The museum from its exterior looks great. They have captured the Byzantine style of architecture. You see that a lot of work has gone into making this museum. There were a lot of amazing artifact, mosaics, frescos etc….to see. Although I thinkk this museum was lacking on staff. We were even told that because they are understaffed only 4 out of the 12 exhibits were open to the public. The guides in those open rooms were more like guards and were always on their phone. Everything is supposedly digitalized. What’s the point of guides then? Just employ guards. Anyway at least what was open was amazing to see what remains from the Eastern Roman period, but more then half the museum was closed of so it didn’t justify the 8 euros price tag. Visit if it’s fully open.

Small but beautiful museum with a fabulous collection of Byzantine art. The staff are very friendly, and the exhibits are well presented. Be careful around some of the displays though, there are small steps in front and when my daughter accidentally touched it, the alarm went off! The cafeteria and gift shop are currently under renovation, which was a bit disappointing, but overall it was still an awesome experience.

The museum is stunning, both from the outside and the inside. Definitely worth a visit. They have a large collection of Byzantine artifacts. Although I'm not usually a big fan of history, I found this museum genuinely interesting and you can feel how important it is for the Greek people. The ticket costs 8€, while the kids under 18 enter for free. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, it wasn't overcrowded when we visited, so you can take your time and explore at your own pace. About an hour and a half is enough for the full visit.

An excellent collection excellently presented within an excellent facility. Middle Ages were not dark in the Eastern Roman Empire, which we call today Byzantium. Paintings, mosaics, decorated pottery, jewelry, and so much more display the light of a civilization whose refugees sparked the Renaissance. Truly, a wonderful experience for those who appreciate history and art. In a country so rich in archeological findings of ages ranging into the greatest depths of antiquity, such exhibits are often unduly overlooked.

Absolutely worth a visit. I think the ticket was €8, which you certainly can't complain about. It was very quiet when we visited, which probably lent the whole place some serenity. If you are in Thessaloniki and you have an hour or so to spare, I think it would be well spent here.

The space is good developed: the halls, the lights, the pieces of mosaic, tombstones, vases, examples of the unique history of Byzantine. If you have a time, it's better to take a guide tour, and not to be lost in the treasure of this museum.

Review for couple’s massage Overall it was good experience and the massage was excellent, but there are a few things I would like to point out. They put us on a round bathtub with warm water and rose petals (not a jacuzzi) and it was nice for a while but after 20-25’ it was getting uncomfortable for our necks and legs since it is not very big. How long can you stay soaking in water? They told us to get dried and we used the wrong towels by mistake and one of the ladies was a little upset about it. Then each of us got on the massage table completely naked, with the towel on top. (Everybody is different but for me that was a first time and a little uncomfortable) And at the end, they brought us wine with a chocolate (very nice) but we were sitting on the same room on a puff on the floor (again not very comfortable), still naked with our towels. Maybe having the wine in the lounge chairs outside the room would be a much better experience. Still it is a place I would recommend.

We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and ready to take on the world. Polis Hamam is a must-visit!

Beautiful and family-friendly cave experience! Petralona Cave was absolutely beautiful and well worth a visit. The temperature inside is a comfortable +17°C all year round, so there’s no need to dress warmly. The entrance fee was €10 for adults, and seniors (65+) paid €5 — we visited in the off-season. Children under 18 enter for free, which was great for us since we had a baby and a 3-year-old with us. The cave itself is relatively small and compact — perfect for kids. The loop path takes around 20 minutes to complete, with many stunning formations to admire. Some parts of the path are a bit narrow, but still manageable. In front of the cave, there’s a kiosk and a picnic/waiting area with an incredible view of the surrounding area and the sea — perfect for watching the sunset! We enjoyed some ice cream and coffee from the kiosk while waiting for our tour to start. You can either take a short walk (about 800m) up to the cave or use the little transfer train from the parking area. The round trip on the train costs €3 per person, and children under 3 go free. We didn’t visit the museum (it requires a separate ticket), but overall, the service was friendly, and the experience was great — highly recommend it, especially for families!

A great change in scenery. It is a great place to take a break on a hot day - other than on a beach or inside. Things go fast even on a busy day and rather affordable (€10 for the cave, €5 for the museum and €3 for the train). Tour is 20 - 30 minutes without guide (for our group). I would recommend the museum first and cave after. Outside view is nice, too. The terrace near the entrance is a nice place to enjoy a drink.

The weather was bad so we decided to visit the caves after looking on google. The car park is a basic dirt road and we did struggle to get parked. Some cute little souvenir shops reasonably priced…again basic but fine. We got the train to the caves which took a couple of minutes and cost a few euros each. Once you are at the top to the entrance of the cave it is quite exposed with a couple of shelters, a coffee shack and reasonably clean toilets. Once we had paid there was a little wait before the last group came out of the cave, around 10 minutes or so. Once we were in the cave we were memorised!! What an amazing place! Really cleverly lit with secure steps throughout. We loved every second of it with such amazing photo opportunities. It was like being in another world. We were encouraged to stay with the group but we wanted to stay longer hehe! We walked back to the car chatting about our amazing experience!

