Beishan Park

Beautiful park with lots of activities. At the bottom there are locals dancing, singing, having a good time.. it is so lively. Walk further up the hill and you will encounter temples and shrines to explore. Local vendors line the path with food and drinks. At the very top you will have an amazing view of the city and the countryside behind. Visit at night for a completely different experience. A truly unmissable landmark of Jilin. Highly recommended.

Worth it to spend an hour or two in winter. The first you will encounter when you enter is a plaza with locals playing around and spending quality time. When I visit in winter the park is bustling with activities for kids and adults like ski, snow sled, ice-skating, even snow tubing. A train rail still in use (see a coal train passing by on my visit) cross the park which is quite interesting. If you're not into activities, there are also a few temples perched on small hill inside the park worth exploring.

(Translated by Google) Jingyue Lake consists of a reservoir and an artificial forest. The place is so vast that it may take more than ten hours to circumnavigate the Jingyuetan Reservoir. The scenery of lakes, mountains and forest trails. I visited after the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2018, and it was drizzling. From the main entrance of the Goddess Square, go east to Qingsong Ridge and west to Yihongzun. The scenery along the pond and reservoir dam is better. Along the driveway, the scenery is poor. I occasionally saw red and yellow autumn leaves along the way, but not many. On the contrary, the lotus and weeping willow garden has the best view of the lake and trees, with a strong autumn mood. In summer, lotuses fall slowly, white birches are golden, autumn maples are crimson, and Changpu reeds and black rocks are solitary and clear. There are entrances and exits in the southeast and west of Jingyuetan. Only the main entrance (Jingyuetan Park Station) and the west gate (Ski Resort Station) are close to the light rail station. Private cars can purchase tickets to enter Jingyuetan. There are sightseeing buses in the area, priced at 10 yuan per trip. In the morning, I eagerly made my way to Beiling Park. The vibrant sunflowers were in full bloom, creating a breathtaking sight with their brilliant colors. The park was adorned with an abundance of these cheerful flowers, forming a magnificent sea of blossoms. To explore this natural wonder, I entered through the east gate of the park and marveled at its beauty. My desire was to capture this spectacle on my iPhone and share it with others.
Why can't I be the first one to review somewhere ? The east gate of the park. I want to review on iPhone.

Visited on a chilly Friday morning so very few tourists. Peaceful and huge. Locals were out dancing, walking and doing various group activities. The tomb was wonderful to wander aroundwithout crowds. I recommend this. I loved the animal statues and decorative features. I was turned away from some exhibits because I didn't have a ticket for that specific part. The squirrels were excellent. But I did leave accidentally through a side entrance and had to walk for ages to get back to the main entrance to find my bearings. Listen out for the jet engine testing nearby.

Mukden Palace, also known as Shenyang Palace in China, is a grand and intricate palace complex that dates back to 1625. It was the residence of the Qing dynasty rulers until 1644 and now serves as a museum showcasing historical art and crafts. With its resemblance to a smaller Forbidden City, this impressive complex features 114 buildings including ornate ceremonial halls, imperial living quarters, and even a royal baby cradle.
Buy tickets with your passport, rent the English language audio guide which automatically knows where you are in the complex. It's a wonderful site but was being closed the following day for restoration so check when open again. It's busy but possible to find quiet corners. Buy souvenirs here...saw old school Communist memorabilia in shops near the palace and regret not buying them.
F M — Google review
This was the imperial palace of the early Qing dynasty and the first 3 Qing emperors lived there from 1625 to 1644. Within the grounds are the work, living and recreation chambers of the royal family. The architecture and furnishing reflected the Han, Manchu and Mongolian ethnic influences. Beautiful, exquisite and intricate. Well worth a visit
CK C — Google review
A beautifully preserved palace rich in history and culture. The architecture is stunning, with intricate designs and vibrant colors. Each hall tells a story of the Qing Dynasty. Well-maintained and informative, it’s a must-visit in Shenyang for history lovers and photographers alike. We really had a great time here where we could witness rich history of Qing dynasty and culture.
Mayur S — Google review
Good to visit the same Qing palace as in Beijing, although is smaller but still huge, can easily spend half a day here, and as it as popular as the forbidden city in Beijing, here is less crowded, and in summer it is definitely more cooler as well. Alot of shops offer costumes and make up for photo taking.
Will T — Google review
The history of this place is amazing. Next time I will definitely follow the guidance regarding how much time you could spend there. As I had other commitments I needed to rush through the rooms and buildings, still it was worth it. Remember to bring your passport with you, they will check it when buying a ticket. Plenty of cafes inside to have a rest. Avoid public holidays if possible as it gets really crowded.
Iwona M — Google review
Lots of history and amazing view into the life of Manchu culture and rulers. The grounds can take a good 3-4 hours to cover them all, so hydrate for the summer heat and dress warm in winter, but we'll worth the visit regardless of the season. Stunning achitecture, unique furnishings, and impressively maintained as a world cultural site. It isn't as big as the Forbidden City in Beijing, but it gives just as good a view of history. For a unique experience, you can very affordably (about ¥100) don clothing reflective of its history to wear as you tour
Joe M — Google review
This is the imperial palace built when the early Qing Dynasty entered customs. It's relatively simple. Located in the city center. It is recommended not to visit on holidays. Because there are many people in line. There are more people in the summer. Pay attention to sun protection. It won't be crowded in winter.

