A very pretty square in the heart of Vigevano! It is very calm and was designed by Leonardo da Vinci! Very historic too!

Even when we visited Vigevano in one of late September afternoons the piazza was almost deserted. It seemd that people were still on holiday and most shops were closed. It had a very calm and peaceful vibes to the town. Had a quiet stroll around the Piazza and had snacks and coffee. We enjoyed the couple of hours we had there a lot.

A few years ago I read somewhere that this was one of the most beautiful squares in the world. The numerous photos by pros and tourists testify it. Being born in Piedmont, I used to visit this quaint town quite often, appreciating its medieval cobblestone alleys, to reach the piazza Ducale and enjoy an excellent ice cream. A lot has changed, nothing stays forever, but the square has maintained its grandeur. The historical shops have disappeared in favor of expensive eateries with rude and hasty service, aiming only at you spending $ on mediocre food and drinks. Head towards the hidden, narrow streets that surround it and you’ll find small pubs and food joints with courteous and amicable service and decent prices. By the way, DO visit the Sforza castle, it’s a true medieval gem with frescos, ancient and secret gardens and horse stables. It’ll satisfy your cravings for history and well kept ancient artifacts

It is an incredible city😍 because it is full of monuments and place to eat and sit having the Ducale square view. It is very recommended to come at least one time.

One of a top place in Europa, beautiful and spectacular. You can feel the history of the place. As the city put a lot of descriptions and some guide everywhere.

One of many beautiful bridges I have seen in my life, but definitely not overrated. Very stunning! It's also called bridge of sighs and has an really interesting history, which is worth a google. I'm not too sure if you can actually walk over it but you dmcould view it from afar as see in the pictures or take a ride in a gondola and float along the waterways.

Really worth visiting but it's a long uphill walk. Great exercise and you can treat yourself to a drink or food when you reach the top if you think you've lost lots of calories on the way up. Lots of history, beautiful views. Finding a car parking space was a challenge but definitely worth the effort & stress.

Sacro Monte is a world class experience not yet overrun by tourism, and unbelievably its free! The hour's walk from the carpark reveals the story of Jesus through 14 chapels with life sized vignettes created centuries ago. It gets steep in parts but there is a pebbled path the whole way. The view from the top is a fitting reward. A vernacular is available for those who are physically challenged. Catch the C Bus from Varese to Prima Capella (end destination). Pay 1.60 euros on board with coins or card.

Just breathtaking. It's a holy town, a destination for pilgrimages for people around, and it's full of history and charmingly picturesque. I felt like Alice in Wonderland, walking through the winding stepped streets, finding its hidden secrets. We have driven all the way up by car, but beware, the parking is very limited, there might be around 50 parking spaces max for visitors. And the vistas from the top overlook the landscape for 20km around, it's magical!

Great place to visit for the views & history. We got the bus (Line C) up from Varese town centre to the top of the hill then took the funicular up to Sacro Monte itself. Gorgeous views out over the hills, lakes & Varese itself. Lots of historic buildings & churches at the top. We walked back down the pilgrimage route passing the 14 chapels/shrines along the way. Well worth a visit.

Stunning Sacro Monte di Varese, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where we explore its beautiful chapels and breathtaking views. The Path of the Chapels is an uphill climb of about 2 kilometers (about 1.2 miles), though it feels much longer when you are walking it, as it zig-zags you up by 245 meters (about 804 ft.) and can be a little steep in places. Each chapel is frescoed inside, and sometimes outside, and filled with sculptures illustrating scenes from Jesus’ life.

Amazing, dramatic - yet not too taxing - climb up via 14 elegant 17thC chapels on wide path to reach spectacular hilltop village based around convent. Incredible views across Varese lakes and heavily wooded hills and valleys. Stunning.

Beautiful place UNESCO site , steep climb or take the Funacular , you can get a bus to funacular which takes you up to the village . Check the opening days and times for Funacular

Very impressive displays, especially the space and car collection. The children indoor playground was amazing as well , and the kids liked it a lot. On the downside - many displays are very run down which is a shame as they could make this place so much better - the train models and tracks are not working and all filled with cobweb, some bathrooms are not functional and the train and old car display in the back of the museum is just sad. Additionally the large open aircrafts next to the airport fence could be cleaned a bit. In addition, there are not too many attractions for little kids, who wanted to enter planes, cars and helicopters but there were only a few of them that could be entered.

We had a few hours before we could check in to our room, this was the perfect place to pass them. Take the sidewalk from upper level / departure to the gate, then call from the gate, and someone will come and unlock it for you. The museum itself features airplanes from the very early days of aviation in Italy. The building is an old airplane factory.

Really cool museum at Malpensa Airport! Lots of interesting history and full-sized airplanes to check out, both indoors and outside. There’s even a café inside with snacks and drinks. Only downside is you might have to wait about 15 minutes for someone to let you in or out, which is a bit annoying if you’ve got a flight to catch. But overall, a fun place to visit if you’ve got some extra time at the airport.

My son loved this museum! Many things to see and learn. We stayed for an hour but you can easily spend more time because there is a lot of information. Very interesting!

Because I still have time before departure and find place to visit. It has many antique cars which I never see before. And it has many aeroplane outside which is very interesting. Just I don’t know why has no entrance from airport which pass thru the bridge. The plate I need walk anticlockwise but it has no road which is only fence. I need walk difficult which cross the sixth rental car park around 20 minutes to arrive the entrance. I am highly recommend to set a entrance which just below the airport bridge and attract the tourist to come

Really great way to spend a few hours if your’e waiting for a flight. Go outside at the second floor and go through the pathway up the highway. There is an alternative entrance to the museum where you have to call the given number and someone will come to open the gates.

If you want to be alone in the nature then this is the right place for you.

Marvellous landscape, do not come here if you are in a hurry. There is too much beauty to for you to rush through. Preferably don't come alone, bring someone with whom you can share the beauty. I loved the surrounding "village". If you have a canoe bring it - your experience will be exponentially enriched.

The Pombia Safari Park is a wonderful place to watch animals freely roaming around instead of being confined in cages. It’s truly enjoyable to observe them in a more natural environment. The beautiful giraffes are especially captivating, and I was really impressed by the lemurs. Overall, there are quite a lot of different animal species, and it’s fascinating to watch them in the safari setting.

Super safari with the car, seeing a lot of animals closeby. Afterwards, we visited the park, had some lunch and refreshed in the water park.