Great fan of stalagtites/stalagmites caves, so we had to visit this one and it is definitely worth the trip. Currently, the entrance fee is 10 Euro (Oct 2025). Since we have been there close to the end of the season our group was comfortably small (I can imagine that in the summertime the visit will be very crowdy and not so quiet and comfortable). There is a parking lot (with some deserted tourist shops close by) and the possibility to be carried the 300 or so meters to the cave by a small train. Otherwise it's a 10 min walk slightly up the hill. After buying the tickets we had to wait a bit, approx. 10-15 min until enough people had gathered for the tour. The cave itself and all the formations were so amazing, I enjoyed it very much. The guide explained everything in greek and english. Whole tour is about 1 km and approx. 30 min. We did not visit the small museum with the bone collections, because we were more interested in the formations, but this would have been possible with a 5-euro fee and approx. 20 min.

This is an incredible cave and there is a great museum on site too. Both have recently reopened after significant renovation. There is s short walk uphill from the car park. Alternatively you can take the land train. There is a coffee shop and toilets outside the cave and also near the car park

By far one of the best in the world, this cave amazes at every step. It’s a hidden gem of Greece and a must-see! A long labyrinth of corridors with awe-inspiring forms will leave you in wonder of the mystery of nature. Park by the shops and walk up the hill or take the noddy train. Reasonably priced tickets, discounts for children and pensioners, and a tour guide included. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

It took us 2 days 1 night. We started off from gortsia. It was a crazy experience hiking Mount Olympus. The last bit of hiking is the hardest bit. We didn’t have helmets or ropes lol but you’re probably safer to get them, unless you’re fit and not scared of hights. Views up here was crazy and if you are a hiker you should definitely climb Mount Olympus!!

Yes, I'm reviewing a mountain. Not my first mountain either, although I haven't reviewed Kilimanjaro yet. Ok, it's a an actual mountain, summit above the tree line, though only 2918 meters (9.578 ft), no snow up there but plenty of wind and temps are way lower than at the bottom. It's about 25,000 steps to the top, almost all of them ascending, of course, over often technical rock and rooty trails. I suppose it could be done in a day, up and down, doubling the steps. but not by me. I'm 76 and two days were definitely necessary. There's a hut not far from the summit, very basic, with: • surprisingly good fresh food throughout the day and evening, staring with coffee at 6:30 am (and not a moment before) • yes they take cards, tho I was told sometimes the payment terrminals or internet connection don't work, so bring at least 25 Euro as backup • unheated rooms containing 8-12 cots, where you could end up trying to sleep next to someone snoring like a 500 lb boor, as I did. Not pleasant. Bring ear plugs.

We had the absolute best day with George and Thanasis on the Sani Swan! They were incredibly insightful, sharing about the region and related mythologies and took us to beautiful locations where the water was so clear and blue that we were awestruck! Both of them made the day extra special for our son by paying particular attention to his experience and provided him with a paddle board, snorkeling gear, diving / jumping spots, being captain for a day, etc. They were so friendly and professional and offered treats and refreshments throughout the day. They asked us how this experience compares with other private cruises we’ve taken, and we absolutely think their professionalism and kindness was next level! By the way, the boat was beautiful too!

The Archaeological Museum of Volos pleasantly surprised us. It offers a fascinating collection of tools, jewelry, and everyday objects, dating back as far as 5000 BC. It was truly exciting to see in real life what I used to read about in school textbooks. All the information is provided in both Greek and English, which makes the experience accessible and engaging. We arrived on a Saturday around 11 a.m. and were the only visitors for a while, which gave us the chance to explore everything at our own pace. After about 40 minutes, a school group arrived, which brought a different energy — it was nice to see kids learning about their history. Highly recommended for a calm, meaningful visit!

Nice little museum a bit out of the city centre of Volos. They have three different exhibitions: one detailing the palaeolithic and neolithic findings from Thessaly, one detailing burial customs and steles from ancient Demetrias, and one detailing the history of Volos. They have most signs in English, at least the ones describing the artifacts, but the informational signs in the Volos exhibition are only in Greek. Overall, the museum can be visited in less than an hour, especially in the morning when there are fewer visitors.

Building has been maintained inside and outside (garden needs some tlc), aircondition was working so was nice and cool inside. Paid EUR 10 entrance. I have very mixed feelings about this museum. On the one hand the exhibits are very good with interesting history and artifacts. There is a good amount of information available. It's a small museum but well put together. On the other hand, a lot of the information is only available in Greek. You can download a doc but it only gives an overview of the different exhibitions and a floor plan of the museum, nothing about individual objects. Having said that, I'm not sure that it's fair that non-Greek speakers must pay the same price or even more, and also at 10 Euro (29 Aug 2025), I feel they can really put in a little effort to also have everything in English too. There's supposedly some audio available that you can listen to for some things. But I asked the lady at reception and she said it's not working. Her English was very bad, so she might also have meant it's not available in English. So definitely make sure you take your phone with you and have an internet connection available so you can use Google Translate or a similar app to translate the various exhibit plaques.

