Such a breathtaking place - I’ve never felt as calm and at peace as I did when I was there. Although the weather wasn’t the brightest that day, it didn’t take away from the experience. It was truly a marvellous time. 1000/10 ⭐️🤩

We rented a private boat with my husband for a 3 hour tour around Khao Sok National Park, including 1 hour stop at the floating resort for kayaking and swimming. We paid only 3,180 THB. The trip was very enjoyable, definitely worth the money.

True natural beauty unfolds across the vast Cheow Lan Lake and dramatic limestone landscapes above Rajjaprabha Dam. With deep emerald waters, floating raft accommodation, and unmatched sunrise views, it’s easy to see why it’s called “Guilin of Thailand.” Visitors can enjoy boat tours, kayaking, guided cave treks, or just relax aboard a floating lodge in serene surroundings. Accommodation ranges from basic floats to nicer raft houses—cheap, charming, and close to nature. Open daily 08:00–18:00. Located in Ban Ta Khun District, Surat Thani Province, the site is easily reachable via Highway 401 or chartered boats from nearby piers. A top highlight of Khao Sok National Park and a must-see for travelers craving breathtaking scenery and peaceful escapes.

Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Khao Sok National Park, located in Surat Thani province, is a vast expanse of ancient rainforest and limestone cliffs. Visitors can spend their time hiking, exploring caves, and searching for wildlife. The park's Cheow Larn Lake offers surreal experiences with its mist-shrouded limestone formations and dense jungle surroundings. The area is home to diverse flora and fauna including monkeys, colorful birds, tigers, and unique plant species.
There are a handful of must-see places in Thailand, this is one, without a doubt. Doesn't matter if it's a day trip or overnight on the floating bungalows, do not miss this. A damn built in the 80s that basically flooded a whole region, so an artificial, giant lake in a biome that would normally not have one. Witness man playing God. Caves, jungle walks/hikes, wildlife, lush tropical forest and a cool story of how it all came to be. Words are hard to describe the enormity of this park and the awe you feel navigating it.
Mack B — Google review
I would definitely recommend a day trip to this park, with its huge lake, when you are visiting the Khao Lok area. We had a guided day tour (which I would recommend to see everything) and it was a memorable and enjoyable trip. We stopped at the Three Sisters limestone formations for some photos, and cruised around the lake. We stopped at one of the numerous and unique floating hotels here for lunch, and did some swimming and kayaking. Definitely add it to your list of “must dos” when you are visiting Khao Lok.
Mark P — Google review
One of the highlights of our stay in the area, definitely worth booking a trip to see Khao Sok and Cheow Lan Lake. Fantastic scenery! It’s easy to book a private longtail boat on GetYourGuide. We had a hire car and drove to the park from Khao Lak.

Definitely a must-visit when in Thailand! 🇹🇭✅ My husband and I rented a private boat for 3 hours, including a swimming stop for an hour, and we truly enjoyed the trip. The beauty of Mother Nature gave us goosebumps — absolutely breathtaking! 😍✨

Khao Sok National Park is an absolutely stunning place — one of the most beautiful natural spots in Thailand. The scenery is breathtaking, with dramatic limestone cliffs, lush jungle, and a peaceful lake. There are plenty of activities like canoeing, hiking, and boat tours that let you truly enjoy the nature. Everything feels calm and magical. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and adventure!
Eliron S — Google review
I would definitely recommend doing a 2 day 1 night tour as you get to see loads of the national parks sights and you get to wake up on the lake which in my case was spectacular. However be prepared for very basic overnight conditions but it made no difference to us.
Ollie B — Google review
A beautiful park, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're in Khao Sok!! Although everyone speaks about the lake tours as if this is the only activity in Khao Sok, we found this amazing park full of beautiful scenery of many types - a wild jungle, divine waterfalls & stunning rivers. Entrance fee is 200 baht per person, and you can either enter on your own and walk until a limited point (about 6km back & forth) or you can take a guide and walk further. If you do decide to take a guide, make sure to book them in advance. We decided to walk on our own, so we have more privacy, and it took us about 3 hours long, including some stops on the way, and dipping in the amazing Wing Hin waterfall. To conclude, if you're looking for a more unique and custom made experience in Khao Sok, this is definitely a most visit.
Maya I — Google review
While I loved the park and everything about it, I'd like to bring to attention this boatman guy/ guide, and request all to avoid him to have a stress free trip. This guy speaks no English, and if he does, refuses to talk- as a guide, that is one of the major things one should do. He smoked weed/ some narcotic, made us pay for kayaking (which we had already paid for to our tour operator) - since it was only a 100Baht per person, the three of us who had booked the boat privately paid again because this guy refused to communicate. At the caves, he walked on at his own pace, shining the light randomly, and made to exit within 5 minutes. Thankfully we latched onto another group who had an English speaking guide to make sense of the wonders of the cave. We managed to click a whipping scorpion and a cricket with that group- a stark difference. After leaving the cave, he stopped in the middle of the water to light another joint, at which point we thought it a good idea to fly our professional camera drone for some photography. As soon as our drone gained some height, the boatman moved the boat forward, when we shouted at him with sign language to stop the boat. While landing the drone, since the boat had moved, the drone fell into the water, just short distance from where the boatman sat. Had he not been stoned enough, he could have moved his hand and caught the drone. The drone fell into the water, the boatman looked at the drone, looked at us, and shrugged his shoulders as if to say, your problem. The complain I wish to raise, is that this guy was so stoned, that if a human would have fallen off, he would simply have let the person drown, despite wearing a life jacket and knowing how to swim. Since we had to leave to catch our connecting flight from Phuket to Chiang Mai, we didn't have time to officially complain. In case anyone reads this, please ensure to avoid this guide. For your own well being.

Tean Island

Mentioned on
1 list
Island
Nature & Parks
Tean Island is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just a short 15-minute longtail boat ride from Thong Krut pier in Taling Ngam village, this delightful island offers pristine sandy beaches perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The crystal-clear waters are home to vibrant coral reefs, making it an ideal spot for underwater photography—don't forget to bring some bread to feed the colorful fish!
Here you can swim with the pigs, we had a nice time here the beach is shallow. The pigs and dogs are friendly but we are okay with animals. The food is good and the drinks are cold and plentyful. The toilet facilities are very basic so be prepared. The view at the top of the island is rubbish. Seen better views out of my home window.

Such a peaceful and beautiful island Not crowded at all, with a cute little restaurant and kayaks to enjoy the calm sea.🏝✨️

A wonderful and lovely little island that is well worth a visit. Its a lovely little lagoon on the far sight of the island that is a must to visit and enjoy a relaxing and wonderful swim in, we will definitely come back and enjoy this island again!

Great and wonderfull snorkeling area.. Not so crowded by big tourist boats. From the boat it's easy to swim near to the coral reef.. Bring bread so you can feed the fishes and take great underwater pictures
Sigurd B — Google review
We came here for snorkeling just off the beach, which was awesome. Saw rays, and dozens of fish species. The restaurant here was very well priced with delicious Thai food and drinks. Very impressed and would definitely return to eat here if doing the tour of Pig Island and Koh Tam snorkelling again.

Beautiful island 15 minutes from thongkrut pier in long tail boat. Have one restaurant and a hotel. Coconut palm trees and many picture locations. Great for snorkeling.

Na Muang 2 Waterfall

Waterfalls
Na Muang 2 Waterfall is situated in the southern part of Koh Samui's ring road and can be easily accessed by following a sign directing to the waterfall and Na Muang Safari Park. Visitors have the option to either take an off-road jeep from the safari park or follow the road up to reach the waterfall. It is part of a park that also houses Na Muang 1, known as the 'Purple Waterfalls.'
Beautiful walk through the mountain. It's quite challenging, with some sections precarious. There are lot of ropes around to help both the way up and especially down! If you keep going, and guess your way up the mountain a bit, you'll be treat to spectacular views and a very cold mountain waterfall, perfect place for a swim and to sit and just watch. Has a lovely bar at the bottom with a friendly dog.
Mark C — Google review
The hike up the waterfall takes about 40 minutes, but the view is definitely worth the effort. Some tourist tips: 🔅Better to arrive early in the morning to enjoy the view peacefully and take photos. We got there by 9 a.m. —there were only a couple of people at the top and a dog😁 By 10.30 a.m. it was already crowded, and the vibe wasn’t the same anymore 🔅Bring water with you (you can buy it at the start of the trail) and insect repellent (!!) —we got literally hundreds of mosquito bites along the way 🔅 Wear sneakers and casual clothing, as at some point the trail ends and you need to climb over rocks We came by scooter, free parking
Katerina V — Google review
Walk through the jungle is nice - if you time it right! Lots of jungle tours operate, so you might be caught in a big crowd. The waterfall itself is just a trickle of water, but must change from season to season (!?)… I saw people in flip flops that could’nt continue! I’d advise to Wear trainers as it’s steep and slippery! Enjoy!! If you can get the trail to yourself, it’s beautiful!
Tessa S — Google review
We enjoyed a few minutes by this waterfall. Not many other people were there and we weren’t charged for entrance or parking. I didn’t see any mosquitoes but we had a ton of bites appear the next day, come prepared just in case. Steep roads to get there but totally doable for experienced scooter drivers. Definitely not deep enough to swim. About a 5 minute walk from nearest parking.
Yaro S — Google review
About a 45-minute trek from the parking lot for cars. Very steep so definitely bring sneakers or other appropriate footwear. Do not do this hike if you are not in decent shape. Fairly treacherous at points. A cool waterfall to bathe in as your reward! Don’t forget bug spray.
Melanie F — Google review
I hope everyone see my comments don't pin to Waterfall, Google will take you the wrong Pin to elephant Kingdom Safari. When you reach elephant Kingdom turn right and ride a motorbike across the mountain for about 700 meters and you will arrive. And I recommend wearing sneakers and long pants with mosquito repellent spray if you don't want to have a fatal slip accident die and get bitten by mosquitoes. I want you all to be very careful about wearing shoes and walking. Thank you.
Lele L — Google review
Just awesome. Drive up with your moto to the second parking. That a right at the information centre. Walk up to the bar and cross the water there. Keep the waterfall on your right during your climb. You will reach the viewpoint where you can shower and bath in a he waterfall.
Arnaud K — Google review
⚠️ Warning: Life-threatening danger ⚠️ People have died here — and in my opinion, this happens because the trail is very poorly marked, so it’s not clear where the official path ends. The official and safe route ends at the restaurant and the natural “pool” area. Everything above that point is a wild, unofficial trail. If what I’m saying doesn’t stop you and you absolutely have to climb up there, then do it only in proper, closed shoes and make sure to go only on the left side of the waterfall from the restaurant. The signs are misleading, and many people take the right side, which is a life-threatening danger at every step. The path is very dangerous, and you are deep in the jungle, completely on your own. At the beginning of that “trail” there are some ropes, so it looks like a normal path — and since other people are climbing there, it feels safe. But NO — it’s not! Those ropes are old, and this area is not maintained or meant for tourists. There are no clear signs warning that you’re leaving the safe zone — if we had known that, we would never have gone up there. There are also no signs telling you to turn back once you start climbing. We didn’t cross to the left side of the waterfall because we didn’t know — we climbed up the right side, following cables (thinking that’s the correct route), but it leads nowhere. From that “viewpoint” on the left side of waterfall no one can pick you up — you have to climb back down on your own. Cars only reach the pool area. The part of the waterfall near the restaurant and pool is beautiful and safe, but do not go further up. A sudden rain can make the rocks extremely slippery, and it’s very easy to lose your way — you can end up standing on wet rocks with the waterfall running in front of you and no safe way to continue. About picture: We got this far before realizing it was too dangerous to continue. There were no signs to warn us. Please don’t go past restaurant higher— the rocks are slippery and the current is strong. Stay safe and enjoy the lower OFFICIAL part of the waterfall instead.

