The temple is closely linked to the spiritual legacy of the region, which has been a pilgrimage hub since antiquity. Its proximity to the Jyotirlinga at Somnath Temple and the revered Ban Ganga underscores its role in the broader network of sacred sites associated with Lord Shiva and Krishna. Historically, it served as a refuge for pilgrims seeking blessings to overcome personal trials, reflecting Shiva’s timeless relevance in Hindu worship. Its strict no-photography rule preserves the sanctity of rituals, a tradition that honors its spiritual ethos.

Somnath Temple, located in Gujarat, is a revered Chalukya-style temple and is believed to be the first among the 12 jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. The town surrounding the temple is steeped in mythology and religion, offering a spiritual environment with numerous other temples, beaches, museums, and attractions. Despite its tumultuous history of depredations and destructions, this indestructible temple stands firm on the western coast of India.
The New Somnath Temple is an architectural marvel and holds immense spiritual importance as it is considered the first among the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Located right beside the Arabian Sea, the temple offers a breathtaking view and a serene atmosphere that instantly brings peace to the mind. During festival seasons, the temple attracts a massive crowd, so it’s best to plan your visit on weekdays or during the off-season for a more comfortable experience. Security checks are very strict here, and visitors are required to deposit their mobile phones and wallets in the lockers available outside. There are plenty of shoe houses to keep your footwear safely. The temple complex is beautifully maintained, and the recently developed sea corridor is a wonderful addition you can take a peaceful walk along it or even hire a cycle to enjoy the scenic coastal view. Overall, it’s a divine and well-organized place that every devotee must visit at least once.

Har Har Mahadev...🙏 What an absolutely mesmerizing experience! Somnath Temple isn't just a place of worship—it's a living testament to India's ancient heritage and unyielding spirit. Perched on the shores of the Arabian Sea, this iconic Jyotirlinga shrine radiates an aura of divine serenity and architectural grandeur that leaves you spellbound from the moment you arrive. The temple's white marble facade gleams under the sun, with intricate carvings that tell stories of devotion and resilience. Rebuilt multiple times after historical invasions, it stands tall as a symbol of rebirth—truly inspiring. As I stepped inside during the evening aarti, the rhythmic chants, flickering lamps, and the distant crash of waves created a symphony that touched the soul. The energy here is palpable; it's like time stands still, connecting you to centuries of pilgrims who walked these paths before. Practical perks: Easy access with ample parking, clean facilities, and guided tours available. Don't miss the sound-and-light show at night—it's magical! Whether you're a devotee seeking blessings or a traveler chasing history, Somnath delivers pure bliss. Highly recommend; it's a must-visit that deserves every star and more. Jai Somnath! 🙏

Somnath Temple is a divine and peaceful place filled with spiritual energy. The architecture is stunning, and the sea beside the temple makes the atmosphere even more serene. The evening aarti is a truly mesmerizing experience and not to be missed. However, it can get quite crowded, especially during weekends and festivals so it’s best to visit early in the morning. Phones, bags, and other belongings are not allowed inside and must be kept in the locker area. Only a small purse or wallet is permitted. The management and cleanliness are excellent, making it a must-visit for every devotee and traveler.

Visited Somnath Temple on a weekday afternoon, and despite the strong sun and long travel, the experience was absolutely worth it. The approach to the temple is very organised. Parking is available around five minutes from the entrance, and the temple provides free counters to deposit bags and cameras separately, which is convenient and secure. Phones are not allowed inside the main temple area, so visitors should be prepared for that. After the security screening (with separate lines for men and women), there are dedicated golf carts available for senior citizens or anyone who needs assistance, which is very helpful because the temple is around 800–900 metres from the screening point. Washrooms are inside the premises, so it’s best to freshen up after crossing the security check. The moment you enter the temple complex, the atmosphere changes completely. The place feels calm, powerful, and spiritually uplifting. Sitting inside for a few minutes, listening to chants and feeling the breeze from the Arabian Sea, is a beautiful experience. The temple itself is grand, very well maintained, and located right on the seashore, making it one of the most scenic temple visits one can have. It’s good to spend some time walking around the temple surroundings. After returning, all deposited items were handed back safely, which reflects good management. Coming again for the evening Aarti is highly recommended. Arriving around 6:15–6:30 PM gives enough time to witness the stunning sunset over the Arabian Sea before the Aarti begins at 7 PM. The temple looks spectacular with its evening lighting. Since personal phones are not allowed inside, the temple has official photographers who can take pictures and provide either printed copies or send high-quality images on WhatsApp for ₹100–₹200. This is helpful for anyone who wants a memory from inside. Security at the temple is tight but smooth for visitors, and even with a rush during Aarti, everything is well coordinated. For photos of the temple from outside, the nearby road along the boundary gives great angles with the sea in the background.

Somnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India, is located on the beautiful western coast of Gujarat. The temple is truly magnificent, and the Shiva Lingam here is one of the largest I have ever seen. The darshan was an amazing and deeply spiritual experience — truly something to cherish once in a lifetime. The temple surroundings are very well maintained. Visiting in the evening is highly recommended to enjoy the spectacular light and sound show, which starts at 7:45 PM inside the temple. Tickets can be purchased from within the temple premises. Please note that no electronic items are allowed inside, but free slipper and bag counters are available for convenience. It’s best to avoid weekends and festival days, as the rush can be very heavy. A must-visit place to seek the blessings of Mahadev with your family or loved ones.

A beautiful and relaxing spot right next to the Somnath Temple. Somnath Beach offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea, especially during sunrise and sunset. The sound of the waves and the cool breeze create a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding after a temple visit. While swimming is not allowed that time due to strong currents, it’s a great place for a walk, photography, or just sitting and soaking in the natural beauty. The beach is generally clean and has food stalls nearby for snacks. A perfect blend of spirituality and nature—don’t miss it if you’re visiting Somnath!

Beach is good but public awareness is much needed. You will be able to see plastic garbage scattered on the beach. Public throws the food wrappers and garbage on the beach. The sea is risky so don't try to bath here. Each year many people sinks in this sea and lost their leaves. There are many food and coconut stalls on the beach. You will be able to have a camel or horse riding on the beach.

If you are in Somnath, the Ram Mandir is a must-visit spiritual spot located conveniently on the way to the Somnath Temple. Most auto drivers include this temple in their combo sightseeing package usually right after visiting Triveni Sangam. The temple premises are serene and beautifully maintained. Along with the main shrine of Lord Ram, you’ll also find temples dedicated to Lord Ganesh and Lord Hanuman within the same premises. One unique highlight here is the display of various Lord Ganesh idols placed on a shelf inside the temple these were gifted by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, making the visit even more special. Devotees can also sit peacefully and write the name of Lord Ram in the holy books available inside. Before leaving, don’t miss buying the delicious Rava Ladoo Prasad priced at ₹80 for two pieces packed in a container it’s absolutely worth it. Overall, the Ram Mandir offers a peaceful and divine atmosphere, making it a must-visit stop during your Somnath trip.

Mandir in Somnath: * Location: It's situated near the Triveni Sangam Ghat, close to the main Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple. This makes it easily accessible for pilgrims visiting the confluence and the Shiva temple. * Construction: The Shri Ram Mandir was built by the Shree Somnath Trust in 2017. This makes it a relatively newer addition to the array of temples in Somnath. * Deities: The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, and its sanctum features artistic idols of Lord Rama, Sita Devi, and Lord Lakshmana. There are also smaller shrines dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Lord Ganesh beside the main sanctum. All the idols are made of marble. * Architecture: The temple is built from Bansi Pahanpul pink stone and has two floors. Its gate is uniquely shaped like Lord Rama's Dhanushya (bow). * Features: * The ground floor houses an auditorium and a kirtan hall. * There's also a theater with seating for 260-280 people, where the life of Shri Ram is presented on a large screen. * From the balcony of the temple, one can get glimpses of the Somnath temple, the Somnath coast, Triveni Sangam, the Sun temple, and the Gita Mandir. * Within the same complex, you can also find the Shri Parshuram Temple, with a black idol of Parshuram holding an axe, flanked by Kama and Kala. Other shrines to Ganesh, Hanuman, and Maa Renuka are also present. * Spiritual Activities: Devotees visit for prayers, participate in bhajans, and engage in "Ram Naam" writing in special notebooks. The Somnath Temple Trust has actively promoted "Ram Naam Mantra Lekhan Yagna" campaigns, with devotees writing the name of Lord Ram, and a significant number of these inscribed "pothis" (notebooks) have even been sent to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. * Timings: The temple is generally open from 6 AM to 7 PM (or sometimes 9 PM)

Shri Ram Mandir is dedicated to Lord Rama. The temple was built by Shree Somnath Trust in 2017. The temple is graceful and the sanctum has artistic idols of Lord Rama, Sita Devi and Lord Lakshmana. This is a must visit place during the visit of Somnath.

This Ram temple is in Somnath. The architecture of this temple is very beautiful. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ram.So definitely visit this place because there are idols of many gods here and you can see many very lovely idols of Ganesha. This is very close to Somnath temple and is also very close to the Triveni Sangam of many temples. The balcony of the temple provides a stunning view of the Somnath Temple, the ocean, Triveni Sangam, Parshuram Temple, Sun Temple, and Gita Mandir. The excellent layout and infrastructure also include an auditorium, a kirtan hall, and a theatre with a seating capacity for 200+, ensuring a holistic devotional ambience.

