Have had this temple in the corner of my eye on a few passes, but this time it was a U-turn and a visit. There are big conditions here, so it took some time, but I didn't see any other people during my visit. This is a magnificent temple, densely packed with impressions, over quite a large area. If you are passing by, or nearby, a visit is recommended. There is a huge parking space after the entrance to the temple.

For Buddhist, especially those who are born in the Year of the Tiger, it is a blessing to pay respect to the hair and left elbow relics of the Lord Buddha housed in the gold pagoda. After climbing the main stairway and entering the upper gate, there is one of the most sacred Buddha statute in Phrae known as Phra Chao Tun Jai where Buddhist will pay respects and make their wishes before going into the pagoda area. There are also many interesting Buddha statues surrounding the area around the pagoda and it is worthwhile to walk around and see. One can always find a quiet corner where he/she can meditated and feel the vibes.

This is an interesting place and it's well maintained. The park staff are friendly too. It doesn't look natural. It looks like an area that has been strip-mined, but if it's 100% real, it's pretty impressive.

Sao Din Na Noi is a must visit when in Nan Province. It is a very interesting geological phenomena created over thousands of years. It is very close to the city of Na Noi with good signage. There is an older trail to follow but it has disappeared in some places but exploring the place is a lot of fun. Go and enjoy your hike!

It is very nice campground. You can see the sunrise easily. The place is clean and the shower room is good also with the hot water. There is one lovely coffee shop where you can sit and enjoy the view.

I visited this cave 4 years ago but then it was closed down but now it was open to visitors. Parking on site is fine, and there is free access to the cave, and you organize yourself without guides. There is a short distance to walk, uphill with stone steps leading up to the entrance to the cave. For those who have slightly claustrophobic tendencies, there is an opening at both ends of the cave, so should something happen, there is an opportunity to get out. It was only me in the cave during my visit, and of course it was dark for the light to do its job. Narrow wooden bridges have been made to get through, where necessary, and it was a nice experience to get through the cave. As you can see from the pictures, I went out at the other end, before starting the return trip. In terms of photography, the darkness was a challenge for the camera, and a tripod would certainly have made the sharpness of the images somewhat better, but it was not available. The place is recommended for anyone who has the opportunity to visit, but the trip up and down from the entrance can be a challenge if you are not quite mobile.

Small national park in Phrae with highlight attractions at Eng Mok Cliff with sea of fog early in the morning and Kaeng Sue Ten(แก่งเสือเต้น) with rocks formation in the middle of Mae Yom River running through it. Sea of fog can be found around winter approximately around November to January. Taking scenic route toward Lom Dong(หล่มด้ง) you should reach the scenic point just before the end of the road. The road is really winding but not too steep so it's a pretty easy ride. Tent camp and accommodation are around Kaeng Sue Ten area with small canteen available. I would recommend to come around November to December as the water is clearer, the air is cooler, and the trees are still green.

Very nice short trip to the lake temple. The boat is the fun here. I paid 100 bhat because I was with 2 more people. If you come alone it's 300 bhat. Don't forget to tip the driver 👌

This rest stop is incredibly well-organized and has everything you need! A highlight: you can cook eggs in a hot spring. Vendors walk around with baskets containing three eggs, which you can buy for 20 baht and boil right there. It’s a unique experience

On my way to the White Temple, I stopped at Thaweesin Hot Spring for a quick breakp. The hot spring is surrounded by beautiful greenery, and it’s a fun spot to relax for a bit. The atmosphere felt very local and peaceful, with a few snack stalls and places to grab a drink. It’s not a place I’d spend hours at, but it was perfect for stretching my legs and enjoying the natural hot spring vibes before continuing the drive. From The Astra Sky River in Chiang Mai, we got there by car on the way to the White Temple—it’s about halfway and made for a great pit stop.

