GURUDWARA SHRI DEGSAR SAHIB PAATSHAAHI 6TH & 10TH SAHIB is situated in the Katana Village In Distt. Ludhiana. GURUDWARA SAHIB is situated on the Doraha Nillon Link Road by the Side of Canal PAATSHAAHI 6TH RELATED: SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI came to this place on 20th Phagun 1675. GURU JI had 7 cannons, 1100 horse riders & Chandu Qaidi ( the one who was involved in SHRI GURU ARJUN DEV JI\"s martyrdom), one gown with 52 flower buds with which he freed 52 prisoners from Gwalior fort. He also took rest here for a night & tied his horse with a \"Ber\" tree. This place is known as DAMDAMA SAHIB. PAATSHAAHI 10TH RELATED: SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI , on becoming \"Uchh Da Pir\", came here on 11 Poh 1761 Bikrami. Along with him came Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh, Bhai Maan Singh, Bhai Nabi Khan & Bhai Gani Khan. He got his bed placed under the \"BER SAHIB\" & took rest. He also distributed the \"DEG\" with his holy hands & named this place as \"DEGSAR SAHIB\". So whoever offers DEG with a promise, his desire is fulfilled by GURU SAHIB. RIVER RELATED: In the year 1854, a survey was conducted regarding Sirhind river & it was proposed to pass a river from this place but the engineer, Mr. Smith, who was taking care of the digging work got blind while cutting the \"BERI SAHIB\". Blood came out wherever the \"BERI SAHIB\" was hit. The foreigner engineer regretted & offered DEG of Rs 51 & he began to see again. Then this place was not touched at all & the river was made to bend & pass. The river going close to GURUDWARA SAHIB is a proof to history & the \"BERI SAHIB\" still exists. A small GURUDWARA SAHIB constructed by Mr. Smith is close by & can be seen standing on a hillock. He wanted to destroy this GURUDWARA SAHIB & construct a GURUDWARA SAHIB on it but this big GURUDWARA SAHIB still stands firm with its glory & there is a big \"Jor Mela\" on every Sangraand.

Charan Gurdawara (Tibba Road Ludhiana) Gurudwara

Gurudwara
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Charan Kamal (Tibba Road Ludhiana) Gurudwara is a significant Sikh shrine that holds historical and spiritual importance. It marks the location where Guru Gobind Singh rested after enduring hardships, and it features stunning Sikh architecture. The annual fair in December celebrates the congregation of this holy place. Visitors describe it as a calm, spiritual place where one can easily connect with the divine and find inner peace.
This holy place is sanctified by the visit of Guru Gobind Singh. After the battle of Chamkaur Sahib, enduring hardships, he pushed his way through the thick jungles infested with thorny bushes. After an arduous journey, he lay down on the bare stony ground for rest in the garden of Masand Gulab Rai. Here his pathan devotees Ghani Khan and Nabi Khan recognised him and provided all facilities to the great Guru. From here Guru was taken in a Palki (Palanquin) disguised as 'Uch Ka Pir'. For this purpose the Guru put on a blue dress and so did his disciples accompanying him. The plan they adopted, proved a total success. Only once Mughal army intercepted the procession of the Guru but answer of Nabi Khan and Ghani Khan was so convincing that no suspicion was raised by the Mughal soldiers Thus Gurdwara Machhiwara has became a place of pilgrimage. upto this day people remember the two Pathan brothers Nabi Khan and Ghani Khan with great respect as they risked their lives in serving the Tenth Master. Gurdwara Charan Kanwal, Machhiwara, Dist. Ludhiana After agreeing to leave Chamkaur as commanded by his Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh escaped into the night and the jungle surrounded by the enemy troops. In the dark the Guru was separated from his three Sikh and left alone in the dense jungle. Guru Gobind Singh trudged through the jungle day and night, his clothes tattered and his feet blistered. Eventually the Guru reached the outskirts of Machiwara town and lay down to sleep in a garden in some bushes on the ground with a stone as his pillow. Here he was found by the three remaining Sikhs Daram Singh, Daya Singh and Man Singh. This gurdwara marks that spot where Guru Gobind Singh was found sleeping. Guru Gobind Singh drank water from the well that appears in the foreground. Gurdwara Chubara Sahib, Machhiwara, Dist. Ludhiana A Sikh named Gulaba Singh lived in the town of Machhiwara and provided Guru Gobind Singh and his three Sikhs refuge in his house at this spot while the enemy where prowling the countryside looking for the Guru with orders to capture or kill him.

