The temple stands on a raised, star-shaped platform called a “jagati,” designed for ritual circumambulation and to provide spectacular viewing angles of the detailed carvings. The layout features two main shrines side by side—one for “Hoysaleswara” (King) and the other for “Shantaleswara” (Queen)—both containing Shiva lingas and sharing a large open hall (navaranga) for gatherings. The temple is carved from soft soapstone, enabling extremely intricate work. There are more than 340 large reliefs and numerous smaller panels, primarily illustrating stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavata Purana, as well as scenes from daily life, music, and dance. The exteriors feature eight horizontal friezes at the base, displaying elephants, lions, horses, and creatures, above which are large figurative panels of gods and celestial dancers. Notable are richly adorned Nandi shrines, a Surya shrine with a 2-meter-tall deity, and lathe-turned, polished pillars inside the main hall.

Photo/Videography allowed inside unlike some of the other temples. 👍 One should first go to the interpretation centre on the right side while getting in to get an idea of what to expect here and the history of the temple to appreciate it better. 🙏 Constructed from chloritic schist (soapstone) — soft when quarried, allowing intricate carving, and hardens over time. Each wall, panel, and even pillar is intricately detailed — often compared to “poetry in stone.” Outer walls covered with continuous sculptural bands (friezes) arranged in horizontal tiers. Lathe-turned pillars — perfectly polished, symmetric, and reflective. Ceilings decorated with intricate floral and geometric motifs. Sanctums house Shiva Lingas, each fronted by a large Nandi (bull) pavilion. Difficult to narrate in words (See Pics) 😎 There’s a museum which houses many other sculptures, inscriptions also inside the premises. There’s a nicely maintained garden area to spend sometime after immersing in the beauty of the place. Some area that can be improved are - The road leading to temple from NH/SH can have proper sign boards and roads and traffic can be managed better. Parking lot can be maintained better. Drinking water taps doesn’t work properly.

Sri Hoysaleswara temple at Dwarasamudra (Halebeedu), is a World Heritage Site built at the apex of Hoysala art and architecture. Every inch of the temple has a story to tell, a sculpture to unveil, a witness to the glory of Hoysala era. Even a high resolution camera with all modern features cannot capture the beauty of the sculptures and carvings. This temple is a must visit site to admire the cultural and architectural mastery of the Hoysals.

Grand and magnificent temple! It's a well visited temple with full grandeur. We went on a public holiday and the crowd was huge. However the darshan inside was easy. This temple is huge so do not rush and give good time to soak in its beauty. The huge nandis are absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of parking available outside the temple.

recently visited the Chennakeshava Temple in Belur, and honestly, it left me speechless. The moment you enter the temple complex, you can feel the history and devotion in the air. Every inch of the temple — from the outer walls to the smallest corner inside — is filled with unbelievably detailed carvings. You could spend hours just admiring the artwork and still keep finding new details! The sculptures are so lifelike and expressive — especially the dancing figures and mythological scenes. It’s hard to believe these were carved out of stone more than 900 years ago. The craftsmanship is truly world-class. The temple is still active, so you’ll see rituals and hear bells ringing, which makes the whole experience even more special. I also took a short guided tour (which I highly recommend) — it really helped me understand the stories behind the carvings and the history of the Hoysala dynasty. The surroundings are peaceful, and the place is well-maintained. It’s a perfect spot for anyone who loves history, architecture, or just wants a calm, spiritual break from the busy city life. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it features a star-shaped plan, intricate soapstone carvings, and graceful Madanika sculptures that embody divine beauty.🎶 The Belur Temple Complex, built during the reign of the Hoysala dynasty, is centered around the magnificent Chennakesava Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, renowned for its star-shaped design and intricate soapstone carvings. Surrounding it are several smaller yet exquisitely crafted shrines, including the Kappe Chennigaraya Temple, built by Queen Shantala Devi as a miniature version of the main shrine, and the Andal (Ranganayaki) Temple, dedicated to the divine consort of Vishnu. Other notable shrines within the complex include the Saumyanayaki Temple, honoring another form of Goddess Lakshmi, and the Narasimha Temple, depicting Vishnu’s fierce man-lion incarnation. There‘s a parking fee of Rs.50 collected but no receipt given. No one to guide further, we had to go around the temple and find the parking lot at the back of the temple. 😒 At the entrance need to leave the footwear at the counter, was charged Rs.30 (no receipt given) At the entrance Guides can be availed ( Rs.500 - Receipt given), guides share history and details of the sculptures for 20-25 minutes. Can easily spend 1-2 hours admiring and taking pics. 😎 Theres a stepped pond and a book stall selling books of rhe history of Hoysala and temple in all languages. Best to visit either morning before sun goes up or after 4 pm as the stones gets heated up to walk Have a good time at the temple. Please keep it safe for generations to come 🙏

The temple is over 900 years old and the stone carvings are incredible - every wall has detailed sculptures that are hard to believe were made by hand. The architecture is beautiful and it's still an active temple. Very peaceful atmosphere. Takes about 1-2 hours to see everything. Remove footwear inside and dress modestly. A must-visit if you're in the area. Highly recommended!

