I found this service very convenient and flexible. It was great that one could easily speak to a person if required and that the pick up time was flexible despite booking a specific journey time. My driver dropped me off at a convenient location near my place at my request. I liked that they were flexible on this point too. I wasn't locked into a fixed drop off point that might have meant walking much further home. I will definitely be using Starbus Shuttle next time I fly!

Our flight landed in Melbourne early and with a short walk to the pickup point was fantastic. A Starbus Shuttle was on hand already with a space for 4 people but we had 5 so the driver rang the office for another bus which arrived 5 minutes later. After reading the not so great reviews on this page i was rather skeptical about using this service on recent trip to Melbourne. I am so glad we did...we were picked up about 15 minutes after calling when we arrived. Then on return trip the driver was waiting for us at our hotel right on time. I would recommend this service and will be defiantly using again. Thanks Starbus.
They provide door to door service. Their punctual, economical, the drivers are always helpful with your luggage. Our driver today provided us some great ideas for places to visit while here in Melbourne. Not only is that driver great for Starbus his great for Melbourne tourism and visitors. We highly recommend them.
If I could give this company 0 stars, I would.
I have been using this company for the past 6 years and I did not have any issues at all.. Until I made a booking and I was told they would arrive between 12:45 pm-1:05 pm. I met the driver at 12:45 pm and asked politely if he can wait for me while I take my luggage out. I was out at 12:50 pm, and I could not find the bus anymore. They left me and charged me $27. I called up to ask if they can reverse the charge as the driver clearly told me that he would wait for me. Anyway, they hanged up on me and still charged me $27.
What a great way to boost your profit and operate your business. All the people I know will not be using this company too anymore. Too rude and no manners.

I don't think I would be your only customer to try and book a shuttle on the same day of my flight. It would be great if you could invest in a system which stops customers from making same day reservations if this is how you prefer to operate. There are many systems offering this solution these days which saves a lot of headache for both parties. I'm extremely disappointed with the experience I had today and the agent even made fun of my comment regarding the review I was looking to post. I really hope Starbus takes this seriously and invest in a better solution for people travelling to Melbourne.
I had a fantastic experience with Starbus Shuttle! When I got to Melbourne, I called them and the operator was nice and gave me instructions on how to get where the shuttle was at. I was also able to get to my hotel safe and fast. Our driver, Allan, was friendly and such a good navigator.
Couldn't rate this service low enough- poor drivers, always late, unprepared, predatory pricing, vehicles probably unroadworthy.

I booked with Con-X-ion but got sub contracted out to these hopeless excuses.
They advertise departures "average" of every 15 minutes - I waited 30 minutes before a bus came and dropped off but would not pick up anyone and left. Waited another 20 minutes before a bus came willing to take us but had no pre booking information despite all three groups booking in advance
All in a rubbish vehicle nothing like what is advertised - looked like they pulled it off the street in a shanty town.
Trip back I booked an extra hour early to be safe and was still nearly missed my flight. Worse bus and overloaded. Driver was friendly but he was obviously booked to capacity from all over Melbourne so too many stops meant more delays, 45 minutes late for pick up and still 3 more stops before we could head to the airport. Woeful

Booked a transfer from the airport to the city, last minute and late at night. It was very easy to find the meet up point (just outside arrivals), also the person in charge to meet with the passengers was already calling me when I was still on the phone finishing booking the service. Waited(inside the airport) for a short period for another passenger and had a quick and safe return home. All personal were polite and attentive.

Didn't show up at the airport to transfer us to our accommodation. Tried to phone but no answer. Tried emailing and no reply. This was all very stressful so would not recommend anyone booking with this company. Stream Shuttles also refuse to refund and we paid a lot of money for this service. It is all a big con.
I am trying to be fair, they said on receipt will pick up between 7.45 to 8.05am. according to phone log, they called me at 7.43am, I immediately returned the call 7.43am and said they were out the front, within 1 or max 2 minutes I then came to the front of my hotel and no one here, so I waited out the front for a few minutes then called, he said he left and will come back, a minute or so later at 7.54am I then get a message saying wont come back. so I called both mobile and office who won't reply. Suggest anyone not use nor book with the only airport kiosk either, use another company who is also a couple of $ cheaper. As before I checked on line price was $36 return to and from Docklands, where at kiosk was more expensive, only $4 more but ok. now regret. Next time best to book online with another not Stream. Ended up getting Ola taxi only $32

Booked a return transfer to airport and 20 minutes before pick I called to find out booking had been over looked and no one was on their way to collect us. I was advised to catch a taxi instead. Driver offered to meet us at airport to pay the difference and when I arrived driver was not there before I boarded my flight. Would never use again.
I had a great experience with Stream Shuttle. The drivers were timely, friendly and helpful, the customer services staff were efficient. It's very affordable and a convenient door to door service.
We ordered this service through wotif, and had the same situation as all other reviews. No one turns up and no one answers the phone, wotif couldn't get a hold of them either but refused to refund the money. This is a complete scam!

