Warden Head Lighthouse, located in Ulladulla, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean from Jervis Bay to Bawley Point. It is a popular spot for whale watching during migration season and provides ample opportunities for stunning photography. This Victorian-inspired lighthouse, built in 1873 and standing at twelve meters tall, is one of only two remaining iron wrought lighthouses in New South Wales.
I was Pleasantly surprised to visit this beautiful location, where you can see the whole wide Pacific ocean ahead and if you are lucky some penguins (which I saw) and may be an astray whale. Beautiful location and quite photogenic. I had one concern that place was lonely and there was no security cameras on the head or on the road where there was no people movement. I remained scared all the time because of a person in a strange outfit.
Masood R — Google review
Built of iron wrought plates with a Victorian inspired design, the Warden Head light house stood twelve metres tall and is actually 1 of only 2 currently existing iron wrought lighthouses in NSW. If you're interested the other is the Wollongong Breakwater Lighthouse. A bit of history, the lighthouse first erected in 1873 but was first situated at Ulladulla Breakwater to guard the entrance of the Port before it was later moved to its current location in 1879 due to increased ships getting lost. For those looking for a bit of adventure, you can park your car at BUMMIE BAY (excellent surfing location) and take a short walk through the Coome Nujunga aboriginal inspired walking trail. Along the way there are plenty of plants, insects and bird life to see. Once you reach the lighthouse, there are a few maze like small tracks to take which will take you to the look outs and if you were as lucky as I was, you might see wales and dolphins swimming about. We also saw a dead baby snake (picture below) on the road so be very careful. On a side note, there's a nice brick wall near THE Boomie Bay car park entrance perfect for selfie lovers - Apollo my dog loved it. Hehe.. Both locations are both human and dog friendly! Yay! Theres a foot ball field with public toilets about 10mins walk to Boomie Bay which is an additional 15mins walk to the lighthouse! Anyone fit at heart: Park at Brodie Park Geological Time Walk. 103 North St, Ulladulla NSW 2539 and walk/run up to the lighthouse but stay hydrated. Was a good 45-60mins walk with 2 small tiny pomeranians. Was worth the adventure! 🐕😁🐕🥳
Alex N — Google review
You can drive right up to the light house and viewing platform so no excuses for not doing a drive by. From all the information boards I guess this is a Good place for whale watching, but wrong time of year now. They could have added some info on the light house itself. Missed opportunity. This is a good place to park and go for a walk in the reserve.
Paul T — Google review
Nice views overlooking the ocean. In the right there's also a small walk down to a another lookout. Has some picknick places and a small carpark
Rob B — Google review
Beautiful views, road was closed due to lighthouse under repair so a 500 mt walk. Well worth the look. Cars only in nearby park area.

Cupitt's Estate

Cupitt's Estate, located outside Ulladulla, is a family-operated boutique winery offering a range of experiences. The estate features a vineyard where minimal-intervention winemaking techniques are employed to craft wines from estate-grown grapes as well as sourced ones. Additionally, the property houses a popular restaurant with scenic views over the vines and an on-site fromagerie where artisanal cheeses are made.
We have visited Cupitt's Winery previously for a day visit and enjoyed the food, wine and spectacular views over the countryside. With a birthday celebration coming up we decided to take advantage of a food and stay package - what a great choice! Our meal was fabulous and our accommodation could not be faulted. A very well planned villa with all the comforts one looks forward to! Loved the layout, with a very modern kitchen and bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The beautiful breakfast hamper was delightful! Well done - the attention to detail was marvellous!
Yvonne H — Google review
Very friendly welcome by staff, the wine tasting was excellent and Chris? (Lovely lady), was extremely knowledgeable and explained each wine. The rooms were clean, tidy and lovely to stay in. The restaurant dinner was superb, one of the best steaks I have had. Special mention to Emma who was our lovely server for the evening. I highly recommend staying and we will definitely be back. A great place for a special occasion.
Marian B — Google review
What a beautiful slice of paradise. We stayed 2 nights in a villa. So well done. Modern, clean, great views over the countryside, everything you could ask for. All staff were friendly and made you feel very welcome. The restaurant was also great. Open for lunch with a good variety of food to choose from. Wine is superb.
Rosalind C — Google review
Cupitt’s Estate is such a lovely place to visit; the service is friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are quite casual and reasonable, especially for the outdoor restaurant area. The view over the vineyard and countryside is absolutely phenomenal; perfect for photos and a relaxing afternoon. They also offer wine tastings and have a great selection available for purchase, which makes the experience even better. The grape gardens are beautiful and make for a nice walk or photo spot before or after your meal. While the outdoor menu is a bit limited compared to the more formal indoor dining, everything we tried was fresh and well-prepared. Overall, it’s a must-visit if you’re in the area; a great balance of good food, great wine, and amazing scenery!

We celebrated our 38th Wedding Anniversary for lunch. It was perfect. Our lovely English waitress wished us a Happy Anniversary & suggested oysters, wine etc to start. We decided on some shared plates including the divine home made bread to soak up all the sauces. Our wine & coffees were great! The view & atmosphere were also just lovely. 10/10!!!!
Leanne H — Google review
We had a great 2 night stay at one of the villas and were able to take advantage of their spring getaway package which included a complimentary 2 course lunch. The accommodation was clean, relaxing, and comfortable. We really enjoyed our lunch at the restaurant, with the highlights being the Yamba prawns and Hawkesbury Sommerland chicken. Highly recommend staying or dining here if you're in the area to celebrate a special occasion.
Michelle K — Google review
Unfortunately, they no longer do the set menu for 2 people, although not mentioned online; and we were further disappointed when the table next to us was offered a set menu with wine parings (on a voucher - we understand, just upsetting). We had a few drinks and snacks on the balcony before which was lovely, the beer and aperol were delish, but the wine flight was BWS appropriate at best. A “Vinyard” that promotes creativity and sustainability but uses bought, mass produced grapes? A shame. Service was wonderful though, thank you team.
Jessica S — Google review
We were there with a large group on Sunday. Exceptional food & service. Great experience. Special thanks to Ella & the chef for going the extra mile organising a extra bowl of the triple fried potatoes for our table after the first lot just vanished. Great location, next time we will stay there.