I especially loved the mud kitchen items prepared in the old style from our UK side — I’m a big fan! The food was completely tasty, healthy, and reminded us of our roots. The entrance games were on another level, and I had so much fun playing with my little and younger brother. It created beautiful memories for all of us. I sincerely request Agadi Thota to make mud kitchen items available either online or offline, so more people can use them, as they are really good for health. Nowadays, in Dharwad city, I only come across matka water, but not such authentic items. Agadi Thota is a perfect destination to enjoy the real rural beauty and culture of North Karnataka. The farm is well maintained, calm and quiet in lush green surroundings. The activities provided are enjoyable for all age groups. From bullock cart ride, pottery making, boating, rain dance and many others. But mind you they only provide the structure you have to do everything yourself. But the best part is the food of North Karnataka served during entire day..it’s simply awesome..fresh, tasty ,homely and unlimited also.. The staff is very warm and makes sure that whoever comes there have a great time. The concept of organic farming and showing people how to do such type of farming in a very sustainable manner is really appreciated. It’s not about visiting, it can be called as an complete cultural exposure. I would say family outing, school outing or if you are just bored from the life going around. If you are anywhere near Karnataka u must visit this place!

Unkal Lake Hubli: Perfect for Picnics & Peaceful Walks! Unkal Lake is a popular and well-maintained spot in Hubli, ideal for picnics, walks, and quality family time. The lake is large, complemented by a clean garden, playground, and walking pavements right at the entrance. Entry is a nominal ₹10 per person, and car parking is conveniently available in front. While the lake itself is well-maintained with regular de-weeding and attractive new fountains with lights, it's disheartening to see visitors still scattering garbage and plastic, despite efforts to keep it litter-free. A great place to relax, if visitors contribute to its cleanliness.

A great place to spend time with family and friends! The Unkal Lake and garder is the place where you can find real peace and happiness. The place is totally covered with greenery and we can see many view points there so that we can enjoy the lake view from there and can feel the atmosphere. The lake and garden is really wonderful but I suggest to maintain the Unkal Lake more as the water seems to be polluted, and also request each and everyone (including me) to maintain the place and follow the rules so that the lake and garden look better and it's our own responsibility to maintain our area and surroundings clean including public parks, gardens and more. My overall experience was pretty good and I really enjoyed a lot. Most recommended garden to visit for the one who are new to Hubballi, and i recommend those too who haven't visited this place. There are even many more kids playable area so that kids can enjoy and have fun. Best walking trails are available for morning and evening walks and you'll really enjoy it. Huge Parking facility is also available vehicle parking. The ticket is Rs.10 per person and Rs.5 for vehicle (the day I visited). * Online Payment Option is not available. ** No entry ticket and vehicle parking ticket were provided by the ticket counter agent, who was unresponsive.* Overall my experience for this visit was worth watching and I really enjoyed here! Great place for walkers and jogger’s . We could only make 1/4th round of the entire lake . According to the security of the lake the entire periphery of the lake is about 6.5 kms . The lake closes at 07:00 pm . If you are planning to cover the entire round then have ample time before you take the full circle. The lake is just next to Hotel naveen . The pavement have been well laid . There are lights out along the track so that the move may be smooth . There is a sun set view point at the enterance at a heightened location . There is an eatery/restaurant at the entrance where you can grab snack before you set out for walking . Entrance fee is 10/- and parking fee is also 10/- . If you are in Hubballi and not sure where to go in the evening then this is a good place to explore .

I am a resident of Jaipur and have been visiting lake for long walks ever since childhood. I have seen people from all walks of life come to lake for morning and evening walks. I like to walk the talk here with friends and family. The environment of the lake is very conducive for deep introspection. Watching the sunrise or sunset gives me an exhilarating experience and makes me feel one with God and Nature. Of late you can see the water shimmering like silver if you go around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and makes the whole area look so calm and serene and beautiful. At the other end of the lake there is now a Buddha Park with a very beautiful calm and serene statue of Lord Buddha in sitting pose. At the entrance you will find the lake club, restaurant, lots of vendors selling eatables, and a big play zone for kids where you can enjoy with kids. Also, there are ducks in the lake which you can feed or go for a boat ride. There are plenty of things to do here. It has become an activity centre for people. All in all an enjoyable experience.

I visited here on 20-Apr-2025. Serene place. Parking available. 80 rupees per person. There is a small stall where you can get water and other stuff. From parking to the view point there are steps, climbing upstairs will be a little breathtaking so do have water in hand. One of the best places to visit in Dandeli. Some people do park their vehicle at the ticked counter and tend to walk, trust me it’s doing to be tiring better take your vehicle till the parking place.

It's a wonderful heaven-like place. You can see various types of rock elements in one giant Syntheri rock. The beauty the rock has with underwater has a great impression.