Initially I felt this was expensive at 26 euros per adult, but it's really not when compared with similar attractions elsewhere. There's a lot here, particularly on the safari route itself - we did this on the train, which took 45 minutes and would recommend this option. There are parts of the park that look a little tired, but also effort going into upgrading. It was quiet on our visit today, and plenty of staff around. Overall, a good day out with a young child and would recommend.

I have visited this outlet regularly since its creation. What is obvious is that the quality on offer has progressively gone down with many of the stores that we liked now having moved elsewhere. And brands with good reputation appear to offer mostly their bottom of the line products, often made of synthetic materials. There are still some exceptions but you have to look hard to find them.

This is a good outlet but not so perfect. The prices are a bit higher in comparison to the other outlets. And the variety is not so high. But the atmosphere and design are nice and friendly. There are Enough toilets and parkings. But options for eating are so less.

A fantastic open-air outlet — I absolutely loved it! This open-air outlet was such a great surprise! The whole place is beautifully designed, with wide, clean walkways and a very relaxing atmosphere. Shopping outdoors made the experience so much more enjoyable and stress-free. There’s a great selection of stores, with something for everyone — from clothing and shoes to home goods and accessories. I could have spent hours browsing! The prices were excellent, with lots of good deals and discounts in most shops. I found some real bargains that made the trip totally worth it. Everything felt very well organized, tidy, and pleasant. If you’re looking for a day of shopping in a lovely setting, without the chaos of an indoor mall, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be back!

Nice outlet. The walk is outside which is nice if the weather is good. The prices of American brands are a little expensive. Do arrive especially for them.

We got robbed at this place. The security at the parking lot doesn't exist and allows thief's run wild. Not even cameras are present.

Be aware: Your ferry ticket will not cover the palace and gardens. These cost an additional 13€ per person. That said, the gardens make for a lovely walk, and the peacocks are a delightful addition. They're friendly enough to approach crowds (and we sat beside one as we enjoyed a drink at the cafe.) The path is often steep however, and contains a large number of stairs, which might cause difficulties for some visitors. Also, the palace is littered with crude waxworks dummies, which made it more like a House of Horrors than a museum.

This place is of timeless beauty, it is extraordinary and absolutely deserves to be visited. Pause to read next to each exhibited object, you will be captured by the details that at first sight the eye cannot focus. On the effigy of the Borromeo we read "humulitas", it certainly makes a little smile, in all my life I have never seen so much pomp. Very beautifull! Strongly recommended.

Palazzo Borromeo on Isola Madre, situated on Lake Maggiore, is a serene 16th-century residence reflecting the private life of the Borromeo family. Worth the visit! We visited Palazzo Boromeo on our half-day tour of the Borromean islands. We bought a ferry ticket dockside in Stresa for 2 islands (Isola Madre and Isola Pescatore). I really liked this palace for three reasons. 1) It felt lived in and loved by its inhabitants. There were tableaux with furnishings, paintings and statues of men and women dressed in typical aristocratic clothes of the day. It wasn't glamorous or gilded everywhere ~ that kind of opulence is what you'll find on Isola Bella, should you decide to go there. 2) There is an extensive puppet theatre exhibit in a wing of the palace. At least 6 rooms are devoted to the puppets, scenery and costumes from their theatrical productions. I felt this was truly unique and unexpected. 3) The magnificent Cypress from Kashmir. The tree was restored to standing after a struck down during a storm. Also, the botanical gardens are lovely, and the peacocks and pheasants who make their home on the grounds.

Isola Bella is one of the most stunning destinations on Lake Maggiore 🌊. The baroque palace with its luxurious décor and the beautifully designed gardens full of flowers and fountains create a truly magical atmosphere 🌿🏰. Walking through the palace halls and then exploring the gardens is an unforgettable experience. However, it can get quite crowded with tourists, especially during peak seasons, so visiting early is highly recommended.

The area is blessed with breathtaking nature and stunning lake views ⛰️🌊, along with cozy restaurants, cafes, and small local markets that create a charming atmosphere. Taking the boats to the nearby islands was an unforgettable experience. A perfect spot for relaxation and natural beauty — highly recommended 🌟.

We visited the Sacra Monte with 20 chapels that recreate the life if St Francis of Assisi. Very nice and easy to walk once you drive up. Had great views of the lake island and areas.

Beautiful spot to visit, hike, relax and honestly what ever you feel like to do. There is some much to do here. It's very relaxing to be at as it's not so busy and if it's busy it's easy to get away. Scenery is amazing. Breath taking. Stunning. See pictures. I recommend definitely to try to be on the lake either by boat or kayaks.

What a beautiful place

Lake Orta (Italian: Lago d’Orta) is a lake in northern Italy, west of Lake Maggiore. It has been so named since the 16th century, but was previously called the Lago di San Giulio, after Saint Julius (4th century), the patron saint of the region. Its southern end is about 35 kilometres (22 miles) by rail, to the northwest of Novara on the main Turin-Milan line, while its north end is about 6 kilometres (4 miles) by rail south of the Gravellona-Toce railway station, halfway between Ornavasso and Omegna. Its scenery is characteristically Italian, while the San Giulio island has some very picturesque buildings, and takes its name from the local saint, who lived in the 4th century. Located around the lake are Orta San Giulio, built on a peninsula projecting from the east shore of the lake, Omegna at its northern extremity, Pettenasco to the east, and Pella to the west. It is supposed that the lake is the remnant of a much larger sheet of water by which originally the waters of the Toce flowed south towards Novara. As the glaciers retreated the waters flowing from them reduced, and were gradually diverted into Lake Maggiore. The inaugural European Rowing Championships were held on Lake Orta in 1893. A frequent ferry service connects towns and villages around the lake.

Took train from Biella. Ensure you get return ticket as nothing at Candelo train stop. Walked to Ricetta, about 10 minutes.. Free to enter. Interrstingvstone constructions. You can purchase items within the Ricetta, but we ate outside before going in. Delicious Gelato across the road too. Probably easier if you have a car. Historically interesting.

Beautiful Medieval Town. It's a must. The photos speak for themselves. Don't miss it.

In August, it's mainly empty, Moreover at the beginning of the week. A little veg n fruits stall was open, a collection shop and artist's as well but nothing else. The place was empty. Then you understand it's mainly an attraction and it's not maintained in total respect of its origins. So the place isn't history immersive as it could be.

A wonderfully preserved medieval village. It is well taken care of, you can actually feel the time warp inside here. Loved exploring this place. It was in my to do list but i will be back here..

