Concordia 2000 Kronplatz peak has emerged as a popular ski destination in Europe, offering fantastic gondola access from multiple locations and minimal queues even during peak holiday periods. The modern and efficient lifts provide access to a variety of runs catering to skiers of all skill levels. Additionally, the resort features excellent equipment quality and slope maintenance. With great beginner slopes and schools, it's an ideal destination for mixed-skill groups.
The highest point of Kronplatz provides a magnificient view of the surrounding mountains. The main cable station leads right to the top with no stops and there are two interesting museums to visit too. If you are looking for a day trip in South Tirol, this should be part of your planning!

Visited in summer for paragliding trip, bring sunscreen! Took the Gondola to the top and saw the Lumen museum and had a snack at the restaurant. The views were incredible.

A stunning 360-degree view of the Dolomites! 🌄 The place is absolutely beautiful, perfect for families and kids, but also a paradise for bikers. The trails are well-designed for cycling, making it a great spot for anyone who loves mountain biking and outdoor adventures. The elevation gain is about 1,200 meters from the base of the cable car to the top, which makes the ride even more exciting. Highly recommend visiting!

One of Our Favourite Ski Destinations This has become one of our favourite - and perhaps unexpected - ski locations in Europe. Fantastic gondola access from at least four different locations means that there are few if any major queues to get up the mountain - even during the holiday period when we visited this year. The lifts are modern and efficient; there is a great variety of runs heading off in all directions from the mountain and the quality of equipment and maintenance of the slopes is excellent. Some great restaurants at the summit of Kronplatz but others across the mountain as well. Fantastic 360 views from the summit and it can also be part of the Dolomiti Superski pass which means within an hour's drive you can be in places like Cortina or close to Val Gardena as well for different skiing days. All in all rapidly becoming a favourite destination - and its modern lift infrastructure would be the envy of some of its more famous neighbours - for example Cortina that is full of antiquated and slow chairlifts. Great place to learn and great too for intermediates in particular with a few things to excite the advanced skier too.

MMM Corones

Mentioned on
8 lists
Museum
Specialty Museums
Located in South Tyrol, MMM Corones is a futuristic mountaineering museum designed by architect Zaha Hadid. It is one of six themed museums created by Italian mountaineer Reinhold Messner, each focusing on different aspects of man's encounter with mountains. The museum offers panoramic views of the Alps and showcases the people who inhabit the mountains.
It was wonderful to discover this museum nestled up in the clouds at Kronplaz. The architecture is a really special artwork in itself and it holds some seriously good tableaus of mountains as well as many cultural creations. The staff are so passionate about this place it is infectious. Good little museum store.

Amazing museum, now I see alpinism with different eyes. Incredible architecture and the combination of alpinism history, beautiful oil paintings and the natural views of the Dolomites from the balconies is really worth the visit.
Ramona R — Google review
Amazing museum in an amazing location. Well worth it, whether you are interested in mountain climbing or not. But, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT ASK GOOGLE MAPS HOW TO GET THERE. It will tell you to drive up the mountain. What you want to do is to drive to one of the gondolas and take that up the mountain.
Paul M — Google review
Small modern museum displaying mountain art, history and artifacts. The interior platform has an excellent view to the mountain range behinh the museum. There is not much to see here sadly and there are no interactive or multimedia items besides the recording playing at the cinema room. The place was crowded when we visited in late October, so it was hard to move around at times.
Marta S — Google review
Very interesting even if you don’t know anything about mountaineering. Should note - unless you’re a very serious hiker, you’ll need the cable car up and down (museum not accessible by car). This adds €28 to the €12 museum ticket, although there is a lot more to do at the summit than just the museum, so I’d argue it’s worth it.
Karim A — Google review
I visited MMM Corones because it was designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, but ended up finding the displays and views very interesting. Knowing nothing about mountaineering, the short video on loop about the exploits of Messner was informative. The art and sculptures were well selected, there is a small gift shop as well. Short walk from the godola style chair lift.
Zeglar F — Google review
Amazing experience. The tram to get there takes quite a while but it is definitely worth it. There are a few places to eat at the top. Overall a very nice place to visit even if you're not going skiing.

The Hohe Tauern National Park Information Centre offers an immersive experience with its interactive museum and 3D film showcasing the stunning Alpine landscape. Covering 1800 square kilometers, this nature reserve boasts diverse habitats for a wide range of species, making it one of the most impressive high mountain landscapes globally. Visitors can join small group tours led by trained national park rangers to explore the area. The center provides comprehensive information on various aspects such as animals, plants, and nature.
While exploring the area, we came across the Hohe Tauern National Park Information Centre in Mittersill, and it turned out to be a great find. This interactive museum offers fascinating insights into the national park, including its wildlife, landscapes, and ecosystems. One of the highlights was the 3D cinema experience, which brought the beauty of the park to life in an engaging way. It’s a great spot for families, as there are plenty of interactive displays that kids will enjoy. You can easily spend an hour or two here learning about the park before heading out to explore the real thing. The centre also has a coffee shop and a gift shop, making it a nice place to take a break. There’s ample parking right outside, and from there, it’s an easy walk into Mittersill’s town centre, making it a convenient stop while in the area. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby!

Visited on July 4th on our way back from Krimml waterfalls. It is nice little museum. Their 360° movie theater was great. We were limited by the time and could spend there only an hour but for comfortable visit I recommend to allow about 2 hours. We took bus 670 that runs every hour on weekdays but free parking is available. Walk from the bus stop is about 450 meters.
Lada J — Google review
Great spot to spend hour or two and learn about Austria's biggest national park. Expositions are interesting and made also in english (except for 3d cinema) so it's not an issue if you don't speak german. If you are going to Hohe Tauern and passing town of Mittersil I would definetely recommend to stop by.
Peter K — Google review
Very interesting centre, packed with information. Perfect when the weather is not ideal for walking in the mountains. Plenty to keep kids entertained, with interactive exhibits. All the information boards are in German and English. The English translations are good (which definitely isn't the case everywhere in the region). The 3D cinema show is good, but we couldn't get the English audio to work (uses a QR code).
Andrew W — Google review
We only came here for just under an hour after a trip to the waterfalls. It’s an impressive place and we were able to still soak up most of it in the time we had there. Yes, the glacier was a key highlight!