“A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence."... ............ Exploring Karnataka....at Dandeli...... The famous monolithic granite.....Syntheri Rock..... At a distance of 31 km from Dandeli and 16 km from Ulavi, Syntheri Rock is monolithic granite structure with a height of 300 feet, which is located in the dense forests of Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. It is one of the top Dandeli tourist places to visit. Syntheri Rock is a huge, massive limestone rock formed due to volcanic eruptions some million years ago. It is named after an English lady called Ms. Cinthera who is believed to have discovered this place in 20th century. River Kaneri passes along the side of this rock. Owing to the flow of the river from the vicinity, erosion has resulted in the rocks getting hollowed. The corners of this rock cave are inhabited by numerous pigeons and honeybees. Entry to the venue is controlled by forest department. The site can be reached either by jeep or by walk through the dense forest from the entrance. At the entrance visitors need to pay nominal entry fee and vehicles can go up to the parking area from where visitors need to climb down to reach the base. There is a 15-20 minute walk from the vehicle parking to the rock. A flight of 200 odd steps downwards lead you to the base. The steps are very steep and various types of rocks found in the forest are displayed along the steps.

Avoid this resort at all costs!!This place is a complete scam. They lure people in with positive reviews and photos of a different resort, but when we arrived, they shifted us to another property called *Wildernest* without any prior notice. When we questioned them, they gave a vague excuse, claiming they assign resorts based on "availability." Since we reached late at night, we had no choice but to stay. The resort we were sent to was poorly maintained, none of the promised activities were available, and the worst part — they served the *same food* for all three days! If you value your time and money, do not book this resort. It completely ruined our vacation experience.

This resort is very good for families and couples. It is also good for students to enjoy your holidays. They provides good service and they have great hospitality service. We have enjoyed a lot in the resort. I had recently visited with my family of 12. Great service and rooms was clean and hygienic. They served hot 3 meals with veg and non veg food it was so tasty and yummy. Staff were friendly and polite. The adventure activities was good. I had visiting in the resort for 2 days with my family. Resort was beautiful and amazing. It was located in the jungle and Surrounded by beautiful lush greenery and nature orintied. This is the perfect place for any one looking for unwind from the city hustle and bustle. Rooms: They have red stone cottages, premium rooms, garden view commando tent and camping tents. The cottage were clean and well Mentained. Food: They have buffet system with unlimited veg and non veg food. The quality of food is too good and tasty 😋. They served time to time hot food and service was too good. Staff's: The staff were friendly and helpful. Every staff went out if the way to make every guest feel comfortable. Mainly santosh sir helped a lot he arranged everything we need. His efforts made our visit even more memorable. Activities: There a lot of activities like archery, dartboard, caroom rain dance campfire and also they have a pool and baby pool also our children enjoyed all day in the pool. They will give 3 water sports activities in the package like kayaking, boating and zorbing it was good and thrilling we enjoyed a lot in the river. If u visit dandeli u must do water sports activities it was thrilling and wonderful ✨😍. Jungle Safari: they have jungle trekking option by walk in the morning only. And they will guide govt. Jungle zeep safari also it's cost 650/- pp. Sight seeing: near by sight seeing places like Disney park, crocodile park and moulangi eco park. Ambiance: if u are searching a resort in dandeli. I will truly say it is one of the best jungle resort in dandeli. highly recommended to visit everyone to visit this wonderful place.

We travelled on 11th Oct 2025. Jeep safari had just opened a day before after the monsoon break. It's recommended to start the journey early we started at 8 am . It is a one hour journey by jeep to the waterfall. You will be given 90 minutes at the waterfall. Additional time can be spent at additional charges. It is the best time to visit as waterfall is in full flow post monsoon. Jeep can accomodate 7 pax . 600 rs per person or 4200 per jeep. Forest check point charge 250 which includes life jacket charges. Pls do not litter this beautiful natural paradise.

A must visit place for people seeking some adventure. You have to reach Kolem by your convenience. Then you’ll have to book local jeep that will take you near the waterfall which would take around 45min. Then there’s 5-10 minutes of hiking and you’ll see the beauty of nature. That’ll cost around Rs 850/- including the forest charges which is 250 Rs. You’ll also get a life jacket that’s included in 850 Rs. You’ll also can also swim in the waterfall.

Good place for adventurous trip. You have option to go for hiking treking and jeep tour. It takes 45mins to go by jeep from the forest gate. Some places you cross the streams and full bumpy road for 45mins. You will be given 90 minutes to enjoy at the water falls. These jeep drivers charge waiting charges if you cross 90 mins. Avoid if elders with back pain. Also the water fall area doesn't have proper fencing support railing or any proper means to stand. Plenty of changing rooms but not maintained properly. You have a life guard near the water falls. Rocks are very skidy and be cautious.

Heavy Queue up to 3-4 hours for buying ticket, after ticket buy seat in their bolero around 45 min then you reach dudhsagar waterfall parking area… after that 10 min walking for dudhsagar waterfall, after seeing you feeling just wow… awesome location.. but time taken.

