Beautiful clean beach with plenty of space to squeeze in even when you arrive late. Gentle waves are ideal for kids to play. With February weather being so nice, I can't complain about anything. Renting tent for a day was 150$R and parking 20$R

O may not be the best to review it for I live here but, to me, it is the best beach in Ubatuba. North side for surfers, south for families ( I have 4 kids), you have kioskes with bathroom and in the center you can get away from them and enjoy a bit of nature without any noise bothering you. To sum up... The best place for you and your family to enjoy Ubatuba.

Nestled in the stunning coastal town of Ubatuba, the Ubatuba Aquarium is a delightful blend of indoor and outdoor experiences that showcases an impressive array of local marine life. Established by a passionate group of oceanographers in 1994, this aquarium features around 70 species across its various enclosures, including Brazil's largest saltwater tank. Visitors can marvel at fascinating creatures like crabs, octopuses, sharks, and even Magellanic penguins from Patagonia.
Amazing place. Worth every penny from the ticket. Well guided, the staff is very gentle. Lots of information about sea life.
Luiz F — Google review
Was surprised at the array of animals there , staff were lovely and when raining spent a couple of hours sheltering inside !
George W — Google review
I liked it, kind of fun for children. It isn't as big as other ones around the world, but fits into this environment. The most fun was the playground behind it for my kids.
Daniel G — Google review
Small but very nice and well organized, employees were respectful and knowledgeable. The sharks and penguins were the highlight of the visit but the experience was really good overall, really worth the time.
Julio R — Google review
This aquarium is an excellent opportunity to make a immersion into the beauty and miseries of the sea, this place is prepared for a huge crowd of adults and kids enjoying multiple attractions, it is recomended to buy tickets online in advance to have a quick access to the place, also check the estimated time for some scheduled activities, like feeding the penguins, so you can have the best experience possible here, very recommended
Renner P — Google review
It was smaller than I've been to other places, but close and intimate. Probably crowded I peak season, but July it was perfect. Some signs had English but not all.
Mac S — Google review
Very nice manageable size for children. We saw species we'd never seen before and there is a beautiful shell collection. The tide exhibit was fun. The petting pool was a new experience too. There's a nicely decorated cafe (we got a free coffee with a family ticket) overlooking a play area outside on the promenade. The recycling exhibit was overly sombre at the end of the tour.
Rachel C — Google review
The visit is very pleasant and the path is interesting with posters and exhibitions. The place is not very big but there are spectacular types of marine animals. I suggest to avoid peak time as it could be stressing waiting in the queue. Near the exit, you can touch a number of live examples like the star fish, pepino do mar, etc. There is a small restaurant inside, which can also serve people not in the aquarium from the side overlooking the beach.

In addition to its natural beauty, visitors can also explore the Tamar project dedicated to marine turtle preservation.
This place is incredible. It really worth the visit. Just recommend to get here as early as possible since it gets very busy and it’s quite hard to reach the parking slot. 30.00 reais(5.50€ +/-). The lounge beach has minimum consumption(200.00 reais). The prices are okay. The service is okay. It could be better!

Wonderful! Such a beautiful nature, blessed place. If you're in Ubatuba you must visit this beach.
Louise G — Google review
It was such a beautiful place with great people and service ....
Gus S — Google review
Beach frequented by locals, with an image of a place to be. Surf breaks literally meters from the beach so it is lovely for a swim. Some "disconected" foodstalls ice merchants and rent a canoe. Nature around it is really impressive and truly worth a visit.
Denis P — Google review
Good beach, the sand is very coarse (and it gets everywhere :p), even hurts the feet a bit, the ocean had lots of big waves, not good for swimming (the day I went, at least), but it's good, beautiful, there is a kiosk with several options and very, very good service, they are incredible polite and handy, a bit expensive.
Luan N — Google review
If you're not going to the beach from Taubaté via Oswaldo Cruz, you can expect a kinda long trip, but it's definitely worth it. (Also, if downtown Ubatuba traffic is in a jam, try going through Rio Escuro. It's a muddy way, but definitely worth the view. The beach, as most of Ubatuba beaches, is removed from the main road. If you go all the way down by car, there are some paid parking lots. We parked at Bruzy for 35BRL. We also stayed at Bruzy. There are tables closer and further away from the sea. The further ones are sheltered from the sun not only with parasols but also with trees. The service is very good, the price of the beverages is sensible (for a beach) and the portions are well served, lacking a little in savor. The beach has very fine white sands and a very clear water. The waves are around 1m high. Strongly recommend.
Hélder R — Google review
A good choice among the Ubatuba beaches, they offer a boat service to Ilha do Prumirim. It's worth a visit.