Lomprayah Nathon Pier is a popular ferry service operating from Donsak pier on the mainland to Maenam pier. It competes with other ferry companies like Seatran Ferry and Songserm Ferry. The pier is located in the western part of Maenam, behind Laem Na Lan cape, offering easy access for travelers.
I lost my passport, but the team at Lomprayah Nathon Pier helped me with amazing support. They organized everything perfectly and were always kind, patient, and professional. Truly outstanding service I am very grateful and highly recommend them! 🙏♥️

We traveled from Koh Samui to Phuket via Lomprayah. We started at 11:45 in the morning via their speed boat, then bus and then cab, finally reaching our hotel @8 at night. 😥 Luggage was placed at the entry and then exit was through another gate in another end, wherein you have to flow through pool of people twice once to collect and then move to exit gate. Bus ride is never ending and the food stop is horrible and over priced. Minimum 8-9 hrs to reach from Koh samui to phuket.
Swarnali R — Google review
Great experience. Cozy ride. Only service that has been on time and efficient. Was a bit hot sitting inside, but other than that, very happy with our experience.
Sam T — Google review
Super rude staff and abrupt staff. We also had a connecting coach from the mainland across to Phi Phi by Lomprayah. I will not be surprised if we caught a disease from the coach ride - there was damp and mold around the bus and the room was leaking the the lights and across the panels. The seats were wet and stinky. When we arrive to their office in Krabi the staff were equally rude

Thanks to the amazing host Ms. Support. D She is being very helpful for us. Room hygiene and cleanliness is at par. Our kid enjoyed alot. Will definitely book our stay for the next trip.

Taher M — Google review
Our boat ride was delayed 1hr, and the bus ride following the ferry was incredibly small and uncomfortable with less leg room than an airline economy seat! Then finally upon arrival they then suddenly hassle you to use their shuttle service to get to your final destination. And given that their delays are Impossible to prepare for, setting up a ride in advance is nearly impossible. Would recommend any other company!

Best catamaran service in koh samui. The service offered and the price offered were very good. We need a transfer from bophut to khao sok, the entire journey was arranged for us by lomprayah for 800 baht which included transfer from bophut to lomprayah ferry- bus transfer from donsak pier to surat thani bus station - khao sok. The journey of taken by a pvt taxi would have costed 5000 baht was completed within 1600 baht for two people.

Maenam Beach on Ko Samui is a laid-back, several kilometers long stretch of coastline lined with palm trees, rental bungalows, and restaurants. It faces north into the Gulf of Thailand from the island's north-central coast and offers deeper waters for adult swimmers compared to other beaches on the island. This beach provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families with children looking to swim and sunbathe in shallow waters.
Perfect beach, stayed here during a crazy storm but it was still really beautiful to take walks along and watch the sunset on 🌴✨️☀️🙌 Really a lot more quiet then other beaches too which is so nice!

I loved this beach area from day one because of its beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere. The only downside is the noise from water scooters when they’re running close to the shore—it can get a bit loud at times. Even so, it’s still a quiet and relaxing place to unwind. Plus, you can see the nearby islands from the beach, which makes the view even more special!

Ang Thong is stunning! The water is clear and calm, perfect for swimming and relaxing. Hiking up to the viewpoint was really tough and exhausting, but once you reach the top, the view is absolutely breathtaking. Totally worth the effort!

We have been here with a guided tour in 3 small islands and 1 snorkeling spot and has been an amazing experience! The National Marine Park is pristine and you can visit from beautiful beaches to a breathtaking view points. We have managed to enjoy some relaxing time and to prove our self on really tough trails to reach the viewing points, but has been worth it! We have been so lucky to find monkeys with babies during one of thr trail and to see some huge and colored fishes in the snorkeling point. The emerald lagoon is amazing aswell! If you are here around you cannot miss this.

Absolutely stunning marine park with turquoise water, limestone islands, and breathtaking viewpoints. The scenery is incredible, both from the boat and from the hilltop trails. Snorkeling and kayaking are great ways to explore the area. Well organized tours and respectful handling of nature. A must-visit when staying around Koh Samui or Koh Phangan.

The view was absolutely breathtaking, a solid 10/10. But happy cardio to climb in 500 M. 🤪 I’m so grateful to have had the chance to experience such beauty in my lifetime. It really highlights how important it is to have a climbing partner who can encourage you along the way. 💗

Wide variety of activities to do from hiking to scenic viewpoints, swimming, snorkeling, hanging out at the beach, and watching wild life. Had a good experience traveling to this island from Koh samui via Grand Sea discovery.
David T — Google review
Wonderful trip, we got everything we needed, they took great care of us, Mr. Thai was very funny and kind, and his jokes made the whole day even better. The hike to the viewpoint took 20–40 minutes depending on experience and fitness level. A must-do is kayaking (if you don’t go kayaking, you’ll end up waiting on a crowded beach). We booked it through GetYourGuide.
Barbora Č — Google review
My honest review would be that I was not expecting this tour to be as exhausting as it was. I appreciate the operator and the tour guides, and the views are nice. However, the travel time from the pier to the first island is quite long, which already drains my energy. Then, the nature trail to the viewpoint is another exhausting one. The tour guides can mention in advance that if they are interested, they can hike. I cannot recommend this tour to those who are weak in endurance. Plus, I think the trail is not just 500 meters long. So, I decided to go down after the next stop. There is less time at the beach to explore and swim. The lunch provided is so-so. The kayaking was also too much with the distance. It was quite exhausting, and we were not informed that it would be very far, plus the waves were strong. If you can find another island tour aside from this, I recommend choosing that instead.

My favorite beach in Thailand. I love how I don’t need to leave the beach area for weeks. Beach is clean, great for morning walks, quite, massages, rock climbing at low tide, yoga with yoga Matt at Shiralea resort, swimming, rent paddle board at secret place hotel, gym at Shiralea resort open to public, hang out with locals, many places to eat, 7-eleven, buy fruit at the mini supermarket at the end of the beach, great swimming pools in the resorts and great live dj music, cocktail and beach market at seaboard bungalows. My absolute favourite place on earth. My second visit and I hope to come back soon. Everything you could want. Stunning beach and sea, several restaurants, massage places and still peaceful.

Update: June 19th 2025. I would not stay anywhere in Haad Yao now. It’s all one big construction site. Every road has bungalows being built, the beach construction is extensive and very noisy…. Everyone one is repairing, building or upgrading everything . It all starts at 8 am goes until 6 pm and it’s 7 days a week. This is a lovely beach however I would not stay near it and definitely not on it. Apart from the loud competition music from the resorts on the beach there is a massive construction project which has at least a year or more to run and takes up 1/3 of the beach area. The noise starts at 8am and finishes around 4 or 5 . It’s awful. They have also run 200 meters of corrugated fencing along the beach front. Dreadful. Update April 9th. The noise has increased dramatically as the construction continues. AVOID. 18th August. I live on the side of the Hill half a mile away and it’s like they are hammering metal from morning to evening with 30 guys . The noise is off the charts . Still a long long way to go . Keep away September 2nd The construction continues over a year to go approximately. The construction company has let the awful fence collapse and now there is trash all over the place. So sad.

Our family loved this beach from the 4 months we stayed there. Usually crystal clear waters but depending on weather sometimes snorkeling can be muddy. Regardless such a quiet beach. Absolutely beautiful and clean. More people near the end of the beach where there are more resort and restaurants. Superb!

A very cosy beautiful beach. Very family friendly, although on Wednesdays there is a small fair from expat locals and an after sunset party at the same time. Where we enjoy the whole family meeting the sunset, playing with the kids and dancing to the music.

Gorgeous soft white sand beach with warm clear blue waters on a calm day, deep enough for a proper swim. It’s a long stretch of beach, left facing the sea is busier than the right . There are a lot of people (February) but feels spaced out enough. On a windy day, the sea is still swimmable but lots of current/waves, and the sea isn’t clear.

