Banh It Cham Temple (Yang M'Tian) is a historical red-brick temple situated on a hillside, surrounded by rice fields and developing buildings, offering picturesque views of the mountains. With an affordable entry fee of 15k vnd plus 3k for parking, it is definitely worth visiting to enjoy the panoramic view and admire the beauty of this temple.
It is not attractive for foreigners. But I get there and see it. The steps are so high. But when you get to the top. What an amazing view .

beautiful small cham temple at the top of a hill overlooking the farmlands. go early in the morning around 7 when they open to avoid the heat and especially a lot people, or late evening before they close. must visit if you’re in quy nhon or on your way from/to the airport. 15k/pp admission fee. you can also rent simple ao dais for the photos.
C P — Google review
A bit far from the city center of Quy Nhon, but totally recommended if you rent a motorcycle to visit this place, free parking n lots of parking space. You either pay to ask the locals to bring you to the top of the hill to see 2-tower Cham temple, or you can climb as it's not that high, about 10 to 15 mns walk. On top of the hill, it's really beautiful with red brick Champa temple as one has to admire its peak civilization that has lost n buried in its history.
Lyda H — Google review
Banh It Tower is one of the relics with similarities in the Cham Pa tower relics. Moving here from the city center is quite far, if you are a person who studies archeology, history, admire ancient architecture, this is a suitable relic. You can visit and walk around here within 30 minutes. For me, this is a beautiful and historically significant tourist destination.
Hye H — Google review
Worth the 20km drive from Quy Nhon City! It was such a very great experience. One thing I'd like to highlight tho, is that you might want to bring some water and some extra cash. It's a nice place for photos during high noon but it surely is very hot up there on top. Since it's very far from the city, not much people visits the place. Highly recommend you should try this when you visit QuyNhon.
T3ch — Google review
It was super hot when we went since it’s deep inland. Highly recommend taking the bike ride up if weather is super hot. This place has a good amount of information about the site but could be much more informative. There are four different remaining buildings on site and they seemed to be renovated externally. Inside the main building there are people’s names carved into the bricks which ruined part of the experience and the historical significance of the site. One of the temple toward the bottom has become a cave for the bats. It was very interesting to see but that the same time ruined the importance of the place. It would have been much more enjoyable if there were more shades and more historical information along the way about the people, the area, and the reasons for these temples in that location.
Nhan P — Google review
This temple about 40 minutes from Quy Nhon by scooter is definitely worth the trip. It’s pretty impressive and has an interesting history. Not many people visit, so it’s nice and calm. The view is really good with lots of nature around. Good spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Quang Trung Museum

History Museums
The Quang Trung Museum is a significant site dedicated to preserving the history of the Tay Son uprising and the revered Emperor Quang Trung. The museum features nine galleries showcasing precious objects from this period, offering visitors a comprehensive look at its developmental stages. One highlight is the "Kung Fu Dance" exhibition, which provides colorful and entertaining insights into the era. Legend has it that drinking from the well within the museum's grounds brings good fortune in battle and enhances virility.
As far as museums go this is a good one. There are plenty of interesting historic artifacts and stories about the famous people, the places and the battles that took place during this "time of heroes" in Vietnams history. If you are a history buff i recommend you plan at least 2-2.5 hours for this one. Its big!
Johann M — Google review
During my journey through central Vietnam, one destination that truly stood out was the Quang Trung Museum in Tây Sơn District, Bình Định Province. This museum is dedicated to Emperor Quang Trung (Nguyễn Huệ) – one of Vietnam’s greatest military leaders and national heroes, best known for leading the historic victory over the Qing army in 178
Anna — Google review
Beautiful site. Museum is full of interesting artefacts. Unfortunately, the temple of the 3 Tan son brothers was closed on our visit day.

