From San Rafael, the canyon is about 1 hour drive away and can be visited without booking a tour. The best option is to have a car to drive in the canyon. The road is not paved but is passable cautiously. The best is to plan the day there with a picnic like many local people and to stop wherever you want. The canyon offers various incredible spot.

From San Raphael bus terminal take the public bus (250 pesos) to the last stop which requires you only to walk to canon Atel for 30min (mirador). I suggest to take the 7h20 am bus for great photos (see photos as lake acts like a nice mirror). At 12pm lots of people rafting and will create wave ripples (not as nice). route 1: Canon Atel mirador route 2: walk back to last stop and take the other road (bridge) route 3: walk back the same way from the bus route to view other touristic views and activities (the bus to return to san Raphael will be cheaper as you will walk 30min to an hr back). 150aprox see other comments i have for nearby areas.

Their fixed menu with a choice of 2 principals makes things easy for the restaurant, it dors not give you many choice. The hospitality of the staff was very good in the beginning. The antipasti were amazing, pasta could have been a bit better but ok. The main course was well below what I would expect to get when paying money to go eat in a bodega like this. We had both the fish and the ojo de bife and I was a bit worried as you can not specify how you like your meat cooked "It is a milanesa cooked at the chef's choice" It turned out to be a fried piece of dried ojo de bife, which I felt was not up to Argentian standards and a waste of a good piece of meat in my opinion. The first two sets of appetizers were delightful in their presentation and quality of taste. The fish with salad and potatoes with a side of ratatouille nicoise while delightful was maybe more then I anticipated. But by desert service I enjoyed the short espresso and the pionono and fruit. All in all an exquisite place with great personal service.

It was a very nice experience, while being quite a bit on the expensive side, they serve a lot of fine wine, but maybe not enough solids for big people 😀 Ps. Not saying that you can't, but maybe don't bring children (to any winery), as people may get rowdy after a bit of fine-wine-ing

And his energy is muy muy tranquilo in the best way. I’m not a big flesh person in general but the rib was EXQUISITE. Leo also brought us a little side of the pasta which was delectable as well. And the deserts were the icing on the proverbial cake. 10/10 for food, 20/10 for service. One more note against the host — she said she would let the restaurant know we were on a tight timeline (that she made tight, not us 🙄) and she didn’t. We let Leo know and he moved heaven and earth to get us our desserts and check in time to not be too late, but I *know* he would have timed us perfectly if she told him like she said she would. We tasted three wines and were given just two crackers with their olive oil. For 100 USD per person, it did not feel worth it, especially considering I visited other wineries in the area for half the price and enjoyed a much deeper, more engaging experience.