Triveni Sangam Atithigruh is a guest house located near the Triveni Ghat and Bhalika Tirth, making it convenient for visitors to explore these sacred sites. The guest house offers comfortable rooms within walking distance of various attractions. However, some guests have noted issues with bathroom maintenance and hot water availability, so it's advisable to inquire about these amenities before booking during colder months. The Triveni Sangam itself holds great religious significance for Hindu rituals after death.
Triveni Sangam in Somnath is a sacred spot where three holy rivers Hiran, Kapila, and the mystical Saraswati merge into the Arabian Sea. The peaceful waves, soft breeze, and spiritual atmosphere make it a perfect place for reflection and prayer. Many devotees take a holy dip here before visiting the Somnath temple. The Suraj Mandir (Sun Temple) is an ancient Hindu temple in Somnath, Gujarat, dedicated to the Sun God, located on the northern side of the Triveni Ghat. It is an important historical site near the Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple, known for its intricate architectural carvings of nature and animal figures. A key feature is the image of Surya, the Sun God, riding a chariot with seven horses above the main entrance, and within its premises is a small water body called the Surya Kund.

The Surya Temple, located very close to Pandav Gufa, is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Surya (the Sun God). The temple’s architecture is truly beautiful and reflects the elegance of traditional craftsmanship. It’s a peaceful place where you can offer prayers and take the blessings of Surya Dev. Just beside the temple, there is a kund (sacred pond), which adds to the temple’s spiritual charm. To get a closer view of the kund, you’ll need to climb down a few steps, though the water is not very clean. Despite that, the overall atmosphere is calm and divine, making it a nice spot to visit for those exploring the historical and religious sites around Somnath.

Temple is decorated all around with Shri Vishnu, Maa Lakshmi, Brahma Ji, Mata Sarasvati, Sita Mata and Maat Parvati, also sculptures with lion, elephants and other animals. There is a Surya Kund attached with the temple. Few steps far Mata Hinglaj blesses devotees in a narrow gufa. Five Pandava cave is just adjacent to Sun temple. If you are in Somnath, the Kamnath Mahadev Temple is definitely a must-visit spiritual site located about 1.5 km from the main Somnath Temple. It’s often included in the local auto sightseeing combo packages, and drivers usually bring you here after visiting Triveni Sangam, which is within walking distance. The temple is beautiful and peaceful. One of the unique attractions here is the cave (Gufa) situated inside the temple, which adds to its spiritual charm. You’ll also find a special setup with all twelve Jyotirlingas, allowing devotees to offer prayers to all in one place. The GIR LION safari Devariya was an unforgettable experience. The morning safari offered the best chance to spot the majestic Asiatic lions in their natural habitat. We were fortunate to see several prides lounging amidst the dry deciduous forests. Besides the lions, we also encountered other fascinating creatures like leopards, hyenas, deer, and even a playful fox. The dense vegetation and rugged terrain added to the thrill of the adventure. While the safari can be bumpy, the excitement of witnessing these magnificent animals in the wild makes it all worthwhile.

Not very great experience. Firstly, website to book tickets is quite confusing. What appears to be a official government site turned out to be an agent. Full payment was made online, however at the check in counter they were insisting for a partial payment. Only when the so called agent turned up everything got sorted. Counter service wasn't friendly and the guide wasn't very polite. Devalia Safari Park is a large fenced area where animals are kept. If you are lucky you could see lions. We were in the last morning slot so we only managed to see lions at a distance resting under the tree. To the best of my understanding there are 3 different safari parks in the Gir region. 1) Devalia 2) Gir 3) Ambardi If I have to visit again, I would give Devalia a miss and try the others.

Have gone to Devaliya park. Gir is closed during monsoon season. We started our journey from Junagadh and our auto driver took us through a nice village side road . Weather was good and cloudy. Map showed 1.5 hrs but road conditions are not good . It took us almost 2.5hrs . We had a online ticket done so didnt have to wait much in counter line. Though my ticket was for 4 to 4.30 i didnt have to wait and got seat at 3.15 wala bus. It was suppose to be a 30 mins ride in bus for which we paid 150 rs per person. For jeep u need to pay around 4k. We saw 4 lioness, peacock, leopard in captivity, black buck deer. It felt The trip ended as soon as it started . If u r taking the bus may be buy 2 to 3 slots over the day. The park has food area , super expensive souvenirs shops.

Gir Safari has it's own name in wild life safari. We my family i visited there, it was awesome. First, you don't need to book online tickets as it was available offline without any waiting period. Mode:-( Bus/Jeep) With my opinion Bus is much better than Jeep safari as AC is available in bus and cost in Bus per person was 190/- where Jeep safari price was 3,000/- approx. We choosed Bus. Because they ensured for 100% lion sighting and we saw. Food:- Food options are available inside it. Staff behaviour:- The driver assigned to us was a local of Sasan village. His behaviour was really good. We cooperated him and in return he allow us to watch more than the time limit. Really salute for good staff of Gujarat Tourism. Conclusion. Hard recommend place.