dedicated to the Tay Son uprising. nicely air-conditioned, but the app was not available in my non-Vietnamese app store, and many exhibits are in Vietnamese only. lots of paintings depicting the historical events, but they are of very limited artistic value. quite frankly not worth the trip from Quy Nhon, and the road is pretty busy and dusty. one bus just left when I arrived and I was the only visitor.
Kai S — Google review
Quang Trung Museum, located in Tay Son District, Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam, offers a captivating insight into the life of Emperor Quang Trung (Nguyen Hue) and the Tay Son uprising. Established on the former residence of the Tay Son brothers, the museum preserves original relics such as the old family garden, an ancient well, and a 200-year-old tamarind tree . Exhibits and Architecture The museum features nine galleries housing over 11,000 artifacts related to the Tay Son era, including official seals, ancient currencies, and genealogical records . The architecture harmoniously blends traditional Vietnamese elements with historical symbolism, set against a serene natural backdrop . Cultural Performances Visitors can experience traditional martial arts performances at the Tay Son Music and Martial Arts Theater, showcasing the legacy of Binh Dinh martial arts developed by the Tay Son brothers . Visitor Information • Location: Phu Phong Town, Tay Son District, Binh Dinh Province, about 45 km northwest of Quy Nhon City. • Opening Hours: 7:00 AM - 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM. • Entrance Fees: Adults: VND 50,000; Children (6-15 yrs): VND 25,500; Children under 6 and people with disabilities: Free . While in the area, consider visiting nearby sites such as Duong Long Tower and Thien Hung Pagoda to enrich your cultural experience . Quang Trung Museum provides a profound journey into Vietnam’s revolutionary past, making it a worthwhile destination for history enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.
BodoiCuHo — Google review
Unfortunately, the museum is closed for renovation at the moment, but the garden and small temples around are really beautiful. We also saw a traditional performance of vietnamese martial arts and dances. Interesting!

King Quang Trung is my biggest hero, so visiting his museum is my purpose of the trip to Bình Định. The museum was built right on his original house location, in which a tamarine tree and a well are still alive since his time. It may take you the whole morning or afternnon to finish the museum.

I really loved staying here. The room and bathroom were spotless. I loved the atmosphere, so calm and peaceful. The staff are amazing and the restaurant food, though crazy expensive, was good. My bicycle slept in my room with me. When I got there I realised that I'd stayed here before, back in 2018. The property is on the beach. Perfect.
Penny K — Google review
Nice quiet resort right on the beach! We visited in low season so we almost had the place to ourselves. Clean room, hot water and 1 min to the beach, smart TVs would be a nice but the location makes up for it.
Christopher Q — Google review
Room was very noisy with nearby AC on and off all night. Shower has no curtain so water goes all over the floor and down the sides of the bath causing a mouldy smell. Room AC was barely adequate. Breakfast pretty basic.
David — Google review
Fine for overnight- on a lovely beach with great views. Rather small and dark bungalow with a faintly musty smell. Hair dryer came close to melting and then died. Sitting on a terrace having coffee and a rat comes wandering by! Faded grandeur.
Roderick R — Google review
Seen better days, odd smell, tired restaurant. And a decent sized rat was the most interesting thing in the shop. Nevertheless a fun little stop on way north and an excellent supper at nearby chau Me beach
Stuart H — Google review
worst experience of staying in a hotel in my life! first of all, they gave us an old small room near the main road with a dirty pool outside that barely is worth 300k, but they will charge you for 800k. we stayed there for a few hours then at midnight they came to our room and threw us out of the hotel because instead of passports we showed them our residency cards and they didn't know what this is! so we slept a night outside on the beach. and the worst part is they charged us for this service! unbelievable! please don't waste your time and money in this place. especially if you are foreigners.
Arsham J — Google review
This resort is the worst resort I have ever been to. It is more like a motel. The beds were lumpy, the highway is right next to all rooms so all night you would hear trucks driving by honking their horns and the food at the restaurant gave my boyfriend Food poisoning. And the resort still expected us to pay for it. I tried to explain that due to how sick we both were I was not going to pay for the food, but their English was so bad she kept saying "no, sorry". And would call the manager saying the same thing afterwards. There was also a wedding next door which played the loudest music all night long. And the beach was dirty, with no chairs or umbrellas. The pool had bugs in it. The restaurants service was horrible. We waited over 15 minutes to get our order taken. And I had to ask for the bill three times. They do not serve ice with the sodas only a cup. And the table clothes were dirty probably from the previous meal eaten on them. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Especially not at the crazy prices they charge.
Dawn H — Google review
We didnt actually stay here. We stopped in on the motor bike because of the spectacular view and beachfront. It was one of the cleanest beaches we have seen in VN and the food we ordered in the restaurant was quite good and generous in portion size. If you have time or are travelling by i would definitely reccomend stopping.