Most Amazing waterfalls I have seen. Sightseeing spots here and there on the trail and the trail was in good condition despite it has been raining a lot here. And places to rest and buy some drinkit & food. Recommended.

We had two people in wheelchairs. This place was very accessible and interactive throughout. I would recommend this to anyone with mobility issues. The exhibits were very well done. We all loved it. Excellent 360 exhibit. Good food.

Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel - KitzSki is a renowned ski resort that offers a wide range of challenging slopes for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. With 233km of downhill skiing served by 57 lifts, the area caters to all skill levels and provides a thrilling experience from mid-November to mid-April. Additionally, visitors can enjoy toboggan runs, cross-country ski trails, and winter hiking trails.
What a beautiful little town and a great place to ski! We only stayed 2 days in Kitzbühel at the Henri Hotel (super close) but we had an awesome time. The town has plenty of shopping and some fantastic food. We rented equipment from Intersport which was super easy and an overall solid experience. It’s very convenient to get on the gondolas to go up the mountain and it’s a beautiful ride and view going up. There’s plenty of places to get drinks and food once you’re up the mountain and the food is pretty good! If you never went skiing at a place like this, it’s amazing. You see never ending mountains when you get up the mountain and it’s gorgeous. There are plenty of slopes for different skill levels and lots of lifts to get to different parts of the mountains. They have huge chair lifts that go up to 8 I believe and some have heated seats as well! We had a great time and definitely recommend coming here if you have the opportunity!
Bryan S — Google review
Really fine and big ski area. For me personally I don’t think it’s something extra, as some people talk about it. But very good overall.
Vojtěch — Google review
Resort and facilities deliver on its promise. Transport to and from is easy and convenient, be it arriving by train bus or car. Maybe expensive, but snow coverage, size, overall quality, lift system, scenery, and food outlets are pretty good. Decent red/blue ratio and off piste opportunities are on offer. Nice clientele and lively apres... We had 6 consecutive days of blue birds in the middle of january leading up to the FIS races, albeit at the expense of some gradual deterioration in conditions. S3 bahn/ Jochberg side offers wide and long runs. Skiing all the way down to the town and main lifts is possible. Recommended..

Fun ride to the ski run, lovely views and walks and a good café. ....and cows with bells!
Alison W — Google review
A great place for ski. The numerous slopes are well maintained, and for at least the two times I have been here The site wasn't crowded and there haven't been any line for the lifts.
דניאל ר — Google review
A really warm hearted place, although its very cold during winter times. We strolled between designers ski suits.
Elias M — Google review
Great resort with good lifts in a nice, quiet, beautiful and welcoming town. Was there during the week and it was not very crowded. Good food at base and huts. The runs were well groomed. The only regret is they we didn’t have more time there. Will definitely return. Loved staying at Gamshof hotel!
Joy T — Google review
Very nice place. The ticket is about 25 EUR but the view is splendid. It feels a bit expensive in summer however the view is very nice. There is no vegetarian restaurant at the mountain top. Hence I would suggest to carry our own food at mountain top. You might want to eat something at mountain top considering the view , which is fabulous. However only drinks are served which is not do good during lunch time.

Element3 Skischule in Kitzbuhel offers a wide range of adventurous activities to make your holiday unforgettable. From paragliding over the roofs of Kitzbuhel to stand-up paddling, snowshoeing, canyoning, Segway tours, and hiking, there's something for everyone all year round. The instructors at Element3 are highly praised for their professionalism and ability to cater to the needs of learners.
Today’s instructors were brilliant. I’m a beginner on my 3rd day of skiing and did 7 runs on slopes today and had so much fun. My wife is an intermediate and learned a lot , improved and had so much fun too. Thole and Stina were our instructors. Big thumbs up.

AVOID HERE !!!!!!!!!! My experience with Element3 is terrible. I have ski Private lessons with element3 and I got 2 instructors in 3 days, the first one being supposedly sick was replaced without advising me on the second day. Strangely enough I saw him on the ski slopes teaching another client… But most importantly, the instructors in Element3 just come for a part time job after their high school and are not able to give you any constructive or valuable feedback. They lack the basics of teaching and counseling and don’t seem interested in what they should be doing. The second instructor is even worse. He never looks at me while I am skiing…
Mars — Google review
The service of ski school and ease of communication during booking are great. What we did not like is the low payment they give to instructors although they are the most expensive ski school in the area. Second thing is that taking full day at Element3 means 4 hours as with other school we have was full day until we were willing to ski.
Tomaž — Google review
Friendliest and most helpful ski rentals in town. Helped us change ski models and snowboard models 3 times in 4 days. Premium skis and snowboards are very high quality and in great condition. Highly recommend!