Stunning medieval borgo, completely maintained in medieval style. Once you enter the tiny Borgo, it's like being transported throughout history to the past. It has some boutiques and taverns to have a full experience of the place. It's really fascinating and a one-of-a-kind experience in the middle of northern Italy.

Took a little detour from the main road between Milan and Turin, a must visit, expect to spend at least 1.5 hr here. Beautifully manicured grounds, and well kept and restored rooms. No audio tours, use guided tour or there is a stand in every room with printed explanations in multiple languages.

Located an hour by car from Turin, open till 6pm on weekdays. Huge free guarded parking, connecting directly to the castle's park. As of August 2024, entrance fee ranges between 10 and 21 eur, depending whether one wants to visit park only, park +castle, or guided tour of both (21eur); payment by card is accepted. A small maze can be found in the park as well

Definitely worth the trip! Go for a guided tour. So much to learn, so many details. Such nice views and a beautiful well kept garden. Coffee shop has good coffee. Another great visit with the tessera FAI.

Definitely worth the visit. It is an old medieval castle that one of the workers said dates back to the year 1002. Lots of the furniture inside dates back to the 1600s and is all original. The day we were there they were removing over 100 pictures from one of the rooms in order to restore it to the state it was in in the 1600s. Behind the pictures you could see the original frescos. In general the inside of the castle is majestic. The kids will enjoy the labyrinth and the castle play ground. The settings is amazing as you are surrounded my the Alps.

This summer residence castle was built for the Queen Margherita of Savoy from 1899 to 2004. It must have been a major undertaking, just like the Margherita refuge that was constructed for her mountain excursions on Monte-Rosa above 4000 m altitude. You are obliged to visit the castle with a guide which will give you all the stories and anecdotes you need to understand what was going on in the royal family in the beginning of the 20th century. I had an excellent and fun guide. The only problem is that you need to have a rather good knowledge of Italian to follow the stories you are told since all guides appear to speak Italian only. When I visited a Friday mid June of 2025, the magnificent interior main stairs were unfortunately under restoration so this section was closed. You had to mount to the first floor via the main tower in a staircase that was used by her guards. The restoration of the castle after it had been purchased by the region of Aosta had managed to recover parts, but far from all of the original furniture. There is one of the rooms on the 1st floor where there are photographs documenting how it looked like in daily life at the time the queen was here as well as of her husband Umberto I. The view from the glassed veranda over parts of Monte-Rosa is exquisite.

In the middle of the mountains, with breathtaking landscapes: the fairytale castle of the queen. The one-hour guided tour tells how the queen decided to build the castle in that small village, the five years it took to complete the work - from 1899 to 1904, how the king never set foot in the castle and the modernization with heating and electricity. From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit to the Castle it takes about an hour by car. Dogs allowed in a carrier. We recommend purchasing one of the many Valle d'Aosta Cards to visit all the sites and castles.

We decided to do the tour. The guide had explained everything about the Castle and the Savoia's family. He was very friendly.

Amazing place to visit in the middle of the mountains. Nothing to do with the very touristic and crowded places. The environment is so peaceful. I could learn a lot from here.

It’s really like a fairy tale castle. Modest price to enter (10€) and you get also a tour guide for the group entrance at the same time. You can walk the grounds at your leisure and enjoy the beautiful landscape and the park. The guide will show you the rooms in the castle and explain a lot of the history. If you’re having a summer holiday in Gressoney, don’t miss to see it, it’s definitely worth it. A couple of hours well spent.

The castle itself is magical, seems like it has been taken out of a fantasy film. Truly beautiful, wonderful scenery in the forest and with Monte Rosa views. We entered the castle for a small fee of a few Euros, but the only way is with a guided tour, which was in Italian so we didn’t understand. It was a shame that the main staircase, supposed to be the most beautiful feature, was in maintenance work. The tour was for an hour and you could not move freely. Despite the subtle disappointment from the tour and maintenance work, the castle was amazing and worth it.

Wonderful house, not really a castle as it’s not fortified. The views of the Monte Rosa massif are the reason the house was built here and they are magnificent. We did a guided tour in Italian only so were a little lacking in detail and had to mostly rely on the short English descriptions in the rooms. One of our party was on crutches at the time of visiting and was finding stairs difficult to negotiate. We enquired about a lift and were told there was one. There was indeed a lift but it was not working - quite annoying and no refund or reduction was offered. On balance worth a visit particularly with older kids as they get a fantastic reduction. Senior citizens on the other hand get no concession whatsoever.

I must have travelled the freeway below this massive fort controlling the narrow passage between the steep and dangerous mountain sides more than a hundred times over the past 30 years without reflecting on what you might find inside. This time I took a day trip from home in Switzerland with the aim to discover this surprisingly interesting place steeped in history lasting over 800 years. It's now owned and administered by the region of Aosta and houses 6 museums, a large museum shop, a cozy 11 room hotel and restaurant as well as a café. If you buy a simple entrance ticket you will access two exhibitions of your choice, if you want to see all six museums, the price is about double the ordinary entrance fee. There is ample parking around the castle, the near-most being paying. Access is either via an ingenious series of funiculars or by foot on a winding road. Avoid visiting on a busy day not to spend your time waiting to access the funicular system. I came on a Friday afternoon mid May 2025 and was surrounded by 15 year olds trying to learn Italian history, not the most serene situation. You do need a full day to fully appreciate the place so I will come back to spend a night here before touring the premises.

So much to see here! There are 5? main buildings, each housing different museums and (temporary, rotating) art exhibits. Costs €12 to visit 2 of any things of your choice or €24 to visit everything. But you can visit all the exterior fort for free! This is definitely worth it if you want a quick look and get a good view from the top of the Fort. If you want to visit the museums, you'll need a few hours to spare! Our 2 choices were both in the Carlo Alberto building (at the top). We did the Museum of the Alps which has SO MUCH to see, and quite the diversity of history and information. This took us 2 hours and we didnt look too closely at half of it. Could definitely take 2-4 hours depending on your interests. Absolutely 1 of the best ways to spend a solid chunk of your day here. 2nd, we did the prisons downstairs in the same building. This was cool but much quicker (like 30 mins). It was a toss up between the prison and the Ferdinando building at the bottom.. unsure what all that offers or the time it takes to visit. In total we spent about 3 hours here, and could have spent much longer if we got the full package. Lots of history here and offers a neat view of the valley. I would recommend it, but again, you'll need time if you want to visit any museums. I personally didnt care to visit any of the art exhibitions. From what I've gathered, they kind of have nothing to do with the Fort itself, so didnt seem worth any of my 2 choices.