Gurudwara Wadda Ghalughara Sahib

Gurudwara
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
As Ahmad Shah was returning home after his historic victory over the Marathas in the third battle of Panipat in 1761, the Sikhs had harassed him all the way from the River Sutlej right up to the Indus Valley. When the Sikhs returned to central Punjab, they ravaged the country all around, annihilated the Afghan force in Char Mahal, drove away the Faujdar (General) of Jalandhar, plundered Sirhind and Malerkotia, defeated a force which was 12,000 strong, sent by Ahmad Shah from Afghanistan to punish them and another led personally by the Afghan governor of Lahore, and even captured Lahore, all within a short period, June-September 1761. At a general assembly (Sarbat Khalsa) of the Dal at Amritsar convened on the occasion of Bandi Chhor Divas, 27 October 1761, it was resolved to punish the agents, informers and collaborators of the Afghans, beginning with Aqil Das of Jandiala, head of the heretical Niranjania sect and an inveterate enemy of the Sikhs. Aqil Das dispatched messengers hastily to Ahmad Shah Durrani, who had in fact already entered India at the head of a large army. Meanwhile, the Sikhs had besieged Jandiala, 18km east of Amritsar. Aqil Das’s messengers met the Shah at Rohtas. The latter advanced at a quick pace but before he reached Jandiala, the Sikhs had lifted the siege and retired beyond the River Sutlej with the object of sending their families to the safety of the wastelands of Malwa before confronting the invader. Ahmad Shah, on the other hand, determined to teach the Sikhs a lesson, sent messages to Zain Khan, Faujdar (General) of Sirhind, and Bhikhan Khan, Chief of Malerkotia, directing them immediately to check and halt the Sikhs’ advance, while he himself taking a light cavalry force set out at once, covering a distance of 200 km including two river crossings in fewer than 48 hours, caught up with the Sikhs who were encamped at Kup Rahira, 12km north of Malerkotia, at dawn on the 5th of February 1762. The Dal Khalsa, comprising all of the 11 Misls and representatives of the Sikh Chiefs of Malwa, was taken by surprise. The attacks of Zain Khan and Bhikhan Khan were easily repulsed, but the main body of Ahmad Shah, much larger and better equipped, soon overtook them. Having to protect the slow moving baggage train comprising of belongings, women, children, old men and other noncombatants, the Sikhs could not resort to their usual hit and run tactics, and a stationary battle against such superior numbers was inadvisable. On the day of the attack (February 5th ,1762) Zain Khan attacked with his 20,000 men and artillery. Ahmad Shah also joined the attack with 30,000 horsemen. Sardar Jassa Singh and Sardar Charat Singh ordered the Khalsa Army to encircle the women, children and elders and keep proceeding towards Barnala as a war strategy. The Khalsa Army’s only aim was to save the Sangat somehow and fight with enemy to inflict maximum losses on their end. In this process the Khalsa Army suffered heavy casualties.

Vadda Ghalughara (Punjabi: ਵੱਡਾ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰਾ [ʋəɖɖɑ kə̀lːuɡɑ̀ɾɑ], "The Great Massacre") was the mass-murder of the unarmed Sikhs by the Afghan forces of the Durrani Empire during the years of Afghan influence in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent owing to the repeated incursions of Ahmad Shah Durrani in February 1762.[1] It is distinguished from the Chhota Ghalughara (the Smaller Massacre). Mostly non-combatants, were killed[2] in the event and an estimated that 10,000 to 20,000 Sikhs were killed on 5 February 1762

Gurdwara Godri Sahib, located 4 km from Faridkot on the Faridkot-Kotkapura road, marks the spot where Baba Sheikh Farid is believed to have left his “godari” (jacket) before entering Faridkot. Built in 1982, the gurdwara includes a “Sant Sarovar” (holy pond) where devotees, especially on Thursdays, take a sacred dip for spiritual blessings. The site gains prominence during the annual Baba Farid Festival in September, attracting pilgrims. Revered for its deep historical and spiritual significance, the gurdwara stands as a tribute to Baba Farid’s legacy, drawing visitors who seek peace and divine blessings.

