Absolutely thrilled. But beware at eatable counter near water zone the vendor will overcharged on MRP. 1250 / - INR FOR COMBO RIDES #chandigarh #mohali #tricity #amusement #kids

Out of 8, 3 rides are not smooth. Tickets were for a full day but they started denying after 3rd 2-3 chances per ride. It was just an average place.
Pradeep R — Google review
Very less maintenance and water purification, cost is higher when we compare services. Not recommended for families …..
Sukhjeet D — Google review
Very good place. Ticket price is ok for both amusement park and water park.
Parminder S — Google review
Though it was summer time with the sun giving us 40 degrees heat, the water park gave us the best relaxation and fun. Kids will also enjoy the pool activities. Eateries are available inside the park, so no need to bring anything from outside. Ladies and gents can get their costumes at the counter near the water park, cost effective and also get a locker to keep your belongings safe.
Gagandeep S — Google review
Loved this place. There are many rides. I visited with my family. They charges 1150/- for combo on Saturday for Amusement park as weel as Water park(Otherwise normal charges are 1000/- for Water park and 700/- for Amusement park seperately). There are 9-10 rides in Amusement park and 2 Slides in kids water pool and 4 slides in adult water pool. The rides are safe for kids. The water pool are maximum utpo 3 ft in both. The wave pool was working and people were enjoying a lot there. There is a food outlet in water prk and 1 restaurant in Amusement park. They charge 200-/ per plate for lunch if you but it from the restaurant and 150/- if you buy the lunch/thali coupon from front gate while buying the tickets. Tea and coffee is served in Amusement park only and not in water park food outlet. The Resturant staff is very polite, humble and cooperative. The staff of the water park and amusement park is cooperative and helpful. There is a lot of free parking palce. They also have a banquet hall names "Tricity Pride Banquet hall" For functions and parties. They have very big lawns inside the property. They have maintained the greenery, the lawns and park very well. Now I would like to give a few suggestions to the management, if they really welcome the feedbacks: 1. Kindy provide neat and clean and hygienic washrooms. All washrooms must be taken care of if they are charging this much for the facilities. 2. The water must be replaced frequently especially the water in wave pool, which gets hot by the afternoon which means the same is not replaced. 4. Ladies changing Place in water park must be properly ventilated, as it is totally covered by curtains for privacy. 3. They can further add the new rides as available in other Such Parks in Tri-city and elsewhere. We all enjoyed a lot and would recommend it to my friends and family as well for sure. Kindy take my feedbacks positively.
Anil S — Google review
A total waste of time. The ticket price is way too high as compared to the services provided by them. Small pools with dirty water, food was awful and also the changing room was dirty and smelly. Overall, if you live in Chandigarh, mohali or zirakpur and want to spend some quality time with your family or loved ones, consider going to Himachal.

Gurudwara Sri Manji (Baoli) Sahib Ji

Mentioned on
1 list
Gurudwara
Sights & Landmarks
Gurudwara Sri Manji (Baoli) Sahib Ji is a stunning Sikh temple adorned with gilded domes and intricately designed marble prayer halls, set within a spacious colonnaded courtyard. This sacred site marks the location where the sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind, took refuge during his journey to meet Emperor Jahangir. Nestled along G.T.
The Gurudwara Manji Sahib was built on the site where the sixth Guru stayed during his visit to Ambala city. The main Gurudwara building is on G.T. Road (Shershah Suri Marg). Devotees come to this pilgrimage site to take a dip in the nearby pond. They also take nectar from the stepwell built by the sixth Guru during his stay here. Gurdwara Baoli Sahib or Gurdwara Manji Sahib – It is said that Guru Hargobind stayed here on his way to meet Emperor Jahangir. Villagers of nearby Khurrampur Majri complained of a chronic shortage of drinking water. The Guru encouraged them to dig a stepwell and ordered some of the Sikhs living there to help the villagers dig the stepwell and bridge it. On returning from Delhi, the Guru was happy to see that the work was completed. The Sikhs established a memorial platform, the Manji Sahib, at the place where the Guru lived near Baoli.

Very calm and serene place. Visited this place during my SSC exam. The place is beautiful especially at night. There's a pond behind the main Gurudwara which is lovely. They have good room facility to stay at night. Only 300 for a night. Rooms are spacious and they are also clean as well. Although the top most rooms can feel a little hot in summer. But it's the ideal place to stay if you are going for an exam.

Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib Ji is one of the oldest Gurudwara Sahib in Ambala City. Many people come here to pay offerings to Guru Har gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru of Sikhs. This religious place also has a history attached to it. I have shared the details in the pictures. This Gurudwara Sahib has Bauli Sahib. It is believed whosoever drinks this holy water or takes bath from this holy water or She get rid of all the diseases and their wishes will be fulfilled. Waheguru ji Mehar karn 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Waheguru ji. A peaceful religious point (Gurudwara) associated with 6th Sikh guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib ji. He stayed here for 1 night while going to Gwalior jail from Amritsar. And on the request of local people the Guru dug the spot in this location to pour out holy water called Jal.