A Memorable Heritage Journey with the Bellarine Railway
I recently took a 45‑minute ride on the Bellarine Railway’s “Swan Bay Express”, departing from Queenscliff and travelling alongside the picturesque Swan Bay.
From the moment I boarded the beautifully restored timber carriages to the pause at Lakers Siding where I could briefly explore the old signal box, the experience felt like stepping into another era.
The scenery; gentle wetlands, bay views, rolling countryside, added to the charm. It was a tranquil yet engaging way to spend a morning or afternoon.
This visit reminded me that slowing down and immersing in a well‑preserved piece of history can be both refreshing and inspiring.
Did this for my daughter’s 3rd birthday as Puffing Billy sold out too fast. We did the Swan Bay Express, much cheaper than Puffing Billy, we paid for a private compartment and a simple, straight forward experience with no issues. While as an adult it was uneventful and simple, my 3 yr old absolutely loved it. Short and sweet with lovely views, a short drive from Geelong where we stopped for lunch after on our way back home to Melbourne.
I was lucky enough to be included in a group for the lunch experience on the Q-Train on Thursday 18th Sept. It was fabulous. Great food, great service, and lovely friendly staff. Pricey but worth it.
A set 5 course menu, with bread and dip basket, 3 mains and a dessert. All locally sourced produce. Drinks are extra. The dishes were well prepared and absolutely delicious 😋 😍
Ladies if you would like to visit the little girls room at the first stop it is only a 15mins stop, and only one available.
Delightful train ride from Drysdale to Queenscliff with a 5 course lunch and drinks along the way. Compliments to the staff who were friendly and helpful explaining the meals and sights along the way. 3 trip well worth it !
The delight on the children’s’ faces as they boarded the train pulled by the little locomotive, brought back many fond memories. The loud whistle and the trails of steam echoed the bygone years.
A somewhat okay experience but I would say not worth the travel and time. The view wasn’t that great either, mostly bushes. Would have been nice if they sounded the horn more often to engage the kids.
The staff though were very lovely and accomodating and the feel of riding a vintage train was nice. And since my child was not at all interested, I reckon the 45 minute-ride was just a good amount of time.
We went for the Blues Train. Oh my g'ness brilliant night 100% recommend. A great meal provided. Lots of fun, dancing, and damn fine music.

The staff and volunteers at the RAAF Museum are absolutely outstanding, friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They take the time to explain the details of the aircraft, objects, and historical events, making the whole visit both informative and engaging. Their passion for aviation and history really brings the museum to life.
Entry is completely free, which is incredible considering the quality and depth of the exhibits. The museum itself is impressive, with around 10 to 15 aircraft on display and thousands of objects including uniforms, machine guns, missiles, aviation equipment and other things. The collection covers a huge timeline — from before World War I, through World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, East Timor, and even modern conflicts such as Afghanistan. Each section is beautifully presented, showing the evolution of the Royal Australian Air Force and its contribution to global history. The souvenir shop has really good prices.
The volunteers make the experience even better with their enthusiasm and storytelling.
A few practical tips: bring photo ID to enter, as it’s inside an active military base, and check the official website for updated opening hours before you go and book is mandatory. Parking is free and easy, and the site is well maintained and accessible.
Even if you’re not a big aviation fan, this museum is an incredible way to learn more about Australia’s military history and see up-close the technology and courage that shaped it. It’s informative, emotional, and absolutely worth the trip. A true hidden gem in Melbourne’s west!
This is a world class museum that does a great job of presenting the history of the RAAF. The museum starts with a gallery that highlights the force’s roles in war. Visitors then move through three large hangers containing historically important aircraft and further displays. The aircraft are well presented and many are the only examples of the type in Australia - some are the only survivors in the world.
At 1 pm there was a well executed flying display featuring a CT4 trainer performing aerobatics. The pilot and volunteers gave interesting short talks about the history of the aircraft and the display. All the staff at the museum are enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
The main problem with the museum is that it’s not serviced by public transport, with the nearest bus stop being 20 minutes walk away. I got Ubers from the nearest train station which were about $20 each way. The hanger displaying recent jet fighters is also currently closed while OH&S issues are fixed - this was disappointing.
There are also some quirks to visiting. As the museum is on an active RAAF base, visitors need to register online by 8 am on day they visit and bring photo ID. There are also not any food or drink options. The museum website explains these any other issues.
They are only open on Sundays and Thursdays and advanced booking is a must. Please carry a photo ID for entry. Well managed by the team. Great insight in to the history of RAAF.
Interesting museum, this is on an active air base so tickets must be bought 24hrs in advance. Great selection of aircraft and a great history of the site and the RAAF told through the exhibits.
They've done a very nice work. Perfect for adults to visit and kids too. Make sure you're booking it before you go on their 2 allocated visiting days.

A spectacular setting with bay views. The food is top quality and there are drink options for all tastes (my fave was the Figgy Old Fashioned). The taste of the food is the main thing but I also really liked the presentation.

We stopped by Basil's Farm for a romantic brunch as part of our babymoon celebrations. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much—but the experience far exceeded our expectations. From the picturesque farm setting and thoughtfully styled spaces to the genuinely friendly staff and, most importantly, the incredibly delicious food—it was a wonderful surprise. Whether you're after a casual meal or looking for a wedding venue, we would absolutely recommend Basil's Farm!
A family winters day lunch that warmed the heart. The staff are to be complimented, they made us feel welcomed with lovely smiles. The food was exemplary. The farmhouse Pinot Noir was to be recommended. Not much more to say except we will be back.

Lovely dining experience - good menu. I only tried the chardonnay but rated it quite highly as did my friends. A good selection of food we tried the squid, lamb, pasta, tiger prawns, ravioli, cured salmon and chat potatoes just to mention a few of the dishes. Everybody said they enjoyed their dishes. Staff were polite and car parking plentiful. Lovely gardens for those that enjoy a stroll. We attended on a sunny day and the view is terrific. Will be back.

Every time I go, I’m amazed by how beautifully it’s maintained - rows upon rows of roses in every colour imaginable, each one perfectly cared for.
The scent in the air is divine, and the atmosphere is so peaceful you can’t help but feel lighter just walking through.
It’s the perfect spot for a slow stroll, quiet reflection, or even just sitting under a tree surrounded by blooms. The volunteers do such an incredible job keeping the gardens looking stunning all year round.
Whether you love roses, photography, or just need a moment of calm, this rose garden is pure therapy for the soul.