Great place. Really great place to relax and enjoy a beautiful day in the beach. The road is quite long and in bad state, but the views are wonderful. The beach is the last one before to arrive in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

One of the best beaches in the region to relax. Very calm, pool-like sea, usually a bit warmer than elsewhere. If you are looking for some very tasty caipirinhas, try the "Caju" kiosk.

The beach is actually very pretty, but short, and equipped with a charming hotel with restaurant. Access by car is possible from the br highway but the road isn't the best. There are sights to be had along the ride that might make it worth your while tough.

Hiking trail to Cachadaço Natural Pool

Mentioned on

Hiking area

Hot Springs & Geysers
The hiking trail to Cachadaço Natural Pool in Trindade Village offers a serene and clean natural swimming experience among colorful fishes. The medium difficulty trail is well-marked with steps, handrails, and boardwalks over swampy areas. Accessible from the beach, the 30-minute walk is suitable for most visitors, although closed-toe shoes are recommended. For those seeking an alternative to the trail, boat transport is available for a fee.
(Translated by Google) Super easy trail! Even kids can do it. From this point on, it's a 15 to 20 minute walk, with some ups and downs to the natural pools. The trail starts at the end of Cachadaço beach. You can go by boat from Praia do Meio, I think it's R$40/50 round trip. You can go by trail and return by boat (R$20/30). (Original) Trilha super tranquila!
Anderson ( — Google review
From the end of last beach to the natural pool I walked 25 minutes one way (walking quickly but with flipflops on a really muddy ground). Easy to find, but not for a "beach stroll" - my friends returned halfway without visiting the pool. There are boats waiting in case you want to return by taxi boat.
Hahaha H — Google review
(Translated by Google) The trail will take you between 20 and 25 minutes. There are spots where you can stop to take photos and videos of the breathtaking scenery! In the natural pool area, which is a place where several huge rocks have gathered and the sea water gathers, meaning the water there is salty, forming a pool. No waves, no currents. Calm water, like a swimming pool, for you to enjoy. You'll see lots of fish swimming near you. It's totally worth it! For those who don't want to do the trail, because there are a lot of stairs, on the middle beach you can pay a man who stays there just for that purpose, with a boat, to take you there and bring you back. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the last time I went it was 50.00 round trip. You can also pay just to go, for example, and return by the trail. Then he'll only charge half.

(Translated by Google) The trail is full of incredible views. It is an easy/moderate trail, but it can be very dangerous if it has rained. I do not recommend it for seniors who are not used to exercising. There are points where we go up and down slopes, and it can be tiring. It is a trail of about 1.5 km (including the walk to the beach). But in the end, it is worth it. The natural pool is wonderful, shallow water for swimming and there are beautiful fish. Guilherme C — Google review
(Translated by Google) The trail is simply spectacular, with incredible views, preserved vegetation and a medium level of difficulty. Some sections are very slippery during the rainy season. It takes between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on the speed and agility of each person, as well as the flow of people in the area. The trail is a fundamental part of the experience for those who want to see the pools. I took a boat trip back (5 minutes), more for the experience of crossing the water. The pool is incredible, with many colorful fish. The water is cold and the landscape is sensational. I went in January and there were a lot of people, which made the water cloudy and scared away the fish. It is better to go in the low season. I highly recommend the tour. A água é fria e a paisagem é sensacional. Recomendo demais o passeio.

(Translated by Google) This trail is of medium difficulty (difficult for children under five and the elderly, and very difficult for people with reduced mobility), but it can be skipped if the tourist doesn't mind paying R$15 to go by boat (and another R$15 to return). The trail is well-marked, with steps and handrails in the more complicated sections. The swampy sections have planks that allow for easy passage. It should be avoided before or immediately after rain, as it is entirely muddy. Be careful of insects and the time of day you are hiking, as it is a trail in the middle of a reserve.

Cachadaço beach is a stunning, wide stretch of coastline with a trail leading to natural pools surrounded by rocks and lush native vegetation. To reach this tropical paradise, travelers can take a paved road from Bairro do Patrimonio in Paraty or pay attention after crossing the border between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro when coming from Ubatuba to Trindade. The beach is a favorite among explorers for its access to the Atlantic Forest hillside and short trail.
Great beach tropical paradise with great views and calm waters. We ate some delicious fresh oysters from a shucker right in the sand and also visited a restaurant with views of the water. This was the best beach for us while staying in Paraty

One of the beaches i prefered when in Brazil. So untouched, no hotels, no restaurants, not a lot of people. Really wild place. The walk from the Trindade beach is just beautiful. Enjoy a bit of trekking with my gf. U better use good shoes because its not that comfy with flipflops.