Element 3 in Kitzbühel: is excellent- We had a super teacher, Thomas from Tyrol. He was FANTASTIC and a great teacher. We had two people ie students on the weekend ; it was a top class experience; we both learnt so much from Thomas. Top class guy! Anouk from Element 3 advised us and organized this for us;

Lovely to see northerners in such a stunning place. Warm friendly welcoming environment. Absolutely loved our ski rental skis, they were fantastic and great quality. We also had lessons with an amazing ski instructor Mees. We cannot thank him enough. We learnt to much more technique and most certainly have our ski let's back for the rest of the season. Three years not skiing and we picked it back up in an afternoon. This company went above and beyond for us. Every member of staff we met was friendly, professional and gave a great experience. So sad we couldn't stay longer we shall most certainly be back and we cannot recommend Elements 3 and their enough. 10/10 VIP experience ❤️

Schwarzsee, a charming mountain lake just three kilometers northwest of Kitzbuhel, offers a serene escape with its dark green waters and mineral-rich setting. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and fishing for carp and pike in the picturesque surroundings. The lake is also perfect for people-powered boating activities like canoeing and kayaking.
This thermal lake has a temperature of between 21°C & 27°C. There are changing rooms and showers for swimmers, as well as a water slide and a diving board. If you don't fancy swimming, there is a lovely 2.5 km walk around the lake, with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view. There are various places where you can eat and drink. Other hiking routes diverge away from the lake, so your walk can be as long, or as short as you like. It is about a 30 minute walk from the centre of Kitzbühel.

A beautiful black lake with huge fish, don't know whether they are carp or pike. Surrounded by huge mountains and very cute alpen lodges. There are kids water slides, the adults can just jump into the water from the many jetties. Serviced by cafes which offer a variety of food and drink. This place gets very busy when the sun is out and extremely popular for sunbathing. Not to far from kitzbuhel and I would recommend the shortcut through the town, very well signposted

Apperantly people here live in last century. Even though 5G internet is available here you cant pay by card to see the waterfall. Very very disappointing
Matiss — Google review
My family and I always travel to Reit im Winkl to ski. The ski area is great, offering various levels of difficulty - there are always pistes available for whether you're a beginner or a "powder-junkie"! It is very handy to have the Winklmoos-Alm area connecting to Steinplatte area. In my personal opinion, the Winklmoos-Alm area is more suitable for beginners, while the Steinplatte area offers more challenging pistes. The Steinplatte course of the mountain is quite scenic and the slopes spread widely across the mountain, so it is not often that you 'bounce' into a stranger. You are almost always guaranteed snow on this mountain, during the winter, and it is relatively close to the big-city of Munich. Steinplatte is a hidden gem and you must visit; be it for the snow sports, scenery or the atmosphere!

Rauschberg is a 1,671-meter mountain in Germany that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps. The area also features cozy mountain restaurants and opportunities for hiking. The journey to the top on the gondola provides an exhilarating experience as it ascends along the rocks.
Cable car up to top. Great area to walk around and see the views!!! Great food at top!
Jon S — Google review
Some info for those wanting to climb this moutain. The cable car is closed and they are building a new one to replace it (in theory). Currently no work has started so who knows when it will be. The bar/restaurant at the top are therefore also closed. If you want to hike up to the top: we took 2h10 to go up at an (above) average pace and doing some small mistakes/side wandering. To go down we took 1h20. So in total we did 14km, 900+ and took 3h30. Note that the indicative panels indicate 3h30 to go up only. If you follow the main path, it is very clearly marked and very « easy ». It is a well maintained and wide path. The only difficulty is the distance and gradient (7km one way, 1000m d+) but that’s up to your fitness. We started from Aschenau. To sum it up: no cable car. Go by foot. 7km one way. Ps: there is a danger sign , if you don’t speak German, no worries it is about being careful with your dogs. Some animals might have babies and be protective.

(Translated by Google) Super nice hike, the train was already closed, so there wasn't much going on at the summit. Very happy again. (Original) Super schöne Wanderung, die Bahn hatte schon zu, deswegen war am Gipfel nicht viel los. Sehr gerne wieder.

(Translated by Google) Very nice as a half day trip. When the weather is nice you have a great view from Lake Chiemsee to the main ridge of the Alps. We have been up there many times, also because travel is free with the Chiemgau card. The steep journey with the gondola along the rocks is also an experience. At the top there is a viewing platform right next to the station. We also recommend hiking for 20 minutes to the actual summit.

The hiking trails were well laid out, some of which required sure-footedness. (Original) Sehr schöne Fahrt mit der Seilbahn auf den Gipfel. Freizeitpark Ruhpolding

Mentioned on

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Freizeitpark Ruhpolding is a one-of-a-kind amusement park nestled in the heart of a forest. It offers an array of activities that cater to both young and older kids, such as rope gardens, water slides, bag slides, and even a crystal mine. The park also features small animatronic houses that tell stories and a roller coaster for added excitement. While it may be more appealing to younger children, older kids can still find enjoyment in the park's nature-focused rides.
Such a unique, beautiful and fun park! In the heart of the forest, so many things to see and do, perfect for younger and older kids. The only thing to note is that the climb to the park is very steep and could be difficult for younger children or grandparents.
Shira S — Google review
I had an amazing day at Freizeitpark Ruhpolding 🎢🌲. The park is beautifully located in the middle of the forest, offering fresh air and stunning views. There’s a wide range of rides: interactive and gentle ones for kids, and more thrilling ones for adults like roller coasters and giant slides. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The park is very well-organized, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are also plenty of seating and dining areas, which makes it very comfortable for families. The ticket price is reasonable compared to the variety of activities and fun offered. Overall, this place combines adventure, fun, and nature, and I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area. 🌟