Interesting look into the Republic era of China 1910-25. Architecture is amazing in it's use of courtyards for functions of government. The furniture likewise is a view of early 20th Century style and present in abundance. The family mansion encompasses three floors and also maintains a full suite of unique furniture. The day we went it was very busy and at the height of summer could be quite warm. Hydrate. It's well worth the trip and just a block away from the earlier dynasty's palaces.

A must-see historical site in Shenyang. All the signs were in Chinese, so I didn't understand much of the history, but the historical preservation here is amazing! The combination of Chinese and Western architecture and design works so well. A unique place, ticket includes entry to the museum of money and finance next door.

Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park is a large military amusement park in the Binhai New Area, featuring the retired aircraft carrier Kiev from the Russian navy. The park integrates marine military and Russian culture, offering water action shows, car shows, dance performances, and parades. Visitors can tour the aircraft carrier and explore a Russia-inspired town with various dining options.
The Chinese bought this Soviet aircraft carrier and used it for research and development before turning it into a hotel & tourist spot. You can find a fake Russian village nearby as a tourist trap

I visited here 5 years ago. An old Soviet Air Craft Carrier is built as a museum, where you have chance to see how a giant ship look like. The Chinese government bought it for the purpose of building a museum, but they did not. They use it to duplicate a real warship, a real Aircraft carrier, Liaoning.
Memtimin A — Google review
Definitely worth visiting while in Tian Jin. I have never been on an aircraft carrier before, and the experience is priceless. Since it's a soviet carrier, you also find many russian themed tourist shops.
Ricky P — Google review
It's like Russia but in China! Good and entertaining water action show and the action car show with excellent performers. There are dance shows and a parade as well. The price of admission is about 220rmb(about 34 USD) per person. Some say it's a bit pricey but you get the water show, car show, dance show, a parade, the aircraft carrier tour and get to hang out in a nice Russia inspired town with lots of food to choose from. I think it's worth the trip if you happen to be in the TEDA/Tianjin area.

I have never been on an Aircraft carrier before and this was amazing. Unfortunately they do not cater for non Chinese reading for their signage but this did not deminish the excitement of exploring such a huge vessel.
Allen C — Google review
My father served on this ship from 1984 to 1987, and seeing it again filled him with memories and pride. So much has changed over the years — parts are now closed or completely remodeled — yet walking its decks brought back the spirit of those times. It was truly a moving and unforgettable visit.

Overpriced attraction. Suits military funs.

Really interesting place! Prices are little bit higher but worth to see and to experience the feeling.

The 天津之眼 or Tianjin Eye is a 120-meter tall Ferris wheel located above the Hai River that glows with vibrant colors at night. A ticket for one trip costs around 70 Yuan, and the wheel rotates continuously at a slow speed, taking approximately 30 to 45 minutes for one round.
It's a huge Ferris wheel that looks amazing at night. However, I'd suggest avoiding it during holidays, otherwise you'll probably be facing thousands of people lol
Mimicbug — Google review
We did not try to ride the Ferris Wheel, but its view from the riverside is nice. There are also a lot other things you can do around the area: there are food stalls along the riverside; there is an artblock nearby; and an oldtown.
Ninya Q — Google review
It is a nice point in the city. The whole city has a daily light show till 2230, just enjoy the lights.
Faraaz A — Google review
Awsome experience The view at night is absolutely stunning, but for european tourists i highlight the information that the city light shows go off at around 21:00! The view is also amazing after this time. The queue for us was pretty long (1 hour) but it worth the waiting! You have to book tickets in advance! Recommend it for everyone!
Levente L — Google review
The Tianjin Eye is an engineering marvel. It is a 120-meter-tall Ferris wheel constructed atop the Yongle Bridge over the Haihe River, making it the only one of its kind in the world! A full rotation takes about 30 minutes in one of the 48 air-conditioned,, 8 seater capsules. The ride is truly magical after sunset. The wheel itself is illuminated with a dazzling light display, and TianJin below transforms into a sparkling tapestry of gold and neon. It's my favorite spot for photography.
David L — Google review
Very beautiful especially at night. It is supposed to be the biggest Ferris wheel over the bridge in the whole world. It costs $10 USD to take it. It moves slowly and you can see nearby landscapes once above. The waiting line is very short off season. The ride takes 45 minutes. It looks a lot nicer at night than during the day.
Really U — Google review
Huge Ferris wheel that is temperature controlled Not busy during the day
James B — Google review
I visited this giant wheel during my weekend trip to Tianjin. You have to buy a ticket costing 70 Yuan for one trip. The wheel keeps on rotating with slow speed all the time and you need to get in quickly. It takes around 30 to 45 mins for one round. The city view from the top of the wheel is spectacular. Overall design and location of this world's 4th largest wheel is a true masterpiece. The wheel design is like an inverted bicycle wheel. In the evening you can see a pink colored image of the giant wheel in the river from bridge when whole of the Tianjin is illuminated with luminaries.

