Termas de Tiberio - Balneario de Panticosa

Health spa
Spas & Wellness
Upscale quarters in a chic spa resort hotel offering mountain views, dining & 3 pool complexes.
Such a beautiful spot in the mountains. We had a spa afternoon with lunch. The highlight was definitely the outside heated pool where you could look out and enjoy the scenery
Alexandra R — Google review
Bedrooms are good and the buildings seem, for the most part, recently renovated. The staff is not at all friendly and makes no effort to speak a language other than Spanish. If you don't speak Spanish it will be very complicated! The SPA is unfortunately not very hygienic (showers broken, no jet to clean flip-flops,...) and too many people at once. The restaurants are too small compared to the size of the hotels ! They makes you wait in line for 15 to 45 minutes to eat... this is not normal. Only one of the restaurants is large, the "buffet" which is not really a buffet because it only offers a few dishes. Very low-end unfortunately (not worthy of a 4 star). Very unfortunate because the view of the mountains is superb, it is possible to go cross-country skiing, and we are close to a ski resort (+- 25 min). With investment, more open-mindedness and the use of abandoned buildings, there is really a lot of potential!
Julien V — Google review
Stunning location. Incredible food at the buffet option included at Hotel Continental. Clean and comfortable rooms, although slightly small.
Simon J — Google review
The location is stunning, beautiful place for walks and enjoying the nature. The hotel however, was a let down. We attended as part of a wedding, and while the whole wedding was amazing (beautiful church, lovely outdoors drinks and canapes, and delicious food throughout the day, a beautiful indoor venue in the casino), the part of were we stayed for our accommodation, was not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. This is the older looking part on the left of the connecting bridge. The lighting in the room was poor, the room was furnished with outdated furniture, the beds had wheels and the bed moved when a large person like my pregnant self moved. There was black mold in the shower, and poor toiletries (a small bottle of shampoo and shower gel for each person and only 1 hand soap). We were also given only 1 card/key for our room. The cups were paper cups, the fridge was empty. When I asked for an iron to iron our clothes I was told they only had one and it was taken out so I needed to wait for that person to bring it back. When I finally got the iron there was no ironing board. The free wifi is weak and intermittent, so in our room for example I had poor connection and to do our flight check in I went to reception, but internet wasn't better there. We had dinner provided by the wedding family, which was nice, but the breakfast was OK. A lot of variety of ham/ cheeses, breads, fruits, and cereal, but the eggs on both days of our stay were cold. I have not used the spa facilities as my friend who went before me, said that the water was between cool and cold, so I skipped that experience. The staff was trying to be helpful, but most had limited English so they found it difficult to assist us. No brochure or information pack in the room. Our room was very quiet, and had a nice view of the river. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but compared to a 4 star hotel in other areas (such as nearby Huesca), you get a lot less.
Melina F — Google review
Bad experience which I do not recommend The surrounding area is outstanding and worth a visit. The spa was far from relaxing and generally cold anywhere you go. Finish sauna usually runs in between 80 and 110 whereas it was barely 65 here. Same issue with hammam, jacuzzi and so on. The place was poorly maintained if not without maintenance at all. From not being able to lock the toilet door, to different heath and safety hazards found such as electric plug hanging, broken showers, broken doors, mould on silicone around sinks and swimming pool, not to mention the ceiling on the sauna or hammam which is clearly heath and safety risk. The general hygiene is bad and this left us with a sense of carelessness I have never seen before. After mentioning the issue for such a high price allowing only 1h15 mn in, the weak apology from the reception mentioning they were not aware left us wondering if anyone is at all taking care of this place. Such a shame. I would recommend many smaller spa I have been in which are clean and well maintained, hot and well equipped. A waste of time and money. Careful if on top of that you booked the hotel, you will be very disappointed.
Bastien V — Google review
Hotel communicate only in Catalonian, all messages come in Spain/Catalonian. Even no options choose English. There is no kingsize bed, two separated beds on rollers. They are moving all night long :))) Stuff is perfect, restaurant superb!
Anton A — Google review
The lake and the grounds are nice, but there are so many decaying buildings that it gives you the feel that you’re on Shutter Island. There aren’t many places for young kids so it was just a quick trip for us as we couldn’t go walking with them.
Christopher B — Google review
The buffet lunch was terrible, the hotel itself is falling apart outside and a stroll around soon reveals the state of disrepair and abandoned look of everything. I held my wedding reception here 22 years ago before the refurbishment job and it was beautiful. What the new owners have done to the place is bordering on criminal.

Gaube Lake

Mentioned on

Lake
Nature & Parks
Nestled in the Pyrenees National Park, Gaube Lake offers a picturesque alpine setting with hiking trails and a waterfront restaurant. Accessible by chair lift or a two-hour hike from the Pont d'Espagne, visitors can also explore nearby attractions like the Gave de Jeret and Gave de Lutour waterfalls. Adventurous travelers can opt for a challenging trek uphill or take gondolas followed by a scenic 1.5km walk to reach the lake.
The best view ever! There are 3 ways to go up to the lake! Buy cable car, and 2 paths, one is full of stones, kind of like stairs. Definitely challenging and if its rainy day, skip that one! Other is just uphill, i personally prefer that one. Who hike a lot can go to the lake in 1h but who does not (me), it take 2h minimum. But...its worth it!
Marina N — Google review
À two hours walk up and down from the car park accessing the site. One advice, put some sturdy thick waterproof shoes as the path can be both rocky and very wet.
Christophe B — Google review
Cable car, chair lift and 15mins walk to lake. If you buy a ticket you get free car parking. The walk down is lovely, but difficult in places. Please wear good footwear
Lloyd P — Google review
Beautiful lake in the mountains. An hour climbing from the parking and then you get a great view on the lake and the surrounding mountains, which can be enjoyed from the terrace of the L’Hotelerie. And easy to go down with the “telesiege”
Jasper F — Google review
It was a splendid day, enjoyed nature, highly recommended…
Ayşe — Google review
Lac de Gaube boasts an altitude of 1,725 metres. There are two ways to get to Lake Gove. The first way is to go up to the middle of the mountain on the summer lift. Get off the lift and walk for about 20 minutes to reach Lake Gove. For those with a lot of energy, I recommend a one-and-a-half hour hike along the pine forest path after crossing the Spanish Bridge (Pont d’Espagne). If you reach Lake Gove by any means you choose, you will be able to enjoy the spectacular view of the 3,298 meter high peak of Vignemale Mountain reflected on the clear water. Strongly recommend to give a visit.