Writing down so that anyone who wants to go can have an easy trip. Things to note: You cannot take your personal vehicle after the ticket booking point in Kullem. No shops inside, so take your water bottles with you. The road is very very rocky. Anyone with back problems is adviced not to go. You will need to pay a maintanence fee, its about 220 per person. Carry cash, they do not accept any digital payments. Theres 3 ways to reach the actual falls. The first 2 options are a trek. You can trek from Kullem or Castle Rock. The trek from Castle Rock is almost a whole days worth trek and you will need a guide. The one from Kullem is about half a days worth. The roads to reach there are also very muddy mostly because of jeeps that keep crossing the road. I personally would not recommend the trek because it's not very scenic, the roads are bad to non existent and is dangerous in general, especially from Castle Rock. And you can't take a jeep back from there either because jeeps already have their passengers pre-booked from the ticket point. The only advantage of the trek is that you can stay at the falls as long as you want. The third way is to book a jeep. Best way imo. They run non stop from the ticket point. It's 500 person(on top the maintanence fee). They'll drop you at the final leg, from there you have to trek for 10mins. A very simple trek. You get 1.5 hours at the falls. Enough to see whatever the falls has to offer.

It’s an easy to moderate trek for around 11.5 kms one way…the view is not much what we expected but was okish. The guide will force you to take the train track route but please make sure you take the forest route for better view and experience.

There are Two ways to Explore the Mighty Falls, one in by Trek and other is Jeep safari which is 4200 per jeep (Rs.700/- per Head) if you are less then 7 you can share with others. By Trek is very difficult for Inexperience, its took 3 hours up and 3 hours down total of 6 Hours Walk. Forest Entry Ticket is Rs.250/- per person. Jeep Travel time is 45 Min up and 45 min Down. They Gave you 1.30 Hours for bath in Falls if waterflow is low. The 1.30 hours time is not enough for everyone because we cant get out of the falls due to its carry such joy and wild experience, they gave you life jackets so don't worry about if you not know to swim. Overall I highly recommend everyone must visit this Falls once you are in GOA. Timing 9.0 am to 3.0 pm. Checkpost is walkable from Kulem Railway Station, which is 30 min from Madgoan Junction.

Beautiful waterfall, especially in monsoon, but with the hanging bridge closed and fencing around, the overall view feels little restricted. But it’s good for people’s safety.

Amazing place. The falls apparently will look better during rains. Other attractions include a Hoysala styled temple and the British era Gokak mills next to the falls.

We traveled from Chikkodi to Narasobawadi and found it convenient using KSRTC buses. The journey took about an hour by public transport. We visited on a Thursday and were able to have darshan within 10–15 minutes, which was great. A delicious lunch was served at 12:30 PM

-Get down at main entrance, we mistakenly had dropped down backside gate. -Senior citizens are allowed to sit in the entrance if any large queue was there. -Inside temple, womens are separately in queues to have Darshan as its Mahalaxmi Temple. -Drinking water facility available when you come out of Darshan. -Several shops available inside for shopping devotional items. -Peda Prasad nearby exit of Darshan is the cheap and best which was sold by local guys. -Also, Laddu Prasad sold by Temple committee. -Best part is free Bhojanalaya as like in Shirdi was available and taste was very good. (Variety Rice, sabhji, butter milk, sweet.) -Timing 12PM to 3PM -This is located in backside of temple which is of 50m distance from temple. -Free Tokens are given in main entrance and backside gate. -Volunteers/Members inside Bhojanalaya strictly instructs all devotees to not waste food. One should complete his/her food and allowed to get up for handwash. - Plates for children were asked there parents before giving in order avoid wastage of food. - But this Bhojanalaya is present in 1st floor, which is a very big minus point for those where not able to step up. - Footwears are to be kept outside Bhojanalaya.

Beautiful and very very old temple. Powerful vibes can be experienced. Crowded throughout the day. We had gone in the afternoon and early morning and both times the temple was crowded. We were blessed to have a security officer help us out of the blue as my mom couldnt stand and wait in the queue for long hours. Once inside you can feel the essence of an old temple and the idol is so so mesmerising! Truly blessed to have got a chance to visit the divine Mahalaxmi!

I visited the Kaas Plateau end of October. The flowering season was almost over, but i was not an inch disappointed. The valley is magical with the clouds streaming through it. It was truly a splendid experience, i will cherish for the rest of my life. The walk to the Kumudini lake with bring forth a freshness you have never felt earlier. Must visit if you are in Maharashtra.

A must visit World Heritage site..! I visited in second week of September. Drive on ghat road is very scenic. Stay overnight to enjoy the calmness and feel those energetic vibes of nature ir can be done in a day as well. Booked morning slot of 7 to 11 and reached parking area. Ample parking and food options both veg and non veg. Takes around 2 hours to roam around and admire the nature.

We went there on the last day of the season after most flowers have withered, yet the place was heavenly. The crowd was almost non existent. The meadows were carpeted golden yellow. The staff was very cooperative and the facilities were good . A bus picks you up from the parking lot to the gates , from where an electric buggy drops you off inside . Here you are free to walk around and enjoy the park . The breeze was cooled and the the park was a lush green which made it a beautiful experience.

It's good, it's a land of 10 Sq Km. Having 800+ species of plants , different types of flowering plants are covered in huge areas. The plateau is formed by volcanic rock. The best time to visit this area is from post June to the mid September to experience nature. We visited in mid October and found a few flowers. We can call it wild plants. Visitors who stay past 4:30 p.m. often have a better chance of spotting wild animals, as many species become more active during the late afternoon.

