Beautiful temple, I happen to go there on a even call " Ngan wat" which is similar to night market with unique fun park and games. The product and games are so cheap and localize. It's really beautiful how the temple is the heart of the local community. And people both respect and enjoy the temple.

Probrably the best natural park in Phitsanulok. Great walkability overall. there's provided wooden bridge between streams, canal, and large hole/ravine except for a few parts, but if you're precise enough, you can walk over, other than that there's natural stone area and dirt path along with great amount of directional sign to navigate the place (there's also map of this park at the entrance). You can explore this place even if it's raining (light - low medium rain) better than most natural parks, but you still need to be very around slippery rock, bridge, and slugs, too. (You can repell them by using strong perfume and bug repellent) The nature in this park itself is really diverse with many wild flowers, bryophyte, ferns, trees, and other types of plants, plus there's many interesting shapes stone along side the trailway of this park.

I was positively surprised!! As we arrived as announced by phonecall we expected to have accommodation as they offered on the phone. But then the supervisor gave us a book with plenty of houses we could choose. Our house big bedroom and lounge was nicely decorated with balcony outside. But there are many other houses available and during the week our house cost 860THB! Next to it nice restaurants and huge camping. Besides that we wanted to enjoy nature and hiking! There is plenty of it. Many soldiers lost their life in this bloodshed place, so when you go there show respect. Find out for yourself, I am sure you, as we, willcome back. Last not least sherry blossoming in January was finished in February so make your schedule accordingly. This place has a very good scenery the air is clean. Many local teenagers will cone here with their motorcycles.

I want to talk about all what is not good on Phu Hin Ronkla Nationalpark. Everywhere it is very noisy. Impossible to relax here. Most of the disturbing noise noise the people do they are working and living here. Rangers drive motorcycles with not legal exhaust systems.....they are crazy noisy and don't care the customers they are searching a place for relax. And this from morning 5 o'clock till in the night. There are not 10 minutes of silence. You always hear noisy engines and you always have the bad air of exhaust systems. Of course there are customers too they running their motors without drive their cars. There are information don't make noise and no campfires.... But nobody care... To remove only some leafs from the street they use a crazy noisy Motor-blowing machine. This can be done very easy and much better from hand. Nobody care in this Nationalpark the customers have their silence and freedom... We really like the beautiful location of this Nationalpark, but we get crazy and stressed here... The Rangers with the not legal and completely open exhaust systems on their motorcycles you can hear when they are much more than a kilometer far away.... It is crazy... Where is the boss of the nationalpark?????? Months later.... We must talk again. It is crazy here about noise and disturbing the customers they come for camping here and search silence. Although we talked to a boss here, the extremely noise is going on. Nearly all Rangers here use motorbikes with open exhaust systems. Illegal exhaust systems. The Rangers they control the forests here are not the problem for the customers....but sure a lot of problem for the animals here. But the 3 rangers, with their extremely noisy and illegal exhaust systems, they are every day at the Campgrounds make a crazy disturbing for us customers. And nobody stop them. The second problem with extremely noise is the motor leaf blower they use. It's extreme noisy!!! They use this tool much to often. Often every day. Even when only some leafs are on the street. This can be done from hand without noise. Without disturbing the customers. The customers for camping search in Nationalparks freedom and silence. We do not know another nationalpark with noise problems like here on Phu Hin Ronkla. On weekends big groups come for party's with karaoke and drinking. So other customers should not choose this area for camping. But on the whole area this groups can be heard. This is not acceptable in Nationalparks. The people of the nationpark here have no feeling about disturbing their customers. If this is going on, we never will come again. Months later... nothing change here.....again and again we get the extremy noise here ...and everytime they work with this blowing maschines for hours.....!!!!! And this is not all..... 90% of the scooters/motorcycles and most of the cars of the customers have modyfied and very noisy exhaust systems. But all of them they let them in... It is like to live at a highway....extremely noise all the day and till the night. Even in the night they let them in.... This is a Nationalpark!!!!! Where people search silence and freedom. We talked already aot ti this poeple and even to a boss here. Nothing happen....nobody care..... This people have no feeling, no behaviour.... We never saw like this in other countries....is the amazing Thailand?????.......sure not!!! A month later... There is no end to see about all this extremely noisy problems. Nothing happen....no one care about. If we try to speak with the people of the park they hate us. When we ask to speak with the boss of the nationalpark we get no answer. What happen here....only because our home is in this area we come again. And hope for a change..... But there is no hope it seems....we contacted the nationalpark main office in Bangkok...but no answers we get. So every guest, he feels disturbed should talk to the rangers and people here. And ask where is the boss here to talk... If a lot of guests try this, we have a hope to get the old and silent Phu Hin Ronkla Nationalpark back...