We absolutely love visiting Werribee Open Range Zoo! There are so many amazing animals to see, and it’s always such a fun and exciting day out for the whole family.
My favourite part is definitely the safari bus tour — it’s such a unique experience that takes you around the open range area to see animals up close, just like you’re on a real African safari. Meya (Not sure if i spelt her name correctly but) did a fantastic job driving us around and explaining everything so clearly. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable — kudos to her!
It was also really exciting when we got stuck behind Harold the giraffe for a little while — he decided to stand right in the way and wouldn’t move! We all had a good laugh and got an even closer look at him. Moments like that make the tour so memorable.
They’ve also just opened the new Elephant Trail, and it’s absolutely incredible! It’s a huge, 21-hectare, state-of-the-art space that gives the elephants so much room to roam. The design is beautiful and really well thought out — you can tell a lot of care has gone into making it a great environment for the animals

Werribee Open Range Zoo is truly magical! From the friendly and welcoming staff to the spacious animal enclosures and spotless grounds, everything about this place is exceptional. The new state-of-the-art elephant enclosure is incredible — it’s even larger than all of Melbourne Zoo put together and that’s just one section of the park!
We did the Giraffe Animal Experience, which turned out to be so much more than just a tour. We hopped on one of the safari buses and were taken right into the open plains, surrounded by incredible animals roaming freely — seeing the rhino family up close was an unforgettable highlight.
The behind-the-scenes giraffe experience was amazing too. We got to feed the giraffes, explore their enclosure, and learn so much about them. Our guide, JESSE was absolutely fantastic! His passion for the animals, knowledge, and fun personality made the whole experience come alive. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and it made our visit extra special. My husband and I were lucky it was raining so it was just us 2 on the tour .
The zoo’s wide-open spaces make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Africa — it’s breathtaking how much room the animals have to roam.
If you’re visiting the Melbourne area, Werribee Zoo is an absolute must-see. It was the highlight of our trip, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Paid $55 for the entrance ticket and an additional $60 for the Deluxe Safari, totally worth it! The deluxe safari gets you much closer to the animals, and the guide gives detailed explanations along the way. They stop for photos too, which is nice.
We accidentally walked past the deluxe tour waiting point (it’s just next to the normal safari area along the elephant trail 😂), so just note, the normal safari cars are giraffe-painted, while the private/deluxe ones are zebra-painted. Easier to spot!
Our guide, Daniel, was awesome, super knowledgeable and engaging. He even showed us animal items like fur, horns, and skeletons, which made it extra interesting. The small group size also meant he could spend more time explaining things to everyone.
The only downside is the limited range of animals on the safari itself, mainly rhinos, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and camels roaming freely. You’ll also see bisons, Mongolian horses, and (I think) gazelles from a distance behind fences. Would’ve been nice to see elephants or hippos too, but it makes sense since the vehicles aren’t caged like in other safaris around the world.
That said, you can still see elephants, lions, and more by walking around the zoo afterwards, so it’s not a dealbreaker.
Another plus, the zoo has a baby feeding and diaper changing room, super clean and even has toys to keep toddlers occupied while you clean up.
Overall, a great experience! Would definitely recommend the deluxe safari for a more personal and educational tour. 🦒🦏🦓

The open Zoo is awesome. I went on a school holiday so free for the kids. That was wonderful. No words to explain. We have two safari one is free with the entry ticket and the premium costs dollar fifty each. Our van went very near to the animals while the free safari was near too but goes only on road. Don’t wait to visit the zoo. I am delighted to post the naughty lions of the zoo.

Yes. I found the community park land and sports facilities adjacent to the Bungie's water hole on the Werribee River, which would be a great place to swim on a very hot day ... But they have No Swimming signs posted on the waters edge, so maybe there are crocodiles or piranha or sumting .... But it's a lovely spot.
Lovely river walk where dogs are welcome. No shade but easy path, nice views. Note, the road to the car park is full of large potholes and requires a lot of manoeuvring to avoid. Not unsafe but not everyone would enjoy this road.

Recent flooding has caused structural damage to the footbridge over the Werribee River, and the bridge is closed indefinitely.

"The proposed repair works to the structure and stream embankment are significant. Repair works need careful planning and design with many site and environmental factors being considered. Flora and fauna, and hydrological assessments have been undertaken. These have provided information required to schedule the repair works, which must occur at a certain time of year. This will minimise the impact on flora and fauna in the area surrounding the bridge and consider expected water levels in the river. An ideal timeframe has been determined and works are expected to take place in Q1 FY 25/26."

This should be better signed so more know about this beautiful place. Lovely trails to walk along and view the red cliffs or to walk along the river trails and see wallabies, lizards etc. Of course it is a lovely way to walk into the Werribee Mansion too.

First time visiting Edgar's Mission. First of all, the weather was terrible, which was a shame. It never once stopped raining the entire tour. Emma, our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I wish we could have fed some more animals and were able to roam freely around the grounds ourselves. It's still a beautiful place to visit. They do great work and I will visit again!!

The animals all have the most beautifully kept homes and rolling paddocks and it was so nice to get to join them and interact. Highly recommend volunteering if you get the chance! I attended one of the Helping Hands days and had a great time, though it is reasonably hard work (if you're not used to farm work!). So lovely to be a part of helping their beautiful residents stay comfortable and happy.
This is one of my favourite places and I’ve loved every visit. This was my first stay in one of their Tiny Houses (we were in Edgar’s Cottage) and can genuinely say it was one of the most peaceful and soul filling weekends I’ve had in a while. The stay included a 90min tour (our tour guide was Lauren and she was fantastic), the ability to wander the farm and interact with the beautiful rescued animals was heaven. Each with their own story, worthy of telling.
The houses are exactly as the name reflects and it totally works. Friends stayed next door (Timmy’s Villa) which was equally adorable.
The interiors are beautifully thought out and little touches with the decors (themed to suit their namesakes) topped it off.
It was awesome to be able to spend the weekend on this incredible place. Running in to Pam and Ruby was the perfect way to finish off a brilliant weekend. Thankyou!
If you aren’t able to stay, make sure you at least get up there for one of their tours!