High end Hotel beaming with tradition and history yet modern service. Their wellness spa is up there in line with the best that can be found worldwide. It was a short break but we have promised ourselves to come back for a long stay soon.

I had high expectations for this spa, given the premium prices, but unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable—dirty bathtubs, unkempt facilities, and an overall unhygienic environment that made it impossible to relax. The hotel is situated in a perfect location yet the maintenance is not as expected which left us with an unpleasant experience. The Spa pool and area are not clean enough, the towels ( if any, as not always available) are old and worn out same goes for the bathrob. This hotel has great potential to become a jewel but not in this cleanliness level.

I walked in with my dog in my arms a mini poodle for to get a spa program and the woman in the reception acted as I walked in with a monster 🤬 I will never spend a penny in this place and will never come back for spa treatment even if the paid me a place that don’t like animals the don’t like people as well just the money your going to spend there 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Everything is ok but the seeming pool is not warm enough

You can park your car at the top of the road and go down on foot on a very nice short path to the waterfall. The place is amazing, much more beautiful in real life. Very recommend with young kids, as it is a really short walk

I visited this place with my family and found the access quite easy. However, caution is needed as the pedestrian path has slippery rocks. When I visited in August, the waterfall had little water, but I believe it must be much more impressive during autumn. The whole area is still in the process of recovering from the devastating fire of August 2021. Four years later, the mountainsides are slowly turning green again. Yet, the charred tree trunks remain, standing like solemn monuments to the forest’s once-glorious past.

A beautiful waterfall hidden in beautiful nature. It was awesome that it had water in August despite the hot weather. We drove there for about 35 minutes from Edipsos. The road is good and asphalted, though the last 10 kilometers it was a bit narrow. There were some sharp turns, but nothing drastic and we saw people arriving with small motorcycles. You park the car and then there's a short walk down a nice path for no more than 5 minutes to get to the waterfall. My tip is to get non-slippery shows because the stones on the path were a bit slippery. We went from there to Rovies and that part of the road was worse with many sharp turns and some damaged parts, so I would suggest to use the other way if you can. Definitely worth a visit!!

This little place is magical! The waterfall had water during September, which is a good sign. You can take a dive in the small pond and enjoy the green nature around you. Unfortunately, that green nature is only around you, as the places surrounding the area have suffered from wildfires. The waterfall area has been kept mostly intact though. To reach it, you will have to descend some easy stairs. I do recomment using good shoes and not slippers, but you won't have an issue if you are careful. It won' take you more than 5-10 minutes.

Very nice waterfall, 40 minutes drive from Agia Anna beach. Easy access, kid-friendly walking path. There is a children's playground near the waterfall. Just be careful of snakes. Down the waterfall there are snakes.

A small but very nice place to go. It has parking spaces for the cars and easy access to the waterfalls with a new build path. If you want you could even swim there or take a rest at the playground. Unfortunately the trees around are all burnt down which is a small lack for the beautiful place.

Saint John the Russian is a phenomenon. The church is beautiful and the Saint lays resting so you can pray over him. It’s amazing. Many miracles have occurred inside and outside the church. Many faithful have seen Him in their dreams. Definitely visit the church and there’s also great food right across the street.

Easter Sunday and no waiting line. Normally it is very busy. I believe we where lucky. Beautiful place. A must visit.

Very nice big Orthodox Church. St John's the Russian body is kept in there and you can venerate him. Worth visiting on your way to North Evia.

What a beautiful church! A miraculous saint! This is a nice small village with cute coffee shops bakeries and tavernas. Lots of choices for food if you are hungry. There's also a pharmacy in this town and a small grocery store. You won't go hungry! A must visit. There is also holy water here! I can't wait to visit again!

On Clean Monday, a Greek National Holiday, with friends and 2 cars, we visited that location and enjoy the forest and the traditional architecture!

It is humbling to see how advanced the ancient Greek were, compared with the rest of Europe. A really impressive site to visit. The walk to the stadium is quite a climb. (Not hard, just exhausting in warm weather) If you really want to see it, go for it. It is beautiful. I would surely recommend getting a top view from the theatre, to really see how big the site is. Also, dont forget to visit the museum. Perhaps visit the museum first. And remember the statues you see there. A lot of pieces of the puzzle will fall in to place at the site. As you can hardly imagine how things would have looked

The site itself is relatively compact and, to further that feeling, when we visited the Athena part of the monument was temporarily closed. The space is well kept, and even or a rainy day the site was still very accessible with no security concerns due to slippery terrains. The temple of Apollo was amazing and everything from top to bottom was stunning, especially in context with the rest of the remnants like the treasury and the market. Didn’t have time to visit the museum, however, I still found it very much enjoyable and interesting.