Beautiful Lake with great hiking trails
Luc — Google review
It’s a good two hour hike with breaks for lunch from the Parking to the lake. You can choose to hike up and come down using the telesiege/telecabin (we did this ) although most people prefer taking the lift up and then trekking down :) either way it’s a beautiful lake and even if you take a return trip with the ski lifts, there’s a nice track all around the lake which is a good walk .. I did the hike with my 6 year old (first hike) uphill and she managed luckily ;)we saw many kids hiking down .. the bar/cafe at the lake is good but only accepts CASH/cheque so carry cash!! Carry a big trash bag as you are not allowed to throw trash along the way and need to carry it back to the parking :)

Pont d'Espagne

Mentioned on

Outdoor Activities
Bridge
Pont d'Espagne is a picturesque national park valley and historic trading route that offers stunning waterfalls and ridges, accessible by chairlift. The area features a large, well-organized car park with free parking if you take the lifts to the top. A gondola takes visitors to the bridge and an impressive waterfall with a nearby restaurant. From there, a chairlift or a 1.
I've been here 25 years ago and it's great to be back once in this place. You can just hang around, but it's a good starting point for beautiful hikes in the mountains (what I did) also lovely walks like the "waterfall walk" (centier des cascades). Been here in June and it was not too busy, guess it can be really crowded in summer, luckily there's a huge parking nearby.
Maarten C — Google review
Nice waterfall and nature place. Dogs not allowed. Not friendly for strollers and toddlers.
Venkatesan D — Google review
My daughter and I had a fabulous walk to Pont d’Espagne and then took the chair lift up to the lake. The €24 ticket price (for two) saved the €8 parking, and was well worth it. The lake was a beautiful landscape to roam about in. But the icing on the cake was the walk/scramble back down the path - a truly memorable walk in the mountains!!
Andrew D — Google review
It was such a magical and mesmerising sight 🩵 The view is amazing! People go hiking here as well which is around 3 hours I heard but we took the télésiège (chairlift). It was closed two weeks ago but it is finally open since the weather allows it. There are two, the first one is a closed capsule and a shorter ride to one base, from there you can walk further, we took the second chairlift which was open as it is also used by skiers during winters. It was mildly scary because we were a bit afraid of the height but it is taken by multiple people for years now so we safely made it. While coming back down it was a little scarier as it kept pausing but that was due to many people getting on so they had to hold and adjust as they had kids along as well. Overall a fun experience as it gets you to the Lac de Gaube and Pont d'Espagne!
Roma C — Google review
Good starting point for some epic hiking! (Or shorter walks if you have to 😉) Lots of parking, but would advise getting there nice and early. Alternatively, there's a regular shuttle bus service from Cauterets - check with the local tourist office for timings.
John E — Google review
Picturesque place 🥰😍 It took around 15 minutes to get to the bridge as it was raining, everything was wet and it was a little bit dangerous to go on foot. But the rain didn't spoil the atmosphere of the mountains, waterfalls, nature if incredible here!
Halyna Y — Google review
Practical information first. The car park is large and well organised, and the parking is free if you take the lifts to the top. Else it is between 7-10 euro for the day. There is a gondola which takes you to the bridge and an amazing waterfall with a restaurant. The walk to this part is quick and easy so perhaps the gondola is not needed. After that there is a chairlift to the top or a 1.5 hour walk. At the end of the chairlift it is a 15 minute easy walk to the lake. You can swim in the lake but it is very cold! Also available at the top is a restaurant but take some cash because there is not much service so sometimes cards do not work. There is a walk you can do halfway around the lake which takes about 25 minutes. It’s a pretty rocky walk. The lake is beautiful and the mountains that surround it are amazing. I recommend this visit to anyone.
Tracy B — Google review
Natural beauty and ahhhmazing. There are a couple ways to get to the bridge and waterfall. One is a paved, upward climbing way- suitable for driving chairs and strollers and for me. There is a more rugged way up- a nice path over stones and rocks. You choose! At the top stop for a drink at the restaurant. Also, this is on way to the lake. From this point, hike up about an hour. From the bottom, take the cable car up and then walk.

Beautiful Place… I Hiked up the Mountain from the North( French Face ) in the Winter it’s prettymuch impossible to do in the winter, almost died on several accounts. BE CAREFUL IF YOU ATTEMPT THIS IN THE WINTER. Aside from that it’s beautiful. Highly recommend. I will be coming back :)
Aaron T — Google review
An amazing adventure to Pico Perdido. Solo climbed it from La Pradesa Ordessa via Ruta de Escaleras(5 resaltes), this is a unique route than the normal route via La Escupidera, but for experts only as it involves exposed section, dangerous when climbing without ropes. The summit is wonderful with open views all around.
Edgar A — Google review
I absolutely love this place. It has all the ingredients for an optimal encounter between yourself and nature at its best. No matter your age, as long as you can open your eyes, the views and the landscape will take your breath away. Pure oxygen will enter into your lungs with every single step you take while contemplating the creation god has given to us. There are trails for amateurs as well as experience hickers. If you happen to be near this area please do take the time to endulge in nature.

It's beautiful, but watch out for the aliens! 👽
Neil — Google review
This outstanding mountain landscape, which spans the contemporary national borders of France and Spain, is centred around the peak of Mount Perdu, a calcareous massif that rises to 3,352 m. The site, with a total area of 30,639 ha, includes two of Europe's largest and deepest canyons on the Spanish side and three major cirque walls on the more abrupt northern slopes with France, classic presentations of these geological landforms. The site is also a pastoral landscape reflecting an agricultural way of life that was once widespread in the upland regions of Europe but now survives only in this part of the Pyrénées. Thus it provides exceptional insights into past European society through its landscape of villages, farms, fields, upland pastures and mountain roads. UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES

The warm welcome by the underground command center personnel was the best part, although the hike is also nice. The static electricity near the transceiver on the surface level is a bit much though.