This so called Winery is in a residential area and infringes on the people that live in the area
It has been closed for nearly a year.
With renovations and building done without council approval.
It is an eye sore with the nets from last season's crop laying on the ground between the vines.
The place should be closed permanently.
My parents were gifted a wekend away here so I booked too luckly I did because my parents are old school. There was no check in instruction sent too the emails we arrived around 5ish, had too ring for which rooms whos? Our room was warm heater was on, Parents was freezing 🥶 the heat was not working he said it take 10 minutes warm up No then found out it was the wrong room so moved them too another, so my dad just waited in mine till there's warmed up, they had no internet q code, luckly ours did, expired yougart in fridge, bacon and bread and eggs beautiful. The cabins not too bad property untidy the roads too cabins broken branches on road needs alot of Care too the property looks abandoned we had booked for 2 night we stayed 1 night left next day.

We had the pleasure of staying at Gisborne Peak Winery and were greeted by very lovely smiles and service given by Linny and Lynn in the restaurant. They went above and beyond to let us know of local experiences, things to do and places to visit.
The food was also very delicious and well priced.
We were soon given our keys to the accommodation, which was set up very average at most. There were a few things that need revamping and work, but we did enjoy our short and sweet stay and didn’t let us bother us too much.
We would definitely be back for the restaurant!

The pizza was small but priced at $22. The coffee was good. The staff were friendly and served with a smile. Onsite unisex toilets. Plenty of parking. No split bills.
There are cottages to rent on site as well.
Randomly chose this place with my husband on a day trip to Gisborne with 2 family members from England and New Zealand. We chose the large sharing platter and a bottle of wine recommended by our hostess Lynn. The food and wine did not disappoint. The atmosphere was warm and inviting even though cold outside. The service from Lynn was exceptional. We plan to visit again with more family to enjoy. Thank you Lynn for your service with a smile.

I recently checked out Serendip Sanctuary and I have to say, it’s a pretty cool spot if you’re into nature and a relaxed day out. The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to find parking – there’s a ton of space so you don’t have to stress about where to leave your car. The walking trails are varied, making it fun whether you’re up for a short stroll or a longer hike. I even spotted some kangaroos and lots of different birds especially Emus.
The park also made sure to cover the basics for everyone. There are disability-friendly toilets and sheltered barbecue spots, which are perfect for a casual picnic or a small get-together. I appreciated the fresh water stations scattered around too – super handy on a sunny day. It all adds up to a very welcoming and laid-back vibe.
Its a hidden gem that’s both accessible and full of natural beauty. It might not be the most fancy place around, but sometimes you just want a spot where you can unwind, enjoy some wildlife, and have a nice, simple day outdoors. I’d definitely recommend giving it a go if you’re in the area.

First time visit , there were workman present building new infrastructure, the majority of paths were in good condition. Lots of bird life and the hides were well maintained, I was disappointed in the lack of native animals I believe there were more in the past, we saw 3 wallaby’s, it’s quite a large area so it could accommodate more of our native animals , especially as it is advertised as a sanctuary and there is less land available for wildlife. Overall a peaceful walk, some nice areas for a byo picnic. Toilets available in the car park area.
It was pretty empty, we enjoyed 30 minutes without seeing a single person, just us the animals and the wind. Very unexpected on a Sunday during the day. Also love that these are short walks and you can't get lost and feel safe. I managed to do all loops with my 20 months old toddler. We saw geese, emus, wallabies and many birds. Best thing, it's free!

This is undoubtedly a place steeped in mystique, definitely worth a visit. It reveals a story that took place in 1900, when a group of children from a boarding school were visiting this mountain. Four girls decided to explore the rock on their own. One of them got scared and returned to the other children. Three girls continued on their way, soon joined by their maths teacher. Eventually, they went missing. One girl was found shortly after, but she couldn't explain what had happened.
After the investigation begins, a series of tragic incidents and suicides occur! It’s chilling! Visiting the mountain can be challenging for people with disabilities. However, they can still feel the full power of this place, the power of this rock, from below! Before the climb to the rock, there is a museum dedicated to this story. This place truly evokes a certain sense of fear, especially if you learn about the history before starting the ascent.

I suggest taking a small picnic lunch up and having it at the top. Beautiful! Oh and make sure you at least go on the stairs track. That's where the magic is!

An absolute gorgeous place to go for a weekend hike, complete with a fantastic cafe for a bite afterwards. Worth avoiding hot days though, climbing the may be challenging for some people.
Nice place to visit with family if you would like to have a short walk with nice landscape view. However, car entry ticket price is $15 which seems to be bit overprice compared to what park has to offer. Its one time go place though...

One of the few parks in the western side with some good grade 3 walking treks.
Some walks are moderate to steep in height but not that difficult. Nice views and mix of scenery. The long trek takes roughly around 3hrs.
It's has a beach at one part of the river which can be used for swimming or a dip.
There are few tables in the picnic area, and it has drop toilet but not sure how it is.