Rajendra P — Google review
This place has its own significance in the history of Hinduism. This is the very place where Lord Krishna, after being fatally wounded due to the arrow shot by hunter Jara, left his mortal body to proceed to his heavenly abode in Goloka. To depict the same, there is also an impression of Lord Krishna's Charan Paduka that is kept at the very center of the complex. Apart from this, there are multiple temples inside the complex itself. For example, the Gita Mandir has a beautiful statue of Lord Krishna, while the temple's pillars have the entire verses of The Holy Bhagwad Gita encored upon them. The Lakshmi Narayan Temple inside the complex houses the statues of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi while giving information about all the 24 avatars of the Lord, including their pictorial depictions and descriptions. The entire complex in itself being on the bank of the Hiran river, the surrounding area is stunning. There are also plenty of seagulls flying around, so be careful. However, the vast expanse of the land on the opposite side of the river and the lush green vegetation are soothing to watch. A must-visit place to feel the divinity and the burst of positive energy !!!

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled in the heart of Gujarat, Gir National Park is a breathtaking wildlife sanctuary that spans approximately 1,412 square kilometers. This park is famously known as the last bastion for the Asiatic lion, making it an essential destination for wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists alike. As you embark on a safari through this stunning landscape, you'll be greeted by early morning sunlight filtering through lush foliage while the sounds of nature surround you.
Visiting Gir National Park was an experience I’ll never forget. It’s the only place in the world where you can see Asiatic lions in the wild, and that in itself makes it incredibly special. The park is huge, with dry deciduous forests, grasslands, and water bodies that make it feel like a true wildlife kingdom. The safari is well organized. There are two main regions: the Devalia Safari Park (Interpretation Zone), which is the outer region, and the core/inner Gir forest area. Devalia is a shorter, budget-friendly option if you just want a quick chance to spot lions and other wildlife, while the core safari is longer and takes you deep inside the park for a real jungle experience. I’d suggest doing both if you have the time. The timings are usually early morning (around 6:00–9:00 am) and afternoon (around 3:00–6:00 pm), since that’s when animals are most active. Morning safaris are magical – the jungle looks fresh, the light is perfect, and chances of spotting lions are higher. Prices depend on the zone and vehicle type, but roughly expect ₹800–₹1000 for Devalia per person and ₹4500–₹6000 per jeep for the core area, excluding camera charges. It’s best to book online in advance as permits sell out quickly. During my visit, we were lucky to spot a lioness with her cubs, along with spotted deer, blue bulls, jackals, and lots of birds. The thrill of seeing a lion walking in its natural home is unmatched. Overall, Gir is a must-visit for any wildlife lover. It’s not just a safari, it’s witnessing nature in its raw, powerful form.

Peaceful Morning Amidst Nature ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved the early morning safari — the jungle atmosphere was calm, filled with the sound of birds and the rising sun over the forest. Even if you don’t spot a lion, the natural beauty and serenity make the visit worth it. Kudos to the forest department for maintaining the area so beautifully and ensuring eco-friendly practices. 🌿✨ --- 📸 4. Photographer’s Delight! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you love photography, Gir Safari is a paradise! The early light, dense forest, and animal activity make every moment picture-perfect. Spotted lions, sambar deer, blue bulls, and some rare birds — a perfect mix of thrill and tranquility. The staff was courteous and patient, allowing us enough time to capture some great shots! 📷🦁 --- 🦁 5. A Must-Do Experience in Gujarat ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gir Safari is one of the best-managed wildlife experiences in India. The entire process — from online booking, entry formalities, to the safari ride — was seamless. Our guide shared great insights about the wildlife and Gir’s conservation efforts. Seeing the Majestic Asiatic Lion in its natural habitat was truly a goosebump moment! 💛🌳

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gir National Park is a truly majestic place and a must-visit for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. The moment you enter the forest, you feel the fresh air, the peace, and the thrill of knowing this is the only natural home of the Asiatic lion in the world. The landscape is stunning with thick forests, rivers, and open grasslands that make the safari feel like a real adventure. Even though we did not get to see the lion during our visit, the entire experience was still amazing. We saw plenty of deer, peacocks, monkeys, wild boars, and many beautiful birds. Watching these animals in their natural habitat makes you appreciate how well the forest is protected. The guides and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, always explaining interesting facts about the wildlife and the history of Gir. I would strongly recommend taking the early morning safari. The forest looks magical during sunrise and the chances of spotting a lion are much higher. It is also less hot, so the animals move around more freely. We left with great memories and a strong desire to come back again, because seeing the King of the Jungle is still on our list! Gir National Park is a place that reminds you how important wildlife conservation is. Even if you are unlucky with sightings, the beauty of the nature itself makes the trip totally worth it. A solid 5 stars and definitely a destination everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.