Salad Beach, also known as Haad Salad, is a serene and picturesque coastal spot located in the northwest of Koh Phangan. It is renowned for its white sandy bay, clear ocean waters that are perfect for snorkeling, and stunning sunsets. The beach offers a relaxed atmosphere and is popular among families, with plenty of cozy bars, resorts, and eateries serving authentic Thai cuisine. Visitors can explore the area on foot or rent scooters from Thong Sala.
Great beach!! Clean and nice water with plenty of coral and sea life close to shore. Beware of sea urchins too though. Also water is quite warm where shallow. Not much shade at this beach but it is nice and wide and a few bars/shops/cafes available.
Jas L — Google review
Did not rate this beach at all. It was lovely and quiet but the tide was super low with sea moss, coral and seaweed which was not inviting to swim at all. I was staying on this beach for 6 days and did not swim in the sea at all. Lucky my resort had a lovely pool. Stayed in May so perhaps I was unlucky
P P — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful beach. The water is super clear, but not great for swimming — there are corals near the shore and it stays shallow even if you walk out far. It was the same the whole time we stayed
Nelson H — Google review
I can’t understand why people give 5 stars review here. It’s super dirty, trash everywhere on the beach and micro floating plastics in the sea everywhere. Maybe far away from the beach has better cleaner water ?! ….there are many clean, beautiful islands and beaches in the world, it’s not worthy to spend money on this island !!!

nice beach. long and has swings. pretty clean as well. water was clear and sand was light. loved the beautiful sunset i caught, and they have at least 3 restaueants in the beach to choose from. 😊😊 one of the nicest beaches in koh phangan. considering how much i generally hate beaches this is really quite nice.
Mengg — Google review
Lovely beach but a little less pristine than other ones 10 minutes away. Great to chill, a little rocky so bring water shoes to this one if you plan to go out into the water. Still absolutely swimable and fun with almost no rip tide so safe for kids.
Mack B — Google review
Beautiful beach and pool but the rooms had no kettle, we had to ask, no tea or coffee or cups in the rooms, no plugs for your handbasin in the bathroom, when we asked for a cup we got told to get one from the restaurant and pay 100 baht deposit, we have traveled extensively around Thailand over the years and never had any place where there is nothing in the rooms, as well as been been charged a deposit of 500 Baht for a room key, there was no welcome when you arrive like an introduction to what there is if anything, when we first asked for a taxi we got told 600 baht per person there and back, you are so remote and far from proper shops and anything else, imagine if you wanted to do things on a daily basis, why they do not have a shuttle at various hours I do not know, if you do come remember to bring your own snacks, coffee, tea etc, definitely will not be back, this place could be paradise if whoever owns it would pay more attention to detail

Beautiful place I came for 4 days and then extended to 7 as I luckily found a cancelled reservation. Never needed AC , the two fans in the room are enough. Amazing view, clean, quiet and right on the beach. You need some sort of transport because to eat by night it’s a 5 min journey by bike. However you can order food here until 6pm and eat takeaway. Pham the lady who manages the resort is very friendly too. If I’ll come back to KohTao I’d love to stay here again.

I went to the beach to snorkel. The fish are amazing here. I swam with all sorts including reef sharks. Only downside is the sand/grit on the beach is full of rubbish and cigarette butts. For the love of God get one of those machines that siphons the rubbish out. Walking down the beach was horrible.
Colin J — Google review
We were only at the restaurant, being one of then only two choices in that beach. We got terrible sixk after drinking two fruit shakes there. Not sure if the place is so remote they dont get easy access to clean water/ice but we end up in hospital with IV medicine and antibiotics for a week. Can happen anywhere but maybe they can improve their sanitary standards.

I love this stay so much. Been here twice in a row. The rooms and the view are breathtaking. I love the balcony so much. 10/10 would recommend.
Nicho S — Google review
I honestly didn’t want to give only 3 stars but the lack of air con spoilt it for me. The room was pretty basic which is okay and it suited me fine. I booked as the sea view balcony over looking the bay sold it to me and as a consequence missed the lack of air con which was my own fault. I was also stitched up by booking.com by paying over the odds. Not a fact, just my gut feeling. Like a lot of Koh Tao, the access roads to places are very steep so if you are new to scooters, please take it easy. After 8 days I got to know the road/track very well and was comfortable with it, even at night. I did a 5 day diving course so didn’t have any time at the restaurant/beach area. It did look lovely and inviting but the restaurant closed at 18:00. The owner said it was because everyone left the complex to go into town which is a real shame for them as it would be such a lovely place to eat. I hope this changes for the owners and people come to dine there as well as the accommodation because it would be a stunning place to eat. Installing air con would have made a huge difference to my star rating and I really am sorry to only give you 3 stars as all the staff were so lovely too.

Booked this place on the basis the snorkelling & diving were great however the weather for the whole Five days was nothing I’ve ever seen rain rain and more rain. Nobodies fault, we did note some of the other reviews and didn’t expect a five star however this place is so rundown and in need of some serious TLC. We were getting bitten so muck from what we thought was mosquitoes it was getting rediculous having taken so many precautions and having the net over the bed. Then the bits started to fester and realised they weren’t mosquitoes but either bed bugs or bed flees. We told the women in charge who we assumed was the owner and she acted like nothing had happened ?she did say it happened 3 years ago and they changed the bed ??? Not even an apology. The road out and in of the resort is dangerous with no lights at night so be prepaired and take a touch if you stay there. I’ve been going to Thailand for 20 years and this is the worst place I’ve stayed come 6pm when the restaurant closed these nothing to do trust me I mean nothing. Restaurant food is priced say 200 baht for pad Thai then you have to pay more for chicken and more if you want prawn and even more for sea food and would say the food is very average. The only nice thing about this place is the view from bungarlow room. But dose not compensate for bed flees my wife’s legs are a mess she must have been more sensitive than me . Needless to say we were do happy to get out of the place and looked round for other places to stay if you want to sample the beach and swim take a taxi or bike visit but don’t stay but be careful of the road it’s so steep.

Seashell Resort Koh Tao is a beautiful tropical retreat located on Sairee Beach, offering stunning sea views and airy villas that feature traditional Thai decor with Balinese influences. The resort boasts an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, and an on-site diving center that offers courses for guests. Guests can also enjoy seafront dining and the option to stay in rooms with private pools. The staff is welcoming and helpful, while the breakfast has numerous choices available.
We had a lovely few days here. We upgraded our room to one with aircon, a fridge and hot water which was a great idea. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, they gave a shuttle to drop off and pick you up from the ferry port which was a bonus. They can book you onto a boat tour which was really fun. Overall great hotel with lovely rooms, pools, great location and great staff. Would recommend!
Manon B — Google review
It was just okay. The rooms are definitely worn down. The shower didn’t drain, there was sand in the bed when we arrived. Relatively minor stuff. The service is terrific though! It’s a fine place to crash for while you’re in the area to enjoy the beach. It is very loud at night though because the windows don’t filter any noise from the clubs along the beach. So consider packing ear plugs.
Ardyn N — Google review
.Catfished and unfriendly/unhelpful staff. We booked seashell resort last minute as was only place left of island within our budget. While room is as described when booking, the door does not reach the floor, leaves a big gap so lots of bugs, gecko’s, mosquitoes and spiders in our room. The bed is hard as rock, very uncomfortable to sleep in. They do not leave soap, no hot water. The fan just blows hot air round the room, constantly sweating and the cleaners just left 1 spare towel outside our room for cleaning when we requested 2 clean ones and a room clean. They did not even enter our room when we requested a clean at reception. No sheets were changed, no bins emptied, no towels were removed and the floor was not swept when we arrived or when we asked for the clean. We asked at reception about an upgrade and the gentleman as reception was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, almost as if we were the one doing him a disservice by asking. The price for an upgrade was the same as we paid to stay in the first place making it double the money and was not even friendly or apologetic about it. We decided not to go with the upgrade as crazy expensive just to get a room where the door touches the floor and bed is not rock solid. Overall great location but not worth the money, would recommend a hostel on island as they seem much cleaner and receptive than seashell resort. Would not recommend

Absolutely amazing stay, we booked 3 nights superior double room. Location amazing, everything you need is just a minutes of walking from room. As well we rented honda click 160cc for 350 a day for all stay and they just delivered it straight to our room no deposit or passport asked just got the bike. We as a couple very happy. Resort in great location, beautiful beach.

Worst service I got in Thailand. Each day the key didn’t work and we had to go twice each time because he didn’t took care of it probably. Made us feel like we did something wrong. The third day, my boyfriend needed to take care with something about his motorcycle and I came to ask them to open my room because the key was with him. So they opened for me the room but didn’t agree to leave the key so I would have electricity!! Although I ask nicely, I needed to get mad and after that I put my id for deposit for the key and the guy that brought me it said- only 1 hour or it’s 1000 Thai bat fine!! Does it sounds ok?
Gaia T — Google review
We stayed here for 2 nights and we were quite satisfied with our stay. There is a large pool and the bungalows were clean although a little too small in my opinion. The bed was insanely stiff but that seems to be standard in Thailand. Only complaints were noisey neighbours and slightly unenthusiastic service.
Driver300y — Google review
Amazing diving school (Seashell Divers) attached to the resort but the main resort let down the experience. We had an amazing experience diving at Seashell Divers, it really made our experience in Koh Tao. The staff were super friendly and patient with us. The service at the resort was poor, I woke up one morning covered in bites which I then went to the doctors about as it was a worrying amount. The doctor made the conclusion it was either bed bugs or sand flies, not wanting to take the chance I asked reception if we could have a room change so that my bits didn’t continue to get worse, this was denied. Eventually I had to beg for the sheets to get changed on the beds which they only changed 1 bed out of the free. We also experienced problems with the lights and aircon which never got resolved. We couldn’t even get a second keycard for the room meaning none of us could leave on their own. We also never got fresh towels even after asking during our 4 night stay. Amazing diving school but the resort and unhelpful/ rude staff really let the experience done dramatically for what we paid.

Worst Experience I ever had. The Room Was Small and Moldy. There Was no Hot water and Air condition - just a small rusty fan. When i Asked them if i can have another fan they shouted at me. Then i decided to cancel the booking and havent seen the money to this day. The location is wrong- definetly a scam. Would Never Recommend anyone to go there!!!

Nang Yuan Island, located just a short boat ride from Koh Tao, is a picturesque destination known for its unique geography. Comprised of three interconnected islands linked by a sandy bar, it offers stunning views and opportunities for snorkeling and diving in the surrounding aquamarine waters. Accessible via boat from various nearby locations, including Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, Nang Yuan Island is a popular day trip destination.
Easily accessible island just off Koh Tao, very beautiful, however it's beauty is hidden , by large numbers of day visitors, until the last boat leaves at 3:30pm, leaving only those staying at the hotel, and it's staff.