Visitors can also opt for a speed boat from Praia do Meio if they prefer not to hike. Awesome place. If you are visiting Parati, Trindade is one of top places here to visit, specially the beach named “praia do meio” which is a nature reserve. There is no commerce here, only a place to take a boat to visit the natural swimming pool called cachadaço. This place is one that you want to visit here!

This beach is much more quiet than the more touristic Dos Ranchi's beach, only a short trail away! But what a change in the scenery, with the big rock and the waves splashing against the rocks in the next beach, which is also accessible via a trail. A must visit when in Trindade!

Brilliant place to spend all day but......too many ships with tourists with loud music, influencers taking millions of photos but it's still worth to take private transfer from Party and enjoy all day there. Remember to take food and drinks with you as there is nothing like shop or bar

It's just fantastic! You'll usually get there by boat, mine, was Netuno IV, great team by the way. You can jump from the boat and go swimming. Beautiful place.

A nice little beach which looks like you can only access via a boat tour which we paid R$50pp for (we went in June and you can probably negotiate this down). The water is warm and the views are amazing.

It is a place you must go if you visit Paraty. Rent a boat for the day as it is the only way to get to this beach. It can be a private boat or tour boat, they all go there, I honestly prefer the private boat as you can decide how long you want to stay in each place.

Amazing location, beautiful beach , Bruno is very helpful and always with a smile, they have canoe and sup that you can take and explore the area as well as snorkelling equipment, the breakfast is very good, on the back of the hotel is a jungle , better use shoes especially if you decide to take the left side it is really amazing if you are lucky you will see monkeys, you have to remember that this is a hotel in the jungle so that means that everything can not be perfect, the water is not very hot , in the night you may not have electricity all the time , there is humidity so the towels and the clothes are not easy to dry but it is truly amazing and you must go…

Only Talking about the Restaurant: Prices are way too high and the staff is very inattentive and in a bad mood. I would say it was a bad service but in fact it was just no service at all, as they didn’t come to our table to collect our order after 20mins of waiting - even though there were almost no other customers and we were sitting in front of the counter. Wouldn’t recommend to go!! (Been there 6th of January 2025)

I'm only writing for the restaurant. We waited an hour for a drink and another hour for ceviche. Service was one of the worst I have ever seen with the staff smoking cigarettes and not paying any attention to us after multiple requests. I definitely would not visit there unless you have a lot of time on your hands! The ceviche was really not worth it either and definitely overpriced

We were warmly welcomed by the staff, who gave us their undivided attention from start to finish. The breakfast is incredible — you choose what you want from a hugely varied menu, and you even have the option to enjoy it in your room, next to the pool with a private hot tub. It was surreal! 🌴✨ The hotel's meals are always fresh, and best of all, the hours are flexible, which makes everything even more comfortable. I highly recommend it! ❤️ The place is ideal for relaxing and enjoying special moments as a couple, especially since it's a very secluded beach, without the heavy traffic. A true refuge! Lovely Islands that are truly exotic. Great Schooner (Boats with Wind sails) tours available and a various points to see. one of the favorite spot is called Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon) where the water is clearest and lovely snorkeling site. Even considering the fact we travelled there in a pretty bad weather, the place looked amazing.

Stunning scenery and a chilled out atmosphere. Really good hostels and places to eat and drink. Lopes Mendes beach is a highlight. Pico do Papagaio (Parrot's Peak) is an amazing view, but it's one hell of a trek. If you are quite fit, it is well worth the effort. Ignore the signs and tourist information insistance of the need for a guide. The path is easy to follow. Easytransfer is a useful company that can pick you up from your hostel/hotel in Rio and take to the island including the ferry trip ($R85 each way). Also goes to Paraty.

(Translated by Google) It's very beautiful here. Both above and below the water. Especially the below-water part is of a beauty that unfortunately doesn't last long. It's being destroyed by barbecue boats that throw trash into the water. Paper with mayonnaise, bones, cans, bags, plastic cups, straws, cigarette butts. They play funk music so loud that you can't even talk 100 meters away. In addition, there were about 80 jetskis competing, above the corals, above the fish that are the reason for the beauty of the place! We know that these machines ruin the peace above the water. But it's 10x worse below the water, it disrupts life there, right? I wanted to cry, I felt so sad. Is it not possible to enjoy the beauty without destroying it? Lopes Mendes Beach is a remote and undeveloped gem, offering a serene escape with its pristine white sand, almond trees, and stunning mountain views. Accessible via a private hike or with the guidance of a local expert, reaching this natural wonder is an enriching experience that allows for a deep connection with nature. Despite being recognized as one of the world's top beaches, it remains relatively secluded, providing ample space for visitors to find their own tranquil spot along the 1.
A paradise, beauty beyonds any words all around, thin clean bright sand dazzling us under a beautiful sky, definitively one of the most amazing beaches I have seen in years. There is a bit of hiking to get there,an around 20 minutes walk across a stunning forest, we saw colorful birds in it and eagles on the beach.