Park has online and offline bookings for two types of gypsy safaris (max. 6-8 people) - a 3hr safari in Gir Sasan and 1 hr in Gir interpretation (Devaliya). There is also a safari in bus booking for 190 per person where lots of people travel together. This bus booking tour is of half n hour. The park doesn't operate full day. Mainly the timings are 6 am -11 am and then 3 pm - 6 pm. Thus there are 3 3hr safaris daily and close to 7-8 1hr safaris. We chose the 1 hr safari in Gir interpretation and shared our ride with 3 others. We saw lions, cheetah, peacock, black buck, Nil gaay, eagle, random birds, mongoose, deers. The staff says the best time to visit is early morning or late evening and there are close to 820 lions and 1200 cheetahs in the whole forest! Overall it was a good trip. Hoping to someday do the 3hr safari :)

Had an amazing experience at Gir Forest Safari! The moment we entered, we were lucky enough to spot two majestic lions almost instantly — such a thrilling and unforgettable sight! 🦁 After that, we also saw a leopard, many deer, monkeys, and beautiful birds all around. The forest is lush green, peaceful, and full of life. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helped us spot animals easily. Overall, it was an incredible adventure close to nature — a must-visit for every wildlife lover! 🌿🚙✨

It has online and offline bookings for two types of gypsy safaris (max. 6-8 people) - a 3hr safari in Gir Sasan. The park timings are 6 am -11 am and 3 pm - 6 pm. So total 3 slot per day and each safari of 3hr daily. No plastic is allowed. No water bottles allowed. There is a place where ur guide can buy water bottles which need to be returned back. Once a lifetime opportunity.. Go in morning 6-9 and evening 3-6 which is best possible time to see lion.

The Great preserved national park of asiatic lion.lions found only in India and Africa. The forest is about 1000 square km It is spread in four district of Gujarat . There is no tiger there the guide told us that the territory of lion tiger never exist because both are king of the forest .There are so many leopards. the territory of one line is about 40 square kilometres. Last 20 years number of lions increase from 600 to about 1000. In one territory two liones never leave together. When we saw two lions together the guide told us that their brothers and their age was about 10 to 12 years. After hunting deer or nilgai (blue colour cow) and eating about 25 kg of meat lion never eat for one weak. Dera robot 1000 lion 92000 deer and about70,000 nilgai. The forest is Savannah type forest having very tall grasses which we saw first time. For jungle safari always book your slot online. The total charges for 6 person of one Gypsy was about 4700Rs. The Safari starts from devaliya Park. But for Gypsy you have to go to Sasan head office of forest Department which is about 11 km from devaliya Park. Very thrilling experience. Booking of buses is available available in Devaliya park. There are two Safari one is about 1 hour anadar is about 3 hours in open jeep. We found leopards ,lions, dear nilgai in 1 hour Safari. Many people we meet not found lion, leopards in three hr Safari also bad luck. .

Vanakbara Beach is a spacious white-sand beach on the western end of Diu island, accessible through an arch near the Gomatimata temple. It's a favorite spot for anglers and offers a peaceful atmosphere with stunning sunset views. Children love playing in the cool waters, but it's important for parents to ensure their safety. The beach is more isolated but incredibly beautiful, featuring cleaner yet slightly fiercer waters compared to other beaches in Diu.

Beautiful untouched beach.. best time will be in evening, when you can see the majestic sunset. This will take you away from hustle and bustle of Nagoya beach , if you need some quiet time.

This one is a more isolated but very beautiful beach in Diu. The water is cleaner but slightly fiercer here than other Diu beaches. One problem: we went back n forth 2-3 kilometres many times but could not find its entrance. Finally had to leave the car anywhere on the roadside & jump the 2-3 feet fence & just enter from anywhere.

Second best beach in Diu after ghoghla. No one goes there so it's very beautiful and calm

It is an excellent beach at the western end of Diu island. Access to the shore is through an arch near the Gomatimata temple. A broad strip of soft white sand stretches over a considerable distance, and it is fun walking over that. Seagulls swarm the stretch. The birds throng to catch fishes jumping out of the dazzling water. Observing the action is amusing. The flock is not afraid of visitors. One can go close to the pack and capture their efforts.

This beach has always been in the development process and regularly cleaned by the worker ( women ) from diu itself. This place has parachute boat , speed boat etc. The place is not peaceful as what it seems but prople enjoy this place and click Photos, make videos. This place is worth seeing and roaming around.

Avoid it if your are driving a car and a tourist. Vanakbara beach before Hindu cremation place might be beautiful but there isn't a spot for parking your car on the entire road. Both sides of the road is paved and have blockers which prevents parking your car, big disappointment. Hence visited the Vanakbara beach at the Gomati mata temple which was ok but not that clean as expected. It seems to be mostly visited by locals and less of tourists. Can see many fishing boats there and beautiful sunset, nice place indeed for photographers.