Grottes de Bétharram offers a captivating underground adventure through limestone caves adorned with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors can explore the caverns on foot, as well as enjoy a unique journey on an underground river by boat and a ride on a small train. The guided tour lasts about an hour and a half, providing an organized and entertaining experience for both adults and children. With friendly guides and audio guides available in multiple languages, the visit is made even more enjoyable.
We've been in Lourdes every year and it's only this year we tried to visit this place. We visited last April 4 around 2pm and It's amazing! We even get a 10% discount from our hotel accommodation. We truly enjoyed our tour. The guide was so kind and knowledgeable and tried to accommodate every person.
M M — Google review
If you're in thr Pyrénées the this is absolutely worth a stop. Beautiful formations a really informative guide and a fun train ride. Note that the accessible regions would still require some ability to walk because its not fully wheelchair friendly and some sections are very steep and it would be a hard push. Would actually say taking a wheelchair here is not a good idea. But other than that it's a great experience.
Crystal D — Google review
A visit to these caves is a must for everyone! They are huge, beautiful, interesting, and the boat and train ride are fantastic. Admission cost 17 euros per adult, our kids entered for free as they are younger than 4 years old. A bus picked us up from the free-of-charge car park and brought us to the entry of the caves. From there we started our journey through the mountain. The guide was experienced and Audio-Guides in various languages were available. These sometimes stop working but the guide can provide quick assistance. The geology of the caves are stunning. We really enjoyed our visit here although we didn't have time to visit the store and café at the end. We'll be back!
Pascal B — Google review
An excellent experience, containing a short boat ride and a train. The caves are beautiful and there are many stalagmites and stalactites to discover. Our guide, Gaston, was excellent and had a lot of insights into the cave, as well as many jokes along the way. One thing to be aware of, the cave water makes people go slightly bonkers while in the cave.
Alex C — Google review
The best cave system I have ever visited and I have seen a few over 60 years in many countries. There are audio guides available in several languages. The combination of a bus ride, walking, boat ride and a train ride makes the whole experience unique.
Andy L — Google review
Very impressive experience goes 5 level down in the cave - the start doesn't look much impressive but wait untill you go down and start about 1km walk between the rocks. Hint: We bought online tickets for a dedicated time slot and arrived there 15min earlier as recommended. It all went smoothly and we were inside within 15min. You need to park your car and then take the shuttle to arrive the entrance of the cave. The tour guides speak French and if you do not speak French audio guides available in many languages which is good enough however you wouldmiss the jokes and additional information unless you have someone to translate for you :)
Merve G — Google review
Five level underworld, with a river flowing at the bottom, full of cave features. Everything is lit and ready for walking. Definitely worth a visit.
Glen C — Google review
Amazing caves, beautiful underground atmosphere. Unfortunately, the guide only spoke French, you had a headset that translated English at certain stations pre-recorded, The guide continued to speak in French, pointing out specific things to the group, If you do not understand French, you’re missing out on all of the jokes and interesting things, along with answering questions. French patrons were laughing many times at what the guide was saying, it was not on the pre-recording for translation. Then, at the end of the tour, the guide asked for tips, even though we did not understand what he was asking for, gestures, such as putting his hat out open like a peasant on the street without explaining or translating in English, very disappointing, disrespected, our language barrier. Recommend if you understand and speak French, but other than that, probably not worth your time.

(Translated by Google) Although it is summer and there is no snow, it is a must-see, the Marbore trail and the waterfalls. A lot has changed, too much tourism. The bridge is under construction, you can cross the old road on foot. There is parking for 3 euros per day, they do not allow parking on the sides, a fine of €200, the Parador with a barrier. I think that for Aragonese it should be free. Just like they do in other autonomous regions where at least they have a reduced price for those there. As soon as you get to Lourdes the air, the senses and everything comes alive. Unfortunately I went without faith but with the knowledge that it was one of our Lady's home. In hindsight it made all the difference in my reversion. Go, with or without faith, Our Mother will love you regardless and grant you graces accordingly.
S. D — Google review
The place where st Bernadette Soubirous is said to have seen the Lourdes apparitions is called the "grotto of Massabielle", which is the most famous place in the sanctuary. The Lourdes water flows from a spring located inside the cave. From 2014 to 2018, the surroundings of the grotto were modified to facilitate the passing of pilgrims through the various facilities around the grotto. A new esplanade was built on the banks, taps providing water from the spring were moved away from the grotto while new fountains for pilgrims were created, baths were renovated and a new bridge was built. Chapel of lights were built on the right bank for pilgrims to light candles.

As a catholic, I’m writing this review with great pleasure and joy. It was my first time in Lourdes and I felt so special and blessed. Please note there’s a candlelight procession happening at 9pm at night every day from April to October. Also there are several mass services in different churches in the premises. You can buy bottles from near by shops and fill holy water. There’s staff that help you with information and guiding you through. Have a pleasant pilgrimage Our Lady of Lourdes, Pray for us

A Place of Deep Faith, Peace, and Healing The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is one of the most moving and spiritual places in the world. From the moment you enter the grounds, there is an overwhelming sense of peace, faith, and reverence. The atmosphere is filled with quiet devotion, where pilgrims from all over the world come to pray, reflect, and find healing. The Grotto of Massabielle, where the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette, is incredibly serene — especially during the evening candlelight procession, a truly unforgettable experience of unity and prayer. The basilicas, chapels, and walkways are beautifully maintained, and everything radiates a feeling of hope and grace. Whether you visit for spiritual reasons or simply to experience its profound tranquility, Lourdes touches the heart in a very special way. A sacred destination that inspires faith and peace beyond words.

Visiting here for the first time was truly breathtaking. The sanctuary is grand, magnificent, and more beautiful than any place I have ever seen. If you visit, you will feel the same wonder and excitement that I felt.

Lovely day taking in the beauty of Lourdes and it's surroundings. Very quiet on a Monday as most places were shut, but we did manage to find one place selling gorgeous crepes.