Absolutely unique landscape. We enjoyed it very much. Make sure that you wear good shoes because some parts are slippery.

If you gave a kid a phone to rate this place it would definitely be a 5 star for them. When you first arrive there, you pay a small fees to take a bus tram tour and they will stop at every stop. Each stop was beautiful! There are places where you can do archery (which I did and it was cheap!) and play with the swing!!! There were many beautiful pit stops along the way as well and it is a place worth visiting. Care to set aside about 2 hours at this area :) (maybe 3 or 4 hours if you have kids)

We spent about 2 hours to explore the area. We took on the tuktuk tour and go around the area. My boy also enjoyed riding the ATV (200B for 30 minutes). It was new experience for us to visit wind farm and definitely will visit again at the end of the year.

I thought we could come here to see the windmills but ended up on a dangerously bad road so if you are coming here be careful which route you follow on Google maps (looks like there are different ways to go). The route it suggested took us off road on narrow, rocky and bumpy dirt roads in the middle of nowhere. We finally turned around when a local told us there's nothing out here.

If you have not seen wind turbine before. Tram ticket costs 60 baht per adult. Free for kids. There are other attractions created by the locals to boost tourism and they are your usual flowers, strawberry, and ATVs. Windy drive up.

If you're in the area and want to have a beautiful view this was a great place to see. Not much else to do there, except take pictures of The view. If you stop at the little markets that are there he'll find it there way overly priced. Just another little typical tourist trap.

Very relaxed and friendly staff who were very easygoing and helped make the stay pleasant. The campsite is rudimentary and not visually appealing, but that didn't matter. All the facilities were adequate. The view is breathtaking. In the cold season, make sure to bring warm clothes and bedding, the wind is quite severe and very cold at times. The only fly in the ointment was the noise from far down in the valley of competing out-of-tune and tipsy karaoke stars making a distant racket. The campsite itself was very well disciplined and quiet.

If you enjoy tranquility and a place to chill, this place is for you. There is not much views except for trees and a 180 view of Khao Kho but I believe there are other places in khao kho that offer better landscape eg. Khao Takhian Ngio Viewpoint, Phu Thap Beok ! Correct me if I am wrong but I don’t see any royal palace “:( and the ride up here was really steep. This place is perfect if you would like to take insta worthy pics tho! :)

Beautiful gardens with tall pines. View point was nice and calm. The road up to the palace was curvy and relaxing. Our weekday visit was empty and peaceful.

18th Mar 2019. Its easy to see why you would want to build a palace here. Great views and cooler climate. Apart from that there is not much to see here. Maybe if they actually opened the palace for tours but at this time you can only view it from a distance. Guarded by military.

The Royal Palace located in Khao Kho on a hill and has a very beautiful viewpoint from where you can see the beautiful hills in the area. It's an easy drive uphill and there's enough parking space. At the viewpoint there are nice swings too. Definitely recommend to visit!

A nice and quiet place which one can take a stroll and relax with view. The morning I went was misty though.

Atop the mountain the memorial site is free to visit and displays war machines such mortar guns, tanks, helicopter, and such. You can also enter some bunkers which is quite cool. Otherwise the views around there are great and they set up many viewing platforms to take pictures. Worth the visit, should take about 1-2 hours max.