The monument was donated by Vietnamese artist Ho Thu and features a powerful sculpture of an elderly woman holding a dead child, symbolizing the tragedy that unfolded on March 16, 1968. The massacre claimed the lives of 504 villagers, many of whom were innocent children and elderly individuals.

Everyone visiting Hoi An or Da Nang, especially Americans, ought to visit this humble museum.
Niels C — Google review
Truly devastating place. The Museum and documentary we saw in the museum depict just the horrendous tragedies that the United States did to innocent Vietnamese civilians. We meet with a survivor of this massacre and his story was devastating. Walking through the re creation of some of the buildings is truly heartbreaking to see a whole village just get wiped out in a matter of hours. The place is truly sad and shows you the horrors of War and why we need peace in this world. Also if you are in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) visit the War Remnants Museum as it tells you about more on this massacre and also other war crimes.
Christian B — Google review
Everybody visiting Vietnam should spend an afternoon walking round the gardens and museum to reflect on the tragedy of this war crime. An incredibly moving experience which I am very grateful to be able to visit. Very informative and a must-see to understand the impact of America’s War on Vietnam.
Charlotte T — Google review
Important for all to see • Quan trọng cho tất cả mọi người để xem I took a motorbike from Hội An to get here, it took about 2.5 hours each way (with breaks and gas stops) and the route was easy as a beginner motorbiker. Staff were friendly, and price was reasonable, around 20k + 5k parking. If you have extra time, I also highly recommend seeing the nearby Chùa Minh Ðức, a beautiful towering Buddha statue and temple on top of a hill.
Linh L — Google review
Very good museum, preserving the memory of this terrible event. There is a 30 minute documentary, as well as many artifacts in the museum and a garden. Must visit for anyone in the area, especially Americans, so we can learn from history, instead of repeating it.

Interesting place to visit. Took two guests from Scotland to explore the Ky Anh Tunnels – a hidden underground network hand-dug by local villagers during the Vietnam War. Step inside the real tunnels and experience how the VC fighters once lived and survived underground. A moving and unforgettable journey into Vietnam’s wartime history, right here in Tam Ky, Quang Nam. #KyAnhTunnels #TamKyVietnam #VietnamWarHistory #DiaDaoKyAnh #ExploreVietnam #LocalBuddyTours

(Translated by Google) The cluster of three towers is also not to be missed when coming to Tam Ky, Quang Nam. The tower has traditional Cham tower architecture, the lower floor is square, the three floors gradually narrow from bottom to top and end with a sandstone spire. The relic site is properly fenced, with a main and secondary entrance gate. The front is planted with trees around the path leading inside, in the middle there is a large ancient tree with a dense canopy that blocks the main view of the three towers behind. One side is an exhibition house but when I arrived it was not open. The three Khuong My towers are at the back, arranged in the North - South direction. On the surface of each tower, there is a very clear distinction between the old brick foundation (dark color) and the new brick after restoration (light color, no motifs). The motifs on the old brick foundation simulate herbs in Khuong My's own sculptural style, which are still very clear. Unlike the cluster of three Chien Dan towers, Khuong My tower is a relic that only worships Vishnu. Many sandstone statues and related sculptural details can be found around the tower. The surrounding environment seems to be more humid due to underground water, rain and surrounding construction. That is part of the reason why the tower was calcified after restoration. Tower clusters such as Chien Dan or Duong Long are often located in the center of the ancient citadel area, which is very open and therefore exposed to more sunlight. Image taken at 9-10am on March 30, 2025. AMAZING Beach ⛱️⛱️⛱️ it's the type of place people used to visit 15 or 20 years ago for a few days and ended up staying a decade. Sand was superb golden fine grain, relatively clean. Reminded me of Queensland 1960s.

Tam Thanh Mural Village is an interesting yet somewhat neglected destination. Located between the river and the sea, the village is easily accessible by car, but it remains quiet due to the fact that most locals are fishermen who spend their time at sea. This creates a peaceful but somewhat deserted atmosphere. Walking around, you can see colorful murals on the walls of houses, though many of them have faded over time. The natural scenery is beautiful, with the contrast of the ocean and the tranquil river, but unfortunately, the beach is littered with trash, which takes away from its charm. One of the good things about visiting Tam Thanh is that you don’t need to buy any tickets or book in advance. However, aside from taking photos and enjoying the quiet surroundings, there isn’t much else to do. If you’re looking for a well-maintained tourist attraction, this might not be the place for you. But if you appreciate off-the-beaten-path experiences and local life, it could still be worth a visit.