Beautiful grounds. Inspiring architecture. It's like a religious Disneyland. Healing waters. Round the clock rosary. 25000 seat basilica.

Ibón de Plan is a breathtaking high-altitude lake nestled amidst towering stone massifs and lush pine forests, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers. Accessible via a scenic hiking trail, the journey to this stunning spot offers an array of picturesque views. The hike can be completed in about 45 minutes with minimal elevation gain, making it suitable for most adventurers. Depending on the season, the water levels in the lake may vary as they are sourced from underground springs.
Easy 45 min hike with almost no elevation gain. Great views is a plus. Be aware that you have to pay 3 EUR to use the road to go up the mountain by car from where you can start the hike.

It lies at an elevation of 1,910 metres (6,270 ft) and has been described as a "conifer-flecked cirque".

It is complicated to get there. You have to go to the village of Saravillo. There, after passing the buildings there is an automatic machine to buy a permit. Next step is to take a dust road full of rocks for 14km until Refugio de Lavasar. Then half an hour walk from there. Absolutely no phone coverage. Stay away unless you are driving a 4x4 SUV and with other people.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful place. Entry fee is 5 euros. Be prepared to drive more than an hour on a dirt road to the mountains. But it's worth it. From the parking lot to the lake it's a 25-minute walk. The trail is not difficult. In some places on pebbles, in some places flat valleys. We walked with small children. There are also many stunning views along the road. Well, and the lake among the mountains is very beautiful :) (Original)

(Translated by Google) We did the route that starts from Saravillo, walking in total, round trip to the Ibón, about 19 km, with a difference in altitude of 1000 meters. The last meters were difficult but the views when you get there are spectacular, although it was August and everyone said there was little water... even so, I found it very beautiful.

(Translated by Google) The walk is worth it! It's a fairly well-maintained track; there's a €5 entrance fee. There are a few potholes, but with patience, you'll reach the refuge. From the refuge to Ibón de Plan is about 20 minutes. At first, the path is a little tricky due to rocks and tree roots, but it gets easier later on, and you can enjoy some beautiful views. The lake wasn't very crowded in November, but the tranquility of the landscape makes it worth the trip anyway.

(Translated by Google) From Saravillo, you have to pay €5 to drive up the track. It takes 40 minutes or more to climb the winding, rocky terrain. It gets a bit tiring. Halfway up, there's a beautiful viewpoint, worth stopping to see. Once at the top, there's a kind of parking lot. There are several trails in the area, including ones to see fir trees. Once you reach the parking lot, you see the refuge and turn right; it's signposted there. Go down along some rocks and then follow the path. It's about 20 minutes. You have to cross a small river. Then you reach a beautiful valley between mountains, and a five-minute walk will take you to the lake. (Original) Desde Saravillo tienes que pagar 5€ para subir la pista en coche. Hay varias rutas por la zona, también hay para ver abetos. Una vez llegas al parking, ves el refugio y hay que girar a la derecha, allí viene señalizado. Col du Tourmalet is a renowned mountain pass in the Pyrenees, standing at an elevation of 2,115 meters. It is famous for being a challenging climb on the Tour de France cycling race. The route to Vallee de Gavarnie from Argeles-Gazost can be accessed through the narrow Gorges de Luz or via Col du Tourmalet. Cyclists find it essential to conquer this pass, with both sides offering long and demanding ascents.
Biked up the Col. it’s a grind but the views are phenomenal. Seeing the llamas on the descent was a little surreal.

Pic du Midi de Bigorre is a prominent mountain in the French Pyrenees, home to the 19th-century Pic du Midi Observatory. Standing at nearly 3,000m, it is easily recognizable with its observatory and rocket-like transmitter. The site offers an immersive experience with friendly staff who provide insightful information about its history and astronomy. Visitors can enjoy a cable car ride for stunning views and explore the bistro for a delightful culinary experience.
Hiked up to pic du midi late June. The hike is all the time with wonderful scenery and open views of mountains peaks. Near the lake I met a group of friendly Lama.
Noel Z — Google review
A mountain peak with observatory, restaurant & amazing views... if the sky is clear! When we visited there were a few interesting exhibits, with a photo history of the peak and a sun-tracking telescope where one could see flares. We booked the first cable car of the day so found it nice and quiet. Cost is hard to justify but if you like views and are in the area it's the place to be.
Robin R — Google review
Although very “ touristic” I deeply recommend it. Be careful: it is an experience that takes at least 3-4 hours , including the line to the cable car up and down. At the pic , a cafe that is very expensive, so bring your own coffee and food… Also the area that the guests can walk through is very limited to 2 angles, you cannot look at views 360 degrees around which was very disappointing …
Eli K — Google review
we first became aware of this through a television programme and decided that we had to do it. we wanted to book and overnight visit as we felt that this would give us the best experience. so in August 2023 we booked for July 2025, yes the wait is that long. when the time finally arrived needless to say we were very excited. We arrived at the cable car and were transported to the observatory, we were greeted and had to wait for someone who could speak some English as although we can speak fluent Spanish our French is not so good. we were given directions to our room and then told that we needed to be at a certain point for the welcome meeting. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable. we were not expecting luxury as we are aware that this is a working observatory, but the bed was super comfortable and the views from the windows we breathtaking. we arrived at the welcoming meeting to discover that all of the planned activities would only be conducted in French, we asked if there was any information available for non French speakers only to be told no. Whilst the staff did everything that they could to help and make our stay the best that they could, they struggled to communicate with us. This basically meant that 98% of the planned activities were simply not accessible to us. We missed the planned tour of the facilities as this was only in French so there was not point in us attending this. Dinner was really very good and the food and drink were exceptional. The sunset was spectacular followed by a short film, which did have an English translation, however the following planetarium activity was again only available in French. The night time stars were lovely and although we did get to look through a large telescope the explanations and information meant nothing to us as once again it was only in French. We did have a great time, but for the cost that we paid, to have 98% of the activities simply not available to us it was disappointing. This is a service that attracts and international clientele, to assume that everyone who attends will be able to speak fluent French is completely unrealistic. Not to have written information or audio guides available is simply lazy or arrogant. So my warning would be that yes the experience was amazing it was somewhat ruined by the fact that we were completely excluded from the majority of the planned experiences that were available. if you do not speak fluent French then maybe you should reconsider booking an overnight stay.
Andrew M — Google review
We skipped all the touristic attractions like the cafe and the cable car and came here by foot. Starting from Col du Tourmalet you'll have to cover 14,4 km (round-trip) and 740 m of altitude to reach the mountaintop. Most of the path is a wide road, pretty easy to walk on. However, the topmost part is more difficult, narrow, stony and slippery. I would recommend the path only to trained people with sure-footedness and mountain-experience and without vertigo. In any case, don't forget to bring good shoes, sunscreen, food and a sufficient(!!) amount of water. It is a beautiful hike amidst rocks, sheep, lakes, ruins, mountain-flowers and lizzards. You also have a chance to glimpse griffon vultures at close range. The summit itself is beautiful and scenic, looking down on the mountain ranges and snowy tops of the Pyrenees.
S W — Google review
Beautiful experience on a sunny day. A petty that we can’t see anymore eternal snow with the global warming. A must to do.
Christophe D — Google review
Appalling tourist trap. If you can hike up, sure, that's the way to see this mountain, but paying €160 to be packed like sardines into the telecabine, then restricted to a terrace without access to the mountain itself, was lousy. The restaurant was over €50 each (for a burger), maybe it was nice but we didn't splash. The bistro had coffee & cakes. The planetarium show at €6 each, was just dire - a 20 minute reenactment of early days at the observatory, followed by the most basic explanation of Hydrogen forming stars, without any use of astronomical images.
Morris E — Google review
Great experience - and a must-go in the Pyrenees. The cable car ride is a great adventure in itself - and the view from the platform is awesome! The bistro is a particularly great experience - very nice service and a large selection.