An unforgettable experience. After visiting the museum we climbed the hill up to Apollo's temple. The place has a certain atmosphere, which cuts through even when the huge tour groups rumble through each area. If you have any interest in the Oracle you must come to see this magical place. Ask Apollo for advice at his temple, which is the centre of the universe, and wait for a sign. The views are stunning and the only negative is I wished it hadn't been so busy. Perhaps try to visit at a quieter time of year. Highly recommended.

A great place to visit some ruins. Beautiful. Striking. Imposing. Impressive. They’re in the process to add a cafe by the entrance. A few cats that are hungry, they come to visits expectedly for food.

The famous Temple of Apollo at the Delphi archaeological site, located between the beautiful town of Arachova and the modern village of Delphi, is absolutely worth visiting and highly recommended. The place where the temple stands feels magical—you can truly connect with the surrounding nature. There’s something special about the mountains, the golden-yellow flowers scattered everywhere, and the lush green trees. A helpful tip: be prepared for plenty of walking. It’s like an easy hike up to the upper part of the site, where you’ll find a stunning ancient stadium and breathtaking views.

Very nice area on the top side of a mountain with a nice view. A lot of history here and informational plaques. There’s also plenty of staff around the help keep things moving and answer any questions. Would recommend taking a trip out here if your looking for places near Athens to explore

Really incredible visit. The views are top notch and the entire site is exquisite to visit and learn about. We were nervous about the time to drive up from Athens, but we hired a driver for the day and it was worth every bit of the cost. Not only a driver, but guiding us along the drive and pointing us in the right direction once at the site. Worth doing, don’t drive yourself and I’d avoid the massive tour buses. Very much worth a visit all around. Do the site first and museum second. Bring water and be prepared for hills.

Wonderful museum and archeological site closed to the modern village of Delphi. The museum has wonderful artifacts but is not overpoweringly large. There is a good flow through the development of Delphi as a sacred site and it's demise before being restored by the Romans. The archilogical site is deceptively large, winding a long way up the mountainside. Allow at least 90 minutes to see the whole site. Cafe at museum ticket office serves good coffee and sandwiches. The shop is a bit twee but has some interesting items. Main downside of the site is the toilets. There is nowhere near enough for the volume of visitors and the inevitable queues and lack of cleanliness are quite offputiing. Much better to take the short walk into a taverna in the village, and probably as quick

Delphi was absolutely breathtaking — one of the highlights of my trip to Greece. The combination of stunning mountain views, ancient ruins, and peaceful atmosphere makes it a truly special place. Walking through the archaeological site, you can really feel the history and imagine what it must have been like thousands of years ago. The Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater, and the stadium are incredible to see up close, and the museum adds great context with beautifully preserved artifacts. Everything is well organized and easy to explore, and the scenery surrounding the site is simply majestic — it feels almost spiritual.

We visited ancient site first due to rain, but recommend museum first. Great exhibits. Do not miss an allow at least 2 hours. Came later in the day and seemed ho be thinning out. Lots if tourist busses. Also was able to park on street close to museum for free. Lots of great artifacts and pieces of history.

Lots to see, varying degrees of difficulty great for individuals with wide range of physical capabilities, and must have a good knowledgeable guide to bring the site to life. Little known fact, a landslide in the last few years has made the area around and access to the Athena temple a restricted no entry area. However, there are plenty of amazing views and spaces to rest in the shade that allows you to soak it all up.

Delphi and the museum are just wonderful. There really is something special about the site and the museum is concise and has great information about the history of the area and more. Definitely worth the visit! My only drawback was the very expensive cafe at the museum - I bought a half a tiny pizza that was tasty but somewhat dry and far, far too costly.

It was a long drive from Athens but it was worth it. If you have time, it's definitely worth seeing there. The same ticket works both for the Museum a d the Archeological Site. Beautiful history and well preserved statues. Highly recommended 👌🏼

A monastery off the beaten path which we really liked! We took a detour to the monastery on our way back from Arachova to Athens. It is big and beautiful and has a beautiful painted crypt and inside of the church. Well looked after and lost of interesting history. The stables and one or two other buildings did burn down 2-3 years ago and they are restoring it. It does not distract from the great experience and I can highly recommend the place. Lots of parking and we could pay by card.

A must see. Worth a detour, worth a visit. Meteora is also a must see at a stunning location. This is a stunning monastery at a beautiful place.

Stunning view of the mountains, the building itself is beautifully taken care of, it is active so people do go to participate in service but there is plenty of small areas to explore with bits of history information and a small museum room where u need to buy entry tickets. There is a large parking lot higher up from monastery but with the hills and stairs it could be difficult for someone with mobility issues. There are clean toilets for use before you get the entry gate as well

I drive in from Domvrina. The drive was amazing, Ag Anna was beautiful, all the villages on the way were beautiful and the Monestery is in a unbelievable place. Stunning views. The people there are so nice. I recommend anyone visiting Greece visit here.

Gorgeous monastery that everyone should visit. I can't believe how obscure this place is when it's monumental and religious value matches that of Parthenon in its respective hostorical era. The view is wonderful and everyone is so friendly and willing to share facts about Saint Loukas and the monastery itself.