Have you even been to Valle d’Aosta if you haven’t visited Forte di Bard? The structure is just impressive in its size and location! Inside is pretty bare, but the museums and exhibits are super interesting.

The castle is beautiful, no doubt there. However, we wanted to take a quick walk within the walls, and there is unfortunately no ticket allowing you to just stroll around. You have to purchase a ticket for 12e which allows you to enter 2 out of 6 available exhibitions/ “museums”. Maybe it would not be that frustrating if a couple in front of us wasnt allowed to enter for free by stating “we only came for a walk” in italian. We checked the japanese exhibition which was rather mediocre, not much to learn from it. We would appreciate some story behind and more descriptions behind the pictures. The other exhibitions was the prisons which was more interesting - you can see the real prison rooms and how the castle was evolving over time.

The fortress is well maintained and houses a rich permanent exhibition (about forts and fortresses throughout history), as well as interesting temporary exhibitions. Entrance tickets: - €12 for visiting the fortress itself and two exhibitions - €24 for visiting five exhibitions Both tickets include access to the lifts. The ticket price is absolutely worth it.

This is the pinnacle of Matterhorn visit for any tourist. The highest cable car station with temperatures hoovering around sub zeros. Here you have three basic options one to visit the panoramic 360 view tower through a lift, second you can walk on the glacier upto the hiking trail to Breithorn and third you can the glacier cave by foot with mesmerising snow sculptures, crevices of glaciers to view live, and a walk through the sub zero temperature. You can easily spend atleast half a day but last of the cable car being at 6 p.m.

I definitely recommend, there activities for the whole day! First go to the top, enjoy the view and snow, you can climb the mountain if you want, enjoy Ice Palace, then. Go slowly down, there is lots of trails , lakes, there is amazing restaurants with the breathtaking view. I started 8.30 and came back to hotel 6pm... It worth every penny!

Overall, this is a great ride up close to the mountain. There’s a bunch of activities to do once you reach Klein Matterhorn. The cable car ride itself is worth the price because of how high it takes you and the views you get. However, if I compare this to Jungfraujoch I felt like our experience was much better in Jungfrau. If you’re in Zermatt though, this is what I’d recommend going for vs Gornergrat.

Wow...we were not sure when we arrived on Sunday evening as it was raining and we could not see anything. We decided to do the glacier paradise which was the best decision. Going up, we ran into heavy clouds and snow, we could barely see 4 m in front of us. The cable car was awesome. There is an ice castle with ice art, amazing stuff. Take extremely warm clothing, it gets below 5 degrees there. There is a good coffee and food shop, with other stuff like gifts, etc. There was snow so we got to play in the snow. The view point was closed unfortunately due to the heavy winds and the matterhorn was not visible. Overall, I'll do it again. And, ALWAYS GET A FULL OR HALF PASS DEPENDING ON HOW LONG YOU PLAN TO STAY. Half pass for short stays, full pass for longer stays.

Climbing the glacier at 3004 meters above sea level was an unforgettable experience. An elevator can also be taken down to a cave with ice images, part of which is located in Italy. The platform is with the elevator up and in good weather you can see an unforgettable view of the Matterhorn.

Matterhorn Glacier Paradise was absolutely amazing. Easy gondola ride up from town, and the views at the top are insane. You’re surrounded by glaciers and massive peaks, and you can even spot mountaineers and skiers out on the snowfields. We hiked the Matterhorn Glacier Trail partway down, and the scenery was nonstop. Alpine lakes, rocky terrain, and the Matterhorn in the background the whole way. Easily one of the highlights of our trip to Zermatt.

Absolutely mind-blowing experience. I cannot recommend this enough, especially if you choose a day with perfect weather. The views are stunning from top to bottom. The Glacier paradise doesn't disappoint, the statues are amazing!

This is my 3rd trip to ski Cervinia. First time I actually stayed 7 days in town. I had a group of 8 people and we all agreed we would definitely go back. The town was easy to get around. Had plenty to do before and after skiing. The people were very friendly. The food was fantastic. The hotel was fantastic! The skiing and weather was second to none. Definitely plan on returning. A+ all the way around...

Perfect ski resort. Very recomemded especialy for beginners. The town itself is small and very nice, but not a real apre ski atmosphere. I advise to find a place to stay close to the Cretaz lift.

The best landscape ever: the Matterhorn is superbe, Les Grand Murailles are impressive, on the Plateau Rosa glacier you feel like touching the sky.

Cervino Ski Paradise is truly one of my favorite ski resorts in the world. The slopes are incredibly well-maintained, the views of the mountains are breathtaking, and there’s a perfect mix of runs for all levels. The lifts are fast and efficient, and the whole area has a wonderful alpine charm that makes every day on the snow a joy. The only thing I wish could be improved is accessibility for younger skiers and snowboarders: it would be amazing if prices were a bit more affordable for those under 30, making it easier for more people to experience this incredible place. Still, despite that, Cervino remains an unforgettable destination for any snow season lover.

Nice ski resort with great views especially the Matterhorn. Was very warm beginning of April so the snow became very wet and heavy early afternoon but this was to be expected for the time of year. Great skiing for beginners and intermediates. Some flat and uphill sections would benefit from a magic carpet or rope pull

Good number of runs across all levels and the ability to ski over at Zermatt as well is definitely a plus. Just be mindful of the time and not miss the last lift up to be back over at the Italian side as it can be a costly affair to miss the last lift back! View at the top is amazing!

Nature is so beautiful, lots of marked trails for hikers and so clean. It is a stunning experience and such a lovely place, recommended for both hikers and those who are not. Train ride up there is around 40 minutes from Zermatt if you are planning to go all the way up, or a bit less if you are planning to hike a bit till the top station.

Phenomenal - very beautiful mountain surrounded by very beautiful landscapes and a great small cozy town, Zermatt🤩. I was there in July 2023 and it was amazing. We had lunch at the restaurant in Schwarzee which was also with a very good view of Matterhorn and the surroundings. I can truly recommend going here, for sure!

This is an awesome mountain. Really steep on the cable car (what do you expect people who have put too steep) and nice and cool from the warm temperatures below (as you'd expect being 4000m above sea level).