I had an unforgettable stay at Rai Ruen Rom. I stumbled across this slice of heaven when google searching organic farmstays in Thailand. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with wonderful Thai hospitality by Jan, Apple, and the whole team. I got to tour the farm and took part in tie-dyeing, infusing honey with wildflowers, baking cookies, and walking around the property with the happiest dogs. Then there were the meals. So good! All meals were generous and healthy and delicious. My accommodation was beautifully modern and I got to see breathtaking views of the night sky and sunrise. I left RRR recharged, informed, and inspired to implement some of their ideas into my own future farm. Though I was only there for two days, the experience left a lasting impression, and I can’t wait to return. Thank you, Apple, Jan, and everyone at RRR. You made me feel right at home and few experiences are as genuine as this.

It is one of the most beautiful Temple that i visit in Thailand .I don't know why no one have this Temple on their backet list,it's much better than white or blue Temples. It's amazing Temple, with unique design and build. It's a great place to bring kids or just have a day out with family. I strongly recommend visiting this Temple, you will definitely be satisfied with your visit. Also it's free,but if you want to visit main Temple inside it's 10 bath,if you would like to go for sky walk it's 40 bath and don't forget to bring some money for donations 😉 Enjoy

Beautiful, spacious, clean and well-kept park, with a wonderful, species-appropriate small zoo. With the golf cart you can comfortably drive around all the attractions.

So much development on the mountain- lots of camping domes and coffee places. The road is slightly narrow but not a difficult drive. Fantastic views all along the summit

The food centre at the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar has a wide variety of local Thai food stalls. There’s a stage for live music, which usually adds a lively vibe—but during our visit, it was raining and the low season, so there were plenty of empty seats. Still, we had a great time! We ordered a hotpot that came with a generous basket of vegetables and a large plate of meat, prawns, and cuttlefish—all for just 200 baht. It sounded too good to be true, so we asked three times to confirm the price—and yes, it really was that affordable! We also got vegetarian gyoza from another stall and finished our meal with a tasty box of mango sticky rice for 50 baht. There are many stalls offering a good range of local dishes, so it’s easy to find something you’ll enjoy. Highly recommend this place for a casual and budget-friendly dinner. By the way, we had a fabulous massage just a 3-minute walk away at Chiang Rai Nice Massage. Definitely worth checking out while you're in the area!

It’s a golden clock that has a light show every hour on the hour starting at 8pm. No tickets, it’s just in the middle of the street. The birds make the experience more dramatic. They are like paid actors moving to the rhythm. However, it’s nothing crazy and can be missed if no time.

A must visit if in Chiang Rai, the temples with their historical value, the museum is very interesting and so well set out. There are Buddhist meetings every Tuesday at 9.30 am where everyone is invited to join, and so interesting

This is our favourite waterfall, with a trail spanning approximately 3 kilometres in a full loop. For the most scenic experience, take the first bamboo bridge on the right when you encounter it—it’s a picturesque starting point. The trail offers a raw, natural charm surrounded by lush greenery and is relatively easy to navigate. Once you reach the waterfall, you can even descend to enjoy a refreshing shower, provided you don’t mind the cold water. We highly recommend visiting if you’re in Chiang Rai, and the best part is that entry is completely free.

Beautiful temples to visit,I really appreciated the experience on the statue in particular. With 10 baht you can use the lift and go in the head of the statue where you got a great views of the temple and the surrounding area. The internal of the statue is really well decorated aswell. Another good experience!

Great place for people looking for something different! I first came here ten plus years ago and the artist's work made a deep impression on me. His paintings exude strong strokes, and seeing paintings was worth the trip alone. Original paintings can be seen in the galleries next to the parking lot. The main structure on the museum grounds contains prints. One thing that stands out is the artist's prolific collection of things. Some interesting buildings on the grounds, one of which is reminiscent of a traditional house in Sulawesi (also some statues that looked Balinese in origin). Everything is visually engaging, definitely not a typical Thai attraction. There are artisans in the back building wood working, which was great to see as well. One staff said before COVID the museum would receive two to three thousand guests per day, but now visitors number around 500 per day. There are plenty of tourists here but it doesn't feel overcrowded. Well worth the visit.