Nestled in the historic city of its namesake, the Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Center is a beautiful and unique destination that masterfully bridges the gap between ancient epics and modern scientific curiosity. It is more than just a museum; it’s a captivating experience, perfect for a family day out, brimming with fun activities and enriching knowledge. The center’s main attraction is the breathtaking Panorama, a visual and auditory spectacle dedicated to the Mahabharat war. Inside a circular building, a magnificent panoramic painting and a dramatic sound-and-light narration bring the climactic battle of Kurukshetra to life. You don’t just learn about the war; you feel transported to the battlefield, gaining a profound understanding of this pivotal moment in ancient Indian culture and history. Complementing this journey into the past is the Science Center, which is a guaranteed hit with kids. Packed with interactive exhibits and working models, it makes complex principles of physics and technology accessible and incredibly fun. Children can engage with hands-on activities that spark curiosity and make learning an adventure. Beyond the indoor exhibits, the complex offers a lovely backyard park. Here, children can enjoy swings and, to their delight, often spot playful rabbits hopping around. This green space provides a perfect setting to relax and is a good place to click some beautiful pictures, with the unique architecture of the center serving as a fantastic backdrop. Whether you are a history buff, a science enthusiast, or a parent looking for an engaging outing, the Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Center delivers. It’s a place where you can spend quality time, where every corner offers something new to discover, making it an unforgettable and highly recommended experience for all ages.

Brahma Sarovar, located in Thanesar, is a significant Hindu water pool surrounded by sculptures and temples. It is a historic site that has been mentioned by the 12th-century scholar Al Beruni in his memoirs about India. The sarovar attracts pilgrims, especially during solar eclipses when it is believed that taking a dip in its waters can absolve one of all sins.
A place with religious significance. It is believed that Lord Brahma performed a yajna here in which all demigods participated and since then this place is called Brahma Sarovar. A well maintained place. Lot of locals come here for morning and evening walks. There is a Hanuman ji temple outside the premise and Shiva temple inside along with Maa Katyayni temple and some other temples too. Very peaceful and serene place. In the evenings aarti is performed at the sarovar, just like Ganga aarti. We couldn’t attend the full aarti as a huge storm suddenly brewed up in Kurukshetra at the time of aarti. There are many incidents marked on the pillars which have sone relevance to Kurukshetra. I loved the place and it’s upkeep.

I had the chance to visit Brahma Sarovar in January this year, and it was truly a beautiful and peaceful experience. The place holds immense historical and spiritual significance, yet it’s surprisingly less known among tourists. The energy here is something you feel the moment you step in. It’s serene, scenic, and deeply rooted in India’s legacy. I really hope more efforts are made to promote this hidden gem—India needs to know more about treasures like this!

Brahma Sarovar is an ancient, sacred, man-made water tank in Kurukshetra, Haryana, India, associated with Lord Brahma and the Hindu faith. It is a significant pilgrimage site where devotees take holy dips for spiritual purification and which hosts the annual Gita Jayanti festival, commemorating the birth of the Bhagavad Gita. The area is also significant for its connection to the epic Mahabharata and offers a serene, peaceful environment with a traditional evening aarti ceremony.
Puppala V — Google review
Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra is an absolutely breathtaking place, blending natural beauty with spiritual tranquility. The vastness of the area is the first thing that strikes you—spanning across acres of land, it offers a serene and peaceful environment perfect for relaxation and reflection. The large ponds that fill the Sarovar are equally impressive, but dirty waters. One of the most memorable experiences here is the evening Aarti. The atmosphere during the Aarti is nothing short of magical—the sounds of devotional chants and the fragrance of incense fill the air, while the setting sun casts a golden hue over the entire area. It's a truly spiritual experience that brings a deep sense of peace to anyone who takes part in it. The sight of graceful swans gliding across the water adds an extra layer of charm to the place. Watching them move in harmony with the water is both mesmerizing and soothing. Whether you're a spiritual seeker, nature lover, or simply looking for a peaceful spot to unwind, Brahma Sarovar is the perfect destination. The combination of its natural beauty, spiritual energy, and the peaceful ambiance makes Brahma Sarovar a must-visit when in Kurukshetra. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a meaningful and peaceful experience!

This place is known for Krishna where he gave updesh to Arjun before the start of the Mahabharata war. It is sacred place to visit and learn about life. Visiting in the evening in the best time as it has light and sound event. It is too good. It is must to watch for anyone.

Place is well maintained. It reminds the period of mahabharat war and when Arjun refused to fight against his relatives, Loard krishna told him to fight as his karma and not to seek the fate of war because everything that happens is as per the wishes of bhagvan krishna.