Beaches
Nagva Beach is a hidden gem along the western coast, offering a peaceful and uncrowded escape from the usual tourist spots. Known for its natural beauty and clean surroundings, Nagva Beach is ideal for travelers looking to unwind in a quiet and scenic setting. The beach stretches with soft golden sand and is bordered by gentle waves, making it perfect for long walks, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the ocean breeze. Unlike commercialized beaches, Nagva maintains a raw, untouched charm. The water is generally calm and safe for swimming, and the lack of loud crowds or beachside vendors adds to its tranquil vibe. It’s an excellent place to bring a book, meditate, or just soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Early mornings and evenings are especially beautiful, with stunning sunrises and sunsets that paint the sky with brilliant colors. The beach is also popular among locals, which adds to its authentic and welcoming feel. There are limited facilities, so it’s a good idea to carry your own essentials. Still, nearby eateries offer simple yet tasty local snacks and drinks. If you’re seeking a serene and soulful beach experience, Nagva Beach is a destination that truly lets you connect with nature.

Its a decent beach overall, with good water and is clean as well. However I could not find it so attractive, apart from water sports and the length of the beach. The sand sometimes isn’t so friendly to sit beside it and chill. However during low tides, it is a good place to be at. You can easily spend an hour at the beach and an hour additional if you like water sports. It is also considered as a safe beach to take some bath in the sea. The road side shopping is a good attraction as well.

Nagoa Beach is Diu's premier coastal attraction, renowned for its scenic, horseshoe-shaped cove, soft golden sands, and abundant palm trees. One of the best beaches I have ever visited was truly remarkable. The soft, golden sand stretched for miles, inviting me to take long, leisurely strolls along the shoreline. The water was crystal clear, shimmering in shades of turquoise, and the gentle waves lapped at my feet with a soothing rhythm. What impressed me the most was how clean the beach was, with not a piece of litter in sight, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the breathtaking natural beauty all around.

Tulsishyam Mandir

Hindu temple
Nature & Parks
Tulsishyam Mandir is a revered Hindu temple nestled in the picturesque Gir Forest of Gujarat, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This spiritual haven boasts three rejuvenating hot mineral water pools known as Taptodak, which are steeped in ancient lore. According to legend, it was here that Lord Krishna vanquished the demon Tul, intertwining the site’s name with his own—hence Tulsishyam.
It's a ancient template and place of loard kriushna with lakes deep down also there is a mountain beside it to climb but one can not climb it over the evening due to fear of wild animals there is a temple of mataji over the mountain the place is good vibes and also good stating and food is been also good.
Pankaj K — Google review
Good Hindu Ancient Temple. Religious valuable place. We have visited Tulsishyam Springs many times but last we visited this when we had gone to Junagadh Gir Forest and on our way back we went to Tulsishyam springs again. This place is very famous for the hot springs in the state.Tulshi Shyaam is located on the Dhari-Una roadside in the Gir forest surroundings. This is a historical and also a peaceful place located amongst natural environment and in a small but dense forest. There are 3 hot water springs at the location with the 1st one filled with hot water, the second one filled with more hot water and the third water spring was having hot boiling water. The water is full of natural sulphur and saying goes if you take a deep full body in the water In the Indian Puranas these are refened to as 'Taptodak' .Legend says that Lord Krishna eliminated the demon called Tul and so the place is associated with his name along with that of Krishna as Shyam and is thus called Tulsishyam. You can also visit a 700 years old The Rukmani Devi Temple nearby Tulsi Shyaam. it has over 452 steps to temple so its difficult for elders.Private and state transport buses are available to reach here. If you want to stay overnight, you can stay in government guest house. Food is also available there. You should be in your room before 9 am and after 6 pm as its a forest and wild animals like lions etc roaming around. Tulsishyam Temple History The Tulsishyam Temple is located in the centre of Gir, 30 km from Una District. The Tulsishyam temple in the village of the same name is dedicated to Lord Vishnu or Lord Krishna. Located in the idyllic surroundings of the Sasan Gir reserve forest, Tulsishyam is about 30 km from Una. It is believed Lord Krishna killed a demon called Tul at this place. The temple is about seven hundred years old, but the enshrined Murti is said to be nearly 3,000 years old. The temple is on the top of a small hill, with 100 steps leading up to it. Tulsishyam Temple Hot Water Springs One interesting feature here is the hot springs. These are in three sections, with hot water at increasing temperatures. The third kund is at its boiling point. The Kunds are known as ‘Taptodak’. The waters are said to have curative properties. Adjacent to this hot water spring is the ancient Tulsi-Rukmini Temple. Devotees can visit Rukmani Devi Temple, located on a small hill with around 100 steps to climb opposite Tulsi Shyam Temple and Mahaprabhuji Bethak near the temple. Dharmashala and Bhojanalaya are available at Tulsi Shyam to facilitate devotees. Many times, lions and other wild animals are moving around this temple and on the road, so it is not advisable to drive during the night.