We (the tourists) took the best part away years ago. Above the water everything looks clean and neat. Beautiful sunset etc. Underwater different situation. There is not much littering to be seen however most corals are basically dead. Same as Koh Tao all around the island the snorkel spots look like grave yards. Few fishes here and there. The years of extended underwater tourism with unprotected exposure to dum and ignorant people who would just stand on the corals took its toll. It’s a disgrace. Maybe too late the Thai finally introduced stricter measures. Best thing to do for us - not come back for 50 years

An absolute must visit when in Koh Tao. This island is absolutely gorgeous, the white sands, turquoise waters and the stunning greenery and scenery make this an absolute paradise. Instead of booking an expensive tour to visit here, we drove to the hotel Dusit Buncha and paid a few hundred baht to use there boat service which goes usually most hours and takes about 10 minutes.

did a three hour trip to this island near Koh Tao and it was absolutely worth it! It’s about 10 min with long tail taxi boat The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Aow Yai, also known as Long Beach, is a stunning destination on the west coast of Koh Chang. Spanning an impressive 3 kilometers, it’s the largest bay on the island and offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. This beach is ideal for surfing, unwinding under the sun, or simply enjoying breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky in vibrant hues each evening. While swimming here is possible due to its gentle slope, it's more suited for a refreshing dip than thrilling waves.
Wonderful beach with great restaurants, bars and small accommodations lined up. It’ll never be crowded! You can run the whole length of the beach. In the south the places are a bit more deserted, more hippies. In the very north, the most stunning snorkeling!
Raphael B — Google review
Probably the least beautiful beach but with all the trash it is like a treasure hunt. There are lovely stray dogs and surfers 🏄 you can pet both I guess 😜🌺
The S — Google review
This beach is quite long and wide. It looks like a giant mirror when low tides. The sand is not white powder but good enough, no trash and not many tiny pieces of seashells or corals. You can have a very beautiful sunset here. Many restaurants and bars in this area but not so noisy. Also many accommodations with sea views. This is really a place that you should not miss when you travel to Koh Phayam.
D C — Google review
Definitely one of the more "crowded" beaches on this small little island, but by no means is it busy. If you're staying on the island you are most likely going to visit Aow Yai (Long beach), take a stroll, enjoy a spectacular sunset and eat at one of the great restaurants.
Bejamin M — Google review
Aow Yai translates to ‘big Bay’ in English. This bay is incredibly wide, boasting the longest beach on the island. It’s also known as the sunset side, offering breathtaking views every evening. With its vast stretch, you can easily find a peaceful spot to sit and watch the sunset without anyone blocking your view. However, the sand isn’t pristine; it’s a mixture of mud and regular sand, although it’s not too bad. Along the beach, you’ll find bars and restaurants, but they tend to be on the expensive side compared to others.
Armeenaj — Google review

This is a long surfy beach. In late April many beachfront restaurant and bars were shut , but there were still a handful open to sit at. We didn’t swim as some of the waves were big and strong for an intermediate swimmer . The water was not clear in late April when we visited .

A nice very long beach. The scenery is nice. However, the waves are quite strong. So, I don't think it's suitable for swimming. Rather, it's a nice spot for those who love surfing.

Ao Manao beach is a stunning location in Thailand that often escapes the attention of tourists. Despite this, it undoubtedly ranks as one of the country's most picturesque beaches. The wide expanse of clean sand and shallow waters make for a beautiful setting to relax and take in the natural beauty around you. However, visitors should be aware that the beach closes at 6 pm, so it's important to plan accordingly to ensure you have ample time to enjoy everything it has to offer.
What's not to LOVE! After 4 months of travelling through Indonesia Malaysia & Thailand, this is one of the best beaches we have come across; definitely ranked in our top five matching the Gili Islands. Access 6am to 6pm as Military owed Air base. Toilets/showers, eateries, chairs/shade. Do tend to lose the sun about 4pm during February which then brings locals down to the area... beautifully gorgeous, as are the sunrises. Safe access to sandy warm waters.
Skram J — Google review
Big disappointment. Great for pictures and for eating cheap. Windy, hard sand, water not inviting at all. You don't see 1 person in the water, not to say swimming. The mountains around are beautiful. And the city itself, dead. Which l felt very bad for the locals. Tons of places to eat and tons of places to stay ( search on your own before booking anywhere) but all empty. The fisherman's village( very north of the bay) is the best place to stay. Stunning view, very charming, not windy and the restaurant Lung Yai Pu Pen has amazing seafood, ocean front close to the nature reserve. Was our spot for 1 week, last one of the year. Other than that...will not come back.

Beautiful beach. Perfect pit stop if you're driving down the gulf of Thailand. Came midweek and it was so peaceful and quiet. On the whole stretch, only saw about 5 other visitors. Note the beach is on a military site so you have to pass a checkpoint, but the guards were very friendly. Opens 6am to 6pm. Lots of food and drink stalls line the beach. If you come from the Prachuap Khiri Khan town side, you'll get to drive across a runway, which is very cool.

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, loosely translated as "the mountain with 300 peaks," is a 98-sq-km marine national park featuring white sand beaches and the renowned Phraya Nakhon Cave. The park offers diverse attractions such as pools, swamps, caves, and abundant wildlife, making it an ideal destination for families. Bueng Bua within the park is a stunning sight worth visiting, offering boat tours through the fresh-water marshland.
This was my 3rd time here. I’ll never get tired of coming back and means a lot to me! Magical place! This is a place the requires a lot of walking, up and down the mountain, make sure you’re fit enough to walk for a long distance in the heat, but once you arrive to the center inside the mountain, you can chill with the amazing views!! Loads of steps up and down but half way you got toilets and a nice restaurant to refresh with food and drinks. Also toilets. Half way there is a beach too. You can also take the boat the other way around making it easier to reach the beach (half way)

There are so many different places that you can experience in this National Park.It was so much fun. We decided that we were going to do the one hour boat tour. The mountains are just stunning and the views are beautiful. Be careful with the monkeys. They're very aggressive with food.If they see you have anything, they'll try to take it from you.If your car is open. They will go in your vehicles and they will climb on your vehicles.

This is definitely worth checking out while you’re in Hua Hin! It’s a bit of a “hike” (I used quotes because it’s mostly stairs 🤷‍♂️), but totally worth it, but here a a couple of things to know before you go. First, you have a choice of walking/hiking there or taking a boat. I took the boat cause I wanted to be on the water, beach is so beautiful here. If you take the boat, bring sandals because you must walk into the ocean a bit to climb onto the boat. If you walk, it looks like an equally beautiful walk; the natural landscape here is beautiful. One last tip: while in line, a local asked us if I wanted to split the cost of the boat with her and her daughter. I agreed (if I recall correctly, paid 200 of the 400 TBH total), and this is an important point. This very cool and nice local girl informed me that she was happy I agreed because she claimed that the people operating the boat-ride service will often try to add a lil foreigner tax if you’re not in the “know.” She told me that they will usually tell foreigners that it is 400 TBH per person, when the actual cost is 400 TBH total for the ride, which can be split amongst the passengers in anyway they see fit. Ergo, according to this cool local girl I was fortunate enough met there, if they tell you that it’s 400 per passenger, it’s definitely a foreigner tax haha 🤣. Back to the “hike”, I wore sandals to get on the boat and for the hike, and I was totally fine. I’m not the Michael Phelps of hiking nor anything like that 😝 , just saying that if you’re concerned, might wanna bring a towel and a pair of shoes to change into after the boat ride. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s mostly stairs you’re climbing, but they are stairs carved out of rock or made of wooden logs, you know like almost kinda like “natural” stairs, not something built from Home Depot supplies. The “stairs” are often uneven, slippery, jagged, etc., but I did it in sandals and I’m a 40+ yr old dood, so…. It is not the shortest “hike” haha and it can get hot af, so bring water. Once you get to the end, totally worth it tho. There’s a couple of fake/statue monks on display in the cave so don’t let those freak you out haha 😂. But yeah fr tho, totally worth it. Once you’re back to the beach the boat dropped you off at, there’s a really good local restaurant there selling some delicious, grub food there. So after the “hike”, grab some good local eats and a fresh coconut water 😋. One last thing, when we first arrived, I was instructed to remember the number of the boat that dropped me off, which I did, but didn’t seem to matter later 🤷‍♂️ but might be a good idea to jot it down somewhere for Justin (just in case lol). Enjoy your trip. @CBD-travelchannel

Beautiful national park. Was quiet when we went so felt off the beaten path. Great food options near the cave. We sat on the beach to eat. Well maintained hiking trails and frequent restrooms. We saw some friendly stray dogs and dusky langur monkeys.

A hidden gem in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, famous for the royal pavilion bathed in sunlight through a natural skylight. The hike is a bit challenging, but the breathtaking view inside the cave is worth every step.

Kui Buri National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Kui Buri National Park is a verdant forest with scenic driving tours that offer glimpses of Asian elephants and other wildlife. I had an enjoyable journey there with a close friend, where we encountered wild bulls and Thai elephants residing near local homes and pineapple farms. The fresh air was invigorating, and camping amidst the greenery was an unforgettable experience.
We stayed at Vana Varin, and the receptionist there helped us find the taxi driver that drove us to the national park and waited about 3 hours for us, while we took the Safari, and drove us back to the hotel, except we asked him to recommend a restaurant for him to leave us at instead.. this service cost baht 2600. Tickets to enter the national park were baht 200 p/person, and we had to pay an additional baht 850 for one of their vehicles with driver, plus a guide. We also hired a pair of binoculars for baht 50. This was a memorable experience, as we sat in the back of an open vehicle and drove through vast amounts of forest looking for elephants.. apparently there are around 300 elephants in the national park. We were so lucky to see 11 elephants, and they are roaming 100% freely.. we were not even permitted to stand downwind from the elephants and had to keep our distance. The setting was stunning. Our guide was friendly.

We did the wild elephant watching in Kui Buri National Park and it was incredible! We came here to the enterace first for information then headed to the elephant watching area to buy tickets. Don't fall for the tours if you're staying in Hua Hin, they're over priced. We hired a car between 3 of us which was 1500 baht, then 200 baht per person for park enterance, and 850 baht for the truck, driver and guide between us. Our guide and driver were great and we were lucky enough to see about 20 wild elephant as well as other animals!

Excellent experience and a highlight of our Thailand trip. We had our own car which made getting to the park much easier and cheaper than a private tour. We arrived at 2pm and set off into the park straight away. After a short trip we were guided to a group of 25+ Elephants. Couldn't recommend this highly enough.