Historically, it is an important place but very poorly maintained. Sarovar here is also not properly maintained. Scenes of Mahabharta are created through statues but kept in the rooms which can be seen through windows. Very faithful and peaceful and beautiful palace. Spiritual healing and peace are the properties of the Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib, one of the most revered Gurudwaras in Punjab. Located in Lehal, a part of Patiala, it is famous for its curing properties for any ailments that anyone may be suffering from. Visitors have faith in abluting in the holy water of the pond here, because of its healing qualities. Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib's origin is tied to a villager named Bhag Ram from Lehal, who sought the blessings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to end a mysterious plague afflicting the area. In January 1672, the Guru visited Lehal, spending time by the village pond, preaching and meditating under a banyan tree. His presence and meditation led to the plague's eradication. Consequently, the site where Guru Ji meditated came to be known as Dukhnivaran, meaning "the end of all sufferings", and this name was given to the Gurudwara. Between 1748 and 1782, Raja Amar Singh of Patiala established a garden in honour of Guru Tegh Bahadur's special visit, entrusting its care to Nihang Sikhs. Court records from 1870 mention a garden belonging to the Guru and a well, used by the Nihangs. In 1920, plans to build a railway line threatened the banyan tree where Guru Tegh Bahadur had sat, but workers refused to cut it down. Consequently, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh cancelled the project. Although a Gurudwara had not yet been built, a committee was formed in 1930 to raise funds and begin construction. Twelve years later, in 1942, the building was completed under the supervision of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh, a devout Sikh. True to its name, Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib is believed to alleviate grief for those who visit with a pure heart and offer sincere prayers.

Gurdwara Shri Dukh Nivaran Sahib is not just a religious site; it's an oasis of profound peace and spiritual solace. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere envelops you in a sense of calm and serenity. The architecture is stunningly beautiful, with the gleaming white marble and gold domes creating a majestic yet welcoming sight. The complex is incredibly well-maintained, with spotlessly clean premises and beautifully landscaped gardens that invite quiet contemplation. The highlight, as the name suggests ('Dukh Nivaran' meaning 'Eraser of Sorrows'), is the peaceful and uplifting energy of the main sanctum. Listening to the continuous recitation of Gurbani (Guru's hymns) is a heart-touching experience that feels truly liberating. The Langar (community kitchen) is run with immense dedication and selfless service (Seva). The food is simple, delicious, and served with so much love and warmth, embodying the core Sikh principle of equality and community. Whether you are seeking spiritual blessings, historical knowledge, or simply a quiet place to find inner peace, this Gurdwara is a must-visit. The volunteers and staff are helpful and humble. An absolutely unforgettable experience that stays with you long after you've left. Highly recommended for everyone.

Shri Kali Devi Mandir, a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Kali, was constructed by Sikh Maharaja Bhupinder Singh in 1936. It is a highly revered religious site that remains bustling throughout the day with devotees seeking blessings from Maa Kali and hoping for their wishes to be fulfilled. Situated in Patiala, this must-visit temple boasts of new infrastructure and a well-maintained parking area.
We visited the temple on a Sunday and believe me it was too crowded. We don't get to see the deity properly as the priests will literally push you away. Frankly speaking, cleanliness of the surroundings of the temple needs to be worked on...it was littered with garlands, wine bottles and Puja items. If these things are not allowed inside the temple..then it must be restricted.

Maa Kali Devi Temple in Patiala is one of the most revered temples dedicated to Goddess Kali, often considered second in significance only to the famous Kalighat Temple in Kolkata. The temple exudes a strong spiritual and peaceful atmosphere that many visitors immediately feel upon entering. It is not just a place of worship but also an important cultural and historical landmark of the Royal City Patiala. Saturdays usually attract large crowds of devotees, so those who prefer a calm and unhurried darshan may plan their visit on weekdays. The temple has long been known for its deep-rooted traditions, including stories of immense devotion where devotees make unique prayers and offerings out of divine faith. Overall, it is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to experience the spiritual heritage and living devotion that defines Patiala’s connection with Maa Kali. The Maa Kali Devi Temple in Patiala also houses a much older and revered temple of Maa Rajarajeshwari within the same premises, located centrally inside the complex.

“LUNGS OF PATIALA” This monicker perfectly describes Baradari Garden in Patiala. Huge open green, peaceful place for morning and evening walks. Added attraction is the chirping of birds which has just about gone extinct in our concrete jungle of the city. Hugely popular for songs and film shoots of Pollywood and Bollywood. You can find innumerable species of flora in the vast space. As the name suggests this garden had 12 entrances. Parking available at many entrances. Rides and games available for children. Hugely popular in Sunday’s’ and holidays. Open air gym is also very popular with all age groups. But it needs regular maintenance. Some of the equipment are not in proper working order. Cafeteria and clean toilets available. Must visit place in the summers. There is a marked difference in atmospheric temperature as you enter this garden

A must-visit for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and find peace. Perfect for a stroll, picnic, or simply soaking in the serenity."