Went pick by berries for the first time this season and it didn’t disappoint. Still amazing berries, great atmosphere and friendly staff! We had the ice cream after, pancakes and the vegetarian laksa which was amazing (forgot to take a photo before eating) 🤤 Stopped off at shallow crossing for a swim after. Great day out!

Such a cute farm! Fantastic mixed berry ice cream with great doggy company!! Great tour while we visited too!

Not the most enjoyable drive for 2WD but we made it there eventually and 100% no regrets! Super friendly hosts and doggy, loved the ice cream 🍦

Highly recommend if your around the bay when in self pick season. Great fun for kids, and the blue berry ice cream was refreshing and yummy 🤤 Staff at the entree was super friendly and knowledgeable about the farm , she explained all the information we need before we start our self pick section. Would definitely comeback next year!

Saw a sign & randomly visited without knowing what we were in for. The farm is great fun for the kids & blueberries are delicious, staff are super helpful & nice. The roads to the Farm are unsealed so it's all a bit of an adventure. The highlight of it is the icecream made with fresh blueberries! So yummy & a great refreshed after picking.

A must go, easy stop if your around Bateman's bay fourth time now 🤙Great for the Family, its a fair dirt road in you could ride or drive but it's a bit off a walk. Brilliant icecreem, blueberries and strawberrie icecreem a must have and try. Its a great experience for kids and adults. Any car can get in but in the rain enter from the north side as the river crossingwill be up. Since the bushfire 2019 this Small business has survived being surrounded by fire. It's come back strong and put money into a new kitchen and large deak area, well done
Stefan J — Google review
Lovely place to spend some time with the family. Ample blueberries to pick and amazing berry ice cream to eat. It’s a dirt road in so make sure your car is up to it but it adds to the fun. Our little one loved roaming around and picking berries.

Great farm to visit. A WARNING to those that the road leading to the farm is a unsealed road for a about 20mins each way, but is well worth the visit and is a must try. Great to support local farmers and the blueberry icecream is definitely a one of a kind😍👌🏾

Local history 101 with relevant artefacts and stories like the first NSW Royal Commission into bushranger hotspot in Braidwood. Kids loved how accessible and tactile memorabilia was.
Benjamin B — Google review
Only open Fridays and Saturdays 11-2pm. Well worth a look. If you're interested in bushranging history, they have the 2nd most prized relic after the Kelly armour on display. The Araluen gold coach, whose valiant team beat off the Clarke Gang, and allegedly Ben Hall and Johnny Gilbert were also there. - - - - - Free entry and they survive by generous donations.
Annette B — Google review
Admission by donation. This place was frozen in time. The two storey building displays artifact of the town. Don't miss the second floor.
Dominic T — Google review
Like most Museums full of interesting displays that have made an actual physical improvement to Australia rather than ," feel good" ostentatious sops. People running it are short on help I suspect. Lots of work that could be done.
Will I — Google review
The Museum, an old hotel, is being renovated but has no central heating yet. It is open Fridays to Sundays incl. from eleven to three. Free, but donations welcome. Visitors often are researching family history, and always find something . The machine shed is a treasure, as are the old kitchen and dairy shed. There is also a police lock up. Pretty garden.
Karis S — Google review
There was lots of things to see. Lots of places where you found yourself exploring and thinking of the past and others would just pass through. Then you found them them pondering over something that interested them. I found the reconstructed jail interesting. I wondered how many people had been squashed in there. Probably built with no nails... Pub next door for a meal and drink.

Nestled within 8 acres of lush native bush, Birdland Animal Park is a delightful haven for families and wildlife enthusiasts alike. This charming park offers an array of experiences, from meeting adorable animals like Bangles the baby wombat to engaging with friendly kangaroos and even stroking a snake! Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls through the grounds while being serenaded by various birdsong. The park features a playground, picnic areas, and a train ride that adds to the fun.
Had such a great time here! Went for a weekend trip to Bateman's Bay. Tossing up between this place and Mogo Zoo. Ended up going here due to all the Australian natives. I'm really glad I did. There were only 2 other groups when I went (mid March) so I was able to avoid other people entirely. Sitting on the ground and hand feeding the wallabies, surrounded by beautiful nature and a variety of different birdsong, was just fantastic and made me really happy. I'd go here again in a heartbeat!
Maddy R — Google review
I used to love going to Birdland, but moved interstate & hadn't been in around 8 years. The whole place is extremely run down unfortunately. I went this time for the wombats as they are usually awake & the orphans sometimes play which is awesome to see. The orphan wombat was asleep. The resident wombat was eating though. They definitely need to improve the website & use social media. It looks like a lot of maintenance needs to be done, but if the effort was put in, I'm sure it would make a comeback.
Tara C — Google review
AMAZING Place! Seemingly small zoo in the middle of Batesman Bay but it surprised us with interesting animals and even opportunities to feed the kangaroos! Generally love the fact that there are good chances to take great pictures too!
Javier T — Google review
Great little animal park. Great variety of Australian mammals and marsupials and birds plus other animals. Prices are pretty reasonable and you are also able to feed a majority of the animals for a small additional cost. Pretty quiet during the week so probably the best time to go. Also has a small gift shop.
Steve O — Google review
Happy to have gone. Amazing to see all the beautiful Peacocks running around and fluffing their butts and spanning those gorgeous feathers. So many different species, I actually liked the fact that it was rainforesty like walking through the trails. We spent 2 hours there and enjoyed it immensely. Very surprised at how big it was, you would not know from the road. Pricey but worth it to keep the family and the animals thriving and surviving considering all that has been thrown at them the past couple of years. Friendly and walked away feeling good.
MELANIE S — Google review
Not really sure where to start. We visited during school holidays. My husband and I brought our 2 kids, after seeing on the website they did train rides, as our youngest is obsessed with trains. There is a sign out front advertising the rides. It’s also on their website. But when we got there, AFTER we paid, the lady told us the train doesn’t work, but we could sit on it. PLEASE STOP ADVERTISING THAT YOU DO TRAIN RIDES. It’s a major attraction for families, and it’s a rip off when you take their money then tell them it’s not operational.Apparently it’s been out of action for years. So, if you can read and reply to reveiws, you can update that info on your website so you’re not misinforming people. The first thing you notice is the park looks very run down and neglected. The sitting/bbq area has a filthy bbq, cracked plastic chairs, and not clean at all. It looks like the maintenance person has just given up. There’s a lot of enclosures with nothing but garden waste in them. There’s wooden slat little bridges that are broken to the point of safety hazard. It’s just sad. The place has so much potential. And considering the amount they charge, it’s very over priced and underwhelming. The ostrich’s were cool, and the kangaroo’s. And there’s a play area for the kids. But that’s about all that’s positive. No staff around the grounds either. After seeing them blame the state of the grounds on “strong winds” in previous negative reviews,it’s just clear they’re making excuses and just can’t be bothered with the upkeep. Won’t be recommending it to anyone. Really disappointed.
Brooke M — Google review
Pleasantly surprised with this place. Don’t know what other reviews were on about did they expect Jurassic park style enclosures? It’s a locally run wildlife park with friendly staff. The paths were easy enough to go around even with a cheapo $20 stroller. Easily can spend a couple of hours there.
J T — Google review
This whole place is very run down. The animal enclosures need a lot of maintenance. Animals look unhappy. not.much grass in enclosures. No maps are provided so you wander aimlessly through the park. The paths are uneven and tree stumps popping up all over the place making it very hard to push the pram. A lot of the paths are covered in overgrown bushes. There is a miniature train ride which is advertised on the website and on the front fence however after we paid for our tickets we were told it no longer works. VERY DISAPPOINTING. The enclosures lack information on the animals inside. Dont waste your money, this place is not worth it.