It's a beautiful Gurudwara Sahib built in the memory of Baba Sheikh Farid Ji Shakargand. It's out of the city rush therefore it's a very peaceful place. There is plenty of parking space available in the courtyard. There is an old Gurudwara Sahib building left to the entrance and there is a new one as well which is more like a big hall. Langar and tea served here. There is a holy pond where you can take dip before offering prayers. If you want to stay overnight, they provide that accomodation too. There is book stall available near langar hall from where you can buy books related to Baba Farid Ji and other respected Sikh figures. It's a spiritual place, behave yourself when you are visiting here.

Tenth Patshah Guru Gobind Singh Ji came to this place on his way to Sri Muktsar Sahib from Machhiwara via Dina Kangar, Bargari, Behibal, Saravan etc. According to Suraj Prakash Ganth, when Guru Ji came to the cities of Behbal and Saravan, he found that there was a pond called Dodevala with holy water nearby. Then the Guru reached this place at three o'clock in the afternoon and after bathing in this pool sat down to rest. At that moment, a martyr with a white beard and white clothes came from a very large tree in Srinh and bowed his head at the Guru's feet. Guru Sahib said to him, "you are fine, Usain Khan Mian." He asked, "Guru ji, who is this beautiful form that has disappeared from our sight by beheading you?" Then Satguru said, "He is a hard working martyr who for some reason did not get salvation." Due to our deeds, we have achieved salvation through our Darshan. This place which has touched the feet of Guru Sahib is famous as Guru Ki Dhab. Whoever bathes here with devotion will attain salvation. By bathing in this eight side sarovar In the joy of Guru Sahib's arrival at this place, an annual fair is held every year for 2,3,4 Assu.

If someone is going to Bathinda one must visit this park. It is regulated by military persons. Horse riding, Bunjee for kids available, entry fee is there for adults and children above 7years. A small pond is there. Above this pond they have a pond crossing activity (like river crossing).

One of the best parks in bathinda has plenty of space . Nice getaway from the city for some hours. Had plenty of activities here. Also showcased, some army equipment. Please note that if you are visiting on the two-wheeler helmet, it is complusary, even for a pillion

I truly appreciate the army’s efforts in maintaining the park’s cleanliness and safety. The grounds are always spotless, making it a pleasant place to visit. The well-kept greenery and facilities add to the park’s charm. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my visit. This park is a wonderful example of dedication and care.
Syamala S — Google review
I came here on 20/11/22. Ticket price ₹30.00 per person. After that we started roaming around in the park, we initiated from dynasore sculptures. They was three dynasores with different size and fascinating colours. Then, we took round in almost all the areas and got a chance to see different types of species of pigeons, turkeys, pig-rabbit and rabbits. Moreover, we moved on military tanks and car racing 🏎 passage, infact we clicked some pictures over there. *But the bad think is that the management of this park is very pathetic, there was no water body fuctioning and the lake was drought. They even don't know what's going on here, actually when I was seen rabbit and tried to click some pictures then I noticed one rabbit was died out, might be from last night, but didn't care.
Siddharth — Google review
Was visiting from UK so everything felt cheap, but for a middle class family living locally it can be really expensive. Can be made a lot better with revenue from food sales. New and Better rides with ample space to put them in. Toilets are best avoided. Scary statue figures can be replaced with something educational for kids. Infact a paid section for a military museum can be opened inside park. Only locals know the place , better signage to the park would help in more footfall. If you need a ride you need to rush to the ticket counter at the gate , something with online payment system near the ride makes more sense as government itself is promoting cashless payments.

I had an amazing time when I recently went to Bathinda's Rose Garden. My visit was made really pleasant by the wide variety of flowers, the lovely picnic areas, and the roomy play area that brought back memories of Appu Park. Families will love the ambience, which is enhanced by the thoughtful design of the garden. The variety of flowers used to create the lively and colourful environment really amazed me. The availability of clean picnic areas made it possible to unwind in the middle of the wilderness. It was a welcome surprise to see a large play area similar to Appu Park, which kept kids and families entertained.

Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, located in Talwandi Sabo near Bathinda, is a deeply spiritual and peaceful place. It’s one of the five holy Takhts in Sikhism and holds great importance, as Guru Gobind Singh Ji finalized the Guru Granth Sahib here. The Gurudwara’s calm atmosphere, sacred water tanks, and historical relics make the experience truly moving. Visiting during Vaisakhi is especially beautiful, with the whole place filled with devotion and energy. Though there’s no direct train, it’s an easy drive from Bathinda. Whether you’re religious or just curious, the visit leaves a lasting impression on your heart.

Visiting Takht Damdama Sahib is a truly spiritual and enriching experience. As one approaches the revered Sikh shrine, the tranquil surroundings and the resonant sound of hymns create a peaceful atmosphere. The white marble structure, set against open skies, instills a deep sense of devotion and reflection. Pilgrims gather, offering prayers and listening to recitations of the Guru Granth Sahib. Participating in langar (community meal) highlights the unity and equality valued here. The historic significance of the takht resonates throughout, allowing visitors to feel both humbled and uplifted. The warmth and hospitality of the people leave a lasting impression.

Brilliant place. Good to visit with family and friends. Beautifully organized. The magnificent statue of Lord Shiva is so majestic and it becomes even more beautiful in the evening with light effects. The artificial cave gives a wonderful experience. The sound effect in the background makes it more real and exciting. One of the longest artificial caves I have ever visited so far. The visit was worth remembering. Enjoyed a lot.

Tarakeshwar Dham, also popularly known as Tara Baba Ji Ki Kutiya is a shrine built in the memory of Sirsa's very own saint, Param Sant Shri Tara Baba Ji. Established in the year 2004 and is maintained by The Tara Baba Trust, established in the memory of Shri Murlidhar Kanda. Average place to visit, lots of open area, big parking, clam place, clean, average greenery, Poor drinking water facility, good place to visit in winters in day time but poor in summers, workers and security officers have poor behaviour specially who are guarding cave side and parks, food and canteen are of below average quality in hygiene and quality of food. Good place for kids and elders. No facility for disabled person. Lots of insects in rainy season. You have to take off shoes far before entering to cave and temple...

Archaeological Museum Kalibangan

Specialty Museums
If you're in for a treat in history then it's the best thing out there. We were visiting someone at Suratgarh and when I was scrolling through Google maps, I found Kalibanga there. It literally took 45-50mins to get there (Suratgarh to pilibanga by train and pilibanga to kalibanga by bus) "What an amazing place it is." In the museum, we were creating our own theories by looking at every piece of whatever is there. We roamed around the excavation site for like 2 hours and then left. Highly recommended for history lovers.

Kalibangan is a great place to learn about one of the world’s oldest civilizations. You can see old streets, houses, and things like pots and tools used by people long ago. It’s a peaceful and amazing place for anyone who loves history.

All the Indus Valley Civilization sites in India are not in tourist circuits / routes. One such Early Harappan and Mature Harappan site of Kalibangan is in Hanumangarh District of Rajasthan. It is a must visit place if you are in the area. Besides visiting the beautiful and informative ASI Museum, one could also visit actual excavation site. However, there is nothng much to see on the site as all critical areas have reportedly been covered again for preservation. It would be better to buy tickets scanning QR code at the Museum instead of buying in advance from ASI website which may not function correctly at times. All the terra cota shards seen scattered over entire area in the photos are suupposed to be from Harappan Era!