So so so beautiful. One of my favourite hikes I’ve been on since I started hiking. The weather was amazing. The hike was relatively challenging, with a few rocky bits, but was very much worth it.
It’s one of the most beautiful places to visit in Victoria, perfect for any sunny day, whether in summer or winter. Some sections can be challenging, with slippery rocks and small areas where you need to lean on the rocks and hold a rope, so it’s not suitable for everyone—especially young children or the elderly. Definitely worth visiting, and I’d happily go again.
Beautiful walk through the Werribee gorge. The weather was on our side! Great challenges, and amazing views and scenery throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed the river walk and the beach area was excellent for a lunch stop. Highly recommend to take your time and enjoy this little bit of nature.
It was a very interesting trail comprises of walk by the beautiful stream, narrow cliff side walk, crossing huge rocks with rope support, uphill and downhill, beaches to swim. We in our 60s took approximately 4hrs to complete the Waribee Curcuit with stops for photo-taking.. we all had enjoyed the trail. Yes the anticlockwise could be a better direction to have the cliff narrow path and crossing the big rocks with rope support at the end of the trail..Strongly recommended.
I've walked both the short circuit and long and neither are overly difficult hikes. There are a couple of long steeper sections on both trails but nothing that will kill you. Slow and steady. Signage is ok. Could be better. But trail is pretty easy to identify without the signs. Although id still recommend having a digital or paper map with you as a backup. Not an overly scenic trail though. The nicest part is to the south along the creek. The majority of the trail is though the middle of the bush so not many lookouts along the way. Parking and toilet provisions are good. 3.5 stars because of the lack of scenery and the noise from the freeway on the northern end is a bit of a downer.
A fantastic place. Even on a grey, rainy day! Lots of options for trails too for different levels of trekkers. Easy or hard as you like. The low track runs along the creek (where we took a freezing but liberating dip) with a section you can climb across, which was good fun. We didn’t spot any koalas but apparently it’s known for a lot of sightings.
Tip: park in bottom car park so you don’t finish your trek and have to walk uphill to get to your car!
amazing trail, lots of different walking options for different fitness levels and the picnic areas and nicely sectioned away from the trail.
giving minus one star because the lookout point circuit is a little confusing. If you make it to the top, be mindful of signs.

Definitely a great family activity and if you don't want to purchase food simply take a picnic lunch, there is loads of seating available.

A good place to visit with young kids, as they get to enjoy seeing their story book characters come to life. My daughter who's 4 years old absolutely enjoyed it. Plenty room supplied for packed lunches. There is a small cafe but not much variety for food options. Stroller friendly but a hike as you walk through the attractions to the top.
We had an enchanting day at Fairy Park with our kids! The princess-themed fairy tales and attractions were a huge hit with the little ones. The park was well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The kids loved the interactive experiences, and we enjoyed the nostalgic feel of classic fairy tales brought to life. The food options were suitable for families, and the play areas were clean and safe.

I was amazed how well they have maintained the place since it's been around for more than 60 years! Highly recommend it especially for kids who grew up reading and watching fairy tales like Snow White, Pinnochio. Jack and the Beanstalk and much more. As an adult, it's a walk down memory lane :) I think we loved it as much as the kids did! It was a slow uphill walk with many stops and things to see, so we didn't really felt it. Easily you could spend 2-3 hours here. Priced $26 for adults and $14 for ages 3-16. Reasonable to me.
An amazing place to visit! Very beautiful and we'll kept. The kids absolutely loved hearing and seeing all the fairytales. We took the pram in with us, and it really was too bad! It is very steep on some spots, so being muscle power.
Fairy Park in Anakie is a magical spot for kids! The fairytale characters and story displays are so well done, and our kids loved exploring and spotting their favourites. A fun, safe, and imaginative day out for families.

Great wine set amongst the most beautiful scenery, topped off with a genuine and kind host (and dog). I visited here with a group of girls last Saturday and loved it. Tim has a great knack for making wine and sharing his love for the whole process, evidenced by him naming the wines after his children. If you love a homely, genuine vibe in a setting where the owner helps you to connect with the land's history and unique wine varieties - give this place a go. The quality of the wine is top notch, isn't mass produced and is affordably priced!
We had a relaxing birthday celebration here. The setting was beautiful, the roses made a lovely backdrop for photos. The wine tasting was spread out over the afternoon along with the food which resulted in us staggering out carrying our favourite wines. The Cab Franc was a favourite with us all. The small children spent the afternoon running and playing in between platters of food. A bit of a drive but well worth the trip. Be prepared not to rush, sit back, relax and enjoy the wine and scenery.
The scenery is breathtaking. Felt like green Swiss Alps. Lovingly Greeted by a friendly dog who wants to play fetch all the time.
Wine tasting is a really unique experience here. Family winery with names of children and Granny ❤️ that.

Beautiful gardens. Recommend to take the scenic drive around the property first. Signs are located as soon as you drive in. It will bring you up to a carpark. Perfect place to take in the views, have a picnic, or short stroll to the wonderful cafe. Allow yourself a few hours or plan the day. Public Toilets are available. Beautiful walking trails amongst the trees, gorgeous unique flowers. Highly recommend the cafe for a bite and coffee.

A steep cardio workout climb to the top of Mostyn St but drive up & do a circuit of the monument in your car from Wills Street. You can park at the small car park below the monument at end of Mostyn St but will have to walk up steps & walkway to get to it. Great views. It does make it more interesting if you knew the colourful background story of Burke - the Irish policeman who actually could not find his way home after a good tipple - let alone lead an expedition..But nevertheless - the contribution to the venture deserves a monument.
Was told by my neighbour Geoffrey to visit this destination as I am a fan and collector of nice views. I was prepared for a spectacular view based on Geoffrey's ramblings. However I needed my spectacles as once I arrived I could not see any part of the supposed view for it was blocked by a gross gigantic pillar style stack of square rocks right in front of me. While I appreciate my quirky neighbour taking an interest in my hobby, I do NOT appreciate misinformation. I see plenty of other reviews here praising the "view" I wonder if they perhaps had magic spectacles that enabled them to see through rock, or they had visited before these jokers Burke and Williams dumped their unneeded square rocks here. Please council see to it that more appropriate eyewear is provided to guests, or raise the level of the road so people can see over the monolith.

Beautiful spot for a walk around the lake. It took us about an hour with three kids in tow (one in pram). It's reasonably pram friendly, however, be mindful of extremely steep hills! There's a couple of them.
The playground is fully fenced, which is a massive bonus!