A beautiful place to walk around taking in the plants and views. A pleasant surprise to find out it was free to enter. Walking shoes are needed with some slopes, steps, dirt tracks to contend with.

We visited on a Wednesday, the cafe was full of patrons however only a handful of people wandering along the many tracks. We completed the following tracks Deep Creek, forestry, Arboretum & Aboriginal heritage walks. All were easy in nature & we enjoyed them. Some interactive things along the way. The playground, BBQ & picnic facilities were amazing. My husband ordered a cappuccino from the restaurant & said it was very tasty & nice. Clean & modern amenities. Would recommend a visit.

A specialised botanic garden at Batemans Bay that specialises in local flora and fauna. It's popular with tourists and locals. Advisable to get a volunteer guide to show you around as they are experts with the plants. Several walking tracks available depending on your interests and time available. Some tracks are easily accessible and can be completed within an hour. Plenty of free parking available. Lovely amenities building housing meeting rooms, cafe, toilets and a wonderful gift shop. A nursery with seedlings of plants here is available for purchase.

Mogo Wildlife Park, formerly known as Mogo Zoo, is a must-visit destination just a short drive from Mogo Village and south of Batemans Bay. The park offers spacious exhibits set amidst the lush Mogo State Forest, providing an opportunity to encounter numerous exotic and endangered animals. Visitors can enjoy feeding some of the animals and marvel at the variety on display, including lions and lion cubs.
Mogo is a wonderful family, couple or lone experience. I have been going to Mogo for over twenty years now and love it every time. Mogo offers a simple and easy path to follow with animal feeding experiences along the way. The animal talks are informative personal as you learn their names, traits and how they behave with each other. The Cafe and gift shop are also a wonderful experience. Staff are amazing.
Jannine F — Google review
Quaint little Zoo. Kids loved the adventure stamp experience, with the showbag at the end (paid experience) however there is a free animal passport that the kids can stamp. It is quite uneven in places, so any mobility issues will be a bit difficult to manage in places. There is clear signage in these places to make sure you are aware. Animals are close and very active in the morning. Take a picnic and set up near the primate Island, it's such a nice area! You don't need long there, 1-2hrs Max. Plenty of animal encounters available to purchase as well.
Caitlyn M — Google review
This private zoo is in a compact, mostly shady setting. It's open everyday and is not crowded usually. Being a private facility, entry fees are higher. Fair number of animals are around but a number of them are behind glass or netting making photography difficult. There is a loop circuit around the zoo for walking so you don't miss anything. Toilets available. Mostly level to low gradient walking route. Plenty of free parking outside.

Mogo Wildlife Park is an incredible experience from start to finish. The park is beautifully maintained, and you can really tell the animals are well cared for. What sets it apart is how close you can get to the animals, it feels personal and engaging, not just like viewing from a distance. The variety of animals is amazing – from majestic lions and gorillas to playful meerkats and exotic reptiles. The keepers are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about conservation, always happy to answer questions and share insights about the animals. It’s a great place for families, animal lovers, or anyone looking to do something special. The park is easy to navigate, with plenty of shaded areas, clean facilities, and a café with decent options. Highly recommend adding Mogo Wildlife Park to your list, it’s not just a zoo, it’s an experience that stays with you.
Pradeep W — Google review
This zoo experience was one of the best. The best time to encounter with animals you will be in the early mornings. By afternoon, the animals are tired and settled, being less active. Lots of energetic monkey species, cat species and African animals. We visited this zoo during the winter with no public holidays active, so it was reasonably quiet and not crowded. Not to sugar-coat the entire activity- the Cafe food is okay for simplisticity, the wraps are small and misleading, the merch was incredibly overpriced even for most Zoos for poor quality items. Either way, the Park experience was lovely for its size and variety in animal species and encounters.
Andreas I — Google review
Great zoo. Easy access and plenty of parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We went around 1pm and it must have been feeding time. What an experience to see a tiger chowing down on a carcuss. And the Lions were putting on a show. Love the red pandas. Easy to walk around. Wonderful experience. Thanks Mogo Zoo😊

No amount of hype can ever do this fine establishment justice. Sister booked our first skydiving experience here for my bday present and best bday present ever! Brayden and the crew kept us informed and nerves calmed during the whole experience. I felt very safe and reassured it'll be a fun ride and ooooh boy was it!! Thanks team! Hope to see you soon.

