.

Good place to relax if the crowd is less. Beware of seagulls, do not feed them. Keep your eatables covered else the swoop down and snatch it away.

The Carousel in Geelong is a charming piece of history, with 36 hand-crafted horses and two chariots carefully restored to their original colors. Nestled beside the Steampacket Gardens, this vintage carousel offers a delightful ride that takes you back in time. The waterfront redevelopment around it includes new restaurants, landscaped gardens, and walking paths. Inside the Geelong Visitor Centre, you can learn about its rich history and restoration process while enjoying a nostalgic ride for just $5.
Visited the Carousel Geelong on the waterfront for the first time and it was an absolute delight! Nestled along the picturesque waterfront, this carousel is a hidden gem that offers endless fun for families, kids, and anyone who appreciates the beauty of these timeless attractions. The carousel features beautifully crafted horses that add a touch of whimsy and nostalgia to the waterfront scenery. It's the perfect spot to create lasting memories with loved ones while enjoying a leisurely ride amidst the stunning backdrop of the waterfront. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem, and it quickly became a favorite spot for me and my family. Whether you're taking a spin on the carousel or simply admiring its charm from afar, the Carousel Geelong is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the waterfront area. Highly recommend stopping by and experiencing the magic of the Carousel Geelong for yourself. I’m planning to bring my nieces and nephew to appreciate this, reminds me of the one at z Melbourne Zoo. A Magical Trip Back in Time for Young and Old Alike In the heart of Geelong's waterfront, The Carousel is a gem that will transport you back in time to an era of whimsy and wonder. This beautifully restored 1892 carousel is a must-visit attraction for families, history buffs, and anyone looking to recapture a sense of childlike magic. As you step onto the carousel platform, you're immediately immersed in a world of vibrant colours and intricate details. The carousel itself is a work of art, featuring 36 hand-carved horses, as well as other animals like giraffes, zebras, and even a dragon. Each horse is uniquely decorated with ornate saddles, flowing manes, and glass jewels that catch the light as they gently sway to the tune of the carousel's old-fashioned organ music. The ride itself is a nostalgic experience that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. As the carousel begins to turn, you'll feel like a kid again, clinging tight to your chosen steed as you rise and fall in a mesmerising dance. The gentle motion and the lively music create a sense of carefree joy that's hard to resist. But The Carousel is more than just a fun ride - it's also a fascinating piece of history. The carousel was originally built in 1892 by Charles I.D. Looff, a renowned carousel maker, and has been meticulously restored to its former glory. As you gaze at the intricate carvings and the ornate mirrors that surround the ride, you can't help but feel a sense of awe at the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into creating this masterpiece. In addition to the carousel itself, the surrounding pavilion is filled with charming touches that add to the overall ambiance. Vintage carousel horses and other memorabilia line the walls, while comfortable seating areas invite you to linger and take in the sights and sounds. There's even a small gift shop where you can pick up souvenirs to remember your visit. Whether you're a parent looking for a fun and educational outing for your kids, a history enthusiast eager to see a piece of the past brought to life, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of a bygone era, with its stunning restoration, nostalgic charm, and sense of wonder, this magical attraction is sure to delight visitors of all ages.

The Carousel on Geelong’s waterfront adds a touch of nostalgia to the modern promenade. Housed in a glass pavilion that glitters after dark, the century-old horses circle to a cheerful barrel-organ soundtrack while the bay shimmers outside every window. It feels almost cinematic stepping aboard, with polished brass poles, hand-painted scenes on the rounding boards and gentle sea breezes drifting through the open doors in summer. Families cluster at the railing to wave each time riders glide past, though plenty of adults queue up for a turn as well. Staff are welcoming and patient, happy to let younger children choose a slower chariot if the leaping horses look too ambitious. A mobility lift means wheelchair users can join the ride, and the smooth timber deck around the carousel leaves room for prams to park without tripping anyone up. Even if you are just passing by, the pavilion is worth a pause. The historic steam engine sits on display behind glass, interpretive panels outline the restoration story, and a small kiosk sells coffee, ice cream and souvenirs shaped like tiny horses. On cooler evenings it is easy to linger with a hot drink, watching the reflections of the lights ripple across Corio Bay.

First time visiting the foreshore of Geelong and were pleasantly surprised at how lovely a city it is nestled on the shoreline. Great restaurants and the barge fish and chips restaurant would have to be one of the best fish and chip meals I have ever had and so reasonable for a very large portion. We have decided to holiday here next year. Very impressed !