Atlast visited one of the bucket list of mine. It's worth to spend our time to visit this place but unfortunately climate not supported on that day. Also it's blooming season come to an end. Kaas is hilly village located 23 km away from satara town. Bus and private car and bike services connectivity are available. The riding.experiance to this village was mesmerizing natural seenic views to till reach this village. Kaas pather or kaas plateau is awesome ecosystem regconised by UNESCO world heritage site. They charged repuess 50 per head. Rest room is available. Small eataries shop are there.

1 of d best & must place to visit fr nature lovers, particularly flower lovers. Best time to visit- after 15th Sept to max 2nd week of Oct. Avoid to visit during heavy rain. Beautiful flowers everywhere on plateau. Min 4 to 5 hrs walk is recommended to njoy all d 4 gates. If 1 want to c Kumudini, he or she must visit via Gate- 4. 1 may also njoy Pithla & Nachnichi Bhaakari, Kulfi, etc. during d said walk. Don't forget to carry water & umbrella...

Table land is the second highest asian plateu in India . From this place we can see the views of following places - 1. Pandavgad , Wai and nearby villages ( previously known as Viratnagari as per Indian Mythology )at the eastern part of plateu 2.Kamalgad at the western part of plateu 3.Dhom dam at the western part of plateu Table land is the great place for people who enjoy long walk, running, playing ground sports. Table land turns more beautiful from 20 September to 11 October every year as this is flowering period of many wild flowering plants found in western ghats .

"We visited this place for the first time and weren’t sure how much area there was to explore. At the entrance, horse riders offered to take us to 10–12 points, but honestly, only 2–3 of them are major spots that you can easily walk to within 1–2 km. If you enjoy horse riding, you can try it—but it’s quite expensive and not really necessary. The natural beauty here is excellent, especially at Table Point. Sunrise and sunset views are truly worth it!"

6 kms valley having historic relation with mahabharat. Where it is believed Pandavas spent their exile here. Pandavas footprints, caves, devils kitchen is here many movie shots were taken here. It's long plateau. Asias 2nd highest Volcanic Plateau. U cannot walk full plateau there are horses and carts which costs around 1400 to roam everywhere and they explain you story. Best to visit during sunset 🌇

One of the best places to visit during the rainy season. Do not go for any guide or so just travel by urself they will only give information on which movie was shot where and which battle was fought and etc. If horse riding available go for it and bargain for it without fail, for 9 spots go for as low as 1200-1500. You will get some picturesque views if you travelling on low rainy days. Do not spend 20 rs on pandav caves, not worth it it's just a simple shiv bhagwan statue without any lights in cave. Note: from June horse riding is banned for three months due to the rainy season.

Wonderful geological structure which encompasses so much beauty around it that people simply get attracted towards it to relish in the beauty of this flat land. Walk on the table land, ride the horse cart or horse back, appreciate the landforms, observe the flora and fauna, click some memorable pictures and be grateful and feel lucky that you visited such a wonderful natural formation...

Absolute picturesque. It has 9 points to visit. Ghodawalas will approach you right outside, you can either take a horse or walk on your own. If you take a horse then try to bargain cause they charge 3600Rs which is super expensive and not justified at all. We bargained to get the horse at 1300 for 6 points and rest 3 points we walked.

Visited yesterday.This is one the best places in mahabaleshwar. Need to pay entry fees to start journey before this point. After this you need to pay 50/- for parking. Try to visit this place in evening to get a good view of sunset. You can take horse ride, boat ride, game shows, activity games and some tasty food items. Try to take horse ride with photoshoot. . Main market and mapro garden is near from this. Good place for spending time. Boating charge 600 for 4 person for 30min.

Plenty of parking accessible near the entrance.

⭐ Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Venna Lake, Panchgani is an average tourist spot — good for a one-time visit, but not something you’d want to return to. The lake itself looks nice from a distance, but it’s extremely crowded, especially on weekends. You often have to wait for hours just to get a boat ride, and the entrance area gets very chaotic. During the rainy season, the place becomes filthy and muddy, and the hygiene is below average. The nearby horse stand adds to the mess — the area is dirty and full of people constantly chasing you for rides. They charge around ₹200 for just 500 meters, which is absolutely not worth it. Parking is another headache — very congested and disorganized. Overall, this is just one of those places you visit once to tick it off your list, not for the experience itself.

It is one of the most scenic attractions in Mahabaleshwar. Beautiful lake surrounded by hills. Great for boat rides while watching the sunset. We went during May end , so the evening breeze by the lake was so soothing. Gets extremely crowded during peak tourist season. There are ample parking spots, but due to the rush of tourists, it is very difficult to find a parking spot nearby. I have seen families walk a considerable distance from their parking area to reach the lake. It all depends upon whether you get a parking or not , if you have a driver, they may drop you at a distance. Apart from this, the lake vicinity has different activities like boat riding , horse riding, etc, and way too many fast food joints selling all kinds of food and drinks. There are fruit vendors , toy vendors , and so many shop keepers all around. If you just want to sit by the lake and watch the sunset amidst all the cacophony , come a bit early and sit a little away from the main entrance point.