Nestled in the picturesque Louron valley, Balnéa Spa offers a serene escape in the heart of the Pyrenees. The spa is set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains and an artificial lake, creating a tranquil atmosphere for relaxation. Visitors can explore various pools inspired by cultures from around the world, including Roman, Japanese, Inca, and Amerindian designs.
The thermal baths were great! I’ve been to quite a few thermal baths in Europe and this was one of the most enjoyable ones. Very easy to get a ticket from the machines and had multiple languages. No queue to get in and changing rooms were quite empty on a Thursday afternoon in July. There was lots of different pool with all sorts of jets and waterfalls. Loved how there are so many little hidden features like the musical pool and little Roman baths. The water felt very clean and therapeutic. My favourite part was the mineral pools. Two hours is not enough to explore all the pools as there is so much to do!
Rachael — Google review
Not the friendliest/patience for English speakers. Outdoor hot baths are a lovely experience but 2 hours is over far too quick when you include time to get changed, showered etc. 3 hours would feel more of a reasonable duration.
HOLLY — Google review
Very “tired” building. A lot of facilities didn’t work, the interior looks like you are in the middle of the construction work. They need to repair everything. Stuff was unexpectedly rude. The nature outside is great.
Valentina L — Google review
Although we live 75kms from Loudenvielle, we used to love a weekly visit to Balnea. We used to love the pampering - white towels and Prija shower gel included in the service - Japanese baths heated to 40°C - peaceful silence throughout. Gone now are these little things that made our visits so relaxing and worth while. Gone are the white towels included in the entry price. Gone too is the shower gel and the obligation to shower before getting into the baths. Gone is our favourite feature - the Japanese bath at 40°C (now heated to a mere 36°C). We gave Balnea one last visit recently - the chatter and noise everywhere except the saunas was overwhelming; the place was crowded and felt like a public municipal pool facility. A hot shower at home is more therapeutic than the Japanese baths at 36°C. I guess good things never last. Farewell Balnea!
JJ S — Google review
Amazing lunch and lovely spa. Many different themed rooms with varying types of pool/ sauna. Enjoyed the choices, some pools hotter than others. Outside pools have views of the surrounding mountains. Well worth a visit.
Suzanne B — Google review
Wonderful thermal bath with a great idea - you can travel to Japan or Peru or relax in the Roman baths. The thermal water is great - but some restrictions: Unfortunately, long line in front of the entrance - on a Tuesday outside of the holiday season at 2.45 p.m. The changing rooms are really bad, you don't feel well. You are not allowed to wear flip-flops or take a towel with you into the sauna - that means everyone is sweating on the wood and you have to sit in the sweat of others. The very dark shower room is a major disaster, much too small and not discreet. You can't really take a shower naked and clean yourself before and after the thermal bath, that urgently needs to be changed. Please.
Jens J — Google review
Probably the strangest spa I ever visited… and I did visit many, in multiple countries. There are no deck chairs AT ALL. Not even a single bench or chair to sit on. One can be either in the pool or stand somewhere. Staff asks you to leave EVERYTHING in the locker, including towel, book… or whatever else you might need… NOT a place to relax at all. Money wasted.
Alen L — Google review
The shower was cold, pools outside were cold, pools inside were cold. Sauna was warm. People were shivering walking between pools. They said "it's only 3 degrees cooler in the hot pool" and wouldn't find is any kind of refund. AND you've got to wear speedos. 1/10 would not recommend

A tiny lake is surrounded by an asphalt walking path suitable for bicycles, about 2.7 km long. The water in the lake is very cold and looks clean and full of water plants. All around we found fast food places, ice creams, boats for rent and inflatables in the water for children, on the shore of the lake in front of the attractions, a lot of noise... make your decision where to sit. Behind the boat rental business are convenient and relatively clean public toilets. There is plenty of parking around Lake -the parking spaces are marked "private parking" even those on the main road. Many park there without considering the signage.

Some others moaned about the price of beer, but we found wine to be far better value! The clouds came down and stopped us going for our planned walk, so instead we enjoyed a reviver in the large communal room adorned with typical alpine stuff like skis, deer skulls, and old photos. Lots of interesting walks start from here and there's a big car park. Sheep wandered about, some with clonky bells. Interestingly, they walked nose to tail, as if they too were afraid of getting lost in the mist.