Beautiful and now peaceful spot with roses and other colorful flowers. A sign in Thai asks visitors to remove shoes before entering the memorial. Parking is on the south side; steps and ramp to the memorial are a bit farther north. Fortifications and a great panorama of Khao Kho are just north of the memorial. The memorial is 1.4 kilometers north of the Weapon Museum. From the memorial the one-way road drops to Khao Kho district town in a very steep 1.6 kilometers. You could walk all this. If driving, one needs to start on the road from the south end.

Top of the hill. Need to drive carefully as there after you have to drive very steep down. Nice and clean place but nothing much there to see except some view (depend upon weather)

Memorial to some of the fallen soldiers and citizens that made the ultimate sacrifice for the future of Thailand. Modern Thailand would not be the same without them. The insurgents ultimately settled across the northlands, the soldiers that remained returned to their homes.

I went to in 20 Jan and one more in next day. It was so beautiful. I have to get the pick up to Phu Lom Lo from Ban Rong Kla. The way up to the mountain is very terrible. So the tourists should get the mark or sit inside the car. The flowers were so beautiful and you can feel to be in Japan.

One thing you must know before going, a cherry blossom will bloom only 7-10 day. Please check a condition before you go. If you go there on a right time, it is absolutely breathtaking. If you are photographer, try to hide a pick-up car privately. So you can hop on hop off everywhere you want.

A hill full of cherry blossoms; however check with local guide for the time of bloom. The trail to the summit required 4x4 truck from local guide, fee for the trip is needed. The scenery is very beautiful. All in all, time your visit before your trip for cherry blossoms.

Way up in the mountains on the way to Phitsanulok from Lomsak, is this incredible temple complex. The attention to detail is stunning, especially the mosaics. It is one of the most incredible sites in all of Thailand. While it is very busy, it does not feel full. There is so much to see and marvel at The scenic views across the valley are breathtaking.

Impressive temple set against the nearby hills of Khao Kho. It is a complex with several temples located in the same area. We went during the rainy season so the clouds on the hillside added to the atmosphere. A lot to see here so you need to have time to visit every where. Access is easy from the highway (Highway no 12). If you are in the area I recommend you visit

Temple nestled in the mountains surrounded by clouds. It is stunning to visit and enjoy the beauty of the temple, buildings and the mountains. There are plenty of shops with nice merchandise and reasonably priced. There are places to eat. Hotels are nearby for convenience. I will be back.

Wow. That's the first impression of this place. Worth the 6 hours drive from ChiangMai. Nestle in the top of a range surrounded with awesome views. The temple has a majestic statues. Start building in 2004 and completed in 2011.

This amazing Temple complex is well worth visiting, easily half a day, Wat Phra That Pha Sorn Kaew is the full Thai name. Very elegant architecture, nice areas to sit and reflect in shaded areas enjoying the cool mountain air.

We called in to visit the temple as we were in the area. A nice place to visit and look around . Some areas of the temple ladies are forbiden, it was nice a quiet in those areas. 😎 There was a good sized market nearby .

A peaceful Buddhist temple located on top of a hillock carrying a lot of importance for Thai people. Place is clean, well maintained and not much crowded. But just for info...ladies are not allowed inside the main portion (which is pretty small and can be easily seen from outside). There are some shops as well outside the premises of temple near the parking. Overall a nice place for a short halt if 20-30 mins.

Had to wake up at 4:30am (about an hour to go up) to travel to this peak! It was a little disappointing that we could not see the sunrise properly because of the fog but still a place worth visiting! Ps: There’s quite a few shops up here that sell fruits and local food:) don’t have to worry about having a good breakfast. It offers one of the best views from above :)

Nice place for scenic mountain vistas. If lucky, can see the ocean clouds in the valleys below the mountain. Visitors coming would do well to stay at least 1 night to enjoy the gorgeous sunset and sunrise. Plenty of eateries and lodging (but no high-end ones) as I can see. But worth the drive up.