Amazing Experience Learning to Skydive Solo! I had an absolutely incredible week at SkyOne Moruya learning to skydive solo and earning my A License! Bindi and Michael were fantastic instructors — patient, knowledgeable, and so encouraging. Their passion for the sport and dedication to safety made the whole experience both exciting and reassuring. The atmosphere at SkyOne is welcoming and supportive, and staying there for the week made it feel like being part of a little skydiving family. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to learn, and I left not only with my A License but with amazing memories as well. I can’t recommend SkyOne Moruya highly enough — if you’re thinking about learning to skydive, this is the place to do it!

Had such a good experience today with Dan (absolute legend!) and the team at Moruya Heads, I’m considering doing a nearly 7hr round trip to finally start my AFF journey with them! I was taught about freefall and canopy control and had the best time ever, thanks guys, see you soon 🫶🏻

I am terrified of heights so this tandem dive was a gift aimed at ‘helping’ me overcome that fear. It was obvious to all that I was extremely nervous and scared, but the team did a fantastic job in ensuring I had all the information I needed to make me feel safe and comfortable. Hats off and thank you to Will for making this a much better than expected experience. The views were amazing and I’m glad I went through with it!

Australia Rock

Sights & Landmarks
Lookouts
Tourists come to snap shots of this Australia–shaped rock formation in a scenic, oceanfront setting.
It actually looks like the Australian Map. You can cross the rock from the left corner when it’s low tide. Few more walks through the rock-walk, you will reach to the Seals Rock where you will encounter lazy seals sleeping or lying on the rocks. They look so cute though. But do not feed them and make that area dirty. Please keep the area clean.
Nayemul I — Google review
Such a beautiful and unique natural landmark! The rock really does look like the shape of Australia 🇦🇺It is incredible to see in person. Perfect spot for photos, especially during sunrise or sunset when the light hits the ocean. The coastal walk around the area is peaceful, and you can often spot seals nearby too. Definitely worth a stop if you’re visiting Narooma!
AERIN — Google review
Sunrise here put me in a state of trance. Absolutely tranquil sights and stunning views, the rock is really cool and unique - can see why it’s got the name. Strongly recommend coming here during sunrise for breath taking start to the day.
Aqtp — Google review
A great spot to stop for a little break or if you're wanting a short scenic walk. There is parking right at the top near a lookout, then you can take the stairs down to Australia rock. You can also park at the washrooms and walk up the hill to get to the rock and lookout.
Meredith M — Google review
It's a great spot for photography. The rock itself is amazing, naturally shaped like the map. Beautiful landscapes with cute seal.
Sanisha M — Google review
Breathtaking views and fresh, invigorating air make this a truly refreshing place to visit. Watching seals play is an absolute delight, and the stunning Bar Rock formations are a must-see. The unique rock formations are simply amazing. Highly recommended!
Tanzir A — Google review
Came here to see seals and it was pretty cool to see. Came here early in the morning and under roughly 15-20 seals. Most of them were kind of sleeping on the rocks some of them were swimming. A few of them were far up enough on the rocks that they felt pretty close to you. A highly recommended stop if you’re around here.
Allen L — Google review
Australian Rock is named by the aperture in the rock, which resembles Map of Australia. It's a good and beautiful place to visit. Seaside view is fascinating. Seals are also found on the rocks, mostly sleeping when i reached. One much take precaution, not to disturb them. They may be dangerous. Especially take care of kids. Parking area is very small. No tickets are required to visit this site

Barunguba, also known as Montague Island, is a nature reserve located nine kilometers off the coast of Narooma. It is often referred to as the East Coast's Galapagos Islands due to its abundant wildlife, including seal colonies and numerous bird species. Accessible only by boat, visitors can book a daily charter to explore this magnificent natural wonder. The island offers opportunities for scuba diving and snorkeling with seals in its pristine waters.
Great tour of Montague Island (Barunguba). Great views from the lighthouse. We swam with the seals before our Island tour booked though Narooma Charters.

It it really an undiscovered place! (well, compare to Sydney city I would say that) I went 21-23 Feb and didn't see much people around. With less tourists comes cleaner water and a more natural environment. The snorkeling with seals tour is more than amazing and I highly recommend all the adventurers to try that.
YouHui X — Google review
The island across from Narooma is small and does have limited accommodation upon it. We visited as part of a tour but did not utilise the accommodation. The volunteer guide - "Debbie" was very informative and helpful and helped us around the island. Birds galore nesting upon the island were extremely noisy and made it hard to hear each other at times. In saying that it was lovely to see such an ecological system in play. Great history involved in the island. Glad to have visited.

My first time to visit a Bird Territory. The island keeper Peter is a nice guy. Snorkeling with seals is the best part of our holiday.

Montague Island is a heritage place, and must visit place if you are in Narooma. It has a great history and if you go in breeding season then you will find lots of nesting birds on the island. An absolutely BEAUTIFUL little town! Loved all the shops and everyone I spoke to were extremely kind. I will definitely be coming back!
TsetsTransport — Google review
Visiting Central Tilba felt like stepping into a beautifully preserved piece of Australia’s past. Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the New South Wales South Coast, this charming heritage village offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty that is truly captivating. The town’s perfectly restored 19th-century buildings line the main street, giving it a timeless atmosphere. Every shop, café, and gallery is full of character, showcasing local craftsmanship, regional produce, and a deep sense of community pride. Walking through Central Tilba feels both authentic and personal — not overly commercialized, but instead focused on genuine, quality experiences. One of the true highlights was how seamlessly nature and history blend here. Surrounded by lush farmland and the majestic presence of Gulaga (Mount Dromedary) in the distance, the setting is simply stunning. Whether browsing handmade goods, sampling local cheeses, or simply enjoying a coffee on a verandah overlooking the hills, every moment feels relaxed and special. The locals are incredibly welcoming and eager to share stories about the area's heritage and significance to the indigenous Yuin people. This deeper cultural connection gives Tilba an added richness beyond its beautiful façade. If you are looking for an authentic, peaceful escape with a strong sense of identity and tradition, Central Tilba is a destination you simply must experience. It is a rare treasure that leaves you both refreshed and inspired

A quaint little historical village in the hills with beautiful valley views. All sorts of bric-a-brac, Devonshire tea Cafes, a lovely old Pub, Cheese Factory, old lolly shop plus plenty of country gift shops. We went for a casual stroll down the street and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great for photography too. If in the area, do drive down the road to the Tilba Winery and Ale House. Another great place to visit.