Visited October 23, 2025: Wow. This was an INCREDIBLE National park! We booked a private tour through Viator with Ken Diamond Tour Hua Hin (about $140/person for park entry, private 4x4, dinner, English speaking guide, and transportation to and from Hua Hin). Our guide accompanied us on the drive through the park so we could ask questions in English. Because it was just us, we were able to take our time at every stop we made. I would have not enjoyed this experience as much in a shared group 4x4. Because we booked a tour with transport, I can’t speak for the process of getting your tickets at the park, getting assigned a 4x4, or the English proficiency of the drivers and park staff who accompany you as our guide took care of everything and made it seamless. (I would recommend a guide). But the experience was incredible. The park scenery is absolutely stunning. We saw so many gaur and their babies and 3 male elephants from afar! We were grateful to see any at all as we knew the possibility of seeing none. We stopped at 4 or 5 different spots. The drive was 7km into the park, and 7km back out the same way so you have the chance to check out viewpoints again to see if more elephants have come about. The staff are always talking to each other on radio to alert elephant sightings to make sure you see them (if there are any). Binoculars are 100baht in the visitor center where the tickets are purchased. Get the big ones, we used them a lot! This is a big park with a lot of thick trees and greenery for them to hide in. It was fun seeing the elephants little trails through the brush off the sides of the roads, and knocked over trees and branches. Signs they are around! The weather was perfect on the day we visited. Sunny and very windy so it was almost chilly by sunset! Not too hot at all, even when we started at around 3pm. But I recommend good sun protection since the 4x4’s are open to the elements. We had UV protection jackets and hats, plus a lot of sunscreen. The vehicle we were in had 3 umbrellas so if it were raining we would have had protection too. I can’t speak for that in all national park trucks though. There are toilets in decent condition by the visitor center. They have toilet paper! I also want to add - I’m surprised and saddened by a lot of negative people in the reviews here who can’t appreciate a place for what it is. The entire point of visiting a national park, to MAYBE see elephants, is that these beautiful animals are WILD and untouched by humans (as they should be) vs the unfortunate alternative of abuse and tourism cash grabs that is rampant in this part of the world (riding, bathing, unethical practices). If in the event you don’t see any, but you can’t find beauty in the other animals, birds, insects flying around, plants, and scenic beauty, that’s a YOU problem. If you do see some but at a very long distance and complain that there aren’t roads to get you selfishly closer to them or you can’t appreciate the fact that your own two eyes, even with binoculars, have seen these endangered animals live their lives safely from afar, that’s a YOU problem. Everyone should know the risk of price vs not seeing any elephants here, or seeing them from several hundred meters away. It’s luck! Enjoy the experience! ❤️

If you want see elephants in Thailand, this is the ONLY place to do it. Eco tourism at its finest, most of Asia should take a big example from this institution. An abandoned setting deep in the jungle near the Burmese border and limited daily visitors allow this national park to flourish like almost none in the region. There’s only a 7.5km dirt road with four viewpoints along the way, to stop and lookout. It never feels overcrowded, it never feels like too close to disturb the animals natural behaviour. That being said, 100 Baht rent for binoculars is money well spent. We were able to 17 wild elephants, countless Gaurs and lots of birds including hornbills, eagles, kingfishers and egrets in the short span of only 3-4 hours. Please support this place instead of visiting any of the countless Thai elephant “sanctuaries”. This is how animal tourism should be!

We went wild elephant watching at Kui Buri National Park! The park entrance fee was 200 baht per person, and the truck with a driver and guide cost 850 baht in total. Our guide and driver were fantastic, and we were lucky enough to spot around 40 wild elephants, along with other wildlife. We patiently tracked and waited for the elephants, and late afternoon turned out to be the perfect time for it. We also got a close look at a hornbill, some deer, and junglefowl. Worth a visit. Best either you hire a car to get here as town is not that close. I would love to visit again.

A must-visit for wildlife lovers! Driving through scenic forest trails, you’ll have the chance to spot majestic wild elephants grazing peacefully and herds of gaur roaming the open grasslands. The park is home to hornbills, deer, and many other species, making every visit a true safari experience in Thailand. The peaceful atmosphere, stunning mountain views, and close encounters with nature make Kui Buri an unforgettable adventure.

Nestled within Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Phraya Nakhon Cave is a breathtaking natural wonder. The cave's enormous chamber houses the exquisite Kuha Karuhas Pavilion, a historic royal structure dating back to King Rama V's reign. Sunlight filters through the collapsed roof, casting an enchanting glow on the pavilion and creating a magical ambiance.
Very beautiful cave. Highly recommend a visit. You can either go by car or by boat. If you take the boat you skip the initial 500 hike which is quite steep. If you arrive by car there is plenty of parking space and vendors that sell water. Make sure you bring enough water! Second part of the hike is uphill quite steep but doable. You will be rewarded with great views at the end of the trail. Stunning views of the sun shining through the cave ceiling. Well worth a visit. There are toilets and restaurants on the beach at the base of the climb

This is one of the "must" sites to see along the upper gulf coast. Although you may have to really earn it. We went on October 22nd which was a nice hot day after quit a few wet ones. The boats would not run in the stormy seas so you will have to hike the first leg by the park entrance. Fee is 200 for foreigner, 100 for Thai. The hike can be strenuous if either physically limited, or have any ailments. After the first "up to the viewpoint" and down the backside you come up to the beach. A nice secluded shell filled beach that leads you to the one again strenuous (only because the humidity helps the sweat pour out) hike up towards the cave. The well maked path takes to the first cave system once the jagged limestone path levels off. Then down through a cave opening to the grand entrance of Phraya Nakhon Cave. The lighting causes for a very dramatic backdrop to the shine. Quite spectacular. And the temperature in quite nice dropping at least 8 to 10 degrees Celsius lower than the outside temperature. On a Wednesday it wasn't really crowded and with patience can have the whole place to yourself for the perfect photo opp.

Amazing spot nice views, to have the best light come 10.30 till 12.00. athe light on the temple is only in February. There are two mountains to be crossed. You need to be fit, children can do it as well. Ways down and up are with stones. The first mountain can be down by boat if the waves are not to high, u arrive rhen directly on the beach and miss the views from the first mountain. At the beach there is a good restaurant with good drinks and they toilettes. From there u can start the second mountain when u made it, there is only ashort way down tonrhe cave entry. At the beginning u can see monkeys Dusty at the second climb or on rhe beach. The cave is amazing we had a very food toir guide she showed is perfect spots for photos.

Stunning drive through the National Park, then a challenging walk to the cave. Spectacular scenery and wildlife on the walk. The cave itself is breathtaking, well worth the walk. I rode a motorbike from Hua Hin, took 1 hour, but amazing mountain's 👏.

First of all, this cave is part of the Khao Sam Roi You national park. I recommend starting your day at the national park's ticket office. The ticket you buy here is valid for more than one attractions. I started my day with the mangrove forest around the ticket office area, then visited the Khao Daeng Viewpoint, after this Klong Khao Daeng (the boat trip price is not included in the ticket) and my last stop was Phraya Nakhon cave. I was riding a motorbike between the places. The cave can be reached by boats or walking. The motorboats are very loud and I prefer walking anyway so I hiked to the cave. Please note that it is a 2km distance. The first part of the road follows the sea shore, with wonderful views. It goes uphill first and then down to the beach. It is a bit rocky and you will definitely sweat a bit climbing here. Through the beach, you walk on flat surface among trees and sand, it is very pleasant (apart from the loud boats arriving every minute). Someone put swings on trees next to the beach, you may take nice photos here. There are also cafes and restaurant, bathrooms here to refresh if needed. The next part of the road takes you through a small forest part - apply mosquito repellent here if you haven't done it yet, they attack straight away! At the end of the forest road, you will see a big sign with many rules (how to dress, behave and so on) and a warning to understand your physical capabilities or limitations - because the next part of the road is very challenging. From now on, the road is mainly uphill on the natural terrain which has some steps built but it is mainly rocky and steep, sometimes a bit slippery. In the hot weather, it's not easy to complete the climb. Halfway up on the hill, you will find a resting stop with benches. The park also stations a first aid team here, which is reassuring. They are on standby for any emergencies or injuries. Also they sell (expensive) water. After climbing for about 500 meters, the last part of the road is finally downhill, believe me, you'll be grateful for that 😁 Please make sure you are dressed modestly to respect the Buddhist principles before entering the cave. The entrance is already impressive. I haven't seen a forest growing in a cave yet. The temple is in the second hall of the cave and if you are lucky, the sunshine will illuminate it. When I was there, I could admire it completely alone (low season) and it was a wonderful experience.

Parking: 10B motorcycle, 20B car Entrance to national park: 100B foreigner, 40B Thai Hike to Phraya Nakhon Cave: 1. 515m along the coast, up and down to reach Laem Sala beach 2. Around 1km flat along the beach. There's a restaurant. 3. 430m mostly up through the forest to the cave entrance. The path is shaded, mostly dirt, sharp rocks and makeshift steps. Physically demanding but very rewarding. Water can be bought at the entrance. Closed shoes recommended.
Gregor H — Google review
The cave at the end is very impressive. The hike there should be better maintained considering the amount of entrance fee revenue they collect. Path is very slippery in the rain, and there’s hundreds and hundreds of stairs. Highly recommend taking the boat there and back. After the beach, the rest of the trail is a brutal uphill treck. Beautiful to see, but wouldn’t go again. Lots of large orb weaver spiders are in the cave too, just as a warning for arachnophobes.
BorG G — Google review
It's a cave. Steep. A wall runs along the path which is sometimes better. I'm fit. Still took me an hour . Take water . Round a big hill. Then down a cave system. Through 2 chambers into a 3rd which had the temple . 200 baht for adults 100 for kids. . Well worth it.

Bought the ticket ahead from Klook is special. I don’t like the VR slide much. VR slide needs to pay extra money for one and multiple. I tried one time. They also have lunch buffet. I don’t know much about can we charge money and bought freely coz the buffet is in limited time. It’ll great to take sandals ahead, you don’t need to take towels, it’s included in the ticket. All sides are fun and safe. I would like to recommend to go there with group 4 or 6 .You don’t need to wait for others.

The garden is large, spacious, and safe, and has excellent service. There are people who take care of the service all the time. There are a lot of food for sale, but the price is quite high. But the food is delicious. Fun and thrilling rides But continue to play the rides, but it's a bit long because there are quite a lot of people. The bathroom is clean. Suitable for having fun with many friends or family.

Large and beautiful water park in Hua Hin which is a must visit if you are here on a family holiday. We were there when it opened at 11am and were there all day until 5pm. We booked a deal via trip.com for around 1200thb per person which included towel, locker, VR and buffet. I didn't try VR myself. But the feedback from the kids was that it was quite disappointing in terms of experience and the resolution of the technology itself. When it comes to the food, I thought the buffet was a good deal for the price we paid. With the buffet option you can get as much food, drinks and snacks as you want until an hour before closing time. It's not food you'll dream about afterwards. But it's totally fine. There is a lot of choice of food stations around the place. The prices seemed totally ok. We got there at 11am when it opened and it wasn't until 1200 that it was crowded. At 3-4 pm there were significantly fewer people. Missed more info about the place, especially regarding food and dining options in advance and on the website. So here they can definitely improve. Thats why I also took alot of images from the food menues around Vana Nada to help other in the same situation. Tip: check around on both trip.com, Klook for the best deal!