Lovely place for a short trip from Athens. Best fish taverns and best place for walk close to seaside. Calm city. This aerial photo can show you the beauty of this place. This bridge also used long years before for extreme sports.

Ancient technology but still strong when walking on it and cars passing by, you can feel the noice. And a ship crossing we well all stoped both cars and humans. And you can hear the noice as they left the bridgle, amaizing. And I love the surroundings restaurants bars et cetera.

I'm glad to have seen this old bridge. I walked over this and admired the Island of Evia from the Mainland side. Looking into the sea, the currents are so strong.

Beautiful place with two lovely beaches separated by a rock with a hole. 1. The left beach is organized – calm, shallow water, perfect for families. We stayed at the beach bar where sunbeds & umbrellas were included with a €10 minimum consumption (drinks or food – e.g. freddo cappuccino €3, fresh juice €4). Great atmosphere, friendly service & tasty options. Note: the bar next door charged €5 just for the sunbeds, and food & drinks were paid separately. We didn’t check the prices at other bars on the beach, so they might differ. 2. The right beach is wild & peaceful – no facilities, just sand, sea & crystal-clear water. Lots of beautiful spots for photos & total relaxation. We truly enjoyed both sides! P.S. The photos I uploaded are from the second (wild) beach.

This has turned out to be the best beach I've visited on the island so far. It's located in a little village, and the drive here was better than most. Water was clear and pretty warm for the end of August. Plenty of sand on the beach, and a couple of places where you can grab a bite to eat if you wish. Definitely recommended.

Middle length of the beach no more than 200 meters. Most of the length is occupied from organized sunbeds that you do not need to rend it, you just need to order something from the taverna/Cafe bars that own the sunbeds. Outside, there are sand and small pebbles. Inside, at the first steps, there are small pebbled and after sand. After 3-4 meters is deep. I preferred Kalamos beach since it is clean and it is covered from North winds Last but not least, it has a very nice spot to do dives from a high rock.

Sandy and clean beach, warm water and spectacular views! One of the most beautiful beaches on Evia with some local taverns in close proximity and showers available. It’s worth visiting, especially off season - we were lucky to be almost the only tourists on this heaven on Earth in October :)

So the water was not so clean as it is in most images howewer it wasnt bad . The title "best beach of evia" is not right because even though the accesability isn't the worst , the beach is not sandy at all and not very relaxing.

Good prices - with 38€ for 2 people - in this price we had sunbeds with umbrella, we drank all day and ate lunch. Food was not delicious but it depends on the provider. Beach is very clean, water is clear and with no algae. Relaxing atmosphere.

The displays are in Greek and French, so if you speak that language I would give it four stars. While not everything needs to be in English and appreciate that it annoys some people, it is however the lingua franca. The museum is small, with detailed displays and exhibits covering the ancient city. Toilets are available and parking is out front. Handy, for walking over the main road to the ruins

We visited the museum during the full moon in August 2025 and watched an interesting documentary about the recent discovery of the Temple of Artemis, a joint Swiss–Greek enterprise.

Small museum with a few surprising unusual pieces, typical of small town museums in greece. The bronze age collection is particularly interesting. Great potential if the ministry took some interest in modernizing the space.

The staff is not interested in visitors. They just sell tickets. Few words of introduction would be very useful. Ladies do not help at all despite very few guests. The museum concept is fine. What annoys most, the inscriptions about the exhibits - all of them are only in Greek and French (!). Why?

It's a small museum but an interesting collection very well preserved. Small toys, glass specimens, and local pieces of dish or amphora. The explanations are interesting, well balanced between length and quality.

Worth visiting and following the path, whichbthey give on the map. Very unfortunate, that there is no info in English.

Very nice and well-maintained museum. Friendly welcome and guided staff who pointed out to us to visit the lower part as well. Without his friendly help we would have certainly missed this. Thanks & too bad this city does not seem so touristy. It is possibly all the fault of Alexander the Great and the final downfall of Thebes: the city was totally destroyed by him in 335 BC.

A rich collection of archaeological findings spanning the history of Beoetia from the paleolithic to the early Ottoman period. All signs and exhibit labels are in Greek and English. We took it slow and read almost everything and consequently spent around 3.5 hours here, but the average person will probably spend ~2 hours here.

Staff on the gate desk spoke English and appreciated the attempted use of Greek language whilst purchasing tickets (€10 for a standard entrance ticket). Outdoor exhibits are seen first and cover some very early periods of Ancient Greek sculpture, masonry and statue. All exhibits have dual Greek and English text and are detailed, both in the overall topic/ section and for numbered items in display cases - the interior exhibits are separated by era (Iron Age, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine etc) making navigation simplistic. The structure uses primarily flat ground but a wheelchair lift is available for disabled visitors in the one room that is lower than the rest of the buildings layout (this accessibility did not extend to the castle tower on the museum grounds which required visitors to navigate 2 small sets of above average steep metal steps to gain full access). I cannot comment on the onsite Café as it was early in what appeared to be renovations at the visit time. The museum Gift shop, which you walk past/ through when entering the indoor exhibits, stocked some small replicas of assorted busts and jewellery etc. Photography is allowed for non-commercial use (without flash). Overall, a worthy visit for any history nerd, especially in regards to the insights on the mundane through burial items, craftsmanship, changing artistic styles through the eras and shifting political and military policy as Greek land passed between so many hands and invading cultures over its history (there are no interactive exhibits or big fancy weapons racks for children to marvel at however, so be wary of those who have little patience for reading).