What & Why It’s Special Tulsishyam (also “Tulsi Shyam”) is a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu / Lord Krishna, located in the Gir forest region, on the border of Amreli / Gir Somnath districts. The idol inside is said to be ~3,000 years old, though the temple structure is younger (about 700 years old). One of the big attractions: there are hot sulphur springs (“Taptodak”) nearby, believed to have healing properties. It’s set in a scenic but forested area, so you get nature, wildlife ambience, and spiritual atmosphere all together. --- Best Time to Visit October to March is the most comfortable period — cooler weather, less rain, more pleasant for travel. Monsoon (June to September) gives nice greenery, but roads might be tougher and forest roads/visibility could be challenging. If you want lush surroundings, monsoon has its beauty. --- How to Reach Mode Details By road Tulsishyam is well connected by road. It is about 30-35 km from Una (Gir Somnath district) and about 45 km from Dhari in Amreli. By train Nearest railway station is Una. From there you’ll need road transport. By air Closest airports are Diu and Rajkot. From there, taxis or hired vehicles. --- Timings & Stay Temple is open roughly 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. There are dharmashalas / guesthouses available near the temple. Food / bhojanalaya + basic facilities are available.

Tulsi Shyam is truly a hidden gem! Nestled in the serene Gir forest, this ancient Vishnu temple radiates peace and spirituality. The natural hot water springs add a magical touch — bathing here feels both relaxing and healing. Walking through the forest, surrounded by greenery and the calm vibes, you feel your soul reconnect. Whether you seek spiritual solace, natural beauty, or simply a peaceful escape, Tulsi Shyam is an experience that stays with you forever

Nice one beach ⛱️ Cool atmosphere 😎 Nagoa Beach in Diu is widely considered its most famous and beautiful beach, offering a mix of natural beauty, water sports, and a relaxed atmosphere. Here is a comprehensive review of the beach based on traveler feedback: The Best of Nagoa Beach * Scenic Beauty and Ambiance: It's famous for its horseshoe or semi-circular shape, soft white sands, and the unique backdrop of Hoka palm trees (a species imported by the Portuguese). This setting creates a picturesque and exotic ambiance. * Water Sports Hub: It's the primary location in Diu for thrilling water activities. You can enjoy: * Jet Skiing * Parasailing * Banana Boat Rides * Bumper Rides * Speed Boat Rides * Calm and Safe Water: The semi-circular shape of the beach naturally results in calm, shallow water, making it an excellent and safe spot for swimming and bathing, particularly for families. * Relaxation and Activities: Beyond water sports, the beach is perfect for: * Sunbathing and relaxation. * Enjoying beautiful sunrises and sunsets. * Taking leisurely strolls along the 2 km stretch. * Activities like camel and pony rides are also available. * Convenience and Facilities: The beach is well-connected and has several resorts, restaurants, and beach shacks lining the shore, offering good food and easy accommodation access. It is also relatively close to Diu Airport. Points to Consider (Potential Improvements) * Crowds: Being the most famous beach, it can get crowded, especially during peak season, weekends, and holidays. * Water Quality: While generally regarded as having "crystal clear water," some older reviews occasionally mention the water being dirty or having a "muddy texture" due to black mud, though overall cleanliness is frequently praised by many visitors. * Overall: Nagoa Beach is an ideal destination for travelers looking for a blend of natural beauty, safe swimming, and exciting water activities, making it a must-visit in Diu.

**Review of Nagoa Beach, Diu** Nagoa Beach in Diu is a **beautiful and scenic spot**, perfect for hanging out with family and friends. The calm waves, black sand, and relaxed vibe make it a great place to unwind and enjoy the sea view. However, the **cleanliness of the beach could be improved**. While the natural beauty is captivating, the litter and lack of proper maintenance take away from the experience. If you're looking for a **pristine, clean beach**, this might not meet expectations. But if you simply want to **sit back, relax, and enjoy the sea**, then Nagoa Beach is still worth a visit. (3.5/5

🌴A Serene Paradise by the Arabian Sea🌴 Nagoa Beach in Diu is truly a hidden gem. The beach is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for both relaxation and adventure. If you’re visiting Diu, Nagoa Beach is a must-visit. Peaceful vibes, natural beauty.

My visit to Nagoa Beach in Diu was truly refreshing and memorable. The moment I reached the beach, I was greeted by clean golden sand, clear blue water, and rows of swaying palm trees that gave the place a peaceful and tropical feel. The atmosphere was calm, not too crowded, and perfect for simply relaxing and enjoying nature. I spent my morning walking barefoot along the shore, feeling the cool waves touch my feet. The water was surprisingly clean and safe, so I even enjoyed a light swim. Compared to many other beaches, Nagoa felt more peaceful and better maintained. There were a few water sports options like speed boating and jet skiing for those who love adventure, but I preferred just sitting quietly and watching the sea. By afternoon, I tried some local food from the nearby stalls — fresh seafood and coconut water, both amazing in taste and quality. The people around were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. As the sun began to set, the sky turned into shades of orange and pink, creating a picture-perfect view that I’ll never forget. Overall, my time at Nagoa Beach was soothing and full of simple joys. It’s a great place to unwind, take beautiful photos, and enjoy peaceful moments by the sea. I’d love to visit again someday.