Beautiful mountain scenery and cute sheeps. On Matterhorn, the sheep season was already over in October. But we were lucky to find sheeps on the hills west of Zermatt :)

Probably the icon you could think about Switzerland! Spent 3 days in Zermatt, found it not too difficult to have a look towards the peak as the distance and altitude is not that far away. Rifflesee (Gornergrat area) gives the best view with a mirroring lake surface. The 5 lakes hike in Sunnegga is also spectacular. Both hikes are easy and almost all downhill if you hop off the cable cars from higher stations.

In my experience it was way better than Jungfrau. My family loved it. You can take the tram to the second to last stop and start walking down along the track for a beautiful view of the lake, the top of the mountain, the valley.

Very well restored castle in western Italy. Visit is by your only which seems to leave every half hour. Out guide did not speak English but tried nevertheless very hard to accommodate us, which was not an issue because there are good explanation signs at each stop. A very interesting historical site dating back to the 1200's.

Well preserved castle in a beautiful area in north italy (Aosta). Visiting is by guided tour only. The tour is in Italian, and you can rent audio translation aids. The tour takes about 40-45 minutes and walks through most main chambers of the castle. The art is well preserved. Recommended stop on your way to the Italian Alps.

A classic pentagonal fortress, with towers and walls, long abandoned and used by the locals as a warehouse until its restoration, commissioned by an architect on behalf of the State. The large fireplace in the center of the castle is beautifully designed taking into account the cold and the need to keep the interior warm. The visit lasts about an hour, guided only, with numerous insights into the history of the castle and small peculiarities of the past, such as the almost sitting position during the night's rest so as not to be mistaken for a deceased person or the small faces engraved on the towers to keep evil spirits away. Dogs allowed in a carrier. It is recommended to purchase one of the many tourist cards of the Aosta Valley to be able to visit all the sites and castles of the region.

Stunning from the outside. Pretty basic and repetitive on the inside. Rooms are not decorated, but display a loooot of wooden chests. Only visitable with Italian guide, every half hour. English audiotour available, which provides similar info as the panels in the rooms. You need to give them your id to get a audiotour.

Elegant castle from the 12th century and now owned and administered by the province of Aosta. It has been completely restored from being close to a ruin, including the many indoor and outside paintings depicting religious and noble figures. You cannot visit the castle on your own and have to wait till a guide becomes available which precludes too many people inside the premises at one time. There is a lot to be learnt about how nobles lived and traveled during past centuries including why three legged chairs were used to avoid tipping over on the uneven floor surfaces. It made me remember growing up on the tree legged chair "the ant" designed by the famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen in the 1950-s. So nothing is really new under the sun...

Interesting history. You must go inside only with a tour, no self guided tours. Amazing artwork frescoes.

A unique experience, the castle is located on a hill with breathtaking views. Inside, it still has items from its time.

Very good quality starters (cold cuts and cheeses) typical from Italy and Spain. We chose Pasta (very Well cooked) accompanied with an artisanal beer. Nice desserts and friendly staff. We loved it. Didn’t give 5 starts because the restaurant itself is not “wow”, just a simple cozy bottega. But food-wise definitely worth it!!

Had a wonderful lunch with the family today. I definitely recommend the cured meats and cheeses platters, as well as the tagliatelle with culatello and parmesan! But generally speaking we were satisfied with the food and wine. The location is cosy, especially the 'underground' area. Service is nice, and you can purchase most of the products you have enjoyed after eating (which we definitely have done!) - we will come back!

The food was amazing, we tried the cheese and ham plate, that was really good. Beyond that, we tasted the tagliatelle and the polenta that were excellent. But, unfortunately, our experienced was affected by one staff that didn’t treat us very welcoming when we tried to get a table in the restaurant.

Delicious lunch here, a cute little 7 seat restaurant with wonderful local dishes and an amazingly inexpensive wines by the glass list. I only wish we had more of an appetite so we could have tried some of the meats and cheeses they had in their shop, but the tagliolini with butter, parm and white truffles was perfect, and the polenta in the La Carbonade was one of the best I’ve had!

A little pricey and they won't serve you tap water : you have to buy an expensive bottle. Other than that, great food and nice staff!

Amazing food and wine plus 10/10 service - our favourite meal of the week hands down. If you are in Aosta this is a must!

Great museum with beautiful grounds and park. We visited the museum for the special exhibit, from Renoir to Van Gogh. The exhibit was very interesting with many unique paintings. The regular exhibits of antique cars was very educational. The collection of photos of Giannadda definitely worth visiting.

The Tintin exhibition was incredible! The cars were a welcome surprise The employees are very friendly and a student ticket only costs 12 chf. Lovely museum shop. The coffee shop was gorgeoooouuus though I didnt have time for it

Unique venue, worth a visit. The TinTin collection was interesting. The vintage car collection was ok. Temporary exhibit of Armand Hammer collection probably presented not the best works of Vincent Van Gogh.

It is a luxurious collection of old cars and paintings. Unfortunately, all of the exhibitions and annotations are only in French.

Very nice museum, small but cute. There is an exhibition that changes time to time, and two areas dedicated to the main characters of the museum. There is also one area with the cars of the beginning of 20th century. There are 2 cafeterias, one indoor, very cute (like a step back in time), and one outside in the garden, where it is really pleasant to sit and enjoy the park and the weather. The park is also interesting, with pieces of art of various artists placed here and there. Suggested.

The museum is not big, but has such an eclectic variety of collections that's its a very entertaining way to pass an hour - no matter what you're interested in. There's a potted collection of roman artifacts, early cars, contemporary sculpture and decorative arts. The Cafe in the sculpture garden is a great place for a leisurely aperitif or on a sunny day. The history of Roman Martigny is well explained in French and German, but most other signage is in French only.

I took a friend there to see the vintage car collection and we were happy with the visit except for the very rude staff member called Martine. I was telling my friend about how Anker used red in most of his paintings as told during my previous guided tour. Martine then said very loudly about me being too close to the painting which is impossible because of the barrier. They can easily get their surveillance cameras to see that I was no where near paintings. She then said very loudly in French to another customer that 'some people don't understand anything ' in French, referring to me. Now that I can no longer find my previous review also about her rudeness, I guess she remembers me. My friend's first thought was her being racist, but I sincerely hope not. It was such a shame that how a rude staff member can totally spoil an almost perfect experience. Honestly, she should not be working there.