One of the best family theme parks I've been to. They've given the park design serious thought and made good use of the hill layout. There was plenty for the kids to explore, touch and interact with. The toilets were also super clean and in excellent condition. I can only recommend families with smaller (pre-teen) kids to visit.
Steven M — Google review
Exceptional experience! We came with a 3.5 and a 6.5 years old kids and we had a lot of fun!
Shelly H — Google review
It's a little bit dark for young kids, some attractions seams to be from a scary movie. It's nice, but not sure if kids will have good memories or nightmares. For adults, attractions are boring, for kids scary, hard to say.
Jaime A — Google review
Unique and close to nature. It's literally in the woods at the foot of a mountain. Mostly designed with natural materials, not much plastic. Very well done. The food is mediocre and a bit expensive, but you can bring your own if you want. There are plenty of sitting opportunities and tables (also mostly made of wood). You can spend money for some extras inside, but you don't have to. Great, unique theme park you can easily spend the entire day. You won't find this anywhere else.
Alexander E — Google review
It’s such a beautiful place, up in the hills of a forest, full of enchanting folktales and play equipment. Very adapt to children’s needs, even the toilets are little! A lot of space for picnics and resting and a cafe and restaurant, very convenient and relaxed. Definitely recommended and looking forward to our next visit with our 6 year old!
Jenn V — Google review
Amazing fun Park for the whole family... One can easily spend the whole day there. My daughter loved it, so did Oma, Opa and our dog was also allowed in. Restaurant food and prices were very reasonable. The detail in all the entertainment and rides were amazing. Being in the middle of forest also shaded us from a 30 degree day. Well be back next year for sure

Kufstein Fortress

Mentioned on

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Kufstein Fortress, a medieval stronghold perched above the town and overlooking the Inn River, is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts. This well-preserved fortress has witnessed centuries of territorial disputes between Tirol and Bavaria, serving as a prison for political captives. Today, visitors can explore its reconstructed 1300s design, featuring stone walls, halls, and a museum showcasing regional history and historic artifacts from past battles.
This is a must-see. We took our time and walked up the stairways, then later rode the funicular down. The gift shop is nice. The views from the round prison cell level are amazing. 13.50 Euros each, winter rates.

Impressive fortress, well worth a visit. Keep in mind, though, that it is a medieval fortress, and as such, there are plenty of staircases all around. You should not go there if you have mobility problems.

Probably one of my preferred fortresses to visit. Lots of different areas to get around and lots to see. We took the funicular up and down from the fortress.

Great place to visit. A lot of interesting displays, with signage in English, which was nice for me. The torture instruments were a bit eye opening. Make sure you are in shape, a lot of walking and inclines, and not all smooth surfaces. But if you are mobile, you will manage fine. Great views of the city and valley below. Just when you thought you would be done, there was another nook or cranny to explore. I arrived via train from Rosenheim. Easy walk to the entrance.

A small but well-kept zoo located in a very beautiful area. There’s nothing particularly special about it, except that you can feed some of the animals with food you buy at the entrance for one euro per bag. There are various unique animals from Australia and America, though they would probably prefer larger enclosures.

Nice and small zoo in Ebbs. European and some exotic animals are shown in a very nice environment. In the shadow of the mountains are trees, a small creek and a really good walking for families. Worth to see this and maybe tie it to a visit the Haflinger farm which is near to this place.

Museum Tiroler Bauernhöfe

Museum
Specialty Museums
Open-air collection of chalet-style mountain homes, with hands-on exhibits & historical photographs.
Well designed and laid out museum showing typical Tirolean houses from the different periods of history. It isn't on the flat and there is quite a bit of walking needed to get around the whole site. It is a very interesting place to visit and see how the buildings have changed over the years. There are informative boards outside each of the houses explaining the style and design for its period and location. Also in some of the buildings there are videos of people explaining their daily lives, which have headphones for listening in different languages. There is a large car park, however, it is also easily accessible by a regular bus service, or a 2.5 mile walk from Rattenberg.

A fantastic day out with plenty of education. Free with the Alpbachtal card. English translations of the map were not available/for sale, but not needed. The free downloadable app has everything, with over 1 hour of recorded audio history lesson and explanation. Topics include history, farming, medicine, religion, education and society. Additionally, my wife and I explored more slowly leaving our older children with free organised craft activities, supervised with excellent staff. This might have only been available on the Friday we visited?? We went there on a sunny day and it was very quiet, most people will have been in the mountains. Getting there was awkward, we walked from Kramsach, nearly 5km, a pleasant walk along the road. Two different sources had given incorrect bus information. This museum is on the 621 bus route that directly serves Brixlegg bus station! Easy getting back.... Highly recommended
Neil F — Google review
This place is so amazing! We took a guided tour, which I would highly recommend. Our tour was about one hour, and there was more to see that wasn’t on the tour. There were examples of original Tyrolean farmhouses from the 1500s to the 1700s. You can walk inside most of the houses and see examples of kitchens, bedrooms, workshops, gathering areas, animal areas, and so much more! There is also beautiful scenery outside, including a mill, baking houses, springs, a vegetable garden and some lovely sheep with long tails. There’s also a pond. There’s a restaurant, which we didn’t visit but it looked charming. There’s also ample parking and clean restrooms. Highly recommend!

So cute! The food was amazing. Staff was friendly and asked for vaccination proof, if you didnt have it they gave a self test if negative you were allowed in. The park itself is amazing. Detailed descriptions and build in a logical way.

Neues Schloss Herrenchiemsee

Mentioned on
4 lists
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Neues Schloss Herrenchiemsee, located on the Herreninsel in Chiemsee, was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria and modeled after Versailles. The palace, which began construction in 1878, is a grand homage to absolutist monarchy. Despite being intended as a residence for the king, he spent only 10 days there and was rarely seen. The palace's design reflects Ludwig's romantic obsessions and vivid imagination.
Absolutely stunning Castle built by King Ludwig II located on a beautiful island in Bavaria. The palace tour we took was amazing. Our tour was in English and our guide was terrific. Extremely knowledgeable on the history of the castle. She was very friendly and spoke perfect English. The castle rooms were spectacular. The two bedrooms are out of this world in terms of its decor. It is amazing that 2/3 of this castle are still not completed. King Ludwig barely stayed here before he died. The castle grounds are perfectly manicured. Several beautiful fountains. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The walk around the grounds was very peaceful. We took the train from the main train station and the boat across to the castle. We had a perfect day out and loved our visit. Highly recommend visiting this majestic castle.