Pretty place. Second visit. Nice old buildings. Beautiful countryside and mountain scenery. Great little stores to browse. Tearooms, bakery, gifts, clothes, cheese, lollies, icecream, B & B,etc. Parking at each end of town. Playground in the middle near the hall for kids.

This place is just amazing, 2 minutes off the highway you'll find this absolute gem of a place. Small enough that you can just stop in for quick look, and a bite to eat at the bakery, cafe's or cheese factory, but memories that will last a lifetime.

Located at the northern end of Bermagui, Camel Rock is a stunning ancient rock formation that resembles a camel. The beach is just a 10-minute drive from Bermagui's town and can be accessed via a narrow road off Wallaga Lake Rd. The area also features Horsehead Rock, Blue Pool, and whale sightings along the coast. A 1.5-kilometer walking track leads to Murunna Point with elevated lookouts offering panoramic ocean views and significant Aboriginal heritage.
Easy to find, plenty of parking and well signed before we headed up the track. A beautiful scenic walk with a couple of lookouts along the way to the horse head rock (700m one way), elevated above the sea and even had eagles flying around us. A great walk and good spot to stop and enjoy a rest! There was lifeguards on the beach for a swim too.

Bermagui Blue Pool is a stunning ocean pool located below the rocky cliff face off Blue Point in Bermagui, New South Wales. It's a popular spot for visitors to cool off from the summer heat and offers spectacular whale watching from August to November. The site is known for its easy navigation, breathtaking views, and excellent amenities. Visitors can enjoy observing various sea life and even spot seals playing along the rocky coast.
Breathtaking scenery! We were able to spot a few seals on the nearby rocks! There are two pools with cold water; one deeper than the other. There are showers with cold water nearby and a toilet with showers up the stairs. Great place for both swimming and photography!
Zofia M — Google review
Stunning, both for its rugged beauty but also for the creativity and engineering of our early citizens. I could almost imagine the well-dressed ladies and gentlemen of the old times watching the swimming races on a sunny afternoon. We also were lucky enough to see a group of fur seals hunting in the surf of the Cove next to the blue pool. There are steep steps to get down to the pools which made it some what odd to see two wheel chair ramps all the way down at the bottom of the stairs. Not sure what the thug prices read behind building them but hey whatever. Well worth a look for sure.
Andrew P — Google review
A must see beauty when at Bermagui. Watch the seals, the waves, swim in the pool protected from waves. Parking is available even if you may need to wait a few moments for a car to leave.

Nice drive. Good shower and toilet facilities. Very clean. However, the water is quite stagnant, so there's plenty of plants growing on the rocky floors of the pool. You may spot seals in the nearby rocks. No beach to swim.

Wonderful experience, it's a must try. It's an amazing rock pool, on the edge of the cliff next to Ocean. The experience of the pool next to an ocean was really good. I have never been to a place like this before, so i was extremely happy. Once you reach the parking, there are stairs to go down to the pool. The pool is pretty big, and the depth is quite good. There are so many small crabs, snails, and mussels nearby of the pool rocks. There's a nice washroom 🚻 facility available with a shower hose.

Biamanga Cultural area

Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
Beautiful place. Totally worth the drive. Be warned that it is dirt roads the entire way from either Tathra or from Bega. The roads seem to be graded on a regular basis but you must be a confident driver because the roads can be a little rough in some sections and not many cars when I went so you may be waiting a while for someone to come along or walking a long distance for help. Enter from Bega for a shorter drive into the cultural area. Breathtaking views of the Bega valley from up here on some parts of the drive. The waterfall is so peaceful. The tracks are well maintained the last 500m is very steep. Good information boards as well to tell of the significance of the area. Travel off peak for the best experience.
Annette “ — Google review
The road to the area is in need of maintenance. Lots of fallen branches across the road. The area itself is well maintained, with a boardwalk leading to a viewing platform over the falls. As a cultural area, the water is sacred, so you need to stay on the formed paths and admire the serenity of the area from a distance. Large car park, a few picnic tables, bbq, toilets and information display. Some stairs, yet all areas are accessible by wheelchair friendly pathways.
Richard H — Google review
Short drive from Bega. Definitely recommend SUV or 4WD. Very short walk from the parking. Beautiful place to spend a day with family. Ample parking place, public toilets, sitting area, and BBq hot plates. As the place is of great cultural significance, the Aboriginal owners request no to swim in the falls. "As per sign posted"