Phu Thap Buek is a wonderful place to visit so far. It has a beautiful scenic view to look at and It is also very peaceful. I visited there in Mid-July last year with my family, and there were not a lot of people. The temperature was around 18 to 20 Degree Celsius. It was foggy at night and in the morning. The mountain air was so fresh and it smelled nice too! We stayed there for 1 night without any booking. We stayed in like a hut with a roof deck and a balcony. The Inside had just one single bed with a TV wall and a small bathroom. We paid for 3 huts. Each cost 1000 Baht per night. I think it would be better to check or book on the internet because I am sure you can get cheaper ones. Also, I suggest booking for 1 or 2 nights because there is nothing to do other than to relax as it is a rural area and village. I travelled by motorbike, so the thing you should be aware of is the road, you have to drive slowly and make turns carefully because the road is quite steep and winding. Overall, it was a wholesome experience, I really enjoy this place! Recommend for everyone to come here once in a lifetime with families or friends. For those with bikes, It would be challenging, but It is worth It!

The one and only temple in Thailand that was made from "Si - La - Lang" ( clay laterite). Very beautiful with Buddhism decorations. This temple located on the hill at Dansai province Loei , Thailand, very big and luxury temple. Originally, this temple's old name is, " Wat Hua Na Yoong", and being temple for Buddhist Vipassana people. The founder of this temple is a elder Vipassana monk named is, "Maha Phand" who came from Wat Jampa at Surin province, Thailand and stay here for very long time. People who worshipped him built this temple yo being his permanent home and he stayed here until his passing away. It was a miracle that his passing away body was not being destroy by nature until now so people put his dead body in the coffin behind his wax - figure and placed in the building of this tenple. Firstly This temple was being renovated by him in the year 1986 and after his dead in 1997, the new Chief abbot and Dansai people, including the official people from the goverment were renovated this temple to this present look, with taking time of 14 years at all the budget of 197 million baht. The final renovation finished in 2006 and changed the name from " Wat Hua Na Yoong" to the name " Wat Neramit Vipassana"

A interesting collection of the art and history of Phi Ta Khon located inside the main Wat in the center of town. Entrance is free though donations appreciated. Well worth a visit when you’re in the area.

The museum is small and the explanation is only given in Thai. So you need a translator with you if you're a foreigner that doesn't read Thai. The amount of content in such a small place is however very impressive! Entry is free, a donation is welcomed.

My family and I went to Phetchaburi Province and it was awesome. I saw two places: the Phetchabura Buddhist Park and the Phetchaburi Historical Park. The Phetchabura Buddhist Park has a big Buddha statue made of metal. It is 35 meters high and 45 tons heavy. The park also has a nice lake, a bridge, and a museum about Buddhism in Thailand. The Phetchaburi Historical Park is on a hill and has a palace, a temple, and a tower. The palace is very beautiful and has different styles of architecture. The temple looks like the one in Bangkok with the Emerald Buddha. The tower has a good view of the city and the nature. I also ate some food from Phetchaburi, which is very tasty. I had the khao chae, which is rice with cold water and ice and some other things. I also had the khanom mor gaeng, which is a sweet thing made of eggs, coconut milk, and sugar. I think Phetchaburi Province is a great place to visit if you like history, culture, nature, and food. It has a lot of things to see and learn and enjoy.

Some of the nicest people you will meet seem to be in Phetchabun. The park is clean and quiet and the Cambodian style Buddha image is impressive. Don't miss the short walk to the right where the OTOP stores are you will enjoy the cheapest and nicest smoothies and Thai food that I found in 30+ days in Thailand

18th Mar 2019. Impressive statue with temple underneath. Car park, toilets, well maintained, walk areas, lake with island, some food shops and places to sit and eat. The lake has fish feeding, and the island is a perfect meditation area.

Beautiful nature. The waterfall is a treat. However to get there is a trek. I would say the hike is medium+. What makes it more challenging is that you have to cross the river many times in zig zag in order to ascend. Also passing rocky areas. Even though there's a lot of water involved, wearing proper hiking shoes with a good sole grip is the best. Even if the get wet. As there's a lot of sharp rocks and wearing flip flops would not be protective for your toes and feet. If not having hiking shoes, at best use Crocs shoes with toe coverage and a band in the heal so the foot doesn't slip. There's also 2 waterfalls near each other one is lower both in altitude and the height of the waterfall, and the other one is much higher up to reach it. We went to the higher up. For this one the hike is trickier. For sure this is not a hike to go with small kids (unless you are very experienced) or for persons with some physical challenges as it can be strenuous. It took us about 1.5 hours to go up, at a decent speed. Do also give yourself plenty of time, meaning don't go up if it's already mid afternoon as it would get dark and can easily get lost. The paths are not very clear. And the forest is in its own rather dark with lots of shade. If it's already 2 or 3 pm might be best not to go all the way to the waterfalls.