Ski trip in mid february. Here a detailed review: Arrival: I stayed in Val Claret, the road up was clear and only on some parts covered with ice/snow. If there was recent snowfall, caution is advised. I liked that there is also a ski run going through the town of Val. Ski runs: Now the ski area Tignes-Val d'Isère is pretty big and you have lots of variation. About 75-80% of all runs are above the treeline. There are a lot of kids areas (in every town), lots beginner areas (around the Borsat chairlift and Solaise). For experts there are plenty of ski runs: the stade olympice/face de bellewarde (can be very icy), the foret, la Sache, Chicherit, Aiguille Percée. The Tunnel (near Leissieres) was sadly closed due to lack of snow) You have some pretty long ski runs as well: skiing all the way down from Grande Motte to Val Claret, from Aiguille Percée to Les Brevières, from Cugnai to Laisinant, from Borsat chairlift to Val d'Isère or Daille and from Col de l'Iseran to Fornet. My favorite runs were: blue Génépy & black Descente on Grande Motte, blue Grattalu, blue Anemone, black La Sache (upper section, the lower section was very icy), black La Foret and of course the famous offpiste run "Vallée Perdue". This last run is pretty adventurous and shouldnt be missed (you should be an advanced skier though). Snow Conditions: Due to the higher elevation it was very snow secure, though there were still some spots where the wind blow off the snow. The weather was blue sky and sun for 6 days, so ski runs sadly tend to become very icy, especially steeper runs under 2000m elevation. Lift infrastructure: The ski area is excellent interconnected, though compared to other european ski areas, you wont find any of those hyper modern bubble chair lifts. There are still some painfully slow and rough chair lifts, like Col des Ves, Grand Huit and Cema. Crowding: I learned to NEVER again come to the french alps on saturday mid february. The roads were full of traffic jams (Lyon-Albertville-Moutiers) and the drive took 3h longer than expected. Mostly british and dutch tourists. Tignes-Val d'Isère was the most crowded I've ever experienced in any ski area and I've been before in ski resorts in switzerland and austria at the same holiday period. There were lines up to 15min at some chairlifts. On the ski runs, especially the main runs down to the valley it was more like an obstacle course to avoid colliding with others. Then there were the ski schools, there were just too many of them. Even in the Vallée Perdue, I encountered a ski school. During lunch time it calmed a bit down and there was a window for a less crowded ski run. Staff: The staff at the lifts and desks were all very nice and helpful. When buying a ski pass via the Val d'Isère app, the machine wont get you your pass in Tignes, even though the ski area is connected, one of the guys easily helped me out and was really nice. The staff at the lifts were all cool except the guy at the bottom of Merles chairlift (at 3pm last tuesday), he was rudely yelling at me, stressing, even though there was no reason and there was no line of people behind. I signaled him to chill down and he became menacing. Pricing: The prices were in the middle to upper level. The ski pass for 5 days is around 355€. A little takeaway burger can be around 18€, a 1l beer is 21€ (!!). Its certainly not a place if you want to eat/drink on a budget. Scenery: The landscape is amazing, you can see Mont Blanc. Also check out the Aiguille Percée arch and the Vallee Perdue canyon (if you are a good skier). To even more enjoy the landscape you can even do a tandem ULM flight. I think though some people might prefer a bit more forested hills, if the weather would be foggy I bet its easily a whiteout in the ski area. *Verdict*: ++ variety of runs & area size + beginner & expert offer + nice offer of activities outside of skiing (ULM flight, Bungee ski jump, sledding etc.) - pricey ski area (especially concerning food drinks and hotels) -- can be severely crowded during school breaks

I Love Tignes, I Stay Here Twice For A Seasonal Work In Winter, I Was Taken Away On How Kind And Lovely The Local Was. I Was Taken Away On How Beautiful The Area Is And I Use To Love Walking Around The Le Lac After Work Before Season Started. Tignes Is A Very Picturesque Place And It A Photographer Dream Location. I Was Lucky Enough To Be Goving Opportunity To Come In October And Catch The Last End Of Autumn Which Was Beautiful. I Feel Tignes Will Alway Hold A Place In My Heart.

It’s a shame that ski passes are sold with the Carré Neige insurance, which turns out to be useless when you actually need it. There’s no point in offering a service that borders on a scam. The ski resort itself, as always, is excellent.

Wonderful place at an altitude of 2100 m. Lots of sports activities including summer skiing. Mentally I struggle a bit with the fact that every hotel wants parking for a not so small fee. But that's just France. ⛰️🇫🇷

A wonderful ski station with fantastic views and an enormous number of slopes for all levels. Also there are plenty of activities to do apart from skiing and a good infrastructure. Tignes application is very useful. I highly recommend Tignes as a ski resort !

A breathtaking journey to the highest peak in the Alps on the Italian-French border Starting from the Italian city Courmayeur, a charming town 1,300 meters above sea level, I began my ascent via the Skyway Monte Bianco. I purchased a round-trip ticket for €63.5 at the main station. Punta Helbronner (3,467 m): The final destination was magical. The temperature dropped to around 1.8°C with a light wind, making it refreshingly crisp. From here, a 92-meter below a tunnel leads to a ski station and an open-air restaurant. I made my way to the top terrace—what a view! Standing above the clouds with 360° views of the Alps was an indescribably beautiful and humbling experience. Breathtaking panoramic views of the highest mountain in Europe. Even though I was there at a pretty cloudy day, view was just one of its kind. I was disappointed that the triple cable car was open only one way to France, and nobody could return (because of different regulations).

Wonderful day trip in summer up this mountain via cable car. Don't miss the Refugio and the area covered in snow beside the Refugio.

Stunning views of mountain peaks, an entire glass wall dedicated to local gemstones alongside a view of Mont Blanc and a lovely little cafe where you can sip quality coffee while you admire the peaks! Even though during my visit there were quite a few clouds, the various platforms and views from this height were spectacular. It does get cold at the top observation deck (since you are standing around) so I would recommend an ultralight down! To get around the observation decks (external) you do need to do some stairs, but the building (internal) itself with the cafe and viewing areas is fully accessible! From this point, you could pay for the additional trip on the Mont Blanc Panoramic cable car that takes you over to Aiguille du Midi! I would also recommend going early- so you get fewer clouds and crowds!

Just out of this world experience. The views are absolutely stunning. The facilities are amazing considering the height. Multiple decks for panoramic views. Do keep in mind that the oxygen level will be low and some might feel a bit dizzy. Once in a life time experience,

Your amazing ride starts in the center of chamonix, there you will take the most thrilling cable car ride if you life. With the best views, grass that turns u to snow, and trees that turn into massive cliffs. Aguille du midi is a must for everyone. The views at the top are truly out of this world and make you seem so small. Would recommend to everyone visiting chamonix. Give out of five stars

Excellent view of the Alps from here. We were fortunate that the sky were clear. The view is better than the one we experienced in Jungfraujoch.