As you stroll through the lush pathways, you are greeted by the delightful chirping of birds, a sound that has become increasingly rare in our modern concrete jungle. This garden serves as a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Baradari Garden is not only a haven for nature lovers but also a popular destination for filmmakers, frequently hosting songs and film shoots from both Pollywood and Bollywood. The garden is home to a diverse array of flora, showcasing countless species that thrive in its vast expanse. Families will find plenty of entertainment options, as the garden features rides and games that are particularly popular on Sundays and holidays, drawing crowds of children eager for fun. Charan Kamal (Tibba Road Ludhiana) Gurudwara is a significant Sikh shrine that holds historical and spiritual importance. It marks the location where Guru Gobind Singh rested after enduring hardships, and it features stunning Sikh architecture. The annual fair in December celebrates the congregation of this holy place. Visitors describe it as a calm, spiritual place where one can easily connect with the divine and find inner peace.
This holy place is sanctified by the visit of Guru Gobind Singh. After the battle of Chamkaur Sahib, enduring hardships, he pushed his way through the thick jungles infested with thorny bushes. After an arduous journey, he lay down on the bare stony ground for rest in the garden of Masand Gulab Rai. Here his pathan devotees Ghani Khan and Nabi Khan recognised him and provided all facilities to the great Guru. From here Guru was taken in a Palki (Palanquin) disguised as 'Uch Ka Pir'. For this purpose the Guru put on a blue dress and so did his disciples accompanying him. The plan they adopted, proved a total success. Only once Mughal army intercepted the procession of the Guru but answer of Nabi Khan and Ghani Khan was so convincing that no suspicion was raised by the Mughal soldiers Thus Gurdwara Machhiwara has became a place of pilgrimage. upto this day people remember the two Pathan brothers Nabi Khan and Ghani Khan with great respect as they risked their lives in serving the Tenth Master. Gurdwara Charan Kanwal, Machhiwara, Dist. Ludhiana After agreeing to leave Chamkaur as commanded by his Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh escaped into the night and the jungle surrounded by the enemy troops. In the dark the Guru was separated from his three Sikh and left alone in the dense jungle. Guru Gobind Singh trudged through the jungle day and night, his clothes tattered and his feet blistered. Eventually the Guru reached the outskirts of Machiwara town and lay down to sleep in a garden in some bushes on the ground with a stone as his pillow. Here he was found by the three remaining Sikhs Daram Singh, Daya Singh and Man Singh. This gurdwara marks that spot where Guru Gobind Singh was found sleeping. Guru Gobind Singh drank water from the well that appears in the foreground. Gurdwara Chubara Sahib, Machhiwara, Dist. Ludhiana A Sikh named Gulaba Singh lived in the town of Machhiwara and provided Guru Gobind Singh and his three Sikhs refuge in his house at this spot while the enemy where prowling the countryside looking for the Guru with orders to capture or kill him.

Best time to visit is during day in winters and evenings in summers. General cleanliness of the park is good. It's a good place to bring kids as the park holds good amount of playbees for them (on a payment though) . Best amongst them is the rent a bicycle, where one can hire a bike for self and the kids too and ride it on the bike track inside the park. There is a place which houses the eats, reasonably priced (vegetarian only). Hygiene along with taste including variety would be rated at 7/10.

Hardy’s World is a delightful escape for anyone looking to beat the heat or simply have a day filled with fun and adventure. Nestled on the outskirts of Ludhiana, this water and amusement park offers a lively mix of attractions that cater to both thrill-seekers and families with young kids. The water park section is a refreshing highlight, with wave pools, splash zones, and twisting water slides that offer just the right amount of adrenaline without being overwhelming. It’s especially enjoyable during the scorching summer months when the cool water and vibrant energy make it feel like a mini vacation. On the amusement side, the rides range from classic favorites like the roller coaster and giant wheel to more kid-friendly options that keep the little ones engaged. The park’s atmosphere is cheerful and relaxed, with decent food options scattered throughout—think chaat, ice cream, and quick bites that keep you fueled for the day. While it may not match the scale or polish of international parks, there’s a certain charm in its local flavor, friendly staff, and affordable pricing that makes it accessible for most. Cleanliness and maintenance could use a bit more consistency, but the overall experience still feels worthwhile. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or just want a break from the everyday grind, Hardy’s World provides a satisfying dose of joy, laughter, and splashy memories that stick with you long after you’ve dried off. It’s not perfect, but it sure knows how to show you a good time.

I had an amazing time when I recently went to Bathinda's Rose Garden. My visit was made really pleasant by the wide variety of flowers, the lovely picnic areas, and the roomy play area that brought back memories of Appu Park. Families will love the ambience, which is enhanced by the thoughtful design of the garden. The variety of flowers used to create the lively and colourful environment really amazed me. The availability of clean picnic areas made it possible to unwind in the middle of the wilderness. It was a welcome surprise to see a large play area similar to Appu Park, which kept kids and families entertained.

Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, located in Talwandi Sabo near Bathinda, is a deeply spiritual and peaceful place. It’s one of the five holy Takhts in Sikhism and holds great importance, as Guru Gobind Singh Ji finalized the Guru Granth Sahib here. The Gurudwara’s calm atmosphere, sacred water tanks, and historical relics make the experience truly moving. Visiting during Vaisakhi is especially beautiful, with the whole place filled with devotion and energy. Though there’s no direct train, it’s an easy drive from Bathinda. Whether you’re religious or just curious, the visit leaves a lasting impression on your heart.

Visiting Takht Damdama Sahib is a truly spiritual and enriching experience. As one approaches the revered Sikh shrine, the tranquil surroundings and the resonant sound of hymns create a peaceful atmosphere. The white marble structure, set against open skies, instills a deep sense of devotion and reflection. Pilgrims gather, offering prayers and listening to recitations of the Guru Granth Sahib. Participating in langar (community meal) highlights the unity and equality valued here. The historic significance of the takht resonates throughout, allowing visitors to feel both humbled and uplifted. The warmth and hospitality of the people leave a lasting impression.