I had the nicest experience at Tat Mok. I turned up late in the day by bicycle, couldn't manage the hill after a long day of cycling. But the staff here went far beyond to help me camp at the park, personally driving me to the top with my bike and gear. They really genuinely wanted me to experience the beauty of Tat Mok and it didn't disappoint. The most genuine and kind souls I have come accross on my travels. Special thanks to KunSak and KunJack. This is a must visit site for campers in Petchabun. Such great views, I'd give a 6 out of 5 if I could!

A beautiful hidden gem of a beautiful waterfall and really fun walking trails. The Song Nang waterfall trail is 2km in and 2km out. However it will take longer to go up through a steep trail to reach Tat Mok waterfall. It was 8.8km in total from the start of the trail at the carpark up to Tat Mok waterfall then down to Song Nang waterfall then back to the carpark. About 3 hours including lunch break for us. I definitely recommend visiting this waterfall if you enjoy hiking.

Despite having access to only half the route, we were properly impressed with the views here. There’s also a campground called ลานชมดาว where one can pitch tents or rent tents and bedding from the National Park Service folks there. Unsure whether overnight privileges are limited to Thais, best to check ahead.

My first experience staying in the middle of the forest. Didn’t know that Thailand can be so cold! We enjoyed weather as cool as 11 degrees Celsius at night (end November) so do remember to pack some warm clothes. If you are lucky you might also spot some wild elephants. Not too far off (5km) is a beautiful hill to view the sunrise .

This national Park has the dual pricing for the Foreigners. 200 thb for an Adult and 100 thb for a child. There is not much to do other than nature trails. Note that there are leeches and better prepare for it. Also note that the waterfall is outside the national park. This place is mainly for staying overnight. The houses are very nice and offered to a great value.

Quite a good place, was very quiet when we visited. We followed the nature trail - about 1 km I think, saw a few butterflies, some Nephila spiders, no elephants or mammals. It started to rain so we headed back to our car, and as we had just finished the trail loop. Also there were a lot of leeches, which is pointed out on a sign at the entry point. This was a bit of an issue for my girlfriend, and they are good at crawling up your trousers and latching on to your walking shoes. Understandable I guess for a forest, and at the altitude it is at, though the only reason for me for giving 3 stars and not 4 is the discrimination by the Thai National Parks - 40Baht for Thai nationals and 200Baht for "foreigners". I think if they lowered the rate and charged maybe 50Baht for everyone - they would see an increase in visitors. Total cost for entry will be 30 Baht extra if you enter in a car. I suggest if you can and only wish to visit the park once on a day trip - try to stop on the road if you can - safely, and enter the forest without going through the pay for-entry-barrier. This is the second park we have visited, and had to pay again - fortunately we stopped longer and had a good meal and walk in the other park, which also was a lot higher up - so no leeches, and also cooler and better air. Didn't experience unreasonable extra over-charging in Mexico or other countries I don't think. It's not a smart idea - just a money-making racket. Otherwise, I think if you have the time and avoid the leeches, and can do a few other or one of the longer trails, then you may see some other animals or flora. I don't mind the leeches - they take the same amount of blood whether you are English or Thai 😆.

Just back from a 2 night stay camping in the park, as other reviews say you can rent everything you need there - prices start from 225B for one night tent rental. Dropped a star as many of the trails aren’t open which is a shame, it would be good to have information provided at the beginning of the hike so you know what to expect at the top. The hike up was very busy (perhaps due to being on a Saturday) to the point we had to wait a lot for others to move ahead. Hike down on Monday morning much more enjoyable! Overall definitely would recommend!