Junagarh Fort, a stunning 16th-century marvel located in Bikaner, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and architecture lovers alike. This impressive fort showcases an eclectic mix of architectural styles that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. As you explore its grand halls and intricate designs, guided tours offer fascinating insights into its storied past.
An amazing fort and must visit fort. It is beautiful and very well maintained. The buildings are stunning and the history is so interesting. It's not too crowded, so you can really enjoy walking around. One of the best forts I have seen. You should definitely visit if you are in Bikaner. Entry fee for Indians is 150rs and for foreigners it is 600rs. This includes fort and museum entry along with a free guide. Do not fall for guides operating independently. instead prefer the one that comes along with the entry ticket.
Adarsh N — Google review
Visiting Junagarh Fort in Bikaner felt like stepping into a grand chapter of Rajasthan’s royal history. Unlike most forts that sit atop hills, this one stands proudly on flat land, making it easier to access—especially for senior visitors. The moment I entered, the intricate carvings, beautifully painted ceilings, and royal artifacts took me back in time. Every corner of the palace complex had a story to tell—from the royal bedrooms to the weapon galleries and ornate courtyards. The fort is open from **10 AM to 4:30 PM**, and the ticket price is quite reasonable—₹50 for Indians and around ₹300 for foreigners. Audio guides cost about ₹350, but I chose a local guide who was both informative and entertaining. He explained the history with such passion that it made the whole visit more memorable. Accessibility-wise, the fort is fairly senior-friendly as it’s on level ground and cleanly maintained, though a few narrow stairways and uneven sections might require caution. Parking is available near the entrance, and staff members are quite helpful if you need assistance. Overall, my experience at Junagarh Fort was both educational and emotional—a glimpse into Rajasthan’s regal charm without the hassle of steep climbs. The guide’s storytelling, the preserved grandeur, and the sense of calm inside made it one of my favorite stops in Bikaner.

Junagarh Fort is an absolute gem in Bikaner! Unlike most forts built on hills, this one stands proudly on the plains — yet looks grand and majestic. The architecture is stunning, with beautifully decorated palaces like Anup Mahal and Phool Mahal showcasing intricate carvings, mirror work, and vibrant frescoes. The museum inside is fascinating, with royal artifacts, old weapons, costumes, and even vintage aircrafts and carriages. The guided tour was excellent — the guide shared some amazing stories about Bikaner’s royal past. The fort is very well maintained, clean, and great for photography. I’d recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon for the best light. If you’re in Bikaner, don’t miss Junagarh Fort — it’s a perfect mix of history, art, and royal charm!

The fort is amazing. After whole tour, I was just mesmerized is a beauty and the history that it serves. I forgot the Red Forts of Delhi and Agra. The architecture is amazing. Most amazing sites are Anup Mahal and Holi chowk. The whole court is covered with art. Well preserved by the royal family. The ticket is 100 (fort) + 50 (royal museum) for Indians. This staff is good and helping. Must visit for all in a lifetime.

A building of utmost heritage importance. Tour guide was biased and wouldn't tell anything. But the fort is beautifully made and was evolved with various generations. Various materials can be seen used over different regions and walls. Hints of indo - Islamic design, maratha style, British mostly - as the late prince was their favorite - can be spotted at various spaces. Sandalwood singhasan is a show stopper.

Hi If you visiting Rajasthan don’t miss junagarh fort and palace. This is the most beautiful palace accosting me compared to Udaipur and Jaipur. The collections are so colourful you will go flabbergasted . Pictures will tell the story . I am not good at photography. Still the photos seems to be extraordinary 😊

The ticket counter closes by 4:30 PM, so make sure to reach early and book your tickets in advance. You can hire a guide from outside, or opt for a free government-approved guide included with your entry ticket (though you may need to wait a little). Inside, the fort showcases magnificent royal courts adorned with gold and silver, and the intricate architecture and detailed wall designs are truly captivating. It usually takes about 30 minutes to explore the entire palace, depending on your pace. Parking is available inside the fort premises, and since the fort is centrally located in the city, you can also explore the local bazaars nearby after your visit. Overall, a beautifully maintained fort that gives you a glimpse into Bikaner’s royal heritage and grandeur.

At a distance of 3 km from Bikaner Junction Railway Station, Shri Laxminath Temple is an ancient Hindu temple situated just beside Bhandasar Jain Temple in Bikaner Town of Rajasthan. It is one of the oldest temples in Bikaner and also one of the top places to visit in Bikaner. Shri Laxminath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his consort, Goddess Laxmi. It was constructed by Maharaja Rao Lunakaran, between 1504 and 1526 CE. Later the temple was developed by Maharaja Ganga Singh with more elaborate art work inside the temple and highlighting architectural skills. The temple was constructed as a seat of Laxminathji as the rulers of Bikaner territory regarded Lord Laxminath as the King of Bikaner and themselves as his ministers, The temple is made of marble and red stone. Particularly for this temple the red stone was imported from Jaisalmer. The silver artwork on the doorway is extremely beautiful and is noteworthy.