Gurudwara Shri Tutti Gandi Sahib

Gurudwara

Sacred & Religious Sites
Built by Sikh settlers in 1743, this gurudwara commemorates the Battle of Muktsar in 1705.
Historically very important and pious place for the Sikh’s. it is here that the 10th guru of sikh, Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji liberated the 40 sikhs (40 mukte) after they fought the mughals having previously deserted guruji in Anandpur Sahib.
Harmeet M — Google review
Gurdwara Shri Tutti Gandi Sahib is a powerful historical site located in Sri Muktsar Sahib. It marks the moment when Guru Gobind Singh Ji, after the fierce Battle of Khidrana in 1705, forgave the 40 Sikhs who had earlier signed a bedava (letter of disownment) and left Anandpur Sahib during a siege. After witnessing their supreme bravery and martyrdom in the battle, Guru Sahib personally tore the bedava paper — symbolizing forgiveness, acceptance, and spiritual liberation. This act gave them the title of Chali Mukte (Forty Liberated Ones). The gurdwara stands on the spot where Guru Ji tore the document (Tutti Gandi means “torn bond”), turning a painful past into a tale of redemption and glory. The site is a deeply emotional reminder of loyalty, sacrifice, and Guru Sahib’s boundless compassion. Every Sikh should visit to connect with this heroic chapter of Sikh history that inspires devotion and courage.

Kiraun S — Google review
1705 Battle of Muktsar Under the pressure of a prolonged siege with food and ammunition exhausted, Guru Gobind Singh and 400 Sikhs left Sri Anandpur Sahib on the bitter cold and rainy night of December 1704. The Mughals and Ajmer Chand's league of Rajput Hill Chieftains had offered Guru Sahib a safe passage to leave Anandpur Sahib on an oath sworn on the Quran, an oath that had been signed by emperor Aurangzeb, as well as, an oath sworn on the Gita and the cow (which hindus consider sacred) by the Rajput Chieftains. However, their respective 'Holy' oaths proved to be meaningless as they lost little time betraying their promises to Guru Sahib, almost as soon as the Sikhs had left the safety of their impregnable fortress. In the ensuing battle, many Sikhs were killed and all of the Guru's baggage, including most of the precious manuscripts, were lost. Guru Gobind Singh was seperated from his family. The hindu and muslims forces were responsible for torturing and killing Guru Gobind Singh's mother and all 4 sons, at Chamkaur and Fatehgarh Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh started looking out for a suitable place from where he could defend himself. Assisted by an experienced guide of a Brar chief, Guru Gobind Singh reached Khidrane Di Dhab where he finally decided to meet the enemy. Guru Gobind Singh received news that he was being pursued by the imperial troops, an advance guard of at least 10,000 strong, under Wazir Khan, the evil subedar of Sirhind. Earlier, in 1704, when the Guru Gobind Singh's Army in Anandpur Sahib had run out of provisions, 40 Sikhs from Majha deserted him, where they signed a declaration saying they were no longer the Sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh and he was no longer their guru. Now, those 40 deserters came back to join the Guru's forces, realizing their mistake of deserting him, under the motivation of a woman fighter, Mai Bhago. The Sikhs engaged the mughal forces at Khidrane Di Dhab. Guru Gobind Singh also sent reinforcements, heavily outnumbered they showered arrows from his strategic position on the mound, down upon the imperial army, killing a number of them. The resistance of the Sikhs became fierce. The enemy became restive for want of water. It was not possible for them to reach the lake of Khidrana. As it was semi-desert terrain and the summer heat was reaching its peak, Guru Gobind Singh knew of its importance and based his defenses around the water reservoir. The only water they could get was fifteen miles behind them. The tough resistance offered by the Sikhs, and thirst, compelled the mughal army to retreat. Guru Gobind Singh won this last Khalsa battle, which had resulted in heavy casualties. At the end of the battle, when he was looking for survivors, Mai Bhago, who was lying wounded with 22 wounds on her body, told Guru Sahib how the forty deserters had laid down their lives fighting in the battlefield. Mai Bhago had fought by carrying a weapon weighing 11 kilograms. Mai Bhago recovered and remained in the Guru's presence after the Battle of Muktsar. When Guru Gobind Singh, along with his Sikhs, was collecting the dead bodies for cremation, he found one man, named Mahan Singh, still clinging to life. On seeing the Guru, he made an effort to rise; the Guru at once took him in his embrace, and sat down with him. Mahan Singh, tearful and exhausted, asked Guru Gobind Singh to destroy the document disclaiming his being a Sikh of the Guru. Before Mahan Singh died, Guru Gobind Singh took the document and tore it up. This gave "Mukti", meaning freedom, to those 40 Sikhs and hence, the city received its modern-day name Muktsar, where the word "sar" is derived from the word "sarovar", meaning reservoir, with reference to the Kidrana reservoir.