Climb took 5 hours, at the top you would still have to walk 3km to reach the camping site 🏕️, there you can rent everything you need to sleep. You will Have showers 🚿 (cold 🥶😅), restaurants and others local shop. The natural park at the top is big and many site to visit. It is cold at night up there 13-15°. The decent took us 2h30 with good wearher. You must leave before 13h from the top camping site, otherwise you will beed to sleep one more night.

Phu Kradueng is a rite of passage among Thai hikers. If you want to learn hiking this is the park for it. Direct route from Mo chit 2 station with a connecting Songthaw at Jae Gim (it is an institute among hikers). This is one of the most unique hiking route in the world. It is catered to the teeth. There is a famous saying for Phu Kradueng "You only need to bring money to conquer this hike". It is definitely true. Whatever you need or want is available here. Need supply, vendors here have it. Did not bring enough clothes. For sale here. Heck if you cant be bother to walk up, you can pay to have people carry you up. It is not a difficult hike if you can walk 10km on the flat and have some fitness level. Most people complete the route in 3-6 hrs depending on how long your stops. It is so unique that you have to come. It is not a hardcore hike but it sure will leave an impression.

Hiking trail is not too difficult, you can easily hike up until you reach the top and it took around 3-4 hour. Should check info before coming if you want to see maple leaves or waterfall. I came here at the end of Mar few years ago and the trail to waterfall was locked temporrately because of safety reason. Visit this place on weekday, it would not be crowded, can see sunrise and sunset. Great for trekking and camping, and also for spiritual practice.

Spectacular! I love every minute spent hiking up and down the mountain. There are trekking routes on the mountain top going though pine woods and savanna with many beautiful waterfalls and cliffs to see sunset and sunrise. This place is breathtaking in both rainy and winter seasons. During the first few months of the open period (OCT-NOV), robust waterfalls and the untouched forest are the highlights. In winter (DEC-FEB), we can expect to find the red maple leaves and the temperature going as low as single digit (degree celsius). The crystal clear sky contributes to the perfect view of the sun rising from the sea of fog and sunset.

A must for every nature lover with a splendid condition. We chose for the mountain hiking and a 3 nights in a tent at the camping uphill. Porters carried our luggage for 30 Baht per kilo. The mountain "walk" was spectacular and exhausting too but worth every dripping of our sweat. Very, very well organised

Amazing place, loved it. If you're here to trek to the top of the mountain, I personally would come prepared. It took us 4.5hrs to get to the top at a steady pace, but I think it could easily take 6 hours. The porters are amazing and will carry your bags for 30 Baht per kg. Once at the top there I many beautiful places to visit, and the good news is its all flat 😂😂. It's much harder coming down, so I personally would wear good shoes with good grip. We saw many people slipping in flip flops.

We were here in non-peak season so whilst there was a tour bus of visitors it was not crowded otherwise. The bats will come out around sunset we did go a bit early to make sure we could park and then waited. There are food stalls and drinks for sale. The light wasn't on our side so whilst we could see them they flew quite low so blended into the trees but there were heaps and is still quite something to behold. Apparently there is a bit of a smell but I didn't mind it.

Bat Cave (Phu Pha Man District), Khon Kaen Bat Cave in Phu Pha Man is an amazing natural wonder. Every evening, millions of bats fly out of the cave in a long, twisting stream across the sky — an incredible sight you will never forget. The show usually happens around sunset and lasts for almost an hour. The area around the cave is peaceful, surrounded by mountains and nature, perfect for photography and relaxation. Local people are welcoming, and there are small stalls nearby for snacks and drinks. If you enjoy nature and unique experiences, this place is a must-see when visiting Khon Kaen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truly spectacular!

Went to the Bat cave. No entry but the bat's fly out at dusk 17:45 approx & return in morning. Honestly. The bat's were streaming out for 10 minutes +. Short term excursion if in area.