Shri laxminath temple is the oldest temple in the city and it is one of the must visit places in bikaner. Not only the temple but even the route that take you to the temple is through the old city of bikaner so you can see the shops the small roads and feel the traditional bikaner. Coming back to the temple after you came across those narrow roads the perimeter of the temple is huge and it comprises of multiple mandir's(temples) and gardens. The garden area is divided into 4 parts:- 1. Where there are swings and other rides that is only open for women and children. 2,3 They comprises of sitting area with green grass field where you can sit and enjoy the serenity of the place. 4. This part is at the end , backside of mataji mandir and here there are fitness equipment (playitems) that you can enjoy. Verdict: You must go to this place and just experience the serenity and stillness of it and also you will get a full view of the city from this temple. Tip: Make sure to go on the correct timings as temple gets opened early in the morning and you can attend aarti and it closes at 01:00 pm after that it opens after 06:30 pm. Situated at Bikaner. One of the most fascinating aspects of the temple is its construction. This unusual method has resulted in a structure that exudes a unique charm and has stood the test of time. The temple is famous for wall painting and art work. This temple was constructed by Bhandasa Oswal in the 12th century. The temple is dedicated to Sumatinatha, the 5th tirthankara .According to legends, 40,000 kg of ghee instead of water was used in preparing the mortar for the construction of this temple.
Shruti C — Google review
The main fact that Ghee was used to make foundation instead of water. The story behind is that people gone to Seth Bhandashah for the donations to make tample. But at that time a drop of ghee spilled off from the hand of Seth and the Seth immediately wiped it by his another hand to avoid weasteage. After seeing this, The priest tonted the Seth that you can't even spare a drop of ghee, how will you make that luxurious tample. The Seth then declared that in making of the foundation of the Tample, the ghee will be used instead of water and all the ghee will be provided by him. The priest had taken it lightly, but next morning what he found that tons of ghee was there as Seth Bhandashah promised. At the time of May and June, one can witness that even today ghee comes out from the floor of tample. The tample is dedicated to First Tirthankar Bhagwan Rishabh Dev

Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok is one of the most unique and spiritual places in Rajasthan. The temple is beautifully built in marble with detailed carvings and silver doors that add to its charm. The main attraction is the thousands of sacred rats (called kabas), which are considered the incarnations of Karni Mata’s devotees. It’s said that spotting a white rat here brings good fortune. The atmosphere is filled with devotion and peace. The temple premises are clean and well-managed, and local vendors outside offer prasad and souvenirs. Evening aarti is a mesmerizing experience — highly recommended for anyone visiting Bikaner. 🙏 Tip: Remove shoes before entering and walk carefully as the kabas move freely around.

A truly divine and unique experience — the temple is home to hundreds of holy rats, and it is believed to be auspicious if you spot the rare white one. The temple seems to be under renovation currently, but the darshan was amazing and peaceful. You can feed the mice inside the temple; they are harmless but often move close to your feet, so walk carefully. On normal days, the crowd is minimal, especially during morning hours, making the darshan smooth and quick. A must-visit spiritual place known for its faith, devotion, and extraordinary belief system.

Temple is located 500m off highway. Approach or road from highway towards temple is narrow only one car can pass. Touch have to wait for car to exit then you can take your car in. I recommend to park on highway and walk. Most people after reaching parking place get to know parking charge is Rs 100 and do not park and go back to highway to park. Any day you will have 1000s of visitors guaranteed. You would surely be in queue. There is no arrangement for shoe stand. 1000s of shoes are scattered everywhere. Food grains are donated by devotees are also scattered everywhere. Once you will enter the temple, you will see rats. So much rush that you will get few seconds to see goddess, then you will be pushes away. Even my daughter could not see the goddess, pushes away. Temple is big and magnificent.