Beautiful place toilet & electric bbq to use .Dirt road in but smooth trip for 2 wheel drive .wheel chair access.Very peaceful. Was open on Sunday 4/12/2023
Leanne P — Google review
Long dirt road from Dr George Mtn which was fairly bumpy. After seeing photos from previous reviews with people swimming in the beautiful waterfall, I was expecting to be able to at least get close, but the steps leading down were all blocked off and overgrown. There were signs saying no to swim out of respect to the aboriginal people. I was disappointed and confused. How does it show any disrespect if someone wants to swim in a natural waterfall? It isn't used for any sacred aboriginal ceremonies now, and appears to not be used by anyone for any reason at all . It is such a waste of an amazing piece of nature. But as a white person, I'm not allowed to even touch the water?
Max P — Google review
A short walk to a beautiful gorge and waterhole on the south coast, with Aboriginal significance. Due to changed road access, it is quite a long drive on unsealed roads to get here, but worth the drive for a very beautiful and well sign-posted waterhole and falls. Picnic and BBQ facilities available. Note - there is signage that states the local Yuin people request people don't swim here. On our visit this was largely ignored, with many people in the water and jumping off the rocks. More info: hikingtheworld.blog/2016/01/17/mumbulla-falls/
Oliver D — Google review
A great way to take advantage of the natural splendour of Biamanga National Park is by stopping at Biamanga Cultural area during your road trip. You'll find a convenient boardwalk – perfect for walking with children – that leads to a scenic lookout where you can see water cascading through a dramatic gorge and granite boulder field. This is part of the legacy of an ancient shield volcano in the area, and the story of its Aboriginal heritage is conveyed through interpretive signs and an information shelter here. Don't forget your camera – the forest setting is beautiful, with eastern water dragons sunning themselves on rocks and chefs cap correa bursting with lemon and green colours. Birdwatching is superb as well – with azure kingfishers and blue wrens frequenting the area, it’s almost as though they're putting on a show for visitors. After your stroll, unpack a lunch at one of the picnic tables or fire up the free gas barbecues for a relaxing afternoon with family and friends beneath the eucalypts. This is a great picnic spot, shady and serene, surrounded by the calming sounds of the rushing creek. The Aboriginal custodians request that visitors, through respect, do not swim in the Mumbulla Falls area - a site that is sacred to the Yuin People.
Gordon M — Google review
If you have been beforehand and visit now you will be most disappointed. The falls are now closed to swimming, it's a heritage site now and the road is just awful due to lack of visitors. What was once a busy water pool and slide now seems rarely visited.

National parks have a no dog rule to protect the wildlife, there were cute swamp wallabies feeding all around the campsite. No playground, lots of beaches to explore, drop toilets that were clean with toilet paper. Always a bonus. The peace and quiet, large campsites. I really enjoyed it.

Located not far from Bega on the far south coast of NSW, Mimosa Rocks National Park offers a hide and paradisiac camping holiday. The park takes its name from the Paddle Steamer Mimosa that wrecked in 1863 after running onto rocks at the northern end of the park. The rocks of Mimosa have distinctive castle-like features that are the result of intricate folds, faults and intrusions occurring in the rock. For a view you’ll never forget, head to Bunga Head for sunrise, the rocks look magnificent backed by the pinks of the early morning sky.

Here's what you can expect: *Highlights:* - *Rich History*: The centre features a fascinating museum with exhibits on the dairy industry and cheese-making process, including old machinery and equipment. - *Cheese Tastings*: Sample a variety of premium Bega cheeses, including some exclusive to the centre, like the Heritage Vintage Reserve Cheddar. - *Craft Shop*: Discover unique gifts and souvenirs, including locally produced crafts and Bega-themed merchandise. - *Cafe*: Enjoy freshly baked cakes, scones, and toasted cheese sandwiches, along with good coffee and tea. *Improvements Needed:* - *Limited Factory Tours*: Unfortunately, factory tours are no longer available, which might disappoint some visitors. *Overall Experience:* The Bega Cheese Heritage Centre is worth visiting for its historical significance, cheese tastings, and unique gifts. While it may not be perfect, it's a great spot to stop and relax while exploring the Sapphire Coast. With some improvements, it could become an even more enjoyable experience. *Tips:* - *Visit Early*: Arrive early to avoid crowds, especially during peak times. - *Try the Heritage Premium Cheese Plate*: It's a treat for cheese lovers. - *Explore the Craft Shop*: Find unique gifts and souvenirs. - *Check the Website*: Before visiting, check the centre's website for up-to-date information on hours and activities ¹.

For something thats free to enter it's a well kept museum of equipment used to milk cows, pasteurize and of course various cheese production plus an actual 1800's cheese hut/shed. Please do support the local craft store as most items are hand crafted in Began. The big bonus the cafe! Steak Pie was an 8/10 (fantastic crunchy flaky pastry, nice beef steak filling with good thick gravy which didn't destroy the pastry when U bite into it).

It was a nice drop by whenever one pass by Bega. We ordered the cheese platter, a mocha and something that looks like beef burger. The burger and mocha were really good. The cheese platter was great too, but unfortunately both of us struggle to finish it. It will be best to enjoy with 3-4 people. They also do have cheese tasting at one corner too.

A very informative & interesting place to visit. So much to look at & read, the food was very delicious staff friendly. A nice little gift shop inside as well

Get you cheese fix with a whole lot of Aussie history. Some delicious cheese plus other non cheese snacks. The museum upstairs is worth the visit. There is also a gift shop upstairs with lots of local wares.

Magic Mountain Merimbula is a family-friendly theme park offering a variety of attractions such as go-karts, tube slides, tree-climbing, and souvenir shops. The park features water slides, toboggans, and a mid-sized roller coaster suitable for young to early teenage children. Visitors can also explore the striking natural formation of orange and yellow sandstone at The Pinnacles or enjoy the picturesque Nethercote Falls in a lush forest setting.
So glad we went, doesn’t deserve the scathing reviews here. We went on a Saturday during school holidays and never had to wait more than a few minutes for rides. It’s small and easy to do everything in 3-5 hours. Probably better for younger kids as opposed to teenagers. Our son was 7 and the perfect age for most things. Our son had autism and struggles with sensory overload this place was nice and chill no loud music pumping at all the rides just very relaxed and laid back, perfect for us Food was terrible as to be expected but you can take a picnic in and go in and out with a wristband Found a park with a trailer no worries Cheaper to buy tickets online

Didn’t know such a place existed that’s only 3 hours from Canberra. A small nice place for kids to have fun and adults too. Highly recommended to visit. Lines to rides were short and staff were extremely nice especially the lady at the Kiosk. Thanks for making it a fun day.