So serene... so beautiful. The walk around the lake is full of tranquility. A must-go-to spot... be it summer, winter, spring or autumn... as each season this place has it own different beauty.
Within walking distance of town, Lake Daylesford is a man-made lake that was built in the 1930’s. On arrival, early in the morning, a mist was rising from the water. The picturesque lake offers a ‘peace mile’ walking track which is almost 3 k’s long. There is also plenty to do here, swimming, fishing and birdwatching. There is a playground, paddleboats (but I don’t think they have seen much action for a while) BBQ’s and table and chairs. Food, coffee and comfort facilities onsite too. Well worth a visit if you are in town

If you’re heading to Daylesford and think you’ll just “pop in” to the Mill Market—think again. I had to physically usher my mum and sister out after hours of wandering, because we could’ve happily spent the whole day there.
This place is a treasure trove. Yes, the vintage wares are incredible—retro furniture, vinyl records, quirky knick-knacks—but it’s not just a nostalgia fest. There’s modern giftware, a garden section with charming outdoor pieces, and even a cozy little café for when your legs give out from browsing. There are toilets on site.
One moment I was admiring vintage crystal ware, the next I was face-to-face with a shelf of ventriloquist dolls that were equal parts fascinating and creepy. (Seriously, they looked like they had stories to tell—and not all of them wholesome.)
Whether you’re a collector, a curious wanderer, or just someone who loves a good rummage, the Mill Market is a must. Just be warned: time disappears in there.

This second-hand market is absolutely incredible — probably the largest in all of Victoria, even bigger than the one in Geelong! 🏺 Every section is so well organized, and you can easily spend an entire day wandering around discovering treasures. The atmosphere is relaxed yet full of life, with friendly stall owners and lots of hidden gems waiting to be found. Full of many treasurers . Lots of books, furniture, bric a brac , anything you can imagine. Great outdoor garden nursery full of plants and other surprises.
We visited these aptly named markets 7 years ago in 2018 and we had to revisit again. Being from Perth, WA - we don’t have anything that remotely resembles these incredible markets. So much variety and such quirkiness. We only had 2 hours here but easily spend a couple of days going through everything. We were concerned Our 2 young teenage boys wouldn’t last half an hour but even they found interest and lasted 1.5 hours before they got bored and wanted out. Thankfully the cafe onsite managed to placate them for a tad longer (although the sausage roll did take 20 minutes…) but their nougat made up for it and was amazing!
Love the Eiffel Tower and gorilla out front!
Will try to squeeze in another visit before we head home.
I have never been anyplace quite like this. I could spend all day and still have not explored all their is to see.

I had already pre booked and the staff mentioned us all by name, offered us a locker for an extra $7.50. For our clothes and phones. We had a lovely staff member/ life guard give us the run down of the bath house and spa. Which was very helpful. YES it’s unisexes pools, spa and change rooms. Everyone in our experience was very respectful & patient. And most of the people did not mind the kids being there. We had 90 minutes from the moment we got into the water. Thank you to the staff and the fellow patrons ( who didn’t mind a with us chat with the kids) you relaxed us all. Can’t wait to come back again and just float in that gorgeous water

Pools and spa were great, but there wasn't really enough space for the volume of people.
One pool for basic entry, pay extra for the other 3 pools and sauna.
Per earlier the pools are beautiful: fresh, different temps, one with beds to lie in the water, very clean facilities.
But the pools themselves fit about 10 ppl in before you're feeling crowded, which took away from the relaxation side of things.
Recommended trying it to see if it works for you.
Disappointing experience. I have been wanting to come here for years and it was such a let down. The communal space is too small for the volume of people they allow in at a given time. It's advertised as a relaxation haven, but instead it had more of a local pool feel. There were too many children splashing around and jumping in. We visited off peak too.
I'm a mother myself and am positive towards allowing children in, but perhaps have an adults only section that doesn't cost double the price.
The staff assume you have been before and were vague and disinterested. There were no cups at the hydrating station and no lifeguards/staff to be seen to ask if they could refill them.
The only positives are the tranquil setting, nestled deep in Hepburn and the bathrooms are clean and well stocked with essentials.
Save your money and go to Peninsula Hot Springs instead. Same price and way better value for money.

Water temperature was just like the local swimming pool. Only 1 slightly larger and 1 small pool to choose from. No outdoor spa, no cold plunge pool. Paid $60 for the same experience that could have been much less to go to a public swimming pool, not relaxing, not hot at all.
Only 1 change room for male and female together! It was ridiculously awkward and weird! The conditioner bottle was totally empty, it shows that no one maintain or clean the area for days.
I'm just glad that I only wasted $60 without choosing any other package as they can't even uphold the most basic general experience.
Unfortunately disappointed in my experience here. You are paying a pretty large fee for use of what is in effect 1 heated pool and 1 hot tub that due to the large volume of people they allow access to at one time doesn’t allow for a calming or relaxing experience.
Whilst I respect the decision to allow children access I do feel it would be appropriate to have an adult only of child friendly zone.
In comparison to other bath house experience I’ve had for a similar price point I’ve found this one lack luster.
Well worth the trip to relax and enjoy this beautiful setting. Very friendly and welcoming staff added to the overall experience in the mineral spa. We didn’t stay in the hotel but had a pleasant experience in the spa. Thank you for having us
My sister and I had the most relaxing weekend away at Hepburn. We both started with a treatment at the spa, where we were treated to the best facial we've ever had. I have sensitive skin, so facials can be hit and miss, but none of the products irritated my skin, which was great. We then had a 90min bathing session, followed by a wander through the spa apothecary. Here, Michael was absolutely amazing, and helped us concoct our own bath scrub and bath soak. I can't rate this experience highly enough!
The rest of our weekend was equally as relaxing, with a stay in one of the escape villas and dinner at a local restaurant.
If you're in need of rejuvenation, Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa will not disappoint!
We had the most amazing weekend at the bathhouse. The room was beautiful! Staff were friendly and welcoming. The bathhouse pools and spas were glorious. I can not fault any part of our experience. We didn’t want to leave.

Such a fun experience for all. The staff are amazing. It was my daughter’s birthday when we visited and everyone wished her a happy birthday. They made her day so special. The entertainment was so fun and engaging to watch.
A bit pricey but not too bad compared to other similar types of entertainment.

