It was my first and last trip to this place—with someone I deeply cared about. We were already having problems in our relationship. She only wanted to meet here, but I convinced her to meet in Bataan the day before. That day felt perfect, like maybe things were going to turn around. The place was beautiful—peaceful, romantic, almost like a small town in Spain. It gave this quiet illusion that things could be okay again. Maybe that’s part of its magic. I can see families or friends truly enjoying it here. We had a romantic full-course dinner and a lovely buffet breakfast the next morning. Everything was well thought-out and charming. For others, it’s definitely a place worth visiting. But for me, it’s now a memory that carries both warmth and sadness. A beautiful place I’m grateful to have seen—just not sure I can ever return.

A second world war memorial dedicated to all brave souls who fought against the invading Japanese army. The place is clean and organized but the cross is off limits now. The view is awesome the 360 of the surroundings is really nice specially the Manila bay. Parking space is not a problem. Toilets area clean and accessible.

I visited this beach when I was stationed here when the US Navy still had a base here. I must say the Filipinos have seriously upgraded the place. Your entrance fee is 700 pesos a person, and that grants you access to your own cabana and all the floating toys and things. Also included is being towed by jetski on various inflated riding toys. There jet ski rentals here as well.

Brae was awesome both times we came here. She gave delicious recommendations, was incredibly attentive, very friendly, and courteous as well. She remembered a food allergy from when we came a few weeks ago, and obviously pays good attention to detail. Even if the food was bad (which it was not, the food is delicious), we would come back for the outstanding service!

(Back in March-2023) We had such a wonderful time at Amana Waterpark in Pandi, Bulacan! The place is huge and well-maintained, with so many pools to choose from. The wave pool was definitely the highlight....it felt like being at the beach but even more exciting. What made it more enjoyable was the variety of themed pools and the life-sized characters around the park, which made it fun for both kids and adults to take photos. The cottages were comfortable, and the whole environment was family-friendly and safe, with lifeguards always on duty. The staff were accommodating, the facilities were clean, and the rules were well-implemented to keep the place organised. It’s also very accessible from Metro Manila, which makes it a great quick getaway. Overall, Amana Waterpark gave us an unforgettable and refreshing experience. Highly recommended for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to enjoy a fun and relaxing swimming adventure! 🌊💦

it was an amazing experience to see the beautiful disaster, even with the gloomy weather. for beginners, this was an easier trek (compared to the usual ones I’ve done). just be sure to stretch before you start, load up, wear the right gear, and bring tons of fluids to keep yourself hydrated. when we visited Mt. Pinatubo, the weather was unpredictable. we begin with a sunrise, then it poured. the good thing was, the path wasn't muddy, but some rocks were too slippery to step on, but the best thing was, my trusted hiking sandals didn't disappoint so I conquered those rocks with ease. we also prepared loot bags for the Aetas that contain snacks and candies. these were given away while we trekked. the 4x4 ride, which I thought would be quick, was surprisingly long; you could even nap during the trip! thankfully, ours had a hood cover, so no sand in our hair, and we rested comfortably both ways. I also bought a bamboo stick from the Aetas for 15 PHP because I didn't have a hiking rod. it served its purpose, nonetheless. we had one stop before we reached the actual start of the trek, and along the way, several vendors, sell grilled hotdogs, bottled drinks, and street food. when we reached the peak, there was no clearing, so we waited a bit for the skies to clear up. we also climbed down the stairs to be closer to the lake and have a tight view of Mt. Pinatubo. honestly, those stairs were more challenging and tiring than the actual trek itself, but fulfilling and meaningful. we wanted to stay longer, but the weekend crowd made it tough to enjoy the view, especially with the unpredictable weather. still, seeing the beautiful disaster up close, with the right people, made it all worth it.

The atmosphere is generally pleasant, with clean walkways, well-maintained facilities, and a secure environment. One of the mall’s biggest strengths is its diverse food selection. There are plenty of restaurants and snack shops catering to different tastes, from fast food to sit-down dining experiences. However, while most restaurants meet quality expectations, there are a few that fall short, particularly in terms of menu variety and ingredient quality. One noticeable issue is the lack of alternatives for those with dietary restrictions as I have. Some restaurants do not offer substitutions, which can be disappointing for customers who cannot eat certain ingredients, such as corn. Corn can be a health risk for some. In these cases, it may feel like a portion of the meal is wasted and there are no substations which affects the overall dining experience. On the positive side, the mall provides a convenient and enjoyable shopping and dining experience. For those who appreciate fresh, well-prepared food, some establishments stand out for their quality and service. As I continue to explore different restaurants within SM City and beyond, I will share more detailed reviews on individual dining experiences, including both highlights and areas for improvement. Overall, SM City is a solid choice for shopping and entertainment, with some room for improvement in specific dining options. It remains a good destination for those looking for a mix of leisure and convenience.