Spectacular visit to this Schloss -- really needs half a day. The ferry ride across the See is pleasant and calm, the breezes are refreshing on a warm summer day. Great to learn the history and experience the charm of this beautiful setting.

Fabulous palace on an island in Lake Chiemsee. This is a great place to see the extravagance of Ludwig II. It offers a peak into his obsession with French royalty and his lavish tastes. The palace and gardens are fantastic. (No photos allowed inside, which is a bummer.)
Alex L — Google review
Magnificent, and rich interiors. If the king hadn't lived in his dream project for more than a handful days, so does it not deserve to be visited more than once in my life time. Palace guided Tour is about 40 minutes. No photography allowed strictly! This is what I didn't like the most. It's worth the hype and not worth the hype at the same time. Museum is also interesting visit
Viplava C — Google review
Palace looks big, but only 1/3 of it was finished and is available for visitors. Removing 1 star for a strict no-pictures policy. The mountain view is beautiful ❤️
Valeriia L — Google review
Lake Helen Kim Palace is a magnificent palace modeled after the Palace of Versailles in France. It is a Baroque building. In winter, flocks of geese and ducks graze on the lake, and strolling through the woods on the island offers stunning views of the vibrant autumn foliage.
Tim — Google review
You have to buy entry Ticket to see the interior Palace with a guide. Taking picture inside of d palace it's not allowed, just outside it's possible. You have to pay extra when u need to go to the 🚻 & it was not cheap!
Rosa S — Google review
This is a really pretty palace and a great history lesson for people who don’t know much about kind Ludwig II. The palace itself is whacky and lavish and the gardens, fountains, and exterior are beautiful and scenic. The island has some great walking paths and is a fun outing. The boat there and back also has pretty views and runs fairly consistently. Keep in mind that the price of the boat and the palace entrance/tour are a separate price, the palace ticket does give you access to quite a bit though. The only reason it’s a 4 star review is that you can’t take pictures inside the palace which is a little disappointing but not a huge deal. Overall this is a great stop but does take some time.

This is a beautiful spot. The scenery is simply stunning. This lake is an awesome place to visit. There is a veil of bucolic idyll that covers the whole place. It is an incredibly picturesque sight. a well organised boat comoany, trips around the island every 30min. covered on the top from sun heat, restaurant inside the boats with reasonable prices and the trip is with 14.5€ combined with the train ticket to the shores. the view from the Boat around the bavarian island is something from another level.

I visited Chiemsee Lake, that is a beautiful lake located in Bavaria, Germany. It's often referred to as the "Bavarian Sea" due to its size and popularity among tourists and locals alike. Tegernsee is a stunning glacial tongue-basin alpine lake covering 3.5 square miles, located in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany. It's surrounded by spa towns and hiking routes, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and families. Visitors can enjoy wellness activities, picturesque landscapes, and a variety of dining options. The area includes resorts such as Tegernsee, Bad Wiessee, Kreuth, Gmund, and Rottach-Egern.
Very calm lake, especially in this Autumn season. Great location and plenty to explore around. The fun would sure have been doubled with a bicycle. If you have one, then definitely bring one. Several places around to disembark on a journey of your own. Many peaks to climb around as well!

We took the BRB train from Munich to Tegernsee Lake, which was an easy and comfortable trip that took about an hour. We went just for sightseeing without swimming or taking a boat. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. The lake and mountains create a stunning view that feels relaxing and refreshing. It’s a great place to walk around, sit by the water, and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Even without any activities, it was worth the visit. Highly recommend Tegernsee for anyone looking for a quiet escape from the city.

A Perfect Day Trip to Tegernsee – Nature, Adventure & Peace in One Place Taking the train from Munich to Tegernsee (RB 57) is an experience in itself. The journey is about an hour, but it feels like a scenic film , rolling green hills, charming Bavarian houses, and that magical moment when you first spot the shimmering blue lake from high above. Once you arrive, Tegernsee greets you with postcard-perfect views. The lakeshore is lined with elegant yachts gently swaying in the breeze, cozy cafes with outdoor seating where you can sip coffee while watching the sailboats, and peaceful beaches where the clear water sparkles under the sun. On a sunny day, the lake almost glows, making it perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or simply lying on the shore with a book. For those seeking a bit more excitement, Tegernsee offers plenty of water sports like kayaking, sailing, and stand-up paddling. And if you’re feeling adventurous, paragliding from the nearby mountains gives you a bird’s-eye view of the lake surrounded by the Alps. The whole area has a peaceful, rejuvenating atmosphere. It’s a blend of nature, clean alpine air, and just enough activity to keep you engaged. Whether you’re strolling along the promenade, exploring small shops, or enjoying the mountain backdrop from a sunny cafe terrace, there’s always something beautiful to take in. Bonus Tips for a Perfect Trip: 🕗 Go early morning, especially on weekends, to get a good seat for yoir friends/family. 🚆 Sit on the right side when heading towards Tegernsee for the best view of the lake from above; on the return journey, choose the left side for a repeat of the scenery. 🚌 There’s a bus service from Tegernsee Bahnhof that takes you to different spots around the lake. Divide your time wisely to see as many points as possible. Each corner of the lake has its own charm. Tegernsee is one of those places where time slows down, and you feel refreshed just by being there. Whether you come for sports, sightseeing, or simply peace and nature, it’s hard to leave without planning your next visit.