We thought we would go to see what the Bat Cave was like close up so walked right into it. It’s a steep tricky climb, not for the feint hearted, but well worth the effort. We made sure we were back down in the car park 20 minutes before dusk so we could see the mass exodus from the cave. It was an incredible sight. Well worth the journey to see. Top tip we followed was to park in the Car park and watch the first 10 minutes from there. Then walk 100 meters to the car park entrance road to be able to see the cloud of Bats flying out across the fields. There are a couple of shops selling drinks and snacks plus a toilet block. Also quite a few good “Selfie” locations to be found.

Entry was 100 per foreigner, 20 per Thai, and 30 for the car. Not much to do here, except for camping and visiting the cave. For camping, you can bring a tent, but there's not much shade. You can also rent a large house or a small cabin. Hiking trails were closed for maintenance, but it looks like the view from the mountain top would be nice. If you want to visit the cave, the cost is 100 per person for round trip transportation from the camping area, total time is about 3 hours. Self-tour is not permitted. We did not visit the cave on this visit, but I will update this review after we do see the cave.

Beautiful place to enjoy and relax. Stay in one of the houses or hire a tent, both reasonable price. Nice little eating area uf you food. Some beautiful walks through the woods with nice stream for kids to have fun.

This is a popular spot, not far from my home, about 120km. Go there for bicycle ride and hiking. Stay in tent but recommend tiny houses for +/- 300THB. For families bigger two bedrooms are available. Beautiful sunset and nice scenery with caves and a big bat cave nearby.

A beautiful national park campground by day that can be eerie after dark. The small bungalows we stayed in were clean but spooky. The park allows cooking on rental charcoal stoves at the larger lodges, which was nice for the group of students with whom we went. The greatest thing about this campground is that there were no biting insects at all - not a single mosquito or ant when we visited! The trade-off is that in the valley where the campground is located, there was no breeze and the air was wet, regardless of the time of day or night and the temperature. This is an acceptable trade off. Regarding dual pricing, the posted sign does have different prices for Thais and foreigners, but it's pretty easy to talk your way out of this, as with most national parks in this country.

Have to give it one star because of the racist discrimination when buying tickets. If you arrive at the park via the back roads theres a good chance the checkpoint there won't be manned so you can avoid all that nonsense. The checkpoint at the main road (201) is always manned. If the second checkpoint is manned, you can take the road before (or after depending which way you come) for a few 100 metres which goes alongside the park and walk through one of the gaps in the hedge emerging near the toilets. At the headquarters area there is a nature trail but not much else. The waterfall is across the road but everything else (mainly caves) is kilometers away and needs driving to. For me the highlight is the mountains jutting up into the sky near pha nok khao town. I managed to scramble up a couple of these, took all morning and was a real challenge. Most people would struggle, need to be fit and have an adventurous spirit. I did the main phaya nakarat cave as well which was very impressive but theyve blocked the entrance road so you have to park your bike or car and walk the last 500 metres.

Phu pha Man National Park in Khon Kaen district. Khon Kaen is a city without big tourists attractions and no remarkable beauty. It is not recommended destination for a first trip to Thailand.

Mo Hin Khao, often called the “Stonehenge of Thailand,” is a fascinating and unique natural attraction. The massive rock formations scattered across the landscape are both mysterious and beautiful, especially during sunrise or sunset when the light casts dramatic shadows over the stones. It’s a dream location for photography lovers and those who enjoy unusual geological sites. What’s even better — access and parking are completely free, which is rare for such an impressive attraction. There are a few walking trails around the site, and some spots offer great panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the facilities are quite basic — there are limited signs, minimal shade, and not much in terms of food or drink options nearby. A bit more infrastructure could make the experience even better. Still, Mo Hin Khao is absolutely worth a visit. Peaceful, unique, and completely free — a perfect stop for a day of nature and exploration.