Wow!!! Just stunning. Exceptional views 360. Will do again. Review will not do any justice. You just have to go. Nice cafe as well. Stairs from elevator to cafe was a bit of a drag in the thin air. Wife’s lips turned purple from lack of oxygen. Be aware of the signs.

Incredible view . The beauty is breathtaking. You can see the highest peak in Europe from afar. Many people paragliding here. It is a must-visit place in life.

The cable bus from the Chamonix city with a change over in between takes you to the peak of Aiguille du Midi. This peak is exactly in the border of France and Italy. A 20 minutes journey of ten each takes you to the peak. To see the mont blanc, you have to take a pass like temporary visa to the italian side and from the peak to which a lift is taking you, you can see the mont blanc. There is also a glass cage with dead drop bottom. The view from the top is magnificient. It takes you to the view of entire iced surroundings. The mont blanc is the highest peak of Alps. More famous for limited edition pen. They are allowing a total of 2 and half hours to see and come back. On a sunny day, the views are beautiful. The climate is sometimes minus in the peak

Amazing experience. They give you a paper to indicate you have a time to get off the mountain to avoid rushes. Even though it was for 1.5 hours as the recommended time, we spent close to 4 hours (with about 1.5 hours for queuing for the glass dome alone). This was an unforgettable experience and highly recommended.

The ski resort is very large and you can have fun regardless of your skiing level. There are also many hiking trails that allow for wonderful snowshoe hikes. The natural surroundings and views are fantastic.

Arguably one of the ugliest ski resorts in the French alps, however, this is in stark contrast to the excellent ski area, fast lifts and varied terrain. If you are an avid skier or snowboarder this is one of if not the best resort in the alps to visit.

This was my first time skiing in the Alps. I highly recommend this resort to all skiers ⛷️ and snowboarders. You will love the slopes, people, and food.

Amazing ski resort! Several ski slopes and many possibilities for other activities. The bobsleigh descent is unforgettable.

Beautiful well designed apartments for skiers and walkers (depending on the season). Beautiful views of the mountains and lifts (depending on which side you're on I suppose). The apartments are compact but with 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bunks and a double sofa bed, with ease you could fit 8 people in ours. Galley style kitchen is best suited to one person cooking at a time so pre-plan to share the cooking duties if possible. Good extractor fan and each apartment is well appointed with plates and cutlery for 16 (2 meals a day) and a dishwasher as well as breakfast bowls and a host of utensils. We were only short a grater and a potato masher (apparently not French essentials). There a multiple lifts to various parts of the buildings as well as a lot of basement bootrooms/lockers to store your boots and skis and keep your apartment dry. The complex has a code entry to the pool, when you want access - daytime only (closes at 7) and no access on Saturday (change over day) with a new code each week. A 5 minute walk to the local Spar shop makes this a very convenient location with a Restaurant next door to the Spar as well as one opposite the entrance to Lagranges. The Ski and board hire shop is spitting distant from the complex check-in with convenient ski racks located around to stash your skis whilst you buy passes or snacks. The ski-pass system is very flexible at the resort with options for beginners being circa €35 a day, half day options, full resort passes, multi-resort passes and a pedestrian access pass to access the top of glacier via bubble lift for only €8! Superb. The resort is at 1800m so well above the snowline with easy access up to 3000m for fresher snow more often. Snowed again just as we left so if you're looking right now it's perfect for a last minute get away (9/01/23) enjoy! Back again for New Year 2024 - snowed every day so far and the trails are well groomed. Swimming Pool has been renovated as well as the wooden features across the resort.

Great ski resort especially if your using a motorhome parked right next to the main run back to La Plagne. Electric at the end of every row (which didnt trip once) and water is located at a hut at the entrance of site (short slippery walk). The while of thus network is mostly made up of about 70% blues 25% Reds and 5%blacks although many of the blues are more red like. Some great places to eat around the area but it is pricey.. €9-11 a pint !!! Food is around normally UK prices. The roads leading up the mountain to Villages was always mint ( the French know how todo it) the only time we had to put chains on was at the start of the aire as its not as well maintained as the main roads. I'd defo go back to this site and la plagne.

The online capacity viewer was a little out of date and we had to wait to get in. Once in, lockers require either a 1 or 2 euro coin which is returned. The changing room is mixed gender with individual booths that are double sided, so you are fighting against people getting out of the pool to use one as well as other people wanting to get in. The pool itself is just a pool with a few jacuzzi like areas, a lazy river and a half pipe style slide. There is also a kiddy area, although I didn't use this. My over arching feeling was that it didn't measure up to its own hype. The pool's one redeeming feature is that they do not enforce the ridiculous French pool rule about men only being allowed to wear the skimpiest of swimsuits!

A great place to spend a few hours. It was warm and clean in the changing rooms with lots of locker space and the complex wasn’t too busy for the first couple of hours of our visit and got busier as the afternoon went on. The water temp inside on a cold day in the main pool was slightly chilly so it’s worth having a towel but a perfect temp in the outside jacuzzi and splash park sections. We drove up from Saint Gervais as day guests on a cold wet day during the Easter holidays and it was the ideal rainy day activity for about 3 hours as we drove up out of the rain into snow and winter wonderland. The half pipe is really fun and the lazy river is great. If there was a big slide or two as well this place would be absolutely perfect. My kids are 8 & 10 and enjoyed trying to crack the climbing wall. When you could get space in the outside jacuzzi that was also a highlight as it began to snow. I would say it’s perfectly suited for toddlers and small kids and a fun activity for a family outing with older kids for an afternoon.

It’s colder than you would like it to be. There are no towels as well, and no private showers, so if you hve something planned for after, allow time to go home first. For 12 euros, walk in (they don’t take bookings) and unlimited time inside, it’s fair, the slide is good fun, there’s a long wait but it’s an extra I wasn’t expecting for. I probably won’t be back, manly cause the temperature is too cold to be enjoyable. It said 31° but I doubt (just saw other reviews complaining about the same)

Great experience just could be a tad warmer! Kids didn't mind the water temp just the adults!

A nice break from skiing, this pool is perfect for going when the weather is too bad to ski. Some lazy river routes, pools to swim and fun for the kids. There's even an outside jacuzzi. Can be quite busy, the only downside was children throwing snow at each other and splashing in the outside pool with no life guard or parents to tell them to stop - this was quite off-putting so I'm only rating it 4*. Changing rooms ok, a bit small cubicle sizes. Overall ok, it's the only water park pool in the area so I can't be picky.