Erdinger Brewery - Brewery Tours

Brewery
Food & Drink
Erdinger Brewery, located in Erding, Germany, is renowned for its wheat beers and holds the title of the largest wheat beer brewery globally. Established in 1886 by Johann Kienle, it offers a 3-hour tour featuring tastings and Bavarian snacks. Visitors praise the informative English-speaking guides and the opportunity to sample various beers. The brewery's attention to detail and quality throughout the brewing process is also highlighted. Additionally, affordable student rates are available for tours.
This was an amazing experience! Love Erdinger so it was so good to finally come and visit it at source. The tour was in German but nevertheless we had a great experience. After the tour we were treated to a traditional meal of sausage, cheese and pretzels with a few different choices of Erdinger to wash it all down! If your an Erdinger enthusiast then I would recommend this please 100%

We went for a brewery tour and tasting on a Wednesday 15/10/2025 for the English speaking tour. I'll start by saying how lovely all the staff were and how enthusiastic they were about the brewery! It was really interesting to learn how Erdinger is made and all the different beers they brew. The tasting was a highlight with an option of Obatzda or Weisswurst and Pretzel to pair with the beers. I managed to sample at least three of the beers and they were all as delicious as the next. The only downside to my experience was the slightly hard to reach location of the brewery. We were coming from the Therme Erding and there was no easy route. Of course this is not the brewery's fault so it's still a 5 star review! Thank you Erdinger Brewery for such an amazing tour!

Eva was an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable about the brewing process. Make sure you tip them at the end- they work so hard and do a great job!

Booked a tour for a Saturday at 14. Their shop with merch closes at 13. How is that possible? The signage for meeting points etc. are bad and the ticket confirmation mail is only in German. Bad tourist experience. I actually also signed up for their free membership, where you get send a physical €5 voicher sent to your foreign home add, that only works in the shop. The voucher doesn't work online and, naturally, not in a closed shop.

HIGHLY recommend this tour. We came to Erding for our wedding and a bunch of our guests joined us for this tour. It was a great group activity. This was a highlight of our week! I have been to other breweries and have done other tours around the world but this was hands down my favourite one! The hospitality was wonderful. We started off with a beer and ended with multiple beers. (Full glasses, not just shot glasses). All the beer options were so good! We also received food; sausages and pretzels with the most amazing mustard. We didn't even need to go out for dinner after. The tour was very informative, with lots of walking and stairs which is good for me who likes to be active on trips. I would definitely come back! This is a MUST DO if you like beer and are in Erding. We are forever a Erdinger family now.

The English tour sold out, so we were on German tour. Still great. They have made some changes. The tour is no longer free for Fanclub members. It's 10€. But you do get a souvenir glass. Informative tour. Great reception after.

The Deutsches Museum is an absolute must-visit in Munich! 🚀 A huge variety of fascinating exhibits, from historic machines to an incredible aviation collection. Many interactive displays you can actually touch and try, which makes it fun for both kids and adults. Inspiring, educational, and exciting — you can easily spend the whole day here without getting bored. Highly recommended! 👏

There was a lot of exhibits to see and it was nice to have listening stations throughout For English as well. There were some hands on experiences, I was hoping for some more and looking for something a bit more interactive. There was a very wide variety of things to see throughout a journey through history. Overall a nice experience.
Kristen A — Google review
It's a vast general museum, encompassing everything not covered in the art and antique museums. Currently half of it is under renovation, but the open part is big enough to keep you busy for a long time. I focused mainly on the air and space aspect, nice collection of vintage and more modern planes, some of the very first rockets including a V2, and a very nice floor on spaceships. I also enjoyed the section on coding. I checked out photography, printing and musical instruments before my time ran out. It was a solid 3 hours. Overall it is good, not necessarily a must-see if you are first time visitor to Munich pressed on time.
Csaba C — Google review
A wonderful place to visit with children. The museum offers a great experience, and the restaurant–café on the roof is definitely worth a stop. The river view at sunset is stunning — the sunlight shimmering on the water creates a beautiful scene. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop on your way out for some nice souvenirs.

With its vast collection spanning aviation, engineering, physics, and even music instruments, the museum brilliantly bridges education and entertainment. The interactive exhibits—like the giant pendulum, working machinery demonstrations, and flight simulators—make complex concepts accessible and fun for visitors of all ages. The detailed historical displays, including early automobiles and replicas of famous scientific experiments, provide fascinating insights into humanity's technological progress. While the sheer size of the museum can be overwhelming, its well-organized sections and engaging presentations ensure an enriching visit. Whether you're a curious traveler or a dedicated science buff, the Deutsches Museum delivers both knowledge and inspiration in a truly immersive way.

They had everything there. From engines to aircrafts, nuclear physics to spacecrafts, electronics, medicinal technologies, old and new cameras, receent semiconductor technologies, bridges, pendulums, fighter jets, agriculture and husbandry & whatever your cup of tea is. It is a great museum with literally any type of science in it. It is definitely a must go and you would regret it if you didn't.

Deutsches Museum is not just an exhibit hall: it is a journey through how human curiosity, experimentation, and engineering have shaped the world. If you love science or tech—or want to challenge yourself to understand how many things work (from steam engines to quantum bits), this museum will reward you. Even if you’re only casually interested, the famous pieces (Z3, mining, astronomy, transport, etc.) are enough to make a visit memorable. Highly recommend it, and plan your time well. Bonus: Every Monday few free tickets are also offered. Don't forget to see the beautiful skyline of city with Isar river.

My wife and I found this amazing market by chance, we were just walking and exploring the city, then we found ourselves in the middle of this vivid place. Fruits, vegetables, poultry, flowers and many many more interesting things you can find here.

It’s a small area with a lot of different stores. There are souvenirs, fruits, food, beer, honey, and other things. There is an open sitting area in the middle is that square(?) and you can have some beer and snacks there. The price is very fair and quality is great. It’s worth visiting if you are in the city center.