Value for money - too expensive! This park should cost 10€ max for adult. It is a nice walk in the nature with the specific animals. 2/5 mainly because of the price. For 10€ I would give it 4/5, not more.

I came specifically to see the bears and the pine marten. At the start of the park, the animals looked well and had good spaces. When I saw the bears, I was very sad..they had quite a small space to their size, and they seemed distressed. They were pacing back and forth constantly, it just seemed they were unhappy. Maybe I am wrong, and they were doing their morning exercises! It was the same with the pine marten, I only saw one and again it was going back and forth with no purpose, didn't appear relaxed and comfortable at all. The other animals were in pairs/groups and appeared well and content in their spaces.

Lovely animal park in the middle of the forest, almost every kind of animal had young ones which gives me the feeling all in all they are in good shape. Very natural feel to it. Mind you that most of the park is shaded in the morning so bring warm clothes, in September it was already chilly.

These people will steal your money and have no idea what customer service means. I made a reservation for gear rental online. When I arrived at 8:30 am to pick up, turns out the place is not located at the address posted in Google. Also, the hours are incorrect. They open at 9am. When I tried to call keep sending me to voice mail saying they were close. I'm a tourist and I was part of a group and we had an agenda. Since I couldn't get ahold of these people I had to rent gear somewhere else to be able to move on with my vacation trip. As soon as I had wifi access. I respectfully sent an email asking to cancel my reservation and get my money back because their contact information was all wrong and as a tourist I have limited communication. They literally say that it was my fault because they call me and that they will not give me my money. I explained my phone is from the US and didn't have full service. That they could have emailed me but thy never tried to contact me until I emailed them. So I respectfully ask to them to understand that is a big deal when you work in a tourist spot and your contact information is all wrong. Because this is how tourist find you. They basically ignore me and just charge my credit card. That's stealing. Not to mention some of the local businesses I asked for information said that it wasn't the first time people come and ask looking for these guys. So it have happened before.

Nestled in the stunning mountain range, Baqueira-Beret is a world-class ski resort that offers an unforgettable experience for winter sports enthusiasts. Situated in Val d'Aran, this fabulous destination boasts top-notch facilities and breathtaking slopes. The resort's proximity to parador hotels like Arties and Vielha adds to its allure, providing convenient accommodation options for visitors.
We loved skiing Baqueira. We had great lessons through the ski school on the mountain. The views are incredible. Cafeteria 2200 was a great place to stop. The routes were great for my young son and for me. I hope to return.

This is a nice ski resort. In fact, the largest ski resort in Spain. Easily accessible by car. The whole area is very nice. 2h away by car from Toulouse and 3.5h by car from Barcelona. Plenty of slopes. Only 1 green slope so not quite good for beginners. Children area isn’t bad. Food and drinks on the slope are good and not expensive. Very large underground parking is available right under the gondola lift. 15 euro for the whole day. Daily ski pass cost 70 euro. (Winter season 2024/25) 160km slopes in total. Friendly staff all around.

What an incredible place to ski, amazing slopes with every level slopes from beginners to advanced and expert skiers. The Baqueira Beret slope system is not only in perfect conditions, but also very well supervised and taken care of. There are 4 main mountains to ski, 90 slopes and there is enough to not do one slope twice. They have a lot of artificial snow makers that give you a great ski experience even days away from the last snow fall. The views are great, ski pass prices are around 70€ per day and come with an insurance in case of accident. Rescue patrols are always on the lookout. There are numerous number of ski and Snowboard schools if you’d like to take private of group classes, prices starting from 75/h. If you are looking to rent, Intersports or La Rider are great places to get good quality equipment. Amazing ski location! Don’t forget to go to the Aprés Ski at the Moet & Chandon bar (in Beret) or at the 1500 bar (at the base of Baqueira)

Great Resort in general! Just sometimes have to drive to other parkings higher up because of the amount of people, and in the morning hours you can get stuck in traffic. The resort is huge so you will always find some slopes with few people even when you would think that it'll be crowded

Baquiera Beret is like Europe's hidden gem of a ski resort. Compared to their more pricey and popular resorts further north, Baquiera is shockingly very good in both absolute and relative terms. Even in relatively late season, we experienced snowfall literally every day we were there, pretty much guaranteeing amazing snow and powder experience - this compounded by the fact that the resort is relatively free of large crowds (especially in neighbouring mountains Beret and Bonaigua) and you get some of the most pristine and pleasant pistes in the world. Infrastructure is excellent with a combination of cable cars and chairlifts that allow you to easily explore the extensive and diverse of pistes of Baquiera; not to mention the accessibility of restaurants, bars and cafes spread out across the resort should you need a quick refreshment or a leisurely meal overlooking the stunning landscape. The resort boasts a variety of pistes for all skill levels and stamina, offering scenic long runs and technical but still very enjoyable runs in the blacks. I love that many of the trails effortlessly converge and diverge from each other so that you can have the option to move from challenging to easier pistes effortlessly making meeting up with friends regardless of skill level a relatively easy affair. While English is not widely used and minimally understood (except for the more central services of the resort), we rarely faced problems communicating our needs and people were patient and generally happy to help you. Even a little knowledge in Spanish (or even better, Catalan) will go a long way in getting you around enough to enjoy your time there. Will it still retain its charm in the coming years as more people discover this understated resort? It's hard to say, but it's definitely become one of my favourites!

Nice experience. Not so crowded for the big holiday (6-9 Dec) in Spain. The slopes are wide, well kept and the lifts are nice, for could be better and then, on the downside, very little life in town, there’s only one “club” Tiffany’s and it was a pain to find good restaurants that weren’t absolutely crowded.
Andrés C — Google review
Great resort. Quieter than most and plenty for all standards of skier.
Steve R — Google review
Very nice ski center, quite big and with some very runs. We spent 5 sunny days skiing in late February. Most of the lifts are modern and fast. The ski center was quite crowded but the queues were moving fast. Lots of parking available, we found the ones up in Beret and Orri the most convenient. What was annoying were the traffic to get to the ski center and to leave from it. Especially during Sunday it took us almost 2 hours to return to our hotel in Vielha which was just 15 km away! All in all, it is highly recommended.