This place is uniquely painted village in Vietnam. The painting project is co-started by the cooporation between Vietnamese government and a Korean university. Since its completion, the village has become a famous tourist attraction where you could find a lot of photogenic scenes, local activities and nice natural landscapes only found on middle Vietnam.
Vinh N — Google review
A very nice, lovely, quiet and beautiful little fishing village by the sea. White sand and fishing boat laying in wait between the trips. Not very much tourists as there are not many hotels but homestays. Cute wall paintings along the main road running through the village. This is ideal place for those who want a a real hide away.
Colin P — Google review
This village was designated by the government to be an area of art. They got artists to paint murals on the walls of the fishing village. The village runs along one road for just over a kilometre. The paintings are just impressive and are of many different themes. It was an absolute pleasure to visit this little off the beaten track place and see it before it becomes over commercialised with tourists, which is sadly happening in Vietnam today.
R B — Google review
Lovely little village where the homes and fences have been painted with various scenes. Murals are very artistic. The beach area is relatively clean and virtually empty. There were a few touts but no hard sell, or pressure, a simple shake of the head and no thanks and off they happily went. Can also walk down to the fish farms. Not really geared for tourism and that was the best part.
Elizabeth M — Google review
We did a 6-hour trip to Tam Thanh village, it was awesome! We park our bike for 5,000, walk through the village to find the paintings, some on hidden wall behind, some on those walls in small alley, so it was really fun. lunch for 20,000 per person, noodle or steam rice with side dishes, which can be found on the main street, pretty cheap! We had sugar cane juice, while h can be found anywhere. Long clean sandy beach, very quiet. On the way to Tam Thanh, just after the Waterpark, we found magnificent white sand dunes, perfect pho photoshoots! Highly recommend!

Chien Dan Cham Towers, located just outside Tam Ky City in Central Vietnam, are a fascinating relic from the Cham empire's reign. Dating back to the 10th and 11th centuries under King Harivarmadeva's rule, these three towers stand as a testament to an ancient civilization. Although some parts of the towers are broken, they offer a glimpse into history and are definitely worth a visit for those passing by. The entrance fee is minimal, making it accessible for all travelers.
Today we went to visit this temple, but it was closed and under restoration, but it is a unique temple for its history and the years it has since it dates back to the 10th century.

Tours
Bến tàu Cù lao Chàm, situated in Tan Hiep commune, Hoi An, is a picturesque cluster of islets located approximately 20km from the heart of Hoi An city. The ideal time to visit this destination is from March to August. Visitors can expect stunning beaches with clear blue waters and breathtaking natural scenery.
Nice place to visit, but we didn't had much time to Explore. But much to see here and to do.

Great day out with the family. Snorkelling in clear water was great. Our tour included boat ride out to the island with a guide and lunch provided at a local restaurant.

Many beautiful beaches! Blue sea! Clear water! Wonderful nature! Wonderful island! 5* for the nature. But the seafood is not good, not fresh and very expensive. The 4* - 5* restaurants in Da Nang are better and cheaper than here. 2* for the food. Should not litter! Rubbish in the sea water, surrounded the houses, on all the way in islands ... everywhere! All people in Cham island town discharges wastewater into the sea. What a shame. They're killing their sea, our sea. 1* for the living at Cham Island.

This is the port where you arrive from Hoi An ferry on Au Co street. hostels are nearby and there is a small island market. Food in restaurants are a bit pricey. You would have a meal decent meal for around 200,000VND for 2 persons.

Beautiful island, best beaches. Calm soothing vibe, relaxed ambience, great weather and so very clean. Loved it. Highly recommended.

Welcome to the cham islands! You are on tour and they will help you experience the history here. Fresh seafood is good here from the street vendors.

Read the excellent, comprehensive review by Hai Hoang. We did a day trip by speedboat - short walk through the village, short stop on sandy beach, snorkeling and a traditional lunch. Islands are still undeveloped but there is a resort in progress 😞.