This lake is very beautiful. It would have been much better if there was no rain and fog. Boat ride was thrilling and the fun filled horse riding with my son. Plenty of stalls for street food like corn, tea, etc…

We went to Mahabaleshwar hoping to enjoy the rainy season. Packed all our rain gear, umbrellas, jackets, even plastic covers for bags. But as soon as we reached… the rain just disappeared! Not even a single drop! It was like the rain said, “Okay, my job is done. You guys take care now.” Instead, we were welcomed by thick clouds everywhere. Couldn’t see much ahead while driving – the fog was like “peekaboo!” every few minutes. But honestly, the cloudy weather made the whole place look magical. The valleys, trees, and hills covered in clouds looked straight out of a movie scene. We missed the rain, but the cool weather and peaceful vibes made up for it. Sitting on a hilltop with hot chai and roasted corn in that fog… pure bliss. It felt like the clouds came just to give us a cozy hug. So yeah, Mahabaleshwar didn’t give us rain, but it gave us something better — quiet, calm, and some unforgettable views. Highly recommend going there if you want a break from all the city noise. Just… don’t chase the rain. It’s faster than it looks!

Amazing journey, must visit in monsoon. But avoid night driving, visibility is very low in night. Can't see even 20 meter ahead. Otherwise it's just like experiencing heaven in monsoon.

The place is one of the most beautiful hill stations in Maharashtra. Surrounded by lush greenery, scenic valleys, and pleasant weather almost all year round, it’s perfect for a peaceful getaway. The viewpoints like Arthur’s Seat and Kate’s Point are stunning. However, weekends can get crowded and parking is sometimes a hassle. Still, a must-visit for nature lovers and photographers.

From the moment we arrived, the climate was absolutely perfect — cool, breezy, and soothing, just the way Mahabaleshwar is known for. The pleasant weather itself set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting Table Land, a vast stretch of flat plateau offering breathtaking views and a calm, open atmosphere. Standing there, surrounded by nature and fresh air, felt incredibly peaceful. We also spent time at Mapro Garden, which was vibrant, lively, and filled with the aroma of fresh strawberries. Their products, food court, and greenery added a fun and refreshing touch to the day. Exploring the Mahabaleshwar market was another memorable experience. From local snacks and fresh produce to handicrafts and souvenirs, the market had a charming, traditional vibe that made strolling through it truly enjoyable. The viewpoints were equally captivating. Parsi Point offered stunning valley views that felt almost surreal, while Elephant Head Point stood out with its unique natural rock formation and scenic beauty. Each spot had its own charm and added a different flavor to the trip. Overall, this holiday was the perfect mix of nature, sightseeing, relaxation, and pleasant weather. Every moment felt soothing, refreshing, and memorable. Mahabaleshwar truly gave us an all-in-one holiday experience that I would happily relive anytime. 🌄✨

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Hill Station with Stunning Views! Mahabaleshwar is one of the most scenic and peaceful getaways in Maharashtra. The cool climate, lush greenery, and panoramic viewpoints like Arthur’s Seat, Elephant’s Head Point, and Wilson Point make it a must-visit destination. The strawberry farms are a sweet bonus—don’t miss trying the fresh strawberries with cream! The town also has some beautiful temples and the historic Pratapgad Fort nearby for those interested in culture and history. Roads are well maintained, though it can get crowded during peak season. Plenty of good food options and cozy stays. Overall, a perfect place to relax, explore, and enjoy nature!

Visit during monsoon. When we visited there were rains but not heavy downpours. It should be drizzling not heavy rains, if there is heavy rain then the entire place is covered in fog, it would be difficult to drive in the fog in the hill station and also some view points will be closed. Hotels, restaurants and taxi service , bus services are available within Mahabaleshwar and to reach as well multiple bus or cab services available. Weekends will be too crowded, There are 3 temples at the hill top and they are a must visit.

We went to Pratapgad Fort with family. There is no ticket for anyone. It has historic significance. This fort was made by Shivaji when he was 16years old and it was the most smaller fort built by Shivaji. This fort has one ambey bhawani mandir and shivling and hanuman temple which has historical importance. There is also Afzal Khan grave . While you visit take guide he will explain you everything.

Pratapgarh Fort is incredibly well maintained and truly worth every step of the climb. It is easily walkable, making the trek accessible for most visitors, and the views from the top are simply crazy—truly panoramic and breathtaking. The atmosphere inside the fort is palpable; everyone can feel a strong, positive energy during the walk. ​However, prospective visitors should plan ahead for a few logistical issues. There is a possibility of traffic jams on the road leading up to the fort, and finding parking during peak hours can be quite difficult. Additionally, be mindful of the resident monkeys, who can be a nuisance if you are carrying food items. Come prepared, and you will have a wonderful, energizing experience!

Its well maintained and worth every step. Its easily walkable and view is crazy. There's not ample space for parking so adjust accordingly. It gets very foogy by the evening and advised to carry a torch or phone with sufficient battery as there are no street lights and power cuts are frequent. Beach is a perfect destination for families and kids. The beach is clean, peaceful, and less crowded, making it a great place to relax. Beach-facing stays are available, adding to the experience. The calm atmosphere and natural beauty make it an ideal getaway. Must visit with highly recommended!