Soft soft white beach when you step on the sand its like stepping into fresh snow that crunch sound! We walked from Abraão beach through the forest. If you are a hiker I recommend it, its a 2hr hike. BUT I’m not a hiker so took us 3 hrs while it was beautiful and we saw monkeys and birds if i do it again I’d take a boat so i have more time on the beach

Very good beach if you are a surfer. There are large waves there. If you want to swim this isn't the place. There are surfing schools on the beach, stands with drinks. There is no taxi boat that you can take from there (unless you have arranged pick up in advance).

One of the most beautiful beach if ever seen. The sand is really white like in the movies and the water is so clean and nice. Once you there you don’t want to leave I promise you! A must see when you visit Ihla Grande! I recommend to hike to the beach it’s quiet challenging but nice to climb up and down through the tropical forest. And as mentioned before, definitely worth it
Zoltán S — Google review
Very long sandy beach. Apparently once voted among the best beaches in the world but I don't see why, as it is not very special or photogenic. The life guards mark most of the beach unsafe to swim and only leave a small part open in front of their watch tower. But that part is so shallow that it's not possible to swim there and beyond that there are huge waves so again not swimmable. The best thing about the beach is that it is so big you can find a spot with no one around. The trail to get there from the drop off point is about 20 minutes and you can see some cute looking monkeys there if you're lucky.
Petr V — Google review
What a beach 🏝 a real paradise beach. The beach is very long so you can easily find a suite spot away from the crowds. There is little food and drinks for sale on the beach, so make sure you bring some before you leave. It is also a bit of a muddy hike trough the jungle before you get to the beach, so best to wear the right footwear

Praia de Abrãaozinho is a beautiful beach with clear and calm waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. While it can get crowded in the afternoon, there is still plenty of space to unwind. Visitors can find a few restaurants and vendors nearby for refreshments. However, it's advisable to avoid weekends due to the influx of people. Additionally, transportation costs from the beach back to Abrao by taxi boat are relatively high.

If you come early, the beach is actually not very busy (depending on season) but at about 1pm people will start to fill the beach, by 3pmish you'll have quite a few people (but still plenty of space to relax). The water is reasonably clear and calm. A great place to relax.

It was OK. The beach was nothing too special, I would recommend Praia Preta instead if you are looking for a nice beach near Abraão. The pros of going here instead would be the fact that there are some restaurants here, a little less people, and clear water. However, the hiking trail there made it not worth going. It is not taken care of properly. There is lots of trash that stinks, and instead of having regular railings there are barbed wires close to the trail in places where people could easily slip, making it incredibly dangerous. Would not recommend the trail to anyone because of the dangers, especially during the rainy season when the path is almost guaranteed to be muddy and therefore extra slippery.

Avoid it on weekends. Nice beach to swim, Expensive to eat. 25R to come back to Abrão by taxi boat 😬

Wonderful quite beach, there’s a bar as well tog te some beers while chilling on the beach. It is a fair 30 min hike in the woods from Abrao. If you have shoes with you it’s better than flipflops. In some point you may need to walk in water depending on the tie

If I could actually LIVE here I'd be the happiest person on the planet. The restaurants have excellent food (and I mean it). There is a private inn at the end of the beach. The place is paradise.

I loved the trail to the beach. It's a beautiful piece of jungle. The beach has restaurants and facilities. It's very near to the village.

(Translated by Google) A great and peaceful beach! It's a great weekend option with several houses for rent. Don't forget the insect repellent as it's close to a forested area. If you're only going there for 1 day, arrive early as parking spaces are limited. It's a perfect place if you're looking for peace, it's very quiet and there's a drinking water fountain (when I went it was drinkable) next to the train line. (Translated by Google) Amazing. One of the best visits to historic farms I've ever done. Excellent for the farm's original collection, the restoration carried out, and the organization and planning for the visit. The guide is very well prepared. The owners live on site, so there are spaces that cannot be visited, but this does not compromise their historical legacy. The owner is very kind, knowledgeable, and encourages historical preservation. There are projects underway to build a museum and cafeteria. A must-see visit. Price: 25 reais/person (November 2023). Imperdível a visita. Preço: 25 reais/pessoa (novembro 2023).