Moh Hin Khao is one of the main attractions in Chaiyaphum province. Moh Hin Khao itself refers to the biggest and the most impressive stone group - of three stone groups, formed by nature, which are at the area - or the whole area. Moh Hin Khao is part of Phu Lan Kha national park network. For the sake of simplicity I will call Moh Hin Khao the whole area, whose main places to visit are those three stone groups, two viev points, two camping areas and a nature trail. Moh Hin Khao has been compared to Stonehenge in UK. I cannot say anything about this because I haven't visited Stonehenge, but after seen Moh Hin Khao stone group I don't need any such analogs, either, because Moh Hin Khao as itself is a spectacular presentation of the might of the nature. Even though it isn't a high season, Moh Hin Khao seems to be a popular place. It was Saturday morning when we visited there, and people where coming and going, and there were numerous tents at the camping area. At the high season - whenever it is.. - there are street restaurants and shops at the area; now they were almost all closed. The entrance to the stone groups is free but if you wanna go to the camping areas & view points, you have pay a symbolic entrance fee - on July 2024 it was 20 baht for a Thai person, 100 baht for a farang and other tourists, 20 baht for the motorbike (the fee for the car or camping I don't know but it cannot be much, either). Moh Hin Khao is an interesting place, and the whole area - not only the first stone group - is absolutely worth of visit.

The "Stonehenge of Thailand". Yet it appears to be completely off the tourist radar. There was nobody else there while we visited – on a public holiday, nonetheless! The site has a cluster of 4 freestanding limestone rocks that are quite tall and probably were created through erosion. The rocks are in a straight line, not circular like at the real Stonehenge 😊. Although it's a bit far from any town, it's definitely worth a visit, also for the nice views over the flat farmlands below. Free entrance

I walked around the area it was so beautiful and it’s not so far from the camping site about 1-2 km away from there. There are so many shapes of rock. It is so amazing to see such “andscape. I recommend to go there in the morning or late afternoon when the weather is not so hot. There are also some pavilions that you can take a rest and have a picnic there.

We drove from Vientiane to see this place. We even braved a flood getting there. But as nice as the place is, and as cheap as it is, I would’ve happily paid more for a bigger experience. We were done in 30 -35 minutes. If you’re in the area sure. But not a place to go out of your way for.

Such a beautiful walk up to the temple! The steps are not steep but it's longer than it seems. It's a lovely walk up as the Buddha statue gets bigger and bigger in front of you. From the top, you get a good view of the never-ending stretches of land in front of the temple. Behind the temple, you can get a bird's eye view of the beautiful lake. There are benches and pavilions to sit around to enjoy the view.

One of the best temples so far visited in this country. The stairs to the temple are a long walk - however there is a road to the right that leads straight to the summit with plenty of parking for car or motorcycle. Amazing views over the plateau of Khon Kaen. Certainly worth a visit just to get close to Buddha.

An interesting mix of Chinese and Thai Temples. It also has a lot of seats in a small garden, if you would like to take a rest. Not really worth a special visit, but nice to stop by, take a rest in the garden, or walk through it, if you happen to be in the area. It seems to be quite an active temple with a steady stream of people coming to make donations and worship here.

This place is 5 minutes walk from central plaza depending on your walking speed. This place is clean and well maintained. The shrine white colour roof is peculiar when watched from Kosa hotel room and it stands out among the rest. A combination of Thai and Chinese temple on the same ground. And there's a beautiful garden beside the shrine where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the town. This garden is adorned by colourful flowers and plant. On the other side of the shrine, there's a small building where you can do prayers and offering to the Buddha. Just donation a 20B and you'll be supplied with the necessities.

A major attraction in Khon Kaen, the city Shrine has delightful gardens, statues and the city pillar itself within the temple. There are worshipers here day and night, but if you are simply a tourist, it is a peaceful place offering great photo opportunities - particularly at night. The buildings, statues and trees are brightly illuminated at night. It is located just a short walk from the central 'farang' area and Pullman hotel. Highly recommended, especially after sunset.

In Every provinces in Thailand have its own city pillar shrines this meant to be of sacred place. Khon Kean also the shrine located in downtown of Khon Kean. As roundabout it has parking lot inside which have small park 🏞️ area for people to resting. At night the light is very beauty.

The Khonkaen ancient pillar where located beside of Mitraphap road and closely between Central Shopping mall and Khonkaen railway station. You can park around the pillar 's island. There are the building covered the pillar, very beautiful. The traditional style of wishing is make a wish for your health, love, luckiness.

Small little shrine to the city center. Not much to see here. Nice little park near the mall.