One of the best museums I have been to. They are many interesting artifacts from Thebes and the region and they are very well presented and explained in a beautiful building. I really liked her Linear B displays. They really need a better shop and cafe.

I had wished to visit this place for many years and, finally, I did. We are all familiar with the Marathon contests all around the world, but, this is the The Place, the origin, from where the Greek soldier Pheidippides, ran to Athens to report victory in the Battle of Marathon; he died of exhaustion after delivering the good news. Today's runners, fortunately, survive, although any Marathon race is extremely demanding. Visit the place with me, you are in no danger, enjoy good food and coffee at the shore of the Marathon Lake (it's an artificial one), wander the picturesque landscape, watch birds and just relax. Have a nice trip!

This lake is so quiet, BUT, the forest is burned severely, it's okay 👍 so this lake has a bridge 🌉🌉

A beautiful place in Attica that many times its forests being burned for land speculation and as a final act of Love for the environment they now plant and deposit 5 kilometers away the garbage of Attica in the this area!!!!5 is for the memory of forests 1 is for all the destruction of the last green zone of Attica all concerned involved..Of course money for these people I more important for the conditions of people living in this area and of course whole Athens....money that's the only word they learned to worship.. Hypocrisy at its best...not only....

Went there to run the great Authentic Greek Classic Marathon. Great views, great scenery and above all, the feelings, running a route over 2 000 year old!

Do NOT use this route. This map leads u to middle of nowhere, on dirt road, you will see valleys with trees burnt, and then dirt road track ended, field of wild flowers and grass filled the area, we had to make a u-turn to get out. DO NOT use this route if you want to visit Lake Marathon. Instead, if you must visit, pick the Lake Marathon panoramic view on Google map. It’s over-rated.

from a tourist perspective, there is nothing here... walking routes from the dam are blocked off and the one restaurant that used to be here is abandoned.

A great place to visit really close to Athens

Interesting place for panorama, the church, the cave. Not so much parking, but if you go in the right timing, you find. The church is amazing with a lot of frescoes. The cave is keeping the body of the saint. View on Loutraki, you can see the Korynthos channel, you can see the two seas….the road to get there is very small, better to pass through the road in the direction of perachora

The journey up the mountain is scenic, and once you arrive, the tranquility is remarkable. I highly recommend visiting, whether for spiritual reasons or simply to enjoy the peace and stunning views.

Like all monasteries in Greece, they are positioned and have a perfect integration into the landscape! Where else can you compare the joy of the monks and nuns with whom they welcome guests and their hospitality!

The St. Patapios Monastery is set on a hill (mountain) just above, north from the sea side town of Loutraki. Have in mind this is not the Monastery you see on that same hill from Loutraki beach. The St. Patapios Monastery is further up, secluded in the mountain, hard to spot down from the town. A 15-20 min narrow winding road drive takes you to a parking lot from where're several flights of steps to the Monastery. You can visit a nicely decorated small Church, as well the cave with St. Patapios relics. Best of all are the outstanding views from there - towns of Loutraki and Corinth, the Ionian side entrance to Corinth canal and both, Ionian and Aegean Sea. It's a nice 2 hours excursion from Loutraki I strongly recommend, both cultural and scenic

We stopped here on our way to the airport, and it was a much more pleasant and relaxed shopping experience compared to Athens, which felt hot, crowded, and stressful in comparison. There’s a free luggage storage service available until 8:30 PM, which was really convenient. You’ll find a variety of restaurants, a large supermarket, and cafes with delicious pastries—all at reasonable prices. Most major clothing, footwear, and homeware brands are represented here. We arrived in the early afternoon. Although it was warm, there was a nice breeze. As the weather cooled down later, the place started to fill up with more visitors. One thing that truly stood out was how clean the restrooms were—honestly the cleanest I’ve seen anywhere in the world. The taxi from Athens cost €30 and took about 35 minutes. Just note that to leave the area, you’ll need to order a taxi (Uber works well).

We stopped here on our way to the airport for some last-minute shopping, and it was pretty cool. The mall has two big sections: an open area and a covered part. It’s spacious and family-friendly, plus there's a playground for the kids. Everything is well-designed and the restrooms are impressively clean. The Guest Services provides a free luggage storage service for tourist shoppers, but you need to show a plane ticket to use it. You can find all kinds of restaurants, a supermarket, and cafes with yummy pastries, and everything's reasonably priced. Most of the stores are branded, offering good deals on clothes, shoes, and household stuff. Just make sure to keep your receipts so you can get a tax refund for your purchases at the airport. The only downside is that there's no store for authentic Athens souvenirs, which is kind of a bummer.