Absolutely amazing time we had here. We had the gatehouse room sleeps 6!! Loved having the castle to ourselves (and the few other residents) after hours, kids have has the best time even with no amusements on. The castle is amazing to explore and do the maze in the dark by moon light. Location is great too. Just far enough out of Ballarat to be quiet and remote but local enough to drive into town for dinner and back. ☺️ Kids have asked to come back already and we haven't left yet. Lots of activities for everyone to get involved in and staff have been super friendly and helpful. ☺️ Definitely on our list of places to come back to ❤️
We stayed at a caravan site and had park entrance. The site was fantastic! 10/10 you really can’t go wrong with any site! They are all fabulous! The park was wonderful. The kids had a great time, the staff are wonderful and the acting from the charters in the park was fantastic. I don’t usually rate anything but this 100% exceeded our expectations!
Came during school holidays for the goblins and fairies activities and were disappointed as there simply wasn’t anything on! Website says there’s fairies, goblins, wizards etc and characters wandering around with activities to do - nothing like that on all day!
Incredibly overpriced and be aware everything inside costs extra and is an obvious money grab. Jousting lasted 20 mins, eatery sold out of everything good before 2pm and all the stores (which are permanent rentals) were overpriced for Temu items. It’s incredibly small also, thought it’d take a day to see, we were done pretty quickly and it does close quite early.
Animals are also kept in small, dirty pens during the castle opening hours. Poor Kevin the peacock was a particularly sad sight to see.
Also not accessible for the elderly or disabled - no ramps at all, incredibly unstable and hilly stoned paths/roads. Disappointing.
We stayed in a King room overnight, again highly overpriced for what you get. Avoid in Winter as big gap under the front door would make it freezing. Dirty bathroom, no water pressure, lumpy mattress. Wouldn’t recommend staying here!
Went to a Halloween event over the weekend. Found the whole experience and what the grounds have to offer extremely underwhelming. Definitely cannot spend a whole day there as there’s minimal to see and do. Quite boring, even for the little kids. Shows were the highlight of the visit. Overpriced for what it is. Our first and last visit there. Do not recommend.
Haven't been here since I was a kid. Took my family with me. And we loved every bit of it! Food was great. The entertainment was abustly amazing. My highlight was having a great chat to the blacksmith. Definitely coming back again!
We took the family up for the faries, goblins and knights school holiday fun and my girls had a blast. They were dressed up as fairies and searched the grounds for different things. They got to be apart of giving the favour to one of the knights and were so excited. All the characters make it super fun.

Interesting place and the unicorn festival was particularly fun for kids. Not sure what it's like on a normal day. I wouldn't go out of my way for it normally but in this case we drove out an hour or so and had a nice day.

We only managed to catch the gold-making demonstration, which was fantastic. The streets are stroller-accessible, though some of the shops aren’t, which is understandable given the historic setup. There’s so much history to read, see, and experience. I booked tickets via booking.me which only coat me $112 for a family one day pass. Bit of a discount there.

Husband and I loved our visit on Wednesday! We were there for roughly 5 hours and there was plenty to see and do that we didn't have much down time or waiting around. Wasn't too busy which was a bonus, so we got to quietly enjoy a lot of the experiences and shops minus the 2-3 school excursions running around, but we didn't cross paths often.
The staff did a wonderful job at making the experience feel immersive and authentic, and we loved that there were things to enjoy as adults.
Definitely recommend buying the mine tour or the photo time slot in advance!
A fantastic day or 2 out for the whole family. Step back in time and explore Australia's gold rush history. Cute shops, delicious food from a bakery to a Cafe. We live how the staff are not only in costumes but character too. The displays, tours are really well done.
While visiting Vic/Ballarat area thought I'd pop into here for something to do. Allocated a few hours.

Best way to describe it was a living museum.
The staff there (mostly volunteer) were all in character and dressed up and so amazingly friendly.

Visiting Sovereign Hill felt like stepping straight into the 1850s. The whole place brings the gold rush era to life with incredible detail, from the mining demonstrations to the dusty streets and costumed characters. We tried our hand at gold panning and, to our surprise, actually found gold! It was such a fun, hands‑on moment that made the day unforgettable. A brilliant experience for anyone wanting history with a bit of adventure.
We attended Aura at Sovereign hill and it was a fantastic experience. The 3 elements of the show were great, breaking up the story telling and the way it was showcased was a great way to see and hear the story. There was a school attending the same night we did (roughly 60ish students) but the team did a great job of moving everyone around through the 3 different experiences. Really worth the visit.
Solid gold. Sovereign Hill is a family friendly romp through early gold mining in Victoria, historical town with a unique blend of hand tools and functioning Industrial Revolution technologies make this a prize in Victoria. From the shops to the Poppet head frame a variety of interesting artifacts and a knowledgeable period attired staff that are eager to explain the town. This will take 4-6 hours to get a good self-guided tour. The gardens on the hill are a pleasant diversion from the rustic backdrop, don’t miss it!!
Even as adults we had a lovely day there, even with a sprinkle of rain.
Still have the same memories of the place from 20+ years ago, which speaks to their upholding of the heritage component of the place.
Underground tour was great, candy shop was delicious.

I went there today. The best thing about this gallery is location which is close to station and shopping areas. Some of the collections were amazing and visiting it is completely free of charge. Just one show these days is a paid one. There were works from a ballarat based artist which were superb. The gallery also had a gift shop to purchase souvenirs as well as a cafe for relaxing. The washrooms were very clean. The staff was really nice. Overall it was a good experience.
We liked this gallery as it was quiet and well-maintained. It wasn’t a big place, they offered about five different exhibitions, from classic paintings to modern art.