Jai MAA KARNII♥️✨ 🐀 Karni Mata: The Rat Goddess of Deshnok Karni Mata, revered as an incarnation of the Hindu Goddess Durga, was a legendary warrior sage who lived between the 14th and 16th centuries in Rajasthan. She is the tutelary deity of the royal families of Bikaner and Jodhpur, credited with laying the foundations for their major forts, including Mehrangarh and Bikaner Fort. Karni Mata is central to the history of the region and is widely worshipped for her powers of victory and protection. Her most famous legacy is the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, often called the "Temple of Rats." This unique sanctuary is home to over 25,000 black rats, known as kabbas, which are considered sacred and protected. The deep reverence for these rodents stems from a famous legend: when Karni Mata's stepson, Laxman, drowned, she pleaded with Yama, the god of death, to restore his life. Yama eventually relented, but reincarnated Laxman and all male members of her Charan clan as rats. Therefore, the kabbas are believed to be the reincarnated souls of her family and followers. Devotees travel from afar to offer food and prayers to the rats, considering it highly auspicious to eat food nibbled by them. Spotting a white rat among the multitude is considered particularly blessed, as they are believed to be the manifestations of Karni Mata herself and her sons. The temple is a stunning example of faith intertwining with unique folklore, where rodents are not pests but sacred family members in an unbroken cycle of life.
VIRU C — Google review
The initial surprise of seeing so many rats quickly turns into fascination. Watching the devotees and rats coexist so peacefully is a powerful sight. We came here during afternoon hours and there was almost no crowd at that time. Locals told me that it becomes crowded during special fests, so plan accordingly. There is ample parking space and food options.

Lake is more than what you will expect. Clean and adjoining palace has been converted into Hotel. You can enjoy the views of lake by paying 250 per Person in the Hotel and enjoy boating at 330 Per Person including visit charges. There is another end of lake where you don't have to pay anything but it like in the Jungle.

“Beautiful place” Gajner lake is beautiful lake to visit. Best time is monsoon so much water will there. It was very attractive artificial lake. The 30 minutes boat ride you enjoy the sound of water, birds humming sound at one area, enjoy the shadow of the palace in water and the sun set view is also beautiful. It was very attractive artificial lake.

Gajner Lake, located in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan, is about 35 km from the main road leading from Bikaner to Jaisalmer. This artificial lake offers a spectacular sight to travellers. Looming towers located at the lake entrance make it one of the symbolic places of Bikaner. Once a summer holiday home of the royals, the lake is now part of a luxury hotel. Boating can be enjoyed in the solar powered boats at the lake. During winter months, the lake becomes home to more than a hundred species of migratory birds including the Imperial Sand Grouse

Gajner Lake is an artificial lake that offers captivating sites to the visitors. This is one of the best and must visit Tourist Places In Rajasthan. Colossally mushroomed towers situated at the entrance of the lake makes Gajner Lake is of the most allusive, symbolic and illustrative places to visit in Bikaner. Here in this lake, the tourist can relish boating. The place becomes an abode to thousands of species during winter time and also one of the beautiful places in Rajasthan.

Gajner fort is beautifully sited along marvelous lake of Gajner. The fort was Constructed in red stone and the has been converted into a heritage hotel. It has neatly arranged rooms around large courtyards. Has a bar, restaurant, lots of greenery. The outdoor seating of the restaurant along the lake is worth spending an evening. A must visit place while in Bikaner.

A Hidden Gem for Authentic Handcrafted Treasures I recently visited kanooga handicrafts, and it was a truly delightful experience. The shop is a treasure trove of beautifully handcrafted items that reflect the skill, culture, and creativity of local artisans. From intricately designed pottery and handwoven textiles to carved wooden artifacts and unique home décor pieces, every item tells a story. The quality of the craftsmanship is exceptional, and it’s clear that a lot of care and tradition go into each piece. The shop has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable—happy to explain the origin and process behind each craft. Prices are fair, especially considering the time and effort that go into making these products. It’s the perfect place to find meaningful gifts or to add a unique touch to your own home

I am so happy with my entire shopping experience with kanooga handicrafts . They are a loving team who have many beautiful antiques and home decor items that will add a regal charm to your home. Exquisite quality. Fine workmanship. Pricing is also awesome. Customer interaction is excellent. This brand is run by a doctor who helps underprivileged kids with their treatment with our purchase. I feel happy to support a noble cause. They were so kind to also send some Thazampoo kunkumam as well along with my purchase. You are assured of happy smiles and many compliments with your purchase from this store. Highly recommend!!!