We (family of 4 with 2 kids of 12 and 14) have spend an afternoon with our monitor Kevin for our first canyoning experience near Cirque de Cagataille. It was a great experience that exceeded our expectations! Kevin was very experienced, patient and fun. He explained all we needed to know to move through the water in a safe way but always offering more challenging routes for our more secure kids. During our afternoon, we came across multiple challenges like slides, jumps up to 4 meters, rapels, tobogans and a small dead ride. The valley was a marvelous piece of nature with multiple falls and canyons, under a beautiful deck of old trees. It was our most amazing adventure here in the Pyrenees and worth every penny!

Village Gaulois - Archeosite

Theme park
Tours
Village Gaulois - Archeosite is a reconstructed Gaulish village with realistic constructions and various activities for both children and adults. The friendly welcome and the mobile application provide a guided experience throughout the discovery. Workshops such as tailoring in leather, copper, and coin-making keep children engaged while transporting them back to the times of the Gauls. The park offers knowledge through guided activities and independent exploration, making it an educational rather than an amusement park.
A recreation of a Gaulois village complete with reenactors demonstrating traditional crafts such as weaving and leather working. It feels very immersive. They’ve also got a restaurant so you can spend the afternoon there.

A real tourist trap, Very disappointing experience. We came here expecting an afternoon of activities for the kids and left after 2h. There were 3 activities that took about 5 minutes each, for the rest nothing interactive and just looking at unmotivated people who only speak french. For 90€ for 5 people, this is a real tourist trap (and yes, we have done similar parks in the past where the experience was way better) In short: Best to stay away

Grotte du Mas d'Azil tunnel

Nature & Parks
Historical landmark
Many prehistoric cave painting & artifacts have been found in this cave carved by the Arize River.
We were on the way by car and just passed it. But it was so amazing that we returned to the parking spot, and repeated it on foot. On the parking spot is also a clean toilet.

The cave is a geological oddity with rivulets and roads cutting through it. You can walk around and see the surrounding area. To visit the museum(the cave), I recommend you make a reservation online in advance. Also, the ticket includes the other museums in the village. You can come and have a picnic. There are free parking spaces and one small restaurant next to the cave that you can get a drink/food before or after visit the cave.

One of the most iconic caves of South Western France. Huge, very well conserved, easy of access and open all year round. The entrance fee of 11€ for a guided tour is worth for discovering in depth archeological sites within the cave. I'd advise traveling across the cave by car - jaw dropping.

A huge cave going right through the hillside. Big enough for a road to use it as a tunnel alongside the river. There is a small car park at the end and then you can walk into the cave and towards the museum. The surrounding countryside is very pretty with lots of hiking available. Alas we didn’t have time so I can’t comment on the museum or the surroundings in detail. But the cave is cool!

Pierre-Baudis Japanese Garden, nestled in the heart of Toulouse, offers a serene escape with its meticulously designed landscape. This tranquil oasis celebrates the bond between Toulouse and Kyoto, featuring traditional elements like a tea pavilion, stone lanterns, and a koi pond. This is a traditional Japanese garden located within Jardin Compans-Caffarelli. Modeled after the gardens of Kyoto, it was created in 1990 and named in honor of Pierre Baudis, the city’s mayor at the time. The garden faithfully recreates key elements of Japanese landscaping, including a red arched bridge, bonsai trees, a sand garden, bamboo groves, stone lanterns, and a koi pond. It offers a serene, exotic retreat within the urban landscape, inviting visitors to enjoy a moment of peace and harmony in the heart of the city.

really enjoyed this little garden only small area is actually Japanese. There is a small pond with Koi fish and turtle which is interesting to see. there's a Japanese building on the on the pond which provides shade and some minimal seating. Be careful as some paths are made out of stone and uneven so better in mind if you're going with elderly however most of them are flat.

Couvent des Jacobins

The Couvent des Jacobins is a remarkable Dominican edifice in Toulouse, known for its Gothic architecture and as the final resting place of Saint Thomas Aquinas. The Eglise des Jacobins boasts ornate stained-glass windows, while the Cloitre des Jacobins features graceful russet-brick columns surrounding a green courtyard.
This is one of the more beautiful sites that we visited in Bath - the stained glass windows are lovely! It was free to visit the church itself with only a 5 Euro charge each to visit the adjacent cloister. Both are recommended and can be toured in about an hour.

The Convent of the Jacobins in Toulouse is a beautiful and peaceful place. The interior is striking, with its elegant brick columns and calm atmosphere. Although the exterior is currently under renovation, it’s still well worth a visit. Built in the 13th century by the Dominican Order, it holds great historical and spiritual significance, especially as the resting place of Saint Thomas Aquinas.
Sofia C — Google review
This is an incredibly beautiful building. It’s worth taking a couple of hours just to enjoy the building aside from anything on display. The exhibitions are incredible and the acoustic for music amazing. The gardens are just so gorgeous. Make sure you allow enough time to visit.
Jacqueline K — Google review
Along with the cathedral, this is a must see in Toulouse. It is five euros for adults to enter, but it is absolutely worth it. With the restoration work that is going on the exterior. The entrance is via the refractory. In here, several of the lunettes have been removed from the walls and are being restored on the ground. The church chapter house and other areas are absolutely fascinating. There are many audiovisual guides which explain some of the amazing architecture and history. It would be very easy to spend an hour to two hours, marveling at this beautiful building.

The Convent of the Jacobins in Toulouse is simply breathtaking .The brick walls feel warm and grounded, while inside, the soaring palm-shaped vault seems to lift your spirit upward. The couvent amazed me with its main church: a row of giant columns supports the vault and divides the space into two parts. Otherwise, the monastery has a traditional structure with an internal garden with arcades.
Olga I — Google review
The convent is one of the most significant examples of Southern French Gothic architecture and the historical heart of the Jacobins (Dominican Order), founded in Toulouse in the early 13th century. Construction began in 1229 and was completed in the 14th century. The convent played a central role in scholarly, preaching, and missionary activities across medieval Europe. It houses the relics of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the Dominican theologian and philosopher, whose remains were transferred here in the 14th century. The name "Jacobins" comes from the common French nickname for the Dominicans during that time. The church’s interior is renowned for its palm tree–shaped vaulted ceiling, where ribbed vaults fan out from slender columns. ※ Included in the Toulouse Pass Tourisme.