The gallery resides in a beautiful building that dates back to the town's gold rush boom years.
Free entry to see a great collection of Australian and European art with some dating back to 1800 or earlier. There were also temporary exhibitions and modern art installations.
Apparently only 2% of their art is able to be displayed there at any one time so it may be worth a follow up visit later on.
I went to the Art Gallery of Ballarat today on a Friday. It was not busy. Entry was free which is great. Only a few minutes walk from Ballarat railway station. The Gallery is very interesting with a lot of interesting arts. It's very clean and nice like a 5-star hotel. I loved and enjoyed all the arts that they displayed, really appreciate all the staff for taking care of the place so well and highly appreciate all the artists that provided their artwork there.
Beautiful art gallery with interesting and thoughtful art. Place was packed last Sunday despite the rain, the Vintage Car Show, part of Ballarat's Heritage Festival. It was free entry on that day.
We had a walk through downstairs but couldn't handle the crowd so didn't make it upstairs. Will be back.
The building is absolutely lovely! It's so nice to see that it was purpose built, and continues to house many creative works of art.
Highly recommend a visit if you are in Ballarat.

Always a lovely spot, 6km running/walking/bike track around the lake, getting lights put in which will be great for safety at dusk and early mornings. Lots of bird life, great for kayaking, SUP or windsurfing and fishing. Lots of playgrounds and toilets around every side of the lake.
Really nice spot. We don't have lakes where we live and so found this to be really nice, the style of buildings in this area set a really lovely scene when looking out across the lake and bird life was abundant.
We stopped to see at a few different points around the lake, the adventure playground, and some of the boat houses were great. This is also a great spot to go for a jog or just stroll along the walking tracks.
A beautiful spot for a walk, lots a great views to be had of the local bird life and historic buildings. There is a walking track right around the lake, which you can also ride a bike along to. Lots of places to stop and take in the views and capture some great moments. There are several playground around the lake with the main one on the west side near the Botanical Gardens. There are also old tram rides and paddle boat rides at certain time of the year.
Small boats and fishing are also allowed on the lake. A great place to visit for the day.
A really beautiful walk around Lake Wendouree. Plenty of wildlife, viewpoints and a few points of interest around the lake.
The walk itself is not far at all and the pathways are quite clear and suitable for pushchairs / wheelchairs.
Dogs are allowed around the lake (on-leash) and there's a few cafes / restaurants for a coffee and snacks.
Amazing lake which is spread over a vast expanse. It has got walking/ running trail along its edge which provides good opportunity for people run, walk, cycle at their leisure.
The lake itself is pretty clean and has got lots of birds and ducks etc.
Some people had fishing rods with them as well, not sure if there are any fishes on offer though.
Overall a good place to visit if you are in the area.
There's a wonderful walking track that circles this lake (from memory, around 7km) and as if the views across the lake aren't enough, there are some simply lovely botanic gardens, the Robert Clark Conservatory and a few other surprises. I love this track. And if you have the right day for it, the lake is gorgeous at dusk.
The place where you can get connected with the nature sounds and enjoy with your love ones. I really like this lake. The wildlife and surrounding is fantastic. And yeah, Don't Forget the Dawn and Sunset its amazing.

A beautifully maintained and peaceful spot! Ballarat Botanical Gardens is nicely arranged and was already showing signs of vibrant life as it gets ready for the spring bloom. The avenue of former Prime Ministers' statues adds a historical touch. Plenty of black swans and coots from the nearby lake add to the charm. Great for a relaxed, scenic walk. 🌿🦢🌼
We spent the whole day here and had so much fun. Such a beautiful spot. And the kids enjoyed it too. We made a competition about how many statues we could find.

Absolutely stunning! The Ballarat Botanical Gardens are a true gem. Strolling along Lake Wendouree with the gardens on one side and the water on the other is pure serenity. The Prime Ministers Avenue is a unique and fascinating walk through Australian political history—each bronze bust is beautifully crafted and adds a thoughtful touch to the experience.
The highlight for me was the Conservatory. It's a vibrant burst of colour and fragrance, with seasonal floral displays that are always changing and always spectacular. Whether you're a local or just visiting Ballarat, this place is a must-see. Peaceful, educational, and beautifully maintained—5 stars without hesitation!
A very nicely set out Botanical Gardens. Well maintained. There is a lake nearby as well as a tourist tram. The Avenue of the Former Prime Ministers Statues along the main path in the gardens was interesting to see. It is a peaceful place to have a walk through or to sit and rest. Well worth a look to see.

This place is really worth a look. Aside from the well reviewed food (which we didn't have) the station has been beautifully restored - hard to believe it only cost $1.6 million - probably would cost that much for a feasibility study in Melbourne and the detail is fantastic.

Grand old building. History laid on.
After receiving state funding from Heritage Victoria the magnificent Maryborough Station underwent a 4‐year three-stage restoration of the façade, the slate roof and clock tower and glazed lantern covering the main carriageway platform completed in 2012. It is a tribute to the Victorian Railways, Architectural Works Department completed in 1890 as an outstanding example to the school of Victorian railway architecture developing a regional rather than national or international modern style. It is one of the finest examples in the country of Queen-Anne architecture which displays many hallmarks of the Anglo‐Dutch style which is enlivened at the roofline with gables and an asymmetrically placed clock tower.
During the 1970’s much of the original facade ornamentation, the orbs, pedestals and ball-caps and rendered octagonal chimney crowns were sadly removed. These were carefully re-cast and reinstated as part of the restoration programme. The exterior was re-rendered using Adelaide ‘Brightonlite’ yellow-ocher oxide cement render. The residents of Maryborough were delighted with the result and applauded its face-lift and remarked “this is how it was meant to be” and how they could remember the way the station looked originally.
An outstanding feature of Maryborough Station is its long platform covered by a continuous glazed lantern at the apex. This is said to be the longest single platform outside the Melbourne region and measures 1010 meters including the rail motor sidings. Today, Maryborough Station operates an art gallery emporium, a fully licensed restaurant in the grand dining hall (thanks Lloyd) and VLine post and freight services for passenger and goods trains.