Amazing! So many brands with great special offers. Totally worth spending the whole day here, visit both the premium section and the part with Zara, Sinsay, etc. There’s also a playground area for kids, making it perfect for families.

This mall is big! They have evrything and its very beautiful and pretty. If you are in the area its a must visit also walking distance to zoo and waterpark

Athens Designer Outlet is a shopper’s paradise! A great mix of international and Greek brands with impressive discounts all year round. The layout is spacious and easy to walk around, with plenty of cafés and restaurants for a break between shopping. It’s clean, well-organized, and has a relaxed atmosphere that makes the whole experience enjoyable rather than stressful. Convenient parking and friendly staff make it even better. Perfect for a day out if you love fashion and great deals!

Highly recommended perfect place to visit on your last day in Athens You can easily spend the whole day here without noticing the time it’s a beautiful and spacious outlet with so many great stores and a relaxing atmosphere. Most luxury brands are outlet stores, so you can find amazing deals and very reasonable prices. There are also a lot of popular brands like Zara and Pull&Bear… The place looks modern, elegant, and clean, and they even offer a free luggage storage service, so you can leave your suitcases and shop comfortably. We went straight from the outlet to the airport it was super easy We just took a bus to the train station, then a train directly to the airport everything was smooth and convenient

As with most outlets all over the world, the architectural layout and the brands displayed are similar. It has a very relaxed atmosphere. Because of the physical layout, visitors are not shielded from the rains if they want to move from shop to shop unless they use the underground carpark. When I was there on Monday, there wasn't many people. It opens at 10 in the morning.

I love this Zoo. We come with my son who is now 2 for over the year every weekend. We come less in summer, as it is hot. Its amazing zoological park with big variety of animals. Animals overall seems to get a great care. One thing tho, I really dont like how they "care" for rabbits! Im an owner of the rabbit fo over 12 years and the care they get at zoo is absolutely inadequate. They should do afoption program for them there. But real and seriouse one, maybe to partner with shelter, etc... And I do belive the seals need a much bigger pool. Also I wish the owner could participate with nice coffee shops and spread them around the territory. So people can have wariety of options. Also I do belive place can benefit from more programs like : buy a steak for Lion, or buy some food for animal of choice and you can see him fed by our stuff at certain hours. Thats will bring more money and more returned visitors and more visitors in general. We have annual path. Its amazing park otherwise to come to.

Very nice organized zoo close to Athens, very close to the airport. It has a large variety of exhibits. The dolphins pool is unique, I have never seen that kind of activity in a zoo. The Asian elephants are great. The butterflies area is also very nice. Has a lot of spots to seat, with plenty of shadow. The crew was very helpful, the place well maintained, and not crowded.

We really enjoyed our visit, so much we stayed 6 hours! If you have young kids, renting a trolley is worth it as there is obviously a lot of walking. Regardless of what you think of zoos, the zoo is clean, animals seem healthy and happy and it’s a great educational environment for children to learn to respect the planet and the animal kingdom. A fantastic day out!

It was a wonderful experience, especially the Lemurian therapy :)) ! There is great variety of animals and they are very well taken care of. The trail is beautiful with trees and greenery. We spent aroud 3h but you need around 4h-4:30h to see everything.

Amazing experience for my little boy 💙 I know he won't remember today's activities but he enjoyed it the most, so we decided it's good for his brain development to repeat this activity every year until he is old enough to create meaningful memories with his family 😁 until next time then!!!

I can't say enough good things about this zoo. It's clear from the moment you walk in that the staff genuinely cares about the animals and their well-being. Every animal looked incredibly well-maintained, healthy, and clean. The enclosures are spacious and meticulously looked after, providing a great environment for the animals. Beyond the animals, the entire zoo was spotlessly clean and well-arranged. The pathways were clear, the landscaping was beautiful, and it was easy to navigate from one exhibit to another. It made for a very pleasant and enjoyable day.

The Athens Zoo is a true oasis of joy for animal lovers. The fact that you don’t have to wait in long lines and can even enter certain areas to feed the animals makes the experience truly wonderful. It’s a beautiful, relaxing place filled with special moments.

Ferry to Hydra, a Greek Island. Business Class. Very comfortable. Cabin was cold. Bring a jacket

Fast and comfortable trip that was on time both ways. I removed 2 stars only because I went to the ticket desk in Aegistra and the friendly agent said it was no problem to board an earlier ferry. I repeated myself just to make sure she understood that my ticket time was different and she patiently responded that the QR code would work. The QR code did not work, however, when I boarded and so I was unsure if I would have to buy a new ticket. The agent on the boat said she would take care of it and disappeared never to return. Please just make sure your agents and your ticket scanners are on the same page

Fast ticket sales. Very accommodating. Was able to change my ticket times so we can go back to Athens earlier than planned.