Basilique Saint-Sernin de Toulouse, a medieval basilica located in Toulouse, France, is renowned for housing relics of 128 saints and a thorn believed to be from the Crown of Thorns. This UNESCO-listed site is one of the largest Romanesque churches in Europe. The church's crypt contains an extensive collection of relics donated by Charlemagne to the abbey on this site in the 800s.
The Basilique Saint-Sernin is an unmissable monument in Toulouse. It’s a stunning and well-preserved example of Romanesque architecture, known for its impressive size and beautiful details. Built in the 11th and 12th centuries, it was an important stop for pilgrims on the Way of St. James. Visiting this basilica is a must for anyone interested in history, art, or architecture—it truly captures the spirit of the city.

It is a nice and clean church, both the exterior and interior are beautiful, it was a pleasure to visit this church during a day trip to Toulouse and a walk around the city center. When we entered the church, young girls and boys were singing religious songs and a good spiritual atmosphere was created. The church was relatively quiet and had the necessary peace. I personally felt very good and I hope you will also have a good experience visiting this church.

The basilica is one of the largest Romanesque-style churches in Europe and a major landmark of Toulouse. Construction began around 1080 and continued through the 13th century. The building reflects a pure Romanesque design with later Gothic additions, combining red brick with pale stone. Its most iconic feature is the 64-meter octagonal bell tower, a defining element of the city’s skyline.

This is a truly mind blowing cathedral. It is the largest remaining Romanesque church in the world. Its soaring barrel voltage ceiling gives a sense of space and majesty. There are wonderful statues and some incredible fresco paintings which have survived hundreds of years. I must see when in this city.

Beautiful architecture. We were lucky that there was a wedding ceremony when we entered so we got to hear the organ play live which was amazing. The entrance is free. Highly recommend a visit.

A more grandiose cathedral, visible from many parts of the city because of the distinctive tower. The access was limited when we visited because there was a service on.

The exhibition and museum dedicated to space and science is truly a remarkable experience. Nestled within a thoughtfully designed science park, the entire experience is both convenient and immersive. What stands out is the careful attention given to explaining the wonders of the universe. I was particularly enchanted by the rover exhibition, which offered a hands-on glimpse into Mars exploration, and the breathtaking moon takeoff and landing simulation, which transported me to the very edge of the cosmos. Overall, this exhibition comes highly recommended for anyone eager to expand their knowledge and ignite their imagination!

Great place. I saw a lot of comments that everything is in French only, well, that's not true, apart from some spectacles, everything is available in French, English and Spanish. However, they could provide some subtitles for the French only parts. I spent there 1 full day, it's enough to see the most important parts and walk through the whole object. If you want to really have full experience and see everything thoroughly, 2 days are recommended. Great place for kids, adults and anyone who loves space exploration. My favorite spectacle was the imax space images. Overall, highly recommended.

There are lots of shows which are really informative and educational. We loved the Mars Rover one, but the only thing was everything was explained in French so we had to use live translation. The planetarium shows has audio guides in english. Other than above this is a great place to visit for both kids and adults who love space.

If you’re in Toulouse and even remotely curious about space, the Cité de l’Espace is a must-visit — especially with kids. I went with my daughter, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had together. The IMAX Deep sky show was fantastic. Gazing at the stars in the Planetarium made us feel like we were travelling through the galaxy. The highlight is the Lune Explorer where you get to experience being an astronaut on a mission to Moon. You can literally feel the 2G force!

It's a must see if you are in the area. I would recommend setting a few hours aside if you visit - especially if you want to check out some of the shows on offer. Planetarium and take off simulations are great - the latter does have quite a bit of a wait time however. Translation headphones are available for planetarium - English and Spanish. There's also a restaurant and food trucks, the only thing missing was a coffee truck for some pick me up. Overall spent around 5h and haven't seen everything.

Love it! Very good place to visit. Full of astronomy, stars, planets, and fun things. Tons of activities to do and see. You would need the whole full day for this. Highly recommended.

Nice space oriented museum, from the first rocket into space, to the future. Pitty that there isn't any Dutch, as a neighbour country this would have been nice. (Translating everything for my kids was exhausting 😁) A lot of interactive stuff, friendly staff, children are more than welcome to experiment and try things. But again, only in french.. A lot to discover, you'll need at least a full day if you want to see everything.

On a warm summer day, we visited the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse with our children—and what an experience it was! The interactive space museum offers an incredible variety of things to see and do, both indoors and outdoors. Our kids were thrilled to try out the simulators (with almost no waiting lines), where they felt like real space shuttle pilots, tractor drivers, and even captains of a fishing boat. Outside, you can walk among life-size spacecraft and even step inside some of them—something truly unique in Europe. One of the highlights was the panoramic theater, showing an engaging film about the galaxy and our solar system. It's just a pity that much of the content was only in French. For a museum that celebrates European cooperation in space, we had hoped for a bit more multilingual accessibility 😉. We had a great time and, honestly, ran out of time after four hours of exploring. Whether it’s sunny or rainy, this place is absolutely worth a visit!

Is a Nice outlet, perfect yo go with kids. They have a good sélection of stores and playgrounds to keep kids busy while shopping. Also they have a Lindt store, chocolaté there is so delicious, i really recommend it.

This is a well organized outlet mall with many stores close by Toulouse. The price reduction is not bad but not on all products. I am missing some luxury and France stores, that I would expect at a France outlet mall. The parking lots are big enough but on a busy day it could be to less.
MyView — Google review
I enjoyed there, but the clothes there are really not modern at all. You can find some cafeterias to have a drink but there is no restaurant.
Lubna A — Google review
A really nice outlet mall. It has a nice layout and we found some intresting new brands as well as some classics. Obviously the Lindnt store and it's milk hot chocolate was a highlight for me!

Pros: - Wasn't Overcrowed - nike, Adidas and Puma - not to big. - some fun activitys for kids like a fast run trail with speed measurement

Prices are much lower but less selections. Most of the shops do not offer tax refund.