We visited Airforce City during our granddaughter's school field trip. Old airplanes were on display. It was an educational experience for them. The place is large with ample playing area for the children.

Monasterio de Tarlac offers not only a place for prayer and reflection but also breathtaking views of the mountains and surrounding landscapes. The highlight is the large statue of Jesus, which is truly awe-inspiring. There’s also a chapel where you can attend mass or spend quiet time in prayer. The atmosphere is serene—perfect for those seeking peace and a break from the busy city life. If you visit on a Saturday and attend the 10:30 AM mass, you may have the chance to touch or be blessed by the relic of the True Cross—a truly moving and humbling experience. The area is clean and well-maintained, with ample parking space. There are also a few stalls where you can buy food, souvenirs, and religious items. The drive up is smooth, and the road is in good condition. Whether you’re visiting for religious reasons or simply to enjoy nature and the view, Monasterio de Tarlac is definitely worth the trip.

Went here on my birthday. There's a 6AM mass. Gates open at 4AM and you can access the candle lighting area. There's candle there that you can get for any amount of donation. You may want to ask multiple shops when buying religious articles as some offer lower cost especially when you are the first customer.

All the islands we went to had white sand, some even finer than then others. Lots of activities at Quezon Island (zipline, banana boat, etc). The locals are nice as well! Be careful of the jellyfishes esp at Marcos Island. They sting! We had the best time at Scout Island as it is not very crowded. By lunchtime, only 2 groups were left in the island so we had a quiet beach.

One of the best museums I've been to and perhaps the best museum in the Cordillera Region. The place is also trendy and usually a lot of visitors on weekends. It has a cafe at the lower ground level adjacent to a beautiful garden.

Burnham Park is the vibrant heart of Baguio, offering a lively park experience from day till night. By day, the atmosphere can be peaceful and tranquil, perfect for a relaxing escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The iconic man-made lake at the center of the park is a major draw, where visitors can enjoy leisurely boat rides in rowboats or swan-shaped paddle boats. I think most of the boats cost 200 pesos for 30 minutes. Even if you're going solo or with a group, it's fun to row around the lake. Beyond the lake, the park buzzes with life. You can rent bicycles of all kinds, from single bikes to tandem bikes, and pedal along the designated paths. The open spaces are ideal for a picnic, jogging, or simply strolling through the beautiful Rose Garden and other landscaped areas. At night, the park’s ambiance transforms. A portion of Harrison Road, adjacent to the park, closes to traffic and becomes the famous Baguio Night Market. The area fills with stalls selling a vast assortment of goods, from thrifted clothes and souvenirs to local handicrafts. It's a bustling hub for bargain hunters. The air also fills with the delicious aromas of various street foods, making the night market a must-visit for a lively culinary adventure. The park's dynamic nature ensures there's something to enjoy from morning till late evening.

It’s a must-visit spot for first-time tourists, especially for photo opportunities and souvenir shopping. Though often crowded, the scenic beauty and cultural vibe make the visit worthwhile. Just be prepared for some walking and expect cooler weather. in search of new "ganap" and a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of the city strolling, wandering and more of walking found myself here at Ma-Cho Temple, Elyu built in 1975, a Taoist temple which honors Mazu, the Chinese sea goddess known as the protector of fishermen and sailors met the Eighteen Arhats wandered through the Pagoda; and took a quiet tour of the Bamboo Garden the peaceful surroundings, gentle winds, and sweeping views reminded me to pause, breathe, and find more beauty to appreciate here’s to more days like this and more places to discover.

One of the best spots in Luna, La union to visit. If you have spare time and an art lover, you can visit this place anytime from 8am to 5pm daily. Entrance fee is around 30pesos. The owner of this place is Mr. Kim. He has several paintings and stone art work to check. There are also several 3D paintings inside the Gallery.

Have you ever done spelunking before? If not, then this should be an easy yes decision if your physicality permits. The cave is deep and dark (as they should), and our guide is deeply knowledgeable and funny, which made the experience even better. There are quite a few rock formations, from a queen’s vagina to elephants, crocodiles, and turtles. Expect to get wet and dirty, and there will instances where it will be slippery. But trust the process. I further recommend to go as deep as you can, especially the tunnel portion to get the full experience. Go there early to avoid the crowd. 7am - 8am is a good time, right after breakfast. It takes around 2 hours, so you will still have the rest of the day ahead. Peep the coffins at the cave’s entrance!