Don’t stress the reviews, reliable, easy to book online, got us there quickly, everyone was kind, just don’t come late and you won’t be stressed. Really grateful and such a more pleasant commute than flying!

Not much to say. Been helped super fast. Got good price and advice. Was also able to leave bags in office for couple of hours while waiting for ferry.

Last boat of the day had a problem so they cancelled with no communication or care for how people get back from Aegina, they said email for refunds, and refused to issue them there. absolutely no duty of care for customers

Riding the ferry to Aegina from Athens was beautiful. The ferry ride was amazing and comfortable. The ride was 40 minutes and $40 round-trip. It was a slow day, it was easy to get tickets. It was a beautiful day on a beautiful ferry.

One of my favorite place where you can enjoy great view and wonderful boats. Good places for drink, dinner or lunch. Or just walk aroun snd enjoy the atmosphere.🫶🥰❤️😍 and parking available two hours only €6!!!

Flisvos Marina is a stunning location to visit with your whole family. There's something for everyone, it's an amazing place to stay for a couple of hours.

An excellent marina with a large number of berths for all types of vessels. The marina also has a number of bars and restaurants with excellent service and very good food where everyone can find something for themselves and there is also a gift shop if you want to buy a little something or a souvenir.

A hidden gem for sure - more of a beach club than we were expecting but it’s very relaxed with a great array of amenities (showers, bar, restaurant). It’s a beautiful setting and the doctor fish were a great add to the experience. Staff aren’t the most welcoming or attentive but the food was tasty. Would recommend!

Had a wonderful time at the lake today, we got there for about 11-11.30 (via metro and bus, took an hour) and queued for 10 minutes. Didn’t ask for student identification and we easily managed to get two sunbeds as there was still many available. It was lovely vibe. Foods quite pricey for small portions and not a lot of vegetarian options, just tomato basil pasta or margherita pizza as the two hot mains. We spent a few hours here, loved the fish. Water was SO salty! Not seen anyone else post about how salty it was, suprised me a lot! The lake was pretty cold despite it saying 25 degrees but fair enough. Changing facilities were good. Only two cubicles for female toilets though which surprised me. I enjoyed the experience as a whole!

This place is just suuuuper cool👍👍 Enjoyed it just a to the beginning of March, sunny weather. Sun is very warm, but not burning, temperature in the lake is very refreshing. Lake is surrounded by the high rocks, so there is no wind there, just a smooth breeze.All what you need on weekend!! and it is very close to Athens 👍

Absolutely great idea to visit this lake. Come early as the sunbeds get occupied pretty fast by lunch time. No sunscreen allowed into the water, which is perfect in my opinion. Food and drinka available as well as wheelchair access.

This is a spectacular lake and chill beach club. It is such great spot to spend the day but the bad service of the staff there really let it down. I visited in June 2024 and had a wonderful experience in a cabana with my family. I even wrote an 3-page feature article about the Athens Riviera mentioning it and Abraovato for Robb Report ANZ where I was the assistant editor at the time. This year my visit today was still beautiful but the service was underwhelming. There was a mix up with my booking on the door which resulted in the blonde female manager in charge being very rude to on the door acting aggressively from the start. Then after settling down to read in our pre-booked lounge chairs for 50 euro (not what we thought wee were getting really) we ordered mineral water and coffee and decided to make the most of where we were seated. But after our first swim we were then surrounded by two male lifeguards, a swarthy and loud old male pool cleaner, and another two older male service people who gossiped very loudly right behind us for over 25 -30 minutes which made me very uncomfortable and made it hard to concentrate on drawing and reading (let alone sleeping which would have been nice). I didn't come to the beach club to sit around with a bunch of strange men who were supposed to be working and weren't. Every time i turned around they were staring at me. The place was pretty empty so we asked to please be moved to a quieter spot and we did move to some chairs right around the back of the lake where we continued reading and sketching the lake. We ordered a salad and a cocktail and moved all our own stuff to some new sun beds that were just in the sun. Again empty beds around us for as far as the eye could see Then we were getting prepared to relax when the blonde female manager came back over and told us we had to pay another 60 euro to stay on the sunbeds. So instead of staying until 6.00pm and eating and drinking as we had intended and having a snooze there went to the One &Only for lunch in Glyfada where the service, pool and bar is impeccable. This beach club could have made our stay so pleasant and enjoyable and the unprofessional staff really let it down. Had they offered us an upgrade to start with and some good service we could have had a great time. I have told so many people about this place and now I will not continue to because there is a nasty attitude in the staff that is truly inexplicable.

Everything is great. But look on this toilets.??? 17 euros entrance ticket and you can not fix it. You can see a neighbor in another cabin from the hole in that plastic cover. The door is not closing and the button with a mechanism outside

Very beautiful place. But the staff ist handeling und the equipment during opening houers in the afternoon which is very noisy and disturbing. They even take your chairs away you pay for and put yor stuff somewhere else 2h before closing. If one charges about 40 EUR entrance fee clarly wrong.