Fantastic place, still intact from western hedonism, big corporations, hotel chains, apartments and so on. No McDonalds, Starbucks and other fake and artificial suff. Here you still can see locals how they transport bunch of goose on his scooter, pigs at hg g trailor, women who cleans giant squid next to the ocean. Food where locals eat is around 30K, delicious and cheap. Just amazing! Beach is clean and spacious. So much better then Phi Phi. I love It! 😍🤟😎

Island
Nature & Parks
Chàm Islands, also known as Cu Lao Cham, is a stunning group of eight islands off the coast of Hoi An Beach in Vietnam. This picturesque nature reserve offers a range of activities such as swimming, diving, and camping. The islands are part of the Chàm Island Biosphere Reserve, where visitors can learn about the formation history, customs, cultural festivals, and native aquatic creatures.
Magnificent nature, the island naturally decorated by many flowers especially the red flowers accross the beach and mountains. Many beaches have white sand and blue water, you can discover coral reef as well. I really love many old trees here. The island is well protect from plastic, no plastic bags allow to use here. Will visit here again if i have free time

If you bigger size and need time to do thinks I suggest not to do fast tour to get island. It doesn’t worth it. I will say if you have to go take ferry and watch return or stay over night and real enjoy time on island.

Bit of a tourist trap but a pleasant one. We paid for a package with the boat ride over, lunch and time to snorkel. Was fun!

We hired a boat to try and avoid the crowds but it just took us to the same places as the tour boats which were crowded. Snorkelling was disappointing and we have seen much better elsewhere. The beach that the tours take you to is horrendous as it is full of tourists packed in, the food served is not good at all. We hired scooters with drivers to get away from the tourist beach and it was the best thing we did. We saw a stunning small beach, the small port and a temple - all lovely. Catch a ferry and explore - avoid the tour boat packages.

Even on a rainy and stormy day, the trip to the island was an adventure. Tour moves pretty fast - 45min choppy speed boat ride to the island, 45min walk around the tiny village, 45min snorkeling time, 1hr lunch and beach time. If you go on rainy day or off season, there are less other tour groups, so the snorkeling can feel more private. Snorkeling itself was nice - many corals, some fish. Not much apart from that though, and quite a bit of trash floating around. But it was still a worthwhile trip in the rain

We went with a scuba diving tour organized from Hoi Anh - I’ve read all the comments about tourist trap(y) tours, we’ve specified that we only want to spend time in the water as much as possible. The tour itself was nice enough. The ship we’ve been to has seen better days (marine toilet is ew). Coral reefs are half dead, there are fish, but we did not have a wow effect to be honest. Not recommend for scuba divers. For snorkeling its nice if you haven’t been better preserved coral reefs. The food was great, we stopped at Monkey Beach, it was surprisingly nice - we saw a monkey! 🐒 We could have skipped this tour, but I would have major fomo, so overall I’m glad we went 😅

Amazing snorkeling & freediving at Cù Lao Chàm! Crystal-clear water, colorful coral reefs, and so many fish! The boat ride was fun, and our team were happy. A peaceful escape just off the coast of Hội An. Great for beginners and nature lovers, don’t miss it! We are hanoi freedive team!

I strongly recommend avoiding Cham Island. What should be a tropical escape turns into one of the worst experiences you can have in Vietnam. It starts at the pier, where you’re charged 700,000 VND for a chaotic, disorganized tour. The area is packed with aggressive vendors screaming at you to buy extras you don’t need. There’s no respect, no structure, just noise and pressure. The boat ride itself is dangerously overcrowded, with no safety protocols, and multiple people got seasick. It already feels like a scam. Once you arrive, the island shows its true colors—literally and figuratively. Yes, the water has beautiful hues and the nature could be stunning… but that potential is completely wasted. The beach is packed, the atmosphere is loud and overwhelming, and the people around you are spitting, littering, and yelling nonstop. The worst part is the hygiene. The “included lunch” is served in filthy conditions: flies and mosquitoes cover the food, which includes old seafood and bland rice. It’s not only disgusting—it’s a real health risk. If you eat there, you’re seriously gambling with food poisoning or other illnesses. The seafood wasn’t fresh at all, which is absurd for an island. And to top it off? They charge 10–15€ for this low-quality, unsafe meal. The snorkeling was equally disappointing: just 20 minutes at a dead reef with nothing to see. It’s clear they take tourists to the easiest, most damaged spots with no effort to offer value. In short: Cham Island could be beautiful, but it’s been turned into a loud, dirty, overpriced mess. Unless you book a private tour with better access and fewer people, don’t waste your time, money, or health.