The overall experience is really good but let me get one point across first. I don't know for others, but for me I feel like the floor type they have is not barefoot friendly so keep that in mind. (They do have waterproof shoes for sale but those are extra expenses.) I also heard that booking beforehand could be cheaper but I don't know for sure. The buffet is also ok, it's not amazing but it's not bad either. But I suggest adding credits to your wristbands and buy food from the stalls. That way, it might not be better pound-for-pound but it's more convenient and there are more diverse options. (Not cheap but not too expensive). Plus point for how many life guards there are. I feel really safe and they have extra security compared to anywhere I've been to. All the rides are quite generic, like all other water parks in Thailand (you can just check that up). Very good hospitality as well, both from tourists and the staffs. Oh, last thing. There's also rock climbing but you will need a sneaker to play it. Checklist - Change of cloths. - Goggles if you want to swim. (Optional) - Towel (optional, can rent) - Shampoo and soap (optional, they have 2 in 1sin every shower room) - waterproof shoes (optional, they have for sale and if you are ok with barefoot then it's fine). - Money for food credits. And if you have glasses, put those in a locker room. Don't wear clothes that hasza zipper or a button at the back because you might not be able to play some rides. Have fun!

It serves as a platform for artists, designers, and creators to connect with tourists and the community through cultural integration. The market features contemporary art in various forms including handmade decorative items, fashion clothes, secondhand items, and innovative SME products. Visitors can also enjoy creative activities such as workshops, exhibitions, performances, dance shows and music.
Whilst the experience buying food was lacklustre, the kind of shopping you can do at cicada market was really unique! Many skilled craftsmen selling their crafts which you can bring home. Live music and magic show was also very lively, overall still enjoyed ourselves here :)

The market offers a variety of performances, as well as art and food for sale (though the taste might be a bit bland for a Thai like me). If you want to buy food, exchange your coupon first. I also recommend the massage shop at the very back. The masseuses are very skilled. I felt so comfortable that I fell asleep during the massage.

Cicada Market is a must-visit in Hua Hin. It's a fantastic night market with a wonderful atmosphere. It stands out from other markets because it's not just about shopping; it's a great spot for art and entertainment. The market has a wide variety of stalls, especially for handmade crafts, jewelry, artwork, home decor, and clothing. It's the perfect place to find unique, locally made souvenirs and gifts. There are also live performances and music, which really adds to the vibrant energy of the place. It's clear that many international tourists enjoy this market, which gives it a lively, multicultural feel. For food, there's a large food center where you need to purchase coupons before ordering, which makes the process smooth and easy. The food options are great and cater to different tastes. Parking is available across the street. While there's a fee, the lot is large. The overall landscape of the market is beautiful and well-maintained. If you're looking for a market with good food, beautiful art, and a lively vibe, Cicada Market is the place to be. Highly recommended.

Very nice beach with warm waters to swim. Small shops on the way to the beach. Kids and adults had a good time walking along the water and exploring small animals. There were plenty of horse-riding options available at a charge of 250-300 per horse.

This is one long beachfront for the numerous hotels and condos. Except for the northern tip there is basically no place to sit and enjoy. The white sand is mostly washed away. Dirty with plastics in many places. Jet skis drive very close to the coast making it dangerous to swim. A lot of horse handlers walk the beach looking for customers. Is a sad scene honestly.

Accessible to everyone. Clean, white fine sand and clear waters. We went there in the morning and the evening. Early morning is recommended (sunrise) and late night (about 8pm onwards), at nighttime we rented a picnic mat for 50 baht (optional) with no time limit and we truly enjoyed the view at night. Just bring your choice of foods and it’s gonna be perfect.

This beach is nice but crowded. I rented a chair with umbrella roof for 100b. It started to rain and the umbrella roof didn’t help. I ordered a coconut smoothie for 70b. Both were expensive I thought. I’ll check out a different area of the beach next time.

This is a long beach, so I'll focus on the northern end bounded by Hilton since that is my preferred part of the beach. The reason is simply the ability to get deck chairs, loungers and food brought to you without having to use one of the beachfront resorts. There's about 20 deck chair vendors and in low season, there's not really enough customers to go around. The food and drinks cover the standard Thai options. The food is pretty overpriced, but that's the price you pay for convenience. Some people mentioned clean water, but it didn't look clean to me. I was there during low season and there weren't that many beach activities other than horse riding. In the 7 days on the beach I saw one group take a banana boat ride and one jet ski ride, so the activities do run if there are enough people.

Nestled in Thailand, the Hutsadin Elephant Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing elephants from exploitative situations and providing them with a safe haven. The foundation offers an ethical way for guests to interact with these majestic creatures, allowing them to walk alongside the elephants, feed them, and even shower them at the end of their visit.
If you want to see elephants, support this place! Do your research and do not go to alternative nearby spots. You can’t ride an elephant here, though no one needs nor should ride an elephant. The educational piece is great and the elephants are well looked after. There are four elephants, all either with health concerns or rescues. Yes they’re chained, but it’s necessary. They’re lined to reduce friction and they're given more freedom in the evenings. Nice venue with statues and the whole team was great, you can feel the love for these animals. Highly recommend.

A great and ethical elephant sanctuary. They have 4 elephants and the activities you can do with them are awesome. No riding thankfully. But to walk, feed and bathe the elephants is a fantastic experience. It is slightly on the touristy side as they will offer you multiple opportunities to buy trinkets or donate, so bring extra cash and don't be stingy. The operation is efficient, easy to understand and fun. If you choose the walking activity (which I highly recommend) you'll have multiple opportunities to get photos. If you decide to view the temple on site, be sure to dress appropriately as it IS a working temple.

Having spent some time researching local elephant sanctuaries, this one seemed the most legitimate and it was. Other local companies are exploitative of the elephants, whereas these are rescue ones who are impeccably well cared for and loved by the volunteers and that comes across when you’re there. We paid for the walk with them and we walked with Song Gram, the teenage elephant who when you say thank you to her she toots her trunk! She’d been rescued from a circus near Bangkok and they were rehabilitating her and hope to release into the wild. The tour was excellent and they explained how they give them free time on the mountain and are only linked up for short periods, but the chain on the leg itself is plastic so won’t hurt. There’s a small gift shop there selling t shirts, key rings etc, or you can buy handmade jewellery from the mahouts (elephant carer) to supplement their income. Overall, I’d fully recommend this charity and heavily recommend researching the other local companies before going. There’s no need to ride an elephant.

A nice stop to get close and personal with rescue elephants without promoting irresponsible business. This small foundation, located on a thai chinese temple ground, only has 4 rescued elephants. The animals are well cared for by volunteers. Visitors are only allowed to have a short 20-min walk with a little feeding and showering interaction - with the option of an educational class (charged extra). The price to pay must be seen in my opinion as a donation to help the foundation maintain their rescued elephants rather than a ticket for an "elephants experience". Overall and after visiting many "elephants camps" in Thailand, we liked this place. The enthusiasm and passion of the volunteer we met gave us a positive feeling about the foundation and how they operate.

Love this place. Rescue centre for Elephants. No riding or tricks ,just good care for Elephants. Can walk with them , shower them and feed them. Staff are polite and friendly and don't try to sell you stuff. Runs on donations

It was a wonderful encounter with the elephants followed by education about the animals and their past. Yes, the elephants are often chained up, which is also explained on site and why this is the case. Of course, it would be best if all elephants lived in freedom, but unfortunately this is a utopia. You pay a fair entrance fee and then have the opportunity to donate and/or give tips on site. But you are not pressurised to do so. The entrance fee includes a bottle of water and an ice cream. Whether the Foundation makes a profit from this or not and whether the money goes entirely to animal welfare is, of course, not something you can know, but you have to decide whether you trust the honesty of the Foundation that this is true. The elephants are certainly much better off, even if they still live in captivity and are used as an attraction. But somehow the money for their expensive keeping has to come in. What really bothered me, however, was that the mahout advertised his bracelets as being "made from elephant teeth" on the card. In my opinion, that's a no-go. Apart from that, I can recommend the place and hope that the elephants continue to have a dignified and beautiful life.

This is a self funded , nonprofit organization, which rescued injured and unwanted elephants and treats them with food and shelter. The guide was quite knowledgeable and helpful. We fed bananas to the elephants and walked along with the elephant in the designated path . Later we bathed elephants. The cost is 800 Thai Bhat per person. The receptionist also offered us nice ice cream. We enjoyed our visit here

Great experience! We came on Monday because there were English speaking volunteers but they ended up leaving at 12pm (we came around 3pm). But our guide was amazing, spoke great English and was very informative. We walked, fed and bathed the elephant. It was 800 Baht total per person. The elephants are all rescues and look to be taken care of well. They did not push for donations and did provide ice cream at the end. I would definitely recommend going here over other locations!

Nestled in the picturesque Hua Hin Hills, Monsoon Valley Vineyard is a surprising gem in Thailand's wine scene. Formerly known as Hua Hin Hills, this vineyard produces new latitude wines, defying traditional norms. The lush tropical paradise of Hua Hin Hills provides a stunning backdrop for over 250 acres of vineyards.
We fully enjoyed this vineyard trip! Starting from walking around the vineyard, we had a big rain shower to be soaking during our walk, but it was a great memory for us. The tapas and wine tasting experience was beyond amazing. Under viewing down the vineyard trip, we enjoyed 5 marriages between the dish and the pairing wine. I strongly recommend this experience for wine and food lovers, this is the must to do in Hua hin!
Ichiro66 — Google review
Food was fresh and tasty. Had the wine and tapas tasting. Definitely worth it. The ambience is cooling and different as there are not many vineyards in thailand. Staff was attentive and friendly. Maybe you could have a bigger play area for the kids and have a wine tasting fee that allows customers to taste any wine they choose to.

I enjoyed my experience here. Affordable food and the wine tasting was great. Just unfortunate the weather was bad so couldn’t go for a vineyard tour. The service is great and they are quite friendly staff too. Clean and beautiful

I attended a private theater night event with a 3-course wine pairing meal. It was an incredible experience. We were super lucky with the weather—cool and pleasant, making it a great time to sit in the middle of a vineyard. The food was exceptional, perfectly complementing the classic film Sideways, which delves into intriguing topics about wine. It was a truly memorable evening, and I was grateful for the invitation!

Arrived here on the 10am shuttle from the Monsoon Valley Wine Bar. Journey time approximately 45 minutes. At 11am the group of us were taken on a vineyard tour. English speaking guide and very knowledgeable. The tour lasted about 30 minutes and included in the price of the shuttle from the wine bar if I recall correctly. The views are beautiful and it is well worth seeing. After the vineyard tour a group of us were taken to the elephant 🐘 sanctuary where we were able to feed bananas to two male elephants (6yo 10yo). Didn't last long but still enjoyable and worth doing. Back to the restaurant where we had lunch and wine tasting with tapas. Sadly this is when the place let us down as the tapas did not arrive at the same time as they gave me the wines to taste. The cashew chicken is delicious. As were the tapas. On an aside the views from the toilets are worth seeing

Very good wine and food; with an excellent atmosphere. This is my second visit to the vineyard and noticed this time we pulled up to a booth which required each person pay a cash only 200 ThB fee before you can enter the parking lot. This voucher can be used toward any expense including wine, your meal, or items in the gift shop, etc. They do not have any sweet wine options to choose from, but my party liked the Signature Red wine. The food taste and presentation are very good. I gave the food 4 stars because I thought the amount of food on several plates were a bit sparse. I would have liked to see a slightly larger portion knowing the price paid ~370 ThB per plate. The cheesecake was one of the best I've had in Thailand so far. I am not a big wine person but I don't believe you would be disappointed with this place.