It is a perfect stop for a quick snack, breakfast or lunch. We walked around, tasted a few things and enjoyed the lively vibe. St. Peter's Church is a historic landmark in Munich, dating back to the 12th century and known for its remarkable architecture. It houses the jeweled skeleton of St. Mundita and offers stunning city views from its tower. Situated in Munich's oldest square, Marienplatz, the church is surrounded by other notable buildings such as the Old City Hall and landmarks like Mariensaule and Fischbrunnen fountain.
Munich is a masterpiece of authentic architecture. Once you step into the downtown area, all you need to do is walk—every corner unveils a different era, a unique style, a story carved in stone. Wander freely, let the city guide you. Step into charming old buildings, grand halls, and cozy hidden gems. And whatever you do, don’t miss St. Peter’s Church. It’s a striking symbol of German craftsmanship, where towering statues and intricate details leave a lasting impression.
Sam I — Google review
St Peter is an impressive Catholic church in the center of Old Town. The building is usually open daily to tourists. They also have an observation deck at the top of the bell tower. The church is free to enter, and tower admission was only €5 when I visited. Tower tickets can be purchased at the base of the tower as walk-up only (no reservations accepted unless you want a night tour). Keep in mind there are 306 steps to the top of the tower, but the view is worth the climb. On your way up, you can see the massive bells. At the top, you get wonderful views of Marienplatz and all of Old Town. The church nave itself features ornate decoration with accents of pink and gold on white, making it a peaceful space of reflection. I highly recommend this for anyone interested in architecture, history, or great city views.
Mike M — Google review
Beautiful church on the inside. Free to enter for everyone. Just please, like any other church or similar structures, be respectful and observe silence. Bonus is a climb to the top of the bell tower which offers impressive views around Altmarkt including the Rathaus. The climb is steep and can be challenging but very doable, with a few stops to pause. It was not so tight like many old bell towers.
Roan — Google review
St. Peter’s Church is one of Munich’s most beautiful and historic landmarks; its elegant interior, detailed artwork, and peaceful atmosphere make it a wonderful place to pause and appreciate the city’s rich heritage. The combination of Gothic and Baroque elements gives the church a timeless charm that reflects Munich’s spiritual and cultural depth.

Stunning church in Munich. It is free to enter but costs to climb the tower. St. Peter is the oldest parish church in Munich. It dates back to the 8th to 12th century. It was originally built as a Romanesque church and later rebuilt in Gothic style. The architecture is just stunning as well as all the decoration inside the church. The high altar and sculptures are beautiful. The church has eight bells and four of them pre-date 1400. This is a must visit in Munich! We loved our visit.

Climbed 30mins of stairs for this giew with 5 euro ticket bought at entrance. Not regret, but i’d say if im 5 years old older there is no way i can do this. Stunning 360 view in munich and can hear the church bell sound. Nice! Worth it!

St. Peter’s Church in Munich—the city’s oldest parish church. Here’s what makes it special: ⛪ History & Background First mentioned in the 12th century, before Munich was officially founded in 1158. Dedicated to St. Peter, the patron saint of Munich. Rebuilt and renovated many times, as it was damaged by fires and WWII bombings. 🎨 Architecture & Art A mix of Gothic, Baroque, and Rococo styles due to centuries of rebuilding. Interior highlights include: A beautiful high altar with St. Peter’s figure. Rich frescoes and altars from the 17th–18th centuries. The Schrenk Altar (15th century), one of Munich’s artistic treasures. 🗼 The Tower (Alter Peter) The tower is the highlight—about 91 meters tall. You can climb over 300 steps to the top. Offers one of the best panoramic views of Munich: you see Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche domes, the Alps on clear days, and the whole city’s rooftops. 📍 Location Right next to Marienplatz, so you can easily combine it with Heilig-Geist-Kirche and Viktualienmarkt. ✨ Tip: Go up just before sunset—the view with golden light over Munich’s red rooftops is breathtaking.

The New Town Hall, located at the heart of Munich's historic center in Marienplatz, is a stunning neo-Gothic building with a towering spire offering panoramic city views. The iconic Glockenspiel housed within the town hall comes to life daily with moving figurines and chimes, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of Marienplatz.
Exceptionally beautiful Gothic style building in the heart of Munich. Every year in May they open up to visitors (or you can go on a guided tour). Highly recommend as the inside is fantastic. Stained glass throughout, beautiful library, and fun architecture all around.

City Hall (Rathaus) is an impressive neo-gothic building in the heart of Old Town. The facade is most famous for the glockenspiel, which sings and dances every day at 11:00 and 12:00 (and 17:00 in the summer). The inner courtyard is open to the public and features a restaurant and public restrooms. Guided tours of the inside are available. I was allowed to free roam inside, but I think that might only happen in May. There is also an observation deck at the top of the tower. The interior is an intriguing maze of stairs, corridors, and stained glass. The inside is worth a visit for the architecture alone.
Mike M — Google review
Munich’s New Town Hall dominates Marienplatz with its dramatic neo-Gothic façade, soaring tower, and wealth of detail that makes you want to stare up until your neck protests. Built between 1867 and 1909 by architect Georg von Hauberrisser, it replaced the cramped Old Town Hall and quickly became the city’s political and symbolic heart. The 85-meter tower is home to the famous Glockenspiel, which still draws crowds daily to watch figures reenact 16th-century Bavarian stories. The exterior is packed with statues, floral balconies, and spires that look medieval but are purely 19th-century romanticism. Inside, the building still houses the city government, but visitors can ride the elevator up the tower for sweeping views across Munich. During WWII, much of the city center was destroyed, yet the Neues Rathaus was repaired and restored, preserving its role as a backdrop for everything from Christmas markets to championship celebrations for FC Bayern.