Baluarte Zoo is a fun stop in Vigan, especially if you're traveling with family or kids! I’ve been here a few times, and it’s always interesting to see the animals up close—especially the giraffes, zebras, and camels. You can even feed some of them, which makes the experience really memorable. They also have animal shows, a butterfly garden, and the Safari Gallery, which is quite unique—though some might find the taxidermy displays a bit unsettling. I also appreciated the fact that entrance is free, and there are optional activities you can pay for if you want to try more. What I love most is how interactive it is—perfect for quick photos, light fun, and a relaxing side trip from the city center. However, I hope they continue improving the enclosures and cleanliness of the facilities, especially the restrooms. Overall, it’s worth a visit when you’re in Vigan. It's a mix of fun, nature, and learning—just manage your expectations, especially if you're used to larger or more modern zoos.

The moment you step into Calle Crisologo, it feels like you’ve been transported to medieval Spain. This is the iconic spot in Vigan! Packed with tourists, horse-drawn carriages, and shops—it’s a joy just to walk around. If you’re hoping to take photos without crowds, come early in the morning. But honestly, the lively atmosphere with people in the background also makes for beautiful shots.

Visiting Plaza Salcedo was one of the highlights of our family to Vigan! The dancing fountain show is absolutely magical — a vibrant mix of colorful lights, synchronized water jets, and uplifting music. The show is free and usually starts around 7:00 PM, so it's a great way to unwind after a day of exploring the historic city. But come a bit early to get a good spot near the fountain during weekends.

My recent visit to Bantay, Vigan City, Ilocos Region, Philippines was an absolute delight and a definite highlight of my travels! The iconic Bantay Bell Tower is truly impressive. The weathered brick and commanding presence offer a wonderful glimpse into the past, making it a fantastic spot for photos and providing a strong sense of historical grandeur. The view from the top (or even just looking up at it) is captivating, and it's easy to imagine its long history overlooking the area. Directly adjacent to the bell tower, the St. Augustine Parish Church is stunning. The interior is richly decorated, particularly the altar, which is a true work of art. The atmosphere inside is very peaceful and reverent, making it a great place for quiet reflection and to appreciate religious artistry. It's a beautiful example of well-preserved Filipino religious architecture. The area around the bell tower and church is well-maintained with green spaces, inviting paths, and even some friendly local goats roaming around! This adds a unique, laid-back charm to the historical sites. Finding the "I ❤️ Bantay" sign was a fun photo opportunity, perfectly capturing the spirit of the visit. Overall, Bantay offers a beautiful blend of history, culture, and natural charm. It's clear that this is a place steeped in tradition, and the preservation of its landmarks is commendable. As someone who appreciates history and unique experiences, I found Bantay to be incredibly rewarding. It's a must-visit when you're in the Vigan City area. The locals are welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is very pleasant, making it a highly recommended addition to your itinerary for a memorable Philippine experience!

Paoay Church (St. Augustine Church) – Ilocos Norte Visiting Paoay Church last April was a dream come true. Standing before this magnificent structure was both breathtaking and deeply fulfilling. It’s not just one of the best churches I’ve been to—it’s a national treasure that lives up to every expectation. Known officially as the Church of Saint Augustine, Paoay Church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of Earthquake Baroque architecture. Construction began in 1694 and was completed in 1710. Its massive, tapering buttresses—some more than a meter thick—were designed to help the church withstand earthquakes, making it both an architectural and engineering marvel of its time. The exterior is dramatic and fortress-like, drawing you in with its centuries-old charm. Inside, the atmosphere is more austere and peaceful, reflecting the simplicity and spirituality of Augustinian design. Many historical artifacts and preserved details from the Spanish colonial era can be seen, making it feel like you’re walking through a living museum of faith and history. One small downside is the parking situation—we had some difficulty finding a proper spot for the van we rented, especially with the limited maneuvering space around the church. If you’re traveling in a larger vehicle, it’s best to arrive early or prepare for a bit of patience. Still, the awe-inspiring presence of the church easily overshadows any minor inconvenience. From its rich heritage to the feeling of reverence it evokes, Paoay Church is more than just a destination—it’s an experience deeply rooted in Filipino identity and devotion.

Another overdue review! I visited Ilocos in November last year, and one of the places I got to see was the Bangui Windmills. It was a bit far—I had to drive a couple of hours from Vigan City to get there—but it was definitely worth the trip. The view was amazing! Seeing the windmills lined up along the beach was such a cool and unforgettable sight. The wind was strong, the air was fresh, and the sound of the waves made the place feel peaceful. It’s a great spot for photos, relaxing, and just enjoying nature. There are also some locals selling souvenirs here for a good price.