A historical Gurudwara Sahib situated in Shri Mukatsar Sahib. A long before, this place was known as "Khidraane di dhaab", when "40 mjhails" usually reffered as "40 mukte" got martyred here during fight against mughals, this place got this new name" Shri Mukatsar Sahib". Guru Gobind Singh Sahib spent a long time in this area in his lifetime. A must visit place for every Sikh pilgrim.

Gurudwara Sri Tutti Gandhi Sahib-Shri Muktsar Sahib Muktsar is one of the holiest Sikh cities. If you have relatives in Punjab, then you may ask them to take you around. On the other hand you can hire a car/cab from Delhi or Amritsar. We decided to travel on our own. There is a direct train from Delhi to Muktsar (DLI – FKA express train; number 14731) but its time of arrival at Muktsar (2353) may not suitable for a first time traveler. Since Amritsar and Damdama Sahib (at Talwandi Sabo) was also on our itinerary, we decided to travel from Amritsar to Bathinda by train. The JAT-BTI express (19226) leaves Amritsar at 0155 am (slightly late, but transport is easily available in Amritsar especially in the vicinity of Golden temple) and reaches Bathinda at a favorable time at 0935am. You should book a sleeper for the night. On the other hand you can take the FZR intercity (train no 14625) from Delhi Sarai Rohilla station at 0645am which reaches Bhatinda at 1240 noon. From here you can travel to Takhat Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo (30 km) away, or go to Muktsar which is about 50 KM away. There are buses from Bathinda bus station, going to both this places. The bus station is about 3km from the Railway station and the three wheeler will charge you only ten rupees for a journey there. I stayed at Basant hotel, situated right in front of the railway station. A bus ride to Muktsar cost 50 rupees one way and the journey takes about one hour. From the bus stop you can take a rickshaw to the main Gurudwara complex of Muktsar called the Sri Darbar Sahib. There are 4 Gurudwara (Gurudwara Tuti Gandi Sahib, Gurudwara Shahid Ganj Sahib, Gurudwara Tambu Sahib and Gurdwara Mata Mai Bhago Ji) and a Museum in this area and a further 3 Gurudwara about 3 Km away (Gurudwara Tibbi Sahib, Gurudwara Sri Rakabsar Sahib and Gurudwara Sri Datansar Sahib) Gurudwara Tuti Gandi Sahib ( Sri Darbar Sahib) marks the site where the 40 Sikhs who had parted company with Shri Guru Gobind Singhji at Anandpur Sahib, having repented, returned back and fought the Mughal . They all attained martyrdom here, were forgiven and blessed by the Guru (master) as the liberated ones (Chali Muktas) and are remembered daily in the Sikh prayers (Ardas). By forgiving them, Guru Gobind singhji retied the knot between himself and these Sikhs. This is referred to as Tuti Gandi ( ‘broken- retied’), and at this site is now situated Gurudwara Tuti Gandi Sahib ( Sri Darbar Sahib). There is a large tree, in the vicinity of this temple where Guruji had tied his horse. These 40 were cremated by Shri Guru Gobind SinghJi behind Gurudwara Tuti Gandi Sahib and there is a Gurudwara there, called Gurudwara Shahid Ganj Sahib. There is a large sarovar (sacred Pool) in this area and near one corner of it, are situated two more Gurudwaras. One of these is the Gurudwara Tambu Sahib marking the spot where the 40 muktas took position behind trees and shrubs which they camouflaged to look like tents during the war. Next to Gurudwara Tambu sahib is the Gurdwara Mata Mai Bhago Ji who had motivated the 40 Sikhs to rejoin the Tenth Sikh Guru. She was injured but survived this war. Don’t forget to visit the the museum in this complex. You can have food in the langar (free kitchen). There is also a sarai with 40 rooms for accommodation. However I did not stay in the sarai as I travelled back to Bathinda the same evening. I understand from internet search that there are a couple of hotels in town but none was visible to me. Those who visit this place, are to remember that the birth place of the 2nd Master, Shri Guru Angad Sahib Ji is situated nearby, just 15Km away at Sarai Naga village on Muktsar –Kotkapura road. The three wheeler charged me 300 rupees for a return journey. Please note that the roads of Muktsar are in bad shape and not befitting the importance and tourist potential of this town.

If you're in for a treat in history then it's the best thing out there. We were visiting someone at Suratgarh and when I was scrolling through Google maps, I found Kalibanga there. It literally took 45-50mins to get there (Suratgarh to pilibanga by train and pilibanga to kalibanga by bus) "What an amazing place it is." In the museum, we were creating our own theories by looking at every piece of whatever is there. We roamed around the excavation site for like 2 hours and then left. Highly recommended for history lovers.

All the Indus Valley Civilization sites in India are not in tourist circuits / routes. One such Early Harappan and Mature Harappan site of Kalibangan is in Hanumangarh District of Rajasthan. It is a must visit place if you are in the area. Besides visiting the beautiful and informative ASI Museum, one could also visit actual excavation site. However, there is nothng much to see on the site as all critical areas have reportedly been covered again for preservation. It would be better to buy tickets scanning QR code at the Museum instead of buying in advance from ASI website which may not function correctly at times. All the terra cota shards seen scattered over entire area in the photos are suupposed to be from Harappan Era!