Murud Beach is another wonderful coastal destination in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. This beach is known for its golden sands, gentle waves, and the historic Murud Janjira Fort situated just off the coast. Visitors can relax on the beach, take a boat ride to explore the fort, or indulge in water sports like parasailing and banana boat rides. It's a great place to unwind and soak in the beauty of the Arabian Sea.

Murud Beach is perfect if you're looking for a mix of relaxation and activity. It’s a wide, sandy beach with enough space to walk, play, or just chill by the waves. The water is usually clean, and the beach is well-maintained, especially near the main entrance areas. You’ll find decent washroom facilities close to the parking zones — they’re usable, though not always spotless. Getting here is simple via road; it’s well-connected from Alibaug and nearby towns. For stays, there are plenty of hotels and homestays nearby, ranging from budget to premium. Evenings get a bit lively with stalls, horse rides, and families enjoying themselves, so it’s not too quiet — but not overly crowded either. If you're planning a short beach getaway, Murud won't disappoint.

*Update : As tourism grows, ignorant tourists have started running the beach. Check my timelapse video to see the filth! Beautiful Beach with water sport activities available. This beach also is supposed to be the safest on the coast with no rocks and a long stretch which doesn't go deeper than 4 feet for quiet much distance. The village has its committee that cleans the beach regularly and thats why they charge daily toll to the tourists.

Clean beach, happy to see people respecting hygiene and not littering everywhere. Crowded: there are more people here as compared to other beaches of Dapoli. Water sports: not much, the waves do not support surfing Rides : Camel, horse cart, banana rides, boat rides, speed boat available here with average safety and hygiene standards. Food: saw many restaurants around the beach. Not so great option for full course meal but tea and snacks options are available. Parking: saw people parking at the beach. To avoid hustle, we parked about 50 meters before the beach in a resort parking (charged 100 rs per car)

This place is very awesome. We went to this beach from our cottage on karde beach in about 10 minutes. In Dapoli this beach is more crowded than any other beaches. You can perform water activities here like para sailing, banana ride, sofa ride. We went to this place at evening to watch sunset and it was awesome view. You can have variety of snacks at this beach. We eated kokan special ukdiche Modak and ghawan chatney at nearby stall. One thing I observed here is local people are very polite and friendly.

The beach is clean. There are water sports like a banana Ride , paragliding etc. You will get approximately all types of food. There are lots of space for leaving on rent.

Rajgad should be the first in life at least once. Chhatrapati Shivarai spent 25 years of his life in this fort. While walking on the fort, we feel like Maharaj... Those walls, fortifications, machi all of them have been touched by Maharaj while walking around the fort. I traveled very happily for 12 hours continuously and was not tired at all, maybe it was the greatness of Maharaja's Rajgad that I didn't feel tired at all... The trekking experience is amazing but a bit challenging, especially in the rainy season when the fort is covered with fog and greenery. Carry enough water and snacks because the climb can take time. Overall, Rajgad Fort is a perfect place for history lovers, trekkers, and nature enthusiasts. Visiting it feels like going back into the glorious Maratha era.

Rajgad Fort is not just stones—it’s where Shivaji Maharaj lived, fought, and dreamed. The 3-4 hour trek through stunning Sahyadri hills made me feel the living spirit of our maharaj. Meeting a fellow trekker from Pune who shared the same love for this place made it even more special. Rajgad is our proud heritage, alive in every tree and rock. There are 2 ways to go to Rajgad fort 1) drive to the place, and 2) trek If one has time and wants some real adventure, I would suggest trek. Difficulty level is moderate but it’s fun. Will take 1.5-2 hrs to reach to the fort

The trek or road climb is fun and not too long. The view from the top is amazing, especially during monsoon when everything turns lush green. Clouds move around you, sometimes covering everything, and the wind feels like it can lift you up. It’s peaceful, refreshing, and worth the trip. Food stalls at the top serve authentic rural Maharashtrian food—pithla-bhakri, curd, kanda bhaji, and lime sharbat. After the climb, it tastes even better. It’s a perfect weekend spot for nature lovers, trekkers, history fans, or anyone needing a break from the city.

Nice place to visit for one day. Good for family, even for children. Better to visit in the morning and avoid sundays. Nice trek if you want to else Parking can be done at the top of fort. Not steep or dangerous driving. Can visit even by 2 wheeler. Need to climb stairs aprox 200 after parking. Washrooms available at parking and at the top also. Nice views. There is lot of eateries for small snacks neare stairs and at the top. Small reasturants where you can enjoy home made lunch made by local people. Food Not too expensive. Enjoyable place. You can take your own food also. Better to carry water.

I’ve been to Sinhgad Fort twice once in winter and once during the monsoon and both visits were unforgettable. The views are absolutely stunning! During the rains, the entire place turns magical with fog rolling in, clouds blanketing the mountains, and the fresh green grass swaying beautifully in the wind. One of the best spots near Pune to enjoy nature, weather, and peaceful views. A must-visit!

- I visited Sinhagad in November and it was really an awesome experience. - There are PMT buses after every 1 hour from Shaniwarwada to Sinhagad [convenient to take before 1pm]. - Two wheelers also available for a day to ride nearby area. - Make sure to meet the locals, eat the food on Sinhgad and feel the power of Maratha on fort. - Very beautifull and easy fort to climb and convenient for children also.