🌟 Absolutely Worth It! 🌟 We spent a truly memorable day at Magic Mountain Merimbula with our family, and I can confidently say that it was worth every minute and every dollar. With two older kids and a lively two year-old in tow, we were thrilled to find something for everyone. From the moment we arrived, it was non-stop fun, laughter, and adventure. 🎢 While it was a bit of a letdown that the roller coaster was undergoing heavy maintenance, the sheer variety of attractions more than made up for it. In fact, there were more rides than I remembered from previous visits! The toboggans were a massive hit as we must’ve gone down at least 15 times, and each run was just as exciting as the last. We barely squeezed in the water slides because we were so caught up enjoying everything else! 💰 If you're wondering whether it's good value for money.. absolutely. Compared to a trip to the movies, which can easily set us back $150 for the whole family, Magic Mountain offered a full day of entertainment, thrills, and bonding for a similar price. It felt like a genuine investment in joy. 🍟 The staff were fantastic.. friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about creating a great experience. A special shoutout to the lovely lady who served us lunch with a smile and a generous sprinkle of chicken salt (a small touch that made a big impression!). And to the team at the Go Karts.. thank you for your patience and care with our kids, who couldn’t get enough of those rides - so many laughs here! 👥 One moment that really stood out was seeing one of the managers leading a team huddle at the end of the day. It was a simple gesture, but it spoke volumes about the culture and commitment behind the scenes. It’s clear they’re working hard to make Magic Mountain the best it can be. 📝 I’m writing this longer review because I’ve seen some negative ones that just don’t reflect our experience. This place is a gem—fun-filled, family-friendly, and run by people who genuinely care. If you're considering a visit, don’t hesitate. Magic Mountain Merimbula is a fantastic spot to make lasting memories.

Staff are friendly and amazing. Was disappointed half the rides couldn’t open due to the rain or repairs. They would benefit from more things to do like a jumping castle Or soft play for the younger kids they really can’t do anything there everything is for 130cm and up! More games would be great everything felt a bit outdated. Bringing back the tree tops would be amazing even if it was artificial metal poles. The owner needs to spend more money and bring it up to date and add better attractions to justify the $65 entry fee especially for the little kiddies. The place has a pretty bad reputation around Merimbula and I can understand why people want something great and practical for everyone in the family we enjoyed our day but got bored pretty quick after only being able to use the dodgem cars and Grand Prix cars and 2 slides.

Magic Mountain is as exciting as doing your tax. This place has maybe 3 things to do, a water slide (about as big as one you'd find in a backyard pool), go karts (basically just lawnmowers with steering wheels) and a toboggan ride which feels like a death trap, lasts about 20 seconds before being hoisted back to the top which is a 5 minute journey. I went because on their website they have photos of a half decent looking roller-coaster, which upon arrival I was told was out of order that day. Out of order seems like a bit of an understatement though, as when I passed by where it was meant to be it was just a pile of steele beams and tracks. Only positive this place has is that the staff are quite nice. So for a $138 entry fee (for two adult day passes) id say you'd be better off staying at home, taking some magic mushrooms and watching a roller-coaster video on your TV, that'll cost you about $60.

Magic Mountain Merimbula was lovely. Quiet enough that there were barely any wait times, but busy enough that everything was open. The kiosk/ cafe is a bit pricey but kinda expected. You are free to bring your own food and drink into the park though so no pressure to pay past the entry fee. Kids had a blast, plenty to do, and plenty of places to stop and rest, too. Would like to see more bins around the park, though honestly!

We had a VERY lovely time at Magic Mountain! We really appreciate ALL the rides & activities available for kids of all ages! The staff were all absolutely amazing, patient & kind! Thank you for taking the time to chat with our Son(s) & making it such a wonderful experience before our journey home! 😊 Can't wait to get back to have some more fun when the boys are a bit bigger & can go on ALL of the rides! 🤩
Shannon M — Google review
Pretty disappointing don't trust the website. What a waste of time and money. Went there today so many attractions were shut down or faulty. This place needs some serious reinvestment. Putt putt was run down, dodgem cars that your not aloud to bump each other. Rollercoaster has been removed, maze was ok just covered in spiders. Go carts were slow, smokey and faulty. Just go to the beach you'll save money and have more fun.

Potoroo Palace

Wildlife park
Nature & Parks
Nature sanctuary with a relaxed, hippie atmosphere showcasing native Australian animals.
A real gem on the Sapphire Coast. The animals are really well looked after. The kangaroos and emus are free roam so you can get up close to them. You can buy a bag of feed (available at the counter) to feed the kangaroos. I highly recommend a visit!

Potoroo Palace is such a beautiful, affordable outing for the whole family! You can really tell how much love and care goes into looking after the animals and their enclosures. Everything is so well kept, and the animals are clearly happy and healthy. It’s so refreshing to visit a place where profit isn’t the main focus. They truly love what they do, and it shows in every part of the experience. The little train ride for the kids was an absolute hit and made the day even more special. Such a wholesome, peaceful spot to explore and connect with nature. Highly recommend for families or anyone wanting a feel-good day out!

Potoro Palace – A Heartwarming Haven for Native Wildlife Potoro Palace is a truly special place — more than just a wildlife park, it’s a not-for-profit sanctuary where you can genuinely feel the love and care poured into protecting Australia’s native animals. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by open spaces where emus and kangaroos roamed freely. It was magical to walk among them, hand-feeding kangaroos and watching emus wander calmly nearby. There’s something so peaceful and grounding about being this close to animals in a space where they are clearly happy and well looked after. What makes Potoro Palace even more beautiful is its mission — your entry fee goes directly into the care and upkeep of the sanctuary and its residents. It’s not about commercial profit here; it’s about passion, education, and conservation. The staff were kind, knowledgeable, and clearly devoted to the animals’ wellbeing. This is the kind of experience that stays with you. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Potoro Palace is well worth the visit. It’s a place where you can connect with nature, support a great cause, and leave with a full heart.