Visiting Junagarh Fort in Bikaner felt like stepping into a grand chapter of Rajasthan’s royal history. Unlike most forts that sit atop hills, this one stands proudly on flat land, making it easier to access—especially for senior visitors. The moment I entered, the intricate carvings, beautifully painted ceilings, and royal artifacts took me back in time. Every corner of the palace complex had a story to tell—from the royal bedrooms to the weapon galleries and ornate courtyards. The fort is open from **10 AM to 4:30 PM**, and the ticket price is quite reasonable—₹50 for Indians and around ₹300 for foreigners. Audio guides cost about ₹350, but I chose a local guide who was both informative and entertaining. He explained the history with such passion that it made the whole visit more memorable. Accessibility-wise, the fort is fairly senior-friendly as it’s on level ground and cleanly maintained, though a few narrow stairways and uneven sections might require caution. Parking is available near the entrance, and staff members are quite helpful if you need assistance. Overall, my experience at Junagarh Fort was both educational and emotional—a glimpse into Rajasthan’s regal charm without the hassle of steep climbs. The guide’s storytelling, the preserved grandeur, and the sense of calm inside made it one of my favorite stops in Bikaner.

Junagadh Fort, Bikaner is a stunning blend of history, architecture, and royal heritage. The fort is beautifully maintained, with intricate carvings, grand courtyards, and ornate palaces that showcase the richness of the Rajput dynasty. The museum inside is impressive too, offering a closer look at weapons, costumes, and artifacts from centuries ago. The entire tour feels like stepping back in time. A must-visit place in Bikaner for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys exploring royal culture.

Junagarh Fort is an absolute gem in Bikaner! Unlike most forts built on hills, this one stands proudly on the plains — yet looks grand and majestic. The architecture is stunning, with beautifully decorated palaces like Anup Mahal and Phool Mahal showcasing intricate carvings, mirror work, and vibrant frescoes. The museum inside is fascinating, with royal artifacts, old weapons, costumes, and even vintage aircrafts and carriages. The guided tour was excellent — the guide shared some amazing stories about Bikaner’s royal past. The fort is very well maintained, clean, and great for photography. I’d recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon for the best light. If you’re in Bikaner, don’t miss Junagarh Fort — it’s a perfect mix of history, art, and royal charm!

The fort is amazing. After whole tour, I was just mesmerized is a beauty and the history that it serves. I forgot the Red Forts of Delhi and Agra. The architecture is amazing. Most amazing sites are Anup Mahal and Holi chowk. The whole court is covered with art. Well preserved by the royal family. The ticket is 100 (fort) + 50 (royal museum) for Indians. This staff is good and helping. Must visit for all in a lifetime.

A building of utmost heritage importance. Tour guide was biased and wouldn't tell anything. But the fort is beautifully made and was evolved with various generations. Various materials can be seen used over different regions and walls. Hints of indo - Islamic design, maratha style, British mostly - as the late prince was their favorite - can be spotted at various spaces. Sandalwood singhasan is a show stopper.

Hi If you visiting Rajasthan don’t miss junagarh fort and palace. This is the most beautiful palace accosting me compared to Udaipur and Jaipur. The collections are so colourful you will go flabbergasted . Pictures will tell the story . I am not good at photography. Still the photos seems to be extraordinary 😊

The ticket counter closes by 4:30 PM, so make sure to reach early and book your tickets in advance. You can hire a guide from outside, or opt for a free government-approved guide included with your entry ticket (though you may need to wait a little). Inside, the fort showcases magnificent royal courts adorned with gold and silver, and the intricate architecture and detailed wall designs are truly captivating. It usually takes about 30 minutes to explore the entire palace, depending on your pace. Parking is available inside the fort premises, and since the fort is centrally located in the city, you can also explore the local bazaars nearby after your visit. Overall, a beautifully maintained fort that gives you a glimpse into Bikaner’s royal heritage and grandeur.

The Seth Bhandashah Jain Temple, a stunning gem from the 15th century, stands out as one of Bikaner's most exquisite Jain temples. Renowned for its intricate architecture and vibrant wall paintings, this temple showcases a harmonious blend of white marble and red sandstone that radiates elegance. Inside, visitors are greeted by beautifully carved pillars adorned with floral motifs and captivating depictions of the lives of the 24 tirthankars—great teachers in Jainism.
Situated at Bikaner. One of the most fascinating aspects of the temple is its construction. Unlike traditional temples built with water, the Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple was constructed using clarified butter (ghee) as the primary binding agent. This unusual method has resulted in a structure that exudes a unique charm and has stood the test of time. The temple's walls are adorned with exquisite carvings and vibrant paintings depicting scenes from Jain mythology and religious practices.

This is the famous Shwetambar Jain 'ghee' temple of Shree Sumtinath prabhu. With a chaumukhi pratima as well. It has 40,000kg ghee in the foundation of the temple. In the summers the floors feel greasy by themselves. Made more than 500 years ago. Famous for its gold work paintings on the mool gambhara doorway and the main temples domes. Mandir is open the whole day post 6am till 7.15pm. Here clicking photos is not allowed. Nearby there is another prachin Shri Neminath Temple in the garden behind this Ghee mandir. Here you can click photos by paying 50-100 rupees. I have shared picture of the Neminath Temple. Photo. Here red and green colors are used to paint the walls and doors.