The town hall has so many cute stores to checkout and a pretty good scenery in any direction you walk! The designs on the buildings are so unique and give that vintage and regal look to the area. If you’re in München, definitely check this cute area out

⭐ New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus), Munich A Neo-Gothic icon at Marienplatz that’s more than government HQ—it’s the heartbeat of Munich! Spanning nearly 100 m, crowned by an 85 m tower, its ornate façade and Gothic spires make it a city landmark. Every day the Glockenspiel enacts historic tales at 11 AM, 12 PM (plus 5 PM in summer), with charming figures, 43 bells, and a chirping rooster. Hop the lift to the viewing gallery for sweeping city views. Inside, the Law Library dazzles with gilded staircases, and guided tours unlock grand chambers. During celebrations, FC Bayern stars appear on the balcony, and the cozy Ratskeller awaits below. #Munich #NeuesRathaus #Glockenspiel #Panorama #History

The city center of Munich is an absolutely stunning and lively area centered around the famed Marienplatz. Dominated by the magnificent Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall), a Neo-Gothic architectural gem, the square's highlight is the famous Glockenspiel, which draws crowds daily to watch its mechanical figures perform. The area is a fantastic blend of history and modern life, with the towering Frauenkirche (Cathedral) just a short walk away, alongside the bustling Viktualienmarkt and the start of the main pedestrian shopping zones (like Kaufingerstraße). Online ticketing is very convenient. Large bags need to be stored before entry. With your ticket, you can get a free audio guide, which makes it especially interesting to listen to explanations in your own language. The narration is very detailed, covering the historical stories of the time. I highly recommend visiting if you’re interested in history, culture, or artifacts. If you listen to every section of the audio guide, you could easily spend half a day there. The entire palace is huge, so make sure to allow plenty of time for a relaxed visit.

With your ticket, you get access to a free audio guide, which adds a lot of value, especially since you can listen to detailed explanations in your preferred language. The narration is thorough and offers deep insights into the historical context of the artifacts. If you’re into history, culture, or antiques, I highly recommend a visit. If you take the time to listen to all the sections of the audio guide, you could easily spend several hours there. The palace is vast, so be sure to allocate enough time for a relaxed and thorough visit.

Bought tickets online ahead of time which proved helpful! There is an audio guide that they provide but there are SO MANY rooms and the audio guide talks for so long—we eventually abandoned. That said, the Residence is MASSIVE and so so many of the rooms are available for viewing. Incredibly lavish and opulent. We really enjoyed! Side note, they are very serious about not letting people in after an hour before closing. We saw a lot of people turned away and lectured as we were leaving! Plan accordingly!

Allianz Arena, home to Bayern Munich, is a renowned football stadium and one of the most impressive athletic venues globally. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, its unique architecture features 2,784 ETFE plastic panels that give it a distinctive appearance resembling an inflatable cushion with translucent air pockets. What sets it apart is its luminous exterior that changes color based on the team playing: red for Bayern, blue for TSV 1860, and white for Germany.
An iconic stadium and a must-see for football fans! ⚽ The design is incredible especially when it’s lit up at night. The area is clean and well-organized, with easy access by metro. Even if there’s no match, the tour and museum are definitely worth it.

The FC Bayern stadium (Allianz Arena) has a very high capacity. The exterior design is modern and can change color at night. It houses both a Museum and an FC Bayern Store. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to join the Arena Tour, which is a real shame. The downside of this stadium is that there are very few nice photo spots outside, apart from taking pictures with the stadium itself, and if you come by U-Bahn, it's a very long and exhausting walk.

Wonderful arena and an amazing experience. My dad received a VIP tour and museum tickets for his 59th birthday. We were guided around the stadium and even taken to exclusive areas like the locker room and the tunnel where the players walk out before the match. The museum has absolutely everything, and the layout is beautifully done. I was also pleasantly surprised that the stadium shop is not overpriced at all. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. Even though I’m not a football fan myself, we went because of my father, and I actually felt sad to leave because I enjoyed it so much. Go Bayern München! 🫶🏻❤️⚽️

Bayern Munich's stadium is located 12 minutes from the city center by metro. The fans are the heart of the club, arriving early and enjoying the experience of a cold beer. The stadium's sound system is very high quality. I had a lot of fun watching and participating in the victory over FC Freiburg. Unsere FC Bayern Munchen gewinn mit 6 : 2, stadion was almost full 75 000 person was realy enjoyed this football atmosphere. Mia San Mia. 🥳🍀⚽🙏🇩🇪🏆

The group tour is great. To get to see all the history behind such a big club was a great experience. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit again whit the hopes of seeing a match. Overall it was cool and the best part is that I didn’t have to sell kidney to take the tour, it was really affordable. Definitely recommend checking it out.

We booked the English speaking tour with Franz, and he was very informative and engaging. There was plenty of Oporto take photos, and you could visit the change rooms, sit in the stands and on the substitutes bench. Afterwards we visited the museum which was very interactive. You could take a photo of yourself and have it appear on a scrolling wall of photos, and there was also the opportunity to take a photo with your favourite players. There are things for kids to do, such as building their own trophy with blocks, as well as a stadium with Lego. There is a small futsal pitch for them to play on, as well as climbing equipment. It’s definitely worth the visit for the whole family.

The wonderful place to visit. I highly recommend to join the guide tour because you can experience a very special introduction in the court. The one thing is, you can understand the space of stadium and also you can learn the history of the stadium.

Great stadium, truly impressive from the moment you walk in. The shop is huge, well-stocked, and full of cool merch for every type of fan. The museum is surprisingly rich with history, displaying iconic moments, trophies, and even a small cinema where you can sit and enjoy a short film about the club’s journey. The stadium tour itself is well-organized, informative, and gives you access to some amazing angles you don’t normally get to see. Staff throughout the entire experience were warm, helpful, and very professional. Highly recommended if you’re a football fan or simply appreciate great sporting culture and storytelling.