Great value in the summer when quiet. Almost limitless goes on the u bend slide. Clean, warm and with good water jets.

What an amazing experience if you are feeling stiff and need some tlc pop in the pool and the jet hose help the tiered legs out a treat and the water halfpipe is good fun for all ages highly recommend an afternoon chilling in there

Avoriaz is, without a doubt, the best ski resort we’ve ever been to — and that’s saying a lot after more than 30 years of skiing! Everything is designed for maximum comfort, with ski-in/ski-out access from almost everywhere. The resort is fully pedestrian, which makes getting around incredibly easy and safe. The staff is genuinely kind and helpful, and to our surprise, we haven’t had to queue at all for the chairlifts — even during busy hours. And the snow? Absolutely amazing, even at the very end of the season. We’ll definitely be coming back — and recommending Avoriaz to everyone we know!

This beautiful ski resort is very active in the summer with plenty for the family to stay active. Whether mountain biking, hiking giant games of checkers, chess and tennis plus trampoline. The aquatic center is an excellent family swim . The beautiful French Alps surrounding the town

Great skiing resort. We went over new year so was a bit busy but also great New Years Eve celebrations and midnight fireworks were amazing. All staff we talked to ( in hotel, restaurants, shops etc ) were lovely and friendly. Would recommend for 1st time skiers , families or someone who likes ski fun parks too

Love Avoriaz. It’s like home - a nice friendly place. Resort is great, slopes are fantastic. Its can get overcrowded at vacation time and some places are overpriced but overall its a great place for a skiing holiday. No cars in the resort, only horse-drawn carriages which gives it a special atmosphere, along with the wood-covered buildings which blend into the countryside.

What a lovely ski resort in French Alps. Beautiful place with no cars alowed. By winter, there is a taxi from centre, horse pulled sleigh. They give you a blanket to cover legs, so you could not catch a cold 🙃 I will come back in summer, to see again this paradise!

Lovely and wintery with snow all around in this high altitude snow sure resort. Cars aren't allowed in the town so it's safe to walk around too. A bit artificial in feel though compared with nearby more traditional resorts, partly due to its newness, so this may make it feel less homely and welcoming in the summer. Wonderful in the winter though. Great skiing too.

Truly memorable place, great people (one or two not so good!) totally ski in/ ski out place scenery to die for and something for everyone from the beginners to the more experienced skiers. Bars and restaurants great apart from a certain Italian! Booking our return trip!

Nice ride up to just above the Bionnasay Glacier. The website sucks bigtime but don't let that withhold you from a beautiful day in the mountainbike.

Nice mountain and train but the staff insisted on all non climbers into one carriage so that we had to stand even though the other carriage had loads of space. They actually stopped us getting on the carriage with plenty of space

Worth the trip!! Great hiking at the upper stations.

Took this trip to explore more of the Mont Blanc range and wasn't disappointed. Incredible journey up the side of the mountains, sharing the trip with mountaineers who were off to the summit. Good choice of walks from the top - clothing for cooler weather & good footwear essential.

Fantastic, very touristy nowadays but there are still some hidden gems that are quiet but you’ll need a car to find them (one was through an industrial estate so very hidden). Restaurants are great and people very friendly

This would have been beautiful in the right weather. It was just our luck that we arrived in the height of Summer, at the end of a heatwave and were met with heavy rain and thunderstorms o the water didn't have its famous greenish-blue hue. It is a lovely natural beauty surrounded by mountains.

I was just remembering how much we loved it there last year. My son and I rented bikes and went all around the lake. We also got a pedal boat and took a swim. Saw some young people doing a rope swing jump and did that too. Fabulous.

I took a day trip from Lyon, a great place, I'm sorry I only stayed one day, it's definitely worth 2-3 days! A place not to be missed if you're in the area!

It is a MUST to go, partying, water scakating, swimming and lots of boat cruises around the great lake surrounded by magnificent mountains. 30 min away and your up amongst snowy mountains as early as September.

If you’re in Geneva, this is a great place to visit! The view is amazing and you can see all of Geneva from above. We went up the mountain on the cable car, if you have a Swiss pass or a student you can get a discount. You may also choose to hike up or down the mountain. On the level you will exit the cable car on, there’s a cafe, gift shop, interactive activities, bathrooms and an outside area. From this outside area, you may choose to hike further up the mountain or explore the area, there are some restaurants a short hike from this area. The cafe has coffee, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, baked goods, pastries, sandwiches and small bites. There’s an indoor sitting area with couches and table and chairs. You can sit, have a coffee and admire the view in the warmth of the cafe. There’s gift shop has some cute things for purchase such as key rings, candles, keepsakes, pens, stuffed animals etc. They also offer a disposable ash tray and alcohol wipes for free. If you choose to stay on the Saleve facility, there is a lift and stairs to go up to the other levels/facilities. There’s an outdoor 360 platform on the top level where the view is even more amazing, your head will literally be in the clouds! You will need to scan your ticket from the cable car to access it. On the middle level there is a restaurant and conference rooms. The restaurant offers a ‘menu’ which is a set menu where you can choose between 2 options for each course. It was fully booked so we were unable to try it but it was surprisingly reasonably priced! To go back down, the cable car runs every 15 minutes. This is the second time we’ve done this!

I took dog with me. We enjoyed the Landscape enormesly. Paths and that's are bit worn so good shoes are necessary. Views are breathtaking.

Some decent viewpoints on top. The hike from all the way down to the top was a bit disappointing. Paths on southern side was not very nice and some trash lying around here and there. The more popular path, on the side of the cable cart was a bit better. The hike from Mornex was 2 hrs up and 1:15 down, about 800 m elevation in total. I didn't like that there are roads and private areas everywhere all the way to the top.

A short walk across the French border is a mountain frequented by locals of Geneva. We were afraid of going to Mont Blanc because of the altitude. It was a great trip!

A great spot for scenic panoramic views of Geneva and of the Alps. From Geneva you can get a local bus to the French border, walk a short distance to the cable car which will take you to the top of the mountain, and you can trek the short distance the rest of the way along the mountain to its highest point. It’s also possible to tandem paraglide down off the mountain if you organise it in advance, definitely worth doing

Outstanding experience hiking your way up the Salève. You will be exposed to marvellous landscapes and enjoying the vibrating and diversified nature. The path is well maintained and offers different possibilities. Breath the clear air and enjoy the day. Definitely recommended 👌.