The temple is famous for wall painting and art work. This temple was constructed by Bhandasa Oswal in the 12th century. The temple is dedicated to Sumatinatha, the 5th tirthankara .According to legends, 40,000 kg of ghee instead of water was used in preparing the mortar for the construction of this temple.
Shruti C — Google review
The main fact that Ghee was used to make foundation instead of water. The story behind is that people gone to Seth Bhandashah for the donations to make tample. But at that time a drop of ghee spilled off from the hand of Seth and the Seth immediately wiped it by his another hand to avoid weasteage. After seeing this, The priest tonted the Seth that you can't even spare a drop of ghee, how will you make that luxurious tample. The Seth then declared that in making of the foundation of the Tample, the ghee will be used instead of water and all the ghee will be provided by him. The priest had taken it lightly, but next morning what he found that tons of ghee was there as Seth Bhandashah promised. At the time of May and June, one can witness that even today ghee comes out from the floor of tample. The tample is dedicated to First Tirthankar Bhagwan Rishabh Dev

A truly unique and fascinating temple! Dedicated to Goddess Karni Mata, this place is famous for its thousands of holy rats that freely roam around — locals believe they are reincarnated devotees. The temple architecture is beautiful, with detailed marble work and silver doors adding to its charm. At first, the sight of so many rats might feel unusual, but the devotion and calm atmosphere soon make you feel at ease. The temple is quite well maintained considering the number of rats. Try visiting early in the morning or evening to avoid the crowd and heat. Overall, it’s a must-visit place near Bikaner for anyone interested in experiencing something truly different and deeply spiritual. Jai Maa 🙏

Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok is one of the most unique and spiritual places in Rajasthan. The temple is beautifully built in marble with detailed carvings and silver doors that add to its charm. The main attraction is the thousands of sacred rats (called kabas), which are considered the incarnations of Karni Mata’s devotees. It’s said that spotting a white rat here brings good fortune. The atmosphere is filled with devotion and peace. The temple premises are clean and well-managed, and local vendors outside offer prasad and souvenirs. Evening aarti is a mesmerizing experience — highly recommended for anyone visiting Bikaner. 🙏 Tip: Remove shoes before entering and walk carefully as the kabas move freely around.

A truly divine and unique experience — the temple is home to hundreds of holy rats, and it is believed to be auspicious if you spot the rare white one. The temple seems to be under renovation currently, but the darshan was amazing and peaceful. You can feed the mice inside the temple; they are harmless but often move close to your feet, so walk carefully. On normal days, the crowd is minimal, especially during morning hours, making the darshan smooth and quick. A must-visit spiritual place known for its faith, devotion, and extraordinary belief system.

Temple is located 500m off highway. Approach or road from highway towards temple is narrow only one car can pass. Touch have to wait for car to exit then you can take your car in. I recommend to park on highway and walk. Most people after reaching parking place get to know parking charge is Rs 100 and do not park and go back to highway to park. Any day you will have 1000s of visitors guaranteed. You would surely be in queue. There is no arrangement for shoe stand. 1000s of shoes are scattered everywhere. Food grains are donated by devotees are also scattered everywhere. Once you will enter the temple, you will see rats. So much rush that you will get few seconds to see goddess, then you will be pushes away. Even my daughter could not see the goddess, pushes away. Temple is big and magnificent.

Jai MAA KARNII♥️✨ 🐀 Karni Mata: The Rat Goddess of Deshnok Karni Mata, revered as an incarnation of the Hindu Goddess Durga, was a legendary warrior sage who lived between the 14th and 16th centuries in Rajasthan. She is the tutelary deity of the royal families of Bikaner and Jodhpur, credited with laying the foundations for their major forts, including Mehrangarh and Bikaner Fort. Karni Mata is central to the history of the region and is widely worshipped for her powers of victory and protection. Her most famous legacy is the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, often called the "Temple of Rats." This unique sanctuary is home to over 25,000 black rats, known as kabbas, which are considered sacred and protected. The deep reverence for these rodents stems from a famous legend: when Karni Mata's stepson, Laxman, drowned, she pleaded with Yama, the god of death, to restore his life. Yama eventually relented, but reincarnated Laxman and all male members of her Charan clan as rats. Therefore, the kabbas are believed to be the reincarnated souls of her family and followers. Devotees travel from afar to offer food and prayers to the rats, considering it highly auspicious to eat food nibbled by them. Spotting a white rat among the multitude is considered particularly blessed, as they are believed to be the manifestations of Karni Mata herself and her sons. The temple is a stunning example of faith intertwining with unique folklore, where rodents are not pests but sacred family members in an unbroken cycle of life.

The initial surprise of seeing so many rats quickly turns into fascination. Watching the devotees and rats coexist so peacefully is a powerful sight. We came here during afternoon hours and there was almost no crowd at that time. Locals told me that it becomes crowded during special fests, so plan accordingly. There is ample parking space and food options.