I was genuinely surprised to learn that Thailand produces wine—and even more delighted to discover this stunning vineyard! The setting is absolutely gorgeous: peaceful, scenic, and immaculately maintained. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and connected to nature. Whether you're a wine lover or just looking for a unique and tranquil experience, I highly recommend a visit. This vineyard is a true hidden gem that showcases a different side of Thailand—one that’s elegant, serene, and full of pleasant surprises. Definitely worth a visit!
Victoria E — Google review
Let’s get the first problem over with John Monsoon, the dessert is awful. I ordered a berry pie and it’s just a shell with berry concentrate filled to the brim, and not even your wine could tune down this deadly sweetness. But apart from their food, I think the wine tastes great! It pairs well with the beautiful, mountain-stretching vineyard. The winetasting tour on the other hand doesn’t bode well with the time I went there. It’s said that the best time to take the tour is in February or March, so I couldn’t be bothered.

Nestled within the KaengKrachan National Park, about 60 km west of Hua Hin, Pa La-U Waterfall offers a picturesque setting with its 16 cascades and ancient forest teeming with rare wildlife. Visitors can embark on moderate to challenging hikes through unspoiled rainforest to reach the waterfall, where they can marvel at the natural beauty and take a refreshing dip in pools filled with wild carp fish.
Beautiful waterfalls with 5 levels that are available for tourists. In total the waterfalls have 15 levels which you can see on a map at the entrance. You can also feed fish here with food that can be bought for 10Baht at the entrance. In addition they have a small shop to buy refreshment and snacks. If you are planning to make your way up to level 5 make sure you bring enough water as it is a quite exhausting way. You can also swim here if you want. The water is cool and refreshing. Food is not allowed after level 1 so make sure you eat before you go further. There is a checkpoint after level 1 where you have to deposit your food to make sure no food goes further than level 1 but you are allowed to bring water. Entrance fee for adult foreigners is 300 Baht and for kids 150 Baht. For thai nationals it is 60 Baht and 30 Baht for kids. Vehicles are 30 Baht and motorcycles 20 Baht

About an hour drive from Hua Hin city central to this local waterfall. The waterfall is under the park ranger maintenance and control. Theres small fee for enter. Its a great place to bring family for the time together. We visited during long weekend and theres were lots of local, foreigners and Bangkok people.
Sandee T — Google review
Nice drive to the park from Hua Hin on a winding small road. 300 Baht entrance fee for non-Thais and 30 Baht per car. I picked a rainy day, which had the advantage of the park being very quiet. At most of my walk I was alone. Disadvantage is that the rocks are extremely slippery. Friendly NP staff. Some signs are just in Thai and there was no mobile signal, so I couldn't translate it. If I understand it correctly, there is NO food or drinks allowed past the second waterfall. It's a sweaty and very slippery climb though.
Khun U — Google review
Very nice area with a lot of places to enjoy and rest in the cool forest. Wished you could even go more up, the adventure was limited up to stage 4. IMO there are too many fish, which makes it a bit difficult to get into the water. We have been there on a weekday and we’re lucky that the were not many visitors. Unfortunately they did not excepted my Thai ID card, as was mentioned wherefore I had to pay the high farang entry fee. But have to confess, it was worth it!

Pa La-U Waterfall, entrance fee 60 baht, transportation fee 30 baht, great atmosphere, very natural, clear and cool water, the way up to the waterfall is not difficult, some rocks are quite slippery, so shoes must be suitable and have good grip.

The path is quite slippery and challenging. A little climb on rocks along the way. There re 5 floor of waterfall. I recommend 5th floor to enjoy less people and swimmable pool.

Lovely river hike upstream. I climbed to level 5 on many past occasions, but had to stop at level 3 yesterday due to rain/ wet and slipper rocks. Loved it still!
Cute M — Google review
This is a somewhat remote location in the hills near the Myanmar border. There is a trail up to the biggest cascade that is steep and slippery in places but has had ropes put in place to assist you in the spots where you have to scramble up the most. The hike up and back is a nice workout. There are a few nice pools to swim in but there are a lot of fish loitering around looking for a handout and that can be a little off-putting despite what their presence indicates about the cleanliness and health of the water stream. They are fun to watch ascending the cataracts, though. There are several species of butterfly up there and don't be surprised if they land on you looking for salt from your sweat. People seemed pretty conscientious about their trash here, for the most part, but if you bring a bag and schlep some out that you might inevitably stumble across, you will be rewarded greatly by the Great Karma Chameleon of the Universe. We try to get up here a couple of times of year because it is such magical and beautiful place. Definitely, one of my favorite spots in Thailand.

Tham Krasae Death Railway Bridge

The Tham Krasae Death Railway Bridge is a poignant reminder of the tragic history surrounding the construction of the Burma Railway during World War II. Built by Allied POWs and local laborers under harrowing conditions, this bridge stands as a testament to their resilience. Located in Kanchanaburi, it attracts both Thai locals and international tourists who come to capture its beauty and historical significance.
We visited this stretch of the death railway as part of a tour from Bangkok, due to our love for history. Aside from the picturesque location of the railway track running alongside the river and cliff, there is also an important historical significance to this stretch of the railway, due to the difficulty in construction. We were able to board the train to journey with it for 30 minutes, which was quite the experience as the train only runs along the river for a limited stretch. The train is also quite old school with no air conditioning, which further adds to the entire experience. You can also try visiting on your own, but highly encourage you to take a tour due to how outskirt this place is.

When visiting Bangkok, don't miss the Death Railway, about a 3-hour by vehicle from the city. Enjoy scenic views along the way, with affordable restaurants and drink shops around the station.

Tham Krasae Death Railway Bridge is a pretty cool spot, though it does get crowded with tourists. The view is absolutely lovely, especially with the river and the tracks curving along the cliffside. The best part was taking the train afterward—it was such a great experience, with beautiful scenery passing by.

Nice place to take some beautiful pictures and learn something about the modern history of Thailand during the 2nd world war. You could walk over these train tracks to a cave nearby. There's also a beautiful view from here of the surroundings.

Tham Kra Sae is one of the most impressive and historic spots along the Death Railway. The wooden tracks hugging the cliffside above the river are breathtaking to see, and walking along them feels like stepping back in time. The small cave with the Buddha image adds a spiritual touch to this place. A must-visit for history lovers and travelers exploring Kanchanaburi.

Part of the Siam-Burma railway, also known as the death railway. We took a train from Nam Tok station and passed this section. The railway sure looks old, the train had to go very slowly when passing this section. A cool experience but I was just wondering how long can this last before an accident happens (unless they do replace part of the foundation). People will rush to one side of the train to take photos as well, which could make it worse lol. well, we alighted safely.
Ciboysg W — Google review
Take the train from the railway bridge to get here. It's beautiful, historic, majestic and enjoyable. You can get a ride to take you somewhere else after that.
Ray L — Google review
Would have rated this place a 5 star if it weren’t for this one bad experience. So here was what happened, we are a group of 7 people(tourists) who went on the moving train on that death railway bridge to get to another stop just for sightseeing and when we got on the train we were charged 100 baht for each person just to get to another one stop which I think the price is extremely unreasonable while the locals at that same time were charged 3 baht per person, like I mean who made these prices and it was too late for all of us to get off the train because it’s already moving, plus I also believed the ticket inspection officer just made up the prices right out of his mouth and I don’t think it is the official price for tourists, other than this bad experience it’s a great historical site with splendid views ideal for photography and sightseeing

Erawan Falls, located in Erawan National Park, is a stunning waterfall consisting of seven tiers that can be accessed through scenic trails and footbridges. The natural beauty of the park and the falls is open for everyone to enjoy, with additional activities such as visiting the Sri Nakharin Dam Golf Course available for those seeking more adventure. The area also offers various accommodation options and is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Best place for someone who loves nature and waterfalls there are 7 levels of waterfalls and a little hike till 7 level . It’s all worth it . Best time to visit is in the morning or before afternoon bcz the 7th level closed at 3:30 and you have to hike about 1:30 to 2 hours to get to the top
Sannu B — Google review
The area is beautiful, consists of 7 waterfalls. There are golf carts that can help you get to the first few levels, but after that you're on your own. It is definitely a hike and you need to be ready to walk/trek and the path is not smooth. You can swim normally in some of the waterfalls, some only with a life jacket (which you can rent) and some you cannot swim at all. I recommend renting a life jacket and swimming in the earlier levels, as level 7 is the "pinnacle", but there are small fish there that keep biting you, and no one was comfortable swimming in level 7. I wish they sold snacks/drinks at the higher levels, because after the early levels there is nothing but the watefalls, and they take your food/drinks at that checkpoint. It's beautiful, requires a lot of physical effort, and it was rather underwhelming overall. Pictures are better than the reality. If you want to save money, stay in Kanchanaburi and just take a bus or a grab to Erawan.

Stunning. Some of the most beautiful falls I've ever seen. To see all 7 levels is quite a hike but accessible to most. Well worth the walk. The lower 3 levels take very little effort and are fantastic.

My first and last nationalpark in this country! What is this a waterpark or a protected area for wildlife? Luckily i saw some wildlife otherwise it would be a complete disappointment. As a waterpark great i guess especially for families for all nature lovers avoid. Should had spend the time and money for a thai massage . P.s. Tourists who visit my country don't need to pay more for the same attractions as locals.Really shameful.

This is a truly stunning waterfall. There are seven levels, so be sure to bring good hiking shoes, as you'll feel like you're hiking all the time, and there are quite a few steep steps. It feels like you're climbing a mountain. Food and drinks are available for purchase, but you'll need to purchase a coupon. Life jackets are also available for those who want to swim. There are always staff on hand to assist. It was quite a lot of people , but it's well worth it.