There are visible signs of improvement at Potoroo Palace but there is still a way to go. The grounds and open spaces at PP are looking healthy and more cared for. The train which the little ones love is back in action. There are still vacant cages being "upgraded", which is disappointing. But those which are inhabited are looking much better. So in a nutshell The animals are healthy and well cared for and the grounds are a good place for a picnic. Suited to younger children.
Kathy C — Google review
It's a wonderful addition to the area. You can tell conservation is at the heart of Potoroo Palace. Definetly some more work to do but a very enjoyable stop with some wonderful animals.
EMS — Google review
The animals are friendly and tame, and the staff are nice and will explain stuff like how snakes shed their skin to you. I held a shingleback lizard, fed some emus, and patted a snake. It's relatively small, and you can see the animals up close. I would definitely recommend coming here.
Helen C — Google review
We had a wonderful time at this lovely sanctuary! The native animals are well cared for and in beautiful surroundings. The encounter and echidna talk were very interactive and a great experience. Also make sure to visit the café and gift shop!
Beatrice B — Google review
Great place for kids, has a bit of everything, for once over all the places we have been that says you can feed and interact with the kangaroos, this is the only one that we could do that. It is self funded and relies on volunteers for upkeep and donations for money to feed and house. All animals are rescued and unable to be re released. Place needs more TLC but is hard sure to no funding, so please visit and help the lovely owners to keep this place open, clean, medical, and feed. The animals are beautiful and deserve your money and donations and visits.

The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or simply enjoying coffee and cake while taking in the 180-degree ocean views of Merimbula Bay and breathtaking sunsets. Additionally, it features an aquarium to entertain kids. The venue is also popular for seaside weddings due to its spectacular location.
Great lunch today here at the wharf. We shared a dozen Kilpatricks and then tempura prawns. Both were cooked perfectly and nicely presented. Boathouse ambience was really cool with a great view over the wharf and water. Good wine list and menu selection options.

Love this place. It is my go to for birthdays and special meals with friends. Love it too just for a light treat or coffee while taking in the view. Hands down, the best view of anywhere in Merimbula 😍 I celebrated my birthday again her today and it was spectacular. The service was amazing and they made it a very special day for me and my guests. It always just feels good to dine here. And the view was the icing on the cake. Not to mention the cheesecake was amazing! I also love taking my son and visitors here for a treat and aquarium visit.

Highly recommend! I came here for my birthday tonight and I had such a special experience. The aquarium below was fun to check out and the seafood was top tier. We will definitely return next time we’re in town.

Took my son to the aquarium and he had a great time! The local sea life is just amazing. Some pretty cool creatures to see. We just happened to be there at feeding time (11:30am) which made the sea life even more active! Ian, the guide, had the kids enthralled and was quite funny!

Good selection of gluten free items including batter for fish, friendly service, aquarium is pricey and not as big as you get in the bigger tourist destination but fun for kids, but understandable its not cheap to operate

It is a beautiful view to sit down to while enjoying lovely food. We had a delicious brunch. Eggs your way with bacon and ciabatta was delicious. One order was for scrambled egg, and one was for fried. They both were cooked to our liking. The gin cured salmon with eggs and ciabatta was fantastic!! Kids loved their hot chocolate, and coffee and milkshake went down well, too. The scones were so good, freshly baked, the decadent chocolate cake was lovely, and the carrot cake was beautiful and moist. The prices were good too!! Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place and will be back.
Kylie M — Google review
Service and atmosphere are fine, but the food is certainly not worth the price point. Paid $95 for a ‘seafood platter for one’ that was mostly deep fried and came with a side of chips that wasn’t listed on the menu and I didn’t want anyway. The calamari was also covered in cinnamon for some reason. Completely disappointing experience, especially since there seems to be so much hype about this place.

I definitely have a soft spot for a well made hazy IPA. These guys make great beer, with the hazy a standout. The brewery has plenty of seating areas for a quiet drink, outside under a big umbrella was doggo friendly. Good selection of woodfired pizza as well. 👍👍👍👍🐾

What a great little find at the back of the Oaklands nursery. Complete with chocolate shop at the rear, this little brewery has great atmosphere and really friendly staff. They do wood fired pizzas in an outdoor pizza oven along with other snacks. A great spot to sit and enjoy some music, live or recorded. A short trip in from Merimbula.

With space out on the lawn, seating inside and out on the deck, you're not going to be short of options (but make sure you book just in case). We had meatlovers pizzas (2), pretzels/bretzels, and a 1/2 dozen of the Oysters, which was plenty for 4, topped off with a selection of the beers. This was a case of "Come for the beer, but stay for the food". Brewry food is often hit and miss, but not in this case. Great all round.

Could not go past the smell off the fresh wood fire pizza! They were delicious! The guy that served us in the bar and made our pizza was so down to earth and hospitable - very rare in hospitality these days! Was happy to have a chat and very welcoming!! Do yourself a favour and stop in! Little playground down the back for the kiddos to run and play as well!! Win win for everyone!

Eclectic mix of small shops and stalls. The Brewery had a large range of beers to sample. The double paddle hit the spot for us. A flavour for everybody's palate. The pizzas were cooked to perfection and oysters kilpatrick were some of the freshest we have ever eaten.

Amazing afternoon listening to a fabulous old style band, right up our alley. Loved it. Drinks pricey but atmosphere, service and entertainment outstanding. Courtesy bus to and from Merimbula. Couldn't ask for more

Great beer (I had a hazy and an IPA, my partner an apple and rhubarb cider), friendly staff and the wood fired pizzas were delicious. Couldn’t work out why it was so quiet on a Thursday arvo. Great spot, should’ve been heaving!

The brewery is fantastic. Ben & the gang made sure it was an experience we'll never forget. Hubby had pizza & I had oysters 3 ways. Natural, kilpatrick & Ben's amazing gunpowder oysters. Every mouthful was divine. We also had a caraff of a mouthwatering gin cocktail. If you're ever heading to Pambula, make sure to stop in. During the day there is a cafe, a plant nursery, a gift shop, an art shop, an ice-cream & chocolate shop & an animal feed store. There is also a London type double decker bus that's a hairdressing salon. There is so much to do, look at and experience here. Make sure you ask for Ben, he will take great care of you.