Home inn Plus Railway Station Italian Style Street offers a comfortable and clean stay with 5-star service. The rooms are equipped with essential items and the Italian-style street provides a picturesque setting, especially at night. While check-in procedures may be lengthy for foreigners, the location is convenient, just a 15-minute walk from the train station with plenty of dining options nearby. It's recommended to take a cruise to fully appreciate the beauty of this European-inspired destination.
5 stars service, each room provided all the essentials items like tea bags, water, the mini soap has rose petal, and the 2 in 1 (shower+shampoo) washing gel smelled nice. Con: Check in procedure was long for foreigner, they were not familiar with the passport thing. Pro: Clean and comfortable room. Great location, 15mins walk from the train station, many restaurants available downstairs. We have flight at night, but need to check out before noon, but we’re welcome to stay in the lobby, and beverage is available downstairs, they also provide desktop computers. (WiFi is available, but login processes is kinda odds)

The tourist attraction known as Fifth Avenue is located in a city region boasting European-style architecture and luxurious homes. This district has a significant historical background with numerous old buildings converted into restaurants and living quarters, providing visitors with a nostalgic experience right at the core of an urban hub. The area offers peaceful strolls while enjoying various architectural designs, showcasing excellent examples of pre-war European homes.
This is a popular tourist attraction area in Tianjin, especially for the Chinese because many famous writers and politician , eunuch (xiao de chang) houses houses were here. There is also a popular horse driven carriage ride where the guide will point out the famous points. There is even a road here that used to be called Singapore street as pointed out by the guide! There were also a few good western restaurants here, we love the pizzas at Pizza Bianca! The main circular courtyard here is lovely and reminiscence of roman architectures and columns. Lots of locals spending their time here in weekends playing.

Where British settlers to Tianjin lived in the 1800s and left behind much original Euro-styled architecture mixed with unique Chinese elements such as houses built with stunning porcelain mixtures and Colosseum-like football stadiums. Modern day Wudadao (Five Great Avenues) is filled with creative concept cafes, restaurants, bars. A foodie's paradise and where much of China's Western scenes are filmed as a result of rows upon rows of original European architecture. This is only one of the global ethnic settlements located in Tianjin.

The Tianjin Museum is a sleek building housing a large and diverse collection of Chinese artifacts and art, many of which are related to the city of Tianjin. It offers an in-depth look into the history of Tianjin, including its transformation into a cosmopolitan city and its past involvement in events such as the Opium Wars. The museum's unique architectural structure resembles that of a swan spreading its wings, adding to its allure.
Tianjin Museum is by far the largest museum of such kind in China. It is more than hundred years old as it started its journey in 1908. The museum is five storied, plus one basement. It has a cafetaria, as well as a nice souvenir shop. The middle area, where there is a staircase, is huge and gives a bold public character to the building. There is a huge courtyard in front of the museum. It now houses relucs, artworks, artifacts to show the rich culture, heritage and history of Tianjin region.

Some stunning ancient pottery and very interesting history of European trading in the late 1800s. You might want a translation app as many of the descriptions are in Chinese only, though some are in English too.

Not a lot of stuff, but definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, especially since it's free. Go on a weekend, they'll have more services available then. Beautiful architecture. Don't forget to go to the art museum next to it! Some great works on display, especially oil paintings by Wang on the second floor.

Zhoucun Street is a place worth visiting in Zibo. The entire scenic spot is free. There are several places where you need to buy tickets if you want to visit. You can buy them in advance at the entrance of the street. We also paid to find a young lady guide who stayed with us for 2 hours and explained the story of each old house very carefully. The rich families here were definitely rich in the past. Zibo was the center of commercial and financial economy in the old days, and this is Ruifuxiang. ’s first store 👍 I bought the local signature Zhoucun Shaobing as a souvenir and brought it back to a friend. It was so exaggerated that the express delivery was full. I didn’t want to wait for myself to carry it home 😂 There was no shade and it was so hot that I was advised to take sun protection measures before coming.