Erawan National Park is a renowned destination featuring tiered waterfalls, picturesque hiking trails, and opportunities for nature exploration and swimming. The park is home to the iconic Bridge over the Kwai River, a significant relic from World War II. Visitors can also pay their respects at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and admire the panoramic views from Wat Tham Sua temple.
It's a well maintained tourist attraction. The national park is set up to receive a large number of people, there is plenty of parking and amenities. Access to the waterfalls is relatively easy and the climb is not too steep. Any fitness level can manage. A lot of rules around taking plastic bottles and food. Don't litter and get a swim vest if you want to jump in the pools. It's around 1 hour drive from the main town. During the off season I would recommend staying in a nice hotel in kanchanaburi and drive yourself to the national park.

🌿 Erawan National Park 📍 94GV+5HW, Tha Kradan, Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi 71250, Thailand This is truly one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand! The highlight here is the Erawan Waterfall, which has seven tiers, each one different and stunning in its own way. The first few levels are easy to reach and great for relaxing or swimming, while the upper levels take a bit more effort to hike but are absolutely worth it. There are small shops near the entrance where you can buy food, snacks, drinks, and coffee before starting your walk. You can also take a golf cart ride to the first level if you prefer not to walk the first stretch. After the second level, you’ll need to register your water bottles and leave a small deposit (refunded when you bring them back). No food is allowed beyond this point, which helps keep the waterfalls clean, something I really appreciate. If you’re visiting during a Thai public holiday, be prepared for large crowds. Otherwise, on normal days, it’s peaceful and very enjoyable. There’s also a campground if you want to stay overnight, and nearby spots like the Erawan Dam are worth checking out too. Entrance Fees (as of 2025): •Thai Adults: 100 THB | Thai Children: 50 THB •Foreign Adults: 300 THB | Foreign Children: 200 THB Overall, this park is 100% worth the trip, beautiful nature, clean water, and well-maintained trails. A must-visit if you’re in Kanchanaburi!

Erawan Waterfall is a truly beautiful place, surrounded by lush green forest and a peaceful natural atmosphere. The facilities are convenient and reasonably priced, making it easy for anyone to enjoy the trip without worry. The waterfall and the surrounding forest are well-preserved, and visitors from many countries come to experience its charm. The staff are kind, helpful, and attentive. They make sure everyone is safe, whether it’s providing life jackets or keeping an eye on the hiking areas. Food options are varied, and prices are fair with no hidden charges. There are also comfortable shuttle services to and from the town, which makes the whole trip even smoother. It’s the kind of place that leaves you with a warm feeling — the beauty, the friendly people, and the relaxing atmosphere all make you want to come back again

This national park has a ratger expensive admission (100THB for the locals and 300THB for the foreigners). Due to the popularity of this national park, getting into the park by car including the waiting time at the entrance for payment would take at least half hour. Howwver, there are plenty of parking spaces which drivers do not have to worry about. The park is huge so consider spending at least whole day. There are 7 levels of waterfalls and each of them has its own uniqueness and difficulty. Overall the exprience was not too good because there are simply too many people, but I would recommend to visit there at least once in your lifetime.

Best to visit early in the morning to avoid the crowd and enjoy the cooler weather. Highly recommended for nature and adventure lovers! 🌿💧

History Museums
The Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre is a deeply moving museum located in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, dedicated to commemorating the countless lives lost during the construction of the Burma-Thailand railway in World War II. This thoughtfully designed center offers visitors an immersive experience through its informative displays, engaging presentations, and poignant videos that recount the harrowing stories of Allied prisoners of war and Asian laborers who endured unimaginable hardships while carving through this perilous terrain.
Powerful Place. Hellfire Pass is not only a historic site. it’s a memorial that makes you stop and reflect on the pain and sacrifice of so many during WWII. The walking trail is peaceful and maintained. The free audio tour is good, filled with personal stories. I highly recommend using it. Before starting the trail, I watched the documentary video at museum. Even as a Thai person myself, I felt deeply shaken by what I saw. It reminded me that this part of history affected not only foreign prisoners of war, but also thousands of Asian laborers who suffered and died building this railway. There’s no entrance fee, and I truly appreciate the Australian Government and Embassy for building and preserving this place with such care and respect. Whether you’re Thai or a foreign visitor, I believe everyone should visit Hellfire Pass at least once. It’s a quiet, emotional experience.

Hellfire Pass Interpretive Center is a facility that I believe is funded by the Australians so it's very well maintained and free to enter. You'll find information here about how the konyu pass aka hellfire pass got started and where it cuts through. You'll get to watch a 10 minute video about it. You can buy drinks, supplies here. The toilets are very clean.

A very moving experience, especially for any nationality involved in the building of the railway. The Australian Government looks after the area and it is free admission. I highly recommend taking a free Audio Device and taking the walk as far as Hammer & Tap Cutting.

This place is a museum about the railway construction during World War II, as well as a viewing platform and hiking trails. My boyfriend and I visited on a weekend. The museum is free to enter. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. There are cafes and restaurants around the area. The museum itself is educational about the history of the railway cutting during World War II. Afterwards, there is a guided walk through the area, where the staff will ask you if you want to hike close or long distances. It's like hiking. I recommend wearing sneakers because the road is forested and rocky. You should also bring mosquito repellent and drinking water. Each person is provided with a radio and an audio headset, both in Thai and English. When you're done, return them to the staff. It's totally worth it! We loved it. Highly recommended.

Completely free experience. Spectacular view. Fascinating, free, audio tour, really brings the walk to life. You just hand in a piece of ID (drivers licence). Has an easy short walk and more demanding longer walk. Good shop merch too.

The Hellfire Pass Interpretive Center is an incredibly moving and educational experience. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, giving the history and sacrifices made during the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway. Walking the trail and seeing the actual pass is both humbling and unforgettable. The audio guide is perfect. It’s a place that honors history with dignity and respect. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area—this is more than a museum; it’s a tribute to resilience and courage.

This museum is wonderfully set-up to commemorate, honor and show respect to those who were forced into hard labor as POW. Sadly, o-so many did not survive. The entry is free, the introduction by the staff is fantastic, complete with a map and audio to explain each of the stations. Staff is great to help and guide you, from the guard at the gate to the staff in the building. Please be prepared to walk several stairs to start and finish each walk. You have the choice to walk the short or longer distance. Either walk gives you great details about the hardships the POWs had to endure. The displays are well set up with clear explanations in Thai and English (on the plaques and audio). Please visit this museum to get a distant glimpse of how the POWs had to suffer. I will definitely go back for the long walk to get more details.

Mon Bridge, the longest wooden footbridge in Thailand, is a popular attraction in Sangkhla Buri. The village offers various nearby attractions such as the market and main temples within walking distance. For those interested in visiting Wat Wang Wiwekaram and Chedi Buddhakaya uphill, renting a motorbike is recommended. The town was established by Mon families fleeing Burma over 60 years ago, resulting in a diverse cultural mix of Karen, Mon, Thai, and Burmese residents.
This place is really peaceful. It's rich in Mon culture and walking over the wooden bridge as well as floating bamboo bridge under Mon bridge was a great experience. You can rent a boat for 500 baht and tour the ruined monastery and do the sightseeing as well.

The bridge offers scenic views of the surrounding reservoir and local life, with many highlighting the beautiful scenery at sunrise and sunset. I enjoy walking across the functional pedestrian bridge, observing traditional Mon houses, and experiencing the local way of life. The surrounding area features small eateries and craft stalls.

The view is nice and you can experience the local culture. One thing I dont like is that the parent use the kids especially the younger gals offer to take photo wt tourist and get some money. Other than the bridge walk the surrounding hygiene level is poor and it is full of used plastic. For the journey to reach this place if you don't join the monk offering then I don't think it's worth the travel.

A wooden bridge built for connect the Mon village and Thai village across the dam. It's an iconic place for people visiting the Mon village to shoot some photos.

According to the locals in Sangkhla Buri, Mon Bridge is a major attraction in the city, 850 meters long and the longest wooden bridge in Thailand. I came out a little crooked in relation to the bridge, so I ended up walking the bamboo bridge to the other side, where there are cafes and restaurants, and walked back over Mon Bridge. A nice walk of about 1.75 kilometers round trip, where you also see both restaurants and accommodations, as well as private residences on rafts on both sides of the bridge.

A motorcycle ride to Mon Bridge is unforgettable—scenic mountain roads, fresh air, and a stunning wooden bridge with a peaceful village vibe at the end. Mon Bridge in Sangkhla Buri is a must-visit in Kanchanaburi—Thailand’s longest wooden bridge, built by the Mon community. Walking across feels peaceful and cultural, especially at sunrise when the mist covers the river and locals give alms to monks. The views are stunning, the atmosphere is unique, and the nearby Mon village adds so much charm. A beautiful mix of history, tradition, and scenery all in one place

The wood construction is impressive and it feels satisfying to walk over the bridge. From here you can also see the sunken temple via boat tour.

We visited the memorial garden today and could not be happier. We booked a return journey on Grab and the driver kindly waited 30 minutes for us (for a small tip). The memorial was listed online as ‘closed to the public’ but the gardeners beckoned us over and allowed us to enter. We had the whole place to ourselves! The gardens and graves were so well maintained and the whole place was just stunning. They directed us to the grave of my Great-grandfather and were very welcoming. We are so thankful for their help. Well worth a visit!

Beautifully designed and maintained grounds that will impress most visitors. I visited the Htauk Kyant War Memorial Cemetery on my way back from a day trip from Yangon to Bago. It's an excellent place to stop on the return trip. It provides a lesson in history and a look into the lives of locals who use these grounds as a public park, a green space where there are many corners to sit, observe and meditate.

Great place for historic understanding and realisation of the damages by the world war. How people who were thousands of kilometres from this place fought in the war that was going to give nothing to them. People from Africa fighting for England in Myanmar against the Japanese. How on earth that makes sense? It's a reminder that wars are fought for the egos of the leaders.

The tall stone pillars, engraved with the names of the fallen soldiers, stand tall and proud, reminding visitors of the bravery and heroism displayed by these courageous men. The intricate details of the carvings showcase the dedication and craftsmanship that went into creating this memorial. What truly sets this cemetery apart is the sense of serenity it exudes. While I couldn't venture inside the memorial during my visit, the exterior itself left an indelible impression on me. In conclusion, the Htauk Kyant War Memorial Cemetery is a breathtaking sight even from the outside. Its remarkable architecture, meticulously maintained grounds, and serene surroundings make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a place of remembrance and tranquility.

Even though it's right next to Highway 1, it still manages to be a tranquil place for remembrance and reflection. The grounds are well kept and clean for the most part, and visitors and locals are generally respectful of the place and what this cemetery stands for. You can see the graves of people (some marked, some unknown) from numerous countries. While it may not be a "must see" when in the Yangon area, you certainly won't be worse off for taking some kind of transportation (bus, taxi, bicycle) out here to see it.