The National Wool Museum, located in a beautifully restored 1872 bluestone wool store near Geelong's Waterfront, is a must-visit for history and culture enthusiasts. It offers insight into the city's role in the wool industry and presents the Australian story of wool fiber and textiles through hands-on exhibits, workshops, and curated galleries.
I visited the National Wool Museum yesterday and it was a fascinating experience. The museum does an excellent job of showcasing Australia’s wool industry from its early beginnings to modern day production. One of the highlights for me was learning about the deep connection between Australia’s Aboriginal people and the land as well as their historical contributions to the industry. The exhibits are well organized featuring interactive displays, historical artifacts, and even a working wool processing machine. The museum presents not just the technical aspects of wool production but also the social and cultural impacts making it an educational and engaging experience. Overall I highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in Australian history, textiles or just looking for something unique to do in Geelong. It’s a great place to appreciate how wool shaped Australia’s economy and culture over the years.

Very informative. I enjoyed it very much. I loved how they talk about not only the machinery but also other aspects such as animal welfare. The wildlife photography exhibition on the first floor is also amazing.
Sandali M — Google review
Loved the experience. The place seemed quite small and humble on the outside but packed a good amount of content inside, especially for the price. It went into detail about the whole process of wool production, with machines on display and images+text to explain the process. On the day we went, there was also a guy actually operating the central machine which is cool to see. Leave approx. 1 to 2 hours to experience the place. Really great place if you’ve got a bit of time and a couple bucks spare. Would recommend.

The Wool Museum was really interesting, but what we loved the most was the photography section! I wish they had stamps, stickers, or tickets as souvenirs instead of just the receipt—it would have been great for my journaling. I’d definitely visit again!

Fairy Park is a charming amusement park with whimsical and fairytale-themed attractions, including animatronic scenes and model trains. The park provides an excellent experience for children under the age of three who can enjoy pushing buttons, watching animated scenes, and listening to stories. Additionally, the playground at the bottom of the hill is fantastic and can keep kids entertained for hours. The admission fee of $22 for adults offers value for money as kids under three get in free.
It has been years since I have visited here, last time was with my Children probably 20 years ago, this time with my granddaughter. We had such a lovely day. No crowds so easy to get in and see all the displays. Grabbed lunch while we were there very well priced and delicious and ended the day playing at the playground. Definitely a great family activity and if you don't want to purchase food simply take a picnic lunch, there is loads of seating available.

A good place to visit with young kids, as they get to enjoy seeing their story book characters come to life. My daughter who's 4 years old absolutely enjoyed it. Plenty room supplied for packed lunches. There is a small cafe but not much variety for food options. Stroller friendly but a hike as you walk through the attractions to the top.

We had an enchanting day at Fairy Park with our kids! The princess-themed fairy tales and attractions were a huge hit with the little ones. The park was well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The kids loved the interactive experiences, and we enjoyed the nostalgic feel of classic fairy tales brought to life. The food options were suitable for families, and the play areas were clean and safe. Overall, Fairy Park is a great place for families with young children who love princesses and fairy tales. We can't wait to come back and explore more!

I was amazed how well they have maintained the place since it's been around for more than 60 years! Highly recommend it especially for kids who grew up reading and watching fairy tales like Snow White, Pinnochio. Jack and the Beanstalk and much more. As an adult, it's a walk down memory lane :) I think we loved it as much as the kids did! It was a slow uphill walk with many stops and things to see, so we didn't really felt it. Easily you could spend 2-3 hours here. Priced $26 for adults and $14 for ages 3-16. Reasonable to me.

The Australian National Surfing Museum, located in Torquay, Victoria, is a celebration of Australia's rich surfing history and beach culture. The museum features exhibits on the evolution of surfboards dating back to 1915, vintage surfing gear and memorabilia, an Ocean Art Gallery, and a theatre screening classic and contemporary surfing movies. Visitors can also enjoy interactive displays such as a wave-making tank, paddling machine for fitness testing, and a balance-testing machine for surfboards.
Great place to visit giving a great insight into Australia’s and the local areas surf history. In the same complex as a bunch of surf apparel shops with easy parking and public toilets

Very interesting and comprehensive museum. Everything from, Australian, local history and international. Great photos and examples of surfers, boards, competitions, trophies. A large theatre shows a very well put together film history with great information about many aspects of surfing life, famous faces and board development and manufacture. Great gift shop and welcoming staff.