Nagoa Beach in Diu is a remarkable blend of natural serenity and thrilling adventure, making it one of the region’s premier coastal destinations. Its distinctive horseshoe—or semi-circular—shape spans nearly 2–2.5 km of pristine white sand that curves gracefully into the gentle Arabian Sea . The surrounding palm groves, including rare Portuguese-introduced Hoka trees, enhance the setting’s tropical allure . Ideal for both relaxation and activity, Nagoa caters to a diverse crowd. Families and solo visitors can unwind, sunbathe, swim, or picnic by the calm shoreline . Meanwhile, thrill-seekers will appreciate the beach’s wide array of water sports—including jet skiing, parasailing, banana boats, speed boats, and even hot air balloon rides—with transparent, affordable pricing available . Adventure lovers can also enjoy camel and pony rides or explore nearby attractions like Diu Fort, St. Paul’s Church, and Naida Caves . A standout feature is the breathtaking sunsets—the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant oranges and pinks, creating unforgettable evening moments . Cleanliness is another highlight; visitors often note the beach’s well-maintained sands and soothing ambiance, surpassing some nearby options in upkeep . In terms of accessibility, Nagoa Beach is conveniently located just 7–8 km from Diu town and the airport, reachable via a short 20-minute drive or public transport . There are also plenty of nearby resorts, restaurants, and shacks offering refreshments and coastal dining . Verdict: Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or an action-packed day, Nagoa Beach delivers. It’s a scenic, well-equipped haven that strikes a rare balance between relaxation and recreation—making it a must-visit highlight of Diu.

Nestled on a rocky cliff with breathtaking views of the sea, the INS Khukri Memorial stands as a poignant tribute to the valiant sailors who lost their lives during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. This memorial honors those aboard the frigate INS Khukri, which was tragically torpedoed by a Pakistani submarine in 1976.
Situated on the banks of the Arabian Sea, I.N.S. Fukri Memorial is a very beautiful and historical place, from where you can see the wonderful view of the spectacular sunset. The specialty here is that golf cart facility is available after the entry, which takes you directly to the top point, making the journey even more comfortable and memorable. The cool breeze of the sea, calm atmosphere and photogenic location make it a perfect destination for travelers. For both history and nature lovers, this place offers a unique experience, which remains in the heart for a long time.

First of all on the history part, Indian Naval Ship Khukri was a frigate of our Navy unit during the Indo Pak war in 1971, which sank 40 nautical miles away from Diu. The place is really worth visiting for our generation to know what happened and why. A well placed and maintained Memorial and model ship made is a mini ship same as Khukri. Recommended a visit at Evening after 6 pm if you are coming in Summer, as it's humid and sun is hard during morning slot. The Memorial is upgraded and made more tourist friendly every year, more scenic spots, more sitting places, open air auditorium like space is one more attraction. It's neat and upkeep. It's on elevated space which makes scenic views more beautiful. Electric cabs available on a chargeable basis which covers two ways costing. Suitable for all including family members it may be old or young. Food joints are there which can fulfill tourist requirements like ice cream, cold drinks, water, snacks etc.

The INS Khukhri Memorial in Diu is one of the most inspiring and serene places I’ve visited. It’s built in memory of the Indian Navy warship INS Khukhri, which sank during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, and stands as a symbol of courage and sacrifice. The memorial is well maintained, offering a breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea. The information boards tell the story of the brave naval officers who went down with their ship — it’s both emotional and patriotic. Evening time is the best to visit, as the sunset view from here is simply mesmerizing. The surrounding area is clean and peaceful, making it perfect for spending some quiet, reflective time. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Diu.

At a distance of 1.5 km from Diu Bus Station, Diu Museum is a prominent museum located in Diu. Situated near St. Paul's Church, it is one of the museums in the Union Territory of Diu - Daman and among the must-visit places in Diu town. The museum was set up in the St. Thomas Church, hence it is called as St. Thomas Church Museum. The church was built in 1598 by an order of Bishop D. Aleixo Menezes and was the first Parish Church of Diu. Lies on an elevated platform within the Diu Fort, the church was built in the Gothic style of architecture. This edifice came under various functions like an Orphanage, Old Age Home, Police Station and prior to liberation, it housed the Angolan Battalion. Post-liberation, it was abandoned for many years. Later in 1992, the church was converted into a museum. After the conversion of the building to the museum, the church does not organize prayer services anymore, although an annual mass is held on All Saint's Day on 1st November.