Th trek up Sinhagad Fort through th Sahyadri Hills is breathtaking, w stunning views at every turn. try to visit early morning or on a weekday to avoid crowds, carry H²O, & wear comfortable 👟 for th trek. Parking can get busy on weekends, but th food & views make it completely worth it!

Outstanding place to visit for a vertical 5kms trek and climb or by motor-able road. Will have to still take stairs post trek for further explore… Saturday sunday its busy place with lot of footfall… rainy season is best if its open if not landslides. Best time is to reach by 6 am

The first trek of my life....the view after climbing the stairs for nearly 3 hours was worth it. There is a lord Shiva temple alongside the Samadi of Shivaji Maharaj. It was pure bliss...peace at its best. Simply put the trek was amazing. The best time to start is early morning. The sunrise is worth watching

Had a fabulous experience visiting the fort. Appreciate the Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj for his historical places among the Raigadh fort. About staying experience at private hotel was worse, the local people have made rooms on their roof and charging with very heavy cost so better to plan like that u can reach at early morning and go by night. For a ticket I started waiting in s queue in the early morning at 5am and the counter opened at 7pm so there is no arrangements for seating or coupons systems. Online tickets are consumed very fast so difficult to get it. Government must give more focus on improvement.

This is a well known fort for the Great Maratha Hindu king Sri Chatrapati Shiva Maharaj from where he had ruled the kingdom. At present some part of the fort still available in good shape.

Great place for trecking and scenic views mixed with historical architecture. You can get a cable car in case you dont wanna treck 2000+ steps. Please visit during winter or spring for best scenic views. In summer waterfalls dry up and during rainy season clouds could hinder visibility as was the case with me. Try to reach the place as early as possible in the morning as the night travel could be very risky on the road full of valleys.

Darshan Museum, Sadhu Vaswani Road, Pune 😁 Multimedia museum with light and sound show on the spiritual teachings of Sadhu Vaswani, huge building of 10,000 sft and infrastructure, free entry, show duration around 45 minutes. I liked the 3D multimedia appearance of characters on stage, saw this technology for the first time.

To an extent, that u can see an original video recording of 1966. At the same time the visuals in other sections are 3D for technology lovers and there is very homely and natural environment created for nature lovers... It's something very amazing and different, as u walk through the life of Sadu Vasvani u will also c how modern technology is used to keep him alive through Audio Visual aid. Words can't express the place in its entirety!!! Go and experience for ur self... I had wanted to visit Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir for a long time, and finally got the chance. Even though it was Diwali, the crowd was well-managed, and devotees were able to move around comfortably thanks to the efficient security personnel. One small improvement could be providing a tap or facility to wash hands, as we place our chappals on the stand with bare hands. Overall, the temple is well-organized, spiritually uplifting, and a must-visit for anyone coming to Pune.

For first-time visitors, here are a few useful tips to make your visit smooth: • Avoid taking your car directly into the temple lane. The lane is extremely congested, one-way, and located in a busy market area. You won’t find parking nearby. It’s best to park your vehicle 500 meters to 1 km away and take a rickshaw to the temple. • You can choose a fast-track darshan pass for around ₹100 to directly go for darshan. There is also a regular darshan queue behind the temple where you can go without a pass. • Photography is not allowed inside the temple. If you wish to take pictures, you must visit the temple office and get proper permission first. • There is a shoe rack facility available where you can safely keep your footwear and get a token. Overall, a wonderful and peaceful darshan experience. Just be mindful about the approach road and parking, and everything else will be absolutely blissful. The kids (and adults!) loved the rides. We had a blast getting soaked on the water flume, taking a spin on the classic carousel, and getting competitive on the indoor shooting ride. As evening fell, the park completely transformed with beautiful lights, making the whole place feel truly magical, especially the area around the lake. However, we need to share a very important tip. Our visit coincided with the peak Diwali festival break, and we weren't the only ones with the idea! The park was packed with families, which created a fantastic, festive atmosphere but also meant one thing: a huge rush. This led to a massive number of people in the queues and, as you'd expect, very long waiting times for all the popular rides. We still managed to have a great time and make wonderful memories (the pictures prove it!), but the waiting definitely took up a big part of our day. So, here is our number one piece of advice for anyone planning to visit Imagica during a busy period like Diwali, a long weekend, or any school holiday: It is highly advised to book the Express tickets. It might cost extra, but it will save you hours of standing in line and let you enjoy far more of the amazing attractions the park has to offer. Aqua Imagica is the perfect mix of thrill and fun! The high-speed slides, wave pool, and lazy river make the whole day exciting. The park is clean, well-organized, and the staff is very helpful. Loved deep space ride, it's dark like space with starry ceiling and the speed of 200km/hour the twist and turns will surely challenge your brain equilibrium. Loved it the most. Then nitro roller coaster 160km/hour was amazing too. Gold rush with the speed of 80km/hour is at 3rd rank for me after Deep space and nitro. I for india, Mr india, salimghadh/ banghadh, were good too. Dead drop was a slight disappointing. Chota Bheem ride for kids, sloch monster were good for kids. Dancer / performer's were good treat. The water fountain show at the end of the day was soothing.