A Memorable Visit to the Australian National Surfing Museum – Where History Meets the Ocean Spirit A friend and I recently visited the Australian National Surfing Museum, and it turned out to be far more than just a stop on our weekend itinerary, it was a journey through Australia’s deep connection with the ocean and the art of surfing. From the moment we stepped inside, we were immersed in an atmosphere that celebrated both sport and culture. The museum’s collection of vintage surfboards and memorabilia tells a powerful story of evolution, of how surfing shaped communities, lifestyles, and even attitudes toward the sea. We couldn’t help but laugh as we tried the interactive surfing simulators; balancing on those boards (without actual waves!) proved to be both humbling and hilarious. What truly stood out was the museum’s ability to blend education with emotion. Every exhibit seemed to honor not just the athletes, but the pioneers who turned surfing into a symbol of freedom and connection. The visuals, the storytelling, and even the soundtrack of rolling waves made the experience feel alive. As we left, we found ourselves reflecting on how surfing isn’t merely a sport, it’s a philosophy of movement, balance, and respect for nature. Visiting the Australian National Surfing Museum reminded me that great experiences don’t just teach us about history, they invite us to feel part of it.
Heidy W — Google review
It's a small, but lovely museum. Staff is friendly. The exhibition tells you how Australia became a surf country, thanks to Hawaiian surfers. It also teaches you about the evolution of the boards. It does, however, feel more like a local surf museum rather than a national one. As a non surfer (there's no surfing possible where I live), I would have loved to learn more about the surfing itself. Technique explanations, the best spots of Australia explained, etc are a few topics that would be a great addition. Other than that, I enjoyed it. The family rate of $25 is a fair price, when you come with 2 young children.
Wicked S — Google review
A great museum where I learnt a lot about Australian surfing champions. Saw surfboards from the original wooden ones with no fins to the up to date lightweight boards with 3 fins. A tour guide took us around and his explanations were great, including a movie of surfers catching some huge waves.

Our group had a fantastic time at Moorabool Ridge. They were extremely accomodating, especially since I had booked the wrong day 😅 Our group of 12 bought at least three bottles of wine home each. Local to us and we are embarrassed that we drive past twice a day. All that changed today with a stunning flight of wine tasting. Every wine is a winner for a different reason and we couldn't leave without a mixed box of Oscar and Sophia. We'll be back soon with some friends and family for a feed too. Lovely people, amazing setting and a great regional secret. Thank you for the great afternoon.

I contacted ahead & my 2 dogs and I were warmly welcomed by Rufus & his humans. I wanted to source local wines & produce, as Christmas gifts and was well rewarded. Preservative free jams, chutneys & relishes, fresh water & balsamic soaked olives & wines sold by the vigneron and his family. The aspect of the Cellar Door is as luscious as the 2017 & 2019 vintage wines ranging from a definitive cold climate Sauvignon Blanc to straight Shiraz or Shiraz blends. Buy 1 dozen, get 1 bottle free - perfect for Christmas giving. 🎅🏽🤶🎅🏽🤶🎅🏽🤶🎅🏽🤶🎅🏽

If they conduct business as horrible as the guy driving the Ute that has their company's logo on it, then I suggest going to another place. The man has absolutely no awareness while driving and nearly hit me while I was walking on the PEDESTRIAN crossing at Woolworths Geelong West, and kept on driving. Disgusting and not a good look for the business.

What a beautiful wine tasting experience! Thank you to Tim and Jo (and to Rufus and Nitro -their adorable dogs) for being such wonderful hosts. Great wine set amongst the most beautiful scenery, topped off with a genuine and kind host (and dog). I visited here with a group of girls last Saturday and loved it. Tim has a great knack for making wine and sharing his love for the whole process, evidenced by him naming the wines after his children. If you love a homely, genuine vibe in a setting where the owner helps you to connect with the land's history and unique wine varieties - give this place a go. The quality of the wine is top notch, isn't mass produced and is affordably priced!

We had a relaxing birthday celebration here. The setting was beautiful, the roses made a lovely backdrop for photos. The wine tasting was spread out over the afternoon along with the food which resulted in us staggering out carrying our favourite wines. The Cab Franc was a favourite with us all. The small children spent the afternoon running and playing in between platters of food. A bit of a drive but well worth the trip. Be prepared not to rush, sit back, relax and enjoy the wine and scenery.

Great visit - Sunday afternoon with live music and a fire - very friendly and helpful. Great range of cool climate wines. Handy stop on the way to Apollo Bay.

Went over a long weekend. The vineyard was a garage-like shed with awful cheap, plastic furniture. There was a private event on that took over the whole winery and it took 20 minutes to be served two glasses of wine. service was awful, the lady behind the "bar" seemed annoyed to have to serve anyone. The white wine had been sitting out all day, on a hot day, and so was warm and not particularly good. My advice - do not bother. This felt like going to a teenage party in someone's shed whilst drinking warm mediocre wine. put it this way - we bought bottles of wine from every winery we went to except this one...

While the location offers a pleasant and comfortable ambiance with good products, the service has been consistently poor during our two visits. On both occasions, despite selecting and paying for a tasting flight, we experienced significant delays as customers who arrived after us were prioritised. This suggests either understaffing or a flawed system for prioritising customers, and it significantly detracts from the overall experience.
